I could not translate much. I’ve tried to provide some brief notes which may or may not be accurate.
In a flashback from months ago, we see Hernan and Melina plotting, which seems to be related to the cell phone El Chacal found.
El Chacal and Melina are interrupted by Hernan who explains she is Iker’s mother. El Chacal realizes they are thick as thieves. I think he wants in on the action. Later, El Chacal gives Hernan a USB which is a sure harbinger of something devastating to come. Tino shows up and asks El Chacal who he is. Melina shows up to feign being faint and Tino goes to help her inside. It’s plain to see he is disconcerted with so much going on and the loss of his mother. Uh oh, he sits on the bed to talk further about music and Maximax.
Tino seems to lay down the law to Bill as to when he can reveal his true identity to Emi. In another scene, Bill talks about his brother Ronnie who had the same health issues as Emi.
Clara Luz, Rudolf, Prisma and Nazario discuss Pipe and Natalia being siblings. Is he angling for a job at Maximax?
Chano tells Serena something about Lichita, the word “divorce” is mentioned but not sure in what context.
Gisela, Aide and Alexander go shopping. Gisela’s attention is diverted by some jewelry and when she turns around, Alexander is gone! She panics, looking for him when he comes out of a shop with Aide! She is verklempt.
Circe is talking with a friend about Checo. Said Checo talks with a woman and takes pictures of people waiting in line. All of a sudden, he freezes, flashing back to a closeup of a gun going off. We see blood splattered on the pavement.
Uli steals a kiss from Chofis…Melina calls Serena (?)
Aide and Tino catch up and start bickering right away. Bill and Adriana meet up. She says “congratulations.” Bill seems uncomfortable but I can’t shed any light on their conversation.
Diana
Iker asks his mother if he can get her anything. Tino approves of Iker's musical aspirations . Iker asks her a question and Melina flashes back to her recording a conversation in the hall; when Iker comes out of his room, she scurries back into hers. It was then and there that Tino saw him and we now know that this is why Iker was blamed for the recording! Of course, Iker wouldn’t rat out his mother. She tells Iker something about a presentation for Maximax he looks confused; Tino comes in and conversation stops. The poor kid.
El Calacas is throwing money at one of the denizens and calls someone.
Gisela is deciding on her dinner choices when Hernan interrupts, cozying up, calling her “princess”.
Tino and Aide say something about the bank and Melina eavesdrops in plain sight. Aide and Gisela argue.
Nazario seems to comment on Pipe’s behavior for some reason. Rudolf and Nazario have a scene later I can’t interpret.
Checo and family have dinner, Checo and Chano verbally sparring; Chofis has had enough! Later, she goes to the gym and warns Serena off, talking about her mother. Serena seems deflated.
A montage of scenes, Circe thinking she sees Checo; Aide and Gisela playing with Alexander; Iker playing the drums with Tino there, Emi watching and then leaving quietly. Gisela has words with Melina.
Hernan is at a computer and when we see Aide and Tino’s pictures on the screen we sense a rat. Melina comes in and give him a scrap of paper…All of a sudden, Aide calls out to Tino; it is clear Hernan has hacked their account which is now empty…
Diana
Juan David muses about the love of his life to the good padre.
Juanita shows up at Manuel’s and starts taking orders. A smitten Hugo smiles from afar (behind the bar). He later helps her bus a table.
The bus driver (I don’t know her name) stops by but the father hustles her out.
Carolina and “her boys” Andres and Moises are on a field trip. The boys skip stones as she smiles and daydreams a bit with a smile on her face.
When Angelia shows up at work, she cold shoulders Juan David. She returns the gift he gave her, much to his consternation. They are done! She moondoggies him as he looks like he is going to cry. Ahhh, then he lip locks her and all is forgiven as many arduous kisses ensue.
Lucia has baked a luscious chocolate cake and Franco is suitably impressed. They talk to Manuel to see if he is interested in purchasing them for the restaurant and he likes what he sees. Franco invites her over and she hesitates because of Lucas, whom he lives with. Lucas tells Franco he has no problem with her visiting
Nestor shows up at the clinic and Rosalia tends to his bloody hand wound. Another potential candidate has supplied DNA material!
Moises and Oscar have a nice talk; as they eat, Oscar is happy he is pleased with his classes. I believe Moises identifies a leaf; Oscar seems thoughtful and suitably impressed.
Nestor comes to the restaurant and Juanita smiles. Nestor stares at her (back to them) leaning over Hugo to do so Hugo senses a rival and his hackles are up…
Nestor goes to the clinic and finds one of the potential DNA tests Rosalia has squirrelled away. He puts two and two together and confronts Rosalia but she grabs the test and bids him goodbye as he scowls.
Gloria says good night to a smitten Manuel as the women stare.
Franco samples some of Lucia’s cake and he moves forward to kiss her. Alarmed, Lucia says “no”, then “I’m sorry” and backs up. She takes her cake and leaves. He is angry with himself for moving so fast. The next morning Franco and Lucas have breakfast and he tells him what happened. He is clearly charmed.
Oscar is sitting in bed thinking of Carolina as he berates himself for doing so. Carolina is doing the same!
Carolina and Oscar talk, I can’t follow the conversation but there is a lot of smiling.
Diana
Lucia shows Rosalia her engagement ring (is she offering to pawn it?) Lucia brings Manuel a delicious looking white cake with nuts.
Carolina and Sister Celeste talk but I couldn’t follow. Oscar hears the word “lawyer” and comes in and questions Carolina. He seems to feel it is his house and he has the right to know. He asks if she has a legal problem. She seems to talk her way out of it and leaves to resume her classes.
A cranky Nestor visits the good padre asking him about Rosalia. He is none too happy.
Gloria comes down for coffee and the bus driver starts to tease her. Gloria acts mortally wounded and disrespected and is sharp tongued.
Rosalia hands the good padre her DNA envelopes and asks him to go to the lab. He tells her Nestor was by and doesn’t seem pleased. She talks about secrets of the confessional. Lucas comes in at that point asking for mail. Rosalia leaves behind him. She later tells him she is looking to find her father. Their attraction is obvious.
Andres asks his mother about his father. Carolina looks at him as Oscar comes in, asking about Andres’ father. The kids are adorable.
Gloria comes into the office and tells Angelina she wants to talk to Juan David alone. She asks what his intentions are toward her daughter. She natters on leaving him open mouthed. Angelina comes back and is worried about what her mother said. He assures her all is well.
Oscar (having no business to do so) asks Andres what the problem with his father is! Oscar hands him his phone…Oh noes, Andres doesn’t want to cause any problem and with that starts dialing and I assume he is calling his father!!
I hope most of this was relayed correctly although I could not follow everything. Thank you for your comments and insights.
Diana
Looks like Doménica Montero with Angelique Boyer and Marcus Ornellas and Brandon Peniche is set to air at 9 ET next month when Los Hilos ends.
Diana
Things are snowballing now. Manuel and his ex are getting very close. He still believes Ramiro’s lies.
Carlos is stuck with Tamara who lost her baby in the accident. Alonso, who seems a really nice guy, is very close to Cristina and didn’t bolt after hearing about the pregnancy. As I said, Manuel’s getting dangerously close to his ex, not that I blame him!!! The Padre is still emotionally attached to Carolina.
What needs to happen is for Carolina to tell Manuel the while story, but it may be too late.
Ramiro knows some of the story but is staying silent for revenge.
Carlos knows half of Carolina’s story.
Leonardo knows about Tamara’s lies and has done some other research.
Alonso knows about the pregnancy.
They all need to talk and get this ball rolling to its fast approaching end!
Babachita
Babachita: I'm interested to see Ramiro & the villains stirring the pot to take down Carolina, who needs some juicy KARMA.
Tamara is NUTS & crazy.
Confident about Carlos & Cristina being endgame when all is said & done.
Diana: Carolina's half-truths are becoming irritating LOL.
Thank you, Diana!
As Carolina and Oscar stumble around each other after the awkward embrace on the banks of the river, she asks him if he wants to dance. He says he didn't know that nuns dance. She says of course they do. What about him? He answers that years ago he was the king of the dance floor. They used to call him John Travolta. She would have liked to have known him back then. He asks her if she would like to dance now. She reluctantly admits that it wouldn't be appropriate. They share one last gaze filled with longing.
The bus driver stops by asking when the parts for her bus are coming so it can be repaired. Padre Gabriel has no idea.
Néstor was bitten by a horse he was trying to give an injection to. Another time a sheep kicked him in the face and he ended up with a black eye. No painkillers are necessary for Néstor!
Franco tells Lucía she can come over to his place and bake her cakes there. He and Lucas are not there during the day. She insists he talk to Lucas first. Lucas has no problems but jokes that one day he could be moving out because of Lucía moving in.
The question is why would Nosy Néstor suspect that a DNA test was being done on him. Is he hiding something?
Lucía is planning on selling the ring.
Celeste tells Carolina that she contacted a law firm and a lawyer costs an arm and a leg. Celeste wants to sell the house their parents left them. Carolina disagrees. Half of it belongs to Celeste. Celeste doesn't care. If they can prove that Carolina is innocent, Carlos will end up in jail. Is Carolina ready to deal with that? Carolina's answer is to find a good lawyer. Nosy Oscar begins his inquisition. She lies saying that one of the women who came with her needs a lawyer.
Rosalia says that her ethical code as a doctor is that same as that of the priest in keeping the secrets of the confessional.
Lucas also doesn't know who his father is and wants to go to Naples to search.
ITA how inappropriate it is for Oscar to stick his nose in Andrés' relationship with his father. He even encourages the kid to lie by omission telling him that nobody has to know about him making a call to his father. Sorry to say but I am not liking the Oscar character at all.
Jarifa, thank you for insightfully threading the needle and explaining the many loose ends from last night. Everything you added was really helpful.
"They share one last gaze filled with longing" had me sighing away. John Travolta? Who'd have thought it? It's conversations like these that add so much spice to the storyline.
Looks like the ranch denizens don't care for Nestor. Animals are a great judge of character so this does not portend well for him! Yes, Jarifa, I would say he is definitely hiding something. Or somethings! :)
"Nosy Oscar" has way overstepped his boundaries! Carolina does not need to answer every overly curious and inappropriate inquiries.
I'm so appreciative of your providing "Rosalia says that her ethical code as a doctor is that same as that of the priest in keeping the secrets of the confessional". I was wondering what the rest of it was...And, it's very true.
Yes, not only has Oscar intruded where he should dare not tread, he wants Andres to keep quiet about it! What a breech of trust. I'm not seeing much of a galan here at all :(
Diana
I’m reading the wonderful recaps and comments, but one day late because this TN is on at the same time as Lejos over on Telemundo. I tape it and watch the next day. That’s why I haven’t been commenting – too late!
I have a question about the basic premise though. Who actually lives in this town? When the story description came out before the TN started, they said that the ladies are coming to a town with 100 single men and no women for them. I fully expected the town to be a dusty pueblo with a lot of men in equally dusty work clothes. But no! Look at that cute town! It’s as immaculately clean and freshly painted as Downtown Disney. There are perfectly kept potted plants on the sidewalk. Astonishingly, all the trucks are shiny clean too and the men are neatly dressed.
So is it a town where only 100 people live, or is it a town that has married people too somewhere? Who keeps it so nice? How can a town of 100 support a restaurant? Why are there buildings of more than one story? When you have a lot of space, you don’t need to put second stories on buildings. And why are the buildings so tightly clustered, right against each other? If you have space you can sprawl. The town looks like a mini urban place.
Are there other citizens we never see?
Maggie, there is a sign in the promo poster that says 100 men, 0 women. That is about it. Go figure! I have the same questions you have. There is a lot of disbelief to be suspended but it is a dramedy so I guess almost anything goes.
Thanks Diana, I enjoyed your recap. I don’t have to much to add. I was what Hernan and Melina were plotting. As far as I know the USB was going to help Hernan get in the bank account of Tino and Aide, or their business. Which he ended up doing!
Rudolf gave Nazario too much information. Nazario asked if the house was there’s and he said it actually belonged to Pipe as Serena left everything to him. Nazario said either then it’s Natalia’s too, or it should be her’s too. I’m pretty sure he knows there’s money involved too. Rudolf also thinks he’ll be able to get him on at Maximax. Not Rudolf’s brightest move.
I feel sorry for Tino and Aide. The freeloaders living with them are using them and Bill might really care about Emi but Paulina, or is it Adrianna(Emi’s mom) wants the money her ex left to Tino and Emi. So a lot of people want money from Tino.
Liz
I feel sorry for Carolina, which I never thought I’d say. But Ramiro’s lies sent Manuel straight to his ex. And when she erased the call from Carolina from his phone I decided I didn’t like her. Now three people are out to ruin their marriage. And RRomina is horrible to her mother. She and Ramiro are both blaming her for Omar’s death, which is wrong. If anyone is to blame it’s the thugs that were following them.
I’m waiting for Christina to tell Salvador and the nun what Ramiro told her. Which should make them wonder why he came in and told the story about reuniting mother and daughter. I was also hoping Salvador would realize the man wanting to see Christina was Ramiro. He knows they both lost sons. What are the odds of two different men looking for an orphan and both recently lost sons. Actually, two men looking for a 20ish girl should be coincidence enough.
Liz
Thanks so much Liz.
No surprise Paulina wants her deceased ex's money, but I can't figure out how she is going to maneuver that...
Thanks for this golden nugget which I hadn't understood: "Nazario asked if the house was there’s and he said it actually belonged to Pipe as Serena left everything to him. Nazario said either then it’s Natalia’s too, or it should be her’s too". Very telling.
Diana
Maggie, loved "Downtown Disney".
Great questions to which I have no anwers. I think Jarifa nailed it in her response, "almost anything goes". I think we need to "go with the flow". :)
Diana
Diana, thank you for the recap. As Liz stated , Tino and Aide have a house full of freeloaders. I can't believe that Tino's own father is trying to steal money from his son !
. I still can't figure out how Hernan connected with Tino's one night stand . I also wonder Just is her son . Altair is doing her usually wicked glances and smirks as she sneaks around eaves dropping .
The police guy is scary . Why is he after Hernan? This show has gotten confusing .
It is fun seeing Erika in this crazy role .she is usu ally cast as the good girl.
P.s. Looking forward to a new show with Angelique Susan
Way too many quick scenes and rapid-fire dialogue. My only option was to capture the little I thought I may have understood or what seemed to be a reasonable guess. Much was omitted.
Hernan hesitates outside a casino, arguing with himself…we flash back to Aide and Tino realizing their bank account has been hacked and they’ve been cleaned out. Aide holds her chest as he anxiously tells her to calm down. Aide gets on the phone…
Hernan gives Melina (who has now shed all her medical assistive devices, looking the picture of health) a bank card (?) and Uli comes in to interrupt their (indistinguishable to me) conversation.
At Pipe’s, Nazario (who is always eating) gets edgy about Pipe’s trust fund; I believe he demands part of it for Natalia (more like for himself).
Chofis is still talking with Serena whose responses are soft and kind. She sticks out her hand to Chofis who stalks away. In a later scene, it seems Serena has been helping Melina with PT. Her tio Aurelio works at the house. He and Gisela introduce themselves. After, Gisela and Aide get in a tiff which Tino tries to smooth over. Aide is upset she is defending her mother.
More texting between Valerio and “Pancake”. Blech. Then, Checo texts her. I think she mixes up her texts and sends them both the same message.
Aide is on the phone with the bank asking about recouping the money. He explains there is a process, much to her frustration. Gisela comes in and in the following scene, Tino tries to calm Aide down.
Hernan puts something under his mattress as Iker comes in. El Chacal wants a meeting.
Pipe is engrossed in his music when Clara Luz tries to talk to him. Rudolf gives the win to Pipe.
Prizma is with Natalia and Nazario in the marketplace. He combs his mustache and talks again about the money.
Hernan and Melina text each other. We then see him outside the casino (again) and it appears he is well known to the casino staff as he is barred from admittance.
Diana
Iker watches Scarlet do her “influencer” schtick. It is obvious they are attracted to each other.
Circe is at work in the dress shop or rather, hardly working as she texts her friend. We next see her in sunshine yellow (“borrowed from the shop I’d wager), sitting outside with Checo. She congratulates him on his photographs. Later a waiter walks by and accidentally spills tomato sauce down the back of her dress.
At a hotel bar, Bill looks at a picture of Aide and Emi. He focuses on Aide. Paulina slithers into the seat next to him, seeing what he is doing. He tells her Aide is an excellent mother, gets up and leaves.
Tino tells Melina what happened to his and Aide’s money. She feigns sympathy. Tino, Iker and Melina head out for some fun. It was nice to see Tino have his arm around Iker. El Chacal films them.
Hernan does find a casino that will take him and his money. At first, he starts winning but then inevitably starts to lose. He loses control and starts acting like a madman and is physically tossed out. He then shows up at home and after Tino and Iker depart, he frantically tells Melina what happened (I think).
At “Silente”, Circe’s posh job, she talks with her amiga, Lorena. The manager brings over the yellow dress with the stain and throws it at her. Her boss threatens to call the police. Circe insults the clothing and it seems she leaves before she can be fired.
Tino, Uli, Iker, Emi and Alexander are together. Emi seems out of sorts as the others leave. Bill texts him and he confirms a meeting.
Chofis and Checo talk. I didn’t understand much except did laugh at Checo’s poses.
Gisela is wedged in the back seat of the car trying to retrieve her purchases. Aurelio helps her out of the car. They are thisclose and sparks start flying.
Circe gives her mother much disrespectful lip and acts like the out-of-control brat she was in the first installment. Tino comes in hearing all the screaming…Circe goes on a tirade and Aide collapses.
Kindly fill in and/or correct; your help is greatly appreciated.
Diana
Thanks Susan!
I'm also confused about how and why Hernan and Melina are plotting together, especially Hernan who seems to have no qualms about hurting his own son.
Erika seems good at heart just rather over immersed in furthering her interest. I cannot fathom that she almost never saw her grandchildren or her own daughter.
I find this storyine interesting but unfortunately, extremely confusing.
Diana
Mercifully, Carlos doesn’t answer his phone. “Hola pa, it’s Andres” is the message.
Andres had a great time with the animals and is all smiles when he returns to his mother. Oscar and Moises take their leave, Carolina oblivious to what has transpired.
Oscar’s phone rings and when he answers, Carlos digs right in, telling him Carolina is his esposa! He asks if Oscar is her amante. Carlos threatens to call the police as Oscar stares at the phone and hangs up.
After the fact, Andres goes to his mother’s room and tells her about the call as her face falls. She is sweet to her son and takes him back to his room.
Juan David complains to the good padre about his problems; it doesn’t appear there are any obvious solutions. Lucas confesses to Manuel that he likes Juanita. Manuel recommends romance and chocolates.
Oscar arrives to talk with Carolina. What is the problem she asks. He says he talked with Carlos - Andres’ father! He says he wants the truth. Carolina makes something up as to “Carolina’s” true identity, I believe she says Andres’ mother is Juanita’s sister. He seems to agree not to talk to Carlos further. She rushes forward and hugs him; he seems shell shocked and unable to move. They wish each other a good night.
Dear Father Gabriel offers a box with a wedding ring to Juan David. It was his mother’s…Juan David hugs him, extremely grateful. He says something about a millionaire I didn’t get.
Hugo, who seems to have had but a few conversations with Juanita, asks her to be his novia. She graciously declines citing her nephew but wants to be friends. She gives him a warm smile and he nods although it is clear he is devastated.
The next morning, Oscar and Moises arrive. Carolina smiles sweetly and tells Oscar that Juanita is very grateful. She smiles and an uncomfortable Oscar takes his leave.
Father Gabriel gets a mail delivery and it appears the DNA tests were in the outgoing mail.
Lessons continue, today it’s learning the names of various shapes.
Diana
Gloria sits at the table while the other women work in the kitchen. Juan David procures the sparkler and getting down on one knee, asks Angelina to marry him. “No” is the shocking answer! She leaves as mama Gloria is in shock. (Not sure what her reason is for declining; does she feel Gloria pushed him into it?) You don’t like the ring he asks. Yes I do it’s precious she answers. He offers it again and slides it on her finger. He kisses her hand and she is overcome with emotion; kisses ensue.
Hugo goes to Manuel for advice; he is supportive and encouraging.
Nestor barges into Doctor Rosalia’s office; I believe he threatens her.
Carolina comes across a brick house and opens the gate when Oscar shows up, annoyed. He asks why she isn’t in class then asks her why she is there at his private property. It becomes clear it is the house where he raised Franco. She asks about his mujer but he won’t answer, asking her again about her classes. She apologizes, turns on her heel and leaves. He gives the house one last sad, stoic look and then leaves.
Gloria wants a word with her daughter but whatever was said eluded me. I think she tells her she knows/saw her leaving Manuel’s house the other night. Gloria puts her hand to her heart as though she was wounded.
The bus driver seems to call a garage to ask when she will receive the necessary parts to fix the bus; she doesn’t get good news.
The father tries valiantly to tell the boys a joke. Oscar and Carolina arrive and she takes the boys to class. The padre tells Oscar to be calm…he has a letter from Eva his mujer!
Manuel comes upon Gloria and Angelina talking. I didn’t understand what they were saying but Manuel was very upset and turned away. Can anyone translate?
All of a sudden, Oscar goes crazy and burns the letter! He orders Carolina to leave, which she does, quickly. Moises is upset and asks what’s wrong. Oscar stalks off. Lucas and Nestor watch Oscar flying by on his horse.
"Are you all right" Juan Davied asks Angelina. Something else about the millionaire again. They passionately kiss.
Nestor finds Oscar alone, licking his wounds. Oscar tells him “Eva” and Nestor looks suitably grim. I think Oscar says he can’t believe he heard from her after all these years. He despises her and to him, she is dead. Nestor watches him ride away.
Father explains to Carolina that he gave Oscar a letter from his mujer. I believe Carolina says she abandoned her hijo…
Hugo tries to cheer up a depressed Manuel. He’s upset with what he heard but as I didn’t understand it, can’t fill in this blank. Whatever Hugo’s advice was it cheers him up considerably and they hug.
“Franco” Andres calls out, handing him the fragment of the letter. “Mi mama” he immediately cries! Oscar comes in and Franco explodes asking him why he destroyed his mother’s letter! Oscar stares stonily.
Another great episode! I look forward to your insights and comments and hope you might be able to fill in the blanks regarding what Manuel overheard and why Angelina turned down Juan David’s proposal.
Diana
Thank you, Diana. Yes, this was another very entertaining episode. Poor Manuel. The sooner the better that she find out how Gloria really is: only about the $$
Carolina explains to Oscar that she is looking for a lawyer for "Carolina." Carlos is a criminal. Oscar asks Carolina how she got involved in all of this mess. She says because nuns are there to help people, not to judge them. Juanita asked her for help for her sister and she couldn't deny her request. She warns him that if he tells Carlos where his son is, it will weigh on his conscience. The next day, he tells Carolina that if Juanita wants, he could put her in contact with a lawyer to help her sister. She thanks him and he smiles. She asks if the way he is smiling means that he is over his hatred of women. He quickly answers that the only reason he is doing this is to help out Andrés. He shouldn't have to go through this. He looks like he is ready to linger a bit longer but decides he has to get to work.
Yes, Angelina feels like her mother forced Juan David into proposing to her and also she wants them to get to know each other better before they get married.
Franco is lending his vehicle to Lucía so she can go to town and sell her ring. He is excited thinking that means she is over her ex.
Padre Gabriel looks at an envelope and sees the return address. He cannot believe who it is from.
Nestor comes into Rosalía's office for some vet supplies. She tells him to basically mind his own business. DNA tests are confidential She questions his ethics because he was snooping through her things and talking to Father Gabriel about it. He angrily suggests that from now on, they only talk about business. She agrees.
Gloria lectures Angelina on how to get the most $$$ out of men since Juan David now has given her a ring. Angelina tells her to stay out of her love life as she is staying out of hers. When Gloria tells her that she has no love life, Angelina laughs tells her that everyone knows that she spent the night with Manuel. Gloria denies it saying she would never settle for that lowlife, old man. Well, Manuel is right there overhearing it all. He is upset and leaves.
The bus driver calls the garage to check on her parts order only to find out that the good father never put in a parts order as he said he did.
The joke: What is the name of the Japanese diving champion? "Toko Fondo" ("Toco fondo" I touch the bottom) Ja! Ja!
Padre Manuel is surprised that Carolina is now defending Oscar against what Eva did to him when she has been so critical of him. She says if nothing else, it is unforgiveable that she abandoned her son.
Hugo tells Manuel that he is aging in style and that nothing that Gloria said is true. He hopes to be like him when he is his age.
Jarifa, thank you for your marvelous insight in filling in so many necessary details! I'm so appreciative of your time...
Thank you for explaining the joke. I admit I laughed. :)
"Gloria denies it saying she would never settle for that lowlife, old man". Ouch! Oh my, far harsher than I thought and a surprise to me. I thought she seemed genuinely enamoured with Manuel. I'm not quite convinced it is solely about the bucks as her "afterglow" seemed quite real.
I really like Carolina! Her defense of Oscar was proof positive. She has a great temperment and is kind and sweet. As for Oscar, your "He looks like he is ready to linger a bit longer but decides he has to get to work" perfectly reflected his obvious reluctance to leave.
Another surprise was that the padre never ordered the bus parts! It makes sense, he wants the women to stay.
Hugo is gorgeous and a catch!
This was great Jarifa, thank you, thank you!!
Diana
Thanks Diana, I’m afraid I can’t add too much to your recap. But we now know Circe “borrowed” the dresses without asking. Her boss wanted to charge her for the dress she ruined or she would call the police. Circe let her know that she knew the dresses in the shop were fake copies and not originals so if the boss called the police Circe would post about the cheap dresses.
Gisela had given Aurelio orders and then complained to Aide that he wasn’t a good servant. Aide informed her he worked for Maximax, and was not a house servant.
I know Hernan owes the bad guy money and I guess the money he stole and lost was a payment. He keeps threatening to hurt the grandchildren, but only Iker is his grandson, maybe. I have my doubts about that.
Hernan’s been pretending to be ignorant about computers and Uli’s been helping him. But Hernan still messes up. I guess that will be his story if Tino suspects him.
It looks like Gisela has plenty of money. I wonder if Hernan will go after her money next.
Poor Aide, how much can she take? I think they were still paying debts from when Pipe’s uncle (I’m bad with names) kind of ruined their business. And I agree that Nazario is only after the money. But if Sylvia left it to Pipe I wouldn’t think they could get it.
Liz
Liz: Get used to seeing more disgusting schemes, moves & plots from the villains, who are determined to destroy EVERYONE.
Carolina is still an IDIOT for wanting to destroy her own biological daughter SMH. We need Maury Povich to get over to the DF & expose the whole damn truth ASAP.
Liz, thanks so much for your always thoughtful comments.
Gisela being so pretentious was a bit surprising. I'm glad Aide set her straight!
I appreciate your noting Hernan is faking his lack of computer skills.
"It looks like Gisela has plenty of money. I wonder if Hernan will go after her money next". I think you may be exactly right!
Aide has seemed unhappy since this began didn't she? My heart goes out to her. She deserves a much better life.
Diana
We see a flashback of a young girl standing in front of her house, pleading with her parents. A man is screaming at her and it seems clear the girl is being told to leave. Oh no, Gisela appears and with a sinking heart, we realize the young girl is Aide. Gisela is coldly unmoved saying it is her husband’s house. Her stepfather throws her suitcase (and Aide) out on the street! I can only surmise that this happened when Aide became pregnant with the twins.
In the present, Circe continues screaming at Aide and Aide starts to faint. Circe dissolves in tears in a bit of a trance; Tino orders her to call an ambulance.
Gisela continues sniping at Aurelio, dropping her bags. Tino calls him and tells him to get an ambulance.
Silvana is being discussed, primarily by Prisma and Nazario. Pipe overhears and gets very upset that they are talking about his mother. Surprisingly, it is Prisma who loses it, screaming at him; Rudolf and Clara Luz naturally look extremely upset.
Uli and Chofis are sitting kissing up a storm. I see with a start they aren’t alone, but at a public place. She talks about her mother when Uli gets a text from Tino. There are several scenes with Chano, Chuchito and Chofis discussing Lichita. Serena calls and declines Tino’s invitation.
Aide is in bed, being attended to by a doctor with Tino Gisela, Emi, Scarlet, and Uli there (along with Scarlet’s sweet dog). The children and Tino file out leaving Circe pleading for forgiveness. Tino returns and takes her out of the room. Aide asks him to shut the door and mentions Lila about whom she is concerned. Tino tries to reassure her.
Hernan and Melia talk when Chacal “maldito” calls. Hernan takes a bag from under the mattress. We later see an expensive piece of jewelry, a necklace encrusted with stones. Chacal texts but all was too quick to try and decipher anything.
Clara Luz and Rudolf have musical fun with Natalia and then Pipe. Prisma sits down with a smile but Nazario scowls against the wall.
Circe tells Uli to vamoose. Checo voice mails her and she replies sorry timing is bad. She calls Valerio and he calls her immediately and when she begs off whatever plans they had, he smiles “Pancake” no problem, he is available to her 24/7.
Tino and Aide are having some cuddle time when Gisela comes in with a snack for Aide. Aide calls her on her mother’s questionable concern, especially in view of her past callous treatment of her.
Diana
Paulina texts Lila, where are you she murmurs…
Uli watches the news and it seems the stolen necklace in Hernan’s possession is a news headline!
Tino is at the bank I believe applying for a loan.
Checo and Circe walk and they discuss their parental problems. They end up arguing.
At school, Emi isn’t included in sports activities and Iker stands by him. Bill text Emi… Bill then texts Tino asking to see Emi.
Chacal is threatening Hernan, pointing a gun at Hernan’s neck. When Melina intervenes, he points the gun at her. When does he have time to do any police work I wonder. Melina tries to talk rationally with Chacal; it is clear she isn’t afraid of him. I can’t offer any specific dialogue.
Aide tells Circe she is concerned about her and her future. Aide says Checo is a good guy but…
Tino leaves Lila a message. It doesn’t appear she is communicating with anyone…
Nazario and Rudolf discuss Maximax; Rudolf doing a bit of tutoring. Later, Rudolf and Nazario are watching a video of Silvana when they are interrupted. They leave the screen with her picture still on it.
Valerio texts Circe (Gisela trying to read it) and then takes off. Gisela says something about Tino and Aide looks alarmed.
Tino shows up where he thinks Lila lives but she is no longer there.
Bill meets with Aide; he wants to be part of Maximax but Tino is not in favor.
Uh oh, Pipe and Natalia are at the computer and see Silvana cradling two babies in each arm. Pipe says they are hermanos!!
Circe is with Valerio and there are roses on the restaurant table…he kneels and proposes!! She is embarrassed but shakes her head yes.
Aide is at the office when Tino comes in and tells her Lila is missing. She puts her hand on his face.
There are so many short scenes containing one or two sentences of dialog which are exhausting to try and follow.

Moises tells Franco about the letter the priest gave his father. Heartbroken, Franco confronts his father. “Mi mama” Franco says passionately, all those years…A belligerent Oscar says something like she never tried to contact you all these years, she abandoned you.. Franco, his eyes brimming with tears is inconsolable. And very angry.
Juanita and Carolina discuss the letter as well, Carolina seeming to say she abandoned her son.
A distraught Franco walks up to the house he was raised in. He flashes back to being a small child, watching from behind a tree, seeing his mother arguing with his father in front of the house. She gets in the car and leaves as Oscar cries out for her, calling her his love, head hanging. All to no avail as she does not return. Franco is heartbroken. Oscar tells Moises he wants to be left alone.
The bus driver accuses the padre of not ordering the parts needed for the bus to be rolling once again. I think he mentions Juan David and Angelina in some sort of defense.
Nestor comes into the restaurant and Juanita greets him warmly, much to Hugo’s consternation. Juanita tries to talk to Nestor but he seems to remain tight lipped.
Moises comes in and tells Carolina and Andres what is going on; the three share a huge hug. Carolina’s smile fades as the boys go upstairs.
Hugo seeks the good padre’s counsel as Oscar drowns his sorrow in the bottom of a whiskey glass. Carolina wants to keep him company but he wants to be alone. She tries again but he points, indicating she needs to leave. She kneels in front of him and speaks comfortingly. Faced with her kindness and caring, he breaks down. She takes the glass from him and hugs him as he cries. He hugs her back, sobbing. She offers him coffee; it is no bother. He takes another swig out of his glass.
When Carolina returns with the coffee, Oscar has lounged back on the couch almost asleep. He starts to get up and she gently pushes him back on the couch. He momentarily holds her hand before fading out. She covers him with a blanket and quietly leaves the room.
Franco shares his pain with Lucia. He mentions Nestor and Franco heads there. He asks him what happened as Nestor gulps. Franco asks about his parents relationship and tells him about his mother’s letter. I believe Nestor is supportive of Oscar.
Carolina, Moises and Andres have fun and before she finishes their bedtime story, the boys are fast asleep.
Juanita teases Carolina about Oscar.
The next morning, Oscar wakes up and stares at his watch. He looks at the blanket and remembers Carolina’s comforting words and her warm embrace. He looks down with a serious expression.
Diana
“Super bien” is the boys answer when Carolina asks how they are the next morning.
Angelina and Juan David get respective counseling and advice from Gloria and the good padre.
Oscar is waiting for Carolina when she and the boys leave the house. He seems a bit shy and (almost) in a good mood 😊Oscar hugs Moises and apologizes. The sweet boy shares he had a good time with Andres. Everyone smiles, hot cakes are mentioned.
Hugo and Lucas talk; Hugo tells him Juanita doesn’t seem interested in a relationship. Lucas seems to dispense some advice.
Franco give Lucia a kiss as she and Rosalia head out.
“Buenos dias” Gloria says as she taps Manuel on the shoulder. Manuel is cold as ice (rightly so). She makes a halfhearted effort to explain herself and then leaves as the hurt resurfaces on his face. He is still in a funk when Juanita turns in an order. The good padre shows up and mentions Gloria, then “Doris” (Is that right? The padre seems to be searching for the right words. I’m lost here).
Geography is on today’s classroom agenda. Oscar asks to talk to Carolina alone. He thanks her for what she did the previous evening, she says there is no need. She assures him all is well. He leaves as she smiles.
Juan David is looking at a hotel Esperanza brochure when Angelina comes in; kisses ensue, getting more passionate by the moment.
Lucia and Rosalia shop for clothes and cooking supplies. All of a sudden a woman shows up who may be related to her almost ex?
Lucas is on the ground; he has hurt himself and is writhing in pain. He is on the ground and it loos like they may have pushed something (arm? Shoulder?) back in place.
Oscar talks to Franco saying he recognizes his feelings toward his mother. I think he says his mother didn’t abandon him but that she left Oscar for another man (did I get that right??)
My best effort for what it’s worth. Your comments and insight are always welcome!
Diana
Thank you, Diana.
After hearing about Oscar and how his ex treated him and Franco, Juanita asks if Carolina might be feeling something for Oscar. Carolina strongly disagrees!
The good father tells the bus driver there must be some kind of mistake. She doesn't think so but she ordered the parts herself. He sees it as good news since she will have more time to find a novio like . . . Angelina. She is on to him and calls him terrible.
Néstor is upset because something has happened to stir up the past and the mistakes of one's life never stop pursuing you. Juanita thinks there is always an apology that could be made. Néstor says at this point apologies would be worthless.
Hugo accuses Juanita of liking Néstor. Juanita makes it clear that she doesn't want a relationship right now with anyone.
Moisés doesn't know who his mother is. Oscar told him that they left him in a basket when he was a baby. Oscar found him. (so now we know why he was named Moisés) He doesn't like to be around Oscar when he drinks.
Franco asks the good father if he has ever seen any other letters from his mother. He answers that his was the only one. Franco is desperate to know something about his mother. The good father says if she writes again, which he expects she will , he will give the letter directly to Franco. He needs to have faith.
Oscar asks Carolina to keep her consoling him private.
Moisés has never stayed over night in another house before. Andrés will lend him his pj's.
Franco tells Néstor that his father didn't think about him when he burned the letter. All he knows about his mother has come from his father. He wants the truth. Franco knows that Néstor is his father's best friend. Why did his mother abandon him? All Néstor knows is that his mother packed her bags and left. Franco asks WHY? Néstor wasn't in town when it happened. Néstor says only his mother can give him the answers he needs. He is sure Eva loved him a lot but there is no use in digging up the past. On the other hand, Franco has the best father in the world. He needs to stop torturing himself with those questions.
Gloria, after hearing that Angelina is "feeling things", tells her that she cannot do anything with Juan David until they are married. Juan David asks the good father when couples can finally make love. The answer is to just go with the flow.
Hugo the bar keeper is afraid he cannot compete with Néstor the vet for Juanita's attentions. Lucas tells him he is a real catch and when the time is right Juanita will be head over heels for him.
After Manuel tells Gloria off and she tries to defend herself to no avail, he asks her one question: Did she enjoy his company? Did he make her enjoy it? She looks down but has to admit that she did. He answers that is all that matters. He asks if she would like to feel what she felt again. She says that she would but that moment of weakness will never happen again. She says she only came to apologize. Manuel looks sad.
I loved the name : Hotel Esperanza (Hotel Hope) so did Angelina. It seems like she and Juan David cannot wait to get there.
Manuel tells Juanita that his family is batting zero at love. He has no chances with Gloria and his grandson has no chances with her. She explains that Hugo is great but she didn't come to town looking for love. The good father suggests that he consider Doris the bus driver. She is nice and is single . . . Juanita agrees.
Lucía sells her ring. Rosalía thinks she will find new love in Monteverde.
Lucas has a dislocated shoulder and the vet Néstor fixes it.
The blonde is Rosaura the woman who would have been Lucía's sister-in-law had she gotten married. Lucía says her life has been hell. Rosaura understands and says that her brother Rodrigo has been suffering , too. He has been trying to find her. Lucía is done talking and leaves.
Yes, Oscar tells Franco that his mother left them for another man
My ramblings over coffee: No spoilers: BUT if I had to guess who Eva left Oscar for ,at this point, I would say it was Néstor. He was feeling very guilty about something today. He also was not in town when Eva left for another man. I will even go one step farther and say that Franco looks more like Néstor than Oscar. Could a DNA test be in the future? Hmmm . . . Cannot wait.
Diana, thank you so much for another excellent recap . Yes , poor Aide has been unhappy and stressed out With all these people from the past invading her house . Your home should be your place of comfort and refuge .
Hernan becomes Worse with every episode. Now we discover that he is a hopeless gamb!er . That creepy cop must be an undercover cop because he's wearing a big chain necklace and bracelets with spikes. Detectives wear suits .
I somehow missed the scene of Aide being thrown out of her home . However, I think that eventually Gisela will help Aide.
Valorio is a waste of time . Why is he in this show ???
Susan
Your summary was a gem Jarifa. Thank you! Mysteries deepen.
Thank you for "Hotel Esperanza (Hotel Hope)"!
"Néstor is upset because something has happened to stir up the past and the mistakes of one's life never stop pursuing you"...and "Franco looks more like Néstor than Oscar" were brilliant observations. And Nestor did try and dissuede Franco from asking more questions. Jarifa, I think you nailed that Nestor is likely the "other man!" What a tangled web...
"Moisés doesn't know who his mother is. Oscar told him that they left him in a basket when he was a baby". Yes, what a perfect name!
I wonder...could there have been some sort of emergency/tragedy that kept Rodrigo from showing up at the wedding?
I'm not convinced Juanita is immune from Nestor's "charms". I hope I'm wrong.
So Doris is the bus driver! Finally a name! I couldn't figure out why the good padre mentioned that name but now it makes sense!
These details were so important Jarifa. Thank you so much for sharing.
Can't wait til Friday night!
Diana
Susan, thank you!
Poor Aide has been so strong and staunch but there's pressure from every side now it seems. I couldn't figure out why she and Aide were having such fierce fights. That happened too the first season and I thought they'd gotten past that. Aide had given Checo thumbs up then but now it seems she is wary again.
Hernan has an addiction that is ruling her life. Like you, I'm still wondering why and how he and Melina came to be in cahoots together.
"That creepy cop must be an undercover cop because he's wearing a big chain necklace and bracelets with spikes. Detectives wear suits" was fabulous. I'm sure you are exactly right!
I'm having a very hard time following most of this, especially any scenes Melina, Hernan and/or Chacal are in.
Valerio seems to be a distraction for Circe but it seems obvious he will never replace Checo in her heart. The character is annoying but Sebastian Poza deserves so much more!
