Life after El Clon or El Mundo Telemumdo - week of Nov. 8
Aurora: Week 2 by NovelaMaven
I’m really getting into this story of a modern-day Sleeping Beauty trying to re-enter her world after a twenty year absence. Sara Maldonado’s lovely Aurora has just the right mixture of strength and fragility and pain. Eugenio Siller as Martín/Lorenzo and Jorge Luis Pila as the older Lorenzo are doing such a good job that it’s easy to forget the leap of faith required to believe that twenty years could turn the first actor into the second. Well almost. And hey, this week we got to see them dance together!
So here’s what has happened in the past week:
At the Cryonics Facility:
When Dr. Gustavo Ponce de León defrosted Aurora, he acted against the wishes of the Board (junta). Now, suspicious of his increasing secrecy and furtive behavior, they insist that he open Aurora’s (empty!) capsule for their inspection. Dra Elizabeth thinks fast: She moves another congelada, same age, coloring and body-type as Aurora, into Aurora’s capsule. The switcheroo fools the committee. After only a brief look at the ice maiden, they authorize the capsule to be resealed and they apologize to Gustavo for doubting him.
Later, Martín brings his father, Lorenzo, to the clinic to catch a glimpse of la congelada before Gustavo blocks access to her capsule. And Lorenzo recognizes instantly that it’s the wrong congelada!
Gustavo and Elizabeth have to fill the capsule left empty by the faux Aurora. Elizabeth enlists the help of a corrupt hospital employee to find a new congelada candidate. And he does: For an unspecified price, a young Jane Doe on the verge of death is stealthily transferred to the Cryonics facility for Gustavo to work his magic.
In la familia Ponce de León:
Aurora:
This week Beta Aurora gets a new look: Blanca helps her update her wardrobe and hair.
She gets up close and personal with Lorenzo. To put an end to his insistence that he is her father, she says, look, I’ll show you it’s not true:
¡Yo te voy a demostrar que no soy tu hija! And she kisses him in a distinctly unfilial fashion.
She is still weak and easily exhausted. And in the Kiss scene, she develops an alarming new symptom. First, we just see a hand with blood dripping onto it. Then, we see that she has a bloody nose. That night, she snuggles into bed next to Blanca. The following morning, Blanca has trouble waking her. When she sees Aurora’s bloody face and the blood stains on the linens, she is very frightened. Aurora wakes up a moment later and reassures her that nothing bad is happening.
She is uneasy about the Big Lie but still tolerates it. (See more about The Big Lie below.)
When Lorenzo tells her he knows that his Aurora isn’t in the capsule at the Cryonics facility, she tries to convince him that she is; it’s just that for the sake of privacy, she’s in a different capsule there.
Gustavo:
This is not a man given to self-doubt. Gustavo remains unrepentant about his past and present behavior. He thinks Aurora should be grateful to him for saving her life.
Inés:
She recognizes she harmed her daughter in the past by going along with Gustavo. She and Aurora reconcile. (Blanca catches Aurora calling Inés ‘mama’; they explain that Aurora needed a mother and Inés was more like a mother than a grandmother to her.)
She is dependent on pills originally prescribed by Gustavo. Now he criticizes her for using them.
Interestingly, Inés boasts to Gustavo that it was she who poisoned Eduardo. She did it to protect Aurora, she says. But first she tried to convince him by sleeping with him. (Okay, this is the second person taking credit for the murder – the first was Dra Elizabeth. Usually only terrorist cells, rival gangs and psychos confess to murders they haven’t committed. Hmmm. Who’s going to be the next one to confess?)
Blanca:
Blanca, with Aurora’s encouragement, is finding new meaning in her life. She worked briefly at the family advertising agency, but that never really interested her. What she loved was her experience at the School of the Arts. She quit because she didn’t want to compete with the ghost of her sister, ie Alpha Aurora. Aurora persuades her to give it another try: she may well be a better dancer than her sister was!
Unfortunately, Blanca is getting a huge crush of Martín. ¡Ay, eso no puede ser! Because of the Big Lie, she has no way of knowing that Lorenzo is her father and therefore Martín is her half brother.
Roque:
He is the family chauffeur and Aurora’s friend and protector, past and present. He is one of the few people who know the whole truth.
The Big Lie:
Aurora sadly agrees to support the lie about her origins because she feels Blanca is unprepared to hear the truth. She also respects Lorenzo’s marriage to Natalia and doesn’t want to destroy his family.
Gustavo takes the Big Lie to another level when he seeks out Federico Alvarez de Toledo, the rich kid he was pushing on Aurora twenty years ago, to pose as the father of Beta Aurora. The guy is slimy: he has frivoled away his fortune and is now willing to say anything if the price is right. The only thing he brings to the table is creepy-looking facial hair, including a 50’s lothario mustache.
The new twist on the lie: Aurora lived with her father Federico all those years. That’s why los Ponce de León never reported her missing.
In la familia Lobos:
Lorenzo:
He continues his struggle to be a good husband and father but he can’t deny the feelings that have been stirred up by Beta Aurora’s appearance. When he thought she was his daughter, she was off-limits. If she’s not his daughter…
Natalia:
With Beta Aurora’s appearance, all of Natalia’s insecurities have surfaced. She knows that for Lorenzo, Alpha Aurora was el amor de su vida. For her, he has never felt more than cariño. She mistakenly thinks that by telling him that Beta Aurora is not his daughter, she’s inoculating him against her charms.
Natalia has some old guilt surfacing too. After Aurora’s disappearance in 1990, she allowed Lorenzo to believe the story that she (Aurora) had betrayed him with Federico. At the time, Vanesa pressured her to do so by threatening that Natalia’s parents, who worked for Vanesa’s family, would lose their jobs if she told the truth.
She asks her stepson Martín to help her hold on to her man. He recognizes the request is inappropriate but he agrees for reasons of his own. He needs to get Daddy out of the way so he can pitch his own woo. Did I hear somebody say Oedipal?
Nina:
Lorenzo befriended Natalia when she was pregnant with Nina. Lorenzo is the only father Nina has ever known. Natalia is still unwilling to tell Nina the name of her biological father.
Nina mopes around Martín, walks into his bedroom without knocking, and sleeps with him when she feels lonely. Get your minds out of the gutter. Sleeps, as in catches some zzzz’s. Well maybe not totally out of the gutter – poor Nina is smitten with her Adonis-like stepbrother even if he sees her as his little sister and has no romantic interest in her. In fact, he confides to her that he’s in love with Beta Aurora.
Martín:
He’s a renaissance man, our Martín. A scientist, a dancer, a writer of love songs which he sings himself. (Not half bad, actually.) He fell in love with Aurora the first time he saw her in the hospital ward of the Freezer. He recognizes that his father is perilously close to being his rival in love.
He is very curious about everything that happens in the Cryonics facility. In part, his interest is scientific – he wanted to work there before he knew Aurora’s story; in part, it is personal – now he wants to know everything there is to know about La Congelada.
One of the young doctors there seems to be interested in him, although he appears not to notice her. He also seems oblivious to the way Blanca and Nina lose themselves in his eyes when they are with him.
César:
We learn a few more details: He is adopted. He is very tough, very smart and inside prison he bargained for his life by agreeing to help some scary fugitives on the outside. As a condition of his release from jail, he is supposed to enter rehab. But right now he is staying with his family and observing everyone very closely.
Vanesa Miller and Vicki:
Vanesa:
The passage of years has done nothing to sweeten her disposition. She is the same lying, spiteful, jealous perra who invited Lorenzo to Aurora’s birthday party in 1990 just so he could see her with Federico and believe that he had been played for a fool.
She still demands Natalia’s silence and threatens to expose her part in the conspiracy to keep Lorenzo and Aurora apart if she speaks up. And her latest lie: she tells Beta Aurora that it was Natalia who invited Lorenzo to that fateful birthday party.
She goes to see Lorenzo and is stung by his scorn for her. He isn’t impressed by her success as a famous telenovela villain, nor the size of her pompis. But she thinks he’s hotter than ever!
With her husband Eduardo safely on ice, she checks out the contents of his caja fuerte: in addition to muchísimo dinero and the usual documents, she finds something unexpected: a DVD labeled “Aurora”. She is impactada by what she sees on the DVD: Aurora being brought back to life. She writes out a statement of what she has just seen and then places it and the DVD back in her safe.
She tells Federico that she knows he isn’t Beta Aurora’s father.
Vicki:
So far, Vanesa’s daughter seems to be free of her mother’s malice. She is on the periphery of the story, a friend for Blanca to confide in.
Labels: alguien, aurora, fantasma, telemundo
And just to add a few words about Alguien te Mira:
I hadn't been watching regularly until El Clon ended, so please feel free to fill in and correct me --
Lots of snap, crackle and pop along several plotlines:
-In a stunning lapse of professional ethics, Piedad's OBGYN tells Rodrigo about the pregnancy and that Julian accompanied her at her first appointment. Rodrigo acts out like a spoiled, drunken, drugged up brat and Piedad's decision to exclude him seems more than justified.
-Matilde is horrified to discover that her boyfriend, the reporter, has been secretly filming their lovemaking. She finds tapes labeled with the names of a couple of dozen women, including police officer Eva as well as one of the murder victims. Matilde hands the material over to Eva and Eva arranges for police protection for Matilde.
-Skanky Camila and Sleazy Benja are still hooking up
-Benja denies receiving the heart but Julian finally tells Eva he did and then they all helped him bury it.
-Loco Luci is terrorizing Lola and the family: she waved a gun in her face and threatened to kill her, she lurks around their home and rings the bell late at night, she slashes tires, and most recently, she poisoned their dogs. PP keeps saying they can't go to the police because they have no proof it's Luci.
-We still don't know who the killer is. The reporter is looking crazy enough for the job, though.
-The leaks to the press should continue even though Eva has been removed from the case. One of the other cops (don't know his name) is shown feeding info to the scuzzy reporter.
Please add, correct, whatever:)
...if anyone has been watching "Llena de Amor" over at Univisión, you might be interested to know that an earlier version of the novela is being shown on Telemundo. It comes on right after their morning show. This 2002 Venezuelan culebrón stars Juan Pablo Raba -- the actor who played Said in "El Clon" -- in the Valentino Lanús role. It seems he knows how to do more than glower!
Hopefully this weekend I will get caught up with LEG. I hope they go back to an hour show soon. I will definelty be checking in to this site, so Thanks Jean.
NovelaMaven- I watch both Alguien and Aurora, so I really appreciated your summaries. Aurora is really drawing me in. My one question is why did/does Vanessa hate Aurora so much? I missed most of those falshback scenes, so I don't know. What will she do with the knowledge that Aurora 2.0 is really the 1.0 version?
Nina really needs to get over her creepy crush on her stepbrother. He has been her brother her whole life. It's not like he came into the picture years later when she was older. With her thinking, she could have a things for her adopted brother too. So none of Lorenzo's children with Natalia are related by blood. Of course Martin and Blanca are blood siblings and she's developing a crush on him big time. Something needs to put a stop to this. Too much incestual feelings all around.
I continue to wonder how they will work out the romantic entaglements. Lorenzo is Aurora's soulmate, and vice versa. But now he has 20 years of life lived more than she does. And then there is sweet Martin who is totally in love with her. What will she do?
In Alguien: the doctors continue to act like jerks, with Rod and Benja acting like the biggest jerks of all. But it's Julian that gets on my nerves the most with his self rightous smuggness. I hate the way he tries to control Matilde. And I am so glad she finally found those tapes and killed the reporter to the curb. I'm sure once Julian finds out, he will use it as an "I told you so" moment and tell her that her job is to be dependent on him and dedicate her life to her son, and only her son. Belch! Pedro Pablo and Lola are so cute together (giving each other massages), but I am very worried for them with Lucy La Loca out there. She is planning something big.
"My one question is why did/does Vanessa hate Aurora so much?"
You know how the FDA uses the acronym GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) to talk about food additives and chemicals? Well in this novela (as in almost every tn), Aurora is GRAM: Generally Recognized as Most___ GRAM-B (Beautiful), GRAM-T (Talented) as well as GRAB: Generally Recognized as Best ___: GRAB-D (Dancer).
Vanesa, never a very nice person, is and was consumed with jealousy. Aurora got the coveted role of Sleeping Beauty. And even though the three friends, she, Natalia and Aurora, lusted after Lorenzo, it was Aurora that he chose. Vanesa is like the evil queen who keeps asking her mirror to tell her who is the fairest of them all. And the damn thing keeps replying: Aurora!
I agree about Nina. I think she's the kind of passive-aggressive character that ultimately causes much grief for the protagonists. And she could use a good shrink. Well so could the whole family. Hmm, I wonder if Enrique's therapist (from the clone) is available???
I am also really enjoying Alguien. Dana Garcia is one of my favorites, but these doctors!!! They give new meaning to the phrase "Physician, heal thyself." I'm going to excuse Rodrigo's obnoxious behavior just for a while because he's so darn cute, but eventually he's going to have to get help if he's going to end up with Piedad, which I bet he will (wow, imagine kids from that gene pool). And like NovelaMaven, I really think PP and his wife are cute, although he was smart enough to prove his innocense but not smart enough to prove that the family tormenter is Lucy. And one more thing: Even if Mauricio isn't the killer, which I don't think he is, his creepiness rating is so high it doen't even matter-he's off the charts creepy.
I agree that Mauricio is too obvious;Rodrigo and Piedad have to wind up together, and wasn't Benajmin already in New york when Rosio Lynch was killed?
Am looking forward to finding out if my reasons stand up.
Thanks so much Jean and Novela Maven. It's good to hear what others are thinking about this show.
Great recap, ladies!!!
I've been watching Alguein Te Mira. I still feel Julian is the guilty one. I don't really know why, altho he did rat out Benja and Rod. But it's a matter of eliminating those who don't seem to be guilty.
I believe Mauricio is a low life but not the murderer. He is a voyeur.
Ann-NYC
Pila is of of course excellent as an actor and OBVIOUSLY as eye candy. He positively smolders in his scenes with Aurora, they're so intense and beautiful. And even though Eugenio Siller is no Pila, he holds his own pretty well, coming across as completely charming and endearing. I did read somewhere that his "prince charming curls" are ridiculous though lol.
I think there is a lot to be unpacked in this novela, and i'm totally on board with it. On a side note, the incestuous feeling of the novela are a tad bit creepy .
@NovelaMaven: I have seen the Venezuelan Llena de Amor, and as much as I LOVE Valentino Lanus, his acting does fall short, specially in comparison to Raba
I don't know what to make of Aurora but i hope the incestous feelings and near relationships get cleaned up it's really very creepy.
Vanessa i believe is the typical novela villain hateful for no good reason towards the heroine because she isn't the heroine.
Alqiuen Te Mira wow Mauricio is a nasty little creep isn't he? But i agree with others now i don't think he's more than just a sexual voyeur. The one who keeps doing things that make me believe he's the killer is Julian. Remember at first it was Julian who told Eva he suspected Rodrigo as the killer. He has done a lot of little things that strangely add up to him being the killer. He went and saw Rocio too and he was very creepy about that although his excuse was he looking to buy a painting. His giving Eva the info about the heart really made me strongly suspect him about being the killer now. I was leaning that way when Eva got the mailing address to the clinic from the box that the heart was delivered to Benjamin. Who would do something like that not Rodrigo he's too strung out on drugs and alcohol and he hates Eva and he considers Benjamin his true friend. We all know Benjamin wasn't going to give up that info so it does point to Julian. Even Piedad didn't want to be apart of covering up the heart being sent to the clinic kept her mouth shut because she doesn't care that much for Eva either. All signs are pointing to Julian.
Benjamin and Camila wow they are still at, i figure one of these days they're going to get caught by Tatiana and it's all over for the both of them.
I love Lola and Pablo but they really need to install some security camera strategically throughout there property Lucia needs to be locked up in a padded cell pronto. If not i'm very afraid she'll hurt either Pablo or Lola or their children. Talk about fatal attraction.
Dario meanwhile tries to mend fences with Andrea and wants to be apart of Andrea's wedding. Andrea rejected him big time bringing up the fact that Dario left her and her mother high and dry for his mistress and his son by Dulce not lending a hand to help her mother from going to prison and suffering.
Dective Martin who i love told Ruth the truth of who he really suspects killed her half sister Margot that being Dulce it looks like Ruth maybe trying to get revenge against Dulce.
Montecristo was tortured and drowned by Eduardo to tell him what he did to Elena Lafe's baby. Montecristo of course didn't say anything.
Michel keeps watch over his supposed sister Milady but you can tell by the way he looks at her it's not brotherly love. He still cares very deeply for Milady, as Clara meets Milady's father who seems like he is rich and powerful. Clara convinces him not to meet Milady yet trying to delay their meeting until Michel is wed to Andrea. She promised she wouldn't lie anymore to hurt Milady if she got to meet Milady's father to the padre we see how long that promised lasted huh?
Eduardo told Leonor he wants her to take control of his son because the crazy gemela hasn't shown any type of motherly instincts whatsoever.
Chaparro and Jesusa discuss Milady's father and Chaparro knows the big lie Clara is telling to keep Michel and Milady apart so far she has agreed to keep her mouth shut but she hates to see her much Milady is suffering from this lie because her of her biological mother.
Dulce still can't find where Dario hid their son little Eduardo.
Eduardo is calling his son Tomas after Elena Lafe's father.
Montecristo,Dulceand crazy gemela make a unholy alliance to do away with both Elena Lafe and Eduardo for the inheritance and Ruth.
Previews Dulce has gotten into the clinic where Elena Lafe is staying as a nurse posing as a nurse. She has a syringe and we can guess it's not sugar water in it. Eduardo gets a phone call maybe about Elena Lafe being in danger as Dulce runs for it trying not to be caught.
I'm too far behind to comment. I'm almost al tanto with Alguien te Mira. Watched LOTS this weekend and am only one week behind. But I STILL can't read all your comments because they'd be spoilers for me. But keep 'em comin'! When I'm caught up I'll read them. Hopefully I'll catch up and be able to comment.
Only watched about 3 episodes of Aurora, and don't know if I'll try to catch up or give up. It's still on my DVR. I found the father intolerable. As I've mentioned al cansancio when discussing El Clon, I can't abide controlling people. They really make me almost ill.
Anyway, I'm glad we finally got our very own link and hope to join you when I've caught up a bit.
I haven't watched last night's (Monday's) shows yet, so something could have changed, but here are my thoughts on Fantasma and Alguien.
On Fantasma: How can Eduardo torture his half-brother, dunking him in the water, covering him with gasoline, almost setting him on fire, and not be a) charged with a crime or b) considered a bad guy. I know, because he's Eduardo, the good guy.
How did Chapparro change from being the evil prison warden to actually helping all these long lost families get together and really protecting Rebecca? Not too believable, but oh well.
Corina said something like she'd give her life for Andrea. Since Andrea and Walter love each other, maybe this will actually happen, although I wouldn't be happy, because Corina is my favorite character.
I think Milady's uniform should be required for all "sirvientas" under the age of 25. :)
As for Alguien, I agree with everybody's reasoning that Julian seems like the guilty one these days. But I'm also thinking the writers may have something else up their sleeves. Who would be the most unlikely killer. Pedro Pablo, right? Is there ANY way he could be doing it? Probably not. Or could one of the women be the killer, such as Camila?
Hombre De Misterio why did Chapparro suddenly change from the nasty sadistic evil prison warden she used to be to a caring and there for friend who is helping out Rebecca and Milady?
Maybe her surroundings improved by a lot so she therefore became a more humane person? We know Dario hired her to keep a eye on Rebecca and make sure she doesn't talk about what he and Dulce are up to. I think somewhere along the way Chapparro grew close to Rebecca from a mother's perspective of what's happening with Andrea. A woman's pov for Dario having a affair with Dulce and leaving her also.
The connection between Chapparro and Milady is Jesusa, i believe that Chapparro is Michel's birth mother. Plus she knows that Clara had a tryst with Milady's real father when she was young. There's a bond she has with Jesusa plus she happens to like Milady and doesn't like to see her suffering over the supposed relationship she has with Michel because of Clara's lie.I would like to have more background on why Chapparro was evil at the beginning maybe regrets over giving up her child because she couldn't afford to raise him?
Count me in also as believing the killer is Julián. Probably because I can't STAND him. Every time he drapes himself all over Piedad, I want to scream. He did surprise me by seeming happy about Piedad's pregnancy. Usually these obsessive guys don't want the object of the obsession to be pregnant by another man. And I agree 100% that he's outrageous in trying to control his ex-wife.
It's kind of ambiguous because he does seem to be a good father, odd for a serial killer.
I've never seen Christian Meier play such a disagreeable galán. He's probably really enjoying the chance to chew some scenery after all his heroic roles.
I wonder where they're going with the Benja/Tatiana/Camila triangle. A couple of times they've almost hinted that he really loves Camila. And Tati can be insoportable.
I think Danna García has to be hands-down the most beautiful TN actress I've seen. She's simply gorgeous. Something about her reminds me of Salma Hayek.
I thought the whole scene of Eduardo trying to force the truth out of Montecristo was ridiculous because, first, it was not consistent with Eduardo's character and second, Montecristo knew as well as the rest of us that Eduardo wasn't going to really drown or burn him so he had no motivation to say anything.
As for Andrea and Michel - I think they will get married. Michel will find out that that he and Milady aren't related but Andrea will need his support for her recovery Dr. Tibia (or whatever his name is, will find a cure at the last moment).
Nena is sort of the Cassandra of this novela. Like the Trojan princess, she tells the truth but no one believes her. Of course, she could have just told Corina that Elena Calcano's baby is really Elena Lafe's but that would have been too easy.
Milady was having abdominal pain a little while ago. What happened with that? Is she pregnant or what?
As for the killer i think it someone who had a mother either single or divorced and i don't know it's obvious he hated his mother that's why he's targeting single mothers with a child. Whether they're divorced or just had the child by themselves.
Benjamin needs to leave Tatiana as much as he says he loves her i just don't see every time she complains or puts down Rodrigo, i can see why he's fed up with her. She does come across as a uppity know it all annoying snob.
Last night he really gave it to Julian calling him a traitor and betraying him and told him and Piedad he doesn't want to work with him anymore. So it'll be interesting if they manage to salvage their partnership with the clinic.
Why would Eduardo do something like that to Montecristo some of you ask? Montecristo is a low down dirty and nasty character and sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.Keep in mind before Elena Lafe ever enter the picture Eduardo had a lot of his rich girlfriends disappear or turn up missing or frighten away i think he strongly suspects that Montecristo was behind that. But what Montecristo did to Elena Lafe and their child pushed Eduardo over the edge he now believes the child that Elena Lafe had is his so i can definitely believe his response would be like that.
Jean the reason why no one believes Nena because she was a charlatan and scam artist who took Corrina for her money. Now that she is really being used as a medium for Daniela, it's like the boy who cried wolf scenario here.Don't forget she and Anacleto took Corrina to the beach one time to have a seance and Corrina lost conciousness they panicked because they couldn't feel a pulse and threw her in the ocean that's another reason there a lot of distrust towards Nena.
I just don't want Michel and Andrea to get married not because they both really don't love each other but i don't want to see Clara getting her way anymore. It's sad how a stone cold killer like Dulce has so much love for her own child and how much contempt Clara has towards her own in order to keep her reputation. I hope something or someone stops them from getting married tonight.Besides Michel and Milady are such a cute couple.
This is where you will need to go to see any new postings under El Mundo de Telmundo: http://www.delicious.com/caray/Telemundo
There are only three postings so far. There will likely be only one post per week (whatever Jean and NovelaMaven can provide), with the conversation continuing on that thread for the whole week, as long as people want to come back and discuss. There is no separate Aurora or Alguien, etc. posts. They are all here, so just feel free to jump in and share your thoughts on what's happening in Aurora, or to ask other watchers questions.
Aurora: I thought it was interesting this week that Aurora had trouble keeping her timelines straight. She saw Martin as his little boy self and told him he was too young to talk to her of love. The look on his face was lol! And she declared her love for Lorenzo to his wife. Now her bump to her head seems have brought her back firmly to the present. But thanks to Vanessa's manipulations, she's bent on revenge. And Mina declared her love for her stepbrother Martin to Aurora and her mother. Her mom looked shocked, but didn't slam the door on her line of thinking, as long as it keeps Martin away from Aurora 2.0. She is stupid beyond words. But I loved how Aurora stood her ground with Mina, although she's not really interested in Martin romantically.
I started this discussion group before Melinama, our blog mom, had allotted us a separate space. So I piggybacked it onto the 'el clon' recaps. I wanted to take advantage of momentum -- several regular 'clon' commenters were enthusiastic about a Telemundo discussion space when Blusamurai first came up with the idea (Thanks again, Blu!). And I also wanted to start when Aurora started so we could all get the back story straight.
Then Melinama kindly gave us the tab "Mundo de Telemundo" (see Hombre's comment on how to find it.) However, Jean and I are double-tagging our entries so you can get to them by clicking on "Mundo de Telemundo" or "El Clon" recaps way. That is, the entries are cross-referenced.
As Vivi explained, Jean and I will be posting weekly. Then the conversation is open: anything about Telemundo's novelas is appropriate.
"Aurora" is my favorite, too, Lois, although I like seeing what people have to say about the other programs.
About Aurora:
As crazy as the situation is, I just love the heroine and I think the actress playing her is doing a fabulous job. She is alarmingly fragile, isn't she, at times confusing past and present and having weird lapses, such as not remembering whether she knows how to skate. Maybe it was a little too 'cursi' but I thought it was touching that she asked Gustavo to 'reanimar' her dog, Lucero: she is desperate for a friend, one she doesn't have to wear a mask for.
Even though the situation is basically tragic, Aurora shows flashes of humor and playfulness and yes, a bit of well-directed anger. And you have to admit, when it comes to galanes, she has VERY good taste. LOL.
The dying Jane Doe that Elizabeth and Gustavo bought to fill the empty capsule isn't dying after all. I haven't seen last night's show yet, so I'm not sure how this is resolved. But I wouldn't be surprised if they went ahead and froze her anyway.
I'll have more to say after I watch last night's episode...
To show how great the security is at the clinic where Elena Lafe is recovering at. Crazy gemela and Dulce kidnapped and i believe kill a nurse waiting outside for her ride for her id.No guards or security cameras around to catch this happening at all?
Clara continues to lie to Michel about whether he and Milady have the same father. Michel seems to have put two and two together to realize he is older than Milady and he confronted Clara about this.
The wedding is on as Milady's real alive father is one of the guest attending it. Chapparro remembers him and reminds him that she knows him.
Ruth vows to Martin she will get revenge on Dulce for killing her half sister Margot.
Dulce slips into the facility as a nurse with a syringe she plans on killing Elena Lafe while everyone is at Andrea's wedding. Dario gives blood samples to Dr. Tabia to help find a cure for Andrea.
Crazy gemela has flashbacks to the wedding where she killed her sister when Eduardo was going to marry her.
Dulce slips into Elena Lafe room ready to put the needles into Elena's IV when Ruth and Martin visit her. She escapes without being caught and kills another nurse. Body count for Dulce is now 8 1/2 murders and counting.
Andrea walks down the aisle on Eduardo arm but during the exchange of vows passes out.
A nurse discovers the dead nurse Dulce left behind in the bathroom and calls Elena's Dr. he then says they should look at the security camera to see who is responsible. Really do you have those available there? I thought how everyone walks in and out that you didn't have any type of security there. But nevermind that how about putting your fingerprints all over the syringe Dulce left behind.
Dulce tells Montecristo who was waiting for her that she wasn't successful at killing off Elena.
Rebecca is overcome and hysterical about Andrea.
Eduardo tells Clara and her children about Andrea's condition as Andrea is taken to the hospital.
Montecristo tries to get in to see Elena claiming to be her husband.
Andrea is on life support trying to stay alive.
Clara shows Milady's father his daughter for the first time.
Elena Lafe wakes up and has forgotten everything that has happened including giving birth and marrying Montecristo and Eduardo Oh boy we didn't see this coming now did we?
Dulce wants Dario to get access to Elena's money through the dummy company she has made up but Dario refuses, he was doing something on his computer before she showed up but closed it quickly.
Crazy gemela goes to Nena wanting to have a seance to talk to Daniela through her. As Latona slowly improves her speech and mobility under Nena and Anacleto's care.
Have caught up with messages both here and there and am up-to-date on the tapes as well. Don't understand it clearly as usual, but am being forced to listen to Spanish more carefully. Think that's helping some.
Still can't decide (understand) whether Aurora has Vanessa's number or not. Thought at one point she did, but with her new revenge on all attitude, I wonder.
Meanwhile, I'll keep checking both posting spots for explanations and comments from an always great group of people, Lois
I was so happy that Latona, Nena, & Anceleto out-smarted the evil Gemela when they escaped from their van & the train. The outcome was sorted of funny in as strange way. I love this novelas, it's positively fun!
Aurora -
It was heartwarming to see Aurora with her beloved dog.
