PRIMETIME on Univisión (#2): Las Hijas de la Sra. García & Papas Por Convenencia- Week of Feb. 3, 2025
Welcome to page 2 of Primetime TNs/Series. Papas Por Convenencia and Las Hijas de la Sra. García have gotten off the ground! Kat and Adriana Noel are providing notes/recaps for LHDLSG; and discussion is strong on PPC. So let’s cheer our leaders on and join in on the discussions!! As always and PLE-E-EASE!!, if some other brave soul(s) would like to contribute a recap or just some highlights for any of the listed TNs, it would be greatly appreciated. Papas #15 Part 1
Tino manages to get in to see Chalacas in the hospital thanks to the friendly cop on guard. Tino looks at the tatoo on the back of Chalacas's hand and wonders, and then quietly asks Chalacas if Checo was his accomplice, give me some sign if so. There is no response from Chalacas and Tino leaves. After he leaves Chalacas manages to wiggle a finger as a sign.
Rudolf and Clara Luz are upset after hearing that Pura's tumor has metastasized. Rudolf says it means that Pura is going to die soon. They decide to search Pura's bedroom for more information about any plans for Pipe.
Tino visits Aidé in the hospital and gets in bed with her with much smooching and pillow talk. It looks like he brought her a single red rose.
Unless I'm totally confused Aidé talks about the family outing that Tino organized, but we don't see the outing until later in the episode. Perhaps they were talking about his plans for the outing.
Rudolf and Clara Luz search Pura's bedroom and find some mysterious things. A wig, a passport in another name, a medical report from a hospital in the United States concerning her pancreatic cancer.
They seem more concerned about what would happen to Pipe if/when Pura dies. Rudolf says they have no responsibility to take him, perhaps Guzmán, his uncle.
Pura returned home after realizing she had left her phone at home.
A lttle more clashing between Tino and Facundo, interrupted by Scarlet.
Tino shares his suspicions about Checo with Bertha.
A little product placement for Santa Clara milk at breakfast and Tino talks up the outing he wants them to do as a family; at Ajusco, whatever that is, but Circe is scandalized, it's more a place for ordinary people, not the upper class.
Tino says it will be "chido" which is "cool" but maybe that's a lower class word, as Facundo points out Tino said "chido" and decides he will stay at the house, but Fede decides to go.
Guzmán brings Aidé work in the hospital though he thinks she should be resting. He also brings up the fact that he found out Facundo has a bloc of shares in Maxiclick. Aidé tells him they were a wedding gift, but that she so soon began doubting Facundo that she never told him about the shares. They worry a little that Facundo could use them sometime, and there is no way to take them from him now.
Lichita and family are having breakfast, Lichita wants to get to work and make a good impression, it's her first week. Chofis tells her she will take good care of the baby (whose name I have forgotten). Checo strolls by in a hurry to leave, but they stop him, and he, all smiles, shows the family a report that he is doing very well at the prepa. Chofis did look a little suspicious, but he got to leave.
Clara Luz and Pura talk about Pipe, but Pura doesn't level with Clara Luz about her illness or much else. They also talk about Rudolf, fairly noncommitally.
Tino and most of the family arrive at Ajusco, and Checo and his moto are there waiting for them, much to the delight of Circe. Tino is not so delighted, but Checo goes with them.
Chano and Chofis are at home, and I'm not sure of this, but I think Chano is making some sort of jello... something. Chofis looks amused but she tries to be helpful.
Tino and family have a fun time at Ajusco, which seems really nice to me. They play games, wander through a labyrinth, and generally have a good time. Tino tells Fede that he would like to know if Checo is actually the owner of his moto. She will look into it.
At Maxiclick Guzmán talks to Lichita, and I think he does a little flirting, maybe a little forward; he remarks on her good physical condition and figure.
The doctor visits Aidé in the hospital and tells her that she is doing well, but they want to implant a stent to improve her cardiac blood flow, a relatively small and safe operation.
Back at Aidé's mansion, Facundo annoys Scarlet, wanting to film her for whatever reason.
At Ajusco there is some family bonding, Ulises and Lila talk things over and get along well. Fede keeps trying to scare poor Emiliano, who doesn't really need any more scaring. Unaware Tino tells her that she would make a great mother (ha!). She prefers just to be an aunt.
Tino and crew have lunch or supper but Circe complains about the pedestrian food, Tino argues that it is excellent. Tino asks Checo about his food preferences and, I think, finds Checo is quite familiar with typical Mexican food... perhaps suggesting he's not so rich.
Circe wants to leave with Checo on his moto, but Tino puts his foot down and Circe reluctantly gets in the car to go home.
It looked like Tino followed Checo home, but just then he gets a call from Ulises who is dealing with his heights problem and off goes Tino. Ulises is on the wrong side of a railing high above ground.
Papas #15 Part 3 of 3
Circe wants to escape Tino's vigilance and texts Checo that they should go to his yacht. Checo says his yacht is in the shop or his cousins have it or something, so they decide to see each other somewhere that Circe has access to.
Clara Luz continues investigating who might be Pipe's father. She sees some old compact discs, one which has a Sharpie inscription on the cover... from Rudolf, "el gran y espectacular Rudolf" in 2019. I couldn't read most of it.
Oops! Subtitles to the rescue! "Guarda este CD como recuerdo vintage de que alguna vez fui tu estrella favorita."
Tino gets Ulises down safely. Fede tells Tino that Checo's moto is registered to Teodoro Rosales García, Calacas's real name. Tino thanks Fede for all her help, she has been just great. Fede looks pleased as all get out with herself.
Circe is nowhere to be found and Tino is off.
Meanwhile Clara Luz shows the CD to Rudolf and says she thinks he might be involved somehow. We see a flashback to six years ago, Silvana and Rudolf talking, Silvana saying something about her only chance to be a mother. I'm not sure where this is going...
Tino goes to Checo's home and finds Chano (yeah, lots of "ch" characters) and asks "Checo is your son?"
Meanwhile, out on the open road, Checo and Circe are zooming along the highway, wind in their hair and all that, and taking selfies, but then it looks like they are going to collide with a BIG truck!
And we close for tonight.

PAPAS #14 Part 1
Previously: Tino and an emotionally drained Aidé talk. The children were in grave danger and it seems she is rethinking his presence in her life. Tino argues but does seem to think it’s best if he leaves the house. Aidé starts having pain and passes out, collapsing on the floor. Tino yells out frantically calling for an ambulance.
Hearing Tino’s cries, everyone arrives at the scene staring (did anyone call an ambulance??) as Tino carries Aidé down the stairs.
Checo tucks his motorcycle away in a corner of a shop and tell it he loves it. Sigh.
Lichita upbraids Chano about the children as he puts his fingers in his ears, a sour expression. Apparently she is hiding something from him as she makes the gesture of locking her lips and throwing away the key. They sit down and he tries to kiss her hand but she pulls it away. He grimaces at her behind her back.
Clara Luz and Pura have a bonding session as Clara Luz tenderly strokes a sleeping Pipe’s head.
Circe is blaming Tino for what happened, it’s your fault she tells him. Uli tries to intervene but Circe ain’t having it. Fed tries but fails miserably to put on a somewhat seemingly sympathetic face.
The doctor is asked if Aidé had a heart attack. The answer is no although I couldn’t interpret what the diagnosis was; I don’t think it is serious. In any event, it wasn’t enough to keep Fed on the scene; she blows kisses and rides her broom out of the hospital.
Chano enters Checo’s room and pulling back the sheets, sees pillows in place of his son. In a case of bad timing, Checo comes in the window at that precise moment, saying he was with his novia. Not too with-it Chano thanks his son for confiding in him as Checo pretends exhaustion and flops on the bed.
Fed struts in Aide’s house acting like she owns it and is met by Facundo. He says something about custody of Scarlet as he wears his usual goofy expression.
Circe, Uli and Tino visit Aidé, the doctor is there and Aidé is bright and alert.
At breakfast the next day, the family and not family gather. I was totally distracted by Facundo peeling a kiwi looking rather grossed out. Fed was literally busting out of her red dress, cleavage on full display. Some argument ensued.
Tino and Aidé talk and he tells her the most important thing is that she stay calm. Aidé takes his hand and kisses ensue.

PAPAS #14 Part 2
Clara Luz, Pipe and Pura have breakfast as they try to talk the child into having his fruit, which he happily tucks into.
Guzmán darkens Aide’s room.
Tino comes downstairs and Facundo complains no one is taking care of his daughter. Tino gets hot and disputes this saying he, his mother and everyone under the roof are watching over and taking good care of her.
Checo has breakfast with his parents and sweet Chuchito. Lichita ducks Chano’s kiss on the way out. Chano gives Checo some money as Checo holds his head as his father natters on.
The teacher at school is under the mistaken impression that Clara Luz is Pipe’s mother.
Chintolo visits Fed. They speak several times tonight and it is obvious they know each other….
Guzmán has good news for Clara Luz and Rudolf. Tino comes in all smiles. They talk about responsibility and Lichita comes out and gives them hugs. Tino says something about El Calacas to Lichita. Igor gives Guzmán a folder.
Checo and Circe meet in front of her house and they start kissing as Tino comes up. She introduces him as her novio. Tino sees the insignia on his motorcycle and makes a mental note of it.
Pura asks Clara Luz and Rudolf to babysit and leaves them with no choice. She leaves her phone there.
Aidé has a virtual call with her family. She is sweet and encouraging and has special messages for Scarlet and Lila. Circe gets ticked off and leaves in huff but Aidé takes it in stride blowing kisses to everyone.
Fed is visiting with Aidé as Facundo bursts in, complaining about Scarlet’s “mistreatment”.
Fed suggests Aidé hire Facundo at Maxiclick in order to come to a financial agreement. Not liking any routine or wanting to shirk responsibility, he will likely not last and quit anyway.

Clara Luz and Rudolf have a difference of opinion when sweet Pipe runs in pretending to have hurt his hand. Concerned, they take his hands in theirs as the little rascal takes their hands and puts them together…
Everyone enters Circe’s room (yea the Chiwawa is back) I think they are planning a surprise.
Fed and Tino literally run into each other. He apologizes and asks how she is…something about El Calacas.
Guzmán has a conference call with the three who ended up at the impromptu Maxiclick musical performance. Later he tells Igor he has a plan.
Fed has a rather threatening conversation with Emi seemingly poisoning his mind against his father.
A phone rings and Clara Luz and Rudolf quickly realize it isn’t either of theirs. They see Pura’s phone and debate on answering it. They do and it’s the hospital. Without verifying who they are talking to, the person on the other end says something to the effect Pura’s illness (cancer?) has metastasized.
Tino manages to get in and see a prisoner. To my shock and horror, it is El Calacas who is NOT dead although he is hooked up to machines and looks as though he is in a coma. Tino leans over and curses in his ear. He sees El Calacas’ skull tattoo and immediately recognizes it matches the insignia on Checo’s bike.
I apologize; there was much that I missed as the dialogue was way over my head. I guessed on some things and hope I didn’t misinterpret too much. Kindly correct and/or add.

Diana, thank you for this excellent recap! You got way more out of the episode than I did, I was lost at several points and at one point I gave up and went for coffee. It recorded, so if I really want to torture myself I can watch the recording. Actually, I prefer to watch the recording as I can stop the program and back up a scene or whatever. It can be time consuming though.
I was not happy with the scene where the doctor calls and gives a bad prognosis without knowing who he talking to, or if he's leaving a voicemail message who could retrieve it. But it's a telenovela...
I really had thought Calacas was dead, and I'm disappointed he's not. (Hey, he's just a telenovela character.) I had thought that things might become a little nicer in this show with him gone. Meh.
"Guzmán has a conference call with the three who ended up at the impromptu Maxiclick musical performance." Did they want to oust Aidé from Maxiclick??

I thought surely it was wham bam, woman kills man; I can not believe El Calacas survived! I was hoping it (and he) were over never dreaming he would linger. So much for the quick demise.
Andy, I had absolutely no idea what Guzmán and the trio discussed. "Ousting Aidé from Maxiclick" sounds very probable as he certainly doesn't seem trustworthy. Thank you. I only wish we knew what he has in mind for Lichita. And Chofis.

Las hijas Capitulo 18
Part 1/3
Ofelia tells Amparo how bad she feels over the slap she gave Mar. Amparo tries to encourage her, she needs to wait, Mar will be back. She needs to rest for now, she is exhausted. And then she should call work, tell them that she is sick.
When she is alone, Ofelia tries to put her hands in boiling water to punish herself for having hit her daughter. Val arrives just in time to stop her.
Jacinto feels bad for beating Juan, too, but how else was he supposed to act? The boy stole from his own mother! If he ends up in jail, he will have it much worse. Susana is upset with her husband, Juan will never want to see them again because of the beating he had to endure.
Arturo has somehow decided to spend all his mornings at his new property, aka the hole-in-the-wall that Val used to call her home. He notices a photo of Val with her father, says to himself that she’s very pretty.
He accidentally on purpose runs into Val outside and once again he tries to make his move. Val is still unwilling to give him the time of day, so he asks her to stop talking for a moment and just listen. Listen to his heart and hear what it’s saying. He takes her hand and places it on his chest and Val actually quiets for a second. But then she pushes him away again, saying she will never fall for this type of line. And then she slaps him.
They are interrupted by Mar’s desperate call to Val. She tells her what happened and asks for her sister’s help. Arturo offers to drive Val, and she accepts.
Ofelia is praying for her daughters to have a better fate than she had. Widow at 20? Is this better?
Amparo prepared breakfast, but Ofelia can’t eat. All she ever wanted to do was protect Mar and look what has happened. Amparo thinks she needs to give it time, but Ofelia thinks everything is lost. She doesn’t even care about keeping her job, it’s worth nothing without Mar.
The police come to Juan’s house, they have a warrant for his arrest. Jacinto and Susana panic, they manage to call a lawyer who tells them Juan needs to come back. If Mar says the truth, there will be no charges against him. Susana is still upset with Jacinto for beating on their son.
Now in the car Arturo makes a bad joke about this being their first couples’ trip but Val doesn’t appreciate it at all. He then puts on some bad music as a way to cheer her up, but she’s definitely not in the mood.
Juan is at the hospital; he’s lost a lot of blood.
Someone from Social Services has come to ask Mar about what happened. The hospital needed to inform the police about the bullet wound and they were told that Juan had a warrant on his name. Mar needs to stick around, they will have some questions for her. She looks overwhelmed.
Leo comes searching for Arturo, but he hasn’t arrived at work yet. The secretary comes with some notary papers, Leo checks them out and realizes they are for Valeria’s house.
He goes to ask Nick if he knew. Nick says it’s none of his business, it’s not like Leo asks them permission when he buys stuff for himself or for his wife.

Part 2/3
Susana comes to ask Ofelia to remove her police complaint. But Ofelia won’t. They fight again about who is more to blame for the relationship. Susana says that if she gives up on the legal charges, she won’t tell anyone about what Ofelia did to Gloria.
Val and Arturo arrive at the hospital. Juan is in surgery. Mar doesn’t understand why the cops plan to take him away. Val explains what Ofelia did. She adds that they have to tell his family, Mar needs to face the consequences of her acts. Mar reluctantly agrees and Val calls Susana.
She then wants to take Mar back home, it’s better they are not around when his family arrives. Arturo offers to pay for a room, so they can stick around to see if Juan gets better. Val doesn’t want to say yes, but Mar insists. Val promises she will pay him back as soon as she can.
At the mansion the ladies of the house notice that Ofelia is not around. Graciela says she got a call from a neighbor who said she was sick. Camila wants to fire her, Paula agrees. Where could they be staying? They are liars, who should be thrown out.
Alone with Camila Paula tells her about the house Arturo bought for Val. Leo told her. And supposedly they didn’t have a place to live. Surely that’s why they didn’t come today, they are moving in.
Now in the hotel room, Mar has fallen asleep. Val goes outside to talk to Arturo. He asked the hotel staff to prepare them something to eat, Val needs to take care of herself, too.
She reluctantly agrees, but keeps her distance during dinner. Art says she doesn’t need to be strong all the time. He gets that she has to be like this for her sister and mother, he loves that about her, but she can also accept her weaknesses. Like the fact that she is sometimes cold, scared or in pain. He puts his jacket on her shoulders and shows her real proof of his own pain and vulnerability. He screams for everyone to hear, but mostly to get it out and expresses his sorrow that he misses his mother. Val is brought to tears, and says that she misses her father, too. Arturo has tears in his eyes, also, they hug. This is the first real moment they actually share and it’s nice. Valeria starts to sob, and he encourages her to let it all out. She says this makes her feel better and thanks him. He caresses her face, and they smile to one another. The ice is broken and Val’s heart is surely melting.

Luis and Camila talk about Camila feeling lonely… Her brothers have their lives… Leo is with Paula, Arturo bought Valeria a house… What? Luis had no clue about it. He calls Art and leaves a message. He gives Graciela the news, how can his son be so foolish, spend so much money on a whim?
Susana is crying by her son’s bed while Jacinto apologizes for hitting him. The doctor says he will be OK. Susana still can’t believe someone shot at him. And all because of that damn girl.
Arturo takes Valeria back to her room. They are holding hands, he leans in for a kiss, but she pushes him away again. She goes into the room, but she is all flushed. Arturo isn’t any better, he says to himself that he’s never felt like this before.
In the room Mar wakes up and asks about Juan. Val assures her they will go to inquire about him in the morning.
Ofelia calls Val, she needs to answer even if Mar doesn’t want to talk to her. Val tells her mother she is with Ximena, working on her resume. She will spend the night. And Mar is OK, she spoke to her. She is with Juan, she doesn’t know if she will be back or not.
When she hangs up Val tells Mar that their mom feels bad for what she has done, she is very worried. Mar is scared of what will happen next, Val promises to be there for her.
It’s the next day and Luis asks Nick if he knew about the house Arturo bought. Why didn’t he tell him? Nick thinks Art did the right thing. Luis disagrees; Art can’t just throw money at every bad situation that he creates.
Paula would like Leo to stay home for a while longer. She is very happy with her front-page cover. She plans to start a new diet, she even found some spa that has special exercises. It is a bit expensive, though. Leo says no worries, use the credit card to pay for it. But as it turns out this spa only takes cash… Ha! Leo takes out his wallet, no questions asked. He thinks his wife is perfect just the way she is, but he wants to spoil her. Barf!
Nick comes by the vecindad in search of Arturo. Ofelia finds him at the house, why would Arturo be here? Val is not here either, this is no longer their home. Nick is the one to give Ofelia the news that Arturo bought the house.

I somehow missed mentioning the biggest event of the episode!
After their night together, Mar and Juan are having a blisfull breakfast, making plans about moving at the beach, wheer Juan can work for them while Mar takes walks and enjoys life. Yeah, that is their plan. No matter that for now they don't even have a change of clothes, since he is obvioulsy still wearing his bloodied shirt from yesterday.
He says he still has of the money he got from the jewels, it will lasts them for a while.
The problem is they are overheard by two goons who follow their car and attack them. Juan tries to protect Mar, gets shot in the chest, close to his shoulder and tthe thieves leave with the car. Mar is left alone with an once again bloodied Juan, screaming for help in the middle of nowhere. Some guy hears her and calls for an ambulance.

Adriana thanks so much. I wondered why a nondescript car was the target of the Motorcycle thieves. Them overhearing the conversation made it make sense.
I really doubt the barrio house cost much as it is in such disrepair. In the US some ambulance chasing lawyer would have had a settlement for Val at least equal to that. Not to mention his lies causing her to lose her job. He definitely owes her a roof over her head until she can get a job and start paying rent. Since everyone wants them out of the house they should all be thankful Arturo bought the house.

The Montagues and the Capulets (Ofelia, Jacinto and Susana's) hate fueled war make them culpable for their children's flight. Even now, Jacinto and Susana have learned no lesson.
The hijacking and shooting were hard to watch. The repercussions will long reverberate.

Cher Adriana,merci , for that outstanding recap of a surprising episode . You just never know what is going to happen next in this show.
Like Kat, I wondered why those guys on the motorcycle chose that car to pull over .
I was very impressed with Peniche in this episode. He immediate!y came to the rescue again offering to take Val to Mar. He was kind, positive, and empathetic. He got the girls a hotel room, but be wasn't intrusive. That scene where he took Val for something to eat, gave her his jacket, and shared his grief over losing his beloved mother was so well done . That embrace was poignant and felt real. Shared grief is powerful. Val finally left her guard down. Art was respectful , supportive, and comforting in this episode . I hope he has begun his hero's journey and that he and Val become true loves . I like to see everlasting love depicted. It does exist.
I got a giggle out of the scene of greedy Paula pulling bill after bill out of Leo's wallet . She plays him like a piano.
Kat, I always smile at your advice to these impractical people and their crazy actions. You are so pragmatic and no nonsense . You should be a life coach . You give solid advice ! Susan

I am glad that Aide seems to be okay. Does the doctor know what is going on with her? Stress?
Africa continues to play the very broad , goofy character of Fede. I was confused about her scenes with Checco's friend that little weasel. How are they connected , and is she, in turn, connected with the despicable Cal?
I guess Checco isn't as bad as I thought he was.
I wasn't surprised that Cal was still alive because I couldn't see the main threat disappearing this early in the game . Tino was clever to see the skull on Cal's hand and connect it to the skull on Checco's motorcycle.
I like Aide's look..fitted sheaths in solid bright colors . I also like Tino's look of tee shirts and open plaid shirts. I have always thought that Jose Ron was an attractive guy, and then I suddenly realized that he reminds me of my cousin Freddy._____ Susan

Thank you, Adriana. Your recap was more fun than the actual episode! Que dramatico!!! Most of it was so hard to watch!
Susana crying as if she would never see her son again -after he'd been gone for all of what? 6 or 7 hours? Then her crying begging Ofelia to drop the charges against Juan - because if she doesn't what? Mar will tell the cops she wasn't kidnapped, and the bogus charge will go nowhere anyway??? It was too ridiculous for me! My favorite part was when Jacinto actually told his hysterical wife that the lawyer said this wasn't actually a big deal. But then she just took a breath and went back to worrying she'd never see him again because of what Jacinto did.
And again, your more kind than me by calling in a chest shot - the looked like the shoulder to me, I was rolling my eyes at the whole dramatic 'don't leave me' 'don't die' scene over a shoulder wound in the street. I don't think either actor's performance is bad in general, I just don't think they pulled that particular scene off very well.
On a kinder note, I liked Art in the restaurant, he's been childish and immature in most of his pursuit of Val and I think Daddy is 100% right in his you don't buy a house on a whim talk, but in the restaurant, we see more depth of character and it's definitely more appealing.
Kat, interesting thoughts on how Art might owe Val because of the accident and the job loss. And maybe Luis would respect that if Art was thinking that way and laid out the argument the same way you did. But let's face it, Art isn't thinking about that, he's trying to get the girl by buying her a house and Luis and Val are both right - it's a bad move.
Ofelia trying to burn her hands because she hit Mar was just plain crazy!! This lady is losing it! I am tired of the little teasing statements of 'don't let her suffer what I did' What did you suffer??? Tell viewerville, even if you don't tell your daughters!!!!!
I loathe the 'My son is suffering and it's all your fault' troupe! At the beginning of the episode Susana knew that Juan ran away by because Jacinto beat the hell out of him by the end of it Juan got highjacked and shot because Mar exists!!! eyes rolling

I can’t believe Fed is so bad and Aidé is so clueless about It. And trusting her with your kids, that’s bad. She seems to manipúlate most of them with her words. I wish an adult would over hear her.
So glad Tino noticed the tattoo on Calacas and the bike emblem match. Hope he figures out the boyfriend is working for the bad guys. I hate he might have to tell Circe about her boyfriend. I doubt she’ll believe him.
I always liked José Ron and he’s the reason I’m watching this. I don’t recognize anyone else in this show.

Thanks Adriana, a great recap. In reading it I thought the Robert and shooting must have happened in a previous episode, so glad you added that on! I’m surprised he had money left over from the jewels. He should have returned it when he came home to his frantic parents. Maybe he would have if his dad hadn’t best him. Juan and Mar did not hit the jackpot with the parents they got.
Arturo was the perfect guy in this episode. I would think it will be hard for Val to resist him. Meanwhile Nick seems to be the only one that thinks buying the house was a good idea!
I don’t like Leo at all. I wonder if he was nice before he met Paula or if he was always like this. They really deserve each other.

I think Tino already is putting two and two together about Checo; I'm sure he will confront Circe but he needs to tell Aidé as this is a life and death situation and unfortunately for him, he is implicated in guilt by association. I don't think he would have hurt Emi or Scarlet. He did seem freaked out by what happened. Time will tell.

Papas #15 Part 1
Tino manages to get in to see Chalacas in the hospital thanks to the friendly cop on guard. Tino looks at the tatoo on the back of Chalacas's hand and wonders, and then quietly asks Chalacas if Checo was his accomplice, give me some sign if so. There is no response from Chalacas and Tino leaves. After he leaves Chalacas manages to wiggle a finger as a sign.
Rudolf and Clara Luz are upset after hearing that Pura's tumor has metastasized. Rudolf says it means that Pura is going to die soon. They decide to search Pura's bedroom for more information about any plans for Pipe.
Tino visits Aidé in the hospital and gets in bed with her with much smooching and pillow talk. It looks like he brought her a single red rose.
Unless I'm totally confused Aidé talks about the family outing that Tino organized, but we don't see the outing until later in the episode. Perhaps they were talking about his plans for the outing.
Rudolf and Clara Luz search Pura's bedroom and find some mysterious things. A wig, a passport in another name, a medical report from a hospital in the United States concerning her pancreatic cancer.
They seem more concerned about what would happen to Pipe if/when Pura dies. Rudolf says they have no responsibility to take him, perhaps Guzmán, his uncle.
Pura returned home after realizing she had left her phone at home.
A lttle more clashing between Tino and Facundo, interrupted by Scarlet.
Tino shares his suspicions about Checo with Bertha.
A little product placement for Santa Clara milk at breakfast and Tino talks up the outing he wants them to do as a family; at Ajusco, whatever that is, but Circe is scandalized, it's more a place for ordinary people, not the upper class.
Tino says it will be "chido" which is "cool" but maybe that's a lower class word, as Facundo points out Tino said "chido" and decides he will stay at the house, but Fede decides to go.
Guzmán brings Aidé work in the hospital though he thinks she should be resting. He also brings up the fact that he found out Facundo has a bloc of shares in Maxiclick. Aidé tells him they were a wedding gift, but that she so soon began doubting Facundo that she never told him about the shares. They worry a little that Facundo could use them sometime, and there is no way to take them from him now.
Lichita and family are having breakfast, Lichita wants to get to work and make a good impression, it's her first week. Chofis tells her she will take good care of the baby (whose name I have forgotten). Checo strolls by in a hurry to leave, but they stop him, and he, all smiles, shows the family a report that he is doing very well at the prepa. Chofis did look a little suspicious, but he got to leave.
Clara Luz and Pura talk about Pipe, but Pura doesn't level with Clara Luz about her illness or much else. They also talk about Rudolf, fairly noncommitally.
Tino and most of the family arrive at Ajusco, and Checo and his moto are there waiting for them, much to the delight of Circe. Tino is not so delighted, but Checo goes with them.
Chano and Chofis are at home, and I'm not sure of this, but I think Chano is making some sort of jello... something. Chofis looks amused but she tries to be helpful.
Tino and family have a fun time at Ajusco, which seems really nice to me. They play games, wander through a labyrinth, and generally have a good time. Tino tells Fede that he would like to know if Checo is actually the owner of his moto. She will look into it.
At Maxiclick Guzmán talks to Lichita, and I think he does a little flirting, maybe a little forward; he remarks on her good physical condition and figure.
The doctor visits Aidé in the hospital and tells her that she is doing well, but they want to implant a stent to improve her cardiac blood flow, a relatively small and safe operation.
Back at Aidé's mansion, Facundo annoys Scarlet, wanting to film her for whatever reason.
At Ajusco there is some family bonding, Ulises and Lila talk things over and get along well. Fede keeps trying to scare poor Emiliano, who doesn't really need any more scaring. Unaware Tino tells her that she would make a great mother (ha!). She prefers just to be an aunt.
Tino and crew have lunch or supper but Circe complains about the pedestrian food, Tino argues that it is excellent. Tino asks Checo about his food preferences and, I think, finds Checo is quite familiar with typical Mexican food... perhaps suggesting he's not so rich.
Circe wants to leave with Checo on his moto, but Tino puts his foot down and Circe reluctantly gets in the car to go home.
It looked like Tino followed Checo home, but just then he gets a call from Ulises who is dealing with his heights problem and off goes Tino. Ulises is on the wrong side of a railing high above ground.
Papas #15 Part 3 of 3
Circe wants to escape Tino's vigilance and texts Checo that they should go to his yacht. Checo says his yacht is in the shop or his cousins have it or something, so they decide to see each other somewhere that Circe has access to.
Clara Luz continues investigating who might be Pipe's father. She sees some old compact discs, one which has a Sharpie inscription on the cover... from Rudolf, "el gran y espectacular Rudolf" in 2019. I couldn't read most of it.
Oops! Subtitles to the rescue! "Guarda este CD como recuerdo vintage de que alguna vez fui tu estrella favorita."
Tino gets Ulises down safely. Fede tells Tino that Checo's moto is registered to Teodoro Rosales García, Calacas's real name. Tino thanks Fede for all her help, she has been just great. Fede looks pleased as all get out with herself.
Circe is nowhere to be found and Tino is off.
Meanwhile Clara Luz shows the CD to Rudolf and says she thinks he might be involved somehow. We see a flashback to six years ago, Silvana and Rudolf talking, Silvana saying something about her only chance to be a mother. I'm not sure where this is going...
Tino goes to Checo's home and finds Chano (yeah, lots of "ch" characters) and asks "Checo is your son?"
Meanwhile, out on the open road, Checo and Circe are zooming along the highway, wind in their hair and all that, and taking selfies, but then it looks like they are going to collide with a BIG truck!

Thank you for filling in so much I missed especially "The doctor visits Aidé in the hospital and tells her that she is doing well, but they want to implant a stent to improve her cardiac blood flow". Thus far, I've understood absolutely nothing the good doctor has said. I'm relieved she seems to be receiving good care and her condition isn't life threatening.
Tino's outing had a little bit of this, a little bit of that. ATV's, horses, a labrynith (which everyone seemed to smoothly navigate) and a bit of drama. I kept thinking Fed must have been hot with that trench coat in addition to the black leather dress and boots...Tino telling Fede she is good mother material had me rolling my eyes :)
So good for nothing Facundo has shares in Maxiclick. I'm sure that won't be a secret for long...Is he trying to push Scarlet into modeling to make a quick buck?

Las Hijas #19 part 1
Caught the flu bug from my grands, I think, so I slept all evening and night so I'm just now watching.
Susana kicks Mar out of the hospital waiting area with further abuse. Val takes her outside to the waiting Arturo. Mar is upset because she promised Juan she would stay by his side. Val agrees she tried but actions have consequences.
Paula has her spa treatment at a place where Priscilla happens to be. Is Priscilla a model? They mention shootings. Anyhow the real purpose was to let Priscilla know that Arturo bought his novia a house...
Juan awakes looking for Mar. Nope it's mama. Where is Mar. She left. Susana says she realized she can't stay by your side. More lies from Susana and he looks hurt and confused but probably believes her lies.
Arturo returns the sisters to the city. Val gives his his jacket back. He teases her some which actually earns a smile from her. He quickly takes a photo of her smile for posterity since her smiles are so rare. She demands he delete it, but he says never. They talk about the house. (Since she won't accept it perhaps he will stay in it. ) He calls her neighbor. She leaves and he watches her go with a smile on his face.
Juan insists on talking to Mar and asks his parents for a phone to call her (well he will have to call Val since their phones went the way of the robbers and his car). Susana says there is more. The police came to their house to arrest him for kidnapping. First you steal Grandma's jewelry, then run off with her and get a shot (ball in your shoulder) because of her. Juan insists that the arrest warrant is not Mar's fault but her mother's.
Luis visits Leo in his office asking if he's cancelled the exclusive with the magazine. Leo claims he's left them a message. I think Luis says he is going to deal with it as he leaves. Leo clenches his fists and his teeth as Dad walks away.
Ofelia prays to the Virgin for her help with Mar. Val and Mar return to Amparo's house. Her prayers are answered, it's the happiest day of her life. O apologizes for hurting Mar who in turn apologizes to her mother. Ofelia also thanks Val for bringing Mar back. The three hug, Mar joyfully, Val uncomfortably. ( I think she hasn't been shown much affection from her mother over the years.)
Priscilla is on the warpath and rushes to Cami's bedroom to learn the truth about the house buying. Cami says yes. Priscilla yells why didn't you tell me!? Cami calmly tells her for just this reason. Look at yourself. Calm down. Pris can't believe they are together (this girl needs to move on with her life!) and storms off.
Ofelia wants to slaughter the fatted calf, i.e. cook Mar's favorite pasta dish but Amparo has no pasta in her quite full larder. She needs to go to the market ( what about her job, I wonder). Mar insists she isn't hungry, don't bother, etc. ah the no work explanation comes. She is going to talk to señor Portillo today ( Val asks why, it's not important O says) and tomorrow they will return to the job.
Nick finds Arturo at his desk and asks where have you been. Arturo facetiously says I went home to change. Nick says you know what I mean. Dad knows about the house, I'm not sure how. Arturo is a bit concerned about that. Nick tells him I need you to concentrate on work (Arturo was actually scrolling through model photos, most of them in long gowns. Swimsuits would be more appropriate to showcase their potential athleticism methinks). Pick a model already! Or several if the choice is such a burden.

She actually has come to tell him about Arturo buying the house, but Val can't accept it. Her daughter's were raised with values and would never accept such an expensive gift. Luis looks thoughtful.
Priscilla is back home tossing pillows and purses and shoes about her bedroom damning Arturo, servants and of course Val. She looks at a photo of her and Arturo, and another on her phone of the 2 of them. Then a news photo with Val and Mar are on her screen ( I think it went by fast). She vows Val will never have Arturo.
Luis tells Ofelia that Nick wanted to help her daughter. Ofelia tells him buying even a humble house in their barrio compromised her daughter's good name and she will never accept it. Your son keeps pursuing her and she isn't interested in him. They both seem to agree this is a good life lesson for Arturo. The next dialogue confused me. Hoping you can help Adriana. Did Ofelia ask for an advance on her salary? The house was mentioned again and her close connection with Cecilia in her short time knowing her which poor Luis looked heartbroken at the mention of her. Anyhow...Help!
Val and Mar are being good houseguests of Amparo by sweeping and cleaning. Mar says don't bite my head off, but what is going on between you and Arturo. Val responds with a smile, honestly, I don't know. Mar digs a bit harder and gets Val to admit she really likes him.
Paula works on Leo about her modeling job with the magazine. I'm confused, but since I dislike them both I'm not going to look up sentences for this conversation. It seems she is pushing Leo to put himself forward more in the job as his dad likes results and is a straight forward kinda guy.
Val tells Mar liking Arturo is crazy. She thinks he is toying with her, and at other times he seems so sincere so she doesn't know how she should feel. He made her feel better after telling him about their dad. Mar says this means he is sincere. You never talk about dad. Give him a chance, Mar advises. What are you afraid of? Val is afraid he'll break her heart.
Arturo goes to his dad's office as the maid told him he wanted to see him. Luis questions him about buying the house. Arturo says he did it to help her. Luis says you can't buy yourself out of problems. She lost her job because of you. You have compromised her good name in the neighborhood, etc. Ah now I understand what Ofelia offered. She wants to buy the house back with her wages. Luis demands the house keys from Arturo. He'll buy it back from Arturo. Luis hopes he has learned his lesson. Think before you act.

The the dark haired lady is looking for her son amongst the Portillo boys. Photos are strewn on her table. She takes a wedding photo from a shelf of herself and her husband and kisses it as she wonders which of the boy's is their son.
Mar gets her pasta dinner. Ofelia tells them she may seem hard on them but she just wants what's best for them. Mar of course agrees, and Val says yes, in your own way. O says you deserve the best because I love you with all my heart.
Juan gets to leave the hospital. His parents want to take him home. Dad says I know I kicked you out but all is forgiven. We will recover together as a family. But don't go looking for that girl.
Morning breakfast at the Portillo house. Ofelia brings in the coffee which shuts down all the indistinct conversation. Cami, selfish as ever, hopes she doesn't get her sick as she was missing due to illness. Ofelia says she's good as new and has lots of work to do. Arturo comes in and says he's happy she is back. She keeps talking about work and pay. Arturo smiles and she winks at him.
Val and Mar are packing their things at Amparo's table when she walks in. She is told that Mom got our house back and is paying for it with her wages. Amparo is not surprised. Their mother always looks out for their well-being. She will miss their company though. After Amparo leaves for work Val asks Mar if anything happened with Juan. Mar avoids looking at her. (Who predicted a pregnancy? Most likely you are correct).
Juan is ready to leave the hospital. He needs to report his stolen car. Dad says that can wait. ( Didn't the police talk to him after the gunshot?
Perhaps he was still unconscious. I would think the stolen car would have been mentioned.) Police arrest him for taking Mar. Susana should have let Mar stick around to clear his name....
Mar tells Val it was the most splendid night of her life! Were you careful. Did you use protection?
Luis gives Ofelia the keys to the house and she promises to pay him back every cent. She is a woman of her word.
The three busybodies insult Mar as she and Val walk down the street. Val throws insults back.
Leo goes to Nick's office. Nick is now scrolling through photos of models. ( If you are a fashion house isn't the fashion more important than the model. Stupid TN business practice in action). Leo asks how things are going and offers his help. The three of them can work together. Leo has tons of ideas and they need to stop wasting time. Nick listens thoughtfully.
Ofelia returns to her hovel. But in this place I was given jewels ( her daughters). She reflects this is just temporary though. The girls return happy to be finally back home. Ofelia of course harps back to, you deserve so much better, as she caresses Mar's hair.
Arturo once again scrolls through his laptop looking at models. Shuts it and opens his phone to stare at Mar. Nick comes in. Have you chosen the model yet? Arturo says we have to have the right image. I've been working on it day and night ( I laugh). Nick tells him Leo is offering his help on the campaign. More business talk.
Cami is trying to get a hold of Priscilla. Gabriela. Asks how Cami is doing. She is worried about Priscilla. She is furious about Arturo buying Val the house. Graciela says it's now Luis house and we need to get used to the Garcia's presence as she is buying it back from him by working there.
Val isn't having much luck finding work. Mar tries to reassure her. Look how long it took mom to find work. Val tells her money isn't important in life ( as she desperately tries to eat a job to earn money). Mar says I don't believe you. If Juan had money mom would approve of him. We could be together. Val wisely tells her, study, get a career ( see how well that physical training work is going for you Val) and then get married. Don't complicate things. Mar tells her, the truth is she loves Juan.
Susana comes crying to Ofelia to please retract her claim against Juan. He's been arrested. Ofelia refuses and walks away.

Leo asks how things are going and offers his help. The three of them can work together. Leo has tons of ideas and they need to stop wasting time. Nick listens thoughtfully.
Ofelia returns to her hovel. But in this place I was given jewels ( her daughters). She reflects this is just temporary though. The girls return happy to be finally back home. Ofelia of course harps back to, you deserve so much better, as she caresses Mar's hair.
Arturo once again scrolls through his laptop looking at models. Shuts it and opens his phone to stare at Mar. Nick comes in. Have you chosen the model yet? Arturo says we have to have the right image. I've been working on it day and night ( I laugh). Nick tells him Leo is offering his help on the campaign. More business talk.
Cami is trying to get a hold of Priscilla. Gabriela. Asks how Cami is doing. She is worried about Priscilla. She is furious about Arturo buying Val the house. Graciela says it's now Luis house and we need to get used to the Garcia's presence as she is buying it back from him by working there.
Val isn't having much luck finding work. Mar tries to reassure her. Look how long it took mom to find work. Val tells her money isn't important in life ( as she desperately tries to eat a job to earn money). Mar says I don't believe you. If Juan had money mom would approve of him. We could be together. Val wisely tells her, study, get a career ( see how well that physical training work is going for you Val) and then get married. Don't complicate things. Mar tells her, the truth is she loves Juan.
Susana comes crying to Ofelia to please retract her claim against Juan. He's been arrested. Ofelia refuses and walks away.

I also felt zero pity for Susana, Diana! Zero! Both because she doesn't have a real problem and because if she did, she wouldn't know how to solve it. Juan isn't going to go to jail for kidnapping Mar unless Mar says she was kidnapped, and she won't, it doesn't matter what Ofelia says. So, it's just plain pointless and dumbly dramatic to beg Ofelia to drop the charges. If Susana had the tiniest bit of common sense she would go to MAR and ask her to go to the police station and clarify that Juan didn't kidnap her so the whole thing could end, but of course Susana is too busy crying, throwing fits, tossing Mar out of hospitals, and insisting Juan staying away from 'that girl'..... so yeah, no pity, zero, zip, nada.

Ofelia was smart in negotiating the house and the fact that Luis agreed with it shows he's a good-hearted man. Perhaps he felt some of the obligation you noted yesterday when Ofelia mentioned that Val lost her job because of Art? Maybe Mar should get the modeling job, would definitely contribute to paying off the house faster! Of course, it could become a wedding gift if Val ends up married to Art or to Nic.
Paula wanted Leo to get directly involved with Nic and Art's project - do basically what he did, make the 2 brother's project and 3 brother's project and then come up with the solution so it'll look like he was the only one who could. It's more or less the same plan as before except instead of waiting for Nic and Art to fail and the project to get reassigned to Leo, he can do it now. I wonder if Leo would be a good guy without Paula's influence. She feeds his insecurity and envy so it grows, but if it wasn't growing perhaps other qualities would?
I'm bored of Juan and Susana, and Jacinto and the Casita, and I really don't care what crazy Prissy wants to do to punish Val just because Art bought her a house, she didn't want him to buy... let's get more Val and Nic, so we can get some Val and Nic and Art; or find out more about Ofelia's past; or cart Cami off to boarding school (yeah I know she's too old for it, but a girl can dream)

Adriana, I was all set to look at the previous episode to see whether Mar knew about the warrant. It sure seems like the police could have taken her statement then and there and cleared the whole thing up. Juan should have gone peacefully. He is recovering from a gunshot wound.
As for the dark haired mom whose name I have forgotten, wouldn't a simple internet search of the various guys reveal their age. Unless she suffered from amnesia and doesn't remember when she gave birth (not an implausible scenario given it is a TN), such a search would likely reveal the truth. Still a lot of curiosity about which guy it is and why she lost custody.
The split with Mar will open up the Cami and Juan pairing I'm sure.

Facundo seemed to be wanting to prove on social media what a great dad he is. So poor Scarlett had to say her lines until he felt she was enthusiastic enough. And she never did get in the pool.

Mar returned to her mother's arms so fast, it's obvious she's not ready for the type of commitement she was preparing to make. Being nearly killed on the side of the road kind of killed the mood, am I right?
Juan will be out of jail after the necessarry hand wringing and screaming that Susana must make us endure. She is so unlikable!!

Enter Paula, who realized the family dynamic and fed into his insecurities. But I think he will come around, somehow help his family in a crisis and this will be his redemption story.

I just read that there will be a continuation made of this that takes place 5 years after this ends per People en Espanol. Filming is supposed to begin in April (both Ariadne and Jose have already signed on)and will air later this year (?)

Guzman may be a pedophile, but hopefully the real reason is that he had a crush on Luchita in school and Chofis reminds him of her at that age.
I was happy to see Chofis offer to watch little Ch? brother after school. That is what should have been done the other day when ChDad left the kids at maxiclik. I may rename the family ChDad, ChSon, ChNina, Chbebe. I've noticed they use a lot of colloquial words, many of them starting with ch also!

I finally got around to watching it. I paid close attention to the Rudolph/Silvana flashback. She told him he only had to donate the sperm. Also she cut them out of her life right after that so I am betting Rudolph is the dad. Better then than creepy Guzman.
Looks like Guzman's assistant is in on his dream of becoming the head of maxiclik.

Kat, thanks for catching that Silvana wanted Rudolf to donate sperm. If he actually did so then he must be aware he could be Pipe's father. If we see him soon plucking a few hairs from poor Pipe's head, we will know he is really worried. He definitely does not want to be the daddy.
