VIVIR #102 Part 1

After sipping on bad Beca’s brew, the cup already shattered on the floor, Alma collapses!

Loli and Pedrito, sitting outside enjoying ice cream cones, watch as Rebeca leaves. They comment how odd it is that she is there.

JE is incredulous that Misael is back in the company; after all, Misael is the main suspect in their financial meltdown! Fatima is in complete agreement with JE but Don Emilio asks them to support his decision; he wants to give Misael a chance. Misael starts to explain how he is correcting the problem when Monica flies in on her broom. Bruno suggests that JE review Misael’s proposal to keep the company from going bankrupt. After Misael adds that he gave up his shares, JE asks if he also returned all the money he stole! Fatima also cross examines him as Cris tells them to calm down; Adolfo reminds them that they are brothers (not exactly viewerville mouths silently). Monica, claw protectively on Misael’s shoulder, points out that Misael is completely dedicated to the company…and the most important thing for Don Emilio is family. JE tells a very downcast Don Emilio that he supports HIM and if he allows Misael back into the company, he will say no more. You are so noble Don Emilio states, obviously grateful for his support.

Angel asks Elena that at the very least, she should ask Rebeca to leave the house, so Elena agrees…and she will ask Santi to come back too. Elena adds that Rebeca is so unstable that she wouldn’t feel comfortable having her near Angel and Santi. (FINALLY viewerville groans).

Monica curses Romina as she was the one who ratted her out to Rebeca. She puts the USB in the computer and sees the video of Bruno and Romina together, he bare chested, she in his shirt. She ugly grimaces, shaking her head, spewing the realization that Bruno is Romina’s lover!

Romina complains about having to get Rebeca’s medication, wondering what she takes it for. When a hot under the collar Luciano arrives, asking where his kids are, Romina chides him for bothering her at work. Undeterred, Luciano demands to know why she said the children are at her apartment when they aren’t! After Romina insists that they are at the apartment, Luciano repeats he was just there and they weren’t! Romina then tells Luciano the children couldn’t get out because she installed an impenetrable lock that can only be unlocked from the outside. Luciano is (understandably) livid that she had Mati and Javi locked in. As he leaves, Romina tells him she can’t go with him because she has too many problems going on at the office. Luciano angrily admonishes her that her work has always been the most important thing to her, leaving as she rolls her eyes.

Armando, on bended knee, begs Doris to confide in him; he cannot stand to see her crying. When he tells her she is his daughter and wants to help, Doris snaps that she has always taken care of herself!

VIVIR #102 Part 2

In an unaired scene, Gi is glad that Doris put Rebeca in her place. Gi knows it hurt Elena but sooner or later, Elena would have found out about all the things Rebeca did. (Actually, if Doris hadn’t sung like a caged canary, Elena might well NOT have found out!)

In the hospital corridor, Angel tells Jimena she was terrified of losing her mother. Jimena (the voice of reason) suggests that they report Rebeca. (I’m not sure if Angel told her Elena already had?) Angel then shares how she loves JE more than ever.

As Gabriela, Sebas and a crowd gather, Icky berates Sebas for returning. Then Renato arrives, grabs Icky and tells him that he has no reason to be accusing Jimena! There is nothing going on between them. He has no right to demand Jimena leave her house! Icky says it is HIS apartment. Renato scathingly assures him that he will defend Jimena who is his friend! They continue their antler bashing until Renato tells him he will not allow Icky to destroy her!

Jimena (lovely in a hot coral blazer and pale-yellow V neck blouse) tells Angel about getting the loan for the pizzeria. She then tells Angel about Icky accusing her of having Renato as her lover. As they chat, an astute Angel wonders if there is something going on between them; Jimena smiles sheepishly admitting she likes Renato…but her first and foremost concern is and will always be David. Angel is thrilled and envelopes her friend in a huge hug.

In an unaired scene, Romina tells Bruno that she can’t have lunch with him because her children are nowhere to be found.

In another cut scene, Fatima and JE discuss their well warranted concern having Misael back at the company. They agree they need to keep him in their sights. They then talk about happier events, JE reconciling with Angel and Fatima being back with Luciano.

Fatima is on her way out when Romina (grasping at nonexistent straws) stops her and accuses her of taking the children. Romina continues her lying and pointless accusations as Fatima remains calm, cool and collected. Bruno slithers up behind Romina, grabbing her and pulling her away.

Diana

VIVIR #102 Part 3

Fatima and Adolfo call Luciano who tells her he still hasn’t found the kids. Adolfo advises that Luciano needs to file a missing persons report but Luciano can’t take time out from searching for them. Fatima suggests that she and tio Adolfo file that report. He continues his search, driving through the streets.

Jimena leaves and cautions Angel to be careful with Rebeca. Te quiero they murmur to each other. Angel knows the truth of her friends’ admonition and stares thoughtfully.

JE runs into Rebeca (still in her thigh high black halter dress, time for a wardrobe change) warning that she had better not try anything against Angel, him or his family. Rebeca spews that she won’t lose her mother and won’t give up on getting her birth name back. When she adds that she has been there all day long, Romina (for once having perfect timing) approaches telling Rebeca that she is glad is back! Quick on the draw JE immediately questions why Rebeca said that she had been there all day!

After Romina apologizes for opening her big mouth, she asks Rebeca if she can leave for a little while to find her children, but Rebeca snaps that if she leaves during work hours, she’ll be fired! For once, Romina is speechless.

Misael gloats that they have won their first battle against JE. Bruno wonders why JE returned so soon and (rightly) worries that JE will be keeping a close eye on their every move. Misael sips his cocktail, complaining about the “rough” head butt Primi gave him and orders Bruno to send Rufino as a pay back. Monica enters and orders cheatin’ Bruno to get out! Monica rages that Misael had Rebeca back in his bed. Misael refreshes his drink, telling her it was nothing…just a one-night stand. She warns him not to trust Rebeca because the next time Rebeca will finish him off. Misael’s facial expressions clearly mock her as he rises angrily, telling her to not interfere!

Rebeca stares into yet another mirror on the wall, asking who is the fairest of them all. Rhetorical of course, as needing no confirmation, simply strides her vain (and delusional) self out into the hall. She runs into Misael, mewling at how badly he treated her that morning. When he retorts someone like her deserves no less, Rebeca hopes that when he realizes how much he hurt her, he will be sorry because even someone like her gets tired of being mistreated; she could forget about him forever! She kisses him as he wipes it off. She goes back into her office and harkens back to her last discussion with Alma. Alma had told her she will never stop being a heartless woman and will end up alone…nobody loves her reverberates in Rebeca’s mind and she mutters that she warned her several times…cold, callous and heartless Rebeca hopes she is resting now.

Diana

VIVIR #102 Part 4

Loli and Pedrito enter and find Alma sprawled out on the floor. Crying, they rush up to her, poor Pedrito asking if she is dead. They run outside and at the doorway, scream for help!!

Viewerville was not privy to whatever transpired when Lucas was mere feet away from Brayan and his thugs last episode. We next see Lucas asking his parents for Corral’s phone number (as we fret that no one has heard Loli and Pedrito’s cries for help). Lucas tells them how Brayan stole from Mati, but incredulously, Lupe doesn’t want him to get involved and Luis forbids him from contacting Corral! Just then, Luciano enters and asks if Lucas has seen Mati.

Meanwhile, Mati and Javi finally enter a store and ask for a phone.

As Lucas is about to tell Luciano about Brayan, Lucas’ phone rings. Thankfully it’s Mati who tells him where they are. Mati and Javi are very relieved. Since Luciano has no idea where the address she gave them is, Lucas goes with him as his parents caution him to be careful.

Armando (looking smart in a blue blazer, red pocket square and striped shirt) is sad because he thought the hug his daughter gave him would resolve everything. Gi wisely tells him Rome wasn’t built in a day and points out that that at last, he finally had a hug from Doris. Armando cries that it felt good…he is dying to hug her again.

In another unaired scene, Doris tells Wanda that Armando caught her off guard…otherwise she would not have let him touch her! Wanda tells her she has her father right in front of her and doesn’t even want to see him; unlike her who doesn’t stop crying as she thinks of her little son. She then mentions Primi hitting Misael and now Misael will never help her find her son. (Mi amiga and I are still lamenting that it seems that still no one has heard Loli and Pedrito!)

Luciano is finally reunited with his children, with Lucas’s help. Lucas wants to tell her something important but Luciano and Fatima need to revoke the missing person report. Luciano shakes Lucas’s hand and thanks him as Javi beams.

Angel and Santi are at Elena’s side when the doctor advises Elena she can go home tomorrow. Marisa, La Pinky and the other factory workers arrive to support Angel, telling her she is not alone as Elena smiles. After Santi leaves, La Pinky asks Elena how she is. Shortly thereafter, she and the rest of the workers depart. Marisa urges Angel to focus on her mother and not worry about the fabrica. Just then Lupe calls Marisa and says that Alma was found - lifeless. “Que” Angel cries as she and Elena are impactada.

Diana

VIVIR #102 Part 5

Doris calls Rebeca (who is in the middle of berating Romina) to tell her about Alma…Rebeca asks if she is dead but (thank God) Doris confirm she isn’t! Rebeca asks what clinic they took her to…then hisses that she doesn’t care about that woman who kidnapped her! Doris verbally berates her and after she hangs up, murderous Rebeca mutters that of course she needs to go see Alma, she needs to finish what she started!

Marisa tells Angel that Alma is at the clinic and will have several tests done to figure out what happened. No puede ser!! Marisa takes her leave, Angel is distraught while Elema’s expression is hard to read, eyes hooded.

In another scene I didn’t see, Loli and Pedrito recount how they found Alma. Wanda suggests that the children shouldn’t be there so Marisa asks her to take them.

Lupe visits Alma who is awake but unable to drink anything because her stomach is upset. She thinks she won’t make it this time and mentions that Rebeca was there and told her that justice would come to her first…and it would be the last time she would see her. Lupe, in tears, calls Rebeca a disgrace. Alma adds that it’s time for her to pay for stealing Rebeca…her time has come. “No tia” Lupe begs. All of a sudden, Rebeca opens the door and seeing Lupe by Alma’s bedside, silently curses Lupe for being a busybody. She closes the door and leaves unnoticed except by a nurse in the hall.

Luciano, Fatima, Javi and Mati are in a restaurant booth, having a bite to eat. Mati explains that they wanted to go back to the hacienda but got lost. When Luciano tells them he has to call their mother, Javi cries that he doesn’t want to go back to her. When Luciano calls her, Romina sneers that this is all Fatima’s fault!! When Luciano tells he plans to get the children back, Romina reminds him she has custody but he argues that her lack of caring for them put their lives in danger. Still upset, Lucino tells the kids they will spend the night in a hotel but Fatima suggest they spend the night at her grandfather’s house.

Primi is accosted in the dark by three thugs, is beaten up and taken away!

Diana

VIVIR #102 Part 6 of 6

Misael can’t stop thinking about his passion with Rebeca. His thoughts are interrupted when Rufino calls and asks what he wants them to do with Primi. Misael glares but we do not hear the answer.

Santi talks with Elena and suggests that Angel be the one who tells Rebeca to leave the house. When Elena comments that he and Angel are wonderful and would never hurt her the way Rebeca has, Santi guilty flashes back to Dulce’s shooting.

Rebeca stalks back into Elena’s house with Angel and JE lying in wait for her. Avenging Angel, arms folded, tells Rebeca that she has to leave! Their father left the house only to their mother and Rebeca is no longer welcome in her home or her life. Rebeca accuses that Angel wants to take all that belongs to her but Angel counters they will give her whatever portion is coming to her (hell I insert), but she will never have their affection. When Rebeca pulls at her hair ready to lunge at Angel, JE stops her as Corral and her officers arrive. Angel tells them she wants a restraining order against Rebeca to keep her at bay so she will not be able to get anywhere near her or her family!

I am so grateful for mi amiga’s conversation translations and brilliant observations which were amazing.

Diana

Vivir. You and your friend really outdid yourselves with bons mots today, Diana! I especially liked: "bad Beca's brew,"(I loved the alliteration); "Monica flies in on her broom;" "claw protectively on Misael's shoulder;" "spewing the realization;" "antlers bashing;" "Bruno slithers up." I'm so glad Mati's and Javi's being lost didn't drag on any longer, and that they weren't kidnapped or put in physical danger. We saw only 1 rejection of a plea for phone use and the nice store clerk who allowed them to use the store phone. Whew! Plus, it endeared Lucas to Luciano. It was shocking that Romina would put her job over finding her lost and possibly endangered children. I hope Primi survives without serious injury and that the thugs' attack is added to the price Misael will no doubt pay in the end. No good deed...etc.

Vivir

Dear Diana and friend to us all, thank you for bringing us every moment...the good, the bad, and the really bad.

Wow, Reb is disappointed that Alma didn't die . It's still a mystery why Alma drank what Reb was stirring like a wicked witch stirs her cauldron. I think Alma wanted to die to get away from Reb. Reb thinks that she can kill anyone she wants and won't get caught. I noticed that she threw the little bottle of bad in the garbage can right outside Alma's door . I have never seen such delusional confidence .

About that dress that Reb had on that definitely had a ...focal point ...Hey, buddy, why are you making eye contact with me ? Can't you read the sign?

Renato has returned to being a rescuer. Icky is still icky. ..and so go the days of our lives .

I hope Prim gets some head butting in. I wish he had been carrying ...his big butcher knife.

Reb...homeless ...now where is she going to crawl. Girl has burned a lot of bridges. Does Bryan have a hovel she could crash at? Maybe she can bunk with Romina. Susan

VIVIR

SpanProf, thank you for all of your lovely and supportive words.

"It was shocking that Romina would put her job over finding her lost and possibly endangered children" was exactly right; callous even for Romina, wasn't it? I shudder to think of what might have happened.

I'm still concerned for Mati and Javi and won't feel a bit better until Brayan is back in jail. Promising vengeance, he poses a very real and serious threat the children, especially as Mati is unaware of who he is.

"I hope Primi survives without serious injury and that the thugs' attack is added to the price Misael will no doubt pay in the end. No good deed...etc." was perfect and mirrors my thoughts exactly.

Diana

VIVIR

Thank you so much Susan.

I appreciate "I noticed that she threw the little bottle of bad in the garbage can right outside Alma's door" which I didn't see as I was typing away (I need a second pair of eyes in my head). Interesting, I wonder if that will lead to anything??

Renato is starting to get on the right path, he just needs some gently nudging. I'm sure Jimena will be able to get him there.

Beca doesn't seem to have a lot of housing options does she? I love the idea of her having to go to Brayan's!! It will be interesting to see where she lands. :)

Diana

Vivir

Thanks once again, Diana and friend. You really bring the scenes to life for us. I was thinking you must use a thesaurus! I’m really enjoying this telenovela, and a lot of that is thanks to you.

This time the kids told that Rebeca had been there. I saw her throw the bottle in the trash, pretty careless. Or she’s so confident she’ll get away with it. I wonder if the bottle, which I think was a prescription, has Romina’s name on it. If it’s found she would be arrested for the attempted murder. And I was surprised and happy that Alma was alive.

Also happy the kids are safe and will go with their dad. Renato told off Icky. Rebecca is homeless. All in all, a good episode I just hope Primi will be ok.

Liz

Vivir

Thank you, Diana, your recap is fantastic as always! I too love your alliteration! You have a wonderful way with words and vivid descriptions!

Alma seems to be unkillable!! Impressive that she actually told someone about Beca's visit and they didn't do the whole drawn out almost tell and then didn't get the words out thing! :)

Glad Mati and Javi are safe! And shocking that Luis and Lupe would tell Lucas not to get involved when his gf is in danger, especially since she's in danger because of Lucas. I guess I could understand their being scared for Lucas but it's still pretty callous.

No horrible thing Romina does surprises me, can't she just get hit by a bus? And of course, it's still Fatima's fault! sigh

Vivir de amor

Wow! Diana, thank you and your shy friend for this captivating recap. Things are really moving along now and I am glad to have your help to guide me through it all, the good, the bad, and the really bad, as Susan said.
I have to wonder about all the cut scenes though. Are they trying to make a little more time in which to place commercials for the Over The Air broadcasts? That really seems to me to be the most likely reason. Well, I always have to remind myself that for OTA we viewers are not their customers, we don't directly pay them a dime. They get their money from advertisers.

I was upset that Rufino and the others waylaid poor Primitivo. This has been a constant in this novela, that the "bad" rich people such as Monica and Misael have their stooges and goons, seemingly on retainer, to do whatever they want done. Poison a horse, get a false diagnosis or DNA report, kidnap or beat up someone, whatever.
It's annoying and depressing.

I agree with Susan that Big Bad Becky is also overconfident. Not only did we see her toss the small medicine bottle with the eye dropper into a garbage can, but then there was a shot of the bottle inside the garbage can. We were meant to see that, I think; but it could just be a red herring tossed in by the naughty writers.

Meh. Let's see more Doris and Sebas, Wanda and somebody, even Primitivo, I think he has "earned" a shot; and, of course, 12 or 24 year old Sandra needs something or somebody to light up her life. I'm not sure why I find Sandra so interesting when the teenage rat pack (Lucas, Mati, Gabriel) are so boring.

dazed and confused Andy

VIVIR

Liz, thanks for your kind words.

Like you, I was shocked Alma is alive. But very relieved.

I was also happy the children spoke up about seeing Beca. It would be nice if someone discovers the discarded bottle but I fear they won't and Beca will get away scott free from another (failed) murder attempt.

I'm hoping Luciano doesn't let the children out of his sight for a moment. I'd say put them under lock and key but that didn't work well the first time did it? :)

Diana

VIVIR

You are so nice Darcy. I appreciate your very uplifting words.

Alma seems to have extra lives in reserve. Let's hope Beca doesn't get a chance to kill her a third time which is often the charm or in this case, a disaster.

I'm so disappointed in Lupe. She should know better and for her information, it's too late for Lucas not to get involved. He is already in it up to his neck. Indeed, her reaction was surprising and "callous" as you noted.

I think Primi will survive but no doubt be banged up quite a bit.

Diana

VIVIR

Thank you very much Andy!

I am very surprised at the number of unaired scenes. Thankfully, Omni seems to get the longer versions. I think you are right in that some markets are trying to make more revnue which is why scenes end up on the cutting room floor.

This does abound with evil doers anxious to do any dirty deed for minimal profits.

I'm betting that bottle goes out with the trash with no one the wiser.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we saw Wanda once in today's episode which is strange considering she was mentioned several times in the cut scenes. :( I'm hoping we see more of her tomorrow. And that Sebas and Doris start the process of trying to patch things up. That is if he will even deign to be in the same room with her! And then we have Sandra and Santi who have barely exchanged a dozen words yet the patio already has them destined for each other!

Diana

VIVIR - Episode 1O2 - Part 1

Hola, Patio.

Thanks Diana (recap) and Mia Miga (conversation translations). Lots of action and you captured everything with your usual flair.

I don’t know what’s more disturbing: Almis drinking anything Rebeca touched OR the actual drink which looked like strawberry milkshake/Pepto Bismol®️/Thousand Island dressing. C’mon, Almis/writers. Use your head! Not subtle: Big Reb dropping the smoking gun/eyedropper in the recycling bin, and the audience of Pedrito & Lola. Don’t worry. Corral will screw the pooch on this investigation sooner or later. More on her later.

I cheered when Mónica found the video of the filthy pair Brumina in flagrante delicto. She needs to put the bottle down and get the upper hand on Big Reb and her lap-perra. Vengeance also needs to rain down on Bruno. I don’t know much about addiction, but I hear Hell hath no fury like a lush scorned.

We have to be patient with our poor Dorotea. Here’s hoping she lets her guard down and lets Armando and Sebas back in soon, i.e., not in 32 episodes.

I was glad astute Ang caught Jimena’s mooning over Chef Boy Hair-y AND it wasn’t awkward. It’s never been more apparent that Renato is the President of Ang’s Friend Zone. Which is understandable…and great for Icky’s ex.

Was anybody else wishing and hoping and thinking and praying that Mónica would catch Bruno and Romina together?!? She had much opportunity in this episode (even more with the unaired scenes ya’ll described). There’s still hope.

Who the heck is running HR @ Rivero Cuéllar, Inc.? Once can’t deny a subordinate the right to care for her children in an emergency. OTOH, the emergency was caused by attempted child imprisonment and gross neglect. Cancel the call to HR. Nopis! Get HR back on the line. Something must be done about the Business Casual/Trashy dress code of late.

Rebeca-in-the-mirror sure is creepy. “Who is the most sociopathic of them all?” she should be asking. Please raise your hand if you know the answer. Practicing her reaction to Alma’s death?!! Really, Reb? Saying Alma asked for it and hoping she’s resting…IN HELL?!! As we say on the South, that anvil is fixin’ to be bigger ‘n Dallas!!!

VIVIR - Episode 1O2 - Part 2

I was relieved that Brayan did NOT get his hands on the lost kids; however, he still wants to exact his revenge on Lucas via Mati. Just because they are reunited doesn’t mean they are safe. I’m sure it won’t be long until another boneheaded youth move is made (aka metida de pata juvenil). NEXT!

La Pinky stole her scene:
•being pretty-in-her-namesake
•hugging Santi
•dropping some head-scratching , gender bender English: “Excuse me, Mr. Selena. Get well soon.” Love her! I’m sure Elena’s been called worse.

Romina bleating that her lost children are all Fátima’s fault makes less sense than Misael’s hairdo and/or Bruno’s tattoos. More senselessness: Rebeca burning her mouth on the drink nervous Romina served. ¿QTH? The takeaway from this scene was Doris calling Reb out and hanging up in her face. Undeterred, our voluptuous serial poisoner threatens to finish what she started! ¡Ay, Dios mío!

Alma makes no sense. She has 9.75 lives, she drinks what Reb was stirring, yet she refuses to drink poison-free tea from Lupe because her tum tum is sensitive. She doesn’t think she’ll survive this 18th assasination attempt (as Big Reb lurks in the clínica shadows). Foreshadowing? Red herring? Post-poison babble? WHERE ARE WE GOING WITH THIS?!? She can go ahead and join Mauricio - all the clues are laid out BIGGER ‘N DALLAS!

Poor Primitivo. First Wandiux yells at him for defending her honor(!). Now Big Bang’s goons are carrying out Misael’s twisted payback. Hell hath no fury like a lush’s son scorned. BOO!

How many time is Santiago going to guilty flash back to Dulce’s undoing? Say something, Chump! And hurry up and get back to Age Shifter Sandra. We’re running out of time!

If Rebeca’s having a showdown with Ang & JE then she’s NOT at the hospital fulfilling Alma’s strange prophecy. Right? OR is she finally home from a long day of eye dropping?!? We got a glimpse (1O2 episodes in) of feisty Ang when she wouldn’t back down from Reb and actually lunged in her direction. Go, Ang! It wasn’t clear what the heck Corral was even doing at Mr. Selena’s house. She should be there - arresting Frida for her multiple crimes. This was a great scene, but a very abrupt ending.

Final/Rsndom Question: why has JE removed his red jungle beads? Can’t be the strict dress code at the cooperativo. Ang is still rocking hers!

VIVIR

O.S, thank you very much!

As usual you were rockin' away today and the results are wry and just hysterical! I smiled all the way through...

"lap-perra", "Chef Boy Hair-y" and "La Pinky" ...dropping some head-scratching , gender bender English: “Excuse me, Mr. Selena. Get well soon" were fabulous.

I'm losing a bit of patience with Santi. He is dragging his feet on Dulce but then again, once all of the sordid stuff comes out, Misael will need to face the music and although that particular killing was not intentional, his covering it up was. Still too early to bring Misael to task.

O.S., I completely agree with you in that Brayan is certainly going to give hurting Mati another shot (so to speak). They may have avoided one catastrope but the next is right around the corner.

My favorite line is "Alma makes no sense. She has 9.75 lives, she drinks what Reb was stirring, yet she refuses to drink poison-free tea from Lupe because her tum tum is sensitive". :) Perfect!

Diana

VIVIR

There's a new format for posting and I see my comment to you O.S. has vanished.

I'm hoping perhaps Darcy might stop by and she will kindly be able to restore it.

Diana

Diana,

I posted your comment as requested, and it seems to have changed the page formatting again - at least for me, hopefully no one else is experiencing that?? Let me know if it is an issue, and I'll try to fix it later if it is.

BTW, I've been thinking for awhile that the voice on the ending credits sounds like Gala Montes and I finally looked it up today, it is her!

VIVIR

Darcy, I'm not sure what is going on. The page formatting changed when I initially got on yesterday but then reverted back to what it was initially.

I much prefer the "old" format. This is going to be harder when posting recaps. I know how very busy you are but if you could look into this, that would be wonderful.

Thank you for reposting my comment.

Diana

VIVIR - Posting

Thanks, Diana & Darcy! One night last week I noticed the posting format had changed, but I just thought my phone was being wonky (esp. when it subsequently reverted to normal). The Preview feature was gone, and so it was almost like posting blindly. Is this what ya’ll are talking about or is it like that one time where everything was bold. The Bold & Beautiful Era, 2O24?

Ugh! I got the new format for posting this comment.

I looked at it, but I can't see any obvious setting changes, I'm afraid to break it while trying to fix it. Maybe RGV Chick will have some idea? She has much more blog experience.

VIVIR

O.S. thank you for commenting that you noticed a change last week which shows that something, somewhere was "off" then. Yes, what you saw is what I'm seeing now. "Almost like posting blindly" is exactly right.

Darcy, thank you so much for looking at it. I will let Rgv Chick know...

Hopefully, there won't be any hitches when I try to post later. Ack.

Diana

Vivir

Super job, Diana and friend. I love "Avenging Angel,". My favorite scene was Angel and JE socking Rebeca with that restraining order. Woohoo!

Scientists should study Alma's constitution. That woman has superpowers to fight off poisoning.

VIVIR

OK now the blog is back to the way it appeared before; strange. Fingers crossed it stays this way. I am going to let Rgv Chick know...

Niecie, thank you so very much.

Yes, Alma is so strong she certainly does have "Superpowers" :)

Diana

Vivir

The blog looked wonky to me this a.m. , but now it is back to its normal format.

O.S. Your comments are always a treat to read. Yes, dreamin' and plannin' !!

Can't wait to see how our story unfolds . Susan

VIVIR #103 Part 1

Mati hugs her father tightly; she and Javi are so happy to be with him! Luciano reassures them that they will not return to their mother. Mati now knows why Luciano loves Fatima. She and Javi get into bed, exhausted and ready to sleep.

Luciano tries to be quiet as he stops by Fatima’s room to “thank” her. He gives her quite a long lingering kiss. “Te amo” Fatima says gently, earning her another kiss. After he leaves, Fatima sighs and smiles happily.

To my utter dismay, a distraught Lupe tells Angel that the doctors have little hope for Alma…it’s her heart. When Angel tells her that she was fine when she last saw her, Lupe sobs that who knows what Rebeca has done to her…it’s odd that every time Rebeca is in the neighborhood, something happens to Alma (finally, dawn over Marblehead). Angel thinks they need to pray.

Later, Elena approaches as Angel flashes back to the doctor saying that if her mother had taken a larger dose, the damage would have been irreparable. Angel tells her about Alma…and that Lupe thinks Rebeca caused it.

JE stops Rebeca in the hospital corridor; she tries to defend herself saying she came to see her mother who surely can’t agree with what they are doing. JE tells her she always plays the victim and stresses that neither Elena nor her children want to see her. Rebeca puts on her poor, poor pitiful me face saying that everything that is happening to her is very difficult and everyone whom she loves accuses her and turns their backs on her; worse, they can’t accept their own mistakes. She insists that Elena will believe her…and JE can’t stop her. When JE threatens to call the police so they can investigate the “medication”, Rebeca leaves.

Elena and Angel discuss Alma who has suffered so much. JE arrives and Elena harkens back to her last meeting with Alma. Her heart seemingly softening a bit, Elena says she wants to see Alma.

Pedrito gives Alma one perfect, white rose. Innocents Pedrito and Loli cry at Alma’s bedside, pleading with her not to leave them! As my eyes also mist, Alma comforts them and assures them they will not be alone. Alma touches Pedrito’s face and asks him to be calm. She has one favor; she asks that he, as the man of the house, help Marisa take care of Loli. By now, Pedrito is sobbing uncontrollably as Alma blesses him and holds him to her as Loli lies on top of them. Alma gives thanks as a tearful Marisa’s chest starts heaving as well.

In an unaired scene, Doris and Alma are opening their shops when they see Gi and Armando. Wanda urges her to give Armando a chance.

VIVIR #103 Part 2

Don Emilio asks Mati and Javi what kind of games they play. “Gaming?” he inquires quizzically. They not only explain it to him they show him how to play. This was a fun scene with Don Emilio wearing a head set and manning the controls. With a sense of wonderment, Don Emilio smiles and affirms that while he likes it, admits he is scared by how lifelike technology appears. He then asks Petra to bring him some good games. He draws a circle on the table and they play marbles, having an absolute blast! Fatima soaks in the happy scene smiling and Javi give Don Emilio a hug. Cris is also enjoying every moment!

Adolfo warns Luciano that taking the kids to the hacienda is a crime. Luciano explains about Romina locking them in. Adolfo will try to get him a reprieve since Luciano is trying to protect his children. A resolute Luciano is willing and determined to do what he must.

Meanwhile, Romina calls her attorney and asks how she can keep her children.

Armando (so handsome in his baby blue blazer, pink shirt and pink pocket square) has the letter Doris’ mother wrote. He reads it to Doris although he seems to have parts of it memorized. Doris’s mother explains how sick she is and asks him to take care of their daughter. (If anyone can add more of what she said, kindly do so). Doris smiles, now realizing that Armando didn’t know about her…she loves him! He hands her the letter along with a picture of herself as a child. She flies into his arms as Gi sobs on the sidelines. Armando is overcome with emotion asking Doris to forgive him. And with that, Doris begins the first leg of her journey, skipping down the yellow brick road to her assuredly happy ending…

Elena assures Angel that she will be fine with talking to Rebeca.

Dressed as a nurse, Rebeca stalks the hospital corridors, plotting to quiet “that florist” forever!

Alma asks her beloved, emotionally shattered Lupe not to be sad; she will meet her maker and her daughter. With that, Elena appears at the doorway. Lupe says her aunt is in delicate condition but Alma asks her to come in…she was waiting for her.

JE and Angel are talking about Rebeca as the snake slithers right by them unseen. JE asks Angel to wait until the doctor confirms their suspicions before she acts. Angel is angry; adamant that she will report Rebeca if Alma dies!

Rebeca (seemingly now invisible, does she have Frodo’s ring?) eavesdrops as the fortune teller congratulates them because they are having a baby…a product of love! Doris (in a pretty fuchsia string neck halter) smiles as do Marisa and Wanda. Angel is flabbergasted and alight with joy as an ecstatic JE stares. Rebeca frowns and angrily walks off.

Alma thanks Elena for coming as Elena shares she would like to share in a mother-to-mother talk. Alma is glad to see JE and Angel back together and advises they never stop fighting for their love…they should be patient and listen to each other always; she wishes them the happiness they deserve. After Angel hopes Alma returns home, Alma just hopes God forgives her so she can join her Antonio and her beloved child. Alma thanks her hija Lupe for always taking care of her. “Te quiero tia” Lupe manages. Angel and JE take their leave, JE kissing Alma’s hands. After they leave Elena and Alma are left alone.

Javi tells Luciano that he and Mati were virtually prisoners; they could not go anywhere. Luciano is rightfully upset as Fatima puts her arm around him.

For the past few hours, I've been trying unsuccessfully to post the recap.

Blogger ate my part 2 and then I foolishly retyped part of it and now nothing else will publish.

I have reached out for help and will have it posted as soon as I am able.

Diana

Vivir. Thanks, Diana! I could tell you were persisting through difficulties. Well done, and I look forward to the rest of your recap.

Vivir

Dear Diana, so sorry you have been having challenges. I always appreciate the time, talent ,and effort you put into each and every recap. You are a treasure . Susan

Diana, relax! Blogger is having conniptions right now, playing games with its "luke" last night and doing weird things today.
For now we should be prepared for things to disappear or things to move around or whatever, until Blogger calms down.

They must be planning some small changes. Well, maybe, we will see.

Dear Diana, I too am looking forward.
But I am sorry you are dealing with this frustration on top of all you do to provide your daily gems!

VIVIR #103 Part 4

As she threatened, Romina files charges against Luciano for taking the children.

Lupe tells Lucas that the doctors give Alma little hope. When Sandra asks Lucas what is wrong, he explains and she gives him a comforting hug. Naturally, Mati materializes at that exact moment, wrongfully assuming Gabriel was right in saying that Lucas and Sandra are together.

Fatima tells the others that they are leaving to go to the hacienda. Don Emilio welcomes Luciano to the family with a warm hug and asks Luciano to always respect his granddaughter. “Por favor” Fatima smiles. Cris thanks Luciano for providing support to JE and Fatima as Adolfo smiles in the background.

Mati sees Brayan as memories of where she saw him come flooding back. She realizes it was he who she saw at the hospital and then at the video arcade. As Brayan approaches her, Lucas literally runs into her. Lucas tells Brayan he knows what he did to Mati and will not allow him to hurt her again. Brayan scathingly reminds him that he started this when he sent him to prison and he will not stop until Lucas pays for what he did to him. Brayan walks away as a worried Mati stands behind Lucas.

VIVIR #103 Part 5 of 5

Angel assures Lupe that her mother won’t upset Alma. When Angel asks if Alma ate or drank anything before collapsing, Lupe replies that Alma was probably eating her porridge since her cup was in pieces on the floor. Wanda adds that she threw the pieces away and asks Marisa to retrieve them. Lupe asks why they are so interested in the cup, and as JE and Angel exchange looks, JE suggests they wait for the test results.

Elena tells Alma that she always strived to make her girls happy but that unfortunate day changed their destinies since they both lost a daughter. Alma agrees; she suffered so much that she lost all reason. Elena shares that she would ask what she did to deserve such a punishment. Alma recalls when she found Frida; she only saw her daughter and wanted to hug her. She thought God had sent her to replace the daughter they lost. She loved her from the first moment she saw her…but Rebeca could never love them and was ashamed to have them as parents. Alma has flashbacks of Rebeca and closes her eyes in despair. When she asks Elena for forgiveness, Elena tells her that they have suffered a lot because of Rebeca…despite all the love and support they gave her. A crying Elena says she has changed and came to tell Alma that she is not resentful toward her. Alma, who literally looks as though she is at death’s door, cries and thanks her and tells Elena (again) she can now leave in peace to be with her departed husband and daughter.

Rebeca (having discarded her nurse’s garb), enters and chides Elena for forgiving Alma…she will not forgive Alma for destroying her life! Elena tells her to stop but to no avail. When Rebeca corrects that her name is “Frida” Elena tells her “no”, she lost her daughter many years ago and doesn’t think she will get her back.

After Elena leaves, Rebeca asks Alma what she told Elena, but Elena denies she said anything; Elena already knows how Rebeca is. Alma tells Rebeca that she is starting to be alone…she should repent or she will be alone forever. Rebeca scoffs that she doesn’t care because SHE is the victim. Rebeca continues her unforgiving barrage and Alma cries as she recalls Rebeca’s attack on Antonio…who didn’t deserve such maltreatment. “Why Rebeca why” Alma cries. Rebeca spews that she was not born bad to the bone (au contraire viewerville murmurs contemptuously), THEY made her like that. We see Alma’s head roll slightly to the side as she flatlines. Rebeca sits and doesn’t yet seem to comprehend that Alma has taken her last breath here on earth and has passed on.

Despite a schedule that would exhaust the most energetic person, mi amiga came through again with flying colors! Her dialog translations educated, soared and delighted. I am so, so grateful.

This is finally posted, thanks to Rgv Chick.

There are some repeated comments, but I think everything is there.

Have a good night

Vivir. Despite all the setbacks, you excelled Diana and friend! I can't get over how caring you are abut your readers and how incredibly conscientious. Again, thank you! And yep, it is finally dawn over Marblehead. I thought that some of the scenes in this episode were very moving, though they really dragged out Alma's death scene. I truly thought she was going to survive. So, elderly working-class people (especially if they have a side hustle as a fortune teller) have the power to detect pregnancies? Who knew? Angelli (accurately) thinks that Rebeca is responsible for Alma's condition--but of course Rebeca overhears. Romina accuses Luciano of kidnapping, but with the help of Adolfo I hope he gets her on child abuse and/or endangerment. Lucas confronts Brayan who threatens vengeance--but he will obey the restraining order. Once again, what a law-abiding felon! It's almost funny how he follows the rules. :)

VIVIR

Thank you so much SpanProf!

My friend and I work so hard on these recaps and then to have posting issues is very frustrating, I must admit. I thank you, Susan, Andy and Clara for your steadfast support. AND of course, Rgv Chick who always comes to the rescue...

"So, elderly working-class people (especially if they have a side hustle as a fortune teller) have the power to detect pregnancies? Who knew?" had me smiling in delight. Indeed!!

Alma dying made me very sad; she knew and accepted that what she did was wrong and sought forgiveness. I expect she will receive the same mercy that Elena showed her.

I loved the scene with Doris, her father and Gi. I almost teared up then as well.

I hope it's a safe bet that Adolfo ends up getting Luciano full custody of Mati and Javi. Romina did endanger the children by locking them in and overall, she has been indiffernt to the core.

Diana

Vivir

Thanks so much, Diana and friend, that was excellent. And thank you for working so hard to get your recap on the blog.

I loved the scene with Doris and Armando, and Gi looking so happy as she stands beside them.

I hated that Alma died but this is now a death on Rebeca’s hands. I hope they find that bottle in the trash. I just hope Rebeca doesn’t try to claim the house as hers!

Great scenes with Don Emilio and the kids.

I hope Lucas explains Sandra to Mati. I’d hate for her to go to the hacienda thinking Lucas and Sandra were a couple.

When Rebeca was inches away from JE and Angel in the hospital all I could think of were the two scenes in the village when they were so close and never saw each other. It’s amazing they both managed to reach adulthood, I’ve never seen anyone that unaware of what’s going on inches from them!

In spite of Alma dying this was a very good episode.

Liz

VIVIR

Liz, thanks so much.

"I loved the scene with Doris and Armando, and Gi looking so happy as she stands beside them". Me too! This trio is one of the many reasons I so enjoy this show.

"It’s amazing they both managed to reach adulthood, I’ve never seen anyone that unaware of what’s going on inches from them!" :)

This was a good episode, Don Emilio playing games with Mati and Javi was also a highlight for me.

I found this bittersweet with elements of hope. Sometimes, hope is all we have.

Diana

Vivir

Thanks Diana! Sorry you had so many issues, I wonder why blogger is so temperamental lately... either way, your recap is fantastic, as always! Reading about the reunion of Doris and papa through your lens was as sweet as watching it on screen! And I did tear up, not afraid to admit it.

Alma is dead, I was expecting it and still feel a little shocked!!! Nice that she got to reconcile with Elena first though.

Angel might want to get an actual pregnancy test, I mean the psychic said so isn't exactly the definitive proof I would want.

I agree with SpanProf, it's odd that Brayan is such a law-abiding felon but I kind of like the oddity, it makes him more interesting than the garden-variety two-dimensional thug character.

What will Beca do next? Doors are slamming shut all around her, but she is clever! I'm really curious to see what her next move will be. I hope she doesn't take the house from Marisa, but I could see that. Although she thinks she's too good for the barrio, so maybe not. I have a sneaky suspicion she'll manager to wiggy her way back into Elena's good graces one more time, it's too soon for her to be totally out in the cold. With 20+ episodes left to go she has to have a few more tricks left.

Ack, problems persist. I commented about an hour ago. Saw it posted, but it has disappeared.

Vivir

Diana and friend, a zillion thanks for crafting an excellent recap and soldiering on to post it despite a loco Blogger. You two are the best.

I'm so sorry to see Alma pass away. But she was ready to go and hopeful to be with her beloved Antonio. All the love she poured into Rebeca and seeing how evil she turned out broke her spirit.

I'm wondering if Elena is ever going to realize that Rebeca was always a bad seed, before the kidnapping.

I had an aunt with a sideline as a hairdresser who could tell if you were pregnant by a change in hair roots and thickness. So I'm totally buying the fortune teller's skills.

Vivir

Dear Diana and friend to us all, thank you for persisting and bringing us an excellent recap. Now I will try my luck at commenting and hope that it doesn't disappear.

I think that Alma knew that Reb put something into whatever she ingested. Reb only drops by to poison or torment , so I think Alma chose to leave his earth and join her beloved Antonio and the O.G . Rebecca.

Ha...both JE and Angel to Reb dressed in her magic nurse's uniform which made her invisible .

Don Emilio continues to charm us all with his kindness and youthful joy. Loved the marbles . He hasn't lost any of his. Must dash away now. Susan

VIVIR

Darcy, thank you so very much.

"Angel might want to get an actual pregnancy test, I mean the psychic said so isn't exactly the definitive proof I would want". Yes, me too! :)

Doris and Armando WERE moving!!

I fear you are right in that it's too early for Rebeca not to sleaze her way back into Elena's good graces. She is devious and I'm sure she will come up with another horrific plot or two.

Diana

Susan, thank you!

"I think that Alma knew that Reb put something into whatever she ingested. Reb only drops by to poison or torment , so I think Alma chose to leave his earth and join her beloved Antonio and the O.G . Rebecca" was great.

Everything was fine earlier with the original format. Just now, it reverted to the problematic version.

I hope I will be able to post later. If I am not, I will wait for help before I post the remaining parts of the recap so everything can be posted in sequence.

VIVIR #104 Part 1

Alma flatlines and departs from this earth. Rebeca heartlessly spews “you finally died!” …then despicably feigns tears and broken heartedness yelling “no, no, no, no” and “mami” as the doctor and nurse rush in, gently pulling her from her mother’s side.

Angel asks Elena how she is and Elena lies she is fine. As they leave, JE and Angel ask the gathered group to keep them posted on Alma’s condition. They tell Elena how good it was that she went to see Alma. Elena tells them that Rebeca arrived when she was there. She is beside herself as she cries that 20 years ago, she lost Frida and now she only has two children. She tells Angel she loves her and holds her close. Next, Angel smilingly tells her JE is also her son and soon she will have a grandchild! Elena smiles joyously as the three embrace and hug each other tightly.

Don Emiliano (arms around Cris and Javi) tells Luciano (Fatima by his side) to prepare himself because when daughters fall in love, the parents suffer with them. He advises that his granddaughter be truly in love with the person she selected. Fatima’s expression mirrors that her feelings are exactly so.

Odious Icky asks Bruno about Luciano and Bruno tells him Luciano is Romina’s ex. Icky smirks and laughs hideously and even Bruno has to shake his head as he walks away. (If only curiosity would kill the rat!)

In an unaired scene, Romina thinks Luciano is feeling comfortable as he is unaware she has reported him.

Adolfo warns Luciano that Romina’s attorney will probably strike soon. While they can’t accuse him of kidnapping, they can report him for failing to abide by custody order. When he advises what Luciano is doing is illegal, Luciano (rightly) argues that if the children stay with Romina, they will be in danger. If he doesn’t do this, the kids will have to return to their mother. Adolfo then tells Luciano that he has started proceedings to revoke Romina’s custody, but it will take time. Fortunately, they will be able to prove that the children being with Romina is extremely dangerous. He urges Luciano to record all conversations with Romina.

Icky can’t resist twisting the knife, telling Romina that he just saw her ex marido with Don Emilio’s granddaughter. He had “no idea” they had fallen in love and obviously VERY happy. Romina stares and shakes her head.

VIVIR #104 Part 2

Mati tells Lucas that Brayan took them home and she thinks the reprobates who peppered them with eggs were Brayan’s friends. Lucas then tells a dismayed Mati it was Brayan who stole from her father. He will be alert…and vows to protect her and asks she believe in him. At that moment, Sandra (in an adorable off the shoulder pink gingham checked and white blouse with puffed sleeves) approaches and assures Mati that she and Lucas are just friends. As she walks away, the misunderstanding is resolved as Mati and Lucas share many kisses.

Hands on her hips, pointing accusingly, Rebeca tells the doctors that they are idiots because they let her mother die. (If only they would file a defamation lawsuit I sigh) Lupe and Doris enter, Lupe clearly crushed.

Sandra runs into Luciano, Fatima and Javi. She tells Luciano that she likes living in the city…and gives him a letter for her father. Mati comes in and is folded into an embrace.

Lucas wonders how his aunt Alma is doing.

A bereft Lupe goes out in the waiting room and sadly informs the gatherers that Alma died.

Doris tries to comfort her ex-friend, telling Rebeca that she won’t leave her alone. Rebeca almost recoils but manages to stop herself. She recalls Angel saying that she will report Rebeca if Alma dies. Rebeca deviously muses that will NEVER happen…she will shut Angel’s mouth however she can!

Misael tells Bruno that something is going on with Rebeca. Misael is well aware of who Rebeca is and knows full well she is involved with something. He asks Bruno if he has talked to Romina but Bruno says he hasn’t; Romina is too wrapped up with her problems with the children.

VIVIR #104 Part 3

Luciano and the kids are happy to be home (foolishly) thinking nothing can happen to them there. Javi has fun hugging inanimate household objects voicing his pleasure in being back. Luciano tells Domingo that Sandra is doing very well. Hand on Domingo’s shoulder, Luciano shares his worries about Romina wanting to take back the kids and asks Domingo to be very vigilant.

Gabriel, lurking in the shadows, overhears that Mati has returned and plans to win her back…but the little weasel realizes he must first regain her trust.

Renato (wearing a black beaded necklace and medallion) goes with Jimena (in a lovely pink blazer with darker pink skirt) to check out a location for the pizzeria. Renato warns her that starting a new business will be difficult at first. After Jimena decides that location suits her Renato agrees with one condition: he wants to be their first customer. Jimena and David agree smiling delightedly.

Brayan gloats to his thugs that the device he planted on Mati worked and he knows she is at the hacienda; he will continue his plan of vengeance there. As they talk the name “Lucas” is heard loud and clear.

In another unaired scene, Luciano and the children have a cooking session. Mati asks Fatima not to eat until they finish.

Luciano calls Romina who is telling Bruno her lawyer informed her that what Luciano did was illegal and he could go to prison for years. Bruno casually brings up Rebeca and asks if she has told him anything. Romina won’t betray Rebeca and advises Bruno not to mess with Rebeca because she is CRAY CRAY!

Monica tells Rufino to follow Rebeca…he is to be her shadow.

Diana

VIVIR #104 Part 4

Rebeca’s lying words reverberate in Misael’s head as he calls himself an imbecile, cursing himself for thinking of her. Bruno shares Romina told him nothing and warns him not to trust Rebeca. Mi amiga advises me they then talk (dirty) business. They have a ghost company to steal and launder money!

In a cut scene that definitely deserved airing, Elena talks with her beloved Ulises, murmuring that it hasn’t been easy without him. She forgave Alma and now understands she wasn’t responsible for the darkness in her life. She is now trying to recover the life Rebeca stole from them. She tells him they are going to be grandparents and will tell the baby about him.

Santi tells JE and Angel that he will take care of their mother…they changed the locks. (I fear it will take more than locked doors to keep the specter of Rebeca out!)

At the wake, Marisa can’t believe Rebeca is there; her pretending sadness is utterly shameless. Doris thinks Rebeca is truly sad about Alma dying. (Ahh Doris, this is not the time to let a few false tears fool you!) Rebeca stands at the casket stoically. Lucas comes in and comforts Lupe. Wanda extends her condolences to Lupe. She then wonders (and worries) as to why Primitivo hasn’t come by (as viewerville also wonders where the heck he is).

Rebeca’s mood darkens further as a beautiful wreath arrives sent by JE and Angel. Rebeca feels everyone’s judgmental eyes upon her. Doris (streaks of red in her hair), approaches and asks what she expected since she has treated everyone so terribly, especially Alma. Marisa murmurs Rebeca only came to the neighborhood to do one of her devious, dastardly deeds.

As Larry and Curly look on, Brayan looks at pictures of the hacienda, salivating at what he sees as many possibilities regarding the robbery. Rebeca arrives and the henchies leave. She warns Brayan robbing the hacienda won’t be easy…but she is willing to help. Are you interested? Brayan seems to roll his eyes heavenward and makes a humming sound although we know he will capitulate.

Unaired, Fatima praises the cooks…and thinks they deserve a prize…time to resume their riding lessons. Luciano wants her to stay but Fatima knows Luciano needs to spend time with his kids.

VIVIR #104 Part 5 of 5

In bed with Angel, JE expresses grief at Alma’s death. Angel insists on reporting Rebeca but JE (foolishly) urges her to wait for the test results. Angel worries that the same thing could happen to her mother. JE then suggests that they think of themselves…and their baby. (Yes, but can’t they include Elena in those thoughts I add impatiently? She could well be the next victim). JE suggests a pregnancy test so they can be sure. They end up laughing and snuggling happily as he calls her “hermosa”. JE is very excited about the baby! As the kisses get more lingering and JE pulls the covers up over their heads, the camera pans to the floor.

Brayan knows Rebeca’s help comes at a price. Rebeca needs a gun and to shut someone up! In a flash (after waving of much cash), Brayan gives Rebeca a gun. She tells him not to let her down.

Angel tells JE that she has the pregnancy test. He tells her he will go to the restaurant so they can see the results together.

Video surveillance shows Rebeca walking down the hall at work. In her office, Rebeca tells Romina that if anyone asks, she is to say she is there. Rebeca then braids her hair, removes her gold jacket and puts a long beige tunic and Foster Grants. She leaves the office, the camera showing her in the hall, looking intently at her phone. She recalls overhearing that Angel is pregnant and broods that the baby should have been hers. JE rejected her just to be with Angel…who deserves nothing! As she walks outside, Rufino spots her.

Angel and Renato meet. She tells Renato that she doesn’t want to lose a chef or a good friend. Renato tells her that he feels better than he expected, he is content to see her happy and wishes her the best. As he leaves, Angel holds his hands in hers and thanks him with a hug. Chow he says. Angel is so excited and can’t wait to take the test! She quickly runs off.

Misael (Monica glued to his side) presents his felonious proposal to borrow money to save the company. Adolfo worries that if they are late with a payment, the interest is too high. Misael urges that they sign the contract. After Adolfo confirms that the contract is in order, Don Emilio wisely comments that while everything does appear to be in order, he still wants to show it to Cris and JE, much to Misael and Monica’s chagrin.

Angel takes the test and smiles at the results. She brings the test with her into the office and puts it in an envelope along with a note. She picks up the phone and calls about Alma’s results but at that moment, Rebeca walks in and disconnects the call. Angel tells her to leave; Rebeca agrees but Angel will go with her. She pulls out an outsize gun that would do Dirty Harry proud, brandishing it in Angel’s direction as Angel stares stunned.

Today’s exceptional, insightful dialogue translations shone brightly; all thanks to my incredibly giving, kind and very patient amiga. I am so grateful.

Clara, thank you for your nice words.

I just read your comment and thought it was fabulous.

"Her mom’s letter described Doris as “inquieta” (anxious, restless). I think mom said Doris had a big heart. Doris was the fruit of their great love (big smile from Doris here). When asking Armando to look out for her, mom said Doris had no one else" adds so much to our discussion and enjoyment of this long awaited father/daughter duo. No wonder Doris melted, ! would have also! I especially loved that she "was the fruit of their great love". If only every child came into the world under those circumstances.

And yes, Alma decided her time had come. As you noted, even sweet Pedrito could not dissuede her.

Vivir de amor

Diana, thanks for another great recap. Alma's passing was sad, but I think you managed to have a little fun afterwards, as with "Larry and Curly", and "Chow" says Renato the chef.

I give Doris credit for trying to "console" Becky after Alma died, but she confirms for us again that she is no brain trust and still doesn't realize just how evil Becky really is.
I still believe that Becky's mental illness, mentioned several times back when, will come into play one way or another.

I am not especially concerned for Primitivo. I certainly hope he wasn't killed and I think he was not. But this is a recurring bit in this novela, a lapse of several episodes while we wait for a development. As with Mauricio, as with Petra and Yadhira. Camera Team #2 is filming, but we won't see what they got until it's time.

Wow, was that ever a big gun Big Bad all-in-black Becky has! Even a silencer! Way to go Becky, break multiple laws with one gun!

I don't understand how or why Uni is cutting scenes while... oops! Diana, don't read the following! Wikipedia now says Vivir has 130 episodes!

I don't dare to read any farther.

Andy

Vivir. Oh thank goodness! I see the posting worked and things are back to your superlative normal, Diana and friend. Thank you guys so much for persisting. Yep, Rebeca's feigned grief is despicable. I hope Adolfo is a good enough lawyer to get Romina on child endangerment charges before the case against Luciana for disobeying a court order goes forward. I was very glad that the Mati-Lucas-Sandra misunderstanding was resolved so easily. It will probably turn out to be a good thing that Rufino is following Rebeca. Yep, where is Primitivo? I hope he survives. And maybe now Wanda will become interested in him. "Larry and Curly." Love it! Does that mean Brayan is Mo? I assume Angelli is pregnant since she seems happy after the test. After threatening Angelli with a gun and presumably kidnapping her (unless someone steps in in scene 1 of episode 105), I see no way Rebeca can escape jail. Will it be Rufino who saves Angelli or someone else?

Vivir
Thanks again Diana and querida amiga. 100 plus episodes in and your recaps just keep getting better and better, amazing!

Diana, I appreciate your going backwards to my mis-posted comment. Based on memory but I think Doris’s mom might also have said that Doris shared Armando’s big heart.

Old news and Alma is gone, but I wish Elena would have shared that Frida was a “bad seed” before Alma took her. Alma seemed to blame herself for Reb’s evilness, no wonder since Reb kept accusing her of destroying her life. Alma’s guilt weighed her down.

Rufino may observe something interesting to report to Monica, but I imagine hero JE will save Angel since he was planning to come at lunchtime for the test results.
Clara

Vivir. You're probably right, Clara. I just thought it might be more interesting if a bad guy (accidentally) thwarted someone else's bad action.

VIVIR

Andy, thank you for your always nice comment.

"Wow, was that ever a big gun Big Bad all-in-black Becky has! Even a silencer!" I readily admit I was mesmerized by that gun and I compledtely zoned out and if anything critical was said while Beca was waving it around, I didn't hear/notice. I should have realized it had a silencer but didn't; thank you so much for pointing that out. Scary!!!

"Camera Team #2 is filming, but we won't see what they got until it's time" had me smiling away. This TN does indeed put storylines on the back burner until they are ready to percolate :)

Despite her imperfect past, Doris does have a good heart. I'm sure her honest reaction was to believe Rebeca was indeed grieving. As you noted, she doesn't realize how evil Rebeca truly is. Sometimes our heart demands we believe even if our head warns us not to.

Andy, yes, Urban had warned us there were more than 125 episodes. It does appear that 130 is the definitive number. At least it was only 5 more than expected. :)

SpanProf, thank you for your lovely words.

"I hope Adolfo is a good enough lawyer to get Romina on child endangerment charges before the case against Luciana for disobeying a court order goes forward".Oh my, I do too!

You are exactly right in that Rufino following Rebeca is a good thing! I am wondering too as to how Angel will escape her tormenter. I hope this doesn't turn into a full blown kidnapping! We have too many episodes for this to be "Rebeca's last stand".

I actually had "Moe and Curly" as the two stooges but then thought for Misael's lustrous dark larks, he should probably be Moe :)

I'm laughing as to how Wanda and Primitivo can get together when he is still among the missing! I'm fairly sure he is alive though...

SpanProf, to be honest, two parts of my recap didn't post the first time I tried, but did the second (to my great relief). I think the system is still a bit unstable but hopefully this is the tail end.

Busy day so I am late to the party.
Dear Diana and friend to us all, thank you for every detail of this sad , frustrating episode.

Poor_Alma, A tragic figure who made some bad choices and suffered and paid for them . I am convinced that she was ready to leave earth . Reb was a bad seed even as a child , and I think Alma and Antonio were guilty of kidnapping but were moving parents . Reb 's relentless viciousness just finally made her give up on life . Amazingly , Elena left Alma alone with Reb , and Reb mercilessly verbally attacked her ....continuing even after Alma died. Reb is sick . She will either end up in prison, the manicomia , or dead .

That was quite a quick change Reb made in the office .Gala isn't a shy flower.

So...now Reb has a gun. Uh oh. Wouldn't it be a nice twist if bad guy Rufino somehow saved Angel from Reb ? Homelees,..but has a gun.Is she taking over Alma's house or bunking with Brayan? Does she have that car that she used to drive over Mau? Could she fit all those tacky clothes in it? So many questions.

What a good sport Renato is. Onward to the pizzeria and Jimena. #Chef Boy R U Hot. Susan

VIVIR

Thanks so much Clara!

"Based on memory but I think Doris’s mom might also have said that Doris shared Armando’s big heart". I will take any tidbit regarding Armando and Doris so thank you!

"Alma seemed to blame herself for Reb’s evilness, no wonder since Reb kept accusing her of destroying her life. Alma’s guilt weighed her down" was perfect.

I've made no secret of my bad memory but I'm wracking my brain to recall if there were any scenes from childhood that might have clued Elena into the fact Rebeca was evil/mentally ill. I remember a scene where Beca and Angel were in the kitchen with their father where it was made clear he was definitely dialed into Rebeca's not so nice nature. Still, I can't recall anything with Elena? If that isn't the case, please do share what I cannot remember.

Diana

VIVIR

Thank you for your supportive words Susan.

"#Chef Boy R U Hot" had me smiling away.

"Amazingly, Elena left Alma alone with Reb, and Reb mercilessly verbally attacked her ....continuing even after Alma died" was an excellent point. No peace even in death.

I just had a disturbing thought. Could it be at all possible Rufino sees Beca and Angel yet does nothing to intervene?? If Beca were to harm Angel, that would ensure she would be locked up and unable to do any further harm to Monica's baby boy. Let's hope JE rides to the rescue.

Diana

Vivir

Thank you, Diana, for another fantastic recap. A sad episode with Alma's death but some lighter moments it sounds like with JE and Angel celebrating their pregnancy - even before confirming it!!! Apparently, I psychic's word WAS enough for them! It's nice that Elena had something positive to think about...too bad we couldn't see her talking to Ulisis - and yes, I do mean too bad we didn't see Christian de la Campa! (sigh)...

I'm glad Mati knows who Brayan is now, she's going to need to be aware. She's back at the hacienda and in danger from both Brayan and stupid Gabriel, who needs to get over it!!!

Becky with a gun would be a little scarier if we didn't know that Angel will surely be alive and well at El Fin. I agree that it would be awesome if Rufino did the unexpected and came to the rescue! Or if Angel rescued herself!!!

Vivir
Diana, you have caught me making the unfair assumption that Elena was aware Frida was rotten as a 4 year old. All I remember is Frida being nasty to her younger sister in the park with the doll before they were taken. Doesn’t really qualify as bad seed behavior.
Clara

VIVIR

Darcy, thank you so very much.

"It's nice that Elena had something positive to think about...too bad we couldn't see her talking to Ulisis - and yes, I do mean too bad we didn't see Christian de la Campa! (sigh)..." ahhh, I feel your pain! So handsome and a true galan!

Gabriel is the annoying gnat that just won't go away. I was thinking though that as he's always lurking in the shadows, he might prove to be helpful if Brayan or his thugs make a move on the hacienda.

Diana

VIVIR

Clara, you might well be right that Elena was aware of Rebeca's bad nature but I just can't remember any specific instance of seeing that occurring :)

Diana

Vivir
Not much to add that hasn't been said already. I was surprised JE and Angelli told Elena she was having a grandchild when A admitted it was still pretty early to tell. At least she got the pregnancy test. That was some black lace chamise Reb was wearing under her gold lamé jacket. Jog my memory, did any of the barrio crowd ( I was shocked how many were in the waiting room)save the pieces of Alma's broken mug?

VIVIR

Kat, in answer to your question as to what happened to Alma's broken mug, this is from Tuesday's recap:

"When Angel asks if Alma ate or drank anything before collapsing, Lupe replies that Alma was probably eating her porridge since her cup was in pieces on the floor. Wanda adds that she threw the pieces away and asks Marisa to retrieve them".

I don't believe we saw her pick them up though...

I haven’t watched this yet and probably will watch this and tomorrow’s episode tomorrow night. Can’t decide whether to read it first, but since I usually watch first I’ll probably just go to bed now. I’m sure it’s another excellent recap and looking forward to reading after the show tomorrow. Family in town today and tomorrow. Since they all went to bed I better too. Don’t want them twiddling their thumbs waiting for me to wake up!

VIVIR

Hola, Patio.

Thanks Diana (recap/soldiering on) and Patient Non-Zero (dialog translations). Blogger can be enough to send even the kindest soul to a manicomio so kudos for maintaining your sanity and your precious recaps. Gold medals for: bereft, CRAY CRAY, specter, Larry & Curly, long beige tunic and Foster Grants, and outsize gun.

Alma’s swan song was sad but avoidable. I guess that’s pretty easy for me to say as I’ve never suffered multiple assassination attempts. Big Reb wore her down. C’mon, Anvil!

Chismoso Icky makes me laugh. Hate the character, love the actor. The icing on the cake = he’s tormenting Bruno AND Romina. After talking mad trash to Romina, he takes leave by telling her someone around here has to work. Smooches!

Speaking of talking trash, it was utterly ridiculous for Rebeca to badmouth Alma’s attending doctors. I was hoping someone would come in with toxicology reports and shut that evil heifer up!

Future cheerleader Javi shone again this episode. I got a kick out of his happy homecoming - hugging and kissing the furniture. Poor kid. I hope learning that his mother is a scheming scalawag doesn’t crush his innate joyous spirit.

Ugh. I thought we were done with Tiger Beat. I guess the 3O+ remaining episodes aren’t going to fill themselves. Ugh.

Brayan and his cronies trying to make the phrase “¡Bazuca!” happen is becoming as grating as Bruno’s tattoos. ¡Basta con “Bazuca!”

I almost fell off the couch when I read there was a cut scene with Ulises. This is a crime against telenovelas. A crime against all things beautiful. This is sheer bloody treason for all Christian de la Campa fans. ::shakes fist at Univision::

Today marked the return of the series’ most consistent couple to date: Mónica and her old-fashioned glass. Although she didn’t bless us with any of her patented Mónica’s Musings, she DID use an exotic phrase she’s been using a lot lately: ¿Capisce? I guess Joker (and Rufino) like to dabble in Italian.

Santi protecting the house/Elena is as laughable as Romina being nominated for Mother of the Year! What’s he going to do? Challenge Reb/Intruders to a game of Texas Hold ‘Em? Oh. I forgot he cooks now. What’s he going to do? Challenge Reb/Intruders to a bake off? NEXT!

I’m glad the barrio noticed Primitivo is missing in action! I hope they don’t prolong his abuse/torture, and he’s back with Wanda and Pedrito (and his trusty cleaver) soon.

I don’t know much about flowers, so I mistook what you called a “beautiful wreath” as a garish homecoming float festooned with sashes indicating Angeli and Jose Emilio were sending their condolences. Is this proper wake etiquette/accoutrement in Mexico?

Smooth Operator Brayan actually made me laugh when he greeted Rebeca with “You ain’t Google, but you have everything I’m searching for.” Ha! What a romantic. Restraining Order Observer Brayan told Rebeca he’s not planning on robbing the hacienda. I think his main goal is Mati, and now Big Reb has offered to help him! dun Dun DUN!

Since when does Rivero Cuéllar, Inc. have surveillance cameras. Not.Subtle.At.All. Rebeca’s disguise/Cloak of Invisibility was as ridiculous as her nurse’s outfit one murder ago. Everything is in place: Crazy’s Got A Gun, Brayan and Rufino are watching and waiting, JE’s on his way, and Ang’s has conveniently left her EPT behind. What will happen next?!!

VIVIR

O.S., thank you for your kind and supportive words.

Once again your wry and hysterical comments have delighted and uplifted.

"Scheming scalawag", "Basta con “Bazuca!”, "Joker (and Rufino) like to dabble in Italian" were among golden nuggets strewn throughout.

"I mistook what you called a “beautiful wreath” as a garish homecoming float festooned with sashes indicating Angeli and Jose Emilio were sending their condolences" was gold. When you put it that way :)

This made my day:"Chismoso Icky makes me laugh. Hate the character, love the actor. The icing on the cake = he’s tormenting Bruno AND Romina. After talking mad trash to Romina, he takes leave by telling her someone around here has to work". Just inspired.

Last but not least, "Santi protecting the house/Elena is as laughable as Romina being nominated for Mother of the Year!" You nailed it! Completely absurd...

The stage is set for more madness and mayhem. Bring it on!

Super job, Diana and friend. "She pulls out an outsize gun that would do Dirty Harry proud," - ha!

Rebeca is truly nuts now. If she shoots Angel, even the do-little detective would have Rebeca as her No. 1 suspect.

My favorite scene was Mati realizing who Bryan is. I think these teen actors are doing a good job.

JE annoys me. Ya know you can think about two things at once -- the baby AND what happened to Alma. Rebeca always has the upperhand because she's always thinking ahead. But not this "galan."

VIVIR

Thank you Niecie.

"JE annoys me. Ya know you can think about two things at once -- the baby AND what happened to Alma. Rebeca always has the upperhand because she's always thinking ahead. But not this "galan." That is an excellent and very true point. She is also flexible and when one of her onerous plans is thwarted, she seamlessly goes to "Plan B". Unfortuntely, JE is too rigid and short sighted.
