Mi verdad #68 part 1
Caty calls Armando on speaker phone with the happy news which he is less than happy to hear. This will cause big problems with his superiors. Luciano guessed that was where you went. You cannot make contact with anyone from your past do you understand.
A sad looking Belinda exits her house by the front door
Aitana visits Zac to tell him that she and Ximena accessed the hidden room last night. She describes what she saw, and that one woman looked a lot like Ximena (I don't really see the resemblance myself)
Belinda is grooming her horse. Gael finds her. She says she was a little afraid to go outside but she didn't want to remain cooped up. Gael has his toolbox to take care of an outside job. She asks if he'd mind riding double with her. Whatever you like he says. Silly girl mounts but falls off into his arms (not a move a horsewoman would make unless the saddle wasn't cinched properly and it slipped. That was not the case here). As he sets her down who should appear but Ceci. Am I interrupting she asks.
Aitana thinks that resemblance is behind his infatuation with Ximena. She's put Adolfo on the case to discover who the mystery woman is. But the thing that really affected him was that in that room was the morning after pills. Now Zac can't wait to get out and get Mateo for killing his baby. Aitana says when you get out you can't fly off the handle, keep your cool. She grabs his chin as he fumes silently. Do you hear me! But I promise the Lizarrága's will pay for what they've done, I swear.
Adolfo is speaking with the family lawyer (thanks Clara for clearing that up). Since it was pre meditated attempted murder Zac is being transferred to the prison.
Aitana comes out from her visit with Zac and greets Adolfo, then Clem and Juventino arrive and introductions are made. Clem thanks him, she has his fee and the bail money. He tells her the bad news.
Ceci has brought Gael some money from their business partnership. He says I would have come to get it. She goads him that didn't you want me to see your little romance you've got going. They deny it, but she says I can tell you are enamored of her, and guess what, I bet Belinda feels the same way about you. They both kinda look anywhere but at each other.
At the jail Zac is taken out in handcuffs as the women wail and the men are going to fight to prove his innocence.
Belinda was so uncomfortable she ran off. Gael chides Ceci for what she did. She says I had hoped to revive our relationship but that isn't to be so I actually did you a favor
Belinda has run home and is actually happy mooning over Gael on her bed .
At the hospital Eloisa wants Luciano to take her home as she's tired. He wants to speak with Mateo then they'll go. Eloisa says Ximena is with him now you don't need to visit. Luciano asks why have you changed your opinion about Ximena? She says I've got enough problems to deal with so I'm not fighting their relationship. Luciano has his doubts that's what's driving her. Something happened to change your opinion and I'll find out sooner or later. Aitana interrupts them. She's furious Eloisa has used her money and influence to have Zac transferred. She accuses her some more and Eloisa says stop, have you forgotten you are my employee. Aitana says perfect. I quit.

Luciano catches up with Aitana and now it's their turn to argue. What about Belinda. You are a nurse you can't abandon your patient. You have no proof that Zac didn't knife Mateo. She has a response for all.
Zac seems to have a friendly cell mate. He's giving him advice on survive in jail. Pay for protection is his counsel. Zac says I'm not rich. Cellmate says my old lady pays for my protection every week it's been 3 years.
Luciano is now trying to woo Aitana (hardly seems the right time for this). She says our is an impossible love. He wants her to explain why they can't be together. She tears up.and shakes her head no.
Ceci returns to Nuria's where she learns the happy news that she is divorced. Juanjo is there too. Nuria is worried what Iñigo's next move will be but they feel confident they can counteract anything he tries.
Aitana says I'd rather say goodbye than have you hate me. He says I could never hate you. They kiss with a tear trailing down her cheek. She stops him, no more kisses, turns and walks away.
Belinda meets Gael back at the stable. Gael admits to her that Ceci was right, he is in love with her. She admits she feels the same. One potential HEA! (2 if we count Nuria and Juanjo).
Nuria wonders why Ceci has such a long face. She tells her about Gael and Belinda. Nuria says Eloisa will hit the roof! She'll never accept Belinda with the cooks son, just like she won't accept Ximena, or even me .
Gael and Belinda walk hand in hand he wants to tell her dad they are novios. She thinks this may not be the right time because of the inheritance fight. Even though Dad is diff than the others in the family. Some sweet kisses are shared as they promise to love each other always.
Nuria tells Ceci she made a good point about her girls ( I must have missed something because I'm not sure what the point is). Something about their inheritance and family name.
Larisa enters her apartment. She gets a message from the hospital. The results are in. Luciano is not the dad. She can't believe it. But Iñigo is.
Eloisa and Luciano return home. He yells for Belinda. Claudia comes in and says she's at the stables. Eloisa asks Claudia to bring her some tea in her room. Luciano calls Belinda to come home and help with Grandma. And Aitana, Belinda asks. Aitana quit Luciano breaks the news.

Larisa paces, what am I going to do,? She can't believe her bad luck
Adolfo talks to Clem and Juventino. He understands their concerns and will arrange for prison protection for Zac. The cost is no object Clem says. Gael comes home and tells them Aitana quit. Clem is sure it's because of what happened to Zac. Gael asks about their sad faces. He learns about Zac.
Zacs cellmate tells him best to keep your mouth shut. He gets taunted by 3 prisoners. They call him Zaca which sounds a bit like sucker.
Belinda goes to Aitana's room where she is packing. She can't believe it's true she's leaving. Aitana can't stand what Eloisa and her uncles are doing to Zac sending him to prison. That's news to Belinda. Aitana says I'll be staying at Zac's house. You can see me every day if you want. Belinda says it's not the same, I need you here by my side, to lie beside me when I have nightmares, etc. Aitana hugs her . Do you know how humiliating it is serving your abuela when she has sent Zac to the prison. She understands.
Hitman is masked and gloved ( with an arm full of tats, I bet one matches the tat on the head honchos neck )up in the hospital. He approaches Tomas room. The guard checks his id against a roster and is allowed access. There is no photo on the id badge, that's different than US hospitals and Dr offices. He enters the room and puts some medicine from a vial into a syringe.
Luciano has set mom on the side of the bed and is getting her meds. She blacks out and topples to the floor. Luciano hollers for help. Aitana and Belinda rush in. They set her up in the floor against the bed and Aitana calls the doctor. Luciano lifts mom up onto the bed (CC correctly imo. I've done elder care and that's how I do it, though usually from behind, not in front.).
The hitman has injected the drug into the iv bag. He asks Tomàs if he can get him anything. Tomàs asks about security. Guy says they are outside the door, 24/7 then leaves.
Clem says this is ear. Gael says but not all the Lizarrága are bad. Luciano, Bruno, Belinda. We are now novios, BTW. The parents are happy to hear that news. Gael just hopes that her dad accepts them as a couple, he doesn't care about the others.
Armando is speaking with the doctor about questioning Tomas when a nurse rushes up to them about Tomàs.
Dr Mendiola is giving Eloisa a sedative. He wants Aitana to continue to administer it for 3 days. She doesn't want to be in bed 3 days with all the problems going on. And you need to find me a new nurse because Aitana quit.
Tomàs is dead.
Dr. Mendiola tries to get Aitana to change her mind. This is not the time for a change in nurses (in a hospital you go through 2 or 3 a day, I don't see the problem).
Armando to the Dr, you said he was ok! Who was the last person in the room. The nurse checks the log and gives a name. She goes to look for him and as she leaves the room she sees Gustavo on the floor in his skivvies. Nobody tripped over him before this?
Belinda and Luciano also beg Aitana to stay until abuela improves. Luciano agrees he'd feel the same way in her place, but she has a bigger heart. Not only mom needs you, also Belinda.
The Dr will do an autopsy. Armando can't believe this was done right under their noses. Gustavo has woken up but didn't see who hit him. Armando wants all the security footage. Rolando comes to visit dad. Armando gives him the news....
Aitana agrees to stay, for Belinda. But if Eloisa treats me bad I'm gone...

Kat, your observant eye and sharp wit was in evidence throughout your excellent recap.
I had to smile at "...she sees Gustavo on the floor in his skivvies. Nobody tripped over him before this?" which mirrored my thoughts exactly. Also, what on earth is the point of a pictureless ID especially when guarding someone's life? Head scratching.

"Now Zac can't wait to get out and get Mateo for killing his baby" - an understandable reaction; I did an eyeroll when "Aitana says when you get out you can't fly off the handle, keep your cool". Really? C'mon, Zac can't keep calm under the most serene of circumstances!
I enjoyed Belinda and Gael getting together, although also felt a pang of sympathy for Ceci whom I've really grown to like. It would be nice if Nuria and Juanjo have a happy ending as well.

Aitana and Luciano ending up together just doesn't seem possible. Aitana was so traumatized by her abuse, she concocted this entire grand scheme of revenge. To think she will be able to "live with" being married to her torturers' brothers is a stretch. But as this is fantasy and not reality, I'm sure it will occur.

Yes, goodbye to Tomas. His demise seemed drawn out, couldn’t the car accident have finished him off? Must be important to future plot somehow.
Looking forward to meeting Rolando’s mom.
I like Ceci. She is a truth-teller. Gael is too young and sweet for her, but I’d like her to get together with someone. No candidate on the horizon though.

Clara, I figure Tomàs death was to highlight the master manipulator that is running the racket and to demonstrate how inept Armando is by discussing sensitive matters in public so we could all point out the stupidity!
Jarifa, I imagine Eloisa will linger for quite a while yet. I predict she'll die before seeing the inside of a prison for what she's done though. I really expected Aitana to continue packing and leaving her high and dry. I'm sure there are other nurses out there they can hire on short notice.

Of course, nasty , pompous, gesturing Inigo is Larisa's baby's dad . So, what happens with Laura to activate Inigo's anvil drop?
OT I watched a promo for "Guardian De MI vida " and I couldn't believe how completely different Sergio Sendel looks with the white hair in a manbun!!!
I am looking forward to this show and all the familiar faces,. I am a fan of both Diego Klein and Daniel A. Susan

Susan, I so loved Erika Buenfil and Eduardo Yanez in Amores Verdaderos, I can't imagine anything coming close.
However, I am crazy about Daniel Arenas and also like Diego and Paulina. I saw the same promo and yes, Sendel with the manbun was a shock. That said, he looks great.
I am hoping that Corazón de oro replaces Mi Verdad when it ends but may end up giving Guardian a look :)

Diana, from what I saw, Guardian will start Monday May 18 at 9. Kimberly dos Ramos plays a villain . There are other familiar faces. I think it looks promising .

Luckily for Larisa she has two DNA tests. I assume she did it so Luciano will be the dad. I guess she was upset because Inigo’s blood will be in her baby. I hate that Luciano will believe the test she shows him. I wonder how he’ll discover the switch!
I hope Rolando’s mom is nice and we get to see her. I wonder if he’ll ever know what his father did.

Luciano calls Iñigo who is at the UPS ale bar. He wants him to do something I didn't understand and mentions all he is after is money. Then he says mom is in bad shape. Iñigo looks excited about this (money signs I think if she's dead). He wants to know what's wrong and Luciano says get over here and see her for yourself and hangs up.
Belinda is so happy Aitana is sticking around for now. Belinda tells her she and Gael are novios and they both grin and scream like giddy schoolgirls (which of course is what Belinda is, a bit over the top I thought for Aitana). That explains the sparkle in your eyes. Belinda wants to keep it quiet for now. Abuela will hit the roof and I don't want her getting worse physically by my fault. Aitana agrees keep it from her for her health, but don't hide it from your dad.
The ranch hands have been assembled by Gael. The lawyer, Adolfo, wants them to think back to the days around Mateo being stabbed if anyone saw zacs things being messed with, use the knife being stolen. One lady looks like maybe she knows something.
Belinda says I don't want him to think I'm flighty as I just broke up with Rolando, and the conflict between the families is a factor. Belinda tells her your dad will approve if he makes you happy. Belinda says Gael wants to speak to him about us himself. Aitana says all the better. Belinda says we are now sisters in law since we are dating the two brothers.
Inigo has come to the ranch. He can't believe Aitana remained, she was out of here. Of course it's because you are dieing of love for her. Have an affair with her, Zac is locked up, (he's pissing Luciano off). I'm not kike you Iñigo, i don't use or take advantage of women. Iñigo claims I've never forced a woman. Luciano says, and Nuria? Iñigo says we are now divorced. They argue some more and Iñigo leaves to see mom
Aitana is in the room with her. He's snide with Aitana. Luciano tells him to behave, she's staying as a favor. Mom is sedated. Iñigo leaves.
Armando talks with Rolando. He does know now about his dad. He's upset, dad was my hero. Armando advised him to go with his mother to argue and begin a new life. He's young. Rolando says I have to forget years of my life here.
Mateo is talking to Iñigo on the phone. Mateo is upset about mom. Iñigo says she's sedated but looks ok. He doesn't like hospitals so he won't visit him there, besides he has something important going on tonight. Ximena is in the room with Mateo. After he hangs up.with Iñigo he blows up because he's stuck in this bed and mom is bad all thanks to that rotten Aitana. She tries to get more specifics from Mateo about Aitana but he shuts her down and yells at her to leave. He calls someone on the phone. "Do it today.".
Luciano tells an upset Aitana after her altercation with Iñigo) that he has to get to the ranch and work. Call if I'm needed. She asks where's Bruno, I haven't seen him. Luciano just so happens to have his letter in his hand, and he tells her he's gone. He gives her the letter to read. She understands why he's left, this liberates him. Luciano why she says that. He was tormented about something, did he ever tell you what. She says no, but she was glad to witness the change in him . Hell become a better person when he finds peace far from here and his family.
Zac is being threatened in jail by one of the 3 bad guys who pulls a knife.

Well the knife appears to be a piece of a mirror and Zac is managing to keep it from cutting him, but then a guy comes in to save the day and Hugo, the bad guy, is taken down by him. The guards drag Hugo off. Zac and his cellmate are left with this inmate hero guy (Juancho) who tells him he's his new security detail.
Luciano asks Tere to send him the video. She doesn't have his number so he does it. He asks who has seen this video. Only me and my novio, but he doesn't know who he is. Luci asks her to keep silent about it and asks her to delete it. She says only when Zac is free (I agree,). He's glad she shared it with him and not the lawyer. She doesn't want any trouble with the police. She trusts Luciano and she doesn't know the lawyer.
Sofia, the therapist, has finished a session with Belinda. She says she's looking more content, and that love works wonders. After she leaves Rolando calls the house phone ( which is a cell phone it appears but she answers casa Lizarrága). Rolando begs her not to hang up. My dad is dead. He has realized it was because of something he told his dad that she was kidnapped and he asks her forgiveness. He loves her, but this is goodbye as he's leaving the country ( I think that's what was said).
Juancho tells Zac, who is back in his cell with his cellmate, joel, that his family has paid him to protect him. Hugo will be in solitary for a few days, but he'll be back. I'll protect you.
Mateo wants the Dr to release him. He says the wound hasn't closed up yet. Mateo wants to get to mama. Ximena calmly tells him your mom isn't gravely I'll, do as the Dr advises. Mateo of course tells her not to meddle. Dr. Says I won't sign your release, if you leave you will sign that it is against medical advice. Mateo is fine with that. I want to leave now
Inigo argue in the hallway. Not sure about what, except he tells Luciano that Mateo is his problem, not his. Larisa arrives. She's glad to see him and she wants to.see Eloisa. Inigo pipes up, bad luck, Luciano is on his way out and mom is indisposed. She gives him the results if the DNA test. Your the dad. Iñigo is impactada. Larisa says we can tell your mom we are having her first grandson. (Technically the first grandson part is correct).
Aitana calls mom. She's walking outside. But mom is in her house on speaker phone as she badmouths Mateo and can't wait till she is out of that house if depravity. Bruno has left. He was a victim of his mother and brothers. Micaela has heard it all. Miriam asks Micaela how long have you been there, long enough she says.
Larisa talks about plans for their son. Luciiano says I have more importing to do, my plans have changed in regards to you. Inigo tells her to wait as she tries to leave
Miriam tells Micaela she should have told her she was there when talking to her daughter. Micaela begs her to tell her what's going on for her goddaughter's sake. Fine but swear you won't say a word to anyone. Sit down and listen to my story.
Larisa taunts Iñigo. He asks did you falsify the records? She taunts him, imagine how all your problems would have been resolved if this boy was yours, but he's not. He thinks I need to know if it's mine. She thinks you'll never know he's yours.
Aitana gets a call about the woman in the photos. Her name is Gabriela Duran. She's been missing 3 years she worked at a vets pharmacy office in Matlan. Surely she knew Mateo. Do you think it would be ok to contact the family,? He gets a call in the other line. It's the jail informing him about the attack. Aitana is going to tell Clem and have Belinda sit with Eloisa.

Mateo goes to the hacienda with Ximena and accuses Aitana of harming his mother Belinda sticks up for her. He tells her she's not a blood relation so she has no standing in the family. Lots of yelling going on. He starts bleeding. Belinda tells Aitana go and check on Zac, but she's worried about Belinda. Aitana tells Mateo as she leaves that Zac was attacked in jail but wasn't injured. Micaela is shocked at the story.
Mateo is the one that put the hit on Mateo, no surprise.
Micaela wants to go and rescue Micaela. Miriam points out she's an adult. Aitana and Zac are looking out for her.
Belinda is quite snippy with Mateo (kinda like a teenage daughter that knows everything. Is this a hint to her parentage,?). Ximena tells him something that made no sense when I translated it from the CC. Mateo tells her not to meddle. Take me to my mom. I don't care if she's sedated. If you don't like it go back to the apartment. She leaves him with his medicine and storms off.
Clem, Juventino and Aitana visit Zac at the prison. Clem is ready to renounce the inheritance and leave. Zac says no, that's what they want. I'd rather stay here a million times over. Zac is worried Aitana. She's keeping the enemy close for safety. They are all gripping hands and not a single guard has called "no touching".
Mateo checks on ma. He gets a call from the unsuccessful assassin. Mateo is not happy with him. He wants Mateo dead already.
Ximena is back at the apartment. She's confused. Maybe Micaela and Aitana are right.
Iñigo has a special dinner set up in his hotel room for him and Laura. She says we won't end up in that bed. He says, no, I just prefer a more intimate setting to eat than at a restaurant.
Luciano shows Mateo the proof he has that Zac was set up.
Laura and Iñigo talk about their likes and dislikes. Iñigo asks about her ex. Juanjo is a good man (ding ding that's the connection I guessed). She mentions that Matlan is a small town. He makes a move but she's not receptive. We're eating dinner. Do you want me to stop he asks. She says no and they hit the bed.
Luciano tells Mateo you need to undo the charges you made against Zac or I'll provide this video to the police and you will go to jail for making false statements.The only thing preventing him is that Mom is his accomplice and he doesn't want to harm her. He has until tomorrow morning or her showing this to that authorities in the afternoon. Mateo pulls the I'm injured card, but Luciano could care less

From the annals of things that make no sense but we're grateful for: Tere having the video of Mateo stealing and prepping Zac's knife. Huh? But OK...Iñigo somehow managing to seduce Laura (total head scratcher) who seemed totally disinterested (great call on figuring out who she is Kat).
Several careless conversations: Miriam with Aitana, leading Micaela now privvy to all the details (perhaps it's best though). Also, I half expected Eloisa's eyes to pop open when Aitana was on the phone whispering.

In the yelling between Mateo and Belinda, he insulted her by calling her “recogida,” picked up, as a discarded reject. After Belinda left, Ximena admonished Mateo for having said that, angering him. Yes, squabble intriguing in terms of possible parentage.
At least seems to be dawning on confused Ximena what a jerk Mateo is, even if she doesn’t see him as a psychopath. In the convo between Miriam and Micaela (I too was surprised Miriam let all the secrets fly), Miriam dropped a good saying while discussing Ximena’s behavior: “no one is more blind than the person who doesn’t want to see.” (No hay peor ciego que el que no quiere ver),
So who paid for Zac’s protection in prison? Luciano? Clem?

Thanks Kat, another great recap as the episodes get more intense. I didn’t realize who Laura was until she said JuanJo. I think Inigo sought her as soon as he realized who her ex was. He’s the type to want to get even. I originally figured he’d lose his temper and hurt her, now I think he just wants to rub what he did in JuanJo’s face! What an immature pr_ _ k.
Luciano has more trust in Mateo than he should. There’s no way that video survives. He’s only a little more aware than Ximena. She saw and heard what he thinks of his own niece and still has doubts. I stopped worrying about her a while ago.
Mateo needs to face the deaths he caused, so I’m hoping he lives. He’s sicker than Inigo. Although I can’t stand any scene where his face appears. Something about his looks, like you can see the meanness in it. In a perfect ending they both end up in jail and lose their share of the inheritance. Zac can partner with Luciano.

I do feel like previous episodes/dialogue have foreshadowed Zac’s fate but I hope I’m wrong. He’s already said twice, I think, that he would die for Aitana. It looks like he’s protected IN jail but outside anything can happen.
For some reason I just can’t picture Belinda being a half sister to Iñigo’s daughters. Mateo lives to serve himself and his mother. He’s obviously the worst one between himself, Iñigo and Lomeli but if he is Belinda’s biological father I don’t think he’d care all that much. Whether or not he tries to harm Belinda…I don’t know.
I hope the video is enough proof to free Zacarias and that Mateo takes his place in prison.
