Yo No Creo En Los Hombres, Capitulo 105 Thurs 12/10/15: There's no sweet end, only the bitter aftertaste

Even after all he’s Done, MD would forgive Daniel (she is Esperanza’s daughter, after all), but then he’d never learn. Looks like she’s already preparing to change the dynamic; Daniel Junior won’t get Ursula remixed in wide-eyed MD. Daniel argues that the thing with Julian was an accident. He would have never tried to hurt her, he didn’t want Julian to die; he was just trying to get the gun away from her. If they stick with that, she’ll get out quickly and they can’t accuse Dan of anything (um…hold up on that second part). No dice with MD; Dan pushed her to the brink, drove her to a point where she felt she had to use a gun. Dan’s lawyer jumps in here to say it’ll take months to prove that, months in which she’ll stay in prison. And for what? Julian’s already dead-CRACK! MD slaps him across the face and yells at him and Dan will pay for everything he’s done to her before stomping off. In response Dan swears she’ll be sorry if she does anything rash.

Antes Muerta Que Lichita #56 Thursday 12/10/15: Lessons Every Telenovela Character Needs to Learn

Rehash of what has happened over the last few episodes but lets get straight to the point:

Alicia is speechless as she sees the "sick" Gumaro standing and acting like this is his everyday norm. He wonders why Alicia is giving him a weird look and she spells it out for him...she has never seen Gumaro in anything but a wheelchair. As he invites her in Gumaro's mouth runs far ahead of his brain. He tells her she must know everything by now since she came for the luggage. She just muffles a yea sure as he yaps away. He tells her she then knows that Beto and Gumaro are not actually brothers and he really is not sick. All of these lies Roberto had to make-up so that he can use her to get into Iconika...because you know he did not know a thing about the being a publicist.  Alicia quietly takes this all in.

Lesson 1: Facial expressions are not adornments and usually mean something.
To understand what a character is feeling just pay attention. An extra bonus is to do
so when they think you are not looking.

In the mansion, Rafael chastises Luciana for verbally harassing her very own cousin. He is very disappointed in her since he feels that they did not raise her to be like this. Both Luciana and Dafne start fighting again and it is not long before Rafael starts clutching his chest. He tells them not to worry, he just needs his pills but cannot remember where he placed them.

Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse #75 Wed 12/9/15 (Mex 104) The weddings approach at the speed of sloth

El lives in some kind of fantasy world and she's horribly offended that Gael would ask such a question about his sainted parents, who she loved dearly and misses.  His mom was awesome and his dad would never have been a "cornudo" (cuckold; dude who was cheated on)  Sure, Os Sr. was a horrible ass who treated his wife badly, BUT THEY LOVED EACH OTHER!

Gi finds the picture of her new jail and is…impressed.  Except that it makes her relationship with Gael more difficult.  Even when Fi points out that she can invite Gael over Gi is not convinced and would rather find out what happened at the dress fitting.  "But I thought if he saw you in your dress…."  Oops!  Backpedal, backpedal, backpedal.  Fi says Pedro's a rock and won't be moved by anyone.  Gi's grateful for everything he has done for them, though, and so Fi agrees she shouldn't be so hard on him.

Antes muerta que Lichita #55 Wednesday 12/10/15

Well, let us just pick up where we left off at the bachelor/bachelorette party where Nestor's "wife" turned out to be part of the entertainment: the stripper. Néstor grabs her by the hand to talk to her in private and it turns out that she is Delia the same girl he hired to play his wife so that his coworkers at Icónika would stop teasing him about being gay. Néstor is mortified that after playing his wife,  Delia would show up as the stripper. As far as she is concerned business is business. She offers to do a "private dance"for him and charge him on the side. That sounds good to him but what will he do afterwards?

At the mansion, Rafael goes to visit Dafne in her room. She is concerned about him taking heart medication. Is he that ill?  He tells her that he needs to take his meds; if not he could end up having a heart attack. She should not worry because that is not going to happen. Dafne examines his pill box which was a gift from his father (her grandfather). He is interested in what she is doing so late on her computer. She is doing research on violence in schools. Just at that moment Beatriz comes in and Rafael informs her that they are talking about bullying. Beatriz gets all weird, like she does, anytime that Dafne might need her help or protection. Dafne puts the pill box back on the desk.

Pasión y Poder #24 Martes 12/8/15

Chapter 24: Paterfamilias

One thing about people with this kind of money and influence that always gets me is the degree to which they retreat into the past. Thus women often put up with infidelity in their husbands, some even endure horrific abuse to some of these megalomaniacs all in the name of status or security. Some of the men have such delusions of grandeur that they fancy themselves as paterfamilias, who were a law unto themselves if they chose to be. They could decree or prevent their children's marriages and divorce. For a while they even could decree their deaths although this was said to have been rare in ancient times.

Antes muerta que Lichita #53 Monday 12/7/15: Two weddings, two wheelchairs

There was actually a lot of rehash last night and I'm skipping it.

Alicia goes to the orphanage to take Mateo a present. They won't let her see him, but they will let her talk to the social worker, Venus. Venus sees her from afar and ducks out - later telling Roberto that Alicia would have recognized her and a whole scandal would have broken out. She reminds him he promised to come clean to everybody every soon and says Mateo's been much more volatile since he started having memories of his mother.

Mateo loves Alicia's present and is delighted she remembered him.

Luckily for Roberto, Marta loses it completely in the courtroom, screaming and saying that Mateo is her Angelito and should be with her. Roberto kindly says the trial should be postponed till she feels better. Turns out this is the third anniversary of her Angelito's death from cancer. Sobbing, she's folded into the car by her sweet but ineffectual husband. She sees Beto talking to his lawyer and bolts to run across the road and almost get run over but is saved by Beto. She starts confusing Beto with God and says, "I begged you to take me instead of him." Shiver.

Roberto and Alicia continue to sulk about their respective upcoming weddings, which due to clerical error are going to happen at the same church on the same day.

The API guys are pleased with Alex and say he's ahead in the voting and his wedding will push him over the top and they wish him "a marriage as good as your parents' is." Eye roll.

There is a big dinner at the mansion. Roberto tries to beg off, Luciana says, "I pretend like the others but I'm worried, I never see you." He shows up after all, with a ring, she makes him get down on his knee, he looks like he's really making an effort to think this could work out. Luciana shows it to everybody. Alicia: "It's almost as lovely as the one you stole from the Duke." Luciana crows about her dress, which is nicer than Angeline Jolie's. Bea says she and Elsa will go with Alicia next day to get her a dress.

Magos is pushing Ximena down the sidewalk in her wheelchair when the gangster supplier appears, offers more merchandise to sell, and gratuitously makes a point of telling Ximena "your mother is a pirate." Magos says she's out of the game. "Your loss," he says and leaves. Magos lies, saying, "he's a liar," but Ximena says: "You think I know nothing? I know your friend Gerry got fired for selling pirated goods and now it turns out it was your fault and he took the fall for you." She chants "I have a mother who's a pirate" all the way home.

The cafe is doing well financially. Elsa and Nacho think Magos will help them more once Ximena recuperates, but Magos says she was thinking of studying something, Alicia had offered to pay. Nacho thinks she'll take the money and skip the studying.

The first commercial for Oki Oki is enthusiastically approved by the client. Alicia and Roberto have their usual fight about who is doing what por interes - to advance careers etc.

After being kissy with Sandra at the office, Augusto goes to some hotel and has sex with Chuchette, who notices the lipstick on his collar and knows he didn't get it at home, but she doesn't care much. She seems to be spying for him a bit and says that Roberto had been pretending to be in love with Alicia. This interests him for some Machiavellian reason.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are being organized. There will be dirty games.

Rafael tells Valeria they have a pretty serious offer for the house, they'll pack up and move to San Miguel. Don Augusto has his henchman call the Buenos Aires real estate agent, he wants to buy Rafael's mansion.

Lastly, after yet another shouting convo with Beto moaning about how he's giving up the love of his life, Gumaro later takes off in his wheelchair to visit Nacho and Elsa at their cafe. To be continued!

Tonight: poor Ez will get a lot of bridal shop to recap I think.

Pasión y Poder #23 Monday 20151207 Arturo Gives Erick and Nina the Finger

Something is wrong with Blogger.  It keeps saying that I logged out and shutting down on me.  I can't make this better.  Sorry.

Telenovela Dictionary:

angry forefinger:  the physical stance in which Arturo Montenegro arranges his body once he has become enraged by the action or words of the idiots in his personal and professional life.  The position consists of Arturo Montenegro entering an moron's personal space, and slightly crouching down while jabbing a extended index finger in an upward motion towards the his or her chin.  At this stage he is normally screaming and pulling out his hair.  This should not be confused with the "I'm about to explode fist".

I'm about to explode fist:  the physical stance in which Arturo Montenegro arranges his body right before he becomes enraged by the action or words of the idiots in his personal and professional life.  The position consists of Arturo Montenegro entering an idiot's personal space, slightly crouching down and lifting a fist with a bent index finger motioning towards the idiot.  While the bent index finger is not yet extended, it is positioned higher that the other fingers.  It is a warning sign to all idiots before he crosses over into the angry forefinger (see above) stage.   In this stage he is still may be attempting to reason with the said idiot, but is beginning to realize that you can't reason with a fool.  Please note, that because they are imbeciles, most of the people in his professional and personal life do not take heed to the warning signs and continue to provoke him into the angry forefinger (see above) stage.

Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #73 Monday, 12-7-15 (Mex 102) In Which Fiorella Finds a Knife Protruding from the Angeles Family Back

Ciao, Patio Peeps!  Are y'all all refreshed from a day away from our dysfunctional bunch of ego-maniacs, vultures, swindlers and sadistic seniors intent on sucking the joy out of young lovers' lives?  Well, let's catch up with the madness in Dos Rios, picking up where we left off.  Pardon the choppiness, I'm going to try to go scene by scene.

Pedro and Gianluca's yelling goes to blows right inside La Dolce Vita:  Pedro is attacking Gianluca for his part in deceiving the poor, dying Vittorio and Luca accuses Pedro of being a typical, cynical rich dude and trying to make Fiorella his personal plaything.  Domingo breaks up the fight and Pedro leaves in a huff.

Pedro arrives at ACorp just after Benigno has signed the papers which form the new fused company headed up by the Ass.  Benigno asks for a list of ACorps customers so as to insure there is no conflict of interest between the two client bases.  Pedro exchanges sharp words with Assvaldo, then leaves with Aitana trailing him.  Benigno and his wife discuss the still lost cell phone.  The whole group toasts the merger.

Yo No Creo en los Hombres #102 Lunes 12/7/15

Chapter 102: Crocodile Tears

Maleny sat in the chair at the desk. She did not look at her mother, her brother, or the two accomplices in the room.
I don't blame you. Now I take in my own hands the only thing I'm grateful you gave me. My life.”
She then raised the pistol to her temple and fired. She fell to the floor, overturning the chair.
Úrsula's jaw dropped and she cried out. Danny-Boy began to cry. Jacinto froze. His eyes bugged out. Arango closed his eyes in pain.
You didn't do this. It was Daniel!” Úrsula cried. “It was Daniel.”
Daniel ran out. Isidro entered the room and stopped dead.

Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse #72 Thu 12/3/15 (Mex 101) The things we do for love

In the midst of the refrito, a detail catches my ear…Gael says that none of the Angeles can get thrown out of the house until Eloisa's will is completed.  Funny how they keep making up new rules for why they're all stuck living together.

Fi's latest argument with Gianluca ends with a demand that he never kiss her again.  Boo!

Ramiro gets all dressed up and goes to La Dolce Vita to check out Diana…and he makes it clear to Domingo that he is, indeed, checking out Diana (busy flirting with Vitto).  Vitto even wanders over, giving Ramiro the chance to say that the meal is excellent, and oh by the way, that woman over there is his neighbor who he has the hots for.  She doesn't know they're neighbors but he watches her all the time…with her son.  Well, Vitto is convinced Beto is her nephew, so that gets Ramiro nowhere.  He breaks it to Ramiro that Diana's spoken for…ohh, not by him!  He's an honorable lech…er, leech…er, man who's about to get married.  Fake-sad Ramiro asks for the check.

Pasión y Poder #22, Thursday, December 3, 2015: The Fall of Erick Montenegro. (And it's SO not fair!)

A Foundation of Cruelty  – The Letters

Eladio takes the crumpled paper out of Julia's hands, smooths  it out, and realizes it's a letter from Arturo.  So she's still seeing him!  Julia protests.  That letter is 20 years old!

In Eladio's eyes, that's even worse.  She has kept Arturo's letters with the photos of her precious son, and after all those years, she is still moping over them.

Julia says she was cleaning house – she was going to get rid of the letters.

"Since you were going to tear up the letters," he says, snatching the small bundle out of her hand, "I'll help you."

He rips each page deliberately, his eyes on Julia's face. Now he looks down at the pieces on the floor.  "And if you ever have anything to do with Arturo Montenegro again..."
