Amar Sin Limites #7 7-26-07 Thursday – Mo Shows More (of His True Colors)

We start with a recap of Azul opening her box from Diego. Inside is the red fabric rose. Can someone explain to me why she has to smell it? Did Diego add perfume to it or something? In the box is a note that reads, "To many more straps, Diego." Azul's happiness is short-lived when Morose Morris appears and asks, furiously I might add, "Why are you doing this to me?" Run to the hills, Azul! Run while you can!

Papa is working on his car, without much success it appears, when Isela walks by. She asks how he's doing, which startles him and he hits his head on the hood of the car. He's surprised she's talking to him, since she was so mad. She replies she's still not talking to him, she just was greeting him. She then walks off and leaves poor Papa standing there totally baffled. Apparently there is some history between them, of which I wasn't aware. I truly believe Papa is clueless about the people in his life. He tells her he's fine after she's long gone.

Lucia comes by to see her slimy husband, Piero. Lidia is there and says Lucia just missed him. It looks like our shady duo are going to a convention together. Lidia suggests that Lucia join them, no doubt sure that Lucia will never actually take her up on it. True to form, Lucia says Piero would hate it if she went. Lucia is all smiles and naiveté.

Azul is telling Morris she needs space. She's tired of taking orders from everyone; she's an educated woman! She needs time to think. It appears Morris is losing this battle.

Silvana has gone to Diego's favorite bar, where Diego introduces her to "Paco, my delinquent friend and my sister's boyfriend. Paco is the one who fabricated the invitation to the gala." He then introduces her to Isela, "My platonic friend." Silvana is really digging the bar and Diego. He's so easy to be with. Diego is all hyperkinetic optimism. Suddenly ominous music plays and Silvana turns into Morticia Addams. She's trying to accept it. "Accept what?" asks our Adorable Adonis. "That one day you can lose everything!" says Somber Silvana

Azul is still telling Morris she needs space. Everything in his life is planned out. His days, hours, minutes, etc. She wants more time. Morris isn't happy about this, hasn't he given her everything? How much time does she need? "I can't promise you anything," Azul replies. He tells her she didn't need to make a scene. "Partners come together; they can also separate." Mo then stomps off, leaving a pensive looking Azul.

Diego is gushing about Azul, how he gave her a rose, and something about her perfume. Silvana glumly tells Diego to distance himself from Azul; make Azul value him! Geez, Silvana is like a wet blanket. Actually, she's an energy suck. She tells Diego he's a good listener for someone in pain. "Are you in pain?" "Muchisimo!" replies our harbinger of doom. The dreary music continues to play.

Azul is walking home from the gym and whips out her silk rose for another snort.

Diego is back to his perky self. He doesn't want to think about the bad things in his life.

Morris is finishing off a bottle of something and then throws it onto the floor, shattering it. The Orchestra of Doom is playing in the background.

Azul and her rose are back in her apartment. She's still burying her snoot in it. She then puts it in with a bouquet of yellow flowers and stares at it.

Silvana continues to wallow in her misery. Diego looks confused. I'm sorry, but I just don't understand what's going on in this scene. Feel free to jump in.

Azul calls Ceci at work and tells her about Morris' reaction to her quest for more space. At first he was upset, but then he was calm. Ceci's boss sees her on the phone and glares at her, so she hangs up and scurries back to work. She must be working at an upscale restaurant.

Mo is brooding on the stairs next to a pool. He then throws his glass away and goes for a midnight swim fully clothed. Apparently he's not taking this as calmly as Azul seems to think!

Azul is instant messaging someone on her computer. She's telling the person about the breakup between her and Mo.

Diego is talking to Abuelo on the phone. Diego is sad Abuelo left. Abuelo goes on about Papa's crappy attitude towards Diego and Mama. I didn't understand the whole exchange, but apparently Abuelo is going to return to the house the next day. Diego is thrilled. They then exchange "I love you's."

Ceci is playing with her food. First Azul tells her to eat; it's delicious. Then Azul tells her to stop, she needs to show her something. She produces the red rose made out of the same fabric as her dress. Azul is positively giddy. Ceci is positively NOT giddy. Azul, being totally self-absorbed, wants to know why Ceci isn't as happy as she is. "Aren't you happy for me?" asks Azul. Ceci says she got bawled out by the boss for talking to Azul on the phone. Sometimes the boss doesn't mind, but at others times. . .

There is some exchange between Don Chucho and Diego. I'm sure it has something to do with a woman, either Azul or Silvana. The scene is extremely brief so I see no reason to knock myself out trying to figure out what it's about. Basically Diego says sometimes he feels calm and at other times not.

Silvana is talking to her dead son at the cemetery. She misses him.

Andres is reading Morris' schedule to Morris, who is sprawled out in the hot tub with a drink in hand. Morris is supposed to be on TV, or perhaps wants to be on some show. He tells Andres to do what it takes to make it happen!

Azul is telling Ceci about her fantasy of going back to Diego's store, wearing her red dress. He'll be in his tux. She'll then attack him. We then have dressing room porn as Azul is dragging Diego around by the tie, throwing him against the wall, and making out passionately. She then undoes her dress and it falls to her feet, showing her red high-heeled sandals that lace up her calves. As the fantasy ends, Ceci and Azul are rolling around the apartment floor kissing pillows and giggling. Ceci says something about Azul then throwing Diego to the floor. I'm sure you can figure out the rest. They are having a grand old time until the phone rings and the machine picks up. Ceci says Mo is probably calling for the 100th time. Andres is calling on behalf of Morris. He asks Azul to call him as soon as she gets the message; it's urgent. Azul stupidly takes the call. I guess Mo is going to be on some TV show and wants Azul to watch and give Mo her feedback. Andres then wants Azul to know that Morris still loves her.

Lidia tells Paco she won't be able to see him over the weekend because she needs to go to a convention. It's for work and will be good for her career and help with her school curriculum. She asks Paco what he thinks. Paco says he doesn't want her to go. "Will you be working over the weekend?" Lidia coyly nods and says she will. We all know what she'll be working on, and although it might boost her career, it won't affect her GPA. When Lidia asks Paco why he doesn't want her to go, he tells her, "Because I said so. Period."

Now Lidia is telling Piero how Paco doesn't want her going away for the weekend. Piero wants to know if Paco suspects them. "No," replies Lolita. She then says something about Piero's wife coming to the office. Piero assures Lidia that Lucia doesn't suspect a thing. Anyway, they start growling at one another and Lidia jumps on his lap and bites his lip, pulling it away from his face. I'd rate this scene about a 7 on the 1-10 barf scale, with a 10 being the time he smashed her mouth and opened his jaw like a python, all but covering her mouth and nose while inhaling her face. Enough said.

The saleswoman, who got attacked by the mannequin, calls Diego over. Someone delivered a gift for him. Diego gets all giddy again when he sees Azul's name on the card. He squirrels the gift away so the saleswoman can't see it. The card thanks Diego for his gift, and says this is her gift to him. It's a music CD. Diego's and Azul's love theme plays as Diego stands their grinning like a goofy little kid.

GCSSD is talking to his boss. Apparently there have been cut-backs and GCSSD doesn't like working with such limited equipment. The boss tells him times are tough and if he gets another job offer, perhaps he should take it.

Moppet alert! Katy is walking through the pool when Mo scoops her up. He wants her to see him on TV. He's her favorite actor, right? "Let's go watch!" He then plays helicopter with her and she giggles. Aawww!

Piero is standing outside on the sidewalk when Paco appears. Paco is surprised to see him. "Can I talk to you a minute?" asks Piero.

Diego is accosting people looking for a discman to play the CD Azul sent him. They all tell him to take a hike, they're busy. He actually tries to wrestle one away from some poor slob trying to balance a bunch of boxes.

Piero wants to know if Paco and Lidia were fighting about Lidia going to the convention. Finally, Piero asks Paco if he'd like to join them in Acapulco. "I'll do it for my woman, I love her!" says a smitten Paco. He sure is like a puppy. He shakes Piero's hand and bows his head; "Thanks!"

Silvana returns "home" and Emilia bawls her out for disappearing and not calling. Silvana feels she has the right to come and go as she pleases.

Mo and Little Moppet are sitting in front of the TV, joined by Andres and Lunatic Leonarda. Mo is thrilled to have the family together. Commercial

Azul is wearing a towel around her body and head as she sits down to watch TV.

Saleswoman says something about the CD and a switch. Diego tells her "No."

Diego calls Azul to thank her for the CD, taking her away from the TV. He thanks her for the invitation and wants to know if he's calling at a bad time. He wants to call before he chickens out. Diego asks if she's with her boyfriend; Azul assures him she's all alone. Azul tells him she just stepped out of the shower and is only wearing a towel. You can all but see Diego blush at this comment. He makes some comment about it being warm and Azul says she doubts he's talking about the weather. This makes Diego even more flustered. He then says he's sending her a kiss and gives this little kiss into the phone, as if he doesn't want anyone to see what he's doing. He's grinning from ear to ear the whole time. He then hangs up as Azul plants one on her phone in response.

Azul pops in a tape to record the TV show and floats out of the room.

Meanwhile, on TV, Mo is telling the reporter about his lab. Creepy Housekeeper says how proud she is of Mo and how he does such a good job explaining his job. Little Moppet wishes Azul could be there to watch the show with them. Mo makes up some excuse for why Azul isn't there and tells Little Moppet not to talk about it. Little Moppet asks if Azul is dead. "No, she hasn't died," assures Mo. Lunatic Leonarda is about to get drinks for everyone when Andres tells her to stay put. He'll take care of it.

Saleswoman hands the phone to Diego. It's Azul calling him back to talk. Diego says he hate the phone, in fact he hates all the phones, since telephones separate him from Azul. She wants to know if she should come to the store. "No, I'll come to see you!" Azul is beside herself with excitement, Diego is grinning like a Cheshire cat, and saleswoman is giggling. We then see Azul frantically trying to get ready for Diego's visit.

There's some sort of exchange between Lidia and her dad. I have no idea what it's about, but it doesn't last long so I'm sure it's not an integral part of today's episode. Probably something about her trip to Acapulco. Papa is washing dishes and Lidia is standing in the kitchen with him.

Diego is getting ready to see Azul when Mama shows up at the shop. She apparently wants him to accompany her to the doctor's office. Sorry, I don't get this scene either. Perhaps she was going there alone, but had another one of her mystery attacks. She was close to the store, so she thought she'd ask Diego. He always makes things so easy for her. Kisses all around!

Inez is helping GCSSD put on his slippers. He is grousing about politics and whatever when he suddenly sees Mo on the tube. He tells Inez that Mo is Azul's fiancé. Mo is talking about his business.

Diego is in a cab with Mama. Apparently she has plenty of time before she needs to be at the doctor's office. Diego asks if she'd mind if he made a stop first. "Of course not!" More hugs and kisses all around! Diego knocks on Azul's door and she is frantic. She runs back and forth between her room and the front door, since she's wearing just a t-shirt and a pair of really short shorts. Certainly something Stacey and Clinton from "What Not to Wear" would not approve of. She whines he was supposed to be there in 40 minutes, not 15. He's early! She makes him wait out in the hall.

Mo is talking about wanting his lab to be world class. He has someone notable in mind, who would be great for it. He then mentions Azul and says how much he loves her. Blech. GCSSD doesn't seem terribly impressed either.

Paco and Lidia are talking about the upcoming convention. Lidia doesn't want Paco there for obvious reasons. She wants to know if it was Mama's idea for him to go. "Nope, it was your boss!" exclaims Paco excitedly. Lidia is muy impactada!

Emilia and Silvana are talking about Diego and how Silvana feels calm with him.

Diego tells Azul he needs to take Mama to the doc, but that he had to come by and see her. She's tells him not to worry, she'll talk to him tomorrow. They make small talk as he's heading for the door with her pillow. The same pillow she was making out with earlier. He gets all flustered again and hands her back her pillow. As he's getting ready to leave, he sees the fabric rose mixed in with the yellow flowers. They say something about caring for the rose, but I don't understand the exchange. What I do understand is they start staring at each other with these looks of "longing." Suddenly Diego pounces on her and they start a five-minute passionate lip lock as the…

Credits roll.

July 27, 2007 Yo Amo a Juan Querendón – Juan’s halo shines yet brighter and Alirio doesn’t have the right stuff

We see Paula’s fierce disagreement with her mother again. Paula wants to live her life and make her own mistakes, because at the end of the story it’s her life, after all. Ana cannot accept it, though it pains her. They have nothing more to discuss, and Paula leaves….forever. Ana wishes her well, and Paula responds that she loves her mother. Ana says regardless of all this, she will be there to help Paula if she needs it. As they cry, Paula leaves.

On the sidewalk, Juan waits with a somber look. Paula throws herself into his arms; it’s a mixed blessing. He thought bubbles that here she is, closer than she’s ever been, hugging him and crying like a defenseless child. He puts his arms around her. He sees the irony that she is so sad and crying so much while he is feeling the greatest happiness of his life. But there you have it. He wishes this moment would continue into eternity and tells his watch to stop the time on its hands, that this moment would never leave him. They leave in the car, with Ana coming out to see the car go, her face grief-stricken.

At Farell Industries, Kike is kicked back for a lovely long chat with the owner, our own CL, who looks a tad chagrined. Kike regrets taking up his time but really needs to talk to him. Juan spoke about him? Of course, CL replies, while he struggles to figure out what this is. Kike fills in the gaps about the work he’s done, particularly with Cachón Industries early on, may Samuel rest in peace. He stands and does a twirl for CL, proclaiming himself the sole owner of a microbus. CL tries to look duly impressed and mutters all the right platitudes, and you’re here why???......What? Juan didn’t tell you? Sure, but I want to hear from you the precise details about what you’re seeking, CL recovers. Ah, Kike seats himself and tells about wanting to set up his own business. He touches the desk and is startled as his chair scoots backwards, he recovers and scoots forward while he continues to explain. He needs someone to invest so he’ll have a steady job. The light dawns for CL. But, Kike really wants to know if he has an opportunity this company. He looks around meaningfully. CL sees no problem since Juan recommended him. Kike grabs his hand and pumps it, thanking him effusively. CL finally grabs his hand away looking a bit irritated and barking at Kike, and tells him to go work the details out with Juan. Kike looks dismayed at having irritated CL, then smiles gratefully.

In the car, Juan watches the rearview mirror and hands the bandana he always carries in his waistband back to Paula to dry her tears. He tries to comfort her, but she says that her mother is very proud. He grins and tells her it sounds like someone he knows, right? She chuckles a little. She says she can’t deny she’s like her mother. He points out he succeeded in getting a smile out of her. He tells her that when she smiles, all the sky in the universe is lighted up. Her smile is so, so, so lovely. He thought bubbles about how this woman of his life is so fragile. He hates to see her suffering and won’t leave her alone for anything in the world. He’ll forget all other women, including his little Marely. He’s going to focus on one: Paula Dávila.

CL welcomes a smiling Monica and not-smiling Pastor to his office. She doesn’t understand why Pastor wants that section of the company reorganized. He tries to explain why it should be as he stands behind her, trying to send signals to CL to work with him here. CL points out it looks good on the surface but really needs work. She’s perfect for it. Nope. Not acceptable. They don’t need me there, she says. Okay, what do you think to do? Something closer to you! CL agrees in a voice that’s going half an octave higher than usual. Monica’s got to go to Doctor Baquero, and Pastor makes a lame joke about whether he’s a doctor or a cattle tender (vaquero). She rolls her eyes and works on CL to go with her. He works overtime to get out of it, but gets stuck. He escorts her out the door with his arm around her waist, but turns back to make threatening gestures at Pastor, who is beginning to look desperate.

In the garage, Fern does his crossword while Juan helps Paula out of the car. She comes face to face with CL and Monica. CL, anxiety at high pitch, looks at Paula, then Monica and then Paula. He nervously introduces them, and Monica smiles while Fern and Juan lean together whispering and making book about whether there will be an explosion soon.

CL tells Monica that this is VP he told her about. Monica makes a complimentary comment about all she’s heard from her husband, and Paula is self-effacing. CL’s gal pals chitchat, and his anxiety increases as Paula directs a terse “gee, thanks a lot, Licenciado” at him that Monica doesn’t register as unusual, but CL sure does. He rushes Monica off to their appointment, so they “won’t be late.” Monica wishes her a lovely farewell and goes to the car; CL looks back over his shoulder while Paula glares at him over hers. He knows he’s in deep kim-chee, it’s every mujeriego’s worst nightmare, having his wife meet the paramour he really, really wants to keep getting it on with. Paula stalks off with Juan on her heels.

At Marely’s desk, Kike is jubilant. He was so smooth with the “lic.” He’s in like Flynn! She grins at him fondly. What’s he going to do there? He’s not sure, but it’s going to be good, because of Juan.

In the elevator, Juan comments on how lovely the boss’s wife is, and didn’t they look cute together. Paula is distinctly displeased, makes a terse comment to Juan, and he registers that he’s made a faux pas, rubbing salt in the wound. Oops.

They enter the lobby, with Paula thanking him while she stalks off to her office, where Kike is still celebrating his good luck with Marely. Juan looks worried, still by the elevator, and Kike spots him. Kike runs over to him, exclaiming at approximately 95 decibels that Juan has been busy but got everything arranged. He grabs Juan’s hand and shakes it. A crowd is gathering to enjoy the exchange. He grabs Juan to hug him, telling Juan to let him thank him as he deserves, he’s of the law (a real solid guy!). Kike lets him go and pumps his hand again. Fellow workers are enjoying the show. Kike kisses the back of Juan’s hand. Juan nervously asks what he means. Guess what? I can’t guess! Kike wants to go to his office to tell him in private. Juan talks him out of it. He’d rather eat. So early? Okay. Kike continues patting and thanking Juan while he pushes Juan to the elevator. Juan sees the suave persona he’s established for himself with co-workers evaporating before his eyes. Kike grabs him around the waist, grabs Juan around his own shoulder, and reaches for the elevator button. The crowd is well and truly mesmerized.

CL and Monica are chatting, sitting close together in his car while Fern tries to act like he’s ignoring the exchange. Monica thinks Paula seems very lovely. She waxes eloquent about Paula’s virtues and loveliness; she’s young, too. She thought of Paula as different, but she seems self-assured. Monica likes her, and is glad to have talked with her. CL is less and less happy with this new coil. Monica is always interested in the commercial area of the business and may be able to help soon. CL doesn’t THINK so. Why? Paula’s new, etc. Oh, but she is well prepared to do this job! Yes, Monica understands, but thinks they’d make a good team. Fernando has given up trying to listen inconspicuously, and is grinning from ear to ear about this new development. CL is about-to-be-busted impactado.

In Paula’s office, Marely comes in and Paula asks for a favor, and also, please don’t call me Licenciada because it makes me feel so old. Marely wants to know if she wants to go eat together. Paula’s not hungry. [Ed. Note: why not? After meeting the amante’s wife, she should be going for Ben and Jerry’s Chunky Monkey. Julie taught me that.] Marely says CL was looking for her, and Paula says she met up with them in the garage. Paula asks Marely for a favor again.

At the cemetery, Rosario and Ana appear to be preparing flowers for Samuel’s grave. Ana tells about the problems with Paula, and she couldn’t find a way to prevent Paula from making the same mistake as she did. Rosario asks what was that? Loving a married man. Rosario comforts Ana.

In a restaurant, Juan cannot believe what Kike is saying about the discussion he had with CL. Kike insists that CL said good things about Juan, this guy adores you! (Sorry, folks, I couldn’t find many of the words in my multiple dictionaries). Kike never would have believed that Juan would have so many “ins” (palancas = handles) with the boss. He is jubilant still about this turn of events. Juan tries to be very humble about this. Now Kike is his fan. Juan thought bubbles that this is all very lovely, but there’s a major doubt in here, with CL covering his back like this. Boy, is he ever going to owe CL big time. It’s pretty strange.

In the cemetery, Rosario and Ana walk away from the grave, talking about Paula’s situation. Rosario points out that Ana doesn’t have proof positive of a relationship between CL and Paula, he might actually be getting ready to separate from his wife. He wouldn’t be the first man in the world to do that. The majority of such relationships work out. She encourages Ana not to deny her daughter’s right to the experience. She encourages Ana to prove to herself somehow if CL will really divorce his wife for Paula. They talk about how they can find out.

At the doctor’s office, Monica is excited about what they saw on the sonogram, and CL is sour about it. He really tries to dampen her enthusiasm. She doesn’t understand his lack of it. She wants to go eat a huge steak and salad. He doesn’t want to, because he wants to get back to the office. She talks him into the lunch. He makes all the proper noises for a loving husband, but his face tells another story…..

Marely brings a folder into Paula’s office, concern on her face. It’s what Paula wanted, but Marely wants to know if it’s what she really wants to do. Paula sighs and signs a letter in the folder. Marely is upset.

Yadira comes into Nidia’s bedroom to see her mother rubbing her temples and slams the door. Nidia holds her palm out to Yadira to leave her alone. Yadi looks disgusted with Mami. Poor Mami, her head aches sooo much! Yadira isn’t buying it, and demands to know why Alirio is so afraid of Paula. Nidia gets shifty-eyed.

Pastor is receiving a paper from Paula and asks her what it is. He is muy impactado to hear it’s her letter of resignation. Why? What’s bothering her? She says it’s strictly personal. He points out how briefly she’s been there, her whole career is in front of her. She says yes, in the US. He wonders if someone has bothered her. She gives the perfect answer for anyone exiting a job with personal reasons: I feel these are opportunities I need to have. He stands up; he’s aware they’ve had their differences, but they really ought to try to understand each other. She bitterly tells him it’s not about him. It leaves him completely cold, he says. She slightly sarcastically thanks him for everything and apologizes for the bother it caused him. Pastor looks at the letter again as she leaves, biting his lip and no doubt worrying about how CL is going to blame him for her abrupt exit.

Nidia complains to Yadi about Alirio because he’s worried about Paula fighting for an inheritance from her father. Yadi wants to know if she really could, and Nidia says she has nothing to reclaim. Yadi’s not so sure. Nidia wants to be left quiet, so Yadi stalks out while Nidia peeps at her behind the hands she has at her temples, and Yadi gives the door a good slam on the way out. Nidia drops her hands and rolls her eyes, and tells Alirio in absentia that he’d BETTER get her that money.

Speak of the devil! Alirio’s incognito at the bank in line with his shades on. He talks to himself, gets out of line, convinces himself to get back in, and pushes the people out of the way to get his place back, then talks himself out of line again.

Monica and CL are enjoying a pleasant, cozy lunch. Well, at least half of them are enjoying the pleasant, cozy lunch. She’s telling him there’s clearly no place at Farell Industries for her. He tries to be comforting while still affirming that there really isn’t any place for her there and they talk back and forth about her options and how Farell isn’t the right one…..so she’s going to set up her own business from home. She won’t have to travel and can be close to the baby. CL thinks that’s the best idea she’s EVER had. [Ed. Note: we just bet it is, CL]. He leans over to kiss her and his cell phone rings. She’s disgusted.

It’s Pastor. What could be so important that CL’s lunch is interrupted? Pastor tells CL he has in his hand Paula Dávila’s letter of resignation. THAT gets CL’s full attention!

In Paula’s office, Marely is scrambling to try to get Paula to stay; she’s worried about her own job, too. [Ed. Note: Marely, honey, pay close attention: you are the boss’s goddaughter. Your job is SECURE!] She tries to get Paula to tell her why she’s leaving. Paula tap dances about her reasons, and alludes to some other folks in this office.

CL has left the table to talk to Pastor. He asks about the letter and Paula’s reasons. Pastor can’t tell him much except it seems to him Paula didn’t like seeing him with his wife too much. CL panics, tells him to stall Paula, and works his way out of lunch with his wife faster than the speed of light.

In Paula’s office, Marely tells Paula she’s surprised that Paula is running away from the problem. She has a great job. She should stay and fight for what she wants. Paula denies this, it’s a lost battle. Marely is disappointed. She says Paula seems like a strong woman, a fighter. Paula is tired of fighting. Marely takes her hand across the desk and is hopeful that Paula will trust her enough to tell her what’s really going on. Paula begins to cry and sits back; Marely leaves, looking back sadly over her shoulder.

Monica asks CL if he’s gotten really bad news. He should get an Oscar for this performance. The news is sooo bad. She wants to go back with him to help. He weasels out of taking her back to Farell Industries. He tells her she is always there when he needs her….

In the garage, Juan finds Paula just standing. Why didn’t she tell him she was waiting there? She tells him there’s no hurry. [Ed. Note: guess not, since you just told them to take this job and shove it, Paula.] He thought bubbles that at the time he thought this was because of the fuss with her mother, but it was about her resignation. Troubles always come in together. He asks if she has eaten; she hasn’t. She wants to go to the hotel. He tells her troubles are better with bread. He thought bubbles about his little caramel mouth and this trouble. Juan asks her if she’s sure she wants to go to the hotel. Yes. He thought bubbles that this would be his chance…..He leans into the open window of the car and asks if he can ask her something. What? Don’t misunderstand me, you’ve been good folk with me….she doesn’t want to talk about the fuss with her mother again. No, that’s not it; could I invite you out to eat? She’s a bit impactado.

Rosario and Ana search through Samuel’s papers. Ana hopes to find CL’s home number. What??? Is she going to make anonymous calls like Ivonne made to her? Apparently. They talk about how so many women have become involved with forbidden men and suffered; it seems that Rosario has suffered, too. [Ed. Note: it wasn’t clear to me if she was the woman cheating with a married man or cheated on by her husband. Help!] Women have so much to overcome in this world of men.

Paula gets out of the car. [Ed. Note: huh? She just got in and wants to go to the hotel.] Juan affirms he wants to take her out to eat. He won’t let her be alone now. He sees it in her eyes; they are the windows of her soul. But she wants to be alone. He won’t let her. He just wants to be with her. He steps closer, so she is looking waaaaaay up. She finally smiles and tells him he’s an angel. He thought bubbles that this woman really knows how to cherish with words. He responds, okay, I’m an angel, is that a yes or a no? She chuckles that it’s a yes. She wants to go to her hotel and get freshened up and then go out. Juan, beaming and stumbling over words, helps her into the car. He dances around the car and thought bubbles that she wants to freshen up for HIM! He is totally stoked as he thought bubbles about his turn of good fortune. He drives out of Farell’s garage as CL’s and Monica’s taxi pulls up……

….but oops, Monica’s not with when his taxi gets back to Farell. Good job, CL. In Pastor’s office, CL holds the letter and begins to rant about her stupid resignation. Pastor tries to calm him. No luck. [Ed. Note: Pastor, this is a lost cause, trust us. His hormones are out of control, so you might as well give it up now). CL yells that Paula knew he was a married man when she saw him in the garage with his wife! CL yells at Pastor. Didn’t he try to convince her to change her mind? Yes, but it was useless. CL keeps yelling and Pastor cowers at the rage. Marely comes in; apparently, someone called for her. CL asks if she knows what’s up with Paula, is she coming back? Nope. She didn’t tell Marely anything. CL storms out, bumping the stuffing out of Ivonne (it’s just a saying, there’s no stuffing missing, folks). Ivonne complains about being bumped and wonders what’s up with this guy? Pastor hands her the letter. She reads with her lips moving and smiles, and smiles, and smiles….we see Marely’s face looking increasingly distressed at Ivonne’s glee…..Pastor smiles at Ivonne and nods slightly, yep, ding dong, the WITCH IS DEAD! Marely’s eyes glance toward the smiling Pastor…..

Nidia comes into her bedroom in her bathrobe and slippers, her hair up in a spiked ponytail. She is deep in thought. She turns to her bed and screams at the top of her lungs…..and we see male legs bent up on top of the bed, naked except for white socks with red stripes. [Ed. Note: we know immediately it isn’t Juan because he’d have his boots on.] HORRORS! It’s Delirio wearing an evil, sleazy grin and not much else. Nidia backs against the wall, and calls to her God to protect her. Delirio’s tongue gently licks his upper lip as he contemplates the near future……[Ed. Note: Eeew. Gross!] Nidia is disgusted-commercial impactada.

Again the intro to the next scene shows Alirio counting money….omigosh, we’re back in Nidia’s bedroom with a semi-nude Alirio adorning her bed, his shirt and tie causally flung over the side blocking our view of his glorious self. The camera pans to show his hairy legs and arms [Ed. Note: keep this muchacho DRESSED, director!] with his sleeveless tank-style undershirt and white socks with red stripes. What have we here? There’s a slim piece of paper sticking out of one of his socks. He holds out her arms and tells her not to be afraid of the temptations of the flesh. There is just no way words can describe how sleazy he is here. She puts her hand up as a blinder and won’t look. It’s not fear, she says! (disgust? Chamuco?) He tells her not to suffer, not to repress her desire (his sugared Queen). She’s looking at him like he’s a toad on her bed and he’s not getting it. [Ed. note: Alirio, pay attention!] He creeps toward her on his knees toward the end of the bed. She tells him the only thing she’s afraid of is that she’s going to slap him [Ed. note: what’s holding you back here?] and she’s going to call the police if he doesn’t get the heck out. Alirio wants to know what’s up with that? Here he has so much ardor (he looks downward to emphasize the ardor) and she’s rejecting him. She calls him a thief. He pulls the paper out of his sock (smooth, Alirio! Nice shot of all that hair on your leg). What? It’s a check with all the inheritance from her deceased hubby. She gasps with pleasure as he smiles smarmily and holds it out toward her….but pulls it back. There is no greater proof of his love….he falls gracefully onto his back on her bed in a suggestive position with the check in his hand over his head…..and oh, yes, in case you wondered—it’s boxers, not briefs. Fairly tight boxers at that. He drops the check behind him on the nightstand and continues to attempt to tempt. His legs get wider and wider apart. He says he’s not moving…..until they have put out this fire together. She smirks at him while she eyes the check and moves toward him, grasping his hands until she can pull him up and push him right out the door, telling him it won’t happen until h*** freezes over. [Ed. Note: okay, I paraphrased.]

Alirio, out in the hall by now, wonders why not? He’s gotten the estate back to her. Doesn’t he please her? (He indicates his marvelous self, top to bottom….use your imagination ‘cause I ain’t describing the gesture). Well, I would if you were an Adonis, she says and gestures toward him, but that ain’t the case. If they marry, they marry. Until then, she’s old-fashioned and is going to do things as God requires. They’re back in the bedroom and Alirio sees his window of opportunity closing fast…..He wants some proof of her love! She holds him off with her hands, true silent movie style. But wait, they’re talking still. She calls him a libertine. He grabs at her and tries to paw her; she bats him away and runs to the stairs. He follows and stands at the top of the stairs, begging her with open arms and legs. Nidia poses on the steps flinging one hand against her chest and moving her robe up on her leg with the other, looking at the ceiling like the true Drama Queen she is as she tells him passionately about why he’s not getting’ any. He declares that he’s Tarzan and pounds his chest. [Ed. Note: the director really didn’t need to include the crotch shot here.] She slinks down the steps while he continues to beg and she yells at him. He’s somehow gotten his dark shoes on and follows her down the steps, still begging and calling out endearments like “my heart of melon.” They arrive at the fireplace in the living room and turn around just in time to be totally impactados by the sight of Juan coming in, also totally impactado at two underdressed seniors. [Ed Note: What an incredible performance by these two! Pure vaudeville! Total comedy!]

Nidia runs to hide behind Juan. He wants to know qué the heck is happening here!?? He throws Alirio two pillows to cover his vital parts, (which are already covered by boxers, for what it’s worth.) Alirio denies anything is going on. Nidia pipes up from behind Juan that he shouldn’t leave her alone with this nut. [Ed. Note: okay, maybe she didn’t say nut.] Juan thought bubbles to himself about this extraordinary scene with Alirio’s ardor that he never would have thought to see, and that as the man of the house he needs to clarify the situation and bring order. He yells at Alirio—caramba, what’s happening in this house??? Alirio looks pleadingly at him, still holding one pillow in front and one behind.

In Ana’s house, she and Rosario have found what they wanted and Ana is about to call CL’s wife. She can’t, though. Rosario convinces her it’s for her own peach of mind, a good cause. Ana calls and gets the maid. She lies that she’s calling from a company and it’s very important…..for the lady of the house. Ana’s doorbell rings. Rosario gets it. CL storms in, telling her good afternoon and seeing her on the phone. Ana looks at him, impactada, as Monica answers.

Nidia sits on her bed and complains about that crazy Alirio to Juan. Oh, my, what a sob story! Juan couldn’t have arrived at a better moment, Alirio was about to dishonor her and smear her reputation! Juan is incensed. She’s a decent woman! She tells him he says such lovely things that RAISE her spirits (hoisting). Alirio is an animal who cannot control his instincts. She gets up and backs Juan against the wall….the difference with him is that he is always a total gentleman. He realizes she’s got him nailed and he tries to talk his way out of the corner. They exchange thoughts about Alirio while Nidia strokes Juan’s bodacious chest. He’s getting nervous as a cat with its tail under a rocking chair. She calls him the man of the house; God blessed the home by putting him there. Juan finally works up his courage and puts her away from him when she starts caressing his face. He wants to have a serious talk. She gets Alirio’s clothes, shoves them at Juan, and tells him to tell that prehistoric animal that she never wants to see him in her life again. Juan takes the clothes and beats a path out. Nidia goes back to the check on the nightstand. She kisses it several times.

At the steelhouse, Monica and the maid are puzzled by the dropped call. Monica asks what it was about and Chelito gives the name of the company that Ana told her. Monica shakes her head.

At Ana’s, a very nervous CL is asking about Paula. Ana is impactada that Paula has resigned. He says he doesn’t know why. Ana says Paula won’t come back home, and tells him why. She hedges, but finally tells him. They had a strong discussion – about him. She wants to know exactly what is going on between Paula and him. He is muy, and I mean muy, D***-I’m-busted-impactado….but we are reminded that any comparison to reality is purely coincidental.

Apuntame Disparame--Theme from Amar sin Limites Translation

I'm not recapping but old habits die hard. The other day I found myself looking for the lyrics online to Apuntame Disparame, the theme from Amar sin Limites. Then I tried to translate them. Here is the result. I had particular trouble with /El corazón te roto amor/ which I translated as /The heart you have broken love/ which doesn't make any sense.

It's kind of a depressing song, moody and introspective. Vivame, the song from la Madrastra, which she also did is too--but it was more uplifting. I guess this is supposed to fit the darker themes of ASL.

If anyone wants to jump in and make suggestions, feel free.

La tele apago ya,
La mariposa sin la luz cayo,
Me pasa a mí también,
Es uno de mis límites,
Por cualquier cosa caigo yo
Y escalofríos siento cada vez
Pero decías siempre tu, siempre tu

Yo te he dicho vete,
Siento el perfume de la ciudad
Donde me encierro en soledad,
Este es otro de mis límites
Cuando te pienso, siento que
Escalofríos me dan otra vez
He sido estúpida, y lo se
Yo lo se...
Yo lo se...

No pienses más en mí
Apúntame y dispara,
Tu corazón he roto amor
Dispárame, dispara
No pienses más en mí,
No esperes de mi nada
Tu corazón he roto amor
Dispárame dispara aquí, aquí

Se bien quien soy yo,
Aunque no haya leído "freud"

Translation:

I turned off the TV
The moth falls without the light
It happens to me too
It’s one of my limitations
I fall for all kinds of reasons
And I feel chills every time
But you would say always you, always you

I have told you to go
I feel the perfume of the city
Where I’m enclosed in solitude
This is another one of my limitations
When I think of you, I feel that
they are giving me chills again
I have been stupid and I know it
I know it
I know it

Don’t think of me anymore
Point at me and shoot
Your heart I have broken love
Shoot me, shoot
Don’t think of me anymore
Don’t expect anything from me
Your heart I have broken love
Shoot me, shoot here, here

I know well who I am
Although I’ve never read Freud
It’s my way of thinking
[A way] I could never overcome
This is the only [reason] I’m here
And you are a thousand miles away
And you sleep with who knows who now there, now there

Don’t think of me anymore
Point at me and shoot
The heart you have broken love
Point at me, shoot
Don’t expect anything from me
The heart you have broken love
Shoot at me, shoot here, shoot here

Shoot here, shoot ehhh

Don’t think of me anymore
Point at me and shoot.
The heart you have broken love
Shoot at me, shoot
Don’t think of me
Don’t expect anything from me
The heart you have broken love
Shoot at me, shoot here, here

Acorralada #135 Thursday 7/265/07 The mystery man strikes

Today on Acorralada:

Larry rescues Silvia and Mariposa from the sewer. They are able to go to the bar and give another performance of their flamenco act.

Iggy and Camila worry about how they will support themselves without Eddy. Iggy says they might have to get jobs. Camila is horrified. She sputters that Eddy should have left them $50,000 to let them live out the year without worry.

Alejandro goes to see Emilio, who called him Max. Max reminds him that he's not Max. He then gets to sneak a visit with the baby. Emilio is the new ninero.

Diana gets home and the apt. is empty. The phone rings, and it's "Alejandro," calling to chat. It seems he is as predicted drawn to her. Before they can speak more than hello, Diana is grabbed by a masked man, who was hiding in the shadows. He brandishes a knife. She screams, and Max hears, so he knows something is up.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Roddy is introducing Bratty Girl to Miguelina and Lala, who are exceedingly dubious. He tells them that Fedora doesn't know yet, but he'll tell her as soon as she gets home.

They show Bratty to her room, Max's old room. She tries to order Lala around, but Roddy tells her to stop. As soon as she closes the door to the room, she smiles and starts jumping on the bed exultantly and playing loud music. This attracts the attention of our favorite villain, Kike, who comes in dressed only in a towel. As we all predicted, they start kissing immediately! Isn't that what always happens when strangers meet? They are interrupted by Gaby knocking on the door to say hello. Kike hides under the bed. Sharon is pissed off and mouths off to Gaby. Gaby notices the wet towel on the floor.

Kiki and Sharon resume the action only to be interrupted by Roddy. She tells him to go away.

Meanwhile, Emilio comes home and interrupts the attack. He is stabbed by the masked man, who runs away. Who is the masked man? We don't know. For once, the masked man was not unmasked by the victim.
Just then Alejandro comes in. How did he get there so fast? Anyway, he calls 911 (because of course Diana didn't), and they get Emilio to the hospital. They leave the baby with a neighbor, and they call Silvia and Camila and Fedora. Fedora rushes out before Roddy can tell her about Bratty.
After their fun between the sheets, Kike goes back to his room, where Gaby is waiting. She asks why he is walking around nude or in the towel. He concocts some story about swimming for two hours. She then puts her two brain cells together and remembers the wet towel in Bratty's room.

At the hospital, Camila is worried about her brother, but not worried enough to bury the
hatchet with her arch-rival Diana. She keeps trying to get her to leave.

Fedora shows up and two hours have passed. Funny, because Max got to Diana's apt. in 30 seconds, but Fedora took two hours to get to the hospital. She tries to stop Camila from fighting with Diana. Silvia also shows up with Jorge. Camila wants her to leave also. Telemiami's one detective interviews Alejandro and Diana. At least at looks like Emilio will survive. Thank goodness. I couldn't stand to have another good character killed off.

Finally, we see Diego and Iggy discussing the plot, and it appears that we are to think that Diego committed the stabbing. Here's where I am not sure. Can someone explain what Iggy and Diego were talking about. I'm still not sure whether they want to kill Diana or kill Max so Diego can get Diana back.

Destilando 7/26: Gavi Gets the Gig and Aaron Loses His Cool

Destilando Cafe wrote this one and sent it to me last night. Thank her for stepping in for us!!!!

Clarita convinces Gavi to call Avellaneda one more time--"one more humiliation-what does it matter?" Avellaneda is talking to Rodrigo, and makes him promise not to cause problems in his office with Mariana Franco. The phone rings--she almost misses him--he answers and tells her to come in at noon. Gavi is jubilant and promises to work holidays, Mothers Day, every day!

Clarita is still worried--what will the Montalvo family do when they find out she has been hired at the Consejo Regulador de Tequila? Gaviota replies that they can do whatever, she will never leave the CRT, even under a hail of bullets.

Back at the Corporativo, oily Onate dangles the keys of Gavi's car in front of unctuous Elvira and insinuates "I deserve a prize, no?" (What could he WANT from this prune?!) Elvira actually invites him to her house, but he backs off and settles for the offer of a drink.

Elvira walks into Rod's office and tells him she's been given Gavi's car for being such a great employee! Rod muses on the injustices inflicted on Gaviota. He demands from Onate some paperwork on tequila shipments and refuses his request that they review them together.

Meanwhile, at Arroyo Seco, Meester James prudently locks up Acacia and promises he will return with a cell phone for her further protection against Meliton. As soon as James leaves, she hears Meliton's voice shouting for her as in days of old, "Acacia, ACACIA!" She curls up in a ball on the sofa, covers her ears, runs around the room checking the locks. Sure hope James brings some Haldol with that cell phone.

Gaviota thanks the virgencita and pulls out a nice outfit for her appointment with Avellaneda. She and Clarita have decided to stay in the room pending confirmation of her job offer.

Isadora is on the phone with Sofia commenting anxiously that Rodrigo came back from his little chat with Daniela in a cold and distant mood. Sofia says Dani promised not to tell. Isa is not convinced.

At the hospital, Daniela tells Videgaray she has had news about Gaviota. Aaron is talking to his mother--he is not happy with Rodrigo's return to the Corporativo. Fedra urges Aaron to get back to Miami and embarrass. . .er, impregnate Pamela ASAP. Aaron says it's not that easy--she insists on marriage first. Aaron assures his mother that if Isa's baby is the long-awaited varon of destiny, he will make sure that it is never born; with this remark he edges Lord Voldemort as villain of the week.

In Avellaneda's office a group of tequileros is talking about a fast-moving plague or disease of the agave plant that threatens the whole region. The remedy is the application of copper sulfate, supplies must be procured and workers trained to save the agave crop. A task force will be created and--an assistant to the chief biologist is urgently needed! What a break-Gavi is awaiting anxiously in the reception area. She will be hired as assistant to Demetrio Urban.

Gavi is finally shown into Avellaneda's office and introduced to the group. After they leave, Avellaneda pulls out the required letters of recommendation which Gavi was worried that she did not have. Avellaneda has written one himself--and the second is from . ..Rodrigo! He hands it to her to read and we hear Rodrigo's voice pronouncing the glowing words, praising her talent, her warm humanity, wishing her well for moving on, and ending the phrase "I have the certainty of having lost a great woman." Gavi leaves the office with the letter and Avellaneda thinks "Here, without a doubt, is love."

In the reception area by Susana's desk, Gavi clutches the letter to her chest and cries. "Why, Rodrigo, why?" In a split screen we see Rodrigo, "Why, Gaviota, why?"

Rodrigon, in his office, looks out the window pensively. Elvira enters and he orders he to locate Aaron and tell him to return to the Corporativo.

Aaron is with Bruno who wants to know why he is leaving. Aaron says he has unfinished business in Miami, but will stop by the Corporativo to see if Rodrigo needs anything. Bruno is worried about the cash flow in the corporation and urges Aaron to repay his loan. "A man who is not true to his word is worth nothing." After Aaron leaves he laments that he has a son who is a fraud.

Minerva appears in a red blouse with a very strange collar. She says goodbye to Bruno, who hopes she will return soon and that Aaron will learn to appreciate her.

Fedra mentions to Aaron that Minerva will be on a cruise for two months. Aaron tries to hide his anger. Elvira calls to tell him Rod is waiting. After he leaves Patricio says he still wants Minerva. Fedra says no, he is crazy about Pamela.

Pamela is seen sitting in front of a computer, suffering from Aaron's neglect.

Downstairs in the hospital parking structure, Aaron lurks, waiting for Minerva. He gets on her case, tells her to stop acting like an adolescent. She verbally kicks his ass, tells him others find her desirable even though he did not, plants a disdainful kiss on his forehead and keeps on walking. He follows and continues to berate her for her conduct--she replies that she was nineteen when she met him and then began acting like a 40 year old, now her youth has returned to her and she is going to enjoy every minute of it! She gets in the SUV, he slams the window with his hand and a spiderweb of cracks appears! (Mexican safety glass must be really substandard.) She drives away, a little disconcerted about the cracked window, but triumphant.

Rodrigo calls Avellaneda at Dani's urging, to make sure she got the job. He is angry that she is only an assistant, not a manager. Dani reminds him not to overreact. Rod says this is all the family's fault. Dani says, don't them know that you know, let them sweat. Rod really wants revenge against Aaron.

Speaking of the devil! Aaron walks in --cymbals crash, an exchange of meaningful looks. "Are you conspiring against me?" "You're not that important, cousin," laughs Dani on her way out.

Back at the CRT, Gavi learns that working for Urban is not going to be easy. She has a lot to learn and her new boss is not a patient man.

Neither is Rodrigo at this point. He tells Aaron to pay his loan back to the Corporativo in three days, or he will suspend his tequila shipments.

Next time--Francisco wants to hurry up the wedding. ---Rodrigo sees Gavi for the first time since the Big Lie!!!

Juan Q - Thursday 7/26 - Cesar squirms cuz he's a worm, but Juan is an angel and a prince.

Hi all, on Saturday morning I leave for a three-week vacation, no TV and no computers. Would one of you other recappers be willing to post a date and title on the next three Thursdays for me? I'm hoping that some of our commenters will weigh in with a sentence or two (or more!) of what happened in the episode.

On with the show...

We begin with a repeat treat of Paula giving Ivonne an earful, poking her in the head, then pushing her out of the elevator. Paula continues down to the garage and instructs Juan to take her to his house immediately.

Cesar and Monica drive up moments after Paula leaves. Cesar doesn't want to go up with Monica so Fernando makes up a story that he has to talk to CL privately. CL acts all bummed out in front of Monica but afterward thanks Fer for "playing the ball well". He gives Fer the "thumbs up compadre" sign, Fer just shakes his head in disapproval.

Alirio tells Nidia with great flair that when he visited Paula at the office she was a fiera and nearly tore him to shreds while ejecting him from her office. Furthermore, she suspects there is something fishy going on because Nidia is so anxious to get rid of Ana and Paula...as he, Alirio, told Nidia she would be.

Nidia insists there is nothing to worry about because Samuel's original will is gone and only the forged will remains, right??? Alirio begs her, for once in her life, to be tactful and diplomatic. She retorts that the snot-nosed brat Paula doesn't scare her. Alirio wheedles some more and dramatically concludes that no matter what he will not shoot himself in the head like the deceased Samuel! (Uh oh, I really hope Alirio doesn't off himself cuz I like his obnoxious self.) Nidia rolls her eyes like "I only wish."

On the drive over Paula tells Juan that she's angry, furious, hysterical. Juan, thinking he's in trouble, talks a mile a minute saying he has no idea why Marely refused the job, he doesn't understand why Paula wants to go to his house, hablabablabablaba... Paula tells Juan not to worry, there is a lot he doesn't know about her.

Juan continues to suffer in angst. Paula finally does the big reveal...she tells him that she and Marely are half sisters. Juan is slam-on-the-brakes, bug-eyed, drop-jawed impactado.

Paula asks Juan can he imagine how she felt when her own half sis came in and asked for a job, especially after he recommended her? Juan is aghast that Nidia and family are the ones tormenting Ana and Paula. Paula tells him the Ana/Samuel story. "WOW!" Juan exclaims, dumbfounded, speechless for once.

CL sequesters Monica in his office. He sees Marely and asks her what's up. She informs him she is Paula's, er Licenciada Davila's new secretary. CL says he respects her work ethic, it's just like her dad's. He glances at Ivonne's empty chair, looks at his watch and frowns.

Paula hopes Juan doesn't think badly of her mother, now that he knows she spent her life sinning with Samuel and all. Juan assures her not at all, there are no bounderies when it comes to love and sin. Then he makes a funny face and thoughtbubbles, "Like mother like daughter." (I paraphrased what he said, it was rather complicated.)

Paula goes on a tirade against Nidia, explaining to Juan the bad things Nidia has done to Ana recently. Paula doesn't need Juan's help and doesn't want to get him into trouble. She will put that woman in her place on her own!

Ivonne wasn't at her desk because she's in Pastor's office complaining about Paula's behavior to her in the elevator. She says Paula is a fiera who thinks she's the queen of the place. Pastor sees through Ivonne and asks her to swear that she's not the one who's been making crank calls to Ana. Ivonne insists she's not but Pastor doesn't buy it. He knows his gal pal too well.

Marely daydreams about Juan at her desk.

Pastor gets a call, CL wants to see him right away. Ivonne throws her hands up...great, the boss is here and she's not at her desk. This morning sucks!

The next scene is classic - Cl, Monica and Pastor are in CL's office. While CL tells Pastor to find his wife a job, she's very bright and will be a great asset, he stands behind her making all kinds of sign language that says 'Get her the hell out of here, NO JOB!! Pastor's face goes through a series of confused contortions as he tries to decipher CL's true intent. Pastor takes a deep breath and goes for it, he has the perfect job that requires Monica's many skills, it's at the plant in Pachuca! CL nearly wets himself in joy. Yes! Pachuca! (Kudos to Alexis Ayala and Pedro Romo for a truly funny scene.)

Juan parks around the corner from Nidia's Nuthouse and directs Paula to it. Yadi begrudgingly interrupts her manicure to answer the door. She and Paula trade barbs but Yadi's no match for Paula today. Paula brushes past her and clickety-clicks into the main room. Defeated, Yadira fetches Nidia while Paula tenderly looks at Samuel's picture.

Nidia is screaming at Alirio to tell her EXACTLY how much inheritance she can expect when Yadi interrupts. When Nidia hears that Paula Davila is downstairs she does an epic chest thrust and tosses her hair back. Aliria tries to prevent her from going downstairs. Nidia calls him a chicken and says he has no...(cups her hands like she's holding his huevitos)...he has no...guts!! She pushes him aside and Yadira follows.

Meanwhile Juan is outside with a worried look. He recalls the night he arrived, when Samuel ordered him at gunpoint to take care of his girls, especially Marely the only one worth salvaging, and don't forget about Paula. Juan remembers being confused. Who was Paula? Samuel shoots himself and scares Juan back into the present. Claro! Paula is his palomita, and Samuel entrusted her to Juan's care. Life is a difficult path sometimes.

Nidia must have cut Alirio off at the pass because she is the one talking to Paula. Paula says she has Personal Business with Nidia. Nidia insults her but Paula stands firm, she'll not leave until Nidia hears her out. Nidia likes to talk, not listen, but she does a chest heft and tells the Señorita to follow her. Yadi and Alirio press their ears against the study doors.

Pastor sucks up to Monica and extolls the virtues of the job in Pachuca. Monica sits and listens patiently, she says the job sounds wonderful, PERO...she wants to enjoy this pregnancy working side by side with CL. It's what they both want. CL squirms. Pastor thinks. He has another great idea, he needs an office manager for the main delicatessen. Monica likes this idea, she'll go for it even though she has no idea what it entails. Whatever. CL gives her the bum's rush and Pastor escorts her to her new job. Great idea Pastor, let the pregnant lady work around all the food.

Nidia tells Paula she has five minutes to say her what's on her mind. In between Nidia's insults Paula manages to state her case. She has a proposition for Nidia, she wants Nidia to 1) stop trying to take away Ana's house, 2) stop trying to get them out of the country, and 3) stop blackmailing Marely into quitting her job. Nidia smirks, it's the stupidest proposition she's ever heard of in her life! And what will she get if she agrees to these demands?Paula retorts that if Nidia lays off then she will NOT thoroughly investigate everything having to do with Samuel's will. Alirio, listening outside, nearly faints.

Paula goes on to say that Nidia and Alirio's recent behavior has made her suspicious and if Nidia insists on tormenting them then she will investigate until she finds out what Nidia and Alirio are up to. Alirio graps his throat like he's choking. Paula tells a somewhat mollified Nidia to think good and hard about her proposal. She blasts through the doors, flinging the eavesdropping pair aside. They try to act nonchalant.

Kike enters Farell Industries offices looking for Juan. He is suprised to see Marely. He can't believe Juan kept his promise and got her a job. The office gossipers stroll over to spy on the conversation. They eyeball Kike; maybe they're interested in him even though he needs to do about 500 situps a day.

Paula tells a worried Juan that everything went fine, much better than she imagined, now they have to get back to work. Juan tells her no, there is an important something she needs to do first. He saw Ana this morning and she was sad. Paula gets a stubborn look on her face but Juan keeps working her, talking in his sexy persuasive voice to please give mama a second chance. He acts out for her how they will kiss and make up. His antics make Paula smile...OK, she cannot say No to Juan.

Alirio has a complete meltdown because Nidia didn't do as he advised and now the fiera is sniffing at their trail. She tells him to shut up, she has a very simple plan. She will act like she accepts Paula's proposal, the stupids will forget, then after a while...they'll be mole (pulverized sauce)! She will completely destroy their lives, this time for good and Alirio will help her reclaim her property. Alirio hems and haws, he tells her that actually, in reality, no dear Nidia of his heart, he will not. He lied to her, he never falsified Samuel's will in her favor like he told her. Nidia is wide-eyed impactada, her eyes get pretty darn wide.

The commercial advance shows Alirio counting his money.

Nidia gasps and cries she has nothing! She is ruined by Alirio's lies! She stands up, glares at him, and in a divine about-face begins to circle the desk after him. "No wedding!" she hisses. She chases and shouts insults at him. When she corners him he starts talking to save his skin. She can't be paid Samuel's inheritance because, well, basically he embezzled it. "You robbed me!" she shrieks. She chases him round and round the desk.

Kike tells Marely that he's at Farell Industries seeking employment as a chauffeur so he can earn more money so Yadi will treat him with respect and admiration. Marely sighs that sooner or later Yadi will see he's the man for her and Fernando's deceptions will be a big surprise for her. Kike perks up his ears, deceptions? What does she mean? Is he married? Does he have kids? Is he half poofter? Marely tells him to beat it, she has work to do.

Nidia's got Alirio in an arm lock. He pleads for his life, he never thought to keep the money for himself, it was going to be her wedding present. She chokes him until he promises to hand over the money...tomorrow! He says he will give it to her as part of their Marriage Agreement. "Pay up now," she demands, "before the little bird flies."

Paula tells Juan he is an angel for persuading her to visit her ma. He smiles and says life is too short to fight with those we love.

Inside the house - Ana paints, hates her art, and smears her palette onto her painting. The doorbell rings. Ana answers and she and Paula stare at each other.

CL is majorly miffed because Paula has been AWOL all morning. He asks Ivonne if she knows where Paula is. "Miami," Ivonne sarcastically answers. It's not her business to know. La Licenciada was there this morning but then she left. She accuses CL of being afraid his two women will meet. Cl squirms. Ivonne advises him that nothing gives away a cheating man faster than a bad case of the nerves.

CL asks Marely about Paula. Kike pushes CL to get his attention, he is Enrique Bueno, Juan's friend. Has Juan spoken of him? Cesar looks confused.

Ana and Paula make up, tears, apologies, things are looking good. But then Ana asks Paula to give up her job. This boring pair go on and on so I'll try to make it short. Paula has been on her own and doesn't want mom to run her life. Mom can't stop being a mom. Paula wants to make her own mistakes, will mom let her live her life? Mom says as much as it pains her, NO. Paula says they have nothing more to discuss. Mom says she will always be the mom and will be there if Paula ever needs her. It's a mother/daughter Mexican standoff.

Paula goes outside, sees Juan, and rushes into his arms. Wow, it's like a dream come true for Juan except that his sweetie is really bummed out. He's not sure if he should hold her. He thoughtbubbles "I thank the heavens for her sadness because thanks to her tears I now feel the greatest happiness of my life. It's an ironic contradiction but there it is. I want this moment to last for all eternity. Watch, (he's adressing his watch now) you hold time in your hands. Make this night last forever so that she never, ever goes away from me." He embraces her sadly.

I love Juan!!!!

Advance for tomorrow: a disastrous encounter, later Paula gives Pastor her resignation.

echar balone fuera = evade the issue (lit. to throw the ball outside)
enredar = to tangle up
Dando y dando, pajarito volando. = Do the money exchange now. (lit. giving and giving, the little bird flies away)
floripondio = big poofter (derogatory slang for homosexual)
para colmo de males = to make matters worse

Dear friends, next week I will be in the Galapagos Islands, the following two weeks I will be in Peru hiking Machu Picchu. I'll be back August 18th and will resume my recapping duties the following Thursday. I'll miss you all and look forward to catching up when I get back! If I happen to run into Christian Meier I'll give him a kiss for each and every one of you. We get like 600 hits a day, right? heh heh

Amar Sin Limites #6, Wednesday 7-25: Gala Night and the Morning After

Previously on Amar Sin Limites: There's a very long "previously on" segment including such events as Azul and Diego's googly eyes at first sight; Piero and Lidia trying to eat each others' faces (por dios! Get some kissing lessons, people!); and the teeny-tiny strap on Azul's dress breaking.

Azul finally agrees to let Diego help her with her dress and he proceeds to very, very sexily sew the strap back on. Frankly, I don't see how anyone could get that excited about having a sharp needle that close to a sensitive bit of anatomy, but whatever. She tells him he knows how to sew really well and he says that’s what he's been trying to tell her all night. Meanwhile, legions of adolescent boys wonder why no one ever told them taking home economics could get them some play. Before they can consummate their wardrobe malfunction, Azul and Diego are interrupted by someone coming into the bathroom. They hide in one of the stalls and Diego attempts to retrieve the needle from Azul's cleavage, but she smacks him on the hand and gets the needle for him. Did all of that sound really dirty? Cause it should have.

Lidia has come to visit Boss Man (Piero?) at his house, which gets him all hot and bothered. Apparently he has a thing for his mistress coming by and chatting with his wife while he puts his daughter to bed. And apparently, getting him all hot and bothered was her goal.

Diego continues sewing as he and Azul hide out in a stall in the ladies' room. There's more flirting about Diego's sewing and more shushing each other and lots more heavy breathing. It occurs to me to wonder how he's going to cut the thread. I typically bite mine when I'm sewing…whoa, and so does he! So wrong! ("It's sewing porn!" my husband exclaims. I realized later that I missed Diego cutting the thread the previous day because my DVR cut off and then they didn't re-show it at the beginning of today's show.) Diego says he'd like to live in the ladies' room with Azul forever (ew!). Mauricio calls Azul on her cell phone to tell her he's on his way, but she's a little distracted. She covers the mouthpiece and tells Diego to stay and not follow her. Mauricio is telling Azul she needs to make him look good when he gets there.

Silvana is nervously watching people arrive at the party and drops her bag. Security are keeping their eyes on her. She bumps into Diego on her way to the ladies' room and he helps her in there. Someone should tip him for going above and beyond the call of duty as bathroom attendant tonight. She's looking pretty unsteady on her feet, but she tells Diego she hasn't been drinking. He innocently asks her what she's doing there and she tells him it's a long story. She asks him if he's with the gal in the red dress, that she saw them, and that she (Azul) likes him. He tells her he's got to go back out there and chase after Azul some more. Silvana asks him to see if she's being followed since she wasn't invited. It does look like security is waiting for her to come out, so Diego tells her he'll deal with his unfinished business and then help her get out of the bathroom.

Diego's dad is desperately trying to get some, while Mama tells him she needs a little more time to get, uh, motivated. Ya'll I'm trying to keep this as clean as I can, but the writers sure aren't helping! He complains about not knowing when she's in the mood and when she's not. Mama asks for more delicacy and more time…and oh, by the way, it would also be nice if he didn't talk to her dad that way. She calls him on his "owner of the house" line by reminding him that Abuelo helped pay the mortgage a couple months when they were about to take the house away. Take that! He storms out of the room.

Silvana has attempted to escape the ladies' room without waiting for Diego. Security asks to see her invitation and she tries to tell them her "husband" (Diego) has it. Another Security person asks Diego for his invitation as they have a problem with his "wife" but he says he left it in his coat, which he checked. Security want names to check against the list of invitees. Diego gives them "Carlos Moreno," but they're not on the list, so Security ask them to leave. Diego good-naturedly escorts his "wife" out the door while stopping to grab Azul and smooch her in a not altogether unpleasant way before he leaves (Piero should take notes). As Mauricio passes Silvana and Diego on the stairs she starts insisting that she has to go back, but he keeps escorting her out.

Azul is being very subtly rude to Mauricio's business contact Burgay (?) telling him they missed the best of the music and there's probably no food left, except for some sweets. Mauricio turns on her the minute Burgay goes to check on the sweets, telling her she's doing this on purpose, he already explained why he was late, and asking her again in his subtly menacing way, if she can't be nice, could she at least pretend to be the kind of woman a man wants in a situation like this? She gives him a big fake smile and tells him she can.

Burgay tells Azul that since he got there, Mauricio hasn't stopped talking about her. Azul keeps up her sarcasm, saying that Mauricio exaggerates and that she gives him whatever he wants since she's not allowed to fail him. Burgay tells Mauricio that Azul is enchanting. Azul says everyone's said so, ever since she was little and asks if Burgay would like more champagne. He declines and leaves the table to go say hello to an old friend. Mauricio asks if all her clowning is because he has responsibilities other than her. Azul says she's just trying to be nice. Mauricio would like an explanation of what's going on. Azul says she thought he wanted a stupid girl who smiles and puts up with anything. She explains to him that one does not leave a woman waiting alone at an event like this and that people who do it to her (leave her waiting) can go to hell. She says he has to learn how to treat a woman and leaves. He calls after her, but doesn't leave the table.

Diego and Silvana are walking down the street, but Silvana says she doesn't care where he walks her to; the only thing she knows is that she needed to kill someone tonight and she failed. Diego says, "me too, but with kisses." Silvana assures him that she's serious and has a gun in her bag. Diego says that's why she didn't let her bag go all night. Silvana is surprised he noticed and says he's intelligent and that intelligent men are very dangerous. She has another dizzy spell and Diego puts an arm around her and tells her to breathe deeply and keep her head up.

Back at the party, Burgay has noticed Azul's absence. Mauricio lies that he sent her home. Burgay says she's immature and that's why she's resisting Mauricio. Burgay thinks she needs an aplacadita (some calming down). Mauricio says she's intelligent and beautiful, but Burgay reminds him that above all, she's Toscano's daughter, which makes her more interesting. Mauricio says she doesn't need to be anybody's daughter to be interesting, but Burgay reminds him that they need Toscano (for what, we still don't exactly know) and Mauricio shouldn't upset his daughter again. Mauricio promises not to. Burgay suggests they visit some female "friends" of his who aren't so "hysterical" and asks if Mauricio has cuerda (literally "rope"; I think he's asking if Mauricio still has enough time/energy, but I would be much obliged if someone could confirm).

Azul is back at home, telling Ceci that for once she (Azul) put Mauricio in his place. Ceci is surprised that Azul left him there. Azul tells Ceci that she saw Diego there and that he didn't stop following her all night. Ceci wants details. Azul only tells her Diego kissed her. Which I guess is true, but really seems to leave a lot out.

Diego has brought Silvana to his house. He says he's going to bring her water. Silvana tells him not to call the woman in red tomorrow because in life, you have to know how to wait. She says she's going to wait and everything will turn out well. Diego says he doesn't know if he'll be able to wait. Silvana either passes out or falls asleep on the couch. I must say, I know Azul's supposed to be the romantic lead, but I think Silvana is way prettier. Just my $0.02. Diego finds a note on the dining table addressed to "Clemencia y Diego." The note reads: "Children, the die is cast. I didn't tell you personally because I knew you wouldn't have let me leave, but the truth is, I don't want to argue with Manuel again. He's ruder to you than usual because he knows it bothers me and so he does it adrede (on purpose). I'll be with my friend Efrain for a week and then I'm going back to Tepatitlan. Lots of love, Aurelio."

Diego carries Silvana into his room and lays her down on the bed. He undresses and gets into the little cot. We see that Silvana is sleeping, but tossing and turning. Diego reaches over and takes one of her hands. He tells himself again that he doesn't know how long he can wait.

Looks like the next morning Azul is annoyingly chipper. She's yelling at Ceci to hurry up and she says she's fixed her some juice. Ceci complains that it's grapefruit juice and couldn't Azul have at least added some vodka (mmm, breakfast of champions). Ceci curses Diego. She says she understands that Azul needs to work out her frustrations, but she doesn't think it's fair that she (Ceci) should have to go out running when she doesn't want to go running. Azul denies that Diego is why she wants to go running, since it was just a kiss, and tries to get Ceci out the door. They stop when the phone rings and listen to hear Mauricio ask the answering machine if Azul is there. Azul tells the answering machine that she's already left and pushes Ceci out the door.

Silvana is telling Diego what a nice guy he is for bringing her home and letting her sleep in his bed. Diego asks if she wants more coffee, but she declines. She asks about the stuff in the room and he tells her his Abuelo is a sastre (tailor) and that he (Diego) is as well. She seems surprised. Diego tells her his Abuelo taught him how to do everything, take measurements, trazar (sketch), hilvanar (baste), cut, make pants, jackets, chalecos (vests), abrigos (coats). Silvana asks him if he does women's clothes too. He says he's an expert at fixing women's straps and flashes back to his intimate contact with thread the previous evening. He asks if she remembers the girl in red and tells her he fixed her strap in the bathroom. Silvana says if he likes her he shouldn't call her, women's intuition. Diego says he'll respect it faithfully. She asks if he's faithful and he says he's faithful to what's good for him. Silvana says she's faithful to those she loves and those who give her life meaning. She says she's leaving, but Diego says he'll lend her clothes (she's still in the peach dress from last night). She jokes that he makes women's clothes after all, but he tells her he has a sister. He jokingly asks if she has any color preferences before he leaves the room.

Azul finishes up her run and sits on the grass by Ceci, who either ran faster or gave up earlier. Ceci says that if this guy gets her like this with one kiss, she can't imagine what she'll do with the first revolcón (tumble; roll in the hay; etc.; and thanks for making the joke for me, Ceci!). Azul says she needs some peace, to think about what's going on: the two classes she needs to finish her degree, her lack of money. Ceci says she can teach Azul how to live on the cheap. Azul says she's dando vueltas (going in circles) about working with Mauricio. She asks Ceci if she thinks Diego has a girlfriend. Ceci laughs and falls back on the grass.

Diego brings Silvana into the kitchen and introduces her to his parents. His mom looks pretty shocked. She asks about Abuelo, but Diego tells her Abuelo left and Silvana slept in his (Abuelo's) bed. Mama reads the note. Silvana says she'll send the clothes back as soon as she gets home. She says Diego told her Abuelo was a tailor. Papa says that back in the day people used to wait in line for him to make suits, they waited in line because they had the time, but he doesn't have time, so he has to go. Wow, dude, way to make it all about you. Silvana thanks Mama for the bed, breakfast, etc., but Mama is distracted. She says she has to talk to Papa about the letter and asks Diego to serve Silvana breakfast.

Lidia and Piero are at the office smooching and smushing noses and just begging to get busted. At least they're not trying to suck each others' lungs out today. Piero asks where they should go. He suggests an apartment he has in Acapulco. Lidia counters with Puerto Escondido. Piero accepts, but wonders what she'll say to Paco. She says she'll say she's going with some girlfriends, but asks what it matters. She asks what he'll say to his wife. He says he'll tell her he's going fishing and that he won't have to give much of an explanation. They get interrupted by a woman coming into the office who thankfully announces her presence by loudly wishing "Daniel" a good morning (I'm guessing this is someone off screen). They try to act innocent until she leaves and then Piero says they'll go this weekend. Piero heads into his office and Lidia sits at her desk and bites on a green pencil.

Silvana apologizes to Emilia for being out all night. She says she didn't feel well and slept at her friend's house. She says it won't happen again. Emilia says that Silvana can't do stuff like this while she's under Emilia's care. I'm having a little trouble with the whole ex-sister-in-law/therapist/host thing, but I'm just going to have to accept that the rules of ethics are a little different in Telenovelaland and move on. Emilia tells Silvana she's still not ready and they should go slow. Silvana agrees and says that it's taken her off track from her objectives (she doesn't answer Emilia's question about what objectives she's talking about). Silvana says yesterday she only saw sad faces and that today she woke up in the middle of a simple family having conversations she hadn't heard in years. She said it calmed her down and made her feel there's something she needs to come back into her life. Emilia says she needs to go back to being a complete, happy woman.

Azul and Alfredo are chatting about an event Azul would like Alfredo to go to at some club. She tells him she's realized that what she needs isn't money, but the adrenaline that he enjoys so much. Meanwhile Diego is despairing because he can't get through to Azul on the phone. Ja! Once she hangs up with his dad, he gets through on dad's line, but hangs up as usual. Dude, you're thirty--you should have stopped doing that when you were a teenager!

Diego goes upstairs looking for some red thread and complains that he can't find any. Don Chucho gives him some from his private stash. Diego is planning to hem a piece of that red silk fabric from earlier to give to Azul, but Don Chucho says he can't just give her a piece of fabric like that. Diego says she'll understand, but Don Chucho tells him to wait and he'll see. Go, Don Chucho, work your magic!

Ugh, moppet time. Caty is sitting by the pool. She calls Azul to tell her she's sad because Azul doesn't come to visit her. Caty says her dad told her he and Azul were fighting and she wants to know if that's why Azul doesn't come over anymore. Azul says she's just busy and that she loves Caty. She promises to visit soon and Caty asks if she'll visit today. Azul says she can't because she has to visit her dad. Caty asks if her dad can take her to where Azul's dad is. Sneaky little moppet. I guess she learned from the master manipulator himself. Azul says they just can't see each other today, but that she doesn't want Caty to be angry at her, they'll see each other another day.

Diego is continuing his stalking by visiting Alfredo's apartment. He catches Alfredo coming out the door and hassles him about a package he wants to leave, but Alfredo is trying to pawn him off on the doorman, who isn't currently answering the door. Diego hands Alfredo the package and Alfredo hands it back, asking Diego who he is to be leaving a package for Azul Toscano. Diego asks if Alfredo can give the package to Azul and says she'll know what it's about. Alfredo wants to know if she's expecting the package and whether Diego is a friend of hers. Diego asks who he is and Alfredo says he's her dad. Diego says it's a pleasure to meet him and that the package isn't anything dangerous and then he takes off.

Azul is in a bar talking to Emilia about how bad she feels for not being able to see Caty. Sounds like she's already told Emilia about running into Diego the night before. She says she's confused because she doesn't want to get distracted from her objectives. Emilia asks what objectives she's talking about (ooh, let's see if she gets an answer this time!). Azul says she had a fight with Mauricio and she's wondering if she really wants to marry him or if she'd like to do something else and not think so much about the future. Emilia says maybe she should go with her instincts for a while and quit being so obsessed with money. Emilia thinks it would be good for Azul to see that boy again who made her think about and doubt so many things.

A man behind a desk is advising Alfredo to accept Mauricio's offer. Mauricio thinks that would be like throwing away thirty years of work. I guess this is his boss, because he tells Alfredo that he didn't want to have to tell him this, but cutbacks are coming and things are going to get difficult.

Ceci drags Azul out of the bedroom to listen to the messages on the machine. Ceci thinks it's funny that Mauricio has left four messages. The messages get progressively more angry and in the last one he says he's losing patience. Azul looks sad and tells the answering machine that she's losing patience too.

Silvana couldn't resist the lure of Diego's house. She came back on the pretense of returning the clothes she borrowed. Mama tells Silvana she should go to the pool hall nearby where Diego is hanging out and say hi. Silvana says she'd rather call him, she doesn't want to bother him. Mama reaches out and takes Silvana's hand. I think Mama knows something's up with Silvana, even if she doesn't know what it is.

Alfredo is practicing his fencing with Azul. He wins this round 5 to 4, so I guess they're pretty evenly matched. She tells Alfredo she's losing her reason. Alfredo mentions the boy he saw today who had something for her that Alfredo's not sure he should give her since the guy didn't seem terribly sane. Alfredo starts to spout some psychobabble, which cracks Azul up. She tells him to get to the point. Alfredo gives Azul the package and goes to get some water. Looks like Don Chucho made the red fabric into a rose. Diego included a note that reads: "To many more straps, Diego." The theme music plays and we end on a shot of Azul looking muy encantada.

Acorralada #134 Wednesday 7/25/07 The unholy alliances continue

Gaby decides to let Kike stay. He flashes an evil grin behind her back at how he has put one over on her. It is unclear to us whether she really thinks he has turned over a new leaf or she is just resigned to the abuse. It's so preposterous that she would continue with this relationship at this point, when she need not fear getting rid of him and even her mother is finally on board with giving him the boot.

Marfil meets with "Alejandro" to plant some seeds of her evil plot. She hints that Diana is the one behind the fire. She also throws in some points about Diana sleeping with Diego. And how Diego hopes to get Diana back. He never had her, so I don't know what this is about.

Larry comes to see Diana to discuss Alejandro.

Sharon calls Roddy to tell him her mother died. She begs him to come to LA. He decides to go, but he doesn't tell Fedora the truth about why he is going right back to LA after having just returned. That can't be good, because our dear revengeful Fidiota won't like having been lied to.
Why doesn't he just tell her the truth? It really doesn't fit in with her character that she would be upset at finding out he has a long lost daughter. After all, she was happy for Paco finding his long lost daughter.

Marfil goes over to Octy's palace of plastic fish to have a meeting with Fiona and Camila. It seems Fiona is living there even though Paco threw Octavia out and he is in Puerto Rico. I can't explain. The form a strange bedfellows alliance to get rid of Diana. It's all so kooky, I can't really follow their plot. The will be an alliance of "viboras" (vipers), or "perras rabiosas," rabid dogs. Camila, meanwhile, says she's sure that Alejandro is really Max.

Alejandro tells Pedro that he thinks Diana was involved with the fire at the manicomio. Pedro ridicules him for this. He should also ridicule him for his white shoes, which "Max" is still wearing. This should be a dead giveaway for all the other characters!

Silvia is over at the bar with the trannies. They seem to be friends again, and they decide to go shopping. I really could not follow what they were talking about. It seems that the trannies are going to get her a makeover so she can get a husband.

Eduardo calls Diana to tell her she's going to leave. She will always be his friend. She flashes her best patronizing saccharine smile.

Sharon now cries on Roddy's shoulder. He doesn't want to take her back because of his new wife, and I have to admit he is really in the wrong here. She really lays it on thick. She never had a father, she is all alone, he just views her as an "estorbo," a nuisance. Please take her to Miami. How can he turn his back on her? Finally he agrees to take her back to Miami. She hugs him and we see that she, too, flashes an evil grin to the camera. She definitely belongs with Kiki!

Max plans to make Diana jealous.

Gaby cries.

Diego goes to see Diana at the hospital, and when he grabs her she tries to get away. He tells her to calm down--she wouldn't want a scandal. This is always a favorite line of characters in this show.

Silvia and Mariposa are walking in street near the mall. They fall down a sewer! (alcantarilla). Luckily Larry is driving by, and he will help them get out. When you see Larry on the street, he is looking down a very small hole that is not big enough for them to have fallen through. Meanwhile, when they show them in the hole, it is a big space, filled with rats. We now have a chance to see quite a few disgusting scenes with rats running around, and finally Silvia even picks up one by the tail. I think it was a live rat! Not a fake! I just can't understand what the point of this scene could possibly be!

Lorenzo goes for a haircut. Paco calls and tells him he's coming home. I wonder if he knows all those women are living in his house.

Camila and Iggy plot some more about Diana. They learn that Diego and Fiona have an alliance. I can't really tell anymore. They figure Diana will finally be going to prison. Then they see Eddie packing his bags to leave. They are horrified: Their gravy train has left the station.

We see Emilio open the door to his apartment to greet Alejandro. He says: Hi, Max. Credits roll.

Juan Q 7/25 - The Wednesday Juan curse strikes again, not those Chinese Chickens

Ok, I'm starting to think my recaps are cursed because every week now I've had some issue with some small part missing. What are you trying to tell me Juan??? Well this week even though I watched my machine recording right in front of me, and can see the grooves on the disc, when I went to review it, it won't play and acts as if nothing was recorded, sooooooo all this is from memory. Thank heavens I was writing while I watched, so I had notes, but I know I missed the details of several conversations. Please add as you see fit. Thanks.....

Paula tells her Mom That the person calling has to be that stupid girl Ivonne. She’s in love with him and her territory is threatened so she’s trying to make my life miserable. Mama wantsto know what she means by invading territory. Paula says she didn’t say that. Mom knows what she heard and asks her…Are you involved with CL? Paula answers more or less.

GAYtan gives up his car to the thugs begging them not to do anything.

Paula fesses up to Mom she says they had something to do in Taxco, only a few kisses. She’s not convincing. Mama pushes it begging her to look in her eyes and tell her if she slept with him. Paula very obviously avoids her eyes. They continue discussing this.

Pau says he will divorce. Mama brings up her Papa that he said the same thing and accuses her of repeating history. Paula says it’s not the same because she gave him conditions for them to be together. Paula says she’s in love, and her love isn’t ok, but Ana’s was? She says that’s not fair. Mama is upset. She kicks Paula out.

Marely tells Juan she can’t accept the work. He is wondering what happened. She says she thought about it and it’s not what she really wants. He blames Pastor, and she says sort of, but not completely. She says say what you what but I can’t accept it. He continues, fine, you are a big girl even though you don’t look like it. You could do so well and move up in that company and it’s a good job but it’s your life so if you want to throw it away, fine go ahead. He says to himself that he couldn’t imagine at that moment that Marely had the most noble of intentions by refusing that work.

Yadi over hears Mar and Juan’s conversation and tells Nid. She says it was Juan that Mar was telling and that he was the one who brought Mar to Paula. Nidia is not sure that he is a traitor though.

We have a tear fest between Ana and Paula, but Ana doesn’t budge and Paula walks out in her spiffy white coat.

Fer shows up outside at Casa Cachon. They are eating dinner. Nid wants to know why Juan is upset. He says office stuff. Yadi asks if he’s seen Fer today he says he has but why? She says she hasn’t heard from him yet.

Outside Perfan shows up and sees Fer and takes his money for a taxi and says that he saved his life. Perfan invites Fer in to eat dinner, that he is very hungry.

CL calls Ana to talk to Paula, when his wife comes around the corner he stalls and then asks for Pastor Gaitan. Ana tells him wrong number and he hangs up. She notes the name and thinks that’s weird that he asked for that name as if she recognizes it.

Cl and Moni discuss what he was looking for Gaitan for. They discuss something about work and he ends up saying he’ll dine with his beautiful wife.

At dinner Nidia asks Fer if he’s eaten, he says no but he’s not hungry. Nidia says with his noodle thin body, he needs to eat and she tells Yadi to serve him a plate. She then tells Perfan that she needs to talk to him in the study immediately. He wants to eat, but she tells him the food won’t run out so come now.

Juan yells at Fer that he’s going to have to tell Yadi the truth. She comes out just then and wants to know what truth. Juan tells her something to do with work and he leaves the table.

Nid rehashes the Mare/Paula encounter and again Perafan tries to convince her to leave them alone. Nid says we still have a card to play, we won’t get anything from Ana but maybe from the daughter. He says no they are the same and we are going to end up thrown out on our asses and without a lifevest! Nid tells him he has to go talk to the daughter or else he’ll be without a bride before the wedding

Fer and Yadi and Chinese chickens – Ok this conversation cracked me up. Fer tells her that the truth is that he is having big problems at work and that he is almost in bankruptcy. She wants to know why and he says the Chinese are flooding the market and doing it with low prices stealing business away from him. She wonders about that because she didn’t think that the Chinese dealt in the meat and food that he sells and she is trying to figure out how they would under cut him. He says for sure they deal in chickens, and they are importing them cheaper. He asks her if she would stay with him if he were in ruin and a simple employee. She makes a face and says that he will never be a simple employee and that he will find something else to do. In other words she didn’t answer the question he asked….

Moni asks Cl what she could do at Farell. She thinks she could work in the Commercial Area. She mentions she could work with certain people and sort of recalls that a young lady Paula works there and he reminds her of the name.

CL tells Moni he thinks very highly of Paula and Gaytan recommended her. He then tells her guess who she is the daughter of, Samuel Cachon and his former secretary and that she was illegitimate. Moni asks why there always has to be this kind of same story behind men. CL says ask me there’s no story, I am a white dove (innocent)! She says well, that’s a good thing, huh. He rolls his eyes as he takes a sip of his drink.

Perfan gets back and dinner is gone. Nid thinks it’s good because she won’t ruin her diet then.

Juan and Fer are walking outside. Fer says he’s screwing up things with the woman of his dreams. Juan says if it weren’t for him, he would never have met her. He has some kind of plan with respect to Yadi for Fer, and he said that it might take care of things with Marely too if he plans it correctly. Fer ends up thanking him for presenting him to the woman of his dreams.

Marely greets Juan. She asks him if he or Fer finally told Yadi the truth. He’s says no not really. She’s on her way to Farell to talk to Gaytan and he says he’ll take her. He shows up to Ana’s house to pick her up and goes in because he’s been waiting for her a little longer than normal, but Ana tells him she’s not there.

Perfan shows up at Farell and sees Paula. He says he wants to discuss the offer that they made her. He thinks she should take it as soon as possible. She tells him she doesn’t care what they think and that they are wasting their time. Paula wants to know why there is so much interest in them leaving the country? She wants to know what they are hiding.

Juan makes Ana something like a tea and says that she’ll feel better. She’s embarrassed, but he says don’t worry tell me what’s wrong. She tells him everything that happened except that she can’t tell him why she told Paula to leave because it’s private and between women. He suggests calling the office. He says that they will find out how the iguana chews. He promises to bring Paula back to the house, and says he has his crafts and he can get her to come back despite her pride.

Perfan is still discussing this with Paula. She says she’s not leaving the country because of Nidia’s whim. He says even though it’s a whim he is here to remind her that Nidia is ready to pay her a high price for it. Pau says that she thinks she is going to start her own investigation into all of this to find out what's really behind the great interest in them being gone. He tries to convince her that's not necessary. She gets angry and she kicks him out.

Marely gets off the elevator and sees him as he's leaving and accuses him of bugging Paula again.

Marely goes in to see Paula. She tells her she can’t accept the job. Paula wants to know why. She tells her that it’s because it’s not what she wants to do. Paula doesn’t believe her, asks her if it has to do with Pastor, and then her. She says no, she just thought about it. Paula pushes her and she finally admits that she made a deal with her Mom that she wouldn’t take it in exchange for her leaving them alone about the house.

CL and Moni talk in the car and she wonders again if something is wrong with him. He of course denies it.

Paula tells her to take the job she needs it and that she shouldn’t put herself in the middle of a problem that doesn’t involve her and that Paula can defend herself against Nid, she’s defended against worse. Then we see that Marely decides to stay and Paula has given her work telling her that everyone’s first day seems hard and that she can have the freedom to decide how she needs to do things and she can resolve things on her own if she wants and can save certain things for Paula to deal with as she sees fit.

Paula shoves Ivonne in the elevator and berates her for meddling telling her that she knows she is calling her mom. Of course Ivonne denies it. Paula roughs her up quite a bit and tells her she better cut it out or she is going to be in big trouble.

Paula comes down to the parking garage and says hello to Juan and he asks her where they are off to. She says his house. He looks at her impactado!
