VIDA Ep. 68 Part 1
ReplyDeletePaula explains to Lor that Pepe is a great support for her, but he is giving up time with his children. Lor reminds her that is what a person does--make sacrifices for those whom he loves. Paula thinks it is she who needs to make the sacrifice...let go of Pepe. She had never loved like this and it is more important that Pepe be happy rather than to be with her. It is not fair to Pepe and she doesn;t want to drag him into what is coming for her. Lor urges that she needs to focus on the positive and heal, but Paula argos that her tumor is growing...there could come a night when she goes to sleep and never wake up. She doesn't want to do that to Pepe. Lor adds that Pepe will suffer regard;ess of whether he is with her or not. Paula is adamant that she wants Pepe to suffer the least possible.
Zaida is surprised that Pepe has gone for her and asks why she should trust him. Very short answers from Pepe who keeps telling her to get in the truck.
At the restaurant, Gnat lashes her forked tongue at Gracia asking what it is that she wants to talk about. When Gracia tells her it has to do with the family--Gnat, Rosa and herself, Gnat points out that Gracia is nothing to her, she is just her adoptive mother's sister, so they are not family! When Gracia tells her that she should have been spanked as a child, Gnat lashes out a "how dare you!" and continues on with more insults. Just then, Rosa appears and tells Gnat not to talk to Gracia like that!
Diego is not too keen on the idea of Andi kissing Art at the "romantic night" and reminds Andi that she told Art that she only wanted to be friends with him. Andi explains that she only said that so that Art wouldn't think she was like all the other girls...and is sure Art is interested in her (poor girl is in for some heartache!)...there are signs. Diego asks that she not get her hopes up, but Andi is convinced that Art has always been looking for a girl like her. Andi then gets a call from Rafa asking her to go....somewhere...
Andi is with Rafa at a new house. He explains that this is where they will be living together and starting a new life.
Pepe explains to Zaida that Lor asked him to give her a chance.He assumes that the first thing Zaida will want to do is look for Andi,,,but he will protect his niece from her and anyone else! Zaida replies that she would never hurt Andi.
Back at the restaurant, Gnat keeps growling that Gracia is NOTHING to her! When Gracia blurts out that she is her mother, Gnat gives a big "QUE???"
Rol is sitting at Lor's house like he's large and in charge. Paula tells him that if he is going to insist on living there to please stay away from her! Rol starts with his I'm not your enemy, I want to protect you speech for the millionth time FFW to Paula dropping her glass and not understanding how she could have dropped it...as her hand shakes.
Pepe tells Zaida how Andi has always asked about her, but Rafa made them promise not to mention her name or anything about her. Zaida cries that she knows...Andi thinks that she abandoned her. When Pepe goes on to justify Rafa's decision, Zaida cries that they didn't even give her a chance to explain.
Andi reminds Rafa that she is still disappointed in him. She wants to live with her grandparents...then adds that he doesn;t want her there because she is his daughter, he is just afraid to be alone! (Gotta love that girl!)
Rosa explains to Gnat how she came to adopt her (wasted words!) Gnat will NEVER be "this woman's" daughter!
More hogwash from Rol. Paula gives a big speech about how she used to be and how she trusted Gnat. She points out that Rol is taking advantage of her, but Lor cured and new lawyer and she will fight them...until she gets Rol out of her and her kid's lives!
VIDA Ep. 68 Part 2
ReplyDeleteZaida and Pepe continue their conversation. Pepe tells her that he and Rafa no longer have the relationship they used to have. Zaida wonders if Rafa is still in love with MAL. When Pepe mentions finding out about Rafa and MAL's affair, she guesses that MAL is the woman Rafa was going to marry. Zaida asks how Rafa is; so Pepe tells her that Rafa is not well...he has distanced himself from the family. Pepe worries about how Rafa will react once he finds out that Zaida has returned.
Rafa tries to convince Andi to live with him, but she reminds him that everything he did changed their relationship. When he tells her that he needs her, Andi replies that she needed him too, but sometimes when a person is alone, they mature more (wise beyond her years!).
Gnat is in angry tears as she rants about having the luck (misfortune) to have a mere cook as her mother, a woman she hates! A woman who makes her sick just to look at her! She continues her hateful rant and when she finally storms off, Rosa begins to feel sick.
Paula is reproaching Rol about letting German die when she has a moment of memory loss. She can't remember what she was talking about. She starts walking around and when Rol offers to help her to her room, Paula refuses and tells him to leave. Rol, however, follows her to her room and video tapes her as she hallucinates and talks to German and asks why he is there. German tells her he is there for her in her memories...and asks why she wants to leave Pepe. Rol listens and tapes as Paula explains why she has to let Pepe go.Later, Rol tells Paula that if she leaves Pepe, he just might drop the interdiction process.
Zaida is afraid Andrea will reject her when she finds out that she killed a man. Pepe suggests that she wait to talk to Rafa so that they can figure out how to tell Andrea, but Zaida wants to tell Andrea on her own.
Still feeling ill, Rosa worries about Zaida who is changing so much.
Andi, Art and Diego prepare decorations for the romantic party. Diego watches on looking uncomfortable and annoyed as Andi flirts with Art. Lucia arrives and wants to help. Andi tells her to dress up for the party...because Andi wants Lucia to sing with her.
Gracia calls Gnat and tells her that Rosa is feeling very ill and needs to be taken to a doctor.
Pepe and Zaida arrive at Lor's house; so Lor takes her up to meet Paula. Lor introduces her and tells Paula that Zaida prefers to be called "Sofia" which is her middle name. Lor then tells ZaiSo that he needs to go tell Rafa that she is out of prison.
Gnat arrives to take Rosa to the doctor. When Gracia tells her that she wants to accompany them, Gnat growls NO!
ZaiSo is very grateful for all they are doing for her. Paula explains that she has arrived just at the right time since her family needs her. Paula then explains how her life has changed because of her tumor. After ZaiSo promises to do all she can to help them, Paula shares that she needs help mostly with Diego.
Paula takes ZaiSo to meet Suzy who already knows that ZaiSo is a psychologist.
Paula, Pepe and the kids are about to have dinner when MAL arrives to drop off Teo. After Pepe asks her if Teo can sleep over, MAL agrees and adds a comment about not being invited to dinner, so Paula asks that she stay... and Paula has a favor to ask of her.
Lor is with Rafa who tells Lor that he has something to tell him. He then tells him about his wheelin' and dealin' with Gnat.
MAL pierces Paula's ear (which is the favor Paula asked of her) so Paula scratched that off her list. Before leaving, Paula speaks privately with MAL. She tells MAlL that she can tell MAL still loves Pepe. When MAL asks why she is telling her this, Paula shares that she is thinking of ending her relationship with Pepe.
And there it ends...

You illuminated this intense, sad episode with insight and heart. You perfecctly captured all the highly charged emotions that ran rampant throughout.
Paula's conversation with German made me feel as though I was eavesdropping on something intensely private. Rol of course, had no such reservation, standing there recording Paula, completely invading her personal space. "Rol tells Paula that if she leaves Pepe, he just might drop the interdiction process". What a rabid dog.
Andi, the wisest character in this entire novela proves she is all too human. I mistakenly thought Andi sensed and understood Art and Diego's attraction. Sadly, she does not. As you sagely noted "(poor girl is in for some heartache!)".
"ZaiSo" (love it) and Paula have already bonded and Rafa still has absolutely no idea she is "home". Neither does Andi who is going to be shocked and overwhelmed.
Gnat gnashes her teeth at Gracia and sends poor Rosa into another spell.
Paula is still savvy enough to know "Rol is taking advantage of her" yet shockingly, decides to hand Pepe over to MAL on a silver platter. Que?

Paula and that fluffy brain of hers.It's irritatingthat she makes a decision and then is like 'no,I changed my mind.' Her decision here has no logic. But what I find even stranger is that she definitely must have had some idea of what it would mean for Pepe to be with her becausethis was the reason why she was hesitant to start the whole thing. Now she again changes her mind...I can't take it. I can't decide if this was meant as 'the tumour made me do it' or if it's another one of those 'look what a self-sacrificing person our protagonista is'. Whichever it is, it doesn't make me like Paula.
I don't like the fact Andi was pretending to be different. I don't like lies.
Pee somehow seems to think they did the right thing by not telling anything to Andi. He sounded strangely convinced they were right even though he doesn't know the whole story. Did he even bother asking?
Even if Rafa didn't love Zaida, his disinterest to know what happened shows a lack of empathy or really any care towards her. He got so angry she was unfaithful that it almost appears he felt something for her. But then his infidelity deserves understanding? And Zaida loves this dolt? Why? Is she into misery and suffering or what? Rafa definitely lacks consideration for how other people feel and I'm not sure you can learn to care when you are as self-absorbed as he is. I had a lot of tolerance for his nonsense but I ran out of all my supplies.

I’m so mad at Paula for planning to dump Pepe. Maybe she should explain how she feels and let him decide how much of his life and time he wants to devote to her. And why do they all think MAL has changed? Rafa needs to tell his brother what he knows about her kidnapping. It makes me mad when people know something important about a character and keep it to themself.
Nat took the news of Gracia being her mother like a spoiled little brat. No surprise there.
I’m hoping Sofía will see everyone for who they really are and expose some of these people.
I loved the scene with Paula and German. Of course Rol had to record it since I’m sure he still plans to take everything from her.
I was surprised Rafa told Lor the truth about losing the money. But how is he able to afford that house? Andi was smart to choose her grandmother. She’s got more on the ball than her dad.

QTH? indeed. Back in capítulo #55, Natalia was told that Gracia is her mother instead of Rosa. That was the same time Gnat learned she is adopted. Did the writers have a brain fart?

I love Waterlily's I can't decide if this was meant as 'the tumour made me do it' or if it's another one of those 'look what a self-sacrificing person our protagonista is'. Whichever it is, Paula is becoming a very exasperating character and I too am getting tired of it.
Liz, It makes me mad when people know something important about a character and keep it to themself. I'm totally with you on this and these writers are notorious for this. However, Rafa probably won't mention this to Pepe because he believed all of MAL's BS when he confronted her about it. What irritates me even moe is when the liars and schemers are confronted and expected to admit to all their evil deeds.
Doris, I honestly don't remember Gnat being told that Gracia is her mother when she first was told that she was adopted. Hmmmm, if it's so, you're right...writer's brain fart!

Where to begin? Doris, like you, I thought that gnat ( no caps at all anynore) already was told that Gracia was her biomom. I think that we are paying more attention to these storylines than the writers.
So...somehow after being in jail for years, Lor visits Zaida and then prestobingo ....she is released . ..and she is a psychologist now and is going to use her middle name Sofia . Is this a device so that some people will hear about Sofia and not realize it is Zaida out and about ? I was sure that MAL was somehow involved with Zaida going to jail. She immediately bonds with Paula and Susy .
Big Baby Rafa tells his brand new dad that " Gee Dad, I gave all that money you gave me without blinking an eye to gnat because she slept with me and rocked my socks. ...but I know you have lots more ...so ...no biggie, right? ," This huge , whiny baby is unbelievable .
I was hoping that German was going to point at Rol while rotten Rol was filming Paula and tell her " Hey, that guy killed me !"
So...everyone thinks MAL is a new woman because she is wearing more clothes and not wearing those tight brands and has a scar on her face ???? And Paula's bucket list includes an ear piercing ,and she wants BSC who still gives people witchy looks to do the honors ??? Watching MAL hanging around looking for an invite for dinner with that happy family was so funny.
I want to see what happens when Sozaida meets Big Baby and BSC MAL. I hope that she can protect Paula by telling her exactly how dangerous MAL is.
This whole show is getting to be a lot . I need it to end soon . Too depressing . I think Susana made a mistake doing this one .

ReplyDeleteWell, it seems I'm the one with a brain fart instead of the writers..... I went back to episode #55 and fFWD thru most of it. That's the episode where Gracia learns from Rosa that Natalia is her baby she gave up....
But i still think there has been a scene, since then, where Nat was told Gracia was her mother. When Los Castillo found out the land was registered in Nat's name, didn't Gracia tell Rosa that she (Gracia) was the one who should talk to Nat about that... as her mother?\
IDK....this telenovela is leaving me desquiciada. ;-) I need to take some advice posted here on Caray! many years ago by "Creemelo" that said SSTE of ---- "just imagine your brain as a pear in partially set jello."

And getting her ear pierced was on her bucket list? She looks like her lobes are already pierced. Juarever . . .

Paula doesn't know that MALena tried to kill her 60+ episodes ago. I'm not sure that anyone knows -- with the possible exception of Rolando -- so the big revelation will have to be MALena bragging about it as we approach her Karmageddon. However, in view of the ugly verbal exchanges between them she should not have requested anything involving a sharp object from her.
I fear that Rolando will have her cornered at a more vulnerable moment in the future and she will need to be rescued by Pepe, Lorenzo, or her sons.
Rafa can't grow a brain; I predict he will still be the fool at the end.
I feel very bad for Andrea, Rosa, and Gracia.

TU VIDA #69 Part 1/2
ReplyDeleteOkay.... I got this turkey done before heading out on morning duties. Aren't you lucky? (LOL...NOT!!!)
I’m sitting at The Patio of Lowered Expectations and need something stronger than tea or coffee to get me through this. Here is last night’s recrap with typos. Some scenes combined, some left out, because, ugh. These people. I can’t even, anymore. I blame the writers of course.
PAULA tells MAL she’s been thinking of breaking up with Pepe. Mal sucks up to this monumental decision with a face of concern and empathy. (ha!) Paula wants Mal to help Pepe find happiness after she (Paula) is gone. (ha! ha!)
MAL is in camouflage as a new and better person, wearing normal clothes that are not spray painted on, and it seems to be working on all the residents there. Mal is acting very nice, generous, and putting on a very good act that has everyone fooled, except Viewerville.
RAFA, who clearly had some sort of oxygen deficiency when he was born, spills his guts to Lorenzo about how he always felt second best to Pepe, etc., yadda, lather, rinse, repeat…..whatevs. We’ve heard this song and dance before so I’ll spare you and me. Rafa says it was Nat who suggested the 7 million pesos price to pay for their lands. Lor is indignant, because it isn’t worth that much. And here we have exhibit ‘A’ on Rafa’s complete ignorance regarding business and why he is in no condition to “start his own business” with the money Lorenzo gave him. Their conversation wraps up, Lor leaves, and Rafa picks up the half-full glass of clear liquid that Lorenzo was drinking and studies it, which was a TOTALLY weird thing to do.
Lorenzo, who has a few more brain cells firing than Rafa, asks to see the documents. What… didn’t you sign anything? Rafa says nopis, it was a verbal agreement. Then Rafa goes on to list all the women who have disappointed him: Zaida, Mal, Nat. He is such a victim, but back to our story… Lorenzo can’t promise he’ll be able to get Rafa’s money back, but he does promise to do his best to toss Nat in jail. Good luck with that.
There is a cute scene with the littles in Paula’s bed, for their bedtime story. Yes, Teo got permission for a sleepover. Paula can’t read it because her vision is blurry, so Pepe takes over that duty. But Paula, who by a telenovela miracle, has become fluent in sign language over the past month or two while battling brain cancer symptoms and side effects from radiation treatments, translates the story for Teo.
RAFA comes to tell Isa that he is going into the city to have a DNA test made because he does not think He is really Lorenzo’s son. Isa has lied about so much and he wants to know if this is another one of her lies. Isa asks “why are you so cruel?” Rafa says that when he wanted to buy the land back for them, why did you deny me that chance? Isa replies that she didn’t want Nat to get another peso from any of us, blah blah blah. Rafa claims she said “no” so she could be free of the restaurant and have her romance with Lorenzo. Isabela should have grounded him for a month for smart-talking to his mom. Instead, she tells him that nothing will change the reality that Lorenzo is his dad. Next!
TU VIDA #69 Part 2/2
ReplyDeletePEPE learns that Emiliano and Lucía have broken up. He figures out quickly it was due to Emi’s drinking. Saint Pepe suggests the “new psychologist” in town (ZaiSo) might be able to help him. Emi agrees.
MALENA to Paula --- whodathunk we’d end up being besties? (right?) More convo about asking Mal to help convince Pepe that leaving Paula is for the best. And plz don’t let Pepe know you’re on #teamPaula. with this. Okaaaayyyyyy….
NATALIA assures Gracia that she not only wants to destroy Los Castillo and Los Lugo, but she wants the worst for her. And don’t dare ask me to call you “mama.” She asks why Gracia abandoned her. Gnat isn’t moved by the answer--- that she couldn’t take care of a baby and wanted a better life for her that she couldn’t give. More of the same old conversation….. Nat repeats that she only had one mother, Rosa, and Nat is going to take out everyone in her way to get the life she deserves. She stomps on the locket Gracia always wore that has the baby pic of Nat, and breaks it.
ZaiSo is settling into a house her grandmother lived in. We won’t ask who has lived there or looked after it for the last fifteen years and won’t ever have that question answered. It’s just another telenovela miracle. I’m just glad my spell check knows how to spell “telenovela.” Lorenzo hasn’t had a chance to tell Rafa that she’s out of jail and back in town because Rafa has bigger problems right now. ZaiSo is grateful for the money from the foundation to get her back on her feet. Lor says the donor was her own daughter, Andréa.
PAULA tells Pepe that infamous line we all hate to hear ---- “We need to talk”.
EMILIANO shows up to work and Rata greets him with a cold beer. She’s all over him with a duck on a June bug, and kissing him, which he puts to a stop. He asks if she’s recording this little scenario as another video to post online. Nope, her phone is over on a table. He doesn’t drink the beer and leaves. Juarever.
PaulEpe --- Idiot Paula tells Pepe that (gasp!) she wants them to separate. Her reasons are lame (trust me) but she is stubborn and all his rationale won’t change her mind.
At the restaurant, ZaiSo asks Rosa about Rafa’s daughter. Rosa points out Andrea, who turns and looks at them.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Doris. I love your asides.Whoever said you can't learn a language in a month or two? Look at Paula, who most probably will soon learn to climb buildings and will become an acrobat or a world famous circus artist because anything's possible...Depending on a telenovela you're in!
Finally someone other than the kids noticed Emiliano has a problem. Now let's do something to help him. As Paula is too busy being stupid and learning to become a Batwoman or something, Pepe is around to help as usual. I have to say nothing pisses me more than the famous 'you don't need to knoow the reasons.' Really? Do I punch you now or wait till the next episode? It was the same when they moved to this pueblo:let's move here because...we need to spend more time as a family and...We could do that in Mexico,you say? Let's not get too hung-up on logic or reason. It doesn't do anyone any good.
I covered my face when Rafa said hedidn't sign anything. How is it that these people have a business of their own at all? Alex and Lorenzo can't read properly and Rafa doesn't bother signing anything at all. What a family!
Paula apparently has some sense left to realize Pepe wouldn't want to get back with Malena because she talks about Malena helping Pepe but it doesn't seem she hopes those two to get back together.
How is it that everyone was supposed to just accept Rafa's relationship with Mal but his mother can't be with anyone else because...? Someone needs to point to Rafa all this because he is incapable of understanding/admitting this on his own. And I just want him to shut-up about Lorisa (does this pairing have a name?).
Funny how Nat's main complaint was that she was neither born nor adopted into a rich family and now she's mad Gracia did give her up expecting pretty much what Nat wanted. You can't win with Nat. I suppose she's mad she didn't get her way and her dreams wouldn't have come true no matter what would have happened.

How does Rafa function in the world. Making an oral agreement with Nat is basically gifting her your money. And he knew she had cheated his family out of their land. Andrea was smart to decide not to live with him. She would have ended up taking care of him. I wondered why he was staring at the glass, a DNA test. All three of his parents knew who is biological father was, but now he thinks they’re lying. And I hated the way he spoke to his mother.
Zaida can’t remember what Rafa was like. She must have created a dream man while in jail and made him look like Rafa.
It looks like Pepe will be the one to help Emi. I was glad he rejected Renata’s advances. Maybe this night of love will work out. Although Renata apparently knows about it now.
Paula is driving me crazy. Sending Pepe away, and apparently thinking Pepe will fall back in love with MAL. Does she expect MAL to help Pepe raise her kids! I hope she comes to her senses soon.

ReplyDeleteDoris, a marvelous recap, through and through. Thank you for your badly needed wry wit which really helped this "bad medicine" of a recap be somewhat palatable.

She obviously used up all of her little gray cells in this endeavor, hence her breaking up with Pepe leaving him in MAL's malicious care.
Rafa really is as dumb as a box of rocks. Yup, this is your son Lor - good luck!!
I'm looking forward to ZaiSo meeting Andrea. Finally, two intelligent women with common sense (I'm shaking my head at you Paula). I'm sure there will be anger and tears at first but expect having her mother reappear in her life will be a much needed boost to loveable Andrea.
So Gnat hates Gracia; the venom dripping from her mouth was fairly obvious.
I'm glad Emi will be getting help and hope he is able to battle his insidious disease.

DIANA - they won last night. I've missed watching a lot of games due to my recapping duties but when they team made the playoffs, the recap will just have to wait until the next day. #priorities ;-)

VIDA Ep. 70 Part 1
ReplyDeletePepe correctly guesses that Paula wants to break up to try to help him so he won't suffer. He cries that he will suffer much more if he is away from her. He continues to convince her to change her mind, but Paula is determined; so Pepe tells her that he will leave for the rest of the day so that she can think about it.
Zaida is admiring Andrea; and after she leaves, Gracia approaches and thinks the woman looks familiar. As she goes after Zaida, Andrea stops her and asks if she knows the woman because the woman kept looking at her. Zaida denies knowing the woman.
Rata thinks about overhearing Andi talk about the romantic night. She calls Rol for help.
Now nighttime, Andrea and Lucia sing at the party as Emi, Diego and Art look on.
Rosa takes Paula some tea and knows Paula misses Pepe. Rosa tries tells Paula that Pepe is good for her and is not in agreement with what Paula is doing. Paula pleads that Rosa support her.
Emi and Lucia talk calmly while Marcos sings a love song for Gracia. Alex approaches and tells the kids that he is going home to rest.
Rol goes to see Rata who is leaving to go be with her "baby love". He tells her it would be best if she stays away from the restaurant...to avoid something happening to her. He is going to ruin the party and the family will receive a small dose of his hate!
Marcos continues to sing as I wonder if that is really his voice...
Suzy goes into Paula's bedroom so Paula can read her a story. After Paula starts to read (with no vision problems), Suzy asks if she misses Pepe. Suzy misses Pepe too/
The party is going full force when some men show up; so Marcos goes to sit them at a table. Gracia wonders who they are since she had never seen them before.
Oh noes!! The men start bashing the place!! Emi, Diego, Art and some others try to fight them off.
Paula tells Lor that she is going to the restaurant to pick up the kids.
Pepe is talking to Alex about Paula wanting to end things when Gracia calls Alex and tells him about the brawl. Alex and Pepe whiz over there and start fighting the men, but one of the men hits Pepe over the head and he gets knocked out just as Paula is arriving! During the fighting, Lucia has spotted Rata smiling and walking off in satisfaction.
Rol pays off the lead thug and tells him that he and his men had better keep quiet in the event that they get caught.
Pepe wakes up but is very woozy. Gracia sees that the kitchen has been completely destroyed; and Lor arrives (how he got there so quickly is a telenoveladom miracle; tighten those beanies!).
Rata complains to Rol that he overdid it. Rol tells her that if she asks for his help, she needs to face the consequences...and she'd better be careful with whatever comes out of her mouth...no one can know that they are accomplices.
Apparently, Zaida/Sofia has talked to Suzy and tells Paula that Suzty feels very close to Puala but she also feels scared and responsible. When Paula shares that she tells Suzy that her love and hugs will help her heal, Zaida suggests that Paula change her way of talking to Suzy. If Paula doesn't survive, Susy will feel that Paula died because she (Suzy) didn't give her enough love. Paula then asks Zaida how she is; so Zaida shares that she saw her daughter for the first time.
VIDA Ep. 70 Part 2
ReplyDeleteAt school, Andi is sitting outside pulling the petals off of a daisy one by one--he loves me, he loves me not... After Diego approaches with some ice cream treats, she laments what happened at the restaurant--Emi and Lucia didn't reconcile and she didn't get to kiss Art. Diego doesn't want her to get her hopes up about Art, but Andi is in looove! When she sees Diego's reaction, she wonders if he is angry, but Diego is only concerned that Andi will get hurt.
ZaiSo continues to share how she saw Andi but she didn't dare approach her. She wishes she could have run to Andi and tell her that she was her mother and that she loved her. Paula advises that ZaiSo needs to wait because Andi finding out about her history will be a big blow; Sofia should plan how she will tell Andi very carefully. Sofia wants to learn everything about Andi first and then later talk to Andi...and if Andi won't accept her as her mother, then she will have to accept that .
Lucia confronts Rata and asks if she was responsible for the attack on the restaurant (Like Rata is gonna rat herself out...DUH!!)
Isa and Alex talk about the future of the restaurant. Isa thinks the insurance will pay for repairs, but ALex tells her that the insurance only covers damages due to a fire. Isa suggests getting a loan, but Alex argues that this is more complex than she thinks, this could be the end of their restaurant.
Diego talks to Art about Andi...and something else. Diego tells him that Andi is in love with him, but he needs to know something, Diego has been getting vibes from Art. When Art asks what kind of vibes, Diego takes Art's hands and asks, "This, what is this about?" After Diego asks if Art wanted to kiss him when they were in the treehouse, Art's friends approach and mock Art, so Art yells at Diego that he is NOT GAY! Diego runs off crying and bangs his hand on the wall. (OUCH!)
Lucia wastes her time trying to get to admit that she was responsible for the thugs destroying the restaurant. (Wasted breath, wasted air time).
MAL continues her stellar performance...now with Pepe. She tells him that Paula told her that they broke up. Paula asked her to be with Pepe after she is gone.
Rafa has been summoned by Lor. They are talking about Rafa getting the DNA test redone when Sofia comes rushing in. Rafa's eyes almost pop out!
Paula gets a call from Catalina who tells Paula that there is trouble at the company. Some of the investors are worried because of her illness and Gabt has convinced them that their shares will be worthless.
MAL tells Pepe that she has made so many mistakes...but she has changed. The only thing that hasn't changed is that she loves him. She asks, "Do you think that our love has been completely extinguished?"
And there it ends...until FRIDAY!!

ReplyDeleteRgv Chick, your masterful retelling elevated and clarified a confounding and utterly frustrating episode. You leave no detail unearthed and unexplained. A exercise in excellence.

Even Pepe sees through Paula's pathetic ruse. What happened to the strong, determined woman she was becoming? I can no longer abide Paula's waffling and pushing devoted, loving Pepe away. Have Paula's meds been replaced by stupidity pills? At this point, Pepe deserves so much better.
Of course Lor, Pepe, Alex and Rafa were nowhere to be found when the thugs sauntered in, menacing, scowling, sticking out like sore thumbs. Now, the uninsured restaurant is in grave peril. ☹
Poor Andi...

Rafa got the shock of his life. I hope Andi has the chance to meet Zaida without being totally shellshocked.
MAL is relentless isn't she? I do have faith in Pepe and that he has no interest in going back with her; he at least is steadfast in his devotion.

At least Pepe knows why Paula broke up with him. But I wish he could see through MAL too.
If I had written this episode I would have had Emi knocked unconscious with a head wound, instead of Pepe. Maybe Renata would feel a little bit guilty then. As it is she doesn’t seem to care that a decent family has lost their livelihood. She’s so shallow.
I think Zaida is going to open some eyes and maybe help people realize who’s hurting them.
I don’t know how Diego and Art will heal and become friends again. Arturo was cruel and I felt sorry for Diego.
Was the girl that called Paula, Catalina, someone new. Or was she the one that was working for Nat? Because Nat had convinced someone not to listen to Paula, that she, Nat was in charge.

ReplyDeleteI didn't really like how everyone was going on about how Paula needed Pepe because there was this feeling of 'poor you'. I mean, she wants to be stupid, that's her choice. Besides, it's not like Paula takes others' opinions into account. I sometimes think she imagines relationships are like her business, where she gets to decide what they are going to do and she is right.
Renata must also enjoy being screamed at because she let herself to be seen ina crime scene. Lucia obviously can't prove anything but you'd have to be pretty sick to go there just to gloat. It's not just about Lucia after all. I hope Ren gets to experience first hand what happens when you join forces with someone like Rolando. It's disturbing how no kind of punishment is likely to make her think. 'You overdid it a bit' is such an understatement.
Why did they knock Pepe out? What was the point? I think we had enough scenes with Pepe and Paula where one of them is injured. I notice that when don't feel strongly about a pairing, I get easily bored by stuff like this.

Liz - Catalina is one of Nat's minions at the corporation. She has worked there for years.
The whole restaurant thing is confusing. I thought Natalia now owns the land and the restaurant. It would be up to her to decide on what gets repaired, or not. My telenovela beanie hat needs another layer of aluminum foil . . .
It would be nice if Rata has some consequences for her actions last night.
Looks like Diego has taken up Rafa's knit cap style of head wear. He wore them in two different colors last night. ;-p

Diana, "Have Paula's meds been replaced by stupidity pills? " Yes! Yes! YES!! I believe so! I think they pass that bottle around. LOL
Liz, "I think Zaida is going to open some eyes and maybe help people realize who’s hurting them." I sure hope so! Some of these people are wearing bandages on their eyes, especially when it comes to MAL. Do they really think someone can change so quickly?

There is a strong likelihood now that Renata and Malena will suffer similar fates. Both went to Rolando for nefarious purposes and both got more than they bargained for. In this case since the restaurant was not insured against vandalism the Castillos should sue Rolando -- if he's still alive -- and this little bitch for damages and her parents should refuse to pay and make her pay it even if she has to scrub toilets in an office building at midnight.
Those vandals looked like textbook examples so how is it that nobody had bad vibes at the sight of them?
Malena's situation will be worse because it led to a murder.
Andrea is still going to get her heart broken. Arturo is in the closet and that is drawing out this storyline.
I think that Gnat was looking to sell the property because it's worth more than the restaurant. If I'm wrong then she will go on the warpath against Rolando, which will happen anyway under TN Law.
