El Sultán - Jueves - Parte 1 de 2
Well, this may look like a recap, but I still can't follow all the political maneuverings, so most of the recap will deal with the domestic aspects of the Sultán's life. To my surprise, the episode begins with what I assume is a matrak match between the Sultán and Nasuh. They seem pretty evenly matched at first, but finally the Sultán gets the better of him and wins. Whether the Sultán would be angry with Nasuh if he won isn't yet clear.
The scene shifts to Hurrem, still in the cell. She wonders where Suleiman is, and why he hasn't come to rescue her. Suleiman, meanwhile, has ordered that Hurrem be brought to him. He is informed that she's being punished. He's outraged, and demands to know who gave such an order. "Your mother, Your Excellency." Suleiman insists that Hurrem be taken out of the cell at once. He then berates Ibrahim for not knowing about this and tells him, "If you are my right-hand man, you need to know and tell me everything." [I keep thinking about Hurrem's wish to be the Sultán's friend, lover, advisor, everything. Could the Sultán's displeasure with Ibrahim about this be the first step toward his being replaced?]
Suleiman then goes to where Hurrem is recovering from her ordeal. She is lying down and looks rather listless. He kisses her forehead. He tells people to take care of her. Clean her, feed her. He then leaves to take care of his political duties as Sultán. Toward evening, he is on a balcony staring out at the water. He hears steps. Hurrem has come to see him on the balcony. He kisses her and then blindfolds her and leads her inside. He removes the blindfold, and she sees that he has put the emerald ring on her finger. She tells him he is the Sultán of her heart. He kisses her hand and says, "you are so beautiful, my heart belongs to you."
The scene shifts to the Buda Palace in Hungary. The Hungarian king (Louis II?) is asking how the Ottomans dare to be part of "our family." The family is composed of three dynasties that represent the Christian world. How could a Moslem realm be part of this? The King is informed that the Ottoman ambassador awaits an audience with him. Though Louis is tempted to make the ambassador wait, he decides to see what Suleiman proposes. The ambassador is almost dragged in and is ordered to kneel. Though ambassadors are supposed to be experts in the art of diplomacy, this one responds, "I only kneel before the Sultán." The king's men push him into a kneeling position, and he presents Suleiman's message: King Louis II has to pay all his debts to the Ottoman Empire; if not, the debt will be doubled. Louis responds that the Sultán has no power here. The ambassador replies, "The Sultán has power not only here but over the entire world." Oops, that wasn't the right thing to say. King Louis pulls out his sword and instantly beheads the ambassador.
Meanwhile, back at the Sultán's Palace, Mustafa is complaining that he doesn't want to go to class. His mother insists. He responds by leaving the room and speeds down the hall, where he literally runs into Hurrem. She refers to him as a child, and he sets her straight: "I am not a child, I am Mustafa, son of Suleiman. I am going to see him." She tells him he can't do that now. He asks her name, and she tells him "Hurrem. Your father gave me that name." He warms up to her a bit, runniing his hand over her hair and her face (just as his father would). Hurrem takes his hand in hers and they start to walk. Of course, in true telenovela fashion, who should come along and see them but Mahidevran, who freaks out. She pulls Mustafa away and then sees The Ring on Hurrem's finger. She grabs Hurrem's hand and tries to remove the ring, but she doesn't succeed. Instead, she collapses.

Meanwhile, Suleiman is meeting with his trusted men. One reports that the citizens are happy with him, but they would be more able to compete economically against the Venetians if their taxes were lower and the taxes on foreigners were raised. Suleiman announces that that's about to happen. Someone else brings good news: Ferhat Pasha has executed Canberi Gazalo (or something like that) in Damascus, resulting in the rebellion being crushed. We are safe now. Various people express opinions of how to proceed. Suleiman says that their target now is Rhodes. Someone says that the Hungarian king won't oppose us. Oops.
King Louis II of Hungary orders that messages be sent to Charles II and to the Vatican informing them of our response to the Ottoman Empire. "All Europe must hear what happens when they demand tribute from my kingdom."
A doctor has been summoned to attend to Mahidevran, who has not recovered from her collapse. After examining Mahidevran, the doctor comes over and congratulates the QM: Mahidevran is pregnant. The QM informs Suleiman. He does a good job of seeming pleased. He orders a fireworks display and a big celebration that night. Ibrahim says he will pray for the health of the child. Allah mediante, replies Suleiman. Ibrahim repeats, Allah mediante. The phrase means by means of Allah, or, more simply, God willing. Ibrahim's echoing the phrase somehow seemed to me significant. I'm not yet sure why.
Soon after, Suleiman comes to see Mahidevran. He congratulates her and asks whether she's well. He brings her a jeweled necklace. But Mahidevran isn't pleased. "Why did you give her my ring?" she asks. He tells her that that is none of her business, and that she should stay out of this.
Hurrem joins some other women who are drinking and celebrating. She is told that they are celebrating the Sultán's child. "Oh, Mustafa." No, Mahidevran is with child. Hurrem turns pale and spills her drink on the floor. She says she hopes the baby dies. The woman she's with warns her not to say such things.
Another woman comes over and offers her a drink, saying that she can see Hurrem's anger. Hurrem takes the drink and then throws it in the woman's face. They start fighting with each other. The person in charge of the harem comes in and the fight stops. She berates them and sends them to their rooms. The first woman, who seems sympathetic to Hurrem, tells her that she's the favorite now, and such behavior is inappropriate.

Mustafa, too, isn't pleased at the news that he'll be having a sibling. "I don't want one," he tells Suleiman. "You don't have one." Suleiman tells him that Ibrahim is his brother. "No," says Mustafa, "he's not your brother, he's your slave" (esclavo). Ibrahim says "The slave will wait outside." Suleiman follows Ibrahim outside. He tells him that Mustafa is just a child. "You and I know the truth," he tells Ibrahim. "You are more than a brother to me." [Hmmm...]
Suleiman and Mahidevran talk. He says that Mustafa doesn't want a sibling. Mahidevran tells him "He doesn't want to share love. He's like me. He doesn't want to share your love with others."
Hurrem heads off to see Suleiman, but Ibrahim stops her. "The Sultán is busy now with his family. You will go when I tell you to. Listen and obey." Hurrem resists, but finally she is persuaded to go back. One of the women (I'm not sure who) advises her, "You are the favorite. Act like one. They want you to make a mistake. Mari senses her dad is in trouble, the plane is landing.
after 8 rounds Titi and Al are a mess, Shadow cuts Titi's swollen eyelid (ala Rocky) so he can open it, and it's back to the ring, they pull off the gloves, it's bare knuckles now, and pretty even so far, hit for hit, then they connect at the same time, POW! they both go down for the count.
Leon has beefed up Val's security, and she gets updated, Rog has left the country, no word on Karla's parents, he'll check with the police, they could pressure the Colonel if he still wasn't in a coma, Diabla makes it clear, she'll take him to heaven if Leon is loyal, but it's a special place in hell if he's not.
Leticia gives Hilda a locket with pics of her 2 Catas on one side and Bayron on the other, ahh, Vane with Cata sneak into the hospital, Cata checks on her mom, Jota finds out Titi and Al are also in the hospital under aliases, the only Doc says Al's blood is compatible with Sal (wouldn't Hilda know this).
shirtless Santi, bruised and dirty, finds his way to town, wandering the streets like a zombie, (doesn't any one notice him) flashing on different romantic scenes with Cata, he catches Val on a storefront tv, saying she will work for Colombia, and will announce her bid for prez in a few hours.
nurses Cata and Vane visit unconscious Al and Titi , well this is what they have wanted to do for 20 years, the Doc shows, and gives them things to do elsewhere.
Mateos and Maribel were with the police all night, we find out Hilda gave her statement to a policeman at the hospital, they say Jo is where she belongs, Maribel asks Hilda for forgiveness.
Diabla checks in with Sasha, yep, Cuina, Tonina, and Pilar with catica just left to meet with a police guy in 30 minutes, to turn over the girl.
Al flashes back, Cata all in black lace undies, Titi the same but she's all in prepago red, (if I remember neither actually had sex at these times)
Vane quizzes Cata, if you could save one, who would it be, all of course, and if she could be with one (of the 3)... that's too tough for Cata, she will have to wait till this is all over (it will probably be some other guy), and gets a call from Mari (who is on the ground) she wants her hija and will exchange CataM, Cata doesn't know where catica is, oh and Santi is missing, by noon tomorrow Mari says, by noon tomorrow, as she has to hang up with Moncho, Reina and Yadith approaching, and as Yadith walks off, Reina tells Moncho she doesn't trust her.
Cuina and company are at the container area awaiting their contact, Diabla calls telling her the walls have ears (from the cameras in the house and what she heard), Cuina smells a rat, has Tonina activate it, as loyal Leon and his commandos arrive, Tonina is down, Cuina shot but running, and Pilar gives herself and catica up, but what's that, a noisy bomb, and they all run for it, Leon shooting Pilar, and the car explodes.
Val gives a press conference on the rescue of a child from dangerous Mexican narcos, naming them.
Cuina seems to be avoiding the commandos, watching at a tracker on her phone, Pilar the chemist makes it to a container, calls Cata, you have to save her, she's at Diabla's house, gets quiet and crashes to the floor.
at the pool hall Shadow says Al and Titi are still unconscious, the only Doc asked to get blood from Al, Cata is on a mission, Shadow knows you have to do what you have to do for your kids, he's in.
Sal gets the transfusion and is doing better, while Angelina Roberts calls Mateos, she wants to show Hilda's fashions, Milan, NY, Paris, everywhere.
in synch, Cata, Vane, and Shadow probe Diabla's house, bang, Cata shoots down Quique ??, Vane is on Sasha who gets away on the roof, Cata grabs catica, and they slip out.
the Doc tells Hilda, unconscious Al is not doing well, physically he seems ok, it's mental, he's called in a psychiatrist.

Thank you, deb, for taking on the recapping responsibility for El Final. You did a wonderful job and added so much to my enjoyment of the series.
I can recap the Friday and the Monday gran final, if everyone is willing to wait until the next morning for the recap.
So Leon can’t find Leticia and Luis hiding in plain sight at Hilda’s?
Jota’s blood is bad because of the XYZ factor but Albeiro is clean? Didn’t he get dosed, too? Anyway, I thought they were both cleared before they were released from the previous hospital stay.
Al and Titi looked great in spite of the beating each received at the hands of the other. As far as I could tell one small cut for each.
Pilar really cared about the kids. Too bad, she would have been a good mother if she had used her talents for good. I hope she’s not dead and can testify.
I don’t quite get 1- how the doctor can determine Albeiro has a mental problem in his minimally conscious state and 2- how a psychiatrist can help him in this state.

Wow, Juanita! Fabulous recap. You did get all the geopolitical stuff, as far as I could tell. And I was totally expecting to see Suleiman in a towering rage finding out about the beheading of his emissary. Probably that will be tonight.
I think the "more than a brother" regarding Ibrahim is that Ibrahim also is an advisor and good friend. And...an interesting thing happened that may cement his relationship with Suleiman even more.

Wow, Juanita! Fabulous recap. You did get all the geopolitical stuff, as far as I could tell. And I was totally expecting to see Suleiman in a towering rage finding out about the beheading of his emissary. Probably that will be tonight.
I think the "more than a brother" regarding Ibrahim is that Ibrahim also is an advisor and good friend. And...an interesting thing happened that may cement his relationship with Suleiman even more.

Deb, you are right. I completely misinterpreted the scene with Suleiman and his advisers and the stuff about narrow boats. I re-watched that scene on the Telemundo web site with English captions. Ibrahim was completely praised by Suleiman for the narrow boat idea. Snarky Aga was reprimanded with something about being respectful of others. Earlier SA had asked Ibrahim if he had ever seen a river. And, Snarky Aga will be really discredited for his remark that the Hungarians represent no problem when the beheading is known.
I keep wondering why in some scenes Suleiman wears a big hat and in others a turban. Ibrahim seems to wear the same headgear as the sultan in those scenes.

OK, so is this really the end on Monday and there aren't any further sequels? I do read the comments from time to time since I saw at least one season of senos and know some of the characters you're discussing. Quite a while ago someone posted that they suspected maybe they were doing another season. What do you all think?

This will be brief. Hurrem’s good relationships in the harem are over. They shun her at dinner. One of them is kind to her.
Suleiman and Ibrahim play some game with flat stones being placed into holes in a board. They talk about the astillero (shipbuilder) who is working on the narrow boats for the river. Ibrahim says the boats will have cannons. Suleiman wants to see the progress. They decide to go there disguised.
Mustafa wants to learn how to play the game with the flat stones.
Mahidevran tries to humiliate Hurrem who bows to her while placing the hand with the emerald on her chest.
Ibrahim gives Hatice a love poem in a scroll, very discreetly.
The Queen Mother says she’s aware there’s trouble brewing in the harem, but she wants M to win.
Said M gets some harem lady to arrange for the emerald to be stolen.
Suleiman and Ibrahim go into the market disguised. While there, Suleiman meets a boy selling water in the market instead of attending school. He arranges for the boy’s family to get money and for the boy to go to school.
Ayse is pushed to steal the ring while the harem ladies are bathing.
The harem is searched but the ring is not found. We see that M has it.
A gift from Luis arrives. It’s his emissary’s head in a jar of honey. Suleiman is furious and vows to cut off Luis’s head after he invades Hungary.
Hurrem cleverly tells Sambul that the sultan will ask about the ring when she is next with him.
Hatice and Ibrahim spend a few moments talking in the garden and looking at each other longingly.
Suleiman plans his invasion of Hungary.
Ibrahim gets one of the boss ladies of the harem to say who she suspects stole the ring. When Ayse is confronted she says she was forced to do it.
Ibrahim tells the QM that Mahidevran has the ring; he’s sure or he would not bother her. He hints that, if the sultan knew… The QM realizes this would sink M and says she’ll handle it.
While planning the invasion, Ibrahim again shows his grasp of strategy, and Suleiman likes his plan.
The harem is searched and some poor victim is accused of stealing the ring. Hurrem knows that she’s innocent.

Everyone, here is a link reporting that Gregorio Pernio claimed that there are another 40 episodes that could air as another short season. This makes sense given how choppy recent episodes have been, as if scenes were missing. Gregorio and Carmen apparently worked on many more scenes, and some people posted spoilers on the official account that angered fans hoping for a happy ending. Those spoilers got deleted. The cast have been appearing for interviews with no English captions.

Pernio said there are behind the scenes industry problems. I think this started when Majida left for another series. She didn't want to be typecast and maybe production delays forced her hand and inspired the writers to maximize her remaining time with the face snatching twist that used her voice and her sister as a stand in. I'll be furious if we don't find out on Monday who the red light hoodie lady is.
CG and Santi visited her and seemed ecstatic that she would bring down Diabla. Her gun toting guard seemed to be a treating medic instead of another narco henchman. He and Santi discussed her precarious medical condition that she barely survived. The medic probably saved her in a situation ironically mirroring Santi saving beautiful face CG from Diabla treachery, whereas this crime victim likely lost her beautiful face to Diabla. The red lights probably help her heal and see. She might not have eyelids. Maybe Karla is supposed to get her face back when Diabla is exposed? Moreover, if this is Amparo, CG would have said something to Amparo's kids.
That Santi is wandering around with amnesia suggests another season subplot. His burial survival is wasted otherwise. We were also shown in flashback him donning kevlar, indicating he had a complicated plan. He plotted a similar fake death to escape prison. He just finished one mini series and announced another project, but scenes are often shot out of sequence because of acting schedules.
Production delays from the face transplant twist probably forced other characters like CM and Hernan to be unavailable, hence their kidnapping. I thought CM was supposed to join CG at the DEA instead of Lisset, but maybe I took that too literally.
Francisco Bolivar has a movie coming out this month and Catherine Siachoque has enrolled in college. Alejandra Miranda (Reina), who looks like but is NOT the same actress who played Abigail the witch, has a new project in 2020.
I don't see how they can throw away 40 episodes. Most likely, they want to regroup for next year after completely confusing themselves with new twisting subplots, new characters and unavailable major actors.
These last episodes have been so hurried and cobbled together that maybe the network also wanted to debut delayed new shows and told them to split up season 4 into 4 and 5. Maybe 5 will get a new spinoff title so 6 and 7 can focus on narco tots fighting cop tots? We diehard fans can hope.

5.) Later, Ambar sneaks out of the underground tunnel..... only to get arrested by Navarro.
6.) Corina shoots the driver & then has El Chema arrested by Castillo & the Mexican Army Colonel.
7.) While El Chema is taken into custody, we see Rutila in the crowd.
8.) During the drive to DEA HQ, Ambar grabs a gun & knocks out the driver. Then she points the gun at Navarro, who tried to stop her..... when she gets hit by an incoming automobile. She gets up & flees.
9.) Super Javi's so-called daughter still high as a kite on drugs.
10.) Super Javi goes ballistic on Chema's son for causing the redhead chick to use drugs.
11.) Luzma & Isturiz continue sleeping together.
12.) Volpi, Ojeda & Dalia plotting more chaos.
13.) El Capo talks with Volpi on the next stage of their plan against the Casillas family.
14.) Meanwhile Evelina & Joaquin return from shopping.... only to get confronted by an angry El Capo.
15.) Violeta cuts the obvious tension & hostility by changing subjects.
16.) Amado, Ismael, Computer Dude & Co., were doing intelligence spying on Evelina earlier.
17.) Diana was sneaking at Volpi's hideout. She couldn't get a clear shot at the bloodthirsty psychopath.
18.) Amado & Diana get into a typical disagreement over strategy as usual.
19.) Diana disguised as an art gallery curator & looks like she'll be going after Volpi herself.

El Final del Paraíso
At Sasha’s, Shadow has checked the perimeter and gives an all clear. Vane checks in, all clear. Meanwhile, Cata’s tossing stuff off a shelf and discovers photos in one hollowed out book. Looks like pictures of the various narcos from this season. Cata says these photos that will help with the case against Yesica Beltran. We’re done here, now I have to get my sister back, says Cata. She thanks Shadow, picks up Catica and they all leave.
We see two SUVs at a quarry. Mari gives the order, bring her out, Moncho. Moncho guides a hooded Catamedia out of the car. Catagrande and Vane get out to meet them. CataG calls out to her sister, not to worry everything will be alright. CataG addresses Mari—it hurts to see what you have become. Hand CataM over and let’s be done. Mari removes Aunt Cata’s hood (It’s nice to see CataM again).
CataG has a flashback to the very intense first time meeting when she rescued CataM (was that from Martin the Cannibal?)
CataM asks about Hernan Dario. Mari says who cares, lets back to the business at hand and quickly. They have no idea what Mari had to do to bring CataM here alive. Moncho mentions if Reina gets away, she’ll come for us.
We get a slight rewind in time to a warehouse. (is this where CataM & Nachi were held? Bad guys own a lot of real estate) We don’t see how it happened but we see Yadith and Reina tied up and gagged a la CataM & Nachi. Yadith is trying to get free and there’s a close up on a fuming Reina. Seems Yadith got free, Reina calls out to her, you have to help me!
CataG wants to know about Nachi. He should be handed over as well. Mari wants to keep him as a bargaining chip if CataG doesn’t keep her word. Mari wants her daughter. CataG is unsure if she should hand Catica over but Vane says we have to do it. Mari threatens to kill CataM. Vane says don’t worry Cata, we will find a way to get Catica back later. The exchange is made. As Mari and Moncho leave with Catica, CataM calls out for Nachi, she doesn’t want to leave without him. CataG promises they will get him back.
CataM wants to know what she did to deserve this. Nothing, of course. CataG says, it hurts to know my own daughter has inflicted such pain on all the family. CataG promises again to find Nachi and says all that matters for now is you’re with us and safe. CataM asks about Hilda. Big sis says, things haven’t been good since you disappeared, but mom will be happy now. Let’s go home and wait for her.

Yadith and Reina have made it back to the plane. Alex is furious, have you betrayed me? Reina says we wouldn’t be here if we did. Alex brings up Moncho and Reina says he’s dead to me. Reina wants to leave. She’s not one of his little soldiers. She’s a badass Mexican narca and she’s going back to where she belongs. Alex says he’s going to contact Cuina, the real badass. This gets Reina’s attention--watch how you speak to me.
Alex isn’t worried, Reina needs him. Yadith apologizes; she never thought Mari and Moncho would do this. Sebas walks in and wants to know what’s going on with Mari. She betrayed us; she our enemy now. Like Diabla and like CataG.
Welcome home, CataM. CataM wants to visit Albeiro in the hospital but CataG and Vane talk her out of it. It’s not a good situation. Shower and rest first. CataM is happy to be back but she can’t stop thinking about Nachi. Flashback to their early days, when he wrote her a letter and wanted a kiss.
Diabla’s in the office with Albeirito. He looks more like his dad each day. Ok, that’s enough for her; she tells Leon to find someone to watch the kid. She asks about Cuina. Cut to Cuina sneaking around and watching Mari, Moncho and Catica entering the El Dorado Hotel. (did she have a tracker on the kid?)
Leon says Sasha is on Cuina. And he’s got two pieces of bad news. He has word that Natalia and Ivan are alive and in the hospital. Diabla shouts, what are you waiting for, kill them! Ok but you need to know that your boy’s father is hospitalized in critical condition. Diabla has a flashback to when she told Dani she was expecting little Al. Dani wasn’t happy, she was afraid of sharing her place with a sibling. Diabla reassured her she would always be the queen of the house. This baby is just business. Back to reality, Diabla says Albeirito will be good medicine for his dad.
Hilda is with Albeiro when CataG calls her. Hilda fills her in on Al’s condition—he wants to die. Physically he’s fine but he doesn’t want to wake up. Cata wants to visit but Hilda tells her don’t risk it, anyway Al’s being discharged. Hilda’s bringing him home. (likely she’ll end up with both Al and Sal in her house). Cata drops a hint—there’s someone here that will help with the recovery. Cata has to go, her sister is coming.
CataM still can’t believe she’s free and she still can’t stop thinking about Nachi. Flashback to when Nachi asked her to marry, ending in lovemaking. All they wanted was to be together, now they’re not. There’s no peace. CataM says she should have never come back to Pereira, Nachi had misgivings about it. Vane understands—she’s planning to leave with Jota and Nanita.
Alex makes a last attempt to keep Reina. Be careful, if you leave, you can’t come back. He’s Black Hand and he will find her wherever she is. HA, he’s a kid pretending to be a grown up, trying to show the world he’s his father’s equal. Alex pulls his gun and Reina dares him to do it. As she thought, he doesn’t have the nerve. Alex then tries another approach. We can do business. Now we’re talking. Reina will return to Mexico and give him a 60/40 cut. Alex will give her 10% of what he makes with the gringos. They shake on it. Oh, and Alex will throw in Cuina’s head if she hands over Mari and Moncho. It’s a deal! (I gotta hand it to Reina, she has what it takes)

At the El Dorado, Mari is crying, her mascara running, and smooching Catica. Catica is her whole world but it’s hard to be a mother (especially when you’re a lousy narca.) It’s too much for her to handle. She tells her little girl, if something were to happen, my last breath and my heart belong to you (isn’t there a curse waiting to be fulfilled?). I love you, my darling Catalina.
Moncho interrupts. What do you want to do? Mari doesn’t know. She can’t stop thinking about all she’s done. Flashback to when Mari told her mom she was with Titi and revealed her plan to have “Nachi’s baby”. Because of her, her dad, brother, daughter and mom have been through so much. Moncho doesn’t understand why she includes Cata. All she’s ever done was complain about her. He wants to understand. He wants to know why they are still in Colombia. She’s a wreck, has no answers for him. He says we have to leave. Alex and Reina will find us any minute.
Cuina is keeping watch outside the hotel and calls Alex. She wants to stay alive with his help. She’s got Moncho and Mari and in return he will help her with Reina. Deal! Sebas wants to know what’s up. Alex says, it’s a surprise, you’ve caught me. I’m trying to locate your dad so you can see him again. Sebas looks away, worried.
Zombie Santi is still wandering shirtless in broad daylight through the town. People are beginning to take notice. There’s one woman in particular who says to herself, It’s him and starts following him. Santi sits on a bench and the woman sits next to him. She grabs his face and says, honey, what’s happened to you? Where were you? Are you ok? She kisses him. He says he doesn’t know what happened. Do you know me? Of course, she knows him! He’s the only man who’s worth a damn in this miserable town. She kisses him again. (Does anyone know who she is?)
Hilda’s ready to take Albeiro home. Leticia has to leave to pick up the forensic report on her house. The doctor tells Hilda Al will be ready to go in an hour. Just then a security detail arrives, followed by Valeria and Albeirito. Hilda is pushed to the side; she can’t be there. Valeria speaks with Al’s doctor, she’s here to help. The doctor is speechless, it’s not every day the president shows up at the hospital. Modest Valeria reminds him she’s not president, yet. Well, she’s got his vote. Hilda looks on. Valeria asks to bring Albeirito to his dad. As they go, Hilda calls out, Valeria!
CataG will miss Vane when she leaves. She’s been like a sister and it was great working with her. They talk about the shutdown of the DEA office. Cata’s still considered a traitor. The only way to clear her name is to get Yesica. CataM is shocked to hear Yesica is the First Lady soon to be president.
Yes, Hilda, I’m bringing Albeirito to his dad. We just rescued him from a terrible narco. Like you? Hilda says. Like, why did you come here? Hilda continues, you really are… an amazing woman, such a good woman. Thanks for bringing the boy here. But Albeiro won’t be able to see him, he’s unconscious. In fact, he’s being discharged and I’m taking him home with me. The a-hole doctor interrupts, Madame President, I’ve arranged for the boy to see his dad. The shrink and the neuro agree it’s good for his recovery. Valeria says, do you agree, Hilda? Hilda agrees and Valeria walks away. Hilda says to herself, you won for now Diabla, but only for now.

Yadith says to Alex, your father will lead us to Catalina. He says he hadn’t thought of that angle before. Well, la sangre llama. But she continues, that wasn’t the case with Daniela and me. And anyway she’s dead. Yadith’s hatred is focused on Diabla now. Sebas is eavesdropping on this convo. No worries, says Alex, Shadow will lead us to Catalina and Catalina will lead us to Yesica Beltran. Sebas gets up to leave his hiding spot but it’s too late; Alex’s hand is on his shoulder, where are you going? Sebas looks worried.
And we are out and awaiting the gran final on Monday. I don't see how this can be wrapped up for good in one hour. MCM's info makes sense.

yes, Hurrem is clever going to Sümbül Aga about the ring, who leaks it to Ibrahim who jumps on Nigar Kalfa who runs the harem and supposedly Ibrahim's eyes and ears in the harem since Ibrahim cannot go there, who brings him Ayse.
curious how they recovered the ring as Mahidevran didn't seem to know, maybe searched her room while Sultana Madre offered her a special drink, of which she didn't drink hers.
the Sultan seems like a hands on guy, I'm surprised he doesn't lead the campaigns himself, curious about the guy in the market place that seemed to recognize him.
Ibrahim suggested they make the mouth of the cannons a bit narrower to increase their effectiveness.
the romances are intense, did Hatice (Sultan's sister) say her heart is beating in her ears?

I found last night's episode somewhat confusing. How did they get the ring back from M to plant in an innocent girl's bedding? My guess is that the QM went to M and told her frankly that if Suleiman finds out she has stolen the ring or arranged to have it stolen from the person he gave it to (Hurrem), M will be done for, so M gave her the ring so she could incriminate someone else. But that's just a guess.
I also found the talk of disguises a bit strange, since when Suleiman went to the market he looked like Suleiman (even I with my bad facial recognition abilities knew who he was). And clearly that fat little man at the market seemed to recognize him and went scurrying off (to report to someone?). The people who did not recognize Suleiman were foreigners, like the boy selling water.
As for Suleiman's warfare strategies, I find it hard to follow them and tend to give short shrift to them when I do a recap, but last night I thought that Suleiman and Ibrahim were discussing the warfare plans, and Suleiman asked him which they should attack, Belgrade or Buda. Ibrahim took the little tiles and showed how they would get to...Venice. And Suleiman seemed to like that idea and said he'd tell the other advisors the next day (and he imagined that some would have apoplexy over the idea, which also seemed to amuse Suleiman). Did I misunderstand this scene?
Hurrem is a real pro at figuring out how to get what she wants. I loved her telling Sambul that Suleiman will find out that the ring is missing. She thereby immediately motivates Sambul to find out what has happened to it. And, of course, earlier, there was Hurrem's "politely" bowing to M, all the while crossing her arms to show off the ring.
I'm enjoying this novela more than I expected. I thought the dubbing would be a deal breaker, but the rather clear Spanish, the 8 pm time slot, and the narco-free interesting plot more than outweigh the dubbing issue.

Between TV reception issues, work schedule and the last weeks of Paraiso, I haven’t been able to give much attention to this show. Also, I didn’t want to say much at this point for fear of leaking spoiler info.
Once Paraiso is done, I intend to contribute to recapping and commenting on this show. It’s a good one and I’m glad that we will have a group watching.

Turkish Series
I've seen some excellent Turkish dizi. I've become a big fan.
It was Telemundo that first got me hooked. I happened on the daytime premier of ¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagül? (Fatmagül'ün Suçu Ne?) Luckily, I found it in Turkish--so much better. It’s one of my all-time favorites. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, Telemundo tends to play the Turkish shows during the daytime.
Turkish series and actors have become extremely popular in many places around the world. They have a very big following in South America.
Generally speaking, they are big on family relationships, romance without graphic or gratuitous sex, and the bad guys are usually corrupt businessmen, smugglers maybe, but not narcos as we know them. They don’t show graphic violence either.
novelera, Univision is currently showing Amor Eterno (Kara Sevda), a big international hit starring a hot actor, Burak Özçivit. It was UniMas that showed El Sultan under a different name. I caught a few of the episodes there and saw some more on Netflix.
Netflix offers a collection of Turkish series and movies and they are also making original Turkish language content as well. That should tell you how popular they have become.

Going forward Mondays are good for me and possibly Fridays. My Spanish class will begin again in January on Wednesdays. I've been in the same advanced Spanish class for about 25 years if you can believe that! We just keep re-upping each quarter. It appears to be the only evening advanced class in our area. Sin Senos 4 & General
Sure hope Telemundo doesn't stick us with a cancelled "Flashforward" cliffhanger "ending". ABC's cancelled one year sci-fi "Flashforward" was carefully scripted to run 5 years with twisting subplots about mysterious terrorists who staged a global sleep blackout resulting in 9/11-like disasters around the world. FBI agents discover tantalizing overlooked smaller sleep experiments aimed at preventing an apocalypse because the blackout guinea pigs got glimpses of their futures. A second year run would have enabled the writers to speed up and tie up subplot mysteries. But ABC gave short notice of the cancellation, so the season finale never identified the culprits or their purpose, and many characters were left dangling. To no avail, outraged fans even staged hilarious narcoleptic sleep blackout protests at NBC stations.
I don't see how El Final will be able to wrap everything up tonight. I was looking to forward to Pres. Diabla wrecking havoc as a female Donald Trump, with useful fool Albiero serving as her First Dude/Laddy.

ABC's cancelled one year sci-fi "Flashforward" was carefully scripted to run 5 years with twisting subplots about mysterious terrorists who staged a global sleep blackout resulting in 9/11-like disasters around the world. FBI agents discover tantalizing overlooked smaller sleep experiments aimed at preventing an apocalypse because the blackout guinea pigs got glimpses of their futures. A second year run would have enabled the writers to speed up and tie up subplot mysteries. But ABC gave short notice of the cancellation, so the season finale never identified the culprits or their purpose, and many characters were left dangling. To no avail, outraged fans even staged hilarious narcoleptic sleep blackout protests at NBC stations.
I don't see how El Final will be able to wrap everything up tonight. I was looking to forward to Pres. Diabla wrecking havoc as a female Donald Trump, with useful fool Albiero serving as her First Dude/Laddy.
