Casa de McDreamy
Straight to the new stuff: Irma jumps into bed with the
unsuspecting Armando --- ooopsies, not so fast sister. Armando jumps up wondering how in blazes did
she get into his apartment. Irma tries
to explain that she just wants to work things out with him and apparently she
still moves him, que no? Absolutely not,
he claims. He was fast asleep. When is she gonna get it through her thick
skull that he will never, ever, ever return to her. He doesn’t desire her and doesn’t love
her. He realizes suddenly that she’s
drunk and she claims that was the only way she could muster up the nerve to
come to him, as humiliating as that is.
He tells her to get dressed and get out.
He sees the concierge’s key (he that stands guard with no shelter during
rain, sleet, and snow, I guess) and quickly realizes that’s how she got
in. He drags Irma to the Concierge’s
desk. Concierge has no idea how she got
his keys. Armando warns him he’d better
pay closer attention and not to ever let anyone into his apartment without his
authorization. He leaves Irma there and
tells the concierge to get her a taxi.
Casa Ripol
Sophie is recalling Flor’s story of how Chava took advantage
of her and dumped her. She also
remembers Patricio’s words describing Chava’s shortcomings.
The following morning, Fausto brings Greta her morning
coffee and tries to go back to things as normal while expressing his gratitude
at her change of heart. She coldly tells
him he has Patricio to thank for that and suggests they hire a nurse to take
care of her needs so he can dedicate himself full time to the management of the
house. Fausto runs into Alexa in the
hallway and she tries to cheer him up, saying Greta’s sure to come around.
Casa de Paco
Irma arrives in the morning to pick up Nando. She tells Aracely things didn’t quite go
according to plan. Aracely isn’t surprised.
Flor’s motel room
Renzi and Patricio are getting the rundown on what happened
when Flor and her “parents” told Sophie all about Chava. They’re all having a good laugh at how well
it went. Patricio instructs them to keep
in touch with “Ricardo” for further instructions.
Casa de Chava
Aracely asks Chava to join her in her research on the real estate
scam. She criticizes him for wanting to
rush off to work with la guerita. If she
were in Sophie’s shoes, she would never believe a story of him deceiving a
woman and playing her wrong. She brings
him closer and tells him to look in her eyes and see the intense love she feels
for him. Sophie will never look at him
this way. They lean in and kiss. Unfortunately, Sophia is parked across the
street with Fausto and witness said kiss.
Ay, ay, ay. Meanwhile, Chava
gently rejects Aracely – again – and wishes her well.
Across the street, a tearful Sophie tells Fausto it appears
she no longer needs an explanation from Chava and asks him to drive away.
Casa Romero
Irma is nursing her hangover when Armando walks in. She apologizes but blames him for driving her
to drink. She just gets so angry that he
doesn’t acknowledge stuff in front of the therapist. He promises to share everything next time but
warns her not to go against him, Nando, or Alexa. Irma assures him she won’t. (yeah, right)
Rehab Center
Doc wants to speak with Silvana alone – he tells her his
colleagues are concerned Christian will relapse if he’s released. He’s willing to take the chance but wanted
her to understand the risks and what role she plays in Christian’s recovery. He needs a lot of attention. Christian will never be completely cured and
will need her support and all his will power daily to succeed. She’s willing and ready for anything he
needs. The decision will be made this
afternoon.
Christian is waiting in the hallway. She doesn’t share what the doctor told her
about his concerns. Christian swears
he’ll do everything he can to make her proud of him. He’ll get a job and work very hard.
As she’s leaving, she runs into Oliver. Hey, whatcha doing here? She tells him she’s doing some charity work
and he tells her he’s there for a “friend”.
Ripoll Plant
Sophie arrives with Fausto.
Fausto is worried about her.
She’s mad at herself for falling for Chava’s line, just as Flor and
Aracely did before her. Fausto still
can’t believe it even after seeing Chava with Aracely. Sophie is so hurt and angry. Fausto gives her his tried and true pep talk,
telling her she will overcome.
Matias & Irais share pan dulce and a hot chance for a
Chocolate Abuelita promo.
Elsewhere Dani and Lucas are friends again. He explains he’s done with boxing. He was taken in by the management and he’s
sworn to his abuela that his boxing days are over. Marisol sees them talking and immediately
gets jealous. Dani tells her to chill
and leaves. Lucas also tells her to
chill and also walks away from her.
Lupita warns Javier he’d better not be taking advantage of
her kids. They’re checking out a rooftop
apartment that looks as though it’s seen better days. He pulls out the guitar and starts singing to
her and she cries. She tells him to stop
and wipes away her tears. Well, it
worked cuz she pulls out a few pesos so he can get himself something to
eat. Lupita looks as though she’s mad at
herself for falling for it again as she walks away. Meanwhile that skunk looks after her and
says this is just the beginning of what he’s gonna take from her. Before he’s done, he plans to be back home
with her tending to him just as a wife should.
I repeat, Skunk.
Rehab Center
Now it’s Oliver’s turn with the good doctor and describes
his mother’s drinking problem; how she didn’t like the AA meeting, saying she
would prefer a more personal type of treatment plan, even though she denies
having a problem. Doc explains mom needs
to be the one who realizes she needs help.
Ripoll Plant
Chava arrives, looking for Sophie. ruh-roh
He runs into Armando who tells him about his run in with Irma. In turn, Chava shares his family story. Pops is moving out and he and Marisol will
help him. He correlates this with the
hope that Sophie will believe in him just as he believes in his Pops.
In her office, Sophie is telling Sylvana about how wonderful
Patricio was in helping to bring Fausto back home. Sylvana jokes that Sophie now has two
“Super-heroes” but Sophie can’t hide her feelings. She admits that she was duped and fell for a
womanizer. She clarifies she’s speaking
of Chava. She relates the story of Flor
and her “parents”. Sylvana had no idea
Chava had this effect on women (it is this recapper’s humble opinion that the
new and improved Chava could certainly have this effect – haha). “Well, he does”, says Sophie. “Moreover, I saw him kissing Aracely.” She cries on Sylvana’s shoulder as Sylvana
thoughtbubbles that Patricio has managed to undermine Chava.
Sylvana later tells Sophie she’s sure Chava cares for
her. He’s always been there for her,
anticipating her every need. Sophie’s
not interested in hearing any praise when she’s convinced she’s nothing more
than another name on Chava’s list of conquests.
She wants to close the subject and Sylvana leaves. Chava arrives at just his moment but he
learns from Sophie’s secretary that she’s too busy to receive him. Aw.
Archivos Notarias
Clerk gives Aracely a huge boxload of paper work.
Casa Peralta
Oliver tells Mums about the Rehab center and gives her the
pamphlet. She doesn’t even look at it
before putting it in her purse. She and Morgana
leave.
Back at Planta Ripoll
Alexa heads for another meltdown. Irais tells her she overheard the
conversation between Armando and Chava.
Now Alexa knows about Irma’s visit and she freaks out, saying Irma is
capable of anything to keep him. She
ends up sobbing on Irais shoulder.
Paco’s Stand
Irma brings the good news that Javier is moving out. Paco’s convinced Javier is only out to win
her back. She tells him she’s only
interested in forgetting the past and concentrating on the future. She reminds him now that Javier has gone…….maybe
they could start things up again? Paco
tells her they can talk when she has the divorce decree in hand. He does want to be with her but wants to make
sure they do things correctly. She
thinks he’s going back on his word. No,
he says. He’s true to his word and only
asks she do the same.
Planta Ripoll
Chava tells Armando Sophie doesn’t seem to want to see
him. Armando asks for his help with a
machine part. (Why is the mechanic
running around the administrative offices carrying a piece of machinery?) Alexa comes up and demands to know what
happened last night with Irma. Armando
is like a deer in the headlights.
ruh-roh He explains Irma arrived
unannounced and he kicked her out. He
assures her nothing will happen between Irma and him. Alexa needs reassurance. He tells her he once loved Irma very much but
no longer. There is another woman in his
life now and although he can’t be with her, he has her in his heart. aw
Patricio and Sophie are discussing business but she’s not
paying attention. She admits she’s
thinking of Chava but explains she’d rather not talk about it.
Casa Ripoll
Greta is in her studio with Isadora. Fausto arrives to offer drinks and Isadora
asks for a Vodka and tonic, of course.
She notices Greta seems out of sorts and wonders if the visit is
upsetting her. Greta says she’s been
having problem after problem, especially with The Help, who lately have
betrayed her. Fausto hears this. Well, Isadora is very happy with Morgana, in
whom she has the utmost confidence.
Speaking of Helga, er…. I mean, Morgana, she’s on the phone with Mr.
Peralta reporting all the goings on of Isadora: her visit to AA, and Oliver’s
search for personalized care. She tells
him not to worry, she knows exactly what she needs to do. bwa-ha-ha
Back in Greta’s studio, Isadora is praising Greta’s artwork. Greta receives a call from……she won’t say
whom but the call has upset her.
Later, Fausta is in search of Greta but The Help don’t know
where she is.
Aha! We see Greta
walking in a park……..with Paco! She
wants to put an end to this once and for all.
Paco responds by saying he wants the answer for which he’s been waiting
30 years!
Planta Ripoll
Sophi finally agrees to see Chava.. He starts with his usual charm and wants to
assure her that she is the only woman he loves.
“Good,” she says, “Because I’ve also clarified my feelings. I’ve learned
that there is a great difference between love and passion. Passion is something fleeting that I wanted
to experience with you. And love…..well
it’s something I’ve experienced with Patricio, a worthy man who I never should
have left for someone like you!” (ouch)
Back at the Park
Greta doesn’t want Paco to keep seeking her out and he tells
her he only wants an answer to what he’s suspected for 30 years: Is Sophia his daughter? This causes Greta to have quick flashbacks of
her life: telling Octavio she’s preggers
and him calling her a loser. Back in the
present, Paco pleads with her to tell him if she was pregnant with his child
when she married Octavio. More
flashbacks: at the altar and Octavio ordering her to swear she will never tell
Paco she’s carrying his child and to swear Paco will never learn how he,
Octavio, made his fortune. Another
flashback of Paco telling her he has no interest in knowing why she abandoned
him because it’s no mystery that ambition and self-interest drove her decision
to abandon him. Back in the present,
Paco is pleading with her to deliver him from this anguish. Greta takes a breath but doesn’t
respond. Paco takes this as a yes
but……..Greta says, “Sophia is Octavio’s daughter.” (dramatic music – tan, tan, tan, TAN, boom,
tan, tan, tan, TAN)
Another Ripoll is having a dramatic scene of her own: Sophia.
Chava is in disbelief. What he
feels in his heart is what they discovered, lived, together. “No,” says Sophie, “It was a mistake. What I have with Patricio is real. He’s given
me love, support, security, and above all trust.” Chava understands her doubts and realizes it
has to do with that woman, Flor. Does
she still believe he deceived Flor? “I
have no doubts,” she says. “I’m sure you did just that.” Aw, man, Chava is screwed.
Paquitadelbarrio, thanks for a great recap. I especially liked your apt description of Javier as the "skunk" and "Casa de McDreamy".
ReplyDeleteJavier is too good at playing them all. I will go back to my initial assessment: Lupe should have had control of own household and never allowed her daughter to let Javier in no matter how ill he was.
The best part: Armando physically removing crazy Irma and telling the concierge the rules.
The worst part: Salvador playing kissy face with Araceli. There was NO excuse for that. He did not have to kiss her, so, no matter what he told her, she got a double message. He gets what he deserves from Sofía.
The most annoying part: Alexa telling Fausto that he just needs to give her mother Greta a few days and she will be her old self and then adding her signature obnoxious phrase: "que te lo digo yo" which she says just about every episode.
Jarifa
I'm surprised no one is annoyed by her rather loud and random, "OSTUAS!" I love Ostuas but it may not taste right in the mouth of others.
DeleteJarifa, Chava deserves to get trashed by Sophia.
ReplyDeletePaco being PLAYED FOR A FOOL again: he kept getting his hopes up & Greta says Octavio is Sophia's father. Expect Paco to become an alcoholic & go into deep depression.
Steve: I too believe Chava walked into this. With Grrrrreta once again lying to Pacman, I now am almost on the dark side. If Silv, Pato , et all succede it will be almost worth the collateral damage to see Grrrreta evicted, and see the look on Sofia's face when it all comes out.
DeleteChava and Armie can become famous racers with Fausto still employed by them. Alexa can be Mrs. Armie. Chava can marry Araceli, and Sofia and Grrreta can get real jobs that do not involve Rolls Royce cars. Just a thought. :-)
I'll laugh my butt off if that happens because as Sophia's buji-ism continues & her likely marriage to Patrick will result pushing Chava right into Araceli's arms & other areas.
DeleteAlexa & Armando are all but going to be together sooner or later just once Irma gets killed off.
Thanks for the recap Paquitadelbarrio. Jarifa you stole the words right out of my mouth. It's really irritating when the Ripoll sisters make excuses for Greta's bitchy behaviour. I wasn't surprised when Lupe defended Javier last night; Paco doesn't have to put up with her until she decides who she wants to be with.
ReplyDeleteI loved it when Silvi and Oliver ran into each other and I have a feeling their stories will intertwine somehow.
WTF was Dummy thinking kissing Araceli? It is a given that every time he talks to her she is going to try. My neighbors dog is the same....get too close -- you are getting your face licked.
ReplyDeleteAraceli wants Chava bad it's not even funny!
DeleteThat's hilarious, Kirby!
DeleteUgh, HEFDM is starting to venture into Que Bonito Amor territory with this emotional tennis match of Sofia's. That's why I stopped watching QBA.
ReplyDeleteAt least in LQLVMR, at one point when Maria positioned herself with Alejandro, Montse just laughed at her because she knew what Maria was trying to do. Sofia (or the writers) won't use common sense with this whole bizarre Flor thing. Sofia doesn't ask questions, just stands there dumbly chewing her cud.
Paquitadelbarrio, at least I have you and the other recappers so I can follow along when I am too disgusted to watch.
Thanks!
Anita, "chewing her cud" is perfect. She sure is a woman of "inaction".
ReplyDeleteJarifa
Paquitadelbarrio, this is awesome.
ReplyDelete"Aw, man, Chava is screwed."
But, I have no sympathy for the guy, he's been too much a lap dog toward Sofia (she ain't no prize and agree with Anita, dumbly chews her cud) and coming back to the factory was a huge mistake. His kissing Araceli was just stupid and no excuse for it. Go racing Chava and bask in the adoration of some pit groupies.
I thought Alexa was saying "Ostras!" According to google, aside from oysters, its a saying meaning "gosh", or "gee". I had to look it up. I kind of like it myself. Beats saying my usual four letter words for exasperation.
ReplyDeletePoor Fausto, he was looking for sympathy and all he got was "she'll get over it." Yikes
Armando doesn't realize what he's getting himself into. I know Irma did him wrong by lying about Nandito but aside from that, he's put up with a lot of grief with this woman and somehow muddled through. I guess the Nandito lie was too much to bear. But, I don't know, Alexa seems to be very high maintenance. Any setback and she's goes into manic, panic attack mode.
I completely agree with you, Tofie. I also have no sympathy for Chava. As many TN characters, he just can't say no to a kiss (sometimes a drunken roll in the hay), then says, "Are you gonna believe what you see? ...or what I tell you."
Like I said, he's screwed.
Paquita, this was terrific! Welcome to the recapping team. ;)
ReplyDeleteChava can only be keeping Araceli close for one reason - she's his rebound girl, just as Pedro was her rebound guy. I don't feel sorry for Chava because he never seems to know when to keep his distance. Araceli has already told him she wants to get back together and his response has been with words and not actions. If he really doesn't want Araceli to get the wrong idea he needs to stay away. Now even Fausto doubts Chava.
Silvana is too invested in Pato to let his relationship with Sofia get back on track. I expect some sabotage there.
I have to admit this TN is starting to get boring. We need more Fuzzy Tavares and some actual snooping into the past by Paco and Araceli.
And DZ still does nothing for me.
Looks like Araceli will have her way with Chava for awhile.
DeletePaquita, unfortunately Armando has a penchant for crazy girls that need rescuing.
ReplyDeleteJarifa
Hey Paquita! I just saw that you are jumping on to this recapping team. How wonderful. You are a fantastic recapper.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vivi!!
DeleteIrma's deformed left breast implant was rather gross to look at during the scene of her attempted seduction with Armando.
ReplyDelete@ Corazonsalvaje
ReplyDeleteThank you! I do not have captions on my TV and it was driving me crazy wondering what on earth Alexa was saying! I kept going back and forth in assuming she was saying "Monsgtra" or "Ostra". I don't even know what "Ostra" means. Can you please tell me what "Ostuas" means? Thank you!
*Monstra*
ReplyDeletePaquitadelbarrio, fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so late but your debut on this line was simply great.
I'm getting a bit frustrated with the pace - of course nothing that many more Matias sightings couldn't cure;)
I also loved "Casa de McDreamy" among others.
I agree Jarifa, the Chava/Araceli kiss lasted way too long. He's always pulled away before, why not now?
Diana
Paquita is awesome for helping us out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cyndi. I've been out of the loop for awhile.
