07/02 Juan Querendon
Juan is dropping Paula off at her casa. She asks him if there is something wrong with the car. He says no, why does she ask? She says because Pastor gave her a message for him. He asked for Juan to drop her off and immediately head back to the office to take the car to the shop. He is confused. She says maybe something is wrong with the car that he has not noticed. She thanks him for the ride and tells him not to forget what Pastor said about the car. He tells her not to worry.
Pastor is having an argument with the CL's driver. I am not sure what they are arguing about. If anyone can shed some light on their conversation, I'd really, really appreciate it. :)
Juan arrives back at Casa Cachon. Marely is leaving to go to the university to go turn in some work. She compliments his shoes, however she says she prefers his boots. He offers to take her. She says she does not know how long she will be and he assures her that he is not in any hurry. She agrees to let him take her. Meanwhile, Mama is watching from the upstairs bedroom.
Pastor is waiting for Juan back at the office wondering where he is. Ivonne says maybe he forgot. P says he reminded him a hundred times and even sent the message with Paula. Ivonne asks if he wants her optimistic or pessimistic opinion. He says optimistic so maybe that will calm is nerves. She replies that perhaps he is stuck in traffic. Pastor asks her to call Paula's house.
Juan and Marely arrive at the university. He asks her if she wants some company so she will not have to be alone. She says she does not know him that well and he says that he would like for them to get to know eachother better so she can have a better attitude towards him. She smiles and agrees.
Ivonne telephones Paula asking about Juan. Paula tells her that Juan dropped her off more than an hour ago and that she did remind him about Pastor's message. Ivonne gives Pastor her pessimistic version, that he has been stood up. Pastor is visibily upset and he will not be made a fool of. And that Juan does not know who he is dealing with.
Ivonne tells Pastor to calm down. Pastor is bemoaning his fate and feeling heartbroken. He says he is always being taken advantage of. He says he helped him out, gave him a job.
Paula and her mom are talking about Juan and Pastor. She is telling her mom that Juan and Pastor are "friends." Paula is complaining about Pastor and how disagreeable he is. She goes on to say that Juan is a good person and possesses a lot of good qualities. Her mom waxes philosophical and says that there are still good people in the world.
Ivonne is trying to school Pastor in the art of seduction. She is telling him to take his time and don't be so rushed and to quit being so smothering. He is asking her if CL took his time with her and didn't pressure her. She says he did and conducted himself with tact. She tells him to not be so forward. She tells him that she is only trying to help him and telling him those things as a friend. He invites her to a movie, a silent film that is four hours long. She says yes, anything to help a co-worker.
Juan and Marely are talking. He invites her out for dinner, she declines and says they can eat at home. Juan is telling her that they can go where she likes. She tells him to not try so hard to be nice to her. He said he feels like he has to try hard with her because ever since he arrived, she has hated him. She says, correction, she does not hate anybody. She says that he used to get on her nerves, which is different than hate. She invites him out for tacos. He wants to thank him for the ride.
Back at the casa, everyone is waiting for Juan and Marely, well mostly Juan. Yadira complains that she is starving. Yadira speculates that perhaps Juan and Marely are having a romance. Her mother tells her not to say such things and that is so not possible. Enrique says that Juan does comment often on Marely's loveliness. Mama looks unhappy to hear that...
Juan and Marely are eating their tacos. He is watching her intently, saying every move she makes is wonderul, etc. They then start talkign about his job. She asks if he can help her get a job there.
Ana has a box that Perafan sent. They are talking about Samuel's belongings that are still in his office. Her friend tells her she should go look at the stuff and see what Samuel has there and that maybe there is something for her.
Juan tells Marely that she is too young to have a job, she should focus on school. She says that she wants to work and will look somewhere else. She tells him that it is really important to her to work and begs him to help her. He looks at her and says with those eyes, how can he say no. He agrees to help her. She says she was mistaken about him...
At casa Cachon, mama is relieved that they are back. Marely thanks him for the fun night and to not forget about the job. Juan is checking her out as she is floating up the stairs. He is obviously smitten.
Juan walks into his bedroom and who should be in his bed?? None other than Yadira! He says "not you too!" There is definitely some weird hormonal surge in that house...
Labels: Juan
Enrique makes Yadira swear that she will never reveal what he is about to tell her...Juan likes boiling soda, he eats rice with a straw, he puts water inside his canoe, HE LIKES MEN! (I'm not sure I got those slang phrases right.)
Juan is at the shoe store with Pastor. Pastor is buying Juan a pair of tasteful loafers which Juan hates. Suddenly something catches Juan's eye. Is it a beautiful woman? We follow his gaze to pair of black snakeskin cowboy boots. They remind him of the movie "La Muerte de un Gallero." and Vicente Fernandez.(NOTE: I checked the IMDB and Vicente Fernandez wasn't in this movie.) Juan tenderly kisses the boots. but Pastor says "only in your dreams."
The new shoes hurt Juan's feet and he limps through the mall. As he feared in a previous episode, Pastor wants to take Juan to a salon for a haircut. Juan wants none of it, his hair is his identity.
A slimy guy named Gutierrez is in Perafan's office. Perafan gives him Samuel's original will and tells him to forge a change according to his instructions.
Yadira tells Nidia the chisme on Juan. Nidia can't believe this about her "Chomi", he's too virile, too manly.
Enrique and Yadira have a fight because she told her mama the gossip after promising Enrique she'd keep her lip zipped.
Perafan gets into Samuel's wall safe and removes what appears to be a checkbook. He tells it that his Nidita is going to marry him. The fortune that she wants so much is in his hands.
Pastor tells Juan that he is going to take him to the movies that night. Juan looks sick.
Rosario (Ana's pal who works with Perafan) asks Perafan about the important documents in Sam's wall safe, shouldn't they look at them? They might contain something that could help Ana. Perafan acts like he doesn't know the combo so there's nada he can do.
When Paula comes down to the garage to be driven home she comments on Juan's new shoes. She likes them but she prefers his boots. Juan moons over her and says to himself it's proof she like the real Juan. He silently waxes eloquent about her many virtues.
Pastor tells Ivonne that he saw Cesar at lunch and he treated Paula like a queen. Then he tells her he has a date with Juan that night.
It appears that Perafan is at the bank and they have cut him a big gigantic check, presumably from Samuel's account. He thought bubbles that this is the first of many checks and soon he will be a millionaire. If I were the bank manager sitting in front of him I would be seriously concerned about the lascivious face the Perafan makes over this check. Commercial lead-in: Perafan counts a big wad of bills.
Cesar Luis asks Pastor how long he has known Juan and is he trustworthy (discreet?). CL says he wants to talk to Juan in the morning. Pastor doesn't look happy about this request.
That's it for the first half. I was absolutely clueless about the conversation between Pastor and Fernandez so I can't help you out there.
Pastor and Fernando seemed to be arguing about Juan, but it wasn't clear exactly why, except it had to do with CL, too. I remember wondering if Fernando has a thing for Ivonne and that's part of it. But, who knows?
I like Juan's boots better than the loafers, and I wish Pastor would get the message. I doubt it, though.
