LQNPA, Thursday 5-03, #92: The Woman Who Couldn't Figure Out Why She Stayed Up To Watch This Episode

***The actual recap for episode 92 will be appended to this post as soon as it is ready.  This is the recap for episode 91.  I'll leave it as a reminder of the evils of workaholism and drink.  For further details, please see the comment section***

***Episode 92 is below...for realz***

Hey all, it's been a long week, a long day, and now it's a late night, so things are gonna be pretty brief, except that I may also go on bizarre tangents.  Cause I had some wine.  It happens.  Anyway…

Esteban's going to go ahead and supervise the drilling of the well since Gus is persona non grata at the hacienda.

Vanessa trades Bruno David's share of Rancho La Negra for getting back together with Rogelio.  And exactly how does Bruno plan to pull that off?

Ernesto spent the night out of the house…thinking.  He really has an issue with Mercedes' attitude and the way she's not thinking about the pueblo's need for medical services.  I really have an issue with Mercedes' babying her brother.  They make up.  For now.  I give it a week.  No, too generous.  I give it a day and a half.

Why is Macaria tending to Efrain's wounds?  Ah, she's making a play to get the infamous letter back.

Oh, good grief.  Rogelio wants Ulises to spy on Gustavo in town.  He also wants Gus kicked out of the local inn/B&B.

If he won't hand over the letter, Macaria wants Efrain to at least tell her what it said.  He whines and tries to worm his way back into her pants.

Ulises tells Rogelio about the existence of the letter, but that's really all he can say.

Bruno tells Ana Paula that Rogelio and Vanessa's PDA is what ruined their chances of adopting Margarito.

Ulises makes excuses for why he never handed over the letter before.  Mainly, because it was supposed to go to Margarito when he turned 16.  Rogelio suggests Ulises ask his gosssipy wife what it said, since she probably read it.

Ana Paula yells at Rogelio for screwing up the adoption.

Margarito writes a letter for his counselor to send…presumably to someone at the hacienda.  Maura comes in to fetch Margarito to lunch.  A delivery guy comes in with a bunch of boxes from Rogelio.  Toys for all the kids.  The stuffed horse is for Margarito.

Rutilio is still whining to Bruno about his need for money.  Bruno is unsympathetic.  I can't imagine why.

Rogelio says he'll find a way to fix it.  AP says if he doesn't, she'll go adopt him on her own when the contract is over.  Rogelio references AP's "marital duties" but doesn't get to explain that any further.  Vanessa comes in weeping and whining that the same guy who killed Maripaz broke into her office.  He very generously offers to let her conduct business from the hacienda.  AP doesn't like the idea.  Rogelio is willing to let Vanessa hang all over him when AP is in the room, but once she leaves, he tells her not to get any ideas--things will be on his terms.

Cinthia checks out Gustavo's busted-up face in the fonda.  He says Efrain did it on his own, because he has a thing for Cinthia.  Efrain comes in to tell Cin that no one's supposed to be talking to Gustavo.  Gus starts to get into it with him, but Cin tells Efrain to wait outside.

Rog won't sleep with Vanessa.  Vanessa offers to help Rogelio get a baby if he wants one so badly.  She'd rather he not be stuck with AP.  Rog is now glad that Vanessa ditched him before, since at least she was being honest with him.  She tells him she'd do anything to get him back.

AP complains to Dany about Vanessa.  She decides to just avoid Vanessa.  Rosaura offers to get Rogelio to quit upsetting AP.

Gus still loves Paula and wants to get her out of the house.  Cinthia gets upset at hearing that and leaves the fonda.  There was more conversation than that, but it bored me, so I ignored it.

While Ernesto and Mercedes review some paperwork, she finds the letter from AP to Rogelio that Ernesto never gave him.  He takes the letter to give it back to AP.

Cinthia is upset at Efrain for making it so obvious that he's into her.

Rogelio tells Bruno to set up an office for Vanessa.  He's pissed to find out that Rutilio had been working for Bruno, since that reflects badly on him as well.  Rogelio tells Bruno about the letter.  That Ulises had.  That he doesn't have anymore.  That he never read, so he has no idea what it said.

Gustavo complains to Esteban that he got kicked out of the B&B.  He doesn't want to stay with Ern and Mercedes.  He won't leave the town.

Aw, man!  Macaria did the nasty with Efrain AGAIN.  Ulises comes back.  He stopped by the police station and found out that the guy who killed Maripaz is back in town and broke into Vanessa's office.  And also Rogelio is pissed off about the letter.  Ulises is lovey with Macaria, which only makes her feel more guilty.

OK, so Bruno set up the whole "break-in" to help Vanessa.  He tries to claim David's property and Vanessa's knee.  He fails at one or both of those.

Per Esteban, Gustavo will find another job quickly.  Mercedes whines.  Esteban tells her to quit letting her whininess get between her and Ernesto.

Efrain rats out AP to Rogelio for calling Gustavo earlier.

Cinthia and Vanessa have yet another bitch session about how everybody loves AP.  Cinthia suggests "extreme measures"…which apparently includes getting Vanessa to live at the hacienda.

Rogelio wants the land line cut off and Rosaura and Dany's cell phones confiscated.

Um, that was quite a shot of Susana Gonzalez's butt in those jeans.  I can't believe she's nearly 40.  I'm contemplating the amount of working out it would take to have a butt like that and it just makes me want to eat ice cream out of the carton and drink wine straight from the bottle.  Bruno reports to the ladies that Rogelio is still trying to bust Margarito out of the orphanage.  He does know of a way Rogelio could do it, but he's not going to tell him.  In exchange for…?  He doesn't say yet, but I'm sure there will be something.  He does tell them Rogelio wants the letter found.

Rosaura asks Efrain what's up with this mystery letter she's hearing about.  Efrain gets frisky as he wrestles Rosaura's cell phone away from her.  Or tries to.  She hands it over to him, bragging that Rogelio will give it back to her himself.  Apparently, she stole Dany's phone earlier and it's now tucked inside her bra.

Cinthia complains to Efrain about the letter.  Efrain won't return her money and he won't tell her who he gave it to, either, since she's seeing Gustavo again.  He's got a snake ready and Cinthia wants to deploy it.  Get your mind out of the gutter.  On second thought, don't…she probably has thoughts about that too.

Consuelo comes to visit.  Since she and Miguel are friends again, Maria gives Consuelo back the comb that he made for her.

Ernesto brought the budget for the clinic for Rogelio's approval.  Rogelio's fine with the plan, he wants the best OB equipment for AP and the baby, but he doesn't want to hear about Mercedes or Gustavo and he's pissed that he ever thought Ernesto was his friend.  That was kinda sad.

Gus goes to Mercedes and Ern's place with his tail between his legs.  He can't get a room anywhere in San Gabriel.  Mercedes insists on him staying, at least for one night.

Ernesto stands up for himself, claiming patient confidentiality.  He vows to keep his work and personal life separate.  Rogelio backs down and agrees.  Ern reminds Rogelio that AP still need to stay calm.  He'd like to check her out while he's there.  Rogelio agrees, but says he'll go with him.

Efrain goes back to the fonda and insists on talking to Macaria about the letter.  She tells him that Ulises has gone to the police about it.  She suggests that if the letter is so important to Rogelio, then Efrain ought to be able to get a lot of money for it.

AP's still doing ok, but she needs to chill.  Ernesto offers to come back next week, but Rogelio insists that AP will be attended by the best gynecologist in the region.  Ernesto leaves and Rogelio gripes at AP that she only wanted to be alone with him to ask about Gustavo.  She complains that she never has a second of privacy and Rogelio agrees that she won't have one!

Macaria suggests leaving the letter in Rogelio's desk so he doesn't get in trouble for having it.  Ulises comes back and asks for Efrain's advice about finding the letter.

Rosaura has been summoned by Rogelio, along with Miguel and Dany.  He kicks them out.

Tomorrow: AP's life is in danger.

***Here is the start of the real, honest-to-goodness, Episode 92***

Rosaura whines about being kicked out.  Miguel will keep working on furniture, Dany will keep working with Ernesto on the clinic, and Rosaura will…ummm…Rosaura will keep doing whateverthehell it is she does, but they will ALL do it somewhere else so Rogelio and AP can live alone and enjoy their anti-honeymoon.  With Vanessa and Cinthia?  Miguel says this isn't the way to do it, though he's fine with not mooching off Rogelio.  Rogelio doesn't want gossipy, interfering people getting in the way while he and AP "resolve" their issues.  Guess who says she's not gossipy and interfering?  Guess who doesn't get immediately struck by lightning on the spot, even though she totally has it coming?  "We just wanna heeeeeeelp!  Where are we gonna liiiiiive!  We don't have any moneeeeeeey!"  She can't go back to Tuxtla either, because she left it all behiiiiiiind!  Well, Rog will give them one of his houses in San Gabriel.  He's acting very reasonable, not that I'm buying it, and saying married people live alone and that's not weird for him to want to (and no, he will not discuss Vanessa…that's work related).  Miguel stands firm and says he won't leave the house without AP, if that's what she wants, and he doesn't care if it means he has to go back to jail, he's putting his sister first.  Rogelio is glad to hear it…"That's the attitude you should have had from the beginning!"  Rog admits he doesn't know if he can forgive her, but he's going to try to work things out.  He's kicking them out for hiding that Gustavo was AP's boyfriend.  Since he can't trust them, he wants them gone.

Cinthia encourages Vanessa to redecorate, but she could give a rat's ass.  She just wants to be near Rogelio.  Cinthia gets that, but she thinks redecorating will piss off AP.  The two of them hear Dany and Miguel talking about being kicked out.  Vanessa's thrilled.  Cinthia seems less so, even though she hopes he'll get rid of AP too.

Rosaura.  Crying.  Whining.  "AP luuuuuuurves you!  And Cin and Gus were so happy together!  Let me stay and take care of my niiiiiiiece!  I'm like a mother to heeeeeer!"  A mother.  There might be another word that's meant to go after that.  Or two.  Just saying.  Rogelio is surprised to hear that Miguel has a job…not that Rosaura cares enough about her nephew to know who he's working for, but she can sure find out quick if Rogelio wants!  She reminds him she's always been on his side, blah, blah, blah.  Rogelio has this fascinated look on his face, like he wonders just how far she'll go.  He laughs and finally says what he wants is not to have to listen to her!  He's sick of her and he won't change his mind.  And many of us share his sentiments!

Dany and Miguel continue their talk and now Hugo and Maria know they've been kicked out.  Dany says it's because they knew about Gustavo (worried look from Maria).  She's not too worried about it, though, since they were planning on getting married anyway.  Pobre de Hugo's heart is broken.  Maria advises Miguel to take good care of Dany and offers to keep them updated on how AP's doing.

Rosaura.  Crying.  Whining.  "Don't make me leeeeeeeave!  I'm siiiiiiiiick!"  Rog tells her to get some frickin' medical treatment already, if she's not faking.  Rosaura hurriedly agrees to get checked out by Ernesto.  Whatever, Rogelio still wants her gone.  She gets down on her tacky-lying-fake-ass knees and BEGS him to let her stay.  He gives a final "NO YOU TACKY BITCH" and tells her to get out before he loses patience.

Vanessa comes to AP's room to gloat about moving her office in, but AP says she doesn't care.  She stands her ground as lady of the house.  Vanessa changes her tune and says she thought she wanted AP gone, but now she'll enjoy watching Rog humiliate AP.  She shares the news that AP's family has been kicked out.

Ern lets Gustavo know that AP and the baby appear to be doing well, but that he's no longer her doctor.  She'll start getting medical treatment from a gynecologist instead of an orthopedic surgeon.  Not that I'm saying Ern isn't a decent doctor, just I don't think it's so weird to get a gyno involved at this point.

AP wonders why Vanessa enjoys her misfortunes so much.  Vanessa says she's just getting what she deserves.  "Everyone in town says you're a ho!"  Vanessa is looking forward to sopping up AP's leftovers once that damn contract is over.  AP plays the sister card, but Vanessa just says she never belonged in her life or Rogelio's.  Rosaura comes in and Vanessa says she'll leave them to their sad goodbye's.  Rosaura.  Crying.  Whining.  AP goes to talk to Rogelio as Rosaura carefully wipes her eyes and mentally pats herself on the back for choosing waterproof eye makeup while also wondering why she bothers wearing any at all since she keeps having to put those damn glycerin eye drops in so she can pretend she's crying cause we all know she has no actual tear ducts.

Gus calls Dany, but gets Rosaura instead.   She tells him he's ruining everything and if AP wants to talk to him, she'll call him herself.  Gus is beside himself with worry and frustration and the inability to adequately convey either of those emotions in a convincing manner!

Rog comments to Cinthia that he kicked out the family for knowing about Gus and woe betide anyone else who knew and didn't tell him (slight look of concern from Cinthia).  AP comes in and rather tiredly tells Rogelio he can't kick her family out.  Cinthia starts in on her and says she'll be next, but Rogelio corrects her.  AP is his wife and she's not leaving until he says so.  He asks Cinthia to leave so he and AP can discuss this ALONE (emphasis mine).  Rogelio reminds her the contract didn't include letting her family mooch.  But now, he doesn't want enemies under his own roof.  He says she ought to be grateful that he'll still let them visit.  If he wasn't doing this just to be a douche, I would say that's entirely fair.

Hugo shares his broken heart with Marcial and that other guy whose name I can't remember.  They see Rosaura come wandering out of the hacienda.  Crying.  Whining.  To herself.  She doesn't want to leave her hacieeeeeeenda!  It's heeeeeeeers!  It's so beauuuuuuutiful!  She starts praying for something to happen.  I wonder if she's gone round the bend, but when Maria comes up to her she pulls it together.  They have their usual lovefest and Maria says it's not like she does anything to take care of Paula anyway so she needs to just STFU.  "But I'm so saaaaaaad!"  AP comes over to report that she couldn't get Rog to change his mind, bringing on another bout of crying and whining and proving Maria right.  AP starts getting that queasy, tired look again. And Maria herds her back into the house.

Rosaura comes back to make another appeal to Rogelio.  She demonstrates her "loyalty" by telling him that Gustavo's been trying to call her niece on Dany's cell phone.  "Why do you have it?  Dany said she lost it."  Rosaura lies that she heard it ringing and answers it.  "See, I'm on your side!" Rog says even so, he won't let her stay.

AP is sad about Margarito, and now her family is leaving.  At least she still has Maria.  AP's happy she'll have her baby with her soon.  Maria misses Margarito too.  They decide to call him, but the realize the phones are cut off.  Rogelio comes in asking who she's going to call…her lovah?  Maria says they just wanted to call Margarito and shows him the card with the number written on it.  Rogelio admits he had the phone lines cut off.  First he says AP can just write to Margarito, but then he also adds that she can call from his cell phone.  AP is pissed that he's doing this when it's his fault they're not going to be able to adopt Margarito.  Rog says too bad and don't do anything stupid, cause he's got eyes all over this place.  He leaves and AP tells Maria she's not going to put up with this.  She hates the idea of having to live through hell in the next few months.  Maria thinks he'll calm down, but at the same time she feels terrible because he feels betrayed and she's one of the people who knew.  AP tells her not to tell him or he'll get even worse.  Especially since Maria is the only one he trusts.

Dany and Miguel come to say goodbye to AP.  She tells Miguel to please not start drinking again.  Miguel says they'll rent a place and AP asks them to find Gus.  AP is sure she'll be fine and Rog will chill out soon.  Miguel says they'll find Gus quickly and let him know she's fine.

Rogelio is going through the paperwork from Ernesto and he finds the letter from AP and reads it.  He doesn't tear it up, but he looks like he's trying not to let himself believe she meant it when she said she cared about him.

At the fonda, Gus tells Ern he's going to go get AP from the hacienda.  Miguel comes in and tells him AP wants him to chill out, AP and the baby are fine.  Miguel tells him he'll make things worse and Dany says he'll never even get in there.  Dany reminds him that any upset can make AP worse.

Rog heads down the hallway to AP while not one, but TWO snakes head for her as well.  She gets bitten and sees the snake and starts screaming for help.  Cinthia hears the screams and is beside herself with something that looks like sexual excitement.  She practically begs Efrain to go see the dead body already.  Efrain tells her to let the poison do its job.  "It will be suspicious if you show up right away!"  True dat.  It would be suspicious if AP were screaming for help and the first one who showed up was Cinthia.

AP continues gasping in pain.  Rog comes  in  and she ends up in his lap just panting and saying "help me."  Rog looks down and sees the snake, but he can't get the chair to move while he's holding AP at the same time.

Cinthia tells Efrain to leave so no one sees him.

Rog has gotten AP back into bed, but he's asking her to wake up.  He uses his belt to make a tourniquet and puts another pillow under her head.  He screams for Hugo and Maria to come help him in AP's room while Cinthia hangs out in her room confused that he got to AP so fast.

Maria comes in and Rog tells her what happened. She wants to call someone, but he tells her to get the antidote from the first aid kit.  He starts looking for the snake again.  Cinthia comes to see what happened and Rog waves her back, saying there's a coral snake in the room that bit AP.  He wants her to call Ern, but she reminds him that he cut off the phones.  Rog tells her to use her cell.  He misses Cinthia's crazy triumphant look as she takes her sweet time leaving.

Down in the kitchen, Efrain takes his sweet time getting the first aid kit when Maria runs in saying they need it because AP was bitten.

Cinthia takes her sweet time back in her room reveling in AP's imminent demise.  She slowly picks up her cell and then paces around a little.

Miguel and Dany come running in and Rog tells them to be careful, that there's a snake in the room.  Dany screams that they've got to call Ernesto.  Hugo comes in with Rog's cell phone.  Rosaura comes running in too, possibly legitimately confused, since she thought the snake had been caught.

Ernesto exclaims aloud on his end of the phone that AP was bitten by a snake.  Gus is just coming out of the kitchen and hears him.  Ernesto tells Rog that the antidote is also snake venom and it will be good for AP, but bad for the baby.  Gus starts crying.  Rog wants an explanation.  Ernesto says it has the opposite effect as it does in an adult.  Dany stares at the syringe in her hand and Rosaura hisses at her that her niece has to live.  Rog wants options, but Ernesto says there aren't any.  Gus takes the phone and yells at Rog not to kill his son.  Ern tells him if she doesn't get the antidote they'll both die.  Rog says Gus is the baby daddy and Gus tearfully says to save AP.  Rog takes the syringe from Dany and does the injection himself.

Down in the kitchen, Cinthia smirks to Efrain.  "Why so serious?"  Efrain tells her Maria came running for the first aid kit.  They both forgot that there was antidote in the first aid kit, so it was still there.  Cinthia calls him an idiot.  "All that work for nothing!"  Efrain thinks it's maybe better this way, but Cinthia says she needed to die along with her bastard.  "Of course, now everyone's with her, taking care of her.  Maybe it's not all lost.  There's been some time.  Maybe the antidote won't do any good.  It was long enough."  She nearly breaks her arm patting herself on the back and Efrain looks shocked at her big crazy grin.

By the next morning, AP and her suitors are in Tuxtla at the hospital.  Gus and Rog sit facing each other, but not looking at each other, in the waiting room.  Rog takes out AP's letter and rereads it.  He looks speculatively at Gus, then thought bubbles that if he'd let her leave, this wouldn't have happened.  Ernesto comes in to say she's undergoing some testing.  They don't know how long it took from the bite to the antidote.  They have to wait for her to wake up.  The gyno will give them details, but she'll need a procedure as the baby is, in fact, dead.  OK, yes, this is sad, but I'm distracted thinking that in this scene and the phone scene, Salinas sells it while Jose Ron just…well, I don't know whether to be embarrassed for him or…no, I'll just leave it at embarrassed for him.

Macaria drops off Maria's order from the store.  She hands the bill over to Efrain and says she hopes AP recovers.  Efrain grabs her for a quick smooch before she can leave.  She threatens to tell Rogelio about the letter if he doesn't get it back to her.

Ernesto hugs Gustavo, then leaves.  Gus tells Rog if he'd only let her leave this wouldn't have happened.  Rogelio says he's really sorry about the baby.  Gustavo wants to see her, but Ernesto says that's not possible right now.  The venom spread and she may end up in a coma.

Cinthia and Vanessa are furious that once again it's all about Paula, Paula, Paula!  Bruno comes in and he's also concerned about Paula.  He's going to Tuxtla to *cough* see if Rogelio needs anything.  Cinthia demands he keep them updated via cell phone, since the house phone has been cut off.  Vanessa is going to go see how the office move-in is going.  Cinthia hopes Bruno calls with good news, that Paula is dead.  Mercedes comes to tell them that AP survived.  Cinthia has to pretend she's happy to hear it, not that she's even remotely convincing..  She loses her shit when Mercedes tells her that Gus went to Tuxtla.

Gus and Rog give each other the stink eye in the waiting room.

Margarito has been waiting for his daily call from Rog, but neither she nor AP have called in days.  The counselor…why can I never remember her name?...says something must have happened, and not to think the worst before knowing what's really going on.  She offers to track them down.

Mercedes has to talk Cinthia down from being so pissed that Gustavo is with AP.  She then realizes Gus and Rogelio are together.

Maria says a rosary for AP and cries.  Efrain asks why.  Well, duh!  Maria says it's all so sad, she's praying that everything is fine and that Rogelio made the right decision.  But it's been so long and no one's called with an update.  She tells him she's going to her room and asks him to let her know if there's any news.

Ernesto comes back to the waiting room and says AP's still doing badly.  The venom is spreading, they're giving her blood, but all they can do is wait.  Ern says only 1 person can go in and only for a few minutes.  Way to start a brawl in the waiting room.

Tomorrow: Cinthia celebrates her victory with nookie; AP wakes up; Rog is sure AP will never leave him, because it's a matter of luuuuuuurve.

Seriously...if I were to have skipped this episode and watched tomorrow's would I even be the least bit lost? I might be curious about the "break-in" everyone's talking about, but that's about it.

Wait a minute, it's not the summary for 92 episode. This episode was yesterday.

Irene

Alas, Irene is right! Oh no, you recapped the wrong episode! I did enjoy your take on yesterday's episode, though.

And there was no break in. They made that up but I was never sure why.
Great rerun!

OMG I am reading this and thinking, I saw this before, but when and where and how did I know all the spanish. ROTF It is because I read the recaps of 92 yesterday ROTF

That's OK - super heavy drama and great visuals, but last night can be easily summarized:

Snake in bed bites Ana.  Rogelio finds her after reading her letter.  She gets antidote, but antidote bad for baby.  Goose and Ro-hell glare at each other for hours in hospital waiting room. Ana alive but might be in coma. Baby dead. Cinthia livid that Goose ran to hospital to be with Ana even though Mercedes points out it's his baby - so duh! Cinthia feels no remorse about killing the child of the man she so "lurves", she's livid that Ro-hell found AP in time to save her. Everyone hears the sad news.

Oh, I forgot the various extended begging scenes with Tia Rosaura in Rogelio's office (Tia does NOT want to leave!). They were hilarious, and I think Jorge Salinas really had a hard time keeping a straight face.

I kept hearing 5ft Latina saying "Tacky, Tacky!"

I'm so glad you all said it was the previous day's episode, I started reading it before I watched it and I thought, How come I know all this stuff already? She did say she had some wine before she recapped it, lol.

The break-in probably never happened, or if it did, it was staged. It was Vainessa's and Bruno's scheme as to why Vainessa needed to move her office somewhere "safe" - like at the hacienda, maybe, hint, hint? I guess that means the other office employees are let go? Or maybe they're still working there, only Vainessa needs to relocate LOL?

One thing that REALLY bugged me about the antidote use was the gratuitous bit "asking baby daddy permission". So, the choices are: Ana dies from venom, which kills baby, or antidote kills baby and maybe Ana lives. In other words: baby dies, or baby dies. Totally nonsensical - just put in to maximize drama. Great facial expressions from Jose Ron though and an excuse for Ro and Gus to "cooperate", if you can call it that.

Talking about this episode, i think I can say, that the conversation between Rog and Gus on the phone was great. As for me, Rogelio much more men then Gus. I know, he was the father, but how could he shout not to kill his baby? Did he thought Rogelio wanted to kill that baby? And what about AP? If Ernesto didn't say that she also could die, I think, Gus never realized that she is in danger.

Irene

Let's not forget Sinthia's rapture at seeing the Cupcake in danger. One would think she was being serenaded by Alejandro Fernandez.

Irene, Gustavo doesn't understand Rogelio at all except for the possible macho stuff. He probably thinks that no man would want to raise a child sired by another, especially when it results from adultery. He may not be well-schooled in history.

Always note that in any novela where there is that bogus medical crisis question "Should I save your wife or the baby?" the husband always says "Save my wife."

Somewhere in the next few episodes the following will have to happen:

-- Rogelio will have to wonder what took Sinthia so long to find her cell phone (that he didn't want her to have in the first place so why wasn't she wearing it?)
-- Gustavo will wonder where the hell those two snakes came from

I've already seen tonight's episode (won't be home, so I watched it online) and I will really enjoy taking care of the aftermath on Monday.

There's new music in tonight's episode and it's excellent.

Hm, I don't think, that Rogelio asked for permission. He's not so stupid to wait. I think, he gave Gustavo a chance to realize what is going on. It was his only option to be with AP and the baby in this moment inspite of the fact that they were too far.
But, gus even didn't say thank you to Rogelio, that he saved the life of the woman he loves. What a shame.

Irene

Yeah, Irene, that was all just silly drama: for Ernesto to say - wait, that'll kill the baby (which had Goose yelling "don't kill my baby!"), and then to say, but if you don't give the antidote, Ana will die along with baby; for Rogelio to even hesitate to talk to Goose on the phone; all extreme silliness. Gratuitous nonsense to maximize drama, but that's right out of the ole TN play book.

5ft. I don't know where we are, but this is a great title.

Oh, I also meant to add - I saw this week's episodes in the Dominican Republic the first week in March - so, does this give you some idea of the length of this novela?

@#$%@#$%@#$%@#$%@#$%!!!

Yes. Wine. Let's blame the wine. I had actual excitement to recap and I MISSED IT! Well, hell with this, maybe I'll just recap it anyway now that I'm conscious.

I can't blame the wine entirely. I have/had 2 sale dates for chocolates and it's a concert week so I have/had extra rehearsals. I came just shy of pulling all-nighters to make enough chocolates to put in boxes, hoping to entice people to buy boxes for Mother's Day.

OK, lemme get my coffee in and then watch an episode where something actually happens!

Morning 5ft! LOL! Welcome back! We all know what an incredibly hectic schedule you have. And wine is always a great excuse!

Yes, unlike in 91, a little something really did happen in episode 92 LOL!

Kat, too funny. Yep, wine will do it everytime.

There was some great acting last night. You felt the pain of both Rog and Gus.

When is someone, anyone, going to catch on to Sin, Vain and Brutus?

OT: Audrey, what are you cooking tomorrow?

Rosemary Primera

Hi Rosemary Primera. Did I say I was cooking something tomorrow? I'm planning to try to make cream of mushroom soup today. I love it but I never tried to make it before.

Audrey, tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and I thought for sure you had something special planned in the kitchen.

We went to a Tres de Mayo party last night to get in the mood for Saturday.

Rosemary Primera

It will still be a while before anyone catches them. I'm sure that Rutilio will eventually rat Bruno out and he will drag down all the villanas with him (Sinthia, Vainessa, and Tia MentiRosa). That's a guess, not a spoiler.

Audrey, good luck with the soup. Making soup from scratch is one of my favorite winter things. I'm going to make a Jello dessert since I won't be leaving the house for a while.

I want to read recap a lot.
As I said, Tia will live in hacienda forever. In "her" hacienda. It was so funny to watch her in this episode.

Oh right, Rosemary, I (momentarily) forgot tomorrow's auspicious date! There is some TV special from Puebla on Saturday - I might watch that.

I'm sitting here eating a slice of coconut tres leches cake that my husband made. Mmmmmmm! Does that count? LOL!

I made a huge meal of cochinita pibil a couple of weekends ago for friends. We ate off the leftovers for a week! I might be all cooked out for traditional Mexican food for a while, although I DID start researching pipián verde sauce... BTW - watching cooking videos on YouTube is pretty good for learning Spanish comprehension. I recently watched several from Guatemala and they spoke so much slower and smoother than the Mexicans!

OT-Audrey:

Of course, coconut tres leches counts but double since your husband made it. I think I will look for my Mexican chocolate cake recipe since you mentioned cake and of course Kat's marathon sessions with chocolate.

I love pumpkin seeds so I may be doing a little research myself and learning a little more Spanish.

I'm going to be out of town for the next week or so, where online can we watch these capitulos? YouTube? Other site? Wasn't there something called Daily Motion at one point?

Thanks for any help!

Belated thanks to UA and Audrey for your answers yesterday to my question about Vanessa's offer to do what it takes, including artificial insemination, to have Rogelio's child. And thanks, too, Audrey, for your succinct but helpful paragraph about Thursday's episode. I'm traveling now and so was unable to see that episode. I'll be depending on the recaps for the next week.

UA, I am SO jealous of your getting to see the entire Ring at the Met. My travels will even interfere with my seeing most of them "live in HD". Sigh.

I agree with all your points Audrey.

Did anyone else think that when Sin was saying that the venom needs to kill both AP and the baby that Effer was looking at her like "Oh my, you have gone over the edge to crazyville'? He seemed to be happy that just the baby was going to die, and couldn't believe Sin insisting that both need to die.

I was hoping that Rog could get Tia to confess some more things when she was saying she would be loyal to Rog. If he just prodded her a bit, I bet she would have ratted out Bruno.

Marcaria can tell Effer that if he doesn't give that letter to Rog, she will tell him herself that Effer has it. She needs to do that.

I agree about calling Gus about the options. There were no options. Either the baby dies or they both die. You chose. How ridiculous.

Melissa, check out this link.

Scroll to the bottom to find the next one.

Yep - that's what I use. Episodes are listed (in groups of 10) on the right hand side.

Macaria should tell Rogelio who -- in return -- should agree not to tell Ulisses about her adultery. This should happen yesterday, before someone else adopts Margarito. However my guess is that poor Margarito will have to wait another dozen episodes to get home.

Juanita, do you live in NYC? If so the Ring is being presented next season as well.

Thanks UA and Audrey! Also a big thanks to all the recappers! This novela has become a little crazy, but it's started to get more exciting and I don't want to miss anything.

Looking forward to reading your recap for Cap 92, Kat! LOL on the wine.

I agree with everyone, that "calling the baby daddy to see if it's okay to not let Cupcake die" was LAME. LAAAAAAAMMMMMMME LAME LAME LAME. I agree it was to increase the drama (as everyone has pointed out) and also to show that Rohell, who has been such a douche lately, isn't 100% douche all the time. We needed a break from his non-stop douchbaggery. And also, it was to show how much the Goosestavito LUURRRRVED that baby. What a guy. Anyway.

Compare Rohell's reaction to his sister Sinthia, who is hoping that the baby AND Cupcake die. I think Effer was really ill over how crazy she's become, but hey, he doesn't distance himself from her, so . . .

Hey everybody! Hope you all are enjoying the TN. Just wanted to stop by and ask if anyone has any news on when the new Lucero and/or Silvia Navarro TNs will be shown in the US.

Robey

Aaaaand it's up!

Kat: Thank you for the excellent dual recaps. I howled at: "Vanessa is looking forward to sopping up AP's leftovers once that damn contract is over". Perfect!

The loss of the baby is yet one more sad event in this tangled web of bitterness, betrayal, anger and confusion. the healing process can't begin quickly enough.

I think Efrain is beginning to see Sinthia's true crazy. It's a pity Maria hasn't yet.

I'm starting to wonder whether Sinthia will be nuts enough to tell Vainessa about the snakes and how Vainessa would take it. Thus far she hasn't shown any bloodlust, but that could begin any minute now.

I keep expecting some divine entity to strike Rosaura dead, but we're stuck with her until the end.

Kat, thanks for the double header. You are great!

Rosemary Primera

I'm starting to think that Efrain will feel so badly about the death of the baby that he might give up the letter inorder for Margarito to come home.

so sad episode and so funny recap. Thanks.
I can't watch the next episode. There will be so many tears. I really shocked, that producers killed the baby this way. Shame on me, as I never wanted this baby be born. But this way. No, it's so tragic. And poor AP and Rogelio when they will find out, that it was all about Sin.
But i know, that soon we'll see the rainbow.

Irene

Thank you! Thank you! for the double work. What a trooper! and when you are exhausted. Really appreciate all that work. Relax over the weekend.

I didn't think it was so ridiculous for Rog to give Gus the choice, simply because in that moment most people in Gus' position would be in a bit of a panic or shock. The choice isn't something that wouldn't have been in an episode of House or ER.

It's only human nature to want both the baby and the mother to come out unharmed and even though it's a very remote chance that can happen, someone in Rog's position, would probably think the chance needs to be taken.

If the hospital called me up and said my wife was injured badly and they think that aborting her baby would be better give her a very significant increase in the chance she might live, I'd be heartbroken. This assumes she can't make the decision herself. I'd have to consent to the abortion and apart from legal reasons, my getting to choose reconciles me to certain facts, or at least the doctors would think so.

Rogelio knew what needed to be done, but he also knew that--contrary to what he claims--he is not as emotionally invested in the baby, and that it is not his own. If Gus said no, I am sure Rog would have ignored him. But, he still knew that he had to give Gus the chance to choose the right thing to do.

People in a crisis often do not think straight, so I find it plausible that Gus would be given a choice even though there is only one choice to make.

It was a good episode. Jose Ron isn't a very good actor, at least if his acting in LQNPA is the criterion, but he finally showed some real passion, whereas before he just used to huff and puff.

I wonder what will happen to Gus. Perhaps he turns to the dark side, so to speak, wanting to destroy Rog like David and Bruno wanted to do. I exclude Vanessa because I just find her somewhat incompetent and her passion for Rog's destruction is based on a flimsy reason, whereas Bruno has been holding this grudge his entire life; it's Bruno's reason for living.

Now, Gus has a reason to destroy Rog. He knows about water; maybe he'll use that knowledge in a way that David couldn't. I don't know how that could be but maybe it could be.

Or maybe he decides to marry Cinthia, just as a ploy to have Cinthia get her half of the ranch. He can just tell her that he still loves Paula, and the marriage won't last, but at least it hurts Rog and helps her.

If Rog can have a contract with AP, why can't Gus have one with Cinthia. What's good for the goose is good for the gander maybe.

Anyway, in an earlier post, I said this was my first TN. I think I'm going to buy a college textbook on eBay and really start learning the language.

David, I think you are misunderstanding the choice offered. There was never a chance that the baby could live. If they didn't give AP the antivenom, then both will die. If they give the antivenom, then AP could live but it will kill the baby.
I don't believe Gus has it in him to destroy anyone. He's just not that kind of person, as is AP.

I think the same way as David. As I said, Rog didn't give him a choice, because he would give the antidote anyway. But Gus is the father and it was his moment to realize, that he need to say the last goodbye to his baby and his dreams about it. It's a shame that Gus didn't understand what Rogelio did. He saved AP life. He forgot about his jealousy and allowed Gus to be there. Without help of Rogelio Gus couldn't get to the hospital so quickly. And what did Gus? He blamed Rog.
i know that Rogelio is not the good boy. But he never said he is. And Gus always said that he is good and honest. Really? So, his way to be a good boy - is blame everyone in the world for his problems.

awesome job on the recap, seriously there are too many funny things to quote! esp loved all the parts about la tia, i swear that lady gets on my last nerve

jlk

Yay! That was awesome, Kat, and well worth the wait. Thanks for being such a trooper. I especially loved " "I'm like a mother to heeeeeer!" A mother. There might be another word that's meant to go after that. Or two. Just saying. " ROTFLOL!

David - glad you are so motivated.

Do you know our sometime commenter GatoViejo is maintaining a web page with both the Spanish and English captions for this series? It really helps if you you record it, but even if you only saw the episode when broadcast, you can probably follow the caption feed: http://users.frii.com/markzimm/lqnpa/

You might consider the "Practice Makes Perfect" Spanish series of workbooks. The vocabulary book covers some basic grammar - enough to get started. Then there is a more complete Spanish grammar one.

David - lots of free resources on the internet too, and many have audio recordings. I really like the spanish.about.com website and use it as a reference a lot. They have a getting started guide for beginners that gives a "syllabus" and links relevant articles: http://spanish.about.com/od/tipsforlearningspanish/u/start.htm

Well, Miguel seems to be growing up a little bit finally. At least he was realistic about leaving and starting a regular life with Dani.

Hugo was very sad about the engagement but at least he isn't likely to kill anyone.

I pretty much continue to hate everyone...Cin (even though she is probably certifiable) EF (although he didn't seem all that proud of himself - I mean, really, two snakes?), Vanessa (who is just plain mean), Tia (nothing more to say there) and I could go on.

The next few nights will be hard to watch and since this is Friday, they will leave us hanging tonight. I could do with a little less Gus.

Marti

Thank you Kat, you went above and beyond. Two recaps in one day! You are awesome. Loved all your snark!

One thing I noted was that when Rog was rolling down the hallway towards Cupcake's room (right before she got bit) he was holding the letter. I think he was going to ask her about it, possibly so he could fold like a cheap deck of cards (my new favorite catchphrase) and make up. He soooo wants to forgive her and get her back, it's obvious. He's battling between his bitter douchebagginess and his besotted lovesickness.

Kat, I think I lu-u-u-r-v-e you. With all you have to do, you just jumped right in and cranked out the best possible recap for an action-packed epi.. Words fail me, but "...cause we all know she has no actual tear ducts." was spot on. I am well-acquainted with that wine thing. Lately, I've had more work than I know what to do with and the wine thing when I get home after too many hours of intense attention to somebody else's details is the way to shift gears. Let's hope things calm down a bit; but kudos to you and all your fine efforts.

David, welcome. I like your thoughtful comments. I'm also here to learn Spanish and it's really working. Being a perfectionist, I get tongue-tied when I actually have to engage in conversation, but this morning, I asked the crossing guard about her daughter and had a nice sociable exchange in Spanish while waiting to get through the traffic on my bike. Problem is, most people want to come back at you in English! Persistence pays.

Awesome recap 5ft. Cinthia is so digusting the way she gloated over AP's impending demise after she was bitten by the snake. At least, Rog showed up when he did although he he hadn't had the phone lines cut in the first place they could have gotten AP medical help sooner. Too bad the baby was lost.

It looked as though Efrain felt a bit of guilt for his part in the attempted murder of AP and I think he's realizing that Cinthia is becoming more unhinged.

This is so funny, 5ft! I loved your first recap, actually, also. This story needs some oxygen, and you gave it1

David, Destinos is a very good start. You can play each episode as many times as you want. It's got a lot of vocabulary of day to day life.

After watching this twice I was able to converse and to watch novelas (but I add vocab all the time).

Hi Elvira - yes, Rogelio was on his way to talk to AP about that letter, and it looked like he had already had a change of heart.

LXV - that's cool about chatting in Spanish. I'm curious: where do you live that you can have a passing conversation with a Spanish speaker? I live in a bilingual community, but I think there are only pockets in the US that are truly like that. I look so "gringa" that people sometimes have trouble replying to me in English, but as you say - persistence pays!
