Capitulo
90: Two Malditos, Two Final Exits
Lo
del pasado
El Diablo voices suspicions, Alonssso calls Daniel about the meeting place. Ximeana texts Bruno, who puts the phone near Camila. Osvaldo
persuades Daniel to take a pistol with him; Augustina enters with one
from Don Daniel's collection, Daniel exits. Hissadora pretends to
be shocked at Alonssso's behavior; Viviana is not fooled. Bruno
picks up the unconscious Camila and carries her out, leaving a
burning candle and the syringe behind, near a haystack.
Lo de
nuevo
La
Malquerida; Courtyard: Hissadora and Ximeana come out.
Hissadora realizes that Daniel and his friends suspect her and may be watching her. Ximeana
asks how she benefits from Alonssso owning the ranch and Hissadora
explains that since Alonssso is mentally ill he will end up in a
psych ward and she will manage his finances. Which means she will
sell the ranch and the two bad girls can live high off the hog on the
money. Ximeana is concerned about people getting hurt because she
doesn't want any deaths on her conscience [We marvel at the news
that she even has one]. Mama Dragon tells her not to worry about
that [which we all know means that she intends to off Ximeana as
soon as she becomes a burden]. We leave them talking over their
next move in the courtyard.
La
Buenaventura, Near the Corral: Woodwinds and strings sound the
forest noises and mysteries as Roman is running and wondering where
to go, knowing that there are bulls nearby. He sees Ninja Bruno
carrying Camila and putting her down at the base of a tree when he
takes a call from Hissadora, requesting further instructions. He
hasn spoken only to Ximeana; he will be in contact only with her. We do
not hear Hissadora's end of the conversation and Bruno tells her that
he knows exactly what to do. Roman sensibly does not make his
presence known, but runs back in the opposite direction as Bruno
slings Camila over his shoulder once again.
La
Malquerida, Study: Hissadora hangs up the phone just as an angry Diablo
enters demanding to know what she has done to Camila that she is now
blaming on her son. She demands to know why he thinks she had
anything to do with this and he responds that Alonssso is incapable
of thinking this up and planning it on his own. She finally gloats
that it was her idea and he grabs her, demanding to know what she's
done with Camila and she tells him to let her go or she will say nothing and Camila will die.
He seems to have tipped his hand here about his obsession with Camila
when he demands to know if she has harmed her. When he releases
her she tells him that she did this behind his back because he would
never agree to kidnapping Camila. Daniel put the property in
Alonssso's name in exchange for her life and thus they will have it.
She reminds him that she and Alonssso made out their wills a long
time ago and that she (Hissadora) is Alonssso's heir if anything
happens to him. He demands to know where Camila is and she tells him
– condescendingly – that she's in a place he can rescue her from
and look like a hero. Then they can take the money and run. At his
repeated demand to know where Camila is Hissadora tells him she is in
the Albarrán's corral. He can
rescue her and allay any suspicions directed at the two of them if he
finds her before Alonssso or Daniel. She gives him instructions that
include finding a piece of Camila's clothing under a large rock. He
tells her she had better hope that this strange plan works because if
it doesn't there is no power – human or divine – that will save
her. She smirks, fakes a kiss at him and grins when he exits.
La
Buenaventura, Parlour: Mariano and Refugio try to resign Ana to
the departure of Roman, who runs back in to tell them he saw a man
carrying Camila onto the ranch. He then leads Mariano outside.
Outside:
El Diablo looks around and finds the rock and the scrap of cloth,
then heads off in the stated direction.
La
Malquerida, Courtyard: Augustina comes out of the hacienda with
Viviana, Aaron, and Rafael. She is vexed that they kept her in the
dark about Daniel's identity. Viviana explains that it was for her
own safety as well as for Camila's. Augustina is not letting them
off the hook, accusing Daniel of being a stranger and a fortune
hunter. Aaron reminds her that this was about protecting her and
Camila. She wants to see Don Daniel's letter to see for herself that
he suspected that Alonssso was up to no good. Viviana replies that
she should see it, especially since she doesn't believe Daniel. She
can draw her own conclusions then. Augustina relents, saying that
the whole DNA and relationship web around them is madness. Francisco
arrives, agreeing with her. Further, he states that if they are of
no matter to Daniel – who signed the ranch over to Alonssso –
what she is talking about makes no difference because they will all
have to leave it. Augustina tries to rip him a new one, saying she
wishes she were his widow instead and after all this is over she
never wants to see him again. Aaron advises Francisco to leave, and
pushes him back as Augustina cries. Viviana tries to assure her that
Camila will be back safely soon. Augustina says something about
Camila being the only daughter who cares about her. [???]
La
Buenaventura, Corral: Camila is still bound and gagged and just regaining
consciousness as El Diablo arrives, seeing that she is in the pathway in front of the corral gate. He curses Hissadora for lying to him that Camila
was in no danger as he bounds over the stone barrier [not a bad move
at his weight, but he is The Devil] and rushes over to her to untie
her wrists and ankles. Bruno, standing on the upper part, slides the gate
open. As Camila is up to a seated position she sees the five bulls that are
exiting their pen. [¿Salud?] "They're going to kill us." And there are more bulls behind them. El Diablo has
the presence of mind to pick up Camila and put her on the stone wall
on the side as the bulls begin to charge, but gets knocked down by
the exiting bulls as Camila slips down the other side. Bruno is
watching from a nearby vantage point, making a gesture on the order
of “Maldita” when he is caught by Mariano, who kicks him down.
They fight, but Bruno lands a good punch and gets away. Camila goes
to the wire fence extension to find El Diablo on the ground,
clutching a leg and saying that if necessary he'd have given his life
for her. Three of the Buenaventura vaqueros arrive and Camila starts
giving them instructions.
Meanwhile
as the violins celebrate in a minor key switching to major, Bruno has
chosen a poor escape route as he falls backwards into the bullpen.
Mariano and his capetaz arrive in time to see taurine violence we are
tastefully not shown.
Metepec,
Hotel: Alonssso, biting his claws [¡Salud!]
sits in a waiting room wondering what is happening. He e-mails the recording of his last conversation with Mommy
Direst. He bites his claws again [¡Salud!]
and starts pacing as the clerk from the cell phone
company arrives with the report he requested of the calls between El
Diablo and his henchman, Julian. He points out the first calls are
between Chile and Mexico. Alonsso pays him, thanks him, and they
shake hands. This is the proof... and his revenge.
Road /
Hotel: Daniel gets out of his car and takes out his cell phone
to call Alonssso, who does not answer. Instead he lets himself into
the room and clutches the cell phone report as though it were a
lifeline. Daniel hears the no connect signal and hits the button on
the phone in frustration.
La
Malquerida, Parlour: Hissadora sits on the couch, calmly
drinking coffee as Augustina sits worried on the opposite couch with
Osvaldo at her side. El Diablo and Ximeana's absences are noted. Viviana, Rafael, and Aaron are also present.
Daniel calls Rafael to let him know that Alonssso hasn't arrived and
isn't answering his bloody cell phone. He almost loses it when
Rafael tells him to be patient. Every moment is an eternity. Rafael
finally ends the call and makes a subtle signal to Viviana. She gets
up and puts her head together with the two attractive brothers and
Rafael tells her nothing has happened yet. Aaron points out how odd
it is that Hissadora can be so calm when her son has done something
so horrible. Viviana calmly tells them this does not surprise her
because “This woman has no blood in her veins.” [Es veneno,
por supuesto.] Augustina says “It was a cursed hour when
Camila married your son” and Hissadora reminds her she was very
happy about it back in the day. She then says that she loves her son
but she is not blind. She knows he has his faults and his
weaknesses. And it will hurt when she sees him pay for everything he
's done to Camila. Viviana watches this carefully out of the corner
of her eye and Rafael follows her gaze.
Metepec,
Hotel Room: Ximeana arrives – sent by Hissadora – and
Alonssso is not entirely pleased. He is sure Hissadora sent her to
seduce him. She tells him she is there because she wants to be. She
reminds him that their marriage was to be for his benefit, not hers.
He is still suspicious that she may be getting revenge on him. She
tells him no and reminds him that Hissadora is capable of anything.
She knows that Hissadora would have Camila killed if he didn't
cooperate with her and she doesn't want to share the guilt. Alonssso
gets even angrier at the prospect of Hissadora murdering Camila.
Ximeana realizes that Alonssso never loved her as he did Camila. A
very uncomfortable moment ensues for both of them as she asks whether
she was just an aventura to him. He denies that while biting his
claws again [¡Salud!]
saying
that she means everything to him because he recuperated his manhood
with her. He started to love her.. She starts to cry. However, it
wasn't the same. He apologises to the strains of “Te odio.”
saying that at this moment the only priority is Camila.
La
Buenaventura, Corral:
El Diablo lies on the grass, in pain, as Camila tells him the
ambulance should be coming. Mariano arrives to tell Camila she
should go to the hospital, too. She tells him she's alright and all
she wants now is to talk to Daniel. Iago and Cayetano arrive, saying
the ambulance is on its way along with the police. Mariano promises
to take care of notifying the appropriate people but there is no
signal at the moment to reach Daniel. He'll call her family in the
meantime.
La
Malquerida, Parlour:
Mariano calls; Osvaldo answers and hears that Camila and El Diablo
are alright although El Diablo's been hurt. He tells Mariano he will
tell the others and get over there. He ends the call and explains
what happened. Hissadora maintains as good a poker face as she can
but wonders how this was possible in the path of those beasts.
However, when he tells that El Diablo saved Camila's life Rafael
wonders what he was doing there. Viviana asks “Wasn't she with
Alonssso?” Osvaldo says he doesn't know much but apparently El
Diablo saved Camila's life by getting her out of the path of the
charging bulls. Augustina gets the vapors as Hissadora puts on her
happy face saying that El Diablo is the hero of the hour. Augustina
wants to go to La Buenaventura, but Osvaldo tells her no; they will
be at the hospital in Metepec shortly. They prepare to leave.
Osvaldo leaves Rafael in charge of getting in touch with Daniel,
mentioning that the man who kidnapped Camila died in the bull pen; he has not yet been identified. Rafael, Aaron, and Viviana are
the last out the door and Rafael lingers behind to call Daniel. He
tells him that under no circumstances is he to hand the papers to
Alonssso or to wait for him and that Camila is alright. They're on
their way to the hospital in Metepec and he is to meet them there.
Daniel gets back into the car and burns rubber.
Hotel
Room:
Ximeana tells Alonssso they are to wait two hours before going to get Camila. Alonssso points out that Daniel is waiting for him.
Ximeana tells him Daniel will wait as long as he has to and he needs
to get control of himself. He tells her he will have control because
he has proof of El Diablo and Hissadora's guilt. The idiot shows her
the cell phone report proving that El Diablo was in communication
with Julian on the day and the days surrounding the attempt on
Daniel's life. He has her put it in her purse, she thinks they're
home free, and he tells her as soon as they know Camila is alright
all will be well. They leave. Curiously, Alonssso throws his tie on
the bed before they depart.
La
Malquerida, Courtyard:
As Osvaldo and Augustina leave the hacienda, Francisco appears and
hears the good news about Camila. “So soon?” he asks.
Seguramente es borracho. Augustina reproaches him, saying when did
he ever care about Camila and would he please find Ximeana and tell
her what happened. She and Osvaldo get into their cars. Viviana and
the two good boys get into hers. They ask if Hissadora wants to ride
with them and Hissadora tells them she prefers to take her own car
because she needs to find her son. She is going to the church to
prey for him. Francisco approaches Hissadora's car, asking her if he
can ride with her. “Por supuesto que no!” says she, telling him
to get out of the way as she drives off. He heads back to the
hacienda as Pablo and Luzma come out. He tells them that Camila was
hidden at La Buenaventura. Pablo doesn't quite believe this; he
whips out his cell to make a call .
La
Buenaventura, Corral:
El Diablo is strapped down on the ambulance stretcher in a neck
brace. Camila thanks him for saving her life. “I'll never forget
this” she says, encouraging the approach of another Acme anvil.
She doesn't want to go to the hospital, but the medical personnel
insist on it. She has a headache, but complains of nothing else.
Hostal:
Natalia ends a call with Luzma, who has filled her in on what has
just happened. Amanda enters as she hangs up. She tells Amanda what
happened and that she is going over to the hospital. Furthermore,
everyone now knows who Daniel really is. Amanda is not pleased that
Natalia's attitude has changed toward her, but Natalia is firm. If
she doesn't tell her everything, there is no point in their speaking
to each other. Natalia tells her flatly that things can't go back to
what they were until she does, then exits.
La
Buenaventura, Parlour:
Ana and Roman sit on the couch with the adorable Muñeca
between them. Roman tells Ana he doesn't want to go to an orphanage;
many kids never get adopted. People want to adopt little kids, not
ones his age. Ana tells him she will get her dad to help because her
dad always keeps his word. She makes him promise not to leave.
Refugio comes in with (big) snacks and drinks for them, which they kneel on the floor to eat as the adorable puppy plays on the sofa. [Mariano
needs to adopt this boy.]
Hospital:
El Diablo and Camila are wheeled in. Daniel arrives, relieved that
Camila is alright. They kiss, call each other “mi amor” and El
Diablo winces at hearing this. Pablo and Luzma arrive right behind
Daniel, who then tells Camila that everyone now knows his true
identity. She is relieved because it means that Daniel can now take
his rightful place. Pablo explains that Mariano is talking to the
police. A doctor tells Daniel they have to admit the patient, and
Camila is wheeled into the emergency room.
Road:
Alonssso stops the car and they get out. For what is about to be
their getaway Ximeana is not properly shod; she can barely walk in those
platform stilettos. This is presumably where Camila was to be left
for them to find. Alonssso asks whether she knew where Camila was
being held; Ximeana claims to know nothing of their plans. Although
Ximeana tries to argue the point, Alonssso takes out his cell phone
to call Daniel to show that he is complying with him. When Daniel
answers he tells him that Camila is with him safe and sound and that
La Malquerida will never be his because he is going to prison! When
Daniel ends the call Alonssso realizes somehow that he fell into
Hissadora's trap. Ximeana asks him how that could be and he starts
to panic. He tells her he has to get to a safe place and turn over
the documents to Daniel to prove his own innocence. And he has to do
it alone. She panics now, knowing that this leaves her hanging out
to dry. He grabs the purse containing the documents and she babbles
on about how she can't go back to the ranch, she can't face
Hissadora, etc. He relents, they get back into the car, and drive
off.
Hospital:
Osvaldo and Augustina arrive; Daniel explains that Camila is alright
and that El Diablo has a leg fracture and a back injury. Pablo
explains what Mariano saw, then goes off to get her some tea for her
nerves. [Piedad
is very lucky to be getting him for a yerno.]
No sooner is he out of earshot that Augustina reproaches Daniel for
his accusations against El Diablo. How can he dare think he tried to
have him killed in Chile when he has saved Camila's life? Daniel
tells her he is not a fool. He points out how bizarre this situation
is, as in how did El Diablo happen to be there in time? How could this be a coincidence? This was
part of a plan to make him look good in the situation, particularly
in front of her and Camila. Augustina – who is a fool – still
does not believe this. Osvaldo tries to get her to see reason –
suggesting that the rescue was a show that he was not involved in the
kidnapping – but she still won't hear a word against El Diablo.
Daniel tells her that when the truth comes out about the murder of his wife in Chile he will see to it that
El Diablo, Hissadora, and Alonssso go to prison for the rest of
their lives. She departs in a huff to see Camila, passing Viviana
on the way. Viviana tells the men that Rafa and Aaron are at the
police station pressing charges against Alonssso. mentions Don
Daniel's letter and that Augustina should read it; both Daniel and
Osvaldo agree. The latter says he will call his secretary to have it
sent over by messenger.
Road:
Alonssso picks the wrong time and place to stop and argue with
Ximeana, whom he accuses of being on Hissadora's side. He goes loco
in his paranoia, accusing her of betraying him to Hissadora, ordering
her out of the car. She panics, telling him they need to think of
themselves, to get away, etc. He shouts over her, saying he doesn't trust her, that she and
Hissadora are identical and can't love anyone. As he reaches to open
the passenger side door, he feels the rear-ending impact of another
vehicle and looks back, freezing in shock. Ximeana looks back, truly
afraid. Hissadora has pulled up in her car, saying “I couldn't
finish Dionisio and Camila, but you? Yes.” She then shifts and
leans on the accelerator at an effective Ramming Speed. She appears
to lock under the rear bumper of Alonssso's car in a pullback, but
just goes forward hard enough to push them head first off the cliff.
The violins have a field day as the car falls about thirty feet,
lands in a capsized position, and explodes into flame. Hissadora
Desalmada gets out of her car, walks to the edge, and smiles at her
latest handiwork.
Avances
It's possible that Daniel can't recover the ranch.
Do not miss this week's episodes!
Do not miss this week's episodes!

As always so prompt, excellent recap.
ReplyDeleteOne major thing that was glossed over--Alonso recorded his fight with Isadora on his blackberry; when he was sitting at the hotel lobby he was listening to part of it (and flashbacked) he then emailed the recording to his personal email.
And one minor change you meant to say that Francisco asked Isadora to ride with her but you typed Augustina ...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!!
Myo
What an episode!!!!!!! Al and Xi deserved some sort of punishment, but not this. Glad Bruno is gone.
ReplyDeleteNanette
Does every TN have a major whack job villain?
ReplyDeleteWhoa! We all knew that Alonso and Ximena were not long for this world but I didn't think so soon and in such a manner.
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays! And darn, I read this marvelous recap before watching the episode (We were at The Hobbit last night. Amazing movie quality! You felt like you were a dwarf with them.) I thought that would help, since I won't have subtitles. And now I know. Except watching without subtitles, I may not have known either. Thanks for the recap.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Thanks UA your recap nailed that exciting episode (complete with background music :-)
ReplyDeleteAlthough Isadora was slowly killing Alonzo his entire life, last night she showed her true colors with the cruel way she tracked down and murdered him. I never had any sympathy for Ximena so for me it's a relief to have both her and Bruno out of the picture.
That said, Isa is my favorite villian in this tn. So it doesn't bother me that she's going to be around for awhile. However, Dionisio is entirely too cunning for me and I hate it that he's always able to cover his tracks. My message to him is thanks for rescueing Cami. Now that you know you're never going to get your hands on the ranch, it's time for you to leave and go settle down with the mistake you made of marrying.
Isadora is the most evilest of all the villains in this telenovela. She kills Padre Baldomero, almost kills Camila by having a bull hit her, and now she has once again killed by killing Alonso and Ximena.
ReplyDeleteAlonso, I was beginning to have some sympathy for him, seeing he was only saying he kidnapped Camila so Isadora wouldn't kill him and that he wanted to turn Dionisio and her in. He was also beginning to turn on Ximena.
Ximena, I never really cared for because she was a mean bi!ch and a thief and plotting against her own sister and allying with Isadora. Glad she's out of the picture.
As for Bruno, I didn't expect his end to come so soon. But his death by being rammed by bulls sealed his fate. That's what he gets for stalking Viviana, kidnapping Camila and installing cameras in Vivi's house.
For Dionisio, well he only saved Camila to play the hero, doesn't change the fact that he sent Julian to Chile to kill Daniel and ended up killing Miriam instead. It also doesn't change the fact that he did so many other bad things.
Wow, you weren't kidding when you said yesterday that this was an episode not to be missed. So true and you did a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked at the demise of Al and Xi. But it was a very suspenseful scene. I didn't expect to see Ximena die. Why didn't she jump out of the car when they were being rammed? There was time. Will Isa get caught? Will there be tire tracks to indicate what happened? Will there be marks on her car to show she was involved?
Too bad the phone records burned up with them. And Renata, I did not know that about the recording of the conversation between Al and Isa and then sent it to his email. That should be found by Dan.
Foxy, I agree that Isa is a fantastic villain. In her conversation with Dion, she never wavers or backs down. She has every confidence in herself and she always has the answer and reaction to waylay culpability. She's great.
How will the scooby doos read Bruno's part in this plot? They know that he has worked for Dion, and they know that Ximena knows him.
Aggie was true to form defending her man. I'm glad Dan pointed out the obvious about how Dion knew where to find Camila. How will Dion explain it? That he just stumbled onto her?
Great recap as always, UA. I hope the operas were as exciting as last night's episodio.
ReplyDeleteI loved your line "She is going to the church to prey for him." That's the only way her statement makes sense! :-)
Wow, let's give the TN writers top marks for efficiency! Three deaths in one episode. I thought at first that either Alonso or Ximena might miraculously survive the car's trip down the cliff, but the explosion and fire makes that just about impossible. And with them perished the evidence Alonso had about Dio's phone records. Of course, the guy who actually extracted the info from the phone card may still have the card, but it's unlikely anyone will know about this.
As for Bruno--good riddance! I'm glad that Mariano is giving the police a statement, since he'll surely tell them about Bruno's death, and thus about his corpse's whereabouts. So with any luck he'll be identified, giving Vivi great relief.
I was glad to see that there was some point to Roman's being in the TN other than to look cute and be a playmate for Ana.
It will be great if Gullible Gussie gets to read Don Dan's letter, but I'd have felt a lot more comfortable if someone had talked about showing her a Xerox copy of the letter. Surely Becerra has a copy machine, and surely he appreciates the importance of maintaining the security of such an important original document. Ooops, I forgot, this is a telenovela!
Happy holidays, everyone, whatever your holiday may be.
Felices celebraciones a todos!
ReplyDeleteUA - fantastic. Thanks a bunch for gifting such a rich detailed recap.
Can't help feeling sorry for Alonso. He was a mess but trying to turn it around. He didn't deserve this. I hope the Scoobies figure out that he's incapable of such master plan.
Silly fool Ximeana. Her lazy amoral self was bound to keep doing the bidding of the evildoers. But this will hurt Gussie and Camila.
So will Camila be snowed by Dio now that he's save her life?
I forgot to say Merry Christmas everyone.
ReplyDeleteJuanita, you're a worry wart just like me. I don't think we have to worry about the letter. Enough people have read it and know the contents even if it gets destroyed.
I'm glad that Bruno is a gonner too. I hated him. And I held up hope that after the car went down the cliff, that Ximena had jumped out of it in time, showing her standing next to Isa, but that obviously wasn't the case. And the more I think about her passing, the more I don't care that she's gone. She was a big thorn like Bruno was.
I couldn't read the screen on his cell phone, so I had no idea whom Alonssso was attempting to contact on his cell. I can't figure out why he sent it to his own e-mail and I wonder whom he cc'd. He should have cc'd Osvaldo.
ReplyDeleteWhy did he make a point of leaving his tie behind when he and Ximeana left the hotel?
In view of Bruno's brutal treatment of Camila lately and of Viviana previously, I thought his death was a good example of Televisa's brand of poetic justice.
Back in a few.
UA, maybe the tie being left behind will be a clue as to his whereabouts when all this was happening. But I have no idea how it will figure into this, but I'll bet it's important.
ReplyDeleteI can't read the phone screens either on my TV. And since we're supposed to read what it says, they don't put it in the cc's.
Did anyone catch Isa's eye roll when Osvaldo took the call and told everyone that Dion saved Camila? I was hoping that Viv had seen her do it, but the next shot after the eye roll was back to Osvaldo.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone saw Hissadora's eye roll except us.
ReplyDeleteI was also wondering about the candle and the syringe left in the hayloft building on La Buenaventura. Is the close-up meant to say it will incriminate Mariano, who has admitted his attraction to Camila?
Not that any reasonable person would ever believe this.
Puzzle pieces to the truth from this episode:
-- Cell phone store clerk can serve as a witness and can easily produce another copy of the report he gave to Alonssso. He can also pull records of all the calls occurring in this episode.
-- Alonssso's laptop might be in the hotel room along with the tie.
-- Hissadora was too calm despite the suspicions about Alonssso.
-- Hissadora's call to Bruno was made from La Malquerida's land line.
-- How would El Diablo know where to find Camila?
-- Bruno worked for El Diablo (Viviana knows this) and was previously acquainted with Ximeana (Camila and Augustina know this).
Cathyx, you're right, I most definitely AM a worrywort! Glad to know I have company. :-)
ReplyDeleteEven though lots of people have seen Don Dan's letter, in a court of law it could be argued that all of them have a vested interest in preventing Isa and/or Dio from getting ownership of La Malquerida, and therefore their testimony is discounted. (I'm an overachiever when it comes to worrying. :-) )
I didn't catch Isa's eye roll, but I did catch the delightful mock kiss (well, a pursing of her lips) she threw at Dio's back after telling him her plan, a gesture that said "Ha ha, I told you I'm in control." It was the perfect gesture--I bet it wasn't even in the script. Leticia Calderón is amazing!
C'mon Amanda. You're breaking your daughters heart and exposing her to her criminal father by witholding his identity from her.
ReplyDeleteTake a risk, defy Dio's threats.
I am really curious as to what kind of poetic justice the writers will give to Isadora. I have a feeling it is going to be really good.
ReplyDeleteThank you to all of the recappers for this show. Some of us have absolutely no access to Univision. I can only "see" this story through your eyes. Thank you very much for your efforts. They are greatly appreciated.
I'm disappointed that Univision chose not to put the daily episodes on their site, but luck of the draw I guess.
Thank you again!
I think this deserves its own comment: Hissadora is the most evil of the villains in this story. I'm not sure she is so much a whack job as she is a sociopath.
ReplyDeleteShe is deadlier than El Diablo. He gets off on threats and displays of authority while she gets off on the actual killing. However, I don't think she looks for the opportunity to do this because she is -- almost -- as careful at covering her tracks as El Diablo is.
Notice how virtually all electronic communication regarding the kidnapping of Camila occurred between Ximeana, Alonssso, and Bruno. Hissadora gave Ximeana her instructions face to face, argued with Alonssso face to face (although she didn't notice that he recorded the argument), and was never face to face with Bruno, who is now dead.
There could have been a witness to Ximeana and Bruno's meeting in the restaurant although they did nothing to draw attention to themselves.
I don't think everyone's testimony would be discounted about Don Daniel's letter. It is obvious that Alonssso married Camila to get his claws on that property on behalf of Hissadora and El Diablo; he was their stooge. I'm betting that none of them ever had any intention of paying for it and making a profit; I'm sure that Hissadora intended from the outset to kill Camila so that Alonssso would inherit it. We can speculate from there as to whether she was also originally planning to kill Alonssso.
She was careless in her thinking in this way: If she could dominate Alonssso as thoroughly as she did, there was no way Alonssso would ever be able to dominate Camila.
Anon @ 11:22: These episodes can be seen on Hulu a day or two later. If you subscribe you can probably go back to the beginning.
UA - best present of the day! Thank you! What a lovely Christmas Eve episode, if you're into this sort of thing...which we are!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Isa's eye roll. She is Queen of the Wide-Eyed Reaction, no doubt.
Besides the eye roll, did anyone notice the funny look Luzma gave FX? We KNOW the girl can do drama, but she may be a great comedic actress too.
Like you all, I was shocked that Xi was killed off so soon. And in that darling, off-the-shoulder hibiscus shirt. She finally got her wardrobe right and look what happened.
Isa said "it will hurt when she sees him (Alonso) pay", but she didn't seem the least bit phased after pushing him off the cliff.
She was planning that at least as far back as when she ordered Alonssso to get Daniel to sign the property over to him. Why else would she even mention to El Diablo that the two of them made out their wills leaving everything to each other?
ReplyDeleteWhich was why she finally told Alonssso to submit to the divorce. If he died while married to Camila she would take precedence over Hissadora.
It is very likely that there would be some evidence on the bumper of her car... or she will do a trade-in or get it replaced. Either way she can be suspected of causing the "accident." She told the Justice League she was going to the church. They will remember this and Padre Anselmo will have to say "No; I didn't see her in the church."
Personally, I think she would spontaneously combust if she ever set foot over its threshold.
On the subject of wardrobe:
Best-dressed female last night: Hissadora. She always looks so apt in black and the necklace rocked.
Worst-dressed female last night: Viviana. She looked like she left the house in a nightgown.
Isa left the piece of clothing under the rock for Dion to pretend that he found the piece and followed the path which led to Cam. But the question will be why did Dion think to look for her in that area in the first place?
ReplyDeleteThe phone call to Bruno from Malquerida can still be blamed on Ximena. She was still there at the time the phone call was made.
Does anyone who is still alive know that Al was getting the phone records from Julian's phone? If no one knows, then they won't know to check on that.
Thanks UA for another great recap.
ReplyDeleteCathyx: I believe Al told Dan that he was getting phone records...
I wondered too about the candle and syringe. Didn't notice Al leaving the tie, BUT....
Al removed his seat belt when he was trying to push Xi out of the car... hmmmm....
So maybe Al is clinging to a jagged rock under the cliff?
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be funny if they are trying to identify the bodies and they see Al's fingerprints have been burned off, but MIRA! The nails are bitten down to the quick! It must be Alonso.
About our wonderful female characters in this AB: besides Isa's eyeroll and Luz's look at FX I really LOL at Nana clicking her fingers and singing "Les va a encantar, les va a encantar". Who gave her some Red"Bull"? (Salud?) Also, when Augie was storming out of the hospital and ran into Vivi who asked how Camila was, Augie snapped "Que bueno que ya llegaste".
Augustina is hopeless. She did realize that Alonssso was bad news but she doesn't recognize the Devil. I wonder if she is headed for a bad end thanks to this.
ReplyDeleteAccording to TV Guide's website there will be an episode on New Year's Eve, which will air an hour earlier. AV will be pre-empted that night. I guess that Univision realized that AB's viewers would be royally peeved to have a pre-emption in the middle of such hot action.
Thanks for the fantastic recap. Like so many others , I'm awed by isadora the villain and leticia the actress. I love love how the writers never let us hear the discussions of Isadoras plan. The outcome is always an unexpected surprise. I was hoping for redemption for Al who was doomed from the time Isadora became his official mother. His sin was weakness, cowed and and emotionally abused he had no chance to live a normal life. Roman on the other hand had to use his wits to exist and will probably end up in a warm loving environment. Daniels father is a hoot. He has no clue.
ReplyDeleteYola
If anyone who hasn't seen it is interested, Hulu has LC's episode of Mujeres Asesinas, where she first cut her teeth on evil. It is utterly brilliant.
ReplyDeleteWarning: Played for maximum shock value.
I don't think Augustina will come to a bad end. I am hoping she reconciles with FX. He's probably sewn his wild oats by now and if they reconcile we'll get to see more of him!
ReplyDeleteGod, no. He needs to pay for what he never did for either of his children. He is irredeemable and untrustworthy.
ReplyDeleteBut SHE doesn't mind. Just look at her choices in men. If it brings US (and it is all about us, no?) some delight, I say she goes for it. He may be the one to be redeemed, especially given the death of Xi.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Hulu link. I've never done Hulu. Will it show the whole 43 minutes for us?
ReplyDeleteI would love it if Al were hanging on the cliff, avoiding Isa from seeing him, but I doubt that would be the case. It's significant that he sent that recording to his email. That will exonerate him from guilt, but unfortunately in the afterlife. Will Xi's guilt in the drama be found out?
ReplyDeleteI predict Aggie to stand by her man, and Camila will have a hard time reconciling what Dion did to save her life, and what he's done to Dan. This will be interesting to see it play out. The phone records would be helpful to prove Dion's part in Miriam's death. If Al did tell Dan, I hope he can figure out how to get copies or at least find out where Al went to have the copies made.
It will show the whole segment program with brief commercial interruptions.
ReplyDeleteI also think that there is a scene or two that was left out of the original broadcast.
Heading off the see my mom and then Paul Rudd. I need to try to squeeze into the jacket my husband gave me. He bought me a size Medium. Seriously? I haven't been a Medium since college. Good thing it's stretchy. Bad thing is it shows back fat. I thought jackets were supposed to cover that.
ReplyDeleteRosemary La Otra, "Que bueno que ya llegaste". Does that translate to "How nice that you finally arrived"? Also, in an unfriendly situation like this wouldn't the "usted" form be more appropriate to indicate a sarcastic tone? I remember my Spanish teacher once saying that regardless of class, "usted" is used when you want to show that you mean business or show distance between you and the person you're talking to.
ReplyDeleteNana is so entertaining. I haven't seen her in any other tn.
What is her name and how old is she in real life?
Thanks so much Urban. What an exciting episode and end! And I saw it on a big screen TV. The only problem is that now I want to watch tonight's episode in real time too but don't think the fam will let that happen.
ReplyDeleteFoxy, I just checked the IMDB, and they say that Nana/Refugio is played by Magda Guzmán, who was born May 16, 1931, so she's really as old as she looks. She has been in MANY telenovelas going back to the 1940s. What struck me is that she is listed as having played La Poderosa / Sara de Oviedo in Alborada. Perhaps that's why she looked so familiar to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recap and Merry Christmas Urban.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an episode!! I can't wait to see tonight!
It was Camilla who Al told about the phone records. I too wonder how Cami will react to Dio now that he's saved her life. The thing is, even though his intent was to fake save her, he actually did put his life in real danger to save her. He didn't cause the kidnap situation and he didn't have to jump into that bull corral. It wouldn't be strange if Cam sees him as her hero.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite obvious that Hissadora also meant for him to die. He will want payback for that.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah he will!
ReplyDeleteHow creepy it must be to have your mother's husband have the hots for you. Ick!
ReplyDeleteAs for the car Isa used, it was an suv and her car is a sedan. She was not dumb enough to use her car for the crime. And the phone she used to call Bruno was in Cam's cabin. She's very clever. And I agree that black outfit was great on her.
ReplyDeleteSo did Isa leave in her car and somehow changed vehicles while she was out? I wonder who's SUV it was.
ReplyDeleteI think there are several SUVs at La Malquerida; Camila normally drives the red one. Hissadora could have rented another vehicle, but that would have created another witness.
ReplyDeleteU/A, thanks for such an excellent Christmas day treat! You brought all the thrilling details to life.
ReplyDeleteJuanita, "Wow, let's give the TN writers top marks for efficiency! Three deaths in one episode." Ain't that the truth! It surprised me--3 baddies gone in one show! And like cathyx, I didn't really expect Ximena to die.
Juanita, also thank you for the La Poderosa in Alborada ID of Magda Guzmán. Though I didn't get it before, it was more about her voice than her looks. I knew I had heard that voice before!
Sorry UA, our tastes differ on necklaces. Hissa's and the necklace Pablo's mother was wearing look like giant millstones. I kept thinking that these women could drown if they tripped in a deep puddle. Well, that would be one way for for HIssa to go.
What a great way to spend part of Christmas! I was able to catch up with my telenovela...Yea!! I hope all of my Caraymates are having a wonderful day.
I was thinking that death is too good for Isa (at least a quick one). What kind of punishment would be the most satisfying for that whack job in Viewerville's opinion?
ReplyDeleteHave time for a quick thank you, UA for having to deal with all this carnage and conversation.
ReplyDeleteAt least we know Camila is safe and Dio got an eyefull of how much Daniel and Cam are in love and care about each other.
About the rescue--I hope they address this little ooopsie I noticed. Hissy says she left some fabric under a rock for Dio to find. She did tell him exactly where to find it and that he was then to "follow" the drag marks left in the path. Here's my ooopsie--When Camila was fully rescued and got off the stretcher to go talk to Dio and then persuaded by Mariano to get back on--and other scenes as well, THERE WERE NO TEARS IN HER DRESS. In fact it looked pretty much like it did at the fiesta before she disappeared.
Speaking of the Fiesta--Did you all notice the stemware with the blue band around the edge? They got it back from the Refugio wedding just in time. Televisa must have a warehouse somewhere to store these things. I wonder where the Pear Robe is, Vivi? Maybe it has been filed away like the Ark of the Covenant and it's coordinates have disappeared!
Feliz Holidays to One and All.
Anita
Juanita and Barbara--Magda Guzman was also Ruffie in ENDA. She's also in Montecristo, which I've been watching on-line (again).
ReplyDeleteBarbara--ITA about the necklaces, but it takes a powerfully secure woman to carry it off. Still, if it were any larger, they'd definitely fall over frontwards into a mud puddle. I think Isadora's pendant was abalone shell?
I think that is abalone and that stuff isn't cheap. I've made necklaces of it and it's hard to get multiple pieces that match for a decent price. I'm guessing that the rocks in the necklace are acrylic, though, because of the weight.
ReplyDeleteDo not miss any of this week's episodes!
Anita, you are quite a detail person. I didn't think to notice about the skirt. One would think that they would have made a big deal about Bruno cutting her skirt. Maybe it wasn't an oopsie though. Maybe that will be a clue for the scoobies to figure out that it was put there on purpose for Dion to find it.
ReplyDeleteUA- Sounds like it will be a great week then. I don't want to watch ahead and spoil the comments, which I would do for sure.
Nanette, you asked what type of death would be appropriate for Isa? I don't like cruel and unusual punishment like it's practiced in some countries. I would be satisfied with sentencing her to death by lethal injection or the electric chair. Or if we could establish a firing squad just for people like her.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, while we're debating all the evidence that might have been lost with Al and Xi's demise, if all else fails, these villians usually "confides" in someone who later squeels on them. Isa will no doubt tell Dio that she killed Al and Xi and he'll use the info against her.
One way or the other, I don't think the info will be lost.
I prefer life in prison for Isa. Although I'll bet she would be a tough broad in it and rule the roost.
ReplyDeleteThere's no death penalty in Mexico, so I'm betting the writers will dream up a pretty horrid end for her that may or may not include prison.
ReplyDeleteOT: the new Paul Rudd movie se llama This is 40 is pretty dang cute. I love that guy!
ReplyDeleteI only have time to say thank you, UA, for a fabulous recap and especially for doing this on Christmas. It was truly like opening another gift this morning to find this here.
ReplyDeleteYou're all welcome.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all had a great Christmas. I had to cancel my plans due to a bad cold which I hope will be gone by the end of the week.
