La Vecina Highlights and Discussion #70-74 Sept. 28-Oct. 2
An important message from the Get a Clue Foundation...
In San Gaspar a man refuses to be with the woman he loves. |
In Progreso another man refuses to believe that a woman doesn't want him. |
In the DF a woman clings to her classist opinions, driving her to cheat on one man and to be completely controlled by her lust for another. |
There are many more like them...grown people are lost in a haze of blissful dumbassery. They need a clue. And you can help. Yes, for just pennies a day, you can help fund an epiphany. Won't you consider sending a donation?

[Recapper commentary and snark]
vocabulary word(translation)
Anto tells Sara about Cheo being hired as a hitman. He also tells her that Cheo did not follow through and reported it to the police. Sara thinks that very noble of Cheo. [Yeah. It is. That doesn’t mean I have to still like Cheo, does it?] Sara heads right for the station to be with Cheo. He’s there waiting to see if the criminals call. The police want to try and trace the call.
Juancho goes to Anto’s apartment to apologize. He brings chocolate. An aching Sebastian informs him that Anto is not there. Juancho leaves, but comes back….just as Sebas was lying back down. Juancho asks if he can wait for Anto to show up. Sebas lets him in. When he finally gets home, Anto accepts the apology [None too cheerfully in my opinion] and refuses the chocolate noting that they do him harm [hmmm. Important information to tuck away for later? Or just a lame excuse?] Juanco leaves and Anto fills Sebastian in on the unfolding events. Sebas thinks Anto should leave and have someone else take his place. Anto refuses to do that. Anto finds it odd that Cheo was contacted. How did “they” know that Cheo had a problem with Anto. Sebas reminds him that all of San Gasp [today especially!] knows Anto’s business with Sara. Maybe they know his business with Sara, Anto says, but they don’t know about Cheo.
Natalia makes an appointment for Isa to see a therapist. Her friend needs help. Nat begs her not to miss the appointment. Isa can’t let go of Ric.
Magda picks up Vladimir from Edwina’s. They talk about the globo.
Juancho is home alone. Simon is still dressed like an Oomp Loompa and mixing chemicals. Sara is also out. Merce calls and doesn’t like him being slouch. She reminds him to study.
Sara arrives at the station and the writers start messing with my head. Sara is terribly worried about his safety. He and Fidel assure her that he’s safe. Everything will get taken care of and she’s have him around for a while. Cheo tells her that he couldn’t do anything to Anto, because it would have hurt Sara. [Stop being noble. I’m trying to not like you.] Cheo’s phone rings. It’s Roque. Doofus.
Nelson talks to Nacho about the rumors of the plant closing. Nacho sort of confirms the rumors. Nelson also notices a little sparkle in Laila’s eyes. Nelson even gets a dicho right! Nacho says she is just a good, supportive friend. Poor Laila. She looked so crushed!
Antonio calls Isa. Nat tells him that she’s really tired. Nat gives Anto hell to pass on to Sebas. She’s mad that Sebas didn’t even try to see her when he was in town. She threatens to find someone who does want to see her. She and Anto hang up. Isa whines that if Anto had not to descuidar(neglect) her, she wouldn't have had to seek out Ricardo.
Sebas is shocked to hear Nat’s threat, but claims he trusts her. When Anto asks why Sebas gave her hell about that time Ric sent flowers, Sebas says it’s Ric he doesn’t trust. What would Anto do if Ric was sniffing around Isa? Anto would laugh. Isa wouldn’t even give Ric a second glance.
Ric meanwhile is brooding and thinking about Isa refusing to leave Anto. Ric is great in bed, but she and Ric are too different. All Antonio can offer is a name. Ric can offer her so much more. Ric gets mad, but seems to cheer up when he remembers that there is a hit out on Antonio. Muerto el perro, se acaba la rabia(lit: Dead dog, no rabies. In this context: Problem solved.)
Stop sleeping on Cheo, Sara!!! Everyone is still at the station waiting for Cheo to get a call from Anselmo. Cheo wants her to go home and get some rest. She will stay until she knows what's going on with Cheo. Cheo gets his hopes hope. Sara gently dashes them. [I say crush them!!!!!!!]
Anto calls the station and finds out Sara been there all night. He looked upset to me. Rafa arrives and Anto tells him that they need to increase security at the plant.
Bruno and Simon arrive home after a long night of trying to save trees. Juancho has made them breakfast...which doesn’t get eaten. When he tells Simon and Bruno about the deal with Cheo, they turn right back around and head to the station.
Nelson tells Pepe they might be closing the plant. Pepe doesn’t think that’s true. Ramon (aka known as hot head hotty) also overhears and commences to hot head.
Anto informs Rafa that for now, the plant is spared from closing. Rafa is relieved, but Antonio still isn’t going to say anything to the workers. He doesn’t want them to worry.
Ramon makes like a revolutionary. They’re playing dirty! We deserve to know! Storm the office! [ok. I may have exaggerated a tad.]
Pablo asks Anselmo if the dirty deed has been done dirt cheap. Anelsmo doesn’t think so. Pedro tells Anselmo to call Cheo.
Everyone at the station jumps when Cheo gets the call. Cheo explains to Anselmo that he couldn’t do the job. There were too many guards around Anto. Cheo tells Anselmo he wants to give the gun and the money back. Pablo cuts the call. The folks in the police station deflate. Cheo wasn’t on the phone long enough for them to trace the call. I they got was that it came from San Gasp.
Ramon and the other workers storm the office. Anto explains that he told the higher ups that they should not close the plant. He also tells them he didn’t tell them because he didn’t want them worried. Antonio asks how they found out. Nelson volunteers that there were rumors. Finally everyone is shuffled out of the office.
Fidel instructs Cheo to stall if Anselmo calls again. They need more time.
Back at Pedro’s Lair, Pedro asks gain if Anselmo is sure Cheo had the guts. Anselmo is sure, but if Pedro says the word, Anselmo will shoot Cheo if need be.
Antonio worries about how much information seems to be leaking from the plant. He’s more and more convinced that there is a mole. There was a time when Rafa would have put his hands to the fire for any of the employees, but now even he is not so sure.
Anselmo calls Cheo again and asks how many guards Anto had. Cheo tries to stall and talks a lot about how many guards Anto seemed to have. Does Anselmo now understand why it was so hard to get to him? Again, Pedro cuts the call. And again, they again are unable to trace the call. Anselmo calls again. As instructed by Pedro, Anselmo tell Cheo that he has until the morning to kill Anto...or Cheo will be the next one to die. Don’t even try to hide. Anselmo will look under rocks to find him. Cheo tells the room the he has 24 hours to kill Anto.
Pedro tells Anselmo he knows what to do if Cheo doesn’t kill Andrade. And don’t leave any traces.
Javi goes to see Bruno, but he gets Juancho instead. Juancho reports on everyone’s whereabouts. It sounds like Juancho is messing with Simon’s rocket stuff again. [But this time I almost wonder if this is going to turn into a Juancho is an unrecognized prodigy plot...naaaah]
Fidel, Quintin and Cheo discuss where he can lay low for a while. Cheo has some family in Zacatecas. Simon and Bruno arrive. They’ve assumed Cheo did something stupid. Sara defends him. Sara explains that someone contacted Cheo to kill Anto. And now Cheo is in trouble!
Edwina surfs the web in search of globo info. She realizes she needs more time than she thought. She wonders when’s the last time she took a vacation. Ay! It was when Vladimir was born!
Sara tells Simon and Bruno that Cheo and the police were just trying to figure out how to help Cheo when they arrived. Simon and Bruno think it’s a good idea for Cheo to head to his family in Zacatecas [So they can be in danger, too?], but Fidel has other plans. If these guys want blood, blood they will get! They will fake an attack. First they need to call Anto.
Antonio takes the call. Fidel explains that they’ve been unable to trace the call, the bad guys don’t want the money back and Cheo’s life has been threatened. Fidel tells Anto they want to fake an attack.
Padre V and Laura talk about the classes. Bruno won’t be able to teach the hydroponics class for now. Padre V tells her about the orange grove getting poisoned.
Anto is puts on a bulletproof vest in preparation for the fake attack. Antonio grumbles about wearing it. It’s part of the plan Fidel planned. It will be the coartada(reason) that Antonio doesn’t actually die in the attack. [I confess, I was hoping for a fake death/safe-house with Sara storyline] Antonio pauses. Whoa. They’re really going to shoot?? His guards tell him not to worry. They gun will be loaded with balas de salva(blanks). The only thing Anto has to do is act like he actually got hit.
Sara worries. Juancho harshly tells her to chill. Anto is not going to get hurt. She’s worried about Cheo! If the bad guys don’t buy it, they’ll kill him. Cheo never should have gotten mixed up with them! Simon reminds her that there’s no turning back. They have to trust in Fidel’s plan. Bruno is as distrusting [is that a word?] as I am. He totally thinks Cheo is using this to get on Sara’s good side. Juancho disagrees. Bruno reminds him to STFU about this plan though. Cheo will be in danger if it gets out that this was all fake. [ Juancho is a bocón. Cheo is doomed.]
Cheo worries. He had no idea that this would get so complicated. Fidel reminds Cheo to remember everything he told him. Sara sends him pep-texts. To Cheo’s disappointment “Te quiero” is not one of them.
Sebas wonders what to say to his friend at a time like this. Sebas worries that a bad guy will be sent as backup to make sure Anto dies. Sebas jokingly says he loves him.
Isa arrives for her therapist’s appointment….but bails when Ric calls.
Cheo sees Anto leave the Conatrol parking lot and follows him.
Fidel asks Quintin “you switched the bullets, right?” Quintin is all “The bullets!!!!!!!” [Oh yeah I dropped the F-bomb. Not funny Quintin.]
Anto heads for the San Gasp Plaza, gets out of his car and buys a bottle of agua. Cheo watches from a corner. Anto heads back to his car. Cheo calls out “Ingeniero!” they nod at each other. Cheo shoots 3 times!! Anto hits the ground! Cheo runs with the guards in pursuit!
FIN
I bet I'm just falling for their trickery.
Nelson was also getting on my last nerve stirring up the Conatrol hotheads as usual. Haven't these guys learned by now that not only is Antonio working day and night to keep the plant open, he's also putting his LIFE on the line. Dopes!
I was glad we had a Titina free episode, although Sebas was still feeling the effects of his last visit with her and her family.
Yeah, I also got the idea that they are playing Juancho as some secret genius with computers and programs. But I'm still more inclined to believe he's totally messing up Simon's rocket program.
I'm trying something new ( the little dashes) so that when I switch subjects it won't be so confusing
'Cause I switch subjects all the time, and it makes sense to me, but later I realize I'm confusing people all over the place
---
Nope, you don't have to like Cheo, I will protect your right to dislike him anyway
Nelson telling Nacho to go after Leila was cute - Nelson is the one I have trouble disliking - he seems so nice, how can he be a traitor?
----
"hot head hottie" - perfect just perfect! I'm gonna call him that from now on, especially since I can never remember his name.
---
Juancho is trying so I'll grudgingly give him grudging credit, Padre V's talk did some good
---
"Simon and Bruno arrive. They’ve assumed Cheo did something stupid. " - probably 'cause he did, just not what they thought
----
I loved when Fidel said 'if they want blood they'll get it' so action movie
And them Sebas acting out getting shot was hi-larios
---
'Juancho is a bocón. Cheo is doomed' - yeah that's what I was thinking
----
I don't know Sara, Tonio was lying really still in that last scene, I wonder too.
I really didn't get the impression that Nelson was purposely trying to poke a hornet's nest. He's just such a blabbermouth. I can't think of him as a bad guy either!
I'm all over the place all the time, sneaky! Let's sit at a table together :)
anybody welco--wait, what was that up there *scroll scroll* --me
Ok many thoughts on this one so bear with me....
[I say crush them!!!!!!!] Yes this seems like the only way to stop Cheo's hopes. Even then you might have to stomp them & then bury them for additional measures. Possibly also burn them. Ay Sarita, can you say mixed signals?
Ramon (aka known as hot head hotty) also overhears and commences to hot head. Hahaha He seems to know how to hot head really well. Agree with sneakytwoshoes, love that nickname. And I totally think he must of been a revolutionary in a past life.
Simon is still dressed like an Oomp Loompa and mixing chemicals This is exactly what he looked liked! Didn't notice it until you pointed it out.
[I confess, I was hoping for a fake death/safe-house with Sara storyline] I was wishing that Cheo would have to hide out for a long long long period of time, but I like your idea so much better!
Like the idea of Edwina continuing her space interest without Simon. But hopefully those two kiss and make up soon.
I would like to see how Juancho goes around town and tries to makes amends with his very teenagy attitude. That little rascal is started to grow on me.
Anto & Sebas continue to crack me up. I think an episode where we followed them around for a day would be pretty entertaining stuff.
"Nelson was also getting on my last nerve stirring up the Conatrol hotheads as usual" So agree Vivi. Hate how he betrays CONATROL right under everybody's nose.
And that last scene was pretty intense. Knowing you're about to get shot, no matter if it's set up, must be terrifying.
jlk
I knew all day that I was going to miss my 'novela. I'm so grateful for your recap.
At least I'll get to see the last scene repeated today, I hope.
Thank you for the Monday recap, Sara!
I found the whole "I don't like chocolates" thing weird, too, Sara. I think he's mentioned not liking sweets before, but this sounds like something more than just not liking.
"Nelson even gets a dicho right!" I was gobsmacked!
"I say crush them!!!!!!!" Agreed! Don't give Cheo even a hint of hope.
"Storm the office! [ok. I may have exaggerated a tad.]" Barely. I had the same impression.
"I almost wonder if this is going to turn into a Juancho is an unrecognized prodigy plot...naaaah" I'll believe it when I see it.
"Isa arrives for her therapist’s appointment….but bails when Ric calls." Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Vivi, until you mentioned it, I didn't even think about the lack of Titina. Is it mean to say I didn't miss her at all?
Lol, sneaky, I find your comments perfectly coherent...does that mean I'm scattered too?
jlk, I agree, I miss Edwina and Simon together, too.
She's just lucky Pedro doesn't listen
===
jlk - re following Tonio and Sebas around for a day - yeah they're entertaining but all day without respite might be too much for me, especially with Sebas' recent attitudes about cheating
===
Vivi and Diva - I missed Titina, I mean who else can cut give Chebi what he really deserves ;)
===
I like chocolates but can't eat them - they give me migranes, maybe that's Tonio's problem too, or maybe they don't agree w/his tummy.
===
also Sara the squirrel thing is making me laugh every time I see it, thanks
Thanks, 5ft!
LESSON OF THE DAY: Never tell Sara a secret.
Cheo runs away after shooting Antonio with Bodyguard #1 (have they been given a name?) in pursuit. Cheo drops the gun before getting in his truck, and drives away. Bodyguard #2 calls an ambulance for Antonio who is motionless on the ground.
Fidel gets the OK that everything went as planned.
Sara & Family are at their apartment waiting for news. Laura stops by to give her condolences to Simon & Bruno for losing their crops. Since Laura doesn’t know about the top secret police operation, Sara decides to be oh so kind and fills her in. She spills everything and I mean everything. Cheo. Money. Gun. Antonio. Police. Fake Assassination Attempt.
Cue sleazy jazzy music. [it’s funny that sleazy music should always be expected when baddies get their freak on]. Isa walks in Rick’s apartment, reads a note, and starts undressing. She sees (& unfortunately so do we) him already naked in bed, waiting expectantly.
Sara then gets a text from Cheo that everything went as planned. He’s on his way back to Progresso. Bruno pulls Sara aside, and gets on her case about telling Laura everything. Sara says that Laura es de confianza (of confidence). [Truthfully I didn’t think Sara & Laura were all that close. When was the last time they talked to each other?]. Yeah, well what about her husband says Bruno. Sara tells him to chill. Laura asked Bruno if he still plans on teaching classes at the church. He’s kind of curt & says he doesn’t know. After Laura leaves, Simon sides with Bruno. Sara gave TMI. [Can I get an amen?]
Pedro and Anselmo hear about the attempt on Antonio through the radio. [very old school there Pedro]. Pedro sends a flunky to the clinic where Antonio is to confirm that Tonio is dead.
Rick, Isa, and the tiger are post-coital. Doorbell. Rick receives a package with money & and a dead rat! When Isa tries to ask who rang, Rick screams at her to butt out. The dead rat turned out to be just a sweet little message from dear old Pedro reminding him of what happens to those who betray him. We see a flashback of when Rick decided to hold back some CONATROL info from Pedro, and he thought bubbles about how he regrets it. He starts to freak out, and when Isa tries to talk to him he yells at her to get out. She does.
SAN GASPER CONATROL: Rafa, Marina, & the CONATROL Gang are worried about Antonio. [they’re old school too apparently, finding out the news on the radio]
Cheo arrives at his apartment. Sees a fishy guy looking at him from across the street. He hightails it to his apartment. Paranoid Cheo calls Fidel about the guy outside his apartment thinking it’s someone out to get him. Turns out it’s someone that competent Police Chief Fidel put to watch over Cheo.
Tonio & Sebas are at the clinic. Fidel tells Antonio to remember that Tonio supposedly took three guns shots, and that Fidel will take care of the press. On their way out of the clinic, Fidel answers the press’ questions. He explains that Antonio survived because he was wearing a bullet proof vest, but the shooter wasn’t caught.
Pedro’s man sees Antonio & Co. walk out of the clinic. He lets Pedro know that Antonio is still alive. Anselmo ask if Pedro wants Cheo to try again. No responds Pedro, Antonio will be more aware than ever. Let me think about what my next step should be.
Edwina goes to her boss asking for all her time off she hasn’t taken. She’s getting 5 weeks of vacation, and won’t take no for an answer. Funny little moment where her boss thinks she’s off her rocker for saying she’s going to go exploring from space. Love quirky Edwina. Later we see her planning her experiment with Vladimir. Something about balloons and cameras.
Rafa & CONATROL gang hear that Antonio has survived the assassination attempt. Cheers all around.
Sara calls Cheo to see how he is doing. Bad. Paranoid. Scared. She tries to calm him down, and promises to visit when things settle down.
Ricks calls Pedro, and gets huffy about the message he recieved. Pedro tells him they need come up with how to get Antonio out of the way, because the plan didn’t work.
Isa lies about going to her therapy appointment. Natalia knows she didn’t go, because the therapist called her, so she made another appointment for Isa. Isa tells her to get off her case.
Juancho tells Simon that the programs on the computer systems he’s using are out of date & could be updated to be more efficient. After some tech talk, Simon agrees to have Juancho help him. Juancho apparently is also good with math & engineering. [well….I guess he is related to smarty pants Simon]. The transformation to a productive Juancho is underway.
Sara & Antonio talk at their apartment complex. Tonio reluctantly gives props to Cheo. Sara says yes he is a good guy. I wouldn’t have ever fallen in love with him if that wasn’t the case. Antonio: So what he did made you look at him with different eyes? Sara: It made me admire him, and see the guy I thought was gone. Antonio ask if she & Cheo are going to get back together because he would rather hear it from her. Sara doesn’t know. A: You were worried for him? S: For you too! After all we’re friends, aren’t we? Antonio has a flashback of when he told Sara how he thinks they have a great friendship between them. Antonio says (almost to himself) that now he understands how hard it is to be friends with someone you had a relationship with. Buenas Noches. He walks away. Sara doesn’t understand what just happened. “Why is it weird to say we’re just friends when he said it first? And he's the one who told my mom he wanted me to stay away from him.[I don't understand Antonio sometimes either Sara]
Pedro & Laura talk. Laura is about to spill the beans about everything that Sara told her, but gets interrupted when Pedro gets a phone call. [I believe that our collective sighs of relief were probably heard on all four corners]
Sebas calls Natalia. You sound down? Is something wrong? Natalia wants to move into Sebas' apartment until she finds her own. Sebas: what did Isa do? Did ya’ll fight? Natalia just tells him she doesn’t feel comfortable anymore. Isa listens behind the door. When Natalia finishes her phone call, Isa comes in to talk.
Lic. Uribe calls Antonio to get information about this assassination attempt he’s being hearing about. Tonio explains the whole thing, and how everything went as planned. Uribe doesn’t want to put anyone in danger, and gives the suggestion of closing down the San Gaspar plant. Antonio tells him there is no need for that, and that they are taking extreme security measures. Antonio also relays his suspicion that he thinks there is a mole in the SAN GASPAR plant and CONATROL HQ. So I would like everything to be kept between me and you, starting with this fake assassination attempt. Uribe agrees to do so, and tells him to be careful
Sebas comments to Antonio about Natalia wanting to move. Tonio doesn’t really pay any mind, and doesn’t thinks it’s for anything serious.
Natalia and Isa talk. Isa wonders if the situation is really as bad as for Natalia to move out. Yes Natalia says. You’ve changed for the worst since this thing with Rick started. And you don’t want any help. Isa promises that she will go to therapy. Natalia doesn’t believe her, and feels that she wants to continue her obsession with Rick. She doesn’t want to see it all go bad for Isa, and thinks that Isa should want to go to therapy for herself. Isa promises she does, and ask Natalia to go with her.
Pedro & fellow head honcho criminals go out for brunch. They complain to Pedro that if there was a chance for the plant to close down why try to kill Antonio. Because he gets in our way, and if things had gone according to the plan my mole from CONATROL HQ (Rick) would have taken his place. They need to focus on finding new spots in where they can steal the gas. One of the criminals starts to question Pedro’s decisions. Infighting. Followers aren’t too happy with Pedro’s leadership. They tell him to do what he needs to do, but get results.
Bruno & Javi are chilling. It will take about 3 months to know if the chemicals they sprayed will help the dying crops. In the meantime Bruno plans on renting out his truck to make money. [Nice little moment of friendship between these two buds.]
Cheo hanging by himself at his apartment. Sara visits him. She has remembered their good times, and is going to give his another chance. Oh great, here we go again.
jlk
This episode brought home just how many moles Pedro has in Anto's world (even unaware ones like Laura). When the folks at the plant called Sebas at the hospital, and Nelson was there-- thank goodness Fidel reminded Sebas not to say anything about the plan, even though Sebas thought it best to ease their worries. We know about Sara and Laura. Then there was Uribe at HQ who usually tells Rick everything. Thank goodness Tonio asked him not to tell anyone. So many ways this info can get back to Pedro. Ay yay yay!
That moment with Javi and Bruno was cute. Javi made some play on words with the saying they've been tossing around the last few episodes (God tightens the belt/cord, but He doesn't strangle/choke us.). I don't even know exactly what he said, but the way he started rolling on the floor laughing at his own joke and got Bruno laughing reminded me of hanging out with my friends.
"Pedro & Laura talk. Laura is about to spill the beans about everything that Sara told her, but gets interrupted when Pedro gets a phone call. [I believe that our collective sighs of relief were probably heard on all four corners]" You're so right. That moment was more suspenseful than the "assasination"! When will Laura begin to suspect something isn't right with Pedro's businesses?
Soooo. Juancho is a prodigy! You guys were right. We're about to have a turnaround here.
I may have to FF through the big-mouth Sara scenes when I watch this.
Denise, yes that moment was definitely a close one. Unfortunately it seems that Laura is very clueless on what Pedro does, so it might be a while. Even if she starts to suspect I feel like it's going to have to be in your face evidence before she actually believes it.
Sara, you might have to FF. She might be our protag but I was screaming at her right alongside Bruno.
Thanks & glad ya'll enjoyed!

"Something about balloons and cameras."
This really makes me nervous. What if a camera captures an image of Pedro's men pilfering gas? Or something nefarious? I hope I'm being a worrywart...but they are not letting go of this balloon story. I thought it was to bring Edwina and Simon back together, but with this I'm not so sure.
Kind of quickie today. *snort*
Sara decides to take Cheo back. She even accepts the engagement ring again...but don’t call it an engagement. It’s a compromiso sin compromiso. Blech. Just FF through those scenes.
Antonio and Sebas continue with Community Outreach program. Antonio mumbles a line about the sensors, too. Dude...diction. If they keep losing the gasoline, no one will be able to avoid the closing of the plant.
Lic Uribe does NOT tell Ric the atentado was fake. I repeat Lic Uribe keeps his mouth shut. He does tell Ric that there is still a possibility of the plant closing. Ric frets. If Anto fails, he will come back to the DF. If Anto is successful, he will come back to the DF. It’s a lose lose. Ric needs to act carefully. He needs to make sure Anto fails, but at the same time Ric needs to make sure to make himself indispensable to Pedro. Ric needs to know who the informant is.
Juancho wants to profit off the rocket. Charge people to take pictures with it!
Isa actually enters the therapist's office. She takes a call from Anto and then Ric. She lies to both of them. Anto thinks she’s a a meeting at the gallery. Ric thinks she’s in a meeting with dad. She tells the therapist she doesn’t have a problem. She just failed the first step.
Ric calls Pedro and asks who the informant is. He can give the locations of the sensors and the informant can sabotage them. Pedro refuses to give that information. Pedro will send Ric the locations of the valvulas. Ric will tell him which ones are close to sensors so Pedro’s man can tamper with them. Why do I always get the technical conversations?
Anot advises Sebas to bore Titina to tears. That should make her break up with him. And Sebas tries. He takes her to a super boooring art film/discussion (ok, maybe I wasn’t paying close attention.) Too bad Sebas doesn’t know that Titina is in it to win it. She wants to marry him and go live in the DF with him! There’s also a stupid yoga scene.
Simon and Bruno plan to rent out the tractor and fertilizer systems to help make ends meet.
Even though it’s Saturday, Anto and his orange sherbet shirt will be going to the office. He calls Isa first. At Sebas’s urging (um. Yeah, not paying close attention as to exactly why. ) She tells Anto that she will be spending the day with Silvina at the gallery.
Anto and his sherbet shirt run into Sara. He notices the ring. Caras de longing desire.
Vlad and Edwina test the GPS for the balloon? Still making me nervous.
Sara and Simon have a long FF worthy scene about the compromiso sin compromiso.
Cheo and Roque have a FF worthy scene about Cheo and Sara. We’ve been there and done that. If something different was said and I’ve just forgotten, let us know.
Rafa tells Anto that there have been no reports of gas pilferage from the community look outs. Anto worries because they are still losing gas. Are the community folks really on their side? Anto hopes so...for everyone’s sake.
Ok. Call for help. Ric receives all the clandestine valve location information from Pablo. There are a lot of them. Ric didn’t realize how much power and how many valves Pedro had. Sooo….is Ric planning on ratting out some of those locations to Conatrol? You know, since Pedro had so many. Did I understand that correctly? Isa arrives and they get their freak on.
Bruno, Juancho and Padre V talk about soccer before the game. Laura arrives for one of her classes. Bruno is brusque. Laura can’t figure out why he’s hot and then cold, yes and then no. Juancho even comments on Bruno’s fickle ways when they get in the truck.
Edwina and Vlad check the weather. Things are right for launching the balloon. They weigh items. The balloon can only carry 500 grams. Vlad wants his robot to go up. Yay!!! It doesn't weigh too much.
Awww. I feel bad for Nelson. He has a little girl. Pedro pulls up and tells Nelson to get it the call. Pedro scary waves at the girl. Nelson tells her he loves her. Oh….this is not cool. Pedro makes vaguely threatening remarks about Nelson’s daughter. Because coming from Pedro “what’s your beautiful daughter’s name?” and “She’s grown so much” are vaguely threatening (and the fact that Pedro knew where Nelson lived. They had always met secretly before.) Pedro wants Nelson to sabotage the sensors. Pedro will tell him exactly where they are. Nelson will get a raise for the risk he’s taken. Turning down this offer is really not an option for Nelson, but he tries. He doesn’t understand them or how he can get the job done (something like that.) Nelson tells Pedro to maybe look for someone else. Pedro is putting a lot of money on the line and Nelson...his life! Pedro makes a straight up threat to the family. Nelson is instructed to learn the programs for the sensors. Pedro dismisses him.
Silvina calls Anto and asks if he knows where Isa is. She’s been incommunicado for some time. Silvina hasn’t seen her in a while. Anto calls Isa’s cell, but she’s at Ric’s. He sees who the call is from. Ric tells Isa not to dare answer Anto’s call while she is in his(Ric’s) apartment. He gets scary controlly. Oh, Isa….we’ll fund you clue AND your therapy. This has just taken a wrong turn to not funny anymore.
Magda remembers that she and Vlad are supposed to attend Fidel’s soccer game. They come up with the story that there is a birthday party Vlad wants to attend.
Fidel, Nacho and Quintin discuss soccer and where they will put the Jaibolera. Did Fidel look particularly handsome to anyone? No? Ok.
Cheo comes to see Sara at El Molcajete. With chocolate. I’m not sure that makes up for his again pushing them to marry...for her to quit working….for lots of babies to be made. Juancho arrives too. Yay.
Simon and Bruno have rented the tractor. Dios aprieta, pero no ahorca. They head off to Nacho’s for a couple of beers.
Anto keeps fretting about Isa. He remembers hearing her voice over Ric’s phone and the conversation where Sebas asked what Anto would do if Ric was buzzing around Isa. He can’t believe there could be any truth to that.
:) Dude, I think Javi's been listening to all our dirty rocket jokes!
Back to watching...
ProtaSara seriously needs to get a clue about Cheo. Barely 12 hours back together, and already he's getting pushy and possessive and showing his macho streak. Run away, Sara!
Also in need of a clue today is Tonio. Actually, he has been handed huge clues, and he still can't make the leap to the conclusion that Isa is cheating on him. What's it going to take?
Very frustrating.
AND Juancho may be back under his influence!
The compromiso sin compromiso...............alrighty then, moving along.
Got a kick out of juancho's entrepreneurship. Hopefully he'll wise up on Cheo(since Sara obviously isn't). When he was defending Cheo being with Sara, Bruno sarcastically said "sure he cares for her" which led to juancho looking pensive. Must be something in the San gaspar air that makes him more tolerable to me.
Hopefully we keep the therapist, Isa very much needs it. Her relationship with Rick has taken a dark turn to the weird. And loved the look the therapist had with the lies spewing out of Isa. Should have more of a poker face dude in your line of work.
Like you said ViVi, "what's it going to take?" For......
1. For Antonio to realize that his happiness is with Sara. Dude, if it looks like a duck, etc......then guess what it is?? If Sara is always on your mind, and not your fiance then.....2+2= 4 Antonio.
2. For Sara to realize Cheo is half caveman
In spite of my mini rant I'm enjoying these colorful characters and stories :D
jlk
Heck, I even want Cheo happy....with someone else.
Vivi, I'm laughing at your comment because I was yelling at her to shut up!
jlk, thank you for the Tuesday recap!
"She sees (& unfortunately so do we) him already naked in bed, waiting expectantly." The look on his face was disgusting!
"Funny little moment where her boss thinks she’s off her rocker for saying she’s going to go exploring from space." It made me sad she's not talking to Simon right now, 'cause he'd totally feel her pain on that :(
"The transformation to a productive Juancho is underway." Mr. 5ft's take on this is that while having programming that might get stuck in an infinite loop or crash the program is no bueno, just because it's "older" programming doesn't mean it absolutely has to be re-done. And he said it sounds like Juancho is headed for a job in "Development" which is a department Mr. 5ft's department works with, so...good thing this is all fictional!
Natalia asking Sebas if she could move into his apartment was so incredibly sad to me.
Sara, thank you for the Wednesday recap!
"It’s a compromiso sin compromiso. Blech." Thank you for capturing my feelings on the subject.
"She tells the therapist she doesn’t have a problem. She just failed the first step." Oh, that cracked me up! I have memories of hearing "I don't have a problem" and having to restrain my eye roll as I asked "OK. Who is it who thinks you have a problem?"
You got more out of that technical sensor conversation than I did.
I've actually heard the name of the director whose movie Sebas wanted to see, and he's supposed to be good...but not everyone likes the same things. I was hoping to see how that played out. Would Sebas actually be enjoying the movie while Titina was bored out of her mind?
"I feel bad for Nelson. He has a little girl." That was terrifying! I hate Pedro. Have I mentioned how much I hate Pedro? Well, I do. He needs to be taken out before this is all over. And no jail for him. He's way too dangerous.
"Oh, Isa….we’ll fund you clue AND your therapy." I'd like to pledge some Internet pesos to the cause.
Dude, yeah, Fidel's hot. I dig his biceps. I'm shallow. I'd like the mustache to go, and maybe a different haircut, but other than that....
"I’m not sure that makes up for his again pushing them to marry...for her to quit working….for lots of babies to be made." Shut up, Cheo! Shut up!
Vivi, thanks for that joke explanation! Ummmm, it sure does sound like someone's been listening!
"Pedro scary waves at the girl. Nelson tells her he loves her. Oh….this is not cool." When Pedro smiles, let's just say he does not light up the room. Creepy.
Fidel comes over to Edwina's to hassle Vlad about skipping the futbol match. He sticks to his story about the friend's birthday party. Magda tells him to siddown and eat and quit bugging Vlad and Fidel gives her puppy dog eyes about wanting some frijoles.
Titina fell asleep during meditation and when she wakes up, Sebastian sends her to the kitchen while he watches some futbol on TV. She pouts, but complies. I think Sebastian cooking her a horrible meal would have been more effective.
Antonio comes over to El Molcajete and Cheo greets him like a bro. He even invites him to sit with them and Sara goes to get him some lunch. He gets a text from Isa that she's on her way home and uses that as an excuse to get his lunch to go. He's still got to wait and that means making small talk with Cheo.
Well, crap, Titina says she cooked something fast and is going to blindfold him and feed him. Like a baby bird. RPC! RPC!
Bruno and Simon head over to Nacho's place for some beers al fresco and a game of dominos. Nacho's still in high spirits about his divorce, but he's not going to let Berenice take it all. He grabs a couple of beers for some of Bruno and Simon's fellow farmers. The new dudes think there's no point going after Pedro…he'll get his eventually. They want to form some sort of a protective group and they propose that Bruno head it up and get paid for it. Sounds like he'd be consulting or something, so the farmers don't get taken advantage of.
Sara has Antonio's lunch ready and he insists on paying for it. He shakes hands with Cheo and Juancho before he goes. Cheo's a big fan of Antonio's now, though Juancho thinks he's a snob. Or is Cheo just trying to test Sara, one wonders.
Isa remembers some of her and Ric's greatest? hits. Gross. She's annoyed with Antonio for not returning her text message.
Pedro calls Ric about the sensors. Pedro needs really detailed instructions on how to disable them? Ric says it's easy.
Sounds like Sebastian gave in to the charms of Titina again. Antonio comes home and laughs at him. Sebas is determined to get rid of her. He goes back to the room to throw her out. Because they're "working."
Meanwhile, Antonio settles in to call Isabel. She lies about being with Silvina and he calls her on it and asks why she's lying--Silvina hasn't seen her in weeks. She's been lying to everyone. Isa turns on the waterworks…vocally anyway…and says she's depressed and has been avoiding people. She flips through a magazine while fake-crying about feeling so terrible that she's even started seeing a psychoanalyst.
Ric. Pedro. Technical specs that don't sound all that easy. Ric keeps piling on the warnings about how precise this all needs to be. Pedro doesn't seem the least bit intimidated.
Theme song! Mmm, pizza with anchovies and garlic!
Antonio's not exactly buying this "depression" story, but Isa sells it. It helps that she's doing it over the phone. She adds a touch of martyrdom with "Your problems are so much bigger than mine." Antonio ends up apologizing for not realizing how terrible she was feeling. UGH! So now depression and therapy are her cover story for her shenanigans with Ric. She cracks up laughing when she gets off the phone. Natalia comes home and Isa brags about how Antonio luuuuuuurves her. Ugh!
Antonio tells Sebas about Isa's "depression." He feels bad for not noticing. They remember Natalia wanting to move out and think this supports Isa's story.
The farmers leave Nacho's and Bruno confesses he's not sure he knows anything about organizing an asociación (co-op?). Nacho offers to advise him anytime he needs to.
Nelson gets his instructions from Anselmo. He's going to have to come up with a really good excuse for being at the plant on a Sunday.
Juancho's crowing about Cheo and Sara's reconciliation and impending wedding. Because Cheo's the coolest. Bruno just turns up the TV.
Cheo and Sara smooch outside the apartment building and she doesn't like feeling like they might be putting on a show for the people looking out their windows. Or hanging out on their balconies, like Antonio. Sebas joins him with some beers and gets an eyeful. He drags Antonio back inside, but can't resist a final look himself. Sara shoves Cheo away again. It's Saturday night and she just wants to head to bed early, but he wants to par-tay. Sara gets away from him and rushes back inside. It looks like Cheo follows her.
Nelson calls Fidel and tells him he won't be at the game. He says he has to take his mother-in-law home. Now Fidel really lays the guilt trip on Vlad for not coming to the game.
Juancho's all suited up for the game. Sara runs back upstairs for the truck keys. Cheo arrives to surprise Sara. Sara runs into Antonio in that downstairs hallway and Cheo invites him to the game, but Antonio's planning to go take care of some…personal business. Sara isn't terribly happy to see Cheo, but, well, he brought tortas, so I guess that's cool.
Fidel drops Vlad and Magda off at some house that he doesn't think looks like there's a party going on. Fidel tries one last time to get Vlad to skip the "party." Once he drives off, Edwina pulls up down the block and they're off on their adventure!
Nelson claims he got behind on work and the security guard lets him in. He texts Anselmo or Pedro that he made it in and whichever one demands that he text them again when the job is done.
Grumpy Fidel picks up Rodobaldo and complains about Vlad and Nelson being missing. Apparently Nelson told Rod that he was taking his dog to the vet. He's worried. Fidel's worried too…about how to change the lineup!
Nelson surprises Calixto, who's surprised to see him on a Sunday. Suuure, that's not going to be suspicious later. He offers to pay for some tacos if Calixto will go get them, then he sits down to break whatever needs breaking.
Launch site. Vlad, Edwina, and Magda start pulling equipment out of the trunk. I love Magda's little happy dance! The balloon is inflated and the gondola is loaded up and ready to go.
It sounds like a Vegas casino in the control room. Nelson tells Pedro it's done, so Pedro tells his guy he's got 6 hours to take out the gas.
The balloon countdown commences annnnd we have liftoff! Happy dances all around as the balloon ascends!
The futbol match is over. Padre V is pleased. If the Artilleros lose today, they might still have a shot at the championship. Juancho sees the weather balloon and drops everything in shock.
The Artilleros aren't doing so well. Rodobaldo points out the weather balloon and the whole game stops and stares. It looks like it's glowing from the light hitting it.
Cheo and Sara have ice cream. Sara is distracted from a potential makeout session in the park by the weather balloon. Cheo thinks it's an "ovni" (technically, "O.V.N.I." for "objeto volador no identificado"; an unidentified flying object, UFO; a flying saucer). All of San Gaspar is astounded.
Back at the launch site, Edwina has lost communication with the GPS, but they still have a visual and it's following the expected trajectory. Edwina brought tortas for them to eat while they wait for the balloon to get to its max altitude and burst.
Nelson finishes his nefarious doings right before Calixto gets back with lunch.
Isa calls Ric and invites him over. Natalia's out in Cuernavaca.
Rodobaldo is sure it's an ovni, too. Ramon swears a buddy of his saw some in Las Cruces. Another guy talks about there being extraterrestrials among them. Fidel thinks this whole thing is silly. They get a call on the radio…they've been getting reports of flying objects!
Simon's not buying the ovni theories. Padre V is waiting for the news to tell them what's going on. Sara wonders what they're here for, if it is an ovni. She laughs at Cheo and says he's watching too many movies.
Edwina panics…the balloon is off course because of the winds. She hopes the wind dies down, but if it doesn't, they'll have to monitor it from the house.
Instead of Ricardo, a perfumed and barely-dressed Isabel opens the door to Antonio! (Not gonna lie, I gasped in shock and horror!) He looks confused. She invites him in and then rushes off to call Ric. He won't answer his phone, so she texts him.
The doorbell rings and Antonio obligingly opens it…to Ric. Who pretends he's there looking for Natalia. And then hints that Antonio should be more worried about Isa.
FIN!
I loved the line about breaking whatever needs breaking. You are so good at zingy snark.
" She flips through a magazine while fake-crying about feeling so terrible that she's even started seeing a psychoanalyst." I've never seen someone pull this off before: fake crying while looking cynical and bored.
I think Nelson's days of non-detection may be numbered. He told Fidel one excuse(mother-in-law)and Pepe a different one (dog to vet).
Thanks jlk for Tues' recap - I especially liked " Rick, Isa, and the tiger are post-coital" -I noticed the tiger was still there too, why doesn't Isa say anything about it if she doesn't like it, or is she only thinking about sex when she's w/Ric.
-----
Sara thanks for Weds' recap "Laura can’t figure out why he’s hot and then cold, yes and then no." made me giggle but now I have that song stuck in my head
ugh ProtaSara I can't even with you anymore
-----
Vivi thanks for the explanation on Javi's joke - the writers have been listening to us!
______
getting there, will keep reading but better post before my computer loses this ( happened yesterday)
Maybe we can start a fund for that?
(It can't be illegal to pretend hire a pretend hitter for a fictional character right?)

Thanks Diva for Thurs' recap - this bit "Well, crap, Titina says she cooked something fast and is going to blindfold him and feed him. Like a baby bird. RPC! RPC!" has me laughing - what was up with that - weird
'Course there was lots of weird in this ep. Cheo being nice to Tonio was weirding me out and from the look on Tonio's face, him too.
------
I just think its funny they're switching the dad can't make it to his kid's soccer game trope, to a kid can't make it to his dad's soccer game thing , cute.
I totally think Cheo is just testing Sara when he's being all extra nice to Tonio. I don't think he considers them buds at all. I'm just waiting for him to bring up that Sara had sex with Tonio again.
Antonio has shown up unannounced to Isa’s apartment. He answers the doorbell to find Ric. Can’t tell who is more surprised. Ric says he’s there to see Natalia about “work.” Anto’s not buying it. He asks Ric why he is sniffing around Nat, knowing that she is Sebas’ girlfriend.
Ric: -- Sebas is no saint. I saw that “alergia” on his neck.
Isabel acts surprised to see Ric, and again gets away with living her double life.
Edwina is trying to establish contact with the GPS of the globo. She tries to explain to Magda and Vlad why she’s having difficulty, using impressive technical stratospheric terms. Magda cara de “if you say so.”
Isa and Anto in a restaurant. Anto asks how her session went with her therapist.
She says, “Uh, great. My therapist says that telling you my problems was a great step forward.” Anto is happy to hear this. When pressed, he tells Isa that, yes, when his mission in San Gasp is completed, he will come back to México to marry and live with Isabel.
Simón is expounding to Cheo, Sara, Bruno, Juancho and Vicente on probability that Edwina’s globo was an OVNI. That is to say – nil. Sure Carl Sagan said that there is undoubtedly life on other planets, Simón goes on to say, but that doesn’t mean they are jet setting back and forth for visits. Bruno suggests they all get out their x-ray guns just in case. [ha ha]
Lucita interrupts the convo with a call to Vicente. She thinks she has seen a flying saucer.
Fidel, Quintín and dispatcher guy discuss how more than a 100 people have called in reporting sighting the flying phenoms. Quintín is convinced that ET’s are coming to get them. Fidel orders the fellows to call the airport etc..
Sebas is acosted by Titina as he comes out of Anto’s apartment. She is in a panic about the “OVNI’s”. He doesn’t want to hear any of her “sandeces”(babosadas, tonterías). They run into Chepe and Titi’s brother at the gate. The men tease Titina about the OVNI’s and then decide to all go out to eat.
Titi is consigned to the back seat. Hmmm.
At Edwina’s the trio are discouraged because they still can’t locate their globo.
Yada yada. CGI picture of the globo’s gondola and parachute floating over pretty countryside.
Fidel and Quintín again. The latter insists that it’s got to be OVNI’s. Fidel ponders and then exclaims, “Of course! Simón!” and exits stage right.
Pepe confronts Nelson in front of his, Nelson’s, house. “¿Qué te traes?(What’s up with you?) Why are you telling so many lies? And why are you in your work uniform on a Sunday?”
Theme song :-) Doo doo dee doo.
Pepe and Nelson. Nelson wiggles out of his uncomfortable situation by telling Pepe a lie: that he put on his uniform as a cover. He was meeting up with a “chamacona”(hot babe) and didn’t want his wife to know, of course.
Laslo is interviewing Ruperto, a pueblerino from Las Peñas, about the community’s needs, when Edwina’s gondola drops out of the sky in front of Atila.
[Beanie time.] Atila inspects the contents, including the note which says not to open the gondola. But if the note was inside...
Atila is now worried that the Martians are going to be mad.
In Simón’s apt, Cheo is still freaked out by the “OVNI’s”. Fidel enters the apt and calls out, “¡Simón Esparza! What did you do?!” The accuesed, of course, has no idea what Fidel is talking about. Simón says that he is a man of science, not “fuegos artificiales” (fireworks).
Anto and Isa enter his D.F. apt laughing, eating ice cream and enjoying each other’s company. They discuss their relationship. Contrary to what Isa thinks, Anto insists that they are as they have always been, and that he will always be there for her. He kisses her forehead. She inivites herself to spend the night.
Lucita is convinced that the end of the world is nigh. Didn’t the Mayans predict this? Vicente says that he saw the lights also. “Well then,” says Lucita, “we must both be Iluminatti!” “Naw,” says el Padre, “Just some natural phenomenon. Let’s play some canasta and discuss further.”
Sebas, Titi and Titi’s brother (the subtitles call him “Roque,” but that ain’t Roque.) enter the restaurant that the brother has chosen. The guys decide to eat this chicken dish. Will Titi have the same? “No me queda de otra” (I have no other choice), she complains. Bro: Hey! Would Sebas like to check out the wrestling on t.v. tonight? Sebas is into it now. He enjoys the brother’s companionship more than Titi’s, it appears. Titi is not pleased.
At Edwina’s, still no sign of a signal from the GPS of the gondola. She says, “Hopefully someone will find it and call us.”
Vlad: “How will they do that?”
Ed: “Didn’t you write your phone number on the note?”
Vlad: “No, at school they told us to never give out our info to anybody!”
Ed: Face palm
Pedro is giddy upon receiving the news that the “pipa” has been filled with plenty of pressure and with time to spare. Pedro calls Ric. “Get ready. This is just the beginning.”
Sebas drops off Titi and her brother. She gives her brother the evil eye before going in. Bro says pay her no mind; she’s kind of “berrinchuda” (cranky, tantrum-y). How ‘bout we watch some wrassling? Sebas says another day perhaps. As “Chebi” drives away, Bro says, “Love that guy!”
Isa to Anto: I’m so happy to be with you I think I may have to cancel my appt. with the therapist.
Anto: Don’t do that. Finish your treatment.
Isa: Just kidding. It was so great to have this surprise visit from you. To herself: “Please God, don’t let that happen again!”
Fidel and Quintín. OVNI’s, yadda yadda. Quintín decides to “Toodle” OVNI’s on the Internet.
Nelson meets up with “don Pedro” in a dark alley. Pedro tells him that he will now have to alter the sensors 7 days a week. Nelson is incredulous. It’s so much more difficult during the week. That’s Nelson’s problem. He leaves Nelson with a fat envelope full of dough, but Nelson looks at it like its contaminated. He can’t believe he got himself into such a mess.
Atila can’t touch his supper because he’s terrified of the “extraterrestes” he believes he has ticked off. Mom and Dad are mystified.
Vlad doesn’t want to eat either. He’s “depre” because their globo/gondola is lost.
His Mom tries to cheer him up, but he doesn’t respond. Fidel enters and asks Vlad how the party was. “Del nabo,” is Vlad’s reply. [Need some research help here.]
Isa and Anto – post nookie. She’s asleep – and talking in her sleep. “Hazme tuya!” [Dang. She didn’t say “Ricardo.”] Anto figures, “Well, okay. Gotta keep her happy.”
Cheo is dropping Sara off at the apt complex. He’s still looking at the sky and freaking out. Sara laughs and calls him a “necio” (kind of a cross btw “stubborn” and “dumb”), but she says it affectionately. She teases him as he leaves.
Lucita y Vicente still talking about OVNI’s. Vicente knows an expert on the subject – Simón. Lucita can ask him about this subject when he comes around with his payments on the loan she gave him.
Fidel tells Magda about his terrible loss in “fut” and about the OVNI’s that are terrorizing all of San Gaspar. Magda cara de “Uh oh.”
Atila tosses in his sleep. Nightmares won’t let him sleep. He thinks that Vlads action figure was sent by the Marians.
Nelson arrives at Conatrol very early. He asks the night watchman to not mention that he saw him at work on Sunday. No prob? Great!
Isabel sees Anto off at the airport. She is radiant. He is reassured that she is okay. He will call her when he gets to San Gasp. They seem so darned happy.
Magda call Edwina to tell her about the panic that the globo has caused. Edwina thinks its funny and tells Magda not to mention the truth to Fidel.
Quintín calls the reporter Patricio Estevez and tells him of the sightings of the OVNI’s.
Cigala comes home with some firewood, calls for Atila, but doesn’t find him. She goes into his room and straightens his bed, knocking the action figure onto the floor. She doesn’t notice this. She goes back to the main room and is spooked by Laslo and his hatchet as we all are. They small talk.
Nelson sneaks into the sensor control room and hurriedly goes to work. He says out loud, “I can’t go on like this. I’m gonna get caught!”
Last scene:
Ricardo stops Isa outside of her apt. “I’m not going to be your plaything!”
She: Stop. You’re hurting me!
He: It’s going to hurt worse when I tell Antonio that you’re my lover!
She: Go ahead. We’ll see who comes out worse. Me, a Cisneros, or you –
a NACO!
Cue music.

Muchas gracias! I think my favorite part of this recap was your pointing out "Toodle" . That cracked me up!
This was another fun episode. I was so relieved when the globo fell in SDdlP! I was worrying for nothing.
I'm starting to feel bad for Nelson.
Uy, Isa! I would not want to piss off Ric. He practically had steam coming out or his ears... When he wasn't looking like he was gonna cry!
Maybe I'm just crabby.
And I just kept waiting for Isa to call out Ric's name in her sleep and she didn't. *grumble*
*applause*
"[Beanie time.] Atila inspects the contents, including the note which says not to open the gondola. But if the note was inside... " - I was wondering where they kept the note.
I'm loving the ufo storyline - too funny
___
I feel bad for Nelson too - I've really got my fingers crossed for his kids and wife that nothing bad happens to them
____
I think I'm mostly watching for the side plots now, like Titina, and Padre Vicente, and Edwina and her ufo, and Simon and his rocket, Laura & Bruno, even Juancho a little, I've given up on the protagonists till somebody slaps some sense into them
I've been surprised by how much I have enjoyed the rocket and UFO stories. They could so easily be stupid, but I really enjoy them. I even like the "spacey" music!
I want to see Sara and Anto together, and they've done a good job keeping them apart without resorting to stupid stuff. They are apart for very believable reasons.
But like you, I am really in it for these side plots!
There was a lot in this episode that had me chuckling. Toodle was one of them. Titi's brother bromance with Sebas. The ONVI madness too, and the fact that Edwina thinks it's funny too. Vlad's note INSIDE the gondola that tells the person not to open it, yet does not tell them where to return it. Children's logic...
The moment that cracked me up was when Lazlo (with axe in hand) scares Cigala and she says with THAT hair you could scare anyone, and he fluffs up his crazy hair even more and asks if that's better. LOL! :)
I am so ready for Isa to get caught, but it looks like things are going to get violent with Rick before and that's probably what will finally snap her out of this madness.
Sara- Cute kitty photo. Thanks for the info on del nabo. Interesting to see that it means totally different things all over Latin America and Spain.
"He enjoys the brother’s companionship more than Titi’s, it appears. Titi is not pleased." Cracked me up! What I can't figure out, though is if Sebastian is doing it on purpose. Because if he is...best plot EVER!
I'm looking forward to this week's fun :D
