Cennet - ep. 89 - p. 1 de 2
Well, I'm assuming that dondi356 is still having problems with the TV reception, so I've put together the following recap.

Kaya is still holding the pistol to his head. He says, "You couldn't love me, Cavidan, why?" Halil pounds on the door, asking Kaya to open it. I think Kaya does pull the trigger, but there was no bullet in that chamber. Halil finally tells Kaya that Cennet is in the hospital. That seems to get Kaya's attention.

At the hospital, Arzu is pleading with everyone to save Cennet. The doctor asks her which pills Cennet took. Arzu shows him the bottle. Was the bottle full? She doesn't know. The doctor then asks whether Cennet had any allergies or illnesses. Arzu doesn't respond. The doctor says, "You're her mother, right? Did she have any allergies or illnesses?" Arzu is very upset at not being able to answer his questions. He asks her to wait outside.

Mahir tells Melisa that Arzu lied to her for 20 years. Melisa insists that Arzu had been faithful to him, but Mahir doesn't believe this.

Selim comes into the hospital room where the medical staff is working to save Cennet. Of course, it looks as if she's not going to make it, but Viewerville knows that she will. "I should never have left her," Selim says. Mukaddes and Suna arrive, and then, of course, Kaya. "My daughter is strong, she'll recover," he says.

Back at the Soyers' house, Melisa overhears Sema tell Ozlem that her role is to give the family a male heir. Ozlem says that she will always be loyal to Mahir. This angers Melisa, who runs into the room and laughs at Ozlem's claim of loyalty: you're the mistress, Melisa says scornfully. She adds that Ozlem will never take her mother's place. Sema defends Ozlem, and Melisa angrily tells Sema that she will regret this. Sema replies that the only thing she regrets is letting Arzu into the house. She also tells Melisa that from now on, she willl not leave the house without telling them where she's going.
Melisa tries again to call Arzu.

The doctor asks about Cennet's psychiatric history. Were there any prior suicide attempts?

Outside Selim and Nilgun's new house, Pinar talks to Halil. She doesn't know how to deal with Kaya's insistence on her being his spy. Halil tells her that she should tell him (Halil) first. If he thinks there's danger to Cennet or Selim, he won't tell Kaya. Nilgun comes outside and is upset to see Pinar talking to Halil. Pinar claims Halil brought her her things. Nilgun reminds her that Selim told her that she's to tell no one their address. "I'll see that you pay for this," Nilgun says to Pinar.

Telenovela medicine works, and Cennet is now awake, sitting up, and crying. She tells Mukaddes that she just wanted to die. Mukaddes tells her that suicide is not for her, that's not who she is.

Meanwhile, in the hallway outside Cennet's hospital room, Arzu and Kaya are arguing. At one point, Kaya says, "You love Melisa because you love her father, and you hate Cennet because you hate her father." The entire ugly conversation can be heard in Cennet's room. Finally, Selim storms out and angrily tells them to be quiet. "Just for today, can't you think of someone else beside yourselves?" he asks. He tells Arzu that he knows the truth of what happened in their lives.

Sema is in the process of gathering up Arzu's clothes and removing them from the room she's preparing for Mahir and Ozlem. Melisa is furious. "These are my mother's clothes. She will be back. No one touches my mother's clothes. I'll burn the house down." Orhan tries to calm her down.

The doctor reports that all the results are excellent, but Cennet needs professional help. Mukaddes tells Cennet it might be a good idea to see a psychiatrist. Cennet is having none of it. She becomes more and more agitated, and finally goes into full meltdown mode.
 

Cennet - ep. 89 - p. 2 de 2

Ozlem feels nauseus and quickly heads outside, leaving her phone on the kitchen counter. Melisa sees the phone as it receives a message from someone saying that he's been waiting for her all day. Ozlem returns from outside, retrieves her phone, and goes into another room. Melisa overhears her telling someone that she'll see him in a hour. With a triumphant look on her face, Melisa thinks "You're out of here, Ozlem!"

Cennet is discharged from the hospital. She sees Arzu and says, "You had the nerve to come here? I'll never forgive you. You treated me like I was garbage. Leave, and don't come back!" Selim offers to take her home, but Cennet turns to Kaya: "Papa, can you take me home?" Selim is about to try to stop this, but Mukaddes advises him not to do anything, that Cennet has unfinished business to deal with. Let her get her anger out.

Ozlem leaves the house and takes a taxi. Melisa gets into her car and follows. Ozlem gets out of the taxi. Melisa parks her car and follows Ozlem on foot. Ozlem greets the guy who was waiting for her. He kisses her. Melisa takes photos.

Cennet gets out of Kaya's car. Kaya says he thought they were going to his house. Cennet says "you admitted you were my father right away, but while you may be my father, you lied to me all along. Tell me how to forgive you, Papa." Cennet asks Kaya to let her go. He says he can't, she's all he has. Cennet starts to run from him. Kaya runs after him, but in spite of her just getting out of the hospital after almost dying, the wonders of telenovela medicine enable Cennet to run faster than Kaya.

Melisa prints out the photos. Orhan comes into the room. She asks him to give her five minutes, and also tell her father she'll see him then. She has a big surprise for him.

Standing outside her new home, Mukaddes tells Arzu to tell Cennet the whole truth. Cennet arrives unseen while Mukaddes and Arzu are having this conversation. She hears Arzu reply, "I can't tell her 'your father raped me.'"
And the episode ends.

I have TV reception back but unfortunately we had a power outage last night. I was able to watch the show online this morning.

I still can’t stand Melisa. I don’t think she cares about the truth or anything else but having her mother all to herself. I am glad that she’s going to out Ozlem.

Is Halil sweet on Pinar?

Big cliffhanger! How will this reshuffle the deck?

Many thanks, dondi356, for your appreciative comment. I'm sorry to hear that you had a power outage last night. It doesn't seem fair to finally get the TV reception back only to have it taken away by the outage.

I'm with you about Melisa, though I was happy to have her stand up to Sema and especially happy to have her on Ozlem's case.

Yes, it's possible that Halil is sweet on Pinar. Then again, he does seem like a quite decent guy, and so perhaps it's his decency rather than his attraction to her that motivates him. Or perhaps it's both!

Thanks for offering to do tonight's recap. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
 

Cennet #90 Part 1

We start off with Cennet hearing how she was conceived.

Melisa appears in the living room. Mahir, Orhan and Sema are waiting for her. She passes around the pictures she took of Ozlem.

This can’t be, says Sema. Mahir is speechless. Melisa laughs and Orhan snickers. A clueless Ozlem walks right into this. She’s back from shopping and starts showing off what she has bought for the baby. You’re shameless! exclaims Sema. Mahir tosses the pics at Ozlem. Melisa gathers the pics and shows them to Ozlem, saying, you’re very photogenic! Melisa is all smiles. Ozlem is in shock.

Back to Cennet--she asks is this true? It’s my right to know! Arzu says yes. Cennet can’t believe this. It must be another lie. That’s how I was conceived? Cennet shakes Arzu, say it’s not true! To calm Cennet, Arzu says it’s a lie. Cennet yells some more, then takes off and hops into a taxi that’s conveniently waiting at the corner. Mukaddes tells Arzu to stop Cennet because she’s going to her father.

Ozlem tries to push it off, as the pics were taken at a bad angle. Melisa is prepared; she also has a video to go with the pics. There’s no escape for Ozlem. Mahir asks Ozlem to leave. Is your lover the baby’s father? Sema calls for a paternity test to determine Ozlem’s fate. Melisa is enjoying the show. Melisa thinks mission accomplished, it’s time to bring arzu back. Not so fast says Mahir.

Nilugn outs Pinar as a double agent to Selim. We see a flashback, where Pinar came clean to Selim. He said ok that’s fine, you can give info to Kaya. We’ll play his game for a while. Remember our goal is to completely destroy him. Selim tells his mom to back off it will all work out.

Cennet shows up at Kaya’s. Halil says he’s in the yard. Cennet grabs Kaya’s gun. She threatens Halil not to stop her. Kaya is sitting by the pool. Cennet approaches with the gun at her side. Are you ok, he asks? He sees the gun. Cennet replays the revelation in her mind as she glares at her father. She points the gun and says, I’ll only ask once so listen. Is it true you raped my mother? Kaya short circuits. Cennet wants an answer, answer, answer!

Kaya is in stunned silence for a bit and then-- I loved your mother too much. That was my only crime. Just then, Arzu shows up at Kaya’s calling for Cennet. She hears them and runs to the backyard. Cennet continues, deny what Arzu said! She’s a liar, right dad? Kaya does not answer. Say it’s not true, dad! Cennet points the gun at Kaya again. Arzu yells, no! Dad, tell the truth! All he can manage to say is, Cennet.

Cennet #90 Part 2

Arzu pleads with Cennet, don’t do it, listen to me. He’s not worth it. Cennet says to Kaya, talk or I’ll kill you. Kaya asks her to drop the gun. He says, you’re not bad and it’s not worth it. Arzu tries to talk Cennet down. Cennet says to Arzu, you never loved me. Arzu says she never faced her pain, so she repressed her love for Cennet.

Cennet cocks the gun but Arzu steps in front of Cennet and pleads with her. Please let me be your mother. Let me love you. I know you are angry. Please drop the gun. Cennet say she’s in such pain she can’t breathe. Arzu says she will be her breath. And with that, Arzu gets Cennet to let go of the gun. She kisses Cennet. Cennet calls her mother and they embrace. Kaya is standing silently and then he walks away.

Uh oh, Melisa is waiting for her mom at the hotel. She gets up to go to her mother but is stopped in her tracks when she sees Arzu is holding onto Cennet. Melisa runs off. Surprisingly, Arzu lets Melisa run off and continues to her room with Cennet.

Kaya is shooting holes in his window. Something to pass the time while he thinks of his next move.

In the morning, Ozlem is taken for the DNA test.

Kaya is giving orders to 2 thugs to get rid of someone. Make it look like an accident and do it today. He gives the guys a picture. Who is it? it’s Melisa!

Cennet is still sleeping while Arzu gets up and goes into the bathroom. Cennet wakes and she thinks back to Melisa running off. Cennet gets out of bed, grabs her stuff and goes quietly.

Orhan and Melisa are talking. Orhan is wondering why at first Arzu hated Cennet and now all of a sudden wants to be a devoted mother. It doesn’t make any sense. Melisa starts thinking. She realizes it was after the attempted rape of Cennet!

Halil is worried about Kaya. Kaya is vowing that Arzu will feel the pain of losing a daughter.

Arzu calls Cennet, who is sitting in the park. Arzu asks, did I do something wrong? Why did you leave? Cennet just needed to be alone. Arzu says she can come to the hotel whenever she wants.

Arzu finally remembers Melisa and calls her. Not available.

Selim comes to meet Cennet. Out of the blue she asks him. do you want to marry me? He’s a bit shocked but he answers her, of course I do! Cennet says, let’s get married today! She is serious. She says Selim is the only one who really loves her. She continues, let’s make our own story and leave the city. He yells out, I’m getting married! We will be so happy! He picks her up and spins her around.

The thugs fix the brakes on Melisa’s car. They let Kaya know. He will pay when Melisa is dead.

Selim drops Cennet off at the Soyers. She wants to speak to Melisa. Meanwhile Selim will take care of the wedding prep.

Cennet rings the bell and asks for Melisa to come out. Melisa is thinking about her convo with Orhan. Melisa goes to the door and says, I have nothing to talk to you about. Cennet says this won’t take long. Uh oh, they are getting in Melisa’s car! The bad guys are watching them drive off.

Wedding planners show up at Selim’s house. Nilgun wants to know what’s going on. He says, today I’m marrying Cennet! Nilgun is shocked and not happy.

Kaya shows up as Arzu is leaving the hotel. He stops her saying, you think you’ve won? Yes. I won, says Arzu. All’s fair in war, says Kaya. And the war isn’t over until the king is dead. You took a daughter from me and now justice must be done. Now I’m going to take Melisa from you.

And we are out.

Wow! Thanks so much, dondi356, for this superb recap! I felt as if I were re-watching the episode. You got absolutely everything, beautifully expressed.

So Melisa realizes that Arzu changed her attitude toward Cennet after the "incident," the kidnapping and attempted rape of Cennet. What wonderfully appropriate payback for Melisa, who instigated the kidnapping.

I confess that I was quite puzzled by Kaya's shooting bullets into the glass wall/window of his house. For a while, I tried to connect it to his hiring the two thugs and asking them to "make it look like an accident," but clearly that made no sense. I guess you're right, it's simply "something to pass the time while he thinks of his next move." That's certainly bizarre, but it makes more sense than anything I can think of. And Kaya is a bizarre kind of guy.

I wish I felt more confidence in Cennet. Several times since I've been watching, she would suddenly have an emotional meltdown. So now I have a hard time trusting her when she's happy. In last night's episode, as she and Arzu hugged after the showdown with Kaya, I kept waiting for her to suddenly turn on Arzu again and start to scream at her. To my surprise, she didn't do so. But she had another chance, after Selim has said that yes, he'd love to marry her. All I could think of is poor Selim, he doesn't know that he's marrying a crackpot. Though of course he does know what she's like, he's seen her sudden wild mood swings. Oh well.... (And yes, I realize that I'm probably being unfair to Cennet.)

Great comment about Melisa getting payback. I think Melisa is also suspecting her mother was raped by Kaya.

Kaya is a bizarre guy alright. Maybe it was his idea of blowing off steam.

At the beginning, we saw Cennet to be a kind, humble, intelligent and hard-working young woman. Yes, she always had abandonment issues, but she had loving family and friends for support. Then she got the job at SR Group and her life and mental health fell apart. The constant abuse from Arzu and Melisa. The constant push and pull between Selim and Orhan, who were in competition for Cennet’s affections. Arzu, Melisa, Nilgun and even Selim, have all had spectacular meltdowns. It's hard to watch this night after night.

Cennet #91 part 1

Kaya says, accept my condolences and walks away leaving Arzu to panic. She frantically calls Melisa. Not available. She calls the Soyer house. The help answers, she just left with Cennet.

Nilgun will not allow the wedding. Selim ignores her. He’s choosing clothes and rings. Nilgun thinks this is ridiculous and wants to speak now. They step outside. She asks, what kind of marriage is this? Don’t you remember all that’s happened? She’s Kaya’s daughter! He says once we are married, she won’t be. He doesn’t want to talk about this anymore. She gives a final warning about Kaya.

Cennet and Melisa are driving. Looks like they may be lost. Arzu is in a taxi. She calls Cennet but she does not pick up. Arzu tries texting Cennet, this is an emergency you need to answer. Cennet tells Melisa she’s going to call Arzu back. Melisa decides to turn back.

Arzu pleads, where are you? Wherever you are, please go home immediately! Melisa finds the brakes are not working. The girls start screaming with Arzu still on the line. She asks Cennet to send their location. Melisa pulls up the emergency brake and the car tumbles off the road. Arzu cries out to the driver, faster, faster!

The bad guys show up at Kaya’s to get paid. They show a picture as proof. Kaya sees Cennet was in the car with Melisa. He loses it. What the hell have you done!

We see Cennet and Melisa unconscious. The car is against a tree. Gas is leaking and we see a sparking wire. Melisa comes to and calls to Cennet. Cennet wakes and they try to get out, but the doors won’t open. Melisa tries cutting her seat belt with a piece of glass. Then Cennet tries cutting Melisa free. Melisa says she’s sorry and passes out.

Kaya calls another guy who was following Melisa to make sure. Kaya asks him for the location. Guy gives the location and says you should have seen the accident it was beautiful. He explains that the car’s going to blow, there will be no survivors. He tells Kaya it’s too dangerous to help them and he speeds away. Kaya shoots each guy in the leg and takes off to find Cennet. Meanwhile, Arzu shows up at the scene.

The girls scream for their mother. Arzu tells the taxista to call an ambulance. Arzu swears she will get them out, but the doors are stuck. The spark stars a fire. The taxista pulls Arzu away and the girls scream.

The taxista has a fire extinguisher. He says maybe you will be able to save one of them. Don’t say that! Arzu does what she can. She gets Melisa out; her leg is hurt. She tells Cennet she will be back for her. The taxista exclaims Melisa is getting worse we have to take her to the hospital!

A random guy is driving by in his flashy sports car and stops at the scene. He asks if anyone is still in the car. Arzu screams for him to help her daughter in the car. The man uses the extinguisher and works on getting Cennet out of the car.

Melisa isn’t doing well; she’s bleeding from her mouth, says she’s dying and passes out. Arzu puts Melisa in the taxi and takes off, leaving Cennet’s fate with this stranger. The man gets Cennet out just in time before the car explodes. Cennet falls on top of him and they stare at each other….hmmm. We see an ambulance with police are on their way to the scene.

Meanwhile Selim is anxiously waiting for Cennet. Nilgun is calm now and she’s ready. She couldn’t forgive herself if she wasn’t with him on his wedding day. Selim wants to believe this, but he thinks she’s planning something. He warns her. Nilgun assures him. Cennet should have arrived by now. He tries calling. No answer. Nilgun looks relieved.

Cennet #91 part 2

The man is taking Cennet to the hospital. She doesn’t want to go. He insists but she wants him to stop so she can take a taxi. No way, he says, you might be seriously injured.

Arzu is with Melisa in the hospital. She begs her daughter to hold on. Arzu asks the police about Cennet. They didn’t find anyone else at the scene but they tell her the car exploded. A while later, Arzu gets news that Melisa will be okay. She will be able to go home in a few hours.

Kaya is cursing himself and driving to find Cennet. He arrives at the scene the police try to restrain him. They tell him there was someone taken to the hospital.

Ozlem gets the test, they will get results in one week. Sema doesn’t want to give their real names. She’s worried about this getting out. Ozlem gets a weird look on her face.

The man is still arguing with Cennet about going to the hospital. He says at least let me take you home to your parents. Where do you live? Cennet lives in Beykoz. He seems happy to hear this…hmmm. She suddenly insists he pull over, now! She runs out of the car, falls to her knees and cries, my mom left me to die!

Selim still hasn’t reached Cennet and he can’t find Melisa either. Selim wants to see Mukaddes. What about the wedding? After Selim leaves, Nilgun says to herself, we made it through today, I’ll find something for tomorrow. She’s happy.

Kaya shows at the hospital screaming for Cennet but he finds Arzu instead. He wants to know where Cennet is. She wants to kill him. The police break them apart. Arzu tells the police Kaya caused the accident. The two continue to cause a commotion in the hospital. No one knows where Cennet is. Kaya can’t believe Arzu left Cennet at the scene.

Selim is at Mukaddes’ door when Cennet arrives home. The man tells what he knows about the accident. Selim thanks him and carries Cennet into the house. The man repeats the name, Cennet--he smiles and says what a beautiful name…hmmm. The man remembers something and quickly takes off.

Kaya calls Mukaddes. He wants to know if Cennet is there. Yes! and she’s staying here! says Mukaddes. Kaya is relieved.

Selim wants Cennet to go to the hospital. Cennet repeats, she left me there, she left me there. She preferred Melisa. Selim asks, who? Cennet cries, Arzu! My mother left me! Selim and Mukaddes watch her cry.

Arzu accuses Kaya again. They were in the accident because of you. He says to her, we are the same. If I’m a murderer so are you. You tried to kill your daughter. Melisa is eavesdropping. Kaya continues, we have nothing else to lose. We only have each other. She says, you’re an idiot and you are in trouble! Kaya responds, you’re my only trouble, amor eterno! She tells him to get lost! He says he will resolve this and they will be together and btw watch what you tell the police.

Melisa goes to her mother and asks about Kaya. Arzu tells her nothing. Is cennet ok? She’s alive.

We see the guy who saved Cennet in a garage working on the sports car. The car’s real owner comes to pick it up. The owner thanks “Nejat”. He notices some jewelry on the passenger seat and gives it to Nejat. I think Nejat is happy this will give him a chance to see Cennet again...hmmm.

Melisa asks Arzu, you used to hate her mom, even more than I did. Right? Yes, says Arzu. You started to like her after that day. The day you saved Cennet from that man. We get the flashback to the incident. Melisa asks, what happened? Arzu wants to know what she’s getting at. Melisa asks hesitantly, that man, Kaya….did Kaya do something bad to you? Answer me.

And we are out.

Thanks once again, dondi356, for another terrific recap. I especially appreciated your calling attention to Cennet's falling on top of her mysterious rescuer, and the two of them staring at each other, followed by the first of several increasingly convincing "hmmm"s from you. Even with just a couple of weeks to go, it's clear we haven't seen the last of the heroic rescuer.

I am also glad you noted the weird look on Ozlem's face. I have no idea what to make of it. Do you?

I don't know if/how Ozlem will use Sema's concern to her advantage. Looks like she will try something.

I usually dislike when they introduce new characters in the final weeks. I can't see this guy adding anything of value to the story. We shall see.
