Mentir Para Vivir #85 Wed 2/5/14 Little Orphan Alina

Spy vs Juez
Homero pays a surprise after-hours visit to the judge.  “QTH? Whatta ya want,” cries the judge.  Homero demands justice.  He feels that if he hadn’t interfered, Alina would be home w/Ricky and Ines would be with Paloma.  But noooooo, judge had to have his little, miserable revenge (desquite).  “You ain’t all that,” replies the judge.  Homero advises him he’s got a good sized file of his errors:  petty vengeance, bribes, unlawful judgements.  He demands that Alina be returned to Ricky and Ines out of that jail ASAP.  Judge thinks he can do something about Alina’s plight (thank goodness), but Ines? No! He has a witness that says Ines kidnapped that child.  Furthermore, Ricky is purportedly behind a grand scheme that puts Ines and Alina at the tia’s beach house, supposedly on vacation.  Judge refuses to give up his source.  Homer accuses him of being more stubborn than a mule.  Furthermore, he’s a bad person.  (now that hurt!)

Spy Cave
Homero talks to someone over the phone about what’s happened to Ines, even though she was a protected witness.  copy/paste: She’s being accused of kidnapping but she had the adoptive parent’s permission.  In addition, she voluntarily took the child to the orphanage and turned herself in.  Guy on the other end can’t believe it.  Homer continues, saying the judge is only doing this because he hates Homero.  They were in the Universidad together but he’s always been envious of Homer’s successes and now he’s out for vengeance.  He insists Ines is innocente and he demands that Alina’s case be assigned to another judge.  He knows that with just one call, the guy on the phone can fix everything.  It’s not like he’s asking for something improper (indebido).  It’s a matter of justice and it shouldn’t be at the whim of some judge.  He wants Ines free with her child by her side.  Without her, he can’t be on top of the Falcon matter.  Falcon is on the brink of opening a new business and Ines is their only connection to Falcon. The guy on the phone agrees to see what he can do and Homer tells him to hurry it up.

Dinner at Ricky’s
Fidelia and Maricoo-coo are dining in silence.  (I wouldn’t break bread with that coo-coo bird).  Ricky is on the phone with Homer.  Homer is sure someone at Ricky’s is giving the judge all the scoop on the vacation-at-the-beach storyline.  The judge knows every detail.  Ricky slyly sidles up next to Maricoo-coo and snatches her phone away and checks her call.  He finds a call to the judge and accuses her of telling the judge about tia’s beach house story.  She denies it.  He insists she told the judge all about the beach plan.  She denies it again.  She fibs and says she called the judge about letting Alina come home from the orphanage.  “LIAR!”  Now she accuses Fermin or Chelito.  Fidelia pipes in, saying they would never do such a thing.  She wonders why Maricoo-coo would do such a thing to Ines after everything she’s been through.  Maricoo-coo denies it yet again.  “You’re despicable (despreciable)!” seethes Ricky.  She threatens to divorce him.  “Oh no, we’re going to stay married.  You’ve already harmed Ines, you’re not going to harm Alina as well.  If you’re questioned, you’ll have to come up with some story seeing as there’s no end to your lies!”  Marilu leaves in a huff.  Fidelia can’t believe what a monster she’s turned into and doesn’t understand why.  When they were all at the beach house together, she was so nice and affectionate with Ines. Ricky supposes she changed when he proposed the marriage (duh, you think?).  Fidelia wonders if he really plans to stay married to her.  He plans to stay married until Alina returns.  What bout Ines, asks Fidelia.  Her situation will surely get worse after everything Marilu has said.  Ricky is exasperated.

It’s a hard knock life…..
Alina is very sad and is refusing to eat or attend class at the orphanage.  The social worker tells her that it’s not a question of what she wants.  There are rules that must be obeyed.  Alina doesn’t budge.  She pouts and says she wants her Mami. (poor little lamb)  Social worker says that when her mother comes to visit and finds that Alina hasn’t eaten or followed rules, she’ll be disappointed.  Is that what Alina wants?  Alina shakes her head.  The social worker encourages her to eat and then attend her classes.

Cueva del Zorro
Zorro is telling Antonio he’s in charge of the matter.  Antonio is sure Ricky or Paloma have already hired an attorney for Ines.  JL tells him to threaten, bribe, pressure, do anything.  All he knows is he wants them both freed.  Tony doesn’t know if he’ll have time today because he needs to attend the investor meeting at Aresti Breton.  Tony brings up the Aresti Breton shares held by Matilde and Lila.  JL has apparently changed his mind over this matter.  He doesn’t care if they sell the shares or convert them or whatever; the only thing that matters to him now are his wife and daughter.  He’s really bothered by Joaquin’s absence.  They always worked well together.  He doesn’t know what will happen with Samuel.

Brotherly love in a hospital, somewhere in Phoenix Arizona
Joaquin continues in a comatose state as his daughter  hovers over him.  Off camera his wife is advising the doctor they don’t want to “disconnect” him. (boy has this subject ever been in the news lately).  Samuel counsels his sister-in-law (cuñada).  It makes no sense to keep him alive.  If he were to come out of that coma now, he’d have irreversible brain damage (bwahaha).  Doctor tells Mrs. Joaquin they have not done any studies to determine if he’s had cerebral damage.  Samuel now tries with his niece, Jacky (natch).  “Your father’s been like this for a few days already without the slightest improvement.”  Addressing both mother and daughter, “Do you want to prolong his suffering for who knows how many  years? (again, BWA-HA-HA) Jacky says she and her mother will decide.  Wifey speaks to her husband tenderly, “Negro you have to get better, please.  Do it for us, for our children who are still young and can’t be left without a father.  What will we do without you?” Jackie pipes in, “Papa, you’ve always been a strong man.  You have to wake up.”  Samuel agains asks them to accept the fact that his hour has come.  There is nothing to be done.  (bwa-ha-ha-ha). Jackie turns to her uncle—my father is not dead!  Samuel turns away from her with a look like he’s thinking, “well, we’ll see about that.

Jailhouse
Paloma arrives to visit Ines, accompanied by her nurse.  They’ve also brought Ines some food.  Prison guard tells her they’ll have to review the food before it’s allowed (at last, a telenovela prison with some rules and regulations!)  All we get to see is a bottle of water and an apple with nary a file in sight!  A pitiful Ines greets Abuela.  They’re both in tears.  This is no place for Paloma, says Ines.  “My place is always with you, no matter where you are,” says Paloma.  Ines apologizes but Paloma knows she did the impossible to avoid ending up in a place like this.  Ines says she had no other choice.  What pains her now is what’s happening to Alina.  Has Ricardo done anything about that?  Paloma promises he’s moving heaven and earth to save Alina, and Ines as well.

Uh-oh, JL has arrived and tells the front desk he’s there to see Ines.  When he’s told she already has a visitor, he explains he’s her husband as though this will part the Red Sea.  Guard tells him sorry but rules state prisoners are only allowed one visitor at a time.  He tells JL she’s with her abuela now.  “Su abuela.”  Clearly JL is disgusted.  He turns and gives Paloma’s nurse a steely look and repeats, “Su abuela.”

Aresti Breton meeting w/Las Brujas
Matilde, Lila, Ricky, Piero, Antonio, and all their attorneys discuss the Aresti Breton (AB) shares held by Las Brujas.  Their attorney explains they’re signed on with Inmobliara Paraiso (IP) and will provision their AB shares for the investment.  Piero assumes AB has the rights to purchase those shares first, right Manriquez?  Manriquez concurs that the AB charter indicates that partners have to offer shares to the other partners in the firm before they’re offered to anyone else.  Lila explains they offered it to IP because they assumed neither Ricky nor Paloma would be willing to pay above market prices.  Substantially higher prices, say 100% more.  Piero states this is excessive.  Tony chimes in saying that what they’re offering the ladies (brujas!) is much more than AB can offer them.  Piero notes they’re just beginning the business, they’re still in diapers!  Obvio, says Tony; however Matilde and Lila have agreed to join their venture.  Matilde has noticed Ricky has not joined the conversation.  Indeed, he’s been sitting back, scowling.  Hmm, he ponders and says he’s not in the mood to argue.  They can do what they want with their shares, he’s got another appointment.  With that, he gets up and leaves the meeting.  Matilde concludes it must be about the news she read in the local paper:  Ines has been arrested for kidnapping.  She and Ines begin to cluck back and forth but the older attorney there stops them and tells them to get back to the subject of their meeting.  The two hens turn to their attorney who advises everyone that his clients have decided to provision their shares as capital in the IP venture.  “Provision?” asks Manriquez, “This would mean that AB would be involved in IP business and vice versa.”  “Marginally,” says Tony, with a triumphant look on his face.

Jailhouse
JL finally gets to visit with Ines.  “Why’d you do it?” he asks.  “Because I couldn’t take it anymore,” she replies. He tries to explain he did what he did so they wouldn’t recognize her and take her to jail.  “As you can see, I prefer jail.”  He tells her he has an attorney ready to pay whatever it takes to get her out.  She tells him money can’t fix everything.  JL knows that, but it does help.  It may take some time to free her but he promises that everything will be different when she gets out, he swears.  Oh yeah, she says, everything will be different because I will NEVER see you again.  He assumes she’s just saying that now because she’s depressed.  “No, you don’t understand anything,” she says.  “I stopped loving you long ago.”  When JL says it has to be because of that imbecile, she tells him this proves that he doesn’t understand how things are.  It could be Ricky or any other man, or no one at all.  “Its simple, I don’t love you anymore.” “Well, I love you, and my daughter,” he says, “and I would do the impossible for you.  You can’t do me this way.”  She tells him he has no idea the fear and anxiety she’s been through.  “Yeah? What about my fears, my anxieties,” he replies. “You’re the one who doesn’t understand anything.  Whatever, I ask your forgiveness.”  Fine, she forgives him but asks him to leave and turns away from him.  A flash of anger crosses his face but he tears himself away and leaves.

Cueva del Zorro
John is on the computer looking up JL’s meds and finds they’re used to treat bipolar disorders. John has to look up Bipolar Disorders (I thought John would have been smarter than this – another pretty face).

Judge’s chambers
Judge is on the phone with the Casa Hogar directo who’s telling him Alina’s has all the symptoms of  depression.  She explains Alina threw out her breakfast this morning and has refused to eat since her arrival, not even a drink of water.  She’s worried Alina will get sick.  Judge wonders why they don’t make her eat.  Director tells him children aren’t like ganzos (geese); they can’t force a child to eat against their will – this is a decent establishment!  She just doesn’t understand why they can’t return her to her adoptive parents.  Judge gets angry and tells her he’s convinced they’ve lied again and haven’t really reconciled.

Los Tortolitos
Fabi tells Leo she’s sad about Ines.  He’s bothered by the situation too.  But right now he’s more bothered that she’s still angry with him.  He swears he never meant to hurt her.  She tells him it’s fine.  She shouldn’t have been angry with him.  It can’t be easy to get involved with a woman with her illness.  He tells her he does love for her, he really does.  If he really did, he wouldn’t be bothered by her illness or her unborn child.  He asks her to understand it’s not easy.  She really does understand.  What she doesn’t understand is why he would want to waste his time with her when nothing can come of it.  He repeats that he loves her.  She tells him he loves her halfway.  When someone truly loves someone, they love them with all their defects and problems.  She feels he still hasn’t accepted that is HIV positive and expecting another man’s child.  He begins to say that maybe with time…..but she interrupts him.  She loves him but he can’t overcome this.  But it’s ok, they can be friends, no?

Jail
Ricky arrives and tells her everything is going well.  Jacinto and Cristiana have already testified.  He’s sure she’ll be out within a few days.  What about Alina?  Ricky explains that according to Manriquez, there’s no reason for Alina to continue in the casa hogar other than the judge’s ill will (mala voluntad).  “Why? Why does he hold such cruel feelings against her?” she cries.  Ricky doesn’t know but asks her to have a little more patience.  “I have patience!  Because I have no other choice, but I can’t take it more!”

Judge’s Chambers
Valencia calls Beltran and has heard he’s taken on Ines’ case.  He explains he’s overseeing Alina’s custody.  As for Ines, he’s sure she is guilty of kidnapping.

Cura aka Padre aka Doctor
Berniece arrives at Mariano’s office.  He explains he’s near completion of his medical studies. She’s looking for a job and he needs someone to help with the dispensary!

Jail
Ricky tells Ines about the “anonymous” call.  He’s sure it was Maricoo-coo.  Why? she cries (again).  He tells her Marilu has gone coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs – she’s like another person.  Ines worries Marilu will take it out on Alina in order to get back at her (Ines).  He tries to tell her not to worry and she replies of course she’s gonna worry and ………. time’s up!  It’s time for Ricky to leave.  They cling to each other until finally Ricky just has to leave Ines crying in her cell.

Cueva del Zorro
Antonio briefs JL on the meeting at AB and the attorney will draw up the papers tomorrow.  JL’s only worried about one thing.  He’s not too sure about assigning Raquel as the president of the company.  Antonio confesses he was never keen on the idea.  I mean, she may be his novia, but she’s bastante tonta.  JL disagrees.  It would be convenient for them If she were dumb.  No, she’s smarter than she appears.  Antonio wonders, if not Raquel, then who?  We do have Las Brujas.  JL tells him to speak to Matilde but only to test her out while he works something out with Raquel and then he’ll decide.  Antonio also tell him that Ricky has hired an army of attorneys to take on Ines’ case.  So he doesn’t think it’s necessary for them to put someone on that case as well.  JL asks about bribes and Antonio explains that Beltran won’t take bribes.  Besides, she has a good case and should be out of jail fairly quickly.  Alina’s situation is another matter.  Antonio thinks it’s a case of the judge’s stubbornness.  Antonio tells him not to worry.  Sooner or later he’s bound to find in his favor.  JL threatens to kill the judge if he doesn’t get his daughter out of that casa hogar.  Antonio tells him not to worry.  Ricky has everything under control.  But this is what really angers JL the most.  Ricky will be the knight in shining armor and Ines will be grateful to him and not JL.  Antonio decides to get while the gettin’ is good and hopes all of JL’s problems are resolved.

[QTH? after commercial break, we see a trailer of Marilu with a gun! Ay, Caray!]

JL heads to the bar and takes out his meds but reconsiders and calls his lady love, Raquel, telling her that maybe they’re both in a better mood than the last time.  She reminds him he’s the one who went all loco on her.  She doesn’t like his attitude one bit.  If he’s only calling because he wants the (CD)…..he interrupts her and says he only wants to invite her to dinner to make peace.  He doesn’t like being at odds with her.  She’s too important to him and he feels badly about everything.  Soooo, it’s a date?  Sure thing.

In another room, John is on the phone with Samuel who’s telling him about Joaquin’s coma.  Uh-oh, Sammy’s on the drums now.  That’s it.  It’s all over for Joaquin, I guess.  Samuel explains it’s been days since Joaquin’s been out.  He doesn’t know if he’ll die and the problem now is that his wife and daughter refuse to pull the plug.  Whatever, Sammy’s taking on the business and the organization (and the drums).  He asks if John’s done what he asked.  John explains JL still doesn’t trust him and he hasn’t been able to get away from the house.  If they were to kill everyone, then all hell would break loose and they’d be in the eye of the hurricane.  JL calls him from the other room.  Sammy suggests John get rid of JL once the business is running, saying “muerto el perro, se acabo la rabia” (the rage is gone once the dog is dead)  Whatever you want, answers John.  For now, Sammy just wants to wait on his sister-in-law and niece and their decision on whether to unplug Joaquin from life support.

John returns to JL who tells him he’s on his way to dinner with Raquel.  He orders John to search Raquel’s apartment thoroughly for the CD and replace it with a copy that he gives him.  He tells him to be careful and leave everything as he found it.  John lies and says he wasn’t able to verify Joaquin’s whereabouts.  Everyone says he’s on vacation.  JL tries calling Joaquin again and leaves a voicemail, reminding him that he’s leaving as soon as the business is up and running.

Bungalo Azul
Piero frets about the AB shares and how they’ll be equally responsible if the money laundering takes place because Las Brujas are their partners.  Ricky assumes each partner has his/her own responsibility that shouldn’t harm the others.  Piero insists there will be investigations and gossip that will harm AB.  Ricky figures they have time, the company hasn’t gotten on its feet yet.  The important thing now is Alina and Ines.  Piero continues to fret, saying Ricky is taking it very calmly while AB’s prestige is on the line.  Ricky is adamant that he’s not taking it calmly but there are priorities.

Presidenta Matilda
Antonio makes his pitch.  It’s only a proposal to the other partners at this point.  What’s not to like, wonders Matilde.  She studied accounting!   She can’t wait to see her ex-husband’s face, and her tia’s, when they find out!  She asks about her salary and he tells her it will be substantial.  Matilde is absolutely beaming.  Finally!  Justice has come her way (yup, can’t wait).  To think, from being Tia’s maid to President of a real estate agency!

Casa Bonita
Manolo visits Lucina  and tells her about Oriana’s arrest and Alina’s placement in an orphanage.  It’s now up the Ministerio Publico.  He thinks there’s enough evidence to let her go.  Alina’s situation, however, is another matter because of that judge.  Lucina is very angry and he warns her not to do anything.

El Zorro and, well, La Zorra
He toasts to their reconciliation but she doesn’t want to believe him because he’s more interest in that CD than her.  He tells her to forget about that CD.  He swears (cough) he’s only here for her.  She’s the only one that is important to her – no one else (gag).  After all, their love and their child unites them.  He toasts to their son – I hope that’s apple cider he’s sipping but I don’t think so.

Casa de Ricky
Ricky tells Marilu he certainly hopes the problem is resolved, and quickly.  It would make her so happy if it were, she says.
“Really?” he asks.  “You’d be happy?  After everything you told the judge?”
“I don’t know what happened.  I got jealous.”
“You have no reason to be jealous, we’re already married, right?”
“We’re married in name only but you sleep in the bungalow and I sleep in my room.  You promised you would sleep with me.”
Ricky eyes her angrily, “What, do you think I’m a machine that you only have to push a button and that’s it? After everything you did, you think I would want to do it?”
“ But you PROMISED! and you told the judge our marriage was normal!”
“Fine! Let’s go to the bedroom! C’mon!”  He grabs her by the elbow and pulls her up the stairs as Marilu protests.  They reach the bedroom and Ricky starts pulling off his jacket, “Go ahead and undress.  You want love? Passion?  I have none of that for you.”  She tells him she doesn’t want it like this and starts to leave and he tells her to convince him then.  She complains he’s still in love with Ines and he tells her it has nothing to do with that.  He proceeds to take off his shirt  “I can be in love with a woman but that doesn’t have to stop me from having relations with others, just like hundreds of other men. And you? You’re just a mujer mesquina (mean/covetous).” Oh boy, she threatens to call the judge.  He tells he she can call anyone she likes but he warns her that if she doesn’t keep up the pretense of a happily married couple until Alina arrives, he will throw her out.  No car, no money, no credit cards, NADA!  Marilu looks plenty worried.  Ricky picks up his clothes and leaves.

He meets Tia at the foot of the stairs, shocked to see him shirtless.  He continues on out of the house.  Marilu joins Tia and has the nerve to say Ricky tried to rape her!  Fidelia is open-mouthed astonished at the accusation.  HA!  If that were true, Marilu would surely be thanking God on bended knee!  Marilu calls her a dried up old lady who doesn’t know anything about such things.  Fidelia says this may be so but she’s not stupid.  Fidelia looks to the heavens wondering QTH is going on with this girl, this house, everyone!  Everyone has gone plumb loco!

Zorra and Zorra continue their romantic dinner
“So, then we’ll go live somewhere else?” asks Raquel, all starry eyed.  she asks about her position as President but he doesn’t want to talk about business just now.  He just wants her to know he has a lot of plans for her future. (I’ll bet he does) After today, they are one and the same.  If she’s happy, he’s happy. (gag, cough) He’s waiting anxiously for the day their baby is born.  Really? Yes, really.  You are my only family, all that I have.  Does she realize how important she is to him?  She breathlessly repeats he’s equally important to her.  He doesn’t know how much.  He asks why.  She tells him she’s always dreamed of a man like him: handsome, intelligent, and powerful.  She apologizes if at some point she thought he was only using her.  (oh, girl is gonna fall hard) He tells her those are just silly thoughts that got into her head.  He ask what he can do so she won’t think such stupid things again.  She tells him he can stop asking for that CD.  She’ll give it to him when the time is right.  Fine, he says.  Whatever she wants.  If that’s the proof she wants of his love, so be it.  He tenderly kisses her hand.  He asks if she’s convinced now that he loves her.  She of course whispers yes, she is.  “That’s the way I like it,” he says.  Pure evil, that one.

Raquel’s depa
John is looking everywhere and finds it in her makeup bag/small case.  As he leaves, he encounters Sebastian and tells him to be quiet, the Señora is sleeping.  After he leaves, Sebastian rings the doorbell anyway, then knocks and calls out to Raquel.  Getting no answer, he walks away.

Cueva del Zorro
JL returns home, rushing in to find out what happened.  John hands over the CD, saying he almost didn’t find it.  JL rushes upstairs and inserts the CD on his PC…………

Leapin’ Lizards! Little Orphan Alina gets a Visitor
Mariano has arranged a visit for Paloma.  Alina is very sad and asks if they’ve come to take her home.  Mariano notices immediately how pale she is and the director tells him Alina has refused to eat.  Paloma takes a good look at her and notes how thin and pale she is.  Alina asks for her mommy and Tito.  Paloma explains mommy wasn’t able to come.  Tito is fine and has sent her a big stuffed dog to keep her company.  Mariano is very concerned about her health and asks if she’s been seen by a doctor.  Well, um, er, all recently arrived children have suffered some trauma.  It’s very common for them not to want their meals and have nightmares.  Mariano complains she’s severely anemic.  The director can’t see what they expect her to do.  She’s already explained how Alina refuses to eat no matter how much they coax her.  Paloma is appalled.  It’s not acceptable they would simply allow her to starve just because she doesn’t want to eat.  They could have at least called her.  er, um, lots of kid, um can’t worry about just one.  Mariano asks again if she’s seen a doctor.  um, doctor only comes for emergencies, it’s normal, possibly just going through a depression.  She’ll get over it, you’ll see.  Paloma is outraged.  She can’t believe her insensitivity.  The director is insulted.  Paloma’s heard enough.  She’s taking Alina to a hospital right now.  Director protests, but Paloma’s not listening.  You go, Granma!  She doesn’t care that the director is threatening her with arrest, she’s taking her granddaughter now!  they’re breaking out of this joint!

There goes da Judge, There goes da Judge!
Valencia is on the phone saying he can’t be removed from the case.  The voice on the other end says they’ve investigated and there is no reason the child should continue in the orphanage.  Judge disagrees, repeating that the adoptive parents faked a reconciliation.  He doesn’t have any proof but……the voice orders him to issue the orders to have the child returned to her adoptive parents immediately!  “Maldito Homero!” he says.  He gets a call from the orphanage telling him Paloma has taken the child.  He just hangs up on her.

Jail
JL and Ricky face off.  Antonio steps in front of JL, saying it isn’t worth it.  Manriquez comes out and tells Ricky that thanks to the testimony of the employees of the beach house Beltran has agreed there is no reason for Ines to remain jailed.  She should be out momentarily.  JL turns and says he wants to see his wife.  Ricky shouts, “this man is not her husband! I got here first and want to give her the news.”  They start to shout back and forth at each other.  The Prison Desk guy shouts for them to shut it or he’ll jail them all!

Avances
Ricky/Ori reunite
Manolo to Raq: He’ll kill you once he finds out everything  you know!
JL to Raq: I don’t need you anymore!

I'm just checking in and I hope to read the recap soon. The title is wonderful!

My head almost exploded last night. Really wondering about the direction things are going with the Joaquin story.

Paquita -- Great, funny recap. It is indeed a hard-knock life for our little orphan Alina. She did look pretty pale and sick by the time that Paloma and Mariano barged into the Case de Hogar.

I see a pattern with Ricardo. He explains to Piero that everything will be all right with the co-mingling of stock in the new money-laundering business. I think that's what he's said at every point along the way as Ines has inevitably headed to the pokey and Aline has been headed inevitably to the Casa. He tries, he insists, he blusters, but he just hasn't been able to stop the events that are staring at him! Looks like Breton-Aresti could be in trouble before it's all said and done. Or not -- we seem to be in anything-can-happen territory!

Along those lines, the other night the crazy judge told Homero that he might be able to do something for Ines but not for Alina. Last night it was the reverse. Ay carumba.

Thanks Paquita this very detailed recap!

What a small-minded man Edmundo judge, he has problem with Homero and Mr. Judge try to take it out on Ori and her Poor Little Lamb.

What a surprise! New characters (snoring fat lady and her red haired daughter) before the end with 16-17 episodes. What will be their function. I think we don't have enough episodes for too important things with them.

Berenice is the nurse who is everywhere. I can't still believe that Mariano now is a doctor, it's like CCEA William Levy: psychiatrist, brain surgeon, ophthalmologist.

Love Marilu and Ricardo scene. Ricardo was a good boy, and Little Richard stayed in his pants. It was the best way. So I am not disappointed.

I liked Eliseo, I like very much Mike, but John????????? I dislike.

I can't wait for failing of Matilde. I feel, she will go wrong with her shares business.

Paquita- I loved your humor in this recap. Thanks for keeping things light.

Finally, Homero does something right and gets Alina freed. And Ori is also free. I'm guessing now that the jail-orphanage fear has been fulfilled and met, the last few weeks will be spent on bringing JL, Sam, and the whole criminal organization down, with collateral damage being the three stupid women- Lila, Mati, and Raqui.

Alejo- I also enjoyed Rick's let's do it, right here, right now, tantrum with Marilu. Ha! She was not expecting that. Loved Fidelia laughing at her rape claim and basically saying, in your dreams!

AlejoP- I know the function of the daughter, but I think it's a spoiler.

Vivi-I laughed at Ric's "let's do it right now" outburst, too.

Gracias, Paquita!

Sara - I guess I know from bumpers, but I think it's too late to this line. And they are Dominican characters, so the writers want to take on this money laundering/ crime plot. Joaquin is in comatose, Sammy wants the leadership, and a now there is still a heir and a wife. This acting plot will be over, if only the MPV ends.

Good stuff.

With only 16 episodes to go I am salivating over what will happen to MADhilde. I should put up a Karmageddon chart for this weekend.

By allowing Mati and Lila to use AB stock to become part of Caribbean Embezzlement Company, that keeps Rick and Paloma and amigos tied to JL. Now that Ori's story with JL has come to an end, and he no longer has any emotional or legal hold over her, they had to find a way to keep these people linked together. I think Marilu, more than JL, will now be the obstacle that keeps Rick and Ori apart until the end.

I wonder how much Mrs. Joaquin and Jacky know about hubby/daddy’s business? Jacky kind of looked like she suspected uncle Sammy’s eagerness to unplug her dad. But why would that bring her to Mexico, I wonder? Seems like an odd path for the plot, but ok.

I think Pretty "dumb" Ricky was just grand standing about the instant sex with Marilulu...he couldn't get it up if he wanted too....too much stress, and the fact that he don't love her, and hate her guts, would have made things too soft for him to do Marilulu.

Add JL to the list of dumba$$e$...Orines keep telling him No, but he will not take no as a final answer....so it looks like he will go Joe Louis again on the other dumba$$ tonight...

New title: Lie So the Dummies can Live.

Lee- Oh, we all know Rick was bluffing. He would have had to close his eyes, tell Marilu to keep her mouth shut, and try really hard to picture Ori to make little Ricky respond.

Thanks for this nifty recap Paquita. Well done.

I was so hoping that Marilu would call Ricky's bluff. Another missed opportunity by the writers.

So how long has Alina been in the Casa Hogar? Maybe a couple of days? If Alina is indeed anemic then it's certainly not a result of her treatment and languishing there. Someone should have noticed her pallor but they certainly are not responsible. Inez? Ricky and Marilu?

Who thinks that before this is all over that Manolo's cousin will finally manage to light that cigarette?

Alina isn't anaemic; Paloma was using that to get Alina out of there. Smart lady.

Thanks Paquita, I'm ticked off that I can't watch this online anymore, stoopid Univision, so I'm very grateful for the recaps.

I'm with you Alejo, that judge is trying to get at Homero and using innocent victims to do that.
I wished that Ric would have gone a bit further to make Marilu realize how ridiculous she is in thinking that Ric would just forget about everything else and be with her after everything she's done. Insisting that he act as a married man with her without any of the feelings for her is insane. I also wish that the writers had given us a few clues about this new and evolved Marilu so that this behavior wouldn't be a complete turn around from how she behaved before.

I'm also irritated by Ric ignoring the issue of Matilde and Lila's shares buying into this new company. If their shares fail with this new venture, won't that hurt AB's finances too? Wouldn't their shares go to Caribbean Investment Properties who own the loans for the real estate purchases? Not that I think he should pay above market value for the shares, but still, just blowing off the company because his flame is in jail and her daughter is in an orphanage is not very good for the company.

Some women continue to believe that a young healthy man can only perform sexually with a woman he loves in an atmosphere of wine, roses and candles. If Marilu had called Ric's bluff by stripping naked and fondling little Ricky, trust me, little Ricky would respond and not miss this opportunity. Recall how Caesar detested the site of Raquel to the point of leaving the room when she appeared. Yet, his little Caesar had no problem responding twice to Raquel's free hot offer. "Can't perform under stress"?....There's no such animal.

Anon- I think Cesar was more ashamed of his feelings, than disgusted with Raquel. He likes Raquel, a LOT, more than he wants to. Ricky DETESTS Marilu. We've never seen him attracted to her to begin with, but her latest stunts have made him absolutely hate her. I would be very worried about a galan who can use hatred and anger as a means for getting aroused. Yes, I do think men can get aroused by a woman they have no romantic feelings for. But I do think performance and arousal can be affected when that man can't even stand to look at or be in the same room as that woman (and not because he's afraid of getting a hard on like Cesar with Raqui).

Please note that Vivi said "hard on". All complaints about vulgarity should be directed to her. :-) Not Cynderella

Yikes! I came back to protest the lack of rats to keep Oriana company while she was suffering in jail and here you guys are talking about Little Rickies and Little Césars. Susanlynn,

""Can't perform under stress"?....There's no such animal."

have you forgotten about Little Rod in DA?

Now... what kind of jail is that with no rats?

Carlos

Cynderella, somehow it's kinda cute when Vivi talks dirty.

Carlos

:-)

Vivi, sorry to disillusion you but I asked Ricky if he thought he could possibly have sex with Marilu since he can't stand to look her in the face. His answer was one I've heard before, "yes, if I put a bag over her head". "On second thought, make that a double bag".

LOL! Anon- Yes. As Cyn's title said the other day, he can always think of England, or Oriana.

We can talk about Ric being able to perform or not with Marilu, but Marilu wants a proper relationship with him, not just sex. And that's what she's not understanding. He is not emotionally into her and never will be now that she's acting like such an evil bitch. There's nothing she can do now that will ever change his mind, even if Oriana weren't in the picture any longer.

Cynderella, I still blame you for Vivi's dirty talking. You're explicit recapping of the kissing and sex scenes turns everybody's minds that way ;)

Thanks Paquita, I really enjoyed the recap.
I know the following 2 lines weren't meant to be funny, they came across as laughable:
"Piero insists there will be investigations and gossip that will harm AB. Ricky figures the important thing now is Alina and Ines".
My advice to Rick is "Sometimes you have to multi-task".

All I said was that one of the characters was having "phone sex" in a prior recap. It caused an all day discussion. Vivi says "hard on" and everyone thinks it's cute. :-) I can't win.

CathyX, Ricky and Oriana really don't have sex. They just kiss and kiss and kiss.

OK, true story. I watched Accoralada. The sex scene was so boring that I didn't realize that the protagonsists had had sex until she ended up pregnant. I had to rewatch the episode to see when they could have mated. Then it was like....oh that was when he had sex with her. David Zepeda was the lead. I still think he's sexy and I would do him and his ascots any day and any time.

Bwahahaha!! (evil, but cute, laugh)

;-)

That's better than the sex they have in Que Pobres. Alejo and Minerva are in bed, kiss, and then he sits up and cheers his performance and she rolls her eyes and looks at her watch to see how quick he was.

Thank you SO much, Paquita!! What a funny recap. :))

It really bugs me that we have no idea what happened to Joaquin to put him in this "coma" (if we can believe it really is a coma). It's implied that Samuel "might" (probably) have had something to do with this, but can we really infer that from what little evidence we have seen?

I LOVED Ric's temper tantrum and even better that Tia Fidelia called Stepford Woman on her accusation of "rape". That Plastic Chic has got to go. Period.

Raquel is going to pay big time for falling for JL's lies. She is blinded by trinkets, but I think a horrible fate awaits her (my own speculation).

Carlos: "Who thinks that before this is all over that Manolo's cousin will finally manage to light that cigarette?" This is why I love reading your comments!!

Vivi in DC talking dirty. NEVER!

Fatima

Fatima, you read it here first.

Cynderella, all we see is the kissing, the rest is left up to our imaginations, and I'll bet your's is very explicit and graphic.
