Trash Can de Oscar
the Grouch (aka Franciso “Paco” Fernandez) Araceli asks Paco why he never
sued Octavio Ripoll and Martin Coria for stealing the recipes of his delectable
delicacies. “Why would I want to do that?”
asks Paco. Araceli tells her father that
his friends’ betrayal turned him into a bitter man. She wants to know what he was like
before. Was he always like this? Paco orders her not to make any trouble for
Ripoll. Do not sue them.
A while later, over lunch, Lupe apologizes for getting Paco
in trouble with Araceli. Paco tells Lupe
that he told Araceli the truth about the recipes. Lupe agrees with Araceli that Paco should sue
the Ripoll factory. We You will be rich! Paco says that the past is bitter; he doesn’t
want to think about the it. He was sad
for the last 30 years and now he wants to be happy for the rest of his
life. Lupe tells him that should find a
woman to be happy with. He grabs her
hand and tells her that chatting with her makes him happy.
Later, at the store, Paco thinks about how he has wasted 30
years pining for a woman that has never thought about him. He now wants to spend the rest of his life
(in poverty, because he refuses to sue) being happy with the woman who has stuck
by him. He thinks of Lupe, who is certainly
thinking of the potential bazillions he will win from the lawsuit.
The Den of Liars and Thieves
(Ripoll Chocolate Factory) The happy couple enters Sophia’s office. Sophia kisses Patrick and hurries off to her
office. Once alone, Silvana asks Patrick
about his hot night with Sophia. Patrick
compares his night with Sophia to being with an ice cube. As he kisses her neck, Silvana turns her butt
to him. She tells him that she is happy
that his night went so well. He slaps
her on the butt and goes into Sophia’s office.
Patrick obtains permission from Sophia to use Chava today. He then goes down to the employee lounge and
gives Chava a pile of papers. Chava is to
take them to a client, wait for the client’s signature and bring the papers
back. Patrick snaps his fingers and thumps
the driver on the chest.
Later, in Patrick’s office, Chava returns and slams the
signed documents down on Patrick’s desk.
Patrick and Chava begin trading
insults. Patrick tells Chava that things
will change as soon as he marries Sophia.
Patrick picks up the document and tries to hit Chava in the face with
it, but Chava knocks it out of his hand and onto the floor. Chava tells Patrick that he won’t have to
fire him because he will quit if and when
they marry. Both men agree that they
want to punch each other in the face.
Over in Sophia’s office, Matias enters with a small piece of
chocolate that was made from the recipe that she gave him. Sophia tastes it and once again, I can’t tell
whether she’s having the big O or not.
Matias, like me, is also confused about her expression because he thinks
she’s upset because he’s screwed up the ingredients. He assures her that he followed the recipe
perfectly. She tells him that the candy
tastes exactly like the original. He
gives her back the copy of the recipe. The
receptionist calls her and tells her that she has a visitor.
Araceli, the visitor, reveals that she is Paco’s daughter
and she is going to sue Ripoll for Industrial Robbery. Octavio Ripoll and Martin Coria stole her
father’s recipes and profited off of them.
Sophia excuses herself and leaves to get Patrick. Meanwhile, in Patrick’s
office, he and Chava have agreed to meet and fight at a construction site at
8PM later on that night. Their argument is
interrupted when Sophia barges in. Both
men drop to the ground and pretend to pick up the papers that are still
scattered on the ground. Patrick should be careful because he has
much more to lose than Chava in a face punching contest. Patrick ‘s face is kind of pretty. Ahem.
In Sophia’s office, Araceli repeats to both Patrick and
Sophia that she plans on suing Ripoll.
Patrick tells her to BRING! IT!
ON! He will introduce her to the Ripoll
lawyers. After Patrick leaves, Araceli
tells Sophia not to take the lawsuit personally. It’s just business. She also asks that Sophia not let the lawsuit
prejudice her against Chava and Marisol.
They don’t know anything about the lawsuit.
After Araceli leaves, Sophia is freaked out about the
lawyers visit. Patrick doesn’t think that Paco
will prevail because he has no proof.
Sophia goes to the safe and removes the recipe book. She gives it to Patrick and tells him that
they are they the recipes of all of Coria’s creations. She tells him how Matias recreated their
first best-selling product from Paco's recipe book. Those recipes were only known to Coria; they were in his head. Patrick tells her to allow the lawyers to
handle it. She has to leave to spend
time with the family on Alexa’s last night in town. She asks that Patrick not bring up with
lawsuit with the family because it will stain her father’s reputation. Patrick will not be at dinner tonight because
he has to go bash Chava’s face in at the construction site.
Out in the hallway, Araceli runs into Chava and tells him that she is going to
sue Ripoll. He can’t hang out with
Araceli because he too has and important appointment to go bash Patrick’s face
in.
Imitation of Life
(Rico vs Pobre version) At breakfast, Miguelina tells Lucas that Daniella is a good girl
and that she was the first of Snobs to make her feel welcome at her job. Lucas only cares that Daniella lied to
him. A
thief with principles…who knew?
Dani encounters Lucas in the hallway and begs him to listen
to her. Lucas says that he’s not mad at her
for being rich; he’s mad because she lied to him. She insists that the only thing she lied
about was her last name. She loves
him. She commits an overt act of sexual harassment and
jumps him in the hallway. He pushes her
away and asks permission to get back to work.
Oh my gosh, this is just like the
scene where the white actress who pretends to be a black girl passing for a
white girl gets discovered as being a black girl her white boyfriend. (Except the part about the white boyfriend
beating the black girl for pretending to be a white girl within an inch of her life). Lucas, the "poor supremacist" tells Daniella to quit begging and to lose his number.
Lucas runs into Marisol and tells him that Daniella is
really a Ripoll. He doesn't want a rich girl, he'd rather rob people fair and square and make it on his own. Marisol suggests that
he quit his job in order to get far away from Daniella. Lucas finds Silvana and tells her that he is
thinking giving notice. Silvana tells
him to speak with Sophia and tell her why he’s quitting since she is the one
who recommended him.
Snobbery Hill (The AAA
Showdown) Fausto is sad. Alexa and Alan are travelling to Madrid tomorrow. Fausto asks Armando to study Alexa’s face in
the review mirror. If it appears like
she doesn’t really want to return to Madrid.
Convince her to stay in Mexico, bring her back to home and Fausto will
back her up.
A while later, Alexa finds Armando in the kitchen
alone. Armando tells her that he knows
that she’s only going to Madrid because she’s afraid that her family will find
out the truth about her. He tells her to
think about leaving. Alan comes in and
overhears the conversation and he and Armando begin to argue. Alan shoves Armando and tells him to stay out
of their business. Armando calls Alan a
lazy bum who made Alexa steal from her family.
Alexa gets between the two
men. Armando can’t understand why Alexa
stays with Alan. He tells Alan that
Alexa is a special woman who deserves to be treated well. He tells Alan not to mess her over. Alexa is flattered by Armando's words. Alan drags her away to pack. In her bedroom, Alan wants to go speak
with Greta so that he can get Armando fired. Alexa reminds him that they are leaving
tomorrow, firing Armando will not be necessary. Alan tries to paw her, but
Alexa turns him down. He thinks Alexa
stands by him because she loves him. He
says that she will kiss her when they get to Madrid. Alexa looks sick.
Other News Later,
Greta finds Alexa crying in her bedroom. She tells Alexa that she is proud of her
whether she has the Luc Besson movie or not.
Alexa calls Nandito and tells him that she is going back to
Madrid. Irma is happy that Alexa is
finally out of her hair.
Greta asks Armando to stay on. He will drive her, Fausto and Daniella
now.
Chava drives Sophia and Daniella home. Sophia dismisses him for the night. She tells him to go be happy with
Araceli. Chava stresses that he and
Araceli are just friends. His happiness
is found elsewhere. Once again, they
pause and stare at one another’s lips and he doesn’t kiss her.
I quickly write down one more reason on my “Why this Galan is Gay” list.

Con permisso!
Cynderella, thanks for the very entertaining recap. My favorite description was "trash can de Oscar the Grouch (aka Paco Fernandez)." You were on a roll with this one.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Alexa is suddenly stupid again. Dani needs to realize that Lucas is just another way to spell loser. Her begging made me cringe.
How can Paco's daughter Araceli sue the Ripoll company for them stealing the recipes when the recipes do not belong to her? They belong to Paco her father. They are his property not hers. He was wronged, not her.
I am all ready for the fight between Chava and Patricio even though the avances make it look like it is not going to turn out as I would like. Would Patricio fight dirty? Why do I even bother to ask?
Jarifa
Jarifa, Dani needs to FORGET about Lucas and don't look back!
ReplyDeleteCynderella, this was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteFrom the title to Trash Can de Oscar the Grouch (aka Franciso “Paco” Fernandez) to He now wants to spend the rest of his life (in poverty, because he refuses to sue) and others too numerous to mention, you provided us with warm wit and humor as well as always full blown details.
"Chava tells Patrick that he won’t have to fire him because he will quit if and when they marry". Fine. About time. I like the fiery Chava - sweet and sincere is nice but let's get some fire and passion stirred up here. And not only anger against Pato, but a little passion for Sopfia would be fitting as well. No more of this "Once again, they
pause and stare at one another’s lips and he doesn’t kiss her". Sigh.
"A thief with principles…who knew?". Exactly. The righeous indignation of the little liar and grifter who's been reformed for a NY minute made my blood boil. Jarifa, I'm with you. I kept thinking why is this wonderful young woman throwing her despairing self on this loser, begging him to forgive her? Yes, CD, Dani needs to forget him. Basta.
Araceli should mind her own business. Paco clearly told her he did not want to sue. What part of that was difficult to understand?
I think Irma's smirking satisfaction that Alexa will be out of sight and out of mind will be short lived. Why do I suspect Armando will be able to change her mind about leaving??
Thanks again Cynderella. This was superb.
Diana
Cynderella - Thanks for the fun. Loved this snark at my adorable Chava: Patrick should be careful because he has much more to lose than Chava in a face punching contest. Patrick’s face is kind of pretty. Ahem.
ReplyDeleteI'm okay with Araceli suing Ripoll, even against her Dad's wishes, but she should at least tell him what she's doing. Nice of her to let Sofia know that Chava and Marisol know nothing about her pressing the lawsuit.
Sofia showed Pato that she's got Paco's handwritten recipes locked in her safe. The lawsuit could cost Ripoll lots of money, even if Araceli loses. What will Pato do?
Lucas is a poor boy with no good new job prospects and a past theft arrest who needs to help supplement his hardworking grandmother's meager salary. Sure, why not simply quit his job because his girlfriend lied? Simpleton.
My favorite scene was when Sofia walks in on Chava and Pato and the two instantly stopped jabbing at each other and pretended to be civil.
Diana, you should be Pedro's director. I know you could help him summon the needed passion in his kissing scenes. Maybe he should pretend he’s angry with Sofia?
Niecie, I would advise Pedro to view Gone with the Wind, advising him to pay rapt attention to the specific scene where Rhett without regard to thought, decorum or reason, grabs Scarlett and kisses her with such fever and passion she was rendered weak, shocked, confused and utterly delighted.
ReplyDeleteNow there are many examples, but to me that was the ultimate kiss.
Diana
Diana, Rhett Butler was acvery good example. Self confidence is very attractive in a man.
ReplyDeleteJarifa
Cynderella, once again you had me laughing out loud especially with "Pato has more to lose than Chava".
ReplyDeletePato seemed genuinely concerned about Araceli's threatened lawsuit. I didn't get that since his plan is to bankrupt the company and sell the land. Wouldn't a lawsuit play right into that? Or maybe he's afraid that a lawsuit would give Paco a claim to the factory?
Lucas is a dope. Dani should forget him. There are far, far better fish in the sea.
I liked how Nandito took Alexa's phone call, the way he sat back on the couch with a little swagger. Too cute!
I absolutely loved the argument between Chava and Patrick. It was awesome. I was beginning to like Chava and then he had to hesitate on the kiss...it's annoying. Rhett Butler was a good kisser, but I think the best kiss scene is at the end of Bridgett Jones. She's all like, "nice guys do not kiss like that"!
ReplyDeleteOK, so I think Araceli should stand up for her father who can't/won't stand up for himself. She's trying to make him happy since she has never seen him happy. She was deprived of that. I get it. I think she should tell him that she's doing it.
Lupe doesn't appear to be on board with Paco courting her. He has told her several times that he's interested. Is she playing hard to get? Um, OK, I would be throwing my bra at Paco. His voice is amazing. I'm easy. I know.
Xlnt, I loved your screen shot: "Not reason, I just like looking at Armando". I cracked up.
ReplyDeleteAraceli suing the Ripoli's will not end well.
ReplyDeleteHave a bad feeling that someone like Paco will try to hire someone to kill her, just saying.
On Paco telling Araceli to forget about the past: he's right about this one, better off moving on.
ReplyDeleteKnowing Araceli's job as a lawyer, she'll ignore Paco's advice and go ahead with the lawsuit.
Well Paco doesnt want to sue Ripoll because Sofia is sctually HIS daughter, right?
