The Well
Worn Hospital Waiting Room: El
Malquerida group is at the hospital waiting room, Agustina, Viv, Rafa, Dan and
Isa. The police commander has told the group that AlLocoLonso has been
found. But, he has been found after an auto accident that left his car at the
bottom of a cliff and he wasn’t alone. He
was with a Senorita Ximena Diaz….. One
of the two was burned to death in the car and one was thrown from the car. No puede ser! Agustina gets hysterical and
cries to know what has happened to her hija.
All eyes are on the police commander del pueblo.
New News del
Pueblo:
Hospital
Waiting Room: The police commander
announces that, sadly, it was Senorita Ximena Diaz who died in the accident. There is no question about it. Agustina faints in her anguish and she is
carried over to the nearby seats and they call for a doctor to attend to her. Rafa asks Dan how he is with this news, considering
that Ximena was his sister. Dan replies
he is okay yet burning to death is something that no one deserves to have
happen to them. Isa cries fake tears for
news about her son. The police
commander says Al is in grave condition and in emergency surgery. Isa wants to see him, but the commander
explains Al is unconscious and if he survives the surgery, he will not be able
to see anyone, not even mumsy as he is being detained in isolation. Isa protests and Dan steps in to reinforce
what the commander said to Isa. She
complains of Dan’s cruelty towards her and Dan is unmoved. Dan says he does not trust her or her
son. Isa fires back that Ximena was involved
and likely provoked Al into participating in the kidnapping. Dan reminds Isa that Al is not a child and is
guilty of participating with Ximena nonetheless. Since Al survived the accident the police will
investigate to find out what really happened.
Isa slinks away to plot her next step.
The commander also reminds Dan that he needs to come down to
the police station and make a statement regarding what happened with LeoSordido
Martinez (I think this was the conversation).
The police have never gotten his statement since Dan escaped from the hospital
first. Dan gives the commander his word that he will come down to the station
to clear things up.
Emergency
Room Entrance: AlLocoLonso is lying on
the gurney with a neck brace and is being rushed to emergency surgery. The
attending medical staff read off a few vitals: “Alonso Lazcano, 34, weak vital
signs, auto accident and delicate condition”.
The medical staff roll him onto the table on his stomach with less than
gentle care!
Hospital
Waiting Room: Viv comforts Agustina
while the commander tells Dan that Camila will need to make a visit to the town
morgue and identify the body of the guy who kidnapped her and then fell into the bullpen. Dan agrees to take her there himself. New Age
Aaron wonders how one sister could have done this to the other sister after
living all their life together. Rafa
adds that Agustina is emotionally destroyed by the news. Isa passes by Dan on her way out and hisses
at him that someday he will have children of his own and she hopes that he
doesn’t have to go through the pain of not being able to see them if they are
about to die.
Dio’s
Hospital Room: Dio is thought bubbling
his recent nightmare - not the bull accident – when he saw Daniel kissing
Camila as she is rolled into the hospital.
He thinks aloud that Dan and Camila must never be happy together and
that he will never permit it. Dio
writhes in the pain of his unrequited love for his secret fantasy girl Camila.
How he desires her and thinks of only her when he is with anyone else. He will take his time in making Camila his and his alone, with no hurry. He remembers the old saying
that he who laughs last, laughs best. “Asi sera!” he assures himself.
El Hostel: Lic Osvaldo reports to Amanda that Camila and
Dio are safe. Amanda wishes that Dio had
been left as a field floor mat for the bulls rather than have made it out
safely. Lic Osvaldo reminds her that it
is because of Dio that Camila is alive.
Amanda is sure he only did it because there was something in it for him. Lic Osvaldo agrees but says they have no
proof yet. He mentions that he had come
to see Amanda earlier, but Nat told him she was “indisposed”. Amanda admits that she and Nat are not
speaking. She explains that she told Nat
that her father is alive and not the nice guy she told Nat he was. Nat is furious. Amanda adds that she did not tell Nat who he
is, but that she regrets having kept this secret all these years. Osvaldo adds the “I told you so” and says
that this is why he advised Amanda not to say anything to Nat about her father
until the gumshoe group had proof about his nefarious ways. Amanda is telling Lic Osvaldo that Dio came
to visit her and threatened her. He told
her she is being watched and she is very nervous.
Dio’s
Hospital Room: Dio is having a hissy fit.
He wants to know how long he will be there and no one is being
helpful. Agustina comes in sobbing. Dio asks her why she is crying like that. Now
alarmed he asks, “Did something happen to Camila?”. No, but she says she can barely tell him. She tells him Ximena has died and Al is in grave condition. Dio, looking ever so slightly impactada , begrudgingly reaches over to hold Agustina
while she cries. He sighs as he thinks,
no puede ser!
El Hostel: Lic Osvaldo wonders why Amanda has not told
him all of this. Amanda replies that no
one can do anything to Dio. Lic Osvaldo tell her that she cannot live this way. Lic tells her that he promises to find a
solution to help her so she will not be alone.
Amanda worries about Lic Osvaldo’s safety should he take try to help
her. She wisely worries that he might
pay for his help with his well-being and she could not live with the
guilt. Amanda wants to just disappear with
Nat as she did so many years ago. Lic
Osvaldo begs Amanda once again, to let
him help her. He promises that he will plan everything and that all three of
them will go away like a family. Amanda
ponders the offers…… OK, I accept, Amanda tells him.
Camila’s
Hospital Room: Dan comes to see Camila,
entering the room with hang dog face.
Camila asks him what is wrong. He
reports that Al has been found and that he was with Ximena. He explains that it appears they were
accomplices in her kidnapping. Camila
cannot believe this and wants to find Ximena to ask her, personally, what
happened. Dan tells her this is not
possible because Ximena died in the accident.
Camila is in disbelief. No puede
ser!
Funeral Room
for Goodbyes to Ximena: Piedad, Pablo
and Luzma stand in one corner observing how fast things in life can change from
one day to another. Father Franky
arrives, sees Agustina seated against the wall and sits next to her. He tries to comfort her and put his arm
around her. She looks at whose arm it is
and brushes him off with disdain. Camila
arrives to comfort her mother. Father
Franky pulls Dan aside and insists Dan avenge his sister Ximena’s death. Dan corrects him, saying he will not seek
vengeance, but rather, justice. Father
Franky says Al is responsible for all of this, that Ximena was likely just an honest
dupe who he manipulated and that it is Al who should be dead in place of
Ximena. Dan, incredulous, asks Father
Franky if he is really sad that Ximena is dead after having abandoned her so
many years ago? Father Franky is
offended at his question and says the pair of them grew soooo close during the
days they lived together at the ranch.
Dan replies that if this is indeed true, how nice for Father Franky that
his conscience is just a little cleaner.
Yago arrives to give condolences to Camila, offer workers to help with the ranch
and beg forgiveness that Mariano could attend. Amanda asks Nat if it is hard to be here in
the same place with Yago. Nat assures
Amanda that she is just fine. Yago
approaches Pablo and asks about Pablo’s pending nuptials. Yago wonders if all the dropping anvils are a
sign that maybe Pablo should not get married.
Pablo, ever wise, says that even if luck is not on their side right now,
this does not mean it is a sign to not proceed to marry Luzma. He suggests Yago doesn’t understand this
because Pogostick Yago has never been in love.
Pablo adds that Yago should stop giving little looks and chasing after
Nat and leave Nat in peace.
Kitchen at
La Casa Albarran: Bratgirl is lamenting about what a shame it is what happened
over at La Malquerida. She is sorry she could
not go to the service at La Malquerida and express her sympathies. Refugio wonders why Bratgirl is saying this as she has never been
close to the Monterde family members. Refugio
excuses herself and Bratgirl chews on a tostada while she complains about “esa
gata” Refugio and wonders how to get in touch with Rodolfo.
Random Room
at La Casa Albarran: Rocio asks Cayetano
why he has had to go to the hospital to comfort Isadora instead of going to La
Malquerida to comfort Agustina? Cayetano
replies that Agustina has plenty of people all around her,but poor Isa is
allllll alone and being blamed for that crazy son of hers’ actions. Isa needs support. Rocio wonders why Cayetano feels the need to
be the one to give Isa this support? “It
doesn’t cost me anything”, he replies.
Rocio insists on accompanying him to the hospital. Cayetano refuses her request saying that
caring cannot be forced. Rocio complains
that she cannot go to La Malquerida alone and face “esa muchachita Luzma” with
Pablo all by herself. Cayetano tells her
to do whatever she wants and leaves for the hospital.
Al’s
Hospital Room: The nurse is dozing in a
chair when another nurse comes in to relieve her. Chayo, our sleeping nurse, is told by the
other nurse that she needs to take a break and eat and rest. Chayo resists this. The other nurse insists and Chayo relents;
not before saying she needs to attend to one more thing with patient
Alonso. The other nurse agrees and
leaves Chayo to attend to Al. Isa
attempts to barge into Al’s room but much to viewerville’s delight the guard is
strong enough and clever enough to refuse to heed her pleadings and lies. Isa is left to look in the window at the
unconscious Al. She and nurse Chayo lock
eyes with one another.
Dio’s
Hospital Room: Dio asks his nurse to
find Senora Lazcano for him. He
describes her to the nurse who agrees to search for her. He asks the nurse to bring him his wallet so
that he can pay her for this service. While
she is distracted, he grabs a sharp medical instrument and hides it in his
blanket.
Funeral Room
for Goodbyes to Ximena: Padre Anselmo says
a blessing for Ximena. Rodolfo and
Eleuterio pass by Dan and give him their condolences as El Patron. Dan tells them he is no longer the owner of
La Malquerida but will do whatever is necessary to recover the ranch to Camila,
the rightful owner. Dan tries to keep
the ranchhands from calling him Ud. He wants
them to see him as equal to one another.
Eleuterio seems quicker to accept the request. Rodolfo is not as quick to do so. He tells Daniel he has never been “one of the
ranchhands” but hope that Dan will regain ownership of the ranch. Agustina continues to be weak-kneed and emotionally fragile. She tells Camila she cannot go on. Camila tells her that she still needs Agustina. Agustina says none of this would have happened if Dan had not returned. Camila tells her that it is not Dan's fault and that Ximena was the one who chose her own path. Agustina is indignant that Camila would talk about her own sister like this after her death. Camila tells Agustina that it was Al and Ximena that kidnapped her and wanted her dead. Agustina seems unwilling to consider this truth.
Dio’s
Hospital Room: Isa comes to visit Dio
with a grin. She leans in to greet him ……
and… he grabs her by the collar and sticks a sharp medical instrument against
her throat! “Don’t treat me like a fool!”
he snarls at her. He accuses her of
trying to do him in along with Camila.
If it hadn’t been for Mariano, they both would have been floor mats for
the bulls, he says. Isa protests and tells
him that was never her intention. She
squirms to have Dio let go of her while she explains she would miss Dio and that Dio is the one who has
the business contacts and she could not negotiate with the tourist development
partners without him. As Isa lies
through her teeth, Dio lets her go. She goes on to tell him that it was Ximena and
Bruno who were responsible for what happened to Dio and Camila. Ximena and Bruno double-crossed
everyone. “Bruno?” Dio loses it at the mention of his name. He yells at Isa for her stupidity in letting
Ximena use Bruno because everyone knows that Bruno worked for Dio and now they will
link Dio to the kidnapping. Isa claims
ignorance as to who Ximena made the deal with to kidnap Camila. Dio is fed up with Isa’s stupidity but she
reassures him that everyone knows Ximena had dealings with Bruno and Ximena
cannot contradict the charges of her involvement because she is dead. Not only
that, but Al will not be alive long enough to talk either. She purrs to Dio that very shortly, she and
Dio will be the immensely rich owners of La Malquerida.
Funeral Room
for Goodbyes to Ximena: Dan thought
bubbles his concern for Camila and his commitment to see that she is always
protect her – even with his own life.
Sigh!
Dio’s
Hospital Room: Dio’s confrontation with Isa continues. He is not sure about all that she is saying
to reassure him. It is not as easy as
she thinks, Dio says. He points out that
she is the one who looks innocent at this point. Que? Isa wonders how Dio could say this after
being considered a hero in both Agustina and Camila’s eyes for having rescued
Camila. Dio disagrees saying that 1.) Camila
is still suspicious because of the letter that her uncle Daniel wrote accusing
him of being in cahoots with Al as well as 2.) Camila being influenced by Dan
who doesn’t trust Dio as well as 3.) Al
still being alive to spill the frijoles.
Isa says she did not know about this letter from Uncle Dan and where Al
is concerned, she will take care of it.
With a glimmer in her eye, she assures Dio that Al will not live to walk
out of the hospital. Dio studies Isa,
incredulous, and says that at times she does not seem human , even towards her
own son. Isa impatiently reminds Dio
that they agreed to do whatever it takes to complete their plan to obtain La Malquerida
and that is just what she is doing. “We
are in this together, don’t forget it!” she tells him. He repeats the same admonition, in turn, to
Isa.
Ximena’s Cemetery
Service: Padre Anselmo pronounces that Ximena is now in front of the ultimate
judge, God himself, her Father in the Sky.
Only He can judge the steps she chose to take while she was on this
earth. Agustina thought bubbles her
recent memories of interactions with Ximena.
She wonders why she remembers the unpleasant interactions with Ximena rather
than happier ones. Agustina regrets that
she and Ximena did not spend their time together living happier moments.
Random Room
at La Casa Albarran: Rocio is asking Nana to help her investigate who “this
Isadora Lazcano”really is. Nana asks how
she is to do this? Rocio suggests she go
to the mercado and ask everyone who provides services to La Malquerida about
Isa: what about her emotional life, sentimental life, her family and her
finances. Refugio is resisting because
she detests being a chismosa. Rocio explains the need for this
information: wives have a sixth sense
about funny hubby behaviors so Rocio wants to get to the bottom of this where
Cayetano and Isa are concerned. Nana
relents and agrees to snoop around.
Ximena’s Cemetery
Service: Back at the interment, Dan thought bubbles about the now deceased
Ximena. He remembers her observation
about their similar scars. He reflects
that he never knew Ximena even though they have the same blood and that this was
a shame. Camila thought bubbles about why
Ximena lived as she did. She reflects
that Ximena had every reason to be happy: looks, smarts and thigh high
boots. Camila wonders to the Good Father
on High why this had to happen?
Hospital
Waiting Room: Cayetano arrives in the
hospital waiting room. Isa approaches
and wonders why he is there. He says he is there looking for her. “Little old me?” Isa says, batting her
eyelashes. Yes, Cayetano explains he is
here to provide comfort to her in her hour of need, as Isa is allllll alone and
needs protection. Isa is touched to have
met Cayetano who is such a perceptive and sensitive man. She is pleased as Cayetano gives her a
comfort hug. Viewerville shudders as Isa
carefully winds her web around Cayetano and the camera freezes on her
self-satisfied face nestled in Cayetano’s arms.
Avances: Isa learns AlLocoLonso can talk. She vows to keep him from spilling the
frijoles. Isa sets out to hire an “angel
of mercy” to commit the murder for her.
Happy Holidays to Caray friends and lurkers. Mena
ReplyDeleteI wanted to get the recIap up quickly and I have been busy this week like many of you. There is some interesting vocabulary that I will add in when I have a chance.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mena.
ReplyDeleteApart from Isadora, Desalmada (oh, for want of more Mujeres Asesinas jokes) I've been away from this show long enough that two things are alien to me:
1. When did Dionisio get all obsessive over Camila?
2. Who's the third guy who makes up the Overly Mexican Brothers 2.0 group with Pablo and, I think, Yago? (It was a scene at Amanda's in Tuesday's episode that did it.)
Mena- What a great recap on a not so fun episode-- Ximena's wake and then her funeral. How sad that no one could come up with any happy memories of her, except for FX and his fake happy memories. Guest was also being delusional and I'm glad Cam set her straight and told her not to try to make Xi a saint now that she's dead.
ReplyDeleteDio is an idiot if he believes anything that Isa says, but their scenes in the hospital were the best part of the episode. Dio hit the nail on the head-- Isa isn't human.
Hey Bill! I'm not sure which guy you saw at the hostel the other day. It wouldn't have been Iago because although he is secretly dating Natalia, he has never set foot in hostel. His younger brother Pablo is now living there, as he left home since his parents won't accept Luzma. Dan is often at the hostel and so are Rafael and his brother Aaron, who up till now has been playing the role as Daniel. At the MQ ranch the is Rodolfo and Elueterio, who were speaking to Dan at the wake. Other than that there's Mariano, the oldest Albarran brother. Not sure what other man you might not be recognizing. As for Dio's obsession with Cam-- that started when he met her on her wedding day to Al. He started out joking to Al that he just might steal her away from Al. Then when Al had his problems in the bedroom, Dio joked that he would be better at the job. Al was not amused and often told Dio to stay the hell away from Cam. Instead Dio found more reasons to be around Cam, even marrying her mother to be close to her. The more Cam has pulled away from him, the more distrustful she is of him, the more involved with Dan she gets, the more his obsession grows.
That's Gussy not guest. Stupid auto correct!
ReplyDeleteSo did no one else figure out who Chayo was as soon as they said her name in the emergency room and reacted to hearing Al's name and age? If it wasn't obvious to anyone else, I'm not going to talk about it, but it was clearly the big thing that happened this episode.
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it, Vivi: I missed the initial reaction shot, but I was wondering why that seemingly insignificant nurse had been given a name. Let alone a second reaction shot at the end of the episode. And since it is (would be?) one of the dearest of all novela cliches...oh yes, I can definitely see it happening.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dionisio--yeah, I forgot about the cracks he made a while back about stealing Camila from Alonso, but I blew them off figuring he was mostly focused on La Malquerida and just keeping his pimp hand strong. I had no idea he was actually going to go Humbert Humbert on suckers...
Mena, thanks for the great recap.
ReplyDeleteSo sad, but so glad Xi is dead. She was becoming as obnoxious as her mother. She really didn't deserve such a nice funeral.
Vivi, yes, I caught the Chayo connection! Will she be the one that Isa tries to bribe to kill off Al once and for all?
Rosemary Primera
So is Chayo a nickname for Rosario?
ReplyDeleteAudrey- Yes. In fact when Salomon told Al he said her name is Rosario Sanchez, but everyone called her Chayo.
ReplyDeleteBill- Dio is mostly focused on MQ, but Cam runs a close second these days. I think that's mostly fuelled by a sense of manly competition with Dan/Andres. Winning over his daughter Nat and getting back at Amanda is running in third place, but also pretty close. I think that's why Isa is more effective. She's single minded, while Dio is getting all his priorities and desires muddled.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Mena. This episode definitely is turning a corner in the story. Vivi, I also noticed that (as well as recognized the actress).
ReplyDeleteThe hospital room scene was the best thing in this episode. El Diablo doesn't buy any of Hissadora's BS. His recognition that she isn't human is perfectly on the dinero; he is The Devil, of course. The scene played out perfectly with both of them hiding their poker hands.
But why would that nurse have a scalpel or anything similar on the tray?
It's interesting that nobody had any positive memories of Ximeana at her funeral, not even her mother. Most women in her situation would remember the child, the tween, etc., but that would have necessitated two new actresses to play them in the flashbacks.
Gracia Mena! I started to wonder when Chayo didn't jump at the chance to go to the cafeteria when the relief nurse stepped in. It became pretty clear who she was as she tended to her hijo. And also very clear that she knows who Isadora is. With a real mother's love, she could put be a tough adversary to Isadora's evil intent.
ReplyDeleteUrban- Yes. I actually recognized the actress last episode. She's pretty well known and was last in Llena de Amor. The camera lingered on her twice- once as she walked down the hallway and once in the cafeteria before the camera moved on to Isa and Caye. It made me raise in eyebrow, but then it became Crystal clear this episode.
ReplyDeleteI don't see why they couldn't find a teen actress for a one off happy flashback of Xi. They've used plenty of actors for these kind of flashbacks and pics in this tn so far. I think the bad memories and the recent bitchiness of Xi is still too fresh to forget, even for Gussy.
OOhh, I didn't notice the Chayo character in the previous episode. I just thought she was a sleepy night nurse and couldn't figure out why she wanted to stay on duty. Thanks for the reminder that we had already learned her name. Vivi, you have a mind like a steel trap for details. This is so-o-o "telenovela" to have a birth parent suddenly appear at a critical juncture. Also, the bludgeon that Dio was flashing around looked more like a paper opener or a steak knife from the dinner tray than a surgical instrument. I kept hoping he would really do it, but knowing that Isa has to hang in to the bitter end, I knew it wasn't meant to be.
ReplyDeleteI knew who Chayo was right away. She just had to show up eventually. I figured Alonso would go look for her, that is, if he avoided prison. The way that she and Isadora looked at each other confirmed it.
ReplyDeleteI think what Dio had were bandage cutting scissors. They were next to bandages on the tray table.
ReplyDeleteMena, thanks very much for the great recap. I love your snark and especially chuckled over "Pogostick Yago" and "Ximena had every reason to be happy: looks, smarts and thigh high boots."
ReplyDeleteI was exhausted by the time the TN came on last night, so even though I watched it, I very much needed your recap for all the details and conversation that went right by me. Perhaps that's why I totally missed the significance of Chayo. Thanks very much, Vivi, for clueing me in. Especially in light of who Chayo is, tonight's episode should thus be very interesing!
Needless to say, "interesing" should have been "interesting." If I didn't have to deal with the "prove you're not a robot," I'd always Preview first, but... Oh well....
ReplyDeleteVivi, as long as I'm writing again, I just want to second what lxv said about your amazing memory for the TN details. I've been in awe over and over again.
Mena - Thanks. Fine recap.
ReplyDeleteThe cutest scene Xi had in the TN was when she and Camila were in sync sitting side by side on the couch castigating Gussie for her foolish Las Vegas marriage to Dio, but that's a bad memory for Gussie too. Gussie's silly, but I feel so sorry for her. Now she will cling to Dio even more.
Expecting great scenes between Chayo and Al. He's been aching for true uncondicional love from someone and it looks like finally, at 34, he'll get the mothering he's needed.
Chayo must have a tough spine to go from a poor house servant girl impregnated and having her baby snatched away by her ancient boss to become a nurse. Hope she can keep her wits with Hissadora.
When Isa told Daniel she hopes when he has a child he'll be able to see them before they die, he should have said "Maybe I could've seen my child before he died if Dionisio's hitman hadn't killed my pregnant wife first."
ReplyDeleteAlonso may be able to stay alive a little bit longer with Chayo on the scene watching over him.
Augustina still continues to be stuck on stupid. Sorry lady, but anytime you have a child that decides purposely to have an affair with your other child's husband, and you're more mad at the other child for taking up with a choffer, you are really really dumb, for real. Because sleeping with the choffer is much worse than sleeping with your sister's husband.
Dionisio could have come out and said Guess What Lady? I'm a Bad Guy and Augustina STILL wouldn't believe Dionisio was bad.
Before doing the post-mortem with Flaco and reading the recap and comments, I'd like to say welcome to Samantha Jean.
ReplyDeleteNanette
Mena, thanks in advance for a recap that I can't wait to get back to after a couple dire errands. I did read the comments and am relieved that bit by bit hint by hint I was able to figure out who Chayo was. I know we don't like spoilers here but if something is mentioned even ever so subtly I don't think it would be considered a spoiler for those who recognized it to share it with the rest of us. My mind had already drawn an entirely different/false conclusion. I knew it was odd for the nurse to be sleeping on duty, wondered why the nurse who caught her supported her instead of reprimanding her. I assumed she was a bad nurse so when she was standing near the IV I thought she was going to inject something in it to kill the patient. Especially after this was later reinforced by Isa telling Dio that Alonso was not going to leave the hospital alive.
ReplyDeleteMore later after I read the recap!!
Foxy I didn't get into that storyline for the reason you mention. Some viewers may prefer the story to play out on its own.
ReplyDeleteanon207, LOL! That is a great response to Isa's snippy fake sorrow with DAN!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIt's all speculation at this point, but since we were already told her name many episodes back (and if a name is mentioned you know it's going to be important later), it seemed pretty obvious to me.
ReplyDeleteGeeez, I am working on an iPad and it went wacko - deleting the second copy of the post above! I forgot one more comment to Anon 207 who is on a clever roll in comments today... I completely agree and luvv the comment that "Agustina is stuck on stupid"! I don't have much empathy for the character at this point besides being a parent who lost a child.
ReplyDeleteThat is sympathy, not empathy as I have never faced a similar tragedy, thankfully!
ReplyDeleteMena, thank you for refraining from speculation about Chayo. It made for a really good read. But commenters have been putting forth suppositions and wild guesses since this blog started. It's not at all the same as posting a spoiler. I assume everyone will play fair and NOT spoil, because it keeps a sharp edge on the anticipation. I don't even like it when people disclaim "not a spoiler" because it makes me wonder if they've seen the episode already and are just couching their foreknowledge in speculatory phrases. But when the drama is dropping clues left, right and center, it's fun to play the guessing game.
ReplyDeleteI was of the same mind as Foxy for a while, but the acting persuaded me otherwise. What I saw was a mother's devotion and defiance, not the wiles of a hench(wo)man. Can't wait til tonight.
"What I saw was a mother's devotion and defiance, not the wiles of a hench(wo)man."
ReplyDeleteYep. As soon as they dropped Al on the operating table and said his name, tears sprang up in Chayo's eyes. Then she spent all night watching over him in his room. If that's not proof of a mother's love, then the writers really have something out of left field planned.
Thanks Mena. Loved the recap.
ReplyDeleteThe Dio holding a sharp instrument to Isa’s throat would have been more effective if we saw a little blood trickle down her neck.
Niece: “Expecting great scenes between Chayo and Al. He's been aching for true uncondicional love from someone and it looks like finally, at 34, he'll get the mothering he's needed.
Chayo must have a tough spine to go from a poor house servant girl impregnated and having her baby snatched away by her ancient boss to become a nurse. Hope she can keep her wits with Hissadora.”---I agree that Al needs unconditional love and hope that Isa may have met her match in a mother tiger fighting for her stolen cub.
Thanks for a great recap, Mena! Aside from the laughs, I do appreciate reading the dialog summaries because I always miss a few bits. I had no idea that the exchange between Dan and his dad was that unpleasant, for example. I had thought it was more conciliatory, but I was going on tone rather than content.
ReplyDeleteDan the Man, looking fine in Raybans? Ooof!
Dio also spied on Camila in her bedroom one night when he first moved into the MalQ after marrying Gussy. Dan caught him and warned Camila and pulled her curtains shut (for the one and only time).
Caye crossed a line in this episode in going to keep Isa company at the hospital. What he had done before – strolling around the ranch, chatting, even taking her to the cafeteria at the hospital – was bad enough, but at least somewhat okay for a husband to do. Deliberately going to console her when they would be together alone over his wife’s objections is not, no way, no how, okay. Roscio is right to be freaked out. I’m afraid she is going to get much worse than I think she deserves.
What’s the point of putting a neckbrace on a patient if they juggle his head around when they take it off and then roll him around like they did to Al? Sheesh.
I’m very glad to see Chayo show up. Alonso has been portrayed as a not entirely bad person who was really messed up by Isa. I am hoping he will be at least somewhat redeemed by the love of his real mom.
Thanks for getting this posted so early, I read it a while ago but just now watched it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Vivi put the Chayo/Alonso connection together. I wouldn't have gotten that. Do we think that Isa and Chayo recognized each other? I couldn't tell for sure, but it sort of looked like they did. Or at least Chayo did.
Cayatonto isn't even hiding his hots for Isa in front of Rocio. He must be really angry at her for flagrantly flaunting his 'support' for Isa.
The justice league better put their heads together and find the clues.
Thanks for the great recap Mena. For two nites I fell asleep near the end, so I'm especially appreciative of the recaps.
ReplyDeleteI missed when Chayo's name was first brought up, never caught the Chayo name and completely missed the nurse bit. I'm so glad you covered it.
I also agree with Juanita. Viv you are amazing with your memory for details. You never cease to amaze me.
I'm so enjoying all the detailed recaps that have been written and the most interesting comments.
Thanks again, Mena.

OK, I had t go back and look. The blunt instrument was a kelly clamp . Probably used for packing the gauze in his wound. And Vivi's comment made me go back to see Chayo in the OR, which scene I must have slept through the first time, except to note the manner in which Alonso was unceremoniously dumped face down on the operating table. In all my years of transferring patients, I never did that maneuver. And yes, Chayo's eyes and all that screen time were clues enough that she would be a player in forthcoming events. Since when do OR nurses do regular floor nursing, or vice versa?
ReplyDeleteLOL Cathyx! Cayatonto. :) I will call him that from now on. I also thought it was bad form of him to go off to "comfort" this woman, by himself, against his wife's wishes. It's not like she's some old family friend or relative.
ReplyDeleteCarolina- Yeah, Dan has not been pulling his punches when it comes to his newly inherited blood relatives. His first reaction about Xi's fate was almost funny-- "Well, no one deserves to burn to death." There is certainly no call of the blood or love lost there.
The avances show Isa and Chayo talking and Chayo saying So you want me to kill your son? That would tell me that Isa doesn't recognize Chayo.
ReplyDeleteAnita has also been capturing all this stuff in her Shine the Light post. She notes Rosario's (Chayo's) name there from Al's conversation with Salomon. So no need to rely on my memory for clues. I do sometimes get my facts wrong from memory. :)
ReplyDeleteVivi, I can't take credit for Cayantonto. Paquita named him that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Chayo reminder. I was wondering why the nurse got to have a name, and have it repeated several times so we'd be sure to get it. Where can I find the Shine the light page?
ReplyDeletePoor Ximena. Her soul is so screwed.
Kelly
Alonso is bad, but he's not evil.
ReplyDeleteXimena, IMO, was evil because she had no qualms about having her sister killed so she could take her sister's wealth. And while this plan didn't involve harming her brother Daniel, she would have signed on to get rid of him too. She had no problems hanging her sales clerk friend out to dry, embezzling from her sister or sleeping with her sister's husband, and if Dio had waved some money in front of her, she would've slept with him too. During the kidnapping ordeal, she wasn't worried about Camila being hurt, she was worried about getting caught. The only time Ximena showed concern for others was when she caught Dio & Isa locking lips, but she kept quiet so her crimes wouldn't be brought to light.
Alonso didn't want Camila to get hurt either of the times Isa put a hit out on Camila, although he was down for it if it got him out of trouble. That's why I say Alonso is bad, but not evil.
Agustina likes living in fantasy world. One of the reasons IMO she detests FX so much is because he pops her bubble and brings her back to reality and reality is not a place she wants to be. I wonder if now that Ximena is gone, her crimes in Monterrey will come to light?
Agustina & Camila don't know that Ximena was on the run from the law for theft and that's why she came to the ranch. Agustina doesn't know that Ximena embezzled a very large sum of money from Camila. When Ximena's involvement with Bruno is brought to light, Agustina will probably excuse the phone calls/texts between the two as them being friends from way back, not as kidnapping accomplices (even though Ximena was the one who sent Camila to the cabin).
Naturally, Agustina will not want to believe her daughter was capable of such bad things; yet, Agustina would believe the claims against Ximena quicker than she would believe the claims against Dionisio.
I didn't believe the interaction b/w Daniel & FX over Ximena to be confrontational; Daniel simply stated:
a) he's surprised FX is crying so much over Ximena when he abandoned both he and Ximena as small children;
b) he's glad FX had "happy times" when Ximena before she died so maybe FX's conscience can be a little cleaner
c) he's not going on the warpath over Ximena's death, but he will seek justice
d) He barely knew the girl, and there were no brother/sister feelings there.
Also, he can stand around me wearing Ray Bans all he likes. That is all.
They've already mentioned getting Bruno's phone records. But I think that they will only implicate Ximena, not Isa. I hope Al lives long enough to do some good.
ReplyDeleteAnon207: I'm a little confused about Xi. I thought she told Al she didn't want anyone getting killed re: the kidnapping. So she knew Isa wanted Cam dead? Was she just saying that to Al? Because if she was aware that the goal was to kill Cam, then she deserved her fiery death.
ReplyDeleteKelly- Here is Anita's Shine the Light post: http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2012/10/amor-bravio-extra-operation-shine-light.html
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mena--It'll be 10 pm before I get through all the comments, so I'll have to start now and risk being a duppie.
ReplyDeleteBill C--Vivi is right in giving you all the men who might have been at the Hostel, but I also think it was Mariano coming to see Pablo.
Mena--I'm glad you got all the action straight. From the moment Dan came into Camila's room to tell her about Xi, I only had eyes for Dan. Be still my heart when I saw the Chilean Man in Black at the velorio tenderly ministering to Camila--and actually taking her in his arms in full view of everyone in the room--too bad Dio wasn't there then, bwaaahhaaa. But, I nearly climbed through the screen to touch that gorgeous hunk with the dark glasses on. Has there *ever* been a more galan-looking galan? Uff.
Keep this in mind as well: Sometimes nasty or difficult people are virtually canonized by their survivors after their deaths.
ReplyDeleteAugustina had no illusions about Ximeana in the beginning of the story. She told her off in the opening episode when she was nasty to Camila about her upcoming wedding. She gave her well-deserved hell over her behavior at Luis' funeral. She did the same when Ximeana didn't bother coming to the ranch for three years thereafter, including Camila's wedding to Alonso. Now that Ximeana is dead she isn't a bad girl.
I've seen that play out in life.
Bruno's phone records could implicate Hissadora, as she was the last person to call him from La Malquerida. Ximeana was nowhere near the hacienda at the time of that call and very likely had not been seen for more than an hour.
Hey, Vivi--I thought Chayo was taking an inordinate amount of interest in Al. I guessed.
ReplyDeleteTell, me, though, what was the last tn we saw her in? She looks soooo familiar. I've been running through possible cast lists and cannot zero in on her. Could it have been MEPS at the sanitorium or was it Mi Peccado or AdeP (which I didn't watch).
Anon207, I also thought that Xi was okay with kidnapping Camila, but not okay with killing her. And Al wasn't okay with any of it, but he had a gun to his head, literally. I also just watched the convo between Dan and his dad again, and I think it's pretty neutral. As Vivi said, he doesn't pull any punches and he says what he thinks, but he doesn't get worked up about it. I think he just doesn't want to get involved with that loser, and who could blame him.
ReplyDeletecathyx, Isa called Bruno directly at least once. She must have asked him to address her as 'Alonso' because that's what he did so that Camila would hear that. I was a bit confused by that because why would she bother with covering her tracks with Cam if she was planning to kill her. Also, Xi texted him to call the landline at the house and then he did that and everyone witnessed his conversation with Dan. The timing of the calls would implicate him and Xi and Isa, I think.
Actually, I am confused by a number of details of the kidnapping, but I don't know that any of it will matter that much. The evidence is piling up against Isa. They still need something that'll stick to Dio since he wasn't involved in the kidnapping.
UA--That was the remains of a meal tray, so I think it was just a metal knife. However, when he put it up to Isa's neck, it looked sharper than the run-of-the mill knives that come with hospital food trays.
ReplyDeleteAnita- Llena de Amor was her last Televisa tn...where she played the head maid, who years before had been impregnated by the patron, and her daughter was then raised as a member of the rich family, not knowing her nana was he mama. Sound familiar?...
ReplyDeleteTina Romero (Chayo) also does Telemundo tns, and her last tn before this one was Maid in Manhattan on Telemundo.
She was also in Mi Pecado on Televisa.
Vivi--Bandage cutting scissors are often blunt on the ends. This was definitely a knife.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell, this comment reading is going very slowly.
Vivi--Since I didn't see the other ones, it had to be Mi Peccado where I saw her. She was one of the help in the kitchen, I think. The mind is a funny thing. The face was immediately familiar--the where from was a complete blank.
ReplyDeleteI do feel sorry for Aggie losing her child. Even though Xi turned out to be a bad person, as a parent you remember when they were little and how much you care for them and love them as you raise them. It would be horrible to lose a child.
ReplyDeleteIf Amanda were smart, she'd make a run for it while Dion is in the hospital.
Mena thanks for recap and recappers thanks for noting Chayo; I did pick up that she would be an important character based on the close-ups since my Spanish is here and there.
ReplyDeleteCathyx - ITA that Cayantonto must be very angry at his wife to play the "comforter" role against Rocio's desires.
Vivi - Though the occasion was sad (Xi's funeral), Dan's comment made me LOL!
Kelly - Your comment about Xi's soul being screwed was another LOL moment for me.
Cathyx- I feel sorry for her too. She can be a shrill idiot sometimes, but she's done nothing to deserve such a great loss.
ReplyDeleteWhen Isa made the one call to Bruno that we did see, she did it from Camila's phone in her cabin. It wasn't long after everyone had all been together in the study, so I don't think anyone could say that Xi was not in the hacienda when the call was made. I'm pretty sure she never told any of them that she was going out. As far as they know, she was hiding/hanging out somewhere in the hacienda. There is nothing that links Isa to the kidnapping or the murder of Xi. Only if they can find the suv Isa used for the crime and can link it to her. We still don't know where she got it from.
Great point, Cathyx. With El Diablo in the hospital now would be the best time for Amanda to flee. However, she most likely won't because Natalia will set up the roadblock of insisting that she tell her The Whole Truth first, which we know she won't.
ReplyDeleteI also expect that Natalia will visit El Diablo in the hospital before he's released.
Vivi, you're right. I forgot that she went to Cam's cabin to make that call. There is the SUV which would surely have incriminating damage.
ReplyDeleteThere is also the recording of the conversation she had with Alonso in that hotel room. The recording that he emailed to himself. Someone needs to get ahold of his laptop and take a look at his emails, and I think Dan is the Man for that job!
Carolina- Also about the covering of tracks...even if Isa had succeeded in killing Camila, there was that proof of life call where Camila implicated Alonso because she had heard her kidnapper referring to his boss as Alonso. That worked perfectly for Isa's plans.
ReplyDeleteCarolina--You got the Xi/kidnapping plot and the Al/ditto accurately, details included. We probably do need to remember the who and the when of the phone calls because that is all we have to implicate Isa. Dio and Isa can only play 'he said' 'she said'.
ReplyDeleteI see there were others noticing the Ray-Ban-Man.
Vivi--Ah ha, you are sooo right--I forgot from where Isa made the call to Bruno and whose phone she used. Xi's absence wasn't noted until after the phone call came through. Hissy excused her self to go get some air...in order to *make* the phone call.
ReplyDeleteIsa sure knows how to cover her tracks. I wish they would look into the literal tracks that the SUV left at the crime scene. But I suppose that Al's car was too badly burned to know that another vehicle was involved. They probably think it was suicide or an accident that he went over the cliff.
ReplyDeleteSomeone mentioned that maybe the purse got thrown with Al out of the car as it went down. I would love it if Dan went to the crime scene, walked around and found the purse in some shrubs.
Xi's absence--or was it later they noted her absence.
ReplyDeleteVivi, ITA. I think Isa took Dio's advice after the de-tongue-ing of Leonicio, when he told he that he never gets his hands dirty.
ReplyDeleteShe set up the kidnapping so that she would be very well protected and Xi and Al would take the fall for everything. There is enough evidence against her, however. We need the good guys to get going and uncover it.
Anita: "Has there *ever* been a more galan-looking galan?"--to my way of thinking. YES. Fernando Colunga!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw how upset the nurse was when they brought Al in, I thought she might have been someone who crossed paths with him and had a crush. Then when I saw her in the hospital room, I thought, maybe a nice woman for Al to love. But immediately paid better attention to her and realized she was too old. Then it hit me who she might be. I'm actually rather proud of myself for catching that. I'm usually so clueless about plots, etc. (as you can tell by it taking me a bit to realize she was too old.)
If only Leoncio would learn how to write or sign. Then he could tell them that Isa did it.
ReplyDeleteAnita- Xi's absence was noted between Al's call to Dan on his cell phone (promted by Xi), and Bruno's call to the hacienda phone to Dan (also prompted by Xi). But then she came back before that second call. After Dan left, everyone scattered-- the scoobies to chat with Gussy; Isa and Xi to plan the next move; then Isa and Dio in Cami's cabin after she called Bruno with the REAL plan. No one noticed when Xi left the hacienda. When they all got the call about Cami being found and scattered for the hospital, no one gave her whereabouts a second thought.
ReplyDelete"I see there were others noticing the Ray-Ban-Man."
ReplyDeleteLike every woman with a pulse. :-)

ReplyDeleteFirst I noticed how damn good Dan looks in black at the wake. Yum! Then I noticed how damn fine he looked in black AND those sunglasses at the funeral. Double yum! His coloring and build reminds of of FC, who also looks very good in black and in sunglasses. But since CdlF is my age, I'm going to give him the win on this one. Uff!
ReplyDeleteI prefer Dan sunglass-less. He has such lovely eyes, I want to see them.
ReplyDeleteHow long will it take until Aggie catches on to Dion's Camila obsession. I will excuse her for now because she's been preoccupied with Ximena's death and all, but sooner or later she has to think it a bit odd. I was grossed out when he was thinking to himself that he only thinks of her when he is with anyone else. So you know that's how he was able to perform with Aggie when he had to sleep with her.
I know, double yuck.
cathyx,
ReplyDelete"Someone mentioned that maybe the purse got thrown with Al out of the car as it went down. I would love it if Dan went to the crime scene, walked around and found the purse in some shrubs."
That was me and I would love that outcome, too! I didn't know anyone had even read that post I made at the end of the other episode's discussion. I still think that too much was made of those phone records, the steps Al took to get them, and their exact location at the time of the crash for them to be simply carbonized along with the rest of the SUV.
I also liked Camila's simple outfits for the wake and the funeral-- fitted jackets (not covering her bum!) over fitted black pants. I especially liked the jacket at the wake which seemed to have lace across the waist.
ReplyDeleteIn the morning, before I go to the new recap, I always read the new comments from the previous recap if there are any. I remember you made more great observations in that comment than that one. I'll go back and reread it.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, I didn't watch the show so I didn't notice the ambulance guy.
ReplyDeleteAggie does look a lot like Edith Bunker, but maybe more stylish. I think Aggie has more money than Edith did.
And they did show the candle left burning on the haybale. One would think that was important too.
Caroline- I meant to answer. Yes. It's the same curly haired EMT who collected Dan, when he was hurt, and Dion, who then was at the scene of the car accident. He might have even been the one who collected Cami after the bull goring incident, but I wasn't paying attention that time as Dan was crying his eyes out and it's hard for me to concentrate when he's taking up the screen. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to both of you. I am on the west coast, so I will always be lagging behind. I am glad to know that folks do read old posts, and I'll keep adding them even if they're late.
ReplyDeleteI am so very happy to have found this blog and I hope no one minds that I have jumped in with both feet. You all seem to be such a great group.
cathyx, Aggie definitely has more money and style than Edith, but they both roll their eyes and say their husbands' name the same way. I think Edith was smarter, too, or at least had fewer illusions about Archie.
ReplyDeleteVivi, I am telling you that ambulance dude is the same one every time. I should go back and see if he collected Luis, too. ;-)
Carolina- LOL! If I were that EMT, I would start to think this Camila chick is bad luck. First I find her gored by a bull in the town bullring. Then I find her crying over her boyfriend and friend who have been shot in front of the hostel in town. Then I come out to her ranch and find that the guy who rescued her, because she was kidnapped and left to be killed by bulls, has been trampled by bulls. Then I find her sister burned to death and her husband thrown from a car accident on the road to town.
ReplyDeleteHe probably calls her 'Senora Job Security'.
ReplyDeleteCarolina--I always check the comments from the day before. There are always some gems. OTOH, sometimes it's just me getting there late.... So, comment away, there will always be someone to read it evenif you are last. We can always answer questions the next day, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Vivi, it was the same ambulance guy picking up Cam & Dio.
Carolina--LOL--Senora Job Security...
ReplyDeleteCarolina- LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteProbably the ONLY reason why he wouldn't have been Luis' EMT is because they weren't in Metepec/Aculco at the time. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe MQ bunch is a walking crime wave for Metepec/Aculco.
Nanette--FC is in a class by himself: TBLMOE. He is aging gracefully, now playing a father in the new comedy Porque.
ReplyDeleteBut CdF has some je ne sais quois about how he interacts with his leading lady, or at least this leading lady. He's so natural in the little touches, as is Silvia--but we've seen this about her, but we don't know Cristian that well.
And Vivi, I may be twice your age but I know one when I see one and appreciate him exactly the same way you do.
If this ambulance guy is the same one who rescued Cam and Luis, then I would say Cam and the ambulance guy were meant to be together, not Cam and Dan.
ReplyDeleteCdlF has done a great job of acting all around in this role.
ReplyDeleteI saw him on Dancing With the Stars a few years ago and was not impressed. I don't think he came off very well at all on that show.
Do people here know that there were rumors of him and Sylvia having a fling during filming of AB? He's married and she's got a bf. I think rumors most likely were just rumors, or they could have been made up or planted to stir up interest and publicity. Or they could have started to explain why he is acting this role so well because I don't think he has ever been this convincing before. Or maybe it is true that they really did have a little something going on. Their chemistry is undeniable.
Carolina- I'm laughing too. We should all have such good luck in our careers.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that Ximena was evil really. She did draw the line at murder after all, and she said something to Dio about not hurting her mother when she caught him kissing Hissadora. Not that she did anything else about it but still, there was potential for redemption waaaay down deep in the bottom dregs of her heart. Jail, sure. But burning to death is a little extreme.
I know FC is beloved here, but I'm giving it to CdlF. I thought he looked a little evil in those aviator glasses but I'd still let him seduce me even if her were evil. ("Do you want..." "YES!")
Kelly
Maybe Silvia has made him rise up to her level somewhat. I think a good acting partner can do that.
ReplyDeleteWe had a discussion early on about CdlF's acting ability and I wanted to wait until his character had more of an assertive position before I made a call. It may still be too early, he's just come out as Dan a couple of episodes ago, but I think he's not bad. I like it when he contradicts the bad guys and acts incredulously at what they say. He doesn't waver and puts it out there. But he's no Jorge Salinas. But few actors are. I'll still wait and perhaps change my mind as we get into the meat of this TN, as we all agree it has turned the corner and we are getting down and dirty with the plot now.
cathyx, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOk, I had to check. It doesn't show Cam and Luis being picked up by the ambulance and I am relieved to say that the ambulance crew in Chile that picked up Muriam looked like different people, but they don't show the guy clearly enough to be 100% sure.
If you see what a dufus CdlF is when he isn't acting, you will see what it must take for him to be playing this role. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteSorry if I burst anyone's bubbles. He is gorgeous as all heck and I love him in this role, but he was really an odd duck on DWTS.
Caroline, I watched that season of DWTS and I didn't notice him on the show. It wasn't until CdlF was in this TN that I read that he was on the show. So I looked it up and sure enough, I watched that season and had no idea he was on it. That's because Mario Lopez was on that season and Mario was so good, that I only cared if Mario won. Which he didn't, he got totally robbed of the title, not that I'm still fuming about that.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to acting talent nobody compares to Jorge Salinas!
ReplyDeleteSilvia and Jorge were great together in the comedy movie Labios Rojos as a married couple. I would like to see the two of them together in a really good tn.
ReplyDeleteThe tabloids create rumors about every tn acting couple if they happen to have good chemistry. SN has good chemistry with all her leading men.
Vivi: "SN has good chemistry with all her leading men." Amen to that. I think she has chemistry with everyone she acts with--male and female. That's rare. I always felt that way about Morgan Freeman. There's just something about them.
ReplyDeleteI'm also one of those who checks the previous recap;s comments for last minute entries before reading the current one. I don't want to miss one juicy bit of discussion.
ReplyDeleteAnd many thanks to the person who realized you don't have to use the numbers when entering the word verification.
Carolina--Please don't sell CdF short on the basis of DWTS. Check out his very entertaining, informative and charming interview with a Chilean show host. It's in several parts on YouTube (and please don't ask me to give you a link because I screw it up). If you search under Cristian De La Fuente2, eventually you can find part 1. It was posted by Edwin Castillo.
ReplyDeleteOne of the first things he says is that he can revert back to his native Chilean accent.
I've never seen SN before AB, but I think she has been just fantastic and it's entirely pausible that she has elevated CdlF's acting.
ReplyDeletecathyx, Mario Lopez was on DWTS Season 3 and CdlF was on Season 6, which Kristi Yamaguchi won and Jason, some NFL player, took second. Cristian got injured and was a distant yet respectable third. Some comments about him from a DWTS forum I hang out on occasion:
I don't like him. I don't know why. There's something here that's rubbing me the wrong way. Maybe it's all the 'ain't I pretty?' side glances at the camera. It could be the feeling that he only showed up to get an American career on some level of 'established'. Or it's that smile. It could definitely be that smile, because it feels like he painted it on. News flash, not-so-pretty boy: you're not fun. We've had fun. You aren't it.
His overly goofy behavior makes the "latin heartthrob" label unbelievable.
Well, his hotness flew right out the window as soon as he opened his mouth. Ick, I don't like. I felt bad for how harsh the judges were on him, though. Haven't we learned already that not all Latinos(as) are great dancers?
Then no wonder I missed him, lol. I didn't watch season.
ReplyDeleteAnita, I have seen a few clips on youtube of him and I'd say they are a mixed bag. There is one from a few years ago with his daughter that is adorable and others where he is on talk shows and mugging for the camera like he did on DWTS.
ReplyDeleteI'll just say this. He is gorgeous and wonderful on AB and I am enjoying his performance immensely. I don't really care about anything else. :)
That should be season 6.
ReplyDeleteHis dances are all on youtube if you are interested and most of them include the parts where they show him being himself before and after the dance as well. Search for Cristian, Cheryl (his partner), and DWTS and they should pop right up.
ReplyDeleteGood enough, Carolina. Welcome to the We Love Silvia club, and by extension, anyone she pairs with on screen!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Silvia is 'Senora Job Security' for Cristian, too. :)
ReplyDelete...but boo on the DWTS forum--CdF had long ago established his American career, albeit modestly as guest on several popular American series, going back to CSI Miami in the 1st & 2nd season (and that would be 2002) and Family Law (that would be 2000).
ReplyDeleteAy yi yi--Carolina you slay me!
ReplyDeleteI can't watch DWTS because of the ridiculously homogenized music. Doing the tango to something by the Pussycat Dolls really is lame. At least on the Televisa dance competition shows they're not afraid of the real sound of anything they dance to.
ReplyDeleteThe music is awful, agreed. Some is more awful and some less. In general, I am not a fan of pop music but I do like the dancing. And I like how, unlike most reality shows, they don't focus on nasty, negative behavior. For the most part, the 'stars' act like adults and are always good sports and nice to each other. They seem to become friends and have a great time.
ReplyDeleteI saw a few bits of Mire Quien Bailar and it did not appeal, but I am not sure why. I didn't think the dancing was as good.
Anita, I think it's no secret that a lot of the 'stars' (some are not actually what anyone would call stars) go on DWTS to bolster their name recognition and careers and there is no shame in that. The problem with CdlF is that it seemed blatant, like that was the only reason he was there and he didn't even try to hide it, though his competitiveness came out later, as it usually does, and he started to really work on his dancing. He made a lot of progress by the end.
BTW, his English is excellent.
