The Old
In Casa Dio, Natalia secures a job with Dioniso, deciding to
be a super secret double agent for the Justice League. In front of the church,
Amanda gives Gussy cryptic warnings about her man of mystery husband. At Vivi’s
Casa, Camila and Daniel smooch and canoodle in front of their amigos like
teenagers. Licenciado Bacerra arrives with Dan’s birth certificate, freshly
arrived from Chile. The group rejoices because now Dan can prove he exists and
can finally claim his inheritance. Meanwhile, in a restaurant in town, Ximena
confirms her reservation in Hell by handing Bruno a fat wad of pesos to enact
some malevolent plan on her sister Camila, for which ALonSoLoco will be blamed.
You know you’ve gone too far when Bruno has to ask you if you’re sure you want
to do this to your own sister.
The New
Hissssadora has changed into her most sexy, tight,
high-waist pants, and military bomber jacket for her walk down Money Lane with
Cayetano. At least that’s obviously what Isadora has christened the extensive
fields of Hacienda La Buenaventura, as she calculates the peso to acre value in
her fiendish brain. Cayetano orders one
of his ranch hands to let the bulls loose for a run through the enclosed
pasture. (Fancy cars, athletic prowess, member size, sexual longevity,
BULLS…there are many ways men try to prove their virility. But all Cayetano
needs to do to impress Isa is wave around some Benjamins.)
Ximena and Bruno are also working their fiendish brains
around the subject of money. He’s surprised to learn that she hates her sister
this much, but at the end of the day, all he cares about is the money. He wants
the second half of his payment for the dirty deed in US Dollars. He had thought
he was going to make himself comfortable in Aculco (to stalk Vivi), but after
this risky job, he wants to leave as soon as possible—perhaps go abroad (al
extranjero), and return again after a while. Xi doesn’t care. As long as he’s
around long enough to finish the job, only then will he get the rest of the
money. Bruno assures her, with his slimiest smile, that she’ll be 100%
satisfied.
Cayetano continues to talk bull to Isa, who pretends to be
interested. Toros de lidia and toros de gordo have to be able to run
free in order to be muscular and strong. He takes her to a small shelter house
where they can safely watch the bulls run.
We head back to the love fest at Casa Vivi. Dan and Cam continue
to make out like the cool kids in the corner. Everyone else pretends that the
two of them are listening to them and continue to converse. Osvaldo is very
happy that Dan has backed away from Plan B (aka, turn himself in to the popo).
Camila is also happy that El Más Guapo has changed his mind. She
gives him a few last appreciative kisses, but then announces that she has to go
back to the ranch to work, especially now that Natalia has resigned, and to
deal with Alonso. Both Dan and Osvaldo are concerned to hear about Nat. Cam
doesn’t go into the details, but both Dan and Os can guess the reasons. Os is
sure Amanda is more at ease with Nat being far away from He Who Shall Not Be
Named-- the other one, not the one without a tongue. (If only they knew!) Os
says he’ll offer Nat a job at his notary office. Cami leaves Dan with a few
more kisses and words of love, and makes sure the whole Scooby Gang knows to
give Dan his next dose of medication in TWO HOURS.
Aaron brings up the one worry he has about Dan revealing his
true identity to all—the fact that Andres Duarte never gave his police
statement, and is/was a suspect in the de-tonguing of Leoncio. Rafa offers to
go to the police station to find out the status on that case, while Os says
he’ll work on seeing that Dan can make a statement about Leon shooting him,
despite the changed identity. Os is the next to leave the Justice League
meeting, and Dan is sent off to bed to rest, like a good little boy.
The bull(sh*t) keeps passing between and in front of Isa and
Cayetano. Isa marvels at the size of his…herd of bulls. She takes his hand
“innocently” as they speak, and says how comfortable, safe and protected she
feels in this place (with him). A perfect place to witness (presenciar) a great
spectacle! (Evil glowing snakelike green eyes.)
Camila arrives home on the range to be greeted by the last
person she would want to see—ex-hubby, attempted rapist, woman beater
ALonSoLoco. What a buzz kill after spending the morning smooching with Dan the
Man. He tells her that he will soon have proof that Dionisio sent Julian to Chile
to kill Dan. Cami crosses her arms and wants to know what is this supposed
proof? A record of calls and messages between Dio and Julian when Julian was in
Chile committing the murder. Dio is the one who contracted the hit on Daniel,
Al says. Camila flashes back to Dionisio offering to check on the Daniel case
while he was “coincidentally” going to Chile on business. Al says he’ll have
the record of the calls in a few days, then he hopes she’ll be able to forgive
him, and then he’ll leave forever. Camila is more than happy to see the back of
him muy pronto, but wonders if one of the reasons he’s fleeing like a coward is
due to the beatdown (golpisa) he gave her sister. Camila is not buying his
supposed change anymore. She just wants this whole thing over.
Daniel hasn’t yet taken his nap, but he’s in bed (with a
shirt on—BOOO!!) surrounded by the Scooby Gang. Rafa has put all the video and
recording spying equipment they found in the bag Bruno left behind. They all
wonder what, if anything, Dionisio was able to see and hear. They decide that
D’Aaron will call Dio and rain some righteous indignation down on his inflated
head. Dio denies, denies, denies. “Bruno? What Bruno? If I had cameras in your
house, do you think I would have come and asked if you had met with Al?”
D’Aaron gets cheered on silently by the gang as he pushes back on Dio, pointing
out that he sent Bruno after their meeting. He further points out that Bruno
was the only one who knew he was living in Casa Vivi and must have shared that
news with Dio. Dio finally admits he sort of knows some guy named Bruno. But
he’s the one who approached Dio and just offered up the info about D’Aaron. He likely put the cameras in Vivi’s house on
his own, because he’s obsessed with her and wanted to spy on her. D’Aaron says
he doesn’t know whether to believe Dio, but it’s an awfully big coincidence
that Bruno moved on to this type of stalking AFTER he started working for Dio.
Dio throws their own words back in their faces—“Either believe me, or
don’t.” Unable to pin the slippery devil
down, the Gang cuts the call.
Isa and Caye continue their stroll down Bullsh*t Lane, as
she pumps him for info on his family. He inherited from his father, and his
sons will do the same. No, his wife was not from a big bull raising family. She
got the passion for bulls (and b.s.) after she married him. “You and the
Monterdes were never friends?” Cayetano
admits there was a time long ago when Don Daniel was friends with their family.
But they became distanced…right around the time Pablo was born. It was around that time that Rocio asked that
they move to the city. Rocio also didn’t want to come to Don Daniel’s funeral.
“Why?” Cayetano is obviously a man who doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking, so
Isa’s questions seem to make his brain hurt. He doesn’t know. Rocio used to
like Don Daniel, but he really doesn’t know what Don Dan did to make their
relationship go cold. Unlike Cayetano, Isa’s brain gears are working at full
speed, and she seems to have an idea of why Rocio would turn cold towards Don
Dan all of a sudden.
The stroll and the chat/interrogation continue as the two
walk through the Pablo-Luzma passageway of trees between the two ranches. Appropriately enough, they are speaking about
Pablo. Cayetano can’t believe model son Pablo would turn his back on him as he
is doing now. (Oh please!) Ever since he decided to marry the daughter of that
servant, he’s become a stranger. Isa says she can relate. Her prodigal son
ended up divorced and a big disappointment to her. “It must have been so hard
for you, raising him alone.” “I was very
young when I became a widow. I tried to raise him well, give him everything he
needed…I don’t know where I failed.”
Cayetano buys this line of b.s. hook, line and sinker. He is sure Isa
was the best mother in the world. But kids grow up and make their own (wrong)
decisions. Isa is so happy there are
people like him in this world. She gives him a (sickly) sweet smile and takes
his arm. Cayetano is a goner.
In a cemetery up North, Piedad weeps and makes her way
through the graves holding a bunch of flowers. She finally finds Fidencio’s
simple grave and cleans it off. She tells him how much she and his daughter
have missed having him in their lives. She regrets having put her life in Leoncio’s
hands. “I should have believed in you, my love-- in your love.” Suddenly, a
man’s voice calls her name softly, and she looks up to find an old friend. (And
also her soulmate from Cuando Me Enamoro!) “Hipolito?” He heard from folks in
town that she was around here, but he still can’t believe it, after all this
time. Piedad agrees it’s been many years—many years of being deceived and
believing Fidencio had abandoned her, when the reality was different. Hipolito
realizes that she now knows the truth. “Piedad, Fidencio was my best
friend. Leoncio killed him the same day
as your wedding. I saw when he threw him over the side of the ravine
(barranca).” Piedad admits that Leon has also sent Julian to the afterlife to
meet his brother, but that monster who ruined her life is in jail now.
Mariano and Pablo walk as Mariano gives Pablo lessons on
administering the ranch. Pablo seems to be catching on quickly and thanks his
bro. They are joined by Camila, who can’t stop smiling. She tells Mariano that
she’ll tell him all about it later. Mariano can tell it’s good news (not for
you buddy) just by the look on her face. Cami changes the subject and tells the
Albarran boys that she’d like to host the wedding party for Pablo and Luzma at
MQ. It would be an honor for her. Mariano offers to split the costs with
Camila—in fact, he and Camila will be the sponsors/godparents (padrinos) of the
wedding! Camila agrees. Pablo says the honor is his and Luzma’s. He thanks
them. He expects it from Mariano, who is his brother. But Camila has also
become like family-- his new family. (If only they knew!)
We beam over to the neighboring Buenaventura ranch, where
Roman and Ana (who has ditched her ponytails, bows, flowered dresses and ballet
flats, for sensible headbands, long checked shirts, jeans and boots--- sound
familiar?) are running though the fields and bull pens (and making me nervous
that they’ll get attacked by a stray bull). Ana teases Roman about being scared
of the bulls, and they run all the way to the edge of the MQ property where
they encounter Maja. Maja decides to join in the fun and starts running with
them.
Mariano and Camila speak about being romantics—excited about
the wedding of Luzma and Pablo. Mariano points out that there are many people
who stop believing in love after being burned. Camila understands that it can
be difficult after a bad experience. They both agree that Luzma and Pablo are a
great example of the perseverance of love in the face of obstacles. Mariano apologizes,
thinking that Camila (in her sorrow and anger about Dan) is not in the mood to
speak of love. “That’s exactly what I have to tell you…” She breaks off, in
shock to see his papa strolling up to them with Isadora. Mariano looks just as surprised
and worried as Camila to see the pair. Camila can barely form a sentence.
“I…didn’t know you… both were here…” Isa
gushes about Caye showing her around his lands and what a great guy he is.
Mariano and Cami are both still speechless. Mariano encourages his papa to get
to the point of why he came. “El Duende, your bull that Yago chose, has been pardoned
(indultado).” (Meaning, he outdid/outwitted the toreador in the ring.) Camila
is over the moon with happiness. Cayetano gives her the credit for raising and
caring for such a fine specimen of bull. Isa doesn’t get what the fuss is
about, so Mariano explains that the indultado bull will return to the ranch
where he was raised with great honors and will become a stud bull (toro
semental). (Like the offspring of a winning racehorse, these offspring will
likely be worth a LOT of money.) Not only that, Cayetano explains, they will
also have to throw a big party. Camila is totally up for a PARTAY! There is
MUCH to celebrate.
Back at Vivi’s, Rafa is having a bit of writer’s block and
he lays the blame on Aaron for putting the thought of Vivi being more than a
friend in his head. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her. Rafa knows
he denied having romantic feelings, but the real reason was something else. He
thinks Vivi is in love with Aaron. He bases this on the way she looks at him.
She likes sharing her life/world with him. She even wants to go with him to his
Chiapas community. Well Aaron sees the same signs with Rafa-Vivi. They have the
same tastes and interests (gustos) in cooking, wine, art… Rafa is not
convinced. He still thinks Vivi’s heart beats for Aaron. He has Aaron look him
in the eyes and promise that he’s only interested in Vivi as a friend. Aaron
swears it.
Vivi bounces into the living room, followed by Daniel, and
suggests that Aaron go speak to Padre Anselmo about starting up one of his
self-sustaining communities in the area. The gang pledges to help Aaron get it
going, and Vivi is beside herself with excitement to be surrounded by her three
favorite handsome men. They all earn a kiss on the cheek from her and she
places herself right between the brothers with her arms around them.
The gang gets back to speaking about Justice League matters.
Rafa is headed out to the popo to find out if D’Andres is still a suspect in
the tongue-ectomy. Dan suggests that Rafa also tell the cops that the weapon
Leon used to kill Julian is likely in the MQ lake. He remembers seeing Leon
throw something in there shortly after the murder. Vivi calls herself the most
fortunate woman in the world to have thee of the most marvelous, and handsome,
men living with her in her house. (Viewerville heartily agrees Vivi!)
Somewhere on the MQ back forty, Roman throws a tennis ball
for Maja to catch, which bounces off the wall of a brick structure and through
its small door. Maja either has poor eyesight and didn’t see where the ball
went, or was too distracted by some small animal or cute ranch hand, or is too
smart to go jumping into some dark, unknown building. Roman is not as smart as
Maja, and runs headlong into what we eventually realize is an underground grain
silo, and plummets to the bottom where he appears to be unconscious. Ana calls
out to him and then goes running for help.
Outside of the MQ big house, Camila, Mariano, Cayetano and
Isadora stroll and plan the big party for the return of El Duende to the ranch
tomorrow. And of course, all the Alberrans are invited. Isa throws out a catty
remark about not thinking Cami was in the mood to party. Clueless Cayetano
points out that it’s an honor for any rancher to have a toro indultado.
Yago sits by himself on one of the BV ranch dividing walls.
Is he also thinking about the honor of a toro
indultado? Or maybe he’s thinking that the blue checked shirt he’s sporting
brings out his eyes? In any case, he’s bored enough to decide to mess with
Natalia’s head with more games. He may have genuinely convinced himself that he
misses her. Or maybe he just misses having his own personal fan club of one,
staring at him each day with adoring big brown eyes? He decides to text her. (A
text? Really? Why not a call?)
“Princess- I found out
that you resigned. Why did you do it? I need to see you. Many kisses…and
everywhere.” The most pathetic booty
call text, ever! Double agent Natalia gets off a mini-bus from Metepec and gets
the text from Yago. She does not appreciate the booty call aspect of the
message.
Ana comes running up to Mariano, who is sitting with Cami,
Caye and Isa, and in a panic tells them that Timmy…eerr, Roman fell and needs
help! She quickly explains that Roman is a friend and describes the structure
he fell into. Camila immediately realizes that it’s a silo. She runs off with
Mariano and Anna to the truck in order to get to Roman more quickly.
When Mariano, Cami and Ana get to the silo, Roman is still
out cold. Mariano hooks up a rope to the truck and repels his way down into
the silo, while Camila looks down holding on to her Mini-Me Ana. Roman finally
starts to come around, and Mariano ties the boy to him and hauls them both up
on the rope. Roman is obviously in a lot of pain and they all rush back to the
ranch house. Once there, Camila grabs the phone to call the doctor, while
questioning Ana about Roman not having parents. Ana explains how and where she
met Roman.
At Vivi’s, Dan is back in bed, and can’t take the big smile
off his face. Vivi wants to know what it was that improved his health so
much—the medication; Camila Monterde; or the KISSES of Camila Monterde? “Having
Camila back in my life is as if my soul has returned to my body.” Vivi says it’s love, which transforms
everything. She wonders if this now means that he will stay in Mexico for good once
this ordeal is all over. Dan gives a coy
smile, and then confirms that he will remain in Mexico. AND he’s going to ask
Camila to marry him. “I’m dying for her to be my wife and to have a child with
her.” Vivi says she better be the godmother. Dan wonders who else could be? “You
and Rafael have treated me so well that I couldn’t trust my children with
anyone else.” They giggle, high five,
and call each other comadre/copadre.
Camila is at that very moment lovingly tending to children
who are not her own. She confirms that the doctor is on his way and tries to
calm the fears of Ana and Roman. But Isa and Cayetano decide to upset the apple
cart by insisting that Roman HAS to be taken away by the DIF (National System
for Integral Family Development)—aka, Roman’s worst fear. Camila tries to
explain nicely to the kids what the DIF is. Roman, as expected, freaks. Camila
suggests that he stay with her at MQ and that she care for him there for a
while, and then they can look for a family for him. Spoilsport Isa points out
that what Cami is suggesting is illegal, and Cayetano agrees. Cami points out
that they are dealing with a scared child here and tells Isa to have some
humanity. (She has forgotten that Isa is not human, and is ignorant of Isa’s horrific
track record with scared little boys.) Roman holds onto Mariano’s hand and says
he doesn’t want to be locked-up, with no friends and no family! Ana has the
perfect solution. “Why don’t we adopt him? And you and Camila can marry, and
the four of us can live in La Buenaventura! Come on Camila, marry my father.
Papi, convince her to marry you.” Camila and Mariano are left speechless once
again today.
Inside the MQ big house, Francisco Xavier is making himself
useful…NOT! He’s lounging on the couch, perhaps doing a crossword puzzle, but
most likely deciding what horses to bet on. He sees a flash of spandex and
thigh high boots out of the corner of his eye and calls out to his spawn,
Ximena. He wants to talk to her. He’s BORED! He tells her about the
conversation he overheard between Cami and Al yesterday. He got the impression
that there is or was something between them. Having been left completely out of
the MQ gossip loop, FX is mighty impactado to learn his daughter’s fiance is
the ex-husband of his ex-stepdaughter. “This is TERRIBLE!” Xi tells him to save
it.
Outside, Mariano has had enough time to come up with a
reasonable response for Ana. Although Cami would be the perfect woman for him
and for Ana (super uncomfortable look on Cami’s face), two people can’t just
get married just to solve a problem. It should be because you want to be with
that person the rest of your life. Ana doesn’t understand why he doesn’t want
to marry Camila. Now it’s Camila’s turn to attempt an answer. Right now it’s
more important to think about Roman’s needs—not Mariano’s or hers (Camila’s). Now
Roman joins in supporting Ana’s cause. The adults change the subject. Mariano
promises that he will make sure Roman finds a good place to live, and that soon
he will be adopted. Camila suggests that Roman just spend at least one day with
her at MQ. Mariano thinks it’s best that he take Roman to the doctor and then
they will take him to BV to stay with them. Mariano suggests that Caye leave
with them, so the old codger reluctantly parts with Isa. He’s looking forward
to seeing her tomorrow at the party. Hmm, mmmm… Cami calls the doctor to tell
him about the change of plans.
Once the Alberrans leave, Isa tries her best to get under
Cami’s skin. She was sure Mariano was going to ask her to marry him. It’s
obvious that he’s dying for her. In addition, it’s a HUGE advantage to have the
daughter on her side. “I’ve never doubted that you have lots of luck with
love.” Cami is skeptical that Isa would say that, after what Cami experienced
with her son.
I: A marriage is between two people, and each is responsible
for what happens in it.
C: Ahh. What happened is that there weren’t just two of us in my marriage. There were three of us…because you were always VERY present. And you know what I think, Isadora? Alonso is the way he is totally because of you.
C: Ahh. What happened is that there weren’t just two of us in my marriage. There were three of us…because you were always VERY present. And you know what I think, Isadora? Alonso is the way he is totally because of you.
Isa smiles her creepiest Komodo Dragon smile.
Inside, FX continues to give his best fatherly advice to Xi.
It looked to him like there was still a lot of intimacy and feelings between Al
and Camila. Alonso arrives calling for Xi. Xi says they have nothing to talk
about. Al apologizes for hurting her last night. Oblivious FX, who has not
noticed the bruises all over his daughter, although he has been sitting barely
a foot away from her, is once again impactado. He makes an attempt at
threatening Al. Al tells FX that he isn’t exactly Father of the Year, and has
no right to butt into Xi’s life, much less his. FX throws down his racing pages
in offence and tells Al that he’s going to tell his son Dan to kick him off the
ranch! (Haha! Yeah. Good luck with that FX.) “You have no idea who your son is,
so stop bugging me!” FX demands respect, but picked the wrong day and the wrong
guy to demand it from. Al shoves him down onto the couch onto his lazy bum,
says he hates bad parents like FX, and walks coolly out of the room. FX
concludes what everyone has concluded lately, Alonso is LOCO. Xi agrees and
tells FX that Al is crazy; but also agrees with Al that FX has been a lousy
father.
Outside, the cause of Alonso’s craziness is telling Cami to
stop blaming mothers for their kids’ bad behavior. Cami clarifies that she’s not speaking about
ALL mothers—she’s speaking specifically about Isadora.
C: I’m not a mother, but if God gives me the opportunity to
be one, what I least would want is to be like you. I think Alonso would have
been different had he not grown up by your side.
I: Different? How?
C: In everything. He would have been a more secure man. A man who recognized his own value. Not always under the skirts of his mother, controlling him against his will. You treat him so badly, like he’s a nothing, that…are you really his mother?
I: Of course I’m his mother.
C: Well it doesn’t seem like it. Nope. I don’t know how a woman who is so intelligent like you, so blessed with qualities, even so good looking, would use all of that to manipulate her son—who should be the person you most love in the world, no?
I: Different? How?

Camila walks off and Isa calls her stupid (I think Cami
struck a nerve too close to home). “Anyway. Say what you want. Because you have
NO idea what awaits you.”
It’s a good thing the ranch is so darned big, with all these
various conversations. In the MQ gardens, Dionisio approaches Al, loaded for
bear. He wants to know what the heck Al was doing sniffing around his office
earlier. Al plays dumb and says Omar is lying. Al reminds him of their
supposed alliance. They both say they don’t want betrayals. (Ha!) Dorotea
interrupts to tell Al that there is someone looking for him. An official man in
a suit walks up to Al and hands him an envelope. He’s been served!
At the Aculco popo station, Rafa gets an update on the
Andres Duarte situation. The police would like his statement about Leoncio, but
there are enough other charges against the guy to keep his sorry, tongue-less self
in jail for a long time. Andres’s doc affirmed that he would not have had the
strength to maim Leoncio, so there are no charges/warrants against him. Rafa
then tells the investigator that HE saw Leoncio throw something heavy in the
lake one day when he was at MQ. It could have been the gun they’re looking for.
The investigator says they’ll get on looking in the MQ lake. If they find the
gun, that’s yet another charge they can add to the large heap against
Lengua-less-Leon.
Teresa reports in to Osvaldo from Chile about the exact
opposite problem. She can’t find any record of any real charges or arrest
report against Daniel. In addition, his bother-in-law has taken a leave of
absence from the police force and she has been unable to locate him. Osvaldo suggests
that she contact Dan’s friend Dante Varientos, a life insurance agent. Osvaldo
will ask Dan for the name of Dante’s company, and anyone else she should speak
with. Teresa is eager to find out
anything she can, because she can’t find anything that would impede Dan from
returning to Chile. The only thing Os can think of is that during the jail
break Dan’s prison files were erased. Even so, there should be records of the arrest
and legal case. Teresa agrees. She’ll keep investigating.
Al reads the citation and looks at Dio accusingly. Dionisio
plays dumb, like he wasn’t the one who encouraged the tourism development
project board to bring charges against Al. He asks how Al could think that HE
would support bringing charges against him. Al starts to lose it and says he can’t
go to jail. Dio coos at him to calm down, and promises to speak to the board on
Al’s behalf. “If they screw me over (fregar), I’m going to screw you over! I
swear! You told me the only one who would look guilty is my mother. If you want
us to remain allies, I hope that’s the way it will be!” He stomps off, while Dio chuckles behind his
back, and Isa sneaks up behind Dio’s back. (Perfect symbolism for these three
back-stabbers.) Isa demands to know what Dio’s real game is. “I heard
everything! Are you with Alonso, or are you with me?”
Advances: The Scooby Gang
celebrates with wine. Dan and Cam look like they get busy! Isa tells Xi that
they have to accelerate The Plan, which will mark the lives of Cam and Dan
forever.
Remember, the show
will be on an hour earlier than usual in most U.S. time zones on Friday
evening. For our amigos on the West Coast, it appears you will have to wait
until Saturday night/Sunday morning at 2:00am to either record or watch the
show. There are other rumors that no one will get the show on Friday and that we'll all have to wait till Monday. Keep an eye out for announcements and let the rest of us know what you find out.
I'm filling in for Kat tonight, who is busy working on her many culinary and artistic projects. I'm wordy, so apologies to those who like shorter recaps. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLol to the guy in the background of the Cam, Mariano, Isa, Caye conversation who is energetically throwing the weeds in the ar.
ReplyDeleterepeating my first comment as it didn't show up...
ReplyDeleteVivi! How fun to have the recap up as it is airing in Utah. I logged on to publicly SQUEE about the reunion of Lazaro y Carina!
Thanks for filling in.
a SPECIAL REPORT broke in. The arrival of Jenni Rivera's body at the Long Beach airport.
ReplyDeleteRlaO- I had a bit of a SQUEE moment too, when I saw Super Lazaro and Carina back together again. :) Yes, my station also broke in a a few minutes with a "special" report on the arrival of Jenni Rivera's body.
ReplyDeleteI forgot he was SUPER Lazaro! Time for the show to end and it's still Jenni Rivera (RIP), and my Comcast is still not showing anything for tomorrow night but the teleton. The Sunday at midnight showing is only 30 minutes, so it is not Friday's show.
ReplyDeleteI guess I owe you a double thank you for the recap, Vivi. I will read it in its entirety tomorrow.
Now go to bed, Girl! It's midnight in DC.
Una maravilla, Vivi--this was a last minute sub, too. It read as if you had been polishing this gem for days and this was the final, final version. This was a winner. I'll pick out my favorite lines later.
ReplyDeleteYou caught the very same things I did for the very same reasons: the CME reunion between Karina and Lazaro (he's a little grey at the temples now) and Mini-Me Adorable Ana. They had to have done the wardrobe bit on purpose.
So, cold-blooded Xi (who knew she had Komodo Dragon blood in her system, too--must have been an Isa transfusion) is blithely going to let Bruno off Camila.
I got the biggest kick out of Mariano repelling down the brick wall and then carrying Roman back up on his back. The thing that made me go grab my made-by-Emilia Beanie, was how unhurt this little guy was. It had to have been a 10-12 ft. fall at least. Remember when Camila twisted her ankle falling off her horse and D'Andres carried her all the way in and gently deposited her on the couch? I would have expected at least that much from them -- but better not to have moved him at all. He could have had a concussion or broken bones, spinal chord, you name it. Instead there he is, sitting around while they discuss his fate. Ooooh, I could have crowned Isa for her nasty remarks. No wonder Cam called her on her child rearing later.
Thank you, Vivi for the conversation translation. Sometimes I just can't understand Camila at all.
ReplyDeleteOk here go the faves:
>You know you’ve gone too far when Bruno has to ask you if you’re sure you want to do this to your own sister< (or she should have known)
>Hissssadora has changed into her most sexy, tight, high-waist pants, and military bomber jacket for her walk down Money Lane with Cayetano< (to me, she just looked as though she needed some sessions at Willy's gym)
>all Cayetano needs to do to impress Isa is wave around some Benjamins< (I think she'd rather have some James Madisons or Salmon P. Chases)
>Cayetano continues to talk bull to Isa, who pretends to be interested< (she's ready to take his bull by the horns and put Rocio out to pasture--there's more green in them thar rancho than in Dio's back pocket)
>Os is sure Amanda is more at ease with Nat being far away from He Who Shall Not Be Named--the other one, not the one without a tongue< (ugghh those three words are worse than the picture of the bandaged head and the twirling eyes)
>The bull(sh*t) keeps passing between and in front of Isa and Cayetano. Isa marvels at the size of his...herd of bulls< (ok, just say it, balls--she'd love to step on them as well)
>Cayetano is obviously a man who doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking, so Isa’s questions seem to make his brain hurt< (it comes from 40+ years of listening to Rocio)
>Camila arrives home on the range to be greeted by the last person she would want to see—ex-hubby, attempted rapist, woman beater ALonSoLoco< (You said it best-->> What a buzz kill after spending the morning smooching with Dan the Man<<)
>Yago sits by himself on one of the BV ranch dividing walls....maybe he’s thinking that the blue checked shirt he’s sporting brings out his eyes? In any case, he’s bored enough to decide to mess with Natalia’s head with more games< (He's such a transparent jerk--I'm glad Natalia managed to see through him)
>Having been left completely out of the MQ gossip loop, FX is mighty impactado to learn his daughter’s finance is the ex-husband of his ex-stepdaughter. “This is TERRIBLE!” Xi tells him to save it< (Can you all tell I have some time on my hands? Vivi has a way of turning a phrase that is soooo absolutely perfect, I just have to keep going--well, just one more)
>He [Al] stomps off, while Dio chuckles behind his back, and Isa sneaks up behind Dio’s back. (Perfect symbolism for these three back-stabbers.)< (Vivi you rock, amiga.)
BTW--Juanita asked about the next episodio being announced for lunes. I checked UNI's on-line schedule and they are showing:
7-9--Corona de Lagrimas - La Gran Noche (sounds like a digest of prior episodes)
9-10--Amor Bravio - La Gran Noche (so, it might be a repeat or the best of, or in the beginning was.. who knows what it means)
10-for the next 28 hours, the Teleton
My advice for those who watch it live is to set aside the 9 o'clock hour and if it's not a new episode, read a book or go make cookies.
If you record it to watch later, do it, to be on the safe side. You can always delete it later if not a new episode.
I'm on the west coast. Our AB time is 10:00. They're showing Por Ella (because of JR I know). Has anyone heard whether we'll get this ep later tonight/early AM?
ReplyDeleteNow they're showing AV (it's 10:20 here).
ReplyDeleteApologies, Nanette--My comment on the schedule was for East Coast folks. Juanita is East Coast. Check Univision's on-line listing for Friday's schedule in the morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anita. I'll do that.
ReplyDeleteHilarious Viv - I laughed out loud about Pogostick Yago description. Great job.
ReplyDeleteGreat work, Vivi, and don't worry about being verbose. The viewers have to put up with me for that already!
ReplyDeleteWithout knowing the specifics of the case, I think Ximeana just signed her own death warrant, from the writers if not from Hissadora. It will be interesting to see Rocio's reaction to her; I would be shocked if Rocio didn't immediately detect what this predator is up to.
I am so disappointed in Maja for not having a Lassie moment. How could such a sweet dog not be smart enough for that? Or is she just supposed to be big and soft to cuddle her peeps?
Loved Camila's calling Hissadora out on her toxic parenting. Now Camila needs to talk to Becerra about the forged will.
Vivi thanks a million for the quick recap. I was so tired that I fell asleep during AV and thru AB. I woke up right after AB ended, of course, and ran to my PC and was delighted to see your recap. I always love anything you write.
ReplyDeleteYou recappers and commenters are so smart.
Ann-NYC
Urban- I was a little disappointed in Maja too, but mostly I was amused by her. Granted, she did not see Roman fall down the silo. She was off on some other adventure by then. I just think it's funny how she wanders around the huge grounds on her own, just going from one adventure to the next. I'll give her credit for digging up Julian's body, so she's not just a pretty face and body, with no brains. :)
ReplyDeleteXi is being an idiot. Letting her jealousy of Camila blind her to the fact that Isa is evil and not to be trusted, by anyone. It will definitely come to bite her in the butt. Isa uses people, and always manages to make it look like her own hands are clean, just like Dio.
Maja is such a darling dog I hope she gets a mate and some puppies before the finale. I was glad to get the episode with the pet shop scene.
ReplyDeleteLeoncerdo learning to read and write will be interesting. However I doubt he will ever get out of prison once they find proof that he killed Julian. He probably could, however, provide something that can nail El Diablo.
I was mad when they broke in with the report about Jenni Rivera's body because it was during the last 5 minutes of the show. They couldn't have waited until 11pm?
ReplyDeleteIsadora will be bad for Rocio's health and wealth, because she's putting two and two together about Rocio/Pablo/Don Daniel and she's calculating the worth of BV and scheming on Cayetano.
Pablo is at risk as well because Isadora will figure out HE is the true heir to MQ.
So, it seems there were never any charges filed against Daniel in connection with the murder/attempted murder of Miriam.
a) Teresa needs to find out for sure if Miriam is alive or not.
b) Daniel can't really be a fugitive from justice if he was never charged in the first place.
c) I would assume the Chilean officials are/were investigating the jailbreak that led to the escape of Daniel Diaz Acosta. Since it appears no charges were ever filed against Daniel for him to be locked up in the first place, there might be an investigation into WHY he was there in the first place (leading to suspicion on Abraham)
or
d) Abraham is taking a leave of absence to take care of a not-dead Miriam.
I never thought Miriam was dead, and the fact that there are no charges filed against Daniel kind of proves that for me. If Miriam WAS dead, and her husband has disappeared, wouldn't there be murder charges against him in abscencia?
e) Dante will be important for Teresa to find out information about Miriam....since Miriam bought the life insurance policy through him he would know if she was dead or not. If she did die, and there were no charges ever filed against Daniel, Daniel is the beneficiary of her life insurance policy.
f) Dante could've also raised questions about the charges(lack thereof) against Daniel (leading to Abraham's "leave of absence)
g) Since Daniel is a dual Mexican/Chilean citizen, I wonder if Osvaldo will invoke that to get Dan out of trouble for entering Mexico illegally?
Roman was extremely mobile, alert and well for somebody who fell 10/12 feet down a silo. And Isadora will pull a Cynthia/Bruno/Vanesa and call DIF on Roman.
How many feet of hay did that boy land on? That may or may not make a difference.
ReplyDeleteGood points about Dante. Also, if Miriam is dead (which I don't believe) Daniel inherits her money and other assets.
Vivi, this was marvelous! You are a mighty fine recapper! Your humor is off the charts, en serio.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how Anon207 only missed 5 minutes when my station went to Jenni Rivera coverage about 20 minutes in. I do feel so sad about her death, but do I need to stare at the wall of the garage that holds the airplane that carried her body in to the Long Beach Airport? And to find out I missed an FX scene! Can't say as I much like the character, but I LOVE his scenes.
So, Vivi, we are especially happy you did a thorough recap, and it was not too long at all.
Thanks for this vivilicious recap Vivi. I recognized the Vivi style right away. Even though I watch this every night and keep up with the recaps and comments, I've not been a regular commenter here.
ReplyDeleteMaja, Maja, Maja, you're beautiful to look at and certainly a great cuddle, but you're definitely no Tonki(DdP).
Note to Roman, if they keep talking about DIF or orfanatos, get a cervical brace and a lawyer, you could end up a very wealthy waif.
Carlos
I really don't have anything else to say at the moment, I just didn't want to waste this nice, large, clear, finally I can see it, verification number "100".
ReplyDeleteTo Roman: cervical brace, lawyer, and start tucking in your shirt
ReplyDeleteVivi, I have never read one of your recaps before. It was fantastic. And so much detail, I know I'm not missing anything if I don't watch it.
ReplyDeleteI missed the first 20 minutes of the show, but they broke in at 10:57 to announce the arrival of Jenni Rivera's plane, and when the show came back on it was on the avances. Breaking news at 10:57 could have been saved for the 11pm news. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that TN's do that really bugs me is when they move someone who had an accident without thought that that person could have a neck or spine injury. Roman could have broken his neck or back and moving him like that could have caused paralysis. This is bad for viewers to see.
ReplyDeleteThey broke into mine and never went away! I kept watching because I didn't want to miss a glimpse of Lazaro should they rejoin the program already in progress. Hopefully we'll see more of him, and can figure out what his new name is.
ReplyDeleteGreat recap, Vivi. I can't imagine how you got it up so quickly. I think UA watches the episodes ahead of time--do you do so as well? However you did it, the recap was terrific. I had noted a bunch of my many faves, but Anita beat me to it, so I'll just say "What Anita said." Except for one: "[Alonso] stomps off, while Dio chuckles behind his back, and Isa sneaks up behind Dio’s back. (Perfect symbolism for these three back-stabbers.)"
ReplyDeleteI too was surprised that they quickly moved Roman without knowing the extent of his injuries. He could have had a broken back. Of course, it turns out that he seems to be fine--definitely a beanie-tightening moment.
Hey Carlos, bienvenido. I didn't know you were watching AB. I loved your "Note to Roman."
Anon207 mentioned that "Pablo is at risk as well because Isadora will figure out HE is the true heir to MQ." Isn't the true heir to MQ the one(s) that Don Dan stipulated in his will? He didn't say "whoever turns out to be my blood relation," so I don't think Pablo is the "true heir," though Daniel and Camila may very well find a way to include him.
Yikes, I've got an appointment in a few minutes, so I'm going to end this now and try to prove that I'm not a robot.
I don't know who Lazaro is, but Pieded met some guy named Hipolito at the cemetary.
ReplyDeleteI also was hoping Choli would inquire about Luzma. Surely Choli knew Piedad was pregnant at the time of the wedding.
We have two brothers on this show who have done bad things to keep their sisters away from the men they loved: Leoncio w/Piedad & Abraham w/Miriam.
Vivi thanks for your wonderful recap. Anita mentioned some of my favorite lines and I particularly liked your observation that Juanita noted about the 3 back-stabbers.
ReplyDeleteAnon207 - Once again thanks for your list on Dan and the charges or lack thereof in Chile. And your observation about overly protective brothers is spot on too.
Though I don't predict things well, there are some things we know about the Bruno plan.
1. Though he may wound Dan or Cam, they both will live since they are the protagonists.
2. However, since both have been in the hospital recently, I'm thinking Bruno will botch the attempt and harm someone else. Xi is my first choice but it may be Al.
I just want to hold out the hope that since our couple have both been injured they don't have to go back to the hospital in a life or death situation again.
Vivi - Great title. Loved all the bulls*** riffs. Appreciate the detail and the vocab.
ReplyDeleteI give Maja a break for missing a Lassie moment. She just met these kids and was only passing through. But if Camila or Dan had fallen in the silo, she would've been all over it.
Those sausage pants were not Hisssadora's friend.
Nice to see Piedad get a love interest, after 20 years of nada de nada.
I like Ana, but she's old enough to know better than to ask Mariano and Camila about getting married, in front of everyone. She hasn't even seen them kiss.
Recorded 11:00-2:00 hoping they'd show AB and they did!!! I'll be able to watch it tonight. Of course, I won't be able to wait until then to find out what happened! Have to read Vivi's recap.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I hope you're right.
ReplyDeleteThen there is Iago, who participated in Ileana's plan to separate Pablo from Luzma.
While I think that Roman will end up with Mariano and Ana, Rocio will not like this one little bit.
Anon 207 - Lazaro was from CME. He was in love with the Carina who is played by the actress who is playing Piedad. He was such a hero, we called him Super Lazaro.
ReplyDeleteEven Hiss knew those pants weren't attractive. She kept walking with her hands on her thighs. That being said, I wish I had her shape and looked like that in those pants!
The legal heir to MQ is Daniel.
ReplyDeleteHowever, legalities don't stop Isadora when it comes to getting what she wants, and Pablo being the son of Don Daniel would be a way to get what she wants.
She also has her eye on BV and Cayetano. However, Rocio is in the way. Pablo not being Cayetano's son but Don Daniel's is a way to get rid of Rocio and pave the way for her to get her hands on Cayetano and BV.
Karen--From your words to the writer's ears. I like your possible outcomes for Bruno's attempts. No character named Bruno has ever had a successful outcome. Most of the time Brunos end up dead. I hope this happens to this one, too.
ReplyDeleteanon207--Great list. I'll add it to Operation Shine the Light right now.
ReplyDelete(off topic) LA MARIPOSA en MUNDOfox
ReplyDeletereally good show, if anyone's interested.
they're showing this weeks episodes on Sunday again, from 2-7pm. they don't have English captions in the first run at 9pm, and do at midnight and Sunday re-runs.
Re-reading the re-cap, I see Hipolito is the name of what we hope is Piedad's new love interest. Will she stay there, or will he come back with her? Long distance relationships are hard enough, especially if you are illiterate and can't email!
ReplyDeleteAnon 207 and others - you think Miriam is alive? How about the baby? Maybe the baby is alive and thriving and Miriam is still in a coma?
A Vivi recap. What a treat.
ReplyDelete“You know you’ve gone too far when Bruno has to ask you if you’re sure you want to do this to your own sister.” –-Bingo!!!
Laz (Luis Gatica) is in this? I’m so excited—he was one of my favorites on CME.
However, if everyone knew Leoncio killed Fidencio, why wasn’t he arrested?
I love Maja, but wish they’d stop showing her. I’d rather miss seeing her, than have her a continued presence and possibly end up in danger/dead.
Looking forward to seeting the Aaron/Rafa scene. I love those two as brothers.
Iago = creep. Run Nat. Run from Iago.
“Having Camila back in my life is as if my soul has returned to my body.”—some people might call that cheesy. But I say ahhhhhhhhh!!
Kudos to Cam for nailing Isa for Al’s probs. Glad to see part of it penetrated Isa’s self-serving brain.
Teresa – welcome addition to the Scooby Gang.
Re: The One Who Shall Be Nameless: By-the-way, Flaco thinks that TOTSBN will escape jail and blackmail Isa into sleeping with him.
Nanette
Naughty Nanette--TOTSBN and Hissy? The only reason he would do it would be to kill her dead. Next on his list is Dio--how's he going to manage that one......
ReplyDeleteAnita: Maybe he's bi. Flaco thought TOWSBN might rape Isa instead of blackmailing her.
ReplyDeleteRlaO: I think Miriam is either in a coma/dead and the baby is alive.
Here's hoping Hippolito returns with Piedad. I want to see more of him and Piedad will want to be near Luz--at least until she's married.
Wonder if Dante will start being in it more.
Didn't Leoncio and Piedad flee the North after he killed Fidencio/Piedad thought she was left at the altar?
ReplyDeleteFidencio's family & friends might not have known where Leoncio & Piedad were.
Luzma is 18 years old, so Leoncio & Piedad have been gone from that town for almost 19 years.
Hipolito needs to come forth and tell the police he saw Leoncio hurl Fidencio's body off the cliff, now that he has contact with Luzma.
What gets me is if Hipolito saw Leoncerdo hurl Fidencio's body off the cliff, why didn't he report this?
ReplyDeleteHipolito could have reported it, but Leoncio & Piedad fled to a different part of Mexico. I don't think either one of them have been back, because if Piedad had gone back, Choli probably would've denounced her to the police for Fidencio's murder (heck she still might).
ReplyDeleteThey need to start filling in the blanks about the murder of Fidencio and what happened after. It seems reasonable that Leonicio fled with Piedad after the murder.
ReplyDeleteFrom all that we've heard, it seems that Leoncio took Piedad and hightailed it out of the North as soon as he killed Fidencio. No one there knew where they went, so they very well could have filed charges against him for the murder.
ReplyDelete"Those sausage pants were not Hisssadora's friend."
ReplyDelete"Even Hiss knew those pants weren't attractive. She kept walking with her hands on her thighs. That being said, I wish I had her shape and looked like that in those pants!"
Ok, I was going to skip watching this episode because Vivi in DC is the detail queen of recaps, but now I have to see those pants.
Yeah, Leticia C. is a brave, brave woman to wear those pants on screen. :)
ReplyDeleteRosemary, I don't see why Hipolito couldn't get a job at Malquerida. There always seems to be work available for anyone there. And Pablo is already dressed for the administrator job with his suit vests.
ReplyDeleteOk, I watched the show. I never knew Mariano was such a he-man lifting himself and the boy up with just the rope to climb up. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI said it before and I'll say it again. Leticia Calderon is a very attractive woman. Too bad she's playing such an ugly character.
I really really hope Natalia doesn't go back with Yago. But I'm sure she will. They always do.
I wonder if AB will run tonite as practically every channel is covering that horrible tragedy in Sandy Hook, CT. It's been non-stop since this morning.
ReplyDeleteAnn-NYC
Ann-NYC-- Between the CT tragedy, the already scheduled Teleton, and the Jenni Rivera wake/funeral, it's anyone's guess what will be on tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhy wouldn't they have just cancelled the show for Friday since the telethon was going to be on. It's not like they haven't cancelled shows before. This is odd that they would have it for one part of the country and not the rest.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Camila? Please don't talk baby talk to Dan. Okay? That grosses me out.
ReplyDeleteLOL Cathyx - some things (Hiss's pants you just have to see for yourself). I do agree she is so attactive. Beautiful mouth and eyes that just sparkle. That's why we have to dish on her when we can.
ReplyDeletecathyx said: "Oh, and Camila? Please don't talk baby talk to Dan. Okay? That grosses me out."
ReplyDeleteThat makes two of us, cathyx!
Since I missed the avances, can you tell me if the "gang celebrates with wine" is the same scene from that YouTube video where Camila talks about her friends Renata and Geronimo and La Bonita?
ReplyDeleteRlaO- The wine scene in the preview takes place in Vivi's place. Does that look like what you saw? Are we going to get another CME moment, in addition to the reincarnation of Super Lazaro & Carina?
ReplyDeleteI know there's a lot of love for Cuando Me Enamoro on this blog, but I didn't have as much love for it. It was one of those TN's were the bad guys always got away with everything and the good guys were always so gullible. No one got their comeuppance until the gran finale. That's why I like this TN more than any other I have seen. It isn't following that pattern.
ReplyDeleteWow Vivi, you know you’ve out done yourself when practically each line of your recap is listed as someone’s favorite. I have to leave out 99% of what grabbed my attention because of too many favorites and too little time. But here are 3 that I can't resist listing!!!
ReplyDelete1) What a buzz kill after spending the morning smooching with Dan the Man.
2) The stroll and the chat/interrogation continue
3) Mariano can tell it’s good news (not for you buddy) just by the look on her face.
You have such an entertaining way with words, and great command of the language. I would love to see more of your recaps in the future (This is my first).
cathyx said...
ReplyDelete"Oh, and Camila? Please don't talk baby talk to Dan. Okay? That grosses me out."
Oh thank goodness!!! It was driving me crazy too. Treating him like a puppy dog? What?
Thanks much, Vivi! I haven't been able to catch up much with the recap, but I will! I knew it wasn't Kat when I read the first paragraph. What a nice surprise!
Thanks Foxy! What a nice comment. I'm glad you appreciated the recap.
ReplyDeleteAudrey and Cathyx- She is kind of talking to him like she talks to Maja. LOL! Well, he is like a big, cute puppy. :)
ReplyDeleteVivi, I never wanted to do with a puppy what I want to do with him.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!!! Oh Cathy...don't get me started. I just hope we get some shirtless scenes this next episode. I felt cheated last night.
ReplyDeleteWell, Cam and Dan are due for a reunion makeup, 10 minute long, love scene, so maybe we will get that tonight. I think I will just have to watch it online since I don't know when it will air here.
ReplyDeleteStep away, step away. Dan the man is so NOT a puppy!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!
The showing is starting and it seems to be a synopsis of what has happened in the tn so far, not a new episode. So don't worry West Coast folks. You are not missing a new episode.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see the Cam-Dan first kiss in the rain again. That was a really hot first kiss.
ReplyDeleteWhew! Thanks for that info Vivi. We've been stewing about it all week!
ReplyDeleteYes, I believe it was Anita who posted a YouTube showing the In Crowd making a toast and Camila talking about La Bonita. This will probably be it! So glad we won't miss it.
Daniel may not be a puppy, but he does have those puppy dog eyes that drive us crazy. Still no reason for Camila to talk to him like Maja. Good one, Vivi!
It's under "Camila recordando CME en Amor Bravio" on YouTube, Vivi. Sorry, I don't know how to make the link. Or you may want to watch it in real time as it plays out. Of course, had we not had the teleton, tonight would have been real time. So, it's not cheating if you want to take a peek.
ReplyDeleteRosemary -- your two above comments contain huge spoiler coming 15-20 episodes later -- you may want to reconsider ....
ReplyDeletemyo
RLO--The wine toasting in the avances you saw is NOT the CME rememberance scene. The CME wine tasting does contain a big spoiler, but not one we weren't expecting. It hasn't bothered me at all and I actually forgot about it until you mentioned it.
ReplyDeleteInstead of concentrating on the wine, settle in for what promises to be a terrific make-up love scene (according to the avances).
I'm glad we aren't going to miss it.
I think it was Silvia baby talking to Maja--quien es el mas guapo del mundo???, but it was cute in a small dose and Daniel was amused and embarassed, but he's happy and knows he's among friends, he has his soulmate back and she's on board Team Scooby Doo, so I'm giving Camila a pass on this one.
I don't think I got to see the baby talk unless you are talking about her song about the most handsome man in the world, which I thought was funny. SN is famous for her animated little gestures.
ReplyDeleteThey are right that that youtube I was talking about does have spoilers, obvious ones but still things that have not happened yet, so don't watch it!
Aaron is pretty mentally on the ball with his phone calls to Dio. I would be so nervous to make a call like that and would have to write my dialogue down first. He just gets in character and goes for it!
RlaO- Yeah, the little song Cam coos to Dan doesn't bug me either. She's just so happy to be back with her man. I'm sure she won't be doing it forever. Plus, it makes Dan smile and I just love seeing him smile.
ReplyDeleteThe synopsis last night was kind of cool, but it also showed just how much plot has happened by all that was left out. I thought the synopsis at the end of Abismo covered most of the plot pretty well, yet this synopsis of only half of AB barely covered it. In addition to the first kiss, I liked seeing Cam' s wedding dress, for her wedding to Al, again. The halter and mermaid shape and updo looked really good on her. No wonder Dio was smitten.
It's a whole other perspective to watch something the second time when you already know what is going to happen. You look at a character and think "if you only knew that today was your last day would you spend it doing _____?". Also, it gives us a chance to pay more attention to detail like lips and sequins and fur on bracelets.
ReplyDeleteMy Gran Noche episode airs at midnight tonight. Now I'm excited to see it!
Here’s the HPLP list:
ReplyDeleteThe list is chronological.
Highpoints:
Vivi and Rafa getting closer.
Pablo gets a job and it’s near Luz.
Rodolfo keeps his job (as if there was any doubt).
Aggie ragging on Dio in his office and his reaction when she leaves.
Al and Xi’s shopping montage. I like this show of affection for her—even though they are the ultimate dysfunctional couple.
Nat being comforted by her mother.
Cam’s little smile re: the flowers.
Os kissing Amanda.
Xi smacking Al right back.
Dio forced to make love to his wife.
The Scoobies foiling Bruno’s plot.
Aaron and Rafa’s scene about Rafa loving Vivi. Well played, Aaron. I loved it when he was grinning at Rafa when he was so furious.
All the mugging everyone was doing behind Cam’s back when she came to doctor Dan.
Ag telling Dio off (see below)
Pablo and Luzma’s scene when he reported for work.
CAM AND DAN BACK TOGETHER!!!!!
Al stealing the SIM card.
Tolontino and Padre’s little talk
Nat becoming a spy (clever girl).
LAZ!!!!!!!!!!!! (for those who didn’t see the awesome Cuando Me Enamoro—Hipolito!!!!!!!).
The brother’s continued conversation about Vivi.
Nat blowing Iago off.
All the Cam/Dan/Scooby Gang at Vivi’s scenes.
Low Points:
Nat’s sadness.
Cayetano trying to manipulate Pablo to return to the ranch (which you would think by now he’d realize he can’t manipulate Pablo).
Bruno’s freaky visit to Vivi’s bedroom.
Al hitting Xi.
Ag falling for Dio’s line—again.
Dio and Ag “role playing” (Eww!).
Piedad’s face-to-face with Fidencio’s mother.
Iago calling Nat—creep.
Nat the spy (she’s in danger, Will Robinson, danger).
Xi plotting against Cam.
I liked the little song Cam sang to Dan. She was so cute. She was so happy to be back together with him.
ReplyDeleteYay!! to Rafa for not being jealous. He's definitely over Cam and into Vivi!
Thanks Nanette! There was a lot to celebrate this week.
ReplyDeleteI was also very happy to see that Rafa is totally over Cam and that the whole gang can joke about it. I kept thinking back to the dysfunction of the group of so called friends in Abismo and the ongoing jealousy till the very end. This group is way more mature about things.
Nanette, (I think I spelled your name wrong in the past, I'm sorry) My favorite on the list:
ReplyDeleteDio forced to make love to his wife.
He almost can't stop himself from shuddering afterward.
I like that Dio line too, especially that it was over on the Highlights side of the list. It doesn't take much to amuse us! That really was so funny and uncomfortable to watch. Thanks Nanette!
ReplyDeleteNanette, I love your HPLP list. Don't know if you purposely left of that whole scenario of Ana and the orphan boy. Although it is not a high point for me, I think I'm in the minority here. For once Isa was right. The way they are handling this is illegal.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, everyone. Glad you like the lists.
ReplyDeleteFoxy: Actually, didn't care one way or the other about the Roman/Ana scene which is why I didn't put it on my list--not that I don't like the boy or Ana or the potential storyline. I agree that Isa is technically right about the legality of what Cam and Mariano were doing; however, I don't think she made the point because she cares about that, I think she made the point because she's a heartless witch. And she wanted to put the screws to Cam. :)
Nanette, you nailed Isa to a "T". I didn't think for one minute that her intention was to be helpful. In fact, she'll probably turn them in to the authorities if they proceed with their plan to shelter the boy on their own.
ReplyDeleteIsa IS deliciously evil.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the gate, but want to say how much I appreciated Vivi's witty and very thorough recap. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI was walking through Marshall's yesterday and saw hanging on one of their "special" racks a long red plaid cotton shirt with three-quarter-length sleeves. It stopped me in my tracks and gave me a good laugh. If it weren't the dead of winter, I would have been tempted to buy it. I then read Vivi's recap and laughed again at the reference to Ana in Camila-mode, plaid shirt, headband, boots.
By the way, happy holidays to any Hanakkuh celebrators and good luck with the preparations for other holidays coming up. It is a crazy, crazy time of year. I hope that we don't have too many interruptions of our novelas this month.
Traveling Lady- That is hilarious. I will never doubt that tn fashion is always ahead of the trends.
ReplyDeleteEverybody to Marshall's for Gran Final Costumes!
ReplyDeleteI hate these long weekends with no show. And no Señor Guapo. I need a hobby. Oh wait, this is my hobby.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how Carlos rates our three bad girls (Isa, Xi ad Ileana)?
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's time for Cam to have that little talk with Luz about forgiving friends.
I'm going to put a plaid shirt on my clothes-to-buy list.
ReplyDeleteWe could help Camila be a fashion trend setter if we all go to Marshals and buy a long fitted plaid shirt and wear it around town.
ReplyDeleteI used to have some of those shirts in college, when I first moved East. Alas, I sent those off to the Goodwill long ago.
ReplyDeleteNanette- I'd also like to know Carlos' assessment of our bad girls. Perhaps ask him again on a freesh recap. Just on a scale of badness, Isa far outrates the other two, and Ileana is at the very bottom of the scale. Of course, Carlos would have a scale of attractiveness for them, I can't begin to imagine which of our three bad girls floats his boat the most. :)
Vivi: "...I can't begin to imagine which of our three bad girls floats his boat the most."--exactly what I was wondering when I posted that comment. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what happens on Monday. Hopefully, Teresa will get info about Miriam's death and how Daniel was accused of it. With Abraham on leave, hopefully she'll be able to talk to Daniel's friend.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of how Camila and the others try to discover more about what Dionisio and Isadora are planning. As for Ximena's plan, I just hope it doesn't involve killing Camila like Isadora's did. It could, since she hates her sister so much. Lately Ximena's starting to become another Bratgirl along with Ileana.
I wondered too if the plan might be to kill Cam, but the more I thought about it, the more I think Bruno is not the killer type.
ReplyDeleteAnother thought. I don't think Xi is the murdering type either.
ReplyDeletecathyx: It's more than a hobby, it's a lifestyle!
ReplyDeleteI hope Xi is not the murdering type. I'm really hoping she's just a spendthrift with jealousies. I wonder how she could align herself with Hiss after hearing what she'd done?
Bruno, on the other hand, seems like he'd kill for money.
I agree about Bruno. He definitely wouldn't hesitate to kill for the almighty dollar (and wasn't that an intelligent demand?).
ReplyDeleteXimeana isn't the killer type and I doubt she's going to go there, but she will definitely fall because she will enable someone else to. (Prediction, not a spoiler).
Cam can't get killed. We all know that. But an attempt is highly likely. Or some sort of ransom to Dan. They did express that Cam is Dan's achilles heel, and Aggie is one for Cam. So I wouldn't be surprised if they are used this way. I think Al's days are numbered. He has too many enemies within the bad guys who want him out of the way. Don't think that Xi would agree to murdering Camila, but kidnapping or bribing would work for her.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you guys that Xi wouldn't overtly go along with a plan that involved murder. But she knows Isa cut someone's tongue out, so what makes her think Isa wouldn't murder to get incovenient people, like Camila, out of the way. She's fooling herself if she doesn't think Isa (or Bruno) wouldn't be capable of murder. The fact that she's willingly putting her sister in harms way, makes her just as guilty if Bruno or Isa try to do real harm to Camila.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, her vengeance on Camila doesn't even make sense anymore. Camila specifically asked Al not to marry Xi because she felt he was not emotionally stable and would eventually end up hurting her sister. Xi has now seen that first hand, when Al beat her after not being able to perform. That incident alone should have changed Xi's mind about getting back at Camila.
I noticed in the synopsis how similar that first scene on the honeymoon when Al could not perform on the wedding night was to the scene when he could not perform with Xi. He even said many of the same words and made the same accusations.
Right, it's all HER fault for having those big gorgeous eyes and that shakin' booty. Still, I think back to how Roberta hated Renata (they were sisters) for no real reason. SN seems to play characters that suck the air from siblings.
ReplyDeleteI know that Bruno is bad, but why do you all think he's capable of murder? I don't recall seeing any indication that he would go that far. Did I miss something?
ReplyDeleteNanette- Well, he did beat the baby out of his own wife. That's pretty darn evil.
ReplyDeleteI agree, but it doesn't make him a premeditated murderer.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if Bruno was our next door neighbor, we might just think him creepy, but this is a telenovela after all. We should take a survey to see how many think he would at least attempt to kill.
ReplyDeleteI just watched the first 45 minutes of the special Gran Final. I bet they ran that for those who missed the very beginning of AB so they would know who Miriam was if/when she is found alive.
ReplyDeleteNot Gran Final...sorry...Gran Noche
ReplyDeleteRlaO- What struck me when watching Cam-Luis and Dan-Miriam in the Gran Noche synopsis, was that Luis and Camila were very alike in how silly and spontaneous they are, while Dan and Miriam are more serious. Both couples loved each other very much, but the original couples' personalities were more similar. With Dan-Cam, she brings out his silly side, and he makes her look at things more critically.
ReplyDeleteI did notice how carefree Camila was in the beginning. Everything was going great for her.
ReplyDeleteI noticed, too, how when Al proposed he said HIS MOTHER wanted him to have an engagement party, and then HIS MOTHER wore off-white to the wedding.
They skipped over a lot of the prison plot. I think we got it 3rd person when Padre was talking about it.
Going back to the Bruno-for-hire, Xi go-between (the sheets) and Isa calling-the-shots triumverate....
ReplyDeleteBruno has an violent streak in him that he doesn't control (beating up Vivi), when he supposedly loves a her. He also is clever, amoral, and in need of money, preferrably quickly. When Dio wouldn't pay him, he needed another job. He claims he wants to leave town, but as long as Vivi is there, he's not going to leave.
Whatever was proposed by Isa, it apparently has not made him reflect on the end result. I wouldn't put it past him to kill for double the money. Whatever it is, it apparently does not make him turn down a job that involves Xi's own sister and for something as petty as jealousy.
Xi had some moments of remorse when she was talking to Isa. She asked if they really had to do this. Isa told her they've gone too far to back-track. Then she threatened Xi with prison for theft if she tried to back out or betray them. Xi prefers to save her own skin.
We know Isa won't stop at murder. Her thought-bubble after Camila took her down for her terrible mothering was, who cares, you don't know what is waiting for you.
To us in viewerville, that could go either way--doing something terrible to hurt Camila or an assassination. Since Cam & Dan have to end up together, we can assume Cam survives.
When Xi asked Bruno to make it look like it was Al's fault and paying him double for it is part, I wondered if that was also part of Isa's plan. In conclusion, Isa is one cold-hearted bi***--but we already knew that.
Can't wait to find out what Bruno is going to do and if he fails.
(off topic) LOS REY
ReplyDeletewas googling Michel Brown, and stumbled upon this tn, which happens to start today on Telemundo.
Rosemary - I don't think either Miriam or the baby are alive. I think both of them are dead. Her brother Abraham may have been an a****** towards Daniel, but still I don't think he would lie about his own sister's death, because he would have known if Miriam were still alive.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a guess, we will have to find out in future episodes.
ViviDC: You got that up in no time and it was hilarious! Thanks for the translation of Hisssa and Cami's crabby convo. I caught only half of it as it whizzed by.....
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the bull fritters to hit the frying pan tonight!
Jenny Rivera QEPD--but visuals of her remains returning don't qualify for ratings as a riveting reality and are not worthy of breaking into my telenovela's last five minutes!!
