FUGITIVAS #19 Part 1
ReplyDeleteNicolas is still being chastised by Ismael for his handling of the Fugitivas case.
Florencia decides to perform her due diligence in checking Lisset’s “references”. She first calls Erick and of course, his summary is glowing! Lorena, sitting right there with him, beams her approval. Next, Flor calls Lorena, who coughs into the phone, telling her (whoever she is supposed to be) is ill but also raves about Lisset. Flor has heard enough and hangs up as Erick and Lorena excitedly celebrate. Florencia comes in and gives the good news to Lisset; Charo is NOT jubilant. 😊
Patricio offers Amanda coffee as Ismael enters the office. Patricio tells him about the Estefania interview. Marta listens outside and then comes in. She isn’t happy at whatever was said.
Someone is in the kitchen with Charo and she isn’t liking it! She tells Lisset they aren’t friends as Lisset loads up the breakfast tray to serve Arturo and Florencia. Arturo meets her and (remarkably) doesn’t bite her head off. Vincente comes to the table and Arturo’s hair stands on end as usual, yelling at him.
The entire staff has gathered in Nicolas’ office. Nicolas offers an apology although somewhat half-heartedly. Everyone files out, Marta last. She talks with Patricio and Ismael about Estefania…Do they want to offer her protection? Enlist her help? Marta and Patricio have another conversation about Estefania later, Marta getting very upset. If anyone can interpret the upshot, kindly share.
Lorena checks on Frida who claims to feel better. Lorena tells her to rest and that she cares about her. The two friends hug murmuring “te quiero mucho”. Lorena admits her love with Ismael is impossible. Frida admits she and Dario kissed as Lorena smiles…But there is the fly in the ointment, Carmen, Frida admits.
Nicolas calls Vero much to her delight.
Charo comes in to complain to Florencia, but she is in a funk. Florencia seems to realize Ismael is delving into Juan Pablo’s death. I believe she tells Charo she wants to tell him the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth (whatever that is).
Lisset pulls back the covers on a bed and Vincente is still in it! She apologizes and he eventually laughs. He goes back to sleep and she takes her mop and bucket and leaves.

FUGITIVAS #19 Part 2
ReplyDeleteBrenda runs into Alejandro outside; they are cordial and smile at each other. To be honest, he looks smitten. He takes off as she stands there smiling.
Nicolas and Vero have cokes and conversation. He tells her what is going on but what can he do? Ismael is his superior. Vero wants to put in a word to Florencia. Nic seems happy at this and kisses her hand.
Ismael is on the phone with someone; something about mucho dinero.
Vero goes to Florencia right away about Ismael and the Fugitivas! Florencia looks shaken AND stirred.
Cranky Arturo calls Vincente who blows him off, going back to sleep.
Lisset goes into Charo’s room. She sees a phone and just as she is going to pick it up, Charo catches her. She lies, saying she was just going to use the restroom. The phone rings and it’s Arturo. She swats Lisset out of the room and then locks her door behind her as she leaves. Charo goes into Vincente’s room handing him the phone. Arturo starts yelling, Vincente pleads he has a headache. Charo urges him to make nice but Vincente tells his agitated father he will see him in the morning.
Dario comes in to check on Frida (still sitting on the bed with Lorena). Lorena makes a hasty retreat giving Frida a knowing look behind Dario’s back. He sits on the bed quite close to her and he leans forward toward her but then pulls back right before he kisses her. She smiles after he leaves
Brenda and Patricio discuss idiot Nicolas and Estefania, but I was lost as to what was said.
Ismael pays an unexpected visit to Alejandro. He asks if he has seen Lorena. He says if he does see her, to warn her that she needs to be careful as she is in danger! Alejandro looks concerned.

FUGITIVAS #19 Part 3 of 3
ReplyDeleteArturo bothers Florencia about her brother. AGAIN. Basta, this is getting tiresome. She complains about Ismael working on the Fugitivas case and especially Lorena Martinez. He later summons Gabriela, trying to enlist her help.
Brenda and Alejandro are on again. She arrives with a bag but the food is set aside as they kiss. She wraps her legs around him as he carries her into the bedroom. We later see afterglow…
Florencia and Ismael are at a restaurant…
Lisset is fiddling with the vacuum (which she’s likely had little experience with). Luckily, Vincente comes in and fixes it. There is a knock on the door, it’s Gabriela! Lisset quickly hides out of sight as they talk. Gabriela tells him his father is worried about him. Vicente is rude and cold to her especially when Lorena is mentioned. I say dump him on the spot!
After Florencia and Ismael part outside the restaurant, Nicolas comes slithering up to Flor. She puts her finger on his lip tantalizingly and then pulls away and gets in her car.
Then, the one really pivotal event of the episode occurs. Lorena and Lisset are on the phone. Lorena flashes back to the day she went to deliver papers to Juan Pablo to sign. She recalls him opening the door (barely dressed). Her eyes alight on a dress crumpled on the floor behind him. It’s a black and white striped dress. All of a sudden, the recognition comes flooding back…it was the exact same dress Florencia gave to Gabriela to wear after the wine mishap! Lorena tersely tells Lisset that it’s Florencia. Florencia was the amante of Juan Pablo!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasant way to start my day! I didn't watch this until this morning accompanied by Diana's very entertaining recap. Thank you, Diana.
I finally figured it out: Patricio is the commander of the police department and Ismael is the head of the prosecutor's office.
Ismael throws Nicolás off the fugitives' case and demands that he apologize to his team and Marta which he reluctantly does. Ismael himself takes over the case. Marta quits worried that if she stays Estefanía could find her. She tells an interesting story about how she got beat up in the showers by Estefanía and crew when she refused to cook the way the inmates wanted her to. Verónica tries to pressure Florencia to get Ismael to get Nico back on the case. Florencia gives up easily even though Ismael being back on the "Lorena" case bothers her, too.
Florencia tells Charo that she found JP's address in Ismael's papers and is worried she will be tracked down. The doorman told her that Ismael had been at the suite. Charo thinks she has nothing to worry about because she didn't leave behind any evidence of being there.
Arturo is having a hard time with evidently "good for nothing" Vicente not going to work (again. Evidently he has a pattern of doing nothing which changed briefly when he was with with Gabriela) ) and just lying hung over in bed. Arturo sends Gabriela to talk some sense to Vicente. Instead, Vicente makes it clear he is breaking up with her. He cannot be with a LIAR. She can keep her job because he doesn't plan on being at the company.
Ismael calls the rental agent for the building where JP had his "suite" because he wants to rent one. He finds out the rent is $40,000.00 a month. (about $2,033.00 dollars a month) The bigger problem is that they have no vacancies but only a waiting list. Ismael concludes that JP would never pay that amount to meet up with a woman. Only a woman with money to spare and obsessed with JP would pay that amount.
All I can say is that Frida looks ill or pregnant. She blames it on low blood pressure which seems to be a common illness in these novelas.
So,Viicente is another young guy who expects to be supported by everyone but himself. YAWN! Diana, ITA with : "I say dump him on the spot."
Looks like Florencia is always hot to trot.
I loved the last scene. Nope, Florencia didn't leave any evidence behind but she never counted on Lorena having that good of a memory. Ha! So there!

I hope good guy is introduced for Gabriela because Invented has been up and down in the nonio rating carts...spoiled rich kid...then a caring friend. ...now a bed bug. I thought he was outing the moves on Lisset.

I especially appreciate your noting "who's who"; so Nicolas must be in the prosecutor's office...he is just loathsome.
I thought Marta had quit but wasn't sure. So, she is (rightfully) afraid Estefania will track her down. I don't blame her.

Juana # 13. Part 1.
ReplyDeleteJuana and David are talking. She only came for a letter of recommendation. He’s ready to hire her. Says he is probably a better friend than boss.
Felipe and ponytail girl are still kissing when Carlos opens the elevator door. He’s annoyed as when they dated she didn’t let him hold hands in public. Felipe had asked where Dani’s office was so Carlos tells ponytail that the guy is Dani’s boyfriend.
TV girl is visiting Josephina and Jenny. She tells them she and Felipe are just friends.
Felipe finds Dani. He question Dani about who the girl might be. David and Juana join them.
Paula is with her mother. She’s very upset about the baby, she doesn’t want it in her life. She says what if he wants to be with this unknown woman, or brings her to live at the house. Her mother asks if Gabriel has come to their bedroom yet.
Gabriel is ready to open the envelope when Camila comes in. She’s afraid they think she’s the guilty one. He says he is more a suspect than she. She tells him she wants to work there so he’ll protect her, he wants to help her. Men are fools! Anyway that’s why he’s giving her a job.
Back to our foursome. They talk about Juana working at the brewery. Felipe thinks her mom will be upset but she says it’s her decision. They leave and Dani and David are left sitting together.
Rogelio’s son comes into his office He looks worried.
Camila is happy to be hired and gives Gabriel a hug he leaves and she imagines being the president some day, or his wife. Then she opens a folder and ends up spilling a drink on the folder with the picture. She crumbles up the folder and picture and puts it behind a cabinet.
David goes in the office of the interviewer. She will interviewJuana but has someone else too. when he leaves she imagines the elevator kiss.
Juana and Felipe arrive home. She comments he’s been smiling all day. Jenny is off to try for her job.
Camila is at the meeting and Gabriel tells the staff she has joined them.
Jenny easily gets the job, she was definitely in charge!
Gabriel notices the missing folder. The secretary will look for it.
Juana gets a call from David. She has an interview scheduled.
Rogelio’s son comes home. His mom is very worried about Paula. Meanwhile Rogelio wants more than a simple thank you from Camila. She is not pleased but goes along. She is crying when he leaves the bed to go home.
Paula wonders if Gabriel would have told her about the pregnancy if she had hadn’t seen the PI. He says he knows she doesn’t want a baby and walks off.
Jenny arrives home and tells the family she has a job and Juana won’t have to work.
David has a roommate, Ricardo. He called him brother but not sure if it’s literally his brother. I think it’s the guy that was with him and Gabriel. He tells him having Juana working for him is good and will motivate him.

ReplyDeleteThanks Susan! Loved "bed bug". Vincente is just that - what a disappointment. I do fear they will end up together; a shame.
I have to say that last night, I really liked Amanda and Alejandro together. She is pretty when she isn't scowling and they have definite chemistry. Ismael behaved very badly and I personally couldn't get over the fact he threw Lorena to the wolves. That said, I think he is redeemable. It would be an interesting twist if they ended up together but I don't think that will happen.

ReplyDeleteJuana is there for her interview. Gabriel is pleased to see her. Then Elvira enters accusing the staff of killing her son. She’s sure he’s dead. She tells Gabriel Paula married Francisco for his money and social status. She warns him about Camila. She’s upset about Camila having the shares. Gabriel tells her Francisco was his brother and she’s been like a mother to him. He loves her. She says Francisco was divorcing Camila. Why would he give her the shares.
Rogelio’s son is upset about Elvira. He asks Rogelio if he did something to Francisco.
Juana has her interview. Ponytail girl is impressed with her. But she has another person to consider.
Felipe is daydreaming about Ponytail girl. He talks to his boss, who tells him to get back to work.
The interviewer asks about the night Juana spent there and Juana explains.
Camila is telling Carlos that her mother-in-law always hated her. He doesn’t like her working there, he seems to realize she’s got a thing for Gabriel.
Gabriel walks in on the interview. He’s surprised to see her. When she leaves Ponytail girl wants someone with more experience. He wants Juana.
Dani is telling David she’s not sure it’s the best for Juana to work there.
Gabriel is explaining that it’s hard on a mother not knowing where her son is. Camila says Elvira was the reason Francisco divorced her. It was her mother’s idea.
David talks to Gabriel. They both want Juana for the job. They both think the other wants to be close to her. Gabriel says she has an energy about her. David goes to the interviewer and says he wants Juana.
The phone rings at Juana’s. She had Felipe answer it. She wanted him to act professional. He didn’t. Juana gets on, is offered the job and accepts.

ReplyDeleteDiana and Jarifa, thanks to both of you. Why Patricio with his 40 years experience is lower in rank than Nicolas I guess means one is like an NCO and the other an officer in the military. One thing I noted was Nicholas tried to spin to Veronica his reason for being fired from the head detective position on the case was jealousy by others in the department (Ismael?) because he was doing such a good job.
So Florencia tried to advise her dad to kick Vicente to the curb, cut off his credit cards etc. I'm with her on that. He broke up with Gabriela and also said he was moving out of the apartment, I believe.

Anyone else feel sorry for Camila. Except for lusting after her best friend's husband she hasn't totally earned my hate yet. Rogelio is a total manipulator. She does need a job as JP was in financial trouble which is why he was going to sell his shares. Her suegra hated her, but is that a justifiable hate? Time will tell.
I wonder if Rog's son ends up being a fly in the ointment of his father's plans. I'm hoping he turns out to be a good guy. I wouldn't mind a lighthearted show with only one truly evil character (well, plus his chauffeur/bodyguard who hid the body).
Speaking of the body, did anyone understand what the forensics decided about the blood on the bridge? I almost thought they said it was animal blood. I'm not even sure which episode that was in.
I really dislike Paulina. I know some people that never wanted children, but this was something decided on before marriage so both are on the same page. Gabriel seems to have always wanted children though.
Watching Juana and Fugitivas back to back is confusing....I'm getting my shows mixed up, in fact my Fugitivas comment contained some of Juana scenes until I realized my mistake. Both being on the same recap page adds to my confusion.
And see, I meant Francisco, not JP....both shows have an unsolved murder/disappearance right off the bat! I so wish blogger allowed us to edit our comments.

I believe that Patricio is the "top cop" (so to speak)...Jarifa explained that Nic reports to Ismael so they are part of the prosecutor's office, not the police department.The two departments usually work together and I thought Nicolas' tirade was completely inappropriate (for several reasons).

ReplyDeleteI, too, am getting the plots and characters mixed up as i watch 3 novelas.."Juana," " Fugitivas," and " Conde." It is especially confusing when characters in those three shows have the same name .
I do not like or feel any sympathy for Camila . She and Paula are both shallow and materialistic , and she is set on getting her bff's husband and wealthy lifestyle . I can't wait for Paula to find that wedding photo that Camila out herself in. She and smarmy Rog are going to make an evil duo.
I feel sorry for that poor boy that Paula only wanted to use as part of her attempt to keep her rich hubby. Paula is Cruel , selfsh, and not very clever. FYI, the actress playing Paula's mother has been in many novelas and seems to play the evil femme fatale.
If I were Juana , I would choose David over Gabe. I guess David will end up with Dani. We will appreciate his sweetness. Susan

Yes, the detective said animal blood. That surprised me, because we know it was human blood.
I just finished Golpe de Suerte. I enjoyed it. The last show was an hour of happy things. I thought Juana would be light too.
Susan, I’ve been recording Fugitives and hope to start watching it and maybe catch up. I’ve always been impressed with recappers but my respect has grown as I’m attempting this. Hoping it gets easier as I go along!
Tonight’s recap will probably be posted Saturday night as I have company coming this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon.

ReplyDelete“Florencia is the amante of Juan Pablo” Lorena says to Lisset who is startled at this unexpected twist. Frida comes in and Lorena tells her the same shocking news.
Lisset and Charo are getting along like water and oil. 😊 After another little disagreement, Lisset makes a face as she leaves the kitchen.
Frida doesn’t want Lorena to go to the police…Erick comes in and Lorena tells him! Man, this is faster than a telephone party line.
Amanda and Alejandro have finished dinner and she decides to leave as he bids the detective goodbye.
Florencia, unaware her entire world is going to come crashing down, complains to daddy things are “mal”. Arturo brings up Lorena again.
Ismael leaves his office as Nicolas comes out watching him leave.
Erick turns up at Alejandro’s door; Ale starts to shut the door but Erick says Lorena is innocent and asks he accompany him. Alejandro reluctantly goes with him.
Charo is on a ladder checking the top of a picture 10 feet off the ground. She yells for Lisset and holds out her finger with the offending dirt; threatening to tell Florencia. Lisset gets up on the ladder and cleans the offending picture. Clean and be quiet Charo commands.

FUGITIVAS #20 Part 2
ReplyDeleteUh oh…Nicolas sneaks into Ismael’s office and is rooting through papers on his desk. Ismael’s file drawer is locked but Nic empties the pencil holder and lo and behold there is the key! He opens Lorena’s file and takes pictures of the contents. He puts it back and leaves just as Ismael’s secretary comes back. She doesn’t think anything is amiss.
Patricio texts Marta that he’s at her house and would like to speak with her. She comes out and asks how he is but is not overly warm. He asks her out but she doesn’t want to be involved with the police. She thanks him and quickly leaves. He looks a bit upset.
Erick has led Alejandro to the bar where Lorena waits for him. They talk about JP and Lorena reaches out and grabs his arm. I know who the amante of PB is – Florencia Marquez! He looks shocked. They talk further and she tells him that Florencia has money. It seems Alejandro is on board, provided certain conditions are met. They shake on it.
Lisset leaves the fortress for the day.
Ismael watches from his car as a woman alights from a car. I could not make out where he was or who the woman was; is it anyone we know?
Lorena and Erick tell Frida Alejandro is with them. Lisset comes in…She tells them about Vincente and Gabriela; Lorena is obviously upset.
Gabriela comes back to her apartment and picks up one of Vincente’s smelly old shirts. Burn it I urge her.
Lorena calls Ismael. Ismael tells Lorena that everything he told her is true; the woman Juan Pablo was involved with is very well off. Lorena then blurts out that Florencia was Juan Pablo's mistress; your mujer is the amante of Juan Pablo. At that precise moment, Florencia walks in and Ismael hangs up staring incredulously at her.

ReplyDeleteMontse is by herself in the bar when Sergio comes in wanting to see Perla, his mujer. The others hear them arguing and come running. Sergio is determined to see Carmen but just then Dario, Carmen and Matias come in. Frida quickly grabs Sergio’s arm introducing him as her friend. She spirits him away as he and Carmen exchange poisonous looks, chomping at the bit to get into it. Sergio is livid as Frida tries to calm him down. He will tell all if she doesn’t pay him off. Carmen is angry and unappreciative of what was done for her.
Florencia sits down on the couch but Ismael tells her he has to leave. She wonders what is so important he needs to leave but it’s just as well as Ismael is still looking at her like she has two heads!
Isamael calls Lorena still trying to process everything. After he hangs up, he runs his hand through his hair.
Frida confronts Carmen who finally seems concerned about what might happen if Dario finds out.
Marta looks through more help wanted ads.
Uh oh. Vincente rings Gabriela’s doorbell. He is as heartless and stubborn as always, even though Gabriela is almost in tears. He goes to his room and packs his things sputtering about Lorena as she cries going after him.
Brenda calls Alejandro (right outside his building) but he says he’s busy. She sits in the car and watches him ride off on his cycle, following him.

ReplyDeleteArturo is in a business meeting when Nicolas arrives, interrupting them. Arturo is livid but then Nicolas shares his phone shots of the contents of Lorena’s file as Charo listens. I believe he says that Lorena and Juan Pablo were amantes but I’m not sure.
Alejandro take a path Brenda can’t follow in her car so she loses him. She hits the steering wheel in frustration.
Gabriela’s doorbell rings and it’s Alejandro. She introduces him as her sister’s lawyer and Vincente stalks out. Alejandro sits down and puts his hand on her shoulder, trying to be kind. He sticks up for Lorena as he feels for Gabriela as she is obviously very distraught.
This is interesting. Vero meets Ismael at a restaurant. She initially wants to talk about Nicolas but the conversation turns to Juan Pablo. She admits that Juan Pablo cheated on her. I could not make out what she said but whatever it was, he flashes back to a scene when Florencia left the house, somehow confirming what Lorena told him, that the other woman was Florencia!

I want to go out on a limb and point my finger at Nicholas as the assassin....he is so repulsive, enamored of Florencia, with whom JP was having an affair, so he decided to kill the competition.
Are we allowed to speculate, or is that frowned on?

ReplyDeleteDiana, while it is fresh on my mind, Ismael redirects the conversation about him firing Nicolas to asking her advice on a gift for Florencia. She then says that he must be cheating on her, that's why he is buying a gift. She is an expert on being the recipient of guilt gifts because of JP. He worked nights but would come home and immediately shower. Every Sunday he supposedly met with a lawyer about work. That is when Ismael recalled Florencia going out on Sundays to play tennis (I think) as he wished her good luck she says she always wins.
Nic did say that Ish and Lorena are lovers. I also got the impression the 2 are in cahoots about JP's death but I may be reading too much into it.
Vicente claims he is going back to Buenos Aires. That I think is where his mother lives and he moved there after his parents divorced possibly, or I'm confusing TN stories again.

Kat, my thought is that speculation is fine as long as it's labeled as such. The rule is no spoilers or anything that one knows for a fact will occur. Nicolas is a bad seed for every reason you pointed out.

I think that Flor killed JP. Nic is a smarmy weasel , and perhaps he is in cahoots with her.
I don't understand why Frida didn't let Carmen's hubby out her. Why is Friday protecting Carmen? Susan

ReplyDeleteSusan, yes it is cool that Eric is on the good team. He probably thought he had lots of time to get Lisette's money back to her as she was in jail. He probably has a bit of a gambling problem.

ReplyDeleteSusan, so now we have one vote for Nic and one vote for Flor as JP's murderer.
I'm not going to hazard a guess yet, I'm still undecided. I do think though that Flor and Nic weren't in on anything together as far as JP's murder went. Nic's coming onto Florencia seemed to take her by surprise and it was well after the murder...I'm not sure what Nic would have to gain by JP's murder but OTOH, Florencia had everything to lose.
I am sort of getting a kick out of Erick. He's a character. Sometimes he stumbles and bumbles and other times, he seems to know exactly what he is doing.

Juana. # 14. Part 1
ReplyDeleteFelipe asks about the person who interviewed her. She names Enriqueta and starts describing her but Josefina comes in and wonders why they’re smiling. Juana tells her she has a job at the brewery and Josefina is very excited for her.
Jenny is at work and her boss is eyeing her. Fabio warns her about him. He likes to break hearts. And it’s Ricardo, David’s roomie. Gabriel and Camila come home to a waiting Paula. Gabriel is going for a swim as his day was hard. Paula is upset, Camila seems curious.
Rogelio and son are home. Son brings up the disappearance of Francisco and Rogelio tells him it was ridiculous of son to suspect him. The son apologizes. Mom calls to them from the stairs that she wants dinner with the family. Rogelio can’t stay.
Paula tells Camila about the unknown pregnant girl. Camila thinks it’s like a movie.
Felipe is no fool. He’s looking up Enriqueta on social media, thinking of the kiss. Enriqueta arrives home and has the same thoughts.
Juana’s the morning of Juana’s first day of work. Josefina thinks Jenny is going to be so proud. Juana isn’t that sure. Jenny liked her previous day at work. Juana tells her what her job is, Felipe says what a great opportunity. Then Josefina drops the bombshell. She’s working at Rubio’s. The brewery. Jenny is not happy
Camila asks the maid for “our breakfast”. The maid questions the “our”. The chauffeur already left with Gabriel but Camila can take a taxi. I loved that, the maid does not like Camila.
David tells the girls he works for that Juana Bravo will be working with them.
Jenny is arguing with Juana. She doesn’t think the job is a good idea. She points out Juana is in love with the president. Juana says they need the money.
The neighborhood women are singing at the statue. When Juana comes out they all want to touch her. She runs home to tell the family.
David greets Gabriel to tell him he hired Juana. Gabriel is pleased. David asks if he’d like to welcome her but Gabriel says he should welcome her as he’s her boss. Gabriel’s secretary gives him a folder. He’s at his desk staring at the sofa, picturing Juana asleep and him covering her. He notices the balled up paper behind the furniture. He calls for Inez as he unfolds the crumpled mess. Inez doesn’t know about it, she suggests the cleaning people. He calls the PI to tell him. The PI says they have a video of the girl and her mother.
The ladies of the neighborhood are telling the men they want an altar to the Virgin Juana. Meanwhile Felipe helps Juana sneak out of her house. Dani is telling her mom how Juana got pregnant. Since mom started the rumor she needs to stop it. Meanwhile they ladies tell a photographer about the miracle pregnancy.
Paula arrives at work and asks for Gabriel. Inez tells her he’s busy. She gives Paula a folder of important clients. She tells Inez she needs more time with Gabriel. And hands Inez some flowers from her desk to get rid of.
Carlos brings Enriqueta some folders. He’s still annoyed with her
The detective arrives and tells the people to leave. They seem to be in front of the Bravo house. He tells the people to pray at their own house or place of worship.
