Thought I'd paste in my comment from Page 1 since I raised a question. Did Devin sign the prenup?
Wow, like in baseball, we got a triple. Thanks to Niecie, Juanita, and dondi for all the great descriptions.
Hulya clearly wants Cihan there to mess with the wedding. Maybe she'll slip him of the alcohol Aslan forbade to get him talking about his new therapist.
From what we've seen of Hulya's relationship with her eldest, it looks like his initially being refused entry to the birthday party for his dead father wasn't only about his supposedly not preventing his father's suicide (or murder). I suspect it will take them a while to explain her feelings about Cihan.
I loved hearing the real Turkish music in the street instead of a sappy ballad.
I know loyal servants are common in both telenovelas and dizis, but after my admittedly small sample size, I think Turkish servants go above and beyond. Eko seems terrified about having kissed Yagmur.
Yep, those were vicious throws of the traditional good luck message from Mommy Dearest. And Devin seemed taken aback at the outset. Is she unfamiliar with this tradition?
So, I have a big question. Niecie said that Devin agreed to the prenup if she kept her name. I don't remember that. Just that she said she'd marry him if he agreed to that, and he did. Are we sure she signed the prenup? I thought not and wondered when this would raise its head.
“What was up with Emo handing bills to Yadmur one at a time before she let him into the apartment?” That’s part of the “Gelin Alma” – Taking the Bride. The car caravan, the band playing, dancing in the street. Bride’s family is “sad” to see her go, so the door gets “stuck”. Payment opens the door.
Devin wrote her prenup on the back of Aslan’s. She tore that piece off to show him. She never signed anything. Keeping her name was her only condition. Aslan agreed. And now they are getting married. We’ll see if it really happens. Too many things can go wrong.
I can’t wait to meet Nedret, too. She’s played by Ayda Aksel, our Azize from Hercai.
Dondi, thanks for the information. I thought Hague was just trying to get cash for herself.
Oh boy, Azize from Hercai was fierce. It will be interesting to see her interact with Stonefaced large and in charge Hulya. Susan
Serenay Sarıkaya won the award for "Best Foreign Actress" (Best Actress in a Non-Spanish Series) for her role in the series "Aile / The Family" at the 2024 PRODU Awards, considered the most important television awards event in Latin America.
The dizi was also nominated and so was Kıvanç.
Kat in SC: The remote of my TV got fried (basically shot), so it'll have to be replaced. Until that's fixed, I won't be able to do recaps: temporary solution at the moment.
Can you do the recap of last night's episode please ? Thanks.
Steve, recap will have to wait til baby's nap time. I haven't watched it yet. I prefer Juana la virgin which airs at the same time so I watch this the next day. Good luck with your remote.
Cihan gets ready for the wedding. Aysel mocks the napkin invitation. I feel sorry for you, she tells him, you were your late father’s favorite and look at you now.
Edit: Pre ceremony. Hulya introduces Devin to her society friends. One says Hulya spoke so sweetly about her and she’s lucky to have such a MIL. Another says it’s not easy to be a bride of the Soykans. Hulya responds that Devin already knows what the surname brings. That’s when Devin drops the bomb, she’s keeping her name. Hulya pulls her lawyer aside and asks if it is possible for a woman to keep her name after marriage. Yes, an application to the court.
Ezgi helps Devin get ready for the wedding ceremony. Dani and Ilkay come into the room. Devin expects around 100 people to attend. But we see Ibo has bused in lots of people from their village.
Aslan isn’t happy about the buses. And he has words with Ibo about who’s protecting the family. Ibo gives Aslan a wedding present—a gun. [it looks like a cheap plastic fake to me.] Ibo starts to talk about Ati but Aslan doesn’t want to discuss business.
Devin and Ilkay have been watching Aslan and Ibo from the window. Ilkay warns her as a friend who cares that she will regret this marriage. Once you are a part of this family, you’ll never get out. Devin ignores this and walks out of the room.
Once again, Eko tries to tell Aslan about Yagmur, but they are interrupted.
Eko takes Aslan’s gift gun inside and crosses paths with Yagmur. He sort of blows her off.
Eko enters Aslan’s room and Devin is there. She tells him to leave the box with the gun on a table. Eko leaves and Devin inspects the gun. Aslan enters the room. He tells her she looks beautiful. The gun. He assures her he doesn’t use guns. She seems to accept this. [I’m amazed a how quickly she gets past all these red flags.] They head to the ceremony.
Cihan shows up. He greets the family. He kisses Seher’s hand. Hulya freezes him out. Ceylan and Leyla welcome him. He looks at the place card with his name. [will he have it framed along with the napkin invite?]
The bride and groom arrive for the ceremony. The crowd applauds. Not Hulya. Devin looks at Aslan, how will this turn out? He replies, we’re in for a fight. Are you ready? She holds out her hand.
Yagmur and Eko are the witnesses. The officiant asks and the couple answers with their “I do’s”. Witnesses confirm. Everyone signs the book. Aslan lifts Devin’s veil and kisses her forehead.
Reception line and bride and groom are pinned with gifts of paper money and gold coins. Yagmur spots Ceylan pocket a coin. She sidles up to Ceylan and says, I’m Yagmur Akin, come find me later. I think we will get along great.
Seher asks Hulya to help her over to the bride and groom. Seher takes a ring off her finger. It’s a ring that her MIL gave her. With Hulya next to her, she tells Devin that up to now, she never had anyone to give it to. Seher puts the ring on Devin’s finger. Devin thanks her. Hulya smirks. Seher refuses Hulya’s help to get back to the table. LOL. She just wanted Hulya to witness this.
Cihan approaches Aslan. Hulya watches. He holds up a tesbih (prayer beads). These were given to me by dad at my circumcision. You were young and probably don’t remember. It’s something befitting a Soykan and it should be yours. He places it in Aslan’s hand – “Allah’in mesut etsin”, may God bless you. He hugs Aslan who doesn’t look thrilled.
Cihan turns to Devin and introduces himself as Aslan’s older brother. Nice to meet you, she replies. They shake hands. May God bless you, he says. Both Aslan and Hulya are keeping a close eye.
Aslan grabs Cihan before he goes. He says, you promised me. Yes, Cihan answers, but I already let you down. Uh oh.
Good grief, Eko tries to tell Aslan about Yagmur yet again but chickens out.

Other song at the wedding:
Kesik Çayır/Cut Meadow - Bedia Akartürk (different singer from the dizi)

Leyla gives Devin her support on the name issue. Yagmur dedicates a song to her sister and sings. Wow, they kept the Turkish song!
Sen Benim Şarkılarımsın/You Are My Songs - Ajda Pekkan (different singer from the dizi)

Hulya tells Cihan that she knows he’s been seeing Devin for therapy. You can tell Aslan now or after the wedding, she says, the choice is yours. But Aslan will learn of you lies this evening. Then he will do what he wants with all of you. You will pay the price for doing things behind Aslan Soykan’s back.
Cihan is stunned. Mom, you came to my business and told me about Devin. I went to see her. Your plan worked perfectly. You invited me to this, right? Your dear Aslan decided to marry a girl you didn’t like and you’re teaching him a lesson. I’ll tell him, mom, I always do what you ask. I’ll walk over there and confess everything. Is that what you want?
Hulya remains silent. She doesn’t even look at Cihan. Cihan continues, you love a good scandal but this time, more people will get hurt. Aslan is a part of it now. Look at what you’ve done to him. He hasn’t looked like that since before dad died (Aslan looks happy). Pretend to be blind, but I know you. Didn’t you consider Aslan would be crushed after you carried out your plan? If you want to kill your son today, I’ll do what you ask.
Hulya watches the bride and groom dance. I think Cihan’s words are getting to her, but she remains silent. He’s only 5 steps away, Cihan says, he’ll find out after those 5 steps. I swear I’ll tell him. You decide mom.
Cihan walks over to the newlyweds. He turns to look at Hulya. Hulya stares straight ahead. Cihan watches her for a moment, then walks away in disgust. Hulya takes out her phone and looks at the pics of Cihan at the Devin’s office. She goes to delete them, then changes her mind.
The reception continues. Nese is drunk and Yagmur helps her out. Cihan is drunkenly dancing around, knocking into others. Alsan asks Isko to remove his bro, quickly and quietly Cihan resists.
Ati is looking at footage of Ibo mistreating him in his own office. He’s steaming.
Yagmur puts Nese in a cab. She spots Eko talking to his new canine friend outside. She listens. He tells the dog, my love for Yagmur is as loyal as a dog’s. [lol, how romantic.]
Ibo comes over to Hulya. Kemal (the guy she shot in the leg) sends his regards, Ibo says, he couldn’t come because he can’t walk. Hulya smiles. Ibo continues, [Turkish] it’s easy to count on Aslan and shoot people in the leg. Can you do the same after he leaves home? Hulya replies, Aslan Soykan isn’t going anywhere. He’s the head of the family. Don’t forget.
Ibo scoffs, the family? What kind of family is that? We see Cihan dancing out of control. It’s been a long time since the family split, he says, accept it. Aslan’s obsession to clean the business won’t save you either. You’ll find yourself surrounded by sharks that smell blood in the water. This is just the beginning. I have a responsibility to protect you--my mother, nieces and nephews, and you. Hulya warns, if your dogs come back, I will shoot them. This time in the head.
Eko continues his conversation with the dog. Yagmur continues to eavesdrop. This girl turned out to be Devin’s sister, he says. I have the greatest luck in the world. What am I supposed to tell Aslan? Sorry, Aslan, I’m in love with your SIL? I could never…
Yagmur enters the convo here. Never? Eko springs to his feet and faces Yagmur. He stutters, Yagmur… Yagmur Hanım… I didn’t mean any of that. Actually, I did. I can’t lie to you. You should have told me you were Aslan’s SIL. I don’t know if I still would’ve kissed you.
Isko tries again to remove Cihan from the dance floor. He can’t. Aslan says keep an eye on him but if he gets violent, drag him out. Cihan knocks into a guy a few times and the guy looks like he’s about to start something. Another guy holds him back, saying, he’s (Cihan) drunk as usual. He’s “cibiliyetsiz”. [Uh oh, the magic word.]
Cihan headbutts the guy he knocked into, not the one who commented. Anyway, a fight breaks out. Aslan hurries all the ladies off the dance floor and proceeds to join in the fight. Notice Tolga not participating. He’s on his phone.
Aslan grabs Turgut’s gun and fires a couple of shots into the air. Yagmur and Eko hear the shots from outside. He tells her it’s celebratory. It’s tradition.
The fighting stops and Aslan grabs Cihan. Stop! How many times did I tell you not to ruin this? Stay out of my life! He orders his guys to escort Cihan out. Devin just stares at Aslan. Guests file out.
Eko explains to Yagmur, Aslan is like a brother to me, he’s family. How do I tell him I’m in love? Yagmur kisses Eko.
Aslan gets a text from Ati. Congratulations. I couldn’t make it to the wedding, but your gift is outside. Aslan orders Turgut and Isko—outside! The rest of the family follows them out. There’s a wreath at the gate from Atilla Ozyilmaz.
Yagmur and Eko continue kissing outside the gate. Eko notices a guy on a motorcycle drive up. He pushes Yagmur aside. The guy has a gun. Before Eko can get his gun out, he’s shot. The guy gets away. Yagmur cries. Devin stares in shock.
They get Eko to the hospital. The whole family goes along. Devin is still in shock. [She should be used to this by now.] Aslan’s hands are bloody. He walks past Devin and hugs his mother! She worries, what will we tell Nezaket if something happens to Ekrem? Aslan tells her not to worry, everything will be fine. She asks him to find whoever did this. Aslan nods.
Devin looks incredulous. Aslan walks right past Devin again. [yes, Devin, you married this guy.] A note is handed to Isko, who hands it to Aslan. [Turkish] “I will not sit on anyone’s lap, my friend. I wish you and your wife endless happiness.” - Atilla Ozyilmaz.
Ibo asks Aslan for updates. Aslan hands him the note. That SOB, Ibo growls, here’s a headline for his paper, “The Soykan Family Dug my Grave”.
Aslan gets word the DA has arrived.
Devin stands up as Aslan walks by. Aslan… Aslan? He barely acknowledges her. Aslan goes off to speak with the DA. Devin is left standing there.
Devin goes out for air. She thinks Aslan has come after her, but it’s Hulya. I spoke to Aslan, Hulya says, you’ll be staying at the estate for a while. Get your things and Turgut will drop you off later. Hulya looks at the blood on Devin’s dress. Welcome to the family, dear daughter in law.
And we are out.
Thanks very much, dondi, for this splendid recap of a disturbing episode in what is apparently going to be a grim dizi. You've said several times that dizis don't always have happy endings. La Familia increasingly seems like an example. Sigh.
[warning: I feel a rant coming on] For a while, it seemed like Aslan and Devin, though occasionally peculiar, were in love and were trying their best not to let their screwed-up families ruin their happiness. However, after watching this episode, I'm afraid that Aslan may be as damaged as the rest of the Soykans. I'm still not sure about Devin. So far the only troubling thing about her is that she continues to love Aslan--Aslan, who very shortly after their marriage, walks past Devin, ignoring her twice and, the second time, going over instead to embrace his godawful mother.
Perhaps part of the problem I'm having stems from the acting of Kivanç Tatlitug. Apparently he has won much acclaim for his acting, but in this dizi he seems to have just two facial expressions--an enigmatic blank stare and a smile. I am enjoying the acting of Serenay Sarikaya, who plays Devin. It seems much more varied and nuanced, but IMHO it's not enough to compensate for the artistic limitations of her co-star. [OK, rant over. Whew!]
Alfredo is insists proof of life before giving the ransom for Ana. The false kidnapper is willing to send an ear, or an eye, etc...fern says she's sure they will kill her if he doesn't pay. Elisa calls the guy back and I think she is going to pay it somehow. (Must be nice to have a spare 1.5 million laying around.)
Marcelo is introduced to Ana by Frank/Emilio.
Ah, Elisa is going to sell her shares in the company to pay the ransom. Roberto of course is against that.... Alberto is talking to the police, I think, to follow his wife when she makes the money drop. The False kidnapper calls her and says if it's a trap he'll implicate her.
Brenda is pregnant. Now she hopes Daddy will back off on demanding she gets a divorce and move back home, and he won't disinherit her. He is less than thrilled at the news.
Now Fern is working on Gabriel. The better part of your inheritance in the firm will come your way if your siblings disappear. ( I bet Alonso would be first on his list).
Ana recalls to Marcelo the events of her mother's death, and how Fern tried to choke her then after that waking up in the awful sanitarium and being drugged for ten years. Frank tries to calm her.
Claudia asks questions about Fermin's new friends that makes him believe Erica spilled the beans. He chews her out on the phone and she looks a bit sorry.
Tania is happy Marcelo is back. They have a date.
I think Alf and Rob have plans to follow the kidnapper and recover the money.
Seb and Elisa are sorry they treated Fern so badly. They are glad she is trying to get Ana back.
Fern and Alf argue. If there is a repeat of last night she will charge him with rape. She has the right to say no even if they are married. She may have threatened to emasculate him too, but I'm not sure I caught that right.
Tania once again gets it on with Alonso like a bad drug and she obviously hates herself for it. ( I'm now hoping Ana becomes Marcelo's love interest, Tania does not deserve him).
In a. Funny scene Claudia pulls out the lacy panties and asks Brenda if she is missing them.
Seb proposes to Moni.
Alf gives Fern a pretty diamond necklace as a peace offering.
Emilio is going to pay off all Fermin and Erika's debts. He owes them for looking out for his grandmother (Not sure if they own there house or rent it, lower interest rates were mentioned so perhaps they are saving to buy).
She said yes( (Moni).
Awkward lunch date between Manuel and Tania. He says she can tell him anything. She is so ashamed.
Brenda and Gabriel talk. She tells him she told her dad she was pregnant, but I looks like she isn't yet because Gabriel asks what if the IVF doesn't work. Shell claim she lost it if that happens. BTW, did you know your dad has a half brother? Gabriel looks thunderstruck.
Patty has to spill her gossip to her sisters...
Tanya tells Marcelo about Alonso. He asks if she loves him, she says no but he has some sort of dominant hold over her she can't explain. His advice is for her to get professional help, he isn't the man for it living in another country.
Fermin and Frank talk. Frank just can't figure out if Fern is guilty of if it was Beltran. I think Frank feels sleeping with Fern will give him the answers. I don't think Fermin believes it is a good idea. If your grandma was killed by her can you actually do it?
False alarm, the gossip actually is that Fern is going to give Patty her cast offs.
I guess Mirna is Fern's unpaid psychologist. She gets to hear all of Fern's psychotic ravings. She wants to torch the entire del Pino family. (Have I mentioned she is a pyromaniac?)
Fern is off to make the money drop. She steals half of it and puts in her bag. Yup the police are tailing her.
Marcelo and Emilio discuss Tanya. He is mad. She let the guy use her. Emilio says he obviously cares for her or it wouldn't hurt so much. I think he wants him to keep trying with her.
Fern dumps the sack of money. She tells her hired guy she can't talk, she is with the police . She is actually meeting Mirna. She has the 1.5 million in her bag. I guess I missed something. Did she exchange counterfeit money into the bag she dumped?
Gabriel is asking Alfredo if he has a half brother. I told you I don't, Alfredo claims
Emilio invited Seb, Elisa and their partners to dinner.
Alonso is beating his chest about his prowess and attributes to Marcelo in regards to Tanya.
Mirna has to keep Fern's money safe. She brings it back to the store.
So the bag of money is full of newspaper....I'm not quite clear what Fern explains about that.

I posted this on the previous page by mistake, so here it is again:
Wonderful recaps and comments! I am also feeling fondness for Leyla and hope she finds some happiness!
IIRC, there was a very traditional wedding at the beginning of La hija del embajador (Sefirin Kizi). The groom went to the bride’s house on horseback where a festive crowd gathers as he “tries” to gain entrance. The bride’s brother won’t open the door until many bills are given by the groom. I think that the festive crowd in the street in La familia was a modernized version of this custom where the groom had to pay for the door to be opened.
Thanks again for the excellent recaps, etc. Yes, it was thrilling to hear Turkish music.
Babachita
Dondi, Thank you for the name Gelin Alma! A lot of money changes hands with weddings! So many fascinating customs!
Babachita
Kat in SC: The twists & turns keep coming with this Telenovela. Excellent job on your recap of last night's episode.
39.) How STUPID are the del Pino's ? Don't they realize that Crazy Goldie Locks is destroying them all one-by-one & looting ALL of their billions ?
40.) Tania is an IDIOT: Addicted to Slick Alonso, who will violently beat her sooner or later.
41.) Elisa offering to pay the "ransom": Good luck with that young lady.
42.) Francisco/Emilio introducing Marcelo to Ana. Let's pray that Ana stays alive throughout the entire Telenovela & gets a happily ever after.
43.) Gabriel being manipulated again by Goldie Locks in getting bigger inheritance if all of his siblings have tragic deadly ends: We all know Ana is still in danger. #ProtectAna #StopGoldieLocks
44.) Alfredo giving Goldie Locks a diamond necklace as a peace offering: OMG. Is he bloody STUPID & gullible ?
45.) Claudia & Erika are ANNOYING & putting Francisco/Emilio in danger with their bloody BIG MOUTHS. I also don't like Patty either.
46.) Fermin should join the Marines or something after all of this mess is over.
47.) Sebastian: The gullible baby brother of the del Pino family: Dude has no idea that Goldie Locks has devious plans in busting up his relationship with Monica courtesy of Slick Alonso.
48.) Not shocked that Brenda is PREGGERS (thanks to her sex escapades with Slick Alonso). Busted out laughing at your reference of Daddy Ferrero NOT being happy: I'm like "Old Jackass. That's your future grandkid you're trashing".
49.) We need to see more of Mooching Roberto's family because I've got to think he's part of a bigger conspiracy to destroy the del Pino's.
50.) Busted out laughing at Claudia pulling out Brenda's panties & asking Brenda if she's missing them LOL.
51.) Once again: #ProtectAnaAtAllCosts
Gracias, Dondi. Amazing storytelling.
I'm wondering if Devin could get a quickie annulment. I'm betting she will refuse to move into the mansion, and I do believe Hulya lied when she said Aslan told her to convey this to Devin. I don't believe he'd have his mom as a go-between.
I'm totally buying that Devin and Aslan are in love and in denial about what they're up against, but why the hell does Aslan not even check on Devin and instead head straight to momma? Juanita, I appreciate your rant! Grrrh!
Glad to hear, from Ibo, that Aslan is obsessed with cleaning up the business though.
So who shot Eko and why? Surely Ati isn't nuts to be behind this.
Fantastic recap, dondi. I so appreciate the descriptions and background information you provide. Great comment: "She should be used to this by now."
Cihan is a complete cipher to me. I was gob smacked that he went to Devin's office asking for sessions at the behest of his mother.
Oh boy. A gun for a wedding present. While dondi thought it looked like plastic, maybe my smallish TV fooled me. I thought it had gold trim and was significant to Aslan, almost a treasure.
I don't necessarily like giving characters nicknames. But, after all the shots of Hulya's face during the ceremony, she could definitely be called Sourpuss.
I wondered about what the officiant said. Do Turks say the whole thing about for better or worse, etc., or was that the Spanish version of what they thought people should say for their wedding vows?
Wow! The skill with which these people stick metaphorical knives in each other's backs is amazing. Seher, yes, got Hulya to walk her up so Hulya could see the gift of the mother-in-law ring and the pointed comment of not having anyone up until now to give it to.
Per dondi, the actress who played Azize in Hercai will appear at some point. But the Hulya actor is giving her a run for her money as devious, twisted older woman (until Azize reformed, that is).
I thought the sudden falling into love of Eko and Yagmur was a bit more telenovelalike than often seen in dizis.
So...do we think there'll be a wedding night consummation?
Dondi, thank you for bringing us every moment. I always love your style and insights.
I was shocked that my favorite character was shot. At least, the dog was unharmed . I hope someone takes over the care of that sweet pup.
I've been at some pretty wild wedding receptions , but none as wild as this one.
novelera, Sourpuss is a fitting name for unsmiling mama.
I think Ati had Eko shot. These people are crazy violent.
Is Asian going to team up with Cihen and Ibo for revenge ? Susan
Babachita, yes, I'll bet Azize from Hercai will be the snake that wasn't invited to the wedding !! That should create some fireworks with cranky Hulya . susan
Thanks everyone.
“[warning: I feel a rant coming on]” Rant all you like, Juanita, we are here for you. I hear you about Kıvanç. I’ve seen him in enough dizis and movies to form an opinion. He’s okay, kind of hit or miss with his work. I think some of the “acclaim” he receives is because of his good looks, not so much his acting skills. I have a higher opinion of Serenay. A lot depends on the chemistry of the pairings.
The Soykans are mafia, so I expect psycho. It’s Devin that really gets to me. I can’t fathom how she takes all this Soykan crap from Hulya and Aslan. Is it like Nese said, does she need to be around people worse off than she is? Is she a masochist?
Black sheep Cihan. Is he getting a raw deal from the family? I can’t wait to hear more of his stories. I’m a fan of Nejat İşler. I’m loving him as Cihan.
Babachita, I fondly remember “Embajador”. I recapped that on the Uni patio. Sancar took Menekse but not before he paid her brother, Necdet. There are some differences between a village wedding and one in Istanbul, but basic traditions remain.
“I'm wondering if Devin could get a quickie annulment.” Based on past performance, Niecie, she will automatically forgive her crazy husband. “So who shot Eko and why? Surely Ati isn't nuts to be behind this.” They could be setting Ati up as a red herring.
novelera, legal Turkish weddings are civil ceremonies. And they are short. Devin and Aslan’s ceremony was typical. This is the Turkish translation: “Dear guests, we are here to marry Aslan Soykan and Devin Akin. [guests applaud.] Devin Akin, do you agree to take Aslan Soykan as your husband, of your own free will, without anyone’s pressure, in sickness and in health, for the rest of your life? Devin answered, “evet” – yes. The same thing was said to Aslan, and he answered, “ediyorum” – I do. The witnesses were asked, do you witness? They said evet. Bride, groom, and witnesses sign the book, and the officiant gives the bride the wedding certificate.
Posts on social media: “Soykan’s Bloody Wedding”. Isko has contacted Lawyer Cagri.
Yagmur blames herself for what happened to Eko. If she hadn’t kept him outside with her… Devin tells her it’s not her fault.
A doctor brings good news—a successful surgery. Eko is in stable condition. Aslan tells Turgut to take Devin and Yagmur and watch them tonight. Yagmur objects. She wants to stay at the hospital because Eko should have someone by his side. Devin doesn’t like the idea, but Aslan is okay with Yagmur staying.
Devin and Aslan stand outside the hospital, looking more like two strangers rather than a couple married only hours ago. Aslan looks over at her and asks, are you okay? She comes out of her fog—pardon? I asked if you were okay, he replies. She says yes, she’s okay, but do we believe her? Turgut brings the car around and she gets in. [wow, what a scene.]
Aslan looks at Ati’s note. He’s got revenge on his mind. He arrives with his crew at Ati’s office. They blow right past security, setting off alarms. A woman tells Aslan that Ati is not available, she will relay a message. No, Aslan replies, I’ll tell him personally.
Aslan goes into a conference room. He pours a bottle of alcohol over the conference table. He takes out the note, sets it on fire and drops it on the table. Message delivered.
Meanwhile, Isko flashes his phone to the workers and asks, who wrote this? The writer speaks up. It was per Atilla Bey’s orders. Isko shows him a court order—delete the post. Now.
Aslan and crew leave, and panic breaks out among the workers. There’s smoke! Get out! Hurry!
Devin frantically washes blood off her hands. She stares into the mirror.
Hulya calls Nezaket [Eko’s mom?] with the good news.
Hulya is angry that Ceylan has shared wedding pics on social media. Say goodbye to your followers and erase them, she says. Ceylan snaps back, and if I don’t? You know what might happen, Hulya replies, don’t force me. Leyla takes Ceylan’s side. Stop meddling in her life. Hulya says she will continue to meddle in all their lives.
Leyla reminds her mom, have you forgotten what tomorrow is? I know exactly, Hulya answers, and you’re not leaving the house. Do you realize what we are dealing with? Ekrem was shot. Is this your new excuse, Leyla asks. Nobody’s going to keep me in this house tomorrow.
Devin packs a suitcase and speaks with her assistant, Ayca. We only hear the convo from Devin’s side. Devin says she’s fine. Has anyone called? An emergency? A new patient? No, don’t send him elsewhere. I’ll come to the office. I’m fine, don’t worry.
Devin brings her bag out to Turgut. She tells him they won’t go to the estate. She’s going to her office. Turgut takes out his phone to contact Aslan. She asks, do I need a man’s permission? Apparently, she does. Turgut asks Aslan. He’s not happy about it but he reluctantly agrees. He wants Turgut to stay with her and to search everyone coming and going. And after, take Devin to the estate.
Turgut gives Devin the okay and opens the back door of the car for her. Devin prefers to *ahem* ride shotgun.
Yagmur has slept in Eko’s room. Ceylan texts her—is Eko awake yet? No. Are you okay? No. Yagmur steps out of the room to take a call from her mother. Nese cries, your father is selling the house. Someone made an offer. Nese says she can’t bother Devin now and asks Yagmur to talk to do something, talk to her father. Yagmur doubts that will work.
Nese continues to cry. What can I do? Yagmur notices a nurse leaving an area marked, “personel harici girilmez” no entry except personnel. Guessing medications are kept there. Yagmur tells her mom it will be fine, and she needs to hang up. She’ll find a way to fix this. Yagmur looks at the room again.
Turgut searches a patient at the office. Devin catches him in the act. She apologizes to the patient and gives Turgut a withering look. Well, it turns out this emergency patient is really a reporter looking for inside info of the wedding events and to let everyone know Aslan Soykan’s wife.
Cut to Devin pushing the reporter out the door and down the steps. Turgut accompanies the fellow down the walk, to the street where a cameraman is recording. While Turgut and crew scuffle with the periodistas, Devin takes the opportunity to hop in a car [assume it’s Ayca’s] and drive off. Turgut hustles to his car and gives chase.
Turgut finally catches up to Devin thanks to a truck blocking the road. Devin gets out of the car and has a panic attack. She flashes back to Eko’s shooting. When she calms, she tells Turgut she wants to go back to her own home.
Hulya calls Turgut, why aren’t you here? He tells her there were complications. He’s glad she called. He’s not sure what to tell Aslan. He whispers that Devin had a panic attack. Hulya gives the okay to bring Devin to her home, she will handle the rest. Hulya asks for her car.
Eko wakes up. Aslan, Isko, and Yagmur are present. Eko’s groggy and babbling. [Turkish] Aslan, my brother. My dear brother, my beautiful brother. Do not forget, a branch breaks, but only a broken heart can kill a person. Aslan laughs, they gave you morphine and you’re hitting on me?
Eko apologizes to Aslan, he didn’t have time to react before he was shot. Forget about that, Aslan smiles, what was that about the branches? Eko says he doesn’t know what he’s saying, it’s the meds talking. Eko apologizes again for ruining the wedding.
Gunshot victims apologizing, Aslan snarks, I don’t believe it. No. We need you. You can’t die yet. People here really care about you. Eko looks over at Yagmur. Aslan continues, look who’s here. Yagmur. She was very worried. She was with you before you were shot and hasn’t left your side. Eko thanks her.
Aslan asks Eko if he saw the shooter. Nope, he was wearing a helmet and it happened so fast. Eko blames it on Ati. Isko says, we’ve put the word out and we’ll find the bike and the man. Yagmur asks, what will you do then? With a little luck, Isko replies, we’ll be on the evening news. Aslan gives his get well wishes and everyone leaves Eko.
Aslan takes a call from Hulya. He tells her that Eko is awake. She asks if he’s okay. Yes. More questions—did you speak? What did he say? Did he make a statement? Did he see the shooter? Aslan answers, why so curious? What’s with all the questions? I’m worried about Ekrem, Hulya replies. Really? Looks like Aslan suspects something. He tells mom, we’ll talk later.
Ibo meets with Kursat. It’s a strange location. Is that sand? Men are loading trucks. Kursat starts, I hate to ask, but you don’t sell in the country, do you? Ibo stops in his tracks—you think the worst of me? You think we are thieves and that we poison children? Of course not, Kursat answers. Don’t ask again, Ibo replies, we only sell our product to foreigners. It goes abroad. Just worry about your commission.
Aslan calls Ibo. Ibo answers, [Turkish] hello nephew, "hangi dağda kurt öldü?" - on which mountain did the wolf die? It’s sarcastic, owing to how infrequently Aslan contacts him. Aslan tells him Eko is fine and asks if there is any word on Ati. Ibo says the bastard got away. But that’s okay. He’s clever enough to know the punishment for messing with the Soykans. I’m looking for him and I’ll let you know if I get a lead.
Aslan texts Turgut. How is everything? Turgut worries, what do I tell him? Turgut types and erases a few texts. He ends up sending graphic of himself with the caption “eyvallah”. LOL. Eyvallah is a multipurpose word, it’s meaning dependent on circumstance. I won’t get into it here. You can google it. I this case Turgut means “okay”. Turgut mutters to himself… it’s complicated.
Edit: Devin talks with Ezgi on the phone. She’s glad Ezgi and Dani didn’t stay to witness the incident. Ezgi heard on the news and she’s glad that everyone’s okay. She asks, do you need anything? Devin says she’d like to come see her if possible. Ezgi makes an excuse that her daughter is there, maybe they can do a video call. Devin understands and says, if I were you, I’d be afraid to see me, too.
That call is interrupted by Hulya arriving at Devin’s place. Devin has made tea for her MIL. They sit in silence for a while. Hulya finally says, geçmiş olsun, Turgut told me you had a panic attack. Devin asks, is that why you told me get well? Why else, Hulya replies. I thought you said it because of what happened last night, Devin answers. Someone got hurt at my wedding.
Hulya explains, that’s not why. We’re used to these things. Was it a surprise to you? Yes, Devin replies, maybe you are used to it but I’m not. Did my son give you the wrong impression, Hulya asks, did he promise you a rose garden? But roses have thorns. Do you understand the kind of family you just joined? You love the power, but with it comes a lot of enemies.
Devin fires back, you think I’m interested in that kind of power, Hulya Hanım? You think that’s why I’m with Aslan? [Turkish] I didn’t even want his last name. Yes, Hulya says, you wanted to be Devin Akin. But could you? No. And you can’t be. Because as of today, you are a Soykan and it comes with certain responsibilities.
What responsibilities, Devin asks. Hulya replies, you have a lot to do, and we have other matters to discuss. But not today. Today you will pack your bag and go where you are supposed to go. Devin folds her arms, I’m not going anywhere. I’m home. Thanks, but you didn’t have to bother coming all the way here. Would you like more tea? Hulya leaves in a huff.
Hulya calls Aslan right away and tells him she just left Devin’s house. Aslan is puzzled. Devin was going to her office and then the estate. Why is she at her place? Hulya tells him about the panic attack. She adds that Devin reprimanded Turgut and told him to take her home. And Hulya adds—Devin also yelled at me. Don’t be mad at her when you see her, okay? Maybe she’s right, her wedding was ruined. Hulya is pleased with herself.
The moto from the shooting has been found. It’s burned but the plate number is still a bit visible, Isko says. We will restore it and find the shooter. Aslan asks about Ati. Isko says his private jet is here, so he’s here. We’re looking for him.
Ibo has come to see Hulya. They arrived at the estate the same time and talk outside. She doesn’t want him coming and going as he pleases. They snipe at each other as usual. She supposes he will use his mother as an excuse for coming around. Nope, he keeps tabs on his mother. He knows she’s fine. He tells her, I’m here because I was… worried about you. [Oh boy, the look he gave her. Does he have feelings for that witch?]
Inside the house, Ibo suggests, let’s have coffee. Let’s not, Hulya replies, you saw your mother, now go. Ibo says Seher asked about the bride. Has she been here? She’s probably wondering what she got herself into. Hulya doesn’t care. She should know that joining this family comes at a price. [see that portrait of Yusuf in the background?]
Ibo steps closer to Hulya and asks, did you know about that Hulya? Did you know that choosing Yusuf came at a great price? She answers, I understood… he interrupts… There was another way. If... you had chosen the right man, you wouldn’t have had to pay the price. It’s none of your business, Hulya replies, I chose a man I could rely on at the time. You should go. Hulya leaves and Ibo glares at Yusuf’s portrait. [Aslan looks a lot like him, don’t you think?]
Aslan arrives at Devin’s place and rushes over to poor Turgut, who assures that everything is okay, don’t worry. Aslan starts off, first when it comes to Devin, I’ll decide whether to worry. Second, I’m trying to keep cool, but my patience is wearing thin. Third, never send me stupid pictures again.
Devin emerges from her building and walks right past the men. Aslan calls after her and follows. She doesn’t respond.
Yagmur is still with Eko. She gets a text from her mother. Your father and the buyers will sign tomorrow. She texts back, stay calm, I’ll figure something out. Nese responds, how? I want to rent, and they are asking 45,000 TL. She laments, what did I do to deserve this?
A nurse comes in with the medication cart and Yagmur grabs a bottle from it. The nurse leaves. Yagmur empties some pills from the bottle and swallows them.
Aslan has caught up to Devin. She starts, last night, someone got hurt… at my wedding… our wedding. Ekrem could have died, Yagmur could have died. And you couldn’t even hold your wife at the hospital. You wouldn’t even look at me. You only asked if I was okay. You had your men watch me like I was an object. I told myself, “Maybe he will call”. You didn’t. “He will surely come to see me”. You didn’t.
Devin continues, we were going to stay at the estate for a while. Your mother told me so. I don’t know what’s going on. I want to understand why you made me feel like that. Why?
Aslan has a hard time getting the words out. Finally, he blurts, I was ashamed. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to say. It’s not like I didn’t want to look at you. I just couldn't face you. Devin turns and walks away. Aslan walks after her.
Devin and Aslan go to a café. He asks, will we sit here like a couple of teens? Feel free to leave if you have a shootout or a score to settle, she snaps back. Don’t do this, he replies, finish your coffee so we can go home. I know you don’t want to, but we will stay at the estate. It’s the safest place now.
Devin begs to differ. The safest place? Someone was almost killed there last night. You can go, I’m not going. My home is safe. Aslan argues, don’t do this. I’m trying to protect you and my family. I’m also trying to keep my patience. You’re pressuring me too much.
I am? Devin asks, am I the only one who think what happened was strange? Of course, she realizes, I’m the only one who thinks it’s strange. Why don’t you? Because this is your normal. And knowing that, I agreed to marry you. I have no right to feel traumatized.
Aslan nods, didn’t you come into the family knowing the truth? Am I to blame for everything that happens? Devin replies, is this the man who said he was ashamed? The man who was ashamed to face me? Didn’t you tell me I’d never see you with a gun? But you were shooting it up so someone would notice you.
She asks, what would have happened if you were at the entrance with the gun? Would you have killed someone? No answer.
And we are out.
Steve I watched it but didn't take any notes. I'll see what I can recall.
Elisa and Roberto still haven't consummated their marriage.
She can't stop thinking about Francisco. She tells her dad she doesn't love Roberto, she still loves Frank. Elisa discovers Manuela died. She was hoping she could get in contact with Francisco via her.
So all the ransom money amounted to about $1500. All the money in the stacks were blanks sandwiched between two 100 dollar bills. Fern is not happy. I did discover that her child was born 25 years ago. Mirna advised she see a PI and start the search.
I can't determine if Brenda is actually pregnant. I don't think she has had the procedure at the Dr yet so I think it was a preemptive get Dad off my back announcement. But they have told the rest of the family. Good chance she already is pregnant and Alonso is the daddy.
Seb and Moni announce their engagement. They want a small family wedding in a week. Alfredo, in his office, advises Seb to wait.
Speaking of being pregnant, good chance Tani is. Mirna asked her if she was careful, and, it looks like no precautions were taken. Marcelo really likes her and is continuing to date her.
I'm not really sure what Frank plans are in regards to Fern, but he accepts her invitation to meet him on her yacht. They are at sea and start making out at the end.
Dondi, you are amazing! I don't know how you so consistently put together such extraordinary recaps. All I can say is that I'm very grateful that you do.
This dizi continues to simultaneously engage and yet frustrate me. Right from the start of last night's episode, I again found myself wondering why in the world Devin married Aslan. As you note, the two of them stand apart outside the hospital as if they were strangers rather than newly-weds. That just added to the disbelief I felt in the previous episode when Aslan walks past Devin TWICE, not even acknowledging her, and instead goes to hug horrible Hulya.
Not long after that, there's a scene at Hulya's where Leyla asks her mother "Have you forgotten what tomorrow is?" Hulya replies that she certaily does know what tomorrow is, and Leyla is not to leave the house. Perhaps I missed it, but why is tomorrow so important?
Probably the interchange that stood out the most for me was a phone call Hulya made to Aslan. Hulya is very intent on knowing more about the shooting of Eko. When she's told he survived the surgery and is now awake, she bombards Aslan with questions: did you speak to him? did he make a statement? did he recognize the shooter? Even Aslan finds her questioning rather strange. It makes me wonder whether Hulya somehow arranged for the motorcyclist. But did she arrange for him to shoot someone? Did he think Yagmur was Devin, and was Devin his intended target?
Dondi, I'm glad you called attention to the portrait on the wall and identified its subject as Yusuf. I had no idea. And were you serious or sarcastic when you asked in an aside, "Aslan looks a lot like him, don’t you think?" And who was the "right man" that Ibo alludes to in his discussion with Hulya in front of the portrait of Yusuf? Is Ibo referring to himself?
Questions, questions, questions.
Dondi, wow, another fantastic review of all the drama . Love your style and way with words.
I thought i recognized that cafe from another dizi...but I can't remember which one.
I agree that there is a weird vibe between Yulya and Ibo. Ibo seems to have a thing for sour ,dour Yul...why?I must say that Ibo must think he is quite a fashion plate with his fur collared coat.
I recognized Aslan's dad's portrait , but I didn't look close enough to see if Asian resembled him.
Yagmur is a piece of work grabbing random pills and downing them ! She might be more then Eko can handle.
Poor Turgut has a big job trying to take care of Devin. Susan
Kat in SC: Enjoyed your recap of last night's episode.
52.) Odds that Mirna makes it alive all the way towards the end of this Telenovela ? She knows way too much & I wouldn't be shocked if Crazy Goldie Locks has her killed.
53.) Elisa still addicted to Francisco: I wonder how long before she finds out Emilio is really Francisco ?
54.) Elisa has no clue that StepMommy Dearest was the one who killed Manuela. Considering that the only ones who gave a damn about Manuela: Francisco, Ana, Elisa, Sebastian, Fermin, Erika, Claudia, Patty.
55.) Gabriel: You have NO damn clue that Brenda was banging your twisted brother, Slick Alonso. You just don't have a clue.
56.) Sebastian & Monica announcing their engagement & want a small wedding: What could possibly go wrong ? Slick Alonso & Crazy Goldie Locks both have evil plans cooking up.
57.) Tania is preggers ? CRAP. Will she even keep the baby & I don't think Marcelo will be able to handle this well.
58.) Francisco's revenge plans are way too slow, but I'm not surprised because he wants to keep Crazy Goldie Locks guessing before he drops the bomb on her ass.
59.) I'm still NOT convinced that Eugenio is dead: No way & I'm betting the sprinklers were turned on in the apartment back in Dallas, TX.
60.) How come we haven't seen Slippery Roberto's family members yet ? I have to think they're going to be key players in this Telenovela.
61.) Alfredo del Pino is still an uppity pompous JACKASS. I hope he gets the biggest Karma anvils ASAP.
62.) Tania & Mirna need to be in one of those Dr. Phil specials for obvious reasons.
63.) Meeting at the yacht: Francisco & Crazy Goldie Locks getting frisky LOL: Is Goldie Locks addicted to sex or something ?
64.) Feels like there's going to be a sucker-punch twist or something because I'm intrigued to see what Daddy Ferrero has planned to bringing down Jackass Alfredo & Co.,
Another splendid recap, dondi. I really appreciate your including the edits and giving us those Turkish sayings, like the one about the wolf.
Eko is adorable. He looks familiar, and I spent a while trying to find a dizi I might have seen him in but could not come up with a match. I’m very glad he’s going to be fine. He’ll need to be strong to deal with Yagmur and her neuroses and addictions. I totally missed her looking at the room where they keep the meds, but the camera showed her eying the bottles on Iko’s tray before she grabbed one.
Juanita, I also wondered about the significance of “tomorrow”. We just had Dead Daddy’s birthday party; what else could it be?
I know we’re to think she’s brave, but it seemed a bit ridiculous for Devin to go see a new patient after what she’d been through. Got a big kick out of “ahem, ride shotgun”, dondi.
That reporter can only be described as loathsome. What I was thinking when he kept grinning at Devin, even outside, having been thrown out, was “What a punchable face!” I felt like jumping through my TV and delivering a roundhouse.
Yes, that scene with Ibo assuring the other guy he only sold to foreigners sounds like drugs. But why the piles of sand? Inferior building material that could cause a collapse? No, poisoning children was mentioned.
I guess Turks are a bit more retrained than we are. When Hulya walked into MY office, I would not have offered her tea. I would have asked her: “Why the hell are you here, and how do you know my every movement>” Also, I would have stayed in my home even if it were on fire just so as not to give in to her ordering me somewhere else.
After nearly every conversation Hulya has with Devin, she manages to call Aslan and lie about what was said. Devin did not yell at her.
Yes, looks like both Ibo and Yusuf had a thing for Sourpuss. That was an interesting revelation. And, dondi, your remark about the person Aslan resembles was taken by me to mean he resembles Ibo. And by Susan as resembling Yusuf.
Devin gave Aslan exactly what he deserved, walking away. And she said exactly what I thought during those scenes where he ignored her. He was ashamed. That doesn’t fly with me. It means his sense of himself as a man is more important than her feelings as a woman.
They kept saying “estate” or some such word. I was thinking the whole family was going somewhere more rural, like a country home (or a hacienda in a TN). That is until I read the recap, and Devin said the place the family was going was the same place Eko was shot.
Juanita, yes, Hulya's strong need to know if the shooter had been identified was suspicious. And it also seemed like her son, who knows who she is, might have had the same thought about her having arranged it.
If you did recaps for Embajador, I was very grateful, just as I am for La familia! That was quite a tale, especially with the hiccup in season 2! But the scenery, culture, and acting were great! Thanks for all you recappers!
Babachita
Perhaps " tomorrow " marks the day Yusuf died .
I don't think good looking Aslan looks like Ibo, who gives me the creeps. In Amor Prohibido, , the actor playing Aslan was a spoiled playboy
Who went through a variety of hairstyles . In this show, he seems to have a thing for long coats . ...and handwritten notes .
How long have these two known each other .? Days? Weeks? They jumped into this marriage , so " Marry in haste, repent in leisure ." Have they even ever bunnyhopped? Susan
Babachita , I loved EmbaJador and Dondi's excellent recaps, but my fav dizi is Fatmagul which Dondi recommended . Did you see Kara Para Ask? That was another good one. Susan
Gracias, Dondi. Fantastic recap. I love all the detail you bring plus choice dialogue, like "Aslan laughs, they gave you [Eko] morphine and you’re hitting on me?" - lol. And thanks for the bonus Turkish translations.
I got a kick out of Turgut's workday. Realistic what he was going through trying to satisfy Aslan but not upset Devin. You go Turgut, take over from Devin throwing out the rude reporter and think carefully about what to text Aslan so as not to alarm him.
The shooting seemed to have no purpose other than to make Aslan tighter fisted with guarding his family and to draw a wedge between the newlyweds. Hulya is my No. 1 suspect, but Ibo too seemed pleased with himself so he's my No. 2. I see Ati as an unscrupulous media mogul but not one stupid enough to get violent with the mafia.
I like that Devin is at least speaking up for herself. I can't tell if Aslan is aware his mother is shading things to turn him off Devin or not.
Thanks for your kind words and great comments everyone.
I think Aslan resembles the portrait of Yusuf. Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Yusuf looked like he had blue eyes, fair complexion, and was probably blond in his youth. Maybe that’s why Hulya is obsessed with Aslan.
Yes, it seems there’s history between Hulya and Ibo. Icky but they deserve each other.
Juanita, we don’t know what “tomorrow” is yet. We will have to wait until Monday.
ITA, novelera, that reporter was loathsome. He was thrilled to be tossed out and roughed up. He said this would get him a promotion. You can punch him once for me. Maybe the Soykans are rubbing off on us.
I understood that Ibo and Kursat were speaking about drugs. I wasn’t sure if that’s where they operated from. Ibo was offended by Kursat’s questioning. A better translation from the original: Would we poison our Turkish children? Have we no honor? We only sell our goods to infidels.
Worse than the office, Hulya went to Devin’s house to order her around. The Turks are polite to guests, even ones they don’t particularly care for. So Devin made tea.
In the Turkish the Soykans refer to their home as “çiftlik” a farm or ranch. I suppose the equivalent of hacienda. I see this translated to English as either farm or estate. Geez, make up your mind Telemundo.
I like your list of suspects, Niecie. “I can't tell if Aslan is aware his mother is shading things to turn him off Devin or not.” I think Aslan is a bit of a mama’s boy. Maybe he wants to believe her even if he knows he shouldn’t.
I have continuing issues with edits that cause confusion and translations that ignore Turkish language and culture. And you know how I feel about the music substitutions. It’s unfortunate.
Susan, I also thought I recognized that café. Can’t say for sure but it reminded me of an Elif and Omer scene from KPA. Embajador (Seferin Kızı), Fatmagul and KPA… all great dizis and all with Engin Akyürek!
Dondi, I haven't watched all this episode yet but I have a question. Are you also watching this in its original language, or have you found a version with Turkish cc? I just wonder how you know when things are translated incorrectly and pull the Turkish words out of seemingly thin air ( as in the hacienda,/ranch )? I'll comment more later if I have any observations. I'm here more for the discussions as so far I'm not a fan of this type of TN and the dubbing really messes with my enjoyment.
Susan, I agree Fatmagul is the best! I did see KPA also, which was great, but Fatmagul is outstanding! I watched it on someone’s recommendation, probably yours or Dondi’s!
Babachita
I was thinking about how wardrobe choices send us messages about the characters . Aslan always wears that long, heavy overcoat . Clothes as armor??
Dondi, I still haven't figure out where I saw that cafe setting before . It might have been in " Mujer." Not many people here at Caray watched that one, but it was fascinating .
Can't wait to see what happens next .
Susan
Dondi, I haven't seen Engin or Burak Ozcivet in anything in a long time . I watched the second episode of " Another Self" , but I cant I can't remember what happened in season one , so I am lost so far. Susan
Kat: “Aile” (La Familia) Turkish eps are available on YouTube. Many dizis have official YouTube channels. Some dizis even have English or Spanish translations, dubbing or subtitles, available. Often, only auto generated subtitles are available with many language choices. Those are extremely hit or miss but still somewhat helpful.
There are also websites where you can find English subtitled dizis, some free, some paid subscription. Not always great translations, but good enough to understand. One must be careful when choosing those sites.
To your question Kat, I’ll check back to the original Turkish eps when a scene is confusing or seems out of context. I’ll expect a specific Turkish phrase/word and the translation sounds “off” to me. Examples: the prenup and what they call the Soykan home. Sometimes I’ll find an edit or a better translation. Sometimes I can do it without captions, sometimes not. But it helps to improve my Turkish. And it helps to understand the story. Unfortunately, it takes more time when I recap.
I think most of us don’t like dubbing. I prefer to watch a dizi in Turkish. But patio viewing and interaction makes it very enjoyable. I’ll say it again and again, Caray is a great place. I appreciate you all!
Susan, Engin made a dizi last year, “Adım Farah”. Don’t know if it will come to the US. You might be able to find it on YouTube. He’s currently filming a series for Netflix with co-star, Aslı Enver, and a very good supporting cast. There was a change in title, it’s now “Eski Para”, Old Money. Planned release in Spring 2025.
As for Burak, he’s still starring in “Kuruluş: Osman”, in its season 6 now.
Ok a few ideas. Could tomorrow be the anniversary of Leyla's ex boyfriend/fiance's death and that is why she refuses to stay home. She may have a grave to visit.
I wonder if Eko really is Aslan's half brother. Also wonder if Cihan is the son of Ibu rather than Aslan's father. It sure seems like Hulya and he have a history.
Thanks Dondi for answering my question about the Turkish series. I don't think I will add it to my Duolingo as a language to learn. I toyed with the idea of adding Norwegian as my grandmother was from Norway, 2nd generation US citizen I think though.
