Kara Para Ask – Black Money Love – Amor de contrabando
Episode 85 #1
At the Denizer office
Mert is pacing in the hall. Elif joins him and asks why he is there. He says he is sorry to come without notice. She invites him into her office.
Elif: Have you spoken to Nilufer?
Mert: No, I called her but she hasn’t replied. She just sent a message that she wants to be left alone. Elif, I’m grateful to you. You helped me through the most difficult times of my life, but your aunt is right. I need to set up a life for myself. I’ll not go back to Tayyar’s house. I don’t want anything from him. Shortly, I won’t have any money. Can you give me a job here? I’d be so grateful.
Elif holds out her hand: Welcome to our family.
He skips the hand and hugs her: Thank you so much, Elif!
She tells him he should go about his duties. [Does he know what he is doing yet?]
At the Denizer mansion we see Nedret with Asli and three other women. They seem to be old friends of Nedret.
The doorbell chimes. Nedret says she hopes it is Mett (this is the CC name).
We instead hear the dulcet tones of Melike. Asli and Nedret look very unhappy. In walk Melike and Demet. Melike says hello to everyone.
Nedret: What a nice surprise.
Melike and Demet take seats.
Melike: You’ll not believe it. We came through roads of mud. Melike removes her boot and puts on heels.
Omer, Arda, and Pelin are on the pier talking with Pinar.
Pinar: I’m living with that murderer. You can’t even imagine what he might do. I’m really scared. I can’t go to court against him. I signed my own death certificate when I looked him in the eyes. I can’t tell you anything. I’ll deny it. I will tell them you forced me to talk.
Omer: First, tell me where Metin is.
Pinar: He escaped last night. Someone came to the house and then they stabbed Tayyar.
Omer: Who was he?
Pinar: I don’t know. I didn’t see them. I only saw Tayyar lying on the floor. He didn’t tell me who it was.
Omer: So, what happened to Tayyar then?
Pinar: He lost one of his kidneys. He also has a problem with his other one. They took one of the kidneys from Metin and transplanted it into Tayyar, but I guess he didn’t know that the operation was going to happen. They did it by force. I guess he ran away as he tried to save his own life.
Omer is impactado at this information.
Back at the Denizer mansion
Asli is looking at the shoes Melike put on. They still have their stickers because they have just been bought.
One of the ladies is talking about spending the summer in Venice. Lot of showing off here, trying to impress one another.
Nedret tells her she might be right about Venice, but that she prefers shopping in the same season.
Babachita
Episode 85 #2
Melike: Everything is really expensive in the same season, Nedret.
Asli’s eyes are bulging at this comment!
Melike continues: The best time to go shopping is in the sale season. [These ladies look like thye never shop a sale, or at least wouldn’t want to be caught at one.] All of the things in sales season go for half price.
Melike goes on about sales while the ladies roll their eyes, politely.
Now the conversation has changed to gossiping about one of their friends whose husband has been cheating on her for two years. Apparently, she discovered this from charges for a hotel.
Nedret: What a pity.
Melike: What a pity. I don’t know the girl, but I think she got slack and her husband started to look elsewhere. [This is rich coming from Melike, whose husband has another family!] I mean, a woman has to be well-groomed all the time, demure, she has to wash the feet of her husband if needed. I mean my Huso looks into my eyes once and then he looks again. He doesn’t have any bad habits, from home to work, work to home.
Asli comes back with a big zinger: I mean, who on Earth would cheat on you?
Melike: My Huso and I were just made for each other. I hope it’ll last forever.
Demet: Mother!
Asli: Melike, you come with me. I bought a new dress today. Let’s see if you like it or not.
Melike: She wants my opinion. Let’s have a look.
Nedret is watching all this.
Back at the pier
Omer to Pinar: Tell us where the farm is and then I’ll arrest Tayyar for organizing an illegal transplant.
Pinar: I don’t know. I haven’t seen it. They took me there blindfolded. (She has a little flashback that doesn’t show her blindfolded.)
Omer doubts this: Pinar, tell me the truth.
Pinar: Omer, I swear I don’t know. (Arda and Pelin look as serious as Omer.)
Omer: OK, then let’s make a deal. I need you to be my informant there. You’ll tell me everything that Tayyar and Metin do, otherwise I’ll show Tayyar that your baby is Taner’s. You’ve been trying to get your hands on a fake test report, right? I’m not wrong, am I? You see I begin to understand how your brain works the more I get to know you. So, you help me and I’ll help you as well. You know, Taner would be alive now if you’d listened to me from the beginning.
Pinar: I told you everything. The days of me telling you everything are over.
Omer: You know better than me what choice do you have? If you’d like to murder your own child, I can’t do anything for you.
Pinar: There is only one way. You’ll protect both me and my child after you put Tayyar into prison, Omer.
Omer puts out his hand to shake on it: It’s a deal. They shake hands.
Pinar: May I go now, please?
Omer nods: Keep your eyes open and I’ll let you know soon how we can communicate.
All three watch her walk away, probably wondering if this will work.
Pelin: Can we really trust this woman, Omer?
Omer: Of course not. Look, she’s hiding a lot from us, but at this point we both don’t have options and we both need each other.
Arda: At least we know that Metin is out there somewhere.
Pelin: And he’s angry with Tayyar.
Omer: Metin escaped while he was injured. He has money. We know this from how much he gave to Nilufer. He won’t be able to use any because he wouldn’t want Tayyar to find him. But Tayyar has his mother. He can’t escape overseas without his mom.
Pelin: He won’t go to the hospital. He can’t get help from anyone.
Arda: I would call the person I trust the most.
Omer: And, of course, he called Nilufer.
Omer walks away followed by Pelin and Arda.

Episode 85 #3
At the Denizer mansion
Asli to Melike: Don’t stop me. You’ll never come to this house without being invited.
Melike: I can come whenever I want. This is my sister-in-law’s house.
Asli: I don’t think so. This is my house as well. You can’t ever come here because I won’t allow you to.
Melike: You mean I need to go now.
Asli: Hooray, you’re really clever.
Melike: OK, then I’m offended and I will never forget this.
Asli: Please, please, please.
Nedret comes out as Melike calls for Demet to join her in leaving.
Nedret: What’s happening here?
Asli: They’re leaving, Auntie.
Nedret: What? What do you mean they’re leaving?
When Melike gets her wrap and heads to the front door,
Nedret: My dear.
Melike: We will not stay if we are not wanted. Come on, to Demet.
Asli: I sent them away politely.
Nedret: What on Earth are you doing? Why is everything so odd? Every one of you is a bit strange.
Nedret leaves Asli in the entryway.
Asli grins and is very pleased with herself.
In Arda’s car
Arda, Omer, and Pelin are heading somewhere. Pelin says she called, that it’s on speaker and his name is Moret (Murat?), handing Omer the phone.
Omer: Hey there, Moret, how are you? Where is Nilufer now?
Morat: At the gym.
Omer: How long has she been there?
Morat: It’s been over five hours and I’m waiting at the door.
Omer: Five hours! Is she preparing for the Olympics? There must be something wrong.
Morat: I don’t know. Her car is here and I saw her with my own eyes when she got out.
Omer: OK, send me the address and we’ll be there shortly.
In Tayyar’s E.R.
Tayyar is seated in a wheelchair.
Henchie: You called for me, Mr. Tayyar.
Tayyar: You couldn’t find Metin. So, you’ll find Nilufer for me.
Henchie: OK, Mr. Tayyar.
Tayyar: Find Ms. Nilufer. I wonder where she is and what’s she doing. Find her. Bring her to me if she doesn’t come willingly, make her come to me. Go on, leave!
[NOTE: I am unable to access the usual English version today for some reason. So, I’m translating from the Spanish dubbed version from this point, just FYI.]
At Bahar’s place
Nilufer is making something in the kitchen. Fatih joins her. She is showing Fatih how she is making the food. Bahar tells them she will be out for a while. Fatih tells Nilufer she can make the food however she wants. He would eat venom if she gave it to him. He calls her “princess.” She laughs and tells him this is the first time she has made this. Bahar hasn’t actually left yet; she is watching them interact. Nilufer tells Fatih she thought they had finished because he said it was best for both of them. Bahar closes the door after this. Nilufer continues: We made a decision together. But they both admit they missed the other. Fatih is poetic here:
I miss your breathing, I miss your skin, and he closes in for a kiss. She is worried because he was wounded. They share a lovely kiss and clothing is quickly removed!

Episode 85 #4
Melike and Demet are climbing the stairs at the Denizer office. They pass Mert without noticing, but he calls out: Ms. Melike! What are you doing here?
Demet’s face is very joyful at seeing Mert! Demet: Hello, we are here to see Elif.
Mert shows them which is her office. He says he has things to do and he’ll see them later. Melike keeps walking and then notices Demet is transfixed at the stairs. She yanks her arm to follow her. They enter Elif’s office.
Elif: Welcome.
Melike: We aren’t welcome. Your family will never accept us.
Elif: What happened? Did something happen to Ms. Elvan?
Melike: No, nothing happened but Asli offended me very much.
Elif: What happened?
Melike: We went to your house just to converse and pass a nice time, but Asli made me ashamed and threw me out. Nobody has treated me that way in my life. [What about Fatma, I think.]
Elif: But Asli would never do something like that. What happened?
Melike looks at Demet, who makes a rueful face.
Melike: It’s all the fault of the chatterbox who wouldn’t be silent the whole afternoon.
Elif is startled at this.
Demet: But, Mom, what did I do?
Melike: And on top of that, she denies it. I don’t know what to do with her!
Elif goes over and separates them telling them to calm down and not to do this.
Melike then sits down.
Omer, Arda, and Pelin are at Nilufer’s gym.
Morat: The car (Nilufer’s) is here.
Omer: OK, we’ll enter and say that we want a membership.
Arda says that it’s a private gym and that’s not likely to fool them.
Omer: That doesn’t matter. What does matter is to know where Nilufer is now.
Pelin: Yes, we’ll figure it out. (Pelin heads into the gym.)
Back at Elif’s office.
Elif: I’m sorry in the name of Asli. It won’t happen again.
Melike: I feel profoundly offended. I don’t know if I will ever be able to enter your house again. [That would not break Asli and Nedret’s hearts, I think.]
Elif: Melike. These discussions aren’t appropriate within families. (To Demet) You go to classes every day, right?
Demet: Just in the mornings.
Elif: Well, would you like to work here? You could come after classes.
Demet and Melike exchange looks.
Elif continues: Having a job would be good for you because then you would have your own money.
Melike is beaming.
Demet: Yes, it would be great.
Melike: Elif, you think she is able?
Elif: Yes.
Elif gets a phone call: Excuse me, it’s Omer. Hello.
Omer: I’m sending you a location, can you come? We are trying to find Nilufer. Probably Fatih is with her. I need your help.
Elif: Of course, I’m on my way. She excuses herself from Melike and Demet and leaves. She tells them they can ask for tea and to make themselves comfortable.
Elif leaves. Mother and daughter sit facing one another. Demet is thrilled. Melike: Don’t get ahead of things. First, we have to ask your father for permission. He’ll decide.
Demet [who looks very lovely when she smiles, IMO] is sitting with a very happy smile on her face at this development.

Episode 85 #5
Pelin is getting a tour of the gym. She asks how often each day the hair drying area is cleaned. They tell her three times. Pelin says it would be better if they cleaned every hour: This place should be much cleaner.
The gym person says she is very detail oriented: The only place you haven’t seen is the dressing room and Men’s showers. Let’s go here and start the process.
Pelin keeps looking around. She is introduced to an instructor of Pilates.
Pelin says she wants a membership: A friend recommended it, so I decided to come see for myself. The commercial representative doesn’t know her, but I suppose you would: Nilufer Denizer. If she is here, I’d like to surprise her.
The employee: She was here in the afternoon, but she left when I got here. I could see from the back door.
Pelin now has a serious expression on her face.
Outside, Arda is talking to his ex. She says she is on the way to the clinic and for him not to be late. She’ll see him in an hour.
Omer asks Arda what is going on.
Omer: Pelin told me last night without details. Is she jealous of Pelin?
Arda: If only. She says she is pregnant.
Omer has no words for this.
We see Cigdem in a clinic telling a man that Arda will be there in an hour.
Cigdem: I don’t want any problem. Do you have it all ready?
[Hmmmm, looks like she isn’t pregnant but will fake it.]
The doctor won’t be here, and I cancelled my scheduled patient for that hour. We have to do this very fast or it won’t work.
Cigdem: He can’t suspect anything. If he does, we’re dead.
She hands him an envelope fat with cash.
Cigdem: We have to convince Arda that I’m pregnant, that I’m expecting a child of his.
The man nods.
Back outside the gym.
Pelin says Nilufer knew she was being followed.
Omer, very upset that Morat didn’t catch on: So, you supposedly graduated from the Academy? Didn’t you have classes showing how to follow someone?
Morat: Captain,
Omer interrupts: Don’t answer me.
Pelin tells Omer to calm down.
Omer: How can I calm down, Pelin? How?
Elif walks up and joins them.
Elif: Omer, what happened?
Lots of looks among the group.
At the police station.
Husseyn is waiting in Ali’s office.
Ali strides in.
Ali: Chief Suat called me. What have you done? Did you find a way to separate Omer and Elif?
Husseyn doesn’t reply.
Ali: Your cousin will call soon asking for news and he’ll ask you about this. [The translation says cousin. Often, that doesn’t mean an actual relative. I’m not sure who this is referring to. Tayyar?]
Husseyn: Well, keep him away from me. Do you have the number he gave you? [Husseyn already has Tayyar’s number, so apparently the cousin gave him the number of someone else.]
Babachita
Episodoe 85 #6
Ali throws his phone at Husseyn who gets the number and puts it in his phone. He calls it:
Hello, Ipek, it’s me, Husseyn, your new boss. I heard they were sending you here too. I’m so glad to know it. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen one another. You were very hard to find. Where are you? Welcome to Istanbul and to our department. See you soon.
He hangs up.
Back at the gym.
Elif and Omer are talking outside. She thought Nilufer and Fatih were finished, but now we’re back with the same. What do we do?
Omer: You need to calm down. No need to panic. Let’s think it through. Where could Nilufer have gone? Where would she have taken Fatih? A confidante, friend, someone? Hmm?
Elif: The only one I can think of is Mert. But he is now working with us. I was with him today and he’s staying in a hotel. So, I don’t think so.
Omer: I can’t think of anyone either. Well, Nilufer knows Mert loves her. She would never take Fatih to Mert’s place.
Elif has an idea. She thinks it’s possible she’s at Bahar’s. But she says it’s absurd.
Omer: Why? Why do you think it might be Bahar?
Elif: Last night at our place I heard Bahar and Nilufer talking. Later Bahar went home because she was bored. Today she called in sick. I went to see her at home and she asked me to leave because according to her she was with a man. But that seemed so strange. She wouldn’t have done something like that. She is my best friend. Omer, what do you think you’re doing?
Omer: What are you talking about?
Elif: You are no longer caring for your injured arm.
Omer: Laughs, I was so happy because you hadn’t noticed, Signorina.
Elif: Bravo, Senor. Well done, congratulations.
Omer gets up close to her: Elif, I am fine. Don’t worry, be calm.
Elif: I’m calm, Omer. But you’re going to a doctor now.
Omer: Elif, I’m fine. Really. Look, I’m excellent.
Elif: Look, you can fool everyone except me, Omer.
Omer: Elif darling, I do exercises. I was shot before and I recovered. If I ask for a doctor’s opinion, they will give me a desk job.
Elif: That wouldn’t be so bad, in my opinion.
Omer: Sighs. OK, I promise that I will take care of myself, but I have something more important to do now. We have to find Fatih. After that we will do whatever you want. I promise.
Omer and Elif walk together toward their vehicle.
We see Aunt Nedret and her assistant, Filiz, who is giving her a neck massage.
Feliz tells her she hasn’t been right since the death of her husband. Nedret must be very tired.
Nedret: Of course I am. I think about Elif and her engagement.
Filiz: Ms. Nedret. I know you very well. You never would stay in silence after people did something like this. Do you think it’s appropriate? You can still control some things, right?
Nedret: What can I do? I’m bad if I do something or not. Don’t you see she is in love with him? She says they are in love and are good people. She thinks that’s how it is. He’s very likable. She is under some illusions, but her family is very strange. I don’t know what to do.
Feliz: That’s right. And what about the things that the little girl took? I discovered her robbing things. I don’t know how she dared to do something like that.
Nedret: She’s just a kid. The lifestyle is so different here. The kid is overwhelmed. The real danger is the father (Husseyn). He asked me to break them up before the wedding. He says we need to act together. That the families aren’t alike. That this relationship should end. But, when I look into someone’s eyes, I know what they are thinking. There’s something different in his. Very clearly.
Filiz: That man has a suspicious look. And his wife! She thinks of herself as the owner of this house and all. She walks around everywhere as if she was the queen. She even yelled at Hulia today. She always comes at unexpected times and she dresses extremely badly. She butts into everything. It’s not appropriate. I don’t like that Melike.
Babachita
Episode 85 #7
Nedret: Common. She walks around the house and insinuates lies (or maybe truths). But you know what her real intention is? To get to live here.
Feliz: Ahhhhh. Now I’m very worried. These people don’t deserve someone like Miss Elif. But now they have rings (are engaged). What can be done?
Nedret: Well, I’ve seen lots of rings returned and many failed engagements. Well just hope. From now on, I’m mother and father for those girls. I won’t let them be pressured by anyone, especially Elif. I won’t let them look down on her. Don’t worry, Filiz.
At Bahar’s apartment
Nilufer and Fatih are snuggling while watching television. There is some chit chat while watching. [The tv actress looked a bit like Tuba, but it went so quickly, I wasn’t sure. It would be an inside joke if the Elif actress were featured in this glimpse of another dizi.]
Bahar finally returns and comments on how nice they look, so happy together. They invite her to join them, but she declines. Fatih: She is a weird girl.
Nilufer: She is probably uncomfortable.
Fatih: She doesn’t seem trustworthy. Are you sure that she won’t do anything?
Nilufer: As long as she’s happy she won’t cause any problems.
Fatih isn’t convinced.
At the clinic, Arda and Cigdem enter a “doctor’s” office. She introduces Arda as her husband. He does an ultrasound that shows a fetus and says that it’s a girl. Of course, we know it’s fake.
Elif and Omer are talking about Fatih possibly being at Bahar’s. Elif reminds him that Bahar is her best friend. He tells her they don’t lose anything if they go to her place: If you’re right, I’ll taking you home. But if I’m right, we will win so much. Elif says she might be very angry with good reason. Elif says she would never forgive her.
Omer: Elif, all you need to do is look inside. I waited until Pelin and Arda were away. Let’s go.
Elif walks slowly.
Omer stops suddenly, lost in thought.
Elif asks why. He says, why did we come here? We suspect because Bahar might be hiding something. Then she’ll do the same as always. She’ll try to lie and let it pass.
Elif: Then we need to try something else.
He stares at her, and Elif says he is crazy, that she can’t do it.
He tells her there is no other way. They can leave now if she wants. Then Nilufer will keep hiding out with Fatih.
They decide to go forward with the plan.
Inside, Fatih is telling Nilufer that they are getting to the key part of the film and that it will end soon. She laughs and says that in all dizis the same thing happens. Fatih tells her not to be so sure.
Bahar is polishing her nails in her room.

Episode 85 #8
In the lobby, Elif tells the desk clerk that she is friends with Ms. Bahar from apartment 72: I came by this morning and she was sick. I’m worried for her. I knocked on her door, I called her sister and mother, but they don’t know anything about her. I’m really worried.
The clerk offers to call, but she says not to because there was some kind of problem with her phone and they were going to fix it. I called her cell and she doesn’t answer that, either. She would never do this. So, I was hoping that you might give me the key and I could enter to be sure everything is OK. I’ve been here many times. I’m sure you’ve seen me.
The clerk asks for her name. Denizer might have been the magic word. He gives her a key and tells her to return in 10 minutes. He doesn’t want any problems.
She tells Omer on the way that she thought it would have been better if they’d used his police ID. He tells her he can’t do that without a warrant.
They go to the room. Elif opens it and they enter and see Nilufer, crying.
Omer asks where Fatih is. She just cries some more. Omer goes to check all the rooms. No sign of him. [Where is Bahar during this search?] Elif asks why she is there alone. She cries and says he isn’t there and has no idea where he is.
Alif: Then, why are you crying like that?
Omer sees the medical supplies used to treat Fatih’s wound. He tells her she is lying. Where did he go?
FLASHBACK
After the film, Fatih looks out the window and sees Omer and Elif approach the building. He tells Nilufer it’s time to go. He takes a kitchen knife and tells her to leave everything. Bahar comes out and asks what is going on. Nilufer tells Fatih she can’t abandon her sisters. Nilufer begs Fatih to stay. Omer can help them. Even if he goes to jail, she will wait. Bahar looks bemused at all this.
Fatih says he has to leave before they get there. He grabs Bahar as a hostage and takes her with him. ”We’re going for a little walk.” He threatens Bahar with cutting her tongue out if she keeps yelling. When Elif and Omer arrive, Fatih and Bahar are hiding near the elevators.
Back to present: Nilufer is crying because she wouldn’t go with him and he had to go because he didn’t want to be trapped.
When she tells him about Bahar, Omer runs to go after them. They are running down the stairs.
In the lobby, a family with a stroller is getting in the elevator as Omer leaves it. He’s very frustrated with the delay and finally pushes past the family. Fatih and Bahar reach the lobby area, but back up. Fatih see a sign for an exit and goes through the double doors. Omer sees not sign of them and looks around. He also sees the exit sign and heads for the doors.
Up in Bahar’s flat, Nilufer and Elif are talking.
Elif: I don’t know what to say to you, Nilufer. How could you do this after everything that happened?
Nilufer: He was wounded and didn’t have anyone else to help. Should I have rejected him?
Elif: This isn’t your problem, Nilufer. He always takes advantage of you and you stupidly put yourself in problems for him. And what happens if he does something to Bahar? Did you think of that, Nilufer?
Nilufer: That’s enough.
Elif: Yes, it’s enough. How many things have you needed to go through for that man? And now you’re acting like you are crazy.
Nilufer: I went crazy, remember? Maybe I’m someone so crazy that (I loved) Fatih, a psychotic, but your opinion doesn’t matter a bit because the only thing that matters to me now is you, Elif. Because you love me in a genuine manner just like I am. Don’t look for your salvation the way you do. This is the only thing that matters: you are fooling people as if you were protecting your sisters. [I’m pretty sure this is the gist of this comment. I had trouble distinguishing between Elif and Fatih as the “only” thing that matters to Nilufer, but it does seem to be Elif.]
End of Episode 85.
Babachita
I agree Demet is very pretty when she smiles! It was very weird that Elif would leave Melike and Demet alone in her office to have tea and get comfortable while she runs off to meet Omer - that's when you tell them you're very sorry, but they need to return another day not sit and stay awhile!
It was also very rude of Asli to dismiss Melike but it was rude of Melike to show up uninvited, and it was funny how Asli did it! It was really mean and just manic how Melike blamed it on Demet - who would believe that she was a chatterbox?
Pinar is a funny little thing - tell just enough of the story to make it clear you know more than you're saying - Tayyar's attack and then his forced kidney operation but then claim you don't know where the operation farm is? She couldn't be more transparent...
Thanks for the comprehensive recap, Babachita. It looks like they took the English dubbed eps off YouTube. I mostly rely on the Turkish eps, but I check back to the English especially to make sure of the beginnings and endings. Spanish will work for me.
Melike is, can I say it?... cringe. I love it when she’s paired with Asli. These two actors knock it out of the park!
One point of clarification. Nilu was talking about Fatih being the only one who loves her as she is. And yes, she had the nerve to say that Elif puts on a show for others, only pretending to protect her sisters. This scene was confusing to me, too. Nilu went back and forth between Fatih and Elif. I had to rewatch it a couple of times.
#86 part 1
Nilufer accuses Elif of only looking out for her own interests. Elif raises her hand to Nilu, but Nilu stops her from striking. Nilu says, he told me to come with him, but I didn’t. I chose you. But I made a mistake. May God curse me! Nilu walks away.
Fatih makes his way through an emergency exit with Bahar. [this guy is amazing. Climbing trees, walking around Istanbul, having sex, and running from Omer—all within a day or so of donating a kidney!] Omer exits through the same door and gets a glimpse of Fatih as he goes down a stairway.
Bahar begs Fatih to release her. You must come with me, he replies. Bahar asks, you won’t hurt me, will you? Omer sees them and shouts—Fatih, stop! Bahar starts screaming for Omer. Fatih takes Bahar to the entrance of the parking garage. Omer catches up and Fatih warns him to stay back. He’s got Bahar in front of him, his arm around her neck, like a shield. He puts a knife to her throat.
Omer tells him to calm down, don’t make matters more difficult. You’re injured, not well. I know what that man did to you. How could he do this to his own son? Omer takes a few steps closer as he speaks. He continues, I really want to help you. Stop with the sensitive cop act, Fatih answers, all you want is to put my father and me in prison. Omer asks, are you really calling that man father now? Omer is right in front of Fatih and Bahar.
Fatih takes a quick step back. Omer asks him to let Bahar go. Fatih holds Bahar tighter and he makes a small cut on her neck. She cries out. Fatih shouts at Omer to back off. Omer shouts back—calm down!
Fatih stops a car coming out of the garage. He orders the driver to get out. The woman is petrified. Omer IDs himself as a cop and advises the woman to do as Fatih says. Omer warns Fatih not to hurt Bahar. Fatih cautions, if you follow us, I won’t spare this girl’s tears. Nothing Omer can do, Fatih drives away.
A woman knocks at Pelin’s door. Pelo thinks it’s Arda. Nope, it’s Ipek with a suitcase. Pelo is stunned. Ipek hugs Pelo. Pelo looks worried.
Doctor visit is over. Arda looks depressed and Cigdem yaps about vitamins. She scolds, why are you still looking like that? Didn’t you believe it? You saw our daughter. Too late for an abortion. Besides it’s a sin. Tell your girlfriend. She walks away with a smug look.
Pelo fixes something to eat. Ipek goes down memory lane and tells a story about getting caught in the cantina boiling eggs. She complements Pelo’s meal. She explains how she looked at a place to stay but there was a 2 year wait. The real estate office didn’t work out either. Renting is expensive.
Pelo senses Ipek has something else to say. You know the question I’m going to ask, she says. I expect an answer. Why this visit? You didn’t tell me about this. Why did you come to Istanbul? I need you, Ipek replies, I came back because I’m in trouble.
Elif, Omer, and Nilu get in the car. Omer asks to borrow Elif’s phone. Omer calls Pelo and tells her to come to the station. Pelo says she will call Arda. Ipek asks if that was Omer on the phone. Pelo nods. Ipek asks, was there a homicide? Pelo gets her coat and Ipek is ready to leave with her, but Pelo tells her to stay and rest. She offers Ipek to stay at her house until she finds her own place. Ipek gets the message and reluctantly takes off her coat.
#86 part 2
Fatih gives Bahar a tissue and apologizes for cutting her. I didn’t mean for things to be like this, he says, you opened your home to me, helped me, thank you. And you repaid me so beautifully, Bahar answers. Why did you kidnap me instead of Nilufer? Because Omer knows I wouldn’t hurt her, he says, I can’t deceive him. I want to marry her. Bahar notes that Fatih is as romantic as he is crazy. Fatih stops the car and tells Bahar she can go. Don’t be ridiculous, she replies, I can’t leave you like this. You’re hurt. I won’t leave you alone.
Filiz serves coffee to Nedret. She says she will start packing for the trip. The plane leaves at 8 tonight. Elif and Nilufer return home, arguing in front of Nedret and Filiz. Nedret demands to know what’s going on. Elif dares Nilu to tell auntie. Nedret starts shouting. Elif says, Fatih Dundar escaped from the operating table wounded! My clever sister helped him. I can’t take this anymore! Nilu runs out of the room. Nedret asks Elif to calm down. Nothing will change if she shouts. Elif leaves to wash her face.
Nedret tells Filiz to cancel the trip. She’ll keep her promise to Elif. She won’t leave the kids alone.
Omer calls for a search for Fatih’s car. Pelo and Emre (the tech guy) arrive and Arda comes soon after. Pelo looks at Arda for some news but it’s not the time or place to talk. Huseyin enters. He addresses Omer, damn, son, can’t you sit quietly at home? What happened now? We found Metin, Omer replies, he kidnapped Elif’s friend and stole a car.
We get a flashback. Omer approaches Fatih and Bahar at the garage. We see that Omer got close enough to slip his phone into Bahar’s coat pocket. That’s why he let Fatih go so easily. They can follow the tracker. Huseyin says well done. Omer asks Emre how long will it take to locate? Huseyin leaves the room. He’s got his phone out.
Melike is very excited at the prospect of Demet getting a job with Elif. Elvan is surprised. Will she quit school, she asks, won’t she take the exam? Huseyin shouldn’t hear this. Melike goes on and on, I always dreamed and prayed my children would meet good people and the miracle happened.
Fatma is there knitting. Yes, they met, let no evil eye touch her, she says resentfully and leaves the room. Melike notes that Fatma is bitter [ya think?] That woman ruins a person’s joy. Elvan calmly tells Melike to go change her clothes. I’m angry, she says, don’t make me angrier. You went and ruined Nedret’s day without telling me or your husband. Please, Melike replies, this is what the rich people call brunch. She giggles. Elvan sighs.
Huseyin locks himself in a restroom to make a call to Tayyar. Cousin, I have news. Pinar walks in and Tayyar silently shoos her away. Huseyin says, Omer was about to catch your oldest son, but he kidnapped a girl to get away. Omer put his cell phone in her pocket. They are tracking him. They will find him and I’ll give you the number so you can call him and tell him to get rid of it.
Bahar puts a fresh bandage on Fatih. [they took supplies with them?] She says his stitches don’t look good. He asks about her cut. She says she’s okay. A phone rings. Fatih is alarmed. Is that your phone? Do you want me to get caught? What’s wrong with you? Bahar has no idea. Fatih takes the phone from her pocket. This isn’t mine, she says.
#86 part 3
Fatih answers. It’s Tayyar—how are you son? Don’t ever use that word again, Fatih warns, I’m not your son. I’m calling because I want to help you, Tayyar says, I’m calling to warn you. If you don’t listen, things will go very badly. Are you going to warn me how bad my dad is, Fatih snarks. Tayyar continues, Omer is looking for you. He put the cell phone in her pocket. Get rid of the phone and go somewhere safe… or return to your father’s arms. I’ll protect you. No thanks, Fatih replies, just protect me from yourself.
Tayyar orders a henchie to find Fatih. Look in his usual places and the surrounding areas. Ask his friends [he has friends?] if they have seen him. He hands the henchie the sim card from his phone and tells him to destroy it somewhere. Tayyar asks, who was that man who took Fatih to the airport when he made his trips? Rasim. Tayyar says find out if Rasim is in jail or not.
Elif is crying about Bahar’s kidnapping. Nedret assures her that Omer and his team will find her. My best friend is in danger, Elif cries, if he kills her… Nilu jumps up—enough! If Fatih wanted to kill someone he would have started with me. Asli tells her to shut up or she will kill her.
Ali is angry with Omer. Go home and rest! Don’t cause problems! Omer says they don’t have much time. He kidnapped her. He can hurt her. Ali is ticked they didn’t get the DA’s permission to do this investigation. Huseyin walks in on this and asks what’s going on? He’s mobilized the whole station and has the staff working for him, Ali gripes. Everyone is at the service of Omer Bey and his girlfriend.
Huseyin reasons with Ali. That man kidnapped a person and stole a car. If he cuts her throat and dumps her by the river… shouldn’t we be protecting people? Ali backs off a bit, but warns, even if I find a small mistake, I’ll cut off your head. He places responsibility on Huseyin.
Emre isn’t picking up anything yet. Omer worries that Fatih will discover the phone and get rid of it. Suddenly, Emre has something. It’s the stolen car.
Elif peeks in on sleeping Nilufer. Elif walks away and Nilu’s eyes open. Elif gives orders to Muzzafer, the older gent that works for them. She says no one can enter this house. If they do, I will fire you. He says he will do everything possible. Nilu has heard this.
Arda and Pelo are driving. She says, you’re clearly not in a good mood. I understand… you don’t have any news today. But let me give you some news now. Guess who’s at my house? Arda knows who she means. Arda asks, why did she come here? Don’t ask, Pelo replies.
Our guys find the abandoned stolen car. No Fatih or Bahar in sight. Everyone searches the area. Pelo makes a call to the phone. Omer is standing right next to it and picks it up. Omer checks the phone. There was a 3-minute call a half hour ago.
Omer calls the number. Unavailable. He is sure someone informed Fatih. Huseyin says maybe it was a wrong number. Who talks to a wrong number for 3 minutes, Omer replies, clearly someone tipped him off. He suspects Ali. Huseyin dismisses that. Pelo makes a call to have the car taken to forensics.
Huseyin scolds Omer. Instead of playing detective with Elif, why didn’t you inform me about Bahar? If we had gone together, we would have caught him already. [Does Arda look suspicious of Huseyin again?] He tells Omer not to get discouraged.
#86 part 4
Fatih brings Bahar to Rasim’s place. Open the door, he says, we’ll stay here for a while. Bahar is hesitant to enter. Fatih asks Rasim if the police are after him. No, Rasim answers, I’m clear. They’ve left me alone. Make yourselves comfortable. I have something to do, I’ll be back in an hour. Fatih asks, where are you going? Don’t bring the police with you. Rasim says it’s a small job. He has to collect money from a rich kid.
Bahar wonders if this place is safe. She goes to check the kitchen. She’s hungry. There’s not much in the fridge. Tomato paste and oil, and some potatoes. Bahar says she will make potato stew, the national dish of the poor. She smiles at Fatih. He sort of smiles back.
Our guys look at video recordings from pharmacies. There’s Bahar. Omer notes she looks calm. Arda guesses that Fatih threatened her to act relaxed. Omer asks to see video from the front door. The tech cop says they couldn’t get them. Omer is frustrated.
A woman’s voice comes from behind Omer—what happened? Why are you complaining now? Omer doesn’t even turn around. He is stunned. He has an audio flashback. I love you so much, Ipek says. My silk haired one (ipek means silk), Omer says, we’ll go to my place. Ask for me from my mother, she says, let your mother be my mother. Then the memory shifts—he asks, is this a joke? What does this mean, it’s over? Ipek says goodbye. He calls out—Ipek!
Omer turns around. Ipek says, I’m glad to see you. You haven’t changed at all. Omer gets up, walks past her and leaves the room without responding.
Rasim is meeting with Can! Can hands over money. Rasim counts. He’s not happy. Can says he brought it all. Rasim tells him there’s interest to be paid. You didn’t say anything about that, Can replies. I said it now, Rasim tells him, interest is calculated with a debt. Come back tonight with 500. Can says his mother hasn’t deposited any more money for him yet. Rasim puts his hand on the back of Can’s neck. Come on, you’ll find a way. You’re the son of Asli Denizer. She’ll fix it.
Asli is looking at photos of young Can. She’s emotional. Nedret knocks on her door. She’s upset about Nilufer. She’s locked herself in the apartment. Maybe she will hurt herself. Asli says she wouldn’t do that. Nedret sees the photo of Can. She wants to see more. How adorable! You need your son very much, Nedret notes, and he needs his mother. Family is very important. Can flesh and bone be separated?
Asli says she’s not good for her son. Nedret won’t hear it. You’ve been through a lot and maybe you neglected this child. But that doesn’t mean you’re a bad mother. And it doesn’t mean the child doesn’t love you. He doesn’t love me, Asli whimpers. Nedret hugs her. She says they will bring Can home. Children need their mothers. There’s no other option.
Nilu sits in the dark and thinks about Fatih.
Fatih sleeps and Bahar watches TV. He gets restless in his sleep. She kneels beside him and places her hand on his head. He startles awake. She tells him he had a bad dream. He says he sometimes talks in his sleep. She laughs, don’t worry, you didn’t give me any secrets, chemical weapon formulas… calm down and sleep. He tells her to sleep. Tomorrow might be a hard day.
Bahar tells him he’s not such a bad guy. He’s just in a difficult situation. He’s just trying to get clear of it. Once you get out, you’ll feel better. But you can’t trust anyone but yourself. Not even the woman who loves you understands and your father took your kidney. She puts her hand on his head. You’re a poor victim of this situation, just like I am.
#86 part 5
Bahar moves in for a kiss. He backs away, startled. Don’t worry, she says, I don’t want to marry you. I’m a loser just like you. That’s why I choose to live in this moment. She tries again and he backs off again. The third time is the charm. [I can’t believe this guy.]
The 3 musketeers are working at one desk, while Ipek sits alone at another. Omer gives her and uncomfortable glance. He asks Pelo, why is she here? Is she visiting you? Later, Pelo replies. Huseyin comes in and says he’s got 10 men looking at cameras around the city. He looks over at Ipek.
Arda asks if he should send a description to the border posts. Ipek speaks up, he already tried crossing the border, he won’t try it again. At least not for a while. He must be with an accomplice. Omer ignores her comments.
Elif arrives at the station. She sees Ipek and nods hello. A quiet panic sets in with our friends. Omer gets up and hugs Elif. She brought food for everyone. Omer keeps his arm around Elif. Ipek looks disappointed. She says goodbye. Pelo follows her to give her a key to the house. Elif asks, who is she? Huseyin says, she’s Ipek, a colleague of Omer’s. Elif nods and asks if there is any news. No.
Looks like Elif has been there all night while Omer works. She’s got her head down on a desk and is sleeping. Omer gently wakes her. This isn’t comfortable. Go home. She asks if they found Bahar yet. Don’t worry, he replies, we’ll find her. Elif checks her phone. There are several calls from Nedret. Omer says he will call if there’s news.
Omer puts his bad arm around her and walks her out. He winces. She starts in about it. Instead of recovering, you have to solve these problems. He tells her to calm down, he’d give his life for her, and he’s fine. I’m getting better every day, he says. I’m exercising, your aunt’s ointment, the soup, and your honey are all gone. I read on the internet that hot springs are good. We’ll go to one. I’d prefer to go to a doctor, she replies. She warns him, you’re not going to escape me. He replies, who would want to escape you? There’s a nice little kiss.
Contented Bahar gets cuddly with guilty Fatih, and he quickly gets dressed. She promises she won’t betray him. He tells her this meant nothing. She’s giddy. He tells her it’s better if she leaves now. I’m in danger while you’re here. If you go home, Omer will leave me alone,at least for a while.
Bahar notes the Fatih is really scared. She says she won’t chase him. She admits, I just have a weakness for things that the Denizers’ possess. That’s all. Fatih asks, so you know how to face your weaknesses? That’s right, she replies, you should face them too. I think you’re afraid of yourself and you don’t know what you will do when we meet again.
Fatih writes something on a scrap of newspaper and tells Bahar to give it to Omer. And he warns her not to talk to anyone because he wouldn’t have any problem killing her. Bahar’s not so happy now. [girl, put some clothes on.] Fatih leaves the room.
And we are out.
Excellent recap Dondi! As always! Thank you!
Wow, not surprised Bahar went for it...it was clear she was lusting after Fatih from day 1 although I didn't really understand why! I'm a little disappointed that Fatih did it, but I can't buy into this Fatih and Nilu as HEA so... neh.
I do still feel bad for Nilu though in the Nilu vs. Elif and Asli situation. Nilu's actions aren't good, but I still feel like both Elif and Asli treat Nilu badly! They claim to love Nilu and be willing to do anything for her, they even show her love as far as affection, but they don't show any real INTEREST in her, in her life, her feelings, her struggles. It's been the same story since day 1 they were worried sick about her when she was missing/kidnapped but the second she's home it's quick hugs and kisses then she's left alone with Mert or movies while Elif goes to work or Omer and Asli goes to AsliLand. It's easy to criticize Nilu's emotions and choices - and there's lots to criticize - but they have tried to support or be there for any of them at all! Nilu is the perfect victim for someone like Fatih for a reason.
I really liked your comments about Fatih's post-kidney donations feats! lol he had sex with multiple women! What a stud....yuck!
Great summary (as always), Dondi! This tale has so many twists and turns to keep us on our toes.
Thanks for the clarification on the end of 85. Fatih makes much more sense than Elif. I really struggled with that. With the English no longer available, I’ll have to pay closer attention. My Spanish is good, but it’s very nice to have a second language available for reference. Thankfully, you also have the original Turkish! We are so lucky!
I wonder why they pulled the English. That will hurt people who only speak English! I was literally in the midst of my summary, and from one day to the next it disappeared. I couldn’t believe it and wasted lots of time looking for it.
Babachita
Thank you for your kind words and comments, Darcy and Babachita.
Yep, no doubt Bahar went for it. She admitted it to Fatih. She covets all things Denizer. ITA Fatih was a disappointment. And I keep thinking—how can he function like this? lol
I think Elif and Asli love Nilu, but they don’t take her seriously enough. She’s their immature little sister. And yes, Elif and Asli have their own pressing issues to deal with. It’s unfortunate. ITA, “Nilu is the perfect victim for someone like Fatih for a reason.” It’s a crazy relationship that’s hard to buy into. But viewers liked this pair.
Even though I don’t like the English dubbing, I agree that it’s a mistake to pull it.
I got the short and sweet version today - it ended up even shorter than I expected I think because there were several longer portions with no dialog but also, I rushed more than usual too because I just super busy this weekend trying to get everything done before my trip!
I apologize in advance for any typos, I normally do a final read through and proof before publishing, but I know you all will forgive me! Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Pelo brings Arda tea and something to eat while he avoids Cigdem’s call. Arda still hasn’t told Pelo what happened at the doctor’s office and it’s driving her crazy! She’s been trying not to ask but she’s losing it and she forces the conversation. Arda acknowledges the truth without actually saying it. He doesn’t want Pelin to break up with him, she is his life! He asks her to give him time to figure things out before they make any decisions… Pelo says nothing and just walks away. Arda throws his pen in frustration.
Elif comes to breakfast. There’s no news on Behar and everyone is nervous, Elif is too upset to eat. She says she doesn’t understand why Fatih hasn’t called to threaten her. Everyone is anxious but then Behar shows up!
Pelo confronts Arda about checking the cell of Omer again after they recovered it from the scene. Arda thinks Tayyar called to warn Fatih and that Huseyin gave Tayyar the number of course! Pelo is upset of course but Arda says the call was too long for a wrong number!!! Huseyin is Tayyar’s man! Although frustrated by this conversation, the look on Pelo’s face says that Arda’s logic isn’t falling entirely on deaf ears. Huseyin interrupts Arda’s flow though and Omer is right behind so Pelo deflects the conversation and orders tea for everyone.
Behar tells the story that Fatih was completely crazy and treated her horrible. He didn’t even give her anything to eat. Nilu keeps giving her pointed looks. This story does even hold Asli’s attention (or Tia’s) as both ladies easily leave the room to go attend to whatever it is Levent needs at the company – they aren’t going to tell Elif for now. Meanwhile, Elif, Behar, and Nilu start to argue start to fight about whether or not Behar should’ve told Elif! Behar says even after she had a knife to her throat Nilu and Elif can’t think about anything but themselves! Which is true enough but hard to feel sorry for her when she slept with her capture – something in common with Nilufer!
In the office, Levent is in a meeting with Mert – he doesn’t look thrilled. Demet must have gotten permission to work because she’s there too and looking for guidance on who to give her report to but most of those around her are ignoring her. Mert pays attention though and helps her out. He looks at the report and says she’s in the right place and she needs to give the information to him actually! Demet thinks that’s wonderful!!! Because she actually knows who he is, of course… but then she takes the report back! LOL Mert tells her to wait and says she needs to actually give it to him. Demet giggles, oh of course, she hands it over again and he bobs her nose promising to help her out. Demet is definitely smitten! Mert doesn’t seem to notice. He does notice Tia and Asli arriving and welcomes them and they are happy to see he’s working and going to school. He tells them he left the hotel because he can’t afford it. He’s now saying with a friend from school. He’ll pay them back the money he owes them but it will have to be in payments.
Demet tries to run into Mert again and ask him to take a coffee break with her but he can’t right then, he has too many things to do. She also can’t help but notice that he calls her little girl.
The meeting with Asli and Tia is about money. The company lost some clients with Elif went to jail and now they are in big trouble to the turn of $9M! Eek…. But never fear Auntie is going to write a check, oh I mean wire in an influence of cash, of course this will mean that she gets to take a peek at all the finances! She’s going to need to see where all the expenses are coming and going. Asli thinks this is fine, after all, at the end of the day it’s a family business. Levent looks a little uncomfortable.
Omer arrives on the scene and looks suspicious of Behar. She plays the paralyzed victim and Omer comes right out and confronts her about looking calm, cool and collected on the pharmacy video cameras. Behar tries to play it off as acting because she had to but Omer doesn’t look convinced.
Tia takes Asli to visit Can. She’s not well received but he doesn’t slam the door in her face so it’s something. Asli learns that Can hasn’t seen his father in weeks and she asks why he hasn’t called her but he says why would I call? Are you my mother? You both abandoned me a long time ago?
Behar is still crying and telling her sob story and Omer is trying to figure out where Fatih took her? Even Nilu is trying to help with this? It’s kind of hard to focus on this conversation when I know she’s lying out of her teeth. Finally, Omer asks why did Fatih let you go? And Behar says oh, I almost forgot, he had a message for you! She hands him the piece of paper. It says I’ll see you Friday at Caraco at 10 am. Nilu looks hopeful and Behar looks angry – sure enough Nilu thinks it’s a sign that Fatih is choosing her and turning himself in.
Omer similarly thinks Fatih is choosing between him and Tayyar but he’s less sure of what the outcome will be and he only has 72 days to solve this case. Elif is sure he will succeed.
Asli comes home with Can and rings the doorbell? Elif asks Can how he is and when he answers rudely Asli jumps down his throat. Auntie tells her to be patient with him and speak to him with kindness. She runs off to try again.
Elif asks Auntie to take care of the house for her for the day.
Fatih calls Nilu and he asks if Behar arrived? She asks why. They proceed to have a halted conversation where it’s clear they are talking about two different things. Fatih is apologizing for sleeping with Behar and Nilu thinks he’s talking about kidnapping her. Then Nilu is just talking about him meeting with Omer to turn himself in.
Not to be outdone by Fatih, Elif kidnaps Omer! She wants to take him somewhere for the day but Omer is a wet blanket he says it’s a bad idea. He’s too close to Fatih! He needs to work! He can’t stop! Elif can’t believe it, he said when Behar came back, they would take a break. It’s only one day! He promised! She convinces him.
Some guy comes to Tayyar, he believes he’s found Fatih.
Omer calls Arda and informs him that he’s taking the night off, let him know if there’s any news.
Asli looks in on Can playing video games, she doesn’t talk just watches.
Omer and Elif check into a hotel. Then get some quality time down by the pool. Long lingering looks past by the pool and Omer says he will continue to look at Elif that way when she’s very old because she will still be very beautiful. They then debate how many children they should have. They begin talking about just one but then talk about how they couldn’t have missed having children. A waiter comes to bring them drinks and fruit for their ‘honeymoon’ and they play along. They next talk about needing a new song that better represent there love and a song plays in the background while the scene moves on from the pool to a suddenly cold weather dressed Elmer hiking by a lake and finally having dinner at the hotel. When they get to the dinner and wine Elif is asking about Ibek and it seems clear that Elif got a vibe the night before but Omer downplays it and says Ibek is just an old colleague.
Ibek and Pelo talk about what happened as well. Pelo lets Ibek know that Omer is engaged and Ibek says she saw Elif and she’s very beautiful.
Elif calls Behar. She’s surprised to find that Behar is out and about and claiming to be ‘bored’ staying at home since Fatih is still at large and Behar counters with why would he take me again he already let me go? Fair enough. Elif is completely reassured but she just asks Behar to message her when she gets back home and Behar agrees.
And there our episode ends.
