Caray, Caray!

According to my TiVo and the NBC/Telemundo web schedule, next week will be PdG for two hours starting at 12pm as usual on the East Coast, followed by Frijolito and a one hour 'best of' Doña Barbara.

Not a lot happened on Friday: Grabiela is still locked up in basement; Abuelo is still locked up at the nuthouse; the gang at the Hacienda de los Reyes still think everything is fine at the Hacienda Elizondo and Juan wasn't on at all except for a flashback.




Grabiela is afraid of the rats in the cellar but Herzog and Rubinsky tell her to be more afraid of the rats upstairs.


Grabiela flashes back to when she first met Juan, Óscar and Franco. This is our only glimpse of Juan in the whole two hours. ¡Qué lástima!

First, an announcement. According to this NBC/Telemundo online schedule:

this rebroadcast of PdG will end on Friday, Sept. 12 and the following Monday, Telemundo will start rebroadcasting Mario's second novela for TM: El Cuerpo del Deseo, also for 2 hours/day.

I missed the last half hour of yesterday's episode since everything on TM was running a half hour behind unknown to my TiVo.

Don Martín settles in at the sanatorium and is conned by Feo's evil cousin into trusting him. But Hortensia, the fruit lady, seeks him out and doubtless they will eventually discover what they have in common.

Poor Grabiela. Now she knows her father isn't at the Hacienda. It seems to me that now that Abuelo knows about Dínorah, Feonando could bring Don Martín back to the Hacienda and keep him and Grabi in line by threats to harm the other. Having Don Martín at the sanatorium is extremely risky.

Of course, Sarita, Ruth and Antonio's sneaky visit to the Hacienda gives them a false sense that everything is ok.

During filming of the novela, Mario hurt his foot in motorcycle accident and that was written into the story with the Juan breaking his leg story. If the injury made someone as strong as Juan beg to be taken to the hospital, it seemed kind of strange that everyone stood around talking and poking at him for so long. How on earth would they have gotten someone with a broken leg in the back seat of Franco's jeep with Norma? Mario obviously wasn't filmed at the same time as the rest of them but there isn't much room in the back of a jeep.

A lot happened today. We saw Don Martín have this catalepsy-type attack before. Fortunately, Feonando is an evil weakling and can't actually kill his father in law. So now Abuelo is in the same sanatorium as Fruit Lady (Hortensia). I'm sure that will be significant.
Grabi's brain must be addled by drugs or she would never have accepted Malcom's Don Martín charade. The real Don Martín would never allow his wheelchair to be pushed around by Carmela. Where did they get a wig for Malcom with about 2 minutes notice?
If before it seemed ridiculous that her daughters would stay with Grabiela, it now seems ridiculous that they are agreeing to stay away. But this part of the plot isn't going to go forward until the writers are good and ready and there is no way they can have the girls show up at the Hacienda without finding out what is going on or getting shot by Dínorah.

Ruth forgets her dream and no one guesses that instead of protecting her evil husband and his psychopathic lover, Grabi might be being threatened by them. Then Los Reyes and their wives/girls make the situation worse by deciding to leave Grabi to her own devices. Meanwhile poor Grabi has to try and keep Don Martín from provoking Feonando.

I guess they've finally run out of bedrooms at the Hacienda because Sarita and Ruth have to share a room.
