El Color de Pasion#56? - Threats and Regrets

Parte 1

True friends, maybe not.  We find that Magdalena can’t handle the truth, that Ricardo Marquez was a scum bucket, sure but that he was first a scum bucket with her new BFF, Sara, is more than she can bear.  Her old fiancé has a 25 yr. old kid with her new BFF.  “--Lo  siento, pero no puedo con éso. “

That kid, Leti, cannot handle the news that her ma’s new BFF is now formally engaged and planning her honeymoon with heart throb de Mario, her new boss.  She seeks out Mama for some consolation and finds Mama in the arms of her BFF’s  papi.  Meanwhile, Mama Sara has been telling heart throb and a man for all seasons, Alonso, that she feels so alone.  He tells her he’s been thinking since that last scene his wife, Rebeca, made that it would have been quite different if he’d found a woman like her instead to spend his hunky man life with.  Alas too late…..Leti immediately jumps to bad conclusions and races away in a snit.

Mags meets up with Marioat the travel agency and tells Mario they have more important things to discuss right now.  She’s too addled to discuss frivolities like honeymoon trips.  They go for coffee and she tells him Sara’s news and how nasty she was to her.  She thinks it was Sara who forced him to return to her because of the pregnancy, tho’ Sara told her he doesn’t know and never must.  He tells her she’s too sensitive, especially where Ricardo Marquez is concerned, and (points for Mario here) how it was wrong for her to have held Sara responsible for Ric’s randy, rapscallion behavior just because Mags thinks the woman should have told her by now.  She obviously had her reasons for keeping quiet.

Vino el Amor 11/29/16 Chapter 22: Where in the World is Sonia?

Some scenes have been combined.

El Pasado
Lilian and Gutierrez in bed. Euww, yuck, better to just close your eyes and listen to the Brit and the Anglo-Hispanic whisper sweet nothings (and nothing it is).
Fernanda and Friends and Margaritas. Tipsy, topsy, mopsies talk about unrequited love--Fer’s, that is.

El Presente
Patio denizens finally get the skinny on Tano’s mother. Ramón has been telling Tano he wants him to further his education, not because he isn’t proud of him, but he wants him to get ahead. Tano wants to send his mother some money because her birthday is coming soon and he hopes it doesn’t bother Ramón too much. He replies, that no, even though they ended it (terminaron—maybe it’s a euphemism for divorced) a long time ago, he thinks strong family ties are important and should be maintained. Tano adds that he is grateful to Marta for the affection she showed him growing up here and grateful to his dad for making sure he never lacked for anything.

Fer is staggering home in the full light of day. She stops by the fountain at the foot of the long drive up to the house to call Tano on her cell. He isn’t answering. She’s surely suffering from a hangover and is contentedly pissed. She leaves him a voice mail saying that she has something very important to tell him and if he doesn’t answer, she’ll just march (stagger) up to his house.

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #55. Monday November 28, 2016. Why The Frack Do They Keep Fracking With The Fonsecas?

Over the phone, Adrián expresses his condolences to Paulina on the untimely passing of his love rival. He seems affected by her pain but he gets married to Triana nonetheless in a beachside “gypsy” ceremony. I’ll spare you the details. It was mad cringey and I don’t do well with cringe.

Gastón confronts The Gonz about the beating (la golpiza) he received. He has filed a police report and if something else were to happen to him, the hot fuzz will be on The Gonz like flies on fresh pig dung. The Gonz offers Dr. Beddable a big fat cheque if he dumps Inés. Gastón declines. Instead, he lectures The Gonz on the noble nature of true love that transcends all societal prejudices and on the importance of keeping it in one’s pants.

Inés brings her grieving friends a casserole dish prepared by Mica. Raquel has trouble remembering her departed son’s name and denies there is a Mica living in her house. Alfonso confides to Inés that Raquel has displayed some worrying memory lapses ever since they returned from Camilo’s burial (sepelio). Oh, grrreat! The writers have it in for the Fonsecas!

El Color de la Pasión #55 (Hulu/Uni #54), 11/28/16: Lucia Gets Pushback

Color Patio Peeps-- I just watched the episode, but my dvr is acting screwy and won’t let me rewatch the episode to recap. This will therefore be a quick and dirty recap from memory. Please add anything I missed in the comments.

The Old:
-A very shaky Rebeca blames Magdalena for her being such a horrible human being, since Magdalena was always judging her for, you know, coveting her sister’s husband and being such a beyotch to everyone, instead of just supporting her.
-Lucia learns from Marcelo that Rebeca used her mother’s name when she had her affair with Federico.
-Lucia slaps Rebeca and tries to rip the hair out of her head, as she orders her to get out of the house, NOW! Alonso interrupts and Lucia orders Rebeca to tell Al how she’s been misusing her mother’s name!

The New:
Al gets riled up by the thought of Rebeca defiling Adriana’s name, and orders her to tell him what Lucia is talking about. Then he orders Lucia out of the room, so that he and Rebeca can speak privately. Lucia refuses to leave, stating that if she does, Rebeca will just twist the truth and lie her way out. Al’s already clutching at his heart attack arm and getting more worked up by the second, so Lucia obeys. Just as Lucia thought, Rebeca lies and claims she’s been running up credit card and shopping tabs in Adriana’s name. She claims she just wanted to feel for a little while what it was like to be the beloved Adriana. She continues to mix truth and lies (the mark of an expert liar) by claiming Lucia found out when one of the stores in Mexico City, where she had run up a bill, called asking for Adriana and Lucia answered the call. Even though this indiscretion is far tamer than the real one, Al gets angry enough about Rebeca abusing Adriana’s name this way, that the arm clutching and yelling intensify and he once again moves into the guest bedroom.

Vino el Amor 11/28/16 Chapter 21: Bad Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Lillian announced the theft of Lisa's earrings and that all employees' possessions would be searched. As she did so she and the younger vitches all stared at Luciana while Marta and Susan looked around in disbelief.
Graciela was congratulating Fernanda, who wasn't entirely alright with this. She got up to go to tell her father the truth. Graciela stopped her before she could leave the room. Fernanda was concerned at how this would hurt Marta, whom she loved. [Does this girl have redeeming qualities after all? ¡Que sorpresa!] Graciela said “Sometimes we have to do things that aren't so good. When you have an objective everything is worth it. What we want is for Luciana to get out of here. Yes or no?.”

El Color De La Pasion #54 (Hulu #53): Let the Slap-a-thon Begin!

Rebeca tells Lucia that Marcelo is using her to get revenge and she fell right into his trap.

Nora is trying to prepare a sandwich for Rebeca and is failing miserably. Tere lets her know that this is the first time she’s seen her do anything (but scream and whine). Nora lets her know that she’s not as useless as everyone thinks. Tere then asks Nora (with her permission) why she doesn’t love Lucia. Nora tells her to go fly a kite. Tere tells her that it must be great to have someone in the world since she’s all alone. Nora can’t handle the truth so she screams at Tere to go away but as soon as Tere’s out of sight she screams at her to come back because she dropped something. She immediately takes it back and changes that she can do it all by herself.

Lucia declares that she believes nothing Rebeca is telling her. Marcelo did tell her about the mysterious woman her brother committed suicide over, just not her name. Rebeca tells her that she’s an idiot for believing Marcelo, who seduced her and then Lucia out of vengeance. Lucia screams at Rebeca to shut up as Nora knocks on the door. Rebeca dares Lucia to ask Marcelo what really happened and warns her to not let Alonso know anything because of his heart. Lucia almost knocks Nora over as she storms out of the room. Nora asks Rebeca what happened but she doesn’t answer. She tells her all she wants to do is sleep and sends her and her sandwiches away.

Marcelo is knocking on Lucia’s door as she’s walking outside. He tells her they need to talk when Lucia slaps him (drink!). Marcelo asks her what Rebeca told her. Lucia tells him that sufficient information to know the kind of man he is: he’s the worst man she’s ever known, worse than Rodrigo. Marcelo reminds her that they had a conversation pending but Lucia asks what he was going to tell her: how he seduced his aunt and then her, how he lied. Marcelo tries to plead his case but Lucia doesn’t want to hear it. She tells him that she slept with all three Gaxiola women because she’s sure he slept with Nora as well. Lucia tries to walk away but Marcelo tries to stop her so she slaps (drink!) him again. She warns him to leave her family alone or she’ll kill him.

A que no me dejas Episode 54 (11.25.16) How many people have to die for the truth to see the light?

People here are dropping like flies at a higher rate than the yellow fever. Who will be next?

This morning I felt like Nandicta when I noticed some connectivity problems and called AT&T. The girl said she would send a technician between 2 and 5pm and he arrived at 12:20 without calling first because she got my number wrong. I was hoping he would finish before 1pm but no, he finished exactly when Camilo was pronounced dead. Before that and while the technician worked, I could watch with low volume but could not take notes, so if the first 20 minutes feel jumpy this is the reason, sorry. Feel free to fill in the blanks.

We start this episode with everybody in the Hospital after Camilo's accident, because he was in a very bad shape. He was driving Paulina's car when he slide and rolled over, so he is now being taken care of while Paulina, the kids and everybody else except his parents, cry and pray for a miracle so he can recover.

Transition: Flashbacks
Paulina stars to flashback all her memories beside Camilo before entering his room, and conveniently, those are the same flashbacks he is having upon waking up while a silent tear runs down his cheek. Pau enters and holds his hand. They are so 'nsync that they had the same flashbacks. Isn't that adorable?
She holds him and he cries knowing his end is near. He asks for a special favor:
-If its a boy name him Alfonso and if its a girl, Paulina.

El Color de la Pasión --Wednesday 11/23/16 #53 - The Queen takes a Knight and Pawn.

Quick Refresh:

Brigi and Rod argue about her meddling in his life
Al reads sNora for using her job as an excuse to get near Rod
Mili goes to Marcelo's apartment and encounters Rebecca

Mili barely notices as she is to fixated on the cracked frame and the most idiotic woman who just broke it.   On the other side of the door, in the hallway, Rebecca remembers the young man from the cracked photo, the young man she  had an affair with.  Federico who only wanted a normal relationship with her and wanted to introduce her to his family, at the very least his brother.  That brother is to Rebecca's horrific realization, Marcelo Escalante.  The handsome stranger who it seemed appeared out of nowhere one day, the man who seduced her with a sizzling kiss and then ended things abruptly.  The same man who accused her of having a death on her conscience.  Rebecca's realizes that she is no longer the hunter, but the hunted.

Vino el Amor 11/23/16: # 19 “Deceits, Disappointments, and Acknowledgements”

Tonight's episode is brought to you by Cynthia. Enjoy!

Well there’s a party going on, everyone is slow dancing and swaying to the music, including Luciana and Miguel. Mig keeps telling her how much he loves and enjoys being with her. We also see Sonia dancing by herself in the background, really looking goofy because she is somewhat buzzed. All of a sudden David walks up and in a gruff sounding voice calls for Luciana! Well that killed the party mood and Leon walks over to the CD player and turns it off. Then Sonia comes stumbling forward in her obviously drunken mode to say: “Senor, I SWEAR to you that I didn’t want to! But they convinced me to dance. Please forgive me.” (She hangs her head in shame. What a silly girl.)  They all explain that this was just to relax after finding out that the vineyard was not going to be sold. David tells them it is okay and to go on with their party. But tomorrow he wants everyone available to give their 100%. Miguel assures them that the crew will be there all giving 100%. Then he says to Luciana that he wants to speak with her. She says no, she will talk to him during working hours tomorrow. David finally leaves and excuses himself. Susan and Miguel come running up wanting to know what he said to Luciana. She just tells them that she didn’t know and that she told him to talk to her tomorrow during regular working hours. Luciana tells Miguel she is not going to let anything ruin this night. Miguel and Luciana go back to dancing.

El Color de la Pasión (ECDLP) #52. Tuesday November 22, 2016. A Post-Nookie Truth Bomb

It’s bow-chicka-wow-wow time for our lovebirds. Marcelo is about to explore planet Lucía and go where no man has ever gone before. The terrain is not as hostile as it previously appeared. He asks permission to activate the launch sequence and the host planet grants it. Houston, we have a landing!

At the fábrica/factory, Alonso is working late again. And who can blame the guy? It’s estrogen bedlam where he lives. Amador walks in to enquire about the status of his dodgy scheme, i.e. the order he signed with Provedora del Centro, which he himself owns. Alonso reproaches him for lending his support to such an unfavorable deal. The agreed prices put Talavera Gaxiola at a serious disadvantage. Amador explains that what the fábrica loses in unit price will be compensated by the large volume of the order. The discounted rates are a way to hook the customer (amarrar al cliente). Alonso instructs Amador to renegotiate the terms of the deal. Amador objects: Talavera Gaxiola has already received a down payment (anticipo) from the client. Alonso insists: Either you renegotiate or I do it myself! He reads out loud the client information from the signed contract: Provedora del Centro, represented by a certain Aliberto Gaytán. How did this company hear about Talavera Gaxiola?

El Color de la Pasión #51 (Hulu/Uni #50), 11/21/16: Repercussions of Ricardo’s Return, and Sexy Sax in the Sheets

The Old:
-Lucia threatens to let her inner b*tch out if Nora doesn’t keep her grubby little paws off her man.
-Nazario gets Alonso to promise to take a 2nd look at the contract Amador hoodwinked him into signing. The low price and high volume don’t make any sense to Naz, and it will affect the quality of the product. Naz also tells Al that Ricardo Marquez is back in town, which has totally discombobulated Magdalena.
-Ricardo confronts Rebeca in front of Casa Gaxiola and asks her straight up how she managed to shut Adriana up about the two of them, and then managed to marry her widower.

The New:
Rebeca reacts to Ricardo’s insinuations with righteous indignation and calls him crazy. “Perhaps. Let’s see what your husband thinks when I speak to him. Or to your daughter. Because you have a daughter, right?” Rebeca threatens that if he dares, she’s capable of…Ric doesn’t let her finish. “What are you capable of? Of getting rid of me, the way you got rid of Adriana?! I always knew that I had to be careful around you, but, killing your own sister…” SLAP! (Drink!) Lucia comes home to this very strange and dramatic scene. She doesn’t take her eyes off her aunt and the stranger, and asks if everything is ok. Ric slips a card with his hotel and contact info into Rebeca’s hand and whispers in her ear to contact him so that they can continue their conversation. Rebeca hurries into the house. Ric asks Lucia if she’s Adriana’s daughter. She warily affirms this and asks who he is. Ric mysteriously tells her to ask her aunt, and leaves with a cunning grin.

Vino el Amor 11/18/16 Chapter 16: They kissed and then it was Gone With the Wind

(Some scenes have been combined.)

David and Luciana have begun their mating dance. They have been talking about their shared love of the land and their mutual admiration for Marcos. He always talked about David and that made Luci really want to see him again. In fact, she kept the receipt for the gift they gave him on his birthday, the day they were deported, but obviously it didn’t mean much to him. She saw him put aside inside a box. David replies that the gesture did not mean it didn’t mean anything to him.

He places his hands on her arms and gets close saying that she changed him, changed his whole way of being, of thinking, of feeling. Being so young, Luci says, is he serious, all while keeping her eyes on him. He replies that he doesn’t understand what exactly is happening, but yes, it’s true. She asks for two hours of his time, so she can show him something. They plan to meet by the pergola later on.

A que no me dejas Episode 50 (11.18.16) Looks like lying is not as important as credibility. wink!

After all, everybody lies one way or another, what matters is credibility

We start this episode with another death. In this novela we don't discriminate, so one day a newborn dies and the next an old timer.

We are in LACUSA (Los Angeles California USA) and the gringo friend of Mónica had to learn to speak spanish because there, he is part of the minority.

Hellow amigowz... Mónica, Zee you tomorrow, ok?
Ok (THUD!) Wait, what's this?

Is granny that fell as a ripe apple from I don't know how many stories, but even then, making a very clean fall with no blood, brains, or anything disgusting. Remember, there are kids watching! So, no gore!

Mónica looks up to see why is raining old people and to her surprise, the first face she sees is Gonzalo's. She is speechless, her friend doesn't know if he had to call 911 or wait for instructions since Mónica started to yell Gonzalo even before knowing that he had something to do with that fall. We know that he didn't mean it, that it was womanslaughter, but the kids yelling that they were about to be kidnapped by their own father ignited even more Mónica's anger.

-You're such a bastard!
-Oops! It was an accident -claim Gonzalo- my only mistake was not being able to grab her!

Gaston who is Gas-On the peddle right now prompts, needing to know if he should cash in his chips or not on this gamble.  Ines lets him down gently saying all the right things at first , you're attractive, intelligent and warm but I'm not ready for a relationship right now and if I were, I'm much older than you.  You're at a point in your life where you'll be wanting a family and children and I'm a grandmother.  Gaston assures her that none of it matters,  if he had wanted to be married with kids, he would have it by now. What's important to him right now is how he feels about Ines.  Ines spanx start tightening and reminding her to stay strong!  Umm Gaston, you say that now, but in five or ten years it will matter.   Gaston thinks that they shouldn't worry about something that may not happen, but Ines says she's become a realist as a result of what she's been through and five or ten years her age will start to weigh upon him and he'll want a younger woman and she doesn't want to go through that again.  Gaston doesn't understand why she would think that and she explains that If Gonzo who is the same age as her traded her for a younger woman,  Gaston will most likely too and rightfully so.  Ines is not prepared to go through that again.

The gig is up: A que no me dejas #47 11/15/2016

All the many ways it sucks to be Gonzalo:

Let's talk about how much it blows to be Gonzalo right now, First, the meeting with the hotel investors, Gonzalo and Leonel were sure that the guy they took to the whore house would vote in their favor- but they were wrong! The man voted against them and this means that Alfredo and Camilo now own the majority of the shares in the new hotel.

While Gonzalo is getting smacked down in the boardroom Ines, and her super best friend Raquel pay a visit to Monica. Ines gets right to the point and asks Monica to pressure Gonzalo into giving her a divorce and Monica is all like "dude, you are already divorced! Gonzalo and I just got married". Raquel and Ines tell Monica that that's not the case, Gonzalo has refused to grant Ines the divorce, and then the three women realize that only one of two things could have happened, (1) Gonzalo either committed bigamy or (2) the wedding was a fake. Monica faints. Once she comes back to the land of the living Ines tells her that she will do whatever it takes to get a divorce from Gonzalo and Raquel uses this time to "borrow" a picture of Monica and Gonzalo taken at their fake wedding. Monica apologizes to Ines, and says that her actions have led everyone to suffer including her children.

El Color de La Pasion #47: Dangerous Liaisons, Among Other Things

Well, Daniela only let us down a bit this time with the vile and viperous tale of woe-is-me-cuz-I’m-having-his-baby given to play havoc with Lucia’s high moral principles.  Luckily (for somebody) with Marcelo returning to drop off the car keys, her story took the twist of an aborted baby since it was painfully obvious he didn’t want it.  “—And why didn’t you tell me before now???????”  She shamelessly decided to get rid of it while on the trip she took with Papa right after he dumped her and moved to Pueblo.  Of course, this is all Lucia needs to coldly leave him and his ex to talk things out and then see if there’s anything left for the two of them to discuss together.  AND, that’s exactly what they do, while Lucia bemoans her oh-so-complicated love life. Boo-hoo.

A que no me dejas Episode 45 (11.11.16) When you have "liar" in your résumé, it's hard for people to believe you.

We start this episode with a double childbirth. Such a coincidence! And both women are sisters! Double coincidence! And both will claim is premature! Triple coincidence!

Paulina has given birth to a beautiful girl that looks "just like Camilo", with the help of Adrián. While the baby is still in the incubator, Inés, Alfonso and Raquel exchange congrats because they are now grandpas and say goodbye (and thank) Adrián, who was helping Paulina in Camilo's absence.
BTW, where is Camilo? Alfonso is going to drive looking for him even this late.

Adrián tells Jaime and Gisela that when he saw Paulina's newborn he felt something he had never felt before. Like if that girl was his own daughter. "When we were alone", and I quote, "Paulina, Valentina (like the picante sauce) and me, it was like that baby was mine! I asked her but she said it was Camilos"
-What if Paulina was lying, after all, she always do- replies Jaime concerned-
Gisela seconds that idea, adding, maybe she lied, and they got married just because of the girl. Don't you think?
-Or maybe she didn't and Valentina is actually his, she got his eyes! No, you know that I can't hold on to something that is not mine, this time I mean it. This is the nail that sealed the coffin. I am forgetting Paulina once and for all! Definitely! I swear on my unibrow!
-We are witnesses of how much you have suffered Adrián -says Jaime- better set it and forgetter.
-Paulina told me it was not mine, so I will forget her definitely. Thanks for the advise.

A Que No Me Dejas - Thursday 11/10/16 #44 --Sweet Child O' Mine... Valentina!

As Julieta cries in her room for Adrian to come let her out, her Corazon is at dinner with Jaime and Gisela.  He says he's so tired he can't even eat and bids the two of them goodnight.  Alone Gisela asks Jaime what he's thinking about. He tells her he's thinking about the situation with Julieta and how far he let things go.  He should have separated from her a long time ago and he said he would many times but he never did.  He lacked the dignity.  Gisela says he shouldn't be so hard on himself,  he loved Julieta.  Jaime says yes, but she never loved him back. He's known it for a long time, he just let it go. He never asked her to have children with him, because he knew there was no place in her life.  Jaime always knew the only thing that mattered in her life, was Adrian.  Gisela says well he did it now and it was a huge step for him to take in his life, moving forward.  Gisela thinks that once Jaime has a new relationship he won't make the same mistakes again or permit that sort of relationship.  Jaime doesn't think he'll have a new relationship, at least not anytime soon, but when he does of that he'll be certain. He'll never be with a woman who doesn't love him back or give him the slightest bit of consideration.  Gisela thinks that's exactly how it will be.  Jaime deserves to be with a woman who loves him and will value him.  She thinks what he had with Julieta wasn't a marriage, Julieta never saw Jaime as a man but rather asshe saw him as just a father to Adrian.

El Color De la Pasion --Wednesday 11/9/16 #44 One love is buried, while another is awakened.

So are you saying that Trini was  murdered?  An obviously astonished Alonso asks.  Yes.  Replies Sara.  But who would want to do such a thing? Al asks now, obviously still not believing what Sara is saying, but Naz believes it and he has the suspect alright "Amador Zuniga"  Naz is certain that Amador murdered his wife and Magda cautions him against such a serious accusation.  Naz doesn't have a doubt that he has the right man in his cross hairs.   Al tells his buddy to calm down, why would Amador want to do such a thing to Trini?  Because he has always hated me says Naz and there's nothing he (Amador) wouldn't do to destroy my life.  Al says despite the differences Amador and Naz have had that's not a motive to murder Trini, furthermore does Naz have proof to make that accusation?  No but I'm positive he had something to do with it.  Magda suggests that with all the pain that Naz is feeling he wants to blame someone., but as Al says there's no proof to blame Amador.  Al promise Naz that they'll get to the bottom of Trini's death and when they find the person they will be punished.  Naz goes to be with his wife and Lucia offers to go with him, Magda is nervous about him being alone, but Naz assures her he will stay alive…he needs to see the person who did this, rot in jail. The stress of it all affects Al who appears to possibly be having a setback.

Adrian is in the police station, when Julieta’s psychologist comes and explains that Julieta is denying everything, she’s making herself forget, just like their father’s suicide as a defense mechanism. She tells him she needs to know why she stabbed Odette, as she needs the evaluation for the trial as part of her defense.

In the hospital, the doctor explains to Jaime, Dario and Gisela that the stab wound perforated the liver but they were able to stabilize her even though she’s in intensive care. When he leaves, Dario makes it clear that Julieta will have to pay for what she did. Jaime is in agreement but he also explains that Odette came to Puerto Esperanza for revenge. Dario doesn’t care; Julieta will pay.

Adrian visits Julieta in the cellblock. He calls out to her but she doesn’t answer because she’s catatonic. He leaves with tears in his eyes.

El Color de la Pasión #43 (Hulu #42), 11/7/16: Sleepless in Puebla

The Old:
-Lucia waits for Marcelo in the restaurant.
-Marcelo gets waylaid by Nazario, who wants advice on how to handle Normita’s crush on him. Marcelo, who has no less than FOUR women chasing him, tells Naz it’s no biggie, and Trini will understand.
-Trini catches Vinizio in her bedroom, attempting to install an explosive lightbulb. He gives chase and smothers her to death when he catches her. Seemingly shocked at what he’s done, he then tries to pass off the whole thing as a robbery gone wrong—taking Naz and Trini’s good silver and the talavera cross Naz recently bought for Trini.

The New:
As Trini breathes her last breath, Lucia feels the disturbance in the Force. Her hands tremble as she brings a glass of water to her lips, she drops the glass, and her heart starts racing. Between this strange unsettled feeling, and Marcelo’s continued absence, Lucia finally decides to leave the restaurant. Marcelo, stuck in traffic, tries to call the restaurant, but the line is busy. When he finally gets there, he learns Lucia left 10 minutes ago. He calls Casa Gaxiola and leaves a message with Tere to have Lucia wait there for him. Nora slithers up to Tere and intercepts the message, claiming she’ll deliver it to Lucia. Instead, she makes fun of Lucia for being stood up when she arrives, and twists the knife by telling her she isn’t as important to Marcelo as she thought. Lucia, still feeling mysteriously anxious, and hurt by being stood up, turns in early and has a good cry in the dark.

She gets in her car and leaves. Marcelo and Rebeca both realize they are totally screwed, and deservedly so.

Weekend Discussion: Your Favorite Novela Wedding

For a long time most novelas ended with a beautiful wedding right out of a bridal magazine.  All the bridal designers in Mexico must compete to get their latest gowns on the screen for those finale episodes with all the fancy frills of a royal wedding, but wedding episodes in the middle of a series are often more interesting because the wedding itself becomes an issue rather than a reward.

I don't have a single favorite but there are different reasons for the ones I do love.  What are your favorite novela weddings?  And yes, you can include the Bodas Interrumpi as well.

A que no me dejas Episode 40 (11.4.16) The Tarot cards never lie. Funny. Everybody else does.

Happy day of the dead! (belated)

We start this episode with Nuria's wedding. She finally chose a dress with a slit in the back to get more room and expand since her belly was getting bigger and bigger every day. So much it grew, that by the time they signed the marriage contract her whole back was exposed.

Raquel, very loud so Gonzalo can hear, tells Alfonso that she has never seen Inés this happy now that she is getting divorced. Gonzalo's blood is probably boiling and as soon as Gastón leaves Inés alone to use the bathroom, he follows him to threat him, telling him that as long as he keeps close to his wife, he will never sign the divorce papers.
-I know your intentions, get away from Inés or else!
-She is not your wife anymore- replies MacDreamy.
-I am your worst enemy. I can end your career.
-I am not afraid of you.
-I am not repeating myself, sí me entiendes, verdad? Get away from my wife!
-She is no longer yours, face it!

Outside in the ballroom, Little Mau gets all the attention and Nuria gets jealous. Why am I not surprised? She takes Leonel's hand and goes to dance, while Paulina takes the little boy and start another dance group with Camilo somewhere else.

Alan asks Gonzalo if there are all going to live in the same house and Gonzalo tells them that that’s the idea but things are going to change. Firstly, they have to leave Puerto Esperanza. Gonzalo wants to construct a new hotel in Chetumal so he wants them there every step of the way.

Gisela and Dario give Jaime the news that they’re moving in together but he has to fake his smile and happiness. He tells Gisela that he didn’t know this side of her but he’s been surprised. Gisela tells him that she doesn’t believe in marriage but things could change; she’s happy just to be with Dario for now.

Gonzalo explains that in Puerto Esperanza they will always be judged for being his second family and Alan tells him he’s more than happy to move. He would love to see a hotel from the ground up. Rene is sad though because he won’t see his friends anymore, including Paulina and Mauricio. Gonzalo offers a deal: they can visit when he comes over to Puerto Esperanza and the kids agree.
