El Mundo de Telemundo: Week of November 22

¡Hola a todos! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As you know, Jean will be gone for a few weeks. This means that discussions of Los Exitoso$ Gomez and El Fantasma de Elena are up to you for now.
Thanks to everyone for all the great comments in this space. And a particular shout-out to Blusamurai for coming up with the idea for this discussion in the first place and for providing several mini-recaps of her favorite shows.
By the way, Telemundo is starting to run occasional promos for La Reina del Sur, a new novela based on the novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte. They say it is coming in 2011, and that Kate del Castillo has the title role. Today they showed Rafael Amaya, the murderous Julián in Alguien te Mira, in the role of El Güero.
Aurora
César’s planned kidnapping of Blanca is a disaster: Snow White and the Three Stooges. She escapes with her life but some innocent bystanders may not have been so lucky. Suspicion falls on César.
Aurora and Lorenzo show by deeds, if not by words, that they care about one another. She calls him, instinctively, when she is in trouble. And he rushes to her side without a thought for his own safety.
Vanesa is a more complicated villain than we thought. She reaches into her own pockets to help los Ponce de León with the ransom money to save Blanca’s life. She is still the only one outside the inner circle who knows that Aurora is… well… Aurora. And she continues to play puppetmaster for most of the characters who dance as she pulls the strings.
Natalia, in contrast, becomes more and more repugnant. She is filled with vindictiveness: it spills out in the look of pleasure that crosses her face when she hears that Aurora’s life is in danger and in her defense of César’s indefensible conduct.
Icky Federico continues to court Natalia according to Vanesa’s instructions. Meanwhile, it has become apparent that Natalia and Gustavo have a history together.
To keep her from stepping into the moral abyss of incest, Aurora at last tells Blanca that Martín is her brother:
Hay algo muy importante que tienes que saber y no me puedo morir con este secreto. No puedes tener una relación con Martín.(There is something very important you have to know and I can’t die with this secret. You can’t have a relationship with Martín.)
Blanca: ¿Porque tú lo quieres?(Because you love him?)
Aurora: No, ¡porque Martín es tu hermano!(No, because Martín is your brother!)
Blanca and Vicki are both interested in César. He likes Blanca. It looks like a set-up for a repetition of the Aurora-Vanesa-Lorenzo triangle.
Vanesa makes yet another play for Lorenzo and once again is rejected.
When Gustavo learns that Martín is Lorenzo’s son, he fires him.
Inés is ever more fragile and unstable. Even so, Aurora refuses to forgive her for her past transgressions.
Lorenzo asks Martín to stay in the family apartment with Nina while he and Natalia are in Madrid. (Lorenzo knows nothing about Nina’s obsession with her stepbrother or how she seduced him at the graduation party. But Natalia knows perfectly well that Nina is in love with Martín.)
Lorenzo acknowledges to Martín that he has fallen in love with the new Aurora.
Note: Friday’s show is worth watching if you are late in coming to this novela or have missed an episode or two. It’s a nice summary of main events up to now.
Alguien te Mira
Yes, Julián is the serial killer. NJ Sue, I think you were the first one to call it. And Vivi in DC picked up on Julián’s traumatic history before the writers made it explicit. Nicely done, ladies!
Julían tells Eva that he was 18 when he killed for the first time. And he hints that the victim was his own mother. He rejects Eva’s plea that he spare her because of her daughter. She sent her daughter away, he tells her. And he didn’t come looking for Eva – it was she who came after him.
And after these revelations, he pulls her towards him. In that instant, all our hopes for Eva's escape vanish. Julián stabs Eva to death. And then he lies beside her bloody corpse and admires his handiwork.
Mercifully, Eva's last thoughts are of her daughter. She visualizes her as a young lady. The last word in her mind: Gracias.
Julián has appeared distracted lately; he seems to be having a hard time keeping up his “normal” life. Everyone chalks up his odd behavior to his concern about Eva. His distraction is largely calculated: it is perhaps how he imagines an ordinary person would act under the circumstances. But every now and then, the mask slips and his friends look at him curiously. Even Piedad seems to be wondering at times but still appears inclined to trust him.
Matilde may still be in love with Mauricio in spite of his voyeurism. It seems pretty clear that he really loves her.
Luisa Carvajal has shown herself to be a true friend to Eva by insisting that the police pursue aggressively the investigation of her disappearance. She also kept Mauricio’s sex tapes away from the male detectives.
Benja continues pursuing Camila. She claims to be trying to distance herself from him, but in Friday’s episode, the two end up in bed together. Meanwhile the relationship between Benja and Tati is strained to the breaking point. And Lucía is the first person to tell Tati to her face that Benja has been unfaithful to her.
Rodrigo goes to a group session at a rehab center; he remains dubious but now at least he has taken the first step.
Pedro Pablo and Lola demand a DNA test but Luci la Loca says she’s within her rights to refuse such an invasive procedure during the pregnancy. They’ll have to wait nine months. Lola is falling apart. At work at Tatiana’s place, she can’t stop crying.
Other developments in Friday’s episode:
Tire track evidence links Benja to Eva’s disappearance. When he is called in for questioning, he admits to Carvajal that Tati’s alibi for the morning Eva disappeared was false.
Someone mails a photo to Rodrigo. It shows him and Benja at the site where they dug up the heart, the precise site where Eva went missing. It could only have been taken by the murderer.
Matilde is shocked by how callously Julián speaks about Eva when her fate is still unknown and he is supposedly in love with her.
Pedro Pablo caves in to Lucía’s threat to tell her story to the press. He give her back her job at the clinic so she doesn’t drag their name through the mud.
And finally, and most horribly, a group of young cyclists finds Eva’s body in the park. It is set out in an elaborate display, covered in white petals and surrounded by blood-red rose petals.
Julián feigns grief as he announces to his colleagues: Eva está muerta.

Thank heavens for reviews! I was getting so lost and always behind. I'm so grateful to you, NM, and to the Aurora watchers who, like Brusa, comment. Thanks for such a terrific recap, NovelaMaven. Somehow I missed Julian's killing Eva with a knife. (I don't know why but I thought it was with an injection). I guess I had my eyes half-shut because I didn't want to see it actually happen. That is one of the things I like about this script --that it is not predictable. Because Eva was such an important character, I just didn't think she would get killed. In a conventional story, she would have escaped and brought Julian down.
The other thing I thought was "terrific" (actually horrifying) was how her body was discovered. I remembered Julian telling her that he wasn't going to take her heart out and was going to do something "special." When the closeup came, I was so shocked that I literally gasped. The image of her dead body surrounded by flowers in a park on a sunny day was dramatic, shocking, and moving, and such a comment on crazy Julian. I am really impressed with the actor playing Julian. As you pointed out in your recap, the way he is losing it and going in and out --sometimes his "usual" self and then his crazy self coming to the fore.
I wonder whether he really does love Piedad --as much as someone that crazy could love anyone. And I really hope we're eventaully going to find out about his relationship with Matilde and the reason for their divorce.
I think I said this before, but I really like that now that we know "whodunnit" there is a lot to find out about the why, and how the plot will continue to unfold.

On Alguien, it was very chilling that Julian killed Eva. NJ Sue, you didn't really miss it, because they didn't really "show" it - we just saw his hand swoop in and a sound. At least that was the first time they showed it. I think the second time they made it a little more explicit and we saw the knife and blood in his hand. Julian sure did a good job of cleaning everything up, though, and must have spent a lot of time setting up the body (at night?) to be discovered. As for whether he loves Piedad, he seems to love all the women - but he's loves killing them MORE.
Benjamin is such a dope. He receives that photo in the mail, and once again, he'll probably hide it from the police, because he thinks it inculpates him. But it's actually GOOD for him. He and Rodrigo seem to know the killer took the picture, so give it to Carvajal, and Rodrigo and Benja will be in the clear. That would leave Julian, right? Somehow, I don't think it'll be that easy.

As for Fantasma, I just loved the scene where 1) Elena is running through the forest (there seem to be forests next to gas stations as well as next to sanitariums) 2) Kalima goes to kill her with a knife, but 3) she elbows him so well she can escape, but 4) she immediately falls in quicksand, and Kalima starts with his native chanting to let her die, but 5) Montecristo arrives and pulls Elena out, but 6) Montecristo and Kalima fight and 7) Kalima falls in the quicksand, and 8) bye bye Kalima!
I also love how easy it is for Dulce to outwit the nurses, time after time, dressing up as one of them, always claiming to be "the new girl", and of course they let her in with Dario. I also like how fast she whipped up a legal document for Dario to sign, when she's not a lawyer, and really wouldn't have any idea of how to do that.
But Fantasma is now in últimas semanas! If this were Univision, that would mean 7 more weeks. Not sure if Telemundo is the same. Finally some punishment for Dulce, La Gemela and Montecristo (although they have had their setbacks). I can see why actors like playing bad guys. Dulce and Gemela get to smile and gloat almost the whole show (until the end), while people like Elena are forever crying, in a coma, running, amnesiac, etc.

en serio, Hombre?? I did not know Fantasma was in ultimas semanas. how lovely!! i was wondering what else could happen, now that they know the baby is Elena's, that Michel is adopted, etc. I really love Telemundo novelas... not much room for more tonterias. and like I've said in the past, the villains don't get their way through the very end (i.e. Andrea's brother died within the first 2weeks if i recall).

NovelaMaven- You rock! Thank you so much for continuing solo with the recaps this week. And thanks as well to Blu for the mimi recaps during the week.
I was shocked when Julian killed Eva, but even more sad for her poor little daughter. I thought seeing her final thoughts picturing her daughter years in the future on her wedding day was very touching.
NJSue- I'm impressed with the Julian actor, as you are. Will Matilde and Piedad start to pay attention to those red flag comments Julian keeps making? If it was Mauricio making these comments, Matilde's alarms would have gone off a long time. But because she trusts Julian so completely, these moments give her pause, but don't seem to arouse suspicion.
Benja and Rodrigo need to stop being dummies about this and come clean with the cops. The problem is that Julian knows him too well and knows how they will react to each of his traps.
The set up of Eva's body looks like it will be a clue to Julian, from the previews. Looks like he used his mom's clothes and pearls. Hmmm....

I hoped that I was wrong, that somehow she was still alive. Eva seemed so strong and smart and her police training would have prepared her to fight assailants larger and stronger than herself. She seemed like a long, lean panther coiled and ready to spring into an attack. But the attack (against Julián) never came.
Her murder was a terrible and shocking scene -- almost unwatchable. And so were the scenes that preceded it. If the writers are willing to kill off a strong and popular character like Eva, well, all bets are off.
I'm not sure that Julián is capable of loving any woman, including Piedad. I can see him courting her, winning her over and then condemning her for her pregnancy by Rodrigo.
Vivi, I think you're right about the dress and jewelry leading back to Julián. The question is: will there be more victims first?

NovelaMaven thank you for the shout out i kept wondering why so many of us who spoke how much we like the novelas on Telemundo why no one didn't come up with my suggestion before i did. NovelaMaven i think there will be more victims because right now the lie Rodrigo and Benja are telling is what is causing the confusion and making the cops suspect them as being the killer. If they would just come clean then the cops could narrow it down to Julian.Beside i think we still a lot more novelas left.

On Fantasma de Elena Elena slips in the quicksand as Kalima goes into chant mode trying to make her slip under faster? Montecristo comes upon them and fights with Kalima as Kalima ends up in the quicksand instead. Elena is saved by Montecristo again. Kalima vows to Montecristo he won't get away with betraying him.

NovelaMaven, I sure hope more than two of us are watching Aurora. Need your reviews, but so enjoy comments of others when we get them. Perhaps others, as I am, are discouraged by an Aurora out for vengence. Where are our heroines? Maybe this is going to be like Donde Esta Elisa and not have any. Lois and NovelaMaven- I watch Aurora too. It's winning out over Eva Luna for me right now. The whole kidnap/fire/rescue scenes were really exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat.
I too hope that Aurora snaps out of this revenge mode, or at least stops taking Vanessa's word on everything as the gospel. She needs to start suspecting Vanessa of her b.s. She should be able to see how much Lorenzo loves/loved Aurora 1.0., and that he would do anything for Aurora 2.0 for that very reason. I mean, running into a burning building? That's not what a bad guy would do. Plus, does she already know that Nina is not Lorenzo's bilogical child? Meaning that Natalia was NOT with Lorenzo at the time they were supposedly a couple and playing Aurora for a fool. Think Aurora, think!
I wonder how she will explain to Blanca that she and Martin are brother and sister. It was funny when Blanca and Vicky drew the possible family tree leading to her and Martin being siblings. They had every type of formation, except the correct one, of course. I wish she would just tell Blanca the whole truth. It's hurting Aurora more than anything else to not be able to tell Blanca she is her mother. It was a bit heartbreaking when Aurora had guns pulled on her by the cops who were trying to rescue Blanca and kept screaming that she's the mother. The cops must have been like, "que?" You're the same age as the victim. But Aurora was so afraid and freaked out that "her baby" was going to get hurt.

On Fantasma de Elena Dr. Tabia tells Eduardo that Andrea reaction to her transplant operation has gone well but he informs Eduardo who ask after his brother Dario that he suffered a couple of heart attacks he's in serious condition.
Milady runs into Michel at the hospital and he tells her excited trying to kiss her about them not being brother and sister by blood but Milady insist she knows this also and that he keep his promise to marry Andrea. Michel wants to marry Milady but she won't hear it and tells him the only one he'll be marrying is only Andrea she leaves a confused Michel in her wake.
Eduardo visits Dario as he struggles to ask his brother to watch after his son. Eduardo assures him not to worry about his son he'll always take care of him.Dario ask after Andrea as Eduardo tells him that he saved his daughter.

Montecristo makes a deal with the head of the mafia for his and Elena's protection from the police and Eduardo as he's given instructions to get himself a lawyer and everything. The head of the mafia ask Montecristo to bring Elena to entertain some of his male guest, of course old evil Montecristo doesn't have a problem complying with this request.
Andrea visits Dario with Rebecca who leaves them alone to having a loving heartfelt reconciliation.Dario declares to his daughter that he will recover.

A driver rides down the road and a zombie looking Kalima ask for a Dr.but the driver is frighten off. Someone needs to tell Montecristo that stealing the woman's new born child and then kidnapping her and telling her he would make his high class call girl is not part of 101 ways to court the woman you love.
Dulce tries to get Ruth to sign some more papers as Ruth tells Dulce she needs to sit at her desk. Ruth pulls out a big butcher knife on Dulce and starts to list her years of crimes.Dulce overconfident tells her she doesn't have any proof to what she is claiming but Ruth tells Dulce she will get locked up as crazy gemela comes out pulling her gun on Ruth.

She has flashbacks of Lucia taunting her Benja being faithful and Rodrigo telling her she doesn't have any clue of understanding her own husband.
Luisa packs up Eva's belongings and breaks down crying as Amador comes in to resign he finally admits he's the one who fed Mauricio the inside info but he did for his son who has dyslexia that's why he did it he needed money so badly to help him.Luisa blames Amador for Eva's death saying if she wasn't suspended maybe she would still be here. She tells Amador to take back his gun and badge and help her capture the killer.
Julian comes out of his bedroom sees the food and note Piedad left for him.Rodrigo stupidly goes to him for advice as he tells Julian that he and Benja where at the place where Eva was taken but lied to the police because they were scared callously Julian tells him that it's their problem not his.
Pedro Pablo explains to Lola why he is giving Loca Lucia her job back because she won't just take money.Lola wants to go see her but is warned by Pedro Pablo to stay away from since she is unstable and armed and dangerous.
Lola takes out her small case of jewels.
Amador meets with Maurico lawyer and tells him to relay a message to his client never to bother him again since he's already being labeled a traitor for his actions.

Amador told Mauricio's lawyer that Eva was killed as Mauricio gets out of jail he vows he won't stop until he finds Eva's killer to his lawyer. He later visits Matilde giving her back her sex tape that he didn't give to the police. Matilde has a fit and tells him to never bother her again she wants to forget she ever met him. you can tell her words hurt Mauricio who does seem like he fell in love with her he agrees to her wishes and tells her to do whatever she wants with her tape.
Tatiana sees Benja wince from the hug their daughter gives him and ask he why? Benja lies about it. Tatiana later tells Camila she now knows Benja is cheating on her with his lover she has proof. Camila tries to fish around for what Tatiana knows when Lola comes in and Tatiana tells her why she is upset.Naturally she looks at Camila with accusing and suspicious eyes.
Luisa finds Amador hasn't gone home going over a lot of evidence to find Eva's killer.She tells him to go home and get ready for Eva's funeral.
Luisa goes over this info with Angel hoping it will lead to the killer they do know that he has probably killed way before his killing spree he has had recently.
Julian remembers his mother jewelry as he looks at it as a little boy his mother catches him and puts on the song Julian plays when he murders women. Julian runs into the corner and hide but his mother finds him and pulls him out to sit him on the bed. I don't know if they're implying incest or what but it's very creepy. Julian is woken up from reverie as Piedad comes to go with him to Eva's funeral.He tells her he wants her as she says she wants him very much too. He hugs her close to him.
Camila and Lola exchange words.Tatiana made a flippant comment to Benja as he read the paper how Eva's death is effecting their clinic because the cops suspect some of them. Tatiana then says something about having morals which angers Benja he almost tells her off but is stop by their children showing up.
Everyone who is a suspect or knows one of the suspects show up for Eva's funeral with the police. Eva's daughter is given the flag from her mothers coffin as she cries in her fathers arms. Mauricio shows up by himself and Julian puts on a show he's going after him for Eva's murder as he is held back.

Blu- Thanks for the mini recaps. I love that Luisa in hot on the trail of the killer now. Yes, I think incest was implied there. The ourfit that his mom was wearing- black dress and pearls, is what Julian put on Eva post-murder.
I don't think Peidad and Julian were saying they "want" each other. They were saying they love each other (te quiero), but not as powerful/clear as saying "te amo" which is explicity romantic love. He clearly meant romantic love, or whatever sick love he is capable of. But Piedad was only speaking of the love you have for a close friend or family member.
I hope Mauricio can get his vouyerism under control and win Matilde back. He really does love her.

I've been watching AURORA and EL FANTASMA DE ELENA from the start and while I'm enjoying the first I am disappointed with the latter.
AURORA has the novelty advantages of a science fiction and mystery spin and New York City, but while Jorge Luis Pila is a decent actor I can't buy him as the father of Eugenio Siller (especially the "mature" version of him). I guess they couldn't get Guy Ecker because he's in EVA LUNA (which I have a few beefs about). I am getting weary of Gustavo's irrational attitude toward Lorenzo and Martin, especially since Aurora needs all the protectors she can get at this point. I am also uncomfortable with the fact that he doesn't seem bothered by Elizabeth having committed murder even if to protect the secret.
EL FANTASMA DE ELENA started out really well, like another version of REBECCA (du Maurier's) with some genuine supernatural stuff. It sounded like the Giron males were all werewolves or something, but the writers seem to have dropped that altogether. Now it's falling into boilerplate novela story elements which are fine when you expect them, but I was expecting something different this time. I guess doing a novela al aire has its disadvantages.

For Lois and other Aurora fans: the highlights (or lowlights) of Monday's episode:
-Aurora tells Blanca that Lorenzo is her father and Inés is her mother. Inés backs up the story and finally Blanca believes it.
-Dr. Gustavo threatens to ruin Martín if he doesn’t stay away from Blanca. Nina blurts out spitefully that Aurora is the one Martín is in love with.
-Natalia finally realizes that Nina shouldn’t be lusting after Martín and says Nina will have to come to Madrid.
-Icky Federico reveals he knows some secret of Vanesa’s past and is using that knowledge to manipulate her.
-Blanca tells Martín she no longer has romantic feelings for him but she really likes him as a friend. The feeling is mutual.
-Vanesa reveals to Aurora that she knows she is the congelada. She shows her the video of the great thaw. Aurora confirms that it’s true that Lorenzo is Blanca’s father; but she denies that she herself is Blanca’s mother.
-Dra Elizabeth makes a not-so-veiled threat to Gustavo that she’ll kill Natalia if he gets involved with her.
-César confesses to Natalia that he kidnapped Blanca and he deserves to go back to prison. Natalia wants to protect him.
-Blanca sees César for the first time after her kidnapping. They hug. He looks tortured. She looks confused.
-The currently unemployed Martín shows up at the dance studio and all the girls drool over him. There is a daring product placement: Subway now makes breakfasts! And Eugenio is apparently the Latino answer to Jared!

Thanks NovelaMaven for the Aurora run down. The last scene is of Blanca and Cesar hanging out in his room on his bed, watching tv. She is talking about how her kidnappers treated her, and one in particular (ahem). She is interrupted by breaking news on the tv before she can tell Cesar (who's looks like he's walking on broken glass, he's so on edge) her impression of the kidnapper. They state on the news that one of Blanca's kidnappers has been found and arrested. A big oh crap moment for Cesar who better pray this guy doesn't talk. End of episode.
I am sure Blanca herself will see that tell-tale back tatoo before the cops catch on though. What she'll do with that knowledge is anyone's guess. I hope they get in a few smooches first though. :)

Nina is just creepy in her obsession for her step brother Martin. How many people can tell you, and how many times can you hear, that what you feel is just wrong, wrong, wrong? And yet she keeps telling anyone who will listen about it, as if she's just talking about some classmate she has a crush on. Yuck! I hope someone does tell Lorenzo. Maybe he can knock some sense into her.
Are we to assume that Nina is Gustavo's child, since he and Nat seem to have "history"? That would make Nina and Aurora sisters, and make Nina Blanca's aunt. As if the family ties in this novela couldn't get more convoluted! :) And we still have no clue who Martin's mom is. And then the writers could always throw in more family drama by bringing in Cesar's blood parents. Yikes!

Despite the uniqueness of the story, AURORA still manages to include most of the Great Novela Cliches. All the lies being told, the controlling parents, the ex-con who can't reform, the convoluted family ties, and the revenge theme will lead to an impressive body count before this is over.
Does anyone else think this one could end up with a bittersweet ending rather than a happy one?

Urban anthropologist, I agree that Aurora could turn out to be rather darker than we imagined. These Telemundo novelas are, in a way, breaking new ground. They do use standard telenovela elements but they don't follow all the rules. They aren't necessarily morality plays where, even if there are a certain number of innocents sacrificed, good triumphs. (Good cannot possibly triumph in Alguien, for example, even if evil is eventually halted.)
One thing I particularly appreciate about the Telemundo genre -- if we can call it that -- is the more naturalistic style of acting. If I want operatic, I can go to the opera. (Well, not always. Sometimes a good, old-fashioned overly made-up, absurdly overacted bodice-ripper is just what I yearn for. How nice that we have a choice!)

On Alguien, I previously said that maybe Rodrigo can redeem himself by stopping the killer from killing Piedad. Similarly, maybe Mauricio could redeem himself by stopping the killer from killing Matilde. But watching Julian "cry" for Eva is so maddening, when we know he's such a twisted and cold person. And I don't care if there was something weird with his mother - this is not the way to make things right!
What happen early on Fantasma de Elena was on the day of his wedding to Elena Calcano, Eduardo was called to the stables to help deliver a colt. You could tell by his brides reaction she wasn't happy.She was ranting and raving from embarrassment.We saw a twin fall from the top of the house's roof to her death which one? Everyone assumed it was Elena Calcano because she was in her wedding dress.
We are introduced to the characters Dario is Eduardo's brother and seems like the caretaker of things. He is married to Rebecca who is definitely high maintenance and a real b*tch on wheels. She is the mother of his two children Benjamin a (Adam Lambert knockoff look alike goth figure and first class weirdo)and the unseen Andrea. There happens to be a strong dislike between their two children because Benjamin mentioned it.
Corrina is Rebecca's younger sister and another high maintenance b*tch it's the way she acts. Both are very rich and it is implied that Eduardo has been with both sisters too. She is obsessed with Eduardo.
Latona the twins nanny who we discover later is actually their mother who she gave up for adoption to Eduardo's parents.
Jesusa,Samuel and their daughter Milady are the help at the Giron's mansion.
Elena Lafe is a young girl who is a only child on the verge of marrying a man she doesn't really love.
Tomas is her father and who married Mariela Elena's stepmother. Both dote on Elena who is a accomplished horsewoman and has won many competitions.
Laura is Elena Lafe's bestfriend and like a sister to her she is very intelligent more so sometimes than her bestfriend is.
Daniela Calcano is Elena Calcano twin everyone accuse her of being crazy but despite that Eduardo was having sex with her too and she got pregnant.She was even pregnant during the time Eduardo was marrying her sister.
Montecristo is the bastard child of Eduardo's father never really recognized like his other two sons. He carries resentment and a lot of hatred in him especially for Eduardo. Kalima who seems to have raised Montecristo is his caretaker and does a lot of killing for Montecristo.
Det. Martin and Gandica, he the det. investigating the women that Eduardo's been involved with a lot of have either been murdered or turned up missing or moved away. They all have been rich.

One person did see who might have killed Elena Calcano that day but he has gone blind is Samuel the gardener and Milady's father and husband to Jesusa he tells Padre Aquas what he thinks he saw.
Daniela has gone and at first missing they then have her locked up because she has gone off the deep end. She is then thought to have died after escaping the mental facility run by Dr. Rolando.
Latona steals Elena Calcano body from her grave and outs in the dungeons of the hacienda that has long since been forgotten.

Before Nena and Anacleto had the seance with Corrina on the beach in a couple of hilarious events.Nena tells Corrina she has to go to Elena Calcano's grave and get some dirt to protect herself from Elena Calcano's evil spirit.Nena who is in a wheelchair and says she can't walk runs when the cops show up with Anacleto to get out of there leaving Corrina behind to be caught. She is arrested by the cops and Rebecca has to get her out of jail. Rebecca tells Corrina she is crazy and she needs to leave becaue her obsession for Eduardo has gotten out of hand.Corrina later ask Nena and Anacleto to perform a exocism to get rid of Elena Calcano's ghost.Benjamin sees this and is angered by them what he views as mocking Elena Calcano's memory.The ghost of Elena Calcano appears as Nena gets up out of her wheelchair and runs with Anacleto who both see the ghost with Corrina.
Elena Lafe is pushed down the stairs by Elena Calcano's ghost she loses the baby.Elena tells Eduardo and Laura it was Elena Calcano's ghost.

Tomas and Mariela decide to go home before going home Margot gave Mariela the will but Tomas changes his mind and they go to a hotel instead.The doll that Elena Lafe has been carrying around i suspect has the final will Margot had drawn up. I believe Mariela put it there for safe keeping.
The night if the fire, Dulce is showing her son pictures of the night they had the party with Margot and her family her son tells her that Rebecca is the other woman in the car who had run him over. With revenge on her mind Dulce tells Dario who tries to calm her down and find a solution to this but a enraged Dulce won't listen to him.

NovelaMaven, I like some of Telemundo's stories but sometimes their actors don't speak clearly. This isn't a problem in AURORA, but MAS SABE EL DIABLO was a problem for me and I didn't stick with it.
I've stuck with EL FANTASMA DE ELENA because of the actors.
On another note, I've been reading the synopses of MI PECADO and someone made a comment about priests resigning the priesthood. Telemundo did that in GITANAS in 2005. Excellent novela.

On another note, I've been reading the synopses of MI PECADO and someone made a comment about priests resigning the priesthood. Telemundo did that in GITANAS in 2005. Excellent novela.
Laura comes across Elena Calcano's ghost it's a woman who has been drugged up by Benjamin he's put some type of make up to make her look like Elena Calcano as Benjamin closes in on Laura she fights for her life she hits him with a rock and stabs him in his leg, she hits him again with the rock and knocks him out and runs to find away to get out of the dungeons.Benjamin had a secret door in his bedroom that gave him easy access to the dungeons.
Eduardo wakes up and smells the fire he gets up Elena Lafe and tells her to leave as Eduardo gets up Dario and Rebecca.He then gets Corrina as Walter gets Andrea out.
Elena Lafe sees Latona knocked out and takes her out of the burning house.
Samuel is out cold as Jesusa and Milady cry that he's still inside the burning house.Elena Lafe decides to go back in to save him as Montecristo sees the burning house he runs up and Milady tells him Elena went inside to get her father.
Tomas and Mariela hear about the fire and go to get Elena.
Montecristo finds Elena passed out by Samuel he saves her instead.
Tomas and Mariela arrive and go in to save Elena, something blows and sends Mariela across the room and Tomas is thrown but not that far.
Benjamin wakes up and goes after Laura he finds his fake Elena Calcano and tries to get her to wake up as the fire reaches the dungeons it's heading towards them both.
Crazy Daniela sits up front by the gates in a daze over what she has done.

The funeral, Dulce tells the cops that Rebecca was the other woman in the hit and run concerning her son.
As Samuel,Benjamin,Margot and Mariela are laid to rest the cops come to arrest Rebecca for her part in the hit and run of Dulce's son.
Rebecca and Vicki are sentenced to prison.
Tomas is in a coma for almost a year.
Elena reconciles with Eduardo and rebuilds the hacienda.
Daniela turns out to be Elena Calcano and she supposedly rehabilitates herself with the help of Dr. Rolando and ten other incompetent Drs. who declare her sane.
Rebecca and Vicki have a hard time adjusting to prison life as Chapparro makes their life difficult as the sadistic prison guard with a mysterious past.
Dulce has connections on the inside she pays off a harden prisoner she reminds me of Miss Piggy to try and get rid of both Vicki and Rebecca. They are assaulted and tortured mentally with no help from anyone.
Laura is alive she really tries to put behind her the bad ordeal she suffered at Benjamin's hands.Don't ask me how she got out of the dungeon they didn't show that so i don't even know.
Corrina learns that Nena and Anacleto are scam artist and fake.
Rebecca and Vicki fear for their lives as Chapparro makes it clear that no one will save them.
Andrea tells Elena her concerns with her mother as Elena tries to get help for Rebecca for Andrea's sake.
Andrea flirts with Walter and makes it known how much she likes him. Walter has serious misgivings from his background to how young Andrea is but he doesn't like seeing her with Michel.
Michel sees Milady it's like love at first sight is very smitten with her.Over time he will learn that she works for the Girons but none of that matters to him.
Rebecca decides since Dario is making it impossible for her to get good legal counsel to get out of here much less speak to her own daughter or Elena she decides to cut a deal with Miss Piggy and Chapparro to save her and Vicki.

Dario,Dulce and Tulio plot to steal Elena inheritance away from her.
Vicki and Rebecca escaped with the help from Chapparro and Miss Piggy, they stop a car guy driving a truck and he's killed by Miss Piggy.They're on the run as the cops are on the look out for them.They break into a store to get clothes.
Rebecca visits Tulio and demands he helped them or she will tell Elena everything including his part to help steal her inheritance.
Rebecca gets in contact with Corrina she is need of money to give to Chapparro and Miss Piggy who threaten to harm Andrea if she doesn't keep her word.
Corrina stupidly ask Dario to give her money to help out Rebecca as Dulce overhears this conversation.
Corrina makes it known to Walter that she wants him as Walter struggles with his desire for Andrea decides to accept Corrina.
While Milady is being romanced by Michel against his nosy interfering sister who is Andrea best friend.
Chapparro tells another guard about the scar on her stomach leading us to think she had a cesarean done long ago.
Rebecca contacts Corrina they agree to meet in the mall as Miss piggy warns her about double crossing her.Dulce calls the cops as martin and Gandica head there to capture the escaped convicts.
Crazy gemela gets out of the manicomo with a clean bill of health.Shocking the whole family when she shows up there. She says she's been declared sane and she is not Daniela but in fact Elena Calcano which means she is indeed married to Eduardo still.
Latona has been paralyzed from the push down the stairs from her crazy daughter not able to speak or walk.
Elena Lafe is upset with this new development and decides to leave and stay at her Margot's house until Eduardo fixes this confusing situation. Dulce and Dario have taken up house at Margot's.
Tomas has finally woken up and is told that Mariela died in the fire.
Vicki being held by Miss Piggy and Rebecca go to meet Corrina with the money at the mall. Walter goes with Corrina.

Montecristo and Dulce have been involved for a long time and have been to steal Margot's money from the beginning that's how Dulce got in to her house.
Crazy gemela is asked to leave the house but refuses and say the house is hers.She drugs Eduardo and calls over Elena Lafe who catches them together thinking they just had sex.Elena Lafe feels betrayed by Eduardo.
Crazy gemela makes nice with Andrea as for the others like Corrina she tells her if she doesn't like her being here she can leave since she is only a sister in law and the house is hers.Andrea goes with crazy gemela to the same mall her mother is meeting with her aunt unknowing.

On EFDE Ruth continues to get Dulce to talk about her crimes as bragging Dulce complies she realizes that Ruth has a cell phone and someone was listening to their conversation.Dulce threatens to cut Ruth with her knife as a worried crazy gemela runs in with her gun and the wine Ruth requested.Dulce wants Ruth to tell her who she had on the other line. Ruth proudly states the police as crazy gemela looks scared she whisper the police in a daze.
Milady is walking out as Clara waits for her she calls her over and ask if she can talk to Milady for a moment. She'll take her where ever she wants to go, but Milady tells her snidely that's not necessary since she doesn't believe they have anything to talk about again . Nor does she want anything to do with her. Clara ask her to please not say that does she have to beg her to talk to her for awhile.
Milady goes with her and sits with her in her car as she ask Clara what does she want now, what other lie is she trying to tell her this time.Clara tells her she knows that she is sad geez you think? But she is not here to tell her another lie so please allow her to say what she has to say to her.She just wants her to understand her. Milady sarcastically says i understand you too well. That you don't think i'm good enough to be with your son because of my background.How many times are you going to say this to me senora i may be poor but i'm not a fool. My goodness this actress is good i definitely want to see her star in her own novela.
Clara knows and says the Milady is innocent and a victim of her circumstances.But if you allow me i would like to make a pact with you to make up for what you have suffered.
Clara sickeningly tries to bribe Milady with going to university in Paris or to live wherever she wishes. She'll buy her new clothes,a place to stay she not have to worry about money at all.
Clara tells Milady where do want to go California,Boston tell me and i will make it happen for you.Milady says she can;t accept this as Clara tries to convince her what a great opportunity this is for her.Clara says she wants to make up for her suffering and that she is still young and beautiful she will meet another man. Michel walks through the hospital and runs into his sister Lucia, she wants to know if he told Andrea he doesn't want to marry her.What are you waiting for she ask him? Michel says that Andrea is dealing with a lot now from her surgery to her father who might be dying he can't do this to her now.Lucia says you have to tell her but Michel says he can't anyway Milady doesn't want to be with him. Lucia is shocked to hear this news, she can't believe it she'll go talk to her for him. But Michel tells her to wait are you doing this for mother? I know you plotted with her before to keep us apart but Lucia insist that this time that it's not true.
Lucia no all i want to do is help you, ok if that's true you'll be proving to me you want to help if you allow me to solve the problem i have with Andrea and Milady by myself.

We find out that Montecristo took Elena to a race track as she ask to go to the bathroom one of her male guards gets a female guard ton go with her.
Montecristo and his goons beat up a guy trying to get information out of the guy. The guy tells Montecristo he'll pay once the cops get a hold of him but Montecristo threatens the guys family including his two children.I think he telling the guy to do something to Eduardo's horse if he didn't do it today that his family would be killed.

Wow crazy gemela tells Dulce no more killing? As Dulce holds the butcher knife to Ruth's throat but Dulce wants her to die since she knows everything. Ruth tells them not only her now but the police as well this causes crazy gemela to panic and she runs out of the room with Dulce telling her not to leave.
Dulce goes back to finsih off Ruth she raises the knife to stab her as Ruth cringes but Martin and Gandica come in the nick of time to save her. She is told by Gandica gun pulled out to shoot to drop the knife.Martin demands that Dulce drop her knife she does this as Gandica grabs her and holds her.
Martin ask if Ruth is alright and she says yes as Martin tells Dulce she will spend the rest of her life in prison.
Crazy gemela escaped and she keeps looking to see if she was followed by the police as she stops at a light she goes through the things she threw all over in seat next to her.She finds among the clothes a lot of jewelry.
Martin tells Dulce she is being charged with Margot's murder, but Dulce arrogantly says you don't have any evidence to prove that and what you heard over the cell phone is not valid enough to convict her.
Martin burst her bubble and tells her that Dario confession will stand as Dulce shocked says he's lying anyway he kidnapped her son turning on Dario. But Martin say you don't say is little Eduardo really your son who are his real parents anyway? Wow i didn't see that coming as Dulce angrily says she never tell him that.

At the same time handcuffs are being put on Montecristo being charged with kidnapping Elena. He laughs and tells the cops that she is his wife so what's the problem. As Eduardo comes on the scene even Montecristo slick lawyer shows up to say the charges are absurd he didn't kidnapp his own wife and stupidly Elena says she is indeed Montecristo's wife to let him go.Eduardo says it a lie as the cop ask Elena is this true she declares herself Montecristo's wife and she is not being held against her will.
I don't know what this silly goose is thinking but c'mon can we trust someone who put herself in this situation when she married Montecristo to get back at what she thought was Eduardo cheating on her?

Milady and her date are stop by a jealous Michel wanting to know what she is doing with this jerk as Milady date tries to calm Michel down. Milady tells him that they are going out but Michel says he here to talk to her and she can't. Milady tells her date to wait for her as she talks to Michel for a moment. Michel wants to know if he's the reason why she doesn't want to be with him now.Milady tells him she doesn't blame him there are other things that are keeping them apart but it's best for him and his family that they aren't together.What about you ask Michel ? Milady looks away as she says it best for both of us it's not going to work you belong with Andrea and you promised to marry her so it's better that you keep that promise to her it's the best solution for both of us. As the car beeps waiting for her to come she walks away from a sad and confused Michel.He watches her drive off.

Pancho's nephew's name is Lazaro. He told a story how he was born dead, and some guys made a bet or something, but he then lived (liked Lazurus in the Bible, I guess).
The mafia guys told Montecristo the other day that he'd have to fix 3 horse races for them to go along with his plan with Elena. So that's why they went to the racetrack. The guy Montecristo threatened was either one of the jockeys or owners of a horse. He has to lose the race or else. This would be the first of Montecristo's 3 favors for the mob.
I was also shocked that Elena went along with Montecristo, but apparently there was a threat to immediately kill Eduardo right then, so she had to play along. Her message in the bathroom stall was very clever. Instead of calling for help, she wrote that she had a horse for sale, Gitano. Some girl saw this, and is going to tell her father she's interested. Somehow this should help Elena, although I have no idea how.

Martin looks at him with consternation like is this the only solution?

I have to go back when we first saw Pancho's nephew because while i forgot his name i believe it was a different actor and his name was different too i could be wrong but i'm sure the actor was different he had longer hair and seem taller than this one.

On Alguien Te Mira Julian puts on a show telling Mauricio he has no right to be here disgracing Eva's memory like this as Mauricio says he has just as much right as he does.
Rodrigo tells them both to knock it off because the way they're acting is upsetting Eva's daughter.
Lola meets with a guy to sell her jewelry, Pedro Pablo calls her wondering why she's not at the funeral for Julian's sake.She tells him she's busy at the office and will meet up with him later.
Mauricio pleads to Matilde to believe he's not the murderer and that he is in love with her just give him a opportunity.Matilde tells him no as Maurico goes to a devastated Luisa and tells her he will do his own investigation to find Eva's murderer.
Luisa says do what you want all she knows is the person who did this has mental problems and is very cruel but she will do all she can to get him.

Highlights from Tuesday’s AURORA:
Elizabeth and Vanesa catch Gustavo and Natalia smooching. The first two harpies use the info to punish and manipulate the third harpy and creepy old Gustavo. To wit:
-Vanesa tells Aurora that Natalia had an affair with Gustavo.
-Later, Elizabeth tells Aurora she saw Gustavo and Natalia kissing passionately. Two sources… hmm. Must be true.
-And then Aurora, obligingly, texts Lorenzo that Natalia has a lover with the initials GPL. Who’s GPL? Doh!!!
-Finally, Elizabeth shows up at Lorenzo’s dance studio to ask: Do you know what’s going on between Gustavo Ponce de León and Natalia?
Nina acts out her frustration by getting drunk and doing an impromptu striptease for three new amiguitos at a club on 47th St. Vicki calls Martín and he saves her from herself. And how does she thank him? By telling Lorenzo that she and Martín have already had sex. Lorenzo is of course furious and disgusted and won’t listen to Martín’s explanation. He throws him out of the house. And when Nina is sober enough to understand, he tells her she’s going to Spain with him and her mother.
Blanca sees the DVD of Aurora’s decongelación. Aurora tells her that the process failed and now Alpha-Aurora is really dead and buried. The capsule is empty. Blanca runs out of the apartment is distress.
Vanesa shows Gustavo a copy of that infamous DVD (how many copies did she make?) Now HE knows SHE knows. Vanesa would never do anything to hurt Aurora. Wait… She has an idea…
César’s less than professional abogada reassures him that the police caught the wrong guy. His actual accomplices are far away. And anyway, she has an airtight alibi for him. Now let’s get down to (real) business…
Gustavo uses surefire kryptonite to disarm Elizabeth: a diamond ring and a promise of marriage.
Martín is at the clinic to pick up his check. He meets Blanca and Aurora there and they want to help him.
At the Lobos apartment, César comes in at the tail end of Nina’s berrinche aimed at Lorenzo. He wants to know what’s going on. She tells him she doesn’t owe him any explanations. And if Martín is moving out, so is she!
Blanca and Aurora have come to the clinic to say a symbolic goodbye to the congelada at the supposedly empty capsule. Blanca admits that she used to fantasize that Alpha-Aurora was really her mother. Having a congelada for a mother would be enough to wreck anyone’s life, don’t you think? she asks … and then is embarrassed because Beta-Aurora’s mother IS the congelada!
For tomorrow: Aurora puts on her red dress (although we cannot see her high-heeled sneakers) and prepares to receive Martín and Lorenzo.

Only watching Alguien te Mira. I can't STAND Julián so Amaya must be doing a good job.
The one thing that's really off in this is the way Piedad just keeps ignoring Julián's obvious amorous intentions. She hugs him, comforts him, and spends the night at his apartment to console him for the "loss" of Eva.
This aspect of the novela doesn't work for me. I think I was 7 years old when I learned that it wasn't smart to encourage attentions from boys (later men) who were interested in me but for whom I felt only mild friendship. It's the kinder thing to do. I think all women can feel that kind of attraction coming from a guy. It's instinctive. Piedad has had to tell him a couple of times, early on, that all she could feel was friendship. But she keeps on spending an inordinate amount of time with him. Dumb!
At least Mathilde finally verbalized what we viewers have known since the first episode: Julián is obsessed and is NEVER going to give up trying to have a different sort of relationship with Piedad.

It's funny how whenever they want to show Julian as a nut, they have his hair parted just a little wrong, making him look a little nerdy or goofy, instead of his normal super handsome look.
I still think Rodrigo will have to be the one to stop Julian. Last night I thought I saw just an inkling of suspicion in his face when he was thinking about how that picture was taken, and thinking about Julian with Piedad.

The blonde's name is Valeria it's funny because i now remember i saw her in the name of novela with the same name on Univision in the afternoon.She is being chastised by her boss as the others leave the room she goes for a fix.
Piedad ask Lucia to tell her the truth is Pedro Pablo the father of her child as Lucia says yes.Piedad tells her that Pedro Pablo is married and she has to leave him alone it's only going to get worse. Lucia says her only concern is her child as Piedad tells her just concentrate on that and leave Pedro Pablo alone don't go near him and she'll support her.Lucia agrees as she doesn't want Lola anywhere near her at all.
Lola still enraged storms out of the clinic gets in her car and sits there and fantasizes about Lucia coming out of the clinic and she shoots her dead. She wakes up from her fantasy just sitting there looking toward the clinic.
Valeria models some more it seems the drugs has made her better model.
Benja makes plans to visit Camila.
As the group gathers for another drug confession Valeria is ask how she is doing as Rodrigo makes goo-goo eyes at his counselor.
Piedad tells the secretary to go home she'll close up she asks if everyone else has left. As she puts away files and turns off the lights Julian sneaks up behind her scaring her. He tells her he was alone thinking all day by himself and he doesn't want to be alone.
At the group meeting Valeria is ask to share her story but she can't because she feels guilty of falling off the wagon. Rodrigo struggles but tells the group a story of his.
Valeria is asked to stay behind to talk by the counselor after the group breaks up as she and Rodrigo discuss a poster he is looking at. Valeria leaves before talking to their counselor who is then asked out by Rodrigo to talk some things over. He tells her that Valeria is using again she asks how does he know. Rodrigo says he just does, he says he wants to get clean for his child.
Julian and Piedad go to a restaurant he sees Rodrigo with the counselor first but doesn't say anything to Piedad. As Piedad finally sees them together she ask Julian ho is that with Rodrigo.

On EFDE Montecristo drags out Elena against her will to go meet up with Eduardo.
Eduardo bonds with his son as Leonor watches he tells her he is meeting up with Montecristo to negotiate Elena's release Leonor doesn't think that's a good deal and since everyone knows what a low life Montecristo is and he can't be trusted.
Gandica tries to get Dulce to tell her relationship with Montecristo she wants to know if he is her accomplice in her crimes.Dulce denies this and denies everything she is being accused of. But Gandica tells her not to worry she'll spend many years behind bars for her misdeeds and she can can have a reunion with a old buddy of her Butterfly (aka Miss Piggy). Dulce does look like she is happy about hearing this news.
Chapparro tells Rebecca her services are no longer needed as a stunned Rebecca listen to this Chapparro says with Dario's confession and Dulce now being charged with Margot's murder and her other crimes her job is done.Rebecca thanks her for her help as Chapparro tells tells her take care of her precious daughter. AURORA Highlights Wednesday
At this point in the story, the only sentient being who is NOT miserable is Aurora’s dog, Lucero.
Aurora is even more convinced of Lorenzo’s perfidy when Gustavo’s tells his latest bubbemeise: that young Natalia seduced him for his money and he only found out she was Lorenzo’s girlfriend at the infamous fiesta de cumpleaños. That’s why Gustavo sent Aurora away – to protect her from Bonnie and Clyde, AKA Natalia and Lorenzo. [This was the story Vanesa concocted to keep Aurora from asking Gustavo too many questions about his own nasty past.]
Then when Blanca lets slip the chisme about Martín’s roll in the hay with Nina, Aurora concludes that he’s a dog too.
Aurora invites father and son to dinner and announces that she has feelings for both of them. Lorenzo and Martín are already angry at each other because of the Nina dust-up, but now they really get their dander up as overt sexual rivals. Lorenzo stalks out saying that Aurora is nothing to him [hah!] and besides, he’s not available. Martín tells her his pride won’t permit him to share the woman he loves: Aurora can call him when she has decided he’s the one.
Also:
Nina moves in with Vanesa and Vicki. Vanesa undertakes Nina’s training as a rival for Aurora in dance and in love.
Blanca is working on her Imelda Marcos Memorial Shoe Collection when she discovers that Gustavo has cancelled her credit card. ¡Qué tragedia!
The police have traced Julia Castillo (the replacement congelada) to the hospital that sold her to Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Gustavo have to get rid of her body now.

But i get a feeling once Mauricio discovers the lies and cruelty of this sick and pathetic woman towards her own child he won't continue to champion her cause at least i hoope he has the good sense to wash his hands of her after he learns how she thinks about her own daughter.Mauricio tells Clara he will talk to Milady.

Martin brings up her son as this angers Dulce she tells him don't even try to manipulate her by using her son it doesn't matter what he does she won't exchange anything to help Eduardo or Elena against MC.
Eduardo is back at the house taken care of by Dr. Tabia as everyone gathers concerned about him and cursing MC and how he's lower than a slug.

Eduardo gets the phone call that Dario has died, as Corrina and Walter are with him she ask what;s wrong and he tells her what just happened.The phone rings and it's the woman calling about gitano that Elena wrote on the stall of the women's bathroom.
MC talks to the head of the mafia about business and a meeting with his friends.
Eduardo goes to his study with Corrina and Walter he gets the woman to send him a picture she took of what was written in the stall. He determines with Walter that it's a message sent to him from Elena but what as Corrina says it looks like a map is drawn. Corrina ask Walter to get her the maps of Florida and they find it looks like West Palm beach area.It seems like the Hardy boys with Nancy drew have discovered where Elena might be kept at.

ON EFDE Eduardo, Walter and Corrina discover where Elena map may lead them to her. As Corrina tries to convince Eduardo to call Martin he stubbornly refuses to do so.
Elena meanwhile is held where there's about 9 to 20 heavily armed guards walking around. The woman who stays with Elena is named Mauli or something like that comes into her room after being beaten. She keeps telling Elena there's no way they can escape from here. That these people are ruthless that she is dealing with.
Andrea is in wheelchair being pushed by her mother as Dr. Tabia gives her instructions not to overdue it even though she has been cleared to go home. Andrea is consoled by her mother over the death of her father.Eduardo comes in and consoles them both over their loss. Eduardo goes to see his brother.
Dulce is picked up by guess who to go to prison you she says to Chapparro oh no! Oh yes Chapparro says to Dulce i'm back working at the prison they trade insult as Gandica tells Chapparro to take her away. She gets up Dulce and hits her with her baton.
Eduardo talks to his brother letting him know he will keep his promise to him he remembers the last time they talk together before they died.

Montecristo meets up with crazy gemela he laughs at her new get up as crazy gemela ask him for help maybe he can get his mafia connections to get protection for her also. MC says no can't help you but crazy gemela brings up their association and how much she has helped him if she's going down so will he but MC tells her what proof do you really have against me and who will believe you. I can give you some money to help you but that's it. Crazy gemela realizes he's no help and tells him no keep it she find away to get even with those who have betrayed her she walks away as MC looks thoughtful after wondering if maybe he should get rid of her too.

Eduardo sees a black suv driving by as Pancho comes back with two coffees.
Laura and Ruth visit her old haunting grounds as she gives out food she tells everyone she won't let them go hungry anymore as Laura looks Ruth tells her she would like to use the money to help these people.
Eduardo and Pancho follow and see MC get out of the suv they followed he knows now where Elena is and how well guarded the place is too. That little gun isn't going to make a dent in those guards.
Mauli tries to get Elena to accept reality she tells her about the hacienda and everything is making a suspicious Elena ask her how does she know all of this? Mauli tells her there's no way she can ever leave here as MC doesn't really need your hacienda or need to keep you and Eduardo alive either.

I need to wait for the morning for Telemundo to post the episode; but reading your recap has me meh that there wasn't any Milady/Michel tonight! They better turn up tomorrow; or it's gonna be a loooooong time until Monday...their storyline is my fave.
Unlike this whole mafia thing. Couldn't they have come up with something a bit better for this last gasp before the end? QTH?? :p

ON Alguien Te Mira Piedad throws a fit and tells Julian let's go as a unknowing Rodrigo talks to his counselor he discovers she was addict herself clean so far for 8 years.
Julian at his place with Piedad teases her about being jealous of Rodrigo and the woman she is with he goads her by asking if she wants to go over to Rodrigo and confront him but Piedad denies this.
Tatiana upset chops up the pepperoni sloppily as Matilde watches she declares the woman a nasty piece of trash who's sleeping with her husband and she will kill her if she ever finds out who it is.Benja comes in late again and is questions by Tatiana where he's been he tells her with some people she ask who Rodrigo or is this another lie? She leaves and goes to her bedroom to cry alone over the state of her marriage.
As Matilde ask Benja what's going on does he even think how his actions are effecting his wife? She ask him point blank is there another woman but Benja lies and says no there isn't. Matilde looks at him as if she doesn't believe she goes to clean up after them but Benja rudely tells her he will clean up and she can leave.

She then has her fantasy again about killing Lucia.One of their daughters ask what she means as Lola starts describe why she is feeling because of Loca Lucia Pedro Pablo coughs to say don't say that in front of the kids.
Rodrigo is walking with his counselor asking if she wants to go get some coffee but she tells him no because she has work to go to early the next day. Piedad pulls up as Rodrigo introduces them to each other.Piedad is not so friendly towards her as counselor takes her leave Rodrigo invites Piedad in.

Their three girls come in to join them saying they saw monsters, as Lola holds up four fingers as if to indicate four children now they'll have to deal with as Pedro Pablo shrugs and smiles holding his girls.

Mauricio goes to the police station to see Luisa who's in charge of the case now.She doesn't want to hear anything from him as he insist she just listen to him for a moment but a angry Luisa ask him why? No matter what you think of me i do want to help here he gives her some files he has maybe he said this can help you capture the killer. As Luisa snidely tells him are you sure you shouldn't be giving this to Amador instead? But she relents and gives him the file she has in her hands as he looks at it she ask him what's his angle now? He tells her to do anything he can to capture the killer why she ask so you can be famous? No Mauricio tells Luisa to kill him as he walks away from a stunned Luisa.

Tatiana is talking to Camila about her marriage calling the conniving, sneaky zorra(which translate into Ho',skank or slut_ your choice of what word you want to use.How she's getting away sleeping with her husband as Tatiana launches into more colorful vocabulary towards this woman a guilty Camila says that's enough she just imagining things. She keeps trying her old tired line how Benja's adores her and he would never do that to her. Tatiana says that's enough i don't want to hear that anymore from you. Matilde is getting things ready in the office as Mauricio barges in she tells him to leave right now but Mauricio won't listen to her. She picks up the phone threatening to call the police on him but he still won't leave. Mauricio tells her he needs her help to find the killer as Matilde is like what are you talking about?Mauricio tells her how the people at the clinic are lying for each other and that Benja has had affairs with the carpenter woman and Rocio as a stunned Matilde ask if this is true? He tells her yes Benja was going to meet Rocio in NY when she was killed they are covering up for him. Mauricio tells Matilde he's going to find the truth of who killed Eva and the others as he leaves.
Benja in his office with Julian and Piedad explains that his marriage is over as Piedad tears him a new one for his unfaithfulness. Benja gets upset it's hard for this guy dealing with the truth. Julian tries to stop Piedad from saying more but she won't have it. CanuckFan you're right that Mario Cimarro will be in the new novela with Marlene Favela they showed them together for the Christmas greeting for Telemundo.
No there was no Milady and Michel sighting from last night's episode they're my favorite couple of this novela. The best thing that happen was seeing Dulce get beat and scared and fearing for her life, i take she has a lot of enemies inside that prison. She has gotten away with so many murders boy that was so enjoyable to see. The other scene that made me happy was seeing crazy gemela begging MC for help and asking him to get her protection from the mafia. She's gotten away with so much also the downer is she's still loose.
I don't have a problem with the mafia story line because a lot of Telemundo novelas seem to a have a drug trafficking theme to them. I know Reina Del Sur and Ojo por Ojo seem to be two novelas with this theme too. Not saying i won't watch them but it's a change so i don't have a big problem with it.Well i might watch one of them:)

I can't wait for La Reina del Sur to come on...I read the book a few years ago and it's one of my favourites--I'm eager to see how Telemundo adapts into a novela; and to see how Kate del Castillo does in the title role.
I'm off to watch the EFDE eppy--it's not up on Telemundo.com yet; but I see it's available at another....source ;)

AURORA Highlights Thursday
Vengeful Aurora strikes again! On the eve of his scheduled departure for Madrid, Lorenzo can’t resist an invitation to her apartment. She greets him dressed in green, then changes into a black come-hither number. And he does. Come hither, that is. Natalia bursts in to find them in a compromising position. You win! (Ganaste) she tells Aurora and runs outside where, coincidentally, Federico is driving along. He picks her up, comforts her, and is well on the way to completing the assignment Vanesa gave him: Seduce Natalia. Federico is, however, taken aback when Natalia tells him she caught Lorenzo and Aurora ‘in fraganti’ since he still thinks they are father and daughter.
Meanwhile Lorenzo is furious because he’s sure Aurora has set him up. But Roque bursts in and claims he was the one who called Natalia because he wanted to keep Aurora from making the same mistake as her mother (falling for Lorenzo). When Lorenzo leaves, Aurora and Roque exchange high fives! It WAS a set-up, and it worked to perfection.
Martín realizes that no one will hire him because Gustavo has given him horrible references. Gustavo doesn’t try to disguise his hatred or his intention to keep Martín from working as a physician in New York City.
Eugenio Siller as Martín gets to sing again – this time in a club where César’s friends are gathered to say goodbye to him. (Apparently he is going to Madrid with his parents.) When Nina tries to cozy up to Martín, he recoils. She threatens to seduce all of César’s friends. ¡Hazlo que quieras¡ (Do whatever you want), he says. I’m not playing your games anymore, not after all the harm you’ve done to me:
No somos hermanos pero no me gustas.
(We’re not brother and sister, but you’re not attractive to me/I don’t like you.) Ouch.
Blanca is so disturbed by the thought of working for a living that she swallows her pride and goes to Inés for help. Inés re-establishes a line of credit for the Poor Little Rich Girl and reiterates the lie that she is her mother.
And the acronym of the day: OVNI or Object Volador No Identificado, ie UFO.
Gustavo and Elizabeth think there were no witnesses to their callous disposal of the partially frozen Julia Castillo in a dumpster.
But the wino who was watching is sure he saw an OVNI drop off the body. Other people say her captors must have been ‘vampiros’ because Julia’s body was drained of blood. But at least one doctor at the Cryonics Lab recognizes Julia from her picture on the news: she was one of their congeladas!

I was so glad to see Piedad dismiss Julián's attempt to convince her that Rodrigo is the killer. I also loved the way Piedad called Benja to account for his bad behavior in his marriage. It seems both Benja and Camila were liking the status quo just fine, sneaking around like naughty kids while Tati gets stuck playing the grown-up.
I don't like the way Julián was looking at Daniela (la facilitadora) last night. Single mother, lost custody of her kids, connected to Rodrigo -- uh oh. Luisa better hurry up and stop that butcher before he leaves two more motherless children.
Re LA REINA DEL SUR:
CanuckFan and Blu, I don't usually like stories that glorify narcotraficantes but I admit I'm anxious to see what they've done with this story. I also read the book a few years ago. It's interesting in its own right but it's fascinating to consider what a splash it made when it came out. It even inspired a song, a narcocorrido.
I think Kate del Castillo is a great choice for the lead. She has the athletic good looks, the not quite beautiful woman who convinces you she's beautiful because she carries herself as if she were. Besides our favorite psychopathic killer, Rafael Amaya (Julián in Alguien te Mira), there are featured roles for Sandra Echeverría (Jade in El Clon) and Juan Pablo Raba (Said in El Clon), according to a cast list I saw. And they used some of the Moroccan locations where El Clon was filmed. All in all, there should be some family resemblance. And that's a good thing, I think.

On Alguien, we seem to have two more possible victims for the killer. 1) Rodrigo's counselor, whose name is Daniela. She revealed that she's a single mother who lost custody of her kids. 2) Tatiana. If she gets a divorce, she'd also be a single mother. Look out!
BTW, the model in the support group is named Valeria. I don't know if we'll see her again, though.

As for the mafia theme on Fantasma, I don't really mind it, but those scenes of the outside of the compound, with 20 guys walking back and forth, are ridiculous! This was right off a street (Eduardo and Pancho viewed it from the highway). Wouldn't this attract a bit of attention from the cops? I laugh every time I see all those guards.

She said at the time she didn;t want her near Rodrigo because she would tempt back into taking drugs but it was also jealousy too. That's when she was considered a strong suspect too because she got scratched by her and then later lied to the cops herself.Also helped by Julian.

I sure hope the drug counselor doesn't get killed by Julián. Rodrigo needs her, and she seems like a very sweet person. I got very nervous when she produced the photos of her children.
I'm getting tired of Lola. I don't really like the way she treats Camila. Nor the way Tatiana treats Camila. She may sleep around, but during the work day, people deserve respect - not ridicule. Also, maybe it's the actress, but Lola's behavior about Lucy's maybe pregnancy is ridiculous. She has two options. It IS Pedro Pablo's baby produced while he was drugged or it's probably a hysterical pregnancy because she's nuts. I seem to remember they have evidence she drugged him, so if the baby is his, he has no responsibility. In any case, her husband has not been unfaithful to her in any real sense. So she should just wait it out and stop lurching around like an elephant in heat.
Wow, I can't remember when I wanted a villain to get his as much as I do Julián. And his behavior is very inconsistent. Seems like the smart thing would have been to steer Piedad out of that restaurant so her jealousy would not be triggered.
I wonder where they're going with the flashbacks of Julián and his mother. Did she sexually abuse him? The ones they've shown so far are fine - she seems fond of her child.
Up until right about now I thought this novela was excellent, well acted and suspenseful. But they're not showing any signs of Ultimas Semanas. It feels to me like two more weeks would be just about right. But it feels like they're going to drag it out.

NovelaMaven,I'm excited about La Reina too. I couldn't put the book down, although I too generally have little interest in narcostories. This one was different and hopefully it's transfer from the written word to a moving picture will keep the freshness. It'll be my number one if not only telenovela once it starts.
Meanwhile, thanks for Wednesday and Thursday reviews. I'll have them close at hand as I watch them unfold from the tapes this weekend. Have my fingers crossed there will be a Friday revue version also. I'm still liking the novela (I think), but it's so hard not to be judgmental about how stupidly Aurora is acting. And baring having a reason to make the novema longer, I simply can't buy into her reasoning to keep all these secrets. Hate having to suspend common sense to get into the story! This seems to be less common with Telemundo novelas than those on Univision, but this one, well???
Just got the latest People in Spanish with some awards. When it comes to giving those things out, the judges look mostly at Univision for telenovelas. I think that is a mistake. I was hoping Ochmann would get an acting award as well as the villaness in Donde Esta Elisa. Perhaps we need to start another awards show. Lois

I'm getting a bit fed up with Aurora's revenge plans too. Mainly I'm bugged by the fact that she has completely fallen into Vanessa's trap, AGAIN. Didn't she just say the other day, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." Well, for shame, for shame Aurora. You are being hoodwinked twice by Vanessa.
The other thing that's really bugging me about her plan is that she is purposely ruining what WAS a wonderful father-son relationship between Lorenzo and Martin. They were the best of friends, and now she's made them enemies, on purpose! I hate that.

And yes, it did look like Julian was scoping out Rod's counselor as his next victim. I think the reason it was important for Piedad to see Rod with the counselor is so that there will be doubt in Piedad's mind when she turns up dead. I really hope not, because I like the counselor. But they killed off Eva, so these writers are capable of anything.
