Vicki Makes New Friends and Lush-ous Leonela Longs for Auld Lang Syne

Capítulo 130

As Viewerville checks in for its nightly nosh of novela drek, Bernarda has accused Rudy Padilla of robbing her along with El Alacran and Rudy playing the wronged victim has accused Fausto; Maria (looking super sleek and chic sans the barrio braids) is excitedly talking with Max about going to the park with the two baby boys just like a real family; Padre Juan Pablo has overheard Fausto lying to Tomasa’s godson about her whereabouts; and Vic has just slapped the spit out of Leonela for having the brash balls to bring up Osvaldo’s trading Vic in for a newer model with half the miles and twice the bells and whistles a while back.

Osvaldo angrily throws Lush-ous out of the house and then begs Victoria to forgive him for what just happened.  Vic refuses to accept his apology and says screw it! As much as she continually tries to forget, somebody always manages to dredge it up again.

Outside the vecindad, Maria and Max run into their new super, Fausto, who tells them to be especially careful these days because of Padilla.  Yep, he says, he believes Padilla was the one who shot at them the other day because he had to rip away a rifle from him during Cruz and Fer’s wedding to avoid her getting shot at!  Maria wonders why the guy is so dead set on harming Max’s family. Max thanks Fausto who pledges life, limb and undying loyalty to Maria and their two babies.

In town, meanwhile, Padre Juan Pablo stops in at Casa Bernarda and begs his mama for the upmteenh time to repent of all her sins before it is too late.  She screams back at him--also for the umpteenth time--that she has nothing to repent for!  (After checking to see if, perchance, anything hanging on the walls is shaking, I start to think that this is beginning to sound like a broken record.  I mean, really JP needs to be a bit more creative here.  Come on! Let’s give the woman a reason already--something she really feels she can sink her fangs into!  Llamas del Infierno just doesn’t cut it!)

Handsome Dr. Heri meets Vicki for cake and coffee.  He feels like gettin’ chummy and says he wants to give her a backgrounder and then, afterwards, if he merits her trust, she can tell him her background.  (Viewerville wonders if he minored in psychiatry also or if he’s attracted to her.)  They start using the familiar “tú”.  Ruh-roh!

Eva pays a visit to Fausto and tells him to get his head on straight cuz Burnie was robbed and nearly killed the other night!  Fausto says too bad they didn’t succeed!  Eva says bad idea since the two of them need to get their pound of flesh from her first!  He doesn’t want to play family avenger anymore.  Eva tells him then that he has no right to remember his mama any longer.  He just gave up that right; he has betrayed her!

Back at the restaurant, Handsome Heri says there isn’t a day that he doesn’t think of his family, and he’s extremely grateful to Vic for letting him get it off his chest.  She’s grateful for the interest he’s taken in Fer’s attempt to walk again, she says.  Of course, his isn’t the only sad story to tell here and Vic gets a chance to tell him her tale of woe as well.  She confides after that she has little energy left and feels there’s nobody she can confide in really, since she found out her hubby was unfaithful to her, that is.  (So what’s Antonieta?  Chopped liver?)  They agree afterwards that the two of them have born heavy burdens of misfortune and misery and are companions in grief.  (I would say a groupie of grief in Victoria’s case.)   Heri takes her hand in his and squeezes.  She is no longer alone, he says, as he looks longingly into her eyes with deep, dark gem pools of his own and silently hopes for something more.  Ozzie, call your office!

At the same time across town at Casa Victoria Redux, Oscar asks Pepino to help him with a special request for that evening.  FF>>

Milagros and the two jarochas rehearse for the singing contest.  FF>>

Pepi makes a dinner date with Antonieta to discuss “something tragically upsetting” for him. FF>>

JP tells Padre Jeronimo that he feels like a failure since he cannot get his mama to repent.  Padre Jerry and he decide to pray that some day he will see her do exactly that.  FF>>

Guillermo stops by Casa Burnarda to suggest that she help him out financially or he will start looking into why it disturbs her so much that Maria Desamparada and Her Son The Priest are so close.  Yeah, he quips, her son may be holier-than-thou, but he’s a saint who’s apparently not without sin of some sort, right? He struts out and leaves her thinking that she’s got to get rid of “that sin” in order to keep her son’s reputation unsullied.

Back at Hotel Casa Vieja, Lush-ous Looni-ella contiues to drown her sorrows, first with the dregs of her bottle of booze and, then, in a luxurious bubble bath, reminiscent of days gone by when being Leonela Montenegro actually meant something. (Otherwise, I see no reason for that gratuitous bathroom bit except to give a few old farts a start with hopes of getting a view of her more or less private parts.  Geez!)

That night, Pepi and Toni meet at the restaurant where Mesero Oscar surprises her with an engagement ring for her main course and a violin table serenade for dessert.  FF>>

El Alacrán digs up the lock box with the money and papers they stole from Burnie’s safe.  “Good riddance to you, Padilla!”  FF>>

Vic is now back home, moping alone on her bed and remembering Handsome Heri’s honeyed tones and comforting words from earlier in the day, when she suddenly gets a jarring call from his totally opposite number.  “-What in the hell do you want??!!”  “--To do you a favor, in exchange for a large sum of money.”  What would that be? He’ll tell her who her daughter is!!  Why should she believe him?  Because he knows the name she couldn’t remember Burnarda whispering in her ear when she was still unconscious from the effects of the anesthesia in the hospital!!  Well, then!  That’s definitely a horse’s ass of a different color!  He gives her the address of where to meet him.  Be there or be square!

Capítulo 131

Osvaldo notices Victoria racing out of the house with her purse.  He decides to follow her.

Bernarda pays a visit to Fausto at the vecindad.  She wants him to scare Maria Desamparada away from the vecindad and hopefully she’ll even leave town.  Fausto refuses and tells Burnie that she better not try anything, either!  Just how does he think he’s going to stop her?  By reporting her to the police for Tomasa’s murder, but also for Rosalia and Gonzalo as well.  Burni is swallow-hard-impactada.

As PJP prays for his mama’s soul, Fausto informs Ste. Burnarda that he knows each and every one of her sins and begins to tell her what he remembers of the day his face got scarred:  the house locked from the outside, the flames burning his toys and both his parents; the way his father tried to find a hole for them to escape from but then was stopped because a burning beam fell down on his mother; how his father then, with the last of what strength remained, broke a window and threw him out of it, thereby saving his life.

“Aha! So you are Gonzalo’s bastard son and the cursed reason he wouldn’t leave your mother!”  “--Wrong, Sra.! I was not his son, ” he corrects her.  The only bastard in this story was the one she gave birth to--Padre Juan Pablo--the sin that has tormented her all her life!  She slaps him and yells at him to stifle.  Fausto stares her down, almost daring her to try that again!

In the old parts of the city, it’s Padilla and Victoria, twenty years later, same game, round two.  He’s still lookin’ for a little satisfaction. (Hell, if Ozzie can’t get no satisfaction, maybe Padilla shouldn’t be so cock-rock sure, either.)  Rudy taunts her.  She screams back at him that she came for the name.  Money first, please.  Be charitable!  He wouldn’t know the meaning of the word!  Sure he does, he says.  It means exchanging the good for the bad.  Vicki demands to know why he’s so bent on hurting her family.  He blames her daughter again for killing his son and she tells him the kid did it to himself!  Slap!!  Now give her the name of her daughter!  He wants to be paid and she says he knows full well that she hasn’t got any money to pay him with.  Well then, says Paunchy Padilla, there are other ways. Vicki sucks in her breath.

Back at the fancy restaurant, Pepi watches Toni accept Oscar’s proposal and wonders if he’ll ever find that special someone.  Up behind him walks Luluciano and we (thankfully) can FFFFFFFFFF>>>>>>>>>>>

Returning to Vic and Rudy, he waxes moronically metaphysical and says something about how life has brought them together again...blah, blah, blah...and that she excites him even more than before.  “--Don’t you come near me!!”  (Excuse me, but whatever happened to stopping off at the local Carrefour’s for a pocket sized can of hairspray or some such? I mean, we are talking about a night-time meet with social menace, raper of women, and otherwise brute extraordinaire, Rudy-Pain-in-the-Patooty-Padilla, remember????)  He jumps her, but she manages to eventually fight him off and says all right, just be gentle.   He begins to take off his jacket and starts mumbling some crazy crap he thinks is sexy.  He jumps for her again and she gets him good in his jewelery box before racing off into the dark.  He finds her and gives her a couple of right hooks in the jaw before knocking her down and jumping on top of her unconscious and defective goods.

Ozzie arrives at the abandoned warehouse just in time to save Vic from the sorry S.O.B.  He throws himself at Rutting Rudy and the rumble’s on.   Oz manages to give Rudy the bloodiest beating of his life--loan sharks not withstanding--and swears he’ll kill him for daring to lay hands on his wife, not to mention what he did to Vicki all those years ago!

Back at Fausto’s place, Burnie screams back demands to know what he and Eva had planned.  He says for himself, it was a means of avenging his mother and father’s death until he confessed all to PJP who convinced him not to do it.  Burnie is suck-it-in-impactada and demands then to know what said to Juan Pablo. Fausto fesses up to telling him everything, to the last snap, crackle and pop!   She is definitely S.F. & D. impactada at this revelation!  Oh, yeah, he’d love to wrench her neck but he won’t because altho’ he’s ugly and damaged goods on the outside, he is a good person on the inside.  She could care, of course and demands him and his aunt to leave the next morning!  Fausto “reminds” her that Eva isn’t his aunt and has no idea of his past.  However, if Burnie dares to harm a hair on her head she’ll be sorry for it. (Having had my first--and hopefully last--run in with fire-ants in Florida, I suggest dumping the old gal on a hill of those little critters and let ‘em have at it if she tries anything.  Talk about your llamas del infierno!)  “--She’s always been loyal to you and you will never find another one like her, I guarantee it.”  “--We’ll see!”  Burnie picks up her purse and walks out the door.

Once more we’re ringside at the warehouse free for all and Vicki is trying to pull Oz off Padilla because she’s scared to death that Oz really will kill him (and can you imagine the hell to pay for that in the press and with the police?)

Fausto races after Burnie and tells her that if she dares try to spill blood again he'll go straight to Her Son The Priest and tell him everything!  (The rest of this is a bit disjointed since he was speaking through clenched teeth.)  He forces her to look him in the eye and see the suffering she has caused!  Fausto wonders why it's necessary for her to cause so much suffering. He carries the scars on the outside, but she wears just as many of them on her soul!  Fausto gets her to shed a tear or two --but for whom and why, we haven't a clue.  She  tells him to just shut up and then walks away.  Maria, who has watched them arguing from a distance, walks up and asks what Burnarda came to talk to him about. "--The truth.  She came and heard the truth."

Over at Hotel Casa Vieja, Loonie is down to her last drop and suffering for it.  Downstairs at the reception desk, meanwhile, Handsome Dr. Heri finds out from the clerk that Looni-ella Montenegro is  Max's mother and that she is also a drunk. Heri asks if he can go up and visit with her.  Pedro, the clerk in charge, worries about not having prior permission from Max, but Dr. Heri takes charge and says never fear.  She's destroying the place again looking for a bottle of something when he comes knocking on the door and asks if he can talk to her a bit.

Back at Casa Scandal-val, Oz gives Vicki grief for going out that late at night to see that scoundrel without telling him.  Ok.  He's right, but she was taken with the desire to find out her daughter's name.

At the warehouse, Rudy through much blood, sweat and a few well-deserved sniveling tears, swears (what else?) revenge.

Heri tells Looni that he remembers Leonela Montenegro was a famous actress who mysteriously disappeared quite a while back.  Lush-ous says she'd rather not talk about it.  He apologizes for starting off with such informal chatter, and then formally introduces himself.  She dispenses with formalities and is definitely impressed with the M.D. in front of his name.  He says he's there to discuss something they both have in common: a problem with alcohol.

Meanwhile, back at Vic and Ozzie's, she's crying tears of frustration because she can't seem to remember the name Burnarda told her.  Oz says it's in there and when she's least expecting it, it will pop out and she'll remember it then.  She wonders if she's dealt with her recently but simply wouldn't have known.

Rudy makes it to his car and bemoans the fact that ever since his kid died, his life has turned to crap.  (As compared to what, I ask?)  He wonders if kids automatically become angels in heaven, because surely his would have become a devil instead.  (I believe this was what he was getting at.)

El Alacran has returned to the old warehouse with the dug up box of loot.  He hasn't any tools and can't get the chain off, so he goes out to find a locksmith or somebody to who can help him with it.

At the same time, Dr. Heri begins telling Lush-ous how he lost his wife to breast cancer and, due to a drunk driver,  his two kids on the very same day.  Leonela is touched by the story.  Heri mentions that he also happens to be the doctor who operated on her son's sister in order to help her walk again; if there's hope they can do more with Fer in the future then there's obviously hope for Lush-ous also.  At least, that's the way she takes it.  She agrees she has an illness and promises to work through the alcoholism for her son's sake.

Upstairs in Vic's bedroom, she and Ozzie have just cleaned up and are in their bath robes.  She's trying to clean up the cut on his face.  They share a moment of closeness when she decides it's time to show him her scar and wonders if he'll be able to stomach it.  Oz looks at the empty place on her chest and tries to comfort her.  She's still not out of danger yet and is scared she may still die.  She begs him to hold her tightly.

Rudy unlocks the box of Burnie's loot and stuffs it all into a pillowcase.

Maria and Max are sharing some quiet time on the couch.  Maria says she can't understand why her grandmother hates her so much and why every time she sees Maria she tries to hurt her somehow.

Speaking of La Abuela esa, she's currently ripping Rudy a new one for screwing up the supposed hit job on El Alacran.  Rudy says he's sorry, but he thought the guy was dead!  Seems he has more lives than a darned cat!  Rudy found him tonight hangin' with his buds and havin' a few brews.  "--Damn that dog!  Biting the hand that feeds him!"  Does Rudy know where he is right now?  Yeah, sure, says Rudy.  Great, says Burnie.  We're going to settle this thing once and for all!  They head for the old warehouse.  Scorpion Dud blames everything on Rudy and claims he's got the only key.  Rudy swears he has no key!  The key!  The key!  My life's fortune for that key!  Rudy picks it up out of the hiding place and opens the locked box.  "--There's nothing there!  El Alacran has taken it all!"  Burnie grabs Scorpion Dud by the collar and demands to know where her money is.  He has no idea and claims that Padilla has set a trap for him.  "--How can you accuse me of being your accomplice after stabbing Padre Juan Pablo?!!"  Scorpion Dud begs forgiveness for his mistake.  Burnarda turns around and goes for the gun in Rudy's belt hidden underneath his jacket.  She turns back around and shoots.  Scorpion Dud sputters his last.  She then turns the gun on Rudy.

Will somebody please post this to the side? Thanks!

P.2. Is coming.

Jardinera,

Thanks so much. I love your take on the bath. Jeez, unbelievable.

I'm losing heart. Last night's was a particularly long and and discouraging episode.

I do wish that JP would stop worrying about his mother's immortal soul and worry more about the damage she continues to do!

Gracias por parte uno, Jardinera.

So Victoria spills her guts to a stranger & has kept the secrect from her family for a couple of decades, WTF?????!!!!! It's getting so that I can't stand her stupid character. Can't blame Osvaldo for straying.

If I counted right, it was a 2 slap night
Bernarda/Fausto
Victoria/Padilla

Is anyone watching Cuando Me Enamoro, I sure would like to see Silvia Navarro, but it's just not a convenient time. It HAS to be better than this basura. I really do like Daniela Romo's performance though, she really does evil justice & reason to stay with it.

Tonight 7PM EST
Camino a Premios TV y Novelas

I see the Premios ad saying Domingo, but don't see it in my TV guide.

Did Leonela drink the bottle of bath soap, because it was full when she began and completely empty when she finished?

I guess Leonela's bath was for all the LindaHo lovers, who missed butt cracks in the air and gyrations.

And how can Max put Leonela up in a secured hotel room where nobody can get in or out except on Max's orders, but Maria and baby JP are still living in the vecindad?

Hi Jardinera. As perhaps the only old fart watching this, let me give you my take on Leonela's bath. I think that she is quite beautiful (especially lovely legs), but the scene was a bit troubling. I was afraid we were watching a suicide in progress. I thought for sure that once comfortably ensconced amidst those luxurious bubbles, that she would grasp an elegant straight razor, draw it smoothly across her delicate wrists, and we'd then see bright red blood join our lush and those luscious foamy billows.

Well, thankfully that didn't happen, but then she dropped her head beneath the water... suicide by drowning? Fortunately... nopis.

Of course, I rewound and watched a second time... just to make sure that she was really OK.

Carlos

So I guess the crew were all exhausted after the big wedding, and needed to phone in a couple episodes? This was totally draggy. And that bubble bath, reeedeeeeeeeculous. And so looooooooong. The recap, though, not dull at all. Agree on all points.

It seems like we've been in a holding pattern for a long time. Vic, quit wailing and keeping secrets. Also, quit disregarding Antonieta. PJP, give up already on your mother. She's an evil nutcase and begging her isn't going to change that. Eva and Fausto, quit twiddling your thumbs and actually get your revenge on Burnie somehow. Max, quit talking about marrying Maria and actually do it. Maria, take a little initiative as regards your own safety. Sheesh.

Jardinera - Thank you for the recap! I love the alliteration in your first line. :o)

VarioPinta - I saw the ad on TV for Premios on Sunday night, if that helps.

Thanks for the recap, Jardinera654. I am traveling and have not yet seen the episode.

Thanks, Jardinera. Yikes. The violence in this show is getting to me. Also, Leo's Calgon moment was bizarre. Carlos~~~I, too, thought that Leo might be considering death by bubblebath. I, too, noticed that the bottle of bb was almost empty. Well, I guess Leo knows that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Anyhoo, it was an odd scene amongst the angst and darkness of the episode. Cue the kayak for me. I need to move on. Luis, where are you ? I'm waiting for you impatiently.

The scene where Victoria shows Osvaldo her scar is exquisitely played and written. For all the medical sloppiness in this show, the actors brought their A-game to this emotionally resonant moment.

Another nice bit of acting -- the look on Padilla's face while Demente is shooting Scorpion guy.

Fausto's outburst took me by surprise. I hope he doesn't end up paying for it.

At first I was a little irritated by the only gay couple in the story being shown as a couple of buffoons. But then I turned the Harrumphers on my PC detector way way down when I remembered that just about everyone in this story is shown as a buffoon.

Carlos: You are forever 21 in my eyes! I doubt you've got one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel, now do you? ; ? )) My take on Lush-ous was that she was too vain to cut her veins.

Jardinera - Thanks for part 2! It's even more fun to read than part 1. I had trouble understanding a lot of Fausto & Burn-arda's conversation for some reason, so your recap is extra helpful.

I thought the Os/Vic/scar scene was well done.

I thought the conversation between Leonela & Dr. Voice was very well done.

I also thought killing off Scorpion Dud was well done, and the only thing Burnie has done right. I doubt we're done with Rudy yet.

I was also anticipating a suicide attempt by Leonela. Her constant "nobody pays attention to me" whinefest is the perfect lead-in to one. Considering the amount of booze she consumes my vote is still with alcohol poisoning.

As to Max's mixed-up priorities I believe this is about Leonela being the kind of high-maintenance b1tch that gives all women a bad name and Maria not being demanding.

Besides the one unsafe element in that slum -- El Alarcan -- was there at Bernarda's orders. Maria doesn't really need to fear anything else there and there is nowhere that Max could have hidden her from Dona Dementa. Even with El Alarcan out of the way, Bernarda will find some way to torment her.

Ximeana and Guillermo are just as relentless. The only safety measure that could potentially work is a high-security apartment building with additional bodyguards, the latter of which Maria would probably not consent to.

As to JP's apparent denial of his ability to exorcise Bernarda's evil, I can only compare it to the reverse situation with a parent who can't see evil in his/her child (like Roxana most of the time).

I think Fausto made a huge mistake with Dona Dementa.

Monday's episode should be quite explosive.

I liked the part where (I think) Osvaldo told Victoria that he shouldn't dirty his hands beating down Rudy...then proceeded to kick him. LOL!!!

Thanks, Jardinera! Impressive recap of a not so impressive episode.

I did like Fausto telling Burnie his truth. He showed some power, even if he ends up paying a price for it. Not everyone has the strength to confront her like that.

The scene with Vicki and Oz was another strong one. Aren't they still divorced? Maybe they'll have a double wedding with Maria and Max.
La Paloma

Another thumbs up for the scar scene. Really well done. There is nothing better than a couple of pros bringing thier A game to remind me why I watch novelas in the first place.

Carlos is right. The actress playing Leonela is a beautiful women. I hadn't really noticed it till after the bath scene because they dress her so outrageously and she is always brining the crazy. She and Diego must be a knockout together. Any way I also saw suicide coming not a froth fest. Lots of time wasting for no apparent reason.

I've come to the conclusion the PJP needs to have a load of bricks fall on his handsome head in order to finally get it that his mother is beyond redemption. I guess she'll have to attack Maria or Vic with a knife in front of him before he sees the extent of her evil. I'm starting to add him to the the pretty but dumb list along with everyone else.

For what is it worth it looked in the previews that "The Truth" about Maria is going to come out on Monday just when Vic is having one of her snit fits about the girl marrying Max. In addition to her cancer she is clearly bi polar in my mind.

Dani and others who have said Vic is bipolar???? I have been a mental health therapist for 20 years. Vic has no resemblence to bipolar?? Bipolar is exceptional energy, confidence, impulsivity, poor judgment, rapid and pressured speech, etc. or the Bipoar II when the person is just totally agitated, irritable whether manic or depressed. Vic has none of this. She is just self centered and possibly suffering from abandonment issues herself causing borderline personality, but not bipoar.

In one of the latest Teresa discussions someone posted a link to a photo gallery of the different versions of that story. Here is that same person's gallery of this series and 3 other versions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqCMCcJLePs

It doesn't include Sacrificio de Mujer which has bigger casting sins except for Pablo Azar as the Max/Victor Manuel character.

Right now, we are twenty one-hour episodes behind Mexico. If the 2-hour/2-capítulos on Looneyvision continues, we could catch up with Mexico in two weeks. Perhaps Looneyvision wants this to end on the same day it does in Mexico.(?)

Thanks Jardinera. Like Doris, I think part 2 is even more fun. For some reason:

"He begins to take off his jacket and starts mumbling some crazy crap he thinks is sexy."

was downright hilarious to me.

What is so frustrating to me is that if Vicky would just reach out a bit (and I don't mean to Padilla) she could quickly learn the identity of her daughter. Doesn't everyone but she know that Padre JP is Maria's daddy?

I really enjoyed that little song that Milagros and the Jarochas were rehearsing... very cute and very catchy.

I also thought the scene between Vicky and Ozzy was very affecting and played absolutely perfectly.

Anon 207:

"I liked the part where (I think) Osvaldo told Victoria that he shouldn't dirty his hands beating down Rudy..."

When he said that I shouted, "Well at least give him a couple of kicks!"

"...then proceeded to kick him."

How satisfying...

I hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial weekend.

Carlos

They know that JP is Maria's father:

Maria
Max
Nathi
Milagros
Alonso

They might know JP is Maria's father:

JuanJo
Cruz
Fausto
Eva

These people know that JP is the father of Victoria's missing hija:

Toni
Pipino
Oscar
Osvaldo

These people know both facts:

JP (obviously)
Bernarda
Padilla
Padre Jeronimo

Three of Bernarda's victims died because they knew too much:

Octavio
Tomasa
Sr. Clementina (knew it all)

Padilla is a sitting duck. I don't know how much detail the bishop knows, but he is also in danger.

Jardinera- What a wonderful Sunday treat. So witty. I came home just as Maria and Max were about to go their merry way for a walk with the babies. When they looked at Fausto like he was crazy and asked what possible danger there could be, I shut off the tv after screaming WTH?!!!! Uhm, let's see...you have both survived repeated, and unsloved, murder attempts, and your baby was kidnapped by a mysterious stranger (since you still haven't bothered to find out the truth). You don't think there's some danger involved? I could not watch any more. But it looks like I missed some good stuff with reveals from Fausto to Burnie, the Padilla/Oz beatdown, and Alacran getting offed by Burnie. I may just watch my recording and fast forward through the filler (which sounds like it's most of it).

Thanks, Jar. I'm with you on all the FF, but the interminable scene for me was Leo with all the fake bubble bath conveniently masking what every honest hombre wanted to see. It also reminds me that after a bath, there is always a ring and the tub needs to be cleaned.

I'm disgusted with Meh-jia for teasing us about a possible suicide attempt--I fell for it, too. I could only hope it would be Dr. Her-Hermoso who would burst in to save her.

Stupid, stupid Vic--and so soon after surgery, goes trotting off to see a guy who is bigger and stronger than she is and who has violated her and threatened her before. Kudos to Os for following and not just standing there with one hand outstretched, saying Victoria, Victoria, espere, donde vas?

I'm confused about who knows what about Maria D and can't go back to earlier episodes. Doesn't Os already know that PJP is Maria's biological dad? Seems to me I remember PJP admitting it in the foyer of Os house. Victoria must not have been present otherwise the story would be over. If Os wants to help her find the lost child, couldn't he tell her he knows who the padre is and take it from there? Hmm. Same reason as always, the story would end there.
NOK

Oh, and Anon207--I love your list of mis-deeds. It keeps growing. I wonder how many more you'll add before this is over.
NOK

I don't know about bi-polar, but I do know that Victoria is suffering from Mejiaitis & it's incurable.

UA--Didn't see your list until after I posted my query.

This clarifies AND complicates things for me. I'll have to study it again, type it out on a fresh sheet of paper, draw lines from one group to the other, etc. etc.

My word verification this time is lushies--a la Leonela!!
NOK

I also thought that Ozzy was aware that Padre JP is Maria's daddy and that Vicky refuses to tell him who fathered her missing daughter.

Carlos

Carlos

PJP told Os or rather admitted he was the father of Vic's missing daughter and I think you are right Vic has never told him that PJP was the father but she did tell Toni. All we need is for one of the people who knows PJP's story to blurt it out in front of Vic and it would be clear. I'm am devoutly hoping it happens on Monday so we can get rid of all the inevitable recriminations, I hate you, I don't believe it and the final falling into each other's arms sobbing scenes and move on to get justice for all of Bernie's other victims.

Jardinera i don't know how you do it but your recaps were better than the episodes. Thank you.

I don't know why we got treated to Loonie's bubble bath was this really necessary?

Gui threatening Bernie oh that's not going to go over well with her now is it?

PJP stop praying for your demented mother's lost soul and just call the cops. Really at this point i consider you a accomplice for all the crimes she's committing she refuses to repent so now turn her in.

Victoria what happen to all that money you supposedly had when you offered to pay off Maria D. for her baby? I guess after Fer's operation and yours you're now crying poverty huh?

Variopinta ROTF Definitely Vic has something. I was the one that spoke of the symptoms of Bipolar Disorder. Vic is too calm ongoing. sure she gets mad and she has strong opinions, but she isn't manic. But she is something ROTF. I am wondering if Vic has such strong feelings regarding Maria, because Maria looks like her and reminds vic of vic Vic had to struggle all her life and looking at Maria reminds her of this?

I wonder to what degree Victoria hates herself and possibly envies Maria, who has somehow avoided becoming bitter.

She is also repeating Bernarda's behavior because the has somehow internalized that one is either in control or being controlled.

After months of enjoyment, this TN is getting on my nerves and it isn't anywhere near finished!

Thanks to all the recappers for giving us great recaps to fill in the holes & opportunities for great snark!

I, too, was wondering what was up with Leo & the bath tub. Was Gui perhaps under the bubbles? Or was she about to do herself in? Otherwise, I'm not sure what was the purpose.

On my local pbs spanish station, I notice there is a new tn beginning, which has asian characters. I was wondering, is it any good? Has anyone else seen it or know about it? I don't remember the name of it - just TdA is really burning me out. I need a new tn to watch & Teresa just annoys me.

I did enjoy watching Fer & Cruz's wedding. Fer was gorgeous & I noticed Cruz has his beard back by the end of the reception - his hair must grow really fast! How does he afford seeing his barber so often? lol

I found photos online of Diego & Monica - they are a gorgeous couple. Must be fun to be on the same show together. I hope we more of them on other tn's.

I caught most of the Premios last night, at least the most important, Fernando Colunga won for Soy tu duena. His acceptance was taped, sigh.

I dozed & missed best actress, anyone know who it was?

Variopinta: Best Actress went to Angelique Boyer.....ack!!

Thanks for the various links, folks to the comparison casts! Those were definitely interesting. As for your various and diverse opinions and comments, again... different strokes for different folks. It does make for great reading. Now that the various questions are getting answered, TDA's begun to get interesting again.
All we need is to get the rest of the villanos punished and Dr. Heri set up with Lush-ous and we're set for a new telenovela. Anybody know what comes after this one?

Anon, I agree, ack.
They showed this in Mex a few month ago, so I knew it wasn't Lucero. We discussed it here.

Wikipedia says Dos Hogares is next.
I'll ck it out. Hopefully not Mejia.

Here's a link to Dos Hogares.

I've not read your recap ( or any of the others or seen anything at all) but thank you, Jardinera.

As I perused the titles of the recaps, it would appear that there has been a Cruz/Fer wedding. I'll have to track that one down on Daily Motion.

Miracles of miracles, I actually have the day off today, so was able to watch Premios last night.

Vario: I am not surprised that Boyer won. I realise that it's a matter of 'primacy vs recency', but even though it's been a while since having seen STuD, I think the writers for "Teresa" provided Boyer with a much more interesting and well thought out character than did the writers for Lucero's 'Valentina'. It seemed like we always knew what Val's response would be, whereas in the few capitulos I have seen of "Teresa", one never knows what nasty deed Teresa will do next.

Will Boyer become another Hayek? I think it is too early to tell.

As you know, Colunga has always been 'my man', but was surprised that Sebastian Rulli did not win. Both Rulli himself, and the hosts of the evening, (Paty Navidad, etc) stated that his part had been well written and had really allowed him to grow as an actor. I am liking that adorable Rulli more and more. Based upon his comments when interviewed, etc he strikes me as a 'thinking' kind of man. I like it!

Could have been my imagination, but Boyer's dresses reminded me of the outfits I have seen her wear on "Teresa". If I heard correctly, she sticks to one designer she has used for some time.

@ Carlos: Amigo! Where are you?! I thought of you last night when I saw Lanus being interviewed for his role in "Llena". That had to have been the most convoluted TN I have ever seen, but your re-caps were priceless. How is the little hamster, by the way?...and Lanus shows up dressed so blah in black. Oh well...I guess his lovely voice made up for it.

Jacqueline Andere looked elegant (though I would have picked a different colour of dress against her red hair) and Goyri looked handsome. I was disappointed that Goyri did not win.

I see that the woman from "Cuando me Enamoro" won. Can someone tell me more about her? Is she Mexican? She has an interesting name. Did she win in the 'evil person' category?

"Para Volver a Amar" literally swept the evening awards. I tried watching it, but seeing so many women mentally, physically, and emotionally abused was too much. I abandoned it.

I liked all of the theme songs that were presented except the one that was sung by FannyLu (is that her name?) It didn't do much for me and was sad that the STuD theme was not included, but I guess it didn't make the voting cut.

Oz Rios looked his ever so handsome self as a presenter.

Maite Perroni always looks like the perennial 'little girl' to me, but I will grant you that she did sing the duet quite nicely for 'A partir de hoy'.

X-Factor lost points in the wardrobe department with the black shoes and a red dress. Surely, there could have been a better match for the red dress than black shoes!

I liked the Iglesias theme for "Cuando" and liked hearing him sing. Also enjoyed Fonsi singing the theme for "Llena" which I always enjoyed hearing.

...and Colunga...does he always miss these events? He has now won 5 awards, but was not there. Come on, Colunga...you really could not have been there?

As you can see, I have had major TN withdrawal. I've seen nothing of any of my TN, but have bored you with the blow by blow of the Premios. Ha! Thanks for bearing with me...it was just good to see some of these actors. They do bring enjoyment to us all. Makes me wish I had their job!

Oh...before I forget...Tizzy was wearing her Tizzy hair! I did like her blouse (or dress...I don't remember if it was a blouse/skirt ensemble or dress).

Now...to do nothing for the day.

Susanita

I was surprised that TDA was completely dissed at the awards. At least Bernarda could have been nominated for the villain.

Anon
TDA will be next year, remember it's not finished in Mex yet.
I don't expect anything from anyone but Daniela Romo.

BTW does anyone knows what is going on with the TDA writer Liliana Abud and Willian Levy?
It looks like that they all want to finish this TN as soon is possible.Bad publicity for all the actors.

I don't blame any of the actors for wanting to end this basura as quickly as possible.

From their standpoint the sooner the better then they get to hopefully a better novela with a better writer and producer to cleanse away the stench from this garbage.

There are rumours that Abud has left the novela after a confrontation with Mejía. I'd say she'd do herself a favor if she dropped him entiredly, she's actually a good writer: La Otra, Amarte es Mi Pecado, Barrera de Amor and Los Parientes Pobres were all her original stories and she has adapted stories like Desencuentro, Piel de Otoño, El Vuelo del Águila, La Antorcha Encendida, etc. The big difference is that in those were novelas she worked with better producers (Carla Estrada, Ernesto Alonso, Carlos Sotomayor) and she wrote what they wanted in their style, Mejía keeps asking her to write crap instead.

Jarocha

Jarocha i can't blame her if this is true because what Mejia has done with this story is beyond terrible. He's all over the place with the story and has made it extremely disjointed.I happened to like Piel De Otono so if the writer has made this story with instructions from her producer i don't blame her.

As much you all hate TDA and thinks is a vasura, I still enjoy the novela, after watching General Hospital and All my children for years I think the spanish novela is much better. Anyway I'm new I only watched Mi pecado, Eva Luna and TDA. I don't like the way Mejia made Max and Maria a weak person. When I talk over with friends their answer is that is TN.
What do I know. My spanish is not good either.

I agree Mejia has turn this novela into a major basura and it's hard to watch much less comprehend what in the world is he doing with this story? Sorry i don't even know if it's worth trying to stick out to the end.But it does look like Uni is trying to end it as quick as possible by bringing back the double episodes.

I think tonight's episodes proves my point. Total mess i said this before he has made the Victoria character seem like she is bi-polar or she is another serious mental case in need of some serious long term therapy. How long has Max told her he wanted to marry Maria D. now that he is free of her hand picked daughter in law from hell she still objects? What happen last week she was all forgiving with Maria D. and seem to accept her now this it makes no sense.

Blusamurai

I totally agree with you. Vitoria probably has Alzheimer’s she forgot that she accepted Maria a while ago. ha.. I remember because she thought she was dying now that she is cured she the old Vitoria is back.

The bathtub scene was completely unnecessary, but quite obviously was a metaphor for masturbation!

Can I just say I really like Fausto, his character is under appreciated. They writers made him so interesting though. Go Fausto......
