La Tempestad, Capitulo 11. August 12, 2013.

Marina asks Damian where he gets the idea that she’s jealous.  He tells her he only speaks the truth.  She assures him he’s so wrong.  He doesn’t know her feelings at all.  You’re right replies Damian.  You have no feelings.  Your heart is made of stone.  With that he takes his leave.

Damian sees Lazaro and asks where’s he’s been.  Lazaro tells him that his mom went to see his uncle, the priest, and complained that he and his cronies are a bad influence.  But I don’t think so and my uncle agrees.  He promises to work extra hours to make up for the time lost.  Damian wants to know if what Bagre ways is true.  Did you find a woman?  Yes, replies Lazaro, but it’s not like that.  Jaz is my friend and we are in love.

Madrina tells Marina that she and her father have the same characteristics.

Valdivia visits Hernan and tells him that one of the girls escaped.  But the worst is that someone saw Nerdo perusing the girl and made a call to the Feds.

Marina asks Madrina if she knew her father.  Of course, replies Madrina.  I always knew you would return.  Marina thinks she’s confusing her with someone else.  Your mind must have erased it says Madrina.  Your father came here to look after his business.  What business asks Marina?  The packing plant you inherited answers Madrina.  Marina thinks she’s confused.  She was brought in to administer.  It was a pretext that destiny used to bring you back.  Your father brought you here when you were 5 or 6 years old.  That day you played with your father’s best friend’s son.  He was 7 or 8.  I figured you would remember, but time has erased your memory.  You both forgot.  Who was that boy asks Marina.  The one that your dad gave “La Tempestad” too.  It was Michel Fabre’s son, Damian.

Damian visits Delfina to make the marriage arrangements and to talk to Fulgencio.  Esthercita says there is no need.  Mayuya pipes in that she needs more time to sabotage, I mean finish the wedding guest list.  Esthercita says just invite the whole town.  Damian says he is one that doesn’t avoid taking his “bad medicine”.  Am I that bad medicine asks Esthercita? (yeah you are, but I’m guessing Damian wants to be a gentlemen)

Mercedes tells Lara that she found out who made the anonymous tip, but doesn’t want to divulge that.  She wants to protect them.  Lara agrees, but later on when the time is right, they will need to give a statement.  Mercedes is making plans to come right away, but Lara thinks it’s best to wait.  We don’t want anyone to know we’re working together.

Bettina tells Jaz she wants to leave.  Jaz wants to also, but tells Bettina that she doesn’t know the kind of power these people have.  Don’t make it worse.  Nerdo walks in and tells Bettina to make sure she behaves.  Jaz says she will and Nerdo reminds her to behave as well.  Otherwise he will do something to her sister.

Hernan wants to kill Nerdo.  Because of him the Feds are investigating.  I don’t want any more women brought here until the situation is under control.  Valdivia doesn’t think anything will happen.

Damian says he was talking about her dad.  You know he despises me.  That’s why I came here, to talk man to man.  Fulgencio walks in and says that is what we are going to do.

Marina can’t believe she and Damian were friends as kids.  How could I have forgotten that?  Madrina says you only came once and you never knew each other’s names.  You called him “Cuerito” and he called you “Hermosura”.  That day when you were saying goodbye, he was really sad and you wouldn’t stop crying. 

Fulgencio asks Damian if presenting himself would erase all the damage he did.  Esthecita attempts to interrupt, but Fulgencio tells her to stay out of it.  He looks at Damian and says he loved Esthercita and wanted the best for her.  He wanted to see her married to a good man and give him lots of grandkids.  But then you arrived and all my plans have vanished.  Damian doesn’t see it that way.  Fulgencio asks then how does he see it?  You made her the talk of the town.  I don’t want you to marry my daughter.  Esthercita starts crying and Delfina tries to plead with Fulgencio, but he tells her not to interfere and Esthercita to stop crying.  Fulgencio tells Damian that he is not what he wanted for his daughter (but she wants him).  Damian says he’ll leave then.  Fulgencio tells Damian he’s not done with him yet.  He knows it took a lot of gumption for him to come to his house even though he sent him to jail.  Damian assures Fulgencio that he hasn’t forgotten.  Fulgencio says you clean up my daughter’s image and I will clean up yours.  With that I request your presence at dinner.

Hernan tells Valdivia that it’s all Fulgencio’s fault for not keeping Damian in jail.  Valdivia reminds him that Fulgencio had no choice since Esthercita announced to the whole world that Damian was innocent.  Valdivia gets b!tcedslapped after he criticizes Hernan for stopping the attack of “La Tempestad”.  Hernan says never again question my decision.

At the church services, Lazaro spots Jaz.

Valdivia yells at Nerdo for letting Jaz out.  Nerdo says he needed essentials.  And anyway if she flees or talks, she knows I’ll do something to her sister.  Valdivia says the Feds are in town investigating and questioning everyone.  Someone saw you perusing that girl at the beach.  Hernan wants you to keep the girls inside.  Bettina hears the men talking.  Valdivia tells Nerdo to stop the operation.  Nerdo says Fulgencio’s my boss and not Hernan.

Damian turns down the lovely offer of dinner.  He didn’t come to eat with them, but to keep his word and ask for Esthercita’s hand.  So now that it is done, I have nothing left to do here.  Fulgencio tells Damian that he is trying to make amends.  Damian laughs and says let’s not lie to ourselves.  I came to fix things.  You and I will never eat at the same table.  Fulgencio asks if he wants to continue the feud between himself and his father.  (What, the dirty look you were getting wasn’t clear?)  Your father said he was an honorable man but spread lies about me that he couldn’t prove.  Damian says he didn’t have get to.  They killed him before he had the proof.  Delfina tells Damian to forget the past.  Fulgencio says he’s just like his father.  Do you want a public apology?  Damian says I don’t need one, everyone is town knows I was a victim.  With that Damian leaves.

Nerdo and Valdivia the idiots keep talking in front of Bettina.  They mention Hernan and Fulgencio several times.  Valdivia thinks the Feds suspect Fulgencio.

Lazaro the altar boy falls down while holding the (I don’t know what this is).  Father Tomas gives communion and he gets all excited when Jaz comes for hers.  She goes back to her seat and they have a staring contest.

Olindo tells Fulgencio that Marina wants to talk to him about the pirates and seeks protection.  Fulgencio says he has no way to help, but changes his mind when Olindo thinks perhaps the Feds can.  Fulgencio suspects Marina made the call to the Feds and if he finds out she did, she’s dead.

Marina tells Hernan about her mother.  Luckily, Jose and another person where there to help her.  Hernan wants to know who that other person was to thank them, but Marina says she already did it.  He tells her that he is there for her and will help take care of her mother.  He just wants her happy and he creepily stokes her hair while hugging her.

Ernesto visits Mercedes club.  He wanted to stop by for a visit.  She looks beautiful or sparkly he says.  He tries to talk about old times, but she ain’t hearing it.  You kept me hostage and I felt like trash.  Because you were and still are replies Ernesto.  (this deserves a b!tchslap) but Mercedes tells him to leave.  She doesn’t what to see him unless it is to return her daughter.  Ernesto doesn’t know where she is.  Mercedes guards asks her if there is a problem.  Yes, replies Mercedes.  Take this animal away and remember his face.  I don’t want him in here again.

Marina is at her mother’s bedside.  Beatriz tells Marina that Damian was a gentleman.  Marina says he’s frustrating.  They talk about Madrina and Marina wants to know why Beatriz never told her that she was here when she was a girl and that her father was the owner of the packing plant.  Beatriz never knew that.  Then why would my dad keep that a secret?

Esthercita gets onto Damian for treating her dad badly.  He tells her he will not argue with her about this or any other thing.  (Just wait till your married buddy. She looks annoying)  He has things to do.  Esthercita begs him to tell her he loves her.  Where getting married replies Damian.  Isn’t that enough?  Esthercita wants to hear the words.  Damian assures her he will keep his promise. (Guess she has never read “He’s just not that into you” or she’s completely dense). 

Marina asks Jose how long he has known Mercedes.  Years, but don’t know how many replies Jose.  Marina asks if she brought the packing plant from her dad.  Jose pretends he doesn’t know.  He says he doesn’t know anything about Mercedes businesses.  She’s very discreet.  Marina says since the first day I met her, I sensed that she tells you a lot.  Yes, but nothing important replies Jose.

Beatriz is looking at a box containing something pink and some jewelry.  She picks up a little purse and sees it has the town name on it.  She’s shocked and realizes that Marina was here once. (what you never noticed when it when you put it away?)

Jose asks Marina what worries her.  Marina replies that her dad owned the packing plant, he was the first owner, as a young girl visited once and that she and Damian were friends.  Who would have thought it?

Jaz sees Lazaro at the church cleaning.  She can only stay for a second.  She came to buy Nerdo some rum.  Lazaro quickly kisses her and she tells him how handsome he looked as the altar boy although a bit clumsily.  He says because you were here and you were sitting next to my mother.  Jaz really liked her (if you only knew about her shrilly voice, you wouldn’t).  Lazaro kisses Jaz again and Father Tomas yells out his name.

Hernan spots Damian walking down the road.  Hernan wants to know why the other day he refused to shake his hand.  He embarrassed him in front of the woman he loves.  Damian says he’s not in the mood today to tell everyone what goes on in his life.  So go find yourself an idiot to play your games with.  Damian turns to leave and Hernan grabs his arm telling him not to disrespect him.  You have no idea who I am.  Damian assures him he knows that he’s a man who thinks he could buy anything with his money.  In other words, you’re a jerk.  Hernan takes a swing at him, but Damian ducks and throws his own punch.  Hernan is punched in the stomach and face.  He falls to the ground and groans while holding his face.  Not a hair has moved on Damian’s gorgeous head.  Hernan tries again to punch him but Damian grabs him by the throat and puts him on a wall and starts choking him out.  (We get a lovely view of his backside in nice tight pants.  Note to Hernan, this is how you wear tight pants).  Hernan struggles to get him off.  Valdivia comes by and puts a gun to Damian’s head.  Hernan tells Valdivia to kill him, it’s an order!  Jose walks by and sees this all going down.

Father Tomas tells Jaz to wait in the church until Lazaro has finished his work.  Jaz says she has to go, her family is very strict and she’s not allowed to talk to strangers.  Father Tomas tells her to run home and ask permission to dine with him today. “I’m sure your parents won’t mind”.

Jose draws a gun on Valdivia tells him to drop it and asks what’s going on?  Valdivia drops the gun from Damian’s head and backs away.  Damian releases Hernan’s throat and he quickly draws in a breath.  Damian tells Jose he doesn’t need to tell him what’s going on.  It’s his business.  (Way to be grateful there).  Hernan tells Damian that if he disrespects Marina again, he will know who he is.  You’ve been warned.

At the factory, Marina is giving orders.  Olindo runs up to her excited that they will be able to fill all their customers’ orders.  Marina is happy too.  Oso comes by and tells Marina that since she has come, things have been better.  He also wants to apologize for the way he treated her.  “It’s nice to know that not everyone behaves/thinks like the captain”.  Oso reminds her that she is also to blame.  “What did you want” replies Marina.  “For the captain to spend his all his time kissing his girlfriend?”  Oso says Damian is a man of his word and promised to marry her to clean her image.  Although she’s not the woman for him.

Esthercita and Mayuya are at the dress shop.  She puts into Esthercita’s head that Marina wants her man.

Beatriz shows Marina the box and the purse.

Damian is on the boat fresh from a shower still pissed about the Hernan encounter. 

Marina finds a coral in the purse.  She doesn’t remember who gave it to her.  Beatriz suggests the captain’s father.  She comments that Damian doesn’t seem like a bad person.  He was very nice to her, but she still thinks that they both should keep their distance.  Marina says they are just have an employer/employee relationship.  His madrina says we were friends as kids.  Beatriz says that was then, this is now. Marina agrees.  Beatriz then tells her that Jose saw Hernan and Damian get into a fight and one of this guards put a gun to Damian’s head.  She has a feeling that they were fighting about her.

Hernan asks Valdivia who Jose is.  I don’t know replies Valdivia.  I just know he came to town with Marina.  What’s worse if that you are going to look back to Marina.  Hernan confidently says he knows how to manage things.  I have her mother at my side.

Marina visits Damian at the cave. What are you doing here asks Marina.  I come here to think replies Damian.  Marina wants to talk.  Damian says they have nothing to talk about.  Then I lost some recording due to the weather.  Then I get that Marina didn’t tell Hernan anything and says she’s not his girl.  Damian asks if they are lovers.  She goes to slap him, but he catches her hand and brings her roughly up against is chiseled chest.  They look into each other’s eyes and he goes in for the kiss.  Nice. 

Manana: More smoldering kissing and Esthercita confronts and attacks Marina.
