Candy is spontaneous, noble, and impulsive, which makes her commit major mistakes. Her husband's betrayal with her sister damaged her to the point where she no longer believes in men and has closed her heart to love. She is determined to take control of her life. She is also a sensitive writer of "Las estúpidas no van al cielo," a column giving guidance to women. Her favorite phrase is, "I do not have the vocation of doormat; I will not let anyone step on me."

Santiago
Dr. Santiago Lopez Carmona (Jaime Camil). Santiago is a plastic surgeon of great renown, attractive, friendly and likeable. As a result of being abandoned by his wife, he leads a double life. On one side he is a loving father, and on the other a womanizer with an official girlfriend and constant conquests, but deep down he feels very lonely. He is someone in search of affection, restraint, and love.

Patricio
Patricio "Pato" Molina Lizarraga (Valentino Lanús). Patricio is friendly, cautious and very arrogant with those he considers inferior. The humiliation of being abandoned by Candy, who he truly loved, was a blow to his self-esteem. The news of her death filled him with guilt. He loves his job but feels dissatisfied with life.

Tío Meño
Tío Meño, Candy's uncle, is a very sympathetic and sensitive mature man who lives alone. His wife and family turned their backs on him when he confessed that he was homosexual, and they prevent him from seeing his son. He cares very much for Candy and gives her his full support, which gives her great confidence.

Alicia
Alicia Morales de Molina (Fabiola Campomanes) is Candy's older sister, embittered after a crash cut short her dancing career. She is insensitive, immoral and calculating, and uses people for own advantage, especially Patricio who is powerless against her charms. She is vain; her physical appearance is a high priority.

Marissa
Marissa (Sabine Moussier), Santiago's girlfriend, is vain, insensitive, cold, and calculating, but refined and elegant, educated in the best schools. She always wants to be in the spotlight, and her relationship with Santiago helps to achieve this goal. She knows that he is an excellent catch and wants to marry him as soon as possible.

Raúl – investor; Marissa’s brother; editor. He is a good man who feels alone, and the death of his spouse left him with a great resentment towards life. Women are distant objects for him. He resists love for fear of losing it again. Now he feels an obligation to help his sister Marissa and take care of her.

Arturo and Margarita – Patricio's dad and mom. Arturo is an authoritarian man who enjoys subjugating others, beginning with his own wife. He manages his family as he manages his business, giving orders and abusing power. He is a recovering alcoholic.

Margareta is a woman who runs from reality. She pretends to be happy, and hides the sadness of being married to an alcoholic who denigrates her and is unfaithful. She is afraid of becoming old and resorts to plastic surger, she is much affected by "what people say."

Jaime is a widow with married children. He is an artist, a sensitive man, very affectionate. He lives well off the interest of his money, but he works as a pianist in a hotel lobby bar. Isabel will be his autumn love.




Isabel, Santiago's mother, is absentminded, likeable, a little slow; a "hippie light" who resists the passing of time. Her ideals are still those of the 70s. She is a magic, rather than a tragic, woman. She is a widow, loving her family profoundly and taking care of her grand-daughters in a very special manner. At 60 years of age, Isabel will meet Jaime and have a new encounter with love.

Eduardo is Santiago's close friend and knows all his secrets. He is his anesthetician in surgery and they pass most of their free time together. Eduardo is immature and irresponsible about the consequences of his acts. He doesn't want to hurt his wife Chayo, but he misses the bachelor life and can't keep from stepping out with other women.

Chayo, Eduardo's wife, is a dreamer, with a contagious laugh, who helps others without thinking about it, from her heart. She doesn't doubt Eduardo and believes him until the last word. She is not a fool, but she is very much in love. Her contact with Candy will show her the necessity of getting to know who she herself really is.

Bárbara is a liberated woman, or at least she appears to be. She divorced twice and got a lot of money out of her ex-husbands. She is a psychologist who will work with Candy in the Institute. She doesn't beat around the bush, she is viscerally sincere.



Zamora
Zamora is a skirtchaser, falling in love with all and would marry all of them except for one detail: he promised his mother he would remain single to take care of her. He works as a waiter in Meño's restaurant. He is affable, his speech is confused, he takes life as it presents itself, has a good heart.

Toño is Zamora's opposite, ingenuous, extremely timid with women. He runs to Zamora like a disciple when he needs love advice. They dream of making a fortune in some grand business, but fear it might through them into poverty.




Soledad is Candy's best friend, and Beto's mother. She was employed in Patricio's business and had a relationship with the boss which barely lasted three months and left her pregnant. Since she feels she was not born to work like a donkey, she decides to confront her son's father to get enough money to live well. She has a modest apartment. While Candy struggles to be an independent woman, Soledad seeks a man who will maintain her and not "condemn" her to work.
