Golden Boy – Yali Capkini – Poder y traicion
    Episode 96 #1 of 7
    “United by Pain”

Pelin and Ferit are in the ping pong room at the gym after Seyran leaves. She asks if they will leave and he tells her she should go ahead because he will box with Ibo for a while. She agrees and tells him she will call her mom and go see her. Good, he tells her, let’s go. She tells him everything will be OK, just to give it time. He walks out and down the hall, massaging his neck.

Seyran is in a cab. She looks just as impactada as Ferit. Kazim is in Saffet’s fancy auto.
    Kazim: Wow, Aga, you’re different.
Saffet Aga laughs at this and asks why he said that out of nowhere.
Kazim: What do you mean out of nowhere. You’re the first I’ve seen confront Halis Aga. You know to do that, you need the bravery of an entire army. You did what you said you would. Thanks to you, our daughter’s back home, don’t you see? May Allah bless you.
Saffet: This world has its codes. Halis Korhan’s grandson did us much harm. But what he did doesn’t compare with what we did. We’ll cover your bill when the month is up.
    Kazim: Yes, of course.
The auto stops. Kazim asks where they are and is told he’ll find out soon enough.

Back at the bridal dress shop, Tarik is impatient and asks his mother to check on where Seyran is. She tells him she will be there soon and to calm down. He tells her he can’t relax without knowing where she is and with whom. Hattice looks more annoyed than usual.
Trying on a dress, Suna hears Abidin in her mind, telling her he may not be able to fix everything, but he will do everything to not open problems. He tells her he will be by her side if she wants, as a friend. Suna’s face in the mirror looks anything but a happy bride. She collapses to the floor and covers her face. The attendant asks if she is OK. Suna is still revisiting visits with Abidin and remembers him giving her his ring. He tells her they can make the impossible real. She holds her head as she remembers him promising her she will never hear from him again if she says no. The anguish on her face is very sad. She slowly stands up and tells the attendant she is OK.

Suna finally walks out. Nazan and Tarik look at her in surprise. Esme tells Hattice to look at Suna, so beautiful.
Nazan breaks the mood: What’s wrong with you? Did you come out of henhouse? She says the other dress was better. (Referring to all the feathers on that dress)
Hattice: We could ask what she thinks.
Nazan: What for? She’ll look in the mirror once or twice. The rest of us will see it all the time, not her. Our opinion’s more important.
Hattice is now starting to realize what Suna’s life will be like if she marries into that family.
The attendant brings another dress to show them. Esme asks Suna what she thinks, but Nazan says it’s the right dress and that she likes it.
Hattice speaks up: We should see it on before we decide if we like it.
Tarik gets a message. It’s Saffet Junior telling him he is on his way. Then Tarik tells Nazan that Saffet finally has a date for the wedding.
Suna starts to faint. Meanwhile, in walks Seyran, and she runs to help her sister. Seyran asks what happened and Hattice shakes her head. Nazan is watching them all with a sarcastic expression. Tarik is also watching. [I’m thinking that that dress isn’t going to be in condition to be sold after all the crying, collapsing, and hands on.]

    Episode 96 #2 of 7
Back with Saffet Aga, Kazim finds himself in a wonderland of fancy cars. He is like a kid in a candy shop. Kazim is such a suck up, asking what they are doing there, as if he hasn’t guessed already. Saffet tells they attentive staff that Kazim will be part of the family soon and Saffet wants to get him a gift, something they both will be happy with. They are offered coffee and the catalogue to look over, but Saffet says they would rather choose something now. They can have coffee when they are signing the papers.
Kazim: What a wonderful surprise. Did you know that my biggest problem since coming to Istanbul is the taxis? Aga, do you think we are worthy of these beauties?
Saffet Aga: Of course. You’re decent persons like us. That’s how I see it.
    Kazim is checking the autos.
Saffet continues: If both my grandsons are marrying both your daughters, all that’s ours is yours too. We’ll be family.
Kazim is so excited and his body language is entertaining. [Love the actor, hate the character!]
Kazim: What else can I say? What can I add? I agree completely. We’ll dine tonight as a family. We’ll celebrate the Antep way. Tell your boys. We’ll have fun!
Saffet: Listen, Kazim. I’ll agree only if Ms. Hattuc cooks. Because you must respect the old recipes. If we’re going to honor Antep, everything must be perfect.
Kazim: I see you have good taste. My aunt’s appetizers have always been very famous. Don’t worry. I’ll handle it personally. Consider it done. My aunt will make everything. Look, this one’s nice.
Saffet: Do you have a license? Do you know how to drive?
Kazim: Of course. Do I seem inexperienced? I’ll take the road by storm, you’ll see!
Saffet: If you like that one, they’ll handle everything. If you like it so much, then we’ll buy it. It will be as you wish.
Kazim: Wow, leather seats. Such luxury. This car is wonderful! And look at the color. It’s an elegant black. It’s beautiful. It’s perfect. You’re the best. Let me kiss your hand.
As Kazim gives the kiss of respect, Saffet Aga signals the salesmen to start the paperwork.
Kazim: Hey, Salesman. Does it run on diesel or gasoline?
The salesman appears immediately and tells him it runs on gasoline.
Kazim: Gasoline’s too expensive, but who cares? The car’s worth it. Let’s see how it is on the inside.
Kazim gets in after bouncing on the outside step and then bounces in the drivers’ seat.
    Kazim: Stupendous!
He toots the horn and declares it a great horn.

Back at the bridal store, Suna is drinking water. Seyran asks if she is better.
Suna: Seyran, I feel like I’m drowning. I want to take it off. I feel so bad.
Nazan is watching closely. She finally decides she likes the new one and wants Suna to try it on.
Seyran looks at Esme and shakes her head. Suna says she won’t try any more. Pick the one you like the most, please.
Nazan: But good heavens, the wedding will be soon. We should know the size and make sure it fits. Get up and stop being so weak!
Seyran: Fine. She’ll try it, but wait. Good Heavens.
    Tarik looks at Seyran.
Suna: I won’t do it, Seyran. I want to go. I can’t take this.
Seyran: Of course. Mom, please, let’s go.
Esme: I don’t know if that’s best. Auntie?
Nazan: Get up and try it on. We’re not leaving without a dress.

    Episode 96 # 3 of 7

Hattice’s eyes narrow as she looks at Nazan. She finally comes up with a compromise: If it’s to know the size, let’s Seyran try it on. They wear the same clothes. It doesn’t matter; they both have the same figure. Suna, get up and take off the dress. Drink that and change. We should see the size and model.
    Seyran: But, Auntie, why me?
Esma: Seyran, help your sister, OK? She doesn’t feel well at all, and everyone’s waiting here.
A figurine of three monkeys (see, hear, and speak no evil) pops up on the screen briefly.
Seyran and Suna go in the dressing room. Suna helps Seyran into the beautiful dress. Seyran looks in the mirror and cries.
Suna is crying: I felt like I was being wrapped in a burial shroud, Seyran! Now I understand what you had to suffer.
Seyran, wiping away tears: Forget it, Sister.
The two hug on the floor.
Seyran: Let’s go out to show the family. Let’s go because I don’t want to wear it one minute longer.

Kazim is driving home in his new car. He tells himself he made a great choice! But he then says: If only we learned how to use the control panel. [!!!] We’ll figure it out. And who will sit next to me? Esme would look good in the trunk. Let’s think.
Then he picks up the phone. He puts it down.
Kazim: Oh, Kazim, don’t do something you could regret later, you old fox.
But later, he gives in and calls Zerrin.

We see a large van drive up to a fancy building. Out get Pelin, Ifakat, Gulgun, and Zerrin. Zerrin gets the call from Kazim and tells the others to go ahead and she’ll see them inside.
Zerrin: Mr. Kazim, how are you?
Kazim: Very well, and how are you?
Zerrin purrs: Fine, and better now that I hear your voice.
Kazim: How would you feel if instead of just hearing my voice, you could see my face?
Zerrin asks what he means, and he tells her he is driving around in his new car and wanted her company. She tells him unfortunately she can’t at that time. They can leave it for another day. She tells him it’s a promise and sends him “Kisses.”
Kazim is surprised she ended the call. He tells himself he is a moron for saying she would want to see his face.
Kazim, to himself: What a disgrace. You got nervous. Incredible. Alright, then. Where am I going now?

At the bridal shop, Nazan is looking through some magazines. Tarik is sitting in his usual odd position, also waiting. Uh oh! In walk Ifakat and Co. They are also looking at bridal dresses. Esme spots them and points them out to Hattice. Gulgun notices the other party and says to herself that it can’t be. Ifakat tells them they can’t avoid them. She asks Gulgun what she will do, greet them? Ifakat and Pelin turn to look at some dresses, but Gulgun walks over to the Sanli/Ihsanli group. Hattice stands to greet her. Just then Seyran walks out in Suna’s dress, followed by Suna.
Gulgun: Seyran. What are you doing?
Seyran is trying to find words, when Tarik stands to join her.
Gulgun: So, it’s all true? You’re getting married?

    Episode 96 #4 of 7
Seyran tries to explain, but Gulgun leaps to the conclusion. Seyran, meanwhile, can’t take her eyes off of Pelin and Ifakat picking out a dress for Pelin. Everyone is stunned. Tarik is smirking.

Gulgun: Is your father forcing you to get married before the divorce? And you’re OK with it, aren’t you? Of course you are. That’s why you’ve acted so strange all this time. Do you know how disgraced my son feels? Do you have any idea of the damage you’ve done?
Seyran keeps staring at Pelin, who doesn’t look very happy.
Seyran: Allah Allah. I’m so sorry, Ms. Gulgun. But look, your new daughter-in-law is right behind you. I’m sure she’ll console your son. And next time (this to Pelin), look in the mirror before criticizing me!
Esme and Hattice tell her to calm herself.
Ifakat tells everyone that she needs to speak. She’s been holding it in for months.
Tarik asks Hattice if there is a problem. She tells him to give them a minute. This is a talk among women. Tarik withdraws.
Hattice: Ms. Ifakat, Ms. Gulgun, if you want us to treat you respectfully, lead by example. My family has a bitter side of the story. We also have things to say.
Ifakat, dander up: Excuse me, but what do you have to say about us?
Seyran saunters over to Ifakat: Are you seriously asking? Do you want to talk about the atrocities I’ve seen? The embarrassment that goes on behind closed doors? Tell me, do you want me to talk? Just because I’ve been silent until now doesn’t mean I haven’t seen or heard anything.
Gulgun: Listen, don’t talk about this in public. We’re in a store. Don’t be foolish.
Seyran: So, it’s foolish? Now you’re talking to me like this? Where’s your affection? You called me your daughter, what happened? No one called or wanted to know how I was.
    Suna: Seyran, calm down.
Ifakat: Let her unleash her poison, Suna. She made her choice to leave. She can’t expect to not be replaced.
Seyran: I never expected it. It would be absurd. I knew you’d do it soon. I know you.
Zerrin: Excuse us. We came here to try on bridal gowns.
Seyran: I’m not surprised you’re here today especially. (to Ifakat) You ambushed me, remember? You trapped me and locked me in that room. (to Gulgun) And you, nothing. You did nothing. You didn’t even come close to hear me. Of course. You’re used to turning a blind eye all the time, aren’t you? (to Ifakat) You thought I’d ignore it and forget it, right? Well, it didn’t happen. And it won’t.
Ifakat, spitting out the words: Enough. The story with you is over.
Seyran: I see. You found a worthy bride for the family.
Ifakat: We’re still waiting. He’ll get married just like you. I just hope you stay firm and don’t give up at the last minute.
Ifakat walks off, but Gulgun is still staring at Seyran, impactada. Seyran sighs deeply and walks away.
Tarik is pacing outside the store. Seyran comes out, walking briskly, back in her regular clothes. She stands at the door, crying. He goes to her and asks if she is OK. He reaches out to her, and she tells him to leave her alone. He offers her some water. She starts to collapse, and he catches her. He wants her to tell him what made her cry and she tells him she doesn’t want to talk. She tells him to leave her alone.
Tarik: Seyran, you’re not well. Look, they are coming.
Suna walks out. Tarik accompanies the others who follow Seyran into the waiting vehicle.

    Episode 96 #5 of 7
At the yali, Ifakat is thinking as she eats dinner. She stares at Gulgun. Fuat and Asuman are there and Ferit comes into the room.
Ferit: What a lovely family. He greets the wait staff as he walks around the table. There doesn’t seem to be a place set for him. He grins and takes Halis’s chair. He smiles at everyone and wishes them good evening. He takes Gulgun’s fork, since they didn’t put one there. He helps himself to some of her plate and also from the serving dish that was in front of him. Fuat tells him not to sit there. He tells him that Halis might see him.
Ferit grins: I see. I suppose that’s how fear feels. Grandfather’s not here, so I could take his place. I like it. I haven’t seen my father today. Where could he be? No one knows. That’s my dad, always so mysterious. There’s nothing to do. He’s like that. Isn’t it true, Mom? Where’s your husband? Do you know?
Gulgun: Don’t be rude, Ferit. He has a lot of work to do. He’s upstairs at his desk. What else can he do? He works.
Ifakat: You’re not taking your anger out on who you really should be.
Gulgun, using her forefinger forcefully: Don’t you dare. Don’t even think it, Ifakat. I don’t want any more problems. I don’t know who I should be angry with because I’m going to go crazy with all the drama in this house. I’m completely losing my mind.
Ifakat: It’s good that he knows. It’s not bad. He deserves to know. It will ease his conscience. It will do him good to know that the woman who made this house a living hell was in the shop today trying on a bridal gown! (Ifakat mades a really ugly face when she says this.)
Fuat, Asuman, and Gulgun react to this, knowing it is intended to hurt Ferit.
Ferit smiles, and asks: What nonsense did you say? I didn’t understand.
Ifakat: I’m not saying nonsense. The one trying on white dresses and flirting with her new conquest is the one talking nonsense, but I told you that. I told you to trust your aunt’s instincts.
Ferit hits the table, just like Halis, making the dishes jump: I don’t care about your instincts. This isn’t about you.
Gulgun smiles at Ferit telling Ifakat off.
Ferit: Didn’t you ask her? Did she say she’s getting married?
    Ifakat: It’s obvious.
Ferit: It’s not. Just answer the question I asked you. Did you ask her if she was getting married? Because I strongly doubt she stayed quiet. You’re telling me you talked to her, right? What did she say about the wedding dress? Answer! What the hell was she doing there?
Ifakat: She’s moving on with her life. What else could she do? I warned you. I told you as soon as she left, they’d marry her to someone else.
Ferit grins sarcastically: You did say that. Of course you told me. You’re so smart. Really brilliant.
    Ferit claps loudly.
Ferit: I congratulate you. Good job. Bravo.
Ferit stand up and tells her he’ll be seeing her. He walks off, wiping away tears.

At the Sanli home, Kazim is hosting an Antep evening. There is music from his homeland and Hattice stands ready to offer more traditional dishes from Antep. Saffet Aga, Saffet Junior, Tarik, and Kazim are drinking happily. Kazim is starting to dance and then he starts singing. Esme joins Hattice watching this unfold. I’m hoping the original Turkish shows Kazim as a better singer. [I checked the Turkish, and he doesn’t sing much better in Turkish! The Antep accent is fun to hear! Now I wonder if the dubbing person actually sings better but tried to match the Turkish.]
Saffet Aga: You have an excellent voice, Kazim! But as nice as a man’s voice is, it’s not as delicate as a woman’s. (Hattice is rolling her eyes now.) I’d love to hear feminine voices on a night like tonight.
Kazim: Of course, our girls have great and delicate voices.
Junior looks around hopefully. Tarik looks bored.
Kazim: I’ll call them and they’ll come sing the song that you want.

Saffet Aga gets to his real goal: I heard they got their talent from their lovely aunt. Why don’t we hear Ms. Hattuc’s voice?
Saffet slowly takes a bite of some food as he looks at Hattice, perhaps in a suggestive manner.
Kazim: Auntie, did you hear? Go on, sing us a popular song from Antep. We’re listening.
Hattice: Have you gone crazy? I won’t sing.
Kazim: Didn’t you hear him? The man wants to hear a woman’s voice. Come on, sing.
Saffet Aga: Leave her. Don’t insist. They say nothing good can come if it’s not from the heart. The appetizers were clearly made with all her soul. Without a doubt. It was as if they took Antep and put it on small plates.
(Hattice not only rolls her eyes but her whole head.)
Kazim, giddily: It’s magic, you see? It’s the magic of my aunt’s hands. She made it all herself. I just made sure it was all done.
Saffet Aga: Thank you Ms. Hattuc, it was delicious. I hope this hasn’t inconvenienced you.
Hattice: Guests have never been a problem, so long as they’re guests.
Saffet Aga: We’ll be a single family together soon. We’ll see each other with more frequency. We’ll have a lot of time to hear her sing.
Kazim: Exactly, of course. Soon, we’ll be a family and nothing and no one will stop us.
Saffet Aga: Kazim, we’re going home now, but we’ll be back tomorrow. Things are advancing. I don’t want you to worry about everything yourself.
Kazim: Thank you. May Allah bless you, beloved in-law. Everything will turn out well. We’ll be a great family. You’ll see. Esme! Look. The plates are empty! Go fill them again!
Esme starts to walk toward the table, but Saffet Aga stops her: Don’t worry, Esme. Don’t bring anything else. We’re leaving. I appreciate it.
Esme seems startled at being addressed so politely.
Kazim: You’re going now. No! Wait, I’ll go to the bathroom. Then I’ll come back and we’ll say goodbye as Allah demands.
Kazim touches Hattice’s chin as he goes by, cackling. Hattice doesn’t look happy. Saffet Aga looks at her and sighs deeply.

Seyran and Suna are trying to relax in their room after the wedding dress outing.
Suna: Does it seem too little, Seyran? I couldn’t even stand. I thought I would die. And then Ms. Ifakat came and she said those things. I couldn’t believe it.
Seyran: Tomorrow will be a celebration for them.
Suna: It’s in your hands if they get to celebrate. Don’t get divorced. Don’t do it. Talk to your lawyer. Maybe he can do something.
Seyran: There is no other way, sister. However it happens, it will happen.
Suna: You’ll be unhappy, Seyran. You’ll regret it, I’m sure. Look, sister, don’t do it. Tomorrow stand up in front of the judge and say you don’t want a divorce.
Seyran: Suna, nothing will change. He’s getting married. They went to buy a wedding dress.
There is a sound, and the door opens with and ominous Kazim standing there, apparently having overheard them. He walks over to the sisters.
Kazim: Suna, were you advising your sister not to get divorced?
He hits the door with his fist. Suna jumps.
Kazim: All this time I’ve been asking myself who gave you bad advice. I see now you didn’t need any help. You poison yourselves. Suna!
Seyran jumps up between Kazim and Suna: I’ll do it. I’ll get divorced if that’s what you want.

Don’t worry. But if you touch a hair on Suna, …
Kazim: What will happen if I do? Let’s see.
Seyran confronts him directly: Then I won’t get divorced. If you touch her again, I won’t show up to court. You decide.
Kazim stares at both of them: Fine. I’ll believe you Seyran, but let me warn you. If you don’t leave that court divorced tomorrow, you’ll have to buy her a lot of ointment. [What a creep!!!!] Nothing will stop me. Keep that in mind.
He stares long and hard at both girls and then leaves.
Suna: Seyran, don’t worry about me. Just think about what I said. Think about you and your happiness, OK?
The sisters embrace and then sink to the floor.

New music starts and we see all parties as they prepare to sleep (or not).
We see Ferit in his bed. Then we see the sad sisters. After seeing Ferit for awhile, we see (who else?) Sultan outside drinking coffee out of a cup that says “BRAVE.” She looks happy and hopeful.
We see the sisters again, both impactadas. Then we see Ferit reach over to Seyran’s side of his bed, holding the pillow.
Next, we see Hattice about to call Halis. He is in his workroom. He sees the call coming in but apparently won’t answer it.
Gulgun is in her bed, looking very unhappy, facing out. Orhan is facing away from her. He is looking at his phone, at pictures of Betul. Gulgun is in pain, knowing he has someone else.

Halis, Latif, Ifakat, Orhan, Gulgun, and Ferit get in their three vehicles to head to the court.
We also see inside Saffet Aga’s vehicle where he is accompanied by Tarik, Saffet Junior and Ms. Nazan, who looks pleased. Saffet Aga looks more serious.
At the court, the Korhan party disembarks and walks in. They are met by members of the press, begging for news, asking why they are getting divorced. They are ignored.
Inside, we see Kazim pacing in front of his new in-laws. The Korhans are seated in the next chairs. There are lots of henchies around.
Ferit looks at Seyran. Suna looks at her also, trying to encourage her not to get divorced. Abidin is very sad. Kazim paces back and forth. He says it looks like time has slowed down in the court. He asks himself hot much longer until they undo themselves of this tragedy.
Halis: Kazim! Be careful with the words that come out of your mouth.
Saffet Aga: Why are you offended, Halis Korhan? This family is my family now. Don’t try to defend your honor over a lost cause. Besides, at your age, your hits hurt less than a pinch.
Saffet makes a face and Halis gets up at this. Halis and Orhan button their jackets. Halis then walks over to Ferit.
Halis: Listen to me well. I forbit you to do anything that could make me look bad in there. There is no way back.
He nods at Ferit, who nods back that they understand each other.
Kazim goes to Seyran: I warn you for the last time, if you try something or make me look bad, you’ll regret it. You’ll end up hurt and so will your sister. I hope it’s clear what you have to do.

No show last night so we get to find out tonight if the authorities will just let Sadakat run the prison, which she's going to do anyway. And maybe find out who the mystery woman is. I thought maybe Gurgun's daughter? I can't remember what happened to Cihan's original true love- I know the woman he married (Demir's one true) dies but not sure about his first love. But the woman in prison had very dark hair and might be too young to be connected to Chian. (Yes, Alya is young too, but still).

    Martes

    Part 1 of 3

We again see the female inmates treating Sadakat like a queen. And the one whose back remains turned to the room.

Cihan and Alya return to the mansion. Deniz runs out to greet his mother. Cihan broods. He goes upstairs. He has his mother’s jewelry in her hand and is putting them into her jewelry box.

Kaya is with Nare, Sahin and Fidan at the formerly burned mansion. He wants to speak with Zerrin. I remember that she had called him wanting to tell him something important right before she discovered the really spooky doll. Zerrin comes out looking destroyed. Sahin asks her what’s wrong. Kaya: You wanted me to come. And? Zerrin: I don’t love you anymore. Leave, just leave. She runs out sobbing. Kaya can’t believe it. Fidan says it might be better to speak with her later. [Ya think?]

Alya comes in while Cihan is putting away Sada’s jewelry. My mother gave me life. You made that life worthwhile. Now my mother’s inside, and you’re leaving. They’re trying to take everything from me. I won’t lose you, nor will I let you lose your son. It would be easy to kill him, but I won’t kill him, Alya. After all, a mother has a son and a son a mother. I’m going to make sure he regrets this. [Very grim expression.]

Cihan is searching, I think, the room Vurgun stayed in. Muzaffer assures him he searched and found nothing. But Cihan spies a piece of black plastic covering a hole in the ancient stones. [Muzaffer looks abashed; maybe he needs glasses.] There’s a cell phone inside. Muzaffer is delegated to find out what’s on it.

They eat well in Turkish women’s prisons, but Sada ignores what looks like a whole day’s nourishment for yours truly. The up until now nice prisoners start harassing the one who has yet to show her face. Sada orders them to leave her alone. The mystery woman turns. Recognition on both sides.

Cihan lies to Deniz, saying his grandmother went away for something urgent.

Nare, Kaya, and Cihan are at the prison. Erol has arranged a visit. Sada comes out. Each of her children give her the forehead touch and hand kiss. [Sada doesn’t come out in prison stripes. She’s very elegant in a red jacket.] Cihan assures her he’ll get that truckdriver to talk.

    Part 2 of 3

Sada tells Cihan there’s someone here he needs to see. Who is it? The mystery woman walks in. Astonishment all around. Cihan speaks: Meryem. [This is Cihan’s fiancée who disappeared.] What are you doing here, Meryem? He gets a cryptic response. People don’t return to the place they fled, rather to the place they belong. Sada says that if she hadn’t arrived here, she wouldn’t have seen Meryem. [I get the impression she was fine with Cihan’s relationship with Meryem.] Nare and Kaya greet Meryem. Sada then hustles Nare and Kaya out and cedes the rest of her visitation time to Meryem.

Meryem tells Cihan he’s changed. She can see the weight he’s carried in life. The bullet that found your father at that wedding didn’t only reach him. It hit everyone. I spoke some with your mother. She told me everything. What happened to Seyda was horrible. [Suicide because Cihan never loved her IIRC.] She learned about Boran’s will, that Cihan married his wife. Alya, Cihan interrupts sharply. And then Boran re-appearing. Life has been harsh with you, Cihan.

Meryem: Although we deeply loved each other, if I’d seen you in different circumstances, I wouldn’t seek you out. After this sad wedding day, my father didn’t want me to marry you. You were going to marry Seyda. Cihan replies that he wasn’t going to marry Seyda. It was to be their wedding day. [Huh? Meryem is invited to a wedding and hasn’t been told it’s hers?] Cihan goes on. Your father changed his mind and wouldn’t give you to me. He wanted you far away. I begged him several times, but he wouldn’t listen. I followed you to Germany, found your house and knocked on the door. But you weren’t there. You’d gone. You’d gotten married. After all this, I came back. And I had to marry Seyda to stop the vengeance. [From the fact that Boran shot the person who arranged the hit on Azem Albora, although it turns out it was really Nadim, sheesh.]

Her reply: Yes, I married. But you made it sound like I chose that. I had no other option. Cihan assures her none of it was her fault. Giving her a warm look, he says that, if he’d found her in Germany, he’d have married her. But you arrived too late. My father forced me to marry a Lebanese man, one with lots of money, but it was dirty money. He was a rotten guy. The first days were tolerable. But my father died, and then everything was different. Then began the abuse, the physical violence. The Germans wouldn’t help because they were paid off. Everyone except my sister Mukjan turned their backs. She tried to help, but what could she do.

    Part 3 of 3

He beat me so much. I tried for a divorce. At first, it didn’t happen, but later I got one and thought I was free. I fled. He found me and tried to prevent my escape. So, I stabbed him. [commercial time] I hurt him, but he was alive when I left. I crossed the border, but they found me and brought me here.

Alya calls Nare. Sahin and Kaya tell her not to mention Meryem. She’s indignant they’d think she’d say something. In unison they say she’d last, respectively, an hour or a half hour. Nare picks up and tells Alya that Sada was calm and collected. And Cihan didn’t pick up because he’s with Erol and some prison authorities.

Meryem tells Cihan he knows she wouldn’t hurt anyone. But the last time he forced himself on her, she couldn’t stand it. Of course, Cihan offers his help. I’ll make sure you don’t spend more time here. And, if you need anything while inside, let me know. Meryam tells him the only unchanged thing is his compassion. You make people feel safe by your side. They join hands for the second time. She starts to leave and then turns to embrace him briefly.

Cihan comes out of the prison asking Erol to take on Meryem’s case, find the husband, dead or alive. Nare and Kaya worry that, if Cihan tells Alya about Meryem…especially since she’s moving out, who knows. [Seems to me she won’t move out until and unless he can find an apartment building with only female tenants.]

One of the henchies calls Cihan from the hospital. Boran is trying to get inside. Cihan takes off. Kaya opines that Boran is begging for a bullet. Then he tells Nare and Sahin about Zerrin nursing some woman’s baby. Sahin is shocked. Kaya tells them Zerrin is just not the same as before.

Sahin gets a call. Ecmel has Fidan in a car with a gun to her head. He tells Sahin to come to where he sends directions. He needs to talk.

Boran, as per usual, is making an ass of himself. Alya hears the commotion and comes out. They argue. Didn’t you give me your word that you’d leave the mansion? Alya: The day that you got your mother in prison, you expect me to take my son somewhere else? You remember Deniz, our son. Until I find the right place for him, I’m not leaving.

Boran freaks out about the wedding band on Alya’s finger. He tries to take it off her as they struggle. Cihan, of course, arrives and shoves him away. Alya tells him that, while he has custody of Deniz, she’ll be away from Cihan. But you don’t have the power to take this ring from my finger. You’ll never have power over my heart.
