We have any blog / google experts here? A new problem has arisen with the site

Perhaps one of our bloggers did something odd a couple weeks ago that broke the blog - I just got a notification from google that we have a skyrocketing number of broken links. In the old days I would have asked Kat but I hope we have somebody else who understands this and what to do about it! Contact me at caray@mappamundi.com if you can help. Thanks!

Mujeres de Negro, Miercoles 3/22/17 Chapter 26: Escape Routes

My apologies for this bare bones approach; I'm having a crazy week.

A former girlfriend of Zacarías visited his mother. Tania was happy to see her. She had been trying to reach Julio but his cell didn't answer. She was eager to prove that her son was a good person.
They went to Vanessa's house and Isabella told them that they had received a farewell letter from Julio. Tania told them Julio had called her on the day of the fire about her son's reputation. She had tried to call him later but he didn't answer.
Vanessa apologised to Tania that they could not help her. The girlfriend said they should go to the police immediately.

La Piloto #12 3.22.17: In Which Yolanda Continues to Learn Harsh Life Lessons...

• The DEA helicopter lands in Mexico and the news spreads that the police have found 5 survivors of the plane crash after Zeki hijacked the plane. They hypothesize that he did this to escape the DEA because they found out that CAA was actually owned by John Lucio. In the helipad, Ortega helps Dave out of the helicopter as the paramedics come and ask if he’s okay. Ortega runs after Zulima and tells her that she’s not going anywhere because they know she also has ties to the Lucios. Zulima tells them that she’s hurt and wants to go home but hauls her off to jail.
• In the Lucio airstrip, Oscar finds out that that the survivors, including Zulima, have landed in Mexico. He warns her to not say anything or she’s dead and shoots the TV in anger.
• Amanda is handcuffed and taken to the jail cell where Lizbeth and Olivia are pacing. They wonder if Amanda talked when Amanda is brought in. They ask her who the man she was talking to was and she explains that it was a prosecutor and he tried to persuade her to say all she knew about the Lucios and Zeki in exchange for a lower sentence. They asks her if she took the deal but Amanda points out that she’s still in jail with them so obviously she didn’t. Just then, they bring in Zulima and all the girls go in for a hug. They ask her if she’s okay and Zulima confirms she is despite the fact that she almost died. They then ask about Yolanda and Zulima confirms that she heard she was okay and that John rescued her in the forest. A policeman comes in and tells the girls that Olivia has a visitor.

A Que No Me Dejas #135 3.22.17: The Calm After the Pukestorm

Gonzalo reminds Juan, the husband of Celeste who is in critical condition because of the ammonia poisoning, that Alan is also grave danger but Juan doesn’t care; he will demand the hotel for damages. Juan then asks the doctor to take him to his wife but the doctor explains that his wife will be out for the next few hours. Juan reiterates that he will destroy Gonzalo and leaves. Leonel takes the opportunity to pour salt in the wound by reminding them that they will lose everything with Juan’s lawsuit. Valentina tells him that it isn’t the best time to talk about this and Mauricio declares that what Juan does is their problem, not his. Ileana hadn’t thought of the consequences but Leonel is right. Gonzalo doesn’t want to talk about that now and Monica agrees. Leonel is not giving up though: he explains that everything will go to crap but Valentina proposes that they talk to Juan when he’s calmer and offer to pay everything. Leonel reminds her that they are not in LA and their decision will affect everyone involved. Gaston thinks Juan spoke out of anger but Leonel doesn’t think so. He declares that he has the best solution for the Murats.

In the pier, Rene contemplates his life decisions and how they have led him to where he is now. He declares that he doesn’t want Alan to die even though their lives have taken different turns. He cries and thinks about when he and Alan were younger and the best of friends. Rene knows Alan was always a better and more noble person than he was and is sad that this is the price he may have to pay.

Leonel explains that he can prevent Alan going to jail and the Mauva Hotel going to bankruptcy but the price will be all the shares of the hotel. Monica doesn’t think Alan will go to jail but Leonel reminds them that Almudena and Alan were responsible for the food that was contaminated; the first ones that will be demanded will be them. He then tells Gonzalo that he has the power and money to fix things but Gonzalo grabs him by the suit and Gaston and Mauricio try to separate them. Leonel tells them that he can fix everything but if they don’t want his help, oh well! He leaves and Gonzalo begs Mauricio and Gaston to let them punch Leonel, just once. All the women shake their heads at this obvious show of machismo.

• At the airstrip, John goes into his office and tries to radio into the plane Zeki has hijacked. Oscar tells him that they need to go because the DEA is coming but John wants to find out if Yolanda is safe first. Oscar tells him that they are in this mess because of her but John doesn’t believe she had anything to do with it. Oscar asks him if he’s sure but John is silent and Oscar remind him that he has doubts and that’s the problem. John confesses that he has one doubt: why did Zeki hijack the plane after leaving the warehouse if he was with the DEA?
• On the plane, Zeki tells the co-pilot that they need to reach Panama ASAP but the co-pilot warns him that they don’t have enough fuel and to fly lower so the radar does not detect them. John’s voice finally comes through and Zeki answers. John warns him that if anything happens to his plane or Yolanda, he will regret it but Zeki tells him to forget about both and hangs up.
• Yolanda asks Zulima if she knows what is going on with Zeki but she shakes her head. Yolanda wonders where they will go as they barely have enough fuel to even make it to Costa Rica. Zulima then asks what happened with Dalberto and Yolanda confesses that he’s a rat that works with the DEA and even lied about his name. Zulima is shocked to hear the news.
• Outside the airport, Olivia, Amanda and Lizbeth are arrested. The DEA find the bag with the cash in their possession.

Becker’s Amerian Counterpart at the airport or the mission com room tells Dave, El Duro, to pack it in.  The mission’s been a total failure.  The Lucio’s are going underground and Yolanda with them.  Duro says nope.  He’s certain JL will move heaven and earth to get Yolanda back there today.

Duro learns about the shootout at the Lucio’s Miami warehouse and that Monica’s there in the middle of it.  Oscar and Mena Arley escape on the back of a motor cycle.

Druggie gets back to the airport and meets up with Bald Dude – Pineros.  He hides her in a huge cinch bag.

On the Centroamerica plane, the stewardesses are muy impactado to see Alberto show a DEA badge and demand to speak to the pilot of the plane, which he plans to search.  Of course, the agents find nothing, not even in the baggage area.  The gals’ flight documents are in order.  Duro wants to know where Yoli is. He tells the other agents he’ll take it from there.  He sits down and looks out the window while the luggage for the flight back is being loaded.  He sees the huge cinch bag move and he orders to pilots to open up the baggage area.  CoPiloto bangs him over the head and lets him drop in.  JL will reward him handily for capturing the DEA agent.  They take off immediately and without permission to escape the Feds and get back to Mexico.

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #133. Monday March 20, 2017. The Calm Before The Pukestorm

Carolina puts her foot down as regards her accidental pregnancy: She will raise her baby as a single mother with dignity. She also threatens her mother that she would cut all ties with her if any blabbing about the baby to Gonzalo takes place. Carolina doesn't consider her baby a meal ticket to live off the Murats' wealth.

René loses a fortune (un dineral) at the illegal poker table. He retires to the bar to lick his wounds and freak out over his unwanted paternity.

PREMIOS TVyNOVELAS 2017: Stevey's Thoughts on the Upcoming March 26th Awards Show

PREMIOS TVyNOVELAS 2017- SUNDAY, MARCH 26th

YOUR GUIDE TO THE UPCOMING MEXICAN EMMY AWARDS…. FOR TELENOVELAS!!!

Hi everybody, Stevey here!!
Recently, while I was enjoying a martini over on the ECDLP patio, mention was made of the 'awards' that it had (or had not) won.  This led me to reflect that a lot of people up in the ‘Northern Parts’ might not have any idea what everybody was talking about.  Seeing as they are, sort of, a 'big thing' (like Mexico’s answer to the Emmy Awards), that this year’s awards ceremony is coming up on Sunday, March 26th, AND that you guys are just as much a part of this delightfully idiosyncratic Latin American television entertainment drama known as the telenovelas… I thought I'd do a little posting as to what’s going on, and about the nominees for this year’s big event.  I hope that you guys enjoy it, find it useful and/or interesting… and I really look forward to whatever discussion, conversation, supposition, or hypothesizing might result of it between everybody!!  Here goes...

Vino el Amor #96 – Friday 3/17/2017: Water, Water, Everywhere Else, But Not a Drop for Lil

Yesterday –  (See Julie’s rippin’ good tale at the end of yesterday’s recap)
The review starts with Dr. Evil Anderson trying to convince David he’s at fault for Fer’s suicide attempt. It includes Juan and Mark plotting in English; Luci and Leon discussing Mamá’s betrayal, and Marta and Lilian’s confrontation in the kitchen.

Today – (All you’ve got is me)
Dr. Evil and Fer – Fer is telling the doc that she feels worse now that she realized her affection for her nana was misplaced because of what she did with Fer’s own granddaddy. Dr. Evil jumps up, very concerned that she might try to off herself again. Fer insists that she’s almost positively sure she didn’t want to commit suicide, she only wanted to feel better. Dr. Evil (with $$$$ dancing in his head) assures her that her motives are hidden deep inside her and that’s what he’s there for. Fer says, juarever. She is going to concentrate on defending her feelings for her aunt, her grandmother and for, sigh, Tano, un tipazo.

Marta and Lil – The two continue their argument in the kitchen. Marta says she’s no longer afraid of Lil’s threats. Since she lost the love of Fer and her children, there’s nothing to hold her back, so beware, Lil. Marta sneers that the Patron still prefers her to Lil to care for the children. Lil answers back that she’ll figure out a way to get close to the grandchildren and if Marta had any dignity, she would leave. Lil gloats that she didn’t get Fernando nor Gut. Marta has had enough and hands Lil a drippy ladle and tells her here, if she wants to be a good grandmother, finish the meal. Marta stalks out. Yikes, Lil holds the ladle away from her as if it were a poisonous snake and yells for Sonia, who has the bad luck to be within earshot of the battlefield.

A que no me dejas Episode 132 (3.17.17) Angelique et Monique went to see Débora at the clinique

Didn't see that coming!
We start this episode with Leonel showing surprise before Gonzalo's fair way to see things. Leonel adds that it will be a pleasure not to see anybody from the Murat family again and Gonzalo says that he is actually happier because now that the 100% of the shares are his, with just a signature he can withdraw all charges against Osvaldo and get him off jail.

"But why, why would you do such a thing" asks Leonel "We are ending on a high note here (cerrar con broche de oro), why spoil it?"
-I will because you're the one who should be behind bars, not him".

Empacho con patas
"René", says Carolina "we have a bun in the oven".
"I think you're mistaking me for my brother Alan", replies René, "who is the cook and baker. Maybe you have indigestion?"
"Maybe, the kind that will use a diaper..."
"Well, if that happen to be true, I am sure is not mine"
"Yes it is, I haven't been with anybody else"
"I wouldn't be too sure (No me consta), but anyway, that is your problem not mine"
"I am not carrying this alone, mister!"
"You don't have to, its easy, abort it" René keeps saying "now go tell the real dad about it"
"I will have a DNA test to prove it! At least your mother didn't aborted you when your father decided he was not marrying her"
"Don't talk about my mother like this"

And things were escalating but thanks to Mauricio and Alexis, who intervene, they didn't get physical.

"Why are you crying?" asks Alexis
"What's going on here" asks Mauricio
"This is a private conversation" yells René, "Leave us alone, damn mute!"

Vino el Amor, #95, Thursday Mar 16, 2017: A Dry Spell Begins

Hi all! Cynthia is dealing with a cupcake emergency tonight. She will return as your recapper next week.

Luci tells Dave she thinks it's better for everyone if they break up. Dave can't believe life is so unfair, it's the second time that what he loves most is taken away from him. Luci says no, it's just not their time. He tells her that she's shown him the best time he's had in ages, and she will stay with him in his heart. They hug. She doesn't want to hurt anyone else with their love. He says they have to consider themselves very lucky to have lived such a special love. He says "I love you" (te amo), and she replies "I will always love you" (yo siempre te voy a amar).

They share one last whiskery kiss. Luciana walks away crying.

Lilian is having coffee with Brian. She's gloating about Marta's admission of the affair. Bri says he's sorry and he doesn't know what to say, but he looks as though he also doesn't give a crap. Lil continues that Marta said she did it to hurt Lil AND because she was in love with Lil's husband, in that order. Bri says he's sure Marta is suffering. Lil says Marta deserves it; she fooled Brian too. Lil is excited that this is giving her a second chance to be with David and with her granddaughter. (I guess Bobby can go fly a kite.) And with Brian, too. Brian dutifully smiles and puts his hand on hers. Lil assures him that she's not a bad person, and had good reason to treat Marta the way she did.

A Que No Me Dejas #130: Don't Forget I Love(d) You...

Leonel meets Mirna, Almudena’s assistant, in the parking garage and offers her a deal: pour a bottle of ammonia into the food that will be served in Mauricio’s presentation and he gives her the money she needs for her mother’s bone marrow transplant. She’s hesitant but he tells her that with the money he will give her she can relocate to the US permanently. It’s up to her but he answers an answer now.

Angelica calls Gisela and tells her that Deborah refused to exonerate Osvaldo. She apologizes but she must stay a couple of more days to try again. Gisela tells her not to worry, she understands, but asks her to do her best to save Osvaldo. When she comes back, they will get everything up to speed. Angelica then asks her about Jaime and Gisela reveals that she asked him for a divorce because she caught Jaime making plans to go away with Almudena. She told Jaime she didn’t love him anymore and doesn’t care about their marriage but she would rather he believe that. Either way, she has her dignity and she’d rather be divorced than stay in a loveless marriage.

At the hotel, Almudena suggests that Gisela wants a divorce because she thinks there’s something between them but Jaime knows her, she would’ve told him if she thought that. Almudena thinks it’s strangely that she would suddenly ask for a divorce though but Jaime thinks it’s logical because of all the times he acted strange. He asked for some time though and he will use that time to see if his new treatment works. If it doesn’t, he’d rather let her go and leave things as they are. Almudena hugs him and Alan sees them.

Vino el Amor #94; Wednesday, March 15, 2017: Vino la Verdad

As we left off yesterday, the truth comes out about Marta’s affair with Fernando. Luciana, standing in the living room is shocked at what she hears and says, “Mamá?” Fernanda also looks up and says, “Nana, what is happening?” Lil angrily looks at Marta and says, “Now they all know who you really are! And now they understand why I am the way I am with you!” Marta just looks down and is now looking ashamed and doesn’t know what to say.  Fernanda is just shocked. Lil comes running down the stairs saying, “She took my husband away from me just to hurt me!” Luciana looks up at Lil and says, “Señora, please!” Lil just looks at Luciana and tells her, “As much as it hurts to say the truth, your mother destroyed my marriage. She went with my husband KNOWING he was married to me and she didn’t care.” Marta comes out to Lu saying, “No, no, no, it wasn’t like that at all. I swear they weren’t.” But Lil goes on, “I didn’t say anything. I suffered alone with this. And why?” (Lil looks at Fernanda) “Because of you dear. I didn’t want to destroy your illusions.” Marta tries to get out of it by saying she only said those words to annoy Lilian and goes on to say, “I’m simply not capable of doing those things.”

The filler episode A Que no Me Dejas 03/14/17

This was a totally boring episode.

Jaime and Gisela: Gisela meets Jaime for lunch and gets right to the point: she wants a divorce. They don't want the same things any more and heck, they don't even sleep together. Gisela admits they have a wonderful family but that's not enough, Jaime asks her to reconsider but she says she wont. They agree to take things slowly so that Jaime can talk things out with Fabricio. Le sigh, this could all have been avoided had Jaime told his wife that he has CANCER.

Yolanda disagrees and tells them that everything will be done through Zeki from now on until she can make enough money to move elsewhere with her aunt, where no one could find them. Lizbeth thinks it’s a good idea but wonders how hard it will be to free. Yolanda then asks her how it went with the NY pickup and Lizbeth confesses she was nervous but she made it.
• Just then, Ortega comes into the airline with an arrest warrant and an army of agents. She goes to Zeki’s office and asks that he let them do their job and search everything on the premises.
• At the same time, DEA agents also raid warehouses affiliated the Central American market that use double accounting books.

Mujeres de Negro, Martes 3/14/17 Chapter 20: Out of Control

This is rather rough due to time constraints.

Bernal and Rico made an arrest. The suspect, Rigoberto Guzman, was implicated in a murder and two million pesos were involved. Kuri said that Bernal had bagged him. Borgetti congratulated him and told the others to get back to work. When Borgetti left the squad room Bernal texted Soto in forensics to tell him that for the moment there wasn't enough money to pay the fees to analyze the bomb pieces. When he looked up Kuri said she missed him. Her son was home and she was looking for a new school for him. Bernal said she could count on him if she needed any help. She smiled.

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #128. Monday March 13, 2017. The Devil Wears Tacky Animal Print And Cheap Extensions

It’s hay-hitting time at Casa Córdova and the growing unease between Gisela and Jaime is palpable. After he heads to the bathroom, a text message pings on his cellphone and Gisela takes a peek. It’s Almudena confirming their breakfast plans for tomorrow morning. Jaime had told his wife he was going to meet up with Mauricio. Gisela's eyes start shooting sparks of fury. On a brighter note, strangulation by an irate wife is a quicker death than a long painful agony brought on by brain cancer.

At the hospital, the guy who played the doctor in the last four novelas I watched gives the Murats et al. the prognosis we all knew. Tobías is missing a kidney (riñón) and two dozen brain cells. If he doesn’t quit drinking, his next night on the town will be his last.

Almudena and Alexis discuss their respective silent loves and ways to avoid them until the gran final.

Memories are in italics

Alma, Borgetti’s servant, brings Miriam her monthly single red rose from Borgetti. After all, she came to Encino Blanco because of Vanessa and Julio since they have always been best friends. Katia reminds her that things have changed and Jackie agrees. She then offers Katia her house in the meantime and Katia thanks her. Jackie thanks Katia for her friendship and for not judging her so harshly as Vanessa has done. She came to him all upset because of her differences with him (David) and wanting them to run away together. He had refused and she became angry with him. He would not comply with her request that they run away together out of respect for him and for his own father. La Piloto #4: Lift Off!

As we drop into our comfy couches this evening, Monica leads a team to examine the taxi that was used as a decoy and abandoned.  She is curses-foiled-again-impactada.

John and Yolanda finish the flight in his Red Baron (Cesna?) special.  She was loving it.  He offers to teach her to fly – all she’s got to do is say the word.  She asks what’s he want in exchange?  Growing up, she realized early on, men always want something in exchange with a woman. He had to work hard and scrabble for all he has.  A smile from her is enough.  Actually, he’s trying to do right by her for saving his life and risking her own at the same time.  She answers she would have done that for anyone.  (I kind of doubt it.)  So, consider them even now.  Just to be totally honest, though, it bugs her; she doesn’t appreciate being in gunfights or having the police hounding her all the time.  And, so, she’s heading home.

Dave is upset that the Lucios are always a step ahead of him and Monica.  They cannot keep this up or it’s watching over the drug inventory in the medicine closet of the DEA office in Barrow, Alaska for him.  Moni says they captured a phone call between Zeki and Zulima last night telling her there’s been a hit ordered on Lisbet.  (Ms. Blonde Ambition).  Dave remembers that Yoli is supposed to be with her this evening and so her life’s in danger also.  He tries calling but there’s no answer.  They can’t get there in time.  They form plan.  Outside the house, Oscar’s two goons are watching the girls enter.  They call him for directions considering there’s a second girl with Blonde Bette.  Oscar has them describe her and thinks about it.  He tells them to kill her also.  (Viewerville gasps a communal breath of angst.)

Mujeres de Negro 3.10.17 Chapter 18: Starting Over

Katia tells Vanessa that she thinks there’s a big reason why Jackie hid the video but Vanessa doesn’t think so. She doesn’t want an explanation because she put everyone she loves in danger and them as well.

Katia goes to visit Jackie in intensive care and asks her how she feels. Jackie barely nods and Katia asks if she saw her shooter. Jackie shakes her head but admits she knows who it might be: Irene Parazuelos. Katia wonders it’s because she knows she has the video, that’s the only thing that would explain that they were all attacked. Jackie is shocked to learn that they cut Vanessa’s break too. Katia confesses that Jose went to go get everything form the deposit box, though he doesn’t know what the video contained, and they now know everything she did. Katia also admits that the best think for Julio would be to disappear and wants to know why she told Irene. Jackie tells her that she had to get ZZ’s clients back and asks Katia to talk to Vanessa as she needs to see her before Vanessa tells Julio she has the tape.

Bernal and Kuri are on route to Ciudad Real when they receive a call from Jose, who informs them that Jackie woke up. They are happy and Kuri wants to send someone to get her statement but Bernal wants to do it personally. Jose asks if they have any suspects but there isn’t and Bernal thanks him and hangs up. Kuri doesn’t think he should spread himself so thin but Bernal wants to handle it personally. Kuri finds it strange that he gets so flustered when they mention Jackie but Bernal explains that he’s a professional.

A Que No Me Dejas: Karmageddon Comes to Cancún 3/10/17

This is by far the longest list of people who deserve comeuppance and therefore the longest article so far on this subject. Due to time constraints at the time I did not post at the halfway mark to list those who had already met their ends, but they are here so we can remember them and ponder their fates. For the rest the standard questions apply:
  1. What do you think the writers did to these characters?
  2. If different from the above, what would you have done instead?
Fire away, amigos. This should be fun.

La Piloto #3: With More Lives Than A Herd Of Cats - 3/9/2017

[My apologies, but I am living the recapper’s nightmare with only a poor quality video, bad audio, machine gun Spanish, and no CC’s. On Demand and Hulu+ are a bit behind.  But who’s complaining? –ed.]

(And this is just in the first ten minutes.....)

Viewerville is at the edge of their seats as Yolanda, John, and Zulima take an unexpected air born detour to the creek bed hundreds of feet below in the red bug. Dave/Arturo and Monica look on in horror.  Dave thinks on his feet and immediately grabs a rope; he then heads down the branch-filled  cliff side.  Suddenly there’s an explosion.  More horror as we learn Dave’s knocked cold—but only momentarily.  He heads back down and another policeman comes down with a fire extinguisher.  They see all have escaped into the deep-forested hillsides.

A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #123. Monday March 6, 2017. Julieta Justiciera, A Principled Psycho

Here is a quick review of the main headlines that gripped Dejaslandia yesterday:

• Maimed Murderess Found Near Park Dumpster. Or as our patio regular Lila aptly named this gruesome news item: Payback's a vitch, VIAAATCH! Julieta fed Nuria a soup laced with sulfuric acid AND made her unsuspecting captive thank her for the toxic meal, before burning her hands with a highly corrosive substance and tossing her on a heap of garbage near a public park. Julieta then called the police from a nearby pay phone to anonymously tip them to the whereabouts of famous fugitive Nuria Murat. As she stood over the horrendously deformed body of an unconscious Nuria, Julieta declares with a triumphant smirk that she kept her end of the bargain as promised: "I fulfilled your wish. You are now a free woman, Nuria." When Adriana later calls her aunt to let her know that the Murats appointed a bodyguard to protect her from Nuria, Julieta assures her that Nuria is no longer a threat. I out-villana'd the villana, corazón!

She finally delivered a sound slap at the insult to her moral fibre and stared her enemy right in the face. Too cowardly to answer back in kind, Gracie delivered one more such insult before turning tail and leaving. Luciana slapped the table in frustration.

Mujeres de Negro 3.6.17 Chapter 15: Strategy

Flashbacks are in italics

Jackie is in her house on Julio’s computer when she receives Vanessa’s voicemail asking her when she’s dropping off the computer. She listens to and hangs up as Jose announces that he’s leaving to work. Jackie thought he would be staying with Katia from now on but Jose explains that Katia has been acting weird lately. He proposed that they rent something together but she didn’t accept. Jackie asks that he give her some time since she has a lot on her plate and Jose agrees but he thinks she either misses Nicolas or there’s someone else in her life. Jackie laughs off both suggestions and assures him there is no one on her mind but him. He agrees but he will look for an apartment either way since this is Jackie’s house and he wants to give her back her space. Jackie tells him that he’s welcome any time because his presence has been a welcomed change and she will miss him. Jose will miss her too but her financial situation is not the same as when he first came. Jackie reiterates that he can come back if he doesn’t find anything suitable. Jose thanks her and they say goodbye for the night. Jackie grabs her phone and begins to type a message.

Katia is making a sandwich with Julio. He asks her for a favor: to convince Vanessa to give him another opportunity and forget the idea that he disappear and live her and their son behind. Julio confesses that he feels horrible about the situation and asks if he knows how she feels. She thinks they should talk before she does him any favors, declares she isn’t hungry anymore and storms out.

La Piloto: Main Characters

[The screen caps are poor, but it's all I had to work with for now.--ed.]

Livia Brito es Yolanda,

a very lovely young woman, a native of Tepic, whose great dream was always piloting planes.  She possesses a great deal of charm and a magnetic personality, qualities which nobody could ignore.  She is courageous, straight forward and full speed ahead, hot-headed but not violent.  Too honest, she always says what she thinks--even though at times she sticks her foot in it.  She is very loyal with her friends,  Because of her beauty men always have wanted to take advantage of her.  In fact, her own step-father, Ernesto, raped her on her eighteenth birthday, marking her for life.  Because of this she is very distrustful of men; she will not hand over her heart easily. However, she still takes falling hopelessly in love as part of her future plans and to experience a love like in the movies.

El Color de la Pasion #121 (Hulu/Uni #120), Friday, March 3, 2017: The End of the Road

Before we begin the two-part Gran Final (thanks, Uni for splitting it up and not chopping it? We shall see), I just want to thank everyone for their nice comments on my recaps and also thank and give a shout out to all fellow Color recappers. You all did a fabulous job!

For me, this show started off strong, but it's not ending there (although the story of Nora was fabulously told and acted). The middle of the show (both episodes and overall) was especially snoozy and for me, the lead couple was kind of a dud. I found that surprising since the writing and most of the acting was overall well done, and the visuals were striking. Plus it was overall dark and gloomy-themed, and I am finding those just aren't my kind of shows; I think I will stick to recapping the more light and fun fare from now on. I know, however, that many of you really love this show, so I'll try to do it justice with my final recap of it!

And here's what happened in the first part of the finale...

Mujeres de Negro 3.3.17 Chapter 14: Conflicting Emotions

Julio's letter in bold

Memories in italics

Vanessa fills in Jackie on her recent discovery: the video Julio has been looking for has been at the police station all along. She wonders why they haven’t said anything yet and Jackie assumes that since they closed the case they found no need to look in the box Tania gave them. Vanessa then asks Jackie to help her and go see Bernal under any pretense and locate the box with the video inside. Jackie doesn’t want to but Vanessa reminds her that she’s the only one who can see him without raising suspicions.

Irene gets up on the podium and begins her presentation on Dietrix. She thanks everyone for being there, especially the majority shareholder, Miriam Del Villar. She goes on to present the new Farmateca product, Dietrix, which will ensure that obesity is a thing of the past as it removes fat and toxins from the body...

Bernal asks Kuri what they should do with Zacharia’s “treasure” because they’ve run out of space for it in the evidence room. Kuri doesn’t know but they should wait for Borgetti to come back and tell them what he wants to do. Bernal hopes that the product launch is successful and Miriam makes a lot of money so she can take Borgetti away from the station since it would run smoother without him. Kuri reminds him that Miriam only gives Borgetti money and his position as commander gives him power. Bernal agrees that all he wants is power.

A que no me dejas Episode 122 (3.03.17) I might be a schizophrenic, a killer and an ex convict, but I don't lie! -Julieta

Yummy!
We start this episode with Nuria completely in the hands of Julieta, who not happy with just kidnapping her, she plans on starving her to death so she ends up as Silvia's roommate, just another woman in the freezer. Seeing that Nuria is hungry and thirsty, Julieta starts her punishment teasing her noisily slurping a delicious ice pop tamarindo flavor.

Meanwhile in the Murat residence, Gonzalo asks Alan where would he and his mother live
once they settled down.

-I dunno-Alan replies-, maybe by the lagoon or by the beach...
-I want to give you a house.
-No... I don't think I want that and neither my mother...
-Well, this could be our little secret, she doesn't have to know everything.
-Thanks, but I don't need to hide and/or lie to my mother a house from you, all I want is support, tenderness, love, company, not money...
-Don't misunderstood me-Gonzalo insists-, I need to. I love you too and I would like to repay you for everything I owe you. Besides, you are in my will. What best that inherit you in life? Think. If you don't want it for yourself, you can always regift it, giving it to your mom... Reuse, recycle, repair..
-OK dad, I will take it, not for me, but for my mother.
-I love you and I love your mom, thanks son. Now that you accepted the house, let me tell you that I am opening a new restaurant and I want you to run it. I always wanted you and your brother to help me here in the hotel, and your own restaurant in my hotel could be the best way to accomplish both. I am seeing the architect so everything is like you want it, the kitchen, the napkins, the marble floors, etc. But please, don't burn it down, ok?
-Thanks dad, you don't know how happy I am right now.
-No more than me, son. In the meantime, you can work in the main restaurant as a guest chef, with Almudena, you do like new concepts, don't you?
-Maybe she had other plans, but I will talk to her.
-Alan, I have been wanting to ask you something that could sound weird but, could you sit on my lap?. I love you and I want to hug you and give you a kiss. Muá!
Eww!

El Color De La Pasion #120 (Hulu #119) 3.2.17: Forgiving and Forgetting Is Hard to Do...

Hello everybody! This will be my final recap for Color and what a doozy it was. Thank you to my fellow recappers Nandicta, Jardinera, Delilah, Dy77, my Friday co-pilot, Cathyx and of course our fearless leader, Vivi. I came late to this one but was welcomed with open arms and it was a wonderful experience all the same. Thank you to all the regular and new commenters as well. You guys make our recaps so much richer with your insight. Hope to see you all soon :) and without further ado…

Nora runs upstairs and proclaims to Rebeca that she hates her and SHE no longer wants to be her daughter. Rebeca runs after her and stops at the other side of the stairs while Lucia looks up at Nora and Rebeca from the landing below. Nora looks at Rebeca with pure hatred then looks at Lucia with eyes that say “I’m Sorry” and climbs over the railing. She extends her hands and finally, slowly, lets go…She falls as Rebeca and Lucia scream and lands on the floor below, Alonso’s picture frame smashed below her.

Lucia is the first to react and goes to see if Nora’s alive. She is…barely and Lucia whispers why did she do it. Lucia steps aside as Rebeca comes and asks her to call the doctor. Lucia obliges and Rebeca begs Nora not to leave her, please. Nora looks at Rebeca as blood spills from her mouth and she proclaims, once again, that she hates her. Rebeca begins to cry but Nora is gone…Rebeca hugs her corpse as Lucia breaks down by the phone.

A Que No Me Dejas #121 Thursday 3/2/17- Fab boils, Nuria spoils and Tobias gets spoiled!

Fer is saved from Clemente's abduction
Felix tells the cops he's got no info for them
Julieta tells Nuria congrats, you're a mom!

Nuria tells Julieta it's not possible that Tobias is her son, because she gave her son away but not to the servants.   Oh yeah? Well my niece said you were duped because it wasn't your baby that died, it was the servant  named Chelo, but the truth is out now and everyone at your house knows he's your son.  Nuria remembers the story that Mica told her,  she had taken her baby to the orphanage and saw another baby there by the door that had died due to the cold.  Mica brought that baby home and buried it in the garden.  Julieta says she could care less whether Tobias is Nuria's son or not, but Nuria is concerned that if it's true, Tobias will hate her for using him.    Oh puh-leeze, now you're concerned with whether he hates you?  If you could give him away then him hating you is the least he'll do.   Nuria insists that if Tobias really is her son she would have known it.   Or how about this?  It's just the best kept secret that happened right under your nose!

Vino el Amor #85 Thursday March 2, 2017: Vino el tiempo para avanzar (time to move forward)

We begin where we left off yesterday as David announces to DisGrace that he is planning to buy her out of their partnership and dissolve it. DisGrace is not happy about this and begins to protest. “What”, says DisGrace, “Are you saying that I’m just like Juan? How could you? I thought you said everything was fine with us. Oh, I see you are doing this because of the olive orchard thing.” David says, “I’ve already told you that I wanted to dissolve our partnership, it’s just the best thing to do.” DisGrace continues to whine, “But WHYYYYYYYYY……????” Dave explains, “Look, I’m doing this for my children because I don’t want them to have any problems later on down the line.” DisGrace replies, “Well do you really think I’d leave them unprotected?” (Yeah DisGrace, I DO think you’d take all their money and run with it.) Dave says, “No I don’t but things have changed and it’s clear to me that you cannot separate our professional and personal realms together. It’s just best that I do things this way.”

Mujeres de Negro, Jueves 3/2/17 Chapter 13: Collateral Damage

Vanessa spoke sotto voce to her friends though Julio was in the next room. The reminded her “We're in this together” and she told them that they were in equal danger. They couldn't tell anyone that Julio was alive because if Irene found out their remaining time on earth would be limited. She would kill Julio first then come after them. They had to remain calm. Jackie was foolish enough to say that Julio returning from the dead was their worst possible nightmare. They didn't seem to worry whether he could hear them clearly from half a room away.

Plot Summary:
