A que no me dejas Episode 79 (12.30.16) Welcome to the lying club! Where the only requirement is having a mouth.

Happy new year!

This is the episode of the meetings.

Jaime came to Spain to meet Atriana
We start this episode across the pond, with Jaime telling Atriana that her mother designated him as her "tutor"*. She rejects the idea but there are no other options. Is either going to México or going to the gypsy tribe, where she will probably end up reading palms and tarot and dancing with a tambourine.
Jaime tells her that he knows this is difficult and complicated, but it is her mother's last will. To smooth things up a little, he also tells her that he has a son a little older than she is, and that besides all that, she will also have the opportunity to meet her half sister Valentina Murat. Her only relative. Besides the gypsies, of course...

*In México, a tutor is not someone who teaches, but whoever is in charge of the minor in the absence of the parents. Like a Godparent, but official.

Fernanda wants to meet her mother
Valentina doesn't want to meet with Gonzalo
In LA, Fernanda, who will go to CanCún to meet her mother, also wants Vale to come along to meet her sister from Spain.
Vale, who still hates the idea, asks why CanCún? Why not meet somewhere else like Puebla, Monterrey or Guadalajara?
-I am grateful because Mauricio helped me find my mom- said Fernanda-, if you don't come "over there you", allá tú. It's your loss.
Valentina finally makes up her mind, or does she? And accepts she will go to CC with Fernanda.
-Only for a few days-she adds-, remember that we have stuff to do here. You will meet your mother and my sister and that's it, ok?

Vino el Amor - Episode #42, Thursday Dec 29, 2016 - Did anything happen worth repeating?

Hola, Amiguis--
Note from Anita: Due to miscommunications, there is no formal recap for this episode. Here's what has been cobbled together with the help of our Caray posters.

David went and visited Marta and Luci, ostensibly to say goodbye. The sparks and yearning were palpable, and not lost on Marta.

Leon comes strolling through the vineyard with Miss Erika and they run smack into Luci and Miguel.

One minute you had yearning between David and Luciana and the next Luciana was her normal combative self towards Erika, and the first thing out of her mouth was, hey, girlie, Miguel's mine. Her jealousy showed. Erika, well, she was cool as a cucumber

Alexis says that's why he told Mau to tell Val what he was feeling a long time ago.   Well I never did and it's too late now.  Woah wait up dude, that doesn't mean you have to give up.  Val has a boy friend, not a husband and for all we know it may not work out.  Mau says yeah you got a point not all is lost.  Of course not, but now that she's coming you've got to get on it.  All of this friend stuff and you taking it slow isn't going to work. You have to rev it up!  Mau says he can't waste any time.  Alexis says yes you have to tell her what you feel.  Meanwhile, Carolina has overheard all of it.  He's in love with Valentina?  Murat?  Of course and she hates me.  Well I have to make him fall for me before she does.

Refresh:
Al tells Rebecca he'd love for sNora to go live with him
Sara goes to see the hospital archive clerk about Adriana's admittance dates.
Mili calls Marcelo about a supposedly missing Dani

Detective J puts the squeeze on SlicRic,  what did you do to this woman to make her so angry, why does she want us to lock you up?  Me? What did I do?   I'm the one who should want that woman locked up in jail until she rots.  Detective  J asks why and Ric proceeds to flex his wrecked pec.  This!  Mrs. Gaxiola came last night and tried to slice and dice me!   Why did she do that?  What can I tell you?  Because she's crazy!  Detective J tells Ric that's a comfortable answer, if she really did it then why not come down to the department and file a complaint against Rebecca.  Ric says yeah, yeah, I'll go take care of it.   Detective J, then turns to Daniela who is all sorts of W.T.F is going on here, and says some woman named Milagros Fuentes came to his office looking for her.  Really?  Uh-huh.. I guess she's mumsy-in-law or something.   Detective J is not to happy that Dani lied to Mili about where she supposedly was; and the lie that a person had been arrested in Ligia's murder.  He tells Whine-nelia not to use him or his department in her lies.  After they leave Whiney attackes Rick's hiney about lying to her.   You owe me an explanation!  What do you mean Rebecca Murillo attacked you with a knife?   Oh Ric..you might want to put all the cutlery away.

A Que No Me Dejas #77: What a Tangled Web (R)eugenio Weaves...

Nuria gives Tobias to get the answers for his test but wants something in return. She explains that the son she thought had died at childbirth is, in fact, alive. Tobias is surprised.

Leonel is parading himself around Hotel Mauva. He sees two employees talking and he chides them for being so relaxed. The employees stare at him and berates them for looking him in the eyes. Shame on them! They scurry off before they encounter any more abuse. Alexis then comes and Gonzalo comments that it was rude of Gonzalo not to introduce him as the new owner; he is going to speak to him about it. Alexis agrees that he should. Leonel then asks him if he’s thought about his proposition. Alexis tells him he has but what he is asking is difficult because it’s risky and he’s been Mauricio’s friend for so long. Leonel tells him to stop being a wimp, it’s not going to help his case, but being his right hand man will get him far and so will the money he’s offering. Alexis agrees to be his spy but on the condition that they be discreet. Leonel laughs at the fact that Alexis is asking HIM to do something but agrees and walks away.

Micaela confesses to her priest that she changed Nuria’s and Chelo’s children at birth. She knows she shouldn’t have but Chelo’s baby had died and Nuria didn’t want hers so she only thought of the child. The priest chides her for lying but Micaela tells him that he only wanted the child to be loved and be close to his grandparents. The priest then comments on the irony of the situation: Tobias has grown up to resent and belittle Chelo and Beto and has grown close to Nuria, who consents him in all his desires without knowing that he’s her son. Micaela is adamant about keeping Tobia’s true origins a secret because Nuria only wants to use him because she wants her ex-husband’s fortune. The priest comments that she is also keeping it a secret because she’s scared that Gonzalo, Chelo and Beto will reject her for her decisions. Micaela agrees. The priest tells her that she will only find peace when she confesses the truth but Micaela refuses, she just needed to get it off her chest, but she won’t confess a thing.

David is still in his office with Cesar discussing Luciana. Cesar tells him that he will always feel that way about Luciana, but he needs to get on with his life and his work.

Gracie, Lilian, and Joselo are out together in San Francisco having a glass of wine. Gracie downplays the “love” comment and explains that he’s done so much for her career. El Color de Pasion: A Few Loose Nooses Begin To Tighten

Lucia hasn’t got her keys.  She and Marcelo meet outside the apartment building. She asks to see a photo of dead brother Federico.

Daniela returns to Milagros’ apartment really late and comes up with another dumb, “I got lost” excuse.

Lucia walks into Marc’s room and smells Nora’s perfume on all the pillows and sheets.  She goes nuts, but Marc and she realize it’s her sick sister’s way of threatening to/ or pretending to be two-timing Lucia with her fiancé again.  This time Lucia doesn’t fall for it and will make sure Nora hears about it!

Rafaela mentions to Marc that Dani is beginning to pull away from Millie’s clutches and becoming more independent.

Nora notices as Rebecca returns home late with blood on one of her hands and questions her mother about that.  Becca growls that she cut herself.

While Alonso is napping in Sarah’s bedroom, Sarah gets a desperate call from Ricardo Marquez asking for her to come over and tend to his huge knife wound.  Sarah knows better than to risk her career for this shyster and tells him it’s after hours and to go to the emergency room instead.  Click.  He calls up the only dumb broad he can take advantage of, namely Daniela, and persuades her to come over and help him instead.

Vino el Amor #40, December 27, 2016: Vino el New and Improved Competition

Repeated scenes:
  • Joselo keeps calling Gracie while she's on her date with Cesar. Cesar offers to tell him to stop stalking her. Heh.
  • Bobby correctly senses that Luciana is more into older men like Miguel and is going to ditch him. Ha ha, actually he is just sad and missing his mom and afraid Luciana will leave, but he tells her to go and that he never wants to talk to her again.
  • The Sunday date for Marta and Gutierrez finally happened! It's sooo awkward with Leon there, but no Luciana as Bobby has detained her. Luckily Gutierrez is saved by the bell again, as Lilian threatens him if he doesn't get over to their date and now.
This episode (a few scenes combined):
  • No-game Cesar tries to flirt with Gracie and it's painful to be her and for the viewer to watch.
  • Gutierrez pretends that the police station called him and tells Marta and Leon that he must go. It's just the nature of his job. Leon understands but Marta protests, because Luciana hasn't gotten there yet. Gutierrez thought she was in San Francisco. Marta says she wanted to surprise him. Now Gutierrez really explains that when the police station calls, the policeman must go. (Yes, he's lying, but I can see why Leon bought it.)

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #75. Monday December 26, 2016. My Feelings Vacillate Between Having The Hots For My Half-Uncle And Ignoring My Adoptive Brother's Infatuation!

Feliz Chrismukkah, my dear Patio Pals! Hope you're having a joyous time with your loved ones this Christmas/Hanukkah/festive season.

Full disclosure: I haven’t had a chance to watch the post-time jump episodes, so I don’t know the new kids on the block. Well, hello, hottie in the boardroom! How do you say “wa wa wee wa” in sign language? Scrumptious César Évora and that velvet bass voice of his are also attending this meeting. The Gonz and Nuria are there too, looking rather raggedy. They seem to be waiting for something or someone. Mauricio has a bad feeling about this, whatever this is. Suddenly, the boardroom doors open, revealing that Leonel Brillitos” Madrigal is the person the board of directors has been waiting for. He’s their new majority shareholder (accionista mayoritario)! “Good morning, family!” he announces gleefully. Time has been kind to him because he looks as young and peanut-buttery as we remember him. Just add a goatee and a whole lotta bling-a-ling! Nuria welcomes him with a barrage of insults to which he responds with a smirk and a condescending: “¡Chiquis triquis! You’re as sweet as ever! I’m happy to see you too!” He remarks that she has no business being there since she isn’t a shareholder. When she and The Gonz accuse him of swindling (estafar) money from their company, he advises them to look up the definition of the word “slander” (difamación). He also gloats that he has more shares than The Gonz does, which means he no longer has to address his former boss with the formal usted. I’m not sure what’s happening here but I’m excited Leo is back! He’s fly as a mother and he makes Nuria squirm.  What’s not to love?

El Color de la Pasión #73 (Hulu #72), 12/26/16: Knife, Pistol, Scissors—Players, Choose Your Weapon!

The Old: Rodrigo refuses to help Nora on her quest to break up Lucia and Marcelo. Alonso confronts Ricardo in his apartment about blackmailing Rebeca, and gets an earful about how Ric revealed the truth to Adriana, and then mysteriously and conveniently (for Rebeca) she had her accident the same day. Alonso refuses to believe it (but he really does), and tries to strangle the real truth out of Ric.

The New:
Ricardo sticks to his story, and adds more details. He tells Al that on the day he told Adriana the truth, she had somehow found him in his no-tell-motel. After learning the truth about her trifling sister, she started having baby pains, and he took her to the hospital. They examined her, and then sent her home with Rebeca. And later that day, Adriana had her “accident”.  Al stays firm, and orders Ric to stay the hell away from and not approach ANY of his women—Rebeca, Magdalena, Nora, Lucia, Sara, and Leticia! “If you do, you’ll regret ever being born.” Ric rubs his aching neck. Al barely makes it outside Ric’s door, then collapses in the hallway and pops a heart pill. He tries to convince himself that Ric lied.

David thanked Luciana for coming back to help Bobby. They looked about to kiss when Gracie came in with fake cheer to greet her and thank her for coming to help Bobby. El Color Dela Pasion #72 (Hulu #71): Partial Truths Shall Set You Free!

Daniela tries to say goodbye to Ricardo but he isn’t having it and plants one right on her mouth. She’s initially surprised but he continues and so does she, for a few seconds. Daniela then receives a call from Milagros and runs off, but not before Ricardo makes her promise that they will see each other again.

Leti lets Alonso inside to see Sara, with the biggest sourpuss face one. Once she’s left them alone, Alonso asks if something is wrong with Leti and Sara explains that she isn’t happy her mom is with a married man. Alonso tells her that he’s already asked Rebeca for a divorce but Sara tells him it doesn’t matter, Rebeca will never give up. Alonso reiterates that he and Rebeca have slept in separate bedrooms for months and as soon as Lucia’s wedding happens, he will focus all his energy on the divorce. Sara is still not happy, she’s well aware Rebeca will never give up, and neither will Nora, and they won’t have a minute of peace. Alonso asks if she is willing to make a life with him and Sara responds that she does. Alonso tells her that she has nothing to worry about then.

Rodrigo gets home and explains to Sergio that he went to go visit Lucia because he had to see her one last time. Sergio asks if he still loves her and Rodrigo confesses that he does and probably always will but is mad at himself for letting her go and falling in Nora’s trap. Sergio doesn’t chide him for it as Nora is very attractive but then confesses another girl has his thoughts now. He then tells Rodrigo how he’s going to try things out with Gloria and he should move on and try to rebuild his life.

He says it's because with this Luciana is confirming that she would do whatever to be with Miguel. Why does David like to complicate his life? His relationship with her is changing ever since she started seeing Miguel. “Isn’t it a good thing that she found someone as good as Miguel though?”, Susan reasons. Juan comes into the lab with the excuse that there is a problem with the bank. As we saw in the last episode, Juan is getting rid of David to help Grace with her little Joselo problem.

A que no me dejas Episode 74 (12.23.16) Lying is always easier than telling the truth.

Merry Christmas to all!

We start this episode with Raquel asking Mauricio to go with her to LA to see Valentina but Mauricio is not sure. What if this plan backfires? Asks him back.

Meanwhile in the Yunaired, Alan talks to Fernanda, Valentina's cisterna, and after hanging, he doubts whether to tell her the truth or not, because he is afraid he could be rejected. He decides to hide it, after all, how bad could it be right?

Nuria, tired of texting Axel Urióstegui night and day, finally goes to the restaurant where she met him, because he never called her back and she needs an answer. The waiter recognizes her but Axel, who usually eats here, has not arrived yet. She will wait.

In the Hotel, Osvaldo Ortega tells Gonzalo that the shares of the company Monroy had, has just sold them to a third party, without asking the Murats first. And he knew Mauricio and Gonzalo wanted to buy them. Osvaldo says that whoever bought them, paid 10 % more than the Murats offered, so there you have it. Monroy wanted more money and he got it.
Yes, but he knew we could have outbid offering more than that 10% he got. That is if we had known. Valentina has the 25%, Mauricio also 25%. Gonzalo only 20%, and now this mystery (cough* Leonel *cough) partner the other 30%. And I am not spoiling anything. Don't tell me that you didn't see that coming from a mile!
Osvaldo, who sees the room full of horse manure and thinks of a little pretty pony, assures his friend that since they have 70% all together, they are still overpowering whoever is in charge now of the rest.

A Que No Me Dejas #72: How Quickly Time Flies...

Micaela buries Chloe’s baby behind the palm trees in the Murat’s backyard. She covers the grave well and cries over what has happened.

Nuria is in her room, thinking about her future plans: she will have surgery on her knee so she could walk normally then have cosmetic surgery to fix any aesthetic issues and then find a new husband her will value her for what she is. She vows to forget about her baby.

Micaela is talking to baby Tobias about his feeding when Chelo wakes up and asks about what has happened. Micaela explains that she quickly fell asleep after giving birth then gives her Tobias to feed him for the first time. Chelo welcomes him with open arms but comments how blond he looks and laughs, saying that it doesn’t even look like her son. Micaela nervously tells her that her own father was blond and he probably inherited from him, he even has his name. Chelo tells her that he couldn’t have a better name and Micaela excuses herself to see Nuria. Before she goes, Chelo asks about Nuria’s baby and Micaela tells her that it was stillborn. Chelo laments the baby’s passing.

Micaela walks into Nuria’s room and Nuria asks her what she did with her baby. Micaela tells her that she dropped him off at the orphanage like she asked but brought home another baby that had passed, possibly from the cold, and buried him in the garden should anyone have questions. Nuria tells her that she’s crazy to have buried him in the garden but Micaela tells her that her father will probably ask about her child and then would need a body to show him. Nuria tells her that no one can ever know what happened and Micaela agrees. She tells Nuria that Gonzalo might kill her should he know the truth (“that she left the baby at an orphanage”). Nuria asks her to clean everything up.

El Color de la Pasión (ECDLP) #70. Tuesday December 20, 2016. And That’s Why Your Mama Is A Hoe!

Nora picks up her mother’s cellphone, only to hear Ricardo coo on the other end of the line: “Hello, my love! Haven’t you missed me?” The Gaxiola girls need to stop answering teléfonos ajenos/other people’s phones. Nothing good can come out of that. “Who’s speaking?” “Isn’t this the cellphone of Mrs. Rebeca Murillo?” “Yes, I’m her daughter. Who the devil are you?” I’m the devil person who’s calling your mother’s private phone. Why the devil are YOU answering? Ricardo hangs up without saying anything. Rebeca barges in, panicked, and tries to snatch her phone from Nora’s hands. Whora Minor demands to know who the heck is the guy who called Whora Major, her progenitor and mentor in all things hoe-related. “Why is he calling you ‘my love’ and why is it that you’re supposed to be missing him? Answer me! Don’t just stand there silent!” Rebeca reckons it’s a wrong number. Nora isn’t falling for this. The dude asked for her mother by name! Besides, why did Rebeca try to snatch the phone away? Surely this isn’t the first time that this guy calls. Rebeca is indignant at being the subject of her daughter’s suspicions. She affirms that she is not cheating on Nora’s father. The cheater in this house is him not her! Someone is doing this to harm and slander her (perjudicar), on the off chance that her daughter or her husband answer her cellphone. This is the handy work of either Sara Ezquerra or her spawn. They must have hired this mystery caller. Nora isn’t convinced: “Eso suena muy forzado. This sounds very contrived.” Rebeca tries another avenue: “Don’t you think that if I had someone who loved me, I wouldn’t be here putting up with the humiliations of your father?” Mmm. Yeah. I guess you have a point, Mommy Hoerest. You have as much dignity as I do.

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #70. Monday December 19, 2016. What A Difference A Week Makes

Hello Patio Pals! Sorry for the delay but I've been experiencing technical difficulties since this morning and I can't get this episode to load. Here is what I gleaned from the summaries posted on Televisa's and Univision's websites. If any of you could volunteer further details, I'd be much obliged. I shall add them to the main post later. Many thanks, and my apologies.

Well, things escalated quickly in Dejaslandia! How did we get from slobbery smoocheroos on the beach to this?

Valentina returns to school after the tragedy she experienced. Her schoolmates bully and deride her for being the niece of a crazy murderess.

Taking advantage of this incident, Nuria devises a plan to get rid of Valentina and send her as far away as possible from Puerto Esperanza. This is how she intends to take revenge and regain control of Casa Murat.

El Color de la Pasión #69 (Hulu #68), 12/19/16: Hunches, Theories, and Plain Old Common Sense

Alonso and Lucia look on in horror as Rebeca cradles a seemingly lifeless Nora in her arms. Rebeca screams at Alonso that this is all HIS fault. Al rushes to the bed and also cradles his baby girl, gently slapping her face to wake her, and begging her to speak to him. He takes her in his arms and rushes out. Lucia, only in her robe and slippers, runs ahead of him to open doors and help him get Nora in the car. Left alone in the bedroom, Rebeca makes sure to collect the carefully scattered pills from the floor. However, she misses one…

Once down the stairs, Rebeca insists they take her car. As Alonso gets Nora in the car, and he and Lucia open the gates, Rebeca gets in the driver’s seat…and keeps on driving, leaving a panicked arm-clutching Alonso in the dust yelling after her. Lucia insists he get back into the house to take his pills, before they can leave together to go to the hospital.

El Color de la Pasion #68 (Hulu #67), 12/16/16: Over My Dead Body

Hola, Patio Peeps! This recap is by Cathyx, who is having some posting problems.

Wow, we get right to it, no rehashing of what we already saw. Let’s jump right in!

Rebeca storms into Sara’s office after she eavesdropped at Lucia’s door to find out that Alonso and Sara had dinner together last night. She barges in just as Sara and Alonso finish a long passionate kiss. Reb wants to know what Alonso is doing there, and he decides that proposing marriage to Sara in front of an unhinged crazed wife is the best time to do that. Well, over Rebeca’s dead body will she ever consent to a divorce, she says. Oh dear, Alonso just signed his death sentence by replying that if it’s the last thing he does, he’s divorcing the bitch. Said bitch gets the stink eye going and looks right at poor Sara and says that Sara doesn’t know who she’s messing with. As she leaves, she mutters under her breath that she will kill him first before he ever leaves her.

Alonso tries to calm Sara down, she has nothing to do with his problems with her and Rebeca won’t actually do anything to her, (oh my Alonso, you really don’t know your wife), but Sara replies that that may have been true, but not now. Now she’s front and center is his mess with Rebeca. She wisely tells him to fix his problems with Rebeca, then give her a call when it’s done.

Vino El Amor #34 - Friday 12/16/16 Lucia & Miguel heat up and David gets heated!

David may have gotten to feast on Grace's girls,  but it would appear they have nothing on a fully clothed Luciana, who is simply beautiful and radiant in her dress.  Wowie..wow..wow! Is the look on David's face and he looks every bit as delicious as ever.

Miguel comes in to interrupt (This guy has the worst timing ugh!)  and tells David the van has arrived.  Marta comes down and says Fernanda will be down soon and she's going to go up and get ready herself.  Lucia says she'll go help her and they'll see the guys over there later.  Both men watch Lucia walk away and Miguel watches her like she's a steak dinner he's going to have later, complete with a little lip lick. All he needs is a bib and knife and fork.  Sorry, patio fans his leering creeps me out. He's waaay too in to her.   I prefer David's, more restrained I-want-to-touch-you-so-bad-it-hurts body language.

A que no me dejas Episode 69 (12.16.16) Gonzalo's anvils fell hard on him! All at once! And Nuria is next!

We start this episode in a river of tears.
Gonzalo cries before Paulina's dead body, and asks, too late as always, for forgiveness.
Next to her, like Tristán e Isolda, lies Adrián. He is dead too.
Gonzalo comes near him and whispers: Life was so unfair to you. Please forgive me. Please you both forgive me.

In another room, Gastón also cries because Inés is about to die. He asks her not to, but her heart is tired and doesn't want to keep going.
She knows her end is near and says good bye. She dies kissing Gastón. Then the doctor enters the room and despite the CPR and all the efforts they make to revive her, she is gone.
Seeing how devastated Gastón is, his friend and colleague tells him that there's nothing to do.
-My love, my love, don't leave me- cries Gaston.
-React please, its over- asks his friend.
Gonzalo, who was entering the room in that moment, can not help overhearing and can not believe what he sees. You can almost feel his pain when his eyes start watering. Maybe not his pain but the remorse of everything he did to this three people who will never be able to listen to his apologies and repentance.

Inés lies there immobile. Both doctors tell him that she died of a heart attack, nobody could have saved her.

El Color de la Pasión #67 (Hulu/Uni #66) , December 15, 2016: It Must Have Been Love, But It's Over Now

Repeated scenes: (Seems like we got off on the episode numbering again so hopefully I've got this right!)
  • Sergio asks Mario for help with Rodrigo's case.
  • Nora lies to the detective that she was with Rod and his rod on the night of Ligia's murder.
This episode: Shorter than normal recap, busy day, sorry! If I missed anything, please note in the comments.
  • Nora spins this tall tale to the detective about how she hated Rodrigo but wanted to clear her conscience.
  • Ricardo and Amadiva meet up for drinks. Amadiva wants to know if Rodrigo will keep to his word about giving Ama an alibi. He will, but it will cost Amadiva. For starters, Ricardo wants a bigger cut of whatever deal they have going with Alonso's factory. Amadiva asks about Ricardo's scratches on his face (from his attack on Rebeca); Ricardo simply says that Amadiva is not the only one who has adventures. So that is what we call murder and attempted rape, boys. Ugh.

Ricardo blames Rebecca for everything that he's lost, his future was all planned out until she came along.  Rebecca say ay pobrecito!  Too bad you can't go back.  Ric says there may not be a chance to go back that doesn't mean he's not going to get some of what was lost to him, one way or another.  He proceeds to force himself on her and pushes her back on to the blue chair as she begins fighting back like a wild cat kicking and clawing at him.  She manages to get herself upright again, only for him to slap her back on to the chair where he ramps up his assault even more.  The almost empty bottle of Montalvo tequila is within reach and she grabs it and clubs him over the back of the head with it.  He's not knocked out, but seeing stars for sure and she takes that opportunity to scramble out the door and out of the apartment building to her waiting SUV parked right out front.   It's a moment before she pulls herself together, as she's tearfully shaken up by what almost happened to her.  Shakily she gets the key in the ignition and drives away.  A few seconds behind her departure;  Al in his BMW pulls in to the same spot.   Meanwhile inside the apartment, Ric ices his bruised scalp as he examines his clawed up cheek.  Right then, he hears his doorbell and checks the peephole.  It's Al!  Ricardo thinks better to not answer.

She explains that since this is his business and vineyard, but if Gracie is going to be doing what she is doing, then Luciana wants no part of the project. David says, “Well this is very unprofessional on your part.” Luci says she just doesn’t like Gracie and from day one, Gracie has never treated her with respect. The second reason is that she is not in agreement with Gracie’s point of view regarding the creative aspects of this project. David says that they can integrate both points of view and he really needs her professional expertise. Then he pulls his trump card, the “Remember, your father Marcos was part of all this too. But it’s your decision, Luciana.”

El Color #64: A Jailed Bird, a Cooked Goose, and a Canary in the Clutches of a Carnivorous Cat

Short today but on the way........[edit.]

--Or Birds of A Feather Are Flocked Together…..

The Old Buzzard de Milagros demand Marcelo tell her the name of the slut who murdered her son.  Daniela throws the weight of her long-term relationship with Marc and Millie around and snidely advises Lucia to get used to her being around whether Lucia likes it or not.

Marc tries to explain to Millie that the woman never murdered his brother.  It was his weak-willed brother who went nuts over said woman and did the terrible deed.   He won’t tell her because she wants to get even with the woman—an eye for an eye retribution.  He lies that he still hasn’t found her out.  Millie doesn’t believe him and she’s not leaving town till he tells her the truth.  Marc just wants to zone out on pain meds at this point.  Lucia warns Rafaela that Millie is about to learn the truth.

Alonso and Rebeca grouse about Magdalena’s visit.  Becca couches it as a lie that Ricardo Marquez told Mags to divide the family and get his grins over it.  She is left to look like trash in her sister and the family’s eyes. (--And your point is?) Al says he must have had a reason and he’s heard so much shocking gossip about Becca he’s certain there’s some truth in it.

Mario calls a halt to the wedding with Mags.  He tells her she was pretty selfish just leaving him there to face a guffawing Ricardo earlier. (I’d say more like emotionally scarred.)   She apologizes but he isn’t ready to accept cuz it’s obvious that RM still looms larger than life in Mags’ heart and mind while Mario is only playing second fiddle.

This episode (some scenes combined):

Gracie lets Fer know she's not going to Spain, but will stay in Sonoma to be with the family. Fer is thrilled. David tells Fer to give them a moment. A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #65. Monday December 12, 2016. I Mourned My Failed Marriage For A Whole Day. Can I Jump Into Pau's Pants Now?

Triana sets Adrián free to go back to his “eternal love” and lose that constantly pained expression he’s been sporting ever since he met Paulina again. Triana is a blubbering mess but she is firm in her decision to break up, in spite of Adrián’s tepid attempts to dissuade her. She doesn’t want to fight for something she has already lost. “Yo lo quiero todo o nada, Adrián. No medias tintas. I want it all or nothing. Nothing half-hearted.” She reminds him that their agreement from the start of their relationship was honesty above all and this decision is what’s best for everyone involved. Whether Adrian opts to get back together with Pau or not is up to him. However, Triana is not sticking around to endure the humiliation of hanging on to a man who doesn’t love her. After a draining back-and- forth, Adrián reluctantly yields. Their marriage is over. He announces that he’s leaving her the apartment and a monthly stipend. She retorts that she can earn her own livelihood (sustento), gracias very much, but she’ll take the apartment all right. This girl knows where it’s at. In the immortal words of Pete Clemenza: “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.”

The Old:
-Nora freaks out when Rebeca threatens to take her with her on a long trip away from Puebla and Marcelo Escalante. She grabs a letter opener, starts wildly stabbing a chair and ends up cutting Rebeca in her crazed state. She takes her freakout to her room, as Alonso bangs on her door and begs her to open up, and Lucia tries to get him to calm down so that he doesn’t collapse from a heart attack. Just another night in Casa Gaxiola.
-The next morning, while breakfasting on coffee, fruit and bitterness, the Zúñiga family is interrupted by the cops, who’ve come to arrest one of the male members of the household for the murder of (their shared lover) Ligia Cervantes. Rod, not the deserving Amador, is cuffed and dragged away. Just another morning in Casa Zúñiga.

The New:
Brigida orders Amador to do something, but all he does is promise his scared son that he’ll get the best lawyer and get him out. He urges Rod not to say ANYTHING, then gets into a screaming and shoving match with the detectives. Brigida demands to know what’s going on and why they’ve accused Rod. Amador swears he knows nothing.  “Listen to me, Amador. If I find out that you could have done something to prevent them from taking my son away, I’ll KILL you!” Amador tries to calm her down with promises of getting the BEST lawyer, before running out the door to his car, at the same time trying to figure out just who he can call. He passes on calling Ricardo, saying to himself that he can’t (call the guy who will surely realize Amador is the killer and use it against him).

Vino el Amor-Episode #29 - Friday 12/9/2016: Confession is good for...nothing; neither is kissing a guy because you are trying to forget the other one

Luciana finishes confessing to Susan that David it too far out of reach of her heart. Susan brings up Miguel. Luci shuts her down, telling her they can talk later because she needs to get back to work.

Perla has been waiting for Juan in his former, now current again, office. Squeeee! She’s excited he got his job back. Juan is feeling smugly triumphant (he quickly forgot it was through Grace’s, not his, efforts, that got his job back). He’s still pissed at her for telling David she’s in love with him. It only complicates matters. From now on, he states, everything is to be done his way, especially since David has assigned Susan and that imbecile Miguel to supervise him. He adds, somewhat dreamily, that he has a much bigger objective now and they can’t make any mistakes. Perla seems a little less certain now that she’s willing to do anything for him.

David storms into the big house, Grace a half a step behind him. She can tell something is amiss. He claims it’s just been a complicated day. He does thank her for helping him do the right thing in giving Juan his job back. She says she’s only demonstrating that she’s there for him, in business, family matters, and—fluttering her eyes—the personal. David seizes the opportunity to ask a favor of Grace. Anything, she says, still fluttering her eyes. He tells her she’s never to embrace him like that again. He doesn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea. He leaves her standing there, eyes unfluttered.

El Color De La Pasion #63 (Hulu #62): Everyone's Got Some 'Splainin To Do...

Lucia tells Marcelo that she can’t be stupid about her feelings anymore. There is nothing she desires more in this world than to be his wife. They kiss and Marcelo asks if she’s only telling him this because he almost died and Lucia confesses that, in part, it is. She realized that she couldn’t bear to live without him. Marcelo wants to get married tomorrow but Lucia tells him he’s crazy because he has to get better first and he shouldn’t worry because she’s not going to go back on her word. She then tells him that as soon as he’s out of the hospital they will get married. They kiss a little more.

Outside Marcelo’s room, Milagros gets tired of waiting for the lovebirds and barges in on Lucia and Marcelo. She tells them that she doesn’t mean to be rude but Marcelo needs to rest. Lucia agrees and steps outside but not before saying goodbye to Rafaela while completely bypassing Milagros. Milagros asks Marcelo about his “private” conversation with Lucia and Marcelo answers that it was personal. Milagros asks if that means they are back together and Marcelo ask if that worries her. Milagros tells him that the only thing that worries her right is his health. Marcelo then asks Milagros to go find the doctor that operated on him so he can ask him what he did. Milagros obliges.

Once the coast is clear, Rafaela runs over to Marcelo’s side and asks if him and Lucia are indeed back together. Marcelo tells her that it’s more than that; they’re engaged! He then cautions to keep the news a secret and they agree to not mention anything. They hug.

A que no me dejas Episode 64 (12.09.16) Another truth another death: Gonzalo actually cares about his children. Too late.

Paradise lost
We start this episode with the expulsion from the Garden of Eden of both Leonel and Débora. He wearing only his zebra briefs and she wrapped in a sheet with one shoe.
Gonzalo put 2+2 together and discovered that his mistress and his son in law were heading to the same New York they both talked about. He called security and along with Nuria found them in bed. Nuria witchslapped the "fox" who stole her man and picked up her other shoe.
Gonzalo, happy to know the kind of people that surrounds him, praise the private eye's good work.

Meanwhile in LA, Bill, the private eye Gonzalo hired to look for René found him a little too late, after he was severely beaten by the friend who allowed him to sleep in his father workshop, from where René stole some money.

One of René's friends calls Mónica and by the time she gets to the railroad tracks, René is already unconscious badly injured. That same boy also gives Mónica the money that René had and a few steps from there, Bill, the detective, calls Gonzalo to tell him that René is in very bad shape and has been taken to the Hospital.

Back in Quintana Roo, roaming the streets we see Leonel and Débora, who are still in shock wondering how did Gonzalo find them. Leonel's bright mind thinks that maybe Nuria discovered him because one day she saw his wet hair. Juaréver reason, he also thinks he has her grabbed by the handle as long as they have kids together. What are kids for if is not to use them as currency, right?
Debbi-ho, on the other side, thinks that he shouldn't be too sure, even the best hunter sometimes loses the hare (al mejor cazador se le va la liebre).

Vino el Amor - Episode #28 - Thursday 12/8/2016: The Shirtless Dueling Dudes

Hello everyone! Happy [Belated] Thursday!  This fabulous recap is brought to you by Our Sonia and not Mi Senor's Sonia (thank goodness).

Miguel and Luciana are cute. Miguel is an upstanding guy as far as I’m concerned, a little whiny but an overall good guy. Luci and Mig are at the lab and Luciana is obviously jealous that David is with Grace. Despite the obviousness, Mig still feels the need to ask Luciana if she is jealous. David and Grace come into the lab. David wants Luciana to teach Grace the ropes of the vineyard. Luciana isn’t pleased. Grace is filled with annoying questions and the worst part is the Grace knows it. She wants to know if Luciana could do her job at another vineyard. Luciana makes it clear that she isn’t leaving because the land is important to her. And while Grace wants to “learn” about Luci’s life story, Luciana is more interested in why Graciela came back in the first place. “I came back to be with my family. To protect them.” Grace sneers at Luci. I got goose bumps. Graciela isn’t some I would want to cross. But Luciana holds her own. “Well me too.”

As Julieta seethes over her corazon's rejection in the courtyard of the loony house, at the Murat house Pau tells the kids that she is going to get their passports out and get their suitcases packed for their trip to Spain tomorrow!  They are excited as they scamper off to go see Chelo.   Mica says the children are so excited to go to Spain, but she senses that this is tough for Pau.  Pau says how well Mica knows her. She knows that the children are going to be safe with Adrian and he will treat Mau and Valentina the same, it's just that she's having a hard time sharing them.  Mica thinks how different it would have been if the four of them had been able to vacation together.  It's sad that a love as grand as the one that Pau had with Adrian is in the past.  What happened to them was so unfair.

Ricardo wisely asks who is going to ask him for Amadiva's alibi, but Amadiva plays it off as he had a little fling he doesn't want Brigida to know about. Ricardo is again amused, and wants the gossip on what went down, but Amadiva keeps the details out of it. Ricardo says he is happy to do this (provide an alibi) for his friend.

El Color Dela Pasion Wednesday 12/7/16 #61 The sins of the father are to be laid upon the children - William Shakespeare

As our galan lay bleeding on the pavement, having just been stabbed with an ice pick, our tender heroine feels a stab of foreboding to her chest.  She drops a trinket box to the floor and awakens her guest Leti.  Leti assumes Lucia's clumsiness is due to her staying over and dumping all of her problems on Lucia.  Lucia assures her friend that everything is ok.  Lucia also lets Leti know that she didn't call her mother as they had agreed, instead her father Alonso went over in person to let Sara know of Leti's plans to stay the night at the Gax house.  I guess that means your Dad knows?  Yes, does that bother you?  Leti says no because it was a secret that would have come out anyway and no doubt her mother would have confided in Alonso anyway since they are such good friends.   As Leti focuses on picking up the baubles on the floor, Lucia continues to sense that something, somewhere is wrong.

El Color de la Pasión (ECDLP) #60. Tuesday December 6, 2016. The Stabbing That Spells A Lovers' Reunion!

Outside Casa Zúñiga, there is a dramatic paternity announcement sans Maury Povich: Ricardo Márquez is the father of Lety TMZ! After the initial shock, it’s time for the airing of grievances: Why didn’t you tell me I had a daughter? You disappeared. Why didn’t you look for me? You wouldn’t have done the right thing. You wouldn’t have married me and taken care of our child. Sara warns Ricardo to stay away from her daughter and drives off.

Brígida missed quite a spectacle here. She goes downstairs to let Ricardo know that her husband is ready to receive him only to find out that the guest has disappeared. She goes back upstairs to let Amador know that his friend and Sara Ezquerra know each other. Yep, in the biblical sense too and they’ve created a younger version of you!

Vino el Amor #26, December 6, 2016: Vino el Pink Slip and a Lot of Hollering

First, thank you to Anita for filling in for me on last Tuesday's show! This one may be a bit shorter than normal; still catching up on life post-vacation.

Repeated scenes:
  • Luciana fills in Marta and wants to know what Marta and Liliana were fighting about before Marta's collapse. Marta says she will tell her.
  • Perla gets a call from Carito, who tells her Juan was fired and she could be next
This episode (some scenes combined):
  • Bobby is afraid Marta will die. Fer tries to reassure him. Sonia brings them food and tries to kiss up to them. Gracie comes in and tries to reassure the kids. Bobby doesn't understand why his grandmother hates Marta so much and says that each day he hates his grandmother more.
  • Luciana blows a gasket when Marta tells her a very watered-down version of the conversation with Liliana. (Basically, Marta tells her that Liliana thinks Marta was after her husband.) Luciana clearly doesn't believe that Marta could do such a thing and wants to go after Liliana. Marta is able to calm Luciana down by playing it all as something that happened years ago. Luciana says the most important thing is that Marta gets better. Marta says it's most important to her that Luciana will stay.

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #60. Monday December 5, 2016. Juanita's Juanderful Bean-Spilling Rampage Exposes Pau's Baby Daddy Secret!

It’s hay-hitting time at Casa Murat. As Paulina snuggles with her kids in bed, her daily bout of severe cognitive dissonance hits and she starts wondering: Why can’t she tell Adrián the truth? Fear of rejection or fear of attraction? She reckons that her “dilemma” is particularly acute now that Adrián seems to have forgotten her and moved on with his life. And she is so hurt by that, poor lamb! She has apparently inherited her father’s Gonzo-esque ego and can’t-let-go-itis!

The next morning at Casa Córdova, Gisela helps Juanita, the ex-Casa Murat housekeeper, set the table for breakfast. She receives a hearty serving of gossip: Valentina isn’t Camilo Fonseca’s daughter! The real baby daddy is a certain Adrián and all the clues point to Adrián Olmedo! Later on, Gisela confides this earth-shattering revelation to her husband. She offers to distract Triana with a trip to the shops so that Jaime can take Adrián to the marketing agency and announce to him the happy sudden paternity news. Don’t forget the smelling salts, darling!

Next, Rod tries Ligia’s house phone, rousing Amador from his stupor. He grabs Rod’s phone, slides by Ligia’s body, and dashes out the door.

A que no me dejas Episode 59 (12.02.16) The only truth that is good is the one that hurts somebody -Nuria

We start this episode with the same old Gonzo in the company of a new flame.

Cut to Mónica and her granny talking about how different are between them Alan and René. One is like water and the other one like oil. They didn't specify which witch is which. Alan just got a scholarship to study in Canada while René is out on the streets arguing and confronting other boys that actually look like thugs.

Back in México, Adrián and wife came to take Julieta to Spain with them, since she is getting out in 2 days.

Everybody have problems. Karen, for instance, is finding out that Flavio had kidnapped Ariel, her husband, along with little Mickey, her kid. Because she knows Flavio and just to see safe again the men in her life, she agrees to his petitions. He demands that she don't go calling the police or else. He is capable of killing them if she does.

Julieta gets even crazier when she sees Adrián. She doesn't even mind Tristana's presence.
She asks about Odette but Adrián says that has been a long time since he hears from her.

When Alfonso and Paulina learn about Karen's predicament, he tries to help with his policeman friend but Karen rejects the idea, afraid of what Flavio could do. But after she leaves crying and running like a headless chicken, Paulina decides to help her friend even if she doesn't want it, regardless of endangering her situation. This is careless.

Unbeknown to Alfonso, Raquel, who was craving mangoes, goes to the street with Cynthia, her maid. Both women went to see the vendor but by the time they were there, Raquel forgot what a mango was. It's a fruit, said the girl, yes, but what kind of mango is the one I like, asked Raquel. Let me see, here we have Ataulfo, Parrot's beak, ah! Petacón! This is the one you like... and just then, as if they were summoned there, a huge swarm of women from yoga class with their body painted spandex pants, crowded the mango man and Raquel was left behind, forgetting what she was doing there and starting wandering the streets...
