Amores Verdaderos #136 Wed 5/22/13 This is only a test!

Well I've got two lovers and I ain't ashamed ♪♪
While Vikki and her old flame, Carlos González, are getting reacquainted in the high-rise luxury apartment, the Big Angel is in his boss's studio, fussing over roses and candles, checking his tie in the mirror and fretting over the time.  It's getting late.  Where is the señora Victoria?  He plays with a blank canvas on the easel and then seems to have an idea.  Smiling broadly, he picks up a paint brush.

Vikki seems to let her guard down.  She gives honest answers to Carlos's questions about her marriage and her family.  Carlos is honest about at least one thing: he still resents Aníbal for the way he was treated twenty-five years ago. But not only does he lie about his work, he plays dumb: Adriana may be working with a Catalán film-maker named Joan Constantín.  Do you know him?  Nope, never heard of him.

Carlos takes Vikki's hand and stands very close to her.  [Too close, buster.  The Patio folks at the Arriaga table don't like this guy one bit.]  It has been so many years and yet he trembles in her presence just as he used to do.  Does she feel the same?  Vikki ducks the question.  She thought he'd never forgive her for not having the courage to chose him over Nelson Brizz.  [Listen honey, he never has forgiven you!]

PEAM #53-5/22/13: On The First Day of Christmas My True Love Gave To Me: Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire???

Recap By Pablo

Dec. 14th

This episode has been sponsored by Payaso Comforters and Edible Arrangements.

Staff in the Hospital Universitario de Monterrey didn't know what they were getting into when Rogelio Rivadeneira was taken to the ER. Of course, besides the clean room and the service, they needed to clear at least one floor for Avon employees, who, true to their slogan (you can leave Avon but you can never take Avon out of your heart) love to take Avon wherever they go, and they all just love to hang around in Hospitals (and Restaurants)!

Alma is there, she has the right as the girlfriend, but Jesús is also there (in a very bad moment to discuss about lies, sex and videotapes), Verónica gets there too, Fernando, Discua, Susana, Patricia, Elías, Melchor, Gaspar y Baltazar...

PEAM, Tuesday 5/21/13 (#52): Thanks, I Needed That

(Video here. This isn't the one I remember most vividly, but it's the best I could find.)

REWIND: Valentina asks Eli if it's true that he and Mommy are getting divorced.

Rogue's car runs out of gas, and he abandons it on the road. He doesn't pull off to the side of the road, mind you. He just leaves it on the-right-of-way while he and Patymelt hike to the nearest gas station, 1 km away. (Don't cry for them - that's less than one mile.) He lets Paty carry the gas can. (He'd better hope she doesn't have a lighter. She is fighting for him why, exactly? He is racking up a serious karma bill.) She points out that he has a sunburn on just one side of his face.

At the premarital counseling, Padre Diego wants Alma and Chucho to tell the group how they met. Chucho summarizes this entire telenovela so far, starting with the falling bucket in Episode Two. He reveals everything that's in his heart for Alma.

Alma sniffles as Chucho concludes his story. He says they eventually realized that they couldn't live without one another. Alma's nose turns pink. Their audience demands that they kiss. The priest roars his approval.

Embarrassed and relieved, Alma and Chucho rush back to their seats - but the padre isn't done with them yet. Now it's Alma's turn to explain why their love will endure. Alma says that... Rogelio... (it took her a moment to remember his name) is noble and loyal and would never betray her or lie to her. He's not selfish, he helps her whenever he can, and he's her best friend, offering unconditional friendship. He's sensitive and optimistic, always with a smile even at the worst of times, and always finding the bright side. She thanks God for that bucket and also for the patience her prometido has with her. She'll always trust him. It's hard enough to find someone with all these fine qualities who also loves you. If one of them falls down, the other picks him/her up. Always respectfully, with care and a smile. It is unconditional love. Our love is true and forever.

Thunderous applause. More praise from the padre.

Is it possible that Alma realizes that Chucho is the other half of her orange - and that Rogue is a lemon?

Qué Bonito Amor #26 (Mex 38.2-39) Monday 5/20/13

Capitulo 38.2: Pretense and Denial

Mendoza Apartment: La vipora de Elvira enters the Mendoza apartment to return the sombrero to Amalia along with her poisonous lie about Jorge Alfredo spending the night with her. Maria – in a classic case of bad timing – arrives just in time to hear this. Amalia asks Elvira why she didn't return the sombrero to Jorge Alfredo and gets the response that it is being returned “to its proper owner” because something this elegant can't belong to someone who doesn't value it. However, Amalia appears to have Elvira's number at least in one way: She calls her on her lie, saying she recognizes her evil intentions. She tells Elvira carefully that she is of low moral character. Elvira pretends to be on some high horse, demanding to know how Almira dares talk to her that way. Almira answers “the same way you dare to come here to disturb the peace of this house. Ge out of here and leave my daughter alone. Get out of here and don't return if you don't want me to confront your parents and tell them what sort of 'person' you really are.” Perhaps shocked that a woman like Amalia has told her off so effectively the nasty bitch departs saying “I'm going. This is like talking to a dog.” Maria follows her out. Amalia doesn't like that and we don't either.

PEAM #51, 05/20/13 - True Confessions of Love, True Confessons of Crime, and More Love and More…

The drowning of Fernando continues with candles and hosannas. Pati prepares the potent potion for Roguey in a good glass of wine.  Valentina shares her happiness at having spent some great playtime with her Papa Elias now that he is back. The mental giant in a mini girl body asks if PE and MamaBear are going to divorce.  Mama nods yes.

Alma visits the poor hospital ward offering Panfilo a private hospital to better his care.  He humbly says wait until tomorrow, his foot will probably be much better. There is no need for her to spend her money.  She asks for a hug at least, which he gladly and generously grants calling her daughter.

Fernando begs for mercy but she calls on the cosmos and divine light to bless this dunking torture, I mean baptism.  The enthusiastic acolytes keep him under so long and everyone gets scared then it gets scarier as he has disappeared when they try to pull him out.  Everyone panics as we see Fernando's body cast over a small water way then hang prone and motionlessly in the water.

Paty presents her passionate potion as Roguey drinks enthusiastically, seems he only tastes the delicious wine.

Corazon Indomable, Capitulo 6 – Monday, 05/20/2013: After a Night of Passion and Wedded Bliss, a Morning-After Full of Unpleasantries

Recap by LatinaInMD

It looks like the writers selected this episode to fully test our “Eeewww-Meter.”  We begin as Grandpa Ramiro leads Maricruz away from the shack, with Solita and La India close behind them, but no Moctavio in sight.

Eeewww #1 - Maricruz is still wearing the excessively torn and grimy potato-sack dress she wore at her wedding, thrown over the nightie she used on her wedding night, and very likely over the same underwear.  (Guess gramps couldn’t borrow that Quinceañera dress Maricruz requested, and her bell-sleeved dress must have been too clean and white, too frilly and not torn enough, to pass muster as a wedding dress.)  Maricruz asks gramps if he doesn’t love her anymore and wants her to go away never to return.  He says no, but reminds her that she is now a married woman and her husband is “the boss” and may get angry if he comes home and doesn’t find her. Maricruz grudgingly agrees to return; hardly the attitude of a blissful newlywed.

Back at the hacienda, Lucia tells Ofelia she is pleased that Maricruz took off like a wild child, as this will make it easier for her to “entangle her” in her intended schemes, so that Octavio will have no choice but to dump her.

Riding their horses side-by-side at a gentle trot, Octavio and Miguel seem more like buddies than feuding brothers.  Octavio shares with Miguel that he knows not what awaits him, but what he can “sincerely” tell him is that each day he feels more attracted to Maricruz, to her sweetness and great love for him.  He says he thinks she is the “ideal woman” to be the mother of his children.  Miguel says what Octavio feels for Maricruz is pity.  Octavio says maybe so, but he can help her improve herself and teach her good manners, and there’s a chance he will stay with her on the ranch and work so both of their families can prosper.  (Did one night of passion transform El Chulito?!)

The Foyer of the Balvanera Manse, Where All Pertinent Bidness Takes Place
Adri and the Angel are talking about his new duties as her bodyguard. They won't be much and he'll have lots of free time. Ms Vikki joins them and even suggests to the Angel that he can take some agronomy classes on line and get his degree. Who would have thunk? He can even use the computer in her study if he wants to. Well, it's never to late for a degree, and hey he can ask Santino about taking some security classes this way too. Awesome! Adri is sad that Ms Vikki is leaving tomorrow and wants to know when her flight leaves. Of course, here comes the FF being his nosey self and butts into the convo wanting to know what is this about Ms Vikki leaving. Ms Vikki tells him she is going to Buenos Aires and FF turns to the Angel and says he's lucky to be going to such an interesting country, provided if he has ever been out of the country before. Ms Vikki snaps on the FF and tells him Angel isn't coming with her. He wants to know if she is going, gasp** alone? She tells him it's none of his bidness. Adri pipes up that Angel is her bodyguard now, and Ms Vikki tells him she is going with her amante. Cara de impactado de FF! Same with Angel for that matter. He didn't see that coming!

Qué Bonito Amor #25 (Mex 37-38.1) Friday 5/17/13 La Cucaracha’s Revenge or The Mexican Hat Dance Begins, Courtesy of Elvira

Sad Sack de Santos wasn’t able to serenade his way back into Maria’s life this time and got kicked off the balcony by Amalia to boot; La Vampira de Elvira has plans to deliver JAntos’ sombrero to its rightful owner, Maria’s mama, in order to get back at him for insulting and rejecting her at the party the night before.

Lo Del Nuevo:
[some things are condensed to keep down the confusión-ed.]

JAntos has no choice but to climb back down from the balcony.  He walks back home, sad but hopeful.  Maria, meantime, gets ready for class and thinks weepily, if not sleepily, back to her shock at seeing Elvira sitting on JAntos’s lap and remembers Coloso’s warning that JA isn’t the angel [pera en dulce] she thinks he is when he showed her the photo of JA and Elvira kissing in the car.

Back at Daniela’s apartment, Daniela and Pam are scandalized to see Elvira swapping spit with El Coloso after swearing she’s so interested in Jorge Alfredo.  Oh, it’s just a casual thing, like Dani kissing El Baritono the night before, remember?   Or was that so casual, asks vicious Vi?  Dani swears it was and is.  El Coloso and Vi give Dani a hard time about telling him it was her birthday party (not to mention the rest of an assorted variety of lies to all the boys, right guys and galls?

Santos checks in on Irasema, but she’s waiting for him already.  She shows him the huge 4 foot bouquet of flowers from Sue and asks if he really knows what she does for a living?  No. Well, she hates the thought of the poor guy feeling like a jerk when he finds out she’s really a hooker.  Truth is, no man has ever given her a thing, let alone some flowers.  Either he’s in love with her or she’s awakened some sort of overpowering sentiment in him now, she tells JAntos.  Susanito’s the only man who has ever treated her decently in her entire life, she says pensively.
________________________________________

Sue, meanwhile, is making love to his mop while washing Mama’s floors and whistling while he works.  Mama Mancia cannot imagine what’s come over her boy.

Irazema turns around and notices a certain sad look now in JAntos’s gaze and says she knows that look; that he and Maria have fought with each other and are on the outs.  He has to admit that he’s been a fool.  (Viewerville seconds that—not putting his foot down with Elvira, preferably on her throat.)  Maria was angry enough to call it quits between them and he’s sure she means it—this time.  If he loses her it would be losing the best thing in his life, he says mournfully.  Ah, laments Irazema, we waste love completely with grudges and spitefulness [rencores].  No she’ll come back to him, assures Irazema.

Vi tells Coloso and the others that with what she’s got planned with JA’s forgotten sombrero, she’s going to put the final nail in the coffin of Maria and JAntos’s relationship.  How?  She’ll make sure that Maria finds out he left it with her after a night of supposed passion by giving it to Amalia directly.

At Maria’s, Amalia tries giving her lovelorn daughter some motherly advice.  Either break it off completely with Jorge Alfredo or accept him as he is, warts (like Elvira) and all.

Meanwhile, Michael heads off to trial and naively proceeds to fall into the prosecuting attorney’s word trap while trying to put his and Santos’s friendship in a positive light.  It wasn’t the $225,000 car apparently, but the $10 million they found in the trunk of it that Michael can’t explain properly.  Michael and his lawyer look at each other like QTH? And, why didn’t you tell me/us?  (Ever heard of full disclosure?  I’d get the lawyer on lousy and inept representation and sue for a mistrial and a retrial so fast it would make his boss’s and the judge’s heads swim.)  He’s given eight long years in prison for his loyalty.

After school that day, Rodrigo and Paloma go spend the rest of the day in the park together.  Vanessa and her posse follow them and try to harass her.  They show what jerks they are by purposely crashing their rubber canoe into Paloma’s and knocking her into the water.  Rod jumps into the shallow pond and saves her.  They do the same to Vanessa and her nasty little girlf’iends—only they have to save each other.  FF>>

Maria tells her friends from the bar on their way to school that she does really believe JAntos’s story.  Lety tells her that the third time’s the charm and to dump his beauteous but two-timing backside for good.  (Thanks for nothin’, girlfriend.)

Santos heads over to Fernando for consolation and advice.  JAntos is ready to turn himself into the authorities and who cares what they do with him.  First thing, says Mil Amores, is to retrieve the sombrero.  Second, is to stop the dramatics.   Third, we suppose, is not to think that he’s all alone in this.  Mil is his carnal, carnalito.  “—Yeah, we are very good friends, but you don’t do anything to help me!”  Ok, well first realize that that vamp Elvira’s got your number dude [tomar la medida=got you pegged] and she’s always getting the better of you, says Mil.  No, argues Santos, I am chivalrous—to extremes like most tn gálans.  [caballero=knight or chivalrous gentleman]  Yeah, jokes Mil, and all you need is some armor!  (Good one, dude!  As in protection from Elvira, right? How about some garlic instead?)  Santos doesn’t laugh.  He’s reached his limit, he laments.  “--Next time….no, there won’t be a next time! Cuz, I’m going to make her pay for everything she’s done.”  Mil snickers in disbelief.  Really? Ok, first thing is to get that hat back and then Mil will act as his witness to his good behavior at the party.

First stop, though, is to a computer site so he can catch up on Michael’s trial news.  Santos thinks to himself that Michael has got to testify against him if he wants to save himself.  He doesn’t care if the guy does condemn him.  He wants his friend to go free.

A while later JAntos and Mil stop by Dani’s apartment asking for the sombrero.  Pam explains that Vi took it home with her.  She calls up Elvira who wants to speak to JA.  JA naively takes her word that he’ll “have the hat back long before he needs it for his performance that night” at Daddy’s club.  Mil and JAntos leave.  Sucker!!!  They start talking in the hall and figure Vi meant giving the hat to him at the boarding house.  Ok, he’s going to get the hat back, so now what’s worrying him, asks Mil?  JAntos says it’s what he read in the L.A. newspapers about his buddy’s trial.  The problem is that Michael is the only one who can swear to the fact that it was Santos’s lawyer himself that advised him to flee the country and become a fugitive.

Gloria, meanwhile, is sitting in her bedroom brush her hair and sadly remembering her nasty encounter with the reluctant and irresponsible de Oscar the Goof.  She prays to the virgencita to help her out of this fix so her son won’t be left without a parent if something happens to her now that she’s beginning her treatments.

Mil Amores tries getting JAntos to eat and forget his sorrows for a while.  JAntos just wants to mope. His problem must be that it’s the first time he’s ever been in love, says Mil.  JAntos is in a snitty mood and tells Mil that he’s only going to fall in love once in his life and that Bonita is that love of his life.  The waitress overhears and remarks “¡Qué bonito amor!”  (¡Salud!)

Maria can’t stop thinking of JAntos and Elvira intertwined on the couch the night before, either.  Finally she gives up on her test and hands in what appears to be a blank test.  (That’s right.  Flunk out and punish yourself because of Elvira’s selfish mischief.  Makes total sense to me….not!)

Back in the barrio, Sue hands El Aventurero a plastic bag with a surprise in it for his girlfriend. Aventurero thinks Sue’s just saying this so the guys in the band will stop giving him such a hard time.  Nope!  He says he really does have a girlfriend and he plans on inviting her to the bar that night!  Well, ok then.  Good for him, too, since the guys all thought he was more than a little bit light in the guaraches, adds Aventurero.   No, swears Sue, she’s such a beauty it’ll knock their socks off and they’ll be eaten up with envy!  El Aventurero has got to promise not to say a word to his mama, Mancia, though.  Okidokie.

Mama Mancia, meanwhile, is giving a tarot reading for anxious Annie who feels something is truly wrong.  She warns Annie that the cards say that if she is determined [empeñada] to follow this love of hers so blindly that her life will be in grave danger.

At the same time, Fernando is on the phone with Rosana whose whole face is now fully black and blue. She’s desperately begging for him to take advantage of her hubby’s leaving the house in order to get her out and hide her at his place—like hubby wouldn’t think of that first?  He promises to come for her once hubby leaves.  JAntos promises to help him with this.  “--You have no idea how bad this brute beats her!  He won’t do it again, though!”

Back in L.A., Guiliano and Bruno are enjoying a bit of unhappy hour as El Gusano Ese pressures Bruno not to just live with Wendy, since that way he doesn’t get to inherit her milliones de dollars.  Bruno insists he’s not with Wendy for her money.  As it is he feels like is white trash, aka, human debris.  Don’t play game with El Padrino!  Marry her and get hold of her millions. Bruno’s going to have to get that money (the ten million?) back, cuz otherwise Wendy’s going for a one-way swim with the fishes!  (Ehhhhh!  And?)

JAntos learns from the news that Michael’s been found guilty and sentenced.  He’s bummed.  He and Fernando get to the bar.  Sue finds him and hugs him.  He tells him he’s so grateful for letting him know love!  The barkeep, Pichi, misinterprets the meaning and hints to JAntos he now thinks that JAntos apparently switch-hits, aka, is batting for both teams.  JA teases and chases him in a supposed moment of hilarity.  JAntos is about to have a swig when he sees Maria enter the bar for rehearsal; but she refuses to speak to him.  El Celoso de Coloso enters and yells at him the obvious, that she doesn’t want to speak to him!    “—Ok, boys!  We’ll rehearse and start with Si Nos Dejan…although it seems Elvira won’t!”  Guffaws break out around the room from the Mariachis at JAntos’s expense.

Ruben walks into the bar just then, to ask Maria’s pardon publicly, the same way she was humiliated at his house, and to pay his bill for the serenade.  He tells her this in front of the band.   It’s what you say here but didn’t say there, adds JAntos.  Fernando seconds this from across the bar.  She accepts the apology politely enough, but the Mariachis refuse to accept his dirty money from Mr. Fir Tree [abetas]—or is it “El Colmo” [thatch/the brim/full to overflowing]—oh, yeah, Mr. Olmo [Elm], they snidely tease. “—Well, aside from the lack of education and upbringing and such as your wife says, we refuse your apologies and your check.  Why don’t you deposit your ‘humaneness’ outside?”  Col says it quite a bit more roughly. “—So go back where you came from!”  Ruben says he’ll handle things with the administrator of the bar whatever accounts I have pending with you all…..(which could be taken any number of ways, I suppose).  He leaves amongst the catcalls.  Col goes over to Maria and says take this as a lesson.  A big wallet doesn’t bring happiness like some people believe….like El Ponchito, say.

A bit later El Sonador is asking Mirna for an advance, but Mirna refuses.  He knows darned well that El Concho doesn’t give out advances.  But it’s for some old lady friend he tries to help out.  Tough tootsies!  Lourdes overhears and walks into the office especially to interrupt her and pull rank.  “—Give him the advance, Mirnita!  Remember this bar is as much mine as his.”   Mirna swallows the hiss and with a fake smile, the fir on her back sky high, says,”--Yes, Sra.” She then asks Mirna where JAntos lives; she gets the directions and says she’ll be back later.  She stops a moment by the door and smiles snootily.  “—Get used to me being here more often.  I have to look out for my investments.”  El Soñador finds Lourdes in the hall and makes a special effort to thank her afterwards.  No problem.  Besides, there aren’t enough caring men in the world who’d do something like that, she tells him.

Lety and El Aventurero meet up in the hallway.  He tells her how pretty she looks today.  She lowers her eyes, embarrassed and thanks him.  He raises her chin so she has to look him in the eyes.  He swallows hard, obviously fighting the mounds of fluttering butterflies in his stomach. “—Don’t lower your gaze.  Don’t ever lower your gaze.”  Wow!  Who knew?

That evening JAntos is dressed and ready to go, but still no sombrero.  There’s a knock on his front door.  “—About time, Elvira!!”  It’s Mama Lourdes there instead, looking like the Big Bad Wolf in drag.  “—Well! As long as it’s Elvira, right?”

Back at the bar,  Mirna’s having a hard time getting El Concho to give in to her (supposedly) seductive kisses.  She asks what’s wrong.  He tells her they’ve got to end their relationship. Cara de what the effing heck did you say de Mirna.

Back at JAntos’s place, JAntos tries to politely explain why he thought it was Elvira at the door, but Lourdes won’t listen.  She says she warned him to steer clear of her daughter, but he insisted the rapist, abusive, poor-as-a-church-mouse slob!  He finally loses patience and yells back that he won’t permit her to insult him in his own house!  She slaps the crap outta him and then accuses him of trying to climb out of poverty by any means he can, and that apparently includes getting involved with her daughter, right?  “—What’s your price, Vargas?  I know all about playboys like you.  How much do you want to forget about my daughter and leave me in peace?”  (Hell, take the money and run, buddy boy!)

Across the street in Maria’s colonia, Elvira knocks on Amalia’s front door.  When Amalia opens it she walks in with JA’s sombrero.  She says he left in in her friend’s apartment after being so overjoyed and excited at seeing her there that he up and forgot it. Cara de yeah- so-why-bring-it-to-my-house-instead-of-the-bar-you-stoooooopid-scheming-wench-de Amalia.  Just at that moment who should appear but la pobre de Maria del Bar-y-Oh!

Corazon Indomable, #5 Friday, 05/17/13 A wedding, a wedding reception, a wedding night…But where is the diamond?

Yesterday Octavio and Maricruz became novios and kissed in front of the village gossips (que escandalo!); Octavio asked Abuelo for Mari’s hand in matrimony; Lucia found out she is pregnant, but the poor baby needs to fight for its life because mom is on the verge of a stroke when she finds out who her SIL will be…

Today…
Outside the hut Solita is helping Maricruz wash her hands as Abuelo notices that a while ago Mari didn’t care that much about being clean. Then he asks her what she’s planning to wear for her wedding. With Moctavio on her shoulders (yey!), Maricruz says that she’ll borrow a neighbor’s daughter quinceanera dress. Abuelo is a little worried because tradition says the father of the bride has to buy the dress, but Maricruz reassures him that Octavio won’t mind, since he knows they don’t have money.

Porque el Amor Manda #50: A Bumpy Ride on the Love Train

Chatita chides Alma and Jesús: Hey, are we workin' or flirtin'? Your butterflies look like turkeys and bats! Hijinks ensue as they dash around painting little cartoons on each other's smocks. This appears to be the home improvement version of the Food Fight -- you know how the couple isn't really in love until they've made a big mess someone else has to clean up. There isn't usually an Alzheimer's patient involved, but hey, modern times.

Lamentation Station

Xoch is crying a river in her apartment, and so is her Mom -- over a telenovela. She tells her real daughter to keep quiet; she can't hear her imaginary friends. After a fraught phone call, Marisela whisks her friend off to  Ricardo's apartment, where the Avon gang has gathered for a sympathy intervention. Even the three sillies are moderately inoffensive, and Julio (of the orange tie and swiveling hips) is absolutely effusive. It seems as if he could have made a play for Xochi any time, but apparently the runny nose and blotchy skin have rendered her particularly attractive. There's a lot of all for one and one for all talk. Xochi wails.

Weekend Discussion: Las Mascotas; Animals in Telenovelas

We don't get enough animals in telenovelas that are characters.  We saw many prize bulls [Salud!] in Amor Bravio, horses in others, but rarely do these animals have names or enough screen time.  Animals are such big parts of many of our lives it's hard to believe that more novela characters don't have pets.  The mascotas in novelas, though, are often amusing and endearing.

In El Cuerpo del Deseo, the hero had a dog who was smart enough to spot his master after his spirit changed bodies (Dog may actually be star Mario Cimarro's dog):

Cuando Me Enamoro had a beautiful horse named Gitana that was much beloved by the heroine:

Qué Bonito Amor #24 (Mex 35.2-36) Thursday 5/16/13 Que Bonita Fiesta…not!

JAntos taunts Colosso from upstairs about the upended water bucket and tosses his hat down to him.  Ponytail mariachi ribs him a bit, then asks Doña Mancia what's up with Susanito--he never showed up for work yesterday.  Mancia's worried since he came home saying he'd been to "heaven" and he had quite a look on his face this afternoon.

Redheaded mean girl calls Ay Jalisco and talks to Mirna to set up the serenate ambush for the evening.   It's gonna be pricey, but Elvira's willing to pay the price.  Mr. 5ft walked through when the Mean Girls were squealing and jumping up and down.  He asked if they won Justin Bieber tickets.  Yes, dear, because women only get that excited at the prospect of Justin Bieber, clearance sales, and revenge.  Aw, crap, ladies, he may have a point.  Tomorrow, when we balance our checkbooks and there's still money left over after paying all the bills on time (crossing my fingers on that one) let's all jump up and down and squeal, ok?

Maria cleans JAntos up a bit and tells him he'd better choose between his love of fighting with Oscar and his love of her, cause one more fight and it is OVER.   I don't think we believe that any more than he does.  Amalia comes in and asks QTH is going on--she heard from Mancia they were fighting outside.  JAntos avoids answering the question by asking if she's able to see again.  Amalia says it's thanks to him…and don't change the subject!  JAntos starts to justify the fight, but Amalia won't tolerate him and Oscar causing scenes. JAntos apologizes and promises it won't happen again.  Amalia says if it does, he won't be welcome in the house.  Maria backs him up on that.  Then she says that's guys for you, they just don't get it.  On behalf of guys,...hey!  Just cause these two are acting like a couple of idiots doesn't mean all guys are like that!

Corazon Indomable, Capitulo 4, Thursday 5-16-13: Fate Places the Pieces on the Board--Let the Game Begin

Recap by La Paloma

(There were many short scenes flipping back and forth.  Some of these may be combined in the recap. I'm going to learn how to make this shorter.)

Gloom and worry
Don Alejandro hears his doctor's advice to slow down and stay away from work for six months, but isn't happy at the prospect.  His heart condition is a sword over his head and he wishes his daughter were at his side.

At the river and multi-purpose watering hole, Maricruz is rising from her plunge into the depths, meeting the worried Solita mid-stream for a happy reunion.  Up at the hacienda's big house, Miguel rushes in, angrily telling Lucia that Octavio learned about the mortgage on the lands.  Opinions are exposed:  Octavio determined that Miguel will pay for this treachery, Lucia telling Miguel "Don't let him win," Miguel saying he will take consequences and begging Lucia to have faith and she'll still have it all.

Octavio enters to ask Lucia if the room is ready for his future wife, which leads to cross-accusations of lying and scheming from both parties. Lucia, with fake smiles, tries to learn more about the wife's social standing and disposition.  Octavio claims he just might marry him one of them lower-class gals, while Lucia smirks about Miguel's love for her and how Octavio's bride needs this kind of love.

Back at the Hut of Humility, Abuelo and Solita are comforting a weeping Maricruz, who confesses her sorrow is due to the news of Octavio's impending marriage.  Abuelo warns her that Octavio might be just foolin' around and she'd better stay away from the ranch.  Sad eyes from MC.
