lobo

lunes Just highlights. I have to rise early tomorrow. Cocula resists Lobo. Go ahead and shoot me right here (in front of De la Colina mansion).

More Hugo and Adela. He says he’s fine with her sleeping alone when she moves in, letting her recover.

Graciela does connect the dots when speaking with Fer. She now believes that her having told Cruz what Agustin said about Cruz's involvement with Gustavo’s death resulted in Agustin being killed.

Hugo and Lobo plan something over the phone.

Oscar tries to appear to be on Sué’s side, but then he puts a move on her. He gets hot coffee on his chest for that.

Lobo is grilling Cocula in some locker room, but Cocula keeps hanging tough.

Santi gives Renata a lesson about primary colors and removes the mic from a lamp behind her back.

Graciela comes to tell her sister about what happened with Cruz. She wants to join forces.

Antonia speaks to the press saying she has evidence linking Cruz with Gustavo’s death. Later Leonor keeps playing dumb with her sons about what could possibly be the new evidence.

Sué confides in Zahie about Oscar and how Nacho sided with his father. Eugenio offers her a place to stay.

Lobo shows Cocula Magola tied up and gagged on his phone. Cocula resists some but eventually tells on camera about the plot to kill De la Colina.

Antonia finds out her father covered for Cruz in the killing of her mother.

Yawn. El Az meets with Graciela and Miranda. Insults are exchanged and no deal is reached.

Looks like Cocula was going to escape Hugo AGAIN! But he shoots Cocula in the end.

Antonia tells Lobo she won’t be able to forgive Eugenio.

Cruz’s sons believe Antonia and wash their hands of him.

Santi calls Antonia for Renata. Renata heard the presser and believes Antonia about what her father did.

"LOBO"
Novelera: Thank you very much for the recap of last night's episode. I won't be able to watch tonight because I will be watching Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals between San Antonio Spurs (#GOSPURSGO) vs defending NBA champion OKC Thunder.

My personal thoughts:
*Hothead Oscar will NOT stop trying to go after Sue until something deadly happens.

*I wasn't shocked when Antonia found out about Eugenio's covering up for Slippery Cruz in Carmen's death. The ramifications are going to be quite interesting.

*Agreeing with you about El Az, Clingy Miranda & Buji Goldie Locks. However, if I'm Goldie Locks, I might want to watch my back.

*I would make sure that Cocula is really dead because he might come right back LOL.

*Nacho & Cesar FINALLY believe Antonia & washing their hands of Slippery Cruz, who I think is plotting something since we're in Ultimos Capitulos.

*Tick-Tock Lady Macbeth because you're going down too.

#57 part 1

Slight rewind of Orhan chastising Abidin. Edit: After Orhan walks, Abi cries and bends with his hands on his knees. He straightens up and rips the red string from his wrist.

Phone alarm goes off. Seyran startles awake in the lounger and utters—Ferit! She looks around. The bed hasn’t been slept in. Nothing on the couch. She gets up and knocks on the bathroom door. Ferit? He’s not there. She begins to worry that something happened to him. [I’ll say… an attack of stupidity.]

Seyran calls Abidin. Is your boss with you? He didn’t come home last night, so I was worried. Abi starts to answer and she interrupts—I don’t care where, did something happen to him? I called to see if you had any news. Nothing happened, Abi answers, he’s fine, he called. He’ll be back soon. She thanks him. Abi starts to apologize but Seyran has already hung up. Abi shouts at Ferit in absentia. Seyran is angry with Ferit, too, [maybe herself for worrying] and she throws a pillow. Gerizekalı!

Dicle and the camel, Yusuf, are right outside the staff quarters. She’s fixing his tie, he reaches out to pick something out of her hair. Abi sees them and loses it. He belts Yusuf and shouts, what the hell are you doing?! I’ll kill you! He grabs Yusuf and shakes him around. What’s it to you, Yusuf snaps back. Dicle steps in and pushes Abi. What’s wrong with you?!

Abi tells Dicle to shut up. He points his finger at her—you’re telling your mother about this. What are you talking about, she asks, tell her what? We’re just two friends talking outside. Abi shouts, how did you become friends? How?

Don’t yell at me, Dicle replies, what a shame…if my dad saw you… Abi counters, don’t even mention your father’s name. If only you were like him instead of your [conniving, horny] mother. Abi warns Yusuf. I’ll be watching you. Be careful. Abi storms off.

Slight edit: Seyran is dressed. She looks at herself in the mirror and applies lipstick. She wipes her eyes. She takes a breath and forces a smile, but it doesn’t last long.

Ferit is getting ready to leave Pelin. Slight edit here. He points to the nice breakfast Pelo prepared and tells her she did well. She notes he didn’t eat anything, as she helps him with his coat. He tells her that he is trying to cut down. He needs to pay more attention to his eating and drinking habits. He asks if Burak is on his way. Yes, Pelo says she texted him.

Pelo tells Ferit he can leave. He asks, are you sure? Yes, she replies, that matter is over and done. Don’t do anything else. Serter isn’t in our lives anymore. Ferit is ticked and asks, why did Serter even exist in our lives? I’ll ask Burak about this later. I won’t get angry today. Pelo apologizes. Ferit answers, just don’t do stuff you have to apologize for. Listen to me the first time, okay? She promises. They go to the door, and she asks if they will see each other again soon. We’ll see, he says flatly. Pelo smiles as she closes the door. [what does this smile mean?]

Ferit tries to hail a cab. Too bad that cab didn’t stop because it gives Ferit the chance to see Serter heading to Pelo’s building with a big bouquet. Ferit heads back to Pelo.

Pelo smiles when her doorbell rings. She obviously thinks Ferit has returned. It’s Serter. She asks him, what are you doing here? Please, let’s talk, he says, I’m here to apologize. She tries to close the door. He puts his hand out. Pelin, please. She asks him to leave. There are things I need to tell you, he says, let’s talk calmly. It won’t be like yesterday. I’ll apologize and leave. Against her better judgment, Pelo lets him in.

#57 part 2

Here comes Ferit. He listens by the door. Serter begins, there are times when people lose control. That happened yesterday. I… I know what I did was very wrong and I came to apologize. Pelo says she wants to believe him. Serter says he deeply regrets what he did. That’s fine, she replies, you apologized and you can go. Burak is coming, I don’t want him to see you. She moves away from him.

Serter asks, is that all? That’s it, Pelo says. Serter goes to leave. Ferit still has his ear to the door. Serter stops before leaving. I’m curious… I know Ferit spent the night here. I’m wondering… did you make up? Or were you seeing him while we were together? Pelo is upset and says he’s being inappropriate. I just want to know, he replies, I want to understand. What was I to you? We spent a lot of time together, and Ferit has been on your mind all along.

Pelo admits Ferit stayed and that they made up. Serter darkens and warns, I’ll show Ferit who he messed with. You asked for this. Serter opens the door and there’s Ferit. Pelo is alarmed. Ferit asks, what is it, kardeş? You wanted to see me? Pelo steps in front of Ferit and explains, he came to apologize, he’s on his way out.

Serter tells Ferit, not here, not now. You already know what is wanted. We showed you the trailer. Ferit replies, that movie won’t be a hit. We’ll see, Serter says. They stare at each other for a moment and then Ferit tells him to go. He laughs. Serter finally leaves. Ferit closes the door and his hand goes to his head. He tells Pelo, get your things, we’re leaving. She asks where. He says, do you think I’m leaving you here alone? [I thought Burak was coming?] That guy is crazy. He’ll keep coming back. Get ready!

Pelo says he came and apologized. He left. Ferit raises his voice. He wouldn’t have if I hadn’t showed up! Let’s go! Pelo says okay, but where? We won’t be safe anywhere? Ferit thinks of the worst possible place—we’ll go to our place (the yali). What? [Even Pelo can’t believe it.]

Serter gets on his phone right away. Hello, Dayı [uncle or Uncle Mafia as novelera said], you’re right. Do what needs to be done.

Suna comes out for breakfast. Ifakat asks, where’s your sister? In her room, Suna says, I’ll check. No need, Ifakat says, Halis aga won’t be coming down. She can come when she pleases. They head to the table. Asuman pulls Fuat aside, I don’t understand why she only complains about Seyran. Ferit isn’t here either. Fuat tells her not to get involved.

Seyran comes to the table. Gulgun asks if Ferit is coming. Seyro tells her to call him, so we can find out where he is. What do you mean, Gulgun asks, he isn’t here? Seyran asks with attitude, you don’t know where your son is? Gulgun answers, you don’t know? Seyro replies, from what Abidin said, he’s okay. Thankfully, they both get along well. But honestly, it’s unclear if Abidin Bey is working for you or for Ferit. Ifakat glares at Seyran.

Gulgun asks what’s wrong? What’s with the attitude? What attitude, Seyro asks, none of you know where Ferit is, but you all ask me what’s going on. Ifakat asks, are we supposed to know where your husband is? Orhan says he knows where Ferit is. He spoke to Abidin. He should have come back last night.

Seyran says, he didn’t come. Wherever he went, he stayed. Orhan Baba, I’m curious as Ferit’s wife, do you know where he stayed? Ifakat says enough. This isn’t the place. [yes, the staff is there.] Let’s have breakfast in peace. [Wow, the girl that doesn’t eat breakfast starts stuffing her face with food.]

Ferit and Pelo arrive at the yali grounds. She’s unsure about this but, he’s sure. She suggests a hotel. She doesn’t want him to get into trouble. Ferit says there’s no protection there. Let’s go.

#57 part 3

Gulgun almost does a spit take when she sees Ferit enter with Pelin in tow. Seyran stares. Everyone is in shock. I’d like to apologize to everyone, Ferit says, someone broke into Pelin’s place yesterday. She was terrified. The place was a mess. So, I stayed with her. Ifakat looks for Seyran’s reaction. Seyran is stunned.

Ferit continues, I brought her here for her own safety. Gulgun slams her napkin down, Ferit! Ifakat smiles and asks Pelo, I’m sorry to hear that, are you okay? She looks at Seyran again. Then Ifakat invites Pelo to sit at the table.

Seyran looks at Ifakat. She’s incredulous and she leaves the table. So does Suna. They walk past Ferit and Pelo without any acknowledgement. Ferit calls out to his wife. Suna tells him to leave her alone. Asuman breaks the silence and asks Pelo to sit. It’s very awkward. Ferit says he’ll go talk to Seyran. Pelo follows him.

Seyran is furious. She grabs her suitcase and immediately starts packing. Suna tells her to calm down and not make any hasty decisions. What am I supposed to do, Seyran asks, wait until they bring their baby home? I’m not saying you’re wrong, Suna says, but please listen for a minute. What if Ferit is telling the truth? He wouldn’t have brought her otherwise. Seyran keeps packing, she doesn’t care. Wasn’t there another place he could take her?

Suna reminds her, where did we go when I ran away? Why didn’t we go somewhere else? Can you listen to me? Look at me! If you leave this house now, it will be over. We’ll go back to Antep. Do you understand? Use your head. I’m not asking you to let it go, just to think about it. This is a good opportunity for you. Use it to your advantage. Stay strong for yourself. [I think Suna is also thinking about herself here.]

Ferit and Pelo enter. He sees she’s packing. He says she’s being rude. She can’t believe it. Pelo wants to leave. Ferit tells her not to go. He reminds Seyran, have you forgotten the way she welcomed us into her home? She didn’t complain once when your sister needed help. She took care of us for the night.

Seyran puts her jacket on. You think this is the same thing? You’re right, Ferit replies, this is much worse. That man trashed her place. Don’t you understand? The girl is in a difficult situation and needs our help. Not us, Seyran clarifies, you. What do you want from me? You’re already helping her. What do you expect me to do? Hold her in my arms and comfort her? Seyran leaves the room and Suna follows.

Pelo thinks Seyran is right. She wants to go. Ferit insists she stay. They didn’t have a problem staying at your place when they needed to, he notes. I didn’t think they’d be so ungrateful. You’ll leave once we fix this Serter problem.

Gulgun stops Seyran as she comes downstairs. How are you? I’m fine, Seyran answers, this family is incredible. I used to be mortified by the things that happened in my own family. I thought this didn’t happen in other families but… I’ve seen much worse here. Life has taught me it can always get worse. It keeps slapping me in the face. Gulgun takes Seyran’s hand. Don’t say that. You’re completely right but try to calm down. Don’t go anywhere.

Seyran says she’s calm. Look, she points, there’s the girl you invited to your house for coffee. Go upstairs, comfort her, see how she’s doing. I’ll stay out of it. I won’t bother anyone. Seyran leaves and Suna follows. Gulgun heads up the stairs.

Pelo is upset. Ferit says, you’re sitting at the edge of your seat. It’s as if you’ve never been here before. It’s different this time, she says, everyone knows I’m here. So what, he says, let them know. Gulgun enters. Ferit asks, what’s wrong? That’s what I’m wondering, Gulgun replies. Why are you here, Pelin? What did we talk about? Ferit says that doesn’t matter because he wasn’t there. Besides, I was clear. What don’t you understand?

golden
#57 part 4

Pelo apologizes and tells her she didn’t come voluntarily. Gulgun says, that’s enough, I’m not Ferit. You wouldn’t have come if you didn’t want to. Ferit starts to speak and mom tells him to shut up. How dare you disrespect your wife like this? My son is an idiot. She looks at Pelin—have you no honor? No pride? How could you take him up on this offer and come here? I thought you were smarter than this. Do you understand where you are? You’re in Seyran’s bedroom!

Gulgun asks Ferit, couldn’t you find another place to take her? Ferit shouts, Mom! Enough. She’s going through a lot and you’re making her cry. You ignore things when it suits you, but you come and demand an explanation when it doesn’t. And it’s not true, this isn’t the bride’s room. This is my room. Is that clear? So, get out of my room. Get out. Please go, mom. You don’t deserve that girl at all, Gulgun says, and I don’t know you at all. I’m ashamed of all the effort I put into you. And shame on you. She leaves. Ferit is hurt.

Seyran and Suna leave the yali. Suna can hardly keep up with her sister. At least tell me where we are going? Seyran says, we’re meeting with Efe Bey. I’m signing that contract. I’ll show it to Ferit and his family! They say black… I’ll say white. Suna asks, have you gone crazy? Yes, Seyro replies, being kind to them isn’t worth it. Suna worries… uff, dear Seyran…your dark side has arrived. I don’t care, Seyran says, it’s only natural at this point. I’m glad she came. Otherwise, I would have kept quiet again. Seyran flags a cab.

Gulgun stands outside the house and cries. Abi walks towards the house. She asks him what happened. He says that the sisters left and he wanted to tell Orhan Bey. What’s done is done, Gulgun says, what could Orhan do? Follow them? You should have stopped them when you could. Abi says he tried. She tells him, don’t go to Orhan, he’ll only take his anger out on you. Let’s talk. You can call him later. Let things cool down first.

Gulgun and Abi sit in the gazebo. She begins, Abidin… Ferit loves you very much. He even sees you as an older brother. Unfortunately, in this big house, we couldn't become close (meaning herself and Ferit), but you could. Abi starts to answer but Gulgun jumps in. I’m not asking you to keep tabs on his every move. If you lose his trust, we lose everything. Didn’t you give him any advice? Was there no way to stop this?

Abi says he told Ferit many times. But the girl really has a problem. The guy went crazy and trashed Pelin’s place. He had a man at her door. What else could Ferit do? She’d be in danger if she was left alone. Nobody wants that to happen, Gulgun says, but was this the solution? To bring her to the yali?

Abi replies, to be honest, I would’ve done the same thing. Right now, it seems the safest place for her. Gulgun is surprised. Abi explains, those men have eyes everywhere. If Pelin stayed with a friend or at a hotel they would find her immediately. They are capable of anything. We see these stories in the newspapers and on television every day.

Ferit walks nearby, sees them and heads over. [I’ll give you the unedited Turkish.] Abi gets up and Ferit tells him to sit. He smiles, what’s going on here young people? Are you gossiping about me? Gulgun turns her head away, stone faced. Ferit puts his arms around his mom and kisses her cheek. Mom? She doesn’t look at him. Ferit sits next to her. Did I break your heart, he asks. I’m sorry. But when I get angry like this, I lose my mind. You know me best. You know how upset I get.

golden
#57 part 4

Right now, Seyran is the one most upset, Gulgun says. I’m your mother, I will forgive and forget. How will you heal the wounds you inflicted on that girl? Do you think I’m happy with this, Ferit replies, listen, if I wanted to bring Pelin to this house, I would have done it years ago. Gulgun quips, so she’s only become valuable to you now? I understand you’re worried, but you can’t upset and hurt Seyran.

Ferit says, look, mom… sometimes I feel like I’m to blame for everything. Maybe that’s the reason for my anger—smashing and breaking everything in sight. I don’t know. But you came to me while I was with Pelin. You said, “Ferit, my son, you have to get married. You have no other option.” She (Pelin) was okay with that.

What are you saying, Gulgun asks, that she loves you? Son, that’s not love. Someone who truly loved you wouldn’t accept that. It’s an obsession. Not love. She’s not well. Ferit says, I know. It’s because of me. You need to understand that. She started seeing that lunatic because I broke up with her. What if he’d done something to her? How would I forgive myself?

Gulgun sighs. Ferit continues, look mom, this isn’t the typical actions of spoiled Ferit. I wouldn’t have brought her here if it wasn’t serious. I swear. Gulgun gives in to a slight smile. Ferit kisses her cheek. Ferit smiles, turns his cheek to his mom and says in English—kiss me mommy! She does and hugs him tight. He says, I love you very much. I love you, too, my son, she replies, be careful.

Ferit leaves. Gulgun exhales. Abi tells her that Ferit was really very worried. That’s why he brought her. Okay, Gulgun replies, you can go and tell Orhan that Seyran and Suna have left. He must have calmed down now.

Abi sends the text to Orhan. Ifakat notices the look on his face. What happened? He tells her and as usual she complains. How could they leave without telling me? Fuat hopes they didn’t go back to their father. This time there’s no going back. I really feel sorry for Seyran now, Asuman says, look how she was when she first came to this house and look how she is now.

Orhan sighs, maybe this marriage was a big mistake. Such mistakes can be corrected, Ifakat answers. Asuman asks what she means. If this continues, maybe it’s best for them to separate, Ifakat replies, they don’t even have children. No point in continuing this torture. Asuman asks, are you saying they should separate because they don’t have children? No, Ifakat says, they fight like cats and dogs and there’s nothing that bonds them together. You said you feel sorry for Seyran, wouldn’t you be happy to see them split?

That’s enough, Orhan says, it’s their choice. Asuman asks him, do you think they should separate, too? I think Ifakat is right, he replies, if this goes on, they should divorce. Asuman excuses herself to go to her room. She wipes a tear. Fuat goes with her.

How nice, Ifakat says, she can’t be bothered to worry about her own marriage, but she feels so bad for Seyran. Oh, please, Ifakat, Orhan says, what are we going to tell my father? Have you thought about that? We’ll tell him what happened, she replies, what’s wrong with that?

Orhan asks, you really believe that girl is only a friend of Ferit’s? She’s the girl from the newspaper. Ferit’s ex. Ifakat is surprised. Orhan says that Halis can’t find out about this.

Ifakat wonders if Ferit has lost his mind. Orhan says he believes Ferit. He wouldn’t have brought the girl if it wasn’t serious. That kid always manages to do something to hang our heads in shame, she gripes.

#57 part 5

Seyran and Suna arrive at Defne’s office. Efe is there waiting. He says, I’m glad you’re here, Seyran. You made a good decision. There were things I wanted to show you. It’s good that you came today. Efe plays a video for Seyran. A group of young girls shout a greeting—thank you for everything, Seyran Abla! We love you so much!

Seyran has tears in her eyes. Who are they, she asks. Efe explains, our company has been giving scholarships to these girls. Their teacher called me and was very excited about the project. They wanted to thank you. And thanks to you, a lot of them are getting a second chance in life. You’ll see. This project will make a big splash. Seyran wipes her eyes. I was very upset before coming here, but this video was like medicine. I want to sign as soon as possible.

Great, Efe says, let’s get started quickly. They look at sketches of the dresses and fabrics. Efe’s got his eyes on Suna, too. Seyran does some sketching. Efe shows her the contract. Read it carefully, he says, make sure it’s good. Seyran signs. [I’d be more cautious about signing.]

Seyran and Suna take a coffee break. This feels like a beautiful dream, Suna says. Seyran doesn’t look so excited. Are you kidding, abla? Don’t you remember the nightmare we woke up to this morning? Those are two different things, Suna replies, are you saying we shouldn’t celebrate the good things, just because bad things happen? Did you see Efe Bey’s excitement after hearing our ideas? We’ve always been so angry at Dad. I still am, but… now I can see he was preparing us for the future.

There were other ways to do it, Seyran opines. If we’d grown up with love and not fear, we wouldn’t be fooled by kind words and look like stupid fools. Suna says, I don’t think you’re stupid. You might not see it, but I can see it from the outside. Seyran asks, what is that? Ferit loves you. He loves everyone, Seyran says, not just me. He has a very big heart, mashallah, she sighs. In fact, I think… he’s in love with Pelin. He loves her in a different way. Look, he didn’t even follow me. He stayed behind with her.

What was he supposed to do, Suna asks, if what he said was true, and something bad really happened to her? Don’t make me crazy, Seyran asks, are you defending him? Are you saying he did the right thing? It’s okay if she’s in our room? Doesn’t she have other friends? She only has Ferit? She could have stayed with her cousin. Or in a hotel.

Suna says, if he took her to a hotel, it would be in the press. Are you saying you don’t believe him? Listen to me, Ferit is obviously scared of that guy. Otherwise, he would have done something else. Why bring her home and get himself in trouble? You’ll see. Ferit will have fixed this by the time we’re back and Pelin will be gone.

You don’t know Ferit, but I do, Seyran says. They might even… be in our bed right now. Don’t be ridiculous, Suna replies, that wouldn’t happen. I wish I was being ridiculous, Seyran answers. She wipes her eyes. Anyway… let’s finish our coffee and go. Don’t come with me today. Everything’s a mess. No way, Suna says, I’d be worried. Seyran tells her she’ll call her later. If you come with me, that witch Ifakat won’t leave you alone. She’ll upset me even more. Don’t come, I’ll be fine. Suna agrees.

Pelo is crying out on the balcony. Ferit joins her and tells her please don’t cry anymore. Your mother was right, she says, she was harsh, but right. What she said upset me. Don’t be upset, Ferit replies, she’s the one who should be. That’s how she is. I’m not worried about her, why are you? Look at me, he smiles, look, I’m not stressed out.

I’m not comfortable, Pelo says, can’t you find another place? Fine, Ferit says, we’ll find another place but you’re not going back to that apartment. We’ll find a place and I’ll be the only one who knows about it. Come.

golden
#57 part 6

Seyran returns home. Gulgun and Asuman are there to greet her and ask if she’s okay. That depends on who’s here, Seyran replies. Gulgun says, you know I’m not okay with this, right? Then she’s still here, Seyran figures. I talked to Ferit, Gulgun says, he was very convincing when he said Pelin was in danger. He knows he made a mistake. Think of it like this. If he were hiding something, he wouldn’t have brought her home.

Asuman says she agrees. Ferit wouldn’t go that far. He thought he could handle the situation, then saw how serious it was and brought her here. Seyran asks, do you think this makes it easier for me? Do you think it’s normal for Ferit to spend the night at her place and then bring her here? And she’s in our room? I’m asking, is that normal?

Of course not, Gulgun replies, but this is Ferit. He’ll do anything if he’s convinced it’s the right thing. You’re completely right and your reaction is valid. But I know my son. He didn’t do this to upset you. Ferit loves you. You know that, don’t you? I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but that’s not love, Seyran says. It shouldn’t be like this.

Asuman says, there isn’t just one way to love someone. Everyone loves in their own way, according to their own understanding. This isn’t easy, and I wouldn’t know what to do in your place. You’re right about that. But I agree with Gulgun Anne. Ferit truly loves you. He just doesn’t know what to do with all that love. Okay, Seyran replies, your dear Ferit can keep loving me in his own way. If you excuse me…

Seyran slowly heads upstairs. She looks very tired and sad. Halis comes out of his room and sees her. Seyran kızım? She answers, merhaba, Efendim. He calls her over. Isn’t Ferit with you? She walks over and says, I had a meeting with a brand that does charity work. I went with my sister.

Ah, yes, Halis replies, Orhan mentioned this and I gave permission. I heard your husband and father agreed to it as well. Yes, they did, Seyran answers. Halis asks, and if your husband agreed, why didn’t he go with you? Seyran looks down and sighs.

And we are out.

oops I realized mislabeled a post. I posted two as "part 4". Should be 4 and 5. I have 7 posts in total. I hope it doesn't cause too much confusion.

Lobo

The Spanish Dictionary app word of the day today is "Renacuajo" or tadpole. They are paying attention to Telemundo's show. Lobo calls young Renata "Renacuajo" as an affectionate nickname.

That’s fun, Anastasia! It does likely indicate they are watching what we watch! Or a major coincidence! I like the former!

Babachita & Anastasia: I will burst out laughing if they bring this back for a 2nd Season.

OT

Steve, I will also be watching Game 5. I'm for the Spurs all the way. Not a fan of "the flopper". My team is the Warriors, and articles have been written about how relatively few foul shots Steph Curry gets. It seems to be a combination of his not trying to get them and, for some reason, the refs not giving him enough. The local announcers clearly point out all the times he's fouled with no calls. SGA is the polar opposite.

Anastasia , I had to see if we had the same app when you made this comment. Yup, I got that word of the day also.

Steve, we will be watching the Spurs, too. Fans since David Robinson!

Thanks so much, dondi. I really love your writing style. It's like watching the episode all over again. I saw it late today. I was out and about most of the day.

Got a kick out of "I'll say. An attack of stupidity".

I just really love Abidin. Orhan gets more despicable every episode, and I wanted to put my fist through the television when he ragged on Abi. In my view, the true test of a decent person is the way they treat subordinates or people they have power over. Abidin had no recourse but to take the verbal abuse. It's not his fault Ferit is a rebellious child.

Wow! The Turkish male continues to astonish me. Serter showed up with a bouquet of flowers and still thought he had a chance with Pelin? Pelin is a spineless mess. She should never have let him in. She should have told him she was calling the police right now. And why did she answer his questions about her relationship with Ferit. After trashing her place, he doesn't deserve to know how she feels one way or another.

Ferit says that Pelin was in danger because of him. And part of him enjoys that she can't get over him.

That was one nasty insinuation from Ifakat about it being fine for Serfer to separate because they don't have children. And said right in front of Asuman

Ifakat is all in on a separation or divorce. She can't wait to get independent minded Seyran out of there.

We saw Seyran's artistic abilities with the jewelry design, and now we saw it in the change she made to one of the clothing designs she was shown. Both Efe and Defne liked them.

Episode 58 #1 of 7
“Straight to the Heart”

At the yali, Seyran slowly makes her way up the stairs and encounters Halis, who greets her with “Seyran, dear?” She greets him respectfully, but she has a sad countenance. Halis asks where she is coming from. She walks over and stands in front of him.
Seyran: I had a meeting with a brand who does charity. I went with my sister.
Halis already knows about this, saying Orhan had mentioned it and Halis had given permission. He had also heard that Kazim and Ferit had agreed to it. Seyran verifies this.
Halis: If Ferit agreed to it, why didn’t he go with you?
Seyran can’t find words to answer this. Halis tells her to come with him so they can talk about it. [I always love looking at Halis’s quarters!]
Halis: Now, tell me, where’s Ferit?
Seyran: He must be in our room.
Halis: What does that mean, “must be?” You don’t know where your husband is?
Seyran doesn’t answer, but tears are falling.
Halis: I see. I was shocked when I heard Ferit had agreed to this. Looks like he’s not on board after all.
Seyran: No, Mr Halis. He didn’t want this at first, but we reached an agreement.
Halis tells her he will take her word for it. He tells her he can see that they are angry at one another. He tells her that couples fight sometimes. He might not like what she does, and she might not want what he does.
Halis: There’s a key word to end the cycle of anger for good. That word is patience. Things will be easier if you’re patient with each other. But, in some cases, especially when it comes to older folks like myself, it’s a lot more difficult to be patient. I want to meet my great-grandchild already, dear. You’ve got nothing to be embarrassed about. You’re my family. Children are at the core of every good marriage. I want to go on walks and play with my great-grandchild. If you have a life to take care of, a kid to worry about, some of your problems could fade away for good. You’ll have different problems. Do you understand?
Seyran wipes away her tears: I hope so. I wish you continued good health.
Halis: I hope so. You may have noticed I’ve been distant since that last incident. I’m spending time alone. I’ve heard there’s been some problems, but I don’t get as angry as I used to. I just want to be at peace. I want silence, peace. (He changes his approach here and gives her a command.) Get your husband on board, or you’ll never do it.
Seyran nods.
Halis: You can go.
Seyran leaves, but where can she go?
Up in the attic suite, Pelin and Ferit are shopping online. Apparently, they are looking for apartments. Ferit tells her he’s looking at a furnished one. All she needs to do is take her suitcase. He asks what she thinks.
Pelin: Don’t get mad, Ferit, but is moving really necessary? I doubt Serter will come back.
Ferit: He’ll be back, Pelin. I know he’ll come back for you. He’ll use your bathroom, sit on your couch; he’ll be there, waiting for you. That’s enough of a reason to never go back there.
Pelin: Why won’t you believe me, Ferit? He and I didn’t go out for very long. Nothing happened between us.
Ferit: You wouldn’t be here if I didn’t believe you Pelin. Enough already. We’re looking for a new place.

Episode 58 #2 of 7
Seyran enters, slamming the door for emphasis.
Ferit: Seyran! Looks like you finally found your way back.
She walks over and stands in front of Ferit and Pelin sitting on the couch.
Seyran: I was talking to your grandfather.
Ferit, sitting up straight: What? What did he want to talk about?
Seyran: Why, are you scared?
Ferit invites her out to the balcony. She declines and says they can talk there; they shouldn’t leave “her” alone: Poor thing, something could happen if we leave her alone.
Pelin stands and says she will go on the balcony and let them talk. She heads outside.
Seyran frowns and walks away from Ferit.
Ferit: Why do you treat her like that? She’s going through a lot.
Seyran: I already told you I don’t care. Why can’t you understand?
Ferit: I do, Seyran. You don’t care, alright. What did you and Grandfather talk about?
Seyran: I told him I met up with Mr. Efe. I also told him you brought your girlfriend to our room. He’s holding up to his end of the deal. Your great-grandchild is being conceived in our room.
Ferit: Seyran! (He picks up his laptop.) Look, we’re looking for a new place for her. She’s moving out of fear. Why can’t you be more understanding?
Seyran: Sure. I’m sure it’s very serious. What I’m not sure is whether Pelin is lying to you or you are lying to me. I’m not sure. Maybe you’re both lying. I don’t know. Oh well. I still don’t buy it. I don’t buy any of that crap, just so you know.
Ferit watches Seyran walk to the bathroom. She is crying and sits on the floor. She gets a call and answers. It’s Suna, who wants to know what’s wrong. Seyran tells her she feels terrible. Pelin is still there. She tells Suna that they are acting like nothing is wrong. Suna thinks she is joking at first. Seyran tells her she swears that Pelin is still there. Suna says that’s incredible. She points out that he could have taken her to Suna’s room. Suna asks what Seyran is doing now. Seyran says she is doing nothing. What is she supposed to do? She says that Ferit is going to make her lose her mind. She thinks she will be the one who gets hurt in the end.
Suna: You’re OK, right? We’ll find a way out of this. We’ll fix it. This will pass. Try to stay calm. Calm down, we’ll fix this, trust me.
Seyran: OK. I’m going to hang up. I can’t keep talking. (She hangs up.)

At the Sanli home, Kazim is pacing while Hattice sits on the sofa organizing her handbag. Esme is tending to Hattice and Suna walks in. She goes to Hattice.
Suna: I need to tell you something about Seyran. Can you talk about it with Dad for me?
Esme asks if Seyran is in trouble.
Suna says she thinks there is something Kazim should know.
Hattice: Suna, Look, I can’t take it any longer. My mind feels like the inside of this bag. I try to sort things out, but can’t. Please don’t do this. Don’t turn me against Kazim. If it’s so important, look, he’s out on the balcony. Whatever your problem is, talk to him about it.
Suna protests. But, Hattice doesn’t want to discuss it anymore: If it’s so important, your father will understand. If it isn’t, then you’ll have learned your lesson, and won’t say something just for the sake of it.
Suna, resigned to talking to Kazim, walks outside, her hands hidden in her sweater sleeves. She is hyperventilating.
Suna: Father, can we talk?
Kazim, playing with his prayer beads: We’re talking now. Come on, spit it out. Hurry up.
Suna: I have a situation I need help with.
Kazim can see that she is very anxious and tells her to come in. He tells her to sit down. He tells her to lie back and relax. He sits in front of her, adjusting his collar and he appears concerned.
Kazim: What is the problem? Listen, if someone did anything to hurt you, you have to tell me about it. I’ve got your back. I want you to know that. But if you’re the one who hurt somebody, you need to tell me before somebody else does.

Episode 58 #3 of 7
Suna, deep breath: It’s about Seyran. Ferit isn’t very good to her. I’ve seen it.
Kazim: What are you saying? Seyran sent you to tell me instead of coming herself?
Suna: No, Father, she has no idea I’m doing this.
He tells her to continue after looking to be sure no one is listening.
Suna: Ferit mistreats Seyran because of her work. He’s trying to change her mind, and now…
Kazim makes all sorts of faces and finally asks her: Does he hit her? [This is rich coming from Kazim, the master abuser!]
Suna: No, not that, Father. He’s constantly insulting her, belittles her. And he also brought home a female friend of his, who’s allegedly in trouble. Seyran couldn’t tell you.
Kazim: What are you saying? Who is this friend? What friend. Dammit Ferit. He doesn’t listen to reason. I’m going to kill him.
Suna: No, Father. It’s just a friend.
Kazim: Friend? Can a boy and a girl ever just be friends? That’s never happened before.
Kazim paces around, fists clenched.
Kasim: Daughter. You’re playing with fire now. Are you sure you want that? I’ll confront that bas**rd myself, but are you sure you can handle this? (Points his index finger for emphasis.)
Suna doesn’t answer right away. She finally nods: I can, Father. I meant what I said.
Kazim smashes his hand down on the table.
Suna: Papa, I’ve always been afraid of you. Children are always afraid of their parents. They say it’s the way it’s supposed to be. That’s what we learned. I can’t even blink when I hear you walk in. But anytime I feel sad, anytime I see something wrong, I think about how good it is to have you. You’ve always found a way to protect us. No matter what.
Kazim is very affected by her words and makes many facial gestures.
Suna continues: Seyran was crying in her room. Please don’t let her cry anymore.
Kazim stands: Shhhh! Alright, you can go. I’ll take care of this. Suna, go and tell your mother to prepare coffee, black.
Kazim reaches out to Suna: Well done.
He strokes her head, pulls her to him, and kisses her forehead. He holds her and tells her “Well done” again.
Kazim: You can go now.
Later, he is still thinking, and Esme brings him his coffee.
Kazim: What do you want?
Esme: Nothing, Kazim, I brought you your coffee. Enjoy.
Kazim: Esme, thank you. Thank you for bringing it. I appreciate it.
Esme nods and leaves.
Kazim picks up his phone.

In the attic, Ferit and Pelin are sitting on the couch, and Seyran enters from the bathroom where she had been pondering all this. She walks past them. Ferit’s phone rings. It’s Kazim who tells him if Seyran is there, he should step outside: She can’t find out. I need to tell you something.
Ferit: Give me a moment.
He walks on the balcony: Yes, Mr. Kazim.
Kazim: Are you home?
Ferit: Yes.
Kazim, good. I want you to forget about everything, and meet me at the address I’ll send you.
Ferit: Why? What happened?
Kazim: We need to have a talk, son. A talk, man to man. You and me. We’ll have a long man-to-man conversation, you hear me?
Ferit: Yes, I got it. I’ll be there.

Episode 58 #4 of 7
He walks back inside and says he is leaving. Pelin wants to know where he’s going. He puts on a jacket and tells Seyran that he’ll be back later.
Pelin goes to Seyran: What if that was Serter? What if he’s meeting him?
Seyran: I hope so. I hope he is. Maybe a couple of punches will knock some sense into him.
Pelin takes her phone and goes on the balcony. Ferit answers and tells her to wait for him. He will be back. She wants to know if he spoke with Serter.
Ferit: Why would I talk to him?
Pelin: Promise me you’re not meeting up with him.
Ferit: I swear. What is this nonsense, Pelin? I’ll be back in an hour.
Pelin is concerned.
Ferit gets into a cab.
He is followed by a black car, probably a Serter henchie tailing him.

The family is at the dinner table. In walks Latif who announces that Mr. Halis is coming down for dinner after all.
Ifakat aska where Ferit and Seyran are.
Gulgun calls.
(At an outdoor restaurant, Kazim is sitting at a table, waiting. It’s obviously cool because everyone is wearing coats. Kazim asks for another coffee.)
Gulgun announces that neither answers their phone. Seyran walks in and wishes everyone good evening in a not very friendly voice.
Gulgun: And Ferit, where is he?
Seyran: I don’t know. He just left.
Ifakat: If Mr. Halis finds out about this, …
Just then Halis enters: Finds out about what? What is it, Ifakat? Where is Ferit? Seyran?
Seyran: I don’t know where he is. He left in a hurry and didn’t tell me where he was going.
Halis: have you forgotten we’re family? And family sticks together…during rough times?
The family looks at one another.
Halis continues: I was absent for two days. How did you let things get out of control, Ifakat? We’re a small family, yet no one knows where he is?
(Halis walks around and sits in his place at the head of the table): Sit down. Everyone will answer to me for this, after dinner. All those I once praised, and patiently mentored, should be walking on eggshells right now. I’m an old man, and I can’t accept anybody’s ignorance. I stand my ground, even with the wisest of you. (He hits the table hard enough for the dishes to jump.) And more importantly, those who can’t take care of us, those who don’t know what ‘family” means. Those people don’t belong here. (More table banging to emphasize each word.) Don’t forget that.
Seyran looked like she might say something, but we are back to the restaurant.

Kazim is holding his prayer beats tightly in his fist, ready to address Ferit.
Kazim: We thought you were a real man. We really did. You studied abroad, you come from a good family. “He’ll take care of her.” That’s what I thought, Ferit. I gave you my daughter. What the hell are you doing? You’re messing with my daughter? You’re insulting her just because she got a job?
Ferit: Are you done?
Kazim: I’m not. And now, you bring a friend home? A woman friend. Do you not have any shame? Dammit. How could you bring another girl to your house? And who is she in the first place? Who is that friend, Ferit? Why is she at my daughter’s house?
Ferit: Whoever told you that, didn’t tell you the whole story. She was in a difficult situation. That’s why I brought her home. I know you would’ve done the same thing in my place. Wouldn’t you help somebody who needed it?

Kazim: Help? You’re saying you’re helping her? Do you not care about my daughter’s pride, dammit? I wouldn’t have known if her sister hadn’t said something. She’s crying by herself in a corner. You hurt her, dammit.
Ferit looked abashed.
Kazim: Listen, son. We’ve overcome a lot together to this day. I swear I’ve never seen my daughter crying by herself in a corner. [Really????] There’s no way. Whatever you did, son, you’ve hurt her far more than I ever did. Seyran is strong. She’s like her father.
Ferit: What are you going to do, then? Are you going to take Seyran with you once again?
Kazim sits up and makes an annoyed gesture: What else can I do? You tell me. Huh, Ferit? Tell me what I should do. I already did that. You showed up like you owned the place and carried her out. And that idiot followed you like a lost puppy. What do I do? Look, if we’re going there once again, there’ll be no going back this time. I need you to know this.
Ferit: Father Kazim, do you think I would have exposed my family if it wasn’t so serious? With everything going on? Why would I take her to my house, to my family, if there are other places, hotels? Why would I bring her to my wife’s bedroom? Don’t you see? Can you please try to understand?
Kazim, twirling his beads emphatically: Dammit, Ferit. “Sir,” when it works for you…now, “Dad.” Stop crying dammit. What’s Seyran’s place in your life? I want you to think about that first, and then, answer.
A tear is making its way down Ferit’s face: You’re family. Seyran, she’s my family too. She’s my wife. If somebody laid a finger on you, Suna, Ms. Esme, Aunt Hattice or Seyran, I swear on my life, I’ll kill them. I promise.
Kazim slaps Ferit’s hand: You’re just saying that. Why don’t you say this to Seyran? Trust her. Tell her this and she’ll stop crying.
Ferit, laughs: You say that like she’s listening to me, Kazim. You know Seyran better than I do. The moment I ask a question, she shows her claws.
Kazim: Come on. My daughter’s claws are harmless, compared to how much your words can hurt her. You have to find a way to convince her with that big mouth you have.
Ferit laughs in frustration at this.
Kazim: Listen, son. My daughters are all I have. I’ve got nothing more. What should I do when I find out you’re making my daughter cry? You tell me, what am I supposed to do? Stop making her cry.
Ferit: Seyran isn’t the only one crying, I can assure you.
Kazim, wiping his face: Well done. Good for her. You’re going to cry, dammit. Crying makes you a real man. At least my daughter will help you come to your senses. You should have been my son. My son. You’re a brave young man. You are, son. You have a good heart. I know you do. It was just poorly made, you bas**rd.
Ferit chuckles, then laughs outright.
Kazim smiles. Alright. Let’s end this, once and for all. Kiss my hand and we’ll be OK. He holds out his hand, but nothing happens at first. Ferrit is smiling and gets up and goes over to give the kiss of respect, which he does enthusiastically. Kazim then says: Come here, my boy! He grabs him into a big abrazo. Well done. You better go home and make up with your wife.
Kazim suddenly notices something: What the hell’s going on? Everyone rushed out.
We see Mafia Uncle and a bunch of henchies.
Ferit tells Kazim to get behind him: They’re here for me.

The henchies look ready to attack. Ferit tells Kazim to calm down. He whispers to him: These men are dangerous. You need to leave. Please go home.
Kazim: Don’t even think about it. (to uncle) This is your last chance to leave. My son and I are leaving here and none of you will lay a finger on him.
The henchies have raised eyebrows and uncle is laughing.
Ferit: Kazim, please don’t make this worse. Please leave. You have to go.
Uncle: Look Grandpa, we know you’re old, so we’ll let this slide. This is our second meeting. You better leave or we’ll hurt you too.
Ferit: Don’t move, Kazim.
Kazim: How dare you talk to me like that? Ferit, that idiot called me grandpa! He has no shame! I’ve already met him. He tried to threaten me and Abidin.
Kazim rushes at uncle, and everything turns into a big fight. Uncle’s nose is bleeding. A henchie has his gun out, pointing it at Ferit. Kazim head butst someone and the henchie points his gun at Kazim. Ferit calls out: Mr. Kazim!, and gets in front of Kazim. Henchie shoots at Kazim/Ferit. Uncle tells his henchie: You shot him? You’re an idiot!
Kazim: Allah!
Both Kazim and Ferit fall on the ground.
Mafia Uncle tells his crew they need to leave quickly.

At the yali, the family is finishing their meal.
Halis: Those I have praised, those I have trusted most in this family, all turned out to be liars. My own son can’t even look me in the eye. He has no shame left. Ferit’s mother doesn’t know where he is, neither does his wife. I don’t understand what’s going on here! (Fuat and Asuman hold hands.). Is this your way of rebelling? The more freedom I give you, you get worse. Seyran! You were our family’s bride. We did everything and forgave you countless times so you and your husband would make up. And this is how you thank us?
Seyran: I’m sorry. I’m sorry if I disrespected you in any way, but…
Halis: But what? What? Where’s Ferit? If your husband can’t even join you for dinner, does he even want to be with you?
Sultan makes a snarky smile at this comment.
Halis: How could you go to that work meeting without him?
Seyran: What was I supposed to do? Should I have locked myself in my room and spend time with Ferit’s girlfriend?
Ifakat: Seyran!
The cat’s out of the bag now! Everyone looks around. Fuat holds his head.
Seyran: I didn’t want to upset you, so I didn’t mention it earlier. I thought I was taking care of you. You have every right to question me, but you should also question those who kept this from you.
Halis: What happened? I’m waiting for an explanation. Start talking now.

Ferit wrestles a bit with the passed out Kazim and ends up finding a gun that Kazim must have had.

Ferit dials his father.

Halis: What did you say? Hospital?
Orhan: OK, I’m on my way there.
Everyone wants to know what’s going on with Ferit.
Orhan tells them Ferit is fine: They’re hurt, so they’re on their way to the hospital.
Seyran: What?
Orhan: The ambulance is there already.
Ifakat: Orhan, who is Ferit with?
Orhan: Kazim is with him. They are both hurt.
Seyran, very surprised: Who did this? What happened?
Fuat: Were they in an accident?
Orhan: If he wasn’t serious, his voice would have given it away. They must be arriving at the hospital.
Halis: Orhan, what happened to them?
Orhan: They were shot.

Lobo
Ep #62
Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Just highlights. This week I began having some serious pain issues. I see the doc tomorrow.

Slight rewind: Hugo had killed Cocula in self-defense when Cocula pulled a knife on him. Cocula had been taunting Hugo. Cocula didn't want to go back to prison, so it was suicide by cop. Hugo had a convo with Adela and Fernando. Adela doesn't want Hugo to tell the (other) authorities the whole truth about the events with Cocula.

Antonia, on the other hand, confronts Eugenio about not telling the whole truth years ago when Guillermina reported that Cruz had killed his wife Carmen. Eugenio changed the cause to a random gunshot and closed the file. Antonia will not forgive Eugenio for giving into his fears for Anta's safety. Antonia leaves the home and moves in with Lobo, Fer and Santi.

Nacho comes to Eugenio's house to apologize to Sue. They make up.

Misael and Cesar decide to move away from La Ciudad together. When brother Oscar storms in, Misael stands up to Oscar.

Oscar tells Azufrero that Misael wants to move away with Cesar Cruz. Azufrero says Cesar and Misael are damaging the reputation of the family name. He tasks Oscar with the assassination of Cesar. Azu says that if Oscar kills Cesar, it will demonstrate that Oscar has the cajones to do difficult things and be the future leader of Azu's gang. Do the murder that day. Tuqueque will help him.

Fer calls Miranda and "invites" her to come into the Fiscalia for an interrogation. Alejandro decides to go with her (but he is not in the interrogation room). Antonia begins to question Miranda.

Lobo goes to see Renata at the de la Colina house while Miranda and Alejandro are at the Fiscalia.

Cesar talks to his mother Leonor about his moving away with Misael. She is supportive, and they have a tender goodbye. (Alarm bells immediately rang in my head. Oh no! The loving resolution with his mother and tender goodbye means that Cesar will be killed off.) Cesar later has a tender goodbye scene with a supportive Nacho.

Cruz conspires with Fabio and his lawyer on how to escape when Cruz will be transferred from the jail to prison. The lawyer and Fabio come in with a team of fake guards ahead of the scheduled transfer time and they say the transfer time has been moved up. Fernando is skeptival but is ultimately duped by the fake credentials (or real credentials on bribed guards). Cruz is released by Fabio once the prison van has driven away from the jail. Cruz shoots the guards in the arm or leg to make the escape look good. End episode.

Thank you for the perfect summary, Anastasia. I hope your pain issues are resolved soon.

I’ve been watching this off and on because DH watches it. Here are some comments in no particular order.

I had the same reaction to the Leonor-Cesar scene. I like that young couple and hope they will survive. It did show that Lady MacBeth has a softer side when it comes to her kids. She’s guilty of a lot. Will she get an anvil or perhaps she will be the anvil.

I’m really getting tired of the back and forth stuff. I think Uncle Raul (Alejandro) should be wise to Miranda by now. What’s up with him?

Antonia annoyed me during earlier episodes. She has come into her own now. I see why she’s considered a skilled actress. I enjoy watching her take command. She’s nobody’s fool.

I’d like more Lobo-Renata scenes.

Is it my imagination or is Hugo coming apart as we watch. He looks very impactado by everything, like he’s losing control.

After Lobo and Renata, I really enjoy Fer! He seems to be able to do or figure out anything!

Do we know where Tuqueque got his name? Is it a humorous reference to his job? He was creepy at first. He is still kind of creepy, but he had developed some skills now.

I really dislike Fabio. Don’t know who is worse, Azufrero or Cruzito. Az sometimes makes me laugh, but both are awful.

I’m sad that Oscar is going to the bad side. He is a loose cannon.

It does indeed look like we won’t get a road trip to the border, as many predicted!

Thank you all for the great summaries and wishing you well, Anastasia.

Thanks for your comments on #57, novelera. I loved the gazebo conversations. Gulgun hinted that living under imposed yali rule didn’t allow her be a better mother. Ferit wanted Abi to stay for his convo with Gulgun. They really have a brotherly love for each other. Ferit not only feels responsible for Pelin’s situation but for “everything” bad that happens, whether it is his fault or not. He always gets blamed anyway.

ITA about Abidin. I love him too. I keep thinking that he could beat the crap out of Orhan so easily and wishing he would do it.

Thanks, Babachita. Another great recap.

The keyword that Halis said to Seyran was “tahammül”. Better translated as tolerance or endurance. It’s the concept of carrying a heavy burden.

Small edit: After Seyran went to cry in the bathroom, Ferit went to get Pelo. She gave him more push back about moving, etc. Ferit became frustrated. He told Pelo, you’re right, she’s (Seyran) right. I just want this whole thing to end. Let’s find an apartment now.

Kazim is the only one allowed to abuse his daughters. He basically said so to Hattuc. And what about the abuse he heaps onto Esme? Hard pressed to find a redeeming quality in him. Although, weirdly, he provides some comic relief.

Did Kazim have a brief moment of self-awareness and feel guilty? He was actually nice to Esme when she brought the coffee. She said, afiyet olsun, enjoy [the coffee]. Surprisingly Kazim replied, “Esme Hatun, may your hands never suffer any harm. Thank you.” And he addressed her as hatun!

Ferit didn’t quite tell Kazim he would kill anyone who harmed Seyran or her family. He said “I swear, I'd burn the world down.”

Dayi told his men to take Ferit. Kazim said, what are you taking? Are you buying underwear at the market? Kazim threatened to bury them all, one by one, if they touched Ferit.

Dayi called Kazim “amca” (uncle, father’s brother, not grandpa, but it signifies an older man.) and told him, we are keeping quiet out of respect for your age.

I don’t know why they cut this, but they showed Ferit was hit, too. He put his hand to his side and there was blood.

Thanks for the Turkish info and corrections. I’m not surprised Ferit was hit, but now we know!

Was this a bonding experience for Ferit and Kazim?

I thought Kazim had momentarily found some nice manners when he thanked Esme. Suna’s comment must have had a positive affect. I am of two minds about Kazim. He is awful to his family. But maybe he can learn? He has a very good sense of bargaining. He jumped into the fray seemingly without fear. He figures things out very fast. He often makes me laugh. It’s fun to watch him angle for more gifts from the Korhans. I’d love to have seen him, Halis, snd Hattice when young.

Abidin is the best!!!

Thanks again!

Thanks, Anastasia. I'm sorry you're in pain. If your appointment is today, since you posted about it last evening, I hope for a fixable diagnosis.

I'm not so happy about Antonia's rejection of her father. It's exactly like the way she was with Lobo early on. Sooo attracted to him. And resisting it for what seemed like weeks because he wouldn't bring in Renata. She's doing the same thing now, being self-righteous about her father not being noble enough to stand by his principles. She said something about going to some higher echelon of law enforcement instead of changing Guillermina's statement. Come on. The woman lives in Mexico. Anyone with functioning neurons knows how much corruption there can be at all levels. The cartels pull the puppet strings. What parent would take the slightest risk of awful people killing their only child?

Regarding César, sometimes they put in red herrings. Many here thought Eugenio was doomed earlier on. I'm also wondering if they'd "go there". if they'd let a homophobe kill off a gay character. We'll see.

Thanks, Babachita. Very good descriptions and asides.

Ferit switches up his personality so many times, often twice or three times in one episode. "You wouldn't be here if I didn't believe you." Gah! So it would be all right for Serter to bully Pelin if she'd slept with him?

Ha! Ferit is plenty nervous hearing that Seyran had a conversation with Halis.

Kazim's mood changes can be startling. He began annoyed with Suna and then proud of her for speaking up. It seemed like he was going to "tear Ferit a new one", but he ends up embracing him as his son.

Kazim is small and skinny, but he's fearless. Just like in the earlier scene where he and Abi were blocked in on the road, he takes no crap from obviously sinister guys. Pretty sure they aren't killing him off this early.

I really enjoy Ifakat's terror when Halis goes into one of his patriarchal rages.

Miércoles – Parte 1 de 2 We see a repeat of Cruz wounding the crooked cops that Fabio arranged to help with his escape. He speaks on the phone with his skeevy lawyer and asks that someone be sent to care for the guys he shot.

Oscar and Tuqueque arrive at the apartment the young ‘uns have been using. Oscar seems to brace himself and goes in alone.

As we knew from before, César and Misael had planned to leave D.F. together. Nacho is smiling and having a beer with them. He says he feels the same way about Sué as they do about each other.

Antonia is questioning Miranda. She asks about the money laundering. Miranda says that Gustavo was un tequilero. Miranda is cool and confident. She says that Cruz was a friend. Antonia says that El Azufrero and Cruz arranged for the hit on Gustavo. She also says that she has proof that Miranda met with Cruz more than once. Miranda says it was to ask him not to harm her daughter. Antonia has a record of a call Miranda made to El Azufrero the day that Gustavo was assassinated. This time Miranda looks worried.

Did you plan with Azufrero and Cruz for the attempt on the life of your husband so as to end up with his fortune?

Lobo gives Renata a small, flat disc that he says is a tracker she should keep with her, so he always knows where she is.

Eugenio is distraught. He tells Zahie that he needs to turn himself in for having altered a report and for saying that his wife died from a stray bullet. He is very agitated, gets up, and goes down with a heart attack.

Adela tells Fer about Cruz escaping. They connect the dots about Cruz’s shady lawyer being involved. Alejandro, there to accompany Miranda for her statement with Antonia, eavesdrops.

Antonia turns off the recorder, and she and Miranda snarl at each other. Antonia accuses her of being the one who arranged for her to be kidnapped by El Az.

Oscar asks César to leave, and Misael says that he’s his partner. Oscar says it’s concerning something delicate about their father.

El Az talks on the phone with Tuqueque, who’s waiting in the car. He wants César dead right now!

Oscar tells Misael he’s come about Papí’s birthday. They argue some. After Oscar walks out, Misael realizes that Plácido’s birthday is not that soon and races out. Oscar runs up on César, who has earbuds in and doesn’t hear. Oscar raises his pistol but, of course, it’s time for a commercial.

Miércoles – Parte 2 de 2 When we return from the commercial break, Oscar hesitates. Misael runs out and shouts at Oscar. Tuqueque grabs a gun and jumps out of the car. Oscar doesn’t deny to his brother what the plan was. Tuqueque decides to carry out the boss’s order and raises his gun. Misael sees him and jumps in front of César. They’re both shot. Oscar sobs over his brother.

Miranda and Ale plan to get hold of Cruz.

Zahie calls Ant about her father. Lobo also arrives. Antonia blames herself for the terrible things she said to her father.

Cruz and Miranda meet in some weird location with lots of steel beams. Cruz says he can help her if he gets his job back. She tells him he’s useless to her now and points a gun at him. She reminds him that the deal was to get the money. And for her to get away from her abusive husband instead of being shot herself. She shoots him in the arm. They trade some shots, but the finale is too far off for either of them to die.

César and Misael get a Romeo and Romeo goodbye scene. Oscar sobs by their side, saying he’ll accept their love. But they both die.

It’s said that Eugenio’s in bad shape, but still alive.

Fer plays the recording of Cocula confessing that Cruz and El Az paid him to set up the killing of Gustavo. He also tells Hugo over the phone that everyone was told that Cocula’s taped confession arrived anonymously.

Tuqueque and Oscar come to tell Plácido about what happened. Oscar says that César is dead, and El Az grins and chortles. But Oscar goes on to say that Misael died also. Big Ed overacts some. Tuqueque says he was trying to shoot César, but Misael jumped in front. El Az shoots the little psychopath quite a few times.

Alejandro rags on Miranda for not telling him where she went. [Boy, I’m tired of this weasel.]

Antonia tells Sué about Misael and César. She seems to think it was a settling of scores, but Sué cries out that they loved each other.

Cruz shows up at his former home pointing a gun at Leonor. He snarls at her about her betrayal.

Oscar says it’s his fault Misael died, just like it was his fault about his grandmother dying. He points a gun at his head, but El Az grabs it. They cry together for a moment. But Oscar pushes him away, saying it was both their faults for not accepting who Misael was.

Leonor bandages Cruz while they squabble some.

A woman comes to inspect Santi’s house regarding their request to adopt a child.

Fer comes to speak with Leonor. She gets nasty. He finally is forced to just tell her that her son was found dead. Cruz is listening around a corner and grimaces with pain.

Thanks Novelera for the recap.

The goodbye scene with Misael and Cesar retelling each other their (now thwarted) dreams of the future together was beautiful. Oscar heard and was impactado.

"LOBO"
Novelera: I wasn't expecting both Cesar & Misael to get killed off like that WOW!

Anastasia: Wondering who's going to tell Nacho about Cesar getting killed? Guessing that Sue will have to deliver the bad news.

Hothead Oscar did it AGAIN: He's responsible for Remeidos getting killed off & now responsible for both Cesar & Misael getting killed off!

I'll recap #59 but I'm not sure how soon I can post it.

Such a sad episode with Misael and Cesar. Too bad their families don’t pull together like in Romeo and Juliet. Too much hate.

Miranda is really driving me crazy! Why is she so hateful? Tio Raul seems to be losing patience. Good for him! I’m also losing patience. Time for Lobo & Renata to head for greener pastures.

Copa Mundial starts Thursday June 11, so I believe Lobo will end by then.
