Caer en Tentación #76/77, 2/5/18 Lunes: Lies and Assignations and Family Feud

Chapter 76: Lies and Assignations

Carolina lied to Santiago, telling him that she had been speaking to Lisa, who sent kisses and wishes to Benjamín on his happy occasion. Santiago was feeling amorous enough to get close and begin a kissing session with her despite the party going on in the living room. He had just kissed her when Florencia walked in to check on whether she needed any help. Carolina told her she didn't and told her to go back out and enjoy herself. Just as Santiago left with the beers meant Carolina's cell rang. She looked down and lied.

Caer en Tentacion #75, 2/2/2018: Santi and Raquel try to move on, but Damian has a different Idea.

Far away from all of the bad things, the bad people. I want to get lost in your eyes, in your heart, in your world, to be with you always. I need you." She leans over to kiss him.

Caer en Tentacion #74, 2/1/18: The proof is in the fingerprints!

Oh my gaaaaaawd. What a fun episode! Federico finds his backbone and almost kills his grandma, we have the finger print results, we know why Laura is gimpy, and Godoy gets shot! Sooo much stuff!

I'm going to take this in chunks, because I think just about everything that happened in this episode is important in moving the story forward. This will not be in order but I hope to cover everything.

Part 1:

I'll start in the past with the Alvarado's. Santiago is upset to learn that Carolina is giving Vicente money, he demands to know why she is always helping him and she tells him that she owes him, then she does one of the worst things she's done to date: she tells Santiago she has been giving Vicente money because he saved her from being raped as a child. I don't know about you guys, but I felt like hitting her, to use such a horrible thing from her past to help hide her affair is just sick.

Florencia, Benjamin's nanny tells her cousin Agustin about the fight she witnessed between Vicente and Carolina and of his accusations against Carolina. Agustin tells her to keep her mouth shut and perhaps find another job, but she refuses, Benjamin needs her (also, she wants to get into Santiago's pants).

Caer en Tentacion #73, 1/31/18: To Pull the Plug or Not...Is There an Alternative?

El Presente
Miriam is not allowed to pull the plug on Damian. Since the doc won't go behind Raq's back, Mim is going to find another way (she tells the doc imperiously). Her other way, as Raq finds out later, is to stop paying for his hospital care. Raquel is in a bind because her insurance has run out.

Santi learns Juan is the real father of Lola's baby. He's furious. How could she do this? She says this was done "to" her.

Mia, Raquel and Fede have a family discussion on Dam's fate. Mia is against disconnecting her dad from life support. It would be like killing him. There's a chance he might wake up. Raq gives her the facts on his prognosis. Fede, hesitantly, would agree to disconnect him. The person in that hospital bed is no longer their father. Mia is not convinced. This convo goes on too long. Cintia is the silent audience. Raquel says she sees both sides, but before she can say anything more Mia charges in shouting that Raq wants her dad disconnected so she can be left with Santiago. That earns her a well-placed slap. Mia stares at her mother, speechless and heads off to her room.

Caer en Tentación #72, 1/29/18, Lunes: Catch and Release

Chapter 72: Catch and Release

Carolina's cell rang. She shut if off, telling Raquel she was doing so so they could talk.
I am turning off the phone so we can talk.”
We can talk. I like clarity. I understand your reaction to what happened with Benjamín because I'm a mother. I don't accept your reaction but I understand it.” She paused a moment. “Why did you hurt me? Why did you hurt me so much?” She started to cry. “You accused me in front of my husband of being unbalanced and unable to take care of a baby. You know full well or suspected that this would prevent Santiago and my husband from allowing me to take care of a baby.” Carolina looked as though she was going to answer this but not in a positive way. “I only want you to know that I am not sick.” Carolina started, but Raquel interrupted. “No, no, no, I'm sorry but I'm not out of my mind or unable to care for a baby. It was an accident. You exposed me in front of my husband and hurt me. You are not my friend.”

Caer en Tentacion #71, 1/26/2018: To live and let live, yet when it comes to Damian just let him die.

In the past:
Carol says what matters is that Raquel does not find out about the affair, and he agrees. So I am just your lover and I am Santi’s wife. Carol tells Damian that it is time to end their relationship. He replies “are you jealous of Raquel?” to which she says that it’s not that but they are about to be discovered and she would not be able to face her children if they were found out. Damian makes his little victim face and says “I love you with all of my being” he begins to cry. But Carol just says “If you love me you have to get away from me” He then says “Don’t say that please” she gets up and leaves.

Agustin is with his cousin Florencia out in the street. Flo just bought a toy for Benji. Agustin asks her if she likes Santi. He says he knows how she is so please tell him what is going on. “You like Santi don’t you?” Flo denies it. He then tells her just watch it because he recommended her and does not want to lose his job.

Mia is having a conversation with Nico, she wonders what is up with Fede because he does not know if he is gay or not. Nico tells her to let him be and then gives her some stellar advice, “it doesn’t matter if he is gay or not, his preferences don’t matter what matter is Love. Love is love right? Don’t you want your brother to be happy?”

Caer en Tentacion #70, 1/25/18: The Investigation Heats Up (Really?) Yes, a Stolen Credit Card

Or, Dam(n) I'm Breaking Up With You Because All You Want From Me is Sex.

Folks, what luck. A CSI episode that goes nowhere fast just dropped in my lap. The recap, however, will go somewhere. Some scenes are combined.

After Antonio tells Santi about the one stolen credit card from Dam's billfold getting used (see prior episode) he quickly goes over the facts they have:
1. A rock hit the windshield. It could have been an accident, but it could also have been deliberate, to make them stop.
2. After the wreck, Dam was hit on the head with a shovel and Caro's body appears elsewhere.
3. They believe Caro was likely shot once at the scene of the accident with Santi's father's gun.
4. One credit card was stolen, although now they aren't sure if anything else was taken.

He promises they are going to follow up. Santi swears he didn't do it. Tonio says the judge will have to let him go--as long as he doesn't do anything else stupid.

Caer en Tentacion #69, 1/24/18: Alina and Mia, a tale of two nut balls

Recap time!

  • At the jail Santiago sees a woman who is wearing a bracelet that is identical to one that he had gifted to Carolina, he accuses the woman and her husband of having stolen it from his dead wife. It does not help matters any when Antonio questions the woman and realizes that the inscription on the bracelet had been erased.
  • Alina gets a phone call about Santiago's melt down and runs off to see him- oh this is right after she finishes having sex with Nicolas, who is hiding out at her house because she has led him to believe that there's an active warrant out for him because he punched Andres (more on that later)
  • How did Alina get Nico to sleep with her? By telling him that he owed her for representing her father, she won't take cash, checks or credit cards, just penis. Then she tells him she loves him (lies!)

Caer En Tentacion #68, 1/23/18: Time To Play Hard Ball

  • There's a crisis of faith at the jail between Alina and Santiago who is asking her for cash from the kids to plan who knows what through his jail-mate's connections.  Alina refuses, guessing something's up.  "--Get another lawyer if you really don't think I'm acting in your best interest.  Things take time!  It won't be long now.  It's your right to be let loose without convincing proof of the crime.  This judge knows that.  Trust me!  I will get you out of here."  Santi holds off.

  • At the same time, Raquel squares off with Miriam in the doorway of Mimi's manse de expanse. "--I'm here for Benji.  I am not going to let what you did to Damian happen to Benjamin!"  She accuses Mimi of competing with Dam for his love--and not just motherly love.   "--If I've kept quiet all this time it was for your son!  If you continue with this you'll force me to come out with it." This threat really gets Mimi screamin'.  (Mimi has an Achilles heel, after all. Skeletons apparently are just waiting to tumble out of her walk-in.)  "--Years of terror!  Years of therapy, of not being able to speak about it.  You abused him, Miriam!  Give Benji back or I will not stop till everyone knows, including your grand kids!"

Caer en Tentación #66/67, 1/22/18 Lunes: Predators and Prey

Chapter 66: Predators and Prey

Carolina asked Florencia whether she had disposed of the garbage and she said she had; Santiago was taking the bins out. Carolina appeared testy. This was possibly due to Damián's presence but also to Florencia herself. She may have sensed that the girl found Santiago attractive. She was about to have another disagreement with Damián when Raquel had entered. Santiago returned and Carolina pretended that all was well. Florencia knew that something wasn't right in this house when the two women talked about the next day. Raquel volunteered to look after Benjamín again, then left with Damián. Santiago and Carolina disagreed about Florencia's duties. Although she didn't say so Carolina felt like Florencia was encroaching on her territory by cooking for Santiago, who asked her whether she was jealous. She didn't admit to it, but he didn't really give her an opportunity. He persuaded her to finally break her post-partum celibacy.

Caer en Tentacion #65, 1/19/2018; Florencia is the 5th wheel and will make sand castles fall (or that Plot Gun is driving me crazy)

Present time:
Antonio tells Alina that if there is no physical evidence tying Santi to the crime, he still is a suspect for being the master mind. Alina asks “what makes you say that?” Antonio replies “the fact that the gun is his and the Beckers have evidence that he owed a significant amount of money to Damian.” Alina looks taken aback.
Raquel goes to see Santi. She looks weak, exhausted and tells him to resist because she needs him with her. She says she knows he did not do it. “Do you know who killed Carolina?” says Santi. She replies “I don’t know who killed her, but I do know how much you loved her, so you would not kill her.” “I thought you knew” Raquel says “no I have some ideas maybe, Miriam, Andres and possibly Vicente he is so unstable, but on the other hand Damian’s family always thought you guys were with us because you were interested in our money.” She then says “if I knew something I would tell you” Raquel continues and says “it’s important to know who took out the gun from the drawer” she speculates that maybe Carol, Santi says “what you think she took the gun out to commit suicide or to kill Damian?” {Ok patio, I need to stop here a minute…now when Raquel found the gun in the drawer she actually handled the gun right? So what is this supposition that Carol took the gun…My head is spinning…someone please tell me that Raquel did see the gun after Carol was already dead!!}

Caer en Tentacion #64, 1/18/18: Treachery is Afoot Everywhere

Part 1 of 2
En el presente
Godoy and Antonio discuss the current state of the case against Santiago. They're working on comparing the fingerprints. Godoy tells Tonio that actually, there is something more important to add to the case. The Becker's lawyer says he has evidence to use against Santiago. Tonio says that until they get fingerprint results, they have nothing. They should have the results later that afternoon. Godoy is convinced this was not merely a crime of passion. Much more is in play. Godoy is going to go back and interview Vicente. Oh, and by the way, says Tonio, Laura was here asking about him. Be careful, he warns, a woman hurt is dangerous.

Miriam apparently saw Alina there at the police station and asks Rueda why she's there. He tells her she has information for him on Santi's case and will be presenting it to the judge. He does warn her that the fingerprints might not match, but not to worry, he has another card to play. It seems Santi borrowed a lot of money from Damian but never paid it back. Dam wrote him a very large check. Miriam is pissed that Dam never mentioned it. They agree that this is enough to put Santi behind bars until he rots away. Rueda says they can't use it right now, but later it could be used as a motive for the attempt on Damian. [ed. note: If this were the case, wouldn't Santi have made sure Dam was dead and not just knocked out?] Rueda proudly puts forth his theory--eliminate Damian; eliminate the debt.

Caer en Tentacion #63, 1/17/18: Will the Real Gun Thief Step Forward, Please?

Sorry for the late post, yesterday was crazy. I had a pet emergency, my kitten has a UTI (and a heart murmur!) and we had to rush him to the vet, in addition to that it was my step dads 72nd birthday and by the time the day was over I was DEAD. Below is your recap!

  • Santiago is arrested, the bullet fragments belong to a gun owned by his dad, a gun that Santiago insists has never left his house, but it looks like it has and he is headed to the big house.
  • Andres takes Raquel home, Cinthia says she will take care of her sister and make sure she gets better. Raquel's doctor thinks it would be a good idea for her to be in a hospital where she can rest and where they can control the environment and make sure nothing upsets her.
  • Raquel is put to sleep and later Mia visits with her, Raquel keeps calling for Santiago who she says only wants to take care of her.
  • Cinthia tells Fede that they need to stick together in order to help Raquel, Mia, again makes everything about herself and accuses them of excluding her and not thinking about her and her feelings.

Caer en Tentacion #62, 1/16/18: Trapped--Everybody is Trapped

(Scenes not necessarily in order)
Epoca Actual
Raquel tries to get away from the couple that is preventing her from leaving. She is now fully cognizant of who she was with, but not exactly where she is. The "hostage takers" tell her she cannot leave, that her family has been notified and Andres Becker is coming to pick her up. The man persuades her to take her medicine and lie down.

Meanwhile, Santiago has been at the house and after being told the woman he's looking for was there but left, has been sent on a wild goose chase to the local Greyhound station and maybe they can help him. Santi talks to a police or security officer at the bus station.

Rueda reports to Andres that apparently the gun that was used to kill Carolina belonged to Santiago. If it turns out to be true, a judge can put in an order to have him arrested. They think things will work in their favor and against Santi, especially with him alone with Raquel and outside the city. He can be charged with flight.

Caer En Tentacion #61, 1/15/18: Raquel On The Loose

Jardinera apologizes for the mix-up. She's fallen ill to the current scourge sweeping the nation. Rather that delete her always well crafted recap, we'll just have double the pleasure.
  • Cinthia explains to Santiago that Mia's having a fit that her mama's not there; Raquel needs to come home and quick.  They may want to escape reality for a while but if Raq finds out that Mia's been sick and upset that she's not there with her there'll be Hell to pay.  Santi starts furiously looking for Raquel.

  • At the strangers' house in the town, the couple scheme to keep Raq there while the husband calls her rich family members off the phone list of names.  Raq remembers she left without word and got lost. Santi will be worried.  She looks for her phone and it's gone!  No way to contact him now.  She struggles to think straight; between her mental problems and the meds she's on it's hard to get two meaningful thoughts strung together.  The wife promises her that her hubby is out looking for him and will contact somebody for her.

  • Bebo agrees to accompany Lola to her abortion doctor's appointment.  He tries first to talk her out of this but she's stubbornly sticking to her guns.  No way she wants this pregnancy (let alone Juan's demon seed and a reason for Perv Profession pursuing her the rest of her life).  They head off once the babysitter arrives, and Stalker Man is there in his car spying on the two of them going off arm in arm.

Caer en Tentación #61, 1/15/18, Lunes: Obstacles

Chapter 61: Obstacles

Just the facts tonight due to time constraints and playback issues.

Cinthia called Santiago about Mia while he looked for Raquel. He did not tell her that Raquel was missing while she told him little about Mia, only that she was worried about her and that Mia needed Raquel.

Raquel's female captor gave her tea and offered her something to eat while Raquel frantically looked for her cell phone so she could call Santiago. The phone was not in her purse and was most likely in the hands of her captors. Raquel wanted to get outside to get some fresh air but the woman stopped her, telling her it was too dangerous for her to go out. She tried to tell her that she would take care of her while her husband was trying to contact her friends.

Caer En Tentacion #60, 1/12/18: Raquel shows signs of losing her mind, and who wouldn’t.

In their little get away Raquel tells Santi how she felt when she first saw Damian in the hospital after the accident. When she saw him connected to the machines all she wanted was for him to wake up and tell her everything will be find instead she found out that he was with Carol and that she was his lover. She cries and asks Santi to forgive her “I have nothing to forgive you for I am here for you”
Vicente and Andres are in Andre’s office and Vicente tells him, “you don’t know what I am capable of doing” Andres tell him to get out of his office because threats don’t work with him. As he is getting out of the office he tells Andre’s “what happened to the money that Damian owed him."
Fede sees Vicente with Andres and asks Azucena "what is Carol's brother doing here with my uncle?” she tells him to go find out himself but he says he does not want them to know he is there.
Cynthia gets home and tells Jovita that Raquel will be fine, just don’t tell the kids she’s with Santi.
Then she asks about Mia, Jovita says "she is with a friend" Cynthia wants to know if it's Nico but Jovita says no, "it's Sammy"

Caer en Tentacion #59, 1/11/18: Who is the Sicker One?

Some scenes have been combined to provide continuity.

Nacho thinks he knows who the ideal murder suspect is. Santi tells him to spill it, now. Ok, it's Miriam. Think about it. She's someone who knows every move they make, someone who is a master manipulator, who despises everyone around her, so why not Miriam. She could have planned it, she could have been responsible.

Santi can't believe she would ever want to harm her own son. He begins to recall how Dam gave them everything they asked for (and more). He concludes Dam did it just to distract him from figuring out what he and Caro were doing. Nacho still recommends taking their new suspicion to Antonio. After all, they put him in jail with no verifiable evidence, only circumstantial. Now Tonio should be willing to investigate Miriam.

Lola tearfully admits to Raquel that she's preggars with Juan's baby; that he was a big mistake, has aggression problems and has beaten and abused her throughout; that it was just a physical attraction and he's the only guy she's ever been with so yeah, she knows it's his demon seed.  He showed up at her mom's funeral; he was supposed to get help and promised that he'd changed but he hadn't.  They'd done the deed this last time and she'd foolishly not taken any kind of protection.  Now there's a burnt bun in the oven that she wants shed of.  AND. no, Papi can't ever know!!

Santiago is at Alina's law office laying the law down to her for abusing a minor.  She tries to divert, but Santi's no fool.  He sees through her kind of beauty and as much as tells her so.  She's a grown, accomplished and beautiful women who could have it all.   What's her game, anyway?  "--But what if I told you there was a mutual attraction?"  Fageddabowdit, says Santi.  Nobody messes with his son and hurts him.  Got it?  She offers to introduce him to another lawyer.  He refuses, saying she's a great attorney and he/they need her help with Benji's custody.  So, it's her decision to do it or not.  (Viewerville figures, she's going to keep her clothes on from now on where Nicolas is concerned, if she doesn't want professional problems, let alone to be thrown in the clink herself.)
