Yep, Ibo, as many of us suspected, is the child raper. Please, writers, let Ilyas find out.
Speaking of Ilyas, it looks like they might be hinting at Bedri being his spawn. That would make two rotten apples falling from his genealogical tree.
I am starting to tire of all the bad omens and dark stuff. December is dark enough as it is. The Nedret/Hulya cage fight shows some promise, but they just keep exchanging punches with no winner in sight.
Well, Hulya's biggest fear was Aslan finding out what Ibo arranged for Leyla in prison. I'd like to hope for dire consequences for Hulya, but it never seems to happen.

I’m really, really tired of Leyla being in prison. She doesn’t deserve any of this.
Devin confronts Hulya about her having gotten Nese accused of being involved in money laundering. She tells her that the fight has just begun. Hulya has awakened a serpent, no…two (Leyla and Devin). She also says that Leyla is an angel compared to Devin herself.
Aslan, looking murderous, calls Ibo to invite him to a family dinner. He tells the Three Amigos (Iskoc, Eko, and Turgut) that there’ll be a last dinner with Ibo.
We see Aslan making a table (presumably to replace the one he burned). [Are those tattoos Kivanc’s or fakes for this role?]
Devin tells Aslan she assumes he knows about Hulya’s latest foul trick. He replies that the plan is Ibo’s. He goes on to say it will be Ibo’s last dinner.
Hulya greets Ibo at the door, and he hands over the check Cihan gave him (endorsed??), smiles smugly, and says he has kept his promise. She won’t lose her home; they’ll rebuild it in the same place together. He gets a hug for this.
Aslan tells Devin he doesn’t want the children to join them for dinner. He looks at her a bit coldly and says that they won’t involve themselves with the other’s family from now on.
Aslan makes a speech. The old table is broken. He’s made a new one. Blah Blah Blah. {K. you’ve given us all permission to use that!!!] He has everyone raise their glass to toast the family. Ibo’s large thug brings his diabetic kit to the table. [While good for the plot, it’s odd that a diabetic would inject at the dining table.]
We get a flashback to Turgut showing Aslan a photo and saying they’re sure Serap switched out his injecting kit. Aslan talks about greed and betrayal never being permitted at this table.
Ibo looks worse and worse, while Aslan toasts to Leyla’s return. Ibo goes down. The rest gather around, panicking, while Aslan calmly continues eating. Devin looks at Aslan’s stony face when everyone rushes out. Alone, Aslan palms the hypodermic with a napkin. Hulya accuses him of killing Ibo.
At a restaurant Serap is gloating about Ibo’s diabetic coma to Cihan. Aslan comes in and shows the photo of Serap that he says shows her changing Ibo’s meds. He says he watched Ibo inject himself without moving because he needed him to die so Leyla could get out of prison. He says Serap will convince Melek to change her story about Leyla’s stabbing her. And, if that doesn’t happen, the police will get the evidence, and Serap will be arrested.
Serap, smiling like the psycho she is, says that he has no evidence. He gives her two days. Then he tells Cihan that, if Leyla is important to him, he needs to show whether his sister matters to him or this crazy lawyer.

Bedri brings tea to Nedret. He tells her Hulya accused Aslan of killing his uncle. He asks her about Ilyas. She finds out he met with Ilyas. We see the rest of Bedri’s scene with Ilyas, Cihan, and Serap. He’s arrogant and challenges Ilyas. He calls him old man and almost spits in his eye. [Looks like the ones here who thought Bedri not all bad may have been right.] Nedret is furious about his going to see Ilyas and calls him an idiot.
Cihan tells Serap she needs to go see Melek and fix it or she’s alone in this.
Devin hustles the kids out of Revenge House. We see that Leyla is writing something when the guard comes in to tell her she’s out of solitary.
Iskoc tells Aslan that the Russians are offering four times the amount it’s worth for a hotel at the marina. They’ll be able to pay the whole fine. Cagri tells Aslan the recording of Ibo saying he’d gotten the drugs into Leyla won’t work.
Aslan finds out Devin took the kids, and they argue over the phone. Devin tells Yagmur that she’s saving the kids from being poisoned in that environment. Yagmur says she hopes Devin realizes she’s entering a war.
Aslan has arranged for breakfast to be served at the hospital with Hulya, Nedret, Bedri, Ceylan and Seher in attendance. Aslan makes another speech. He says that Ibo is already dead to him. But now there are two family rules: 1. There’ll be food in the house of the dead. And 2. The family gets together at the table and says what needs to be said there. [Aslan, your mother is a monster; this BS isn’t fixing anything.] He goes on to say that Ibo made a deal with Ilyas, and then he incriminated Leyla.
Devin has brought the kids to see Ezgi, her psychiatrist friend. Ilkay sits down with her while they're with Ezgi. He starts in on she’d be better off in England. She’s as cold as ice and leaves him there.
Nedret warns Bedri’s thug, who’s driven her, to keep his mouth shut. She’s come to see Ilyas.
Ezgi gives a report to Devin about how damaged the kids are. Ezgi says it’s too much, considering what shape Devin herself is in. Devin insists she can’t stand by and watch the children be destroyed.
A doctor gives Hulya the bad news. They don’t know when or if Ibo will come out of the coma. And he has severely damaged internal organs. [Am I sad? Nope.]
Kiymet asks Nedret what she’s doing there. Ilyas comes through the back yard singing some song that seems to be significant. Nedret turns and looks him in the eye.
Some flunky tells Hulya about Devin taking the children. She says that she’ll act in 24 hours.

ReplyDeleteLooks like Ana has syphilis. Elisa has sent her to wait with Roberto ( who is receiving chemo in the hospital) so she and Fernanda can talk. Roberto is looking rather green about the gills and wants Ana to be quiet ( but I think she is still drugged too so she keeps talking ).
Eugenio had some sort of cardiac episode. (Can we assume Fernanda somehow caused it? It happened at Adelberto's house so she gets a pass on this attempt on his life)) He is in the hospital with Adelberto in attendance.
It's the medical mystery episode! Now Tania is at a medical place, the hospital too? She doesn't need the Dr for an abortion but wants to make Alonso a eunuch perhaps. I'm not sure what she asked the Dr for, but castrating him would certainly be ok in my book.
And now Gabriel is going to a physiatrist. Is he at the same hospital? His impotence is likely due to a psychological reason.
Fernanda can certainly spin a poor me take. And Elisa is falling for her lies just like Francisco. Speaking of Frank, he's talking with Marcelo and Fermin about her. Francisco wants them to hear her story straight from the horses mouth and make their own deductions about her.
Alfredo is asking Patricia about Claudia. Pati just wants Fern's clothes and to service him, but he isn't in the mood ( is impotence contagious). She says Erika and Fermin have put Claudia in a hospital and are paying the bills. Alfredo seems concerned. I've forgotten, dies Claudia know something about him he'd rather not get out. Did she overheard him and Gabriel discuss the hit on Brenda's brothers?
Brenda and her mom have a few scenes. Brenda does not want to travel at this time. They need to keep an eye on dad. Brenda wants to go back to work in their family construction business.
The Dr Tania has spoken to agrees to help her. Alonso definitely deserves what is going to be done. But she, the Dr,is risking a lot and will need a lot of money for the risk. Tania is going to help her keep her office open ( a private office, not in the hospital like everyone else today)
Ana does have syphilis and she also has drugs in her system she tells Elisa and Ana. ( So now Elisa is going to buy Fernanda's story for sure).
Ana back at home gives Elisa the packet of drugs she found in her room. She took 2 pills. She has no idea how they got there, but Fernanda was in her room before she spoke to Ana the other day so she believes it was Fern that put them there. Elisa doesn't believe her. I think she told Ana she will have her blood checked again in 3 days to see if she is clean. Ana says if Elisa puts her in a clinic again she will kill herself.

Ah, so it was the hypodermic needle that Aslan carefully palmed with a napkin. I saw him do it, but I didn't know what it was that he had taken. I hope his doing this will ultimately prove useful. (Of course, there's also the possibility that having the hypodermic in his possession could make it seem as if he was guilty of killing Ibo.)
I had wondered how Bedri found where Ilyas was hiding, but in this episode I think it became clear that Ilyas had invited Bedri. Or am I mistaken? In any event, I'm still not sure what I think of Bedri.
I was relieved to see that Cihan really does care about Leyla more than what he may feel for Serap.
Ah, they now live in "Revenge House," I love your name for it.
I don't understand what the Russians are doing in this dizi. Why are they willing to pay four times the value in order to buy a hotel on the marina?
One more question. Aslan says the first of his two rules is "There’ll be food in the house of the dead." What does that mean?
Venganza #44 part 2
ReplyDeleteGabriel tells Alonso he is going to live his life in peace and harmony from now on. Alonso is the cause of his dysfunction ( I figured that out a long time ago). From now on any insults Alonso throws his way will go in one ear and out the other.
Mirna tells Fern about Eugenio's heart attack. She could care less, he is dead to her.
Pati is playing mistress of the house at the dinner table. I'm not a fan of her and the scenes she is in, but this one made me chuckle.
Eugenio needs surgery but he doesn't want it. Adelberto says if it were me, I'd have it.
The first supper en famille was a flop. Pati's cooking skills were awful. I thought she had the new maid do the cooking, but I guess it was chef Pati....she promises it will be better tomorrow. Alonso is ordering a pizza.
Fernanda is spinning her tale to the 3 amigos. Ana calls Francisco who ignores the call and she leaves him a voicemail.
Roberto is pretty sick after the chemo and Elisa is tending him. He is milking it to win her back.
Tania has Alonso at her apartment and they are making out. I think her plan is to drug him or something, but this episode doesn't reveal her plan.
Fernanda gets the results of the DNA test.

Ibo can't die yet. I want him to live to see his sex abuse of a minor explode in his face. He was such a fool sitting at the table listening to Aslan speechify about betrayal not realizing he was in the hot seat.
Ilyas singing? I didn't expect that.
I got a kick out of Ilyas asking Bedri his age, with Bedri not answering.
Wondering if Serap's fingerprints are on Ibo's syringe.

Juanita, Cihan told Bedri to come if he didn’t want to be the #2 to Aslan. "There’ll be food in the house of the dead." Better translated as “food is brought to the house of a dead person”. It’s proper to bring food to the family of the deceased.

They cut an Asuman – Turgut scene! Aslan tells Turgut they are having breakfast at the hospital. Turgut wonders, what breakfast? Aslan doesn’t explain. Asuman comes rushing out of the house to Turgut. She’s sorry there wasn’t time to talk after the tragic events—geçmiş olsun. She says she prepared some breakfast items and asks, are we taking them to the hospital? Turgut is short with her. What hospital? What breakfast? Asuman replies, I don’t know. Aslan bey asked for it and we prepared it. Aren’t you hungry? He rudely barks, thanks, I won’t eat! And he walks away. She says to herself, I’ll eat you for a while, let’s see how long it will take to break you.
I won’t be able to watch tonight’s show right away. I can do some sort of recap but it won’t be up until Sunday.

Great point you made about Tania hiring someone to whack him in the nuts. Would that achieve the objective though?
So far Alonso seems to be STD free so his cunadas and Tania should be safe. Thankfully he hasn't resorted to incest with Ana, though it would be justice for him to get a horrible STD or AIDS....

ReplyDeleteNovelera, thank you for recapping during the holidays! I agree with you- Hulya is a monster. Given the twists and turns of this story, she may end up winning our sympathy. Yusuf and Nedret teamed up on her, taking away Aslan...any idea why and for how long?
Aslan sure is multi talented. He cooks, cleans up after his mother-in-law, and now builds a table! How can Devin turn him away?
I think Turgut & crew could have put the poison in Ibo's insulin after filming Serap getting something in the trunk. It's a tricky
show!
Free Leyla now! Cihan gave Serap a wakeup; he'll choose saving Leyla over partnership with Serap. Yay!
I didn't realize Devin's father left them 25 years ago. Jeez, it's about time Nese got over that. She acts like it was a few years back.

ReplyDeleteAslan looks for Devin at the childrens’ therapy session and finds Ilkay instead. Seething Aslan holds Ilkay to account for collaborating with Hulya and trying to take Devin to England and bloodies his nose. An assistant sees and runs to inform Ezgi.
Nedret warns Ilyas to stay away from Bedri. She says don’t even speak his name. You brought him here from Adana, Ilyas replies, if your son wants to compete, he’ll have to pick a side. My son doesn’t need anyone, Nedret answers. The Soykans can’t be trusted, and you are not an ağa to be followed. Be careful, Ilyas warns, your son is brave, he has a lot of heart, just like me back in my crazy days.
The assistant breaks into Ezgi’s session with the children and tells her to come. Ezgi is shocked at what she sees. Devin follows. She sees Aslan and immediately knows what happened. The children show up. Zeynep worries, what happened? Devin tries to send them back to the room. Zeynep asks Uncle Aslan. He tells her nothing happened and that they will all leave now.
Nedret warns Ilyas again to stay away from Bedri. You’ll pay dearly if you don’t. I’m not afraid of paying dearly, Ilyas replies, I’ve paid the price for what I have lived and what I have caused. Nedret notes, but you’ve never completed any punishment. My father wouldn’t have only cut your face. He would have cut your vein. Nedret leaves. Ilyas grumbles, don’t forget me…I know you won’t.
Cihan catches Nedret as she leaves Ilyas. He welcomes her and kisses her hand. I’m here, but not welcome, she says. She warns him to stay away from Bedri. You can share a table with whomever you want, but don’t invite my son to sit at that table. If you respect me as you should, you’ll respect my wishes. Seni Allah’a emanet. She gets in her car.
Aslan and Devin go outside to talk. Aslan readily admits, I came to talk to you, but when I saw Ilkay, I calmly decided to hit him. You calmly hit Ilkay, she replies, you calmly decided to kill your uncle. He quickly responds, I didn’t kill anyone. Cihan and Serap are responsible.
Devin exclaims, but you knew! You knew your uncle set a trap for Leyla. You ate dessert while you watched him die! Is this how you plan to bring the family together? Kill them and bring them together in the afterlife? [they may or may not be going to the same place.] Aslan says he spoke with Ibo and warned him—I chose to watch him die.
Devin calls him crazy and says the children can’t stay with a family like his. [ITA] Aslan accuses her of kidnapping the kids. What if my mother shows up with the police? What rights do you have? It’s a crime! I’m caring for them, Devin replies, and look who’s talking! [she’s got him there.]
Aslan tells her that Yagmur called. She’s worried. Leyla asked you to do this but you’re not the kids’ guardian. Ah, you don’t know, Devin replies, Leyla made me her representative. It’s not just a promise. If your mother wants custody, she will have to face me in court. Aslan is stunned. What happens if you win? Devin says, the children and I will leave the house. I’m only looking after the kids’ wellbeing.
I’m their uncle, Aslan replies, their blood. I raised them in my own hands. If you want what’s best, come back to the house. I won’t let you take them. Are you going to ignore Leyla’s wishes, Devin asks. Aslan tries to stay calm. He says Leyla’s mentally unstable. Devin wonders if this is about keeping the kids in the house or about keeping her there.

ReplyDeleteThe argument escalates. Aslan shouts, can’t you see everything I do for my family every day? Can’t you see I’m trying to get Leyla out of prison? I want what’s best for the kids! If it were up to me, I’d be their mother and father! I’d die for them! He delivers a crushing blow—don’t you know what it means to be a mother?! At least he’s immediately sorry. Devin says he’s right. She turns to go inside. He keeps apologizing to no avail.
Seher is on her hands and knees, washing a rug. Asuman tries to get her to stop. She calls Nedret, your mother won’t stop cleaning. Gokce calls Hulya, too.
Aslan calls Leyla. She saw the news about Ibo. What happened? He’s dying, Aslan blurts, but that’s not important right now. He asks, is Devin in charge of the kids? She replies, of course, I won’t let mother corrupt them. Aslan can’t believe it. Your children are my family! They mean the world to me! If anyone touched a hair on their heads, I’d burn the world. You’re separating them from me. Leyla says, it’s not about you, it's about mom.
Once again, Aslan doesn’t know when to shut up and listen. What are you trying to do by putting Devin in charge? What if she can’t do it? Did you consider that? [I think Aslan just gave us a spoiler alert.] As for Melek, I’ll soon prove your innocence. You’ll be released. Leyla doubts that. She says she will need to win the custody battle. For that to happen, all Turkey needs to know that Hulya Soykan is a terrible mother. Aslan asks her not to do this. Wait for the trial. Going to the press is not good for anyone. Leyla blows up. I’m done with patience! I’m done being away from my children! She hangs up.
Cihan speaks with Ilyas… vay, vay, Nedret was here. It looks like the damage was big. What are you insinuating, Ilyas asks, do you think I’m afraid of Nedret? If she starts a fire, she’ll burn. That’s exactly what I mean, Cihan replies, I’m very sorry. This isn’t just about Bedri. You know what I mean. [ooh, does Cihan know something?] Ilyas warns, watch out. I’m not your backgammon partner. Call a friend if you want to chat, not me. Ilyas walks, Cihan smirks.
Seher’s cleaning mania continues as Nedret and Hulya arrive. Seher looks at both women. The house hasn’t been cleaned since you arrived, she says with scorn. Hulya gives Nedret a smug look. Seher continues, don’t bring bad luck into this house!
Nedret looks humiliated. But Seher throws her rag at Hulya and shouts, get out! Get out! Then she happily recognizes Nedret. Kızım? My moon face daughter! My beautiful little girl! Seher embraces Nedret! Hulya is stunned. Seher asks Nedret, has this snake hurt you? She turns to Hulya, what are you looking at? Pick up that rag. Make yourself useful.
Seher tells Nedret to go feed Aslan. Don’t leave him with this incompetent fool. She has no milk to offer him. Don’t worry, mother, Nedret replies, I’ll feed him. Hulya walks away, sniveling. She touches her necklace. [I’d like to know what’s so special about that necklace.] Note that Ceylan has been present the entire time.
The three musketeers are driving. Eko is nervous. His mom is coming, and they will ask for Elif’s hand tonight. Isko asks him if he’s sure about Elif because he might still be thinking about Yagmur. Eko says that Yagmur is also getting married. It’s over. We should both move on. Isko is surprised. Eko says Aslan won’t be with him when they ask.

ReplyDeleteDevin brings the kids to visit Leyla. Leyla tries to be positive about Uncle Ibo. She senses that Kaya isn’t well. Devin checks, he doesn’t feel warm to her. Devin wants a minute to talk to Leyla alone. She tells Leyla that she took the kids to her apartment. She had no choice.
Leyla is good with it, and she thanks her. I’ll send a letter through my new lawyer, she says, so you can use it in the custody case. It explains what was done to me. Aslan doesn’t want me to go public, but I’ll do it so I can win custody. She adds, I don’t want you and Aslan to argue, I don’t want to burden you with something you can’t handle. So the choice is yours. Devin nods.
Serap has called Cihan to her office. He wonders why. She closes the blinds. He jokes, you still think I betrayed you? You’re going to try to kill me again? Are you going to run through the goodbye monologue? There’s not much left to talk about, she replies. She straddles him on the chair.
Hoppa! Cihan wasn’t expecting this. Serap turns on a projector. We see Ibo in the ICU. Are we going to watch a movie, Cihan asks. She kisses him and he sees the projection over her shoulder. He stops her. What’s this? It’s just a human in pain, she replies. Cihan is floored.
Aslan arrives at the Marina. Eko tells him Bedri’s been with the Russians on a boat and he’s making a scene. He’s hosting a party. They are waiting for you.
Aslan and crew go to the boat. They are greeted by Bedri with a bottle of vodka. I got them everything they like, come up! Aslan comes aboard. Bedri offers him a shot of vodka. You’d burn faster if you drank gasoline, Aslan replies. What’s with the attitude, Bedri asks, we are working on a deal.
One Russian tells Aslan in English that they like Bedri. He’s a funny guy. Convo continues in English. Yes, Aslan agrees, he is THE funny guy. Bedri interjects, don’t forget, funny is money, king! Funny is money! The Russians laugh. Aslan says if they’ve had enough fun, it’s time to have the meeting. The Russians don’t look in a hurry. Bedri pops up and says it’s time for more fun. Let’s do some gymnastics! Bedri has hired girls for the party. Aslan is not pleased.
Have you gone crazy, Cihan asks Serap. I’m as I should be, she replies. He looks horrified. What’s wrong, she asks. We should be honest. Was I too honest? She gets off him and he shuts the projector. There are treatments for people like you, he says, I suggest therapy.
Serap goes to the door. I need love, not therapy, she replies. Just a little bit of love. I see I won’t get it from you. Get out. He tries to reason but she shouts—Get out! He tells her, you know you can get better, don’t you? There’s a cure for this. She’s shaking. She slams the door after he leaves. She’s a real basket case.
Seher has moved on to washing dishes. Nedret begs her to stop and let her take over. Hulya enters the kitchen with an envelope. Mother, I have something to tell you. I found this in Nedret’s room. It came from her boyfriend, Faisal. Seher reads and crumples the letter. Nedret! What is written here? Have you been wagging your tail at Faisal?
Nedret vehemently denies this. She turns to Hulya, what’s this got to do with Faisal, you rat? Seher cries out, did you show your private parts to that man? Nedret denies it once again. Seher loses it. Shameless! You whore! She raises her hand and Nedret grabs it. Flashback—Seher slaps Nedret and spits on her.
Don’t hit me mother, Nedret says, I won’t let you do it this time. She leaves the kitchen. Seher calls out, do you want to shame me in front of everyone in Adana? Smug Hulya steps in, come mother, I’ll take you to your room. Ceylan is there to witness this too. She’s amazed.

ReplyDeleteThe Russians are having fun. Bedri says they postponed the meeting until tomorrow. This is how things are done where he’s from. Aslan is ticked—I told you not to meddle. Bedri doesn’t see the problem. Get me the contract, I’ll have them sign it. You’re not touching the contract, Aslan replies. You’re the buffoon who got them whores while they drink. Aslan walks away. Bedri says, I’ll show you who the buffoon is here. Just wait.
Aslan conspires to move the meeting time with the Russians so Bedri won’t be there. He asks for an update on Ibo. He’s getting worse. Aslan says, may God not make him suffer any longer. I have nothing else to ask for him. Amen, Isko replies.
Aslan calls Serap. Time is running out. Get Leyla out of prison, or I’ll send you to prison.
Serap is with Ibo’s big thug. Looks like he’s watching his grandkids at the playground. She comments, there’s nothing like grandkids. They are so sweet! They have their whole lives ahead of them. If you make the right choice, they will have better days. All you have to do is say I had a meeting with Ibrahim. The guy just looks at her. No matter to her. She places an envelope stuffed with money on the bench and leaves. Guy looks at the envelope and then at the kids.
Turns out Leyla was right. Kaya has a fever.
Eko and “family” are at Elif’s house. It’s just his mother, Turgut and Isko for him. Slight edit. Elif serves coffee. Eko’s coffee is not salted. His mother asks Iskender (our Iskoç) to start. The reason for our visit is obvious. With your permission, these two met, and reached an understanding. Now it’s up to us.
Another edit—Turgut sips his coffee, it’s salted! He chokes! It stops the proceedings. Turgut says it’s okay, he’s just emotional. Please continue. He whispers in Eko’s ear, you’re lucky, I got the salty coffee.
Isko continues, by Allah’s command and with the Prophet’s word, we ask your daughter, Elif, for our son, Ekrem. If you allow it. The elder in Elif’s family answers. Elif is our only daughter. Our precious flower. I’d love her to be blessed. But I’d like to ask my daughter if she will consent. Elif, what do you say?
Eko asks to say something before Elif answers. I want Elif to be my family, if she will allow. I promise I will never make her suffer. If she sheds a tear, it won’t be my doing. Elif is asked again, do you consent? After a few tense seconds, she gives her consent. Hayirli olsun. God bless you with good fortune. Eko doesn’t look very happy.
Devin tries to get Kaya’s fever down. Nothing is working. She finally decides to take Kaya to the hospital, but her car is blocked in the parking space. Cue Aslan arrival. Devin wants to go to her father’s hospital.
Ergun treats Kaya. Aslan comforts Zeynep. Devin is overwhelmed. I’d never hurt him, she quietly says. She gets teary and repeats herself. Aslan tells her, you didn’t do anything. She thinks this is her fault. Aslan assures her that Kaya will get treatment and be fine. Devin tells him that Leyla thought Kaya was sick, but she didn’t pick up on it. Aslan manages to calm her down.

ReplyDeleteEko gets a call while he’s washing up. There’s info on Burak, the guy Yagmur is supposedly marrying. Burak is happily married and has a baby. He’s not dating Yagmur. It’s just a professional relationship. Eko is stunned. He looks at the engagement ring and ribbon on his finger.
Aslan, Zeynep and Devin wait for Kaya in the hall. Ergun comes out. It’s nothing serious, Kaya will be okay. He gives Devin some meds for Kaya. He asks her, did you give him any medication? She shoots back, I’m not a child anymore! I’d never put him in danger! Ergun says, I just asked… Devin shuts him down—you’re wrong!
Aslan steps in. She said she didn’t give him anything. Thanks for your help. Ergun asks Devin, are you looking after these children? Yes, what about it, Devin replies. Don’t regress to your childhood days, he tells her. If you can’t think of yourself, think of the children. She snaps back, thanks for making me regret asking you for help Dad.
Devin takes the kids to the car and Aslan stays behind to speak with Ergun. Devin found herself in trouble and decided to call you. She called and came. She’s learned not to rely on you. So why are you doing this? Why do you pressure her?
Do you love my daughter, Ergun asks. Aslan replies, I love her more than my life. What’s the point? Don’t let her carry this burden on her own, Ergun answers. She had a difficult childhood. She suffered enough. Who ruined your daughter’s childhood, Aslan asks. Ergun says, I only left the house. I didn’t cut my wrists in front of an 8 year old… like her mother.
And we are out.

I was on the fence about Bedri, but now I'm done done done with him.
Poor Ilkay may have suffered a bit from Aslan managing not to lose his temper with Bedri. But Ilkay had the nerve to conspire with Hulya, so I actually enjoyed Aslan going off on him.
Run Elif run. I sure hope Elif is the one to break this engagement. Eko is too bound now to do it.
Cihan, there's little honor in working with Ilyas crew for your revenge plan. For pete's sake, do something for Leyla.

So much about this dizi continues to puzzle me. For example, Nedret tells Ilyas, "you’ve never completed any punishment. My father wouldn’t have only cut your face. He would have cut your vein." I have no idea what she is referring to. Am I missing something obvious, or is this a reference to something we don't yet know about?
Leyla tells Aslan she saw the news about Ibo. Is Ibo enough of an Important Person to have television coverage? And even if he is so important, I don't recall seeing TV cameras anywhere near him.
I actually applauded when Leyla quite rightly tells the incredibly self-centered Aslan "it’s not about you, it's about mom."
I was surprised when Hulya was stunned at Seher's favoring Nedret over her. Haven't we seen all along that Seher snarls at Hulya?
Also, I found the flashback to Seher telling Nedret, not Hulya, to feed the baby Aslan somewhat confusing. Haven't the other flashbacks we've seen shown Nedret in disgrace?
Why am I not surprised to learn that Nese slits her wrist in front of her children? As far as I can tell, Nese is seriously manic-depressive and probably has been for much of her life. But surely Ergun's behavior with her very likely made her condition even worse. How Devin and Yagmur have turned out as well as they have is amazing.

I'm ready to be all in for Nedret. Really liking the actor probably contributes. But where are they going with Yusuf punishing Hulya by giving Aslan into Nedret's care? What I remember of the flashback from Aslan's infancy made it seem as if Nedret enjoyed Hulya's being deprived of her child. This puts shade on my wanting Nedret to be the worthy victim

Aslan is definitely a flawed galán. Why on earth, knowing what he does about Hulya, would he object to Devin taking the kids away from her influence?
I remember, dondi, your saying at the beginning that you really liked the Cihan actor (maybe having seen him in another role). I agree, and I hate that he's working with Ilyas and Serap, and I keep hoping he's a mole.
Speaking of Serap, not every sexually abused child turns into a monster like Serap.
What I thought about Seher ordering Hulya to clean something was that it was part of her dementia. I suspect Hulya might have begun as a servant.
Also intrigued by the necklace. Hulya was distraught when she thought she'd lost it, and Ibo gave it back to her.
Ay, Eko! The fact that you bought Yagmur's trick with her mother's ring shouldn't cause you to enter a loveless marriage. What a pickle he's in, and of his own making.

Leyla and Devin think the paper Leyla signed gives Devin some legal rights to the kids. But what extreme will Hulya go to? Thankfully Ibo is out of commission right now and can't help her.

Juanita, the Soykans are a famous (or infamous) family. Ibo’s situation probably was an item on the news. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone at the hospital leaked it to the press.
“…Hulya was stunned at Seher's favoring Nedret over her.” I enjoyed that scene. Seher forgot Nedret’s fall from grace. Until her fall, I think that Seher would favor her daughter over her DIL.
Hulya is truly evil. She manufactured that letter to turn Seher against Nedret again. Ceylan was impressed.
