Destilando Amor, 11/2/07: "Busted!"

Rod and Sofia leave for the restaurant. Dani hugs her sister and tells her when she finds them to slap Isa a couple times for her, too.
=========

At the restaurant Frankie listens while Isa tells him that things got complicated and now that Twerpy Tejeiros returned the checks she'd tried to bribe him with, certainly Dani has gotten to him and got the truth about Ricky from him. Franky takes one look inside at the checks and can't believe the doctor's stupidity at turning down such a huge pile of green. Isa races on about how she tried to call the doctor, but Paulino refused her call and then sent the checks back by messenger, and that she's certain Rod's got something up his sleeve because first Rod forbids her to take the baby on vacation and then strangely calls her to get him a ticket so the three of them can go to the beach together.

So now, she says, without taking a breath, she's been thinking on the way over that her list of divorce demands should reach Rod and while he's reading through them and signing, Frankie and she will exchange their tickets and high-tail it to a different location with the baby. She'll return a couple days later to settle the divorce, but in the meantime Rod won't be able to get anywhere near the baby to get anything to use for a DNA test. If a test is made that'll destroy all their plans, her child's inheritance and her half of the money she hopes to abscond with.

Frankie thinks it might be better if she returns to the apartment to avoid suspicion and keep Rod calm. Then a while later on, perhaps, leave after he and Sofia have had a chance to discuss the terms of their separation. He reminds her that was the only reason he married Sofia to begin with. Isa tells him to forget it. He's a fool to think he'd get much of anything from the Montalvo's in a settlement. She's been there, done that and got the tee-shirt, and even had to throw that back.

Anyway, Frankie should understand she cannot wait any longer to live a "normal life" with her child and its father. He's got to come with her now! But, our boy is still of the material world and it's not so easy for our material boy to part with all that finery. The petty peacock's thoughts can't seem to make it past packing up the silk shirts and Panama Jack duds. Isa tells him to forget all that. She'll buy him everything he needs. That does the trick for Frankie. (Going, going. Gone!! To the highest bidder. WhatamIbidwhatamIbid..... )
=================

At Pilar's, Fedra, Bruno and she are talking over Aaron's offer to buy out his dad's part of the business. Bruno sees it as just a way for Aaron to get hold of his inheritance before Bruno dies. He and Pilar agree that Aaron plays way too fast and furious with the corporation's and the family's funds in his business dealings to be allowed to take ownership of it all this way. He'd likely make a wrong move and they'd all stand to lose.

Fedra plays the "You always loved Rodrigo better" card here. She accuses them of not trusting her son's intelligence and denying him the opportunity to create an even bigger empire. Bruno mulls this over and Pilar leaves the final decision to him.
=========

Back at the restaurant, money no longer being an issue, Frankie, that silver tongued-snake, unconsciously reverts to type and goes into his glib routine. Interspersed with all the trite little French endearments he tells Isa exactly what she needs to hear: lots of poppy-cock papi talk that soon little Ricky will be calling him "Daddy". He kisses her on the lips to seal the deal and at that moment Rod and Sofia arrive at the entrance to the dining room.
Sofia starts looking around for them from across the room. She spies them in flagrant lip-lock delicto and she and Rod start for the table. "--Buenas noches! What a coincidence!"

Frankie looks up with a classic look of "Ohmygoditsrod!" impactado frozen on his rat-face, but always one for "negotiation", coolly asks Rod and Sofia to join them for a drink. Rod is only knocked on his proverbial heels for a second or two and, staring over at the two gold-diggers, sardonically asks Sofia who will be paying the tab tonight, Sofia or himself? Sofia chooses Isa instead and Rod answers that's appropriate enough since from here on out Isa will be paying all her own expenses. "Brought all those credit cards of yours with you that I've been keeping up to date, Isa?" He says he figures with all those huge transfers of cash he's covered and all the jewels she's bought but never once worn, she should be good for it.

The waiter appears and Rod orders champagne to celebrate, but then quips to Frankie about maybe seeing if they have a '66 Bordeaux instead, obviously referring to Amador's missing bottle of red wine from a few months ago. The waiter goes for the champagne and Rod sits down and starts in right away. To Frankie: "Better save your money and let her pay tonight. You'll have plenty of opportunity to spend it later."
Sofia suggests then to Isa that when she and Frankie travel together to make sure it's always in first class since he cannot stand tourist.

Isa snaps back assuring her soon-to-be ex that she'll be taking Ricky with her when she goes, but Rod says he refuses to let him go. There's a fight over who'll get legal custody and she spits back that he knows the kid isn't his and so no way is he keeping him. Rod tells her he's legally Ricky's father, at least until the biological father gets the nerve to show his face and take responsibility. Isa loses it and screams what a fool since he's sitting in front of him now! Hoh-boy!

Rod and Sofia are now wearing a couple of major league impactado stares worthy of a 4-way split screen, including a classic of Frankie looking like a deer caught in the headlights, shaking in his Bruno Magli's and wondering what Rod's next move is while he's counting the number of steps to the exit and the time it will take to hit it.
=========

Back at the manse across town, Pilar tells Dani that Avellaneda is promoting Mariana Franco and that she'll be joining Dr. Santoveñia, the new CRT Delegate, in London as the new Director of Public Relations there. She says she's already told Fedra and that both Minnie and Isa as well will just have to get used to the idea and forget the woman already. After hearing this news Dani tells her grammy what she, Sofia and Rod have discovered about Isa and Frankie being lovers.
======

Frankie scoots out of his chair just as Rod lunges and grabs for him and tells Isa that this is not a good time for such a bad joke. Rod's not going for it and growls at Frankie to sit back down. Isa tries to stomp away then, but Sofia grabs her and says, "Not before answering a few questions, like 'Where is your crook of a father hiding?'" Isa snaps back something about having already told her brother shouldn't he have settled with her father himself.

The champagne is brought and Rod slops it into the glasses, takes off his wedding band and throws it in Isa's glass. He then offers a toast to the three years of hell that he had to live through with her while she cheated on him. Isa toasts the same three years of hell she has lived through with him having to beg the entire time for even a little affection while the whole time he was pining away for Gaviota and so, justifying Ricky not being his because he never wanted his own wife sexually.

Finally, Isa says what has to be said. "You married me out of spite, to forget a woman you could never forget! I did love you, Rodrigo!" He guffaws at this. "--Don't you laugh! I tried everything to awaken love in you, but you were cold and deceitful. You betrayed me, you betrayed your family and you betrayed mine. You deceived me because when I agreed to marry you, you told me there was no other woman in your life. So, don't talk to me about moral principles, because you never had any!"

Rod is not exactly a happy camper having to listen to his own litany of faults, but he lets her continue. "If I didn't have a son of yours it was because you never once condescended to touch me and you never desired me sexually. (Isa may have done him wrong, but she did it for all the right reasons.) So, no wonder that I'm leaving you --and you do not have the right to the only thing I have which is mine!"

Rod answers her. "Don't play the victim with me. You knew the rules of our marriage. The only thing that I regret is my having let myself get snared by your lies, your blackmail schemes and those of my family's and not separating from you in order to fight for the love of my life! (Aw, heck! A pox on both your houses, you rich, conceited, privileged, spoiled, and good-for-nothing losers!) Three long years with you and my life was destroyed during those thre-e-e, lo-o-o-ong years."

Frankie is definitely uncomfortable with the ruckus Rod and Sofia are causing in the restaurant, and he is nothing if not all about appearances, the male ditz. "You don't need to cause a scandal in public over this. Sure we may have been incorrect, but--" Rod thinks the guy is a bit removed from reality here. "In-correct?? Hah! What you two did was filthy and disgusting!" To Isa: "Don't you have any shame? Don't you even feel the least bit guilty at using a child for economic advantage with me? --So then, what amount do you value him at, huh? We should sit and chat about that perhaps."

Frankie actually looks as if this might be an idea to pursue, but gets up and says he and Sofia should go back to Pilar's to discuss their own situation. Sofia lets him give her a hand up from the table but then suddenly lets off with a couple of large, loud and unexpected wallops across the lounge-lizard's face. "You shameless coward! Sit. Back. Down!!" He does.

Rod asks Isa why, with all the multitudes of men in the world she had to get involved with Sofia's husband, and Sofia asks both of them just how many others there were. (Best to just leave that as a rhetorical question for now, Sofia. Rod's had enough revelations for one day. He and Minnie can tackle that one together some other day.) Frankie hits back with a muy lame, "We have our complaints with you, too!"

Sofia stares at him with murder in her eyes and screams back at him, "You shameless cad! After all the clothes, the jacuzzi, and the cars I bought you!" (--Not to mention the ironing, the grocery shopping and all that slaving over a hot stove every day making gourmet meals to please his delicate and demanding palate.) "You are never ever going to set foot again in either my house or my ranch!"

Rod tells Isa the same thing. She defies him and tells him that she will go back for Ricky and will be taking him with her even though she might have to call the police on him to do it. "Or, what? Are you perhaps thinking to keep the boy in order to force my father to pay off what he owes you?" Rod sneers, "Ricardo's going back to prison sooner or later, anyway." So Isa gloats that her daddy will be going to leave him holding the financial bag and says she couldn't be happier, since it's nothing compared to what she lost while living with him all this time.

Isa finally gets up to make her dramatic exit but not before Sofia throws her drink in her face. Rod gets up and tells her never to darken his door again, and by all means to show some shred of decency by avoiding exposing Ricky to her lovers and leaving his son in peace. She sniffs and turns to leave but Sofia turns around and cold cocks her and Isa drops to the floor with a bloody lip. ("Ay Dios Mio! Catfight!! CAAATFIIIIGHT!!!") Yep, in the words of Alice Cooper, 'Eyes clash and claws slash and green eyed fur goes flyin'!' Isa tries to get away but Sofia grabs her by the hair and slaps her. While Isa is still staring at those stars circling around her head Sofia lays in with a couple of well-placed left hooks/crosses.

Isa gets up off the floor and rushes out. Frankie tries to enlist the crowd to get them some help, "What's this? Two women fighting?" Rod says to him, "Right, women shouldn't fight, but a couple of men, sure!" He lets Frankie have it and slams him into the wall head first; then gives the dazed little jerk a couple of punches in the eye. Frankie crawls under the tables and tries to slither away while Rod jumps up on the table and screams for him to crawl out from under there. Frankie does and while he lays dazed on the floor, Rod takes the food, dishes, and plates off the table and throws them at him, then Rod kicks Frankie a couple times before the waiters finally break it up and pull him off the beady eyed little slug.

Rod offers to pay for the damages as money well spent and then calls Belisario to make sure he stops Isa from entering the building. Next he calls Enrequeta to keep Isa out of the apartment or from taking the baby and any of her things. He tells her to pack Ricky's things and head right away for Pilar's and if she runs into Isa under no circumstances is she to hand the baby over to his wife.

Frankie manages to run out and catches up with Isa while she's waiting for her car. He suggests that Isa should wait for Rod to calm down and then negotiate with him so he'd be more likely to hand over the baby without a hassle, but Isa decides to go for the baby immediately. Frustrated, he asks her why she doesn't just leave the kid with Rod since they won't have the money they were counting on now. Motherly instinct kicks in and Isa tells him if he doesn't like the idea he can just leave now. She doesn't need him. Besides, her jewels and cash are still up in the apartment and she has her father to help her also.

While Frankie's processing this the valet drives up in the new Beemer and he starts seeing $ signs again. Instinctively, in one smooth move he stiffs the valet, takes the wheel and offers to drive her himself over to the apartment.
============

In her apartment that night Gavi asks Clarita to help her make her decision about London. She comments that Rod will probably never leave Isa, but if he does, he already has his pretty, young psychologist as a replacement for her.

Meanwhile, Erika starts looking through the magazine article about Amador and the tribute given the other night at the CRT. Erika is shocked to see Mariana Franco in the magazine article and realizes that Mariana Franco and Rod's Gaviota are the same person. She remembers her as the patient Beni introduced her to a few years back who told her about her problem with "Rodrigo". Dr. Frosty Locks wonders why she didn't realize it before now, but this seems unlikely to keep her from selfishly still wanting him all for herself .

At the same time Gavi tells her mom that if Rod's psychologist turns out to be even half as pretty and nice as Erika Robledo was, then she might as well be Swiss cheese (literally, the curly tail on a pig's hind end) cause she simply can't compete. Then Gavi says she doesn't really want to live in London because the place has nothing but the blackest memories for her.
=============

Rod and Sofia return to Pilar's and find that Enriqueta has not shown up yet with Ricky. He calls the apartment and Enriqueta reports that Isa is down in the hotel lobby with the police threatening to come up and take the baby away. Rod drives over there and confronts Isadora in the apartment. He tells her that as long as that baby carries his last name he is the legal father and stays with him! The police enter in then and tell them they need to call their lawyers to settle custody from the police station, and in the meantime if they cannot come to a temporary agreement he'll have to put the baby in a children's home until a judge makes a determination.

Rod, exasperated, finally gives in because he cannot bear the thought of the baby spending even one night alone separated from the security of his parents. He lets Isa take the baby with her.
==========

Back in Gavi's living room, Clarita suggests they can always go back to Los Mirasoles (The Sunflowers) and work it. Gavi mentions that Aaron Montalvo was interested in getting it back from her if they don't really want it, but she's not about to let him swindle them out of it through some shady underhanded deal. Clarita thinks this over and says she'd love to work it, but not if they have to continue fighting those people. Perhaps it would be better to just give it away. Gavi already has more than enough to live comfortably on with her position at the CRT. However, Clarita warns her to think long and hard about taking the job in London, because if Gavi decides to join Dr. Santoveñia there it will seem she's giving him the green light in their relationship.
===========

Dani and Sofia tell Pilar that Ricky really isn't Rod's child. Pilar cries for the shame of it all. Isa comes out of the apartment carrying Ricky, followed by the two policemen who carry out her two small bags. Tearfully she takes a last look around as she realizes what she's lost and clings to the baby. (Well, hell she's got her friggin' jewelry and her stash of cash out of the safe now, so who gives a rat's behind besides her and the stupid writers?) Even the new doorman cannot look her in the eyes.
========

Dani and Sofia begin to wonder where Rod is since he should have been home by now. Sofia thinks he'd be on his way to Gaviota's. Dani calls Erika first and explains the situation. He's not there, though. So then she calls Gavi but doesn't go into any detail. Gavi gets upset about this and asks if he'd planned to come by or something. All Dani will say is that he finally left Isa for good and that they are worried because it was pretty bad and they have no idea where he's gone. Gavi starts to ask for more detail then but Dani seems a bit uncomfortable and says she needs to keep the line free and hangs up. Gavi doesn't know what to think.

Rod drives and all the evening's events are rolling around in his head. It's Erika he's chosen to see. When Erika opens the door, she is relieved to see him and tells him how worried they've all been. He is a nervous wreck and sobs repeatedly that Isa's taken away his son. Erika hugs him tightly and he hugs back, just as tightly.

Vocabulary - Dichos, refranes, idioms, etc. 11/03

Here are some fun and interesting phrases that have popped up in our telenovelas over the past few months. They are mostly new but there might be one or two repeats. A huge shout out to Maricruz for holding our hands through many of these translations, and to Judy B. and other beloved commenters for your input and assist with the vocabulary.

He is using the word "chinches" in stead of the offensive word "chin", like somebody would use shoot in stead of sh*t, (you know what I mean). The word “chin” is not that offensive per say, but depending on how you use it could mean f***. For example the worst offense that somebody could tell you is "Ve a c***gar a tu madre" [I'm blushing here] you get the idea. No wonder Juan changed it to chinches bravas.')

como agua para chocolate = hopping mad, fizzing, about to explode (Lit. like water to chocolate, referring to [I think] if you put water in a pot of melted chocolate it will fizzle and make the entire pot of chocolate seize up into an unmovable mess)

Amar Thursday Nov 1 - ding dong the witch is dead

Quickie recap for Thursday's episode, full recap for Friday coming later -

With Diego taken by Mo's security, Azul doesn't have any outside excuse to not sign the register and she and Mo are married. She could always just stand up for herself and not do it, but she is more of a 'my problems are the only important problems and it's everyone else's responsibility to fix them.' Over the course of the episode she cries a lot and finally decides that she'll try to love Mo again.

Diego is taken to Mo's original house, the guys are going to do I don't know what with him. These guys already threw Eva into the lab so she'll die when the bomb goes off. Ivan tries to save her but gets shot in the gut for his efforts. The bomb goes off with Eva trapped inside. As Diego is being brought in, Ivan rises up with his bloody belly and Diego gets away in the confusion. The bomb goes off, Diego somehow gets loose of his handcuffs, then he finds Eva in the wreckage, they sit and have a long conversation about stupid crap before she finally dies. Diego carries her outside, Ivan cries about it. Diego and Ivan try to walk for help, at some point Ivan sits down and dies.

Gaspar, Chucho, and Efrain stand around wringing their hands a lot since they didn't do anything to help Diego.

Piero and his not wife argue, then make up and go back into the wedding party.

Ines and Emilia have a bitchy conversation where Ines says she isn't trying to get GSD back, but then later when she sees GSD and Emilia kissing, she freaks out so she obviously IS trying to get him back. Why either of these women like him at all is beyond me.

Ok that's all I remember today from the episode, please fill in anything I missed.

La Fea Más Bella #51-53 Missing Recaps 33-35, by Kim P.

Happy/sad news, y'all... just two more installments to go after this one, and then we're truly done.

Missing Recap 33: The Fly/Honey Diet
Lety once again tells Fern his company's in good hands. He touches her face again and he moves in for a kiss again. Suddenly they start dancing a tango-like dance while they discuss the company; yep it's time once again for Fantasy Island Lety-Style. She tells Fern she supports him unconditionally and he tells her his love is as big as the sea. The real Fernando has to ruin it all by snapping his fingers to wake her up wanting to know que the hell is she doing?!

Marta is sadly eating her pathetic little lunch when Fern walks by and, surprised by how small it is, asks her what she's eating. She tells him while he asks about what she usually eats. He then notices how skinny she is and compliments her. But, like so many other characters on this show, suddenly his evil twin takes control of his body and he begins to berate her for eating at her desk. He takes her dish and pours the food into his mouth and walks off, leaving Marta in an emotional downward spiral.

The cuartel are chatting in the bathroom (what a surprise, huh?) and Marta joins them. They're talking about their huge lunch and Juana says she doesn't feel well and we're treated to yet another Pepto Bismol commercial, this time it's Sara with the bottle handily in her locker, extolling its virtues. Commercial over, Marta asks them to stop talking about their fab lunch because hers was tiny and Fern ate it all. They go back to work (hee hee, I love saying that when y'all just KNOW it's not true! These guys wouldn't know real work if it actually bit them in the butt!).

Saimon comes dancing off the elevator and showers the cuartel with compliments and mail. Jaz walks up, calling Saimon's name, and his drool spigot starts running. He stops what he's doing and goes to talk to her while Lola does her usual, now-boring freak-out thing. Jazmin wants to know if Saimon's talked to Fern yet, which he hasn't. She pouts. She pushes him to please talk to Fern, and then complains about the cuartel. He calms her down and flirts more. She relents and flirts back and he leaves happy. He dances back into the lobby and continues with the mail. Lola gives him hell, telling him not to talk to Luigi about Jazmin. Personally, I'm wishing someone would tell this woman the old saw about getting more flies with honey than with vinegar. Oh well, I guess this is where she's supposed to "grow" by the end of the show. During this whole conversation, Alicia comes in off the elevator.

Efren comes into reception and PM sends him upstairs. He looks worried about what Lola will do. He gets on the elevator, crosses himself, and prays. The feas tell Lola to try to talk to Efren calmly instead of getting her usual freak on. I guess they listened to me and gave her the flies/honey/vinegar speech. When he gets off the elevator in the lobby, Alicia laughs at him and Saimon growls at him. Lola chugs a mental margarita and is calm while the cuartel chant mantras in the background. He says hi to everyone and is surprised by Lola's calmness. Jaz walks in and he begs her to stay back, not wanting to start anything. He gives Lola a check, explaining that it's short (no wonder he crossed himself). She tells him it's ok and he can give her the balance later. He's happily impactado and makes his escape while he can, barely speaking to Jazmin. She looks at the cuartel, gets scared, and runs off. Naturally, once they're both gone Lola can't contain it any more and releases her inner Psycho B*tch Queen from Hell.

Saimon's back downstairs when Luigi comes in with the dancers. He asks to talk to Luigi, but Luigi says no and gets on the elevator. PM makes fun of Saimon.

The cuartel are all laughing (I told you they wouldn't be working) in the lobby when Fatima comes in looking for Fernando. Lola tells her Fern isn't there and she wants to know if he's with Marcia and Marta tells her Marcia's at her in-laws house (ok one, F & M aren't married yet... two, that's some personal info to just be handing out to any random visitor. Oh well, that's our fun-filled unprofessional cuartel). Fatima thanks them and leaves, and Lola comments that Fern's gonna be dead if Marcia finds out about her.

Back at the senior Mendiolas' nest, Teresita gives Marcia a gift and they chat about the wedding and other stuff. Humberto comes in and asks about the company and Marcia tells him everything's just peachy keen-a-reno. Humb's upset because he hasn't heard anything from Fernando and again Marcia placates him.

Fern and Lety are at the bank talking to the manager. He's concerned about how much debt Conceptos has built up and F and L are trying to calm him down. Lety shows him a presentation that I think is probably just bullshite and the banker agrees with me and continues to worry. He wants to know if Humberto is aware of all of this, and Fern tells him not to worry about Humberto because HE'S in charge of Conceptos now (poor Conceptos). They discuss the possibility of a scandal should the public find out about all the debt.

Back at Casa Mendiola, Marcia's trying to call Fernando but can't reach him. Teresita asks Marcia if she's worried about where he is and if she's jealous. Marcia denies the jealousy and says Fern's just with Lety so there's nothing to worry about, which makes Teresita laugh. Just then Ariel comes in with hugs and kisses for everyone. He wants to know where Fernando is while they all chat, then he breaks the news that Fernando's going to be presenting the Bella Life commercial tomorrow. The 'rents act shocked, which surprises me because I thought they knew that and it was, in fact, one of the reasons they flew out from London. But heck, what do I know?

Luigi is still working with the dancers, preparing for the B.L. Launch presentation. Jazmin is still dancing along in the wings. Luigi's happy with how it all looks and he lets the dancers all go home.

Fernando and Lety enter reception and Saimon runs up to them wanting to talk, while Jazmin and Fatima hover in the background. Fern tells him he has to get to his parents' house and can't chat and leaves. Jaz whines.

Fern and Lety discuss his parents and the bank. I think he asks her to give his parental units the same presentation she gave to the banker. Just then Fatima comes in and Fern asks Lety to go to her office. When she's gone (but you know she's got those big ears planted at the door listening), Fern asks Fatima what she wants, and she says "you". He mentions Marcia and she tells him she knows Marcia's not there in the office and she wants to spend the night with him again. He says he can't, he has to get to his parents' house. She flirts and insists and he's trying to resist. She climbs onto his desk and starts kissing him and what's a handsome young studmuffin to do? Meanwhile, Alicia is talking to Marcia on the phone, telling her about Fatima, and Marcia tells her to go in and find out what's going on. Marta overhears and tells Lola to call Lety and warn her, which she does. Lety goes out to Fernando's office and yells out his name loudly so they'll stop kissing. Lety and Fernando then start playing tug-of-war with Fatima across the desk. Alicia walks in and Fatima jumps off the desk and all try to act like nothing's happening. Fatima leaves and Alicia tells Fernando that Marcia's waiting for him at his parents' house. He tries to give her some bull explanation but she just cuts him off and says he doesn't have to explain anything to her, Marcia's the one he has to worry about. She leaves as Omar comes in asking how things went at the bank. Fern tells him as Lety goes back to her office. Fern tells him about his close call just now with Fatima, and Omar warns him that she was involved with a married man once and created so much trouble with his family and his work that he got fired.

Saimon once again hits Luigi up, saying he knows a great dancer and starts extolling all her virtues like she's Pepto Bismol or something. Luigi, who knows but asks anyway, wants to know who Saimon's talking about and of course he says Jazmin. There's a lot of chat about it, but ultimately Luigi says uh uh, nope, no way no how, nyet, etc. He tells him Jazmin's a crappy dancer, and of course she comes walking up just in time to hear that. Luigi also mentions the Lola/Cheque thing and I'm shocked because it sounds like he's actually supporting Lola. See, like I said, more flies with honey... if she'd have just ASKED Luigi not to use Jaz instead of ORDERING him... Anyway, Luigi leaves and Jazmin runs off crying with Saimon following.

Fern, Lety and Omar are again rehashing finances. Lety gives Omar more grief about the contraband and how much money they lost on that and Fern tells her to calm down. Meanwhile, to save space I won't start a new line, Jazmin is crying and Saimon is trying to calm her down. Everyone's tossing "calmate"s and "tranquila"s all over the place in Conceptos these days. Meanwhile, back at the office, Lety goes back to her office, then leaves. Omar continues to lay seeds of doubt in Fern's mind about Lety, saying it's going to take a year or more to pay off all their debts, and therefore Fern isn't going to reach his stated goals and will lose the presidency, and if that happens Lety will be the true owner of Conceptos.

Meanwhile, Lety's chatting with the cuartel down in reception and I couldn't care less and fast forward.

At Marta's house, Paco gives his daughter a watch and she's happy and leaves the room. Marta gets home and he asks her about the car. She acts all sexy and tells him she's not fat any more and does he like it? He says yes, but where's the car? She tells him she spent the money on herself, on liposuction, and he's very upset. They go back and forth about it; she thought he'd be happy she was pretty, he wanting her to have a car. She shows him a really skimpy negligee she wants to wear for him and he just cries and blows his nose into it.

Now to Casa Padilla, Lety and Tomas talk about the new loan. It's just rehash, nothing new here. They also put themselves down about their feo-ness. Lety locks away the papers as there's more rehash and fea talk, as well as more discussion about Alicia and her baby.

Fern finally gets with his family and greets everyone. There's a lot of back and forth with Ariel about the meeting and Humberto wanting to know how the company's doing and Mom not wanting to talk about it now. It all boils down to Humberto and Ariel wanting a full-on board meeting or shareholder meeting and Fernando wanting to keep it just the small group. Mumsy actually sides with her baby boy on this one and Humb and Ariel back down.

Meanwhile, Lety's talking mushy stuff with her mom, complaining about all the responsibilities she has at work. Mom bucks her up because after all, that's what moms are for (are you listening Teresita?).

Next day Alicia is at the lab for her blood tests. She's very nervous and we learn she doesn't care for needles at all. Meanwhile Marta is crying to the cuartel, including Lety, about Paco's reaction about the car (or lack thereof). Fern comes in and takes Lety with him to his office and tells her about having to have a meeting. He's upset and she tries to calm him down. He asks her to create a financial report that lists their expenses, but also shows the income from the Bella Life campaign. Lety reminds Fern that they haven't yet received any income from B.L., but Fern says that it's necessary for them to make up the numbers. Lety's so impactada by this comment that she forgets to come to attention at the word "necessary".

Missing Recap 34: Lunch Break
Alicia's getting stuck again, Marta's crying again, and Fernando and Lety chat again. Fern asks her to call Carolina, then goes out looking for Alicia. He eats more of Marta's scant food and starts to ask them to set up lunch, but just then Alicia comes of the elevator, really drama-queening up the sore arm thing. Fern gives her hell for being late and she tells him it's because she had to go in for blood tests for work. Fern tells her to set up lunch in the conference room for the meeting. She claims she can't, using her arm and the baby as an excuse, so Fernando tells Marta to do it. Natch, this makes Alicia want to go ahead and do it, the cuartel all laugh and he tells them all to get to work. When's he gonna learn that telling them that doesn't work and he just needs to fire their lazy butts???

Marta calls the lab pretending to be Alicia and asks them to include a pregnancy test, and tells them to send the results to her (Marta).

Back at home, the embargo lawyer calls F.I. and asks for Tomas. He isn't there and mom pretends to be his secretary and takes a message. Tomas comes in and shows mom and pop his new cell phone, posing with it and stuff. Mom laughs at his cute silliness while pop calls him an idiot. We get a shot of Fernando and Lety rehashing in the office, then we're back to Padilla Central where Robopop and Tomas are working. Pop asks about F.I. and Conceptos and the bank and Tomas gets nervous and tells him to ask Lety about it. Lawyer Sanchez calls back and tells Tomas that he and the appraiser are ready to go to Conceptos. Tomas tries to talk them out of it but Sanchez says they have to do it, it's part of the process. He tells Tomas he'll meet him there and hangs up and Tomas goes upstairs to Lety's room for some privacy to call Lety.

Lety brings some papers to Fernando and then leaves with them, and while she's gone Fern answers her phone. It's Tomas, but Fern says Lety's busy and hangs up on him. Pop comes in and sees Tomas on Lety's bed and gives him crap, but Tomas tells him he's meditating. Erasmo asks why he's so nervous and Tomas gives him some lame excuse, and Erasmo boots him out of Lety's room.

Saimon's entertaining the cuartel out in the lobby, and I skip it. Lety goes back to the office while Fernando and Omar are rehashing about the upcoming meeting and their finances. Lety prepares stuff for the meeting and puts it in the conference room while Fern shows a copy of it to Omar. Meanwhile, Marcia's out front with Teresita and Humberto. They go into Conceptos just as the lawyer and appraiser show up in a taxi looking for Tomas. The 'rents go into reception and greet PM, and Carolina comes in and greets everyone as well.

Omar thinks the papers look good. Lety's phone rings again and Fernando complains about it. He goes and answers it again, and once again it's Tomas trying to get hold of Lety. Fern tells him she's busy and to call back, but Tomas tells him it's important. Fern starts giving him hell for bugging Lety at work, but Lety comes in just in time and takes the phone from Fernando. Tomas tells her that Sanchez and the appraiser are going to be there at any moment to do the inventory and she tells him this is a really bad time because of the meeting. He explains that he had no choice and she hangs up and leaves her office. She tells Fernando what's going on and he freaks out. He and Omar start to give her hell about it, but she explains that it's not her fault.

Everyone's still chatting downstairs in reception. Humberto's still worried about the fallout from the Benny Ibarra video (like I said to Ariel, let it go dude!) but Marcia and Carolina tell him the current commercial's coming along really well. Someone mentions that they're just waiting for Ariel to show up, when of course outside Sanchez and the appraiser drive by in their taxi and almost run him over. Ariel joins everyone in reception and Carolina tells them all that the Bella Life commercial is fabulous. Ariel says something rude to her about sex and everyone gives him hell about it. Celso comes in trying to keep Sanchez and partner out and Marcia wants to know what's going on.

Just then Fernando and Lety show up in the elevator. Fernando herds his family into the elevator saying it's nothing and sends them off upstairs. He then sends PM on an errand to get rid of her, then he and Lety chat with Sanchez and the appraiser. Sanchez explains why he's there, that as part of the process they have to make sure Conceptos has enough assets to cover the debt. Fernando tells them to do what they have to do, but to PLEASE be discreet about it. They agree to be discreet and he asks Lety to take care of them. Sanchez asks Lety why she's working at Conceptos, he thought she was in charge of Filmo Imagen, she just answers that it's a long story and leads them off.

Up in the executive lobby, Teresita and Humberto are congratulating Marta on how good she looks. Fernando shows up and herds everyone into the conference room, telling Omar in an aside about the lawyers being there. Meanwhile, Lety's showing them around, reiterating that they have to be discreet because the company can't have a scandal. They again agree to be discreet and she lets them look around downstairs while she leaves.

The meeting starts and everyone goes over the papers Lety prepared. Humberto asks about the men downstairs and Fernando gives him some kind of excuse. Ariel gives Fernando the usual crap and mentions the information he saw on the internet. Fern tells him it's false or incorrect information and Humberto and Teresita get mad at Ariel for always looking for trouble.

Downstairs, Sanchez and the other guy are still looking around. Celso and PM are talking about it, wondering what's going on. Lety overhears them and tells them to stop gossiping, that it's Fernando's business, not theirs, and not to say anything to anyone about it. No Lety, nothing suspicious about that at all...

The cuartel are dragging Marta to lunch and I ignore most of the conversation. They want Lety to come too but she can't; they leave.

Ariel is still droning on and on when Lety comes in and explains all the paperwork. Outside in the lobby, Alicia is giving instructions to the wait staff. Luigi comes in with the dancers and she tells him about the meeting, but he tells her he can't go, he's got too much to do to get ready. In the meeting, Lety's still 'splainin' and Ariel is still giving crap. Humberto (finally!) cuts him off and says he's happy with what he heard.

Alicia enters the room to take everyone's food orders. She hands a menu to Ariel and says something to him about his son. He tries to shush her but goes to the door and brings him in, a little boy dressed in a suit like Ariel's. The kid jumps on him and calls him Papi. The real Alicia snaps him out of his daydream (or daymare actually). He yells at her for no reason and everyone gives him que the hell looks.

At La Comedilla, the cuartel's food gets waved under Marta's nose and they all talk about it. The waiter offers to bring her a salad, but she's not at all happy. More chat I ignore.

Back to the meeting, Alicia's still taking lunch orders. She tries to hand the menu to Omar but drops it. She comes around and hits him and tries to hand him a baby. He says he's in a meeting but she gives it to him anyway along with a bottle, and tells him to feed it. Everyone looks at him and he begs there pardon for interrupting but he has to feed his son. Fernando snaps him out of HIS daymare as he's holding a menu like a baby and singing to it. He tells Alicia what he wants to eat, as does everyone else. Luigi shows up and greets everyone and gives Alicia his lunch order.

Marta is staring at everyone else's plates while they eat. The others all yack at her about staying on her diet and keeping the weight off. The waiter tries to take Sara's plate and he and Marta fight over it. They go back to work, having to fight to drag Marta out of there.

Back to the meeting for more talk, with Carolina explaining how she's set everything up. Ariel spreads his usual sunshine and Marcia yells at him, telling him the commercial is important. Luigi tells them all about the Launch Party Production and offers to give an advance showing to everyone. Lety excuses herself, con permisso'ing every single person in the room.

Out in the lobby, the cuartel come in hatching their usual anti-Alicia schemes. Marta leaves to go to the bathroom. Luigi comes out and asks Irma to go with him, and thanks Alicia for the lunch.

Meanwhile, the lawyers are chatting in an empty office, it looks like the one the computer tech had before he got fired for messing with Lety's computer. Lety comes in and they tell her they have to take pictures of the company and its inventory. She twitches. They leave and she says to herself that they can't go into the studio and embarrass Don Fernando. She chases after them and catches them in the hall and refuses to let them pass, planting herself spread-eagle in front of the doorway to block them.

Missing Recap 35: Pimp My Boss
Lety's still blocking the door, telling the men they can't enter. They say fine, but they're just trying to do their jobs. She tells them they can look everywhere else but they can't go into the studio because there's an event going on in there. They tell her to calm down, they'll be discreet, and they move on.

In the studio, everyone's watching the commercial. It ends and they clap and sing Luigi's praises. Luigi gives a speech and Humberto's happy and Ariel isn't. Luigi refuses to allow them to argue in his studio and calls in the dancers to give them a preview of tomorrow's show. Omar and Fernando clap a little too enthusiastically for the dancers for Marcia's taste. The dancers do their thing and Fern and Omar notice that Fatima is one of them. She starts playing to Fernando right in front of everyone, blowing him kisses and everything. He acts like he doesn't know what's up with her but Marcia's still pissed. Omar reminds him of the scandal she caused. The show ends and everyone claps.

Down in reception Lety's trying to hurry the lawyers along, and they get on the elevator to go upstairs. Meanwhile everyone's still in the studio congratulating Luigi. Naturally Alicia's fanning Marcia's jealousy flame, telling her how Fatima had been in Fern's office. Marcia calls Fern over and starts in on him, but he just denies everything.

Everyone leaves as Lety comes in with the lawyers. She shows them the studio and they say they're impressed. She leaves them for a minute and they keep looking around. They wander into the dressing room where the dancers are changing and Luigi boots them out. Lety runs up and apologizes and drags them off. Just to prove that they actually are good for something, we get a gratuitous shot of the cuartel all on the phones doing various types of work to prepare for the big launch party. The lawyers watch them work.

Nighttime in reception, Marcia tells Humberto that she hopes he feels better now that he's seen everything for himself. Down comes Lety with the lawyer and appraiser. She gives Fernando their paperwork to sign while making some lame excuse for everyone who's there. Humberto, Teresita and Carolina leave. Marcia wants to leave as well, with Fernando, but he tells her he needs to talk to the two men, so she goes back upstairs alone. Fernando talks to them about how the inventory went and the appraiser tells him he'll get the information registered with the Public Minister while Sanchez congratulates Fern on how nice the company is. They leave as Fernando hands the paperwork to Lety and Omar says something totally innocuous like let's go. This causes Lety to lose it and she totally goes off on Omar. She's going after him physically while yelling about his crappy suggestion for which lawyers to use and how it's all his fault because of the contraband (naturally, totally forgetting just how much of the trouble was caused by Fernando paying in advance for the contraband, and for just plain starting the whole problem with has bad financial plan. However, this is her Tan Divino I'm talking about so of course she'll ignore all that). Fernando holds her back as she continues to try to get at Omar, and he tells her something along the lines of "don't make me call out my flying monkeys". Ok, he actually said Celso, not flying monkeys, but I had to toss in a little humor there and I just love that saying. Anyroad... eventually she calms down as Omar rings for the elevator, which gets there awfully fast considering Marcia just went up in it. He and Fernando back into it slowly while Lety acts like she'd still like to rip out Omar's throat and Fernando's reminding her that Conceptos is now in her hands (again??? How many times is this company "just now" in her hands??). They leave as she stares at the paperwork in her hands, then heads towards the stairs.

Alicia and Marcia are talking and Marcia walks away just as Omar and Fernando get out of the elevator. Just then Lety also exits the stairs and once again she goes after Omar and once again Fernando stops her. Alicia watches as Fernando makes Lety and Omar shake hands. They hear Luigi talking and go watch the dancers for a minute, then Fernando drags Omar out. Lety starts to dance, at first trying to imitate the dancers but degenerating into her usual spastic dance, and Fernando drags her out too. You can see Jazmin still dancing in the wings, ever hopeful. Fern and Omar begin to discuss how Marcia is jealous of Fatima when Saimon runs up and Lety leaves. Saimon asks Fern to help get Luigi to allow Jaz to dance but Fern tells him though he's the President, Luigi's the director and has total power on whom to hire and Fern can't help him.

It's late and the dancers are all tired and want to stop but Luigi wants to keep driving them. Saimon comes in and motions to Jazmin that he failed in getting Fernando's help. The choreographer asks if they can stop for the night while Jazmin leaves, crying. Luigi lets everyone go after a short speech. Fatima tells one of the other dancers that she's going to nail Fernando.

Speaking of, he and Omar are in his office discussing the embargo. Omar is trying to cheer him up but Fernando says his conscience is bothering him for lying to his dad and the committee. Omar makes fun of Lety but Fernando doesn't like it, so after a couple more cheering-up efforts by Omar, he leaves. Fernando calls Lety in and tells her to either go get Fatima or keep Fatima away, but in walks the devil herself horny as hell and ready to go. She flirts with Fernando and Lety tries to drag her out of the office, but Fatima pulls a fast one and it's Lety that gets locked out. She starts chasing Fernando around his desk and the rest of the office, he's climbing over the sofas and stuff trying to get away from her. She won't be dissuaded, though. He's mentioning Marcia but she doesn't care.

Meanwhile, Marcia and Alicia come walking up to Fernando's door and ask Lety if Fern's in his office. She tells them he's in Luigi's office and they leave. Though he's still protesting, you can tell Fernando's starting to give in. Lety knocks and yells but Fatima won't let him answer. As with all the men on this show, once she starts kissing him, his johnson takes control and he's ready to throw caution to the wind.

In Luigi's office, he's telling Marcia Fernando isn't there and never was. Marcia wants to know where Fatima is and Luigi tells her he doesn't know that either. So we don't ever forget who the sponsors are, boxes of Garnier Nutrisse are prominently displayed all over his desk.

Lety's still trying to get into Fern's office and sees Marcia coming. She finally grows a brain cell as it occurs to her to duck into the conference room to get to his office through that door. Fernando's still protesting yet kissing Fatima. Marcia tries to get in and finds the door locked, while Lety runs in and drags Fatima to her office. She shoves her under her desk as Fernando lets Marcia in, saying he has no idea why the door was locked. Marcia's sniffing around like a bloodhound on a prisoner's trail and interrogating Fernando about Fatima's behavior. While Lety listens in, Fern's denying everything claiming that Fatima molested HIM. Fatima keeps pushing Lety's chair away (with Lety in it), making a lot of noise. Lety kicks her and tells her to be quiet, and you know the jealous little thing just LOVED being able to get that kick in! Marcia asks Fernando if he thinks she's an idiot and he says fine, whatever, look around if you want, you won't find anything. Fatima's still making noise while Marcia suspiciously looks in the conference room and in Fernando's armoire. She goes into Lety's office and looks around there suspiciously. Fern's in his office praying that Lety will save him. He looks in and Lety indicates to him that Fatima is under her desk. Marcia leaves, still suspicious but unable to prove anything, and Fernando pulls Fatima out from under Lety's desk and yells at her for causing trouble. She tells him she didn't mean to but Fernando grabs her arm and takes her out of Lety's office.

Marcia is in the lobby telling Alicia what happened and she's convinced something shady was going on. They walk away as Lety peers out the conference room door. She see's that it's all clear and hustles Fatima out. Unfortunately, Alicia is walking back and, though she doesn't actually see Fatima exit the conference room, she's close enough to the door that Alicia knows that's where she came from.

Lety goes back and tells Fernando "mission accomplished" and he thanks her, then she leaves to go to the studio. Meanwhile Alicia tells Marcia what she saw and that Lety must have hidden Fatima. Marcia catches up to Fatima and demands to know where she was but Fatima just blows her off. Marcia is super incredibly pissed at Lety for hiding her and Alicia, as always, just fans those flames higher and higher.

Fernando is worrying about where Lety is when Marcia comes in, sarcastically clapping at his ability to hide a girl. Lety walks in and overhears her complaining about Lety helping him. She turns and sees Lety standing there and starts giving her hell, practically calling her Fern's pimp. Fern tells her to leave Lety alone and Lety defends herself saying she was just doing her job (I guess pimping for her boss falls under "other duties as required"). Marcia leaves and Fernando tells Lety not to worry.

Marcia goes to Luigi and demands that he fire Fatima, but Luigi says he can't do that the day before the show, he doesn't have anyone to replace her with. They go to leave and Fatima gives Marcia a nasty, smug look. Omar comes up and asks what's going on and Marcia tells him and gets all in his face as well. Omar goes into Fernando's office and asks Fernando what happened and Fern tells him, mentioning that Marcia treated Lety really badly.

Tomas calls Lety and Fern and Omar listen to her conversation and they wonder about Tomas and Omar says they need to find out more about him. Lety talks to her parents, more "when ya comin' home" questions and Tomas invites himself to dinner. Fernando tells Omar that he trusts Lety and Omar reminds him that Lety is poor and was once tempted to accept a bribe. There's more back and forth on this, she's shifty, no I trust her, blah blah blah, and in the end Omar tells Fernando to be careful that Tomas doesn't have too much influence on her. Marcia comes in and says she's leaving and gives Fernando just a tad more crap before going. Omar says they should get rid of Fatima but Fern tells him they can't, they couldn't get someone new in time.

Jazmin is dancing for Saimon in reception while PM watches and gets jealous. Marcia comes out and startles them, then leaves. Jaz continues dancing, and it's true that she's terrible. She whines about not getting her chance and thanks Saimon for believing in her (which is sad, 'cause I think the only thing Saimon actually believes in is her boobs). They almost kiss but she just busses him on the chin instead and leaves. PM's pissed and reminds him that she's with El Cheque, but Saimon says he doesn't care, she hasn't rejected him so he can still dream.

Lety brings some stuff out to Fernando and tries to leave, but Fern and Omar say they need to talk to her. Omar gives her his chair while Fern reminds her that only the three of them are supposed to know about the embargo, and he wants to know if she told Tomas about it. She 'fesses up that she did and Fern wants to know why. She tells him she needed him to go with her to talk to the lawyers so she had to tell him about it. Omar isn't happy and wants more info about Tomas, and Lety replies that they should trust him because he's her very good friend. She asks them to please understand, and Fernando tells her ok and lets her leave. Fernando and Omar continue to discuss the situation and Omar is still worried.

Lety gets home and there's some silliness about a fake phone call between her and Tomas, who tells her about the questions dad's been asking. She calms her dad down, then she and Tomas go upstairs to talk. He wants to know what' s up with the embargo and she tells him everything that happened with Sanchez. He's happy when he hears that the paperwork is being filed, which is odd because I thought he was against this all along. They discuss his cell phone a bit and he pretends to call Alicia and my skin crawls at this stalkerish behavior that Lety seems to find so amusing.

At Marcia's pad, she's in bed when Fern comes in and kisses her. She's still pissed and Fern tells her it's not his fault Fatima was flirting with him. She ain't buying and he tells her he's not interested in Fatima and she needs to understand that tomorrow's important and they can't just let Fatima go this close to the show. Marcia says fine, she'll forgive him under one condition, if she can't get Fatima's head on a platter she wants someone else's. Dumbo Fernando asks who and Marcia says she wants the head of Leticia!

I Love Juan - Thursday 11/01 - In which Paula looks like fruit but acts like a nut

Kike and Yadi are on the phone. Unable to communicate like adults, they bicker about the gender of their baby. Yadi calls him an idiot and Kike stares at the phone like a...well, like an idiot.

Wretched Paula, alone in her room, removes Juan's ring and reflects on his angry words.

Meanwhile the King of Rome stands outside her window wondering how his steps brought him to her house. He thought bubbles that there he stood, trying to pluck up his courage once again, but like a puzzle it wasn't easy.

Back to Paula who recalls Juan's words of love, when he said that holding her in his arms was like holding a little piece of heaven.

Back to Juan again (and this flip-flopping is making me seasick). He says he once kissed her feet but now God will give him the courage to retire his love and move on.

Yadi holds her shirt up to admire her belly which still looks concave to me. The phone rings and it's Kike. They resume their bickering. Kike interrupts her with some sweet talk. He calls her stubborn and says he loves her with the insanity and compassion of a firefighter. (Did I hear that right?) Yadi admits she's hormonal. Ha, not that there is much deviation from her usual screechy self.

Juan enters his room and rolls his eyes. Nidia awaits yet again, although this time not in a negligee. She tells him his eyes are sad and she advises him to tell mama Nidia what afflicts his heart. It's Paula, no?

We must be in some alternate universe because Nidia has Juan all tucked into bed and she's not even trying to jump his bones. He says his heart will put him in the insane asylum and she tells him to get a grip. Folks, I'm afraid I can't do Nidia's speech justice. She used a lot of dichos and phrases and I just couldn't follow. Suffice to say she gave Juan a major pep talk and basically told him to grow a pair and show the world how brave he is. After she leaves Juan thought bubbles that in spite of everything he would sleep well that night knowing he had a real family.

Next morning Nidia and a maid we have never seen before serve Juan a huge breakfast. Paula telephones and Nidia scampers away with the receiver so Juan can't hear. Paula is wearing a cantaloupe colored dress that shows off her cantaloupes, heh heh, a treat for our gentlemen viewers. Nidia doesn't want Juan to talk to her but Paula insists, it's urgent. Actually it's nothing really, except that Paula wants what she wants when she wants it.

While Nidia carries the phone to Juan, Paula's doorbell rings. Whoever could it be? It's the smug CL come to claim his trophy; would it be crass of me to say trophies?

Paula throws out the "aren't you coming for me today" line to Juan. Juan, remembering her recent smack down, says he's too busy. She presses and he gruffly agrees to meet her at her office.

"Juan, are you OK?" she stupidly inquires. CL stands behind her and gives her the major stink eye. This is how Paula likes it, using one sap to make the other one jealous. Juan remains gruff under Nidia's urging. After they hang up Nidia says he did pretty well but he has to have more "gazñetas". (Balls? I'm not sure but she makes that sort of gesture.) Juan says something like they are going to be measuring the water to the sweet potatoes. (Eh? Whatever.) Alirio comes downstairs and sees Nidia fussing over Juan.

CL and Paula argue tediously over her phone call to Juan. He challenges her, who is taking this worse, Juan or her?

Mari chases Juan as he leaves the house. She knows his resignation is for the best but she'll miss him at work. He says it's not the end of the world, no big deal, she'll get used to it all. "Not to all Juan," she coos. They share a meaningful stare.

Mari gives him a quick kiss and splits. Juan thought bubbles how strange women are. Hadn't he assumed that she hated him? Hadn't he broken her heart which was the very thing he himself vowed never to forgive ? Hmmm...

Good lord CL and Paula are still at it. She feels guilty. He stares at her cantaloupes and promises to be fair to Juan, and as his prize he will get...? Paula demands results first. CL wants to go public with their relationship. Go public? Like the entire Farell Industries doesn't already know?
Suddenly Ana walks in with her suitcase and gives CL her best cat butt face. Like mother like daughter.

Back at Casa Cachón Nidia is pretendercizing with Yadi's help. Yadi whines that she doesn't want to be far from the father of her child. Nidia says NO, hers is a decent house, not the house of Madam Cachon, a house of ill repute. One day Yadi will thank her for educating her in the style of the barefoot Carmelites. Really...I never knew that the barefoot Carmelites had extra-marital affairs, copped feels off of any comely male tush that passed by, and regularly boinked young studs while their husbands slept upstairs. Really... Well then get me to a nunnery!

CL wisely waits outside while Ana hears to her displeasure that CL plans to leave Monica for Paula. Paula insists that CL loves her. Doesn't Ana want Paula to be happy? Ana snaps that a person who lies once lies forever.

Juan visits the market and hits up Angarita for a job; he'll start from zero. Angarito balks, the pay is too little and Juan's not experienced as a dock loader. Juan urges in his persuasive way.

Dang, Ana must be desperate...whom does she call to complain about Paula but Nidia of all people. Ana complains that CL will be the disgrace of Paula. Oops, too late mom. Ana tells Nidia that she's seriously thinking about moving to Monterrey so she'll never have to see CL's mug again. Way to go ma, you're going to leave your daughter alone with the big bad wolfe? But oh yeah, this is the woman who packed her kid off to the U.S. so she could fool around with Nidia's husband.

Juan tells Angarita that he's not leaving Farell because of Pastor, no no no, Pastor is a great guy, simply marvelous in fact. Angarita asks Juan to forgive him for being frank, but is Juan Pastor's husband or something like that? Juan is impactado.

Fernando drives CL and Paula to work, and is thereby forced to listen to their odious conversation. "My mom hates you." "I'll win her over." "Let's take it slowly this time." "I couldn't agree more my love." Fer rolls his eyes at this pair of hypocrites in the back seat.

Monica strolls through the garage as they drive up. Paula and CL get out and are face to face with Monica. They stare at each other.

Moni tells Paula not to use 'usted', they are friends aren't they? Moni and Cesar exchange unpleasantries. As they leave for the office Fer winces, he is baffled by the upper classes.

The three jostle each other over who gets to exit the elevator first. Moni wins but CL kisses Paula in front of the office staff to the amazement of everyone.

CL wants to talk to Moni in private. He scolds her for being ironic with Paula. He tries to tell her how to behave but she reminds him that he threw her out of his life and now he doesn't have a say in how she lives or acts, claro? On her way out she says she'll not endanger his relationship with Paula. "Nothing can endanger that relationship," he insists half-heartedly.

Angarita mentions the nude painting to Juan. What else was he to think except that Juan and Pastor were...you know. Juan laughs, it's art not porn. Anyway, he decided not to judge Pastor because he saw that Pastor was no better or worse than any other guy. He suggests Angarita do the same. Angarita says he'll never get used to it.

Paula whines to Mari about her situation; she's ticked about running into Moni and CL's PDA. Yep, adds Mari, CL pretty much clarified the situation for all. Paula continues to whine shrilly that she's nervous around Moni. Mari suggests it's because Paula feels guilty. Speaking of the Queen of Rome, Moni enters the room, "Who feels guilty?"

Paula makes up some lame excuse and excuses Mari so she and Moni can stare at each other.

Pastor and Alirio get into the elevator together and you can cut the tension with a knife. Pastor thanks Alirio; due to his big mouth Pastor is now liberated from his shame. He told CL of Alirio's blackmail and CL in his infinite generosity forgave Pastor. Alirio says that explains Cl's rotten attitude toward him and Pastor should go to jail for thievery. Pastor says Alirio should go to jail for extortion. They glare.

Pastor removes his jacket and calls Alirio out. Alirio snidely comments that he won't dirty his hands fighting a "LOCA" (using the feminine) like Pastor. Pastor slaps Alirio hard, "Loca your grandma!" Alirio uses the standard telenovela line, "you are going to pay very, but very dearly for this," he threatens. "So long Licenciado Chicken," taunts Pastor as he exits smiling. This early altercation has put him in a good mood and his toupee never budged. Not a bad morning.

Moni and Paula have a strained conversation. It's really boring except at the end Moni asks Paula whatever happened to her relationship with Juan?

I guess Juan got the job with Angarita because back at the garage Kike congratulates him for it. Juan backslides into his old lying ways and says his job is as administrator. Kike is sceptical.

Juan asks Fernando for a typewriter so he can write his letter of resignation. "Typewriter? Dude that is seriously prehistoric," laughs Fer.

The guys manage to locate a typewriter and Juan begins to type painfully, slowly, excruciatingly. Moni surprises them and wants to see what he's writing. Juan hides the paper and agrees to drive her somewhere.

Alone, Moni asks Juan what went down between him and Paula. Juan responds that gentlemen have no memory. (Yet another difference between him and CL.) Moni pushes, he and Paula were so close then suddenly it was over. She will share with him what Paula told her. She told her that lamentably their relationship could never go anywhere. Their relationship had more complications than good times. Juan is surprised that Paula would say such a thing, especially to her rival. He thinks that he will never understand women.

Back at the office CL "comforts" Paula by reassuring her, and I paraphrase, that due to his drawn out lies, machinations and perfunctory dumping of Monica, she is no longer his wife. No matter that they are still married. Paula insists she'll never have a moment's peace working close to Monica, boo hoo. CL tells her to ignore Moni's rabid jealousy and sarcasm. Paula doesn't want to engage in psychological warfare, she only wants peace and tranquility.

Juan strolls back to the guys and tells another fib, that Monica begged him to stay at the company. Fernando calls Juan a Pinochito, basically a little Pinocchio I think. He and Kike are on to his bull. Juan finally handwrites his resignation and marches upstairs while Fer and Kike snicker in unison.

Juan strides through the office waving his resignation but is stopped by the never-working ever-bawling VP Paula who wants to talk. Juan hears Nidia's voice in his head telling him to wear the pants, be firm, don't get squashed by love. He tells Paula he will resign first, then he will talk to her.

But that's what Paula wants to discuss, his resignation. He shouldn't make such a hurried decision, he can't leave. Juan tells her his leaving is better for everyone, especially for her... And Tivo stopped here, right on a shot of Ivonne's big head watching them intently.

They also wonder who could be Ricky's father, and who is Isa's lover. Dani asks Rod a poignant question about if the lover may be someone they know. Rod gets a light bulb over his head and remembers Sofia's phone call earlier. He calls for Margarita to contact Sofia at the hacienda immediately. Dani asks what that's about and Rod explains Sofia's phone call.

* At the hacienda, Sofia and James discuss Pancho's lies about leaving for Mexico City versus what James knows to be true. Sofia is growing furious with her husband. The phone rings - it's Margarita. Sofia takes the call - Rod comes on the phone - Sofia urges her brother to take immediate action so Pancho and Isa don't run off and skip town together. She tells Rod everything she and James had discovered about Pancho and Isa being lovers all this time. Rod is impactado and furious. Sofia is crying and ultra-upset. He stays calm and tells Sofia to do the same - he and Dani are on her side. He asks to speak with James - Sofia sits down on the sofa - James agrees to help in Rod's plan. As James hangs up, he goes to comfort Sofia. Rod tells Dani that they have to stop Pancho and Isa immediately and decisively.

After Rod hangs up, he explains to Dani how he is planning to set up Isa (in very calculate moves). Bettina(?) enters. Rod gives him instructions on spying on Isa and reporting in on her every move. Bettina leaves.

* Gavi cries in her office. She misses Hurricane Rod and all his mood swings. She feels so alone and abandoned by him. She quickly wipes her eyes as Alonso enters. He asks if she's tired, she can go home to rest. Gavi refuses, she will stay to finish with the project. Alonso leaves. Gavi calls Rod's office - Margarita answers. Gavi quickly hangs up - she decides not to speak with Rod, instead she will patiently wait for Rod to return to her on his own.

* Pancho finally calls Isa from the airport public pay phone. Isa is very upset and angry. He explains about his sore arm and the delay in calling. Isa tells him that Rod has changed his plans and wants to go on the trip now. They hang up quickly. Maid enters - Isa tells her to tell Rod she couldn't wait and had to leave now. Just as Isa leaves the condo, Rod calls. Maid answers and tells Rod everything - from the messenger with the envelope with the two checks inside, the mysterious phone call for Isa, and that she just left without Ricky. Rod hangs up and tells Dani. They discuss the curious events.

* Isa is driving in her car.

* Dani and Rod are bewildered about Isa and the new turn of events. Rod picks up the latest tequila magazine with their grandpa on the cover. He flips it open to show Dani the phone article about Gavi and Alonso. Dani wonders about Rod's feelings for Gavi. Rod doesn't want to think about that now - he's too upset with Isa and Pancho.

* Fedra visits her son Aaron at the apartment. Aaron gives Fedra some good news over his latest plot.

* Pilar talks with Don Roberto by phone about Gavi. Don Roberto tells her that he has offered Gavi a prestigious position at the London office, just Gavi hasn't decided whether to accept or not. Pilar is happy and hopes Gavi does, it will be so great for Gavi's career to take the position. Don Roberto also informs Granny Pilar that Alonso will be going to London also. Granny P is surprised. She thanks Don Roberto for the information.

* Alonso thought bubbles to himself in his office.

* Sofia finally arrives in the city and cries and talks with Rod and Dani in Rod's office about Pancho and Isa's deception. Dani informs Sofia about the rest of the scheme - that Ricky isn't really Rod's son. Sofia is impactado and more furious. Bettina calls and reports in to Rod about Isa's latest movements. Rod informs Sofia and Dani that Isa is definitely going to meet with Pancho. Sofia wants to go with Rod to the confrontation. Rod thinks he should go alone. Dani agrees. Aaron walks in and interrupts the conversation - he brings up Gavi and Clara's inheritance. They brush him off and he leaves. Rod and Dani discuss whether to involve Gavi - Rod says no, this is a private family matter.

* Aaron calls Gavi and tries to start a fight with her about Clara's inheritance. Gavi tells him off and hangs up. Aaron is furious and frustrated.

* Bruno and Fedra meet with Granny P at the house. Fedra is furious when Granny P tells her about Gavi's job offer in London.

* Gavi and Don Roberto are hosting the latest tequila presentation to the public - this party is for Tequila Corso, and includes an art show. Don Roberto makes the opening remarks and then turns the microphone over to Gavi to introduce and explain the tequila products to the invited guests.

* Rod, Dani and Sofia continue discussing plans to confront Isa and Pancho, and about Ricky. Bettina calls in again and reports that Isa is with Pancho.

Juan Q 10/31- 3 Men with a Plan, CL to get a girl, Juan to forget a girl, and Angarita to teach a brother

Cl has just finished his come on now, do you really think you are better than me speech and Juan asks himself if this guy is serious and that he has a super strong desire to break his neck and show him how to respect other people’s feelings, but as it goes, the guy is right about almost everything he has said. Who am I but a poor dog living in the street and he’s the cream of the crop.
Kike and Fer wonder what’s happening with Juan and they say that he’s so stubborn there’s no talking him out of things and this time he’s playing with the bull. Fer says well, that’s what happens when he shoots too high.

Juan tells himself well that’s how it is I guess, the giraffes with the giraffes and the mandrills with the mandrills. He thinks maybe Fer is right and it’s time to forget all this and be the same Juan as before, the lovable lover. Time to clean the slate and start over!

He comes out of the office and finds Don Angarita who begs Ivonne to speak with CL, and she very snottily tells Ang that he’s still occupied. Juan intervenes and asks if CL is no longer with Juan she should let him see Angarita. She says he’s busy with other things but finally agrees to announce Angarita after he reminds her that the worst fight is the one never fought.

Marely asks what Juan was doing in the boss’s office, Juan answers he did the most ridiculous thing that he never should have done.

CL remarks to Ivy what a morning with Juan and now this guy - he agrees to see him, and Ivonne tells Ang to go in and not take too long.

Angarita gets straight to the point and asks CL what to do about the joke that idiot Pastor pulled. CL isn’t sure what he’s talking about at first but Ang clarifies that it’s about the "commissions he took under the table" (bajo la agua - under the water).

Kike and Fer see Juan and ask him how it went with the big boss. Juan cuts them down to size accusing them of being gossips. They tell him to calm down. He says calm his leggings (Mis polainas)? He tells them that he never sticks his nose in anyone else’s business so he doesn’t expect anyone should mind himself or herself with his and he tells them to get to work and he’s not going to tell them anything. Kike and Fer tell each other that they guess basically it was worse than they thought.

Mar & Pau chat about Juan and Mar tells Pau she doesn’t really know what happened though Pau fears that the guys lost their heads, because guys do that sort of thing. Mar says no that didn't happen at least, but she still doesn’t know what did.

Juan is walking down a street and as he steps off a curve, suddenly a car swerves and stops in front of him. The driver gets out and yells at Juan calling him big and stupid and says maybe the next guy won't be so considerate.

Juan continues on his way in a fog just ignoring his surroundings. He is next walking across a huge street when the light is still green and not paying any attention. We see a car coming at him honking but he’s not reacting. It looks as though the car will hit him when…. commercial. And trick or treaters. This time it’s little puppy, a baby cow, and another small fuzzy animal I didn’t catch. Not a mandrill though.

When we come back from the commercial, Screeeechhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Luckily Juan did not become menudo. This next car stops and the guy gets out and tells him if he wants to kill himself don’t involve innocent people. Maybe the next guy won't stop for you! Juan apologizes and continues on his way across the street. Cars are still speeding around him. I'm telling you, the DF is not a place you want to wander aimlessly oblivious of traffic. He's damn lucky...course this is telenovelaland.

Brother Ang is talking to CL about his brother and doesn’t understand why CL didn’t already send him to jail (al tanque – the tank). CL says there were attenuating circumstances and that Pastor has always been a good worker. Bro Ang goes off on a philosophical complaint and says that that’s what is wrong with this country; that people commit bad deeds and essentially get just a wrist slap so they come back to do bad things again. He tells Cl he is the one who is going to pay CL back all the money Pastor owes him, as long as the possibility of sending Pastor to jail remains open. Ang said that he’s going to resolve this problem for Pastor but it’s not for free, it will cost him: Blood sweat and tears (Sangre, sudor y lagrimas) CL is interested and they make an agreement. Ang says hopefully one day they can meet again to discuss possible business deals. Cl tells him he’s in his own house, whenever he wants.

The phone rings in parking. Mar looks for Juan and Fer tells her that he wandered out and was acting like a crazy man. She relays this to Pau. They collectively worry about him.

Juan, still walking in a daze, tells himself he feels empty, not knowing where he is or where he’s going. It doesn’t matter anyway because no matter where he goes she’s not there. He tells God that he’s never felt love like this before, and it’s never hit him so hard. He wonders why he was dealt this blow and why life causes us so much strife at times.

Ang gives Pastor the good news and Pastor thanks him profusely. But then Ang gives him the conditions, that this is going to be a loan, and so Pastor promises, of course. Bro does not trust Pastor so he asks how and when he’s going to do it, but this was a rhetorical question because Bro comes up with the solution. He doesn’t want a note from Pastor. Bro says to Pastor, “You’ll work in the market.” Pastor is impactada.

Cl recounts to Pau about Juan’s offerings and he cracks up that Juan was only missing a trio with maracas. She tells him not to make fun and to respect him. He keeps on laughing and she gets up to leave. He can’t help himself and keeps on cackling. She tells him each has a way of expressing their love. Juan is simple, but that’s part of his charm. Cl says now he’s worried, and wonders if she has fallen for him. She says she has a special sort of affection for him. Cl laughs here and there and says he’s just jealous. She says they better change the subject. He is still fighting back laughter.

Juan is back in church asking Santo Nino de Atocha for help to either get her as his or forget her. Either one of those will be a miracle.

Marely flashes back to Fer telling her Juan left and begs the Virgin to protect him.

Juan comes back to the office and Kike and Fer hide behind magazines and try to ignore Juan. He apologizes for snapping at them. They make amends.

Pau comes out and asks if Mar heard from Juan. They both hope nothing bad happened to him.

Juan tells Kike he has to get Pau out of his head. He decides he has to go and can’t keep on seeing that woman.

Pastor tells Ivonne about his bro’s arrangement. They also talk about how wonderful Juan was with Pastor’s death. Ivy thinks maybe Pastor’s fallen back into illusions with Juan. Pastor denies this but describes how Juan can be such a great friend, and he won't give that up, least of all now that he’ll be working around Juan at the market.

Juan tells Kike he was praying to Santo and he was told that he is on the right track and that he needs to close the love store. Kike agrees with Juan and tells him maybe he should start anew. Juan says he’s going to ask Ang for work. Kike says he might end up back at Farell, and Juan says the only way he’ll be back is in a nice ship like that one and he points to CL’s Mercedes.

Pastor is in with CL and CL is sending him on some work tasks in a sort of holier than thou tone.

Juan finally goes up and sees Mar who is glad that he is ok and tells Juan to go see Pau. Juan goes in to see Paula. She asks if he is still mad. He addresses her in the formal, and she is surprised. She asks him what happened with CL and he remarks how fast the gossip travels. She is mad that this was between them, and it should have stayed between them, and the next time... He says there will be no next time. He is going to resign.

Fer tells Kike he wishes he could have been as valiant as Juan when he was in this situation and Kike says you too had something with Pau? Fer says no not with Pau but with someone else and it was similar to the trick that was played on him and Juan needs to go away in order to be saved. If he stays he’s doomed and Fer knows of what he speaks.

Pau screams that Juan is making a rash decision. He says no, she has a car now, so she doesn’t need him. She thinks the business should decide and he said no. My days as your chauffeur are over. She says we’ll talk to Pastor to find something else. He appreciates her concern but he’s not in need of her help and he says if he goes, yes it’s because he doesn’t want to see her anymore, as this is torture for him. She runs at him and tells him no, but you and I have always been friends and so we always will be. He tells her maybe she can see him as only a friend but he just can’t, and that being here watching her seeing CL everyday is going to be incredibly painful for him. He asks her how he can possibly forget the only true love he ever had, and he’s the only one that lost in this whole story. He emerges from her office and puts on his strong man face.

Juan comes out of the office and tells Marely that everything has a beginning and an end, and this is the end. She asks of what, and he says everything. Pau comes out and tells Mar he’s going to resign. He doesn’t want to see me any more.

Juan is now riding in the truck with Kike, he wonders to himself why that woman begged him not to leave. He says maybe she’s not sure herself how she feels, then he tells himself to stop it and snap out of these thoughts that have given him false hope all along. He says out loud it’s over. Kike says what and he says with Pau. They chat about that for a little and then Kike asks him if he studied for the test. He says yes. He tells himself that he appreciates Kike is there as a true friend and knows how to make him feel better.

Pau gets a call from Ana who thinks Pau sounds sad. Pau says it’s because Juan is going. Ana tells Pau on the phone it’s best Juan leaves, because of course he doesn’t want to be around you if he has no hope. She asks if she's sad because he started to win over her heart and she cares more for him than she thinks.

Juan gets his test and seems shocked (Hija de maiz) at the questions and that he is only given a half an hour. The teacher tells him even if she gave him 2 hours his answers would be the same. Oh ye of little faith. He gets mad and decides that he will prove her wrong. He asks for God to lend his blessed hand on this.

Kike is surprised to see Fer show up. Fer and Kike are wondering how he will do and waiting for him in a café. Fer tells Kike he came to see if he has a future as a teacher.

Juan crosses his paper and hands it to the teacher - she wonders sarcastically if he doesn’t want to use his remaining 30 seconds of time. he thinks he's good. She says fine, she’ll review the test right now. He is impactado and says he’s surprised that she can do it so fast. He tells himself it’s the moment of truth.

Juan comes out and finds Fer waiting with Kike nervously. He’s surprised to see him. Fer cuts to the chase and asks how he did. Juan looks down at his paper and hesitates. Fer reads this that he failed. He yells how could he after we spent so much time. He says Juan must have stones in his head. Fer and Kike keep lamenting the fact that Juan didn’t apply himself and Juan says but I passed. Kike and Fer are so caught up in their ranting that they don’t hear Juan, twice until he grabs them by the shoulders and says no I passed. The whole restaurant applauds him.

He was surprised that in the middle of all of this sadness he was able to find something to cheer himself up. Maybe small to some, but really big to him.

Marely prays to San Antonio that Juan gets Pau out of his head and makes room for her.

The boys drink some cervezas to celebrate. Juan thanks them for their help but declines to drink much with them because he knows what he ends up doing if he drinks beer all night and he doesn’t want to end up that way and meet the devil in person.

Nidia chats with Mar because she can’t sleep either. Nid thinks Juan is with Pau, but Mar tells her Pau is going back to CL and he’s divorcing. Nid is concerned.

Yadi tells Kike how bad her nausea is. Kike is sure it will be a feisty girl for causing such problems to her mom. Yadi says she’s the Mom and she knows best that it’s a boy. They fight over what it will be, boy or girl, Yadi hangs up.

Pau is in her room taking off the ring Juan gave her and flashing back to Juan’s statements when he announced he was leaving.

We end the show with Juan standing outside of Pau’s house and staring up at her window. Wonder what will happen!

HAPPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amar Sin Limites #76, Wednesday 10-31: Get me to the banquet hall on time

Before we begin the evening's drama-fest, we have to get through the last bits of last night's drama: Julio's pleased with how well the fashion show went and he wants to take Arnaldo to dinner; Team Mauricio comes home and hears that the caterer has brought in a sample dinner; Mauricio clues us in that he wanted Diego out of the way during the wedding, but he didn't want him dead, and he didn't want bullets involved; Andres is pissy that Mauricio didn't entrust him with this job; Diego tells a sad, sad, Silvana that he's still in love with Azul (duh!) and he still intends to stop the wedding; Silvana asks whether she can have him if he doesn't manage to stop the wedding; Ceci advises Azul to talk to Mauricio if she has doubts about getting married.

Tía Inés' hospital room: GSD leaves Emilia a message to tell her he's staying with Inés tonight…and that he loves Emilia. Sure, right, but not as much as his cigarettes, I'll bet.

Mansión Malicia v 2.0: Ceci says if Azul is going to call it off, she'd better do it now and not at the altar. Ceci says that just because Azul's not going to be with Diego, that doesn't mean she has to marry Mauricio. Azul tells her to forget it and the go to eat dinner.

Backstage: Diego tells Silvana she's special and he doesn't want to hurt her and he can't make a promise he doesn't know if he can keep. Silvana says she's not looking for love, just hope. Diego points out that she tried with Flavio, but it didn't work out. Silvana says she knows she and Diego can work out since they, erm, worked out once before. Diego says he's going to try to get Azul back and "jugar el todo por el todo" ("bet everything", "be all in", etc.--Ooh, perhaps this will be idiom night!). If he loses, Silvana wants the chance to bet on Diego. All of a sudden, these people sound like they've been watching Celebrity Poker Showdown nonstop. He says if Azul marries Mauricio, he'll give Silvana a shot and he'll quit chasing after Azul. Wow. Wasn't that romantic. I guess sometimes desperation does work, huh?

Mansión Malicia v 2.0: The Caterer proposes a menu of pre-Hispanic cuisine, with a touch of Asian flavor. *pretension alert, pretension alert* Andres has already heard the warning bells and is flipping off The Caterer. The starter: Squash Blossom Mousse. Main dish: Red Snapper (she calls it "guachinango" which the dictionary translates as "slimy") with Sweet and Sour Sauce and Toasted Sesame Seeds. Dessert: hearts of sweet cheese on strawberry glaze ("espejo de fresas", literally meaning "mirror of strawberries") decorated with mint and chocolate shavings. Oh, and of course, the wedding cake, which is what Caty is interested in, seeing as how she's had dinner already and has been making faces throughout The Caterer's recitation (ok, to be fair, so have I). Azul likes that they're including seafood, since some people don't eat red meat, which she apparently only says so that Caty can chime in that her Dead!Mami didn't eat meat, remember Papa? Mauricio sends her to bed for that remark, and Caty begs for Azul to put her to bed, so she can show Azul her dress. Mauricio says he can't deny his little ladies anything. *gag*

Casa Moron: Mama and Papa come home to find Lidia lying on the couch. Papa brags about his new car and Lidia wonders where he got the money for it, which sets Papa off. Lidia says that Piero was going to give her a car, but she ran him off since she was supposed to act dignified. Papa says that doesn't include not accepting cars from Piero. Mama thinks Lidia done right. She also wants the divorce proceedings started, but Lidia won't hear it.

Mansión Malicia v 2.0: Caty asks if Azul's really going to marry her daddy. Wow, even the kid's picked up on Azul's wishy-washyness. Caty asks forgiveness for mentioning her Dead Mami and doesn't want Azul to be mad at her. Caty says she doesn't want to think about Dead Mami anymore because now Azul's going to be her Mami. *gag*

Casa Moron: Manuel's giving more Love Lessons, this time to Lidia. He tells her it's obvious Piero's getting the money from Lucia. Lidia agrees and says it's humiliating that Piero's sleeping with his ex. Papi's advice is that no one will know, and besides, she's got to squeeze everything out of Piero she can (ew, not like that) so that if he does go back to Lucia, Lidia won't be left empty-handed. Papi says she should put her pride aside and start asking Piero for presents. Okay, I know Manuel started out as an all-around jerk, but when did he become this creepy manipulative guy who pimps out his daughter?

Hospital: GSD reminisces about the first time he heard Inés play a concert. He says she looked so fragile and beautiful holding the instrument, but when she started playing she looked…Inés starts crying and he doesn't finish his sentence. Emilia knocks on the door and enters. GSD, who just a minute ago was waxing rhapsodic about Inés, tries to kiss Emilia hello, but she asks him for a word outside. They leave a weeping Inés. Emilia showed up to gripe GSD out for being the one to spend the night with Inés. She reminds him about why Inés tried to kill herself and says all this attention might be misinterpreted. GSD thinks that, as a therapist, she'd understand why he's spending all this time with Inés, but Emilia tells him that, as a therapist, it's a bad idea to give her all this attention and that she'll use it to keep him near her. GSD says Inés needs his support and he needs Emilia's understanding, especially now that he's going to bring Inés to his apartment to live with him for a few days. Emilia's "QUÉ" can probably be heard all the way out in the hospital parking lot. Emilia's convinced this is all a bid on Inés' part to get GSD all to herself. GSD points out that neither of his kids can do it since Azul's going to get married and Arnaldo's gay. GSD grabs Emilia and tells her she's the woman he loves (right in front of Inés window). Emilia needs time to think and runs off. GSD just now realizes he did that right in front of the window. Dude, GSD has a terminal case of stupidity.

Casa S&I&G: Silvana comes home to a lecture from Gloria the Drama Queen, who was sleeping on the couch, probably so that she would have more to complain about. Additional complaints include: smelling alcohol on Silvana's breath, Isela not being home yet like a "decent" woman would be, and sleeping on the couch like a visitor even though Isela's not even home yet. Silvana blows her off and says she's going to bed. Gloria chases after her, saying since Silvana gave Isela her bed, Gloria's willing to share hers with Silvana--but only because Silvana's her daughter.

Mansión Malicia v 2.0: Emilia comes over to tell Azul she's not coming to the wedding because she can't support Azul getting married out of pity…oh, and also because she's pissed off at GSD for moving Inés into his apartment. Hm, who's going to win the Drama Queen award for tonight after all?

Hospital: Inés clues GSD in to the fact that if she were still his girlfriend, she wouldn't want him shacking up with an ex either. Not that she knows where she'd go, but what she does know is that GSD and Emilia are together for good. Sounds like she did a lot of thinking during that coma.

Mansión Malicia v 2.0: Azul tells Emilia she no longer sees Inés as the woman who came between her parents, now she sees her as fragile and needing affection. Emilia's pissed that Inés is getting what she wanted with her emotional blackmail. Emilia's worried that Inés will take GSD's attention the wrong way. Azul tells her that her parents always fought and Emilia asks whether, if she doesn't make an effort to be understanding, she could lose GSD. Azul nods. I roll my eyes.

Casa S&I&G: Silvana and Gloria are sleeping (or trying to) in one of the beds in the bedroom. Gloria hogs the covers. I think we all could have guessed that. Silvana complains that Gloria didn't even ask why she was happy. Isela comes in just then and Silvana bounds onto the other bed to tell Isela her news: Diego said that if he can't stop the wedding, then he'll give Silvana a chance. Nope, doesn't sound any more romantic than it did last time. Isela looks all excited about it. Silvana takes it as a done deal that in less than 24 hours, Diego will be all hers.

Casa E&G: Diego has called a meeting of the Workingman's Mafia: Don Chucho, Efrain, and Gaspar. He's brought them together to help him bust up the wedding. The thought of the four of them as a crack team of wedding-busting commando's fills my cynical heart with glee. I wonder who's going to give whom a boost over the wall, or whether they'll try to sneak in as caterers. We cut to commercials. When we return, the older guys tell him he's nuts. Gaspar tells him that stealing the bride is romantic. Gaspar wants them to get Diego a horse, but Efrain tells him they need to be realistic. Efrain decides he'll help, but Diego needs to get his feet on the ground. Chucho says he should talk to Azul instead of busting up the wedding. Diego says he's tried. Chucho says if he's tried talking to her and she won't change her mind, then Diego needs to give up. Diego YELLS at Chucho that he won't let Azul marry a murderer. I've never actively disliked Diego, but yelling at Chucho-unforgivable! Efrain tells him to follow his own path and let Azul follow hers. Diego says this is necessary because he loves Azul and she loves him. Yes, but together the two of you are incredibly stupid, not to mention boring, and you would only make marginally beautiful babies, so really I'm not seeing the point.

Casa S&I&G: Isela's happy if Silvana's happy, but she wants to hear the whole story. Silvana wants to hear about Isela's date with Anibal. Isela suggests that since they have "mucha tela de donde cortar para hacer un bonito vestido de chisme" ("plenty of cloth to cut from to make a pretty dress of gossip"…I would say that's more like a metaphor than an idiom) they should do it over coffee. The go out into the other room, while Gloria pretends to be asleep…at least until they leave.

Workingman's Mafia headquarters: They have now moved on to looking at a diagram of the house. Diego is telling everyone where their positions will be. He tells Gaspar that his position was chosen based on not actually being invited to the wedding. Gaspar says he's only doing this so as not to miss seeing this romantic event. Chucho, ever the voice of reason, reminds Gaspar that Romeo and Juliet were romantic too, and look how they ended up--dead! Efrain crosses himself and hopes this won't end the same way. No way the viewing public could ever be so lucky.

Mansión Malicia v 2.0: Emilia finally takes her leave, so Azul can get some rest before the big heist…digo, the wedding. Azul begs Emilia to say she'll come to the wedding and take her mother's place. She wants GSD and Emilia to be her witnesses. Perhaps someone can fill me in as to how important the choosing of witnesses is? It sounds like it's maybe even more important than the role of best man/maid of honor, the way people fuss over it.

Hospital: Arnaldo came to see Inés, but Inés has left with Azul and GSD.

Graveyard: GSD, Azul, and Inés have come to pay Mami a visit. Azul asks for Mami to show her the path she should take. I'd give anything for Mami to return for the grave and give Azul a good hearty smack. Inés tells Mami that she's going to give Azul away in Mami's place. The way Azul turns her head to look at GSD and GSD won't look at her, I'm guessing she wasn't expecting this. Well, that and that she'd asked Emilia to do it the night before.

Wedding: I see Andres and Ceci are really enjoying being able to publicly display affection. Various guests enter, including Burgay, Piero and Lucia, some extras we've never met. We don't get a very good look at Caty's dress before Mauricio asks Chonita to take care of her (which always seems to be code for "get the kid out of the room"). Andres comes over to tell Mauricio to chill. Mauricio asks about the extra security that was supposed to be hired and Andres says he took care of everything. He does, however, want to know why he wasn't supposed to bring Jacinto. Mauricio says Jacinto has another job today. Andres is alarmed that Mauricio trusted something to one of Eva's men, but Mauricio reminds him, with a nasty laugh, that Boris trumps Eva.

Super Secret Virus Room: Jacinto tells Young Paul McCartney that he'll give him the signal for when to set off the bomb. He leaves the room to answer a call from Mauricio, who asks to be kept informed.

Wedding: Mauricio calls Boris, who asks if everything's ready. Mauricio says it is. Sounds like the plan is for Mauricio to do the blowing up before Ivan can get to it. Whichever one of them does it first (which may mean, whichever one of them actually kills Eva) wins. If it's Mauricio, he takes Eva's place; if it's Ivan, he takes Eva's place and Mauricio's "out". Boris doesn't like doing this on the wedding day, but Mauricio says it's the perfect alibi. They hang up and Mauricio gloats that he's going to be Boris' right hand and also married to the woman he (Mauricio) wants.

In the car: Inés tells Azul she's so happy to be here. GSD asks the chauffer what's up and the chauffer says someone's following them. And that someone would be Diego, who's driving fairly recklessly. GSD says they shouldn't tell the ladies.

Wedding: Gaspar is nervous and begs Chucho to go over the plan again. The plan is, if Diego fails, they grab Azul as she gets out of the car, to buy Diego more time. Gaspar says "Que Dios nos agarre confesados" ("May God take us after we've confessed" I don't know if this qualifies as an idiom either, but what he's referring to is being sin-free after one confesses, which would be a good time to meet one's Maker, should one ascribe to that set of beliefs--basically Gaspar's being a little melodramatic).

On the Road: Diego tries to overtake Azul's car and ends up blocking it so that the driver has to stop. He pulls on a ski mask, but gets taken down by the extra security guys. They're going to move the car so that Azul's car can go on. They shove Diego in the back of a black SUV. Score one for Mauricio.

Eva and Ivan are in another black SUV. Eva asks Ivan to stop the car and they pull over by the side of the road. Eva gets out and stands there crying and hoping that everything goes well. Ivan says it will, but Eva says this may be the last time they see each other. Ivan says after they fake her death, she'll never be able to contact him again or Boris will find out. Eva thanks him for her new life and Ivan tells her to be happy for them both. Eva cuts him off and says they should go. They get back in the car.

Wedding: Mauricio thinks Diego got to Azul, but Andres tells him the security guys got Diego and are wanting to know what to do with him. Mauricio tells Andres to have them take Diego to Cocoyoco (Mansión Malicia v 1.0) to share Eva's little surprise. Outside, Don Chucho and Gaspar notice that Azul's car is there, but there's no sign of Diego. GSD helps Azul out of the car and she goes inside. So much for grabbing her. Azul walks in with GSD and Inés. She tells Mauricio about the other car. GSD complains about how the roads are so unsafe. GSD walks Inés to a table and Caty starts sprinkling a flower path. Outside, Gaspar tells Don Chucho that Efrain said that some guys intercepted Diego. I guess Efrain was in the car behind Diego's so he could update Chucho and Gaspar? Chucho is alarmed. Efrain is trying to follow the guys, but has a crappier car than the one Diego was in, so he's having trouble keeping up. Gaspar's pretty freaked, but Chucho says to chill, he'll go tell Azul everything right now.

Anibal's office: Silvana has come to brag to Clemencia that if Diego can't bust up the wedding, Silvana is his consolation prize. What? That's what it amounts to. Clemencia's happy for her and they hug. But then Clemencia is alarmed about this talk of Diego busting up the wedding, and also alarmed that Diego didn't even tell her the wedding was today. She asks Silvana if Diego was planning something. Silvana says she was so happy about their deal that she didn't even think to ask Diego what he was planning. Doh!

Wedding: Emilia tells Azul she looks beautiful. She hasn't gotten around to telling Emilia she's been relieved from witness duty, but Mauricio rushes her off to start the ceremony. The judge asks for the rings as Azul looks like she's about to faint. Then he asks for the Groom's witnesses to stand on one side and the Bride's on the other. Emilia comes over to take GSD's other arm and Azul tells both women that she wants them to be her witnesses. So, does that mean GSD's been un-witnessed or what? Looks like Ceci and Andres are on Mauricio's side, unless Caty's allowed to be a witness. The photographers take a bunch of pictures.

Tomorrow: Will Azul actually sign the register? Will Eva get blown to bits? Tune in to (yet another) "decisive" episode and find out.
