Oh my! The Capitulo viewerville has been waiting for. Folks, I am here with an annoying cold but
duty to the Capitulo calls – I will try
to do it justice!
Old news of El Pueblo
Dio and Agustina’s
Bedroom: Must I rewrite the
ludicrous dialogue of this loony couple?
Let me summarize it like this:
Senora Red Riding Hood has become the mature pawn for the mature perverse Mr Wolf. She wonders why Mr Wolf has stopped paying attention to her. Mr Wolf promises to do a better job even though Mr Wolf would rather put his paws on the the little Red-Riding Hood daughter. Mr Wolf growls and Senora Wolf titters and they tumble for a romp in the cottage.
New news of El Pueblo
Viv’s Apartment
(newly designated good-guy crash pad of El Pueblo): The scene opens as the dawn breaks and the camera
pans over a sleeping Aaron to Daniel waking up after a rugged night. He awakens and asks for Camila. He is disappointed when Aaron tells him she
left. Desperation has settled into
Daniel’s heart and now that he has nothing to lose he suggests that the good
guys proceed with the Plan B that was discussed last night.
Village North where
Fidencio’s Family lives: Piedad knocks on the door and a woman answers and
asks who she is. Piedad introduces
herself to Dona Choli (not sure of the
name here) as Fidencio’s former betrothed, the one he left plantada at the
altar. Dona Choli, recognizing Piedad,
is not feeling the same sentimentality and flips her lid and yells that
Fidencio did not leave Piedad. The
reason Piedad was left plantada at the altar was because Piedad’s brother
Leonicio killed him – Dona Choli is certain that Piedad must have known this
and fled (huir). Piedad
swears on her and Fidencio’s love child Luzma that she knew nothing
about this. Piedad cries that she has
only come north to confirm for herself what happened to Fidencio. She adds that her sorry excuse of a brother
LeoSordido has lied to her all these years and told her that Fidencio left her
at the alter. Dona Choli adds more
misery and describes that it was her other son Polita who found Fidencio’s body
thrown in a ditch, called the Red Cross,
but it was too late to save him. Brother
Julian searched for a long time trying to find Piedad and Leo with no success (I
wonder if she knows that Julian found LeoSordido ended up on the wrong side of
Leo’s gun at El Malquerida?). Piedad is
sobbing and pleading, but she is left on
the doorstep after the door is slammed in her face by Dona Choli who wants to
hear no more.
Prison Hospital: LeoSordido’s
pueblo assigned lawyer is explaining to him that the guards will take
him to his cell in a few minutes. He
says he understands Leo’s frustration at not being able to communicate and to declare
who cut his tongue out. But pueblo
assigned Lic says that unless or until Leo can read, write or do sign language,
there is nothing the Lic can do for him.
Leo’s eyeballs start doing circles in their sockets as he decides that
he will read and write in order to get his vengeance on that “tal Isa and
Dionisio”. The guards come and lead LeoSordido
away. NOTE: Is there still no one in El Pueblo who can
give him some crayons or an Etch-A-Sketch to draw the suspects? Geez!
Courtyard of El
MalQuerida: Pablo and Mariano drive
up in their shiny white truck reporting for work. They ask for Camila and Luzma points them to
El Rancho office. Meantime, Luzma and
Pablo hug and smooch, she runs off to school and comes back long enough to tell
Pablo he looks muy quapo today. Smoochies
etc.
El Malquerida Rancho
Office: Camila and Natalia are
talking about Nat quitting her job
because she can no longer be at Buenaventura. Unfortunately, Camila tells Nat that
she cannot resume her place at El Malquerida “for her own good”. Viewerville knows that the good guys want to
keep her away from Daddy Dio who lives there .
Camila, feeling guilty, asks Nat
to trust her about this (protecting Nat?really Camila?) and that soon she will
be able to return to work at the ranch.
Nat makes up a story that she will be okay after quitting her job. Camila offers Nat somes severance pay and a
hug. Nat refuses the former and takes
Camila up on the latter. Mariano and
Pablo bounce in and Nat tells Mariano she will not be returning to
Buenaventura. Mariano is a little puzzled because Pogostick Yago has
been lying to him about getting involved with Nat – Camila and Pablo will be
filling him in.
Viv’s Apartment
(newly designated good guy crash pad of El Pueblo): Daniel makes a call to the good Lic Becerra telling
him to come see him at Viv’s crash pad.
Daniel is changing to Plan B - tells Lic to listen very carefully.
Refugio’s Refuge at
Casa Albarran: Ramon is chomping on
something like a pancake while Ana and Muneca watch. He exclaims that Ana’s Nana is a very good
cook, the house is nice and warm, but he has one little complaint – the bed is
too soft, not like the floor he is used to. Ana finds it funny (chistoso) because a bed
is supposed to soft and warm. Ramon asks
adorable Ana why she didn’t come see him last night. She explains her Papi almost caught her. Ramon worries that he should leave because if
her Papi finds him, he will send Ramon to an orphanage. She tells Ramon that she wisely decided to
tell her Papi about Ramon during the day, not at night (what a sensible child
that she is). Adorable Ana reassures
him that her Papi is a good guy and will only help him. Ramon,
not used to being indoors and wants to go outside. Adorable Ana says they can go wander around
the giant grounds because it is so big they won’t likely get caught.
Living Room at Casa
Albarran: Yago and Cayetano have a
Papi to Pogostick talk. Cayetano has
been thinking and realizes that there is more to Pogostick Yago than he thought
before. He realizes that they both have
the passion for the bulls unlike Yago’s other brothers and that he has been unfair to Yago. Besides, they will be spending more time
together (the other sons have pretty much told Papi to butt out of their
lives). He says that he loves Yago. Yago is suspicious and points out that Pops loves Pablo more, and
Cayetano sort of agrees but says “Look where it go me, Pablo is no longer
here”. Yayy for Yago, he scores one with Pops.
Yago’s phone rings and upon answering, he gets muy excited reporting to
Cayetano that the bull he picked from El Malquerida for some recent bullfight was
“pardoned” (indultar). Note to viewerville: It seems that if the bull outwits the fighter,
the bull’s life is spared and the is paraded around the ring. This is apparently an honor for the rancher
that bred the bull. Pogostick Yago gets
a new notch on his belt because it seems he picked the bull that was granted
the “pardon”. Yago also wants to congratulate Camila, as the head of
the ranch that bred the bull. Papi is
very proud of him and says Yago sure can pick ‘em! Pops wants to personally go and tell Camila
the good news. Yago, wonders aloud about
the sudden interest in being neighborly on Pop’s part. Viewerville thinks it has to do with a
certain sociopathic seductress we all know and love to hate, Isavibora.
Kitchen of Casa
Albarran: Rocio and Refugio are
having another talk about those crazy Albarran boys. Rocio laments how empty the house seems
without Pablo. Refugio tells her she
will be even lonlier when Mariano finishes building his new house and moves
into it. Rocio complains about this too
and Refugio reminds her that it was Rocio who encouraged Mariano to buy the
land. Rocio pouts that this was different
times and when she had “a family”.
Refugio wisely counsels Rocio that she needs to swallow her pride about
those crazy girls from El Malquerida if she doesn’t want to lose the family all
together. Rocio screws up her face and says she doesn’t want the boys
involved with those girls from across the street. Refugio scolds that Rocio is blaming the
wrong people – Camila and Luzma – and making others pay for her own
mistakes. Said mistake seems to be
that Rocio was just another fling for Daniel Sr
(translation: “he was just not that into
you”). Rocio may very well end up being
to blame for more Albarran family problems if she continues with her attitude
and everyone will end up on their own (cada quien hale por su lado).
El Malquerida Rancho
Office: Back at the office with
Pablo, Mariano and Camila, it is clear that Mariano has been enlighted that
Pogostick Yago has been lying to him and has indeed had a fling with Natalia
and that is why she has renounced her job at Buenaventura. The phone rings- Camila answers- Lic Becerra
is on the line. He reports that he has just
spoken to Desperate Daniel and that Daniel has made a radical decision that can
further damage his struggle for his own vindication.
Isa’s Viper Den at El
Malquerida: Ximena reports to Isa
that she has told Camila what happened
between Ximena and AlLocoLonso. Isa
clucks about how strange it is to have raised a son that is so twisted (in Al’s
case it seems to be nurture over nature ma’am).
Ximema is relieved that she is no
longer engaged to AlLocoLonso (cuz he’s crazy) and by the way, the bad guy they
hired is on board and for his cash advance
to put their evil plan into play (cuz they’re crazy). Ximena gets cold feet in her thigh high
boots and wonders aloud if the plan is too harsh. Isa is not pleased with Ximena’s doubts walks up to her, grabs her face and
reminds Ximena of her sorry state in life; either Ximena will go to jail for
stealing clothes in Monterrey, or, she goes to jail for being an accomplice of
Isa. Isa threatens Ximena that her
hands are dirty, just like Isa’s (hey, maybe that is why Al keeps sanitizing
his hands?).
Dio’s Office: Speaking of the aforementioned Al, he arrives
at Dio’s office (sanitizing his hands in fact) claiming to have an appointment
with Dio. Omar looks doubtful but
Al smirks at Omar having the nerve to
question Al and his meetings with
Dio. Al confidently strolls into Dio’s
office and closes the door. Al sneaks
around, finds what appears to be Dio’s phone and steals the chip (SIM card)
from it. Omar comes in and reports that
he called Dio and Dio has no appointment with Al. Al plays the “gawwllly –how come I always get
my dates mixed up ” and slips out with
the evidence that is Dio’s phone card.
Viv’s Apartment
(newly designated good guy crash pad of El Pueblo): Camila shows up at the crash pad while
Daniel is rearranging his bandages for viewerville to appreciate. She storms in and asks him what about this
“estupidez” he is about to commit – is he really going to turn himself in? Daniel confirms that yes, he is going to turn
himself into the police. She asks
why? Daniel explains that everyone knows
who he is, including Al, and soon Isa and Dio will know and he has not yet
succeeded in revealing their deception.
He reasons that if the longer he waits, the more the police are going to
ask questions, taking him in and then he leaves Camila unprotected. Camila yells at him that if he does turn
himself in, he will be returned back to Chile. “ Yes”, he agrees. “Why are you doing this?” she returns. “Because I have nothing to lose and nothing
to struggle for”, says Daniel (guilt tripping Camila a lot in my opinion). She
returns with, “What if I tell you we can redo our life together, you won’t go
right?” She yells at him about being so
close to proving his innocence. He asks
her “Porque te importa?” She says
because it is stupid. He reminds her
that she told him she doesn’t want him in her life and that he is prepared to
set her free to do whatever and with whomever she wants… “You said basta”, he
repeats her words to her. “En serio?”
she asks. …….“Divina tuuuuuu”…… plays throughout the scene. Camila pauses
…. and blurts out,…. “I surrender(me
rindo!).” Daniel looks puzzled,
“Que?” She says, “What, you don’t know
this word in Chile? “ and proceeds to repeat the phrase for him “Me rindo a ti,
me rindo a mi, a nuestro amor”. A further pause ensues while she gets over
herself and she says that she was really
really mad at him over the lies and deception, but she would rather be really
mad at him rather than be without him.
She says that the truth is that she has never been as happy as she has
been with him and she cannot go on being mad and upset. Daniel has brought color to her life and it
is no longer grey. She begs him not to
leave her and all this love between the two of them, “Por favor?”. Daniel just stares at her while she has her
lovey fit. She finishes and he maintains
a straight face and charmingly says “Te amo.”
The war is over and the white flag of surrender is waving over our newly
reunited lovey birds. They compare who
missed each others’ smoochies more. He asks how she found out about his plan. She tells him that it was Lic Becerra that
alerted her – to which he makes a note to thank him. He tells her how hard it is to be around her
and not be with her. She tells him that
she was hurt but her heart told her to forgive him. He tells her he is glad she listened to her
heart and not her head. They swear they will love each other forever through
all the obstacles (that viewerville knows are coming). He asks her what she just said. She says she
has made a decree (decreto) that Daniel and Camila need to be together
forever. “Juntos, siempre juntos,” she
adds “the heart demands this” (manda el corazon). Daniel assures her she will
not
Dio’s Office: We return to the bad guys. Bruno admits to
Dio that he has been caught trying to plant cameras and microphones at Viv’s
crash pad. Dio is furious that the good
guys will try to link him to Bruno and swears to Bruno that he will deny
it. He will accuse Bruno of stalking his
ex. Dio says he must listen in on the
good guys but Bruno says there is no way.
Dio is even more furious and throws Bruno out of his office – not before
Bruno asks for his severance pay. Dio
tells him to get out before he gets really mad and gives Bruno what he thinks
he deserves. Bruno catches on and
skeedaddles.
Cell Phone Store at
El Pueblo: Al takes the chip he
stole from Dio’s phone and bribes the shopkeeper to give him a report of the
calls made over the last six months. In
particular, Al asks him to look for Julian’s number. Al tells him to name his price to snoop in
Dio’s phone records for him.
Streets of El Pueblo: Ximena calls Bruno and tells him she has the
money. They agree to meet.
Chile’s Police
Station: Lic Teresa is at the police
station looking for Captain Abraham, Miriam’s brother. No one can help her. She leaves her business card with Abraham’s
assistant and tells him she is visiting from Mexico and is investigating the
case of Daniel Diaz Acosta. She wants to
see the charges and the case against him.
El Pueblo Church
Courtyard: Tolentino and Padre
Anselmo stroll together. Tolentino has
given up on Luzma and is going to join the seminary. Padre tells Tolentino that the seminary is
not a refuge for the lovelorn, it is for those with an honest calling for the
profession. He tells Tolentino to give
it time and he will find himself a very nice chamaca. A messenger delivers a letter to Padre from
Chile, he opens it and tells Tolentino to watch the church for him while he
visits Lic Becerra.
Viv’s Apartment
(newly designated good guy crash pad of El Pueblo): Viv and Rafa come home. Aaron
reports that Daniel and Camila are in the other room and have been for some
time. Viv wonders if they have
reconciled. Camila and Daniel emerge
announcing their reconciliation. Everyone
is happy, Viv wipes away a tear and Rafa gives “rancher” Camila a big hug. Viv and Camila say their respective
perdoname’s and hug some more. Camila
hug Aaron and says he is her friend now.
Everyone is happy happy and more happy.
Living Room of El
Malquerida: Cayetano and Pogostick
Yago arrive asking for Camila. Isavibora
greets them and gushes about what an honor to have them visit the ranch. Pablo and Mariano emerge and Cayetano wonders
what Pablo is doing there. Pablo lets
Pops know he is now the administrator of this ranch. Pops looks scornfully at
Pablo and Pablo excuses himself to return to work. Yago gets up to leave and Mariano accompanies
him out (Yago: lecture alert!). Left
alone, Cayetano gushes back to Isavibora and comes up with a swell plan to give Isa a tour of
his ranch while they wait for Camila.
Offf couuurrrrrse, says Isadora and she slips out to put on something
comfy, er, her walking shoes. Cayetano
checks her out as she leaves.
Courtyard of El
Malquerida: Mariano and Yago walk out and Mariano lectures Yago about lying
to him about seeing Nat. Mariano tells
Yago that Natalia has quit her job because of him. Yago shrugs it off as her
problem. Mariano tells him to stay away
from Nat and leaves. Yago turns around
to see Rodolfo staring him down. Rodolfo warns Yago that Natalia is not alone. Yage sneers at him that Nat likes a good life
and he is the one who has shown her that.
Besides, Yago says, “she’s not into you”. Rodolfo tells Yago he promised his boss that
he wouldn’t break Yago’ s head open, but that he will be looking out for Nat. Pogostick Yago struts off smugly saying
something about being a superhero, nya nyah nyahhhh!
Dio’s Office: Nat comes to see Dio to ask about the
job. Dio gushes all over Nat telling her
to call him Dio, not Senor. He slips in
a few “hijas” to the unsuspecting
Nat. She agrees to work for him as long
as he keeps it a secret to avoid problems.
Dio is happy to do that. Nat
thought bubbles that working for Dio will allow her to gather evidence to prove
Daniel’s innocence without anyone knowing she is doing that (clever Nat, who
knew?).
Courtyard of El
Pueblo’s Church: Amanda runs into
Agustina and asks her how her marriage is (doesn’t everyone ask that?). Agustina gushes about how all is wonderful
even though she knows so little about Dio. He turned out to be a real prince of a
husband. Amanda tells Agustina that she
once married a man she knew very little about and it was a disaster. She warns
Agustina to be very careful that the same doesn’t happen to her. Amanda takes leave and Agustina is left with
her mouth open wondering what that was all about.
Viv’s Apartment
(newly designated good guy crash pad of El Pueblo): Lic Becerra arrives and Daniel thanks him
for his indiscretion in telling Camila of his plan to turn himself in. Lic Becerra is pleased to know that this
resulted in Camila and Daniel getting back together again. Lic Bec says he has more good news and pulls out Daniels….. birth
certificate! Finally, the good guys can
begin the paperwork for Daniel to claim his inheritance.
Random Restaurant in
El Pueblo: Ximena meets up with
Bruno and gives him the money. He asks
if she is sure that she wants him to “do this to her sister”. Yes, Ximena assures him, and make it look
like AlLocoLonso is to blame. It looks
like Ximena and Isa are paying Bruno to attack Camila. The two of them, Al and Camila, will be the
one to suffer the most Ximena says with just a little too much satisfaction in
her eyes. Vengeance is thy name, Ximena!
Hi All! I wanted to get this posted ASAP for all to swoon and comment. I have a nasty little cold which is challenging my little pea brain. I am not positive about all the bull stuff, but I think I got the main idea. I will re-read this after I feel better in case I left in some spelling goofs etc.
ReplyDeleteMena- What an amazing job you did despite having a nasty cold. Thank you so much for making such a huge effort for us. This was indeed the episode many of us have been waiting for. Love the title. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved all the kisses between Dan and Cam, as well as the reconciliation with the amigos. I thought it was cute that Dan jokingly got jealous about the Cam-Rafa hug, and then told the amigos to look away as he and Cam smooched some more. Ahh, love. I also enjoyed Luzma telling Pablo how hadsome he looked and giving him some smooches.
All this love can only mean one thing-- something really bad is about to happen. And it looks like Bruno, Isa and Xi will be behind it.
One clarification-- the phone chip Al got was from Julian's phone. Remember, Dio had D'Andres recover the phone after Julian was killed, and D'Andres found it in Leo's room. Al gave the cell phone store guy the chip and Dio's phone number.
Mena, this is a terrific recap! There's no sign whatsoever that you wrote it while under the weather. I've got an appointment to get to, so I won't say more now, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU and assure you that the recap is great! (And I really appreciated the info about pardoning the bull--I knew nothing whatsoever about that.)
ReplyDeleteMena - thanks so much for your recap. I hope you recover from your cold quickly.
ReplyDeleteVivi - you said what most of us know. "All this love can only mean one thing-- something really bad is about to happen."
And the writers foreshadowed what will break-up Cam and Dan with Teresa meeting up w/Abe's lackey, who knows Dan was railroaded. I think Miriam will be alive (it's a guess) though probably in a coma and by now the baby should be out of the womb.
I'm hoping Luzma and Pablo won't be messed with anymore but wonder what could happen? The only thing I can think of is the identity of Pablo's real dad comes to light. But he's handled most of the crisis he has faced well. My bet is that he'll have to help his parents, who are foolish, through this problem.
Thanks Mena, yes FINALLY! At least they didn't make us wait until the gran finale.
ReplyDeleteYou description of Dion and Aggie at the beginning was hilarious.
My cc's kept writing Alonso instead of Leonsio, they obviously don't watch the show.
So Nat has decided all by her very self to be the double agent I was hoping she would. Good girl. We all know that her family would never let her do it if they knew.
Cayetano is turning into quite a dog. (Although I can't really blame him being married to that witch, not that that excuses him)
Gotta go, be back later for more excitement.
Great work, Mena. I have to leave in a few minutes so I will say more later.
ReplyDeleteThe chain of evidence has been broken. If this were happening in the US Alonssso has invalidated the evidence from the SIM card by not turning it into the police (or having them recover it in the first place).
Thanks Viv for a detail that flew over me. It makes more sense now because I was wondering why Dio did not have his phone with him and wasn't sure about why he gave the phone guy both names and numbers....
ReplyDeleteAlso, did you get the name Choli? I almost called her Chonie, but that is short for undergarments to me(i.e. calcones).
This had some good vocab in it - from bull fighting to the police station in Chile.
Mena- I didn't pay close attention when Piedad said her name, but Choli sounds right to me. Boy will she really be ticked off when she learns that Leoncio killed BOTH her sons. Granted, it doesn't seem that criminal Julian was as beloved as good guy Fidencio, but it's going to still hurt to know her twin sons were killed by the same person, and because of the same person (Piedad). You would think she'd at least want to know about her granddaughter though.
ReplyDeleteI was VERY confused by the discussion between Piedad and Choli. Not only did the subtitles say that Piedad's brother "Alonso" killed her husband-to-be, but so seemingly did Choli. I went back and watched the scene again, and only by KNOWING that she was saying "Leonicio" could I manage to convince myself that that was what she said. I would never have thought that the two names would sound so similar.
ReplyDeleteGreat recap, Mena. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteFlaco was just saying yesterday that he thought Leo would be able to learn to read and write in prison.
Pablo/Luz scene—cute.
Thought Xi was having second thoughts about Al (she was twisting her ring). I see it was from her not being totally on board re: Cam.
Good on Al for stealing the SIM card.
Cam and Dan together again!!!!!
Teresa is getting closer to the truth that Miriam is alive.
Looking forward to Iago’s downfall.
Vivi: I hope that her grief over her sons (and she’s bound to find out about Julian) will not keep her from trying to connect with her granddaughter.
Loved all the Cam/Dan/Scooby Gang scenes. In fact, I kept the recording so I can watch them again.
Nanette
I am glad that the phone chip thing was cleared up by Mena and Vivi. I didn't get what was happening. I thought it was a SD card with pictures or something with Dion's phone but it didn't make sense because I couldn't remember what pictures he had. I really hope Al is successful in getting that phone info to the goodguys.
ReplyDeleteDo the goodguys know that Bruno works for Dion?
CathyX, Yes, Viv figured out that only Bruno had seen Aaron at her house, told Dio he recognized him in a phonto and that is how Dio knew Aaron fake Daniel was staying there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am glad you mentioned it... when I saw Al remove the SIM card, I thought it looked pretty big for a SIM card and more like the memory chip from a camera. I chalked the weird size up to the phone being an older version.
Mena, so then if the goodguys know that Bruno was bugging the place, they must figure that Dion told him to do it. And hopefully they will tell Camila this too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was quite an old cell phone Julian had. Not surprised that the SIM card was large. I just switched from one smart phone that I've only had for a year, to another, and was suprised by how much smaller the SIM card was in the new phone.
ReplyDeleteI looked up when the missing Friday episode will air on the west coast, and my tv guide says Sunday morning at 2:00am. It shows that the telethon goes all Friday night, through Saturday until Saturday night.
ReplyDeleteCathyx- Wow! 2:00 am on Sunday (Saturday night). That sucks! I hope you West Coast people all have dvrs or vcrs so that you can record it.
ReplyDeleteIs it anyone else puzzled by Leoncio's bandages? Even when he was lying in a hospital bed it didn't make sense to have bandages covering more than three-quarters of his head for a wound inside his mouth. But now? Has he been on an IV all this time?
ReplyDeleteCough, cough, blehhh...
ReplyDeleteA comment that I just wanted to add. Cayetano acts like such a pinhead. He is cranky, controlling and has a roving eye. I haven't seen much to make him a likeable character except he has nice eyes, maybe. Same with Rocio.
Cathyx, The fact that the gumshoe gang knows Bruno works for Dio is why Dio got realllly mad that Bruno was caught. He said he did not want to be linked to Bruno and would say that Bruno is just stalking Viv and not working for him.
ReplyDeleteWoooWooo Mena! Yep, I got to swoon and now I get to comment. Great recap. Feel better, amiga (I'm in the same boat you are).
ReplyDeleteQuien es el mas guapo del mundo???? Camila certainly knows and me thinks Silvia N. knows, too. Man, Daniel could hardly talk with all the kissies she was giving him. A lot of what went on in Team Scooby Doo's pad just had to be ad-libbed--it just sounded so natural.
So Xi had second thoughts on what Isa has planned for Cam. She traded her half-sister's life (?) or at least something terrible happening to her in return for staying out of prison for a couple of years. She must have thought about all the shopping she wouldn't be able to do from behind bars. No punishment is good enough for her in my book.
All this plotting and planning and double-crossing and spying and changing alliances is kinda leaving poor FX completely out of the picture. Boy is he going to feel a tad engañado when he finds out who his real son is. I wonder if Isa will give him any of the share of money that she expects. (I use the term loosely, since all Viewerville knows she ain't ending up with the ranch--although at the end she might have "bought" the ranch.) Wouldn't it be funny if FX and Caperucita Roja end up back together? Two superfluous souls in the larger scheme of things.
Vivi--I missed completely whose phone that was. It makes sense that it would have been Julian's. But I thought I heard Al say to the Radioshack man that it was Dio's and to look for calls between him and a Julian. Maybe Al didn't know either, but is sure there will be some conversation between Dio and Julian. Although, what does that prove? Dio has admitted Julian worked for him. Only if the source on certain dates of the calls will it do him any good (Chile and Aculco).
Someone asked a couple of episodes ago if Dio was sincere about his feelings towards Natalia. I think we got a little hint last night. He's using the same flattery techniques he used on Gussie when seducing her. I think the man is incapable of real love or affection and that Amanda and baby Natalia represented a stable family, a front, so to speak, behind which he could carry on his nefarious schemes. They were necessary property. For her to have left HIM, was betrayal of the highest order (he probably neglected her the way he neglected Gussy after landing her). He lives for schemes, so this one of getting close to Natalia and winning her over is to hurt Amanda more than anything else. He will probably get his jollies out of being the one to tell Natalia who he really is. Poor Natty, spying on the father she thought was dead--where does that put her loyalties.
I loved the ending of the Scooby Doo love fest when Daniel says about his legal problems, the difference between now and then is that when I was in prison, I was alone, but now I have friends.
Camila probably reflected on what she was doing to Natalia, not letting her come back to work at La Malquerida, is exactly what Dan did to her--food for thought.
I think part of Dan's plan was to have Oswaldo call Camila. It would be the only way for him to be sure that she did or did not want to be with him again. He said as much toward the end of their conversation when he said it hurt him more to stay and be around her, but not WITH her.
You can tell I'm under the weather, I've been wordier than usual.
Anita
Piedad called the lady "Doña Chole." Chole is a diminutive of "Soledad."
ReplyDeleteThanks a mil for such an enjoyable recap. I was so happy that Camila realized that her pride was about to cost her the love of her life. Since we're only half way through the novela, we are all aware that there's trouble brewing ahead. My prediction is that their love for each other won't change but similar to destilando amor, something will cause physical distance to seperate them for a while. For example Daniel could end up back in prison in Chile before he is finally exonerated. Another reason I believe that he will be back in Chile is because I believe that Miriam did not survive the come. I believe that Daniel believes that she did not survive. But for closure he will want proof such as visiting the graves of both Miriam and his baby, or at least seeing death certificates. Although my predictions have proved false 99 out of 100 times, I can't forsee any logical reason for Miriam, who really is an innocent victim to end up getting such a raw deal as losing the man she truly loved.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Will someone explain the reason why the Agent in Chile told Teresa she couldn't talk to Miriam's brother the cop (I'm blocking on his name). I didn't understand any of that dialogue.
Thanks.
Chole! Thanks Anon 3:03.
ReplyDeleteThe Chile brother's name is Abraham. I didn't catch much of the dialogue either but it seemed like something was being hidden. Or the cop-in-charge just didn't trust Teresa's reasons for being there.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad Natalia isn't the yellow-frosted cupcake she seemed. Just hope she doesn't get into too much trouble here, which she probably will.

Foxy--I didn't catch all the Chile convo either, but I gathered that Abe is no longer available because: he's either retired, not working there any more or was assigned to another location, far, far away. Plot device to keep Viewerville on the edge a little longer.
ReplyDeleteAnita- Al knew Dio had Julian's phone. In fact, Dio had originally asked Al to find that phone, and Al hung about the police station after the discovery of Julian's body to see if he could hear anything about what they found with the body. I'm pretty sure he knows that phone is not Dio's because Dio has a slick, black modern cell phone. He asked the guy at the cell phone store to find calls between the person to whom this card belongs, named Julian Hernandez, and this person at this phone number (he writes Dio's cell phone number down, which he would know-- he wouldn't know Julian's #), whose name is Dionisio Ferrer.
ReplyDeletePlus, Dion would have his phone with him, not in a drawer.
ReplyDeleteIt seemed to me that the police guy was just being evasive as to Teresa not being able to talk to Abraham. I kept waiting for him to say where he was, i.e. transferred, on long vacation, retired, ill, but he never did.
Muchas gracias for that fabulous recap, Mena! I hope you're feeling better soon. As someone else said, no signs in your recap that you're fighting a bad cold!
ReplyDeleteWell, so glad that the war is over between Camila and Daniel. A great scene all around at the Scooby Doo residence.
Mena- Thanks. Hope you feel better real soon. “... while Daniel is rearranging his bandages for viewerville to appreciate” – lol
ReplyDeleteSo one day Al is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The next day he's cool and calm, stealing the phone chip.
Love Ximena’s fuschia dress. I guess she was showing off her bruises as part of the set-up against Al?
The most horrible literacy PSA I've ever seen. So sordido is going to learn to read and write to get even. I pity his tutor.
Abraham is too young to retire. However, I suspect that the cop Teresa talked to thinks that Abraham abused his authority in having Daniel arrested.
ReplyDeleteRemember also that we never saw a funeral for Miriam or even a doctor declaring her dead. We can't be sure of her condition until Teresa finds out what happened and talks to doctors in that hospital.
Does anyone remember how much time has passed since Miriam was shot? She was 6-8 weeks pregnant in that episode.
The cop had been Abe's deputy. He recognized the name DDA, that Ter gave him. I don't believe he thinks Abe abused his authority by having Dan arrested--there weren't any other good suspects and Dante was out of town at the time--but probably does think he abused his authority by having Dan thrown into prison without any hope of a trial.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who took the rap for the prison break. I don't think Abe was in charge of the prison system. Does anyone know the connection there?
UA--I think we tried to do a timeline on how long Dan has been away from Miriam and Chile. Vivi or Anon207 would probably know best. I guess I'd better add that to our Operation Shine the Light.
BTW--I have found it nigh impossible to detail the changing alliances without explaining the whole frickin' story to no good end, so we'll just have to go with the flow.
I will add the list of songs that Vivi furnished.
I think we got a clue about the timeline when Al asked the cell phone store guy to look at calls going back 6-7 months. So that's likely when Julian was in Chile. That would put Miriam at the end of her pregnancy if she's alive (coma?) and if she went to term.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you all think of Dan falling in love with Cami so quickly after the loss of Miriam? In my mind, when you find love, you find love, and you should hang on to it. It doesn't diminish the love you felt for the last person. But I know others might feel it was too soon.
ReplyDeleteVivi: I'm trying to get the timeline straight in my head. How long between the time that Dan escaped and he turned up in town?
ReplyDeleteUnder the heading of All Things Considered, I think Daniel needed a refuge: Between the time he was in the prison and then on the run always looking over his shoulder, that must have felt like an eternity. Some people come out of experiences like that looking like they've aged 10 years.
ReplyDeleteHowever, he will need a death certificate from Chile before marrying Camila and I think Teresa will have to investigate that.
Vivi is right on the six -month timing; infact when Camila received her divorce she made a point of saying it has been six month since .... the police officer was Abraham Farcas adjudent -- he was the one that conducted the investigation on Daniel when Miriam was shot. Basically, Theresa went first to the courthouse to find Daniel's arrest file but there was none and then when she asked to see AF; the assistant told her that he requested a leave of absence from his job. He wasn't trying to evade her questions but was somewhat perplexed to hear the mention of Daniel -- ...
ReplyDeleteMyo-
Myo--That's exactly how it happened. Thank you for putting all the characters in the right place.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mena. A great recap and when you weren't feeling well. Our recapperss are so very dedicated and wonderful to us.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that when Camila gets over her anger, she is something. How wonderfully loving to all, including her "guapo" Daniel! So cute, so natural, so long awaited by us fans, who got our money's worth last night.
I believe that Dionisio cannot love, only control. But I think he may intend to use Natalia as well, to get back at Amanda and who knows what else. She thinks she can be a double-agent but she's with the nasty double-crosser of all time. He and Isadora are supreme villains.
I was wondering about Abraham. Is he searching for Dan? Has he taken Miriam and her child and "hidden" them away.
ReplyDeleteRe: the Dan falling in love too fast topic. Flaco thinks that it's possible for him to have been deeply in love with Miriam and then fallen deeply in love with Cam.
I think UA has an excellent point that because of the kind of life Dan has lived since Miriam "died" it seeming like an eternity of time has passed.
Vivi, to answer your question, I do think there has to be some bit of time between the death of a loved one and being open to another one. But we have to remember that Dan went through a lot since Miriam supposedly died. I'm not sure how long he was in prison before he broke out, let's say a month. Then he worked odd jobs on a ship on his way to travel to Mexico. Then he jumped ship and swam to shore, Almost died himself, got picked up by an old lady who took care of him until he was well. Then he traveled to Mexico.
ReplyDeleteEven though the time may have only been say 3-4 months since her 'death', so much happened to Dan during the time that I think it's possible to get past the mourning period more quickly than if you had just continued your life as you had but without the loved one.
And then you just happen to meet someone who you have an immediate attraction to. Like you feel you have known that person for a long time, even though you've never met before. Most people never meet someone like that, but I'm sure if you ever did, it's an incredible feeling. And that's what I think happened to Dan.
Timeline musings--
ReplyDeleteDan was probably in prison for a month or more before the break-out. The others would have needed some time to feel him out to see if he was trustworthy. He also had several visits from his attorney before the guy cut him off and the last visit from Abe telling him Miriam was dead. And those phone calls to La Malquerida.
Once he broke out, he was on the run for awhile before he got on that ship to Mexico. When he was washed up on shore, the old curandera, who gave him the medal, probably had him for another couple of weeks. (In my memory, I always admired how no matter where he was or for how long he was anywhere, our Hunkalicious was always clean shaven.)
So, once he arrives in Aculco, maybe a week and checks in at Amanda's hostel and gets his bearings, what, another week or so before he gets the job at LaMalquerida?
From then on, he worked fast on winning Camila.
So, if Miriam was at about 6 weeks pregnant, 6 months is the very least he could have been gone up until the reconciliation.
Dan never said how long it had been since Miriam died when he was telling Camila his story in episode #54.

ReplyDeleteCathyx: I like what you say here: "And then you just happen to meet someone who you have an immediate attraction to. Like you feel you have known that person for a long time, even though you've never met before. Most people never meet someone like that, but I'm sure if you ever did, it's an incredible feeling. And that's what I think happened to Dan."
ReplyDeleteThanks Nannette, I think Flaco and I are on the same page.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that men who were deeply in love, and then lose that love to death, easily fall in love again because it was so good the first time that they yearn to have that feeling and fulfillment again as soon as possible, even if it is unconscious. I've often asked that question when I see men re-marry quickly after their first wives die. This was the explanation that was given to me ... by men.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have to mention the way that Isadora was switching out of the room! As we used to see, "she almost broke something!"
ReplyDelete(Thanks for the great recap Mena!)
In total agreement with all of you ladies and Flaco. I'm sure Dan feels very lucky to have found Camila. Just as he brought color to her life, that she says was grey (after the death of Luis 3 years before), she did the same for him.
ReplyDeleteCathyx: Yes, you and Flaco are on the same page.
ReplyDeleteHe's gone even further and said that even if Dan met Cam while he was living his life with Miriam, he would have fallen in love her.
"falllen in love WITH her."
ReplyDelete"He's gone even further and said that even if Dan met Cam while he was living his life with Miriam, he would have fallen in love her."
ReplyDeleteI do too, if what I said about about what it must have been like when they met was actually what happened.
Cam & Dan were both electrified when their hands touched and their eyes met in the restaurant after the flowers dropped onto the floor. Had they never seen each other again, it would have been one of those special memories for both of them. (Remember how she looked around for him and he was gone?) However, since they continued to cross paths, it was just a matter of time before they acknowledged being in love with each other.
ReplyDeletenetgirl--I've heard about that phenomenum, too, but from widows.
I meant phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteAnita; you're right that Dan never mentioned the timing of when Miriam "died" during his tete-a-tete with Cam; however, it was exactly three months from the day that Don Daniel died and when Dan finally arrived in town -- the same day that Alonso met with Beccera in town attempting to bribe him into finding a loophole to circumvent the will and Beccera told him then that they only have nine more months left until Daniel can legally claim his inheritance -- and Also Camila had told her mom that she has been married for three months and nothing sexual happened between Al and her.
ReplyDeleteDan was jailed for about two months because only one month had passed from the time he escaped to when he arrived in Aculco (cap 14-15).
Myo-
Myo--Thanks for the aclaracion. Of course, now I remember the Oswaldo conversation taking place. That makes building the time-line easier!!
ReplyDeleteWhy would Abraham need a leave of absence unless it has something to do with Miriam?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for clearing up the Teresa - Abe discussion. Wonder what Abe's leave of absence is all about?
ReplyDeletePaternity leave maybe, for Miriam's baby?
ReplyDeleteKelly
Mena, I just love that title!!!!And you can tell how relieved Camilla was giving her loved one showers of kisses. Love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat catch, Vivi regarding the sim card.
Cathyx, how true what you said. This feeling is the same as those of "love at first sight","first love never ever dies", "love is wonderful, the second time around" and so forth. Love has many name and all of them wonderful.
I only hope that this happiness would not be short-lived.
I've just watched tonight's episodio (i.e., Thursday's). I had been under the impression that the East Coast was going to see tomorrow's (Friday's) episodio an hour early because of the Teleton, but the avances speak about Lunes. In other words, there may be no Amor Bravio until Monday. Does anyone have any definite info about this?
ReplyDeleteJuanita--I caught that, too. I checked Univision's schedule and they are calling it Amor Bravio - La Gran Noche (the same thing they are calling Corona de Lagrimas - La Gran Noche). My suspicion is that it is a compilation? or maybe just a repeat. In any case, I would check in at 8:59 tomorrow evening and see. If you pre-record it, well, you'll either have it or something else in the time slot.
