TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): Dinastía Casillas, Bahar: Esencia de Mujer, y más: Week of October 6, 2025

Welcome to Page 1 (Monday edition) of the Telemundo y Más page, issued twice a week: Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM.

Here are the current telenovelas (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):

9 - 10PM - Dinastía Casillas** (Starts Tuesday)
10 - 11PM - Bajar: Esencia de Mujer**

**On Monday, there will be no evening telenovela on Telemundo. Top Chef has a 3-hour finale. Bahar returns on Tuesday at 10 PM, along with a new novela, Dinastía Casillas, in the 9 PM time slot. I found the following very short description: "Dinastía Casillas is an upcoming American television series created by Juan Camilo Ferrand. The series is a follow-up and spinoff to El Señor de los Cielos, which originally ran from 2013 to 2024. It stars Iván Arana, Isabella Castillo and María Fernanda Yepes." Another short description, translated into English, said the following: "Victims of a trap and stunned by their past, Ismael and Diana make a dangerous decision. A legitimate wife demands what belongs to her. El Gancho does whatever it takes to seize power." More information, including a trailer, can be found on Telemundo's website. Recappers are welcome.

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Some surprises. If I understand it, Timur’s actual mother is Aunt Leyla. Is she Aziz’s sister or Nevra’s? Do we know the father? Nevra is afraid if it becomes known, no one will care for her as she has no children.

Efsun reads Seren’s diary that speaks of her happiness in Bahar's home. She goes nuts at a family dinner and may have triggered Seren going into labor.

Efsun would be my vote for worst character ever!

Dondi – you did us a massive service by telling us all we’d missed. I’m sure it was a lot of work for you, but believe me, it’s hugely appreciated. I could see leaving small things out, but to leave out that people were trying to get Bahar fired is huge. That part was not apparent from the butchered episode.

Did I understand that the Turkish version is shown once a week in a 2-hour episode? If so, that could be easily distributed by using half of each episode to show us.

I’m wondering why they decided to air this show if they knew they were going to cut it so severely that it would leave viewers confused as to what the heck is going on. Why even start it if we can’t finish it? Why get us invested in the characters and then leave us wondering how it all came out? Use some other show that fits in the broadcast times.

Well I think I could understand the gist tonight even though it was obviously hacked into pieces. It’s like they fed us some snacks instead of serving us a full meal, leaving us still hungry but not starving. I would like to know why Rengin cut her hair. I liked her long hair much better. But she’s a beautiful woman and looks good no matter what.

It was sad when Timur found out who his actual mother is, and wonders what might have been if she’d raised him. Timur has been a nice relief from the usual telenovela bad guy. He’s such a sad sack you can’t help but feel for him even as he screws everything up.

Wow, Efsun really burst into full crazy in-law flames. What a scene she threw!

I didn't watch the show last night because I watched the 2 hour Turkish version and I knew you all would keep me posted. I'm pretty sure Leyla was Timur's dad's sister. In one of the episodes Leyla mentioned growing up in the house, I think. Or else the fact that she spent so much time there helping raise Timur when he was young made her feel comfortable in the home. I guess Evrin's sister's death while carrying a child of Timur's "dad" really hit him hard. No wonder he felt no allegiance to Nevra and Timur when he left Bahar the house. Timur would still have the house as long as he kept Bahar.

I actually liked Rengin's new hair do. It looked good on her.

Parla and Umay really are acting more like siblings throwing each other dirty looks and sticking their tongue out at each other (or was that a cut scene or the next episode. Not positive they actually stuck a tongue out but the disdainful sneers were definitely there).

I agree about Timur. He isn't such a bad guy. He has his moments when he gets vengeful but it's offset by his relatable angst at the problems he's created by his own actions.

Nevra shouldn't worry about being cut out of the family. Bahar has raised caring children and they regard her as their grandmother.

I have some cuts ready from Turkish #34. Some background on Leyla. Some Cagla and Tolga stuff. And an interesting meeting between Tolga and Leyla. Seren and her narcissist mom.

Yes, Maggie, in diziland we get 2 hour + episodes once a week.

I see Kat is moving ahead with the Turkish eps. I'm behind on recapping the cuts. I'll try to skip ahead to where we are in our Telemundo eps.

And finally, there was a promo for "Lejos de Ti", another dizi that's currently running in Türkiye as Uzak Şehir, Distant City. It's a dizi based in Mardin (Southeast Türkiye). Those of us who watched Hercai will know what to expect from that setting. I've seen the first 3 episodes of this. It has very high ratings in Türkiye.

  7. bahar cuts Turkish #34 part 1

I can’t always remember where I saw what. Apologies if we saw some of this. I’d rather err on the side of caution.

Still under the effects of anesthesia, Gulcicek calls Reha “very handsome” and tells him to “come here”.

Tolga gives Cagla a ride home. She invites him in for coffee but he says he should go. He says they should both get some rest. She apologizes for what she did to get into the hospital. She knows it was crazy but she was scared. He agrees but adds he was very impressed. She says she doesn’t want him to put a negative mark next to her name on his list.

My list, Tolga asks, you keep a positive-negative list? Yes, Cagla replies, doesn’t everyone? They laugh and make more jokes about a list. He calls her an interesting woman. Since they couldn’t have dinner tonight, he suggests dinner tomorrow.

Parla brings Timur a box that contains drawings, projects, report cards, and photos. Everything that he’s missed. You missed half my life, she says, I found you, don’t think of leaving. Don’t even tell me you’re dying. Then don’t even come to my funeral. Timur says, Allah, did you hear that serious threat?

Evren tells Bahar he felt he had no choice but to have Cem distract the girls. She understands but she asks him to understand. It’s nothing against Cem, she says, he’s not a bad kid. But this is a dangerous age. I don’t want my daughter to make the same mistake I made. She shouldn’t think of falling in love without knowing herself first.

Nevra shows up at the hospital and scolds Bahar for not letting her know about the quarantine, etc. She intends to stay with Gul overnight. Then she claims to have palpitations and asks Evren to check her out.

Bahar goes out on the hospital Terrace. Her voiceover: Ah, thank goodness. What a blessing to be with my loved ones today. In a game where we don’t know if we will make it from one second to the next… how do we get so lost, my God.

Evren joins her. He picks up a feather and gives it to her. She says, one of us might not have made it today. I’m grateful and trying to make use of it. Do you know what I though of in quarantine? I don’t have a list of what I want to do. [guess it’s a bucket list.] I couldn’t. After graduating I took on a lot of responsibilities. I just wanted the children to be happy. The craziest thing I did was marry Timur. And painting a wall with you. They laugh.

Evren says, life is a single day and that day is today. That’s my motto. It will be mine too from now on, Bahar replies. No postponements. Yes to living! Later, they start to make up a to-do list. I think the first item was the opera. Bahar suggests dance lessons. Evren says lets dance right now… here on the street. There are street musicians playing and singing. Bahar dances and sings along, and Evren records it.

If the Leyla actress seems familiar to some of you, it’s because she played Meryem in Fatmagül!

I don’t remember if this appeared in our version but it’s worth repeating. Surgery on guy from the parking garage was important because that’s the first operation that Evren performed since his hand recovered.

  8. bahar cuts Turkish #34 part 2

During the surgery, Bahar talks about Leyla Hala. Timur’s aunt, she took care of him for a long time after he was born. I love her very much and she loves me. She supported me during my younger days. Evren asks if she knows about the current situation.

Bahar says Leyla knows about the divorce but doesn’t know everything. She lives in LA, lost everything in a disaster. They weren’t able to go to her, a big shame. She doesn’t get along with Nevra.

Evren comes to Tolga’s office. He’s been thinking about their last convo. Did I choose Bahar because she has a family? Even if Bahar was single, he says, even if she didn’t have children, if we met that way, I would still love her very much. We might have been happier.

Evren asks for Tolga’s opinion. Tolga is a bit frustrated—it’s a problem if is say something and if I don’t. Everyone here has lost their balance. Evren wonders who Tolga might be referring to. Tolga asks Evren if he wants to start therapy because he’s so tense. Evren really gets tense and gets up and leaves. Ha, ha, on his way out he says, Cagla is like a sister to me. Don’t upset her or you’ll have to deal with me.

At the police station, Bahar has a flashback to when Uras was an infant. She couldn’t get him to stop crying. Leyla takes him from Bahar and he instantly calms down. Bahar is upset she couldn’t comfort her son. Leyla says, it’s because you are tired. Anyone can give birth but not everyone can be a mother. You have motherhood in your fabric. It’s hard sometimes, this is normal. I’ll stay the week, Timur has exams, and you can rest.

Efsun prepares the babies’ nursery with Zeynep’s help. Pink things and blue things. Zeynep asks, do we know the genders? Shh… Efsun replies, don’t let it slip. I secretly learned from the doctor’s assistant. Gather the accessories and lock the door. Zeynep gets a call and has to go. She leaves another employee to put things away.

Bahar and Timur wait outside Tolga’s door while he speaks with Leyla. Timur says this is like a roller coaster and we can’t get off. He sites Chekhov’s Gun principle: if a gun is shown, it will fire! The Grim Reaper appeared. It didn’t get us but it ricocheted to someone unrelated and we got the bill!

Leyla tells Tolga about the fires in LA. She will never forget. Tolga says she experienced a great loss. He’s going to prescribe a mild sedative. It will take time to get through this. It’s normal to have mood swings, forgetfulness. I miss being normal, Leyla cries, I go to bed every night praying to return to normal. But every morning is another nightmare.

Tolga reassures her they will do everything to get her back to normal. Think of this like a puzzle. She likes that. He says, tell me the pieces you remember. It doesn’t matter if they are connected. She makes Tolga sit back in his chair. She remembers being on top of a man. Then she sees Bahar coming, with man dressed as a courier or like a biker. Tolga thinks that’s Evren.

  9. bahar cuts Turkish #34 part 3

Leyla asks Tolga his last name. It’s Okaner. She’s puzzled and asks, do you have any connection to Peran Foundation? I’m his son, he replies. She puts her hands to her mouth. I’m very sorry, she cries, your pain is greater than mine. She puts her hands on his face. I should be listening to you. I’m sorry. She hugs him. My condolences. Tolga thanks her and asks her to sit. Tolga has to compose himself before continuing.

Reha comes to see Gulcicek with flowers. She thanks him for saving her. She apologizes for talking nonsense the last time he was there. She can’t even look at him. He says then close your eyes if you want. Close your eyes or I won’t be able to talk.

Reha begins, I used to… before being friends with you… did not see past 40. Maybe I’d be bored, not have the energy to keep up. But, thanks to you I realized… I struggled to accept the fact that I’ve aged. Your grace towards life… has deeply affected me, Gulcicek Hanım. I feel better with you than I have in a long time. You can open your eyes, Gulcicek Hanım. Gulcicek? Did she fall asleep? He can’t wake her. He thinks she’s fainted.

They cut Seckin’s tearful confession to Timur: He was a psychopath. He didn’t leave my fiancée alone. He threatened to kill her. We got a restraining order. When he couldn’t reach her, he came for me. He attacked me. Broke the glass bottle. While I was trying to protect myself… I was so scared. I was in shock, I thought I killed him. I am not a murderer. Later I got scared he would talk, I went to his room to kill him. I couldn’t do it. He sobs.

Seren and Uras return to Efsun’s house. She had no idea what happened, no one contacted her.

Seren goes upstairs and sees the open door to the nursery. She uncovers the crib with the pink and blue items. Seren is very upset. We didn’t want to know, she tells Efsun. Why do you always do this? Why do you constantly try to ruin my life?

Efsun is shocked at the accusation. Seren continues, why don’t you respect the decisions I make? What do you want from me? I want you to see me, Efsun answers. Am I asking too much? You’re the one who doesn’t see me, Seren replies, go ahead and blame this on me, too. [if Seren did a psych rotation, she would realize her mom is a hardcore narcissist.]

Efsun says she wasn’t going to tell Seren. But she needed to know the genders. She couldn’t sleep. I told Zeynep to cover everything up and lock the door. I’m trying to do something to make you happy, but what do you see? You neither ask for help nor include me in your life. What can I do?

Seren asks, do you really care about the way I feel? Mom, you wore white to my wedding. Efsun says, you made me so angry. Why did you get angry, mom, Seren asks, because I didn’t want what you wanted?

Efsun says Seren won’t meet her on common ground. I’m a fashion designer. Do you think it’s easy to survive in this industry? This wedding would catch some attention. Who will inherit my wealth? You. My grandchildren. You’re not willing to do something that benefits us both? But when it comes to Bahar, you run to her side. You never hugged me like you hugged her. Even at that wedding, you said that terrible arrangement was wonderful. Efsun walks away in tears. Seren falls for it. She goes after her mom and gives her a hug. Efsun says she’s sorry. [yeah right]

That's it for the cuts in this episode.

  11. Bahar

Bombalar patladı! Kat, was it you who speculated that Leyla was Timur's mother? Probably a lot of cuts. I have cuts for #35 ready. I'll look at #36 tonight or tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bahar cuts #35

    Not too many important cuts.

I think we saw Tolga bring dinner to Cagla in her office. She had such a sour face throughout. At one point he admitted there are things he hasn’t told her. These things are very personal. Doors in a relationship should be opened slowly. He asks her to have some trust. [Cagla is disappointing me.]

It seems like Leyla Hala has the hots for Evren. At night she snuck to where she thought he was sleeping and found Timur instead. It caused a big commotion and everyone ran out of their bedrooms.

Tolga and Rengin’s convo in the bar: She asks him, aren’t you going to ask me why I’m here? Why are you alone? He says, honestly, I think it’s none my business. But should I ask? She starts, the theorem we spoke about the other day. I’ve thought about it. Could it be summarized as stopping to row in vain? Not rowing in vain, he replies, but more like changing direction. That’s when Rengin asks about meeting with Tolga’s brother.

Ferda is almost out of the cement. Bahar comes in and the sculptor takes a break. Ferda tells her life got better, now she doesn’t feel as rushed. My husband hasn’t been working for 2 years. He drinks heavily. I started work in this company. I have to stand on my own. Yesterday I worked day and night. I couldn’t have children and I needed treatment. It’s very expensive. I want children, I love them very much. The boss calls Ferda’s phone. Bahar puts the phone down.

Bahar says she doesn’t want to speak out of turn. But… if you feel alone now, you will be alone after you give birth, too. Bahar apologizes for saying so, but she’s troubled by hearing this. Ferda understands. She’s been thinking while here, what are my priorities? If I had died…

The boss calls Ferda again. A man comes in, her husband. He’s upset that Ferda isn’t taking the boss’ call. The Germans were not convinced by seeing her on the video call. They halted construction until they get an inspection report.

Bahar reads him the riot act. What are you talking about? This woman is struggling for her life? Where were you until it came to this? You didn’t notice? Did you come home in the evening and say my wife is not here? She’s still not here in the morning? Look at the woman… see what state she’s in! Bahar throws him out of the room. Ferda tries to move and feels pain. She starts to cry. Bahar calms her.

That surgery scene is Ferda’s. It takes about 7 hours. Timur says the patient in going into shock. Is she bleeding? They find bleeding in the uterus. Timur wants to remove it. Bahar objects. They argue and he orders her to leave the OR.

After the surgery, Timur tells Bahar never to do that in his OR again. Bahar fires back, you don’t know how much that woman wanted to be a mother. You didn’t do anything because of stubbornness. Timur reminds her the first rule is to save a patient’s life not their dreams.

Bahar rushes to see Evren. She declares, I won’t be the one to tell her she lost her uterus. Didn’t Timur tell you, Evren answers, we saved it.

Ferda is recovering. She thanks Bahar and Evren for saving her uterus. Bahar says to thank Timur for that. Evren gives Bahar some credit too. She tells Ferda, I hope to see you soon with a baby in your arms. Ferda says, she will have to find someone worthy of being a father. I had no one and clung to him. If I succeeded with him, I can succeed without him.

Bahar tells Cagla about the sort of marriage proposal from Evren and says she’s not ready for that at all. Cagla advises Bahar to be honest and tell Evren she’s not ready… but she should think about accepting.

    That's it.

Steve and I were probably the only ones who watched this. There were enough returning characters to keep it firmly in the ESDLC universe.

The big surprise is Chacorta is back from the dead! I don't know how they will explain this. IIRC, Aurelio received a delivery of his brother's head in a box somewhere in season 2 or 3. And Chacorta is working with the government. He wants revenge on Ismael for killing his son.

I won't recap this but I'll probably tune in here and there.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Bahar

It was me speculating about Leyla being Timur's mother. I did not recognize her as Meryem until you mentioned it. I hate that bright red lipstick she wears. She looked so much better with no lipstick in the bedroom scene with Nevra. She also looked better as a brunette.

Maggie, I'm just watching the Turkish and absorbing the scenes. I catch names as they are mentioned, but that's about it. I watched the Spanish version this morning. Not sure if it works better seeing the one hour Spanish that I understand first then go to the uncut Turkish, but by watching the YouTube version I don't have to stay up as late. I think my husband is getting annoyed with my telenovela addiction so going to bed earlier is for his benefit. Not mine, if I fall asleep too early I tend to wake up half a dozen times through the night.

Dondi, thanks for the additional information. I had no clue about the cement lady being in a bad marriage nor the infertility aspect. That helped. Bahar is such a caring doctor.

  16. BAHAR

I’m confused. Rengin and Timur have split up? I knew they were conflicting, but I didn’t realize they’d quit off each other. What did I miss/forget?

If Rengin wants to make Timur miserable, why did she go after Bahar?

    Why didn’t Evren do Seren’s surgery? He’s a full-blown doctor.

What is wrong with Seren? Is it just nerves? Why haven’t they discharged her? Here they boot you out to make room for other patients. (Did you see all the empty beds in the ER? It sure ain’t like that here!)

Did Bajar and Timur actually inherit anything, or was everything lost in the fire?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Bahar

Rengin did split with Timur. His moving back with Bahar was the last straw. The date with Tolga (or Tugla. The two are brothers and I didn't realize it until this episode)was a business date. She has some ideas about the hospital she pitched to him. He is the money man behind the foundation. They both got food poisoning after there dinner date. I think he is interested in her though.

I'm shocked there are only 2 OB's in that entire huge hospital. One is in surgery the other is sick. Who delivered babies when Rengin was laid off a while back?Seren's water broke. I'm surprised Bahar kept pushing for the Drs to wait to deliver the babies. .(My water broke 21/2 weeks early with my first child 40 years ago. No ambulance was called. My husband drive me to the Dr. Office in -23° weather, the coldest on record at the time, only for the backwoods Dr to send me home yelling me the baby could come in 24 hours or a week! My aunt was an L and D nurse and she was shocked they did that as the risk of infection increases if the baby comes more than 24 hours later. I digress, but in telenovela land the medical inconsistencies are a pet peeve). I agree, why didn't Evrin operate, he just assisted.

I think there may be some insurance compensation for Leyla when everything is settled after she lost everything in the California fires. The two will inherit that money with the hope they will use it towards Umay's (and Parla's) schooling. It was nice she also included Nevra in the will with the nice words to her about being such a wonderful mother to her son. She didn't lose her valuable jewelry or other things that she kept in a safe. Deposit box so that went to Nevra.

I fell asleep towards the end of the show I think, but maybe I saw everything....

My personal thoughts on last night's episode (it'll be super-short)
*Cabo is back from the dead: This dude has like 784,000+ lives LOL.

*Ismael & Diana are on the run from the usual suspects & folks, who want them dead.

*Chacorta is super ruthless, dangerous & menacing.

*Safe to say that nurse, who was forced to help Ismael & Diana likely got whacked.

*Slick-Haired Dude with Glasses is back on the canvas.

*Most of the other characters from "ESDLC" are back, but for how long ?

No time to comment, but I love Leyla being Meryem. Two very loving mothers/mother-figures! I’m glad Bahar’s choice worked out. She knew what Seren wanted. Things are really rolling. I’m having trouble keeping up. But I’m mad at Aziz Uraz and Rengin. (I’m always mad at Efsun) But Bahar, Seren, Leyla etc make up for it.

I am caught up. Thanks to all for the excellent comments, and a big "hoorah" to dondi for filling in what the Telemundo axe team has not seen fit to give us.

First I had no TV because the roofers took it off. Then the DirecTV guy who was meant to come to my house had a bad car accident last week. Finally all was restored to normal yesterday. I was able to watch the shows online.

I just can't believe how the writers are pouring it on poor Bahar. I've lost track of how many times she's almost lost her job.

Rengin seems to be one of those characters who have a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other. Deep down she seems to know that none of the Timur mess is Bahar's fault. But, when she picked up that balled up piece of paper off the floor, the devil took over.

And they certainly went overboard with Aziz Uras unable to handle the stress of premature babies. Timur rightly slapped him down about that complaint letter. When he saw the result of what he'd done at that big doctor convo, his eyes were bugging out of his head.

I was sad to see Leyla go. ITA with Kat about the lipstick, even as she's about to go into surgery! Now we know why Nevra was so edgy and weird when Leyla came to town.

Cagla kind of made a fool of herself searching for evidence of a wife in Tolga's place. I think we'd understand what's going on with him and his brother better without the cuts. The other brother, can't remember his name, is sort of a slick opportunist. Tolga hinted at some dire deeds he'd done in the past.

It's good to see Parla and Umay mostly on good terms. There's still a bit of squabbling that seems more like normal sibling behavior.

Evren is just stellar all the time. He's supportive, loving and patient with Bahar at all times.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bahar

Based on novelera's comment I realized I did miss some important parts about the investigation into Bahar's actions. I thought Rengin was informed of the situation and told Bahar to operate and counseled her during the operation via the window and interrcom. Why would she then turn in the complaint that Aziz Uras crumpled up? Why is Seren still a patient 10 days later? Most c sections you get kicked out in 5 days or less.

This episode seemed way less choppy than some of the recent ones. Maybe I'll go watch the Turkish now. I started learning Turkish on Duolingo. I have about a dozen words under my belt now, lol....of course without the subtitles identifying those words in spoken form is a challenge.

  22. bahar

I have some cuts coming from #36 later. I haven't caught up with the current episode though. I'd have to view 5+ hours to get that done. Maybe I can get there over the weekend.

My thought is that Rengin wanted to get Timur in trouble, not necessarily Bahar. Or maybe it's kill two birds with one stone.

I get a visceral reaction when Efsun appears. I don't know why tries to reason with her. You can't reason with a narcissist.

    Nice, Kat, you're learning Turkish.
    Welcome back, novelera.
