  1. El Angel de Aurora #66
    Part 1 of 3

Jezabel accused Antonio of coming after JC for taking Aurora away from him. Her hand was raised. JC tried to get her to calm down. She was pulling the ownership card saying she could do as she pleased. Antonio told her off as a shareholder as everyone else exchanged looks.

Patricia and Briana argued again. Patricia denied Briana's accusation of trying to ruin Aurora's wedding and played the Victim Card and accused Briana of trying to be haughty. Briana wasn't having it, telling her she needed to distance herself from Jezabel or she would pay for this someday.

Helena told her father to calm down to avoid a scene [which Jezabel had already begun]. Aurora told Jezabel she was not to raise her hand against employees. Demon tried to silence her, but Angel told Demon and Jezabel off, then left. Jezabel yelled “Ingrate!” at his back and left the area with Luis following her like a small dog. Demon cracked the whip and the area began to clear. Aurora thanked Antonio for defending Angel. Antonio told Elvia he had doubts about Jezabel's loyalty to her sister. She then told Aurora that Juventino Macias had lived for a number of years in Matamoros; she was meeting later with colleagues for more information.

Rolando's teacher told Mario that the usual consequence for theft was expulsion. He said there had to b a better way so this doesn't happen with other kids.

Briana and Patricia continued arguing which started with another lie about Jezabel and segued to Patricia not liking the idea of Briana leaving a company where she cold catch a husband. When Briana denied looking for one because she had Angel Patricia slapped her with the usual force, followed by the usual insults. Briana told her off, saying that was the last slap and threatening to out her and Jezabel for the attack on Aurora. She finally walked out, disowning Patricia as her mother. [She should have done this ages ago].

Helena and Angel talked outside. She asked if he had used her to get ahead. She was hurt that her father was going to help him. Angel said he hoped she'd be happy with Demon. She said she would. But the facial expression he didn't see said otherwise.

Demon was not happy with Jezabel's earlier behaviour and how it would look to the employees and other witnesses. She clearly did not care, thinking herself above the rules, referring to other people as dogs that bark and never bite. She asked if he saw Antonio's reaction.

Vicki asked Dr Rubio about her treatment. The answer was not what Vicki hoped for. She wanted to conquer the disease for her family. She cried. Pascual looked worried.

Demon speculated that Antonio was looking to get Aurora back by helping Angel, but why, since JC had married her. Neither could quite understand this.

The Lunch Club put their hands together with Angel's to show their support of him.

As Jezabel tried to call Pintas Cassandra entered her office. She got on her case for not knocking, threatened termination, and almost broke her arm. As Casandra exited with the coffee cup Jezabel threw something at the door that had closed behind her.

Antonio and Elvia went to a park bench to talk. He suspected fraud and the hospital. Elvia told him that everyone at the wedding talked about what he did. He told her the past teaches but should not hold back; he had resolved to move forward and find a new love. He hand was already on his thigh, and he covered it.

Helena was still trying to figure out her father's actions. Demon asked her about why Antonio was helping Angel “as if he is more his child than you are.” She mentioned the recent talk to him but neither could figure this out. Demon told her he would never give up on her.

Aurora and JC walked along the beach and she flashed back to an encounter with Pintas, which gave her a bad vibe. JC reminded her they were on their honeymoon and she should put the bad stuff aside. She agreed to and was also sure that Gabriel was near.

Angel entered Antonio's super-modern office and was very impressed. Antonio introduced him to his secretary and then pointed to Angel's desk, telling him that this was the beginning of his journey to greatness.

JC encouraged Aurora to forget everyone else for now was they ran along the edge of the waves.

Angel was comfortable with himself as is, then mentioned being called a naco. Antonio praised Angel's good qualities and encouraged him to expand his view so he can interact with other kinds of people. He was to compare himself an amateur boxer preparing to be a pro. Angel liked the analogy.

Helena looked at the mural while thinking about Demon's comments about not understanding Aurora's affection for Angel. Then telling Demon she could not wait to have a baby. Anita came out and disturbed her reverie.

JC became more understanding about Gabriel and Aurora decided to fight to get the Campero corporation presidency back. JC promised to help her.

Antonio decided to have Angel become his assistant. He explained that his priorities should be family, study, and work. Angel asked where Briana fit into this and Antonio told him that Briana would not be working there. Angel had not known this.

Anita brought Helena home. Vicki welcomed her but Pascual did not. Helena finally told them that her wedding would be in one month. Finally Pascual told her she was a good influence on Angel because he has changed since meeting her, having bigger wings to fly with.

Antonio began his instruction on the business world. He was preparing him for a two-month project. He had to look at the tale of David and Goliath to learn who his enemies were and what dirty pool they play.

JC and Aurora talked about his jealousy of Antonio which Aurora said is about the past. He requested a promise: “If you ever stop loving me, I must be the first to know.” She was a bit shocked, but agreed,

JC and Aurora went home to a faux happy welcome from Jezabel. She showed them the new array of photos in the library, then said that Carmela was preparing breakfast for them.

Rolando's teacher told Maggie the school's director had not yet come to a decision. Various thing were being taken into consideration, including that Rolando had not acted in malice. Maggie and Mario offered compensation for the stolen cell phones but the teacher said it was not necessary. Maggie said her son wasn't a bad kid and Mario asked the teacher to work with them.

Jezabel excused herself to do wedding planning for Helena and Demon. Aurora reminded her that this is their wedding, not hers. At Jezabel's shocked face Aurora laughed and said “That was a joke”, but Jezabel did not laugh. JC noticed this. Aurora said said she wasn't the only one who could make such comments. Jezabel sat down and faked amusement before changing the subject to the investigation. No answers, Jezabel segued into implications of an affair between Antonio and Elvia. She did not get the reaction she wanted so she walked out and called Pintas.

Demon dropped in on the Santos family. Pascual told him that he and Angel will be working for Antonio and will no longer need his help. Demon invited himself to stay for coffee.

Angel came home and talked to the two guys on the street who last saw Pintas near Palmiro's shop. Anita and Rolando came out as the guys walked off.

Helena told Antonio she was going to live with Demon.

Demon gave Vicki a set of keys... to the house he had bought for them. Pascual looked like he smelled a rat.

Maggie told Rolando what she had talked about with his teacher. He was not going to be expelled [It sounded like his grade would be affected; correct me if I'm wrong].

Aurora told Elvia about Romualdo and what they suspected about him.

Pintas stalked Mario on the street and stabbed him in the gut. He even stomped on his hip when he was down.

Thanks Urban, that was great. I don’t see much hope for Mario because of the way Pintas kept moving the knife. He’s changed so much, for the better, and I hate to see him die. And for poor Rolando to lose his dad.

Hopefully if Helena does move in with Demon she will see what he’s really like. I couldn’t believe he just walked into Vicki and Pascual’s house. I smell a rat too, I think the house will be far away from Helena.

Jezabel is so entitled. I’m not sure how Aurora doesn’t see it. And Patricia is bad too, I hope Briana really is done with her.

We're only at the midpoint so there will probably be back and forth with Briana and her nasty mother. As for how Aurora has not seen Jezabel's sense of entitlement, imagine its build-up over the decades as Jezabel has to present a false face to Aurora under the same roof. It's bursting free now.

Due to a local Breaking News interruption of 12 minutes this afternoon I can't post a recap until tomorrow because I think there was something important missing.

Urban, thank you for a great recap as this story unfolds. I haven't had a chance to watch yet .

I will be sad if the writers kill off Mario just as he is trying to reform and be a good father for Rolando . Susan

  7. Angel/Aurora.. Back from a visit to my daughter in Texas, and off to a meeting, which is why I'm commenting a little early on Episode 67. Is El Morro dead? It certainly looked like it, but the title of the episode leaves us in doubt. It would certainly be more poetic justice if he's still alive. He had totally reformed.

  8. "LAS AMAZONAS" HIGHLIGHTS DISCUSSION
Thursday was the Gran Final & my super-short observations:
*Majority of the villains went down HARD: 3 out of the main 4 had deadly ends (Loreto getting shot to death in a gunfight; Deborah/Eugenia falling to her death inside some large mine or whatever; Bernada getting crushed by large rocks inside the mine).

*Lisete got off somewhat easy. She apologized to Diana & Co., including her 3 daughters.

*Diana Elisa testifying in court about what really happened to Vicente. Bernarda shooting Vicente during the fight between Victoriano & Loreto.

*Eduardo & Casandra; Alejandro & Diana; Emiliano & Constanza getting their happily ever after triple wedding, which was amazing since Alejandro's daughters also attended.

*Plus in the final week of this Telenovela (which I enjoyed a lot) Victoriano & Ines got married; I think it was revealed that Alejandro was Victoriano's son.

*Several years later: Alejandro & Diana including their kids; plus Diana Elisa & her kid I think; Eduardo & Casandra including their son; Emiliano & Constanza (who is heavily preggers) including some of the others joined the dinner table along with Victoriano & Ines at the Santos family ranch grounds.

    Part 1 of 3

A neighbor ran outside calling out that someone attacked El Morro. Angel and the other two guys found him and called for an ambulance. Mario begged Angel to look after Rolando,

Demon explained that the house wasn't a mansion but it was modern and in a quieter and safer neighborhood. He said he was doing this in the name of the affection Helena had for them [If you believe that I have a bridge for sale]. Vicki looked happy but Pascual turned down the gift of the house, saying that Vicki's medical expenses were sufficient. He handed the keys back to Demon.

Elvia told Aurora they needed to contact police about Romualdo to determine his connexion to the anonymous notes. Aurora saw this as unimportant compared to finding Gabriel or the rapist. JC had to take a phone call, so he left the room. Elvia explained that no private eye takes on a search for a rapist; that's a police matter. She had explained this to Antonio, Aurora had heard of a possible personal relationship between Elvia and Antonio and implied it was a distraction, which Elvia denied. [Methinks Aurora harbors some jealousy].

The EMT arrived seconds too late to save Mario, who had bled out very quickly. Rolando freaked. Simon and Angel held him and Maggie back. Angel immediately concluded that Pintas was the killer.

JC said he needed to talk to Antonio; Aurora said she needed some air.

Antonio told Helena that it was too soon for her to move in with Demon. He warned her not to move into the mansion because he did not trust Jezabel.

Jezabel entered the cafeteria where Cassandra was eating with Patricia, who stopped in mid-sentence when she saw the Mother/Boss/Friend From Hell. Cassandra said they should get out of there, thinking that Jezabel was meeting Edgar there.

Anita ran home and told her parents what happened. Demon blinked but said nothing.

Pintas disposed of the weapon, mask, and jacket, and then called Jezabel, who was angry at his lateness. He did not apologize, but said he would be there. Patricia and Cassandra leaned way back in their seats to avoid being seen through the glass-intensive door.

Antonio had thought that Helena came to argue about Angel. He warned her again about Jezabel. Helena no longer believed she was her father's priority and would not deal with this, feeling that she had taken last place in his life.

Angel spoke to a cop, sure that Pintas killed Mario. The cop mentioned that Mario had a rap sheet. The cop told another to send a unit to the barrio as Angel described Pintas.

Patricia and Cassandra sneaked out to the restroom just as Pintas showed up and took the seat opposite Jezabel. He behaved as though it was all a joke; he did not appear to be drunk. She asked him why he never told her he lived in the same nabe as Angel. He answered by asking why that mattered, saying it was just coincidence. He summoned the waiter and ordered food. All that mattered to Jezabel was that Aurora not recognize him, mentioning to the effect that she could spot him at any time. He said to calm down; she only would have missed his kisses [off to the vomitorium] but not to worry. She asked if he knew Angel before she ordered his murder. He answered that he identified him from the photos she gave him [so he is sober at the moment]. Patricia peeked inside and recognized Pintas from having seen him drunk in the barrio. It looked like she had just gotten there so it's not likely she heard any of this conversation.

    Part 2 of 3

JC and Antonio talked about business, then about “Romualdo,” whom JC remembered from the elevator at the office. Antonio recalled the comment about the sender of the notes knowing all of them and JC agreed saying that that was said to Elvia, who has told police. Angel called Antonio to tell him about the murder. JC delayed Antonio's departure to ask him “If you are looking for Gabriel, why so much attention to Angel?

Rolando cried. His vision became blurred as he looked at Angel. He panicked.

Helena could not stop thinking of Angel. Briana barged in – wearing her signature dominatrix boots – to castigate her for this. She called her a mosca muerta and got nastier beyond that [She is becoming her mother and seems to be just as delusional]. Helena stood up, accusing her of envy, but Briana denied this, simply saying she hated her and calling her an ingrate. Helena did not want to fight with her but Briana accused her of getting between her and Angel.

Rolando rubbed his eyes and his vision cleared. He blamed himself for Mario's death. Angel hugged him, telling him he would take care of him as he had promised his father [Angel will be a good father someday].

Snacks out in reception? Demon was not happy with this. He challenged Aurora's authority to do this. She let him know she was taking steps to regain her position.

Helena denied taking anything from Briana. She flashed back to their childhood – likely to shortly after their parents' marriage – to the fights they had. This had not changed. She tried to resolve this, but Briana would not allow it. She walked out, saying “Adios.”

Demon said he did not get the memo and insisted they talk about it in his office.

In the cafeteria, Pintas told Jezabel – perhaps a little too strongly – that he did not know Angel. She caved with “Okay”. Patricia had retaken her seat in the outside area and stared inside. Jezabel had gotten up, but Pintas got her to sit back down, asking why the hurry. As he played with the knife he asked why she wanted him Angel dead. She told him it wasn't his business, and told him he was good for nothing and useless. She looked off to her right before taking a wad of cash out of her purse and slapping it on the table. Patricia saw this but may not have heard the conversation. He grabbed and pocketed the money as she threatened him over any possible lie about knowing Angel or his family. He took the seat to the left of hers and said that he was fed up with her threats and wasn't one to beat around the bush. “So tell me, you got a job for me, El Pintas? Or do you want to see your daddy?” He leaned back, hands behind head, and laughed. She said she had no need for his services but to stay nearby. She then got up and left. He ordered more food.

    Part 3 of 3

Patricia got up and approached Pintas [She's an idiot]. He recognized her and said so and she said where she recalled him from. He took the knife, recalled seeing her play the villana, and made stabbing motions. Then he became sexually threatening. She tried to slap him but he backed away quickly and laughed. “Curiosity killed the cat,” he said. “Don't go snooping into others' business our you'll end up like the cat. Dead for being a busybody.” She did her best to not show fear but was actually scared shitless. He grinned as he dropped a bill on the table and left. She got up as Cassandra came out of the bathroom. She told her that Edgar never arrived and Jezabel had gone.

Antonio flashed back to his conversation with JC about Angel. Antonio told JC he wanted to give Angel the opportunities he deserved. JC asked for details but Antonio said he wanted to make sure of them. JC asked if he had hired another investigator and reminded him of his promise. JC was beginning to think that Antonio was still looking to be near Aurora which would nullify their gentlemen's agreement.

Maggie called Esperanza to tell her about the murder. She was on speaker so Aquiles and Glorio heard this.

Luis asked JC for a loan... to go into business with Aquiles and Glorio to make dinero that would help conquer Jezabel. JC looked like he wanted to roll his eyes.

Demon told the man he was meeting with he needed the documents to be ready “when she is no longer here.” The man left and Aurora arrived. Aurora and Demon talked. He was not taking this very seriously. [He was likely lying about the profit comparisons]. He asked why she isn't focusing on the search for her son... or her marriage.

JC told Luis he did not understand this obsession with Jezabel and told him he should look for a girlfriend his own age. JC was willing to lend him money for a business, a vacation, or things he needed since getting out of the coma. He said that the obsession will pass once he knew who Jezabel really is.

Aurora said that once she finds Gabriel all this will be his as it passed to her and Jezabel from their father. Demon said he was protecting his inheritance... from a phantom? She turned this back on him by asking that since he is about to marry why doesn't he take the regional position and concentrate on his wife. She smiled and wished him a good day as she left his office.

Edgar was sitting in a club with a drink as Tete studied photos of Jezabel, saying to them “I don't understand the obsession with you but you better not make my son suffer.”

Antonio showed text messages between Rocha and Jezabel to Elvia, who said it wasn't easy to get the context. He said this wasn't a friendly one. It had to do with the hospital information. She said to leave this to her as he and Aurora had been so obsessed that they had forgotten how to love. She apologized for saying something unprofessional. He was not offended. Beso, por fin. [Somehow I don't think Helena or Briana will like this].

I am really starting to like Tete now.

Since we have been privy to no conversations about Aquiles and Glorio wanting to start a business, we can't assume that Luis isn't lying to JC.

Patricia is a total idiot for approaching Pintas and asking him anything. She had to have seen him playing with the knife in front of Jezabel, who is now attacking JC on two fronts: Luis and Aurora.

    Poor Rolando.

Just a heads-up that I need to re-watch today's for details that went by too fast so the recap may take until tomorrow night.

Thanks for the great recap Urban. What a cruel thing the writers did. Poor Rolando is right. Why reform Mario and have he and Rolando have a great relationship only to have the kid lose his dad. Jezabel and Pintas are playing with fire, one is bound to decide to get rid of the other. I’m glad Pascual turned down the house, hopefully he knows not to trust Demon. I’m getting ready to watch yesterday’s show. I think I’m going to be behind until after Christmas!

    Part 1 of 3

Mario's funeral took place. Rolando leaned over the casket, crying and vocalizing his pain as he remembered recent times.

Elvira seemed to regret having crossed the line from professional to personal. Antonio did not have a problem with this.

One of Tete's girls brought a drunken Edgar to her office. He told Tete that Jezabel had ditched him. Tete was not taking this lying down. Before passing out Edgar asked Cassandra's forgiveness.

Aquiles, Glorio, and Luis hugged the crying Rolando. Helena brought flowers and told Maggie to call her if she needed anything. Maggie handed a letter from Mario to Rolando telling him how much he loved him. It was read aloud mostly in Mario's voice as we see him writing it. Rolando's vision failed him before he got to the end. He called to his mother for help.

At home Aurora told the others she was talking about the legacy. Jezabel asked what's the hurry. JC mentioned Antonio's call about the funeral so Aurora wanted to go. Demon insisted upon going and left the room. When she went to get her purse Jezabel tried to convince JC that this was about Antonio trying to get her back. She called their love story ridiculous and laughed. JC told Jezabel he trusted Aurora completely. Right after they were out the door Jezabel said to herself “I will see you go mad, Julio Cesar, Littlt by little.”

Rolando's doctor looked at him, saying this problem could be neurological. Angel and the guys saw him home. Briana looked as though she had just sucked a lemon at the sight of Angel and Helena exchanging a few words.

Vampi and Huevo barged into Pintas' hovel and accused him of the murder. He was drunk because he admitted having done it.

Aline, Jezabel gloated over the five calls from Edgar she had ignored. Carmela entered to tell her that Patricia was there. Patricia entered and asked about Pintas [She is either foolhardy, stupid, or both].

Aurora and JC gave their condolences to Maggie, as did Antonio who entered behind them... with Elvia, who did not go unnoticed by Aurora.

Patricia told Jezabel she had seen her in the cafe with him and that she saw the money. At Jezabel's question she first saw Pintas in Angel's nabe near the Santos family. She was sure Jezabel was hiding something, adding where Fabrizio had seen him and what Pintas said. Jezabel told her never to repeat this because Demon's life depended on it. She said Pintas was blackmailing them and had threatened to kill everyone who lived in the mansion. Patricia didn't buy this until Jezabel included her on the hit list.

    Part 2 of 3

Aquiles, Luis, and Glorio spoke to Rolando who had gone to bed. He dreamed of Mario touching him from the Great Beyond.

Jezabel told Patricia that Pintas was very dangerous. She made up a tale of Demon finding out something and Fabrizio trying to get this under control. She called Pintas a devil. When she told her to shut up for her own life it looked and sounded like a threat.

Everyone else was still in church. Helena told Demon she wanted to live with him. He looked happy.

The Santos family ate at home. Vicki told Angel about the house [He looked like he needed the vomitorium].

Helena went to the Campero mansion with Aurora who told her about Gabriel. Also that she did not want to see her marry Demon.

Angel was not in favor of accepting the house, saying that Demon was playing with them [and who would know better?].

Aurora asked Helena if she was sure she loved Demon. She said Yes. Aurora looked at her in disbelief.

Angel and his parents discussed this. All were sure that Pintas had killed Mario and Vicki was concerned about their safety.

Demon went to see Antonio to dig up dirt about Angel and trash-talk him, as well as to get Antonio to invest in a project. Antonio turned it down.

Simon and the other guy were painting a wall [It looks like they obliterated the mural]. They, Palmiro, and Angel spoke of helping Rolando.

Demon did not like this and left on a sour note. Elvia saw him as he was trash-talking Angel.

Briana sneaked up behind Angel, covering his eyes. He told her “We have to talk.”

    Part 3 of 3

.Vicki and some female neighbors talked about cooking for and collecting money to help Rolando and Maggie. Pascual came out saying they needed to get the city to put more cameras oh the streets.

Angel confessed to Briana he could not forget Helena. He denied that Helena had pursued him [At least he had not boinked Briana]. She walked off in a pity party state.

Antonio explained to Elvia about Aurora, Jezabel, and Miguel and the sibling rivalry it caused. She concluded that this had led to the current situation. She also invited him to go to lunch with her so that Aurora would be jealous of her(self).

JC and Cassandra talked in the cafĂȘ. Patricia tried calling Cassandra who did not answer, but then she saw her at the table with JC.

Jezabel came on to Luis and gave him an expensive watch. She put it on his wrist and told him not to tell anyone. Edgar entered and Jezabel told him that Luis was going to take his place. She asked Briana for Angel's address, who left the office and ended up crying on Edgar's shoulder about nobody loving her.

Patricia told Helena that Edgar was Briana's half-brother. She tried to convince Helena she had changed. Angel came in to talk to Helena. Patricia apologized to Angel for everything she had ever said to or about him. He and Helena exchanged expressions of disbelief.

Aurora addressed a board meeting. JC supported her. Jezabel agreed with him. Demon laughed and tried to leave the room with Edgar following. Aurora stopped them and announced that her shares were going to go to Gabriel. Antonio smiled quietly to himself.

  17. Thanks Urban, another great recap. I hope Rolando’s vision will be ok. The funeral, and Roland’s reaction were so sad.
On a happier note, Angel broke up with Briana and Antonio won’t be fooled by Demon. Also Angel and Pascual both know Demon is not acting out of a kind heart.
Jezabel seems to be trying to get JC on two counts, making him suspect Aurora and Antonio, and also through Luis. I hope he doesn’t end up like Fabrizio. Although I can’t see Aurora divorcing him and she’s supposed to end up with Antonio.

Jezabel is relentless in her hatred of Aurora and anyone else who fails to cave to her demands. It could come to a situation where her patience wears out in her mental torture of JC and she will pay Pintas to kill him. These two are equal in their total lack of humanity.

I think her ultimate goal is to drive A
urora to suicide, which Angel's death would accomplish. The one thing preventing that for now is that she doesn't know that he is Gabriel. We still don't know who his biological father is or the exact means leading to the negative DNA test that led Antonio to leave Aurora at the altar.

Pintas wants to believe that Angel is his spawn but I still hold out hope that Antonio is his father. However, this has other implications. We have more than enough episodes left to deal with that.

  19. Angel/Aurora. Excellent recap, Urban! Dang! Given that El Morro is in that coffin and about to be buried, I guess that he's really dead. The funeral scene was very moving, and it looks as if the guys at the business will take over and be substitute fathers for Rolas. Jezabel still wants to kill Angel? Yuck!
