My recap will be up later this afternoon. I'll be done babysitting around 1:30 as the kids are going to the dentist. I can watch and recap peacefully at home this afternoon.
Kat in SC: Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode.
PS: Congratulations on Ohio State Buckeyes winning their 9th national championship so easily last night.
We start with Miguel and Fern talking about the hit she wants done on Claudia. He says a lot of people know me here, let's go somewhere else and talk about it. They get out of the car, Fern calls Mirna. You need to call me in 10 minutes. She tells Miguel Mirna has my location. Miguel tells her she is totally crazy ( yup). Ok I missed something on the beating up. Claudia is not the target. She is. She gives him a phone and a wad of cash and he slugs her in the face. She asks is that the best you can do, I want more. He darkens her daylights....
Family dinner, Paty included. They are discussing the judges verdict. Paty asks Claudia to bring her more wine, Claudia curtseys and says I'd love to your highness.
Marcelo, Francisco and Ignacio discuss Fernanda's upcoming testimony with the lawyers they hired. I didn't understand all the convo. They wonder about the texts Ana saw. They doubt those texts can be recovered as it was 20 years and many phones ago. Francisco has been calling Fernanda who doesn't answer ( as she gave Miguel the phone. I guess her beating is going to look like a robbery or that Beltran ordered a hit on her).
Tania visits Alfonso. She is much nicer to him this visit.
The 3 guys discuss Ana. Ignacio hopes she doesn't fall back into drugs. They encourage him to ask her out. He says she is very pretty but he wants to concentrate on work. ( I have been hoping these 2 would end up together, perhaps it will happen).
Sebastian and Monica discuss her bio dad. They also discuss the court ruling tomorrow. He notes if Dad dies you will likely get his inheritance.
Back to dinner. All the guys are hoping Beltran dies so Moni inherits and they figure they will manage her shares. Elisa and Ana are against this line of thought.
Claudia brings Paty her drink, " your wine, your Majesty.". Paty tells her you have never tasted a wine so fine. Try it as she throws it in her face.
Claudia says it's my time to leave work. The rest of the meal is up to you, Paty Zonsa , to serve. And thank you for the wine, it was delicious.
Tania tells Alonso what a shame the security cameras at the hotel didn't work. He tells her the police are checking other cameras in the area ( uh oh). Technology and AI will find the person that did this.
Claudia n bed with Rafita tells him there isn't much of value at the big house. The jewels belonged to Fernanda and Brenda. Ana and Elisa don't really have any. She says why don't you rod Brenda's parents house instead.
Francisco finally gets a hold of Fernanda, but it is Mirna. Two guys attacked her in the street. She is badly hurt and in the hospital. Francisco rushes to her side.
Paty, dressed as a police woman arrests Papa,. FF
Rafita can't believe there is nothing of value at casa del Pinot. She says Alfredo is a miserable. He only gave her sister, his lover, $100.
Ana and Elisa argue about Francisco.
Mirna spins the yarn that Fern has been brutally beaten, though thankfully no internal injuries. She wasn't robbed. Obviously Beltran ordered it. Francisco is going in to see her. Tell Marcelo where I am. Marcelo is parking the car.
Marcelo runs into Tania in a hospital corridor. They discuss Alonso.
Francisco visits a black and blue Fernanda.
Back to Paty and Alfredo. I wanted to FF, but Alfredo gives this zinger. I have too much on my mind than trying to solve dissent among my servants!! Lol. He tries to cover by saying she serves him Feliz de papa.
Ana and Elisa argue some more.
Tania tells Marcelo that reconstructive surgery has come a long way. It's a miracle. He may have a normal life, including children (so I guess he wasn't technically castrated). Marcelo asks do you truly love him? I think she says yes. She asks what brings you here... Fernanda was beaten.
Mirna says Beltran did this to her. Francisco was going to hire bodyguards after she testified. Mirna says if you quit the persecution of Beltran..no way he says. Now he is more interested in him receiving the consequences of his (supposed) actions.
Claudia sneaks into Erika's house and is caught by her. She pretends she was out walking, but Erika knows better. She threatens to throw her out on the street..
Marcelo thinks Fernanda's beating was very strange.
Tania discusses it with Fern. She isn't so sure her plan will work .
Days later...in the courtroom. Beltran won. In the hall, the kids discuss that everything is being divided in half, including the house. Ninette and Brenda are at a different area of the hallway. Some strange guy texts something. Adelberto is jumping for joy, giving the victor sign to Alfredo.
Monica is boycotting the court ruling. She is visiting with Tania. She can't accept Beltran as her father and especially Fern as her mother. They discuss Alonso. Moni will never forgive what he did to her.
Francisco is trying to get details about the guys that attacked her from Fernanda. He promises her it won't happen again. He gets a text that Alfredo lost the case.
Claudia tells Erika she isn't on drugs she went back to the bar to protect them. Fermin says we can get a restraining order. She thinks Miguel is too dangerous. Fermin seems to see her point.
Alfredo is livid. All that he has worked for has to be shared. Gabriel tries to calm him down.
Fernanda is sad Beltran won as always. We still have time to leave and get far away from him.
Adelberto, Ninette, Eugenio and Brenda celebrate the win.
A few days later the final signatures are done at the office of the construction business. Alfredo of course is upset and rails against Eugenio. Adelberto stands up for his partner. Eugenio meanwhile has apparently drifted off, though he is upright in his chair. Alfredo says look he fell asleep, how will he mange this company. Adelberto and the lawyer check on him. Lawyer says he is dead!
Kat in SC: Enoyed reading all 3 parts of your recap of last night's episode. It was superb & quite exciting. My personal thoughts (super-short).
*Does Slick Alonso know it was Tania, who castrated him ? Tania: You better flee to Mexico with Marcelo or Brazil.
*Crazy Goldie Locks is something else: planning her own beating WTH ?
*Eugenio's dead already ? Are we're quite sure ? For all I know, Eugenio might've faked it in order to plot something else.
*Ignacio: Your theories about Ana relapsing are likely going to happen soon.
*Francisco is still an IDIOT.
*Paty is getting more & more annoying.
#60 – Part 1 of 3
I’m going all crabby old lady on you all! I’m craving watching or reading something linear. These dizis LOVE to show something and then go back in time to show what led up to it. I’m in two book groups, and it feels like half the books we read jump back and forth. It’s either jumping between two characters’ points of view or two time periods in their lives. Sheesh! I probably need to go re-read Jane Austen for a palate cleanse!
We start with some scenes that appear to make Hulya seem guilty as sin. She yells at Arif for not getting hold of Ergun’s phone. Then Nedret has a guy give Aslan a flash drive, probably showing something bad Hulya did. Then Iskoc and Turgut say that the cameras showed Arif coming to Ergun’s house after they did. The drive Nedret sent shows Arif lurking at the scene of Ergun’s car crash. Devin looks devastated.
Aslan calls Hulya to ask her to join them for dinner at the marina.
Ilyas and Kiymet talk about Serap. He’s wondering if he maybe wasn’t a good father. [Ya think?] Kiymet, of course, says he’s better than Mr. Rogers. She tells him she didn’t ever say “I love you” but he understood it.
They surely seem to be softening up our two villains lately. Both Ilyas and Hulya are seeming guilty and also in fence mending mode.
Bedri sinks even lower in my books. I DON’T want Yagmur with him. He’s shown snooping through his mother’s bedroom. He finds a locked wooden box and breaks it open. He reads her private letters. The letters are from Ilyas. In the first one he signs “Negro” and then with his name in the next.
More tricky, fake-out-Viewerville stuff. Aslan, looking grim, makes a call. Then we see inside a police station and some cop coincidentally is on a call. The head guy says it’s about a complaint regarding Ergun Akin’s case. They all rush out.
Looking somber Aslan and Devin ready the dining table. [I’m surprised all Turks don’t weigh 300 pounds based by the amount of food we see to serve two or sometimes three persons.] Hulya arrives. Aslan is stone faced. We see 2 or 3 cop cars racing somewhere, lights and sirens. Then there’s a knock at the door (in the marina?) where Aslan, Devin, and Hulya are eating. The tense music ramps up. We see Aslan open the door. And then we see the cops. Except it’s a dizi fake out. The cops have come for Sermat. Who’s really at Aslan’s door is Turgut, bringing a casserole.
Devin turns on the TV and we hear the news report of Sermat being the “intellectual author” of Sr. Akin’s murder and that he’s under arrest.
The next scene is Turgut somehow having a video of Sermat telling some guys to ruin Ergun’s brakes. [Was this supposed to have happened before the dinner Aslan arranged with his wife and mother?] If it was, proving Hulya innocent, then why was Aslan cold as ice to his mother when she arrived?
#60 – Part 2 of 3
Arif tells Aslan and Devin that he went to get the phone from Ergun’s house because Hulya feared she’d be blamed if those recordings were heard. Then we see Hulya telling Arif, on their way somewhere, that she’ll give Ergun the money he wants. She’s trying to win back her son. In the next scene Aslan is all smiles and teasing Hulya. We hear Hulya’s thoughts. “Maybe being a family isn’t sitting together for dinner every night. Maybe it means sharing the same feelings. Could love heal anyone in the world?”
The next scene is a big family birthday dinner for Seher. Asuman brings a cake with one lit candle. We see Aslan, Devin, Hulya, Leyla, Cihan, Ceylan AND Serap. We hear Cihan’s thoughts. “Yes, he’s dining with the Soykans with his wife. But wait a moment before judging him. Desperation is so bad that it would cause the Soykans to dine with the devil himself.
Two Days Before
More annoying behavior by Aslan at a therapy session. Devin tries to get him to be less stubborn. He’s insisting he won’t sit down with Cihan. We see the two women smiling indulgently, but I’d have probably slapped him upside the head. He does get off his high horse later and tell the therapist he worries what could happen to his family if he’s gone.
Nedret yells over the phone at some servant for letting Bedri in (in Adana). [Must be nice to have two sets of hot and cold running servants in two cities. Do they work cheap in Turkey?]
While Nedret and Hulya squabble at some market, Seher finds a whistle on a table full of children’s toys and wanders off.
We get another fake scene that turns out to be a dream. [At least this one was obvious to me.] We see Serap in black leather show up to confront Hulya. She tells her it’s about what happened 16 years ago. She killed him (Ibo) and now it’s her turn. She shoots Hulya in the chest.
Sigh. Still more therapy. She asks when Aslan’s last vacation was. He says it was 1996. Devin sarcastically asks him if he had been in utero.
We get a possibly scary but still cute scene of Seher. She’s stolen that whistle and is “directing traffic” at a traffic circle nearby. Nedret and Hulya find her.
Seher is tucked up in bed with her lunch on a tray. The family go to speak to her doctor. He says that the prognosis is not good. They don’t say Alzheimer’s but do mention a reduction in her grey matter. Soon she may not be capable of carrying on a conversation. He tells them to just do things with her that she likes to do, spend more time with her.
Back in her bedroom, Seher is surrounded by family. She smiles warmly and says that death is coming for her. Looking sly, she says that she thought he’d come for Hulya first. They all laugh (except Hulya). Aslan says that that’s the Anatolian black humor right there. Seher insists that Nedret and Hulya hug!
#60 – Part 3 of 3
Aslan has decided they’re all going on vacation for Seher’s birthday.
Nedret tries to get Bedri to come on this vacation, but he says something about work. He mentions something about inspecting the mill. Then he tells Nedret that he’ll make the bastard who ruined her life respond before God.
I’d like to know how Nedret keeps all those lovely scarves draped just so on her head? They’re all attractive. On me they’d slide around, slip off, fall to the floor and get trampled.
Bedri has come to see Ilyas, looking very dangerous.
Hulya gripes about Cihan coming to the birthday dinner (or on vacation, whatever…)
Back to Trying for Redemption Dad and Backstabbing Son. Bedri says he’ll take care of what Ilyas wanted him to do but not at the port. He wants it to be on land. “It’s ready, and I’m also ready; but they’re wanting to speak with Ilyas.” On his way to the door Bedri asks Ilyas why he trusts him so much. And why he asked Bedri for his date of birth. Ilyas comes up with a good answer. “Why shouldn’t I trust you?” We see Serap lurking, as always.
Bedri says to his low rent henchies that it’s done. We’ll bring the “merch” by land, and then we’ll remove Ilyas from the plan. The guys are shocked and ask if they’re going to have to kill him. Bedri replies that he’ll do it. He has an account from the past to settle.
Seher is in heaven with her two grandsons. She wants her new granddaughter (Serap) to be there. [So I guess this convo was before the dinner we saw a while ago.] She wants everyone to get busy and make her some bisnietos (great grandchildren).
Serap tries once again to understand why her father is being that way with Bedri. She says he’s never “seen” her.
Hulya drops her recent attempt at a kindly façade and orders Cihan not to come to the birthday dinner and not to bring Serap. Cihan gets to his feet and says that his wife has said that a Soykan ruined her life. He’s asked her 50 times and hasn’t gotten an answer. “Are you hiding something?” Hulya almost looks as if she might know about what Ibo did.
Kat in SC: Howdy from the Alamo City. Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode.
Nove!era, thank you for that exce!lent recap. I agree about the way the writers are playing fast and loose about jumping back and forth in time .
I also agree that Nedret's scarves are love!y and am amazed at how they never seem to slip or slide . I have two scarves from one of my Turkish students. I display them like art. i don't wear them .
I guess we can agree that we can be grateful that we are not a part of either of these dark and dangerous families . However, The houses are beautiful.
Susan
Gracias, Novelera. I was stunned to see Cihan and Serap at the Soykan table and wondered if Telemundo had goofed in editing. Thanks for putting everything in its proper place. Like your book clubs, mine has had too many novels that jump past/present and this/that viewpoint. Reading classic Alexandre Dumas on my own is calming as stuff is mostly linear. Thanks for the laughs, especially "He’s wondering if he maybe wasn’t a good father. [Ya think?] Kiymet, of course, says he’s better than Mr. Rogers."
Great learning Spanish and about Turkey at the same time. So 112 is Turkey's 911. I couldn't believe Aslan would call the police on his mom BEFORE confronting her himself. I'll admit the writers faked me out good.
All the Soykans (Aslan, Hulya, Cihan) knew that taking on the mighty mafioso Ilyas is a big deal (back when No. 1 son Serhat got killed for trying to kill Yagmur). But Bedri thinks he can kill Ilyas with no repercussions? He's certainly got an inflated sense of self.
I don't know what to think about Hulya and Serap. Would Ibo have claimed he and underage Serap had a mutual thing going on? Would Hulya have believed that crap?
Novelera, thanks VERY much for this terrific recap of an episode I found at times surprising, at times annoying. I was delighted with the way you began: "I’m going all crabby old lady on you all!" Let me just say that I share your feelings about the excessive use of flashbacks. For me, that was perhaps the most annoying aspect of the episode, but a close second was Hulya's thoughts about family and the power of love. Yuck! The last thing I want from a dizi or telenovela is preaching or revelations about life. Such things should come through the story, not spelled out by some character's explicit thoughts or statements.
I'm also glad you asked "why was Aslan cold as ice to his mother when she arrived?" While I understand that Devin and Hulya may have been so worried about Hulya's seeming instigation of Ergun's death that they just couldn't make small talk, Aslan surely knew that the police were going to arrest Semret for Ergun's death. Aslan could have spared both Hulya and Devin much needless anxiety. Of course I realize that the writers were again just wanting to tease us, but this time it seemed too contrived. Unless, of course, the writers want us to believe that Aslan enjoys being a sadist. I have lots of reservations about Aslan, but outright meanness toward those he cares for isn't on my list.
As for Bedri, he's definitely NOT one of my favorite characters, but I wasn't as bothered as you were by his breaking his mother's locked box and reading her private letters. My guess is that if I had grown up being perplexed and troubled by some secret my mother (or father) refused to discuss with me, I might very well have broken a locked box and read the private letters they contained. (I hope I haven't ruined our friendship, novelera!)
I don't recall whether the doctor told Seher's family that they should play music that she likes, but I recall a riveting documentary entitled "Alive Inside" that demonstrated that even people with severe dementia can be re-awakened by hearing songs they liked years ago. I don't think their improved state lasts--at least this wasn't dealt with in the documentary--but the change they underwent while listening to these songs was dramatic and heart-warming.
Many thanks once again, novelera.
THANKS KAT..!!
Claudia is all-the-way--- 'TURNT-OUT'...all mouth..no brain cells... !! and the heifer suggested they rob brenda...WTF Claudia!!! jail for you!!
POR FAVOR..EUGENIO IS NOT DEAD!!!!!!!!
"Thank you very much, thank you very much, that's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me" Scrooge
I'll be singing ding dong the witch is dead if Fernanda dies. You all get the cliff notes version today. I'm recapping from memory.
Eugenio is declared dead, paramedics wheel him out on the stretcher, though I note the body bag is open. Is this another faked death? Time will tell. Adelberto doesn't seem too upset, I'm not sure if Eugenio gave him a position in the company, perhaps some shares. The del Pino family are already wondering how to get control of Monica's portion. They are urging Sebastian to make sure she accepts her birthright. Sebastian isn't so sure she wants any part of it. Daddy tells him she is young and maleable exert your influence (be the man of the house). Slowly all the family learns about his death. Paty calls Fernanda, who jumps out of bed and dances a jig until someone comes in her hospital room. It's Mirna, dancing together recommences.
Ignacio goes to Miguel and Rafita's dive bar and warns them off Erika, Fermin and Claudia. They have protection now and the police will get called if you go near them.
Gabriel gives Miguel a down payment for the hit on the Ferrara's. I think it is supposed to be a different death than the son's so as not to raise suspicion.
Claudia has been calling in sick to the strip joint. They don't believe her. She says you don't want me puking on the clients now, do you. Claudia also talks to Ana. She encourages her to give Joseph a chance. Get out and enjoy life.
Tania is actually nice to Alonso. His surgery is tomorrow. If it doesn't fix him he'd rather be dead. So far the police haven't found a clear shot of the person in the videos outside the hotel. She of course is relieved.
Marcelo and Francisco are the last in the company to learn of Eugenio's death. Francisco is irate. He wanted him to rot in jail. Marcelo tells him God will judge him. A familiar refrain he also heard from Fermin and Ignacio, Elisa, etc.
Speaking of Elisa, the 2 go out to lunch. They agree they are each other's love of their life. Fernanda was just a diversion. Roberto, he was her desperation guy since Francisco was gone. She never loved him.
Roberto calls Fernanda. He says the rules of the game have changed. I'm wondering if his chemo treatments are fake, though I don't understand how the hospital could be on board with it. Perhaps his surgery was just kidney stones.
Francisco goes to visit Fernanda who is dressed and ready to blow the joint. He wonders that she recovered so quickly, so she stands up and grimaces. Now she is divorced and Eugenio is dead they can get married! He doesn't look happy.
Thanks, novelera for the recap. I'm with you on the time jumps in books these days, seems like the thing to do to get published. Bring back the straight forward narrative!
How does Nedret keep her scarves in place?? Mystery to me.
I don't understand why Aslan was cold to Hulya at dinner, unless he was still not sure about her involvement with Ergun's accident. I actually felt sorry for her.
The Soykan family vacation sounds like a disaster in waiting. It'll fun to see what transpires!
I agree they sure serve a lot food at dinner, like every night's a banquet.
Beth S
I was so lost so thank you for the recap. Just now getting to it before tonight’s show. I got home and turned on tv about 10 minutes into it and was so confused. It felt like they skipped a show entirely. I could not understand what Cihan was doing there and why everyone was laughing maniacally. Though Asuman might be putting something in their food.
It just doesn’t make sense that Hulu’s all of a sudden wants forgiveness. And that she didn’t kill Ergun. That just doesn’t seem right. But fine. As long as she lets Leyla leave.
I think the scarves must have Velcro on the edges to stick in hair. They are beautiful. Almost as good as the Turkish tiaras.

Kat in SC: Thanks for the recap of last night's episode. My personal thoughts (it'll be super short)
*Gabriel & Alfredo obviously want Monica DEAD too since she's Beltran's heir. They want to loot her $$$$$$.
*Tania better WATCH HER BACK.
*Mooching Roberto is still faking it because he's determined to keep Gullible Elisa by any means necessary. 38 more episodes to go.
*Glad Ignacio told those thugs off & police protection is there for Fermin & Erika.
*Something tells me Joseph is up to no good. Just saying!
*Crazy Goldie Locks better hope Eugenio is dead for real this time.
Kat in SC: Looking forward to seeing your recap of Thursday's upcoming episode. Something tells me Beltran faked his death again: he's quite the clever villain.
OT No way I will finish this during Naptime and when I leave for home so the parts will be spread out I believe unless I do like yesterday. Steve and Halimacandy do the shorter recaps I pull from my memory work for you. It would make my life easier.
Francisco comments on Fernanda's miraculous recovery. She claims it's because she no longer is in fear. She reiterates again that she wouldn't turn Beltran in because she was in fear for her ( and Francisco's) life. H rebuffs her marriage plans and is angry she doesn't see his oint about Beltran paying for killing abuela. He tells her he'll pay the hotel bill and I think he says they are through, but not sure.
Ana has decided to give blue eyed Joseph a chance. She says she won't sleep with him. If and when it happens it will be her choice.
Gabriel tells dad the plan is on for Saturday.
Paty and Claudia make up.
So not everyone was aware of Beltran's death. Sebastian breaks it to Moni. He mentions she is likely his heir. She wants nothing to do with it but Sebastian points out it is also their patrimony at stake and just wants her to consider it.
Elisa tells Ana about Beltran.
Ninette is relieved Beltran is gone. She did not like his influence on Adelberto. She tells Brenda now it's time to get your divorce. Brenda breaks it to mom her secret lover is Gabriel and she doesn't want a divorce. Ninette says your dad will have a stroke, I can't help you smoothe it over with him, and what about his "problem". Brenda says that he's perfectly fine now and they love each other.
Gabriel seems suspicious of Tania. On the other hand he thinks Alfonso got what he deserved.
Alfredo gives a pep talk to Alonso. His surgery is upcoming.
Marcelo discussed Francisco's abuela and her abandoned house. Hell deal with it later. He isn't ready to revisit those memories.
Sebas and Moni. She looks like she was crying though she denied being affected by his death. Looks like she will accept the inheritance if it comes her way for the good of the family firm. Uh oh, she is late and is worried it's Alonso's.
The new maid brings a large bouquet of flowers to Elisa. From Francisco, asking for a dinner date.
Alonso talks to Dad about his siblings. Elisa seems to still care about him but the others! Dad points out that Gabriel and Sebastian likely never will forget what he did to their wives. Alonso seems to want to change his ways and be a better person.
Gabriel tells Tania how his shrink helped him. He mentions his submissive mother and domineering father and how it affected him mentally. The therapist changed his life. Tania talks about being an orphan and needing therapy ( finally) and that he should give Elisa the name for loca Ana.
Stalwart Seb tells Moni if she is pregnant it is her decision. Also if she chooses to keep the baby they will say he is the father. ( Since there likely was only a day or 2 between his leaving for LA and the rape chances are 50/50, unless he used protection because they are newlyweds.)
Ana is on her date with Joseph who is shocked by her life story. It's like a movie (we say soap opera here).
Mirna is eating dinner with Fernanda, not in a restaurant for a change. Fern gets a call from Richards, Beltran's lawyer. He is traveling to Miami tomorrow and needs to see her.
Elisa and Francisco are out on their date. He doesn't love Fern, it's only her in his heart.
Gabriel is not happy Brenda tried to lay the groundwork for their reconciliation with her mom( probably this will make him look guilty on his murder plans).
False alarm for Moni.
I'm liking Ana's date with Joseph. Let's hope he is a good guy ( I think he is) and she gives him a chance
Ok Mirna and Fernanda talk about Richard's visit and implications of the will. I think they mentioned that maybe shares in the firm may be given to Fernanda and that would bring her back into the del Pino orbit. I guess it would be a good way to keep her there.
Elisa feels like she is living Dream from which she doesn't want to awaken. She returns home from her date. Ana is on her laptop on the couch, after her boring date with Joseph. Elisa asks why are you always a pessimist,to which Ana says you always look on the bright side of life .
Adelberto and Ninette discuss Eugenio and the business.
Francisco tells Fernanda they are done.
Elisa tells Ana she and Francisco had dinner together and they are back together.
Francisco tells Fern Elisa is the love of his life. She slaps him.
KAT...THANKS.....

The whole gang is heading out to the vacation resort. As Turgut loads luggage in a car, Asuman comes on strong (again), asking him if he wears boxers or briefs for swimming. Next thing you know, Turgut is trying to get Aslan to let him stay behind. Aslan replies "No way."
At Seher's insistence, Nedret and Hulya ride together in a limo with her. Ceylan and Asuman are in another car, and AsDev ride alone together. AsDev get in such a good mood in the car -- singing, rocking to the music on the radio, and taking a selfie -- I fear a car crash is coming, but nope. Anyway, Devin has figured out that Aslan is having Iskoc and Eco find out everything they can about Serap. She tells him about the suicide attempt and offers to talk to Serap. He nixes this.
At the hotel lobby, Cihan and Serap show up. It's kind of moving that Serap, as messed up as she is, agreed to come with Cihan. Aslan is ticked they came, but Hulya is even more ticked. Seher is frightened at first, but then recognizes Serap "as the girl with big eyes who cried" years ago.
Back in Cihan and Serap's hotel room, unbeknown to Cihan, Serap has a gun in her purse.
Brothers Cihan and Aslan compete over who's best at grilling food. It seems to me that these two have missed each other. They also play the board game Okey (I think) in doubles with Seher and Devin in this episode. Anyway, back to the grill, when the whole family is seated to eat, Serap stands aside looking mournful. Cihan (or Devin?) gets her to come to the table, but she has an outburst when Asuman? offers her a drink, and she flees.
Serap and Hulya run into each other alone, with Nedret eavesdropping around the corner. Hulya: "You should be thankful to me that you're alive." Serap: "You call breathing being alive?" Serap spots Nedret eavesdropping and calls her out. Serap has choice words for Nedret too, saying something cryptic about Bedri.
Back in his room, Turgut, now in the spirit of vacation, is hitting the minibar.
Bedri is somewhere in a nice restaurant. He looks sad. His happy dime-store buddies join him, but one makes the mistake of saying Ilyas acts like a dad to him, like the kind of great dad you see in a TV show. Suddenly Bedri grabs something long and pointy and stabs his buddy, I think, in the thigh.
With Devin and Aslan, Cihan confesses he's worried about Serap. He wants Devin to talk to Serap. Devin is in but Aslan say no. Cihan: "For the first time in my life, I have something to lose." This seemed to move Aslan and he "allows" 30 minutes with Serap. Back in their room, Aslan warns Devin that Serap is dangerous and to open the bottle herself of anything she drinks. (Well, Serap did try to poison Cihan, among other things.)
Devin and Serap sit talking alone in the hotel bar, while Aslan and Cihan watch from the other side of the room. After a few minutes the brothers relax and get the competition going again, with a pinball machine in the bar. As Devin and Serap are circling Serap's pain, two young guys, wearing jeans and backward baseball caps, hit on them ("Can we buy you a drink?). DevRap tell the to scram, but Cihan and Aslan spot this and do a slow pause (too funny).
Niecie,, thank you . I guess vacation means different things to different people.
