Abismo de pasión #95 7/25/12: Dam is no Gene Kelly but i believe he can dance decent... and despite being dealt nothing but lemons lately, he smiled!!

 Recap by Super Marta...

(While watching this ep, i kept remembering the 'Singing in the rain' scene with the film audio/video timing mishap... NOO NOO NOO!!! YESS YESS YESS!!)

we don't have much repeat at all...
P: God forgive me but i could almost swear that YOU killed Augusto!
L: Why do you say that Padre?
P: Well, i just asked my 8-ball if Carmina killed him and it said 'DEFINITELY'...
(jk) I know Carmina was here at the time of the tragic happenings.
C: I was with Gossip queen at her house and they called me to tell me!.
L: Thats true, my husb took her there...and when Don Lucio called, he brought her here.
P: Then why did Gael see you when you left, precisely with Horacio? Porque?

Dr T argue with Sabri re Paolo
You are making a mistake. He is not only much older, 'no tiene oficio ni beneficio' (he is a dumb bum), famed for being a young gal giggolo. (NOO NOO NOO!!)
Sabri won't listen. she believes in Paolo's intentions, and that he will come ask her mother for her hand. (YESS YESS YESS!!)
Dr T is doubtful, but in any case will never allow her to marry P. (NOO NOO NOO!!)
Sabri argues being grown up capable of making own decisios, even if i have to leave home to do it. (YESS YESS YESS!!)
Paolo and Flo. Paolo giggles about Dam crying when Flo told him about the baby. Sure, he cried because he can't 'take back time'. Paolo gives her a note with the amount his friend wants to facilitate what she needs to fake the 9 mos of the pregnancy. (YESS YESS YESS!!) Flo blown away about the amount. (NOO NOO NOO!!)

Lolita and Padre still arguing...
P: He came here to find ELisa, and he saw Horacio and Carm leaving in the truck. (YESS YESS YESS)
Car: I came back because i asked Horacio to come get my bags. (Lolita is very surprised, thinking about Carmina's words.) Lolita in disbelieve her husband would be involved in a fake plan. She would put hands on fire for him. (NOO NOO NOO!!)
Carm uses that to turn the spotlight around on Padre, you come to give false accusations, pushes and yells at Padre out the door. (NOO NOO NOO!!)
Lolita crying in disbelief. gives Carm a scared stare.
(and my grandson sang the credits song with me)
Dr T and Quique... came to talk to Sabri. but i am also worried about you. you were fired from procesa. you have to do something with your life. (YESS YESS YESS!!) Quique won't take a small salary. But can't do nothing either. I have a project and wanted to talk to you. (NOO NOO NOO!!) Dr T says go find something in Merida, and stay away from Flo. (and we the audience says YESS YESS YESS!!) Quique says don't worry about that anymore. All she wants Dam for is his money. Dr T says you are wrong, she loves him, so much she is expecting his child. (and we say to that NOO NOO NOO!!)

BegoneYa and Senora Beltran.. seems BegoneYa just learned Senora sold the hacienda and is poking for info on who is the buyer. Senora puts her down cold, never been interested in your gossip, and now that I am leaving town, i won't fall for your games. (in comes Alfie). BegoneYa wants to gossip to Alfie, but Alfie not interested in BegoneYa's latest gossip and gets sent packing harshly. Senora Eduviges Beltran is surprised by Alfie's visit. Alfie came to make an offer for her hacienda. Edu says too late, just sold it. (YESS YESS YESS!!)Alfie insists you can undo that transaction (NOO NOO NOO!!), I WANT that hacienda for my son Dam and will pay whatever.

Gael/Dam. Gael glad to see him, need a favor from Dam. Tells him about trying to get to a deal about the production of Cielo Abierto and green house. Dam says One more or one less problem with my mom is the least of my worries. But will Elisa be ok with it? Gael says Elisa needs the money. Gael will try to convince Elisa. Dam tells Gael he is marrying Flo. Gael thinks Dam does not know about not sibs, have to get his conscience clean.. you are not sibs. /I know that. / And even then want to marry Flo??? what is WRONG WITH YOU?? (that's what WE SAY!!) (Gael gets mad and barks back at Dam:) I WILL be with Elisa because I DO care for her! (no! don't lower yourself to be a pinch hitter, Gael!!) Dan does not want to engage in argument: I will go see my uncle at church.

Dam asks Loopy to cancel the 'amonestaciones'. Loopy happy misinterpreting as Dam cancels wedding as a whole, but Dam clarifies he only wants to cancel the church ceremony, will still get married by civil law. Loopy mad at that idea because Dam don't love Flo. YOU LOVE THE OTHER ONE (La otra?, Loopy, are you in wrong soap?). Dam shrugs shoulders, saying 'It doesn't matter anymore. Elisa and I will never be together. Now it is Elisa who wants us apart. Loopy understands Elisa's reasons. Dam thinks Loopy knows Flo is preggers. Loopy barks angry to Dam about getting Flo preggers.(NOO NOO NOO!!)
D: Elisa is right, my duty is to marry Flo. i cannot play games about a child. (YESS YESS YESS)
P: I told you not to play with that girl. But think about it. you won't be able to forget Elisa only because you marry that girl. And that child's future worries me. (NOO NOO NOO!)
D: Dont worry. i will make my marriage work and i will be the best father to that child. (YESS YESS YESS)
P: Marriages like that never work!! Remember your dad and your mother! think about it hard, son. you even bought amulets to try to get your parents to love each other. (NOO NOO NOO)
D: Yes, but that story does not need to repeat itself. (YESS YESS YESS)

Paolo and Alfie.. ALfie reprimend Paolo about Carmina coming to say he still harasses her. (YESS YESS YESS) Paolo denies, denies. he understands she is not woman for him. Denies denies more. Now going out with Sabrina Tovar. And that relationship is serious. (NOO NOO NOO)
Alfie denies her friendship with BegoneYa. she wants that relationship with Carmina over. Paolo says he and Sabrina are leaving.
Gabino runs in to join them, Alfie takes him to study. Alfie mocks Gabino about being seen with a woman. Whoever it is, she must be a saint to withstand you. Need you to find out who bought the hacienda from the Beltran widow. (YESS YESS YESS) Gab plays 'que pena Senora' face. (NOO NOO NOO) Alfie says you know me, you know i always get what i want, and i want to give that to Dam for wedding present. (YESS YESS YESS) Need you to find out who bought it. so i can improve the offer. One more thing, i want you to help me with something else. Find out how serious relationship Paolo/Sabrina. Even more because he wants to take her away from La Ermita. Loyal dog says 'sure thing'. Gab goes right back to Paolo, and tells him about Alfie's interest in his Sabrina fling. what games are you playing?.. Paolo says surely Alfie will get Guido out of jail and he will be trying to prove his innocence. So be careful from here on out.

At Tovar house. Flo looking for Sabrina. Sabrina ain't home yet. BegoneYa does not want Flo to come to see Sabrina, dont want Flo to keep tempting Enriquito. Flo surprised. tells BegoneYa she is behind in her gossip. 'Don't you know your son is going out with the granddaughter of the curandera? you know, I dont think she is the right girl for him.. but i will leave that for you to deal with'.

Elisa and Lucio... Elisa tells him she read the contract, and my dad's sig was there. Lucio says if Gab did pay that money, then your dad had it in his account, and we only need to get it out and return it to Gabino and 'san se acabo'. Elisa doubtful, her signature is not recorded on her dad's account. Lucio will speak to the bank manager.

Dam catches Alfie at hacienda, Dam serious. Dam tells her Procesadora will take the habanero product of Cielo Abierto and the green house. (YESS YESS YESS!!) Alfie says no way. (NOO NOO NOO!!) Don't you feel a bit of mercy? They have major problems. (YESS YESS YESS) Alfie not moved. She says Elisa is in no condition to sign contract because lands no longer belong to the Cast family. Gabino bought it before Aug died. (NOO NOO NOO!!) Dam surprised, does Elisa know? dont know, dont care. Dam not happy.

We come back from Commercial and Dam is even angrier. He can't believe what she is up to. 'Do you pretend to send lawyers to take the greenhouse away from her?? THat's not fair!! How much does Elisa owe you? I will sign a check off to you and settle that account!! (YESS YESS YESS!!) No you can't do that!! (NOO NOO NOO!!) Sure i can and i will!! In my world friends help other friends!! (YESS YESS YESS!!) Elisa was the one who got in debt with me and i won't accept your money even if she ends up ruined!! (NOO NOO NOO!!)How can you be so inhuman?? This is a business matter! YOu have to have a cold head!! Forgive me for what i will say now, but listening to you, i can't help but feel ashamed of being your son.

Lolita and Horacio... Lolita questions Horacio about Carmina and him leaving the quinta. Padre Loopy was here accusing Carmina of killing Augusto. That can't be, i was with her. Yes you said that, but then why did Gael see you and her leaving the quinta. Horacio tries to confuse her about the time and daylight/dark... 'Ok, will tell you the truth. I was outside waiting for Dona Carmina to pack her bags. I never saw Don Augie. I can't tell whether he was here or not. If he talked to her, that is something only SHE would know.'

Gael visits II. Came to see if she was indeed changing her ways, but can see she has no intention to. (NOO NOO NOO) What are you still doing here? you ask me for help and i gave it to you and i see it is for nothing, Just so it is clear, I dont appreciate being utilized!
II: IF i came close to you is because you are the only one in town i can count on. (YESS YESS YESS) When Gabino found out i was leaving, he threatened me and took my money and he hit me. Gael bites his lip mad/indignated. II hugs him faking being very upset. You can see II smiles hugging Gael, seems she wants to put Gael in harms way (and she calls herself a mother?? GMAB!!! that settles it for me. I don't want II to survive this FIN! Gael does not deserve to have to deal with this CRAP BAG!!! and that is all she is...).

Gab at procesa... Maru mocks Gab about having seen him with II after II had left procesa suddenly and quietly. Later on he was asking for II. And II came several times to ask for him.. and now they are waltzing around town together. Gab angry she is messing with his private life, Maru says dont care, noone does. Gab leaves, Maru makes a 'off with the pest!' gesture.

Gab goes to his office. calls the notary in charge of the house sale deal. reminds him to be discreet about who is in the deal and to rush the documents. Carmina comes in to talk.

Lucio at home, Dam comes in anxious. Dam needs to speak to him urgently, Lucio was just heading to Merida to do a transaction for Elisa. Dam will go with him, he also wants to help Elisa without her knowing. Have a plan. Dam will explain on the way to Merida.

Lolita/Elisa. Lolita worried about something Horacio said to her. Elisa says go settle things with your husband. Lolita says have to go see him in a bit anyway to close shop. Masoquist Elisa wants to talk to Carmina about something related to Cielo Abierto. Lolita questions Elisa letting Carmina stay in the house. Masoquist Elisa too generous to kick her out. She is all alone.. yada yada. we are each other's only family... yada yada. After all that happened, need to give her a chance to show she changed.. yada yada. (YESS YESS YESS) Lolita totally against it. Have to get this woman out of here and out of your life to be more at peace. (NOO NOO NOO!!) Elisa can't kick her out, my mom would never do that. (YESS YESS YESS)

Carmina/Gab at procesa... Gab offers himself to Carmina. Gab reminds her he gets 'paid' one way or another. (YESS YESS YESS) Carmina just walks away basically turning him down. (NOO NOO NOO) Carmina wonders of Horacio would betray Gab. Carm sells it saying if Horacio 'sings', both Gab and Carmina are finished. Carmina is trying to convince Gab to get rid of Horacio. Gab says will take care of that imbecile today. Gab makes an anonymous call to the police to tell on Horacio's whereabouts in La Ermita.

At Merida, Dam makes a huge withdrawal from his personal account. Bank guy says it is a huge amount. Dam and Lucio exchange smiles. Lucio says 'i told you they would have a stroke about the amount'. Dam tells the bank guy don't worry, just moving it from one account to another. Bank guy tells them about the steps and that Elisa will have to come get the money later. Lucio says no prob.

Gab yelling at workers at Procesadora... In comes Gael running and punches Gabino for hitting II (note no worker lifted a finger to stop him). 'You will learn to respect her, whether you want to or not!' Gael is taken away, and Gab walks away to shake off the blow (Gael got him good!).

Lolita and Horacio at shop... Horacio trying to make ammends their earlier argument. Lolita still does not understand why Loopy questions Carmina and Horacio. they hear sirens. Horacio gets visibly worried. Lolita goes on about Loopy's accusations to him. Horacio seems to be trying to get a promise of solidarity at last second: 'Promise you won't doubt me anymore?/ i promise./ i love you lolita. you are the biggest thing that ever happened to me. i dont want any more distrust and misunderstandings between us./ you are my husband and i swore to be by your side always. [Kiss]/ i love you. [More kissing] / Lolita wonders about the sirens... /Love you.

Cops come right into shop. 'Horacio Ramirez, you are under arrest for the Campeche felonies!.' They cuff him. Lolita impactada.

Previews:
Alfie happily tells Guido that Flo and Dam are expecting.
Paloma suspicious, comments to Elisa that if it is a lie again, Dam will find out.
Dam telling Flo that he wants to go with her to the next checkup to hear the sound/heartbeat of their baby.

  1. Super Marta Miercoles:
Thank you for this recap. Can you believe that Gab turned on Horacio? I guess I should have seen that coming. Honor among thieves and all that.
Marta, I love what you wrote in this section:
"Dont worry. I will make my marriage work and i will be the best father to that child. (YESS YESS YESS) P: Marriages like that never work!! Remember your dad and your mother! think about it hard, son. you even bought amulets to try to get your parents to love each other.

It was just so Sad. Damian is an emotional basket case. He is as easily manipulated as a 10 year old child.

In real life, a man as damaged as Damian would have very little chance of finding real happiness. Damn, Damiam needs his Mom to be imprisoned, he needs a full time therapist, stability, good friends and some success in life. After a year of stabity, maybe he should call Elisa for a date.

I know he is stoopid, but I still feel sad for him.

Thanks again, Marta, for recapping this capitulo.

    Abrazos,

    Elna June

  2. Marta, thanks for your great recap. Your "Singin' in the Rain" theme was great.

One sad moment was when Dam had another revelation about how horrible Mommy Dearest is. The completely exasperated look on his face was priceless.

The baddies are slowly turning on one another. Gab just "stole" Fina's house (and the list of other crap he's pulled on her) and ratted out Horacio.

And Horacio trying to get Lolita to pledge loyalty to him after ALL the lies he's told her. Super Ick!

And EJ sorry I missed commenting on your wonderful recap yesterday. I too want to be part of your camp.

  3. Marta, this was awesome as usual. You rock amiga. Thank you for your stupendous translations. Such a gift to us.

Gabino used some words today that I don't recall hearing before. They are:
    1. Speaking to Carmina he called Horacio an achichincle = underling?
    2. He yelled at the Proce workers that they were a bola de zánganos = bunch of drones
No wonder they didn't help him when Gail go stupendously pummeled him. Poor Gab's face is gonna look like hamburger.

EJ, I know an excellent therapist who could help Dam. And she's got a cement cenote. Maybe she needs a helper? Ahem, I would be happy to sacrifice my valuable time in this endeavor. For the good of the Patio and all.

Karen, GREAT observation that the baddies are turning on each other. This ought to mix things up nicely.

Amigos y amigas, I will be traveling for the next week and a half. If I am able to check in I will but my comments will be brief. Know that I am with Camp Abismo in spirit.

    Aloha.

  4. I agree, EJ.
Both Damian and Elisa are very damaged emotionally, and if they were to get together and marry or elope at this time, the people who caused all the damage would still be around and would still be trying to separate them, causing even more damage. Those two cannot be together until Carmina just goes away and Alfonsina just either goes away or has a total (rosa de Guadalupe style) change of heart and begin to support them.
Until then, the whole environment around would be too toxic for them to be able to stop the damage and begin to heal emotionally, something they need if they want to ever be a happy couple.

  5. I LOVE your "Singing in the Rain", reference Marta! So perfect for this episode. Heavens, I hope the next time we get one of those mooning, D/E lovesick scenes I don't start hearing the "I Love You! I love You! I love you!" overacting dialog from same movie. Would sort of fit though....

Karen is so right, we have all the baddies now turning on each other, which makes one wonder "what the heck could they be thinking". They all can spill the beans on each other, not sure why Gab decided to turn Horacio into the police. I think that may have been a bad move...

Alfi turned up the Beyotch mode last night. Seriously, if I was Dam Stoopid I would have just packed my bags and at least got out of that house. He still wants to "do right" by Flo, fine. But he's a big boy and if he has that kind of money, he can pay for a hotel room or buy a nice place. I thought Kenia's was sort of sweet.Glutton for punishment..well, he and Elisa both seem to relish in that.

I have to say, little surprised by Padre's reaction. I think that was Uncle Lupe talking more than a good father of the faith. Normally, the padre's will be the ones saying there needs to be a marriage if there's a child on the way, blah blah blah and here's Lupe trying to talk him out of it.Not that he's wrong, but I found it interesting and felt rather sorry for Lupe.

Gab may not have a clean face for the rest of this TN. What a right hook my Gael has! Would have to have been over that "Crap Bag" (oh, so true). Man, I despise that woman and really her plot point and weepy tendrils are the most boring in this TN. I'll put up with the little snot right now since it gives us Braulio, etc. Where's a good, devious murderer when you need one.

So, now we play "who gets the house"? I'm rooting for Gab for the sure enjoyment of watching Alfi burst a few blood vessels while trying to make her face react. And Guido can sit and flash that gorgeous smile while it happens.

  6. I think my fav moments were the two minutes of Dam and Lucio joking around at bank in Merida and then the Gael whacking Gabino with all 'zanganos' just watching the show. that was priceless!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Great job Marta! A lot of people were in denial last night, but at least we had some action.

Gab is like Flor-- someone's always driven to slap them around when they go into town. I believe he decided to turn Horacio in because Carmina said he had already confessed their crime (Blanca) to the Padre and would likely blab to someone else about it. We know she's the one who blabbed to the Padre about Blanca. She just manipulated Gab masterfully.

So glad that Dam is putting all that money in Elisa's account, but now she'll think her papa left her all that money. That's more credit than he deserves.

  8. Marta - Great recap!! Thank you. You had a lot of conversation to deal with and I am grateful, since there were parts I did not understand, yet again.
My favorite comment --- (La otra?, Loopy, are you in wrong soap?).

Elisa is going to the head of the class … erm … stooped list. Do not let Carmina stay in that house! Botela a la calle!

Gabino is becoming the community punching bag. ;o)

I have a bad feeling that Alfi will somehow block the transfer of Dam's money. Impossible in real life, but ... this is telenovelaland.

Police sirens? Seriously? There was no traffic in that street, either. Couldn't they just drive up quietly and not TIP OFF the perp?

    ReplyDelete
  9. daisynjay - Gael perfected that right hook in La Hija del Mariachi.

    ;o)

  10. Marta, this was an excellent episode and your recap was simply superb. Enjoyed every YESS and every NOO. Loved your conversation translations and your comments: "no! don't lower yourself to be a pinch hitter, Gael!!" were great.

To follow up on that: "Gael gets mad and barks back at Dam:) I WILL be with Elisa because I DO care for her!" - Is Gael really announcing he is going to go after Elisa? Not only does he know full well Elisa does not love him (loves only Dam), but there's the little matter of Paloma. He never should have had that tryst with her. He knows she loves/is obsessed with (fine line) him, and he made a huge mistake.

Doris, was thrilled that "Gabino is becoming the community punching bag". That man will have more bruises and scars than Mike Tyson a the height of his career. And I couldn't be happier.

Elna June, ITA that Alfie has psychologically damaged Dam - one of the greatest of her many sins.

Karen, the baddies are starting to self destruct, and Horacio was definitely the weakest link. I was a little surprised it happened so quickly but hoping the truth does come out so Lolita can grieve and move on.

I love Lupe. It's so refreshing to see a priest portrayed as someone strong, corageous and unafraid. I know that if he used that commanding voice and tone with me, I'd confess every sin I'd ever committted.

No doubt that Alfie is the Alpha Beyotch, but Carmina slithers in a quiet but equally devious manner. She knows just what buttons to push, and is harrowing in her insane rantings and accusations. I'd rather face Alfie.

Thanks again Marta! This was great.

    Safe Travels Sylvia!

    Diana

  11. In the spirit of marta's recap, I should have written---

Gabino is becoming the community punching bag. YESS YESS YESS!

WHAT is up with blogger.com today??? this is my third time to try to post this turkey. Each time, it wants me to sign in *and* give them a cell phone number (as IF!), and I am already signed in. Arggghhhh....

    ReplyDelete
  12. Marta, I have such faith in your Spanish that I sat back and relaxed during the entire episode and therefore couldn't understand ANYTHING! Of course, you enlightened me today! LOVED your Gene Kelly reference, I'm going to try one of his kicks!!!!  Whoops,  almost slid down!

Marta, you make a good point, yes, Elisa and Dam are damaged but the main problem is that they can't get away from the damagers (made up word!) Actually, it's surprising that they aren't drug addicted alcoholics who seek solace in sex! (Whoops, I guess Dam has done the sex part!)   Tears and all, I think Elisa is stronger than she looks.

See, I feel vindicated, so glad I'm not a Melanie/Estafania type, it is just plain stoooopid to ask Carminative (!) to stay in the house. Elisa, you need to get your mean groove going!

If we actually have someone looking for dangling participles, I QUIT! Besides, I love them, they are always so funny, "While sitting on the beach, the ocean looked beautiful!" Ya gotta love that sentence!

Sylvia, have a great long trip and NM have a great short trip!

  13. Thanks For this very clever recap. I love the YESS/NOO motif. Hilarious.

    Padre Lupe checks his 8-ball...YESS.

Well, after last night it looks like Carmina may be Gab's dream woman after all... and here I was thinking that he was after Alfonsina.

I'm fascinated with seeing how Paolo's friend is going to manage Florencia's pregnancy... that should be fun. I really don't expect this to be very successful, especially with Dam wanting to go along on prenatal visits. I imagine that Alfy will want to tag along as well.

And how in the world will they get Sabrina to cooperate with this harebrained plan?

I hope that Lucio checks on the funds in Augusto's account before things get all confused with Dam's deposit.

    Carlos

  14. doris,
daisynjay - Gael perfected that right hook in La Hija del Mariachi.
absolutely! just ask 'Coloso', 'Macias' or 'Corona'. or those guys who pretended to 'buy' Rosario for the night.
i was going to say 'YESS YESS YESS a thousand times over!!' when Gael punched Gabino but i took it back when i thought that the 'victim' behind the blow was so unworthy.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Carlos, good point, Gabino did show 'affection/attraction/desire' for Carmina last night, so maybe it was Carmina the 'queen' he was thinking of sharing the hacienda with.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Its times like these that I wish Gael will end up alone. Harsh? Yes but I absolutely have hated most of his actions up to now: courting Elisa while sleeping with Paloma. Maybe he even gets Elisa to the next level but I want Dam to find out about Flor fake pregnancy come after Elisa and swoop her away from Gael. And by that time Pal could be in love with someone else.
    What if Pal is pregnant?!

    Oh the possibilities.

    ReplyDelete
  17. What we learned last night:

We learned Sabrina & Elisa are the dumbest chicks in La Ermita.

We learned Enrique's been loafing around instead of looking for a job, but he has a "plan."

We learned Florencia needs to figure out how to fool everyone that she's pregnant for the next nine months.*

We learned that Senora Beltran got errybody's number, especially Begonia's.

Begonia learned Enrique's been seeing Paloma.

Damian & Lucio learned of Elisa's money situation.

Lolita learned she should have listened to Ramona.

*Gael & Paloma's sex scene came out of nowhere for a reason. I think Paloma will end up embarazada and Florencia will snatch that baby instead of Sabrina's.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Carlos, is that latina girl boxer showing in the new Mc Donalds commercial the boxer girl you were referring to earlier on?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Marta: Great funny recap.

Well, Alfonsina must have how much money? Let's see, she's sustained considerable losses at the procesadora, she gave Gabino one-half of the purchase price of Cielo Abierto, she's paid the bill for Guido to get out of jail, she's going to double the offer of the anonymous purchaser of the Beltrán property, anything else?

And, now Damián is coming forward to pay the amount Elisa owes her on the greenhouse loans. They must have the biggest money pit in Mexico.

Well, Horacio just got arrested. That isn't going to shut him up. He's smart enough to figure out who ratted him out. Gabino is going to have to reach into the jail to silence him forever - or maybe Carmina will do that. Poor Lolita.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Anon, now you are worrying me.
*Gael & Paloma's sex scene came out of nowhere for a reason. I think Paloma will end up embarazada and Florencia will snatch that baby instead of Sabrina's.
if that is the case, that baby has the Arango blood... so Flo could have the baby tested and it would seem that that baby is Damian's... yikes!
but will Paloma allow anyone to steal her baby? i only see that happening if they tell her the baby died or stte. But... would Flo allow a DNA test on the baby? well, yes if Alfie forces the issue. poor Alfie, in this case the 'secrets' she has been tryint o hide so hard all her life would come back to work against her.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I have a feeling Guido going free now and his not being on board with Flo/Paolo's plan will be the key to unravel that plot.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I bet Gab/Carmina will threaten Horacio into keeping quiet by saying they could hurt Lolita, his aquiles heel.

    ReplyDelete
  23. A huge YESS for this fantastic recap, Super Marta! Thank you so much!

My favorite was a quiet little throwaway line of yours:

"Gab plays the 'que pena Señora' face."
    What a suck-up!

Doris, I don't believe Alfie can block Dam's transfer because he withdrew the money IN CASH and then deposited the cash into the account newly opened for Elisa. The banker tried to discourage him because there is a tax associated with this sort of transaction. But Dam was dam happy to pay the tax since there is now no electronic link between his account and Elisa's.

(Of course, Elisa still has to agree to go to Mérida and sign some papers. And being so stoopid, she may give Lucio a hard time over doing so.)

Sandy in TN, are there really Dangling Participle Police trolling the blog? Egad!

Sylvia, Thanks for the vocab notes -- I'm always looking to expland my collection of insultos.

Which reminds me, thanks Marta, for letting us savor "ni oficio ni beneficio". Lovely phrase, that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Since neither Elisa or Carmina (suprisingly) has bothered to look for and read the will, neither of them knows who inherits the house, and who can put whom out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thank you Marta, the convo between Horacio and Lolita was very confusing to me, and thanks to you I know what's going on.

So I wonder how Flo is going to avoid having sex with Damian for the next 8 months while she pretends to be pregnant.

    ReplyDelete
  26. On Flo's fake pregnancy: Didn't Paolo have a conversation with Flo last night about some friend of his who can help her out? He didn't mention how.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Pasofino, yes, and when Paolo gave her a piece of paper showing how much this guy would charge them Flo almost had a stroke... i wonder if what he is charging for is keeping Sabrina hidden for 8 mos with medical expenses for hte pregnancy and childbirth and also coordinating the stealing of the baby. it was definitely a considerable money figure judging from her reaction.

  28. Why Maru deserves a place on the not stoopid list

... along with Lucio and the horses:

    >Stoopid Gweedo kept her completely out of the loop during his brief tenure at the ProCe. Gweedo bypassed her and he himself handed all important documents to the messenger-boy Chente (CHENTE!). Chente had been subcontracted, if you will, by Gabino and probably looked at all the papers he carried.) So she really wouldn't have any way of knowing WHO was ripping off WHOM.

    >Gweedo turned a deaf ear to her when she tried to explain why firing Enrique wasn't a good idea, to put it mildly.

    >She is going to be an important witness that Gab was poking around in the archives, looking at old contracts when someone thinks to question the authenticity of the signature on the contract of sale for Cielo Abierto. (Well okay, that's wishful thinking. Could happen, though.)

    >She has great taste in men.

  29. Well thought out arguments, NM. I know I am now changing my mind and erasing her off the STOOPID list.

    ReplyDelete
  30. NM, so we have in the way of lists:

    (1) Stooopid
    (2) Not- Stooopid
    (3) Meanest

We really don't have a "Smart" list yet do we? (I don't think we have enought horses for that!) I'm OK with Maru on the Not- Stooopid, but would object to putting her on anything resembling smart!

Anon, we might you for these lists!

  31. Hmm...if they did a DNA test on Sabrina's baby, it would have a nice Landuchi/Tovar mixture that would make it look like...Flo and Enrique's! That would be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sandy in TN:

    (4) Smart: The Killer Orange

Has she failed to rise (or sink)to any challenge thus far?

Blu -- That WOULD be awesome. Or maybe the child will bear a distinctive Tovar birthmark on his belly, (kind of like a Dr Seuss Snitch), a lunar in the shape of and "S" (for Stoopid). Then everyone will know!

  33. "Tovars have stars upon thars."

    Brilliant, Sara! ROFL!

  34. i wonder if the paper Gabino threw in the trashcan with his practice Augie signatures is still there... has it been more than 24 hrs since he came back to the office the day of the burial?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Another point about Maru:

She may not care for Gabino, but no large scale embezzling happened under his watch and he's been there for at least 15 years.

All of a sudden Damian's gone, Guido's in and firing good employees and all the procesadora's money is gone and employees aren't being paid.

Of course she's going to suspect Guido, not Gabino.

    I think Maru=Not Stoopid.
I am sorry, amigos, but evene with my tongue rammed firmly in my cheek, I cannot comprehend how Flo can manage a fake pregnancy under Alfie's eagle eye.

Perhaps she could fool DamiaM, although he is already suspicious, but the Black Widow, not a chance. So maybe Paolo's friend's plan is as simple as send her back to the more salubrious climate of D.F., where she can keep in touch with everyone in fabulous La Ermita with Photoshopped images sent through snail mail. No one seems to use Facetime, after all.

I know my friend Emilia is busy being a new and justly proud grandmother, but we are developing an urgent need for beanies here in the Passion Pit. The plot is so stupid and the acting so decent that I am stuck with severe cognitive dissonance.

Marta--Thank heavens I an not alone in the
    Abismo...(YESS YESS YESS)

  37. EJ:

Let me tell you a little secret. Once or twice, inadvertently, I spent an evening at Camp Abismo without using a beanie. And guess what? It didn't make any difference!

    I DON'T NEED A TIN-FOIL BEANIE ANYMORE! I BELIEVE IT ALL!

  38. Wow....really tough problems with posting today!

Gosh! It seems that we have a quorum for Maru on the Not-Stoopid list, let's do it!

NM, Smart: Killer Orange, yes! (I agree, but I hate to give the old Orange Tart any accolades!)

Marta, you have the best novela mind ever, Gabino's practice forgery is still in the trash can! Maybe Maru will find it!

  39. YESYESYES...loved your recap Marta. NONONONO..my recording didn't work last night and I missed everything. Sure hope they'll reshow Gael punching Gabino out.

Loving the comments as much as the recap. This is such a great group. Dangling participles. I'm all for 'em Sandy. Maybe it's just that we're women of a "certain age" (tactful term for old hags...just kiddin' mai tai.)

Sylvia...Bon Voyage sweet lady. Hope to hear from you, however briefly.

Thanks again Super Marta Miercoles y tambien Viernes (yes, folks, our indefatiguable Marta is also recapping Refugio now...in addition to having all her daughter and her grandson at home and working full-time!)

  40. May I propose that a section of the Patio be set aside as Beanie Optional?

I would put a small table there for Carminative. The drink of choice? El destornillador (which means both kinds of screwdriver.

The ladies at the table would wear head scarves (lending a soupçon of the medina); and everyone would sport very dark glasses to add glamour and anonymity. And to hide their crazy eyes.

  41. The recaps and comments are just fabulous for this TN! The actual show grates on my nerve enough that I'm going to take a teensy vacation and just visit the recaps sometimes. Even so, I'll probably be able to hear Elisa sobbing in the background.

  42. Carlos, this time i did hear the name of the boxer girl. it is Marlene Esparza, so i am sure it is the same girl. they are showing the McD commercial a lot.

  43. am i too obsolete or is a screwdriver mostly vodka and oj? its been at least 20 yrs since i had one.

    ReplyDelete
  44. OK, NM, The fashion sense of the CCC table is right up my alley. I have always enjoyed a very cold screwdriver...

FYI,Actually, the counselors section of Camp Abismo is open to all readers/ recappers of Caray Caray. You may have relative or friends you want to send to Camp Abismo. One of the most fun things we Camp Counselors do here is make up the Camp Activities. The opportunities to have fun with your beloved family members are more fun than an amusement park.

Just imagine, Aunt Alice from Santa Barbara has come to Camp Abismo to recuperate from her latest facelift but she doesn't want to lose cardio fitness or gain a pound. She stresses this when she calls to ask for free accommodations in your home. She mentions that she loves to hike. So after she arrives, EJ and the Camp Activities group sends her on the day-long 14 miler over at nearby Tolay Lake. Perhaps we, ahem, neglected to mention that this is the walk led by the Herpetology post-grad student from UCDavis. -e calls this one a six-snake minimum hike in our dry NorCal hills. He promises to find and display six species of snakes on the walks, and one of those will be a western rattlesnake, a most poisonous little darling. They are quite common around here. Won't Aunt Alice have fun?

Vivi, Karen, Sylvia and others who have requested a place, I am sure you can see the possibilities for your own beloved blood kin or perhaps a dear co-worker. We try to take care of everyone here at Camp Abismo, but space is limited.

  45. La Paloma

Noooooooo! Say it isn't so -- Camp Abismo wouldn't be nearly as much fun without you!

Well ok (NM grumbles and shrugs grudgingly). I guess a 'teensy' vacation is allowed. And you're right. You'll probably keep hearing Elisa wailing even when the tv is turned off. :D

Marta, Yes, a screwdriver is made of vodka and oj. And as a consequence is is VERY ORANGE. And depending on how you mix it, can be DEADLY.

  46. El destornillador..... Will we end up destornilladorazoed?

I'll sit at the Beanie Optional table, but I'm wearing my AFDB made from two layers.
