ReplyDelete#87 part 1
Slight rewind: The Ihsanlis are at the Sanlis for iftar.
Ifakat tells Sultan to take care of Halis as much as possible. She wants Halis to realize he doesn’t need Latif.
Zerrin calls Ifakat. Zerrin says Ferit and Pelin met. He told her he’d never get divorced. You said he’d do what his grandfather wanted him to do. Are you sure? I am, Ifakat replies, but if you want a guarantee, call Nukhet. Zerrin is puzzled. Why would I call her? What would I say? Ifakat answers, tell her to send her son to Türkiye. Zerrin asks, what does Nukhet’s son have to do with my daughter?
Ifakat explains, Ferit knows he’s his grandfather’s favorite. And he knows his older brother could never compete with him. But if Nukhet sends her son, things could get complicated. Ferit Efendi will be forced to accept in order to remain his grandfather’s favorite. Zerrin absorbs this info.
Ferit comes to see Halis. Ferit asks grandpa how he’s doing. Halis says he’s fine and asks Ferit, is there something you want to say to me? Perhaps there’s something you want to say to me, Ferit answers, you asked Pelin to come today. Is that true? Halis says yes. I wanted to meet the girl who came into the middle of our lives. I don’t know what you talked about, Ferit says, but I don’t want to marry Pelin.
Did you forget you’re already married, Halis replies, let’s get this divorce done and then we’ll talk about this. If you allow me, Ferit says, I’d like to say something in regards to that topic. I’d like this process to go slower. I’m not saying it shouldn’t happen, but could we wait a bit longer? As you know, things can suddenly change in these situations. Seyran still has my last name. Now that Seyran is gone, you asked Pelin to come and talk. It doesn’t seem like behavior worthy of our family.
Halis loses his patience. Are you the one who decides what suits this family and what doesn’t? Are you joking? Estağfurullah, Ferit replies. Halis answers, let’s say that you’ve lost your senses out of love. Halis approaches Ferit. Ferit takes a couple of steps back. He’s probably expecting a slap.
Halis continues, do you have any sense of dignity left? You are the grandson of Halis Korhan. For us, honor and manliness come first. While I still feel the sting of the slap you received yesterday on my cheek, don’t even think about going back on what we talked about yesterday. If I said it’s over, that’s it. Don’t come to this door again without knowing your place. Now get out of my sight. Ferit leaves.
Suna is creeped out by the way Tarik keeps staring at Seyran. Seyran says she’s noticed it too and it’s weird. They are all weird, Suna notes. Saffet isn’t normal but Tarik’s even worse. Hopefully we can get rid of them, Seyran replies. She peeks around the kitchen corner, meets Tarik’s gaze and quickly pulls back.
Suna worries, someday they’ll take me with them, you know that, right? I’m scared. Are they all crazy? The mother is very weird, too. God protect us. Seyran says to stay calm. They just came to meet us. We still have time.
Kazim asks Saffet Sr, what will happen to the inn you have in Antep? Saffet answers, we never go or stay there. It’s obvious it would pass down to the generations. Let’s do this. It will be my small wedding gift for your daughter, Suna. Kazim perks up. Seriously, Ağa? This is excellent news! What a great man you are! [it’s not so excellent for the rest of Kazim’s family.] Kazim jumps up, ready to kiss Saffet’s hand.

ReplyDelete#87 part 2
Saffet stops Kazim. First, let’s make our intentions clear. The reason for our visit is obvious. As is customary, and in accordance with the will of Allah and the words of our Prophet, we ask for your daughter Suna’s hand for our son, Saffet. Hattuc speaks up, what is this, Saffet Ağa? Didn’t you come here to meet us? Where did this proposal come from? Saffet replies, as the elders of our families, we already know each other, Hattuc Hanim. She makes a sour face.
Saffet continues, the engagement is for our children to know each other better. Kazim nods in agreement. If we ask for your blessing, the rest is in your hands. The sisters are horrified. Saffet Jr is excited. Tarik stares at Seyran. Esme is worried for her daughter. Kazim exclaims, of course you have our blessing! We gave it! Saffet Jr pops up from his seat—I already brought the rings with me just in case! Kazim tells Esme to get the tray and the scissors. Hurry!
Esme tells the dazed Suna to come to the kitchen and drink some water. She asks Seyran to get the scissors from her room, while she gets the tray.
Tarik asks for the bathroom. He crosses paths with Seyran returning from her room. He doesn’t let her pass. He stares her down and says, you have beautiful eyes. She says they are waiting for her in the living room—will you step aside? He blocks her way with an arm against the wall, then places his other arm to back her against the wall. He asks, and if I don’t?
Seyran holds the scissors up to Tarik’s neck and threatens, could you please move aside? Tarik doesn’t budge and Seyran presses the scissors into his neck just enough for him to understand. Tarik lifts his hands off the wall and Seyran quickly leaves.
The tray is ready. Suna sobs in the kitchen. Don’t cry, daughter, Esme says, don’t do this. They’ll hear you. We can’t do anything. You know what happened to your sister. It doesn’t matter how much you resist, we can’t defy fate. Don’t make us sad, too. We’ll all suffer. Come, my beautiful daughter. Esme heads off to the living room.
Seyran tells her sister, Suna, you must run. Run away! Suna is shocked. Seyran says, it’s your only option. You won’t get another chance. That family is not normal. If Dad knows you don’t want to do it, he’ll lock you up! Please run! How can I run now, Suna asks, where would I go? What would happen? Why are you so scared? Seyran has a flashback to Tarik trapping her in the hall. She begs Suna to run. I’ll find a way to distract them, okay? Kazim calls the girls to the living room.
A childhood flashback. Kazim calls his daughters and comes upstairs. The girls stand in fear. Kazim brings an older woman upstairs. He introduces the girls to her. The woman says that the girls are too young. Kazim doesn’t want to hear it. In my grandfather’s time, girls four or five years older than Suna would get married. I assure you we are in a hurry. I want you to teach them to talk in a way that would make anyone think they were born and raised in Istanbul. [Now we know why the sisters don’t speak with the Antep accent.] I want them learning all the customs and traditions of Istanbul, but without forgetting that their own customs and traditions are the correct ones.
Kazim continues, I will answer for my daughters. I’m sure they’ll behave well. But if they don’t behave, don’t spare them punishment. You can punish them whenever you want. But don’t leave visible marks on their bodies. That’s important. Esme comes upstairs and says the governess’ room is ready. He sends the woman with Esme.

ReplyDelete#87 part 3
Kazim stays behind with the girls. Do you see? Since you are girls, I hired a private tutor for you. So, you should be grateful to your father. Listen, if I see you don’t take advantage of this opportunity, or if I find out you’re not behaving, I will tie you up and give you a beating. Hear me? He grabs Suna’s chin—daughter, you are the oldest. If you don’t behave, and set a bad example for your little sister, remember what happened on the terrace? Remember the iron bar? I’ll hang you upside down, don’t forget that. Good. Be scared. Fear is good. Fear will protect you and your sister from beatings. End flash.
Seyran continues to beg Suna to run. Suna cries and shakes her head. No, I can’t. I can’t avoid this. Don’t be scared, okay? The sisters hug and cry. It’s our fate, Suna says, we have to accept. We can’t do anything. The sisters hug, then head to the living room.
Song: Derinlerde/Deep Within - Cem Adrian & Mark Eliyahu
YouTube with English translation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_GdfuW2ZXA
As the song plays, we see Ferit sketching Seyran’s face interspersed with Suna’s engagement ceremony. Suna quickly takes Abi’s ring off her finger. Tarik keeps his eyes on Seyran.
Halis receives a text: Grandfather, I’m going to work in Istanbul. If you allow me, I’d like to come and visit you. Looks like Halis has some mixed emotions.
Kazim tells Saffet, if I knew then what I know now, I would have sold everything and moved to Istanbul much sooner. Things are different here, Saffet says, the wealth, the opportunities, everything is here in the big city. But only our homeland can save us, Kazim.
Seyran serves sweets to the men. Saffet continues, a while ago you said there was trouble between the families, and the marriage of this poor girl and her husband ended. It’s obvious it’s over. Kazim replies, you understood the situation very well, ağa. Right now, we have a serious problem. I haven’t decided yet. It’s still unclear if the kids will get divorced. This is just the sad expression on her (Seyran’s) face.
Saffet tells Kazim there’s a way out. The daughter of a man like you won’t remain single, even if she’s divorced. Seyran serves Tarik but avoids his gaze. Do you think so, Kazim asks. He notices Tarik looking at Seyran. Saffet asks, what did the Korhans give for your younger daughter? Kazim replies, some land on the Bosphorus, this apartment, two apartments in the hometown, and two summer homes, one on the Mediterranean, one on the Aegean. [wow!]
Saffet offers, if you decide to abandon that family, I’ll give you much more for the single and the divorced one. It makes no difference. Neither you nor your daughters will ever have to suffer again. Do you mean it, Kazim asks, that would be great. Seyran hears this and panics in the kitchen. She grabs her phone and heads out on the balcony. Three guesses who she calls and the first two don’t count. She calls Ferit, who is sound asleep because he took a sleeping pill.
Meanwhile, Sultan sneaks into Ferit’s room and sits next to him in bed. She sees his phone light up but Ferit doesn’t wake. She settles in and brushes her face on his hand. She brushes his face with her hand. Another call comes in. Ferit continues to sleep. There’s a noise from the balcony. Sultan turns to look. Pelin enters the room. [This was the end of Turkish ep 28 out of first season 36.]
Shocked Pelin asks, what are you doing here? What’s going on? Sultan jumps out of the bed and fumbles to close up her uniform. Ferit wakes up—Pelin? Sultan? Pelin is ticked. What is this woman doing in your bed? Have you fallen this low? Sultan stammers, it’s not what you think.

ReplyDelete#87 part 4
Ferit is groggy as he gets up. What woman in my bed? I don’t understand. Sultan, what are you doing in my room? Pelin says, when I came in, she was on the bed, lying next to you! Sultan explains, I knocked on the door a couple of times, but you didn’t answer. I thought you might be sick, Ferit Bey, that’s why…
Ferit rushes Sultan, grabs her by the throat and pushes her against the door. Tell me! What were you doing here?! Sultan! She explains again—I thought you were sick. He tightens his grip and starts to choke her. He asks, and if Pelin didn’t come in? What if Seyran had come in? Pelin becomes alarmed. Ferit? Wait! She tries to pull Ferit away from Sultan. Ferit demands an answer but Sultan can’t speak.
Pelin shouts—let her go! You’re going to kill her! Stop! She separates them. Calm down. Maybe I’m wrong and she’s telling the truth. Sultan is coughing and trying to catch her breath. Ferit’s phone rings. He sees that it’s Seyran, but he shuts it off. He turns to Sultan—get out of here, we’ll talk later. She tries to speak but he shuts her down—get out! Now!
Seyran asks Suna, did you hear what they were saying? Suna says yes. When I heard, I had to run to the bathroom, it made me sick to my stomach. How can they talk like that? How dare they say that? They know you’re married! Stop with this divorce. Seyran shakes her head no. It won’t be possible. I called Ferit. He didn’t answer.
I beg you, Suna says, Ferit needs to know this. Seyro says it’s impossible. It will hurt. He’ll say “I told you so” [yes, he warned her it would be different this time.] I can’t do it. I’ll handle it myself. Suna says, look, you have time. You have to save yourself, please. She holds up her red ribbon. Look, I can’t but you can. Run! Esme comes to get the girls. Our guests are leaving. Come back to the living room. Don’t let your father ask.
Ferit says his head is spinning. He says that Sultan is crazy. She had a husband. He left. After that, she went completely out of control. It’s obvious. Pelin wonders, how can we know? Maybe she’s telling the truth, but I don’t know if you are. She was in your bed. What are you insinuating, he asks, are you going to interrogate me now? If you’re curious, it’s because of you that I can’t sleep without taking medication, okay?
Pelin is surprised. You’re taking meds? Ferit jumps up—what business is it of yours if I take meds to sleep or not? What’s it to you? What are you doing in my house at this hour? Have you also gone crazy? I came to talk to you, she replies. You came to talk to me, he asks, do you know what time it is? If you wanted to talk, there’s the phone, Pelin. Where are you now? Explain why you’re in my room! Go on, get out before someone sees you. He gives her a push towards the balcony.
Wait, Pelin says, I’m worried. I want to know what happened with your grandpa. What’s it to you, Ferit replies, what happens between us is none of your business. You and your mother… what are you trying to do? I haven’t done anything, she answers, I heard my mother talking. She said your Aunt Nukhet and her son are coming to Istanbul.
Ferit asks, what cousin are you talking about? What aunt? I don’t understand. What does your mother have to do with them? Pelin answers, they know each other from London. Ifakat Hanim knows this. Only you don’t know. My mother never hid it. Ferit is exasperated. I don’t care about my aunt and my cousin at all. No one in this house thinks about them. If they come to live here, they can. I don’t care! Understand?

ReplyDelete#87 part 5
Things aren’t like that, Pelin says. Ferit says that’s enough and he tells her again to get out. He pushes her towards the balcony. Get out! She fights back. Ferit, I’m not joking! I came here to do you a favor. You have to see reason. You had problems with your grandpa because of that girl. Soon another grandson is coming. Your grandpa will pick him in place of you. I got worried. I know my mother. That conversation can’t be a coincidence.
Ferit laughs. Well done! I congratulate you! But the last thing I want to know is what your mother thinks. Your mother talks at home, and then you run here to tell me, and you expect me to be grateful, right? Don’t even dream it! Forget it! You know your mother, but I know you both very well. What did you think? What did you expect? That if you came here and told me this, I’d be scared and see you differently? Well, you’re wrong! I want you and your mother to stay away from my life. Stay far away!
Pelin insists that she’s doing this for him. Ferit shouts—I don’t want you to do anything for me! No one asked you. No one here worries about me, and I don’t want you to either! Okay? Enough! Get out! This time Ferit manages to push her out and asks God to give him patience.
Kazim notes, this Saffet Ihsanli is a crude fellow, right? He’s rude, but he speaks the truth to us. Halis Korhan smiles at us, but he talks behind our backs. Don’t speak so arrogantly, Hattuc warns, it’s possible that Seyran and Ferit decide to surprise us all and reconcile. Kazim snaps back—it’s over and done with! The lawyers are already working. They will divorce and Seyran already has a new suitor.
Don’t say that, Hattuc replies, they are still married, what suitor are you talking about? Saffet Aga wants Seyran for his older grandson, even if she’s divorced. He said he’d do all he could to marry her to him. That man has a great heart. Hattuc gives a strenuous objection. No! You can’t allow it! You’ve practically turned that girl into a commodity for the market. Should she be put on display at the stall? What’s the rush before the older one even gets married?
Kazim gets annoyed. What’s going on? Don’t raise the dust! Let me tell you Sanlis, if I says it’s over, it’s over! We have lawyers! The decision has been made. They will get divorced! Listen Auntie, please understand. We have to allow this marriage so the Korhans won’t talk about us after the divorce. I want to avoid that!
Seyran approaches her father, Dad, don’t do it. After what happened, I can’t get married, please. Kazim replies, after what happened, there’s a man interested in you and now you’re against it? He jumps of the couch and is ready to attack Seyran. Hattuc intercedes—Shame on you, Kazim Ağa! Shame! I won’t allow it this time! I’m your elder!
Kazim shouts back—I’m a grown man, too! You’re older than me, but I’m big enough for everyone! I’m an ağa! An ağa! Hattuc replies, that means nothing. What are you talking about, he yells, something is wrong but I’m the one who knows how to fix the situation! Everyone should know their place! Listen to me! Look at me! Be grateful my father entrusted you to me. Pray, otherwise… God knows… you’d be with him now!
Hattuc feels faint and the others rush to her side. Kazim continues to rage. I’ve given you everything you have, including money! Am I going to ask you who I should give her to and who I shouldn’t? Seyran tries again. Dad, I can’t marry anyone else, please. Do you want to die, Kazim responds, or do you want to me to die? [that’s an idea.]

ReplyDelete#87 part 6
Kazim isn’t finished yet. Seyran! Look at me! You will do what I tell you! If I tell you to eat, you will! If I tell you to drink, you will! If I tell you you’re getting married, you will! You will obey! That’s how you lived, and that’s how you’ll die! I’m the one who decides the rules in this house! You should get ready! Two brides are leaving this house because I say so! He leaves the room.
Ferit sneaks into the servants’ quarters and into Sultan’s bedroom while she’s asleep. He very carefully gets on the bed and clasps his hand over her mouth. She startles awake and tries to scream. Don’t talk, he whispers, shut up. How does it feel to be surprised in bed, Sultan? Look at me. If I find out you told anyone Pelin was in my room, I’ll tear you to pieces. Understood? He removes his hand from her mouth.
Sultan gasps for air. Look, Ferit, when you asked me to withdraw my complaint against Abidin, I told you what my conditions were. Now, if you don’t want me to tell your wife that you’re seeing Pelin again or any other woman, if you don’t want me to say a single word, if you want me to tell you information, everything should be like before.
Ferit grabs Sultan by the chin. Or what, he responds, or what, Sultan? What will you do? I prefer to leave you in doubt, she answers, you can imagine it. I think your imagination is much better. Ferit backs off the bed. My patience is gone, he says, I’m warning you, so think well. He turns to go and she stops him. She gets really close. I have nothing to think about, she says, you heard me? I won’t do it. Why don’t we do this instead. From now on, you’ll be the one who thinks it over, not me.
Ferit pushes her back on the bed. Get away from me! He slips out the door. Sultan is pleased with herself. Ferit walks out but he doesn’t see Dicle in the kitchen she cries as she sees Ferit leave. Not sure how much she heard or saw.
The sisters go to their room. Suna exclaims—Dad lost his mind! He’s gone too far this time! He wants to sell us! He wants to sell you while you’re still married! How could he do this? He doesn’t listen to us. We’re his daughters! Since when has he listened to us, Seyran replies. Suna asks, you’ll tell Ferit, right?
What will I tell Ferit, Seyran answers, what will I tell him? That my father wants me to marry someone before I get divorced? I don’t know, Suna says, but Ferit could help you. He could stop it. He can do something. He has to stop you from getting married against your will. At least he can stop the divorce! Then Dad can’t make you marry someone else!
Seyran is adamant, she doesn’t want Ferit’s help. I don’t want his kindness or compassion, understand? Besides, I was the one who wanted to get divorced. I’m not going back to him and I’m not marrying that boy either. Ah, you’re not getting married, Suna mocks, well if it’s so easy, why don’t you tell me what to do? Please, you have to help me. Don’t you see our situation? Don’t you understand what’s happening? The sisters hold each other and cry.
And we are out.

ReplyDeleteHowdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's my super-short recap of last night's episode & it'll be super-short.
*Aurelio & Consuelo have sex. I have a pet peeve: Consuelo needs to get rid of that STUPID choker on her neck.
*Romina better hope she doesn't get busted by Hothead Diana & Co., although I think they know she's with DEA.
*Rutila & Aurelio having one of those father & daughter talks.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the great recap Dondi. I’ll start on #88 for Friday-Saturday.
Sultan is playing with fire. She needs to move on and leave Ferit alone. I was so worried he would wake up and take her up on rekindling their past relationship. It was funny that Pelin found them and ended Sultan’s plans. Way too much traffic up in the yali attic!
Interesting Kazim had the girls educated to Istanbul standards. He’s been planning to use them to get ahead. He’s quite a schemer. And a disgusting father. I was glad Hattice stood up to him a little. Those four women could have plotted against him to stop the abuse. Wasn’t Hattice funding him from her inheritance until Seyran married a Korhan?
Tarik is scary. Marriage to Junior is going to be strange for Suna. Like a little kid with a temper. Maybe Suna can gain some power if she manages Junior carefully. Awful, but Tarik is the dangerous one.
Thanks again!

Series 2, episode 34 - part 1
"En Cuerpo Y Alma" (Body and Soul)
Impactful episode. We find out who is really behind some murders, and Cihan and Alya finally consummate their relationship.
The episode opens replaying the last few minutes of Boran's hearing. Nadim says that Boran did not kill Suleyman. Boran is ordered released. The family is upset because Ecmel is the one that got Boran released, and now Boran will be beholden to Ecmel, who is the one who tried to kill Boran. Cihan tells the family that the deciscion to forgive Ecmel for his attempt on Boran's life belongs to Boran, not the rest of them.
Once outside, Nadim asks Ecmel - "What you know won't come to light, right?" Ecmel says "The secret is mine now. I don't guard secrets, I use them." Ecmel says to Nadim "The son of the thug that you hired to kill your brother (Suleyman) was in jail. But now he is out. I got him to tell me everything." [So Nadim hired a thug to kill Suleyman. That's how he knows Boran didn't kill Sul. Nadim said Boran killed Sul to make a deal with Cihan. {To get Cihan to marry Seyda, instead of Demir.}] Ecmel continues "I know all your tricks - about how you hired the father thug years ago to murder Azem Albora. [ So, Nadim is behind both deaths: Azem first, Suleyman. Nadim publically blamed Suleyman for Azem's death.] Ecmel knew, or found out, that Nadim had contracted to have Azem killed. Ecmel is holding the thug's son out in the countryside. Ecmel calls and gives the word, and Ecmel and Nadim watch through the phone as the thug's son is shot in the head. Ecmel says that Nadim saved Boran, and Ecmel saved Nadim by shooting the sicario's son, thus burying the secrets.
Boran is down in his jail cell, waiting for the release paperwork. Ecmel goes down to see him, and Ecmel emphasizes that he is the one who got him released. Boran is not happy with that, because Ecmel had tried to kill him. Ecmel is trying to get influence over Boran because Ecmel has lost Sahin.
Cihan brings Boran back to the mansion. Deniz greets Boran with a smile, but then wants to play with Papa Cihan or with Pakize, not Boran. Boran asks about Alya. She is not there to greet Boran because she is at work.
Lejos de Ti, 8/31/2026, S2e34 - part 2
ReplyDeleteAlya is doing a medical talk (and conscious-raising session) to the women of a neighboring village. Cihan drives over to the village to pick her up. Coming back that evening, they encounter the highway blocked. The gendarme tells them that there has been an bad accident, and it will take several hours to clear it. Alya is tired, so they decide to turn around and go to a hotel.
Once at the hotel, Cihan gets them two rooms. They both linger in saying good night together, as they both really want to be together. They both start drinking alcohol in their respective rooms. Alya takes her glass of wine outside to the patio. She can see Cihan sitting near his window. She throws down a bud vase that was on the table, so the noise of the crash will get Cihan to look out the window. He sees her and comes down to the patio. She acts the drunk, and Cihan carries up to her room.
Once in Alya's room, they both have the urge to be romantic. They say lovely things to each other and rub noses (to avoid the censors). They affirm that they are each other's spouse. Alya continues to be playful and decides that they should get in the shower together with their clothes on. (Again, to show playfulness in line with the censorship.) Cihan turns her 90 degrees so his back is to the camera, and kisses her. The show goes to commercial.
The next morning, Alya and Cihan are shown in bed together, undressed with the covers pulled up. They agree that they don't repent their actions of the night before. (Except that their clothes are still wet.) Alya states that they have now begun their life together for real. They had their first night together. She says that without Boran coming back, they would not have gotten together. They would still be mired in their guilty consciences. Boran's selfishness and Boran's indifference to their feelings, Boran's never having asked them how the last year went has cured them of feeling guilty. Boran doesn't realize that he pushed Cihan and Alya together or understand the probable consequences of his video request that they marry after his death.
Back at the mansion, Sadakat and Boran are upset because they can't reach Cihan and Alya. Both have their phones off. Boran is upset that Kaya goes ahead and eats. Boran is upset that Umu is serving food, so he upends her tray of food onto the floor. Kaya says "Why are you upset? Cihan called last night and said they were staying in a hotel." (So they are safe.) Boran says that Alya can't stay in the same hotel because Alya is Boran's wife. Kaya reminds Boran that Alya and Cihan are married by Boran's (video) choice. Boran yells at Boran to accept that Cihan and Alya are together. Sadakat wants C&A to split up. Kaya says that Sadakat hopes for too much.
Alya and Cihan realize that little Deniz back at the mansion must be wondering about them, and they realize that everyone else is wondering where they are. Cihan says they need to wait until their clothes are dry, or get dry clothes from the hotel clerk. Alya wonders what they should do next. Cihan has a solution. Alya needs her own house. She can't stay where Boran is. Luckily the Albora have a country house. Cihan will leave her there, and go get Deniz...and Pakize. (Ojala this happens, but I anticipate some pushback.)
Lejos de Ti, 8/31/2026, S2e34 - part 3
ReplyDeleteDemir goes to see Nadim, and they talk outside. Demir asks Nadim "How could you free Boran?" Nadim claims that it's the truth, that Boran did not shoot Suleyman. Ecmel, nearby, overhears this. After Nadim leaves, Ecmel goes up to Demir and tells Demir not to get crazy, or Ecmel will take away Zerrin. Although neither one of them knows where Zerrin is at that point, Ecmel says they will find her soon.
Alya and Cihan go to the house in the country. It is the ranch with the little pony that Deniz rode on last season. Alya likes the house. And it is relatively close to the hospital.
Ecmel telephones Boran. He tells Boran that Demir won't bother him with accusations about Suleyman. Ecmel tells Boran that Ecmel is the only one who thinks of Boran and works for him.

ReplyDeleteWow Anastasia, you untangled that whole Nadim thing. I don’t get his motives. Why did he kill Cihan’s dad? Why did he kill his own brother? It seems to me he’s been the one who thinks the two families should work together. What’s he up to?
I was starting to wonder how Turks reproduced, Alya and Cihan having not consummated their marriage until now. The whole idea that they’ve held off due to guilt seems very thin. They were legally married! They thought Boran was dead.
And now we get the shower scene but with clothes on. And when they wake up, they’re chastely apart, not cuddling.
Say, did Ecmel or anybody ever actually tell
Boran that Ecmel’s his dad? If not he must be wondering why Ecmel keeps calling him hijo.
My eyeballs were so glad to see actual trees at the hotel. Some green!

DeleteYes - I was surprised Nadim was behind the deaths. I watched that explanation with English subtitles today. I agree that it doesn't seem in character with last season's depiction of Nadim. I suppose he wanted to be topdog in this region. I imagine both Suleyman and Nadim are older than he.
Boran was told by Sadakat and the family that Ecmel was his father.
It can be funny to see how romantic couples work around Turkish censorship. I bet Uzak Sehir got fined for the Cihan-Alya kiss at the airport last season.
Speaking of procreation, I wouldn't be surprised if Alya got pregnant last night. It would be a fun twist while Boran is trying to get her back. And Zerrin's baby, Nare's baby and Alya's baby would be cousins near the same age - fun for them. Along with Deniz.
Lejos - Correction - Imagíne Suleyman and Azem were older than Nadim.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Anastasia, for the recap. Somehow, I missed that Nadim had Suleyman and Azem killed. Why didn't he want Demir to marry Seyda?
Also, why did Ecmel want to kill Boran? To take control of Albora after Azem died? Didn’t he think Cihan would take over?
Such a tangled web!
Every time Cihan and Alya declare their eternal love and talk of the future, I get so anxious that it's a foreshadowing of Cihan dying. He has a bad heart, after all.
In true novela fashion, Alya will probably get pregnant after one time. I hope Cihan lives!
Boran acts like an ultra conservative traditional husband, bossing Alya around. I'm sure he wasn't like that in Canada. He is scary crazy. Unhinged.
Do you know if this the last season of Lejos and how many episodes are left?

ReplyDeleteThanks, Anastasia. Excellent recap, as always.
I didn't think Nadim was that bad of a guy, especially since he's seen Demir for the obsessive freak that his son is. So Boran is innocent of killing Suleyman. In light of what we've seen of him thus far, maybe that isn't a surprise. The selfish Boran we've seen since he was introduced would have been unlikely to avenge his "father's" death. OTOH he must have taken credit for it at the time because the family knew he was in exile in Canada and seemed to believe he'd done it.
"Boran asks about Alya." He doesn't just ask about Alya; he glowers and demands to know where she is.
I loved Kaya reminding Boran that Cihan and Alya are married because he recorded that video. Of course, he knows his brother Cihan is honorable and probably thought it would be a marriage in name only.
The women in the village where Alya gave her talk and, I think, other help mostly wore hijab. Except for Sadakat, most of the women in this dizi do not. Are we to surmise that it's more common in rural areas?
Yep, we assume those censors are always watching. Getting in the shower clothed was an odd choice. When we saw Nare and Sahin on their wedding night, they both just leaned back onto the bed and...time for a commercial. But I am happy that Cihan and Alya are lovers. Will there be another child?

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, dondi, for the fine recap. As I said, I am watching, sort of with the inability to turn away from a train wreck. We are subjected to scene after scene of monstrous Kazim. I noted your "wow" at what he sold Seyran for. I did wonder about it being said he got the apartment in Istanbul. I thought I remembered an earlier rupture between Ferit and Seyran when Esme was packing up. It seemed then that the Korhan's owned the place and were only allowing them to live there.
Seyran just keeps shooting herself in the foot. Reconciling with Ferit would solve all her problems. She did try to call him once but got back on her high horse immediately.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Anastasia.
I’ll take their word for it that CihAl did the deed. That’s all folks. No internet special. Yes, there’s censorship in Türkiye but this is ridiculous. They can show a kiss. Alya and Cihan are a mature couple, adult actors. If you watch Golden, Seyfer have had a couple of steamy kissing scenes (airport and cabin). The production wasn’t fined, although for broadcast they were slightly edited for length. The full scenes are posted on YouTube. I suppose this works for the Anatolian Aunties but not for me. Of course, YMMV, and I respect other opinions.
novelera, I was wondering too, did Cihan hit the bullseye? Baby Albora loading?
As for who killed whom, it’s very confusing. It doesn’t make sense to me. We know that Ecmel was behind Azem’s killing. The Baybars were blamed, Suleyman was framed by Nadim, and he hired the hit on his brother. Yes, why did Boran run to Canada? He let his family think he killed Suleyman. There’s something more to this. Is Boran involved in some conspiracy?

ReplyDeleteFor those curious, we are at Turkish episode 43 out of 63. That was the end of the second season in Türkiye. The third season is starting on Sept 14. It's likely to run a full season ending June 2027. Second season maintained high ratings and the international sales have been very good.

ReplyDeleteI was very disappointed in one sense when I learned the other day that there was a season 3 of Uzak Sehir. That means they don't wrap story lines up this season. On the other hand, I could watch the Cihan and Alya actors forever, in some kind of domestic drama. Their chemistry is off the charts! Hope it's only acting, as one or both of them are married IRL. Add in the domestic story lines of Kaya and Zerrin (she was so beautiful when she was relaxed last week), and Nare and Sahin. If we get Nadim and Ecmel to kill each other off, and send Demir to, say, Izmir, then Sadakat and Fidan can relax and be friends and grandmothers together. I can certainly understand why this show is so popular. It's one of my favorites. That and "Todo por mi Hija" (Kizim) with young Oyku - even my husband liked that show. (I had to translate.)
lejos
ReplyDeleteYes, Ozan Akbaba is married and has a young son. Sinem Ünsal is not married but in a relationship. Some viewers think this is the reason for the lack of intimate scenes.
I could do without Sadakat. She's a cold blooded murderer and a cruel mother. Let Sada and Ecmel kill each other. Fidan is great. She's comic relief. Even funnier in Turkish. I wish they would show more of the staff, they are great, too.
I enoyed Kızım/Todo por mi Hija. We recapped that here. Sinem Ünsal was in that one. She was Oyku's teacher.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments, Babachita and novelera.
The Sanlis might regret getting involved with Saffet. Kazim is an idiot who is blinded by dollar signs. It puzzles me why Halis and Hattuc allowed this to happen. They wouldn’t have to “out” their past, they could just have said they disapprove of the Ihsanlis and end it.
As for the Istanbul apartment, IIRC Kazim complained to Halis and he fixed that. Halis was giving away the store because of Hattuc.
Ah, Seyran, ah, "Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall”.

ReplyDeleteMartes - Part 1 of 3
This was an episode in which your recapper’s hand itched so many times to go upside Sadakat’s head! The woman is like a pestilence.
We see a rerun of Ecmel telling Boran he’s the only one looking out for him. My guess is 80% odds that Boran unites with his bio dad against Cihan.
Cihan comes home to a rant from his mother and a jealous outburst from Boran. He almost strikes Cihan, but Kaya and Sada get between them. He orders Cihan to tell Alya to come in. Cihan tells him that Alya won’t be living there until the legal stuff is sorted out. Sada thinks this is a good idea, and Boran asks if she’s siding with Cihan. Cihan tells him that Deniz also won’t be coming back. Boran forbids it. Cihan plays the child with its mother card. He goes on to say that Boran can see Deniz whenever he likes.
As Cihan is about to take Deniz to his mother, both Boran and Sadakat beg the boy to stay. Deniz himself shuts this down. Please, papa, my mother is there. Boran tells Cihan he’ll see him in court. After Deniz is in the car, Cihan tells Boran that a child ought to be with its mother. And, if you don’t know about motherhood, there’s your mother. Ask her.
After Cihan leaves, Boran says that, after Cihan’s marriage is annulled, Alya will again be his wife. He tells Sada he wants his own lawyer, not that incompetent Erol. He storms out with Gulgun.
When Deniz arrives we get a relaxing, pleasant family scene. Deniz goes to see Firfir, his pony. Alya wonders if there was a scene. Cihan says that there’s no turning back. [I agree, Anastasia, that these two make a great couple!]
We get to see Boran’s choice of attorney. He reminds me of the lawyers who run television ads asking if viewers have recently had an accident. Gurgun is still with Boran but looking on this attorney/client meeting with disgust.
We find out some more things thanks to Gurgun. He tells Boran to stop it. And didn’t you fake your own death so the Bulgarians would believe it and leave you alone? The night you decided this, you knew Cihan and Alya would marry. Boran tells him to shut it. No one will learn about the Bulgarians. Gulgun reminds him he said Cihan should marry Alya if anything happened to him. They did what you asked. And now they love each other. She gave you a kidney! What more do you want? You’re being unjust.
Boran raises his hand to the guy who cared for him for a year. Gulgun grabs it and more or less curses the fate that tied him to Boran. [So it looks like Ecmel’s brilliant firstborn arranged for his death to be faked to escape the Bulgarians. But his evil father somehow tried it for real, and Boran spent a year in a coma. This is more than a little confusing.]
lejos
ReplyDeleteMartes - Part 2 of 3
Gulgun suggests getting him to any other country he’d like. He can begin a new life. Let Alya and Cihan stay married. Didn’t you befriend Alya to get Canadian citizenship? [!!] That’s why you married her. You got what you wanted and then you disappeared. Boran puts his hands over his ears like a child. He blurts out that he fell in love with her. If you loved her, why did you ask your brother to marry her? You got scared, faked your death, and disappeared. Then you return and say you’ll be back at her side, as if it were simple. This is not love. Cihan is right. This is egoism. Boran: My sentiments aren’t any of your business, Gurgun. Alya is my wife, and she’ll continue to be.
Deniz is having a great time at the new house and wants Cihan to stay. There’s an uncomfortable silence, and Cihan says work won’t let him. Looks like Kadir will stay there for protection. And Pakike is also there, probably for childcare when Alya is at the hospital. [Might this heat up a Kadir/Pakike relationship?] Alya and Cihan hate to part and have a fond embrace.
Kaya calls Zerrin to ask if she needs anything. He’ll come by later. She tells him that the phase of craving things has passed. He’s sorry he missed the early parts.
Sada is lying in wait for Alya at the hospital. Before she gets a chance to get all her points across, Nare comes in. But Sada isn’t deterred. She says that Cihan has worried about Alya. He wasn’t sleeping well but still didn’t take action. Then you passed a night in a motel, and the next morning he takes you by the hand and escorts you to another place. You slept together!
Nare tells her to stop! Alya says that it’s none of her business. Sada says that it is her business because Alya’s marriage to Cihan was about to end. Alya decided the best solution was to sleep with Cihan. You seduced my son. You inserted yourself in his bed. [The unmitigated gall of this woman!]
Alya gets mad. Stop interfering and know your place! Cihan is my husband, and for now we have no plan to separate. We are husband and wife. Know what’s between us? It’s not what you’re thinking. It’s not a sin of one night. It’s not fear. What is between us is something you’ll never understand. It’s true love, genuine love. It’s love that presents many difficulties. But no one can change that. Not you. Not Boran. Not a decision by a judge. You know why? Because we belong together.
Sada jumps up and says that they say love is blind. A storm is coming. You’re just walking in the dark. But I fear you won’t end well. After she leaves, Nare tells her not to let this bother her.
Fidan is packing things, mostly food, and Ecmel confronts her. She tells him she’s helping the poor. Wow! Fidan drives! Ecmel thinks she’s going to Zerrin and orders some guy to drive and follow her.
Kaya shops for baby clothes. Cute scene until we see that Sadakat has miraculously seen her son in a baby shop and follows him.
Fidan spies Ecmel in pursuit and shouts for help from Allah! She pulls into a hotel and runs in grinning. Ecmel follows pushing his weight around, even striking a hotel employee. Then he barges into a steam room where Fidan is leading a dance! The women throw him out.

ReplyDeleteMartes - Part 3 of 3
Nare is not pregnant. She thinks it’s because of the miscarriage she had when married to what’s his name. Alya says that this could make it hard to get pregnant for a while, but not to give up hope. She needs some time. And treatment. There’s some kind of an administrative glitch about a patient at the hospital. The director of the hospital has left his job. Nare reviews the documents and solves the problem. Dr. Yalcin approaches and compliments Nare. He also offers Nare the job to replace the former director. Nare mentions that she did administrative work for her father for years.
Sahin has arrived and looks suspicious.
Kaya arrives at Zerrin’s hideout. They get a few happy minutes together, and Kaya feels the baby kick. Then Sadakat rushes in raging. Fidan also comes in. When Sada warns her not to get the demon inside her to show up, Fidan aptly replies that Sada is a demon inside and outside. Kaya interrupts these two and says that Zerrin’s baby is his.
Oh, geez! Ipek is again lurking outside the fence. She gets an angry face and somehow has Demir in the contacts on her phone. She puts her finger on the phone but doesn’t dial it. She just weeps a bit. Stop torturing us, writers!
Nare tells Sahin that Yalcin offered her a job. Sahin stops the car. He’s jealous of Yalcin. Nare calls him on it, and says she’s thinking about it. He wants her to focus on having a baby. [Sahin, you disappointed me.]
Muzaffer tells Cihan about Sada finding Zerrin. Sada then arrives in full harpy mode. She rags on Cihan for telling her Zerrin went to Germany. Cihan isn’t taking this. Did you expect me to send my brother’s child out of the country? She says that Demir won’t give Zerrin the divorce. He’ll align with Ecmel and there’ll be a scandal. And Demir might kill them both. Then she tells Cihan that she asked the two of them to behave. We’ll hide this until Zerrin gives birth. If the divorce happens, we’ll have succeeded. But if not, she’ll go back with Demir. We’ll take the baby and bring it to the mansion.
Cihan: What are you saying? You’re a mother. And you’d yank a baby away from its mother. But, Cihan, we can’t leave it with the evil Demir. Sada isn’t happy Cihan won’t go along with her plan and starts ranting about all her problems, including Boran. Cihan tells her not to even think of telling Boran (about Kaya and Zerrin).
We see that Boran is lurking on the balcony above and listening. Sada accuses Cihan of not trusting his brother. Cihan: Which Boran? The one before or the one now? Don’t you see this man is behaving like someone with mental problems. He does crazy things when we least expect it. You went to the hospital. Did you speak with Alya? It’s obvious why you went there. What did she say?
She said you’re her husband, and that you two are never going to separate. That your union wasn’t an accident, nor an error, nor born out of fear. She said she’s explaining something I’d never be able to understand, that your love is real and sincere. Cihan: This is the truth. We can’t deny it. You would not understand, mother. This is real. No one should leave this world without experiencing this.
Cihan and Sadakat walk up the stairs. Boran is there. Cihan bids him good night and walks away. Boran asks Sadakat for Alya’s number. Cihan turns. Why? I’ll be speaking to Alya. I’ll speak with my son. You still have some time.
Lejos - Sadakat has warned Alya twice that she is in physical danger from Boran. Canadian Alya just doesn't get it. (My own Pakistani-born SIL was concerned when she fell in love with my Scandinavian heritage brother. Worried about honor killings. But things worked out.)
DeleteThey are all worried about Zerrin suffering physical harm from Demir. Not enough of them see the danger from Boran.

Noverela, I enjoyed your recap with all the fun asides!
Gurgon was talking about Boran faking his death. Being in an accident that puts you in a coma is not good faking. Was Gurgon referring to the quick instructions Boran gave him before he passed into the coma?
Why does the hotel have such tight security? Why can't Ecmel walk down a hotel corridor without getting stopped? Or wasn't that a hotel? I was assuming it was one with meeting rooms that they rent out.
Speaking of hotels - Sadakat guesses Alya and Cihan did the deed in the hotel. But they've been sharing quarters for a year now! How can Sadakat know what they were doing - or not doing - in their rooms in the konak?
Nare being offered the position of hospital director: It always slays me in TNs how people with little or no qualifications are put in executive jobs. It sounds like Nare has some skills, but managing her father's paperwork hardly qualifies her to run a hospital. She's never worked in one! And what happened to hiring from within?
I was worried about Fidan leaving her tupperwares in the hot car when she went to the exercise class. I hope Zerrin doesn't get sick.
Good, that posted.
ReplyDeleteThinking about the Boran actor. I think he's just not cutting it. I wondered if his being a staring lump was the director's choice but even so he's not persuasive in his role. He should give us the feeling of a tightly-wound spring, about to do something shocking. An adrenalin-filled person like Boran would be twitchy, his eyes would dart about. That actor is taller than the whole cast and could use that height to do some looming. Instead there's something dead about his performance.
The rest of the cast is so amazing! I've become a big fan of the Sadakat actress. For the longest time she was given just two things to do: glare and issue commands. Basically be a gargoyle with opinions. But she began to need to show more complex and nuanced reactions and she's really bringing it.
I hope for season three they retain Sadakat and Ecmel. They really drive most of the conflict. Things would be bland without them.
lejos
ReplyDeleteFor me, the problem with Boran is that he moves like he was put together by Dr. Frankenstein. Maybe there was more to that surgery that we know? Does mental health resources not exist in this part of Turkey? Not much concern, as Maggie said, about the threat he might be to Alya.
And I hope Sahin doesn't go full on caveman. Nare may not be qualified but she needs something to do other than hang out at the house with Ecmel. And I'm pretty sure babies aren't made with a whole bunch of "focus", but the stress of Ecmel can't be helping so he shouldn't begrudge her a job.
Meanwhile, Fidan is out there being the best of the older generation! I didn't know what was going on in that hotel room, but I love her more for it. Enjoy life, Fidan!

ReplyDeleteLove your recaps, novelera! ITA on Sadakat.
I agree about Boran. He’s a drag. Maybe he’s a bad actor or maybe the director wants him to act badly.
There were unfortunate edits. I don’t have time to detail all of them. They seem to cut scenes that are humorous. This show needs a little levity.
Cut: Deniz playing that egg breaking game in the kitchen with Kadir.
Cut: breakfast scene with Fidan, Sahin, and Nare. She’s looking for someone to drive her to Zerrin. He can’t and says Nare can’t either because she’s going to the hospital for a checkup. Fidan erupts with joy thinking this means Nare is pregnant. They try to get her to lower her expectations.
When Ecmel questioned Fidan about where she was going, first she snarked that she had a boyfriend. Then she told him she was going to the hammam. He could come and rub her back. The hammam was in a hotel on the way that she stopped at.
Fidan was going to take a taxi but there wasn’t one around, so she asked the henchies for the car key. He told her, you don’t know how to drive. She replied, but I have a drivers license, it can’t be that hard.
I’ll give Sahin a pass on his jealousy this time. If it gets worse, I’ll be disappointed. Sahin and Nare make a great couple. I hope they don’t break them up.
Lejos - I will have to watch Wednesday's episode tomorrow before I can do a recap. I watched about half of the episode. We switched to baseball and tennis. The Milwaukee Brewers came back from behind to win against their archrivals the Chicago Cubs. And Carlos Alcaraz was playing on ESPN.

ReplyDeleteThanks, all. Lots of great insights from the comments.
Anastasia, good point about Alya having been brought up in Canada. I can't remember her age when her adoptive mother took her on. She's seen all along to be aghast at the male chauvinists in Turkey.
Maggie, I had forgotten about Boran speaking to Gurgun right after the accident. I'm still confused. Boran wanted an accident and for the Bulgarians to think him deceased. But, IIRC, Ecmel, always out for revenge, had also sent the car that crashed into Boran's vehicle. And, eventually, when Ecmel got one of his hall passes from prison, he had the guy who'd crashed into Boran's vehicle killed just before Cihan was about to catch up to him and question him.
dondi, thanks for one of your always fine comments. I see you still have a sweet tooth for Sahin! And you're in agreement that hulking, staring Boran isn't working for any of us. Are the writers saying he was always an SOB but his family just didn't see it? Hard to believe that.
Lejos - The whole back stories of Azem, Suleyman, Nadim and Ecmel don't make a lot of sense. Neither do the multiple back stories of Boran. I wonder if the writers planned to have a second season, and now a third. So it's all gobbledygook. I'm just going to say "whatever" and enjoy the current romances.

"La rabia traiciona" - The anger destroys
Boran asks Sadakat and Cihan for Alya's phone number. Says he wants to talk to Deniz. He gets the phone number from Sadakat. Boran tells Deniz that he will come out to the ranch to see him the next day.
Erol calls Cihan. He tells Cihan that Boran has hired his own lawyer, one Polat Baskinar. Erol warns Cihan that the case may not turn out the way Cihan wants. Cihan says he knows.
Cihan goes out to the ranch and greets Alya while she is cooking soup. They get "mushy", to quote my husband. (I told him this was the best part. We then switched the TV over to the Brewers game.) While Alya and Cihan are making eyes at each other and rubbing noses, the soup boils over. Deniz, Pakize and Kadir come to the kitchen and laugh at Alya and Cihan. The soup is ruined. Just then, Kaya comes in, carrying take-out lahmacun, like a Turkish-type pizza. He brings Zerrin(!), Sahin, Nare, Muzaffer and Umu. They all have a lovely evening together. After they leave, Cihan puts Deniz to bed and picks Alya and carries her away. The next morning, Alya and Cihan wake up together.
Ipek is hanging out in town sitting near a food truck. Demir finds Ipek and questions her. Demir says that if Kaya is still around, that means Zerrin is still here. Ipek gives bland answers and doesn't say where Zerrin is.
Boran goes out to the ranch and meets Firfir, the pony. Boran wants Alya and Deniz to return to the mansion. Alya says that Deniz likes to be with Firfir and that it is safer for them at the ranch. Boran asks if he can take Deniz on an excursion. Alya relunctantly agrees and asks Kadir to go with them. Boran takes Deniz to the Albora village and Kadir follows right behind in another vehicle. Gurgun tells Boran it's not safe to be in the town plaza, but he is ignored. When Kadir sees where they are going, he calls Cihan.
Boran, Deniz, and Kadir arrive at the town plaza. Uncle Hasan is there. Deniz wants fruit juice at the outdoor cafe. Ecmel and his men show up. He says someone told him that Boran and Deniz were at the plaza. Since Kadir is there to stay with Deniz, Boran goes over to talk to Ecmel. Ecmel says Boran is only safe in the town plaza because he is under Ecmel's protection. Ecmel wants to see Deniz and walks towards him. Kadir stops Ecmel. A fight breaks out between Kadir and Hasan and Ecmel's men. Boran grabs Deniz and moves him away from the fight. Ecmel comes over to Deniz and pets him as a grandpa. Deniz does not like that. Ecmel had kidnapped Deniz earlier and Deniz wants no part of him. Cihan and Alya show up and rescue Deniz. Sadakat follows with her driver. They all yell at Boran, and take Deniz away.

At Zerrin's hideout, Fidan is knitting while Kaya and Zerrin visit. Fidan gets a call from her brother (not a Lejos show character), and leaves to help him. The men guarding the house will drive her to her brother's house, so the only man in the house now is Kaya. She tells Kaya and Zerrin to behave. As Fidan is driven away, we see that Ipek is spying again from her hiding place. She calls Demir and tells him that she will tell Demir where Zerrin is.
Cihan and Alya have taken Deniz back to the mansion (as it is close to the Albora plaza). They sit with him in Cihan's room. Deniz is scared of the old man who was all over him in the plaza (Ecmel) and doesn't want to see him again. They put him to bed for a nap in Cihan's bed. Boran, Sadakat and Cihan argue - didn't Boran see how scared Deniz was of Ecmel? Boran apologizes and says he was caught off guard. He didn't know that Ecmel had kidnapped Deniz.
Back at Zerrin's hideout, Zerrin has a sudden pain. She has to sit. Kaya wants to take her to the hospital. Kaya calls Alya and says that Zerrin is having contractions. (Surely too early.) Kaya will drive Zerrin to the hospital and Alya will meet him there. Alya tells Kaya that he is to drive carefully and Zerrin is to lie down in the back seat.
Just as Kaya and Zerrin get into Kaya's pickup truck, Demir and his men arrive. Demir gets out of his car and pulls a gun on Kaya. Kaya - rather than just explaining Zerrin's situation - peels out. Demir shoots after the pickup and then hops back into his car to give chase. Demir thinks that Kaya is kidnapping Demir's wife.
After Alya, Cihan and Sadakat head to the hospital to be there when Zerrin and Kaya arrive, Deniz is left sleeping in Cihan's room with Umu and just a few other people around. Boran wonders where Deniz is. They tell him that Deniz is in Cihan's room. Boran goes into that room and sees the family photo in the frame of Cihan, Deniz and Alya. He starts to pull it out of the frame to rip up, when Deniz wakes up and stops him. Boran apologizes to Deniz about the Ecmel encounter in the Albora plaza.
Demir and men in his car are chasing Kaya's pickup truck as Kaya takes Zerrin to the hospital. Demir yells at the men to shoot the tires, not into the pickup because Zerrin is in there. (Mainly, they shoot into the air - to scare Kaya into stopping?) Cihan calls Kaya and Kaya answers, says Demir found them and is following them. Kaya tells Cihan what highway he is on. Eventually, some of the Baybars bullets break the rear window and glass is flying. Kaya turns to look at Zerrin in the back seat, and he drives into a roadside boulder. Kaya is knocked unconscious. The phone line is still open and Cihan hears Kaya crash. He yells "Kaya" through the phone. - End episode.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Anastasia! This was great.
It was nice to see the cousins/siblings having a warm and happy dinner together.
Small things I wonder about: why is Fifir always saddled? How does Ipek get so close to the hideout without being noticed? Why are there no bullet holes in the back of Kaya’s car? Maybe they were all air shots. In the plaza why does everyone sit in the full sun? No umbrellas, no trees!
