Governor
Montero collapsed on the floor during the television interview.
Emergency medical personnel arrived to help. The Garzas were
watching this on television. Peligros speculated that this was
planned. Miguel arrived home at that moment, aware of what had just
happened.
Marcus
was outside talking to the television interviewer. She told him that
Montero only had a glass of water in her presence and that he was
alright until he started bleeding from the eyes. Neither had ever
seen that before and Marcus told her that he would have to speak to
the district attorney to get the autopsy results.
Ishiro
told Varela that they couldn't leave just yet because he needed to
see a doctor. After that he wold take him to a safe place. He took
the guy to see a doctor and told Jimena to stay put. She didn't.
Miguel
and Adela talked about his situation. He was confident that his
lawyers would take care of everything. Things were ugly in Mismiso
they could not go into the USA for a while. Adela brought up the
foundation but Miguel was unwilling to talk about that at the moment.
Claudia
tried to find out what happened but Marcus didn't say much as he
didn't have the information yet.
Governor
Montero's death was announced on television ust as Ishiro and Jimena
returned.
Marcus
handed Edna an evidence bag. It included a case with Ephelina.
Jimena
told Miguel what happened. Ishiro told him that Varela was with a
doctor and would need to be protected. Adela told Jimena to stay at
their place because it would be safer than a hotel. She showed her
to a room and they almost ended up fighting again, but Adela kept her
cool. Jimena told her that Montero had been a user of Ephelina.
Adela didn't say this but likely concluded that there was no
coincidence that he died so mysteriously.
Adela
wanted to talk to Miguel about the foundation. She was angry on
behalf of the people it was helping. Miguel told her he couldn't do
anything about it at the moment. Adela walked out of their room.
Flaco
worked all night to keep moving the dinero around while Ishiro made
sure he was well-stoked on on coffee and junk food.
Hector
told Claudia they couldn't publish the photo of Duarte and the Pig
because Montero's death took up all the relevant column inches. It
would happen, though, and he was pleased that he finally had proof of
who this man was. They were waiting for the autopsy report.
Miguel
and Edna had another verbal duel over her methods. She threatened
again to expose him as a mafioso. Nothing new there.
Mauricio
and Duarte talked about Montero's addiction to Ephelina and the
possible connexion to his death. Duarte talked to the Pig about
this. Tacho was amused until Pig told him their next step. They
could not eliminate the journalists they had on their list because
now the word about how deadly Ephelina is needed to be spread.
Varela
told Miguel how he was threatened and tortured and that he had given
the correct formula but had been told something had gone wrong. He
didn't think it was the original formula but only Farchala would have
known.
Tacho
followed a female journalist and held her at gunpoint as she was
talking about this to someone on the phone.
Ishiro
brought in the fearful chemist with the lab rats. Miguel demanded an
explanation. One was still alive but the other was dead [Did we
really need to see this?] The chemist didn't know what went
wrong; the second rat died of a massive haemmorage. Miguel told him
and Varela that they would have to work together to solve the
problem. The chemist said he was afraid of Hans, but Ishiro told him
that this would not be a problem.
Tacho
went after Alberto and scared the crap out of him, demanding
information.
Edna
told Gary about Montero's death. They still had no solid evidence
against Miguel. They couldn't use what they found in his office and
all computer files are encrypted. They would need to find evidence
of the danger of Ephelina or they would have to close the case.
The
news of Montero's death was on the front page of the morning edition.
Hector wanted to know how they found out about the man using
Ephelina and was peeved that Marcus spilled the frijoles. Hector
called Alberto who fessed up to having been threatened at gunpoint.
Claudia received a text at the same time saying he wasn't the only
victim. She looked afraid then confessed she had tried Ephelina
recently.
Miguel
spoke with the president about the newspaper article. He was peeved
that Montero's death was blamed on Ephelina. The president was angry
with the situation.
Adela
wanted to talk to Miguel about the foundation. This ended in a stalemate..
The
pig read the newspaper story and laughed. The sow asked her Pig
whether she could work more on “Maira” but he told her No. She
protested, saying she wanted to kill her and Miguel. He seemed to be
turned on like this like a wild boar, but told her she would need to
be patient.
Miguel
talked to Hector who didn't know how many journalists had been
threatened. Iguel was sure this had somehow come from the Pig and
Hector showed him the photo on his cell phone. It had not yet been
published due to a journalistic ethic, but now was the time. Miguel
persuaded him to to allow him to provide security for him and his
family.
Carmen
talked to the woman Tacho threatened. She had tried the stuff also
and had some weird sensations. She wasn't sure whether that was from
the drug or from her encounter with Tacho but when she got home she
threw away all the Ephelina she had.
Pig's
demise was debunked on television and his connexion to Duarte was
revealed. The government is offering rewards for information about
the Pig.
Miguel
talked to the president about this and they drank to it. In the AM.
Edna
chewed out Gary and Marcus because the Pig had been there under their
noses. She was almost panicking. She called Duarte's office, which
shook him up even more. She summoned him to her office for a
conversation. He tried to say “This is a courtesy on my part.,”
he told her. Whatever he needed to believe that he was still in
charge. However, he knew he wasn't.
The
Pig and his Sow hurriedly packed to leave. Tacho was trying to hurry
them along.
Marcus
and Hector argued about the investigation. Marcus demanded to know
what Hector wanted out of this. [didn't catch the answer.]
Edna
tried interrogating Duarte who tried to day he was being set up... by
Hector Bernal. He wouldn't have recognized the Pig. Of course she
not only didn't believe him, she was still sure he was conducting
dirty business in the Pig sty. He took offense and walked out only
to have Hector take his picture and taunt him.
Flaco
and Jorge talked about Kenia. Jorge didn't want to bother Miguel
with their concerns but Flaco did not agree.
Edna
told Gary they needed somehow to infiltrate Duarte's office.
Kenia
went to the locker and found the note about evidence against Duarte.
She went back to the office but was locked out of the server. She
sat at a desk and thought about Flaco's description of how the virgin
computer was set up.
She failed to get in the other two times.
Miguel
told Adela that the president will ask for Duarte's resignation.
Another
death occurred in Miami.
And
in Mexico City.
Thanks Urban..The Pig and his sow? Oh I never took you for a farm girl. :-) Perfect.
ReplyDeleteSo Taco prances out onto the streets in broad daylight, finds each and every reporter in CDMX, ambushes them at gunpoint, threatens them, commits to their memory EXACTLY what to print, disappears, they do as told, all their bosses print the bogus story without confirming it, everyone believes it, and NOT ONE of the reporters was carrying his own gun and blows Taco's brains out right there on the sidewalk?
OK if I believe all that, I assume I can believe that Adela actually STILL Luuuurves the Migster.
Carlos fed Edna the most unbelievable load of pigshit I have ever heard. Too bad Hector does not have an actual CAMERA and could have gotten some decent photos, maybe of them shaking hands or actually standing face to face talking.
Thank you, UA. Univision Now, the streaming service, is down for the day to "make improvements" so you helped me keep up. I do find myself looking forward to new episodes, although I never would have chosen to begin this TN had I known how violent it would be.
ReplyDeleteI think Miguel's treatment of Adela's foundation for battered women is the beginning of the end for him. That along with the murders of Leopold and Karina. It's too bad. I had some hope for the character as he began to lighten up and show some emotion. Instead it seems Chisca will be the one to survive Karmagedon. The writes have flipped both their personalities.
I was as glad to see Hans go as I was Valentin. He was scary and the worst of the worst. And there's a lot of it on this show. I thought the two of them made Tacho seem almost cuddly.
And speaking of Tacho, it's a little surprising to see El Pig keep his commitment to have Tacho as a socio. He treated Tacho like a whipped dog for so long. I guess you can teach an old pig new tricks

ReplyDeleteEdna tells Gary about Montero’s death? Really, this is the first time he heard of it? It was all, over the news!
Couldn’t believe that for a second.....
Kirby, I have never been nor will ever be on a farm! That is so not my speed.
ReplyDeleteI won't be sorry when this series ends. Action and dialogue too fast for me to do my best work. Sadly, the new Rubi will also debut simultaneously in Mexico and the US.
The crimes in this wee impossible to keep track of so the Karmageddon page will have less detail. I will start working on it tomorrow.
Thank you, U A.
ReplyDeleteWell, I did grow up on a farm , and my dad raised cows, steer, and then pigs. Let me tell you , pigs are nasty creatures . I was never afraid of the the steer . They were big, docile animals . They roamed the hillside, and then when my dad wanted to feed them , he called "Here, yammy, yammy, yammy" and they came running for their dinner like The barncats. However, the pigs were huge and scary..especially the sows with piglets . I remember having nightmares of hiding in the garage becAuse the pigs got out of their pen. So Epig is a good name for this dude.
UA, thanks for an excellent read; and the screenshots were an added delight.
ReplyDeleteI agree that there is much more violence and crime in this TN than I expected. And I really expected that the "Dragon" was going to try to turn things around in the capo world, but never did I think that he would be a criminal himself. And now he has pulled Adela into his dark world and made her one of "them." I think I was more disappointed in Adela than any of the other characters. She had been my heroine up until she ignored the fact that Miguel had Karina killed. Now she is upset about the foundation and worries about the women and children. Well, why doesn't she take them to that island Miguel bought for her? I hope she turns herself around before she gets to the "sow" level.
Kirby, I had to put double straps on my beanie; and it still wanted to fly off during the Tacoboy threats and Duarte's load of pigshit.
UA, 6 years ago, I would have made the same statement, "I have never been nor will ever be on a farm!" I was an educator and school administrator up until I retired. Look at me now! with 30 goats and too many chickens to count. No pigs, though; and from what Susanlynn wrote, I sure am glad I don't!
No Farms No FOOD.
ReplyDeleteRight on , Kirby.
ReplyDeleteP.s....believe me...pig**** is the worst. Right up there with Turkey and chicken. Cows and steer and horse, on the other hand, not that bad. When you live in a rural area , you get exposed to it all. Chickie will have to do testimonial on goat****.....no goats around here.
ReplyDeleteHa
Thank you UA. I was falling asleep last night trying to watch. Still suffering from Shingles, but I'll do my best tonight for tonight's episode.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Adela is secretly okay with Karina being dead. After all, she probably doesn't like having the women around who have slept with Miguel before her.
I still don't understand why the battered women's shelter must be shut down. It makes no sense. But not much in this series makes sense at all.
I wonder if the Efilina that those who died bleeding had not taken the real thing but a knock off instead. Maybe Hans provided a generic material that was no good?
Thanks, Urban.
ReplyDeleteI actually felt a wee tad sorry for Miguel last night. His whole world is shattering and Adela keeps going on and on about the women's shelter. Found myself thinking, "not now, Adela. Give him a chance to think." She doesn't seem to get how very complicated his ventures have become and that the feds have all his connections under a microscope. She really thinks he's Superman.
Anyhoo, Ishiro is still interesting to watch.
I look away a lot when I see the violence and blood coming though.
My grandmother had hogs on her farm, plus chickens, tobacco, corn, and fig trees. I never worked the farm, but liked watching the hogs cool off in the mud in their pen. Never seen any creatures happier at their meal time.
Cynthia, the shelter was mostly used to buy fake supplies at some inflated price or something like that to "wash" some money I believe, and the actual shelter was just a benevolent side effect. If my memory is correct. Anyway that is the gist of it.
ReplyDeleteAdela was muy impactada when it surfaced that Mig had Karina killed.
If Ad is truly not in it for the money, and there is no more sizzle than WE have seen,
and she has talents and interests which are far, far, outside what is going on in MigWorld,
and it appears she is stuck with Jimenema in her orbit for the duration,
MAYBE it is time to sit down with Granny and think this through.
i was thinking that some ingredient must have been contaminated with something like ebola. On the other hand subconjunctival haemorrahging can also happen from high blood pressure. This would make sense if that drug caused HBP over time.
ReplyDeleteAdela might be OK with Karina being dead and it isn't like Miguel did it himself. However, his name isn't Miguel for nothing. He is the Michael Corleone of this tale whose good intentions go south.
I've heard that pigs are nasty creatures and so boar would probably be worse.
