ReplyDelete#45, a brief recap. Estrada is on the phone with Duque. He’s offered him some drug territory in the U.S. if he’ll facilitate Gloria being moved to a prison in CDMX. Duque is willing but he asks for something more, that Estrada remove Torres from the cartel (and his protection, of course).
Jacinto and Luisa come to the prison in Tijuana to offer Gloria freedom after one year if she betrays Estrada. She spits on Jacinto. Later Jacinto and Luisa mention that they wouldn’t have kept their word (not a surprise).
Yadi and Ramona trade insults at the salon. Ramona insults Yadi about her videos, even rubbing it in about Gael.
Nino comes to see Laura. Ramona tells him she’s left for Colombia (the lie everyone gets). Bolillo comes out with a massive hangover and says he doesn’t remember Laura telling him about going to Colombia.
Yadi come to Gael’s NA group, but she isn’t able to convince him to reunite despite her saying she’s two years clean. He says something about being married.
The plump nasty guard brings Gloria some food that makes her sick. She’s told it’s courtesy of the Governor.
Erna is fed up with Rocio wanting to be waited on because of the pregnancy. She calls Jacinto who tells her that’s her role and that the child will be passed off as being hers. Erna calls her mother and, miracle of miracles, no one overhears her phone conversation. Erna swears she won’t reveal where she’s headed.
Duque orders Jacinto to move Gloria to Mexico City. Jacinto is upset. He wanted to keep making her life miserable. Duque: do it or die.
Laura and Fercho are dealing with some coyotes who will get them across the border in the trunk of a car. Fercho now seems interested in Laura. Guess intelligence isn’t a priority for him.
Dani talks with Ed over the phone. He says he wants to return to Mexico so that he can visit his mother in prison.
Luisa mouths off to Jacinto and is pulled out of her wheelchair and thrown to the floor. She’s furious about Gloria being moved to another prison. He tells her she’ll make the call for the transfer, or he’ll tell the press she ended up the way she is trying to kill her own sister.
Duque wants Castillo to get him the $150 million seized from Gloria. Duque of course threatens his life again. But he also shows him a video of Castillo having killed Torres’s old partner (forgot his name).
Gloria has been moved. They really didn’t show this very clearly. Anyway, she’s in that same four- or five-person cell that Maribel was in. Juana introduces herself and talks about karma.
Erna arrives in L.A. Dani runs into her arms. [I’m looking forward to Jacinto discovering her absence.]
Ed comes to see Gloria in prison. She asks him what the arrangement was to get her moved. And that’s where the episode ends, with Ed reluctant to tell her he’s been sacrificed.

*Gloria eating probably sour food which the Governor (Jacinto) had served for her especially. Disgusting.
*Gut feeling once the baby is born, Rocio will be DEAD & Erna will end up raising the baby.

*Juana can kiss my EXPLETIVE.
*Ramona is getting more annoying: I hope she dies a PAINFUL death soon.
*Luisa: SHUT UP & MOVE ON. You're also the reason why your father was killed.

ReplyDeleteGracias, Novelera. Super summary. "Fercho now seems interested in Laura. Guess intelligence isn’t a priority for him." I love the wit you bring to this crazy show.
At last, Erna left. Will she have the sense to pay for everything in cash, rather than a credit card that Jacinto can trace, and block the locator feature on her phone?
Special effects guys: That was too big a wad of spittle for Gloria aiming and landing on Jacinto's face. I was grossed out, instead of applauding.
I'm not sure what Ramona's purpose is in this tale.
So Gael got married. He seems still ticked at Yadi and not indifferent to her. I'm guessing he's back in the story for a (maybe credible) reason.

ReplyDeleteNiecie, for some reason I thought Gael was lying about having gotten married. They said Yadi had come to some of his meetings (during the two-year time lapse), but he was absent. Something was said about his having been in Monterrey. ITA, they keep beating this dead horse of a relationship for some reason.

ReplyDeleteI went back and watched the beginning scene of capitulo 1……. the long walk of Gloria walking with a couple. The couple was Yadi and Gael. Food for thought. Hahaha

Can’t wait for Estrada to make baccalà mantecato out of Bacalao.
Ramona doesn’t have a nice word to say to anyone.
I also thought Gael lied about getting married, novelera. Not that it’s proof, but I didn’t notice a wedding ring. Seeing Tj’s comment, I went back to look at the first ep. Yes, that’s Gael with Yadi. Great catch, Tj. In the show’s timeline it’s another year until that scene happens.
I can’t get over how Dani looks the same after a 2-year time jump. Same for Miguel. We haven’t seen Amanda yet. They shipped her off to Aunt Jimena.
Jacinto’s treatment of Luisa was deplorable. I almost felt sorry for her.
Too bad Maribel is gone, it would have been interesting to see Glo and Maribel in the same prison.
I’d like to know what excuse Erna gave for going to LA. She didn’t get the chance to say.
I see that Velvet will premiere on May 19, 9p Eastern Time. I’m looking forward to it. I guess that means Jefa will continue at 10p.

ReplyDeleteEd doesn’t tell Gloria the full story behind the deal with Duque. She senses this and worries about his safety.
At some strip club, Duque sets up a hit on Ed with a sicario named Sancho but he’s not to harm Gloria.
DEA agents led by, Mauricio Dominguez, carry out a raid on the strip club to capture Duque. Unfortunately, Duque escapes. But Sancho is captured. Mauricio was the agent who arrested Gloria in the first episode.
Glo tells Ed that there’s a traitor working for Estrada who betrayed her. Find him. Juana enters the visitor area and stares at Glo and Ed. Glo fills him in about her.
Laura begins to feel claustrophobic about traveling in the car trunk. Fercho advises her to think about her son. He also stops her from giving the coyote the full amount for the trip and makes sure she turns off her cell phone.
Nino keeps trying to reach Laura to give her the info on Bolillo.
Yadi and Ramona get into it again about the hidden money. Yadi almost blabs about Dani. They shake on calling a truce.
Erna tells Mati that Jacinto knocked up the maid. Horror!
Bolillo shows up at the salon and asks, why are you closed? Ramona says they’re shorthanded because Laura went to Colombia. Bolillo has tried calling Laura but she doesn’t answer.
Fercho tries to keep Laura calm as they approach the border. He suddenly gets “aroused” because of the closeness and bumpy road. He tells her, I’m sorry, I’m not made of wood. [Well…Lol!]
Bolillo senses something fishy. The ladies get snarky with him and tell him to go home and wait for Laura to call. Ramona brings up the dirty business he did with Maribel. He throws it right back at her. He tells her she needs a man, gives her a peck on the lips and leaves.
Ed tells Glo he’s going to put pressure on Castillo to help her case. She doesn’t want to hold him back from living his life. He suggests she consider spilling on Estrada if she’s extradited to the US. Glo refuses to do that because Estrada helped her and it would put Ed in danger. He still doesn’t tell her he’s out of the cartel. Visiting time is up and we see Juana and a male visitor have been staring at Ed and Glo.
Mauricio finds the pic of Ed that Sancho had. He then makes a call to someone named Esther to begin phase two. He tells her Gloria Guzman is in your hands.
Duque is pissed that the DEA is on his trail. He’s also worried that Sancho will spill about the hit on Ed. He gives the order to eliminate Sancho and have someone else kill Ed.
Erna tells Mati that she has a chance to raise Rocio’s baby. Mati’s not on board with that.
Luisa comes to see Jacinto and tells him Erna left. He had no idea.
The big boss is upset that the DEA is after Duque. Debora questions why Duque was with Sancho. Was it to kill Torres?
The coyote makes it to the border check. He’s asked for documents. A guard’s dog barks at the car trunk. Fercho holds his hand over Laura’s mouth. For some reason, the dog is told to back off. I expected they’d open the trunk. After a brief discussion amongst the guards, the coyote is cleared for entrance. Fercho plants a celebratory kiss on Laura. [Careful, Fercho.]

ReplyDeleteMauricio and Esther meet in the park, trying not to make it obvious they are meeting. Esther makes it clear she’s not happy to be working with Mauricio. He promises he will transfer her to Washington as soon as the mission is over. He leaves a book behind with info on the operation. It’s info on Gloria.
I don’t remember the older inmate’s name. She takes Gloria around and identifies the various cliques and who to watch out for. The woman talks about killing the man who kidnapped her son. To this day, she doesn’t know if her son is alive or dead.
Duque thinks the boss will be happy if he kills Ed. He would have Gloria all to himself.
Jacinto is ticked at Rocio for not knowing Erna left. He tries calling Erna again. He leaves her a threatening message. Cut to dinner in LA. Dani says he will talk to Jacinto and ask him why he hates them.
The boss gives Duque the green light to kill Ed.
Ed returns to LA and he’s shocked to find Erna there. He orders Bocho to take Erna away and start packing because they need to leave. He thinks Erna has given their location to Jacinto. Mati tries to assure him that Erna has changed. Ed is furious. Mati has put everyone in danger.
Dani says he’s the one that told Erna he’s alive. He complains he won’t live in hiding anymore. He’s tired of waiting for Ed and Glo. He hears terrible things—his mom is a drug dealer and his dad was corrupt. He asks if it’s true.
Laura takes a shower and has no problem coming into the room in just a towel. Fercho’s a bit flustered. She tells Fercho to turn his back while she gets dressed. Is she fully dressed? Shouldn’t she have a shirt over her bra? Anyway, she’s grateful to Fercho and tells him he’s very cute. If she wasn’t with Bolillo she’d be into him like he’s into her. Fercho isn’t sure what to do with that info. He decides to take a shower [make it a cold one, Fercho.]
Laura snoops in Fercho’s wallet. Might be a pic of him and his mom or granny.
Bolillo has the girl from the club come to the apartment. Nino comes to confront Bolillo. He sees the girl. He calls Bolillo out on cheating and threatens him with a gun.
Ed tells Dani some hard truths about the people who are after his mother.
Fercho and Laura stake out Arturo’s place, waiting to see Miguel. She’s overjoyed to see he’s okay but wonders what Art has him doing.
Mauricio and his sidekick review info. Gloria Guzman: 15 years for drug trafficking, money laundering, embezzlement. Ed Torres: kicked out of the FGR for killing his partner, Marco. Mauricio wants to know why Duque wants Ed dead. Why not kill Gloria too?
Ed tells Dani they have to stick together as family and no one can know he’s alive. Ed warns Erna.
Gloria asks the older woman about Maribel. Was she bad to Juana? Yes, the woman answers, they were inseparable until Maribel crossed the line. She adds, make the most out of Juana respecting you, but don’t trust her.
A new cellmate arrives at the prison. It’s Esther. The older woman stares at her.
And we are out.

I'm guessing guy viewers are keen on Laura, but I'm done with her. She's way too clueless on just about everything.
