Enamorándome de Ramón, #19, Sept. 4, 2017: The Kiss That Almost Was

Here is the recap, courtesy of RGVChick:

Some scenes combined for continuity

[Previously: As Ramón approaches, Fabiola runs to him and gives him a big hug, but he stands firm with a serious look. Fabiola’s mood turns somber when Ramón confides that he has come to resign from his job.] Despite Fabiola’s efforts to convince him that he needs to stay because she already lost Juana and doesn’t want to lose him too, Ramón is adamant that he must leave his job for fear of causing more problems…and his mother asked him to. There have been too many problems and they know Hortensia won’t let up. Fabiola fears that Juana won’t see her either and thinks it unfair. She is disappointed that they’re giving up. Even though Fabiola asks him not to leave if he cares for her, Ramón is still apprehensive about the possibility that Hortensia will show up at the shop and have him sent to jail. When Fabiola sees that Ramón is not budging, she pleads with him to stay because they will be down a mechanic and he will be hard to replace. This makes Ramón wonder if it’s Fabiola or the “owner” who is asking him to stay, but Fabiola assures him it is both; nevertheless, Ramón says “no” to both and walks off to go talk to Antonio. Refusing to be defeated, Fabiola quickly texts Antonio warning him that Ramón wants to leave and asks him to please not let Ramón go.

At the Medina apartment, Sara thinks the lip reading book is a great idea and wonders if Jorge and Andrea have tried it. After Jorge explains that they need to learn the techniques before they attempt it, Sara prefers that they do the reading and invites them to go to the movies, but Andrea would prefer to go see Juana. Since Sara is clueless that Juana is no longer there, Jorge avoids giving her the whole story and tells her Juana decided to leave…and that’s it. When Jorge tells Andrea he’ll go get the car, third-wheel Sara wants to tag along.

Back at the shop, Ramón enters Antonio’s office to explain that being in jail made him value being free which has led him to be more cautious and avoid problems. Antonio assures him the he, in no way, is in agreement with Hortensia’s ideas or actions; and furthermore, Hortensia has nothing to do with the shop. Ramón worries about the restraining order, but Antonio explains that even if Hortensia were to show up, the restraining order would not apply because she was the one that initiated the approach. When Antonio reassures Ramón that he doesn’t have to leave, but warns him that he shouldn’t take too long in making a decision, Ramón doesn’t need more time…he decides to stay. As Ramón walks out of Antonio’s office, Fabiola is anxiously waiting in her office and summons him in. When Ramón tells her he is staying, Ramón and Fabiola, both overjoyed, embrace each other tightly, but are interrupted when Antonio calls out to Fabiola.

Luisa arrives to work late, which is quickly noted by Benito. When he sees all the grocery bags, she tells him to help her and piles the bags on him. As he carries the stacked bags, she guides him into Virginia’s apartment and kitchen. After he dumps all the bags on the counter, Luisa tells him to help her put away the groceries, but Benito has no idea where everything goes. Luisa complains that she is too tired because she spent all night at the police station. Benito is perplexed, so Luisa recounts Hortensia’s agreement with Juana after she accused Ramón of hitting her. After Luisa explains that the witch invented the whole thing, Benito thinks that the restraining order is better than being in jail and comments that Juana will never lack for work. Benito then gets closer to Luisa putting his arms around her and asks if she has thought about what they can do after he takes his mother to the airport for her trip. He suggests that they can spend the night at his house, but Luisa looks miffed and wonders if he expects her to tell Dalia and her friends that they are “novios” or that they are getting married. Luisa notes how quickly Benito loses his smile and backs away, so he assures her that once he tells his mother about their relationship, they can shout it to the world. After Benito reminds Luisa that they shouldn’t miss out on this opportunity, Luisa stresses that, as long as he doesn’t talk to his mother, there will be nothing of nothing. She then shoos him away.

Fabiola enters Antonio’s office. With the discussion he had with Ramón and her text asking him not to let Ramón quit, Antonio is curious as to what is going on. Fabiola hides her true feelings once again and tells Antonio that she feels responsible for what happened to Ramón and doesn’t want him to suffer any more consequences. When Antonio points out that Ramón’s reasons for resigning were sensible, Fabiola agrees, but reminds him of her grandmother’s unreasonableness and that he said he would support them. After Antonio warns Fabiola not to bring her personal problems to work, she assumes he’s referring to Francisco and assures him it won’t happen again…Francisco broke up with her. Antonio remarks that she was at the point of marrying him, but Fabiola indicates that the problem with Francisco is not permanent and he’ll get over it. She reiterates that, in regards to Ramón, she doesn’t want to ruin his life. Antonio is satisfied, so Fabiola gleefully gets up and gives him a thankful hug.

Margarita is in her office when Lydia, the secretary, enters. Margarita asks for Porfirio who hasn’t called or shown up, but Lydia hasn’t heard from him either. After Margarita asks for some records and Lydia leaves, Margarita wonders if Porfirio is upset about her interest in someone else. If that’s the way things will be, she doesn’t think she will be able to work with him. Margarita then gets her phone and leaves Antonio a message asking if they will see each other at night and offers to take supper.

Julio calls Hortensia to ask how she is, but she chides him for waiting till noon to call her. After she scolds him for not being attentive to her after what happened yesterday, Hortensia tells him about the agreement with Juana and the she is out of the apartment. Julio thinks she is probably very happy now, but Hortensia is not completely content because Fabiola is unbearable and won’t even greet her, so she wants Julio to intervene. Julio refuses since Hortensia has caused the girls so many problems…she made them lose the money, then she ran off Juana. Now that Julio knows Hortensia is fine, he won’t waste any more of her time, so he hangs up.

At the shop, Antonio is outside when he receives Margarita’s message and wonders if he did the right thing since he knows this is not the time to start a relationship. As he thinks, Ms. Sonia, customer, walks up and asks for her car. Meanwhile, Ramón is on the phone with Juana telling her that he didn’t resign because Antonio explained that the situation with Hortensia does not affect him working at the shop. Juana still worries that they may try to set him up, but Ramón is confident that is not the case. As he hangs up, Antonio approaches with Ms. Sonia and asks Ramón to bring her car.

Andrea, Jorge and Sara arrive to visit Juana and bring her a surprise, her parrot. Juana is overjoyed at seeing Andrea, but is still distressed about everything that has happened. Juana offers them lemonade, but Jorge excuses himself because he just came to drop off Andrea and has to go see a college friend. When Jorge and Andrea look at each other and giggle, Sara wonders what they are laughing about, but Juana tells her not to mind them because they’ve always done that ever since they were children. As Jorge starts to exit, Sara suddenly remembers that she has to leave too and asks Jorge for a ride. Once on their way, Sara offers to buy Jorge coffee, but he turns her down because he’ll take long with his friend. When she wonders why he is so cold with her and always wants to get rid of her…it even seems like he doesn’t like her, Jorge explains that he really doesn’t want a relationship with a woman; for now, he just wants to concentrate on his career. Sara’s eyes widen as she gives a look of consternation and questions who his friend is and why he is going to take so long. She then assures Jorge that he can confide in her…she won’t judge him…if he is hiding something. Jorge smiles inwardly and tells Sara that if he hasn’t explained anything to his parents, why should he explain to her. Sara looks at him questioningly and thinks to herself, “Is he gay?” Meanwhile, Jorge keeps a straight face and thinks to himself, “She must think I’m gay…well, maybe she’ll leave me alone now.”

Antonio is at Diego’s school waiting as Diego comes running to him. Just then, Roxana calls to talk to Diego. After the usual pleasantries, Roxana tells Diego that she has visited some very nice schools that he might like, but Diego likes his school and doesn’t want to move to another one (all the while Antonio is listening and Ms. IWantExcitement could care less if he figures out what she is up to). Diego shares that he is now working at the shop every day, but wants to know when she will return. After she responds, “Soon,” Diego gives the phone to Antonio, but as soon as he says, “Hello,” Roxana hangs up.

Porfirio finally shows up to the office accompanied by Veronica, a sweet young gal. He introduces her and advises Margarita that Veronica is a lawyer who will be working with them. Margarita, who looks quite threatened, wonders how Veronica will be helping them, so Porfirio clarifies that she will help with anything that comes up. When Veronica expresses how happy she is that she will be learning from their experiences, Porfirio informs them that Veronica will be occupying the vacant office.

Ramón and Dalia are having lunch. Ramón thinks Dalia is upset because he didn’t resign, but she is only worried that the witch will show up and have him arrested. As they talk, Fabiola approaches and Ramón invites her to join them. Although Fabiola has never eaten those tacos, she agrees to have one. Dalia rolls her eyes as Fabiola asks for a potato taco. As they eat, Fabiola tells Ramón the reason why she was looking for him…she wants him to teach her how to drive. She explains that they own two cars, but neither she nor Andrea know how to drive. Dalia mocks her for being a rich girl and never having learned how to drive. After Fabiola reiterates that she never learned, Ramón says it’s never too late and gladly agrees to teach her.

Margarita is still at her office giving Veronica the third degree. She wants to know how Veronica met Porfirio and how she came to find him. Veronica calmly explains that she was Porfirio’s student at law school…she admired him as a teacher and regards him a good person, so she contacted him to ask if she could use him as a reference. Instead Porfirio offered her a job; and she was glad to accept. They agreed to have coffee together that morning.

Fabiola worries about how she is going to bring one of the cars to the shop since Ramón can’t get near the building, so Bruno(?) offers to bring it and they agree that he will go for the car the next day. Fabiola then wonders how long it will take to learn how to drive. Ramón estimates it will take 2 weeks, but Fabiola thinks that if Ramón is as good a teacher as he is a mechanic, it’ll probably only take one week. Dalia is annoyed by the whole conversation and stomps off.

Later in the day, Veronica enters Porfirio’s office as he works with Margarita. When she asks if there is anything she can help with, Porfirio tells her there is nothing for now so she can leave. After Veronica leaves, Margarita asks Porfirio why he didn’t let her know about hiring Veronica, but Porfirio didn’t think it necessary. He knows Veronica shows promise and is very talented…she was his best student so he wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have her work there. Margarita sarcastically comments that they will soon see what they can do with all that talent.

As Osvaldo and Susana get ready to go to the casino, Osvaldo worries that they might run into Emilia, Susana’s mother, but Susana doesn’t think her mother will care. Meanwhile, at the casino, Emilia approaches Julio who is there to try his luck with the little money he has.

Juana thanks Andrea for visiting her and tells her she can come over anytime she wants. She adds that Jorge, who is there to pick up Andrea, is welcome also. After Jorge and Andrea take off, Jorge shares the conversation he had with Sara. Sara pointedly asked him if he likes her, so he told her he didn’t want a relationship with a woman; and now she probably thinks he’s gay. They both laugh at the thought.

Margarita arrives at Antonio’s apartment with a kiss but no supper—she didn’t have time to pick anything up. She is very willing to cook up something there, but Antonio tells her he needs to talk to her. Margarita fears that things between them weren’t as clear as she thought, but Antonio pacifies her by telling her it’s not about that. He needs legal advice about getting custody of Diego.

Julio is at the roulette table with Emilia beside him. Julio seems to be winning as Osvaldo and Susana enter the casino. Meanwhile, Jorge and Andrea continue their trip home and come to a stop sign when Jorge sees Osvaldo’s car (uh-oh, the water is starting to warm up for Julio!). After Andrea dials for him and puts the phone on speaker, Jorge tells Osvaldo that he is looking at his car right now. Osvaldo urges Jorge to not lose sight of the car, he is on his way and will call back when he is close. As Osvaldo and Susana start to leave, Emilia looks around and spots Susana. She excuses herself from Julio and goes after Susana, but she is too late; they drive off. In the car, Osvaldo listens as Jorge tells him that he lost the car because a truck got in the way, but Osvaldo wants to meet Jorge where ever he is. Back at the casino, Emilia returns to the roulette table. When Julio asks where she went, she explains that she saw her daughter and her boyfriend who she is skeptical about. Emilia doesn’t know if they left because they saw her or maybe they just changed their mind. When Emilia mentions that her daughter has never had an interest in gambling and assumes it’s the boyfriend’s idea, Julio comments that he wouldn’t want his sons betting involved in gambling (so what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander…actually it’s not good for either).

At Antonio’s apartment, Antonio sits on the couch with Margarita as he explains the conversation he heard between Diego and Roxana and how he thinks she is going to stay in Miami and plans to take Diego. He’d like to kick himself for not knowing she had someone else and the guy probably offered to take her to Miami. Margarita advises him that as long as he doesn’t approve, Roxana cannot take Diego out of the country. She warns him that getting custody of Diego will be complicated…the courts tend to favor the mothers. Antonio wonders if leaving with another man could be used against Roxana, but Margarita clarifies that it wouldn’t because they are no longer living together and in the process of divorcing. She further advises Antonio to consider that Diego will have to testify, so he will be affected… it might even put him at risk of being placed in a governmental institution. Margarita thinks she can add a clause regarding custody to the divorce settlement, but that would alert Roxana to the fact that she cannot take Diego out of the county. Antonio wants Roxana alerted and as he agrees to include the clause, Diego comes out and tells them he is hungry, so (can’t-wait –to-replace-your- mommy) Margarita quickly gets up and goes to make supper.

Ramón and Fabiola arrive at Luisa’s home followed by Dalia. Ramón and Fabiola are hungry and ready to eat. Juana is very happy to see Fabiola, but Dalia isn’t so she skedaddles to her room scowling she isn’t hungry. Fabiola is all giddy and tells Juana about her first experience with the tacos as Juana notices the doting looks between Fabiola and Ramón. In her bedroom, Dalia (who isn’t hungry) calls Luisa and invites her to meet at the taquería. When Luisa suggests they eat there at the house, Dalia refuses because Juana is having supper with “the visitors.” Luisa wonders who ‘the visitors’ are, so Dalia complains that Fabiola came over with Ramón and she does not feel like hearing them gripe about Hortensia. Back in the kitchen, Juana shares her idea about putting up a small stand outside the house and selling tacos. Ramón likes the idea, but Fabiola assures Juana that she and Andrea plan to continue paying her monthly. Juana refuses the offer because she is not one to accept money unless she works for it. Fabiola feels that she lost her job because of Hortensia and asserts that she is going to work on getting her back with them. When Juana asks about Hortensia, Fabiola shares that she saw her in the morning, but ignored her. Then Juana catches Fabiola and Ramón looking at each other, so she asks if Fabiola has fixed things with Francisco, but Fabiola remains silent and avoids looking at Juana.

Osvaldo meets up with Jorge and asks him if he was sure it was his car. Jorge confirms, but says he didn’t get to see the driver. When Susana catches up and greets them, Osvaldo introduces her by name, but Susana emphasizes that she is Osvaldo’s girlfriend. Jorge looks at Osvaldo, but Osvaldo quickly asks Jorge to explain what happened.

Fabiola finally confides that Francisco continues to be difficult; he got upset because she went to the police station with them. As Ramón voices concern that he doesn’t want Fabiola to have problems with Francisco because of him, Dalia darts out of her room and tells them she has to go meet with a friend. When she leaves, Fabiola comments that Dalia seems to be having her own problems too; and Ramón thinks Dalia needs to deal with it just as Francisco does. Juana gives Ramón and Fabiola a “look,” but Ramón changes the subject and asks her to continue telling them about her idea to sell tacos.

When Osvaldo wants to go to the police station to report that they saw the car, Susana suggests that they follow Andrea and Jorge, but Osvaldo tells her to go home; he will go with Jorge and they can reschedule their plans for later. Susana is visibly upset, but agrees to leave. After Susana leaves, Andrea gives Osvaldo a reproachful look, but Osvaldo tells her not to make too much of it, the relationship is really not as formal as it seems.

At Antonio’s apartment, the “family” is having supper when Virginia drops by and wonders (what the heck) Margarita is doing there. After Margarita snugly says she’s having supper with Antonio and Diego, Virginia thinks it just seems strange. She then asks Antonio if he has a drill she can borrow, so he goes to get it. Meanwhile, Diego tells Virginia that his mom is in Miami, but he has a lot of fun with his dad and enjoys Margarita’s quesadillas. Virginia then disparages Margarita for liking children when she never showed any interest in Osvaldo or Jorge, but Margarita rebukes that Virginia never really gave her the opportunity to do so. Just then Antonio comes back with the drill and asks Virginia if she will also need drill bits, but she assures him that this is all she needs and leaves. Margarita wonders how Virginia will be able to use the drill without bits.

Fabiola and Ramón finish eating so Fabiola prepares to leave. Ramon would like to take her home, but he can’t get near building, so Fabiola will take a taxi. Fabiola shares with Juana that she is going to learn how to drive and guess who will teach her… Ramón! Juana doesn’t think it’s a good idea because Ramón might just end up pulling out her hair in frustration, but Fabiola tells her not to worry because Ramón seems to be very patient (although that’s not really why Juana doesn’t think it’s a good idea).

Luisa and Dalia are at the taquería eating and discussing Ramón’s change of plans to resign. When Dalia cries that Ramón will be giving Fabiola driving lessons, Luisa tells her not to cry about it and suggests she has two options: either be angry and lose Ramón completely, or put up with it and remain his friend. When Dalia emphasizes that she doesn’t just like Ramón, Luisa advises her that, from her experiences, when a person loves another, and the other doesn’t reciprocate, there’s nothing that can be done…without love, there is nothing. Dalia complains that she not only has to put up with seeing them together at work, now she has to see them together at her house. Luisa warns her that she is not going to ask Juana to leave just because she doesn’t want to see Fabiola at their house. She then tries to placate Dalia by telling her she shouldn’t worry so much because Fabiola and Ramón have too many differences between them.

As Ramón and Fabiola are outside waiting for her taxi, Fabiola wonders why she can’t be with the people she wants to be with. When Ramón asks if that includes him, Fabiola asks, “What do you think?” They close in for their first kiss, but are interrupted by the taxi driver who has come to pick her up (RATS!!). They tell each other to rest well and hesitate before Fabiola kisses Ramón good-bye…on the cheek. After she leaves, Ramón re-enters the house and knows what is waiting for him—a sermon. Before Juana speaks, Ramón tells her it’s not a big deal and asks her what she expects him to do…when Fabiola is kind, she is SUPER-kind. Juana reminds Ramón that Fabiola is getting married; and she sees that he is getting his hopes up and doesn’t want him to have his heart broken. She also worries that Fabiola will suffer too and dreads the day that she may have to choose sides between the two of them.

As Luisa and Dalia eat, Benito arrives wanting to join them, but Luisa gives him the cold shoulder and tells him they are talking family business. Dalia thinks he can stay, but Luisa scoffs that he has to go tend to his mother. When Benito humbly apologizes for interrupting and leaves, Dalia chides Luisa for being rude. Benito stands at a distance looking disheartened and mumbles that he only puts up with Luisa because he likes her so much…he plans to talk to his mother very soon.

Luisa and Dalia get back home, so Juana offers them supper, but they have already eaten. When Juana wonders what happened with Dalia’s friend, Dalia lies and tells her she didn’t find her friend so she called Luisa to join her. Juana then shares her idea about selling tacos and assures Luisa that she will help pay for any additional costs that may arise because of her stay there. Luisa thinks it’s a great idea. Juana also wants to address receiving visitors there, but Luisa assures her that this is her home. After Juana indicates that she and Ramón still need to find a place of their own, Dalia chimes in that they don’t need to do that…they can stay as long as they want. She then excuses herself for the bad mood she arrived with, but it was only because Bruno, from work, upset her. After Dalia leaves the room, Juana wonders if Luisa bought Dalia’s excuse, but Luisa tells Juan that she probably knows exactly what the real problem is.

Fabiola arrives home where Andrea is waiting for her, anxious to tell Fabiola that she went to see Juana, but Fabiola already knows since she had supper with Juana…and Ramón too! She excitedly shares that she asked Ramón to teach her how to drive, but Andrea is concerned about Francisco. Fabiola then confides that she and Francisco are through, but wants to keep it a secret for now. When Andrea asks about Ramón, Fabiola gets dreamy eyed and confesses that when she is with Ramón, so many (good) things happen to her…and it feels soooo good!

Back at Luisa’s, Juana comments that one cannot rule the heart. Luisa agrees and wishes that Dalia would get Ramón out of her head. Meanwhile, Dalia eavesdrops from her door and rolls her eyes as she hears Luisa’s comment. Juana, in turn, wishes Ramón wouldn’t have hopes with Fabiola because it could turn out badly. Luisa can just imagine what the witch would do if she were to find out her granddaughter was seeing Ramón. Juana confides that if she were to have a choice between Fabiola and Dalia, she would most likely choose Luisa’s daughter. Dalia, who is still eavesdropping, smiles and whispers, “Madrina, I adooore you!”

Good Morning! Nice and cloudy in the RGV this morning with a good chance for rain...keeping my fingers crossed.

So how long will it be before Osvaldo figures out that his big daddy lied about the car being stolen...HA! not long I hope.

Dalia is starting to be a real pain and a grouch. I wonder when and if her devious side will come out...she hasn't done anything underhanded yet...just gripe and pout.

I was SO hoping for that kiss, but it may just have been a little too soon so I'm glad Fabs and Ramon were interrupted...the anticipation will just make that first kiss even better.

More laters...

Oh Man, what they really need in this show to make it unforgettable are a few little sound effects.
Like when Porfirio brought in his future ex girlfriend and introduced her to Marg, they needed that lowering screech with an explosion we hear in old war movies when bombs are landing

Then when Ramon bought Fabi lunch from the roach coach and Thigh Gap looked on, she was like a mare in heat pawing the ground with steam blowing out of her nostrils. We could have used a whinny.

And I did get in one helpful one. When Fabi was waiting for her cab to go home, and she and Ramon were having a sensual chat, did you hear me bark? Woof Woof !

Unless they do it on the table those two will never have kids. That is the eatingest twosome I have ever seen.

And when Ramon came back inside we needed one of RGV's pissed off overprotective Mother hens clucking out a stern warning.

So is virginia a safe cracker now? That is a helluva lot of drill to take down pictures.

I believe Thigh Gap could pass for Horwitch's daughter.

I don't know how Fabi can even talk to Frankefarter any more.

This Irma is pointed toward Fla, and strengthening. So of course the way we do it here in Flor-I-Duh, if it might rain for a week, go buy up all the bottled water at Wal Mart. It is days away, but I think Harvey has everyone a little gunshy.
Thankfully it is hard to flood like in Texas, as everywhere in Florida is close to the coast.

RGV: What were Ozzie and Susie doing at the casino? Are they trying to catch their parents gambling?

It is going to be sweet when Oz tracks down his car, and hopeofully makes a BIG scene thinking the new owner is the thief / robber.

Then to clear his name, the new owner will need to prove to Oz and hopeofully Jorge that he bought it from a dealer, who bought it from Julio. Icing on the cake would be discowering that the insurance was not expired too.

Ramon teaching Fabi to drive should have the whole patio twitching and drooling. Fabi does a girlish crush as well as the real thing.

Kirby, "they needed that lowering screech with an explosion we hear in old war movies when bombs are landing" and " she was like a mare in heat pawing the ground with steam blowing out of her nostrils. We could have used a whinny." What a perfect description...I vote they hire you for sound effects :-)

In the episode before, Ozzie was complaining that he didn't have a car...or the money to buy it, so SusyCue suggested he "invest" his money since her Mommy had told her it's so easy to win at roulette. I almost choked when Julio said he would want his sons to gamble!

I've been tracking Irma too. Praying that it turns her nose up at Floriduh.

Kirby, I had to take a close look at your avatar to see the little critters...are they on the look out for and preparing for Irma? Have you made their life jackets? hehehe

Oh so Oz is going to invest his savings at the casino and then buy another car. He would do better to just ride a flying pig.

I think Julio said he wouldn't want his kids gambling. I know a case where the Grandfather and Son were julio style gamblers and when the grandson was in high school they introduced him to gambling. Three generations of ruined lives.

Kirby, I was typing too fast...I meant to say "I almost choked when Julio said he would NOT want his sons to gamble!" So you got it right :-)

I was typing too fast too and forgot to say Thank You for this superb recap, RGV Chik. If I have to actually LISTEN, I don't get everything. It's a guy thing. :-)

Rgv Chick, this was fantastic.

I adored "(can’t-wait –to-replace-your- mommy) Margarita". Outstanding!

So many wonderful lines but "Margarita wonders how Virginia will be able to use the drill without bits" and "so what’s good for the goose is not good for the gander…actually it’s not good for either)" were especially great.

“At the shop, Antonio is outside when he receives Margarita’s message and wonders if he did the right thing since he knows this is not the time to start a relationship”. Hmmm. I rather think that while he clearly likes her, she will not be “the one”. Underneath the anger and bitterness, I think embers still burn for Roxana. Initially, I did want Antonio and Margarita together. But her eagerness to assist in revealing Roxana’s affair and with my growing fondness for Porfirio, I’ve changed my mind.

I enjoyed Virginia's little visit. Just enough needling to work.

“Margarita, who looks quite threatened, wonders how Veronica will be helping them, so Porfirio clarifies that she will help with anything that comes up”. I loved that Marg was green eyed. Porfirio is quite the sly fox. Loving this.

Dalia doesn't seem to have many soft edges. She is pretty straightforward but seems to have a good heart. I believe though that Ramon would have always had her in the "friend zone", even if Fab were not in the picture. That said, I really felt for her last night. And the worst part is, Fabiola has absolutely no idea how smitten Dalia is. Fab inserting herself into lunch and then at Dalia's home shows she hasn't even considered the possibility Dalia is interested in Ramon, which is obvious probably even to the guy selling the tacos.

I smile as Jose needs to do little as Esmerelda literally lights up the screen on her own. What a beautiful aura she has.

Julio will fall fast and fall hard. "Oh so Oz is going to invest his savings at the casino and then buy another car. He would do better to just ride a flying pig" had me laughing Kirby. Squirrels on a tire - so cute!

RgvChick, thank you! Pure pleasure as always.

Diana

Esmerelda literally lights up the screen on her own. What a beautiful aura she has.

Perky. That's it, among other things. I am as smitten with her as she is with Ramon.

You're very welcome, Kirby and Diana.

Diana, I sooo missed your commentary, you always add so much insight to the character's true personalities and intentions (or non-intentions).

Do you really think Fabiola is clueless about Dalia's feelings? Or is Fabiola just totally disregarding Dalia's feelings and doing things to show her up?

CHickie, Thank you for the detailed and snappy recap. I was surfing in and out, so I missed some things.

I agree that something was definitely missing around here without Diana's thoughtful and thought-provoking comments. So glad that you are back, Diana.

Fab is perky and pretty, but I would like to see her with a different hairstyle.

Marg did look a little apprehensive, or perhaps jealous when Por introduced her to the new girl .

It seems as though even Julio has had it with Horrid.

What is it that draws people together? What makes a person attracted to another person? No matter how much Marg desires Ant and Dalia wants Ramon, we know that those couples are not meant to be.

I have a funny feeling that Sofia is going to come back on the scene and put Ramon in danger.

Fab's a pretty sharp little gal, she knows what is going on with Thigh Gap. In her defense, while she was engaged to Frankenfarter, Dalia had every opportunity, and was not able to close the deal, so Fabi probably feels like she is doing nothing wrong. Thigh Gap is the one with a problem, and Fabi appears to be bright enough to not let her make it Fabi's problem.

"I am as smitten with her as she is with Ramon". I can't say I blame you Kirby. How are you faring? We are all concerned about you.

Rgv Chick, I am trying to remember the earlier scenes with Fab and Dalia. I believe Dalia was clearly resentful at Fab's presence from the start, heightened when Dalia started seeing Fab's connection with Ramon. My honest opinion is that I just don't think Dalia is on Fab's radar, other than being an employee. I don't think she "sees" Dalia as competition because she doesn't really "see" her. I won't quite call it selfish, but she doesn't appear to be too concerned with others outside the little "family circle" which includes Juana and of course Ramon.

Being rather invisible can be one of the greatest sleights of all...

Susanlynn, I would like to see Fab with another hairstyle as well.

I completely agree that Sofia is going to burst on the scene again and yes, you are right, likely put Ramon in a great deal of danger. I do hope Sofia is able to explain why she did what she did to Ramon, but even if that occurs, the damage was done.

Diana

Kirby, our comments crossed.

So, you think Fab is well aware...Well, you could certainly be right. I so seldom am!!

I guess I like to believe the best - especially as Fab is the lead. While Dalia certainly isn't always sweetness and light, I felt badly for her as she listened to Juana and her mother's conversation where Juana said she preferred her to Fab for Ramon.

Diana

Alfredo this was lovely and mild. Not
Much excitement is what I mean. You do
Good with what you get.

I think Ms Margie is abit jealous, and
Why? "I just wanna be friends", wants to have friends with benefits sex with
Antonio. She don't ask much does she?
Just an argasm every now and then. Ok
Changing the subject. Without knowin it jauana & lu gave dalia a nasty idea

"What a wonderful father he is. Don't you wish fathers day would come sooner?" was great. I enjoyed every word.

"Without knowin it jauana & lu gave dalia a nasty idea To call Ol stiff britches to the shop". Wow. That didn't occur to me! And here I was feeling sorry for her. I really hope she won't stoop to that level but we will see tonight...

Diana

Oh, and today's excellent recap was brought to us courtesy of Rgv Chick.

Diana

Re Harvey's cousin Irma: These people here have already emptied the WalMarts, Sam's and Costco in this whole state. Without taking anything away from the threat of a major hurricane, they are certainly good business and you can tell. I have seen it over and over and over. I have 150 gallons of fuel in the boat, two generators, enough batteries to convert a garbage truck to electric, so I will be alright.

It is going to rain for four days, I need to go buy water?

RGV I think Fabi is mildly aware of Thigh Gap's thing for Ramon, but just not real concerned about it.

Kirby..glad that you are prepared. Were you a boy scout?

Overcast and humid here with a severe thunderstorm alert until 9, p.m.

Sue, no engineer, better. I live my life, it seems, like preparing for a hurricane.

Diana she can't fabi cuz shes the one in her way. Some women can be really real Bitchy when they're fighting for a man.

Yeah Kirby you better go get the h2o.
We're already gettin talks from the Mayer up here in the north. Those path models They're showing on the weather about the paths ms irma could take got her Comin Right at us. We're right on the edge of the coast of florida. They don't know for Sure but better safe than sorry. Those squirrels are just too cute Kirby. I hope they find a place to hide before the storm. If it
Comes. I think Flo will get hit,if not
Right on, a lot of rain. Maybe. Well
Anyways irma is probably a lot nicer than helltensia. Somebody should tell
Her she's won a trip to miami, send her
There and don't tell her about Ms irma
And see what happens when they meet.
Irma wins hands down. Teehee!

Thank you Ms Rvg Chick!

Diana she can't stand fabi"is what was suppose to say.

Glad you are set Kirby.

Just heard Irma is the most dangerous storm ever tracked in the Atlantic.

Wasn't Harvey enough?

Diana

Kirby. NiNa and Amotelenovelas, and anyone else from Floriduh (Alfredo is from Florida too, right?) my prayers are with all of you. Hope for the best, plan for the worst is a favorite motto, so take care...evacuate if you must.

Kirby..i have taught lots of engineers , and they usually do know how to be prepared. I am.sending out good vibrations to you))))). Let us know how you are doing. Lots of rain here right now. Can't imagine what it is like preparing for a hurricane.

Sending out good vibrations to all those in Irma's path.

I am about to go on vacation so will be away for a while, but I wanted to send my best wishes to Kirby, Nina, and everyone else in Irma's path.

Diana, I am glad you are well.

I do miss you guys and wish I had time to keep up. After vacation, I will try to check in more often!

Hey, dunno if anyone has mentioned this yet, but on Sunday Anita posted some notes from Stevey about Rosy Ocampo's reign of terror at Televisa.

http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2017/09/upcoming-telenovelas-stevey-weighs-in.html?_sm_au_=iMVvF715VQsJjjWq

The list of talented performers that she has fired or demoted will absolutely stun you.

Also, she likes Juan Osorio and doesn't like Carla Estrada. That seriously damages my opinion of her (which has already taken a severe beating).

I love Carla Estrada and Fernando Colunga , so Rosy and I are already at odds. Also, I did not appreciate all the rosygrams on life in the USA that she sprinkled through Doble Vida. I am worried about the direction that she is taking the telenovelas. Can one person singlehandedly kill a whole genre?

Hi, Julie, have a great vacation.

Julie, you are missed.

Have a wonderful vacation.

I think Susanlynn asked the right question "Can one person singlehandedly kill a whole genre"?

Diana

Looks Like Ramon won't be on due to the DACA developments.

Diana

I thought DACA would only be on Telemundo....argghhh!!

Susanlynn: "Can one person singlehandedly kill a whole genre"?

As Spock once said, "For everything, there is a first time." I don't know if anyone has singlehandedly killed a whole genre before, but there's no reason Rosy can't be the first. I swear it looks as though she's trying to. Not all trailblazing is heroic.

It is a shame, because I don't think she was always like this. Power has gone to her head. How this can possibly turn out well?

I'm absolutely sure that some of those contracts were costing Televisa way more than they were worth. But when you become notorious for reneging on legitimate deals, no one who has a choice will ever trust you again. Even in a business where people are accustomed to getting screwed, it's worth something to them to be able to walk into a situation thinking there's a chance that they might not be. Rosy just flipped that expectation at Televisa.

(OT for people who don't know: Rosy Ocampo produced La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo and we had a lot of "feelings" about the way certain things were portrayed. Her recent behavior as Grand High Poobah of Creatively Alienating Your Talent at Televisa spells nothing but trouble.)

Sandie's Recap was up for our (probably never to be seen) DACA episode, but disappeared. I assume that means that Looney Vision / Turdvisa can be counted on to show it tonight rather than just skip it altogether. I'm not holding my breath.

And not to be cruel, but before we get apoplectic over some actors being put out to pasture, it is about the same as a pro football or baseball player complaining that as he/she is no longer making forty seven million dollars a year he will starve. Um...you may have to let one of the houses in Beverly Hills go and get a smaller yacht and an everyday girlfriend. I'm not crying over this one. Especially when ACTORS make no tangible improvements to humanity. They don't cure diseases, design newer computers, or develop a boll weevil resistant cotton plant. I believe that line of work traces it's roots back to court jester?

ITA kirby. They will survive.Maybe hopefully programming won't be interfeared with tonite.Unless lady irma Decimate the islands. Pray that dont happen patio.
Be safe and well kirby.

Thanks NiNa. Surely they will not deprive us two nights in a row..I an watching to see Ms. Bean kiss Jorge and see what he does.

Oh my birds said: YIKES did you see TV? Let's get OUT 'A HERE.

Sam's is out of water and gas, but their fresh Strawberries are out of this world. :-)

Nina and Kirby, glad to hear from you all...I was starting to get worried. Please keep in touch somehow and whenever you can so we know you're ok.

Thought and prayers...be safe...

RGV Thanks. It is beginning to look better for me and NiNa. Alfredo, maybe not out of the woods yet according to latest guesses. NiNa, you are on the West side up near the panhandle aren't you? AAA is around Miami on the bad side of the state, I believe, from his email address.

Kirby and Nina, I was Happy to see your comments. I have been watching the weather reports , and you have been in my thoughts. Stay safe. Rainy and dreary here all day...a good way to feel like I am returning to Scotland And Outlander on Sunday. Squeeee. .Susanlynn, happily skipping to detention hall
