At Avon-
Xochy and Alma are chatting about Jesus and how she asked
him if he was in love with Alma and he said that it was professional.
Valentina lets her mommy have it- she is always reprimanding
her Papa Elias and she will never see Papa Jesus, it’s her mom’s fault.
Xochy lets Chucho know that she is in love with him. She has loved him since the first time
she laid eyes on him.
Rogue is discussing the food and wine list for the wedding
reception. Alma could care less.
Chucho is impactado, he had no idea and he tries to let
Xochy down easy. She knows by his
facial expression that she is not his type. Sorry, forget about it.
They will TRY to get to know each other better but only as friends. Xochy doesn’t hear the word try
(intentar).
At Valentina’s House-
Valentina says goodbye to her Barbie dolls and the giant
teddy bear. A distraught Valentina leaves her room.
At Avon-
Xochy is ecstatic, she used Alma’s words and she told him
that she was in love with him and Alma of course takes the scene that she saw
the wrong way. Xochy will ask Alma
to be her maid of honor if things go as she thinks that they will. The other secretaries are happy for
Xochy while a saddened Alma looks on; they are acting like Xochy got engaged.
At Valentina’s-
Valentina calls Elias on Mommy’s green neon phone. He answers roughly thinking that it was
Veronica. Val lets him know that
she knows what’s going on? When is
he coming home?? He is not sure. She can’t see her Papa Jesus either,
and Papa Elias tells her to be patient while he straightens things out. He asks her to promise to wait, but she
hangs up.
At Avon-
Jesus bids Alma goodbye and thanks her for patience and her
support. She thanks Chucho for his
all of his help at work. He wishes
her well in her marriage and will pass by when he can. They are friends and they share a
lovingly long hug. Pati walks in
and notes the affection between them.
Alma tells Pati of Chucho’s new job at Orion and Pati snatches him up
and gives him a hug.
Susana lets Chucho know that Rogue is looking for him.
Pati says that Chucho is one-dime piece!! (On a scale of
1-10, he is 100)
Jessica (who never works) is thrilled that Chucho is finally
leaving and wants to bid him farewell. She tells Xochy that Chucho is not for
her- free advice. What a
beeeaaaachh!
Chucho thanks Rogue for all that he has done for him. Sarcastically Rogue bids him goodbye. If he only knew what was waiting for
him.
At Valentina’s-
Veronica shrieks to Minerva that Valentina is not in her
room. Vero realizes that Valentina
has left.
At Avon-
Fern the male octopus and Jessica are working on each other
in his office. He wants her to come over to his house tonight. She is driving him crazy when she calls
him Licenciada. (Eye rolling time)
Before any nookie, she has asked him to call Xochy to his office and give her
something to do.
He asked Xochy for some information and its quitting time
for her but she has to work late. Jessica is turned on by his forcefulness. (More
eye rolling time)
At Valentina’s-
Since Vero has no one else at home to yell at she starts
yelling at Minerva. She demands that Minerva get her purse, because she can’t
do anything but order people around and she wants the truth- did she tell
Valentina?? Minerva admits that
she did. She gets it together and they both go out to look for Valentina. Vero is such a hypocrite- she always
wants the truth- when is going to come clean about her feelings for Jesus??
At Avon-
Chucho bids Fern goodbye. Fern feigns being busy and Chucho tells him that he doesn’t
do anything but play solitaire and surf the net, going to prohibited sites.
Pati notes that something is amiss with Alma. Today is Chucho’s last day and she is a
little sentimental.
Fern keeps throwing the “g” word around and Chucho snatches him
up and rips him a new one. He
doesn’t slap Fern into next week out of respect for the company. He warns Fern to watch himself because
in life there is poetic justice and karma is bitch!
Pati is wasting Alma’s time (does she do anything else but
shop, screw, work out and sleep??) in trying to find out Alma’s real feelings
for the secretary.
Chucho sadly leaves the building while Joe Bananas and Jimmy
Nostrils
aka Silverio and Malvino are watching him.
Alma is not sure what she feels, admiration, affection or
what??? Alma is talking about on a
professional level and asks Pati to grow up. Pati is all over him at the gym. Pati is single and can feel what she wants but Alma is
taken.
Alma tries to convince herself that she loves Rogue. (I am
ready to fast forward this scene)
Pati tells Alma that she can’t fool herself.
She loves her friend.
(With a friend like Pati, who is sleeping with her man, why would she
need enemies?
A pensive Chucho hears voices calling him, while Silverio
and Malvino are flowing him.
Outside of the Avon Office-
The four Stupids (which now include Jessica) invite Chucho
to a farewell dinner. They don’t
want him to leave on a bitter note.
Chucho doesn’t hold any grudges.
Malvino and Silverio are as confused ever and decide to follow. It’s
going to be an unforgettable dinner.
At Avon-
As usual Pati is the female octopus counterpart, who is all
over Rogue in his office. Rogue
wants to know exactly what Alma said and thinks about Jesus. Pati tells him about the passionate
good-bye hug that Alma and Jesus shared.
At Valentina’s-
A frantic Vero is still screaming and is desperate to find
Valentina. She and her green neon
phone try to call Elias and she has to leave a message. It’s his fault that Valentina
left, and she thanks him, sarcastically .
She tries Jesus’ phone and it goes straight to voice mail. Val has 2 dads and neither one answers
their phone. Minerva suggests that
she call the police. Vero (with
half a brain) calls the police.
At a restaurant-
Elias (like a kid in the candy store) orders a real dinner
with nothing bland. He look
orgasmic as he is eating and eating and eating whatever he feels like. The most greasy dishes that they had
lamb, tortillas, with hot sauce guacamoles, pork, beef, chicken, skins, tacos, the
sweetest dessert-chocolate cake, tequila and 2 beers, etc. (All of the Vero forbidden foods) The
waiter and Viewerville look on in amazement.
In the park-
Valentina is at the park and gets frightened by a barking
dog, named Diablo. She starts to
cry.
At the restaurant_
The four Stupids arrive at the restaurant and Jesus feels
uncomfortable at such an expensive restaurant. The Stupids are insulted at first but then sit to eat.
Fern calls Jessica and she informs him that she is taking
Jesus out to dinner at an expensive restaurant. She will see him later at his place.
At Avon-
Pati is still at the office; while Rogue wants to tear Jesus
from limb to limb Pati is all over Rogue.
Fern interrupts. Fern
congratulates his brother on his good taste. Fern gives his brother the update on Jesus, who is still
alive is having dinner at the
At Marsela’s Shack-
Marsela arrives home to her dad, still in pain) and a home
cooked dinner. Marsela wanted a salad
is not hungry and goes to bed. Her
dad repaired the roof and he finds
her expensive purse and wonders how did she get it.
At the restaurant-
The four Stupids toast Jesus and realize that he is not so
bad. Jesus goes to the bathroom;
he thanks them and tells them that they are not bad people. The Stupids leave without paying. What a$$holes!! Jesus returns and receives the
bill. I’m disgusted and he is
impactada.
Coming attractions:
Valentina is at Avon talking to Alma, Alma takes Valentina to Jesus’
house and Malvino and Silverio hit Jesus.
Hi all,
ReplyDeleteThis was a silly episode, thank goodness for little Valentina, who I find adorable. She is more mature and bearable than some of the adults at Avon. I guess that every now and then you have to have a filler.
Tablet Jefa, thank you for such a quick and complete recap. I don't know how you guys do it.
ReplyDeleteNow that he is no longer employed by Avon, it looks like Jesús is taking the gloves off in dealing with the idiots like Fernando.
Yeah!
It was so sad with Alma asking Jesús for one of his famous hugs which she had to describe later as a brotherly hug since her reaction was not sisterly at all. Seems like Pati knows what the real story is even if Alma doesn't want to admit it.
Yes, Elías was like a kid in a candy store. It was great seeing him liberated from Verónica.
Jarifa
''My pierce, my pierce, my kingdom for a pierce''
ReplyDeleteWhat if...
If Jesús was impactado and sorpresado hearing Xóchitl love declaration, why did he give a very long goodbye handshake to Alma, almost scratching her palm with a finger? Yuk!
If Jesús got a fat check for the few days he has been working at Avon... how much would he make with Orion?
If Jesús gets into a fight, doesn't that affects his parole?
If Jesús is beaten up in broad daylight on the street, wouldn't that affect his parole?
Miscellaneous:
Reading TVyNovelas is not only bad for your health because of the gossip, also because you have to hold it so close to your eyes!
For someone so mysophobic as Vero, surprises me she had 3 zebra urinals in the living room!
Trivia:
The Caption Lady hasn't come up with a word for AMIGUI... FRIENDY, maybe?
I just spotted Virgin #3 in Mariselas tejabán. And speaking of purses, this one has a zipper. Is it still a clutch bag? Sorry! I am curious.
Valentina wishes those were Barbie dolls, they look more like dollar store dolls for me...
Vocabulary:
Zángano - some fly, parasite
Picarona (de pícara(o) -naughty
Baño de jicarazo (jícara) -bowl,Taking a bath with a bucket.
Estar en el ajo - To be alert
Pinole - powder made of toasted and ground corn for a beberage.
So, when I saw Jesús about to be attacked by Malvino and Silverio before fading to black for commercial break, why was I not surprised to return to the scene with no thugs in sight?
So now even these cutscenes are unreliable?
Well... I like Pati now throwing italian words here and there...
Tablet Jefa, Thanks for a wonderfully detailed recounting of tonight's action packed capitulo. You go to the heart of everyone's real thoughts and pretend justifications to hide the truth.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised that Jessica and the Sillies pulled another practical joke at Jesus' expense, literally. Now let's see if ANY work gets done at Avon. At least Alma and Xochi will miss Jesus.
Marisela made me mad again being such an ingrate with her poor Papa. All the while it was fun to watch Veronica reap the discord and abuse she has sown for so many weeks on little Valentina. Valentina is so scared but acts bravely. The previews look like she will be found by Alma somehow but they always trick us on how things will actually roll out.
I hope Elias doesn't have terminal acid stomach after indulging in all the forbidden foods and as for sensual deprivation, he deserves to have some dirty fun with Pati after the anteseptic Veronica has deprived him of love and warmth all this time.
Thank you y much as gracias, TJ and all of you amazing recappers! I could not figure out these translations myself and you all make it so entertaining!! Elias is like me on every Friday night. Friday nights are when I do whatever I want that is good for my soul ( but not my body) !! Gertie
ReplyDeleteTJ:
ReplyDeleteWonderful and funny recap and really liked your title. I was laughing all the way through your recap. My favorite line:
Does Pati just shop, screw, work out and sleep?
Joe Bananas and Jimmy Nostrils aka Silvero and Malvino, lol.
I felt so bad for Valentina tonight. Saying goodbye to her Barbies, going out on her own to find her dads, being scared by the dog. Vero should be very ashamed of herself and that poor nurse. She didn't deserve that dressing down by Vero. Vero needs to grow up and stop being all about her, her, her and give a little. She is supremely selfish!
Poor Chucho! When it rains it pours, but good for him for shaking Fern by the lapels and telling him just like it was. Those Four Stupids are truly annoying, may the anvil of fate hit them all when they least expect it. Don't like Malvino and Silvero trying to hurt poor Chucho.
Elias was trying to cram all the food he had been denied all this time into his poor tummy. I agree with Cheryl, I hope he doesn't get the reflux from hell.
Paty sure was snooping for info. She knows what Alma is really feeling for Chucho. I really think Paty will instigate something.
It was nice to see Xochi smiling for once and not crying again. Poor thing only heard what she wanted to hear.
Maricela needs to get a grip. Instead of griping about her life situation, why doesn't she try to better herself and I also don't like the fact she takes her frustrations out on her Papa.
Pablo:
Yes, that is still a clutch purse. They come in so many different styles, some do have zippers while others have clasps.
It's so nice to wake up to a chuckle. Thanks, Tablet Jefa, this was so much fun to read.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess that Jésus' check will all be spent over that dinner. What a nasty trick. There are some cracks in the silliness facades at last. The older silly with the mustache was getting to know Jésus and having second thoughts about their final nastiness -- but the others shut him up -- and he left when they did.
The sweetest scenes were Valentina's tearful good-bye to her dolls & teddy bears and Elias' ecstatic enjoyment of all the forbidden fats. It was also touching when Alma came out of her office and sadly watched Xochi & Jésus.
Güera
Pablo, I love the list, thank you
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Elías went to El Rey de Cabrito in Monterrey (we've been there - even introduced some DF folks to it LOL!). DH and I really enjoyed that scene. We have great cabrito here in the Valley, being close to Nuevo Leon. It's probably the official state dish of Nuevo Leon. We took some visiting family out for cabrito just this past Sunday. I think they looked just like Elías there pigging out.
ReplyDeleteOh my, this was a painful episode to watch. I knew that Jessica and the Three Stupids were planning a mean trick on Chucho and my heart just sank when they went to the most expensive restaurant in town.
ReplyDeleteAnd Valentina looks so much like my granddaughter that I was just in agony watching her frightened by that dog and curling up in exhaustion in that tree. It's just a story! just a story! (sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't)
Loved your comparing Fernando to a male octopus, Tablet Jefa. Pati as well, of course. But her scenes are so funny I don't care. Whipping her hair around like a banshee and clambering over various pieces of furniture in crazed lust, she just steals the scene. Great comedienne.
My other favorite part was the long, long, long hug between our two beautiful protagonists. More of that please! And less of greasy Fernando and mean girl Jessica.
And thanks for the vocab list Pablo. I noticed that Xochi also used "sueños guajiros" last night, so that is one new vocab word that is going to stick with me. I need LOTS of repetition, God knows.
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking a lot about Marisela and something doesn't add up.
She's a secretary, lives WITH HER FATHER, who surely pays most of the expenses because he works, she doesn't look well dressed because is always wearing that uniform, so, where does she spend her money??
She's always complaining but doesn't do anything. Her salary must be equal to the rest, Doña Susana (who has a unemployed husband and still can stretch her budget), Xóchitl (we still don't know who she lives with, but she makes it with what she earns), Jesús himself with only one week working got more than 10,000 pesos!
Minimum wage in Monterrey is around 100 pesos for the day. Let's say 2,000 in one month. Marisela has been working in Avon for a while and she should be saving, she doesn't even have a car...
Where there's a will there's a way.
Looks like she spends all she has in hair extensions, shoes and make up, and that, she could be getting for free with samples and so on...
Maybe she likes to keep whining and is waiting for the prince to come and rescue her, LOL
Much thanks TJ for having the patience to watch this entire episode thru and give us the details. I have to admit, there were parts I just had to flip the dial on and re-watch a soccer match.
ReplyDeleteJudy, I am with you, I could not watch poor little Val last night. I would like to take the stupid neon phone of Vero's and wring the cord....well you get my drift. This little actress is just amazing.
On the other hand, I had a total hoot watching Elias finally indulging in "real" food. and he didn't even look like he was over stuffed at the end. Loved the little dab to the mouth at the end as if he finally realized he may have been a little over zealous in his gorging. Lord, I love him!! Unless there is some MAJOR overhaul of the Vero character, this guy needs a new woman in his life.
I would like to take Sara's suggestion from the other day responding to my distain of Maricela and do a tribal counsel and vote her off the island. Truly, one can be a spoiled brat without riches, and she qualifies in spades.
Could see Chucho being stiffed at the restaurant a mile away. Stupid is as stupid does...he has his big check and will most likely have to dig into it...but I hope he goes back to the office and let's them have it. Seems he already is comfortable with that after the Fern episode. What's he got to lose?
Wonder if Val will fight to have to go home to mumsy? Custody battle in the making?
Thanks, TJ! What a painful episode, but you made it enjoyable. LOVED Joe Bananas and Jimmy Nostrils. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tablet Jefa! Muy, pero muy, entertaining recap.
ReplyDeleteI hope Chucho only pays his own portion of the restaurant bill and gives them the names and addresses of the others to send the police or collection agency after them. Why should he be responsible for the whole group?
Poor Valentina. She almost made me cry when she was so alone and terrified.
I can't believe Chucho is really free of Avon. It's too central a setting for our show. So many of the characters work there. I'm afraid he'll get sucked back somehow.
If Marisela hates her home life so much, why doesn't she use her salary to get herself an apartment? I guess she'd rather whine, or she thinks anything less than extreme luxury isn't good enough for her.
It seems like they let all the nasties back into the script last night. I hope they don't leave Jesús standing there too long with that check (although I don't want to see him beat up, either!)
ReplyDeleteMusings on a Friday afternoon: we still may see more of Sansón--if he appears anywhere between episode #25 and about episode #134 (where they seem to be in México right about now) :)
ReplyDeleteJarifa
Tablet jefa, thanks for this excellent recap. Very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I enjoy food, I was put off by Elias' little orgy. The food looked great but he reminded me of Nikki (AV) during one of her gorging binges. Maybe living under Verónica's strict rules is actually what he needs.
I love dogs but Diablo gave me a fright. He looked fully prepared to eat little Tina.
Carlos
I have the same concern as Julia. How is it possible that Jésus is leaving Avon? It's the central theme of the show -- his role as secretario -- and, as Julia said, so many of the characters work there. I just have a bad feeling about the new job.
