Geçmiş olsun, Nare23. Kidney stones are awful.
I'd like to put the blame on Reha, too. Deniz said they took him from the school gate. He said his dad drove off. Why wouldn't he wait until Deniz went inside the school?
Reha called his lawyer. I'm worried he's going to sue for custody citing Karsu's mafia connection. But IIRC, Reha tried to do business with Hasan Baba.
Ipek is a snob, she doesn't deserve Omer. Her friends didn't care that Omer is the son of a caretaker. And he is very sweet and good looking.
Yes, Maggie, why the heck is Hande still after Reha?
Türkan isn't really in financial difficulties. She tells Ipek it's better to pretend to have money trouble so they don't ask for anything. At best she could loan 5000 whatever currency. Filiz is on to her though.
Tilsim is such an unappreciative kid. Hard to like her.
Stuffing soaps into gift boxes. Funny Karsu and Irmak actually enjoy the tedious job. Merk visits to cheer them up with music and dancing. Irmak is taking the blame for all their financial woes.
Sure enough Reha files to take the kids. She calls him out on not making sure Deniz made it into the School. Lale is smiling in glee. These two need some anvils. Reha is right in being concerned about the kids though with the Mafia on their heels so I can't totally blame him. Merk tells Karsu they'll hire the best lawyer. He'll testify in her defense.
10 days later. At court. He's a married man. Hande finally got her ring. She looks so pleased with herself. Flashback to his proposal to Hande, then their marriage. Reha wins. He and Lale smile at each other. Only supervised visits every two weeks. The judge never even let Karsu speak from what we saw. Karsu. Is destroyed, goes crazy and attacks Reha. Well that won't help her case. Hopefully Tilsim and Deniz will be awful and Reha won't want them.
Karsu has to break the news to the kids. All the womenfolk rally around her.
This felt like a lot was cut. Why didn’t we hear Karsu’s part of the hearing? This really jumped ahead. For a pivotal plot turn they sure didn’t give it much airtime.
I’m annoyed with the writers. Before Lale listened to her brother with skepticism and often told him he was a horrible human being, the reason she doesn’t believe in men. Now she’s his cheerleader while he takes the kids from Karsu? There she is smiling big and saying yay. I just don’t buy her whole revenge on Filiz and Karsu storyline.
Why is Hande looking so triumphantly at Karsu? She already cheated with Reha and broke up their marriage, so she hardly needs to add more. I would understand if she looked smugly at everyone about finally getting her wedding ring, but why was her look directed just at Karsu? Also, the proposal is a big plot turn and should have had a longer scene. Maybe it did in the uncut episode.
Anyway, poor Karsu! How can things get any worse for our three ladies? Even the free kebabs didn’t seem to cheer them up, though Tilsin was relieved to have them. It was fun watching Hasan press his suit in the vegetable market. He didn’t get anywhere, but I have great faith that he will win Filiz over in the end.
Sergio Wins Without Trying?
Azul shows Iker all of the texts that she has sent her father. She sees that he has read hem but hasn't answered. Desperate for his attention, she feels like she is not important to him. Suddenly, he sends a text saying that they will talk in a few days. She answers wanting to see him today. She asks if he is in town. He says he is at his office (geographical locations drive me crazy in novelas so this is the best interpretation I could come up with: he is in the county seat of the county they are located in the state of Nayarit. That is where his new local offices are. La Peñita is the town they are located in. You can't beat maps! ) He is arranging things for his move back to Mexico City. Azul tells Iker that she is worried he will leave without talking to her. She wants to ask him not to leave her. So, she and Iker start on a trip to his office.
What she doesn't know is that Sergio is in his office talking to Juanjo. Juanjo wonders if Azul will come looking for him without her mother's permission. Sergio says if he could get the brat to his office then he would be able to prove negligence on Estrella's part for not knowing where her daughter is. For now, he does nothing.
Azul and Iker are on their way to the Alpha Sur offices using the navigation on Azul's phone. Iker is worried that they will get in trouble. She tells him to relax because she told her grandmother earlier that they would be studying together all afternoon. Iker says nobody would guess that they would have taken a bus to go find her father. She insists that she has to see her father before he leaves! As they go walking along, Iker thinks they are going in the wrong direction but Azul, with her eyes glued to the screen of her phone, forges on ahead following the phone's navigation. Azul starts to turn a corner when Iker is distracted by a boat in the harbor. Iker thinks he has been talking to her but when he turns around, she is gone. He starts to look for her. She thinks she has been talking to Iker but she suddenly notices that he is gone. She calls out his name and somebody runs by and steals her phone. She is alone and lost (and phone less!!). She starts to wander looking for Iker. Iker has noticed she is gone and cannot find. He makes his way to Sergio's office.
Sergio is more than happy to call Estrella to inform her that Azul sneaked out with her friend to see him at his office. They lost sight of each other and now Azul is not answering her phone. Estrella asks how can that be? Where is she? Sergio is more than pleased to tell her that Azul is lost because SHE doesn't know how to take care of HIS daughter. Estrella, her sisters, Fabián and Gabriel all meet with Iker and Sergio to search for Azul. Fabián cannot take it and says he is going to go notify the police. He tells Estrella she better hope that Azul turns up. The girl came to see him and she had no idea of what was going on. FINALLY, Fabián get everyone to stop arguing and to start actively looking for Azul.
Azul has wandered off the better beaten path into a questionable neighborhood where she asks a man if she can use his phone. He asks for the number she wants to call. (OF COURSE), she doesn't know her mothers phone number because it is on her phone that was stolen but she can communicate with her through her social networks. ALAS, he has no data plan on his phone but offers her the use of his computer at his house. She agrees to go with him but gets freaked out the closer they get to his place. She decides that she doesn't need his help. He is not taking NO for an answer. He grabs her and she screams. Fabián hears her and goes to her rescue. He knocks the guy to the ground and grabs her. He asks if the man did anything to her. She says no. He give her a hug and tells her they will go find her mother.
Yazmín is caught back in the loop just like that!
Fabián has a hard time getting a very drugged Yazmín and out of the house to school. She blames it on not being able to sleep the night before. She has a terrible time at class where she has to take a test. She is all jittery and looking sweaty. The test looks blurry. She is unable to finish more than half of the test in the time allotted. Her teacher notices that and also notices that what she has completed is full of errors. He tells her she will be taking the (evidently dreaded) make up test. She leaves laughing and totally out of control.
She meets with Javier to ask him what kind of pills he gave her. She has never felt like this from what he was giving her before. He says he gave her only the best of the best. Looking at her suffering, he smiles and remarks that this is the girl he was missing: euphoric and FREE! She needs to be who she is and let herself go! She says she doesn't plan on failing Oliver or herself. Javier warns her that when the effects from the pill begin to wear off she will experience terrible anxiety. She had better pop another pill because if she doesn't, she will fell like she is dying.
She goes home and finds out that Javier was correct. In the midst of her withdrawal, Gonzalo stops by to let her know that his ankle is better and soon he will be able to be out running with her. He asks why she is so sweaty. She lies and says she just came in having run. He asks if she is okay. She says she is. He leaves but looks concerned. She is left to suffer on her own.
The Quest for Iker's Identity
Gabriel takes the samples for the DNA test and leaves. He and Marina are optimistic about what the results could be. Adriana has been surveilling him and follows him in her car.
Nicolás arranges to see Marina at work and shows her some videos he has of her, Nico and himself. She is moved to tears. He says he has also decided to stay in town for a while. He has contacted a psychiatrist who specializes in amnesia and maybe they could get her appointment with him. She seems to agree. He keeps asking her if she remember anything. He also would like to take her back to Mexico City, when she is ready, so he can show her where she used to live, what they used to do and who their friends were. She seems to agree. Although emotionally overwrought, she tells him nothing about the DNA test.
Iker tells Marina that he doesn't like Nicolás because he thinks he is trying to steal her away from them.
Brisa makes a big deal out of seeing Marina and Nicolás in the restaurant. She doesn't know how Marina keeps ending up with these good looking guys. Lucky her!!! She goes to see Gabriel to report that Marina was at the restaurant talking to Nicolás . Gabriel tells her she can cut her act. He knows that she is trying to break him and Marina up but that isn't going to work.
Everything Else
Teresita tells Nemesio that since she is also a bread winner in their household, he can do his own cooking and chores.
Nemesio goes to see Estrella to officially resign. She is aggravated with him but also understands his desire be able to support his family better. She wishes him well and they shake hands.
Brisa comes on by to see her mother with a bag of groceries containing all of her family's favorites hoping to improve her relationship with her family. Meche tells her she can keep her groceries. She wants her back in the business with her family.
Fabián wants to give Estrella the use of two of his fishermen: Pascual and Valentín. She refuses. She doesn't want to be indebted to him and he knows why. He says that as union president it is his duty to help everyone out. It is a part of his job. That doesn't change her mind.
An excellent recap Jarifa! This was a tense episode where much occurred, the majority, very unsettling.
First and foremost, Azul is safe! Fabian to the rescue and not a moment too soon. "Sergio Wins Without Trying?" is (sadly) exactly right! Sweet little Azul played right into his dirty hands and Estrella (and Azul) will pay the consequences. It is inevitable that Azul will find out (some) truth about her father, but I hope the fact Sergio cannot stand her, his own daugher is never revealed. That would psychologically damage her, perhaps permanently.
Javier crawled his way into Yazmin's head and her addiction got the best of her last night. Yazmin's drugged, involuntary reactions and the sheer terror tainting her actions were almost impossible to watch. Karla's (Yazmin) acting was superb and all too realistic.
I am trying to be objective about Nicolas. "He keeps asking her if she remember anything... He also would like to take her back to Mexico City, when she is ready, so he can show her where she used to live, what they used to do and who their friends were". To be fair, he loved and lost her and rather miraculously, after many long years, here she is - in the flesh. They were in love and had a child he thinks perished together. But, she does not remember (although a bit of it seems to be coming back). I understand why Nicolas is desperate for her to remember but I do feel he is pushing her a little too hard. Wait til he finds out Iker is his son...That said, if Gabriel is to be the one she chooses (and I believe that will be the case), I hope she does regain her memory so that she all the past and present memories to make the right decision.
Loved Teresita standing up for herself much to Nemesio's shoc and awe!
So happy Meche stood up to Brisa who is still trying to meddle in all things that no longer concern her.
Jarifa, thank you so, so much - this was great!!
Diana
Maggie, there was nothing cut from the episode. I guess they wanted to drive home the point that Karsu was powerless to stop this. It was a temporary custody (geçici velayeti) order from the judge. So maybe there’s hope Karsu can get the kids back.
Be careful what you wish for, Hande. Reha is still using you. Have some dignity, woman!
Maybe Tilsim will be happy to live with her dad. Especially if she thinks it will lead to her parents getting back together. I think Deniz and Selin would rather stay with Karsu.
Thanks, Diana. I do not know what to make of Nicolás either. He does seem to be moving fast, though. Marina keeps asking for time and he keeps popping up but then again he is as desperate as she is. I hope Iker is not right about him.
I wonder if Nicolás is on to the fact that there is something going on with Yazmín. He looked like he wasn't totally buying her answers. ITA that Karla Gaytán did an excellent and realistic performance. Javier was sickening totally enjoying her fright and desperation.
Teresita's revolt seemed to be a long time coming and then she even showed up to offer her help to Estrella. Nemesio is no prize.
I was so glad that FINALLY Gabriel stood up to Brisa and let her know that he knew shat she was trying to do. Meche wasn't taken in either as you noted.
Should be interesting tonight!!
Even the sad episodes in this show have lighthearted moments. I enjoyed Merk and the sisters singing and laughing as they do a tedious, and probably low paying job. And then Filiz with the flower lady and then poor Hasan not knowing why Filiz is mad at him.
I was so upset with Reha, Lale, and Hande. The brothers and sister were gleeful at the thought of taking the kids away from Karsu. And then the three of them with their smug smiles when Reha won. We already know he won’t be able to take care of the kids full time. That will be Hande’s job. So I’m not sure why she’s so happy. I guess she figures she has a husband so all will be great. Not sure why she’s wants him. We know he wanted her so he could be a married man and have help with his kids. It will be interesting to see how the kids react. And I feel so bad for Karsu, she’s shattered.

Thanks so much Jarifa, that was some episode! We saw Sergio as the snake in the grass he is, but it seems everyone else doesn’t realize he set up Azul. And he didn’t even seem concerned when she was lost, too busy blaming Estrella.
Fabian will be a hero in Azul’s eyes, and I’m hoping that very soon she’ll realize how her dad really is. I am hoping Estrella will not marry him just to hold onto Azul. I’m really hoping his father will end up against his son and helping his granddaughter.
I did not realize what Gabriel said to Brisa. I knew Brisa was playing up Marina and Nicholas and was happy to read what he said to her. I feel like Marina should be with Nicholas, but I don’t want that mainly because I don’t want Brisa ending up with Gabriel. I also would hate for Gabriel to lose Iker. I’m wondering how the writers will resolve this.
Javier was at his worst last night. He seems to like a drugged up Yazmin better than the nice, drug free girl. Is it just so he can get sex from her? He doesn’t seem to use drugs so why want to be with a druggy.
I wonder why Adriana followed Gabriel. I am pleased that he told her Iker has a right to know who his parents are. He seems to be showing more maturity now than he was earlier. And he realizes he could lose Marina.
Liz
Thanks, Liz. The plot has thickened. . . So much going on. Yes, Javier is a mystery. Such a nasty guy revealing himself to be quite the sadist. I wonder if/when Azul will ever meet Sergio’s father. All I can say is that Sergio is one smooth operator.
Yazmín
Oliver visits Yazmín coming through the front door and not the window this time. He is summarily dismissed by a strung out Yazmín. He can tells that there is something wrong but she refuses to show him what (a pill) she has in her hand. She makes him leave.
She ends up going to Erika and asks if she can stay a couple of hours at the inn until she feels better. She took some sort of speed. She has a headache and tachycardia. She says she doesn't want to take the pill in her hand even though it might alleviate what she is going through now from the first pill. Erika tells her to take it and gives her a glass of water. She feels much better almost immediately.
She asks Erika about how she is feeling about Fabián. Erika tells her she is still stuck on Fabián. There is nobody in the world like her father. Talking about Fabián, Erika asks her for a favor . . .
Later, Oliver comes by her house to see her but she is fast asleep. The next day he calls her to see her but she puts him off until the next day. Oliver follows her to Javier's where she is complaining to Javier about the pills he gave her as he tries to tempt her with even more. Oliver knocks on the door. Javier answers. Oliver demands to know why she is with this crazy guy. Javier lies and says he is helping her study for a test. She accuses Oliver of not trusting her. Oliver says he will stay while they study. Maybe he will learn something.
Estrella
Estrella is overjoyed and relieved that her daughter is fine. She tells Azul that she just cannot go off on her own. All Azul can talk about is how she doesn't want her father to move back to Mexico City. (Sorry, but it I hear Azul moan one more time about missing her father, I will have to start FFwarding. The kid is getting on my last nerve.) Sergio doesn't miss a chance to blame it all on Estrella for not getting along with him. Sergio gifts Azul a new cellphone so they can stay in contact and even puts some photos of the both of them on it. He repeatedly has told Azul that he cannot stay in town because of HER MOTHER not wanting them to get along. Azul wants Estrella to apologize to her father so she will stay. Estrella says she cannot do that. Azul badgers her mother enough that Estrella ends up asking Sergio to stay in town for Azul's sake. He tells her that some changes would have to be made on HER part, if he were to consider it, like her not actively opposing Alpha Sur. She tells him no way. He thinks that she should think about her daughter's happiness first. Those are his terms. Azul wants to know if her father is going to stay. The answer is no but Estrella says her father loves her anyway. He gave her a new phone and his name.
Marina
Marina experiences the worst disappointment when the DNA test results show that she is not Iker's mother. Earlier she told Gabriel that she recognized her baby in the video. It is Iker. She naturally expected the test to be positive. What she doesn't know is that Adriana had JuanPablo fix the DNA test results just the way she wanted them but he won't be doing any of her personal tasks in the future. She reminds Juanjo he had better keep loyal to her and do what she wants because Sergio could always learn that the baby that Beatriz was expecting was not his but Juanjo's and his part in a murder.
Poor Iker has his usual dream about his mother but this time he can see his mother's face and it is Marina's. Gabriel reminds him it is only a dream.
Jarifa, another sharp, stellar summary illuminated by your wit and wisdom.
Gabriel wore an almost a beatific smile as he watched Marina looking at the video of her and baby Nico/Iker. They were fueled by hope but burned by disappointment, Marina's luminous eyes widening in disbelief as she read the (false) results.
"Poor Iker has his usual dream about his mother but this time he can see his mother's face and it is Marina's. Gabriel reminds him it is only a dream". Perhaps it's best; at least for now!
Fabian's timing continues to be off, arriving home wringing wet after being soaked by Erika's AWOL fawcet, only to have Estrella and Azul waiting for him.
"Azul wants Estrella to apologize to her father so she will stay". As if!
Pascual seemed extremely upset after he saw Perla and Fabian kiss but I couldn't understand exactly what he said.
Looks like Adriana has an errand boy as long as she wants. Juanjo has no sympathy from me but much contempt.
Jarifa, thank you so very much! It looks like you are going to post a Part 2 which I can't wait to read.
Diana
Fabián
Fabián gets talked into doing some plumbing work at the restaurant for Erika to please Yazmín. She has a leak in the kiitchen. Erika is all over him as usual. (IMHO he needs to be so much more forceful with Erika. He is still smiling and trying to ignore her sexual advances with a pained and embarrassed smile on his face. REALLY? It just spurs her on. Maybe he and Gabriel need to mutually support each other in "this opportunity area" they seem to share) Estrella brings some ceviche to Fabián's home as a thank you for saving Azul. She is unpleasantly surprised when Fabián and Erika walk in laughing about their plumbing misadventure. Estrella gives him the ceviche. Azul asks why he and Erika are both wet. He says they had a plumbing accidnet. Erika cannot wait to talk about how her 'favorite' plumber wasn't paying attention and then suddenly there was water all over. He later tries to explain to Estrella that he was only helping Erika with her plumbing because she and his daughter are good friends. Yazmín asked him to help her. She doesn't want his explanations. Estrella doesn't want to hear about it. (Neither do I!) He thinks she is jealous. She denies that. He says he is there trying to talk to HER. She is done talking to him and invites him to leave. After he leaves, Azul tells her mother that she knows that she likes Fabián a lot. She also knows that she and her father are never going to get together to form a family. She realizes that Fabián makes her mother happy and wants them to be together. Estrella says they are never ever getting back together again.
No PDA's Puhleeze!
Pascual tells Valentín that they will have to find a replacement for him at work after he witnesses Valentín and Perla kissing. He knows that is a normal and natural thing for them as a couple but he can't stand to see it. He just can't!
Thanks, Diana, somehow the second part didn't post but I managed to retrieve it. I think I go it all.
"Estrella doesn't want to hear about it. (Neither do I!)" had me laughing out loud Jarifa! Just great but "Maybe he and Gabriel need to mutually support each other in "this opportunity area" they seem to share" was even better!
"No PDA's Puhleeze!" HA! Pathetic Pascual better stiffen his spine and get over it...if not, he'd best be on his way back to mama. :)
Excellent Jarifa; thank you...
Diana
I agree, Maggie. This was so sad. I kept yelling at the TV throughout. I am beyond furious at Reha and Lale. The kids, including Tilsim, were so upset at going live with their Dad and his new bride. Tilsim was loyal, which must have comforted Karsu. The big house and pool may be hard to resist, though.
Too bad the soaps job was a fraud. Our girls are in very difficult circumstances. I might be wrong, but I sensed that Turkan’s daughter was still a little put off by her mother not helping out financially.
My heart is broken about Atilla. But, thinking realistically, there was no future for them. His violent past (remember Deniz’s stepfather) made a normal, idyllic life with Karsu impossible. Atilla was unfortunately “it” when his father went to jail. He had to run the business and this involved murder and violence.
The actor is so talented that he made me want him to succeed in spite of the violence. In a perfect world, he and Karsu and kids would have found happiness. But, in reality, I have to agree with Karsu. She showed tremendous strength in reaching that decision and making the break final without dragging it out. Interesting that she decided Hasan’s disapproval of a mother with three kids may have been because of having to protect them in their violent world.
I hope the kids drive Reha and his new bride crazy!
Babachita
Babachita, good points all. Silly Irmak paying up front for the soaps. That would have been a red flag in my eyes. Maybe Hasan will be the savior in the end.
I liked Filiz saying we married well young and didn't have to work, now we need to work to support ourselves there are no jobs (or skills).
Karsu should have gotten something from Reha in the divorce. Suddenly he has all this money (first to restart a business, now to buy a big house, did he sell the house in Adnan?). I wondered with Lale living in the current place where all the kids would fit. So the Mafia finding the kids on Reha's watch may be Karsu's salvation, though it would be argued Karsu was the one that brought them into it. Reha needs to be found to be a Mafia member too! He did hope to join Hasan's business early on.
When VIZ first launched it was advertised that you could get it free (with ads) or you could pay for a subscription with no ads. I installed it but never used it.
I while ago I wanted to see an episode from the night before and was able to see it, but boy, those ads are a pain. Then later I wanted to go to an older episode (about a week before) and found I needed to subscribe to see it. Drat! It showed that there were two pay levels, one with ads (who would pay for that?) and another, a tad more expensive, with no ads.
My question is: Where is the cut-off time for previous free episodes? Can you just see the previous night’s one, or does the cut-off go further back?
Maggie, I have ViX on 5 devices. I downloaded it a few years ago. I was pleasantly surprised that on my old Roku device on our old TV it let me watch Fatmagül without commercials! It was wonderful. But on the newer devices ( tablet 2 year old TV) I have to suffer through the commercials. I don't know how far back free episodes are as I catch the ones I miss on my DVR. I have noticed they may be good for a week on ViX, but aren't available for several days after they first air.
I also downloaded the Telemundo and Univision apps to catch things if the DVR misses it (usually due to them turning an episode into a 2 hour version). I sometimes get knocked off of our daughter's YouTube TV account when more than 3 people try to watch. She has shared it with us, her father in law and brother in law, so 9 p.m. often means I can't watch until someone goes to bed! That is when ViX and Telemundo come in handy. I need to find another old engrossing show that has great recaps!
