Buenas noches on the
last night of the world! Or the last
night of this age, anyway :) I've got a
cold beverage and some nachos on the way, so let's get this party started!
Camila gets
chloroformed and dragged away, leaving Daniel's necklace and la pobre de Maja
behind.
Snotty Bitch wants
to leave ASAP…she can't stand seeing Pablo with Luzma. Cayetano won't back her play. If she wants to go home, she'll go alone. Snotty Bitch makes her apologies to Agustina,
who offers her a pill for her headache, but she declines it and leaves. Cayetano moves over to sit near Yago. Agustina notices Dionisio staring at Isadora
and asks him why the hell he keeps staring at her. Dio gets pissed and says if he did like Isa,
he would have married her instead of Augie.
He asks if someone's putting ideas into her head, but Augie denies it
and glares at Francisco.
Alonso, like me, is
getting his drink on. But his is pure
liquor and mine is something fruity with maraschino cherries. And I'm in a much better mood than he is. It's probably the cherries.
Aaron is getting a
little antsy. He wants to talk to Padre
Anselmo ASAP about starting up a community.
Daniel apologizes for keeping him cooped up all that time. Aaron says it's no big…he's glad he got to
live with Rafa again, like when they were kids.
And he's getting to meet people, like Daniel, and make new friends, so
he's pretty much happy. He wants Daniel
and Camila to come visit his community in Chiapas, so they get an idea of how
it works and can supervise the one they're going to start there in town. Daniel agrees and goes to call the Padre.
Ximena has a text
from Bruno saying the plan is going forward.
Isa asks after Alonso and is pleased to hear that he's around, but not
planning to join the party.
Viv, Rafa, and Pablo
notice that Camila's been missing for a while.
Vivi figures she must be checking on something. Rafa wants to go look for her and Vivi
agrees, noting that Mariano isn't there either.
Alonso is upstairs,
sulking and drinking. He gets a text
from Estevez offering to help him with the breach of contract and suggesting
they meet at a hotel in Aculco that evening.
Alonso thinks this may be a way out.
Camila comes to as
Bruno sharpens a stake. She starts to
ask him questions, but he tells her he's just taking orders. Bruno calls to inform "Sir" that he
has Camila, as planned…of course she's tied up…"Very well, Mr. Alonso,
I'll wait for further instructions."
Camila starts to ask if he means Alonso Lazcano, but Bruno tells her to
shut it!
Camila tries to talk
some sense into Bruno, telling him that she doesn't have any money, that the
ranch isn't hers. Bruno threatens her
with the stake, saying that'll be worse for her, then. If "they" won't pay her ransom,
she's off to the next world. Camila
offers to pay him for letting her go, but he gets violent again, telling her to
shut up or she'll die earlier than planned.
Camila recognizes his voice, but he denies having ever met her before
and claims that Alonso ordered him to beat her if she gave him any
trouble. He gags her when she protests.
Rafa, Vivi, and
Mariano are all frantically looking for Camila.
Vivi runs into Alonso on the stairs and he says he doesn't know where
she is. He won't tell her where he's
going, saying it's none of her business.
Vivi fills Mariano in on this development, but he decides to go after
Alonso and ask him anyway.
Mariano catches up
to Alonso outside and asks if he has any idea where Camila
is…"Partying? In her cabin? How would I know?" Alonso takes off.
Rafa sees the kids,
who haven't seen her either, but offer to help look.
Mariano finds Maja,
who's been sedated. He also finds the
necklace and remembers she was wearing it earlier. He goes running through the cabin looking for
her.
Nana asks Snotty
Bitch why she's home early. She
complains about the bad memories and Pablo looking so happy with "that
girl." She's pissed that Cayetano
wanted to hang out there and she's suspicious of Isadora. Not suspicious enough to hang around, I see!
Isadora excuses
herself from the party, saying she's meeting a real estate agent to look at
some houses. Cayetano offers to drive
her into town…"Oh, no, thanks, I need to take my car…we're going to look
at several houses, you know,"…Cayetano then says that would be no trouble
at all. Dude! I'm not any fonder of your wife than you are,
but you married her! Stick it back in
your pants, dude! Isa thanks him again,
but says this is also his son's triumph and he shouldn't miss the party. Cayetano backs down and Dio offers to escort
Isadora to her car. Agustina yells after
him when she sees him holding Isadora's arm, but they don't stop walking
away. Dio doesn't buy the "house
hunting" story and tells Isa he hopes she's not up to more of her
shenanigans. "Me? Shenanigans?
Never!" She accuses him of
getting as paranoid as Alonso.
Vivi and Rafa meet
back up and neither one has found her.
Mariano runs up and says something bad happened to her…Maja's been doped
up and the necklace was on the floor.
Rafa suggests they run and tell everyone that something bad happened.
Ximena is acting
shifty, which isn't news, and her mom notices, which is. Ximena claims she's just bored with these
silly country parties is all. Dio tells her to get used to it, since her
brother owns the place. Agustina doesn't
appreciate the reminder. Ximena tells
Agustina that she'd better get used to the idea as well, cause there's at least
one headache in store for her when he shows up.
Rafa and Vivi come running in and Rafa announces to everyone that Camila
is missing. They've looked everywhere
and they can't find her. Vivi tells them
about Maja and the necklace. Dio says
they have to find her, but Ximena thinks she just went to Aculco to attend to
some animal…no one's buying that one.
Rafa tells everyone they can't go to the cops yet because she hasn't
been missing long enough. Dio orders
Rodolfo and Eluterio to organize a search party and they run off to do it. Luzma says no one would hurt Camila, cause
everyone loves her. "Not
everyone!" Ximena pipes up. Oh,
she's not talking about herself, though…she says Alonso's pretty pissed at
Camila. Vivi says she saw him in the
house, but Camila wasn't with him and he didn't know where she was. "Please, find my daughter!" begs
Agustina. Dio takes off and Ximena
awkwardly tries to comfort her mother.
Meanwhile, in Chile,
Teresa finally meets Dante. She
introduces herself and Dante is thrilled to hear that Daniel is alive. He's all excited to help.
Padre Anselmo comes
over to Vivi's house. He meets Aaron and
recognizes him as Fake!Daniel. Aaron
tells him about their idea of starting a self-sustaining community.
Teresa fills Dante
in on her frustrations with the investigation.
Dante says he also hasn't been able to find Abraham. He wanted to leave flowers at Miriam's grave,
but Abraham is AWOL. That creep! I bet Miriam's not dead and he took her
somewhere to finish recuperating! I bet
someone else came up with this theory already, too! Dante says it seems like the earth swallowed
up Abraham. He thinks maybe Abraham fell
into some kind of depression. Teresa is
determined to talk to him. Dante says
he'll help her do that. He's looking
forward to seeing Daniel again. They
talk about going back to Mexico. Teresa
won't agree to give him Daniel's number, but she will pass on Dante's number to
Daniel.
Dio drives around
the ranch in his SUV. He tries calling
for Camila, but the cows are not forthcoming with any information. The ranch hands cover ground on horses. Mariano, Rafa, and Vivi take his truck. Pablo and Luzma take an ATV.
Bruno gives Camila
some water. She cries and thinks that
Alonso betrayed them because they wouldn't give him the money. She thinks he's really, really lost his mind. She begs Bruno to let her go, but he gags her
again.
Agustina worries and
prays. Vivi, Rafa, and Dio all say they
can't find her. Vivi goes to check on
Maja and search the cabin. Rafa goes with
her. Dio promises they'll find out what
happened.
Ximena gloats that
Camila won't be found.
Vivi wants to tell
Daniel, but Rafa says he'll go nuts. He
agrees to call him, though.
Aaron is filling in
Padre Anselmo on the plan, and Padre loves the idea. Daniel takes the call from Rafa and says
he'll go right over to the ranch. Vivi's
pissed and says Daniel can't set foot on the ranch!
Aaron repeats this
to Daniel. Padre Anselmo agrees and says
he could be putting Camila's life in further danger. Aaron suggests they call Dio, since he must
have something to do with it. He whips
out his cell.
Dio finishes telling
his guys to search and says to himself that it must be Isadora's plan. He answers "Daniel"'s call and
denies having anything to do with it. He
swears he'd never dare to hurt her. Dio
wearily agrees it might be one of his "friends" but he denies any
knowledge or involvement. He swears
he'll find her if it's the last thing he does in his life. "You'd better, or you'll pay for this
with your life!" Damn, Aaron's
really getting good at the threat-slinging for such a peace-loving,
tree-hugging hippie! Aaron apologizes to
Padre Anselmo for having to talk to Dio that way.
Yago, Mariano, and
Cayetano plan for Yago and Cayetano to take the kids back to Buenaventura while
he stays there.
Alonso gets to the
hotel room where he's supposed to be meeting Estevez, but there's no one there.
Dio calls Alonso,
who ignores the call. He leaves a
message to call him ASAP, that Camila is missing and if he finds out Alonso or
his mom had anything to do with it, they're not going to really find out what
he's capable of. Like, for realz this
time!
Alonso sits down to
wait.
Camila struggles to
get up off the ground and tries to cut her ropes off, but Bruno busts her. He starts loading up a syringe and Camila
begs him not to do it, but he threatens to inject her face if she doesn't shut
it. Whatever he shoots her up with, it's
the same thing he used on the dog, or so he says. He kisses her on the forehead as she passes
out.
Isadora walks into
the hotel room and holds a gun to Alonso's head. She says it's the only way to make him do
something to save his own skin. She
doesn't care that he hates her. She
tells him she knows he's in touch with the real Daniel. After some blah, blah, blah, that I ignore
while I continue sipping my drink, she says he's going to call Daniel and tell
him that she'll trade Camila for La Malquerida.
Alonso is horrified. He remembers
Vivi looking for her. "Don't you
dare hurt her!" Isadora mocks him
for still being in love with her. He
threatens her not to push him too far.
She shoves him with the gun and demands that he call Daniel. Alonso won't betray Daniel, but Isadora says
either he does it and gets himself and Camila free or he goes to jail and
Camila dies.
Agustina is in
tears. Mariano offers to get his workers
from Buenaventura to search, but Dio says he's got it under control.
Isadora gloats that
she's got him over the coals now. Alonso
is worried about where Camila is and if she's ok. Isa mocks him again for being in love with
Camila, for crying. Alonso agrees to her
plan, but he says he doesn't know how to get in touch with Daniel. "Camila gave him my messages and put us
in touch with each other. Take me to
where Camila is and I'll call him."
Isa sees right through that. She
assumes Daniel is at Vivi's house. She
has Vivi's number and tells him to stop making excuses and call her.
Daniel is
agitated. Aaron is blocking the exit,
while Padre Anselmo screams at him to calm the hell down and not put Camila's
life in further danger. Daniel answers
the phone when it rings. He claims to
have Camila in a secure location, but he wants something in exchange…La
Malquerida. "Put it in my name, and
do in in front of a notary so it's legal."
Daniel screams at him for betraying them. "I had no choice." Daniel agrees and says he'll find the notary. "When I'm officially owner of La
Malquerida, I'll give back Camila."
Alonso tells him to hurry and get the ball rolling and says he'll call
him later.
El pobre de Alonso
is all broken up about what he's done.
He threatens Isadora that if anything happens to Camila, she'll pay with
her life. He says once the ranch is in
his name, he's handing it over to Estevez and taking his shares in cash so he
can get the hell out of there. Isadora
hopes the other partners have enough liquidity for that, cause Alonso will be
giving her half of the money.
"Since I got you out of the mess you were in." She mocks him for daring to try to betray his
mommy. "I never would have done
that to my mother…but you're not my mother!
Let's take the masks off!"
Dio's guys come
back, but they can't find Camila. Car
tracks aren't helping since there were so many coming and going for the
party. Dio orders them to get back to
looking.
"You pretended
to be my mother. You pretended to love
me, but you hate me because you had to deal with me. You could never have your own child. I was an idiot not to realize it. All these years, you've taken out on me what
my father did to you." Isadora
calls him ungrateful. "You should
have killed me like you killed my father.
It would have been better than living with you." In a flashback, young Isa doctors dead
daddy's drink. Isa says he died of a
heart attack. "Yeah, convenient for
you, wasn't it? I wouldn't be surprised
to know you caused his heart attack."
Isa keeps playing innocent and saying heart attacks happen to old
guys. She says she made Alonso
everything he is. He points out all the
negative parts of that…that he's a loser, a good-for-nothing, who lacks his own
will because he's been manipulated by her.
Isadora says he's being a drama queen.
"You know I love you."
Alonso says all she wants is to destroy him. Isa keeps saying she's doing this for his own
good. Alonso swears if anything happens
to Camila he'll kill her. "Don't
threaten me! Nothing will happen. Maybe I didn't show you my love the right
way, but you're all I have." Alonso
laughs, "And the only thing I have is the love I have for Camila! If I called Daniel, it was to protect her
from you, because I love her more than I love myself." He keeps screaming that he loves her as
Isadora points the gun at his face.
Tomorrow: the search
continues; Daniel is unmasked in front of the few people left in this show who
didn't already know he was Daniel
Gracias tanto, tanto, tanto a Vivi for covering for me last week! There were concerts and chocolate and things were just crazy! I finally caught up on watching all the episodes about an hour before tonight's started!
ReplyDeleteNo big performing news...all my concerts are done for the year and I won't be back onstage until, oh...the second week in January :D That's what I get for wanting to stay busy!
I've had to watch ahead since I'll be with family for the holiday and let me just say this: Cancel Christmas!
ReplyDeleteOk, maybe don't cancel Xmas but make darn sure the vcr (or whatever you have that is more 21st century) is set properly. Given the history of this show, I don't think it's a spoiler to say that Stuff is Happening.
Happy Holidays to all, whatever holiday you chose to celebrate, and if you chose not to celebrate then Happy Novela Watching! Eat tamales anyway.
Kelly
Kat- You're very welcome. It was my pleasure and I'm happy to hear you got so much done.
ReplyDeleteKelly- Have a great holiday. Thanks for the heads up. If last night's episode is any indication they we are in for a rollercoaster the next episodes. I haven't looked to see which days, if any, the show won't be on. As of mid-day today I'm off till after New year's. Plenty of time to ponder the events on this show.
The scenes last night between Isa and Al were intense with great acting by both actors. That hotel scene should be nominated for something. More later.
Kat - You really captured the intensity of last night. Great work.
ReplyDeleteWow -- more to come of this intensity? Thanks for warning us, Kelly. I will make sure that all is in order with my DVR while I'm away at my mother's next week.
The scenes with Camila were especially tough given what we know about Bruno's potential for violence.
I am loving watching Dio lose control of the situation. One up for Isadora for the moment. That may well change this evening.
Good work, Kat. Glad you've been busy, too.
ReplyDeleteBruno needs to be arrested yesterday. He should share Leoncerdo's final fate.
Would you believe I fell asleep during this episode? I have had a cold; the meds put me to sleep. Happily, I have this recap (Thanks!) and have it on the DVR. Something to enjoy today while the snow is outside.
ReplyDeleteWorking on downloading videos for the next week and a half as we are taking a camping trip to Disney. I can watch in the car and/or while hubby is sleeping later than me. I will be relying on the recappers (Double thanks!) as I won't have the subtitles to help.
Cindy
I actually felt sorry for Alonso, because he's going down whether he helps Hissy or not. He's either going to jail or going to the grave...there's no exit for him now unless he just follows Salomon's example and flees to New York.
ReplyDeleteSame with stupid, greedy Ximena. She's so anxious to eliminate both her sister and her brother & get revenge on Alonso she doesn't realize there's no exit for her either...she's either going to jail or the grave.
Hissy wants it all...why would she share with Ximena? But Ximena's too stupid & greedy to see that.
And the sad thing is both Camila and Daniel would share the fortune of MQ with Ximena, but she wants it all and will end up with nothing. She better make like Salomon and flee to New York, too.
Thanks Kat. I am now craving maraschino cherries. How would they taste on oatmeal?
ReplyDeleteGetting ready to watch this episode. I am curious if we saw Luzma and Pablo return on the ATV. When I read they went out on that, my mind flashed a flip and miscarriage.
Cindy - get better and say hi to Mickey Mouse.
Kelly - "Stuff is Happening"!!!!!!! As if this show could get any better! Now we get the afore mentioned cherry on top!
Thanks, Kat, for another great recap. As always, I savored so many of your lines. Among my snarky favorites:
ReplyDelete"Dude! I'm not any fonder of your wife than you are, but you married her! Stick it back in your pants, dude!"
"Ximena is acting shifty, which isn't news, and her mom notices, which is."
"Dio drives around the ranch in his SUV. He tries calling for Camila, but the cows are not forthcoming with any information."
I loved seeing Dio at a loss.
Last night's episode gave me the strong impression that Alonso will not survive, but that he may lose his life in a moderately heroic way. (Given my track record on predictions, smart money will bet that this doesn't happen. :-) )
One of the few people who is really thinking clearly right now is Teresa, perhaps because she's nowhere near La Malquerida and the Komodo Krazies. At any rate, I was pleased to see that when Dante asked for Dan's phone number, she said that she'd instead give Dante's to Dan.
I realize that Camila can be excused for not thinking clearly, but she should NOT have given Bruno any indication that she sort of recognizes his voice. Since she's La Protagonista, this lapse won't completely do her in, but it still wasn't smart.
A couple of people today have commented about how they've already watched future episodes or plan to download them. I'd love to know how/where to do this, since I too will probably be traveling before the TN ends.
Juanita- If you click on my name and email me, I'll send the link to you. We don't like publishing links for watching ahead on the site, because Uni is really good about shutting down sites with tn episodes.
ReplyDeleteSo there sits Camila all tied up thinking it's Alonso's doing.
ReplyDeleteWith Mariano and the Scooby Gang knowing that Camila was wearing the necklace, and not Daniel, he won't be held suspect over that as we feared.
I liked how they showed Augustina watching Dio and Hiss as they walked away arm in arm without acknowledging her calls. Obviously Dio and Hiss have something going on. Any fool can see, even Aggie.
The actress who played a young Hiss sure is pretty. Is she well known?
Thanks 5ft, I read your recap before watching, and I'm glad I did. I was better prepared. But you spared me the intensity of Bruno's brutality. I was shocked at how rough he was with her. And then he would do that sick kiss, caress thing he did with Viv. Making women afraid is real turn on for him.
ReplyDeleteI hope if Alonso dies, he gets his name cleared up before he goes. I can't see how he's getting out of this one.
I agree with Vivi, that scene with Alonso and Isadora was stellar. She is so good at playing the baddie. In fact, I can't even picture her playing a good character. This fits her so well.
Was that Ximena who texted Alonso pretending to be Estevez? I would think that Al had Xi's phone number in his contact list and her name would come up that it was from her phone. Details, details.
I loved Aaron apologizing to the padre about how he talked to Dion. That was cute.
This show sure has taken a serious plot turn and has become action packed. Since my TV listing is always wrong, I would appreciate it if we kept ourselves updated about the schedule over the holidays. I would hate to miss any episode.
I don't think Xi was the one who sent that text to All. I wouldn't be surprised if Isa had a burn phone just for that purpose. I don't think Xi is aware of even half of Isa's plans.
ReplyDelete5ft - Thanks. Great title. "Dude! I'm not any fonder of your wife than you are, but you married her. Stick it back in your pants..." - lol
ReplyDeleteXimena is in way over her head. If Gussie were astute she'd see her reactions are not quite right. I wonder if Francisco will notice.
Juanita - ITA about Camila telling her kidnapper his voice was familiar. Bruno's a loose cannon, getting off on his control over her. If/when she realizes it's Bruno, hope she doesn't let on.
Agree the Al-Hiss scene was the best of the night. So film noir.
I hope Camila realizes that Ximena set her up. So if "Alonso" really is behind her kidnapping, Ximena is in on it too.
ReplyDeleteAnd since Alonso & Ximena have been on the outs, who is Ximena working with?
Is the actor who plays the lawyer Salomon the same one who plays a cop in Amores Verdaderos? They look very similar.
ReplyDeleteYes, he is, Gobluefan.
ReplyDeleteI think Alonssso is going down soon and that will be sooner than I expected.
I don't recognize the actress who plays the young Hissadora. IMDB has a number of actors listed whose roles aren't spelled out and she is probably one of them.
The actress who plays young Isa was last in Una Famila Con Suerte as the super fresa bff of one of the young protagonists. Her real name is Mariluz Bermúdez. Her name was Karina in Familia and she was in love with/obsessed with the actor who is playing Yago. Yes, she is very pretty and a good choice to play young Isa/Leticia C.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMariluz' bio says she is Costa Rican and came to Mexico to persue acting, like so many others. She was in Cameleones before Familia. Her mother was Ms. Costa Rica 1977-- not surprising.
ReplyDeleteLeti Calderon is SOOOO good as a villain, it's hard to believe that she once played such goody goody characters. The first tn I ever saw was her playing the title role of Esmeralda with Fernando C as the galan. After nearly 2 decades of not watching tns, it took me a while to compute that it was the same actress when I saw her as Tia Carloca in En Nombre de Amor. I was blown away. Around that time they were showing repeats of Esmeralda in the daytime, so I saw a bit of it again. I remembered how beautiful she was, and my memory was correct. But when she played David Zapeda's mother for a short stint in La Fuerza del Desino not long after ENDA, I was amazed by how easily she went back into playing the good, nurturing role.
See, I only first saw LC as Alicia in LFDD as the good character, so it's a delight to see her as a baddie in this program.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I'd ever seen Lucero was as Barbara Greco, and I couldn't believe she mainly played good characters.
I think if I had seen Angelique Boyer's Elisa BEFORE I saw her Teresa, I would've enjoyed AdP more, because after seeing her as this calculating vixen in Teresa, it was a let down to see her crying and whimpering all the time as Elisa. The same goes for Livia Brito's Paloma. I saw her as the fiesty, spoiled Fernanda in TdA first, so it was a let down to see her as a wimpy, clingwrap chick in AdP.
I'd like to see Margarita Magana as a good girl; I've only ever seen her as a spoiled brat. Same for Altair Jarabo.
I was thinking that it is a shame that both Alonso and Ximena are willing to trade lives for freedom from jail. Ximena was a thief, not a murderer. So she might do some time, but it shouldn't be that much. Yet, she's willing to basically kill her sister and brother in exchange for getting some money and not going to jail. Sad and selfish. I'm hoping that Alonso will give Daniel some kind of clue to lead him in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteAnon207- Margarita was a good girl with sass in Un Gancho al Corazon. That's the first role I saw her in before seeing her play bratty/bitchy characters in Teresa and as the young Fina/Pepa in CME. In Gancho, she was Estrella Falcon, ACTRIZ! :)Very funny.
ReplyDeleteAnon207- The Elisa character was horrid, and so was the Paloma character, whether or not you had seen those actresses play bad girls beforehand. There was nothing likeable about those two characters. There is a difference between being a good girl (Vivi, Camila), and being annoying (Elisa, Paloma).
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame we can't find Yo Compro Esa Mujer on disc or online because that is where I first saw Leticia Calderon. She was the heroine and she was clever and didn't take crap from anyone. When this story was folded into Corazon Salvaje in 2009's production (the most recent novela de epoca from Televisa as far as I know) I was furious when I saw what Aracely Arambula did with the character. She was made up to look like the young LC but had no depth.
ReplyDeleteHeroines who aren't complete idiots during certain phases of the story are sadly not the norm.
I know this won't happen because it makes too much sense, but I hope that Alonso would call Dan back after Isa leaves and tell him the truth. Then he could leave town.
ReplyDeleteAl won't do that because he still has a selfish motive-- he wants MQ in his name so that he can get out of the mess he's in with the developers. He seems to stupidly think that Isa would keep her word to allow him to keep MQ, split the earnings with him, free Camila, and let him walk off into the sunset with his cut of the money. I don't know about the rest of you, but I certainly don't think that that is REALLY what Isa has planned. She's also speaking with Xi and Dio about "sharing/splitting", but we know her thought bubbles are all about ME, ME, ME!
ReplyDeleteHissadora won't share anything with anyone except blame that is first assigned to her.
ReplyDeleteAlonssso is just as disposable to her as anyone else is.
Announcement: I just schedule-posted a weekend discussion based on the events in tonight's episode. I will be at the Met watching Les Troyens, which has an early curtain time because of its length. I will be logging off in a few minutes to begin getting ready.
ReplyDeleteVivi, if that's truly the case with Alonso, then I will not waste any more time feeling sorry for the schmuck. He has an out, if he decides to stay with Isa and her plan, he deserves what he gets.
ReplyDeleteI doubt Isa would let Alonso "walk away" after he gets Daniel to sign over Malquerida to him. He's a dead man...his only option is to pull a Salomon and flee Mexico.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat, you nailed many of the details that went over my head. For ex. I didn't understand why Alonzo went to that hotel. Before Isa showed up, I thought perhaps he was going to meet a prostitute (since Xi was no longer providing the booty calls) :-)
ReplyDeleteThe advances have me anxiously awaiting tonight's episode even though it's bound to just go far enough to leave us hanging suspensful over the weekend.
FiveFt--Been out all day, just wanted to stop by and say what a great recap this was. You conveyed all the tension with a surprising amount of humor. I liked the cow reference, too.
ReplyDeleteFoxy--I didn't catch that either, about the hotel room. Who did he arrange to have the meeting with..was it Isa all along?
I did feel sorry for Al for one hot second while Isa held the gun on him and forced him to make that phone call. Too bad he didn't call her bluff--she did say she wasn't going to kill him, using the gun was the only way to get his attention. I'm surprised he didn't pee in his pants. I think he realizes she's probably right about hers being the only way to get him out of his predicament. That was a clever tie in for Bruno to "take" the call from Mr. Alonso in Camila's presence. Hissyfit probably has no intention of "saving" Al. She probably intends to turn him in and then shrug her shoulders and tell him there's nothing more she can do. Then it's on to Ximena.
Father Franky needs to step out of the shadows and help uncover some of these alliances--soon.
Poor Daniel, trapped in Vivi's house while the love of his life had been kidnapped. I felt for him. Then to find out it was Al doublecrossing him....poor Dan.
I hope Camila also remembers it was Xi who told her about Maja. She should wonder what Xi was doing in the cabana in the first place.
Thanks for the great recap, 5 ft Latina! It is a great episode. I am also guilty of peeking ahead and when I saw the last couple episodes, I couldn’t help myself and peeked at the next few as well. Each was so good, I couldn’t stop. Definitely do not miss the show for the next week or so!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who kept thinking that Alonso could wrestle that gun away from Isa pretty easily? For half of their conversation, she was just waving it around vaguely.
Interesting to hear about the actors in previously roles. I was surprised recently to see a much younger Caya in that old Spanish language teaching fake telenovela, “Destinos”. And then I was really surprised to recognize it was set at none other than our La Malquerida.
I guess Al knew that Isa knew he could never pull the trigger if he managed to get the gun. But they both know Isa would have no problem ordering Cami's death if she didn't get what she wants. Basically Isa has bigger huevos and they both know it.
ReplyDeleteKat thanks for this great recap and happy to hear you won't be that busy for the holidays. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteI think Dio or someone from the Scooby gang will figure out Al isn't the master mind behind the double cross (guess).
