"THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE"
Ay yi yi, in this episode Marina continues to show that she's inherited Don Luis' insane pride and stubbornness. And Beto has plenty of it too. So they both declare they're going to rip each other out of their respective hearts. We know this won't happen. But in the meantime, it's going to be a mess. Here's how things went:
We start with Vanessa learning that the marriage isn't legal and wondering if Beto is going to go on playing "happy families" with Marina anyway.
Marina, on the other hand, is lamenting to Damiana that she doesn't know why she should remain married to a man who doesn't trust her. (who needs DNA when you've got AMOR)
Susana is trying to find a lost contact on her phone...I assume it's the nefarious Zacarias.
Lino arrives in town, bumps into a young girl named Ana and she's instantly smitten (can't blame her, the man is waking up my hormones bit by bit)
Beto waits by a fountain to work things out with Marina. But she arrives late because Nico came late to work. Beto leaves to look for her at the old room. But they've moved out! With no forwarding address! Oh noes!
Doc Horrible is berating an office worker, trying to locate Baldomero in the big city. He's totally defeated by bureaucracy. A sweet moment! Loved the guy just repeating, "Sorry, can't help. Gotta fill out this request."
Meanwhile Marina and Beto are both fulminating. She laments "that he says he loves me but his actions speak otherwise". He stomps around and declares that "this marriage is over!" Don't you want to knock their two heads together? I sure do.
"THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE"
More stubbornness. This time on the part of Vanessa. Lino encounters her (he's in town to leave his ranching job for...hopefully... a career in singing)and the usual passionate kisses ensue. But Vanessa flounces out, determined to be a good daughter and land the well-heeled Beto for Mom's sake.
Lino then goes into the office to say he's stepping out of his job doing organic farming because the harvest is ready and it's going to be stupendous. No need for him to stay any longer. Don Luis is dismissive and says, I hope you're not expecting any extra money as a sendoff boy. You leave, you lose kid.
Prudencia tries to change his mind, reminding Don Luis that his grandfather gave him everything. Don Luis reminds her that she's never worked either. "Nope, I married you so I didn't have to" she quips. "But since we've both been so lucky, why not be generous with others?" Luis says she's been hanging around with "gentuza" so long, she's getting weird ideas.
JudyB--Your debut on Mirada was classic. When I saw it was the Mirada recap, I had to stop and read it even though I haven't seen the episode yet. Can't wait to see it now, catching Lino in an embrace (even if it isn't with either one of us). Thank you.
Pru's hanging around "gentuza" has merely made her aware of social injustices and income inequalities. That, of course, isn't weird.
Ok, off to watch the show.
"THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE"
More posturing on Beto's part. " No point insisting on a reconciliation" he tells his buddy Erick. Don Luis, interestingly enough, seems somewhat impressed by Marina's disinterest in any inheritance or being named as an Ocaranza. "She's even more prideful than I" he muses.
Vanessa starts getting excited about the possibility of getting back with Beto, and Luis slaps this down. "It's going to take him a long time to forget her" he reminds her.
In the meantime, Marina calls Prudencia, explains why they moved (no more climbing stairs, they're on the ground floor) but swears her to secrecy. She doesn't want Don Luis or Beto to know anything! Prudencia promises that this time she'll keep her mouth shut.
Lino in the meantime arrives with guitar and big illusions. He informs a snippy secretary that he's a great singer and wants to make a record. She tells him "in your dreams kid!" This city is full of great singers. You need money. You need an agent. And you need to get out of my face 'cause I'm busy. Scram!"
Oooh, there was more? Sorry to have intruded on the sequencing, but delighted to have more to read.
"THE APPLE DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE"
Chucha slithers into the office and continues to spread venom. She suggest that maybe Marina isn't interested in saving the marriage because a good-looking gal like her can always find a man to take care of her. Angustias calls her out on the insinuation.
Don Luis has a tender father-son moment with Beto in the hospital and they both agree that Marina inherited Dad's genes for being "terca y orgullosa" big-time. Beto says he'll remain an Ocaranza but wants to pay for his own apartment and live like an adult. Dad approves.
Marina seems to have some sort of cramping, painful episode at the tienda but won't let anyone call Damiana.
Lino drags himself back to the neighborhood and Ana asks him why he's so downhearted. He tells her he's a singer and he needs to find work. She continues to look all fluttery and dazzled.
Angustias is trying to wheedle Vanessa into saying that she still loves Lino when Susana barges in. "El Diablo" sez Angustias, as Susana boots her out of the room like an animal. "I'm a 'sirvienta', not a 'perro'(dog) Señora" replies Angustias and whisks out with her dignity intact.
Marina is thinking about Doc Horrible and hoping that he never looks for her (fat chance!)
Zacarias is seen leaving the bank, saying "Here's my pay and here's my commission". Guess he's skimming off the top.
Ooopsie...forgot a scene in Part II where the doctor is saying "Every second without Marina is torture" and Ramona wisely points out that this isn't love...it's obsession. He ignores her naturally.
Back to Part IV.
Damiana phones Margarito. He grouses about having to put up with Zacarias and then she shares her worries about Doc Isauro (Doc Mask, Doc Horrible) eventually finding them in the city. He suggests Marina talk to Yola who knows more. Yola didn't want to worry Marina, but yeah, the doc is doing everything he can to locate her.
Back at the hospital, Erick and Vanessa are doing buddy bonding and trying to convince Beto to go to a nightclub after dinner. He finally agrees.
Marina is trying to forget Beto as well. She is soooo disillusioned!!!
VOCABULARY
"naranjas y limas". Literally oranges and limes. But "naranjas" is also slang for "nada", nothing, and that's what Don Luis is offering Lino as compensation when he leaves the ranch.
"triques" junk, stuff What the cleaning lady says when Beto arrives at empty room and there's no forwarding address. Nope, says the lady, people just take their stuff (triques) and leave
poner como camote -to insult verbally. That's what happened to Lino when he came to the city to find a singing career...le puso como camote.
Thank you JudyB for today's great recap and the vocabulary lesson!
"So they both declare they're going to rip each other out of their respective hearts" has me visualizing and humming Mitzi Gaynor singing "I'm gonna wash that man right of my hair."
And our plot just trundles on. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Some days you just have to love beaurocracy. Take that, Doc BSC!
Lino thinking he can just walk into a recording office and get a contract is a hoot. Riiiight. "Well, there's thirteen hundred and fifty two guitar pickers in Nashville..... and Mexico City...". Maybe he can get on Mexican Idol! Or Mexico's Got Talent! Or La Voz!
JudyB, Wow! What a treat you gave us! And thank you for lightening my load and brightening my day!!
"Lino arrives in town, bumps into a young girl named Ana and she's instantly smitten (can't blame her, the man is waking up my hormones bit by bit)" Had me laughing out loud. Lino does get those hormones jumpin!
Your "Vocabulary" is great! I usually notice the unfamiliar words but never have time to look them up so a BIG thank you for that!
I really enjoy Doc Horrible getting slammed by so many walls. I just hope he doesn't find a hole in one of those walls.
Ep 33: Part 1 The Web of Lies Gets Bigger
Teo asks Flor to marry him and she says…YES!! Aurelio and Xochitl clap and cheer, but Marga and Rose sit frozen. When Teo asks what Marga thinks, she replies that she doesn’t want to say much since Flor has already made a mistake once. Rose congratulates them for having the courage to be so selfish since their mother is so ill.
Val is still with Diego as Elsa comes in to kiss him good-bye since she has to go work. She tells him she will have to work double duty and the neighbor will take him to school in the morning. As she is leaving, Diego asks her what his father worked as, so she responds that his father was a lover of life…that was his profession. Diego goes to bed as Val tells him that he wishes Diego could hear him so that he could teach him many things about life…but he has to go and promises to return.
Flor doesn’t understand Rose’s attitude since they have just been told that Marga is much better than they thought. They all argue at the same time until Xochitl yells and tells them that they are starting to sound like her mother and father. Marga goes to her bedroom and Rose leaves to cry her eyes out.
Nestor tells Chile that a complaint has been filed against him for assaulting Marga, plus he has a restraining order. He can’t get close to or communicate with Marga in any way.
Rose is in her bedroom wanting to send a text message to Teo as Val watches her, but she throws herself on the bed instead.
Aure tries to cheer up Flor and Teo. As Val is listening, Aure suggests a toast to their happiness and hopes that nothing will separate them. Val gets Teo’s phone and sends Rose a message telling her not to worry…he can explain everything.
On his way out, Teo apologizes to Flor; he thought things would turn out differently with the good news and the proposal. Flor smiles and tells him not to worry; she also recognized his mother’s ring since she would admire it as a child. She thanks him and knows how much the ring means to him.
Lola is performing at the casino as the men ogle and cheer. Sami watches on as one of the girls encourages her by telling her that the audience will cheer her even more. Sami gets on stage and the audience is not as pleased as she expected.
Chile is at his funeral home praying to St. Jude…this is the first time he prays and asks that St. Jude help Marga be cured of her illness and that she not die. Val listens from the adjacent room and wonders if he should tell Chile the truth…but then walks away saying that Chile doesn’t deserve this.
Ep 33: Part 2 The Web of Lies Gets Bigger
Teo goes home with his tail between his legs and tells Oscar that things didn’t go quite as he planned. Oscar assumes that it was Rose who didn’t take the proposal well, but Teo explains that it was Marga’s reaction which he doesn’t understand; though he understands that Marga is upset since he didn’t ask for more extensive tests for her. Oscar assures Teo that he is one of the best doctors; he’s not only saying it as a father since he knows that the entire town would agree with him. When Teo shares that the wedding will be in four months, Oscar thinks that’s the perfect amount of time to woo Flor…but Val, who has been listening, thinks it’s the perfect amount of time he needs to stop the wedding.
Val goes to visit Diego who is asleep. Val promises Diego a better life; he doesn’t know how he will do it, but he promises to always take care of Diego.
Tito goes into Itza’s salon where Lola has been sleeping and tells her to get up because his mother will catch her there. He lies down beside her to plead with her and as he is over her trying to get her up, Itza comes in yelling and asks what is going on.
Rose gets another message from Teo’s phone asking for help in ending his relationship with Flor. It was Flor’s idea to set a wedding date and hopes that Rose will help him stop Flor. Rose kisses her phone and promises to help Teo.
Val talks to Carlota who chides him for making life impossible for Flor and Chile. Val thinks that he has no choice, but when Carlota mentions Diego, she advises him that he still has a chance to repent.
Itza scolds Tito and reminds him that she had warned him several times about doing something like this. She chides him for disrespecting her workplace. Tito insists that what Itza thinks was happening was not actually happening. When he explains that Lola has no where to stay, Itza calms down and tells Lola that if it’s true that she has nowhere to stay, she can stay inside the house; Tito will be the one to sleep in the salon.
Mariana tells Flor that Aure gave her no choice but to contact an attorney; she will do everything she can to recuperate her daughter.
Later, Itza talks to Lola about working at the casino. Lola assures her that she is only working there until she saves enough money to go to the city.
Aure goes to see Sami who is going out of town. She needs someone to take charge of the casino while she is gone. She wants him to take charge; the salary will increase and when she returns, he can be her right-hand man. Aure explains that he is getting a divorce and needs a decent job because he will be seeking custody of his daughter. Sami suggests that he keep his ‘decent’ job and he can come work at the casino at night. She then adds that she can also help him find a good attorney to help him get custody of his daughter.
Ep 33: Part 3 The Web of Lies Gets Bigger
Rose and Jovita conspire against Flor. Jovita suggests that Rose tell Teo the truth about Marga’s (non) illness so that Teo can help her make it sound more credible. Rose would never ask Teo to lie about something like that because it would go against his medical ethics. Rose shares about Teo’s proposal which seemed to be vey sincere, but she knows that Teo really doesn’t want to get married and Flor is pressuring him into it. After Jovita suggests that Rose use her mother’s illness to the max, Rose gets a not-so-bright idea.
Mariana asks Flor to testify for her, but Flor doesn’t feel comfortable with it. When Flor suggests that Mariana and Aure work things out on their own, Mariana explains that they’ve already tried, but Aure will not agree to let her have Xochitl. Mariana will fight for her daughter no matter who she has to go up against. Just then, Mariana gets a call from the casino.
Marga is putting on makeup when Rose tells her to stop; she needs to look sick. Marga tries to talk some sense into Rose, but it falls on deaf ears. Marga wonders what Rose is planning now.
Aure tells Chile about his new job at the casino. Chile thinks that they need to take advantage of his new role and make a little more money, but Aure shies away from the idea since he has to be on his best behavior now that he wants custody of his daughter.
Sami is in her office and calls in her trusted dancer who used to be Paris’s BFF. Before Sami starts, she makes Dancer promise not to repeat a word of what she is about to tell her. After Dancer promises, Sami confides that Dancer will be her accomplice and caretaker. Lately Sami has had much pain and a fever; so she needs to go get examined. To everyone else, the trip is a vacation; only they will know the real reason for the trip.
Rose calls her friend Susy who helped her before. When Susy refuses to help her, Rose reminds Susy that six years ago, Rose helped Susy falsify some medical records to indicate that her husband was not sterile…and now Susy has two kids with one on the way. Susy can’t believe Rose would be capable of revealing her secret, but Rose dares her to test her.
At the church, Marga is restoring a painting as she thinks about Chile and their tender moments. Then she thinks about Rose catching them…twice. She starts to paint aggressive strokes on the painting as Rose calls her and summons her home.
Sami announces to the employees that she is going on a trip for a few days…and that Aure will be in charge. Mariana listens and worries that Aure will now be getting paid more and will afford a better attorney than she can get. Alone in the office, Octi chides Sami for leaving Aure in charge instead of him.
Flor tries to talk Aure into settling his differences with Mariana without attorneys. Each one gets a call from Rose summoning them home.
At Marga’s home, Val hopes things go as planned for Rose. When everyone arrives, Rose drops her little bomb as she fake cries—Marga needs a kidney transplant!
Have I gone to heaven? A glorious recap from Judy!! Thrilled beyond belief.
Now I know nothing about the story but I do recognize sensational writing when I see it.
"I assume it's the nefarious Zacarias"; "She continues to look all fluttery and dazzled" and "Every second without Marina is torture" and Ramona wisely points out that this isn't love...it's obsession. He ignores her naturally" were wonderful.
And the vocabulary was well...I'm at a loss. "naranjas y limas". Literally oranges and limes. But "naranjas" is also slang for "nada", nothing, and that's what Don Luis is offering Lino as compensation when he leaves the ranch". Happy sigh.
You are back without missing a beat. Proof positive that greatness always shines. And brightly.
Thank you Judy. A true treat. I have to say Mirada and its loyal patio has struck gold.
Diana
JudyB! Thank you for this great recap and vocabulary lesson.
This TN loves to present each character with alternative love interests. Now Lino has Ana so very taken with him, they are the newest possibilities. I mentioned before that our lovely Marina might just be wooed by Doc Bazán if she is no longer committed to Beto, Damiana has a choice of at least two, etc., etc. I admit to being curious if they will all wind up with the person they were "supposed" to match up with. Keeps it a bit interesting.
Don Louse is a big guy and has a nasty habit of putting his arm around someone's neck and talking down to the person in a menacing way. Somebody should break that arm for him. Just sayin'. He's as bad as Doc Mask who assaults anybody he wants some answers from.
andy
Fantastic title Rgv Chick.
I just loved the recap. You made sweet nectar out of the rather sour contents of this episode.
“Val listens from the adjacent room and wonders if he should tell Chile the truth…but then walks away saying that Chile doesn’t deserve this”. How sad! Also, treasonous if you ask me. Chile was Val’s loyal comrade and brother. Val is losing his charm for me. “Carlota mentions Diego, she advises him that he still has a chance to repent” must mean there is hope. A child and/or divine intervention seem to be his only hope.
“Mariana asks Flor to testify for her, but Flor doesn’t feel comfortable with it”. I’m not comfortable with her answer. I know she loves her brother but Mariana should have custody and Aure visitation rights as he is the one who is primarily responsible for the failure of the marriage.
“Marga goes to her bedroom and Rose leaves to cry her eyes out”. So sad. Not! Blackmailing and “Marga needs a kidney transplant” Color her crazy!
The one bright spot is Teo who is not allowing anything or anyone to dampen his ardor for Flor. We should all be as fortunate to have a Teo in our lives.
And we are lucky to have you in our lives Rgv Chick! thank you, thank you!

Jackass sr & jackass Jr seem to be on
The same page. You'd think he had Don louse's DNA. Maybe its best they go their seperate ways. 2 stronge willed
People are very combustible.
Marina is probly in labor and the pains could be hours apart, and that was the first one. Well, aleast she got her mothers on her side, cuz her bio
Dad and hubby/bro(I know thats weird)
Is stupid. Lawdy help that baby.
Will someone please press upon marina
To get rid of those horrible dusty big
Ugly desert boots. They remind me of "pigpen" on Charlie brown. No matter where she goes they look like she's walked through a dust storm.
Wouldnt it be great if the maska-nater
Fell in a whole? A really really deep
One? With no bottom? He will eventually
Find her. I'm hating that day. He is such a pain In the ass.
What? lino thought he could just walk into a recording studio and start up a
Singing career? He needs help. Money help. Don louse is a piece of crap. yall think he's gonna do what pru said
About sharing with the underprivileged
? See, that's the thing, they are in his twisted small mind under him. Why
Should be have to stoop to help them?
Jackass.
Ok enough for now. Thank you JudyB. I
And the patio appreciate yours and the
Other recappers talents. You guys are
Golden in my book.
Andy, interesting theory about the dual couples. I like that the writers always provide an alternative for our struggling characters. Would that real life were like that! And occasionally (Querida Enemiga I'm looking at you) the heroine does end up with somebody else. Marina and Beto aren't looking too end game at the moment are they?
Steve, Evil "seems" to be winning at the moment. Fortunately the writers will give us a happy ending eventually. Although occasionally an innocent character does get sacrificed.
Nina, you're cracking me up with the "Maska-Nater". I think you need to donate your brain to science. You come up with some amazing lines.
And as you may suspect, all we recappers consider you commenters "golden". There would be no point in writing these resumens if it weren't for you.
Although interestingly Prudencia no longer seems to shrink into herself when he comes close. That's another dynamic to watch evolve.
Nina, I love "hubby/bro." I like Mari's boots (you and I won't have to arm wrestle for them lol) and wish I had them to wear with jeans in winter. My niece has a pair like them, she wears around her horses. I like horses, so probs why my brain likes Marina's.
That extra-long riding crop of Don L's makes me nervous. He might go postal and use it one day on a character we like. 😳
Grandma Day Camp last day was yesterday. I will hunker down for a binge watch of Mirada recordings this afternoon. 🖥👀
Grandma Day Camp. I love it Doris. I've been doing a bit of that. And had forgotten how exhausting little ones are. But when our 19-month-old has his parents call so he can tell us "Night night" before he goes to bed, oh my...I just melt.
Thank you, Diana!
I really think Rose is going crazy. What really surprised me was that she confided EVERYTHING to Jovita, one of the town's worst gossips and who I refer to as one of the HTT ladies. I guess she isn't that "holy" after all!
My heart still goes out to Chile while it's closing for Val who is becoming just as bad (or worse) as Rose.
So Sami has some type of ailment...hmmm where is that going?
Yes Rgv Chick, it's sad to think of Val on Rose's (lower) level, isn't it??
From what you described, it does seem Sami has something life altering. Not seeing this, it appears she is not particularly likeable but am not sure.
Ahhh Chile. You deserve so much better. I agree that Lola would be good for him but we will have to see.
Diana
THERE ARE LIES, LIES AND DAMNED LIES Part I
Well, if not lies, there's some major fibbing going on in this one. And the usual contrasts between the hard-scrabble lives of the poor folks and the giddy, luxurious lives of the rich. And then there's Susana and Vanessa who are teetering between the two. Here's how things went today.
Lino is out on the street looking for work anywhere he can get it. He's turned down by an old fella selling ornamental plants on the street, because supposedly Lino doesn't have enough knowledge, as an organic rancher, to know how to care for plants. A bit thin that excuse but whatever.
In the meantime Vanessa, Beto, Erick and some fresa friend whose name I forget are jumpy jumpy, happy happy, huggy huggy as they dance in the nightclub. And shoutout to Andy, be sure and catch Vanessa shaking her fabulous hair as she trips the light fantastic.
In case we don't appreciate the contrast, in the next scene poor Lino is mugged by not one but several bad guys who punch him out and take his money.
Elsewhere in Poorville, Marina is worried about Doc Mask finding them but Damiana assures her that in this great big city, there's no way he could. (famous last words). And we're treated to a view of the doc without his mask, fondling Marina's cane and musing "Why can't I make you mine?" [don't eat while watching this episode]
Lino hobbles home bloody but unbowed. Ana rushes downstairs to offer him a cup of healing tea and a pain reliever. She appears to have no pants on but that can't be right. Maybe flesh-colored tights? Later, Lino recovers enough to talk to Yola and then Magarito on the phone and spin a load of BS about how job opportunities are abundant, he's just trying to decide which tempting offer to accept, and university studies and a career in singing loom on the horizon. Riiiiiiight.
Dad encourages him to follow his dreams and evidently his main dream is to show Vanessa that he can become a success and support her like the rich girl she pretends to be.
Back at the casa grande, Susana is stalking Don Luis as usual, rhapsodizing about how much fun the kids had last night and clearly this little episode with the blind girl was just lust not love. Before you know it, Beto and Vane will be on the Marriage Track again.
But Vane is at the magic fountain where all Valle de Bravo folks converge, locked in a series of passionate kisses with Lino, while his voice sings their love song in the background.
Lino on the other hand has just been mugged. So goes life in the big city.
THERE ARE LIES, LIES AND DAMNED LIES Part II
Doc has been struggling with Mexican bureaucracy all this time, desperate enough now to offer a bribe for the information on Baldomero. To no avail. Ramona is listening in and looks worried.
At the tienda, Nicanor is telling Damiana how Marina was experiencing sharp pains the other day and should probably see a doctor. Damiana at first dismisses it since she's an experienced midwife, but Baldomero and Toribio join in with advice and Baldomero even offers to pay for the visit. After all, he's going to be the step-grandfather! Smiles all around.
Next scene is with Prudencia and Angustias who finally...FINALLY!...convince Marina and Damiana that the baby will need a few things besides plenty of love, some knitted outfits and breast-feeding. A big shopping spree ensues with bassinets, cribs, cute outfits and all the baby paraphernalia that make the sleep deprivation and stretch marks worth it. Prudencia also returns the lovely aquamarine earrings to Marina to wear. Marina is looking radiant but so is Prudencia. Incipient grandmotherhood clearly agrees with her.
Another meeting with Vanessa and Lino. She quizzing him about finding work. He lying that he has indeed found a great paying job. Er...far from here so she can't go take a look but not to worry! We'll be fine. She starts to leave without a kiss but he calls her back...and well, you know...the usual. And with him belting out the love theme.
More lies, this time from Zacharias who's trying to weasel more money out of Don Luis. Not an easy task! He doesn't fall for the "had to repair a fence, bought wood from buddy, used my own money etc." crap and demands a receipt for any extra costs. Luis is tight with a dime, but in this case, he should be.
THERE ARE LIES, LIES AND DAMNED LIES Part III
Toribio is enjoying a "gelatino" with Marina but confesses that he told Doc Mask that Marina was pregnant. She's very upset. So he's very upset. "Tonto, tonto, tonto, tonto!" So she forgives him. But worries now that the Doc will do all in his power to find her. And she's right.
Susana is still grilling Vanessa about progress with Beto, reminding her that she sold their apartment to pay off their debts. Therefore the only way forward is re-kindled romance and marriage.
Lino is playing the guitar and singing. Smitten Ana tells him she'd pay to hear him warble and so would other folks. He should play and sing on the street and pass the hat.
As Marina worries about a lurking Doc Mask, she vows that she doesn't need Beto or anybody else thank you! This baby is HERS and nobody else's. The good Doc meanwhile is trying to talk Zack into telling him where the Ocaranzas are living--figuring that he can find Marina that way. Zack tells him don Luis wants nothing to do with him. Foiled again!
Another humble folks, high-falutin' folks scene. Marina, Damiana, Toribio and Baldomero eat tostadas in the street. Beto, Vanessa, Erick and fresa friend dine more regally. And crafty Doc Mask finally locates Baldomero through a computer search. Ugh!
THERE ARE LIES, LIES AND DAMNED LIES Part IV
But who sez humble folks can't have romance and fun? Baldomero buys two gardenia corsages, one for Marina, one for Damiana. And suddenly Marina hears Lino's voice! Yep, he's at the magic fountain wowing the crowd with his song styling. Hugs all around. Verry looooong hug of Marina I must say. And no problem. Marina even invites him to feel the little fella kicking around in her belly. They talk about pooling their resources and all living together in the big city, while Lino hopes to finish his studies.
But a shadow falls. Doc Mask now knows where Baldomero works and vows to follow him until he inadvertently leads him to Marina. Oh noes.
More shadows. Vane pretends in front of fresa friend that she and Beto still have marriage plans and Beto goes along with it. After all, he owes her for being so understanding and supportive through all this. And Vanessa assures him that she will gradually reveal the truth of their "just friends" relationship in time.
THERE ARE LIES, LIES AND DAMNED LIES Part V
Happy folks eating tostadas. Lino singing again to an appreciative crowd. Susana still stalking don Luis, and bad-mouthing Prudencia for being "insuportable" after Pru declined to speculate and wave the pom-poms about Vane and Beto getting back on track as a couple.
Beto and his gang have left the restaurant and are discussing what type of film to see when Lo! Behold! he too hears Lino's voice and rushes over to embrace his childhood friend. Dragging Vanessa along, naturally. Beto is all warmth and friendship and wants to leave a big wad of cash with Lino, which the latter declines.
Vanessa, on the other hand, is looking like the Ice Maiden, clearly thinking "So THIS is the great-paying job you told me about!?" She offers a glacial "adios" and stalks off with Beto.
Lino watches them go. Heartbroken.
And there we end.
Try not to get too depressed over the weekend. I'm sure our passionate lovers will work it out. Eventually.
VOCABULARY
Me pasé de innocente - Lino, explaining that his naivete about the dangers of the big city led him to get mugged
Pélele! - Beat it! Scram! What the thugs shouted as they ran off
no te mandó a freir ésparragos - didn't send you off with a flea in your ear, didn't run you off
ornato - ornamental. What those spindly plants were that the old fellow was selling
Thank you for another great recap, JudyB, and giving our dear Rgv Chick a much needed, well earned break. And thank you for another vocab list. 💗💗💗
Lino was a fool to take his wallet out of his pocket, there in the big city, where someone is always more than happy to take out from him. People were too honest and nice back home.
No doubt the original, Esmeralda, had no computer searches to find Baldo.
Oh noes, indeed! Doc BSC found Baldo on the intertubes! 😳
JudyB, thank you for another excellent and very much fun to read recap! And I absolutely did catch Vanesa shaking her hair and everything. But I'm a little disappointed in Vanesa. I realize she is very much under her mother's thumb, but it's time to move beyond that. I don't know how she can put a lip lock and vacuum weld onto Lino and then a little later just cozy up to Beto. He's not that much into her, she's not that much into him. If instead of playing tennis and clubbing while mooching off los Ocaranza she had gone to school, she could have become a doctor or a lawyer by now. Maybe a doctor and a lawyer. Time for cute Vanesa to get her own life.
Ah, a bunch of women happily shopping for baby furnishings. An occasion when wise men make themselves scarce, not that we would be wanted there anyway unless to carry a "few" things.
Amazing how people keep coming across each other in the most populous city in North America. Is anybody maintaining a list of "The Only x In Mexico"? I guess we can add "Park" or "Park Fountain" to the list.
Anyway, a bit awkward for poor Lino. And Beto and Marina missed each other by only minutes.
andy
Judy, I had to comment on a few gems including "She offers a glacial adios", "But a shadow falls" and "Lino hobbles home bloodied but unbowed". Your vocabulary is always top notch.
Even not knowing the context of the situation, these were all great.
Seems like all of you are having great fun.
Diana
"Amazing how people keep coming across each other in the most populous city in North America."
Andy - you are right! Such a small world in telenovelaland.
Ep 34: Part 1 The Tables Turn
Everyone is shocked to hear that Marga needs a transplant. Val smirks and wonders how Teo will feel about marrying Flor now.
It seems that Sami’s grave illness was an attempt to make viewerville feel sorry for Sami. Not so! She is actually going off to get some plastic surgery so that she can look more appealing to her not-so-devoted audience. Her “friend” worries that Sami scheduled the appointment on line since there are frauds everywhere. (Oh-noes! Are we getting set up for something bad to come?)
Teo asks Rose to see the report and suggests a second opinion. Rose brushes him off and Marga asks him to leave. When Teo insists, Rose cries that there is nothing more to do…none of the children can donate a kidney since Marga has a very rare blood type. Teo then offers to donate one of his kidneys, leaving everyone with their jaws dropped.
Teo leaves and Flor follows him to tell him that she appreciates his offer, but he shouldn’t have to do that much for her mother. Teo rambles and tells her that he doesn’t understand how Marga can be so ill..and so quickly, but he is willing to give up a kidney if worse comes to worst. Val is listening and wonders if Teo is trying to be a saint! Flor thanks Teo and feels that everything that is happening to them is love. They kiss and Val disappears. Flor then mentions looking at other options for her mother; and Teo wants to look into Marga’s case because he doesn’t understand all these different diagnoses that they are getting…it’s very confusing. Teo assures Flor that he won’t do anything unless he is sure about the diagnosis. Val reappears as they kiss again.
Marga chides Rose for making things worse and wonders how they are going to get out of the mess. Rose didn’t anticipate Teo offering a kidney, but she will find a solution. Later, Rose calls Teo and wonders what he is doing…does he want to make her go crazy? Teo has no clue as to what she is talking about; and Rose doesn’t understand how Teo could make such an outrageous offer to her mother. When Teo wonders why she is so offended by his offer, Rose argues that she doesn’t understand how he can send her those messages and then, in person, he is someone completely different. She is frustrated when she realizes the call had been cut off; so she marches down to Teo’s office to get an explanation. On her way. Val sends a message from Teo’s phone telling her that he couldn’t speak because there were people present. He is doing everything so that when they go public with their love, Marga will be on their side.
Aure is taking care of Marga and is sorry he can’t give her one of his kidneys. After he tells her that she has always been there for them, Marga recalls her conversation with Elpi where she tells him that he left her at the worst moment. Marga then tells Aure that she would rather talk about him; so he tells her that things are worse. Marga advises him to act before Mariana does…he has to fight because Mariana is going to want to take Xochitl from him.
Mariana and Flor are having lunch when Mariana Flor that she needs to go meet with her lawyer. Flor grimaces and wonders if Mariana has thought things through. Mariana gets upset and tells Flor she doesn’t need her advice. If she has to do everything on her own, then that is what she will do.
Rose sees Tere on the street. When Tere complains about how unappreciative Nestor is, Rose reminds her that she can always find someone else that will appreciate her on a dating site. After Tere refuses to do “those” things, she wonders if Rose will help her since she doesn’t know much about the technology. Later, Tere sees a couple kissing and is tempted to look into the dating site.
Aure arrives at the funeral home with a long face. When he tells Chile that his mother might die unless she gets a transplant, Chile worries and cries…because he is such a sensitive man and news like that affects him.
Ep 34: Part 2 The Tables Turn
Rose brings Jovita up to date on what is happening. Jovita wonders what Teo will say when he finds out that everything is a lie; and Rose responds that Teo must never find out…all Rose is looking forward to is seeing Flor’s face when she sees her and Teo together at last.
At the town gazebo, Chile calls on Val for help. When he tells Val that Marga is sick and needs his help, Val reminds him that he asked for Chile’s help several times and Chile refused. Chile then reminds Val of all the crap he has done to him and walks away.
Teo is in his office as Mica warns him that what he is offering is serious. Teo agrees and explains that he only did it to gain time to investigate into Marga’s condition.
Chile is at the church praying for the love of his life. Val listens, but doesn’t seem to be moved.
Chile goes running in to Itza’s salon to ask for her help, but she is on the phone with Flor who tells her about Teo offering to donate a kidney. Chile who overhears gives thanks to God as Val watches and looks worried. Chile runs out and immediately goes to Teo’s office to thank him and give him a big hug…he wishes he could make a statue of him. When Teo thinks that Chile is making fun of him, Chile explains that he is just grateful that he is willing to save his…err, Doña Margarita. Chile then offers free funeral services for Teo and his family
Outside Val chides Chile for praising Teo. When Chile retorts that Teo is a better man and friend than Val. Val finally tells Chile that everything is a lie…but Chile walks off saying that he knows Val always lies.
Teo calls Flor and asks her to try and get Marga’s medical reports. Val, of course is listening,. Flor doubts that Rose will give it to her, but she will try to at least get a picture of it. After Teo ends the call, Memo, the doctor who supposedly is seeing Marga, returns Teo’s call. When Teo asks about Marga, Memo assures Teo that he doesn’t have a patient by that name…and he knows ALL his patients. Teo goes to tell Mica what he found out; he is going to do something about and leaves. Val follows him demanding that Teo say what he is thinking out loud. Teo calls Flor and tells her he has something very important to tell her about Marga and Rose; he will meet her at her house.
Nestor is spying on Tere when he catches sight of Chile who is across the street from Marga’s house. When Marga comes out, Chile calls to her and tells her that he knows about her condition. As he jumps into the street to go to Marga, Nestor reveals himself and takes Chile away.
Teo goes into Flor’s house and tells her what he found out. Flor is dumbfounded and thinks there must be some mistake, but Teo assures her that he talked to the doctor personally and he knows for sure that Marga and Rose are lying. Meanwhile, Val is outside having a fit because he can’t get through the invisible barrier. Flor doesn’t understand how or why Marga and Rose could do something like that. After Teo assumes that the only reason is that they want to come between them, Flor apologizes for having the family that she has. Teo gets an idea as to how to handle the situation and give Marga and Rose some of their own medicine. As Teo exits the house, Val listens as Teo calls Mica and tells her to prepare everything for the transplant.
Ep 34: Part 3 The Tables Turn
Teo and Flor go tell Marga that they are going to have her operated on immediately. Marga tries to argue and asks that they seek other opinion, but Flor tells her that it’s best since that is what the doctor is recommending. Rose hugs Marga and tells her to go along with it and not to worry. Val who is listening is quite anxious and whips over to Chile who is in jail. When Val tells Chile that he needs to go with him because Marga is going to die, Chile brushes him off and tells him to go paly with the other ghosts. Val insists that they have to do something because Teo is going to kill Marga, but Chile counters that he can’t do anything. Val should let teo do whatever he needs to…and Val needs to stop dissing the saintly, good-looking doctor. Chile then ignores Val and starts chanting.
Once alone, Marga is panicking; so Rose tells Marga that she has everything under control. Her friend is sending her another report to indicate that an error was made. After Rose leaves, Marga looks at pictures of Chile and needs him.
At Flor’s house, Flor can’t believe that Rose and Marga didn’t confess. She wishes she could go confront them and tell them that she knows the truth, but then thinks that they should see how far Marga and Rose are wiling to go. Teo thinks that if they pressure Rose and Marga enough they will confess. Flor sighs and thinks she won’t be able to sleep; so she asks Teo to stay with her. Teo gladly obliges. Val is outside wondering why they don’t come out.
Next Day—
Flor wakes up to find Teo sitting on a chair watching her; he was there all night making sure Flor was alright. Teo then leaves Flor’s house to prepare everything for Marga as Val wonders why he spent the night with Flor…Val thinks Teo was taking advantage of Flor’s sadness.
Elpi calls for the DNA results, but he is told that it’ll take two more days. Tito then shows up and teases Elpi; so Elpi tells him to stop snooping and get to work.
Mariana goes to see Aure at Marga’s house. After she asks about Marga’s health, she gives Aure the divorce papers so he can read them on his own. He quickly gleans over them and sees that she wants sole custody of Xochitl; he refuses to sign.
Flor takes Marga to Teo’s office for her operation. Marga wants to wait, but Flor insists that it has to be done immediately. Marga stalls some more as Rose stands not knowing what to do. Flor insists and tells Teo to explain specifically what will happen. Teo explains that they will open her up,, yank out the kidney and then place his large kidney in her…she’ll be fine but may end up with a limp. Marga keeps complaining and thinks all of this is a mistake. Rose steps out with the excuse that she is going to call Aure, but instead tries to call Susie so that she can send her something to stop the operation, but Flor follows her, takes her phone and tells her that Aure has already been contacted. Val paces frantically as he thinks that they are going to kill Marga.
I also agree that if Vane Vane Vane had actually been studying or working during this time that yes! she could have become both a doctor and a lawyer and brought about World Peace maybe. And ended Climate Change!
Instead she's on that dang phone, flitting around the country club or getting manicures.
But then...there's the hair. I guess we need to cut her some slack just about the hair.
Steve- I agree with you. Very sad about Lino. He's fallen in love with a shallow gal, been robbed and beaten up, turned down for multiple jobs, and has left the fresh clean air of the country for the hard knock world of Mexico City. Pobrecito!
What a pivotal episode! Rgv Chick, you conveyed all the emotion and action splendidly.
A lie completely out of control that has taken on a life of its own. No one is unscathed.
“Chile is at the church praying for the love of his life for the love of his life. Val listens, but doesn’t seem to be moved’; “Chile brushes him off and tells him to play with the other ghosts” and “Val paces frantically as he thinks they are going to kill Marga” were all superb and speak volumes in and of themselves.
“Val smirks and wonders how Teo will feel about marrying Flor now”. Blech. Sigh. Contrast that to Teo offering to donate a kidney. It is mind blowing.
I loved that the tables were indeed turned as you so cleverly noted.
Rose has to be the most selfish person ever. And Marga should never have let her manipulative daughter go so far and should have put a stop to it long ago.
Will Flor be able to forgive and forget? I am not even sure she should bother.
“Flor grimaces and wonders if Mariana has thought things through. Mariana gets upset and tells Flor she doesn’t need her advice. If she has to do everything on her own, then that is what she will do”. I understand Aure is Flor’s brother but there are times hard decisions must be made. Flor can support her brother but she must also understand Mariana’s viewpoint. I don’t think there is any doubt where Xochitil belongs – with her mother.
Sami is having plastic surgery?? She fooled me. What a little minx.
Another spelendid recap!
Diana
Thanks again, JudyB. Just keep 'em coming. We'll have to send you a bouquet, maybe for your dinner table.
Since everyone from Valle del Bravo meets in the Magic Fountain in the park, it won't take long before Doc Mask-enator shows up. I want to thank Zackrat for doing the right thing, for once.
Lino, your attack kisses leave me cold, but I feel for you. Your whole being has been pining after Shallow Gal. Even your music reflects your sadness. Turn around and take a look at Ana, won't you? I bet she doesn't have a ruthless, controlling, and violent mother like Susu who has filled her head with the idea that she can only marry a rich man. You and Susu will never get along. You know what they say...when you marry, you marry the whole family.
Diana--I wish I could have been able to handle all the tns I wanted to watch. Flor fell off my radar screen, but whenever I see your signature, I do stop to read your always wise words. You're doing a great job recapping over on Reina. Congratulations.
I Love the way you describe these folkes Movements.
Lino's dream is to "show vanesa he can be successful and support her like the rich girl she's pretending to be "girl
You got a way with words, lol.
Doc is daydreamin to marina "why can't I make you mine?" Well darlin there's a few reasons. Let me run em off fer ya. All my black southerness fixin to kick in:
1.SHE DON'T WANT CHU.)))))))))
2.you, wit yo stupid self drugged her so you could have your way with her.
3.just cuz you save someone's life do
Not intitle you to that person's life.
4.you are mean and nasty, and rude.
5.On top of that scar Makin you ugly,
Your heart is black and evil.
6.SHE DON'T WANT YOU))))))).
I'm yellin with the parentheses marks
Incase yall didn't know. You have to be with someone like him,he don't hear
When she tells him NO!
Baldo wants to be step-grampa, sweet.
Maybe he will be. Or not. We'll see.
So as soon as maska-nater finds baldo
He'll follow him home and spot marina.
I'll hate that so much, but she gotta be aggravated and he's our boy.
Why don't su fall into a whole that's deep and bottomless. Well a person can dream.
Don lousey, still an insufferable SOB!
Thank you ever so much JudyB. This is
A rockin recap. Perfect for hot 95° degree weather. Thank you.
As it is, we'll just have to natter together on good ol' CarayCaray blogsite. I'll be helping out here on a regular basis, other than a family vacation in late June, in order to keep me off the streets. Old gals can be dangerous y'know. Thanks for making my day with that hilarious comment.
Diana, yes, between Rgv Chickie and JudyB this TN is getting first class coverage. But we do miss your comments.
Nina, you very often crack me up, but this time it was something that is perhaps a little more serious that I appreciated. Number three on your list: "just cuz you save someone's life do Not intitle you to that person's life."
Absolutely right! Certainly we would expect that person, Marina in this case, to be grateful, but not to become someone's (Doc Mask's) trophy.
Judy, yes! Considering we're talking about two daytime TNs airing in late spring, early summer, CarayCaray is practically jumping.
:-)
andy
Don L is so adamantly against Miranda, yet he has referred to her as his hija once or twice by now. Given the fact -- so far -- that he is all bark and bluster, a CrockPot Theory™️ Is starting to formulate in my brain, wondering if ay some point Miranda's life is threatened and he saves her. My overactive imagination is writing a script where Doc NutJob kidnaps her, threatens to harm her, and Don L saves her. Or it might be the grandchild. I know. Right? I've got too much time on my hands. LOL Since these theories are 99.9% wrong, rest assured, Patio mates, that it won't happen.
The big question is --- how will the Louse be redeemed, because, so far he appears to be redeemable. Unlike Doc NJ.
And if Miranda's hair style ever changes, be warned that it will signal a new etapa for her. Telenovela rules and all that...
Anita, yes, Judy deserves a huge bouquet of flowers. Such a wonderful delight to have her recapping again. All of you are just incredible!
And thank you for your supportive words about Reina. I am just trying to do the best I can.
doris "and if Miranda's hair style ever changes, be warned that it will signal a new ETAPA for her". Just great.
andy, miss your comments although I'm starting to try and sneak peeks at the Mirada recaps when I can - you are all having so much fun and nina you always make me smile.
Diana
Good Morning Patio! Yep, Diana, we're trying to lure you back over here even though you're busier than a one-armed paperhanger doing nightly recaps of REINA, in addition to your full-time job and killer commute. We just miss your warmth and kindness.
Doris, so glad that you think don Luis is redeemable. I agree but it's because I have a soft spot for the actor. He comes across as such a big, warm teddy bear in spite of his harsh comments and bullying. Of course opinions may differ. Carlos used to have a soft spot for the bad girls (which we women didn't) but was highly critical of the guys, noting every defect and selfish character trait. So maybe this is just the opposite sex cutting the other some slack. And that's how Mother Nature keeps Life going!
Now to be on the lookout for a change is Marina's hair style.(Or Vanessa's) We've already had the hair/character transformation loud and clear with Prudencia. Tremulous marital victim no more! Enter ferocious grandma.
JudyB, I had never had the pleasure of reading your recaps until now and how what a treat! Love your writing style , and I'm sure I will glean a lot from you. Thank you SO much for taking over the MIRADA recaps! I too am sending you a virtual bouquet of flowers...plus adding you as a Daytime recapper on the sidebar :-)
Andy, you are just too creative. I agree with JudyB, this "...she can put a lip lock and vacuum weld onto Lino ..." is hilarious and sidebar worthy :-)
Nina, I SO look forward to reading your comments. You always make me laugh and your "black southerness" is a riot today...well yesterday :-) Sometimes yelling is what it takes for someone to get things through their thick skulls, so go for it, girl!
Doris, "And if Miranda's hair style ever changes, be warned that it will signal a new etapa for her." Oh I do hope they change her hairstyle, I can't wait to see how she will be transformed. coe to think of it, I wonder why Marina hasn't thought about looking into regaining her sight; and Beto never brought it up despite bumping into Dr. Bazan so often...hmmm will that be part of the change?
Diana, Sami sure had me fooled too!
"Flor can support her brother but she must also understand Mariana’s viewpoint. I don’t think there is any doubt where Xochitl belongs – with her mother." My sentiments exactly! Aure has been trying to change, but he needs to consider all those grueling years Mariana had. And it seems he has forgotten that he told Paris that he was willing to give up everything for her not too long ago. Oh how I wish Marian would get Paris to testify for her!
Rgv Chick, we've got a rockin' patio here, which makes recapping a lot of fun. All the sassy feedback keeps me on my toes instead of down in the doldrums. All good.
" I wonder why Marina hasn't thought about looking into regaining her sight;"
(Raises hand...) . . . LOL Well, there was that matter of:
1. Don L hauling her off and dumping her at Doc Nut Job's feet,
2. Finding out she is really Don L and Pru's bio-kid
3. The unplanned pregnancy
4. Finding a place to live in the big city
5. Hoping Doc BSC doesn't find her
6. Getting the Mexican version of a GED, which I think she finally got last week?
Plus if she is separated from Beto, she cannot afford the surgery selling herbs, and hasn't had time to get on Beto's health plan...if he even has one since he wants to be financially independent from the Louse
The girl has had some distractions. 😉
Over the booze any day. I never even thought I'd have this much fun with people from different states and even
Other countries. This a fun patio.
Doris, You're right...too many distractions for Marina, but I still think Beto, or even Pru would have thought about it, especially Beto. Maybe that is something Pru will want to do for Marina...later, when she thinks of it...
JudyB, it has been long hasn't it, but, from what Diana and others stated, it seems you still have your pizzazz!
Nutjob. And getting used to the fact that she now has 2 momas, that love her dearly. In that respect she's blessed. The 2 momas I mean.
On now I'm gonna go watch "when calls the heart", it's the last episode of the season. She gotta deside rather she wants the new monty, or the saloon
Guy. Who is not by the way. Lol.
For don Luis and Beto to be redeemed, I'm going to predict that the wee babe will develop a problem, need a blood transfusion, and only Beto is a match. No need for DNA test. But Beto will have to pull off some miraculous surgery also in order for Marina to forgive him for doubting her. Now where does that leave don Luis?
Maybe the don will have to rescue Marina from the Mask-i-Nator by putting him in a vicious don Luis headlock.
Hmmmm...I think somehow Zackrat has to be involved in all this dastardly business also for don Luis to see what a scumbag he is and restore his previous capataz to his rightful place.
Of course all this is going to take eons of time, so I'm sure glad we have this nice Patio where we can ruminate on all this.
And we wouldn't have this Patio if it weren't for you, Rgv Chick, so thanks again. Means a lot.
Nina, I'm there with you at the ice cream shop. I love ice cream. 😎
I've never watched When Calls the Heart.....might need to give that a try. Lots of Hallmark movie actors are regulars in it.
I've gotten started on watching the Marvelous Mrs Maisel so that another black hole of time. 😳
Instead of a Don L putting his ™️ headlock on the Maskanator, finally using that crop/whip on Doc BSC to be a very satisfying outcome. For me. 😈
I'm out the door to spray grass killer in my mulch beds this morning. It does not harm the shrubs💗. That Bermudagrass is taking over the mulch beds around my shrubs. Argh!!! My hip and leg muscles are good for about 15 minutes of yard work and then I'm done. That's good enough for me. So nice to be doing normal activities again! Baby steps. Yayyy!
Y'all have a great Monday!
JudyB - likely the farm business will end up in trouble due to ZacRat's lack of management skillz and business sense, then he can end up fired and cleaning bathrooms at the local gas station. Perfect anvil for him!
Doris: Vanessa will get her BIGLY anvil sooner or later. I hope it's a violent one because this Buji expletive deserves one!
MIRADA
Ooooh, am I still in time for ice cream? One of my favorite "foods"!
Doris, I agree with your prediction about Zackrat and Don L. Z is gonna mess up all the avocado trees, sales are going to plummmet leaving Don L in a big financial pit. ATo add to tthat, Z will have stolen quite a bit of money from Don L since we've already seen him pocketing his "commission" so DOn L will give him a taste of that crop before booting him out. Don L will have to sell off the ranch to Mago who has a little stash fn money saved away. Pru can divorce Don L and maybe look Mago's way.
I would like to see Vanesa marry some scoundrel who is pretending to be rich and thinks she has money.
Lino can end up living happily everafter with Ana after he becomes a famous singer.
Yola will become a renowned lawyer and marry Eric who wlll give up the medical career he hates and go back to study law. He an Yola can open up their own offices and Amar CON Ley :-)
I'm not sure who Marina would end up with. Someone had mentioned Dr. Bazan; so he is a possibility unless someone new comes in. She can realize her dream of becoming a doctor...maybe an opthalmologist. I don't want her ending up with Beto; he has already burned that bridge. So he can stay alone or with Vanesa's blondie BFF who will make his life miserable.
The Maskanator can end up burnt to a crisp after Ramona finally realizes how evil and worthless he is and sets his house on fire while he sleeps.
Baldo deserves to be happy; so he can stay with Damiana.
Let's see who else--hmmmm
Oh, SuDooDoo, of course! She can end up pushing a cart through the streets and washing dishes in some dirty restaurant kitchen.
1. Ice Cream Shop - Can I join you? I would need peanuts and hot fudge with my ice cream.
2. Hmmm - I agree with everybody.
However, I'd like to see SuDooDoo clearing tables at their former tennis club, where everybody can see her. I don't think she'd stay there very long. Unless her perfidy is revealed to Pru and Don L, she'll keep up a good front as long as she can. Don L might feel sorry for her and put her on his payroll and have to live at the rancho reporting to Margarito. Her job will be to muck out the stalls. Zackrat is sent packing when his crimes come to light. This all happens BEFORE Don L loses the ranch and the house and Pru.
I just can't see Vane rejecting Lino. It would have to be Sudoodoo who forces her into the marriage with the con man. Maybe Yola and Eric will help her get the marriage annulled and maybe, just a tentative little maybe, she and Beto get married and spent the next x number of years yearning for what they lost, jointly making each other miserable, as they are forced to watch the now famous and rich Lino and Ana happy and Marina become a world-renown doctor (of any sort), raising his child in the bosom of her happy family.
Margo lost his opportunity with Damiana. Is there anyone else decent out there for him? He is or will soon be an empty nester. Will working hard from dawn to dusk mean he doesn't need female company? I can see him and Pru spending time together, but not as a couple. She'll need him after Angsty passes on.
Could we possibly wish Soodoodoo on Don L for eternity?
Wow...or rather WOW WOW WOW)))))))))))! as Nina would say. Ice cream really brings out the creative juices in you all. Love the various scenarios you have dreamed up.
Here's my prediction. Vanessa will end up with our very own Andy Banda. He's a man who knows a lip lock and vacuum seal when he sees one. Which indicates he's a bit of an expert in that department. Ahem. AND he loves Vanessa's hair. Which might help him overlook her other character defects.
And our Andy, in addition to being an experienced, mature (perhaps even sophisticated) male, lives in New York City--the ideal shopping destination for shallow Hispanic gals. It's a match made in heaven!
Andy, you're urgently invited to barge into the ice cream shoppe and tell us what your own predictions are. Inquiring Minds etc....
Ditto for Lurkers..jump in and tell us what you think.
One more Crockpot Theory--It will be Marina, who, after becoming a brain surgeon, operates on Toribio so he gets full use of his senses back and no more nightmares. I wonder what he'll think of Don L, who, presumably shot him and left him there as we saw him running off. (I admit my earlier belief that it was Toribio running away is definitely incorrect).
