April, I really don't see why she needs Rafa anymore either but she was considering telling him who really was Vals son just because he asked. He knows she doesn't need Adriano's money (or the fake money of Vicki) she is partners and taking mafia money. Guess he just thinks Raquel is going to let he and Adriano get on a plane to NY and just exchange Christmas cards yearly.

No need for Mariana to hang around (oh but I love Ed) and don't get why Raquel let Fernanda go with a suitcase of money. She has killed for less than what she knows.

I was disappointed in the way Rafa broke the news to Tita that he is going off to New York with Rich Daddy. Smirking and popping food into his mouth. Shame, Rafa, shame!

Can't believe Blanca is now ready to die to avenge Memo. Isn't that a bit ironic, to leave little Hugo bereft of a guardian (I'm not counting Simona) to avenge her own parent?

And speaking of Hugo, with the phone chip gone, what happened to the cute detective kids club of him, Sofia and the altar boy?

And, why would Raq leave Fernanda alive? She could have taken Rafa's money and killed Fernanda anyway. With the chip gone, who can prove anything against her?

Yes, Rafa is overplaying his hand, way over playing since he only got a pair of 2's. Tita was none to pleased and thought as well what an arrogant ass and how in the world he thought Raquel should tell him who the son is and though it worked asked for Fernanda's release. In the real world the DNA results would come with a bullet attached.

I'm bored with the whole Blanca noise and with you again when she gave her feebly masked doom & gloom goodby to Hugo. What I didn't expect is that Rafa would be the central character in this TN. They should change the opening credits.
 

Pretty sure Fernanda is going to be used as bait for Adriano and Victoria. At least, it is the only thing I can think of since Raquel has no conscience.

Okay, so Raqhell now knows that Victoria is actually Blanca? That was kind of a letdown. "Victoria", she mutters to herself in that nasal whine. No fireworks.

But well, instead we got:
1. Ramon kisses Catalina (sorry, he didn't look like he had much experience)
2. Ed sees on skype that Mariana forced Victoria to give him up against her will
3. Jorge decides to move back home
4. Blanca records her "in case I die" statement and gives it to Karina for safekeeping.
5. Karina shows the video clip to Rafa. Oopsie. He snatches it and won't give it back.
6. The Angel of Death (Raqhell) shows up at the hospital to hover, no doubt, over Victoria's bed.
7. What? Victoria's wardrobe for tonight was a black burlap bag. I am not kidding!

I'm not so sure Raquel has put the two and two together as Blancoria. It is more possible that when she saw the person she thinks is Victoria get shot, she was still waiting for the real Blanca to show up. She's not sure what Blanca looks like yet.

She thought she was being oh so clever to get both Fernanda and Blanca with one tiro. But where is the money? I don't think Fer had anything with her.

Only Rafa knows.....and what a nogoodnik son he is. Tita will probably be his downfall.

Burlap rag and a plastic excuse for a purse. Her oversized black bag might have protected her better.

I love the way daylight crimes are carried out on the streets in full view--in this one the guys actually get out of the car before Massage Man tells them to abort...and no one is around except Fer.

Could Fer be the first in TN history to call an ambulance within minutes of a crisis? For a minute there, I thought they were going to play with us and switch the sequence. When a person is DEAD, you call an ambulance right away. When a person is still ALIVE, you wring your hands and touch the person on the ground and cry for help and a crowd gathers, then they all moan and wring their hands.

I actually had to laugh at Blanca's despedida from her family. Notice she didn't kiss or hug Si-mona? Her testimony on the phone is still hearsay. She accuses Raquel of murdering Memo, but she doesn't have any more proof than Addie or the Governor. Maybe she believes that if she dies, the finger will point to Raquel. She ought to know Raqevil by now--she can get away with anything. She has money and influence.

All I can say, is poor Catalina. She's trading one rich imbecile for a poor one. At least the poor one cares about her.

 

JnO, to me it didn't seem Raquel put it together Vicki is Blanca. She was wondering why Vicki would be there but not Blanca.

And what a contrast in attire between that poured on white thing Mariana was in to Vicki's burlap bag.

From Raquel's reaction I don't think she has figured out Victoria is Blanca,especially since she stated she did not want her powerful Daddy involved..

Anita I did not notice that Skype was turned the wrong way either but wondered why there would be any picture at all since mine will go to sleep left alone like that. Guess Marianne could have changed the settings but then why would she need to.

Where did Fernanda get her phone? Before capture she was begging Rafa to use his. If Raquel gave it to her it would be kind of dumb on her part to call Blanca on it. Did I miss something where the phone is concerned.?

April--You noticed Fer's phone!! Since phones are a dime a dozen on this show and they are constantly being lost, exchanged, left around, given to kids, this one went right by me.

I did recall that when Fer called Blanca for a date, it was being monitored by Massage Guy & Equipo, so maybe Raq did give her a phone.

She didn't have one when she was being chased and captured earlier, or she wouldn't have stopped to use a pay phone (but she had a credit or phone card on her???). I can't give her credit for using her brain if she did have a cell phone on her not to use it intentionally in that scene because it might be monitored. I don't think she had her purse on her either.

I didn't see if Fer had a purse at all when she was freed and glad to be alive. So where *did* she get the phone.

Also, why did Fer need Blanca to get her the plane ticket to Bogota when she's the one with all the money--in cash. Wouldn't Blanca need to have her passport number, expiration date, address, etc., even to get a ticket over the phone or on-line? Going with the flow in this TN is making my head spin.
 

the last promo I saw said that La Impostora was in "Etapa Crucial",
this is a new one for me, (is it a wardrobe thing?)

 

Haha, Deb, If ONLY it was a wardrobe thing. Vick has been in need of an Etapa Crucial for her wardrobe since the very beginning.

I haven't heard that phrase used either in avances or promos. It's the recappers that usually state, Must See TV or, Tune in Este Lunes (or tomorrow).

Etapa is stage or period rather than next episode, so maybe we're moving into a new phase. More seasoned viewers and commenters have always noticed that when a tn moves into a new etapa, characters change hairstyles dramatically or...yes, wardrobe styles, noted as a new "luke."


 

Aack! Emergency dog potty-walk caused me to miss whatever happened to Fernanda at the airport.
By the way, is she the secret daughter of Soccoro? Because she tried to call her "Mama" when the Massage Guy was after her a couple of nights ago. Then, last night, Soccoro said that "Fernanda had called her all upset" right before she disappeared.

At first I thought Fernanda was dead when I saw the hypodermic needle and the instant loss of consciousness, but since Raquel said to take her back to the warehouse I guess there is more Raquel wants from her. I kind of like Fer so hope she has survived and or will survive Guess we find out tonight. Where did Fernanda's money go? I have not seen it since her call to Blanca from the warehouse. Her purse is probably still under Rafa's couch where Raquell left it.

Looks like Raquell is toying with Rafa like a cat does with a mouse that has no hope.

Did you notice that Lisette had her left eye partially open for a while to add to the comatose patient portrayal.

I kept thinking Ed was going to yank out the breathing tube so we could have our nightly gratuitous lip lock but at least now he knows it's ok to leave Adriano in the room alone with her.

Tofie--I did notice the partially open eye. I guess it wasn't a 100% perfect performance.

I really hated seeing Fernanda beg. Instead of crying she should have gone to the feds and gotten into the witness protection program.

What a lame scene that was with Mariana barging in to pajama partynap Sofie. At her first appearance, Melania should have called security. But then we wouldn't have had Sofie delivered to the hospital.

Mariana's hot shot lawyer is some woman we haven't seen in a long time.

I don't understand what there is to negotiate between Richie's boss and Raquel. The two of them don't need Richie at all. She has the means of transportation, he has the merchandise. They need each other to get ahead (not that I want them to).
 

Anita, I thought the same about Raquel talking with Richie. He is just an errand boy. Raquel may try to leverage Mariana with Montenegro since Rafa told her they were an item before.

Cat is in a corner post kiss and Ramon's declaration of love. She tried to get Clemente to supply an out, then the admission to Chris about the kiss fell flat. Both offered nothing but see you at the wedding Saturday. If Cat wants Ramon she will have to make a huge sacrifice. She will anger Raquel, Chris (who cares) the whole town, her father and a Senator. All for a guy she is not sure she is in love with or a rebound plus the dude is from the wrong side of the tracks. Forget about a life of the rich and famous. Now if she doesn't marry Chris because he is a dweeb I'm ok with that.

Clemente: he's not winning any Father of the Year awards here. What happened to his understanding attitude?

Sofia: heartbreaking scene, that's one plucky little actress. Plus she gets a cool wardrobe.

Simona: the oldest trick in the book, and all Jorge can think of is pawing through the trash looking for the pregnancy test?

Rafa has gone from a bit player to a major character, hmmm. He's a bit delusional about actually being an Altamira. But seems like he is also trying to protect Blanca.

What kind of a father is Clemente?

Well, one that is still living in the 18th Century when marriages between families were still being arranged for the benefit of the parents' power or wealth and not the children's happiness.

On the other hand, he's aware that Cat & Cris have been together for a number of years, so perhaps he has a point that this is merely a temporary lapse in their relationship. Cris' pecado, in our eyes is certainly greater than Cat's, but men are always allowed greater leeway for their straying. His was done in the flesh, hers was done in the heart (and a couple of lip locks), ni modo, she should get over it.

Clemente is also frustrated because he was finally willing to support Cat if she didn't want to marry Cris and withstand the disapprobation of his society peers, but then the wedding was on again and then on hold--ON the Day of the Wedding! (Although I think Ramon is rather sweet, I agree with Clemente that Ramon is not the guy for Cat, but neither is Cris, no matter how good-looking and rich he is.)

He also probably fears Hippy Snake Skin Raqevil (and I don't mean one of the true Flower Children of the 60s) more than the society pages. (Thanks, April for the visual image of a snake. I thought she looked like a target from the rear, or a monochrome kaleidoscope.)

Yay for hospital stays--another day for us not to have to hear Blancoria or see her moving her cherry red lips.

Eddie should have suspected something like this was coming when he forbade Mariana from approaching Sofie without his consent. (I forgot that Mariana had contracted Fer to be her hot shot lawyer. At least I got the woman part right.)

I wonder how long it will take for Mariana to tire of playing mother and for Sofie to run away again. She's pretty good at it. She's had experience and should be able to carry it off. She has Hugo and Pedrito in her corner, too (I'm kidding about the last sentence--they should be very pi$$ed off at her for losing the "cheep.")

Ditto for Si-Mona. As smart as men are supposed to be, when it comes to a woman announcing an unwanted pregnancy, they are the dumbest creatures around.

Why wasn't Rafa put on the no-visitor list. I think he's only trying to protect Blanca in his own mind. He needs to keep her dual identity from the Altamiras for his own selfish reasons, not to protect her.

I like Cat but agree Ramon not the right guy either and especially now. When she has the visual musings it is the heartbreak of discovering the guy she loves in the sack with another woman contrasted with an awkward kiss by a new found nice guy that she otherwise wouldn't look at but is attentive.

This got rebound written all over it and just a distraction to take some of the pain away.

Ramon too thinks he is in love but it was just a few weeks ago he was willing to forgive Karina and marry her. I get Cat could make him forget about the skank but a future with her is fantasy territory.

If Cat would listen to me I'd tell her to dump Chris and go visit Diego in NY, maybe stay there for 6 months or a year and clear her head. In that time she may meet some guy in NY or come back and start dating again. Ramon, after a separation of a few weeks, would be long forgotten.
 

I really miss Diego. Cat needs him right now. It sounds like he may not make it to the wedding that might or might not happen!

Tofie--I'm with you with the match ups. Sadly, we have several Spare Girls in this one. Tita, Socorro, Melania, Si-Mona and Fer (if she manages to live). Spare Men are very few, Leonidas, Clemente and Domingo. (Dom may be gay, based on his earlier profession as make-over artist. I had to laugh that his make over of Blanca was limited to applying very bright shiny lipstick and eye shadow. He didn't even part Blanca's hair on the other side, or braid it or put it in a French roll or a pony tail, geesh.)
 

Thank you Anita and Tofie for reminding me of Diego. Out of sight out of mind, I guess. Wonder why he did not fly in for the wedding?

Loved it when Sofie pointed to Rafa and said that he was the one who kidnapped her. Then Hugo telling Raquell she was a very bad woman very seriously. Best part of the action tonight.

Once again Sofie steals Mariana's phone, she and Hugo use it to find the church building,then they both run up to the church steps with no phone. Unless Hugo put it in his pocket, not sure he had one, where did it go? I thought when Sopfie took it they were going to find the Tuerto recording on it. I guess the writers were not thinking the same thing that I was.

JNO it does seem Rafa is becoming a major character, yes, I too wish I could reach out and smack him. Is he wearing a hairpiece? Do you think it would come off if we smacked him?

I got confused with Clemente. Must have misunderstood. I was under the impression he did not want Cat to marry Chris after all but then she did. Cat WAS beautiful at her wedding.

Simona...how many people are you going to milk for money with this baby story?

Raquel dismissed Clemente because she *only* had 3 hours to get ready for the wedding. It seems to me she only threw on her little black dress, clapped on a shiny bracelet and applied a new layer of lipstick.

Why would any woman wear black to a wedding? Maybe it's not considered bad luck in Mexico. I hope it's bad luck for Raquel.

Loved Sofie talking back to Mariana and refusing to call her mama.

I wondered, before tonight's episode, how long it would take Mariana to tire of playing Mommie Dearest. She barely lasted 1/4 of an episode. You GO, Sofie Girl and really do a number on Marimommy. Maybe she'll hit you and you record it on her little red phone and show it to Daddy later.

Tofie--That looked like a pretty official wedding. Even though some knowing looks went back to interested parties during the ceremony. We'll know on Monday for sure, if Cat & Cris go on a honeymoon and act like newlyweds (you know, rose petals, candles, champagne and gauzy-draped poster beds with a balcony view).

Ramon & Karina did stand out in the crowd of penguins, didn't they?

When I said I was worried about Jorge, I meant is he a Priest stuck in a Family Man's body or is he a Family Man stuck in a Priest's body. I'm glad he stuck his ground about little Hugo. And if Hugo didn't think she was a mala persona before, the way she talked about him in front of him, he'd know she was a mala persona after that.

Tofie--You've solved Karina's problem, partially. Which one will she stick the baby-daddy thing to?
 

Yeah, Jorge is struggling with who he is, a man of the cloth or the flesh. One thing I applaud is he has lost respect & patience with his mother. Had he not hooked up with Karina (and doesn't again) he may be more capable of great things than the other two sons.
 

Okay, wedding comments:
1. The wedding of a governor's daughter should have been a big media event, but the bride's side of the church looked awfully empty.
2. In TN land, the good characters mostly don't get divorced. So that means a) Chris turns out to be Catalina's true love (not); b) the priest was a fake; or c) bridegroom's gonna die.
3. Cata keeps turning around and staring at Ramon...
4. Clemente had earlier that day insisted on cancelling the wedding because Cata looked so miserable. I had hopes; couldn't believe it when the vows were completed without interruption.

Jno I did notice the church was rather bare for the wedding of someone in a wealthy family. Forgot about Clemente being the governor. That church should have been standing room only. Thanks for bringing that out. Chris kept looking at Mariana and Cat at Ramon. Too miserable bride and grooms.

I too thought the wedding was going to be cancelled. That was a bit confusing. I just knew there was not going to be a wedding. I thought maybe when the priest said do you take this man she was going to say no. Does this mean there are going to be affairs in this marriage?


 

Well, we are pretty sure Chris won't change spots and become a saint now that they are married. Although, recall that in the Herederos del Monte, the bad-boy brother played by Fabian Rios, who had been smacking his girlfriend around, changed into a decent family man in the final episode after they got married. Anyway, maybe Chris will see the error of his ways. Not sure if I can really see a future for Cata and Ramon...

Just wonder if Clemente has grown a spine and truly investigating the real Leticia in prison angle and he knows Raquel killed Memo. If he wants to break from her, Cat and Chris marrying would appear to Raquel all is well, as he gathers evidence to put her away. Cat helps her father and he later is ok with an annulment to go join the circus if she chooses.
As Anita pointed out, we will know on the wedding night.

We still have the reception and Cat insisted Ramon attend. If all is well with the newlyweds, at best, insensitive of Cat.

Foolish of Ramon to fall in love and expect her to run off but he doesn't deserve to be kicked in the teeth. He has Chris threatening him, her father looks down his nose and Cat has him in the friendzone like a puppy. Cat, do the right thing and let the guy unlucky in love crawl off and lick his wounds. So far rich guys 2, Ramon 0.
 

Perhaps Ramon will become a great photographer and fool everyone. He is a kind soul and as Cat said talented. Too late for him and Cat though. Tofie good point...friend zone...doom! I try to be understanding on how Cat could be so insensitive and will put it down to not being around nice people very much, though I do think she falls in the nice people category.

Don't think Clemente is going to get a spine. I seem to recall some time back that Raquell had something on him to black mail him with. Was it she helped him get elected? There are so many twists I can't keep up with them.

April: Raqhell reminded Clemente not so subtly a few weeks ago that without her help, he would not have gotten elected. Sounds like she pulled some illegal moves to get him into the governors palace, and was threatening to reveal this if he didn't do as she asked.

But, what about Karina, storming up to Jorge after she learns the news of Simona's supposed pregnancy, and hissing at him "How could you do this to me?". Isn't SHE the one who dumped HIM? Then she has the nerve, once again, to pressure Ramon into getting back together?

Improbable as a Ramon and Cat pairing is socially (and her beauty) they are nice people. I get why they became friends and not opposed to them linked romantically I just think the writers wanted some whipping boy and Ramon is it (it's expected the poor male orphan with talent and nice can't be hot, accepted and have a hot girl, the hot girls are reserved for the rich hot guys). Cat doesn't want to rub it in and really wants Ramon around her as an emotional crutch and shoulder to cry on but that's gonna burn when they speed away for the honeymoon. I don't think that has crossed Cats mind.

Probably be a Jorge and Cat hook up in the end because he is pretty and Ramon still in the friendzone.

I've been away and have missed so many episodes that I haven't commented lately. However, in the early episodes of the telenovela, there was some speculation about Ramon's being the son of Adriano and Valentina (and hence an Altamira). Has that possibility been ruled out? If Ramon is the son, he'd be on a much more equal footing financially with Cat, though not socially. And so if something were to happen to Cristobal....
 

When I say there was speculation about Ramon's being Adriano and Valentina's son, I mean here in CarayCaray, not in the telenovela. (I think my wording wasn't clear.)
 

Juanita, yes we were speculating, especially since every other phrase out of Ramon's mouth was "I grew up an orphan". But the show has not really thrown out any more hints along that line.
I think we have all settled on Eduardo as the most likely hijo.
Of course, the show still has a long way to go, everything will no doubt change....

Ramon is still a possibility but I don't think he is hot enough to be rewarded with a father and millions. Raquel did just show up at his abode ostensibly to get his help in convincing Jorge to drop the priesthood, come back home and she would bail out the orphanage. She could have been there to get a DNA sample so Rafa could do the old switcharo at the clinic.

If he is Adriano's son it would change everything for him monetarily (socially in Acapulco he would still be the son of a poor kid from the hood) but why would he want Cat then. So far she is ok with being friends and swapping a little spittle but she has rejected the possibility of romance for social standing (not money because the Altamira's have none right now). It's ok for the spoiled rich boys to dally with the native girls but don't let that uncouth boy near my princess.

Adriano's son is likely already living the life of a prince and find out he is of half common stock and Val the good witch.

Ed is probably the lost son since he is not a bad guy, Blanca loves him and he her and Adriano already thinks of her as family (or the daughter he never had).

This week I started thinking again it may be Jorge but all bets off if he falls back into Karina's clutches.
 

Thanks very much, JinO, deb, and tofie, for your responses. I guess I can see Eduardo as a strong possibility. Certainly that would explain Raquel's unwillingness to reveal the truth to Adriano (or anyone else). But, as JinO says, the show still has a long way to go and anything could change.
